- 0:02Speaker 1: Y'all know what time of y'all don't know y'all back
- 0:09Speaker 1: a suit, looking back to back down, giving them more
- 0:15Speaker 1: like a milking buck. Things in its cubbing, not doing
- 0:19Speaker 1: me true good it? Steve Hart to move to other student, Please,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I don't join joining you doing me. You gotta turn,
- 1:22Speaker 1: you gotta turn to turn them out. Turn, got to
- 1:43Speaker 1: turn them out. Then turn the water, the water go.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Come Come on your baby, got it? Uh huh, I
- 2:02Speaker 1: sure will. Good morning everybody you're listening to the voice,
- 2:06Speaker 1: Come on dig me now, one and only. Steve Harvin
- 2:09Speaker 1: Man old man, got a radio show. Yeah, I do.
- 2:12Speaker 1: God so big to me, man, I just have to
- 2:15Speaker 1: tell you about it. I can't help it. It's rather
- 2:18Speaker 1: obvious to me how big, how good God is. He's
- 2:23Speaker 1: absolutely tremendous. He's off the chain, you know, man, I
- 2:28Speaker 1: want to share something with you today. You know, if
- 2:31Speaker 1: you're out there, start your mission today? Why don't we
- 2:36Speaker 1: all decide together better yet? Let's just kill that because
- 2:41Speaker 1: you don't that just individually. Look you listening, everybody's got
- 2:46Speaker 1: something that's that's on the table that they haven't yet
- 2:49Speaker 1: attacked yet. What are you waiting for? Start your mission? Today.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Stop the procrastination now. And if you and if you
- 2:58Speaker 1: allow practical excuse men, if you allow procrastination to set in,
- 3:03Speaker 1: then that that allows then which is a weakness, you know,
- 3:08Speaker 1: but that allows the devil then to just really do
- 3:11Speaker 1: his thing, because an idle mind is the devil's playground.
- 3:15Speaker 1: So if you ain't working on your goal's, dreams, aspirations
- 3:17Speaker 1: or visions, you you just waking up seeing how today
- 3:21Speaker 1: gonna go. Or the devil he got plenty for it
- 3:23Speaker 1: for you to do. See. But if you get your
- 3:26Speaker 1: mind right on your goal and your focus and your purpose,
- 3:29Speaker 1: then you can go on about your business. Then when
- 3:31Speaker 1: the distraction comes, you can catch yourself. Now, that don't
- 3:35Speaker 1: mean you ain't gonna fall privy or fall prey to
- 3:37Speaker 1: some of your distractions, because you will, but you will
- 3:41Speaker 1: have a goal in mind, an aspiration that makes you go.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Hold on, man, I got to stay focused here because
- 3:46Speaker 1: what I really want while I'm really trying to go
- 3:49Speaker 1: the thing that I'm really after, this new little thing
- 3:53Speaker 1: that's being introduced, this don't fit into the equation. Man,
- 3:57Speaker 1: Let me keep it moving, or you may step off
- 4:00Speaker 1: the line for a little while, you know, Like I said,
- 4:02Speaker 1: yesterday you think about God, is he's so forgiving that
- 4:05Speaker 1: if you get out of line, he'll hold your place.
- 4:07Speaker 1: See that's the real cool thing. A lot of people
- 4:09Speaker 1: to do that for you too. Like I said, if
- 4:11Speaker 1: you're the movie theater or you're an amusement park and
- 4:13Speaker 1: you're in the line and you forget something, if you
- 4:15Speaker 1: politely ask the person behind you, hey, man, I gotta
- 4:18Speaker 1: run to my car left something, would you hold my place?
- 4:21Speaker 1: Most people say, fine, you gotta go ahead, and when
- 4:23Speaker 1: you come back, they don't have a problem. See your
- 4:25Speaker 1: problem is is you want to get out the line,
- 4:27Speaker 1: go do something, then come back and just get up
- 4:30Speaker 1: in the line further up than you were, or cut somebody.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Now you got a problem because see everybody looking at
- 4:35Speaker 1: you now, like Roy Wall partner, where you come from.
- 4:38Speaker 1: You know the line start back here. But see the
- 4:41Speaker 1: thing with God is God don't do that. God don't
- 4:43Speaker 1: say the line start back here. God holds your place.
- 4:47Speaker 1: When you make a mistake and you fall off the line,
- 4:50Speaker 1: God hold your place. But if you ain't got no dreams, aspiration,
- 4:54Speaker 1: if you ain't got no place, what he holding for you? See,
- 4:57Speaker 1: I mean he got a place for you, But you
- 5:00Speaker 1: gotta come to it. See some people if well, here's
- 5:04Speaker 1: what I'm saying. If you got a goal or aspiration,
- 5:07Speaker 1: a dream and you fall off track momentarily, you can
- 5:11Speaker 1: get back to that because God knows where you're left off.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Now you may have to accomplish a few more things
- 5:18Speaker 1: since you stop for a long period of time, but
- 5:20Speaker 1: God know where you left off. You can get back
- 5:22Speaker 1: on track. I look, man, this dream of being on
- 5:25Speaker 1: TV since I was a kid, and it got off track.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Now it got off track. I just kept it as
- 5:32Speaker 1: one of the dreams. And in some real dog moments
- 5:35Speaker 1: when it looked like it wasn't gonna happen, all I
- 5:39Speaker 1: was hanging on to was just a hope that one
- 5:41Speaker 1: day it could. But that's what faith is really about.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Faith is the belief in things that you cannot see.
- 5:49Speaker 1: But faith gives you the confidence to keep hoping. Man,
- 5:53Speaker 1: Sometimes it just keep hope alive. Sometimes you heard Jesse
- 5:57Speaker 1: Jackson said, just keep hope alive. Sometimes, man, it's just
- 6:00Speaker 1: the hope. I was hanging on a hope. And I'm
- 6:05Speaker 1: talking about when it got real ugly and funky out
- 6:08Speaker 1: there for me, when it looked like I wasn't gonna
- 6:10Speaker 1: ever make it, And all of the facts was in
- 6:14Speaker 1: and everything pointed in the direction you're not gonna make it.
- 6:17Speaker 1: You didn't really messed up this time. Then I sat
- 6:20Speaker 1: there and I just hung on to the hope. But man,
- 6:25Speaker 1: that's what I'm saying. If you got a dream on
- 6:27Speaker 1: aspiration of vision or something, when you fall off track
- 6:31Speaker 1: and you want to go get back in line, God
- 6:34Speaker 1: holds your place. He knew I was off tracking how
- 6:37Speaker 1: the line, but he said, okay, here's where we stopped.
- 6:40Speaker 1: You want to be on TV that when you get
- 6:42Speaker 1: it together and you quit tripping and you come in
- 6:44Speaker 1: your turn to me, I'm gonna hold your place, put
- 6:47Speaker 1: you back in line. Then we're gonna finish your journey.
- 6:49Speaker 1: That took me a lot longer to get here than
- 6:51Speaker 1: I wanted to, but then it was necessary because I
- 6:54Speaker 1: needed all of the mishaps to happen to me along
- 6:56Speaker 1: the way. So when I got on the radio one day,
- 6:59Speaker 1: which I did not see coming, Steve Harvey got a
- 7:01Speaker 1: radio show, y'all. That's why I said every day, see
- 7:04Speaker 1: because of this radio show that I didn't see coming.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Now I have stories to tell, and I can tell
- 7:10Speaker 1: you about me better than I can tell you about anybody.
- 7:13Speaker 1: And I haven't been through enough whereas relatable, where enough
- 7:17Speaker 1: people can go. Man, that happened to me. Appreciate you
- 7:20Speaker 1: saying that that's what it was for. See, I get
- 7:22Speaker 1: it now. See at the time, though I didn't like
- 7:25Speaker 1: what was happening to me. At the time, I was
- 7:28Speaker 1: really in total disagreement with God on a lot of
- 7:31Speaker 1: stuff he was pulling off on me. But in essence
- 7:33Speaker 1: I was really pulling it off on myself. But through
- 7:37Speaker 1: his grace and mercy, he kept me through all of
- 7:39Speaker 1: my mistakes, all my bad decisions, all my miscalculations, all
- 7:44Speaker 1: my misfires, all the times I knowingly stepped out there
- 7:49Speaker 1: and did wrong. He forgave me. He said, because man,
- 7:53Speaker 1: if you ever come to me, I have a plan
- 7:56Speaker 1: for you that it is going to be far and above.
- 8:00Speaker 1: It will supersede everything you've ever dreamed of. That's what
- 8:04Speaker 1: I did. I just got sick on me, good and
- 8:07Speaker 1: sick of me, and I turned it over to God.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And then God started working. And here I am today
- 8:14Speaker 1: now see threw it me yet? Nope? Have I arrived yet? Nope?
- 8:19Speaker 1: But guess what the journey is? Cool? And then you
- 8:23Speaker 1: know what I found out. That's kind of what it's
- 8:25Speaker 1: like in life. If you don't walked off the cliff
- 8:28Speaker 1: in life, and you ain't got no God in your life,
- 8:32Speaker 1: it's like not having a parachute. You step off the
- 8:36Speaker 1: cliff and you just free falling. We all now that
- 8:40Speaker 1: fall gets you closer to the grave, right see, we
- 8:42Speaker 1: all heading to the grave from the moment we're born.
- 8:45Speaker 1: But the cool thing about a relationship with God is
- 8:47Speaker 1: when you step off the cliff and you got God
- 8:50Speaker 1: here a parachute. You're still going down, but it's a
- 8:54Speaker 1: nice ride. You guide and you're glad, and you're softly,
- 8:58Speaker 1: you enjoying your look around, smiling. You're meeting other people
- 9:01Speaker 1: along the way. You're floating over here to skie a
- 9:05Speaker 1: little while. You over there at the beach for a
- 9:07Speaker 1: little while, you mess around over here, you get to
- 9:10Speaker 1: go out the country a little bit on your parachuting
- 9:12Speaker 1: all here, and God just helps your your descent appear
- 9:16Speaker 1: more like a rise and then more like a uphoric fall.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Instead of not having no God in your life and
- 9:23Speaker 1: you just walking off that cliff every day free falling.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Ain't got no core, you steady pulling, you hauling the
- 9:30Speaker 1: whole way because you mess around with yourself and ain't
- 9:33Speaker 1: let God come into your life and provide a parachute
- 9:36Speaker 1: for you. I would rather have a parachute since I
- 9:40Speaker 1: got to jump every day, than to not have one.
- 9:43Speaker 1: God has been like a parachute from me. Ask me
- 9:47Speaker 1: why where that came from? I can't tell you, But
- 9:50Speaker 1: like I always say, most good things that happened in
- 9:53Speaker 1: my life that I can't explain, it's usually him. You're listening,
- 10:14Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, uh man, have your attention please, um.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I'm talking to everyone who has ever ever in your
- 10:25Speaker 1: life wanted to be happy or has ever in your
- 10:30Speaker 1: life wanted to smile. I'm only talking to those two groups.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Let me have your undivided attention. We fin to make
- 10:40Speaker 1: you happy and we're fin to make you smile. Damn it.

- 16:59Speaker 1: you guys to be careful when you start announcing people.
- 17:02Speaker 1: You write some off quicker than I know. You know,
- 17:05Speaker 1: that's why it was very careful. Then you know you're
- 17:08Speaker 1: scared me for a minute, scared you know anyway, just
- 17:15Speaker 1: thought that remind you, oh my goodness, and what you're
- 17:18Speaker 1: talking about for me? For junior She's the one said,
- 17:22Speaker 1: who are you looking for in the uh? In the
- 17:25Speaker 1: presidential race? You know, I don't know who's gonna win
- 17:29Speaker 1: this thing? You mean for the Democrats, Yes, for the Democrats.
- 17:32Speaker 1: You know, I'm so confused. I want to believe in
- 17:35Speaker 1: some of them. I like Corey Corey book you know,
- 17:40Speaker 1: but I don't know what he gonna do because he
- 17:43Speaker 1: just looked just a wide eye, just a crazy at sometime.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Core Booker, ha his eyes, his eyes just be just
- 17:50Speaker 1: as big. I think he's fitting to do something. You
- 17:55Speaker 1: scared me. Sometimes I look at Corey Booker, I say,
- 17:58Speaker 1: Lord Jesus, you give him a butcher. And if we
- 18:00Speaker 1: all being there's something wrong with all of them, you
- 18:06Speaker 1: know what I mean? Just go down to listen. I
- 18:07Speaker 1: call their names out, okay, Uh, Joe Biden, Joe Biden.
- 18:12Speaker 1: He can talk good for about thirty minutes. Then after that,
- 18:16Speaker 1: Joe just starts slipping Bernie him. I know, I knew
- 18:22Speaker 1: it was batter. Oh, Bentley briden By, Yeah, Brentley Biden,
- 18:31Speaker 1: I knew him. And then who else is running? Lena say,
- 18:34Speaker 1: Bernie Sanders, Bernie Sanders, you know I already no, I'm
- 18:38Speaker 1: scared to vote from him, called were the same age?
- 18:41Speaker 1: Oh you told us your age, Well I'm one hundred
- 18:46Speaker 1: and eleven. Quite bad. You don't think you don't think seventies.
- 18:54Speaker 1: I can't a close look anybody else there at older
- 19:00Speaker 1: than Bernie? No, no, no, thank you. Who else she's running?
- 19:04Speaker 1: Kamala Harris? You know I like her. You know, she's jazzy.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I kind of likes camels, you know, you know I
- 19:12Speaker 1: kind of like her now, you know, really empowerment. Yeah, yeah,
- 19:16Speaker 1: who's really going up in the polls is Senator Elizabeth Warren.
- 19:20Speaker 1: She's getting a lot of momentum behind her. She is, Yes, yes,
- 19:24Speaker 1: she's moving up. She had a rally in New York
- 19:27Speaker 1: and all that. Yeah. I don't care another woman. I
- 19:31Speaker 1: don't care for her. Yeah, we was dating the same
- 19:34Speaker 1: man was upon the time? Oh was that not a
- 19:38Speaker 1: boom beef? Yeah? Exactly what this is? A boot beef?
- 19:43Speaker 1: Really sick or huh? If I thought I wasn't gonna
- 19:50Speaker 1: recognize it, gonna cut her hair short? I remember when
- 19:53Speaker 1: I had it on him. Well, sister Dell, if she
- 19:56Speaker 1: becomes a Democratic nominee, don't let that stand in the
- 19:59Speaker 1: way your vote. If you think I'm vote for somebody
- 20:02Speaker 1: to slept with the same man I slept with. You
- 20:04Speaker 1: got the wrong voter. I tell you that right now.
- 20:07Speaker 1: This ain't trick or treat. This ain't trick or treat
- 20:11Speaker 1: tweeting you. You must asked about somebody about me. But
- 20:16Speaker 1: we're not fitting to do this. You're not fit to
- 20:18Speaker 1: sleep with my man and then get a vote for me. Yeah,
- 20:23Speaker 1: I'm matter fact, I'm gonna try to find out what
- 20:25Speaker 1: poles she going to she get the nomination. Oh my god, Yeah,
- 20:28Speaker 1: she gonna enough to come with curtain and surprise. I'm
- 20:31Speaker 1: gonna be back then vote for this, get this cane
- 20:35Speaker 1: and yeah, all right, cinter Dell. I ain't never forgave
- 20:42Speaker 1: her for that. She's gonna try to cut her hat
- 20:44Speaker 1: off like I don't recognize. Well, she's got a plan
- 20:47Speaker 1: for that. I bet you got a plan for what
- 20:51Speaker 1: for me to get your vote? Yeah, she better step
- 20:54Speaker 1: off coming up next, thank you, since she don't know
- 20:57Speaker 1: who she playing with. The nephew is coming up with.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Run that brain back right something for me. I want
- 21:03Speaker 1: to see it. A plan for everything you're listening to
- 21:07Speaker 1: show coming up at the top of the hour and
- 21:26Speaker 1: Entertainment news, we're sending up prayers of healing for Jeopardy
- 21:30Speaker 1: host Alex Trebecca. He revealed that he is a setback
- 21:33Speaker 1: in his fight for pancreatic cancer. We'll talk about that,
- 21:38Speaker 1: plus some trending news. We'll tell you about a Texas
- 21:40Speaker 1: judge who denied emotion to move the trial of an
- 21:43Speaker 1: ex Dallas cop who killed a man in his apartment
- 21:46Speaker 1: last year. We'll also talk about all these stories at
- 21:49Speaker 1: the hour coming up right, kind of crazy question. Yeah,

- 30:09Speaker 1: During an interview with ABC's Good Morning America on Tuesday,
- 30:12Speaker 1: Alex said that after a short period of optimism when
- 30:16Speaker 1: he stopped chemotherapy, his medical report didn't look good, and
- 30:21Speaker 1: doctors ordered him back on the treatment. Alex announced back
- 30:25Speaker 1: in March that he had stage four pancreatic cancer. We
- 30:29Speaker 1: are all still praying for Alex Trebek, still praying and

- 30:58Speaker 1: and other trending news. The Texas judge has denied emotion
- 31:02Speaker 1: by fired Dallas cop Amber Geiger to move her trial
- 31:06Speaker 1: out of Dallas, rejecting her claims at the media's hysteria
- 31:09Speaker 1: and false narratives have prejudiced potential jurors in her trial
- 31:13Speaker 1: for the shooting death of an unarmed black man in
- 31:16Speaker 1: his own apartment. Dallas County District Judge Tammy Kemp reportedly
- 31:21Speaker 1: told jurors to pack one week's worth of clothing in
- 31:24Speaker 1: case they are to be sequestered. The murder trial is
- 31:29Speaker 1: expected to last up to three weeks and will begin
- 31:33Speaker 1: next Monday. Amber Geiger, thirty, shot and killed Botham Jean Botham,
- 31:39Speaker 1: John twenty six. He was an accountant. He was in
- 31:41Speaker 1: his own apartment at the South Side Flats apartment complex
- 31:44Speaker 1: just south of downtown Dallas on September seventh of last year.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Geiger said she thought she had entered her own apartment
- 31:53Speaker 1: and fired her service revolver at what she believed was
- 31:55Speaker 1: an intruder. Geiger has been charged with murder and faces
- 31:59Speaker 1: up to life in state prison if convicted. Just you know,
- 32:03Speaker 1: it's this, it's such an, such an impossible story to
- 32:07Speaker 1: believe that you thought that you were entering your own
- 32:12Speaker 1: apartment when you were entering his apartment. You kill the man,
- 32:18Speaker 1: and now you want what change of venue for the trial?
- 32:23Speaker 1: There's no unfair nothing. This is what happened. Yeah, this
- 32:32Speaker 1: man's life is gone because you, as a trained officer,
- 32:37Speaker 1: thought you were entering your house and he was an intruder, when,
- 32:42Speaker 1: in essence you he opened the door to his own
- 32:45Speaker 1: home and you killed him. Are you kidding me? You
- 32:49Speaker 1: know your own house when you open yes me, you
- 32:53Speaker 1: ain't seen nothing in the background look like yours? Yeah
- 32:58Speaker 1: right nothing now, asked? Yeah? Yeah, so good? Yeah, next Monday.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Trial starts next Monday. That's right. Wow, I want to
- 33:16Speaker 1: see how they try to paint this man. It was
- 33:21Speaker 1: an upstanding member of his community and everything, if I
- 33:25Speaker 1: remember correctly. All right, Steve, we got to move on here.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Let's get ladies and gentlemen without further ado, Miss Anne Trip,
- 33:32Speaker 1: thank you very very much, as is answer put the news.
- 33:34Speaker 1: By the way, there was never any word of any
- 33:37Speaker 1: breathalyzer test given to office A guy go buy her.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Colleagues officially in Saudi Arabia are saying that they are
- 33:43Speaker 1: sure that Iranian weapons were used in the recent attack
- 33:46Speaker 1: on their oil refinery. Meanwhile, President Trump's hedging a bit,
- 33:50Speaker 1: just a bit, looking that way. We'll have some pretty
- 33:52Speaker 1: good we're having some very strong studies done. But it's
- 33:55Speaker 1: certainly looking that way at this moment. And uh, we'll
- 33:59Speaker 1: let you know. Iran continues to deny the accusation, though
- 34:02Speaker 1: many US lollmakers are worry of there being a many
- 34:05Speaker 1: military action. They don't want to see that. Former Trump
- 34:08Speaker 1: campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was on Capitol Hill yesterday appearing
- 34:12Speaker 1: under subpoena before the House Judiciary Committee, and the Democrats
- 34:15Speaker 1: who had up the panel wanted him to describe an
- 34:18Speaker 1: episode involving possible obstruction of justice by President Trump, a
- 34:22Speaker 1: situation described in the Mulla Report as a matter of fact.
- 34:25Speaker 1: The report said that in June of twenty seventeen, Trump
- 34:27Speaker 1: asked Lewandowski to deliver a message to US Attorney Jeff Sessions,
- 34:32Speaker 1: telling Sessions to cut off the Rush administ investigation, but
- 34:36Speaker 1: Lewandowski says he never delivered the note, and after the hearing,
- 34:40Speaker 1: after admitting that that was true, Lewandowski flatly and defensively
- 34:44Speaker 1: refused to talk about anything else. For actual collusion or conspiracy,
- 34:48Speaker 1: there was none. What there has been, however, is harassment
- 34:51Speaker 1: of this present from the day he won the election.
- 34:54Speaker 1: He cited executive privilege as his reason for refusing to answer. However,
- 34:57Speaker 1: Democrats disagree with that excuse, since Lewandowski was never part
- 35:01Speaker 1: of the administration. He was never employed by the White House.
- 35:04Speaker 1: In Chicago, opening arguments had been made in the trial
- 35:07Speaker 1: of two men accused of luring a nine year old
- 35:09Speaker 1: little boy away from a play rant ground and shooting
- 35:12Speaker 1: him to death as a way of sending a message
- 35:14Speaker 1: to his father, who was a rival gang member. Corey
- 35:17Speaker 1: Morgan and Dwight Dotty on trial for murdering the fourth grader,
- 35:20Speaker 1: Tyshawn Lee, while a third man, Kevin Edwards, has played
- 35:23Speaker 1: guilty before the trial authority to say young Tyshawn was
- 35:26Speaker 1: murdered in revenge for the killing weeks earlier of one
- 35:29Speaker 1: of his father's gang rivals than the wounding of that
- 35:31Speaker 1: man's mother. Tributes continue to pour in on social media
- 35:36Speaker 1: for Emmy Award winning political journalist Cookie Roberts of both
- 35:39Speaker 1: ABCTV and National Public Radio. Kochie had died yesterday after
- 35:43Speaker 1: losing a battle against breast cancer. She was seventy five.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Former President Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama have
- 35:49Speaker 1: issued a statement describing Cookeie Roberts as a trailblazing figure
- 35:53Speaker 1: and a role model for young women, saying that she
- 35:55Speaker 1: will be missed. Kevin Hart said, well, he's in it again.
- 35:58Speaker 1: He's facing a sixty mean our lawsuit brought by an
- 36:01Speaker 1: actress in model named Munika Munita Sebag, who accused his
- 36:05Speaker 1: heart of negligence and infliction of a emotional distress an
- 36:08Speaker 1: invasion of privacy, all stemming from an instant that took
- 36:11Speaker 1: place in twenty seventeen. A USA Today says Sebag made
- 36:14Speaker 1: headlines after a video surface online of she and Heart
- 36:18Speaker 1: having sex in a Vegas hotel room. May remember all
- 36:21Speaker 1: of that, well, Sebag said initially that she just wanted
- 36:23Speaker 1: to find a guy that initially illegally taped them and
- 36:27Speaker 1: sue him. His name is that Jonathan Todd Jackson. But
- 36:31Speaker 1: now Sebaga is suing Jackson, She's suing Kevin Hart, and
- 36:34Speaker 1: she's suing the Marriott Hotel. Finally, this is National Respect
- 36:37Speaker 1: Day and we do know how to spell it. I
- 36:45Speaker 1: get back to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. How you're
- 36:49Speaker 1: listening to morning show, ladies and gentlemen. He's back one
- 37:09Speaker 1: of our favorite favorite family members. He's the star of
- 37:13Speaker 1: ESPN's First Take and the Stephen A. Smith Show on
- 37:17Speaker 1: ESPN Radio. He's also the brand ambassador for the third
- 37:22Speaker 1: annual HBCU Week that's going on this week to promote
- 37:26Speaker 1: awareness about the importance of HBCUs Historical Black Colleges and Universities.
- 37:32Speaker 1: He's here today and before he talks about this wonderful
- 37:35Speaker 1: initiative with the HBCUs ladies and gentlemen, Stephen A. Smith
- 37:42Speaker 1: was talking yesterday byt them Damn Browns. He hurt me
- 37:47Speaker 1: and I wanted to text him about it because I
- 37:50Speaker 1: text him live on the show a lot, but he
- 37:53Speaker 1: was telling the truth. And Stephen Au the damn Browns.
- 37:56Speaker 1: You'll take on the Browns quickly. It's work. They can ball.
- 38:00Speaker 1: But I'm just saying, you ain't been to the postseason
- 38:03Speaker 1: since two thousand and two. You've you've stunk up to
- 38:06Speaker 1: join them damage just stunk up Lake Erie. But the
- 38:09Speaker 1: last two decades a right, you finally got a team,
- 38:16Speaker 1: and before y'all have a chance to pass gas, everybody
- 38:19Speaker 1: crowning you like you done something. I'm like waiting them minute.
- 38:22Speaker 1: You ain't beat nobody. Last year, gam Newton was hurt,
- 38:25Speaker 1: Deva didn't have a quarterback. Don't get me started with
- 38:28Speaker 1: Cincinnati and Marvin Lewis and all of that other stuff.
- 38:31Speaker 1: When you beat twice, I mean, you're talking all of
- 38:34Speaker 1: this stuff and I'm just in a monster, like, wait
- 38:36Speaker 1: a minute. And then last night, yet you showed out
- 38:39Speaker 1: on Monday Night football. It was against the Jets. I
- 38:42Speaker 1: mean they unback. I mean Sam Donald is out with
- 38:46Speaker 1: Mona as well. And then your backup quarterback, Trevis Simeons
- 38:50Speaker 1: got an ankle broke in the first quarter. You got
- 38:53Speaker 1: some dude named Luke Fall Steve I cover school, the
- 38:57Speaker 1: Steve Harvey team. I cover. Yeah, I never I don't
- 39:03Speaker 1: know what school he went to. I don't know what
- 39:07Speaker 1: I ain't never heard of. It was my life. Yeah,
- 39:11Speaker 1: and this is who the Browns bein'. Everybody walking around
- 39:15Speaker 1: like it's people need to sit down, man. Well you know, Sam, Hey,
- 39:19Speaker 1: Sam Donaldson, stop kissing everybody. He wouldn't have mino. Well
- 39:23Speaker 1: you can say, you can say that, but but for
- 39:25Speaker 1: me that we don't know. We don't. What's the reason
- 39:28Speaker 1: we don't know? Well, anyway, let me just say this, Stephen,
- 39:31Speaker 1: don't be half of the one real Cleveland fan out
- 39:35Speaker 1: here on this radio show. It wasn't I hadn't crowned
- 39:39Speaker 1: the Browns. I was just hopeful that this year would
- 39:43Speaker 1: be different from other years. I just wanted to win
- 39:46Speaker 1: ten games this year. You might, but I got news
- 39:50Speaker 1: for you. The Baltimore Ravens, led by that brother, Lamar Jackson,
- 39:54Speaker 1: who was my favorite football player in the league right now,
- 39:58Speaker 1: mercy this brother especially now and John Harbor and those
- 40:02Speaker 1: boards got him bolling. They gotta star, tough, stout, deepense.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Baltimore ain't going anywhere. Man. Pittsburgh's done. It's old rip rosy.
- 40:12Speaker 1: It's old for the stealing. That's done, all right, And
- 40:14Speaker 1: don't get me started with Cincinnati. But it's gonna come
- 40:17Speaker 1: down to Baltimore, Cleveland, and I would get bore right now, Stephen,
- 40:21Speaker 1: ain't hold on one second. Man. We're gonna take a
- 40:23Speaker 1: break and we'll be right back. You're listening, Hey, everybody,
- 40:43Speaker 1: we're back. We're talking to us Stephen A. Smith about
- 40:46Speaker 1: this exciting new initiative and he's the ambassador for HBCU
- 40:50Speaker 1: College Fan Wilmington, Delaware. Hey, Stephen, thank you so much. Man.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Let's talk about the real reason you're calling. Man. This
- 40:56Speaker 1: is a big weekend for HBCUs to promote stud enrollment.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Are you going to be broadcasting easy? ESPN's first take.
- 41:05Speaker 1: This is Big Man Live from the Big HBCU College
- 41:10Speaker 1: Fair in Wilmington, Delaware this Friday. Magic Johnson gonna be
- 41:13Speaker 1: a special guest. Doors open at seven am and the
- 41:16Speaker 1: broadcast begins at ten am. Tell us about it, Steve, Well, Well,
- 41:19Speaker 1: first of all, you know, people like yourself and your
- 41:23Speaker 1: man Rashaan McDonald, the whole Steve Harvey Morning Team. I
- 41:26Speaker 1: got y'all. I think because with all the things that
- 41:28Speaker 1: y'all done throughout the years with the Disney Dreamer's Academy.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Just just just reminding us of the importance of giving
- 41:34Speaker 1: back the way that you've continuously done throughout the year.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Steve Um is something that I tried to do. Um.
- 41:39Speaker 1: You know, I'm a graduate of an HBCU and went
- 41:42Speaker 1: to Salem State. I played for the legendary Clarence Big
- 41:45Speaker 1: House Game, and one of the problemss I made was
- 41:48Speaker 1: to make sure that I gave back. He said, damn it, boy,
- 41:50Speaker 1: that's the least you could do, because your damn sure
- 41:52Speaker 1: couldn't play when you were here. And he's right. So
- 41:55Speaker 1: so you know, I think it's the least I could do.
- 41:57Speaker 1: And so obviously I've been blessed and very very fortunate,
- 42:00Speaker 1: and to be as successful as I've been over the
- 42:03Speaker 1: course of the last several years, I've given. You know,
- 42:05Speaker 1: I've pledged to give an excess of a quarter of
- 42:07Speaker 1: a million dollars to my alma model myself. I've been
- 42:10Speaker 1: doing that and now I'm just trying to take it
- 42:13Speaker 1: to another level. HBCU Week is the third annual of
- 42:16Speaker 1: Delaware State. They've got the mayor involved in proseci. They've
- 42:19Speaker 1: got the governor involved, other Governor John Carney, both US
- 42:23Speaker 1: Senators were in attendance months ago when they honored me
- 42:25Speaker 1: as an HBCU grad. The co founders of the event
- 42:28Speaker 1: by the name of Earl Cooper and Ashley Christopher, were
- 42:31Speaker 1: the ones that put this together. And the objective is
- 42:34Speaker 1: to really get folks from disenfranchise communities, particularly African Americans,
- 42:39Speaker 1: more in tune and involved with HBCUs. HBCUs, it's like
- 42:43Speaker 1: three percent of folks graduate from HBCUs, but they make
- 42:47Speaker 1: more than thirty to forty percent of Black entrepreneurs, black
- 42:51Speaker 1: professionals in corporate America and what have you with the
- 42:54Speaker 1: things that they've been doing. And so, as a graduate
- 42:57Speaker 1: of an HBCU, recognizing culturally then of connections that you're
- 43:00Speaker 1: able to build, the family kind of atmosphere that you're in,
- 43:03Speaker 1: the fact that you've got people around you who you
- 43:05Speaker 1: identify with culturally, ethnically, and beyond helping to lift you
- 43:09Speaker 1: up and propel you to new heights is something that
- 43:11Speaker 1: we're not accustomed to see and unless we go to
- 43:14Speaker 1: an HBCU and most distances. And so as a result
- 43:17Speaker 1: of that, they wanted me to be the ambassador of
- 43:19Speaker 1: it because obviously the face that I have, in the
- 43:21Speaker 1: reach that I have being on ESPN reaching over seventy
- 43:24Speaker 1: five million people a week, with the platforms that I
- 43:27Speaker 1: have available to me, I got ESPN to take first
- 43:30Speaker 1: take down at HBCU. We televised live from there. Magic
- 43:34Speaker 1: Johnson is going to be a guest. So it's Troy Vinson,
- 43:37Speaker 1: the executive VP of the National Football League. They've been
- 43:42Speaker 1: doing their work in order to get HBCU grads to
- 43:44Speaker 1: be involved in sports management and what have you. So
- 43:47Speaker 1: I got the corporate side with Troy Vincon, I got
- 43:50Speaker 1: the entrepreneurial side with Magic Johnson. I've got the media
- 43:53Speaker 1: side with myself. And basically, you've got marching bands that
- 43:57Speaker 1: are coming in attendance twenty five different schools in Winston
- 44:00Speaker 1: Salem State my alma mater, to Morehouse, Spellman, Norfolk State.
- 44:05Speaker 1: The list just goes on and on and on. And
- 44:07Speaker 1: if you're a high school senior and you show up
- 44:09Speaker 1: with your grades and the proper sat ACT scores, you
- 44:12Speaker 1: could get a scholarship on the spot, not to mention
- 44:15Speaker 1: enrollment in an HBCU. In an HBCU for a number
- 44:20Speaker 1: of people that are so that's what I'm doing, steven A.
- 44:24Speaker 1: So you're saying that if a high school student shows
- 44:27Speaker 1: up with his diploma his transcripts, yep, that they're giving
- 44:32Speaker 1: away scholarships. Now I'm looking here, yes, and it says
- 44:36Speaker 1: that if you if you attend, there's over four thousand
- 44:40Speaker 1: students expected to attend and to plan to award over
- 44:45Speaker 1: two million dollars on site and scholarships on site. Stephen A. Yes,
- 44:53Speaker 1: you better go to work boards. That's what we're doing.
- 44:56Speaker 1: That's and this is just the beginning for me. Well
- 44:58Speaker 1: you are even a smith Man. Congratulations, Listen to me. Students,
- 45:03Speaker 1: get down there to this fair. If you want more information,
- 45:08Speaker 1: go to HBCU Week hbcuweek dot org. That's just simply
- 45:14Speaker 1: hbcuweek dot org for a full schedule of events and
- 45:18Speaker 1: to register to attend the college Fair. Stephen A. Smith, Congratulations,
- 45:23Speaker 1: keep doing what you're doing. Boy, Thank you. I appreciated
- 45:26Speaker 1: to love everybody, y'all. My man, Yeah, all right, coming up,
- 45:30Speaker 1: nephew Tommy and today's praying phone call. Right after this
- 45:34Speaker 1: you're listening to show, all right, coming up at the
- 45:52Speaker 1: top of the hour, right about four minutes after it's
- 45:55Speaker 1: my Strawberry letter for today. Subject my husband's play daughter.
- 46:00Speaker 1: My husband's play daughter. All right, yeah, right now, nephew
- 46:04Speaker 1: Tommy in the building with today's praying phone call what
- 46:07Speaker 1: you got for us? Now call the ball? Your wife?
- 46:13Speaker 1: Huh's cheating on both of us, man, it's gonna be great,

- 46:35Speaker 1: I work with um with your wife, Vernica. We're on
- 46:37Speaker 1: the same sales floor together. I think I met you before,
- 46:41Speaker 1: but I don't know if you remember meeting me. But um,
- 46:43Speaker 1: I work at the job with Veronica. Is everything on
- 46:47Speaker 1: right there? Or what's going on? No? No, no, everything
- 46:49Speaker 1: is straight here at the job. Not a problem at
- 46:51Speaker 1: all at the job. But I wanted to yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 46:55Speaker 1: she's all right, she's perfectly fine. Man. Um, I just
- 46:58Speaker 1: I just you know, I actually, like I said, my
- 47:01Speaker 1: name is Mark. Man, you don't remember me, Terrence, But
- 47:03Speaker 1: I just wanted to talk to you, Like I say, Um,
- 47:05Speaker 1: you know, I got some things on it that's been

- 47:12Speaker 1: and you know, just kind of have like a little
- 47:13Speaker 1: a little hard to hard talk with you. Man. So
- 47:15Speaker 1: maybe you know, uh, you know, we can get things
- 47:18Speaker 1: in a in a better position. But I just wanted
- 47:20Speaker 1: I just wanted me and you to have a conversation. Wait, man,
- 47:24Speaker 1: how did you get my veronic? Can give you my number?
- 47:26Speaker 1: Or how did you get my number? That's what I'm

- 47:31Speaker 1: I had I've had your number. I just I just
- 47:33Speaker 1: I just had never reached out to you before. But
- 47:36Speaker 1: like I say, though, man, this this, this has been
- 47:37Speaker 1: bothered me for a minute and I wanted to get
- 47:39Speaker 1: it off my chest so you and I can try to,
- 47:42Speaker 1: I guess, fix this whole issue. But I just want
- 47:44Speaker 1: us to see if we can fix it. You know, well,
- 47:47Speaker 1: well fix the issue. What's the issue? I don't understand me.
- 47:49Speaker 1: I'm not following you. I don't understand what like what
- 47:53Speaker 1: is the issue. So but now you know, like I said,
- 47:56Speaker 1: I went on to talk to me, what's going on? Okay,
- 48:03Speaker 1: your wife man is cheating on both of us. We

- 48:26Speaker 1: both of us. You say, Vera cheating on me and me,

- 49:18Speaker 1: don't understand what you mean. Me and Veronica been you know,
- 49:23Speaker 1: kind of cool. You know, last eight months to a year,
- 49:26Speaker 1: we've been, you know, pretty tight here at the job.
- 49:28Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. So listen what you mean
- 49:30Speaker 1: y'all been cool? That's what I don't understand. Like, what
- 49:33Speaker 1: do you mean y'all being cool? Because that's my wife.

- 49:44Speaker 1: and then you know, don't come back. That's our thing though.
- 49:46Speaker 1: But you know, now, you know I'm noticing. You know,
- 49:49Speaker 1: she she didn't want out, you know, she didn't want
- 49:51Speaker 1: to lunch a couple of time with his brother named Alan,
- 49:52Speaker 1: And I'm like, okay, no, no, it ain't gonna go

- 50:00Speaker 1: called you. I called you to my wife. That's what

- 50:06Speaker 1: named Alan I need you to step up as the
- 50:08Speaker 1: husband and fix this. But you're telling me that my
- 50:11Speaker 1: wife is cheating on both of us. Ain't no cheating

- 50:17Speaker 1: you're telling me that you're with my wife too, that

- 53:29Speaker 1: You gotta brak everything to the table at some point. Okay, Now,
- 53:33Speaker 1: I understand what we was doing. What you're not gonna

- 53:59Speaker 1: you played too. I know. But the job is to

- 54:04Speaker 1: little bit. But one day I'm gonna call Uncle Steve
- 54:06Speaker 1: and say they finally got him, Junior. If you called
- 54:11Speaker 1: Uncle Steve and tell him somebody with my hands, that
- 54:14Speaker 1: means you was there. And I just watch what I'm

- 54:22Speaker 1: I bet not be getting my ass up and look
- 54:23Speaker 1: over and see you watching. I know that you look

- 55:48Speaker 1: Buggle up, hold on tight, We got it before you
- 55:50Speaker 1: here it ease, babe. Letter All right. Subject my husband's
- 55:54Speaker 1: play daughter. You're Stephen Shirley. I've been married for ten years.
- 55:59Speaker 1: We don't have any children together, but my husband has
- 56:02Speaker 1: two grown kids and another plate daughter, yes, a plate daughter.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Before we got married, he had an ex girlfriend and
- 56:11Speaker 1: started dating her when her daughter was only two years old,
- 56:15Speaker 1: so he became really close to the little girl. The
- 56:18Speaker 1: girl even calls him daddy. When she was younger, he
- 56:21Speaker 1: taught her how to ride a bike, They went bowling
- 56:24Speaker 1: off in school, shopping, and he would help her mom
- 56:27Speaker 1: out financially with things the child needed. The play daughter
- 56:31Speaker 1: started coming over to our house for visits about four
- 56:33Speaker 1: years ago, and the first few visits were fine, but
- 56:37Speaker 1: as she got older, she would go back to her
- 56:39Speaker 1: mom and report what was going on in my house.
- 56:42Speaker 1: I would get calls from the mom telling me that
- 56:45Speaker 1: I was mean to her child and made her feel
- 56:47Speaker 1: like I did not want her around. I have never
- 56:50Speaker 1: been mean to this child, but I knew the moment
- 56:53Speaker 1: I started telling her no, it was going to be
- 56:55Speaker 1: a problem. I told my husband that it had become
- 56:59Speaker 1: too much of a mess with a child's mom. Therefore,
- 57:02Speaker 1: his play daughter was no longer welcome at our house.
- 57:07Speaker 1: Now there's an ongoing battle with my husband and the
- 57:10Speaker 1: play daughter's mother because she can't come over. My husband
- 57:13Speaker 1: seems to think I'm wrong. I didn't ask him to
- 57:16Speaker 1: cut all ties with the girl. I just don't want
- 57:18Speaker 1: her staying overnight at my house. Deep down, I do
- 57:21Speaker 1: want my husband to stop taking care of this child
- 57:23Speaker 1: and cut off the mom completely. But I don't want
- 57:26Speaker 1: to seem selfish. How can I get my husband to
- 57:28Speaker 1: back away so we can stop all the drama in
- 57:31Speaker 1: our marriage? Am I wrong in any way? I say no,
- 57:34Speaker 1: you're not wrong. I mean kids need to be told no.
- 57:37Speaker 1: I will say that you know what your husband has
- 57:40Speaker 1: done in this little girl's life is definitely commendable and respectable.
- 57:44Speaker 1: He's not the girl's biological father, but he's known her
- 57:47Speaker 1: since two years old. He's taught her how to ride
- 57:49Speaker 1: a bike. I mean, he did all the things that
- 57:51Speaker 1: a father would do. But now the situation is different.
- 57:56Speaker 1: That is no longer her mom, is no longer his
- 57:59Speaker 1: girlfriend there no longer together. I say, it's your house
- 58:02Speaker 1: that your husband. The mom should be grateful. This mom
- 58:04Speaker 1: should be grateful that you're you're welcome and you still
- 58:07Speaker 1: welcome the daughter into your home at all, because you
- 58:10Speaker 1: certainly didn't have to do that. You didn't. I mean,
- 58:13Speaker 1: you're being kind because you know of the relationship your
- 58:18Speaker 1: husband has with the girl. But I just have to say,
- 58:21Speaker 1: where is he in all of this? I mean, his
- 58:24Speaker 1: support and loyalty to be should be to you first
- 58:27Speaker 1: and no one else. I mean, I don't understand how
- 58:30Speaker 1: you're wrong in this to him, His so called play
- 58:33Speaker 1: daughter is out of line. If she's going back, running back,
- 58:37Speaker 1: telling her mom what's going on, especially if all you're
- 58:40Speaker 1: doing is telling her no. You said in the letter
- 58:42Speaker 1: you've never been mean to this child, So that's what
- 58:44Speaker 1: I'm going with. Um, it sounds like the daughter got
- 58:48Speaker 1: this behavior. Sounds like she got it from her MoMA.
- 58:51Speaker 1: I mean, I think your husband needs to check the mom.
- 58:53Speaker 1: I think he needs to check his play daughter. When
- 58:56Speaker 1: she called you the mom, he should have just gotten
- 58:59Speaker 1: on the phone and told her to, you know, stop
- 59:01Speaker 1: talking to you like this. Don't be talking to his wife,
- 59:04Speaker 1: you know, crazy in all of this, and to teach
- 59:07Speaker 1: her daughter some respect in this situation. I mean, it's
- 59:10Speaker 1: a different situation now you're married. Never, never should she
- 59:15Speaker 1: be allowed to behave, you know, to you disrespectfully and
- 59:19Speaker 1: you know, you guys should be able to work on
- 59:22Speaker 1: a good relationship. It sounds like you had that until
- 59:25Speaker 1: she got older. And you know what, I just think
- 59:29Speaker 1: that's what a father would do if no matter what,
- 59:31Speaker 1: if it's a real father, if it's a play father,
- 59:34Speaker 1: I think you need to step up and handle this
- 59:36Speaker 1: situation and don't let anyone disrespect your wife. Steve Shirley,
- 59:43Speaker 1: you're correct to an extent. But the question that the
- 59:47Speaker 1: lady poses at the end of the letter, am I
- 59:50Speaker 1: wrong in any way? Of course she is. Of course
- 59:55Speaker 1: she's wrong because really the whole purpose of this letter
- 59:59Speaker 1: is it is because she hates the tie that this
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: man has to the X and the fact that they've
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: been married ten years, don't have any children together. Now,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: the one child that keeps coming over him is a
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: baby from the ex girlfriend that he had when he
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: was dating her and the daughter was two years old.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: That's what this letter is really about. So now before
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: we start dogging the man out saying what he ain't,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: let's just talk about what the man is for a moment.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Here's a man who formed a relationship with a child
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: because of his ex. Now, him and the X ain't together,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: but he stayed close to the child because the child
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: started called and him daddy. The little girl might not
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: even know who her real father is, but this one
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: right here calls him daddy. When she was younger, he
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: taught her how to ride a bike, They went bowling
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: off to school, shopping. He would help her mom out
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: financially with things that the child needed. The play daughter
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: started coming over to our house to visit about four
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: years ago. Now I'm just doing the math if the
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: metric little baby when she was two, and she'd been
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: coming over four years ago, and y'all been married ten years.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: The little girl is somewhere between six and ten six
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: and ten, somewhere like that. Now she started coming over.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: The first few visits were fine, just a few visits.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: You was able to take this for just a few visits.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Then you said, the first few visits were fine, but
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: as she got older, she would go back to her mom.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Report was going on my house. I get calls from mom,
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: tell me I was meaning to a child. Made it
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: feel like she didn't want to run? All right, Steve,
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: hang on, hang on with you. She did, response she did.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: We'll have part two of your response coming up at
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour. The subject my husband's play daughter.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: Right after this. You're listening show, All right, Steve, Let's
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: recap today's Strawberry letters. Subject my husband's play daughter. Yeah,
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: it's this woman been married ten years to her husband.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: They don't have any children. Your husband got two grown
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: kids and another play daughter. Yes, a plate daughter. See that,
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: You see that sarcasm right there, the little sarcas, Yes,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: a plate daughter. Before we got married, he ex girlfriend
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: started dating her and the daughter was only two. He
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: became really close to the little girl, a girl even
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: calls him daddy. When she was younger, taught her how
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: to ride a bike. They went bold and often school
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: shopping help her mom out financially, a thing that the
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: child needed. Played daughter started coming over to our house
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: for visits about four years ago. First few visits were fine,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: but if she got older, she would go back to
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: her mom and report that I was report what was
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: going on in my house. I get called from the
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: mom telling me I was mean to her child and
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: made her feel like she didn't want her around. Now,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: I think the part that's true is that you've made
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: the child feel like you don't want her around. And
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: you know why. I can't believe that because you said
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: at the end of your letter, I do want my
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: husband to stop taking care of this child and cut
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: off the mom completely. But I don't want to seem selfish. Now,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: help me understand. You want the man to cut the
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: little girl off. Don't come over here no more. Let
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: me calling me daddy, cut the mom off completely, don't
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: help this little child out no more. But I don't
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: want to see him selfish. How can I get my
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: husband the back away so we can stop all the
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: drum in our marriage? Am I wrong in any way? Well,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: here's the part where you are. The relationship with the
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: child went on before you all got mad and before
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: you all started dating. Because this was his girlfriend's two
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: year old at the time. So this has been going
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: on and he's remained close in the girl's life, taught
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: how to ride a bike, take a school shopping, a
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: little girl called him daddy. It ain't a little girl's fault.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: So now he just being a good dude. He given
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: a girl a child who may or may not know
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: her father, but it looks at him as her daddy,
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: and they've had this own going relationship. You knew that
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: when you married here. You thought you could deal with it,
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: and you said it was cool and then but you said,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: the first few visits will find just a few. Now
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: that's you. That's about three, but few about three. Yeah.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: But then she would tell her mom what's going on
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: in my house because that's what kids do, because mom's
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: gonna ask what's the house? Like kids, she clean? Can't
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: she cook? Yeah? Yeah. Then you get called from the
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: mom telling me that you was mean to her child
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: and made her feel like you didn't want her to
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: come around, and quite possibly could have. Because I'm gonna
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: go back to the end of the letter. I do
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: not want my husband. I do want. My husband stopped
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: taking care of this child and cut off the mom completely.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: But I don't want to seem so. Then you say,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: I've never been mean to this child. You ain't really
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: been all that inviting. But I knew the moment I
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: started telling her no, it was gonna be a problem.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: I told my husband that it had become too much
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: of a mess with his child's mom, that for his
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: play daughter was no longer welcome in our house. Wow,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: that's tough now, because we remember this man had this
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: relationship with this child before you all got married. He
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: told you about it. He didn't spring it on you.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: He told you about it. He told you that he
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: taught her how to ride a bike. He told you
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: he should take a school shopping, they go bowling. He
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: told you all this. You said, Oh, that's sweet of you.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: I love you. Will you marry me? That's come you
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: have a problem had now? First IFEW visits you stomachedly,
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: what this letter is about is you hate the tie
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: that he has to his ex and the memory that
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: comes with the child that this is from his previous relationship.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: And I think it also plays in the fact that
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: y'all don't have any children together. You stayed at that
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: at the time. I've been married for ten years. We
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: don't have any children together. But now I don't think
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: the man is completely wrong. Now I do agree with
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: you where you said he should call his ex girlfriend
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: and say, hey, what you cannot do is call over
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: here talking to my wife now telling her how to
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: be in her own house. That you cannot do because
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: this is this woman's house. She should he cut off
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: ties with that little girl. I don't think that would
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: be right. I just don't think it would be right. Man.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: How many times do men get beat up and ridicule
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: for not taking care of their child. Then a man
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: come in and take care of some dead beat dude
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: that ain't doing nothing for his baby. He take on
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: the role, and now they then fell in love with
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: each other. I think it's a great thing. You're right
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: that he's taking care of this young girl. I think
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: that's a great thing. But she hates the fact that
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: it's a plate daughter, and the mother hates the fact
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: that he married this woman instead of her. Hello, hello,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: so the grown up. It's gonna mess up this child's
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: relationship with this man because the wife doesn't want she
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: doesn't want the drama. She don't want him taking care
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: of this baby for this woman, and they don't have
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: a child together. That's what I think. All right, Well,
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: we have to go post your comments to Today's Strawberry
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: Letter on Instagram and Facebook at Steve Harvey FM, and
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: check out the Strawberry Letter podcast on demand coming up
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: at forty six minutes after the hour. Former White House
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: Press Secretary Sean Spicer was crying after his Dancing with
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: the Stars premier Did you see it? The green shirt
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: on the lime green shirt? All right, we'll talk about
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: it right after here are you crying for? You're listening
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: to show? President Trump's former Press Secretary Sean Spicer cried
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: after his big debut on season twenty eight. It's been
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: twenty eight seasons of Dancing with the Stars. Sean Spicer
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: danced the salsa and let's just say yeah, let's just
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: say it, yes, all right. But afterwards he was seeing
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: in his car crying. Okay, but he says they were
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: tears of joy. You know, people were thinking that he
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: was crying and he was upset with his performance, but
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: actually he said they were tears of joy. He was happy,
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: his kids were watching him at home. He says that
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: he also thinks that Dancing with the Stars is a
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: perfect platform to bring people together, no matter what their
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: political beliefs are. Meanwhile, Steve Lamar Odom is also on
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: the show. Uh, he danced and did the fox trot
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: with his partner. WHOA, that was something to see. Let's
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: just say, let's just say it was bag nobod. Well
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: those two were the lowest, right. Yeah. By the way,
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: Sean Spicer's first day score was better than Lamar's, just
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: by one point. Uh. Sean Spicer got twelve, Lamar Lamar
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: got eleven. That's bad. Yeah. And uh, and Sean Spicer's
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: green shirt was trending. Yeah, it was really trending, puffy sleeve.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: I mean, you really can't talk down to me if
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: you got a twelve and I got into eleven. I know.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: But Sean Spicer got a lot of flack for just
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: being on the show. I mean he got you know,
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: people were not feeling him because they did not like
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: him as Press secretary, and you know, all the controversy
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: and everything, and now he's Undancing with the Stars. At
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: least he shows you that you can move on. Life
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: goes on. Yeah, why they got something, dude with him
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: being on Dance with the Stars. You know, well, a
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: lot of people just don't like him, Steve, They didn't.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: They just didn't like his meanness, his curtness. You know,
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: when he was Press secretary standing up there just out
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: and out lying for the president. Wait a minute, Wait
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: a minute, hold up, y'all. Let's look, that's his job,
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: the president who lies every day. Yeah, whatever the Press
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: secretary say on behalf of the president. It's got to
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: be a lie. If he even just repeat what he's saying,
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: it's a lie. But people knew that, and Sean Spicer,
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: you know, like the President doubled down. So but that's
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: why I'm okay with him, because he quit. He just said,
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: I can't do that. I can't. I can't come up
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: with Isn't it hurting? The sad part? What I tell y'all,
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: you did she did quick? Yeah, you said she's at Fox.
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: Now she's at Fox. All right, we're coming up at
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: the top of the hour. Junior's here with his issues
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: with football. You watching all right? Right after this, you're listening,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: all right, So Junior, what are your issues? I's going
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: on with you and football? The season. It's only two weeks.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: And because first of all, the games are getting long.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: If y'all haven't noticed this, no I haven't. The games
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: are getting way long now. They damn did like a
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: job watching the football game like baseball. Yeah, it's getting
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: real alone now, and it's because these end zone celebrations.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: You know, you know, you know, some of this mess
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: don't need to be out here on the field. Some
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: of y'all need to really be practicing now, the men,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: all these touchdown celebrations didn't get out of hand. I mean,
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: what happened to just scoring and give it the ball
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: to the official? Yeah, even this back in the day,
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: remember the high high five. They just just jump and
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: give each other. Just do that. Let's move on. We
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: ain't got to be down there because now when somebody
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: sco Now, it seemed like everybody on the team got
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: to show up in the ends on the pop lock
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: break dance, everybody fitting three people pop locking the whole
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: guy dog on team's pop locking. They in't here doing
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: the Michael Jackson bad videos. I saw one team scored
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: touchdown and then Jennet Jackson Rhythm Nation the whole. What
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: the hell are we doing with the touchdown celebration. We
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: don't need all this. All this shis bumping. And here's
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: another thing that I really don't think we should be doing.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: Everybody came jump in the stands because the people up
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: there can't hold you. They don't they don't work out. Yeah,
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: you're about to end your career, break your ankle because
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: a ten year old can't hold your big hands up.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: Just stoke and give somebody the ball. All right, here's
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: a new rule we need to start this week. If
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: you score, then you celebrate. Don't call nobody else down
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: now and you got five seconds, what's that? We need
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: to move on. We're gonna flag you were gone and lookin.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: And here's the last thing I really want to say
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: about this. Don't up if you're losing by twenty five.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: We don't need you to celebrate. If if you're losing
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: by twenty five, y'all, I don't even want to see
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: you dance. What you need to do is get some
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: more points on this field, y'all. Get y'all behinds whip.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: What the hell does that mean? You pop lock and
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: you still down by thirty, don't nobody cant it's Cleveland
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: doing any oh no, Cleveland was happening. They were happy.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: It ain't a lot, you know, we just we score.
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: We damned there can't believe we downed. It's different. Yeah yeah,
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: anybody the whole city go crazy clapping. Yeah, how is why?
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: How has it gotten so out of hand? That's the question.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: You don't we don't even Yeah, you don't know who's scoring?
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: It's too many people? Yeah, what number was that? That?
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: Ain't he all doing the centipede? But why ted people
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: doing the centipede right there? Now? You gotta throw people
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: in the air. Didn't catch them? No, no, I'm not
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: catching you. And when did watch has become part of football?
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: Like I didn't even know you could wear I watch
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: on the football field. We don't need that day before
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: saw it though. I don't even get broken him No, no, no,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: now he old Dale Beckham Junior took it off for
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: the game, thank you. Before the game. He just wore
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: for warm up. He's one for warm up. Yeah, but
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: we already know what time it is. It's game time.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: Gid upheting lined up catch this ball? That's all. Yeah,
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: you don't need to watch it. Then they got a
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: big ass clock in everything. We see what is the
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: purpose of the watch thing, his fashion statement. He just
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: wanted to do it stunt stunt. You know, yes, I
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: probably would have did it too. I'm just just I
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: don't have watched. I'm just going to admit I was hating.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: I was lying that watch was cod I just can't
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: afford the damn fast and I saw it on. He
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: has to look at him, gonna show this in my face,
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: Gonna wear my blessing in my face. Wow, Wow, that's
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: how you looked at that. Yeah, he gonna wear my
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: blessing right in my faith. That's that's that's another level
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: I hated. Yeah, Yeah, I could have his watch. He
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: held blessing one to be happy. Yeah, you've been waiting
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: for football so long and celebrations. You've got out of control.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: A little crime ass football fame. All right, coming up,
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: more music and some trending news on the Steve Harvey
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: Morning Show. We'll be back at twenty minutes after the hour.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: Right after this. One of the kings of comedy and
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: he is you're listening to show. All right, here's some
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: news from our homestation Mix ninety two three in Detroit.
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: Of course, the strike against General Motors. That's been going on.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: It continues as fifty five factories and parts warehouses are
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: at a standstill after the walkout by about forty eight
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: thousand United Auto Workers members. It's the union's first strike
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: against the number one US automaker GM and over a decade,
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: with autoworkers joining the walkout over issues that include job security,
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: pay and medical coverage. All right, is there a possibility
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: for federal mediation? If? President Trump said, it's possible if
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: the company and union want it, well, hopefully they'll be
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: able to work out the GM strike quickly, Trump said
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: before leaving the White House for New Mexico. Hopefully they're
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: going to work it out quickly and solidly, that's what
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: he said. So and autoworkers getting made yeah, well, being
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: a former autoworker, former union man, right, that's right. They're
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: not walking out. Once you have a walkout, it's not
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: for no reason. It's not for anything petty, and it's
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: not for any reason that they got a big reason.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: It's something going really really wrong for forty eight thousand
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: people to walk off their job, especially in this day.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, job security, pay and medical coverage, those are
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: their issues, so serious issues. Yeah, that's what we all want,
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, wow, I hope they resolved some absolutely well.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: More of the Steve Harvey Morning Show and some trending
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: news coming up at thirty three after the hour. Right
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: after this, you're listening to show some sad news. Jeopardy
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: host Alex Trebek says he's undergoing chemotherapy again. This is
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: after a setback in his battle with pancreatic cancer. During
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: an interview with ABC's Good Morning America on Tuesday, Alex
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: said that after a short period of optimism when he
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: stopped chemotherapy, his medical report didn't look good and doctors
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: ordered him back on the treatment. Alex announced back in
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: March that he had stage four pancreatic cancer. We are
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: all still praying for Alex Trebek, still praying and still
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: being optimistic. Absolutely, that's right. Prayer wars, yeah, prayer of healing. Yeah.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: He has a great attitude too, he is. Yeah, that's
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: how that's how you do. Yeah, that's how you beat.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: And he said he asked for everybody's prayers too, he said,
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: I need yeah. Yeah. Prayers going up for Alex Trebek
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: and other trending news. Um The Texas Judge has denied
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: emotion by fired Dallas cop Amber Geiger to move her
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: trial out of Dallas, rejecting her claims at the media's
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: hysteria and false narratives have prejudiced potential jurors in her
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: trial for the shooting death of an unarmed black man
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: in his own apartment. Dallas County District Judge Tammy Kemp
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: reportedly told jurors to pack one week's worth of clothing
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: in case they are to be sequestered. The murder trial
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: is expected to last up to three weeks and will
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: begin next Monday. Amber Geiger, thirty, shot and killed Botham
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: Jean Botham Jean, twenty six. He was an accountant. He
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: was in his own apartment at the south Side Flats
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: apartment complex just south of downtown Dallas on September seventh
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: of last year. Geiger said she thought she had entered
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: her own apartment and fired her service revolver at what
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: she believed was an intruder. Geiger has been charged with
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: murder and faces up to life in state prison if convicted.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: And just you know, this is such an such an
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: impossible story to believe that you thought that you were
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: entering your own apartment when you were entering his apartment.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: You kill the man and now you won't what change
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: of venue for the No, there's no unfair nothing. This
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: is what happened. Yeah, this man's life is gone because you,
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: as a trained officer, thought you were entering your house
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: and he was an intruder, when in essence you he
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: opened the door to his own home and you killed him.
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? And don't you know your own
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: house when you open yes, me, you ain't seeing nothing
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: in the background look like yours? Yeah? Right? Nothing? Yeah,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: all right, coming up our last break of the day,
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: and of course some enlightening closing remarks from the one
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: and only Steve Harvey right after this. You're listening all right?
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: Here we are our last break of the day on
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: this It's been a good day. It's been Yeah, it's
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: been a really good day. We got through it has
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: some fun um yeah day hump day. That used to
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: be Steve's favorite commercial right there, that camel. All right, Steve,
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: it's time for you to take us home with some
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: of your closing remarks as always, uh, you know, as
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: as I've decided to do a lot since I came
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: off my vacation was to just try to share with
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: you all a lot of things that I learned spiritually
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: over my vacation. I said, this is one of the
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: most spiritual awakenings I've had ever, and I really learned
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: a lot spiritually, and I just wanted to share it
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: with y'all because it's so many people out there who
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: love God. There's so many people out there who know God,
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: and there's a lot of people out there that's trying
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: to figure out where God at. It's some people out
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: there thinking God that forgot about them, And you know,
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: I just want to tell you something that that's not true.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: God ain't forgot about you. Somebody said one time, I
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: keep praying for something that don't happen. Well, wait a minute,
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: wait a minute, did it not happen the way you
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: wanted it or it's not happening, because usually it comes
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: out to be not the way you want it. But
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: if you look closely closely, something is in the process
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: of being worked out. We just get impatient with the process.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: How many times have I done that wanted something from
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: God my way with and I was so focused on
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: it happening my way that I didn't look around and
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: realize He's actually operating and working something out. And if
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: I would just look closely and show a little bit
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: more gratitude instead of complaining about what I don't have
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: my way, find out that His way is probably better
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: than the one you got. Because see me, let me
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: tell you what loses a lot of people. You know,
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: when when things going really really good in your life
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: and you feel like you bless then you just feel
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: like God is smiling on you. But then life happens,
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: you run into some rough patches on this journey. You
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: have to understand that when you hit rough patches in
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: your life, that God still smiling on you. It's just
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: that sometimes allowing these adversities that come into your life.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: Sometime some of your adversities are allowed because it pulls
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: you closer to God. Some of us need adversity to
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: get closer to God. Some of us don't understand that
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: the adversities that we're facing in our life sometimes they
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: just they seem they're covered in a mystery. But God,
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: everything that happens to you. If you love God like
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: so many of you do, if you want a relationship
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: with God like so many of you do, it ends
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: up working out for you. One way. Or the other.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: You know, you might be asking God to save, make
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: this man do right. Well, guess what if the man
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: is not right for you, why would God make him
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: do right? And he ain't the one for you. Sometimes, man,
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: you gotta go through some adversity because it pushes you
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: closer to God. It's like the other day I was
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: talking about people get mad and people because they go
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: to jail and they find Christ. Whoa hold up partner? Partner?
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: Keyword found Christ? What what difference will make how they
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: found it? It's not you can decide how God is found.
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: I found God. I get sad to say this, but
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: it's true. I gets pushed close to to God when
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: I get in the most trouble. Sad to say, but
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: that's what's happened. I'm just now learning to stay close
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: to Him in the good times, so when the bad
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: times come, I ain't that far away. I had to
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: make that decision myself. So when you see God in
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: the good times, you also got to see God's face
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: in the hard times. Because this tool show pass you're
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: just going through a process. Everybody's life has to have
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: adversity in it so you can appreciate the good times.
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: You got to have adversity because it makes you draw
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: closer to God. You gotta have adversity because you need
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: to become experienced at what it is you're going through,
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: so when it happens to you again, you know how
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: to handle it better because it's called life is just
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: gonna keep happening. I see a lot of times, man,
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: people they look at things so wrong. You know, people
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: get in their life, they get real busy bustling around
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: and they're trying to accomplish things through your own strength
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: and your own ability. Well, let me tell you something
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: about when you accomplish something through your own strength and ability.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: Sometimes you succeed rather well and other times you fail.
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: But you don't want to miss what life is really about,
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: and that's having a collaboration with God. Man, you want
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: to have a relationship with God, so you don't get
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: so full of yourself, like all your blessings is because
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: of something you did. You ain't did nothing. Oh you
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: might have worked hard, but you can't make blessing come
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: your way. Do you know if you had the ability
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: to do this, you know what your life would look like.
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: And quit looking at other people and talking about man.
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: God always doing something for them. Man, I don't get this,
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: and I sometimes I wanted this, and I get this.
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: It's called favor. Favor ain't fair. Favor is not giving out,
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: say favors giving it out just because God is good.
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: We have all benefited from favor. We've all received favor
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: we had no business getting. That's what grace and favor is. Man,
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: y'all come home. So I'm just trying to get y'all
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: to just think about it, man form relationship with God. Man,
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: he really wants me to tell you that y'all have
