We've come as far as the end of 2nd Peter chapter 1 minus the two verses

we're going to look at today. And so let's take a look. Verse 10,

Therefore my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling in

election. In other words, let's be sure. Let's be sure we truly are Christians.

Let's be sure we truly are followers of the Lord. If you do these things, you will

never stumble and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of

our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What a great chapter it's been. The love of God

displayed toward us that He would in His good nature and His great glory choose

to save us and help us to participate in the divine nature escaping the

corruption of the world caused by evil desires. That He would give access to

goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, at Godliness and out of

Godliness then mutual affection and from mutual affection love. And we can have

these qualities ever increasing in us and having them we can know where we're

headed and have our calling in election made sure. And having that we can know
1:16
that we will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord. Oh Lord,
