- 0:02Last time on no latency. Damn.
- 0:05Is it usually this dark? Is it usually this bumping?
- 0:08Event happening at the Bubble Cafe.
- 0:10Oh, you want to dance? Gently sway along.
- 0:12Dwarf, Dwarf. Dwarf.
- 0:14Yeah, what? Happened.
- 0:14I think I got God. Jeb's everything OK?
- 0:16Don't got my keys no more. Well, should we see Evan White's
- 0:18still outside? Oh God, Oh no, no, no.
- 0:21Jesus Christ. No.
- 0:23Oh dear Lord, no. What it sounds, Jeb, you got
- 0:26honeypotting. There is a maelstrom hideout.
- 0:28Jeb, I didn't know you were such an abort.
- 0:30It won't. Like that, did she?
- 0:31She looked regular. Then why would I bring an?
- 0:34Ammo case inside. So I don't have any guns.
- 0:36And we should probably get there before the morning or they're
- 0:38going to scrap Vanna White. No, it's OK, Jed all.
- 0:42Right, it's time to move out then.
- 0:44So we all have weapons except for Retro who doesn't carry a
- 0:47sidearm. I'm not going to need it.
- 1:00All right, finally get done with the fucking queue, all right
- 1:08there. Looks like it's pinging out
- 1:14about half a mile away. Great, that means we can walk,
- 1:19doesn't it? Yeah.
- 1:21Is this in the combat zone? Listen.
- 1:28I I'm going to be honest with you, I don't give a fuck where
- 1:30it is or who it's got to be. We got to go and we got to go
- 1:32right now. Jeff, you don't.
- 1:35It's look, everyone makes mistakes.
- 1:36You don't have to be so guilty. It's all right.
- 1:39No, y'all, y'all understand? I, I mean they're, they're going
- 1:42to be, they're going to be chopping, chopping her up like
- 1:44like like she's a hunk of meat or something.
- 1:47We got to go. We got to go now.
- 1:50We won't let that happen, don't worry.
- 1:54Tell me again. Vanna White is going to be OK.
- 1:59You swear, you promise because it feels it feels kind of like
- 2:02like we don't got much time and and and she she going to get
- 2:05hurt. Don't worry, Jeb, we are going
- 2:07to figure this out. Don't worry.
- 2:09Hold me. She passes Jeb on the head very
- 2:15delicately. Do you want an encouraging high
- 2:185? What do?
- 2:21You want an encouraging high 5, Jeb?
- 2:23Look, look, look, hand in the air.
- 2:25Oh, I know what to do with that. Kachow.
- 2:29Hey, Jeb, I'm just looking at crime statistics right now from
- 2:32being inside, you know, with my mole inside of the NCPD.
- 2:37Looks like carjackings are up to about 60% more this year than
- 2:42they were last year. So, you know, one, it's not your
- 2:45fault. Looks like it's becoming a, a
- 2:47major thing. Two, if that's the case, there's
- 2:49probably more vehicles for them to chop right off the bat than
- 2:52just right, you know, slice and Vana, you know, So, you know, we
- 2:58got a little bit of time. Is is it true?
- 3:03Well, traditionally it's they have to do it by sun up.
- 3:06So we've got time. It's late, but it's not early.
- 3:11Do you know what I mean? Well, I I guess that's kind of
- 3:16reassuring, yeah. Anyway, can someone look at this
- 3:21and see if we are if this is within combat zone rules because
- 3:26I need to know about how how much damage I can cause to them
- 3:29first. Show me this map.
- 3:32I'll give it to Iona. OK, so if that that's the it's
- 3:37right outside the combat zone, it should be fine.
- 3:40Yeah, just on the border, right? Yeah, it's totally safe there.
- 3:46If it belongs to some. Corporate zones on the other
- 3:48side of the city, right? So true.
- 3:52OK, let me think here. Well, you know what?
- 3:57The dwarf I think has given me a really good idea.
- 4:01Could be a little bit out there, but could be also really, really
- 4:07fun and very, very painful for people, OK.
- 4:12People or. Not or them.
- 4:16Them. Them, of course them.
- 4:18What's what's the the idea? Well, let's hear.
- 4:23Main part of it is that I'm going to need to have ask Iona.
- 4:27Iona, because you have connections within your company,
- 4:30are you able to get say some Acer chlorine or maybe a few bit
- 4:39of bacteria for me? Vendo, could you call one of our
- 4:45scientists to see if they have the excess chemicals needed?
- 4:49I mean, we could get it delivered by drone, but we'd
- 4:51probably have to call fresh. Fresh is inside actually, so we
- 4:55wouldn't have to call fresh. Fresh comes out the door and
- 4:59stands by the front door and smokes a cigarette.
- 5:01Don't say me, I'm so shiny. Shiny and I'm drunk.
- 5:06Drunk and shiny cigarettes. Yeah, I'm.
- 5:12Just letting Fresh have his moment, because who?
- 5:16Who looked at his unbridled joy? And we'll have to let it exist
- 5:22in this world. Because if, if, if this doesn't
- 5:25exist, what do we have to live for?
- 5:30I wish I was happy like him, but I'm just stressed out and sad.
- 5:35Hey, Jeff. Where's the van?
- 5:38Oh. Boy, did I.
- 5:41Say something wrong? Yeah.
- 5:44Collapses to the ground and starts like flailing his arms
- 5:47and legs. Takes.
- 5:51His cowboy hat and puts it from the top of his head onto his
- 5:54face. Don't look at me.
- 5:58Jeff, if we want to get this, if we want to get Vanna White back,
- 6:01you're going to need to pull, pull yourself together.
- 6:02The more you sit down and whine and complain, the better chance
- 6:05that they're going to chop shop it.
- 6:06So if you don't pull yourself together, it's going to start
- 6:08following more on you. All right, no matter.
- 6:10OK, retro, where are you going with this idea with the bacteria
- 6:14and stuff all? Right, fresh pee.
- 6:16Can you give me some dinoflagellate and some azo Azo
- 6:19monoformer? That's blue-green algae.
- 6:23Yeah, sure. I mean, you can either.
- 6:26I mean, I can, I can. I can order some.
- 6:28I'm drunk so I can order some. Why not?
- 6:30When he gets out his tire and starts stepping weight.
- 6:34Roll into face all. Right.
- 6:37While they're doing that, Phoebe, can you go inside,
- 6:40please? Go ahead and get me a blender
- 6:44that they're you're not going to get back sugar and ammonia if
- 6:50they have any. OK, I will retrieve those
- 6:55things. Jeb, check yourself.
- 6:57Do you have any gas grenades? Any type at all.
- 7:01No, no, let me, let me see. I'm sick.
- 7:06And Jeb opens his pack, not getting up.
- 7:09I have. I have a smoke grenade.
- 7:11Hold on. Yeah, I got one of them.
- 7:14Just one. Anything.
- 7:15Anything else? I I got I got 2 smart grenades.
- 7:20Now those have explosives in them.
- 7:21No, I'm useless. Ain't that no.
- 7:25Jeb, Jeb, can you send Sloan to the point that we pinged at and
- 7:31see if they can find a fire suppression system, hopefully
- 7:35the water tank? Who I would slow and even visit
- 7:38to me. I'm I'm useless.
- 7:40I got all right. Pull yours up together.
- 7:42Look, look, look, Look at me in the eye.
- 7:45All right? You're a cowboy.
- 7:47You are strong. I'm cable.
- 7:49You are smart. And strong and you are loved.
- 7:55You mean that last one? Yes, I do.
- 7:59You just need to know that no one is mad at you.
- 8:02We just have to get this done. You promise?
- 8:05Because I really messed up but. Everyone, we promise we're not
- 8:09mad. I'm mad.
- 8:11I give you a high 5, remember? Felt good.
- 8:14That's true. You did that.
- 8:15Felt real good. And inside, Vivi is standing in
- 8:18front of Reeves, who's standing outside the kitchen.
- 8:21Yeah, what is up? Hey Reeves, do you think I could
- 8:25grab a couple of things from the kitchen to use?
- 8:29Sure. Maybe to have permanently for
- 8:33some time if that's OK. I mean, yeah, can and Alice can
- 8:41maybe like steal some shit. Yeah, sure.
- 8:43I. Mean I'll just take it out your
- 8:45cart. Is that good?
- 8:45Yes, that's fine. Cool.
- 8:48Yeah. So you you might not get your
- 8:50share for a bit, but that that's fine.
- 8:51That's fine. Appreciate it.
- 8:54No worries. Yeah, like what do you want?
- 8:57I need a blender. OK.
- 9:00Like just a big bag of sugar if you have it.
- 9:03Oh yeah, no, totally. I use one of those.
- 9:05For for a freshest drink. And some ammonia if you have it,
- 9:11like if I don't know if you have like a glass cleaner or
- 9:13something like that, just just just some ammonia.
- 9:16Oh yeah, yeah, like the stuff. We use to.
- 9:17Clean the tumblers. Yes, exactly.
- 9:20Yeah. No, totally.
- 9:21I mean, yeah, yes, You know what I mean.
- 9:24I'll be right back. Thank you.
- 9:26He. Pops his head out of the little
- 9:28hole in the wall instead of coming out.
- 9:29Here we go. Do you have a bag for these by
- 9:31chance? Kind of a lot.
- 9:33Oh, I'm stuck between a wall and another place.
- 9:36So. And do you have a bag?
- 9:38Yeah. No, he could.
- 9:39You could have just gone through the.
- 9:40Door. Yeah, but it wouldn't be as
- 9:41cool. And you get given a blender, bag
- 9:47of sugar and a squeezy bottle of ammonia glass solution.
- 9:51And now you won't get a payout from the Bubble Cafe for a
- 9:54little bit. That's.
- 9:55Fine, I walk outside with the stuff jingling in a bag.
- 9:59Well, retro all. Right, baby, do you remember?
- 10:04It's better work because it's coming out of my paycheck at the
- 10:08bubble cafe. If it doesn't, if it doesn't
- 10:11work, then then you can insult me later.
- 10:14Do you remember your time and being an intern, being able to
- 10:18remove solutions, you know, from other liquids, you know blood
- 10:24from plasma? Remember that and having to use
- 10:26that particular? I can't think of the name of the
- 10:28machine. Yes.
- 10:30Like a centrifuge? Yeah.
- 10:32So I'd like to try to re re rig the blender, dulling the blades
- 10:38so that way they're not in a chopping motion anymore.
- 10:41Kind of make it as a centrifuge. Cool.
- 10:43Jerry rigged it. Oh, I I like where you're going
- 10:46with this. That's really clever.
- 10:48I was kind of smart like you. I wrote a 13.
- 10:53I'm smart like Chad. We all have our.
- 10:55Strengths. Wait, no, that's really low.
- 10:59Oh. Yeah.
- 11:02Retro. You rolled a crip fail.
- 11:05You do dull the blades, but you've also cut the very little
- 11:08bit of flesh that you have and you lose.
- 11:11I'm going to use my new D63 HP. It's all right, the rage.
- 11:19The rage dulls the pain. Bibi, go ahead.
- 11:22I need you to start separating the ammonia.
- 11:26The more pure we can get the ammonia, the better.
- 11:28Please. OK, start pouring it in.
- 11:32I don't know. I don't know when you're going
- 11:33to be able to tell me when we can get those particular algaes,
- 11:36but I need to get them ASAP. And also, is there any way we
- 11:39can get ourselves some rain gear?
- 11:41Rain. I mean, you've got a punch,
- 11:43Hell. I do, yes.
- 11:44Does anybody else? VV roll perception.
- 11:48I got. Yeah.
- 11:52Jeb, I know you're I know you're going through a hard time.
- 11:55I'm going to go in and I'm going to give a Big Bear hug to Jeb
- 11:58using more strength and I feel like I should be using because I
- 12:01still haven't really gotten used to my graft muscles yet.
- 12:05I was going to whisper in your Jeff, I need you to pull
- 12:07yourself together. If you really do not get
- 12:09together, we're not going to be able to get Vanna White back in
- 12:11one piece. All right, so I need you to do
- 12:12me this favor. You're the only one who can do
- 12:14this right now. I need you to get Sloan to find
- 12:16that area and figure out where the fire suppression system is.
- 12:20If it's going to be in an auto shop, there's going to be some
- 12:22kind of sprinkler system in case there's a fire.
- 12:24All right so Sloan needs to go and find out what that is.
- 12:27Then I need you to figure out once we there's concussion to
- 12:30put it in there and you're the stealthiest of us, all right?
- 12:32So you are probably one part of the most important part of this
- 12:35whole goddamn thing to get set off.
- 12:37You got me. Yeah, but and if you don't?
- 12:39Stop crying. You're not.
- 12:40Going to be a lot less stealthy if I'm crying.
- 12:44So you need to stop crying. Send to be stealthy.
- 12:47All right? OK, You can cry once you're a
- 12:51fan of white. I'll let you cry as hard as you
- 12:53want once we get it. Well, perception.
- 12:57Well, just save all those feelings.
- 13:01In the vending machine you see it has Bubble Cafe branded
- 13:04ponchos and a Can of shine is on sale.
- 13:09Where's the? Where's the?
- 13:10Cake come back right right here. Oh lol.
- 13:16Lol S. Oh, oh wait, amazing.
- 13:21Is that shine? Oh, that's exactly what I
- 13:23needed. Oh.
- 13:25Yes, it's all the pain with alcohol.
- 13:27Oh. Wow, shit.
- 13:29By all, Yeah, yeah, there are two cans that they're 15 each,
- 13:32so 30%. OK, how much are the Padres?
- 13:34They are 10 each. OK, so that's the 60 altogether?
- 13:39Do I not get one? Oh, is there only three?
- 13:41There's no more. No, no, you said can, can.
- 13:43Would it be 70 if you bought me one?
- 13:45Oh, I thought it only three. Yeah, I'm 70.
- 13:50Yeah, everybody gets 1. Yay.
- 13:51Wait, it's so high, right? You're drunk.
- 13:54You're not coming with us. Oh, OK.
- 13:57I rounded the thing. It'll be here.
- 14:00They only charged us 540 eddies. Iona.
- 14:04Oh. Geez.
- 14:04All right. Thank you.
- 14:06I rolled badly, so it costs money.
- 14:09Everything at Night City is just getting more and more expensive.
- 14:11I gotta say it's. Almost like it's reactive to how
- 14:13much money you earned. Weird.
- 14:16It's inflation. While Fresh is standing there
- 14:20sipping on another drink, a drone falls down and it delivers
- 14:252 tanks and they are a liter each of concentrate.
- 14:30Here you are retro. I have New York Algies.
- 14:35Cool. I pour an eighth of each of them
- 14:38out into the street. Cool.
- 14:40Why are you doing that? You owe me $540 minus the 20
- 14:45that you just spent on Glendale than I.
- 14:47I want you to think about this, Iona.
- 14:49I'm going to need to mix stuff in there.
- 14:50If it's already full, there's nothing.
- 14:52There's nowhere for it to go. So you should have asked for a a
- 14:56less amount. Believe me, this is going to be
- 14:59enough. I'll tell you what, I will give
- 15:01you the recipe for this afterwards, and you can give it
- 15:03to your bosses for a fucking bioweapon.
- 15:05How about that? All right, little new wow.
- 15:12BB How are we doing with the ammonia?
- 15:15It looks like it's blending. Roll a medical check.
- 15:22To. See if you've done this.
- 15:23Well, the perception check was to check the vending machine.
- 15:26You saw nothing, Jeb did. OK, where is my?
- 15:33Yeah. You separate it and it, you know
- 15:35those toys that have oil in them and you can move the things
- 15:38around by pushing the little puffers.
- 15:40Yes. Yes.
- 15:43Very. Specific memory.
- 15:46Oh yeah, yeah, there's an. Old kid games are filled with
- 15:49water. There's often oil in those.
- 15:50And now because of the iron filings that came off the blade
- 15:55that retro broke, there is a layer of iron filings at the
- 15:59bottom which has kind of absorbed a bit of the ammonia,
- 16:01which will give a -, 1 to the result of this device.
- 16:05But you have managed to separate the chemicals and not cause any
- 16:09other errors. So there'll be a little bit of
- 16:11iron in this ship. I hold it up to retro, looks
- 16:15like it's separated all. Right, I pour out the water and
- 16:20just leaving the ammonia. Who has to go pee?
- 16:25This isn't a joke. You like to pee?
- 16:28I I should probably pee, maybe like take a look in the mirror
- 16:31for a bit and take, you know, figure out what my whole.
- 16:34Deal is sipping his 7th drink. Those very good blink blinking
- 16:42sounds. OK.
- 16:46Do we have any more? Do we have?
- 16:47Any more? Do you need some fresh pee from
- 16:50fresh pee? I'm drunk.
- 16:52Yes, yes, actually what fresh pee finish your finish your
- 16:57drink. Finish all of it now down it
- 16:59like now drink it. This has got a.
- 17:01Lot of drugs in it. I'm like.
- 17:02Faint Jug, jug, jug. Oh, not often I make a deep
- 17:11noise. Holy shit.
- 17:13I take. The cup from fresh pee, I wipe
- 17:16it out as as clean as I can I. Mean I I would like some
- 17:20privacy. Thank you.
- 17:22I pour a little bit of the solution inside there just so
- 17:25then that way I can try to get any other residuals off and then
- 17:30it should just have ammonia and with whatever you have leftover
- 17:33with in there. All right, fill that up.
- 17:36Should. I smell it afterwards.
- 17:38No. OK.
- 17:40Let's not be weird about this, I.
- 17:42Mean Is it dangerous to smell property?
- 17:47Buggers off to the porta potty. He'll be back in a minute.
- 17:51All right, who who out of The Who out of us has the best
- 17:55control in pouring? I feel like it's BB because I.
- 17:59Was going to say I have a pretty good hand.
- 18:03You know, I don't do surgery that much, but I think I can do
- 18:07it. I mean, I imagine pouring is
- 18:10probably, you know, directly associated with the Dexterity
- 18:16stat, in which case I'm all right.
- 18:21It's a good point. All right, Job, I'm going to
- 18:24give you the bag of sugar. I want you to pour with me on
- 18:27this, OK? You're going to pour to the
- 18:30count of five and stop, OK, With the bag this size, which is
- 18:36about a pound, that should be roughly about six of the 64
- 18:42ounces that are in there ready. Yeah, I think I can do a roll
- 18:49for it. Here we go.
- 18:51I mean, this only makes sense that it's a stale throw.
- 18:53Oh. Sure, I believe it.
- 18:58Oh. You do shit today you rolled a
- 19:02crit. Fail and you only managed to
- 19:05pour four of the six units that you need to put in there and
- 19:10pulling the rest all over the ground.
- 19:12What do they want, right? Oh, Jesus failed.
- 19:15OK, all right, all right. Hi retro piss.
- 19:22I also pissed on my shoes. I need new shoes.
- 19:24Cool. Hold that for a second.
- 19:26I'm going to take the ammonia that we already had.
- 19:29I'm going to pour that into the rest of that tank.
- 19:32For the first one, we're going to go to the second tank.
- 19:35Jeb, try again. Please don't spill any.
- 19:39This will be the rest of what we need to have for this, because
- 19:41this will be the dinoflagellate and it needs more sugar.
- 19:44Give me that. Give me your pee here.
- 19:45You go. It's hot, sorry.
- 19:47It's hot, sorry. It is unusually it is unusually
- 19:51warm. I did a lot of dancing.
- 19:55I hear that. Look.
- 19:55I'm sweating. Nice job, please pour that in so
- 20:00I don't have to keep holding this extremely hot cup of piss.
- 20:03Hey Spoon, Spoon, you wrote a crit success.
- 20:08Give me give me a go right here. Good shit.
- 20:11OK, OK. Do this for VANA.
- 20:14It was for VANA. Why?
- 20:16You got this. 12345. And done.
- 20:23Oh shoot, I did it. Good work job and I'm going to
- 20:26pour the rest of this piss, which is ammonia, into the tank.
- 20:32Well, I can't imagine. I mean, piss is more than just
- 20:35ammonia. Right, it's the closest.
- 20:37Thing about all the drugs that have been done.
- 20:40Oh yeah, that's awesome. Weird shit.
- 20:42Well, I don't know what's going to happen, but we'll see what
- 20:44ends up happening because no one else apparently needed to take a
- 20:46piss. No one else drank as many
- 20:49liquids as. I'm not letting you.
- 20:51I'm also not letting you have my pee.
- 20:53Thank you though. That's.
- 20:54Valid. That feels like a very Iona to
- 20:56me. I will cap them off, grabbing
- 20:59both, both in, one in each arm and just shake back in a
- 21:03rhythmic motion. OK.
- 21:06I'll start heading over there as we go there does does anybody
- 21:12have any kind of like paint? I know I got, I got duct tape on
- 21:16me. I always got duct tape.
- 21:17Anybody else have any kind of like crafty stuff?
- 21:21So as you're walking through the city, you're heading South
- 21:23towards the combat zone. Vendel comes up beside you after
- 21:27you say that. Retro Don't you have two paint
- 21:30cans and a paint gun? Yeah, that was Invana White,
- 21:33though. Oh.
- 21:34Shit. Oh, maybe we can find some on
- 21:37the way. Maybe.
- 21:38Could. Probably stop it I'm.
- 21:41I'm I'm pretty crafty. How crafty am I, Iona?
- 21:44I would say you're very crafty. Oh.
- 21:47Well, if Iona says I'm very crafty, then I'm probably very
- 21:49crafty. OK, Wendell, you are.
- 21:53It's been important to do this next piece.
- 21:55Yay, I like being important. Please particular ponchos I need
- 22:01you to take. Here's here's my 2 rolls of duct
- 22:03tape that I keep on me at all times.
- 22:05And here's a Sharpie, because I also have that on me at all
- 22:08times. Attracts.
- 22:10I need you to make these look as gang like but as apocalyptic as
- 22:16possible. Guys, I think Retro has a plan.
- 22:20Where are you going with this? Retro's cooking.
- 22:25We all asked the same question, but in different ways.
- 22:30What the hell are you thinking? And Bendel starts to be crafty.
- 22:38Iona, can you roll for that please?
- 22:41Sure can. Are you asking what my plan is?
- 22:46I mean. Yeah.
- 22:50Pretty curious. Well, let's let Iona go 1st and.
- 22:55Then I'm I'm going to roll concentration for this.
- 22:58Sounds good. Vendel is looking at the
- 23:01graffiti on the street and doing their best to mimic.
- 23:05Nice, I like that. Thirteen.
- 23:08Yes, it is a mediocre job, but as long as nobody looks at it
- 23:12too carefully, nobody will notice.
- 23:15That is above mid. Above mid.
- 23:18Woo. That's all we can ever ask.
- 23:23It is. It is literally an everyday task
- 23:25to make something look dirty and St. ish and 13 is an everyday
- 23:30task according to my list. So I'll tell you exactly what
- 23:34the plan is with blue algae and dinoflagellate.
- 23:38They are both the main cause of something called red tide.
- 23:44I'm sure you all know of Red Tide.
- 23:45I've heard of it. But maybe, maybe explain it for
- 23:50Jeb. Yeah, that's right.
- 23:52Yes, for Jeb. Yes.
- 23:54Wait, because Jeb's the only one who doesn't know what that is.
- 23:57Isn't that right, guys? Yes.
- 23:59OK for Jeb, so red tide is part of a harmful algae balloon,
- 24:08which usually happens when you introduce quite a few
- 24:11interesting chemicals to the next, usually of pollutants such
- 24:14that of sugar, ammonia, nitrous, such like that.
- 24:20We know that they've taken the vehicle probably to a chop shop.
- 24:23That chop shop is going to need to have a water system in case
- 24:27there's a fire, because they're going to they're going to.
- 24:29They're going to need to use a shop that already has tools.
- 24:32Set it up in there, distract them, get them all in one place
- 24:35so that way that they can all get wet.
- 24:37Set it off within minutes. The bacteria algae will cause
- 24:43severe cytotoxin. Sodium.
- 24:48What was it back in school? Sodium channel blocking to them
- 24:52causing their nervous systems to immediately shut down.
- 24:56Interrupts possibly going within spasms.
- 24:59Same thing. BB might know if they've ever
- 25:01had to deal with anybody that's have 8 fungal fish or bad
- 25:04oysters. It's happened a couple times.
- 25:06It's really fucked, Retro. Yeah, if we were the ponchos, we
- 25:09should be OK. So I've, I understood everything
- 25:14you just said, but if, you know, I were to explain that, Sloan,
- 25:19what, what, what would you say? You get wet.
- 25:22The harmful bacteria I have in here causes your nervous system
- 25:24to shut down. You spasm.
- 25:26You spit your guts out. You die.
- 25:27So if you're wet, you die. Yeah, if you've ever seen that
- 25:31old, that old movie they had back in the day with that guy
- 25:36with a fireball for a head, Nicolas Cage, he did a movie
- 25:39with Scott guy where there was this little green marble that
- 25:44could cause everybody to to go into the same kind of effect.
- 25:50Rock. He's made an IO weapon.
- 25:54Is that where you came up with this idea?
- 25:56Because this is very oddly specific retro.
- 25:59How did you come up with this idea?
- 26:01I've had it for a while. That's messed up.
- 26:03Interesting. So just to be clear, don't get
- 26:07wet that's. What the ponchos are for?
- 26:09And you turn the corner as as Jeff says this, and you're
- 26:13facing down the street and in front of you, there's trash bags
- 26:16everywhere. There's crates on the side of
- 26:17the road. You've got to a really dirty
- 26:19part of town. And there, in the middle of the
- 26:21road, is a woman lying on the ground.
- 26:30Help. Help me help.
- 26:34Me roll up. This is I, I mom arm and I I put
- 26:37my arm out in front of everyone. Help me hold hold.
- 26:42Don't look oddly suspicious. Yeah folks, welcome to dungeons
- 26:56and randomness. Since 2012 myself and an amazing
- 26:59cast of 18 have been telling stories in our home brewed world
- 27:03of Theria. 4 different groups explore lost ruins, run for
- 27:07political office, Rage Against a mad king, set sail to long
- 27:11forgotten islands, and so much more.
- 27:14Every group has a different story and flavor, and every
- 27:17season or Ark has a new set of groups and stories, all building
- 27:21the history of our world with every single session.
- 27:25Literally hundreds of hours of stories are waiting for you as
- 27:28part of the Pickaxe network. Check out Dungeons and
- 27:31Randomness wherever you get your podcasts and we'll see you
- 27:34around the table. Oh.
- 27:42Gosh, I'm going to roll a human perception, but also a.
- 27:46Person in need, I must help them, no?
- 27:49Really. No.
- 27:50No. Hold on, where's human
- 27:58perception? 18 Iona, I'm going to roll
- 28:03something first. That's five.
- 28:07This stinks of lies of. Flies.
- 28:11Lies. Oh.
- 28:15I mean, the street does stink of flies, but that's not involved
- 28:20in this particular perception. You are SUS, Iona.
- 28:23You are SUS. Get up.
- 28:25Oh, but I can't. They.
- 28:27Rock hit me and beat. Me up.
- 28:29Oh, get up. I can't hear you.
- 28:33You're so far away. Won't you come help me?
- 28:36I draw my gun. Hey, Jeb, if you just put a
- 28:39bullet in them, that could just solve all their life problems
- 28:41right now. Wait.
- 28:43No, it certainly would. It would end any problems you
- 28:48had. See, we could do that for you.
- 28:50How about that? Yeah, so I've drawn, I've drawn
- 28:54my gun. They're about. 100 feet in front
- 28:57of you. Great.
- 28:58I'm going to slowly walk towards them, but also I'm going to roll
- 29:01another perception for the area to see if there's anybody hiding
- 29:06out in these trash bags. Mart. 17 you see a trash bag on
- 29:13your right? I'm pinging it right now.
- 29:15I see it. I see it.
- 29:16See it shuffle? I see.
- 29:19It Are we going over there? So I do the the thing with my
- 29:25gun where I I look at back at Jeb and then I motion towards
- 29:29that bag and I'm actually going to walk to the north towards the
- 29:34other trash bags. OK, so, so Jeb, I've pointed you
- 29:38towards the South trash bags. Oh, and just to be clear, you
- 29:41want me to go over there and check it out?
- 29:44There's someone over there. OK, no, that's fine.
- 29:47I'll go. I'll go take a look.
- 29:48No, it's fine. The the the the depressed man
- 29:52will go. I'll go near the trash.
- 29:58It's dirty. I've been fine.
- 29:59I'm I'm headed over so I'll take a look.
- 30:03Jab Raw Perception 21 There is a guy hiding behind the trash bag.
- 30:12Oh wow, no one ever saw that coming.
- 30:18Would you like me to go to one of the other trash?
- 30:21Is there another trash? Role perception.
- 30:23There's there's two more to the north and there's one more to
- 30:26the South visually, but for people I don't know. 22 yes,
- 30:34even that's very high. You see from where you are that
- 30:38there is a guy hiding pretty well to be honest, behind those
- 30:43trash cans just up here to the north of the street.
- 30:46I point in that direction and that way Iona.
- 30:51Oh oh good. Nothing in the trash bags guys
- 30:53help? I'm.
- 31:00Going to kick the trash bag do. It.
- 31:05Kick, kick. Kick rolling, brawling.
- 31:08Oh, no, it's more of like a, like a, you know, like like
- 31:11we're kicking tires, you know? I'm going to roll that is a
- 31:16four. Oh, I mean trash noise.
- 31:22All right, the jig is up. We know you're here.
- 31:27We can't. We never even.
- 31:28What do you do as you say that? Vivi also draws her weapon at
- 31:35the person in the street. We know there are others.
- 31:41And this big dude comes out. I guess you saw through our
- 31:45little trap. He was dumb enough to walk
- 31:48through the night of the city, man.
- 31:51And there's this bogged up dude holding an air pistol in his
- 31:54hand. Motherfucker, I swear we need to
- 31:58hire better acting students. This one's fucking bad.
- 32:01Hey man, I. Studied.
- 32:04I read over the script like at least twice.
- 32:07Fucking useless marker. What?
- 32:10Oh shit. Actually, that one.
- 32:13Started to. Make a move towards them.
- 32:15I'm going to pop a shot off Who? Who's making a move towards this
- 32:19acting student? One of the gangers who've come
- 32:23out of the north part of this ambush has walked into the
- 32:27middle of the street to shoot this person in the head.
- 32:31Oh well, how about not? Don't do that.
- 32:36Didn't do well on damage, but it's still pretty good.
- 32:38You rolled A-17. What are you doing with the
- 32:40shot? Are you trying to hurt them or
- 32:41stop them in their tracks? Stop them.
- 32:44OK. So you're shooting at them or
- 32:45like at their feet? At them if I if I hit a
- 32:49maelstrom that I'm not sad about it.
- 32:51OK, cool. And you are I.
- 32:55Think I'm pretty far away actually.
- 32:57For about 40 feet. So you do miss, but the bullet
- 33:01flies past this guy and he stops as he pulls his gun out.
- 33:05Hey, wait, wait. Hey.
- 33:09Don't copy me. Dick what?
- 33:12What is your plan here guys? Told me to kill the actor.
- 33:18All right, well. Do you?
- 33:20Always do exactly what you're told.
- 33:21Yeah, exactly that. Acting isn't a crime.
- 33:26They have to. Do what I say.
- 33:27Who are you? A bad boy?
- 33:31Oh, good. Good name.
- 33:35Yeah. You feel good about that.
- 33:36Does it? Does it make you feel proud of
- 33:38yourself? Yeah, it does.
- 33:41Yeah, it. Doesn't.
- 33:42And I identify as boy, so fuck, it's not very good.
- 33:47It doesn't matter, it's what I got.
- 33:50Actor, you better start running and get out of here before they
- 33:53take a shot on you. I'm.
- 33:55Going to run for it. Really.
- 33:56You just let me go. Yeah, just get out of here.
- 33:59Oh, shit. Or you'll become collateral.
- 34:01Oh. Shit 17 Yeah, yeah, they make it
- 34:03out, they get up, they're fine. You know, they weren't the best
- 34:09actor, but I still hope they get their credit for getting into
- 34:11the union. The the only thing you notice as
- 34:15they get up is as they were lying down, they looked really
- 34:18hurt. The physical part of their
- 34:19acting was really good, but now that they're up, they look like
- 34:21they're at full health and they run away.
- 34:24Well, just remember, well, you know, I, I found that whenever I
- 34:28have to get have to get into character, they're just taking a
- 34:30moment and thinking about, you know, what my desires or whether
- 34:35what my characters desires. See, I was a kid.
- 34:38Sometimes I can't differentiate between myself and my character.
- 34:42That's just, I guess that's just how good of an actor I am
- 34:44sometimes anyway. Well, they're gone now.
- 34:49Yeah, let's. I mean, traps.
- 34:51Traps been sprung. Nobody got hurt.
- 34:53Everybody's fine. We can just keep going, right?
- 34:55We're fine. Hey man, you're not getting
- 34:58through without at least a toll. A toll of what?
- 35:03Look, man, we've been, we've been trying to Merc this spot
- 35:07for a while. And just to be real with you,
- 35:10there are different groups of maelstrom fighting with each
- 35:12other and we just tried to Merc a bunch of fools driving in a
- 35:16fucking VW bus and it drove right on by.
- 35:19They threw something in that pile over there.
- 35:21We don't want any trouble. You're obviously really good at
- 35:24what you do, I guess. I mean, if you want a toll,
- 35:28look, I feel bad for you. Hey, Jeff, can you do me a
- 35:33favor? Would you mind go and find what?
- 35:35That everything they threw over there in the pile was for me.
- 35:40I'm. Going to talk with bad boy here.
- 35:43Hey, Bad Boy. Look, I feel bad.
- 35:45I I understand. You know, you're having to deal
- 35:47with other maelstrom that. Hey, check it out.
- 35:50I'll. I'll let you in on something.
- 35:53I've got some homemade dwarf. Yeah.
- 35:59See what I'm carrying right now? Oh, you're showing in the
- 36:01canisters. All right, cool.
- 36:02Yeah, Jenna. Doesn't look like any doors that
- 36:05I've seen before. It's because it's in a canister,
- 36:08stupid. Roll Persuasion.
- 36:12Persuasion. I don't think I'm good at
- 36:13persuasion. No, I know they rolled rolled
- 36:23A7. It's pretty good, but doesn't
- 36:26beat your persuasion of 20 with a.
- 36:30It was close though because they rolled an 18 according to the
- 36:33actual numbers I have so. That was close.
- 36:37Oh. Great.
- 36:39Yeah. Here you want to check.
- 36:42Drugs. I'll leave you alone.
- 36:45Well, yeah, but here, look, let's just check.
- 36:47Let's just check the purity real quick right here.
- 36:51And I close my air vents and I pop it open for him to take a
- 36:54look inside. OK.
- 36:57Oh me, where's the Queen? Yeah, take a sniff.
- 37:00It's dwarf, normally green. Hey Jeff, is dwarf normally
- 37:03green to Paris where you get it from boss?
- 37:08You can tell by having a good sniff of it.
- 37:11Dwarf's edible, right? Yeah.
- 37:13And he puts the bottle to his mouth, takes a big old swing.
- 37:21Fart that feels like why does it taste like pine salt?
- 37:28Hey Jeff, Yeah. Plus does dorf normally make
- 37:32your arm let a numb? And he drops the canister on the
- 37:35ground if you want to catch. No, no, no, no, I said.
- 37:37I said I'd went and took it back from him.
- 37:39Roll for it, it's in his hand. See if you'll see if he'll let
- 37:41it go. Make a jumping save.
- 37:46Athletics, yes you do. Inside roll the 10, which I
- 37:49don't. You do a good job, you grab it
- 37:51as he starts to stagger backwards.
- 37:54Vivi, are you staying behind? I think so, yes.
- 37:58This guy, he staggers backwards and starts to cough a lot.
- 38:05Good shit. Yeah, Yeah.
- 38:09I feel I feel like they're not good version of Lightheaded.
- 38:14Oh God. And he starts to profusely
- 38:18vomit. See, that's the good shit.
- 38:22See what's happening right now is the sodium, the sodium
- 38:26blockers inside your brain are starting to overload and get
- 38:30shut off from the plankton that's inside your head now.
- 38:33And. And he forced the ground to
- 38:36start the seas. Yeah, you've been a bad, bad
- 38:43boy. Guys are crazy.
- 38:49I'm just going to softly but firmly rest my boot on his
- 38:56Adam's apple. Fuck this guys.
- 39:01And they all start running away, except one guy stays because he
- 39:05will die. What?
- 39:07The fuck, man. Pretty cool stuff, huh?
- 39:10You want some. No, I do not.
- 39:13You fucking. I think you killed him.
- 39:15And he starts to, like, seize on the ground.
- 39:17BB, you notice this guy's gonna die unless he gets medical
- 39:19attention. You don't need to roll for that.
- 39:21You just know. I retro, do we just want to let
- 39:26this happen? Maybe I will not stop you from
- 39:29doing your bit for the oath that you've taken.
- 39:33I also would like to point out, and if the gentleman here
- 39:38decided to stay, would attach this.
- 39:41You have attacked other people and killed them, or at least had
- 39:45the plan in your head to do so, right?
- 39:49Do not tonight person. Some guys bike not like a motor
- 39:57like a bicycle. It's been it's been a quiet
- 39:59night. I think everyone was in the
- 40:01market and that van. Yeah.
- 40:05So VV, if you want to save them, I'll take my, I'll take my boot
- 40:09off their throat. If you want to save them, go
- 40:11ahead, but I'm not going to. VV runs over across the way.
- 40:19All right, I'll help you and and.
- 40:23He's looking at you with eyes of he can't speak.
- 40:27He is vomiting too much. Oh God, he he's going to
- 40:30asphyxiate if we don't help. And he's, he's now shaking
- 40:36violently. How do you want to save this
- 40:39guy? Good question.
- 40:42I would like to try to stabilize him with if I have some sort of.
- 40:50So I'm going to tell you what, you watched him take this stuff,
- 40:53right? So he ingested it.
- 40:56Now if you'd roll lower, you would have had to give him
- 40:58something to vacate that that poison from his body, but
- 41:02because you're all high enough, you can do it for free in pretty
- 41:06much any way you want because you're all high.
- 41:07So don't worry about cost for this.
- 41:09I grab one of my air hypos and pull out my medical bag and
- 41:14quickly administer some sort of antibiotic to neutralize this
- 41:22bacteria. And I just shove it in and OK.
- 41:28And I just try to like, turn him so that he'll stop like vomiting
- 41:31on himself. Yeah, you put him in the
- 41:33recovery position. Yeah, and the the syringe you
- 41:37use is called a Z attack. AZ attack.
- 41:42Yeah, it's a pun on Z pack. That's very funny.
- 41:44Very funny, yes? All right, you should be.
- 41:50You should be stable for now, just take it easy.
- 41:52And she Pats them on the shoulder.
- 41:53George. You guys are fucking.
- 41:55Crazy. And he starts to come too, and
- 41:57he crawls backwards away from you on the ground.
- 42:01What are you doing? I don't know.
- 42:02They gave you poison, what else kind of fucked up shit could
- 42:05they do? They're working with a cowboy
- 42:06and a guy with one leg. Day, thank you.
- 42:09Day with one leg. Hold on, wait a minute.
- 42:11Maybe we should protect ourselves a little bit more.
- 42:14Drop all your firearms. The guy on the ground or me?
- 42:18Both. All of you.
- 42:19Real persuasion. It's a good one.
- 42:21You have to quit. Fail for me not to.
- 42:22He drops his gun on the ground. It's a shitty pistol and.
- 42:26What about Chuck there? He has an air pistol.
- 42:29It's loaded with ACID rounds. Yeah, we'll take that too. 10 in
- 42:32it acid pistol with 10 rounds. It does not do damage.
- 42:35All it does is break down your armor very well.
- 42:38So every time someone gets hit removes 2 from your armor
- 42:41regardless of whether you make enough damage.
- 42:42All right, that's rules that's written by the way, I didn't
- 42:44make. That up?
- 42:45Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:47I just think it's cool. You know what, there might be a
- 42:50way to be able to make this up to us.
- 42:51I think Chuck and your buddy, you want to give us a hand.
- 42:55How do you know my name? The fuck?
- 42:56I'm wearing a name badge. Fuck.
- 42:58Oh no, sorry. I was talking to up Chuck down
- 43:00here. My name is Chuck.
- 43:02So Chuck and up Chuck. Cool.
- 43:03What's best? Oh yeah, no, sure, just do.
- 43:06Just do. We should just let them call us
- 43:08what we want. Fuck.
- 43:11You. Yeah, I got AI got a Primo idea
- 43:13for you. Oh, hey, Jeff, did you ever find
- 43:15out what was over there that got thrown out?
- 43:17Oh. Yeah, it was over the track.
- 43:20It was a tracker and not the, and it wasn't a person.
- 43:22It wasn't like a tracker who like, you know, and it wasn't
- 43:24like a person whose job it is to track things.
- 43:26It was just a. It was just a little.
- 43:29You find this little box and it says it has retros logo on the
- 43:32box. Although this might look
- 43:35familiar to you well. Yep, that does make more sense
- 43:40of why we're going to need these two.
- 43:41Now where? Where did the shitty van go?
- 43:44Well, we stopped them and then they hit Dave.
