- 1:54Speaker 1: show So You Think You Can Dance Season sixteen, where
- 1:58Speaker 1: she'd be joined by judges Nigel and Mary. She's one
- 2:01Speaker 1: of the most important pop culture influences and entertainment today.
- 2:05Speaker 1: As a director and choreographer, she counted numerous international superstars
- 2:10Speaker 1: as one of my favorite Katy Perry another one of
- 2:12Speaker 1: my favorite Lady Gaga. Did he a con Nick Minaj
- 2:17Speaker 1: among her clients? Please welcome to money making conversation, laur
- 2:21Speaker 1: Anne Gibson. Yes, you know, when you got a lot
- 2:27Speaker 1: of credits, it's you gotta you gotta wrap up for
- 2:30Speaker 1: somebody's success as successful as you are. Wow, that's awesome, right,
- 2:35Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, it's all relative. It is all relative.
- 2:38Speaker 1: That's how I think, you know, really, glory to God
- 2:43Speaker 1: and thank God I have the capability right well, you
- 2:46Speaker 1: got it. You know. The thing about it is that,
- 2:48Speaker 1: you know, I've been in entertainment for a while, uh,
- 2:51Speaker 1: you know, started doing stand up and officially record eighty
- 2:55Speaker 1: six and became a television sitcom writer and a producer
- 2:58Speaker 1: and managing talent. And along the way, I've seen, you know,
- 3:03Speaker 1: the whole dance explosion. I remember Steve already uh uh
- 3:07Speaker 1: participated in a dance movie with back in two thousand one,
- 3:11Speaker 1: you know. And and so just to see the evolution
- 3:14Speaker 1: where where where does dance play? How to dance became
- 3:18Speaker 1: a part of your life? Ms? Gibson. I mean you're right,
- 3:22Speaker 1: evolution and explosion are two very relative words to dance.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Right now, in the entertainment industry. But you know, as
- 3:30Speaker 1: far back as I can remember, I've been dancing. I
- 3:33Speaker 1: believe that I was dancing in the heavenly realms. When
- 3:37Speaker 1: I asked my mother to put me in dance school,
- 3:39Speaker 1: I was very young. I was at six or seven. Um,
- 3:43Speaker 1: there's no time in my life that I can remember
- 3:46Speaker 1: not dancing, not feeling the energy of entertainment. You know.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Obviously for me, I attested, as you know, the gift
- 3:55Speaker 1: and that God has given me and bust me with.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So it's always been a part of my life. I
- 4:00Speaker 1: was born in Toronto. At seventeen going on eighteen, I
- 4:03Speaker 1: took a Grayhound but to New York City where I
- 4:06Speaker 1: went to study at Alvin Elle American Dad's Theater, and
- 4:11Speaker 1: from there my career started. I um have had one
- 4:15Speaker 1: of the best training possible from that school, and you know,
- 4:19Speaker 1: I stand on the shoulders of greats. And and then
- 4:22Speaker 1: I went to a heavy d audition where I met
- 4:24Speaker 1: pop Daddy and I fell in love with hip hop.
- 4:27Speaker 1: And then I started uh choregraphing for Mary J. Blage
- 4:31Speaker 1: And that's what really started my choreography career. Because you say,
- 4:37Speaker 1: you start you've been dancing all your life there was
- 4:40Speaker 1: a passion that was a low. How did that translate
- 4:42Speaker 1: to wanting to be able to you know, teach, because
- 4:45Speaker 1: that's a that's a different skill set because not longly
- 4:48Speaker 1: you're teaching one person, you tend to have to teach
- 4:50Speaker 1: a group of people to stay on beat, to to
- 4:53Speaker 1: to match consistency. Also, if you if you're on tour
- 4:57Speaker 1: with a star talent, they have to play a role
- 4:59Speaker 1: in the dance movement. How do how does that translate
- 5:02Speaker 1: to your abilities? I think that that, uh, as a
- 5:06Speaker 1: dancer is one thing, but I think you're right the
- 5:10Speaker 1: evolution of a dancers definitely the choreographer and um, what
- 5:16Speaker 1: I do as a creative director is making sure all
- 5:21Speaker 1: of those components come together. You know, when you're dealing
- 5:24Speaker 1: with the artist, that's about artists development. They work differently.
- 5:27Speaker 1: You know, not every dancer has the gift to core
- 5:30Speaker 1: graphs and chre not all choreographers have the gift to
- 5:35Speaker 1: creative direct or understand the direction aspect of it. So
- 5:39Speaker 1: you know, for me, I'm very blessed. I have all
- 5:41Speaker 1: of those kids and they work in tandem to create
- 5:45Speaker 1: such things as you know, the Bad Boy Reunion Tour,
- 5:48Speaker 1: the Monster Ball, uh, Nicki Minaj's pink Print tour. So
- 5:52Speaker 1: there's a lot of different components that come together, um
- 5:55Speaker 1: when designing something from an artist hearing their music, under
- 6:00Speaker 1: standing their vision than creating the dance deps than understanding
- 6:04Speaker 1: what that experience is like, what do the clothes feel like,
- 6:07Speaker 1: what does the lighting feel like? It's an entire evolution
- 6:10Speaker 1: of a vision because really, when you look at it,
- 6:14Speaker 1: like everybody has a skill set and when one comes
- 6:18Speaker 1: to you, do they come to you asking you to
- 6:20Speaker 1: set up the show, set up the format? Are they
- 6:23Speaker 1: are you work with the client and they said, and
- 6:26Speaker 1: you know their abilities? Or how does they work? And
- 6:28Speaker 1: when you when you put together a tour? And also
- 6:30Speaker 1: do you are you involved in the casting of the dancers? Yes,
- 6:34Speaker 1: I'm always involved in the casting and not everyone has
- 6:37Speaker 1: that ability. But as a visionary, yes, it's important to
- 6:41Speaker 1: me to be able to choose who will execute the
- 6:43Speaker 1: movement and why I'm not someone that just operates off
- 6:47Speaker 1: of the look of someone. But it's more about the
- 6:49Speaker 1: gift for me. So yes, I do choose my dancers. Um.
- 6:54Speaker 1: And it's different with every artist, you know, um, most
- 6:57Speaker 1: of the artists. Now, yes, I will create direct cord
- 7:00Speaker 1: up and see the entire vision through. But on the
- 7:02Speaker 1: way and the journey, No, it wasn't always like that.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I had to earn that. I understand that I had
- 7:07Speaker 1: the ability to do that, So it was It's different
- 7:11Speaker 1: with every client, um, which makes it unique to each situation,
- 7:15Speaker 1: which means that you have to be very creative. I'm
- 7:17Speaker 1: on the phone with she's on the phone with this
- 7:20Speaker 1: interview is Laurie and Gibson. She's talented, one of the
- 7:23Speaker 1: brilliant UH director, corer choreographers in the game today. She's
- 7:28Speaker 1: a new judge on the sixteenth season of the Fox
- 7:30Speaker 1: Dance Competition series. So you think you can dance? Now?
- 7:34Speaker 1: Of course that title, you know, applies to a lot
- 7:37Speaker 1: of people, including me, because you know, I think I
- 7:40Speaker 1: can dance. Or one time in college I was a breakdancer.
- 7:44Speaker 1: So when I was looking at of course I don't
- 7:46Speaker 1: qualify for that age group anymore. Eighteen the thirty showcasing
- 7:50Speaker 1: talents from dance styles from contemporary tap, hip hop, ballroom, animation, breaking,
- 7:57Speaker 1: and more, all those genres. What gender ascites you the
- 8:01Speaker 1: most when you're judging? Are we will be judging? I
- 8:06Speaker 1: mean they're all exciting to me because you know, I
- 8:08Speaker 1: am trained and I do all types of dance so um,
- 8:12Speaker 1: including ballroom, chap jazz. So for me, it's just, you know,
- 8:16Speaker 1: it's a combination of things. I love the passion in
- 8:20Speaker 1: the person's eyes. They what's in their heart, what's in
- 8:23Speaker 1: their soul? You know, how much do they love the dance.
- 8:26Speaker 1: It's not about the style for me as much as
- 8:29Speaker 1: it is as it is about the dance. Okay, so
- 8:34Speaker 1: so so is the emotion because I'm I've seen some
- 8:38Speaker 1: of the preview where I see people flying across the
- 8:40Speaker 1: air now like Peter Pain. You know that they really
- 8:43Speaker 1: have elevated the whole concept of you know, the physicality,
- 8:47Speaker 1: the the the the like city evolution of what you
- 8:49Speaker 1: can do the art form of dancing, because I have
- 8:52Speaker 1: to say that dancing is now well maybe it's always
- 8:54Speaker 1: been in our form, but on the on the show
- 8:56Speaker 1: there's been there around for sixteen season. They have to
- 8:59Speaker 1: keep keep challenging the consumer to be able to come back.
- 9:04Speaker 1: So what what what what surprises you the most about
- 9:06Speaker 1: this particular dance competition show. I think, like you said,
- 9:10Speaker 1: they have evolved and they continue to evolve, which is
- 9:13Speaker 1: important because yes, the dance has always been what it is.
- 9:16Speaker 1: It's just now we have the opportunity and the platform
- 9:20Speaker 1: to put it in front of millions and for people
- 9:23Speaker 1: to just really see how powerful the dance is. We've
- 9:26Speaker 1: always been athletes, We've always been incredible storytellers and vision marries.
- 9:34Speaker 1: So I think, you know, it's great that we can
- 9:36Speaker 1: be brought to popular culture the way this show does.
- 9:40Speaker 1: And you know, now they have the three sixty cameras
- 9:43Speaker 1: and you can utilize technology to freeze frame a movement
- 9:47Speaker 1: so you can just see how athletic and how amazing,
- 9:51Speaker 1: you know, the art of dance really is. And obviously,
- 9:55Speaker 1: you know, if when I was young, I didn't have
- 9:57Speaker 1: this opportunity. So ultimately, so you think it's the dance
- 10:00Speaker 1: is such a great, incredible opportunity to get directly in
- 10:04Speaker 1: front of America and also in the business, and and
- 10:08Speaker 1: you know, have the ability to showcase your gift very
- 10:12Speaker 1: early on in your career, champion your move. You decided
- 10:17Speaker 1: to move to New York and and and and why
- 10:19Speaker 1: did they? Why did why would this so important to ask?
- 10:21Speaker 1: Somebody tell you go ahead, follow your dream. I think,
- 10:27Speaker 1: you know, I have an amazing family. My mom was
- 10:31Speaker 1: not able to follow her dreams. So from a very
- 10:34Speaker 1: young age she encouraged her girl to go after their passion.
- 10:39Speaker 1: It was something that she couldn't do um based on
- 10:43Speaker 1: the ignorance of you know, her parents and the time.
- 10:47Speaker 1: So she encouraged us very young without any you know, like,
- 10:54Speaker 1: without telling us how to do it. She just encouraged
- 10:57Speaker 1: that mindset. And what that did was it it opened
- 11:02Speaker 1: the door to our spirit, to our purpose, to our
- 11:04Speaker 1: connections very early to God and to understanding that voice.
- 11:10Speaker 1: And I connected very early to my passion. Not a
- 11:13Speaker 1: lot of people are able to that, but I did,
- 11:16Speaker 1: and once I did, I just never stopped. I always
- 11:19Speaker 1: had a clear understanding of something that would later reveal itself,
- 11:27Speaker 1: which was a limitation in men and what their oppressive
- 11:31Speaker 1: thought can do to you. I never ever listened to
- 11:36Speaker 1: authorities that spoke against the passion. And my mom always
- 11:40Speaker 1: taught me that very early as well, when someone says
- 11:43Speaker 1: you can't do it, or you're too black, or you're
- 11:45Speaker 1: too short, or you're there, you know, she made a
- 11:48Speaker 1: strong very early and understanding that you know are flawed. Yeah,
- 11:55Speaker 1: I understood very early how to fight it. This is
- 12:00Speaker 1: Loria and Gibson. She's a new judge on the current
- 12:02Speaker 1: season sixteen season of The New No shouldn't say knew
- 12:06Speaker 1: they hit Fox dance competitions here, so you're thinking you
- 12:09Speaker 1: can dance? The show couldn't be seen on Fox every Monday,
- 12:13Speaker 1: nine Eastern on Fox. Uh, Loria Gibson, thank you for
- 12:16Speaker 1: coming on my show. Um, thank you for being a person.
- 12:20Speaker 1: You are a star. Understand that. Uh you know I
- 12:23Speaker 1: say that to individuals that I bring on the show
- 12:26Speaker 1: because you have a legacy, you have a resume, and
- 12:29Speaker 1: I always tell people when you're hype and your resume
- 12:31Speaker 1: meet you're the real deal. And Loria Gibson, you are
- 12:34Speaker 1: the real deal. There's nothing hype about you. We'll be
- 12:41Speaker 1: right back with more from Marsha McDonald. The money making
- 12:43Speaker 1: conversations don't touch that down. I was looking for a
- 12:47Speaker 1: better way to check in on our house while I
- 12:49Speaker 1: was at work and a friend recommended Blink. I was skeptical,
- 12:52Speaker 1: but decided to give it a shot, and I bought
- 12:54Speaker 1: a Blink camera system. With our last security system, false alarms,
- 12:58Speaker 1: wires everywhere, and month bleafees, we couldn't get out of
- 13:01Speaker 1: my bad. But our Blink system is different their motion
- 13:04Speaker 1: activated cameras that work inside and outside their wire free,
- 13:07Speaker 1: easy to set up, and they run on two lithium
- 13:09Speaker 1: batteries that last up to two years. Total peace of
- 13:12Speaker 1: mind and Blink camera system started under eighty bucks with
- 13:15Speaker 1: no subscriptions. We were on vacation and I gotten to
- 13:18Speaker 1: learn of my smartphone that motion was detected at our
- 13:20Speaker 1: front door. I checked my Blink app and I saw
- 13:22Speaker 1: it was just my cool new device being delivered. Okay,
- 13:25Speaker 1: we agreed no new devices except Blink. Just kidding, not kidding.
- 13:29Speaker 1: With Blink camera systems starting under eighty bucks. Home security
- 13:33Speaker 1: just got easier. Go to Blink Protected dot Com, slash Secure,
- 13:37Speaker 1: blink protect dot Com, slash Secure, blink Protect dot Com

- 14:27Speaker 1: Already been worldwide because I've been on social media, but
- 14:29Speaker 1: I'm about to be statewide, statewide. It's really big. We
- 14:32Speaker 1: tell people in Chicago you, and New York you, and
- 14:36Speaker 1: Florida you in Texas. That sounds really huge, and money
- 14:39Speaker 1: making conversations about to be heard with all kinds of
- 14:42Speaker 1: times a midnight, early hours drive time because when you
- 14:47Speaker 1: send ate, you have all different slots, so there's no
- 14:49Speaker 1: set slot where I will be, but I will be
- 14:51Speaker 1: in those markets on digital as well as the restaural
- 14:54Speaker 1: station because of my already on Serious x him my
- 14:57Speaker 1: next guest, she's on the phone, and plus I gotta
- 14:59Speaker 1: make a donation today. I'm ready to make that donation
- 15:01Speaker 1: today because last time she was on the phone, I
- 15:03Speaker 1: made an announcement that I would be making the donation
- 15:06Speaker 1: she never sent me in the paperwork. We're gonna talk
- 15:08Speaker 1: about that, so I'm just saying that before I introduced
- 15:10Speaker 1: hers so she can get riled up. My next guest
- 15:12Speaker 1: is one of my favorite people in Hollywood. She's an actress, author,
- 15:16Speaker 1: talk show host, activist, philanthropists, and has been an entertainment
- 15:19Speaker 1: veteran her entire life. Her career as an actress dates
- 15:23Speaker 1: back more than three decades and has led her to
- 15:25Speaker 1: become a voice for her father, her son, and community
- 15:29Speaker 1: with the Holly Rod Foundation. The Holly Rod Foundation was
- 15:32Speaker 1: formed in eighteen seventies seven by actress introduced and her
- 15:37Speaker 1: husband NFL quarterback Rodney Pete. She is on the show
- 15:41Speaker 1: today to discuss the upcoming charity gala, plus other great
- 15:45Speaker 1: things that happened in her life. Please welcome to money
- 15:48Speaker 1: Making Conversation again, Miss Holly Robinson Pete. Good morning going. Okay,
- 15:59Speaker 1: you get that tell where we don't worry about it,
- 16:01Speaker 1: because did you know what we're gonna do, Rishaw gonna

- 16:07Speaker 1: through because first of all, we're gonna go to go
- 16:09Speaker 1: to ww dot Holly Rod dot com dot dot org. Don't.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna go right there. I'm going right there now.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Tell everybody why I'm setting up making the donation, make
- 16:19Speaker 1: a five thousand dollar donation. Oh my goodness, we know
- 16:22Speaker 1: why why you're doing it, because you are one of
- 16:25Speaker 1: the most stand up people that I know in this
- 16:28Speaker 1: business that I've ever met. That's why you're doing it.
- 16:31Speaker 1: But the nonprofit is something I'm so proud of. Not
- 16:34Speaker 1: to celebrate our twenty one anniversary at our Design Care
- 16:38Speaker 1: events so into fashion show and concert in California and
- 16:42Speaker 1: Los Angeles and UM we celebrate UM people who are inspirational,
- 16:49Speaker 1: and we celebrate corporations that are compassionate, and we have
- 16:52Speaker 1: a good old time for our autism and Parkinson's. A
- 16:56Speaker 1: lot of people know my son r J has autism,
- 16:58Speaker 1: that my dad, Matt Robinson and hid Parkinson's, and actually
- 17:01Speaker 1: my brother Matt Robinson has Parkinson's right now. I don't
- 17:05Speaker 1: know if you knew that Rashana PARKINSS. But so we
- 17:08Speaker 1: are fighting for families impacted by both autism and Parkinson's
- 17:12Speaker 1: and it has been a really amazing labor of love. UM.
- 17:19Speaker 1: You have to be passionate about philanthropy when you're raising money.
- 17:22Speaker 1: It's called creative begging. Although I don't have to get
- 17:24Speaker 1: to creative with you, which is always always. Credit card
- 17:27Speaker 1: is out. Now, credit card is out. I'm a silver sponsor,
- 17:31Speaker 1: have different sponsor level. I'm going with the silver. Yes,
- 17:33Speaker 1: you're responsive. God, I'm doing that now. Keep telling keep
- 17:40Speaker 1: telling their about it, Keep telling everybody about the who's
- 17:43Speaker 1: the who's on the show, Who's who's who are you
- 17:45Speaker 1: honoring this year? So this year we're honoring Eila Gloria.
- 17:49Speaker 1: She's a Latina actress who's going this friend and also
- 17:53Speaker 1: amazing special needs UH champion. She has a sister with
- 17:57Speaker 1: special needs and amazing honor her. Honoring a young man
- 18:00Speaker 1: named Cody I'm sorry, named Callie. Kllen Bennett Um and
- 18:05Speaker 1: Kalen Callen is a basketball player who was the first
- 18:09Speaker 1: basketball player with autism to be recruited to a D
- 18:13Speaker 1: one school, which is a big deal. He's on a
- 18:15Speaker 1: Kent State And so we're honoring Kalen and then we're
- 18:19Speaker 1: honoring this young man Cody Lee. Everybody saw him on
- 18:22Speaker 1: America's Got Talent. He's blind, he has autism. He's saying
- 18:26Speaker 1: Donny Hathaway and blew everybody away. Completely. So he's coming
- 18:30Speaker 1: to perform for us and we're honoring him. We're also
- 18:33Speaker 1: honoring a man named Jimmy Joy. He is he has Parkinson's.
- 18:36Speaker 1: He's on American Ninja Warriors. So you see people who
- 18:38Speaker 1: are doing things despite autism and Parkinsons and changing the world.
- 18:42Speaker 1: And then we are having a fashion show, UM designer
- 18:47Speaker 1: Kamela and uh we are having um an amazing performance
- 18:53Speaker 1: by Cameo. So I've been trying to get I've been
- 18:56Speaker 1: trying to get Cameo to design care for a long time. Um.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Cameo is is always hot and Larry Blackman, but I've
- 19:04Speaker 1: been talking to him for a long time. So he's
- 19:06Speaker 1: gonna perform with his group. UM ever since Beyonce, Uh
- 19:11Speaker 1: did this just the sample the power of Beyonce, the
- 19:14Speaker 1: sample of Candy in her new song let Go, I
- 19:18Speaker 1: mean very very even higher up on the radar. So
- 19:22Speaker 1: it's gonna be a really great night, Rashanna. We're gonna
- 19:24Speaker 1: have a good time, eat party and raise a lot
- 19:26Speaker 1: of money. Well you just got my donation five thousand dollars,
- 19:30Speaker 1: rash You know what processed. I mean, I knew I
- 19:33Speaker 1: was gonna have a money making conversations. But come on down, Rashan,
- 19:37Speaker 1: you're good to go, And just emailed me back. Event
- 19:39Speaker 1: Bright said your tickets for Design Care twin in eighteen.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I get four tickets. It said, you're good to go.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Keep your tickets handy the adventage July twenty seven. Correct,
- 19:51Speaker 1: that's correct. Okay, I'm already just happy to hear an
- 19:55Speaker 1: event Bright is working properly. So thank you for that.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Everything's working properably, because when you do it right and
- 20:00Speaker 1: you're doing a great cause. And uh, last time he
- 20:02Speaker 1: was on the show, you're you know, a big fan
- 20:04Speaker 1: of your husband. Rodney told him for the first time
- 20:07Speaker 1: live how much of a fan I am for him
- 20:09Speaker 1: being the man that he is, and also what he's overcome.
- 20:12Speaker 1: As far as in sports, we all know that the
- 20:15Speaker 1: position he played with quarterback and still to this day
- 20:18Speaker 1: is a position that is questioned often that whether his
- 20:21Speaker 1: players too fast, she's smart enough to play the position.
- 20:25Speaker 1: And this year we had Kyler Murray the number one
- 20:27Speaker 1: pick in the draft and they cautioned his height and
- 20:30Speaker 1: he still used to be the first picking question always questioned.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Now while while he was he was talking a little
- 20:36Speaker 1: bit about some of the guests. I want to break
- 20:38Speaker 1: down a little detail about some of the guests, like
- 20:41Speaker 1: Eva Longoria. She has a very hit show that just
- 20:44Speaker 1: aired on the airs on ABC tonight called The Grand
- 20:47Speaker 1: Hotel and uh, and she's not just on that, she
- 20:51Speaker 1: executive produced it, she directed it. She just she's an empress,
- 20:56Speaker 1: like she could just do pretty much anything. So I'm
- 20:58Speaker 1: really inspired by her. But her heart is always in
- 21:00Speaker 1: the right place. And then she's always been a major
- 21:03Speaker 1: donor to Holly Ride. Her and her husband technic absolutely.
- 21:06Speaker 1: And then who else did you mention? I think you
- 21:07Speaker 1: said Riva Martin? Riva Martin, I did, I forgot I
- 21:11Speaker 1: mentioned Riva. Thank you for bringing her up. Riva is
- 21:14Speaker 1: uh an autism hero. She is, but she does everything
- 21:18Speaker 1: just like Eva. She's on CNN, she's a you know,
- 21:22Speaker 1: political political pundit, she's an advocate, she's activist, she's a
- 21:26Speaker 1: mom and autism mom. Um. She's raising so much funds
- 21:30Speaker 1: for kids with autism in community like South central l
- 21:33Speaker 1: A where they're virtually forgotten. Um. We have been partnered
- 21:38Speaker 1: and friends and on the same mission for many years,
- 21:41Speaker 1: and so I cannot wait to honor Mr. Riva Martin
- 21:43Speaker 1: because she is just phenomenal and what she does and
- 21:47Speaker 1: it's really amazing because the tickets are for the event
- 21:49Speaker 1: of five hundred dollars each and what all comes with
- 21:52Speaker 1: that when they when they purchased a ticket or any gifts,
- 21:55Speaker 1: any is a male is a dancing. Yes, we have
- 21:59Speaker 1: we have amazing food. We have awesome entertainment obviously, and
- 22:03Speaker 1: you're gonna retreat every and it's attacks the ductible donation
- 22:06Speaker 1: of course, and you're just gonna have the best time ever.
- 22:09Speaker 1: You're gonna get back to an amazing cause. Um, you
- 22:12Speaker 1: are going to get the world's best gift bag. You know,
- 22:15Speaker 1: so funny Rashan, I'm always so over the top anal virgo,
- 22:19Speaker 1: right because as I am, I do you too, I
- 22:24Speaker 1: get so I get so over the top about it
- 22:26Speaker 1: and making sure they're really you know big, it's a
- 22:29Speaker 1: great bag, and I just fine tune every little item. Well.
- 22:33Speaker 1: I went to the huge event of the night, Bruno
- 22:35Speaker 1: Mars performed and it was a big foundation event. And
- 22:38Speaker 1: when we walked out to go, I know they're gonna
- 22:40Speaker 1: have a big effect and I like a knapsack and
- 22:42Speaker 1: a cap. I said, what a sec. Obviously, you don't
- 22:46Speaker 1: go to these events. Let me get back. But that's
- 22:48Speaker 1: just something that Design Care we're known for. Your soul
- 22:51Speaker 1: is beautiful, your family's beautiful, This cause is beautiful. That's
- 22:55Speaker 1: why I wanted to publicly make my donation on the air.
- 23:00Speaker 1: This is not something that I passively engaging. Is something
- 23:04Speaker 1: that is one of many things that I'm Fortunately my
- 23:06Speaker 1: wife and I want to make sure she's a part
- 23:08Speaker 1: of this because she makes these same decisions not make
- 23:11Speaker 1: And I'm probably gonna bring it out there on July
- 23:12Speaker 1: twenty seven to see the event because you know, she's
- 23:16Speaker 1: started to participate a lot more because my daughter is
- 23:19Speaker 1: now in college and she's not touring professionally in tennis anymore.
- 23:22Speaker 1: But you just tell everybody in the in the last
- 23:25Speaker 1: four or five seconds how they can make a donation
- 23:27Speaker 1: where they should go. Yes, you can go to Holly
- 23:29Speaker 1: Rod dot org h L L O y r o
- 23:32Speaker 1: G dot org. You can for sure buy tickets for
- 23:35Speaker 1: Design Care. But if you want to make a donation,
- 23:38Speaker 1: you can make a donation any any amount. It's fine. Um.
- 23:42Speaker 1: And as I told you earlier, Rashaan was going to
- 23:45Speaker 1: be talking more later this week, announcing more of the
- 23:47Speaker 1: opportunities for people to be able to win an opportunity
- 23:50Speaker 1: to walk on the Red Carpet with us on July.
- 23:53Speaker 1: We cannot wait and we hope to see you there.
- 23:56Speaker 1: If not, thank you so much for supporting us and Rashawn,
- 23:59Speaker 1: thank you, We're always supporting being such an amazing friend

- 24:10Speaker 1: recommended Blink. I was skeptical, but decided to give it
- 24:13Speaker 1: a shot, and I bought a Blink camera system. With
- 24:16Speaker 1: our last security system, false alarms, wires everywhere, and monthly fees,
- 24:20Speaker 1: we couldn't get out of my bad But our Blink
- 24:22Speaker 1: system is different. Their motion activated cameras that work inside
- 24:26Speaker 1: and outside, their wire free, easy to set up, and
- 24:28Speaker 1: they run on two lithium batteries that last up to
- 24:30Speaker 1: two years. Total peace of mind and Blink camera system
- 24:33Speaker 1: started under eighty bucks with no subscriptions. We were on
- 24:37Speaker 1: vacation and I gotten to learn of my smartphone that
- 24:39Speaker 1: motion was detected at our front door. I checked my
- 24:41Speaker 1: Blink app and I saw it was just my cool
- 24:43Speaker 1: new device being delivered. Hey, we agreed no new devices
- 24:46Speaker 1: except Blink. Just kidding, not kidding. With Blink camera systems

- 28:16Speaker 1: American youth Youth is based in Atlanta, Georgia. I have
- 28:20Speaker 1: on the phone the founder of The Truth Playmaker Awards.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Please welcome to the Money Making Conversation, Kristen Jones. Christine.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Did they get a righty? Mr? Jones? Yes you did.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Mr Sean, thank you, pretty good show. I appreciate you
- 28:35Speaker 1: articulating so well. Now tell me about this award show.
- 28:39Speaker 1: It happened yesterday, correct, at the at the gathering spot. Correct, Now,
- 28:45Speaker 1: what was the purpose of this award show? And who
- 28:47Speaker 1: are you trying to honor at this award show? And why? Well,
- 28:51Speaker 1: the purpose of the award show as a whole because
- 28:54Speaker 1: it's also are nonprofit. It's helped underprivileged youth learn how
- 28:58Speaker 1: to invest in trade in the stock market so we
- 29:00Speaker 1: can trade generation of wealth and financial free from our
- 29:03Speaker 1: community and as far as they'll work, show goes, and
- 29:06Speaker 1: who we're trying to honor me to try to I'm
- 29:08Speaker 1: trying to honor inline peers and money of my black
- 29:12Speaker 1: peers in business in different other industries because we as
- 29:17Speaker 1: well under the ages of seventeens really don't get this
- 29:21Speaker 1: as regarded and it made me an adult wood in
- 29:24Speaker 1: the same industry even though we might be better. So
- 29:27Speaker 1: I wanted to give us an opportunity to be able
- 29:29Speaker 1: to connect and collaborate with each other. And not only
- 29:32Speaker 1: each other, but I have people in the room that
- 29:34Speaker 1: we can connect and collaborate with. Let me take this
- 29:37Speaker 1: to the next level. Okay, cool, Truth playmakers. Now, truth
- 29:41Speaker 1: is as a nickname of yours did you go by
- 29:44Speaker 1: because you are the truth? Yes, my name is Christian
- 29:48Speaker 1: the truth. Jones, the truth? Okay, all right, now, you know,
- 29:52Speaker 1: got a lot of people out there. It's come. Athletes
- 29:54Speaker 1: can come track you down, like Paul Piers he's the
- 29:56Speaker 1: truth in basketball, Dion Sanders and when each asked me,
- 30:00Speaker 1: he always says he's the truth. So you're the truth
- 30:03Speaker 1: in the stock market. That's what you're saying, Mr Jones,
- 30:06Speaker 1: and period. Okay, okay, god not how old are you,
- 30:12Speaker 1: young man? So we can talk about how you've been
- 30:14Speaker 1: able to You're twelve years old and you're respectful. I
- 30:18Speaker 1: like that. And so when did you feel it? Because
- 30:21Speaker 1: you tell me a little bit about your parents and
- 30:24Speaker 1: your life, because you're twelve years old and you're effectively
- 30:27Speaker 1: showing maturity at a point of view at twelve years old,
- 30:29Speaker 1: you're talking about the stock market. So tell me a
- 30:32Speaker 1: little bit about your parents. Well, my dad does real
- 30:35Speaker 1: estate and my mom is in the military, and my
- 30:39Speaker 1: mom and dad have really been very inde important and
- 30:43Speaker 1: help me grow and get to where I am now,
- 30:45Speaker 1: because I would not be where I am now without
- 30:47Speaker 1: their support financially, emotionally, physically, and it's just helped me
- 30:52Speaker 1: in so many ways. They're amazing and great people. WI
- 30:55Speaker 1: you're driving looking for the next best thing they can
- 30:57Speaker 1: do to help grow and health the commune. Easy, okay, cool?
- 31:01Speaker 1: Now what are you twelve years old? Point of view?
- 31:04Speaker 1: Stock market? What interests you are? What? What knowledge? What
- 31:08Speaker 1: did you start looking at the stock market as a
- 31:10Speaker 1: potential angle or a creative angle to look at? And
- 31:14Speaker 1: when did you When did you say this is what
- 31:15Speaker 1: I want to do? Well, it all happens when I
- 31:20Speaker 1: back in like two, fourteen, four and five years ago.
- 31:25Speaker 1: So he was seven, Um when I saw a Facebook
- 31:31Speaker 1: post fourteen year old at a black boy at Chicago
- 31:34Speaker 1: and made fifty thousand dollars off the stock market after
- 31:41Speaker 1: investment a Nike since you wanted to buy them Jordan's
- 31:45Speaker 1: so he like anyone who wanted, Um, who want to
- 31:49Speaker 1: make that kind of money? I asked my mom to
- 31:51Speaker 1: chiefly how to do that, how to investment stock market?
- 31:54Speaker 1: At first, she didn't take me seriously, but then I
- 31:58Speaker 1: started reading up on the stop can they telling her
- 32:01Speaker 1: about what I was learning. So then she started to
- 32:05Speaker 1: take me a little more seriously and eventually taught me,
- 32:07Speaker 1: after taking a course of her off, how to invest
- 32:10Speaker 1: and trade in the stop warks. So okay, so she
- 32:16Speaker 1: didn't take you serious because you're seven years old. Go
- 32:18Speaker 1: I understand that, Mr Jones. There's a reason I wouldn't
- 32:21Speaker 1: take you serious either. You come up there. First of all,
- 32:23Speaker 1: you don't have no money, so could you invest in
- 32:25Speaker 1: the stockball? You gotta have money, So first of all,
- 32:28Speaker 1: you need to go down and get some lollipops. That's
- 32:30Speaker 1: what I'm thinking. That's seven years old. You know you
- 32:32Speaker 1: over were talking about me giving you money so you
- 32:35Speaker 1: can invest in the stock. All I see is like
- 32:37Speaker 1: it's just going in the wind. So so understand your
- 32:39Speaker 1: parents were right not to take you serious. Okay, So
- 32:43Speaker 1: when did this start taking you serious? Mr? Jones? Remember
- 32:48Speaker 1: you just seven years old? Remember you seven years old?
- 32:50Speaker 1: So it took him two years to realize that. Were
- 32:53Speaker 1: you saving any money at the time when you're doing
- 32:55Speaker 1: cutting in the yards? Did you give you weekly five dollars?
- 32:58Speaker 1: Did you started saving that? What were you doing with
- 33:01Speaker 1: your mo I have to make my own money, Okay,
- 33:03Speaker 1: I don't get I don't get along that. Okay. So
- 33:05Speaker 1: for two years day, what did you do? Did you
- 33:10Speaker 1: Did you have any money saved over that period? You
- 33:11Speaker 1: know you have birthdays, your two birthdays come up. Did
- 33:13Speaker 1: you get any money for your birthdays? What was happening there?
- 33:17Speaker 1: I was, well, I did get some money for my birthday.
- 33:19Speaker 1: That helped a little bit. I was mostly hustling and
- 33:21Speaker 1: selling you my books to win within Okay, cool, Okay,
- 33:24Speaker 1: now we'll be back. Okay. So you wrote a book
- 33:26Speaker 1: at seven, Well, I wrote the book when I was eight.
- 33:30Speaker 1: I was more so I got interested when I was seven.
- 33:34Speaker 1: I wrote the book when I was eight, and honestly,
- 33:36Speaker 1: ninety days I made over five thousand dollars. In two
- 33:39Speaker 1: thousand seven, you had the vision you wanted to get
- 33:41Speaker 1: in the stock, and then two thousand eight you wrote
- 33:43Speaker 1: a book. I apologize. Wow, two thousand I'm thinking about Okay,
- 33:49Speaker 1: two thousand thirteen you wrote the book, right. Two thousand
- 33:53Speaker 1: twelve is when you when you saw the no no, no, Okay.
- 33:58Speaker 1: It was two thousand fourteen when I saw the Kim
- 34:00Speaker 1: who made the money. She doesn't see when I broke
- 34:04Speaker 1: the book. Wow, I'm the one that's losing track of
- 34:07Speaker 1: time here and now from that book, you generated how
- 34:12Speaker 1: much money in sales? Book sales? I made over five
- 34:16Speaker 1: thousand dollars in ninety days? Okay, cool? In ninety days?
- 34:19Speaker 1: What did you do with that money. Well, I saved
- 34:23Speaker 1: it and put it into my stock account. And now
- 34:28Speaker 1: now now we have money in the stock market. Now,
- 34:30Speaker 1: did you have to go to your parents to get
- 34:32Speaker 1: approval to spend that money or how did that work?
- 34:37Speaker 1: So basically, um, now I'm about nine or ten years
- 34:41Speaker 1: old and my mom is starting to teach me about
- 34:44Speaker 1: the stock market. So she opens me up a brokerage
- 34:46Speaker 1: account and push the money in there, but she won't
- 34:50Speaker 1: let me touch it yet. So all right, actually like
- 34:53Speaker 1: knowing that supposed the back of my head. Okay, So,
- 34:57Speaker 1: so she's still not trusting you, which is good, which
- 35:00Speaker 1: is good. Again, she don't want you to just make
- 35:02Speaker 1: a mistake. This is money, and so she's I would
- 35:05Speaker 1: tell people, I understand where people are cautionary. That's all right, dude,
- 35:11Speaker 1: She's not spending your money. She's telling you being maybe
- 35:14Speaker 1: in your situation you felt overly protective of your money. Now,
- 35:18Speaker 1: what was the first trade that you made with your money?
- 35:22Speaker 1: The first price? Yes, sir, so basically the first time
- 35:29Speaker 1: I made actual money in the stock market. Well, you
- 35:32Speaker 1: made you bought stock? Correct? Like, what's that? She said that? Again? Hello? Yes,
- 35:42Speaker 1: I said, so when you generated income in the stock market,
- 35:46Speaker 1: what what how did you evaluate that decision to buy
- 35:49Speaker 1: a particular stock. Well, when I first made money in
- 35:55Speaker 1: the stock market, how I was able to evaluate it
- 35:58Speaker 1: is about using the system that um that's been proven
- 36:02Speaker 1: to work. And I have to select great stocks. And
- 36:05Speaker 1: the thing about the stock market that you don't have
- 36:07Speaker 1: to You don't need a whole bunch of stockument me
- 36:09Speaker 1: like one or two that's are consistently generating intro. And
- 36:15Speaker 1: so that's what you're saying, Like, for instance, you know
- 36:19Speaker 1: my stock I have, you know they buy I don't
- 36:23Speaker 1: know what it used to be when I started buying
- 36:24Speaker 1: my stock. I had home depot. I knew exactly what
- 36:27Speaker 1: stocks I have. I don't know who they tell me that.
- 36:30Speaker 1: They come to me, they say, we have a conservative
- 36:32Speaker 1: line of stock, we have an aggressive line of stock.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Where would you like to be And that's what I said, Well,
- 36:37Speaker 1: I'm conservative, and so they're buy my stocks basically on
- 36:41Speaker 1: that conservative line of thinking. So you're saying that if
- 36:44Speaker 1: you're just an individual, don't just go out there buying
- 36:46Speaker 1: a bunch of stocks, focus on a couple or two
- 36:49Speaker 1: or three. That's what you're saying, right, Yes, that's you've
- 36:52Speaker 1: done your truth on and the truth is right. Companies
- 37:00Speaker 1: that you like and that you already buy from our researchers,
- 37:04Speaker 1: companies thoroughly. You understand her historical data. See trade after closing,
- 37:10Speaker 1: give yourself some time to think about it. H having
- 37:13Speaker 1: enter an exit strategy and stick to the plan. Don't
- 37:17Speaker 1: be reading. Okay, now I'm impressed. I wish you to
- 37:24Speaker 1: met you in nineteen ninety five when I was when
- 37:31Speaker 1: I invested in BAM, which is a book a million club. Okay,
- 37:35Speaker 1: that's you know. I moved my stock when I invested
- 37:38Speaker 1: the k Mark. I wish you'd to met you, young man.
- 37:41Speaker 1: The truth. Now reiterate that that little quote again because
- 37:45Speaker 1: I put it on my wall. Now we say it
- 37:46Speaker 1: again because I'm gonna bring you back on my show.
- 37:48Speaker 1: You're gonna come in my studio live. You don't mind
- 37:50Speaker 1: sitting next to me, do you, sir? No? I don't mind. Okay,
- 37:54Speaker 1: cause we're gonna sit next to you, gonna do live.
- 37:55Speaker 1: We'll take questions on air. Okay. Now reiterate that the
- 37:58Speaker 1: truth again and what it means. I have adults right now,
- 38:02Speaker 1: righting it down, So talk slow TEA. Twenty companies that
- 38:07Speaker 1: you like and that you already buy from. Are research
- 38:12Speaker 1: those companies thoroughly, you understand the historical data. Te trade
- 38:20Speaker 1: after closing, give yourself some time to think about it
- 38:24Speaker 1: and h have an enter and at a strategy, and
- 38:28Speaker 1: don't be green. Stick to the plant. There's a lot
- 38:34Speaker 1: of people then did the greedy part happening to the truth? Mh,
- 38:39Speaker 1: I've done it myself before. To hear it. I love it.
- 38:45Speaker 1: I love it because see the thing about it is
- 38:47Speaker 1: that he's telling the absolutely truth. I tell people all
- 38:49Speaker 1: the time, like if if you if you shop it
- 38:51Speaker 1: on dupot, why are you buying stocking loads? Okay, if
- 38:55Speaker 1: you buy an Apple, why are you buying an ivy?
- 38:57Speaker 1: And why are you investing in that? Bea buy where
- 38:59Speaker 1: you feel you see what I was making mistakes us.
- 39:02Speaker 1: I would. I would listen to these crazy people on TV.
- 39:05Speaker 1: You know Mad the mad Man, Mad money guy. He's
- 39:09Speaker 1: led me a straight many times. But it sounded so good.
- 39:12Speaker 1: That's why I like what he's saying. Is that buy
- 39:14Speaker 1: after closing, because you know you can buy in the
- 39:17Speaker 1: morning because they said it's hot, because you see stock move,
- 39:21Speaker 1: it could move, and then so you buy and you
- 39:23Speaker 1: buy hot and by closing this drops down, you lost money.
- 39:26Speaker 1: So he's absolutely correct in his philosophy. I'm just letting
- 39:29Speaker 1: you know if this is a guy who's lost money.
- 39:32Speaker 1: I think I made some money, but I know for
- 39:34Speaker 1: a fact I've lost some money. Bam bam. Book a
- 39:38Speaker 1: million club cost me some money. I'm just gonna tell
- 39:40Speaker 1: everybody publicly I did that. But I just wanted to
- 39:43Speaker 1: bring you on the show, my friend, UH, to talk
- 39:45Speaker 1: about your award show, the first one ever. I will
- 39:48Speaker 1: definitely be a part of your show next year. Um.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Like I said, my my schedule is crazy, but I'm
- 39:53Speaker 1: a block out some time. But I know that Uh.
- 39:56Speaker 1: I was invited to be a part of Be a
- 39:57Speaker 1: Tender show and I wasn't able to make because I
- 39:59Speaker 1: was out town. I told my staff please, I want
- 40:02Speaker 1: to let them know that I was very respectful for
- 40:05Speaker 1: the invite and I just wanted to bring you on
- 40:07Speaker 1: my show today and let everybody here what you're trying
- 40:10Speaker 1: to do. And also I want to be a part
- 40:12Speaker 1: of it next year. Is that cool? Yes, that's fine,
- 40:15Speaker 1: And I want to say again thank you for allowing
- 40:17Speaker 1: me to be on the show. And aren't you are
- 40:19Speaker 1: you located in Atlanta or somewhere else. I'm gonna I'm everywhere,
- 40:23Speaker 1: but Atlanta is one of my seasons I do call home.
- 40:25Speaker 1: I'm in Houston, I'm in d C, New York, but
- 40:28Speaker 1: right now I'm in Atlanta, Georgia. My friend, Oh yours,
- 40:34Speaker 1: We're good. We're good. The show is based in Atlanta.
- 40:37Speaker 1: And but I will tell you what. I will be
- 40:39Speaker 1: uh able to continue event next year. I apologize for
- 40:43Speaker 1: not being able to attend to this year. And good luck,
- 40:45Speaker 1: my friend. Thank you, I said, thank you for allowing
- 40:48Speaker 1: me to be on the show. This was an amazing
- 40:50Speaker 1: conversation to have with you. Well, you're an amazing young man.
- 40:53Speaker 1: You told us the truth. I've written down the truth.
- 40:56Speaker 1: And the good thing about is that all the advice
- 40:58Speaker 1: that you gave us on this show today was motivating.
- 41:00Speaker 1: The fact that you have a vision, your parents who
- 41:02Speaker 1: believe in you and trusted you, and also allowed you
- 41:06Speaker 1: to understand that you have to work hard to reach
- 41:08Speaker 1: your dreams. This is RuSHA McDonald. This is money making
- 41:11Speaker 1: conversations from man McDonald, and money making conversations don't touch that.
- 41:17Speaker 1: I was looking for a better way to check in
- 41:19Speaker 1: on our house while I was at work and a
- 41:21Speaker 1: friend recommended Blink. I was skeptical, but decided to give
- 41:24Speaker 1: it a shot, and I bought a Blink camera system.
- 41:26Speaker 1: With our last security system, false alarms, wires everywhere, and
- 41:30Speaker 1: monthly fees, we couldn't get out of my bad. But
- 41:32Speaker 1: our Blink system is different. Their motion activated cameras that
- 41:35Speaker 1: work inside and outside, their wire free, easy to set up,
- 41:38Speaker 1: and they run on two lithium batteries that last up
- 41:41Speaker 1: to two years. Total peace of mind and Blink camera
- 41:43Speaker 1: system started under eighty bucks with no subscriptions. We were
- 41:47Speaker 1: on vacation and I gotten to learn of my smartphone
- 41:49Speaker 1: that motion was detected at our front door. I checked
- 41:52Speaker 1: my Blank app and I saw it was just my
- 41:53Speaker 1: cool new device being delivered. Hey, we agreed no new
- 41:56Speaker 1: devices except Blink. Just kidding, not kidding. With Blink camera
- 42:00Speaker 1: system starting under eighty bucks, home security just got easier.

- 42:18Speaker 1: this is Tasha Evans and I'd love to eat a

- 42:52Speaker 1: The basketball court was just the beginning for my next guest.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Retired NBA champion in fourteen year NBA better Having studied
- 43:00Speaker 1: Street and U t l A, the Sacramento neighbor native
- 43:03Speaker 1: has entered the investment world as an entrepreneur with a
- 43:06Speaker 1: bold vision that pushes all boundaries. He is a co
- 43:09Speaker 1: owner of a flower boutique, Old Vine, Very Tall Productions,
- 43:15Speaker 1: a juice bar chain called Liquidology, q as h You Eat,
- 43:20Speaker 1: and an NBA licensing bedding line called Active Dreamers that
- 43:24Speaker 1: allows the league's biggest fans to decorate their rooms like
- 43:27Speaker 1: a pro. He has some more things we're gonna talk
- 43:29Speaker 1: about as well. I just wanted just to list that
- 43:31Speaker 1: just let you see you're talking to a real entrepreneur
- 43:34Speaker 1: who's exited the game as a from as a basketball star,
- 43:38Speaker 1: now he is a business star off the court. Please
- 43:40Speaker 1: welcome to money Making Conversations for the very first time,
- 43:43Speaker 1: Matt Barnes, Hey, thank you for having me. I appreciate that.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Hey man, that lay out there, my friend your store.
- 43:53Speaker 1: So tell me about you. H u E, Why why
- 43:56Speaker 1: that name? And why did you get into the group
- 44:00Speaker 1: me lave business When you said grooming, what does all
- 44:02Speaker 1: that did tail? Because I have a beard and a mustache. Yeah, so, uh,
- 44:06Speaker 1: I was just I have someone who's always kind of
- 44:09Speaker 1: taking pride of my appearance and uh, you know, kept
- 44:11Speaker 1: a pretty clean haircut and and and and just kind
- 44:14Speaker 1: of really tried to always present myself, um to the
- 44:17Speaker 1: best of my ability. And about three and a half
- 44:20Speaker 1: years ago, a company at a based out of New York,
- 44:22Speaker 1: but there there ran out of l A approached me
- 44:25Speaker 1: about kind of being an ambassador for their company. And
- 44:28Speaker 1: you know, I looked at their products and really liked
- 44:29Speaker 1: the products, like the team they had behind them. So
- 44:33Speaker 1: I took out an ambassador role, but then also had
- 44:35Speaker 1: you know, over the past year kind of taking uh
- 44:39Speaker 1: some equity and a company as well, and really pushing
- 44:41Speaker 1: it as it's my own. Um. I think the men's
- 44:44Speaker 1: grooping space is a really an untapped market. UM. I
- 44:48Speaker 1: feel that, you know, as men, we care about our appearance,
- 44:50Speaker 1: but it's kind of not manly to speak on it.
- 44:54Speaker 1: So we're kind of, you know, start restart that conversation.
- 44:56Speaker 1: You know, grooming yourself is really important. Um. You know,
- 44:59Speaker 1: I have two young tenor old twin boys that you know,
- 45:01Speaker 1: I'm teaching them how to become in and grooving them.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Grooming is a big part of that. So we're just
- 45:05Speaker 1: trying to, you know, restart the conversation that that has
- 45:08Speaker 1: had several years ago when our when our fathers and
- 45:10Speaker 1: our grandfathers, you teach our fathers how to you know,
- 45:13Speaker 1: take care of themselves, and I think that's been lost
- 45:15Speaker 1: to late. So we're trying to restart that conversation. Now.
- 45:17Speaker 1: When you say that, is that from the standpoint of
- 45:20Speaker 1: an athlete because casual wear took over, you know, where
- 45:24Speaker 1: you wearing a suit at Easter Suit, all that stuff
- 45:27Speaker 1: kind of went out the window. Are you talking about
- 45:29Speaker 1: trying to elerate that game? Well, you know, your shaw
- 45:32Speaker 1: come out there with a suit all just like dad,
- 45:34Speaker 1: with a little three a little vast a little town.
- 45:37Speaker 1: I think, I think that it's a while and then
- 45:40Speaker 1: I think over the coast of course of my career,
- 45:42Speaker 1: I want to say, uh, you know, mid two thousands,
- 45:44Speaker 1: late two thousands, B M B A and forced you know,
- 45:47Speaker 1: a different type of dress code, you know, really bringing
- 45:50Speaker 1: you know, kind of throwing casual were out for the
- 45:52Speaker 1: most part and being more business attire. Um. And I
- 45:56Speaker 1: think once the EBA started doing that, it kind of
- 45:58Speaker 1: caught on in other extremes and of the professionals as well. UM.
- 46:02Speaker 1: So it's kind of a copycast situation from that standpoint.
- 46:04Speaker 1: But I'm both, you know, off the cord, I'm very
- 46:06Speaker 1: you know, sweatsuits and in shorts, um, but also like
- 46:11Speaker 1: to dressed up, you know when the occasion calls sport. Well,
- 46:14Speaker 1: it's really cool because you know, I'm a big fan
- 46:16Speaker 1: of the NBA and I to the it's a big deal.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Not just to see the players initors initor arena. You know,
- 46:22Speaker 1: it's almost like a fashion show. You know, they make
- 46:24Speaker 1: a big deal like the past, the shirt who right
- 46:28Speaker 1: when when when Lebron what those that that short suit
- 46:31Speaker 1: the right it blew it up? So so what what's
- 46:36Speaker 1: your fashion? What's your fashion moment? There? Sir? That well,
- 46:39Speaker 1: what what's what? What's your style? They're back? What style
- 46:42Speaker 1: are you bring to the tape um? Like I said,
- 46:44Speaker 1: I'm in between. I like to be business comfortable, so
- 46:48Speaker 1: to speak. You know, I I do enjoy putting on
- 46:50Speaker 1: suits from time to time, but for the most part,
- 46:52Speaker 1: I just you know, I really like to be cleaned
- 46:54Speaker 1: up and present myself. Well, I don't do it as
- 46:57Speaker 1: much now that I'm retired because you know, kind of
- 47:00Speaker 1: my homebody now and my kids and all I focus
- 47:03Speaker 1: on this business don't want to do get a chance
- 47:04Speaker 1: to step out and you know, throw a suit on.
- 47:07Speaker 1: I definitely enjoy doing that. Now, this is interesting because
- 47:10Speaker 1: you almost like a little black shark tank because you've
- 47:15Speaker 1: got all these businesses, you know, So how because what what? What?
- 47:18Speaker 1: Because can you tell me about your staff? Because I
- 47:21Speaker 1: know you're not the one man operation? So how is
- 47:24Speaker 1: this all being managed by you and overseen by you?
- 47:28Speaker 1: I actually have a three person staff. Three other women
- 47:32Speaker 1: besides myself kind of helped me keep everything in order
- 47:35Speaker 1: and everything that I either invested into or became an
- 47:39Speaker 1: equity partner owner and or just stuffed it up. I'm
- 47:42Speaker 1: into in general, um, like I said, the huge uh
- 47:45Speaker 1: men's grooming line. Like I said, I take pride to
- 47:48Speaker 1: my appearance. Um, the active dreamer's betting where we can
- 47:51Speaker 1: pretty much turn any player into a into a comforter
- 47:54Speaker 1: or a fellow. Um and something that my kids loves,
- 47:57Speaker 1: you know what I mean? And that's not tell me
- 48:00Speaker 1: again and you said any player, you know, I gotta
- 48:02Speaker 1: I gotta have a shack shack uh in in any
- 48:06Speaker 1: any separate deals, separate deals with retired players, and some
- 48:11Speaker 1: of those guys are harder to getting out is but
- 48:13Speaker 1: any current players by the turning into a bet set
- 48:17Speaker 1: or pillow. And now something my kids really enjoyed. Um.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Partnering up with very tall productions. You know, TV is
- 48:23Speaker 1: something I've you know, always liked into a separate interest
- 48:26Speaker 1: in and kind of more behind the scenes. Um, so
- 48:29Speaker 1: that's something I enjoy it do. And then Liquidology by
- 48:33Speaker 1: health Bar. We have three brick and mortar stores up
- 48:36Speaker 1: North and Sacramento and it's it's kind of our version
- 48:39Speaker 1: of a juice bar Starbuck. So we kind of failed
- 48:42Speaker 1: the new millennials are more Houston coffee and it's really
- 48:45Speaker 1: a big health kick. But we do all fresh fresh juices, um,
- 48:50Speaker 1: you know, wrap salads, um, the Ahi bowls, all that
- 48:54Speaker 1: kind of healthy things. So we kind of look at
- 48:57Speaker 1: it as kind of a Starbuck situation to come in,
- 48:59Speaker 1: bringing your laptop, thinking out your friends, you know, eat
- 49:01Speaker 1: some healthy food and get some stuff done. Um. I'm
- 49:04Speaker 1: also um an activist on cannabis, firm believer in cannabis
- 49:09Speaker 1: and and and the powers of the plant. What if
- 49:11Speaker 1: you do to help not only adults, you know, but
- 49:14Speaker 1: children from a CBD standpoint, a way, you know, any
- 49:18Speaker 1: way to cure these illnesses that we're pumping people full
- 49:20Speaker 1: of opioids about. So everything you said, everything I have
- 49:24Speaker 1: my hands and I'm very passionate about out the day
- 49:26Speaker 1: to day uh situation anyway, So it's not it's not
- 49:29Speaker 1: really worked. It it's something I enjoy to do. But
- 49:32Speaker 1: if does take time to you know, manifest these things
- 49:35Speaker 1: and make them possible. Now, Mad, you know you're pretty
- 49:39Speaker 1: intense on the basketball court, you right, right, you know
- 49:41Speaker 1: you you you always you all on the basketball court.
- 49:44Speaker 1: I'm just gonna let you know this interview is not
- 49:47Speaker 1: the guy I've actually seen on the basketball. You intense,
- 49:51Speaker 1: You're you're not You're not a big guy, but you could.
- 49:53Speaker 1: I use to worry, worry because you you know, you
- 49:56Speaker 1: use in their face. You know, you wouldn't back down,
- 49:58Speaker 1: had tat it up. And so I'm on the phone
- 50:01Speaker 1: talking to this calm you know, father the year businessman.
- 50:08Speaker 1: I'm not you do catch people off guard, now, don't.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Don't just this personality of people do? I think I
- 50:14Speaker 1: can of people thinking they know who I am because
- 50:17Speaker 1: they're gonna do up some moves, you know, to us,
- 50:19Speaker 1: not on the court, and that's what It's just a
- 50:21Speaker 1: competitive you know, no both type of god. He mad mad,
- 50:26Speaker 1: mad baby he gave be CUsing little Shoemac. We'll not see.
- 50:29Speaker 1: He just went back to the basketball court. He just
- 50:31Speaker 1: went back. He just he immediately went back to the NBA.
- 50:40Speaker 1: I love it. I love it. But that but that
- 50:42Speaker 1: but you know, something to think about it is no,
- 50:44Speaker 1: that's it's all good because we bleeped that out. But
- 50:46Speaker 1: the thing about it that I love is that you
- 50:48Speaker 1: are your own man. You've been a teammate all your life, okay,
- 50:53Speaker 1: and it's time to not It's time to be you.
- 50:55Speaker 1: It's time to be Matt what Matt wants to do.
- 50:58Speaker 1: Because I'm telling you right now, you can carry any
- 51:01Speaker 1: show you want because you have the ability to talk,
- 51:04Speaker 1: You have the ability from it and see it. And
- 51:07Speaker 1: I really think it's important. You already got the sports
- 51:09Speaker 1: that you're doing Fox and ESPN, you're doing local to
- 51:12Speaker 1: national feeds and all that stuff. You got that. But
- 51:15Speaker 1: I think it's time for the world to hear you,
- 51:18Speaker 1: just like you're being hurt on my show, the different
- 51:20Speaker 1: layers of maturity, Uh, that you are intense. Like you said,
- 51:25Speaker 1: you you didn't run from the fact that there's a
- 51:27Speaker 1: difficult life for your boys. You said, I think that's
- 51:29Speaker 1: gonna be fine. That I have to be able to
- 51:31Speaker 1: deal with that for me to be able to deal
- 51:33Speaker 1: with the nuances of God and my boys through life.
- 51:36Speaker 1: You're not running from that. And I think and I
- 51:39Speaker 1: feel that that's really important. I know you've never met me,
- 51:42Speaker 1: but I'm just letting you know that. Uh, when when
- 51:45Speaker 1: you didn't like and I've had some people on here
- 51:47Speaker 1: talking about business, I can tell immediately they just got
- 51:50Speaker 1: their name on it, okay, And uh, and you really
- 51:53Speaker 1: are actively involved in that and so so with all
- 51:55Speaker 1: that being said, uh, stay in touch with me, man,
- 51:58Speaker 1: because I want to be able to if you can
- 52:01Speaker 1: use the word mentor, I have no problem that I
- 52:04Speaker 1: don't need your money. Okay, I'm just telling you. I
- 52:07Speaker 1: just want you to make the right decision. At this point,
- 52:09Speaker 1: at thirty nine, you're at that right age where where
- 52:13Speaker 1: you have a twenty year window in television because you
- 52:16Speaker 1: can carry that group for the next twenty years and
- 52:18Speaker 1: no difference. Not told Nick Cannon in the same conversation,
- 52:20Speaker 1: look at yourself, look at the mirror and say, hey, man,
- 52:23Speaker 1: I'm a bet on me. I'm a bet on me.
- 52:26Speaker 1: It's time for you bet on me. I've warned I
- 52:28Speaker 1: played fourteen years with teammates. I won the championship with teammates.
- 52:32Speaker 1: I played college ball with teammates high school. You know
- 52:35Speaker 1: this guy told me to bet on me. Let me
- 52:38Speaker 1: just hear what he had to and you need to
- 52:41Speaker 1: you you can't talk about all this stuff, man. H
- 52:44Speaker 1: Room in Line, Flyerbolt Boutique, very tall productions, use ball
- 52:48Speaker 1: chain bedding. UH Athletes Versus Cancer, which is a foundation
