- 0:01Speaker 1: And I know people have talked to you about whether
- 0:03Speaker 1: or not you want to run.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Would you ever Probably wouldn't, But I do get tired
- 0:06Speaker 2: of seeing what's happening with this country, and if it
- 0:08Speaker 2: got so bad, I would never want to rule it
- 0:10Speaker 2: out totally, because I really am tired of seeing what's
- 0:13Speaker 2: happening with this country, how we're really making other people
- 0:16Speaker 2: look like him and we not.
- 0:18Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Good Monday morning, Ben Ferguson with you. It's nice to
- 0:24Speaker 4: have you on the forty seven Morning Update. And here
- 0:26Speaker 4: are the three big stories we're covering. You may not
- 0:28Speaker 4: hear this from the media, but countries around the world
- 0:32Speaker 4: are lining up to do a deal with Donald Trump
- 0:35Speaker 4: over tariffs. Now more than fifty nations have reached out
- 0:39Speaker 4: to the White House saying we want to get a
- 0:41Speaker 4: deal done. I'll have the latest on that in just
- 0:43Speaker 4: a moment. Also, you may have noticed the media is
- 0:46Speaker 4: trying to say the President is acting erradically on tariffs. Well,
- 0:50Speaker 4: that's just not true. In fact, we've got the audio
- 0:52Speaker 4: from all the way back in nineteen eighty eight where
- 0:55Speaker 4: Donald Trump said exactly what he's saying and doing today.
- 1:00Speaker 4: There is a constitutional crisis happening in this country as
- 1:03Speaker 4: district judges are doing nationwide injunctions to stop Donald Trump's
- 1:09Speaker 4: executive actions. Well, now Senate Republicans are saying uh huh,
- 1:12Speaker 4: and they're getting involved to take away power from some
- 1:15Speaker 4: of these activist judges. It's the forty seven Morning Update
- 1:19Speaker 4: and it starts right now.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Story number one, Hang tough.
- 1:23Speaker 4: That is the message from President Donald Trump calling on
- 1:25Speaker 4: Americans to ride out the tariff storm. Trump's job approval
- 1:30Speaker 4: didn't go down, didn't even stay even. In fact, it
- 1:34Speaker 4: rose during the tariff week. Another media fail. Trump's job
- 1:39Speaker 4: approval rises four points as he puts Americans first, to
- 1:44Speaker 4: fifty three percent. If you were watching the mainstream media,
- 1:49Speaker 4: it was armageddon. As Donald Trump said, I'm gonna stand
- 1:52Speaker 4: up for American workers, bring back American jobs, and I'm
- 1:55Speaker 4: not flinching on tariffs with other countries that are taking
- 1:58Speaker 4: advantage of the US. This poll that was taken with
- 2:02Speaker 4: over one thousand registered voters between March the thirty first
- 2:05Speaker 4: and April the third show that Donald Trump's four point
- 2:10Speaker 4: jump in job approval was not the only rise since
- 2:14Speaker 4: March seven Trump's job approval from young voters between the
- 2:17Speaker 4: ages of eighteen and twenty nine has jumped a staggering
- 2:21Speaker 4: thirteen points, as many of them are looking at jobs
- 2:24Speaker 4: and manufacturing is a great opportunity for them. Among independent
- 2:28Speaker 4: and Democrats, Trump enjoyed a six point increase, meaning that
- 2:33Speaker 4: the Democratic talking points aren't even working on their own
- 2:36Speaker 4: party most tellings, support from black voters jumped a whopping
- 2:41Speaker 4: seventeen points in a single week. Why because they feel
- 2:46Speaker 4: like the president is actually trying to get them a
- 2:48Speaker 4: great job. Finally, more people's support that oppose Donald Trump's
- 2:53Speaker 4: tariffs on foreign countries by a margin of thirty nine
- 2:58Speaker 4: percent support to thirty seven percent. That a posed the
- 3:01Speaker 4: complete opposite of the story that was being told by
- 3:05Speaker 4: those on the left and in the media. Now with
- 3:10Speaker 4: all of that, you now knowing that the media is
- 3:12Speaker 4: lying to you, here's something else that they're not telling you,
- 3:16Speaker 4: and that is that the tariffs are actually working, bringing
- 3:20Speaker 4: people to the table outside the White House. Giving an
- 3:24Speaker 4: update on ABC this week, here is what they said.
- 3:28Speaker 5: I got a report from the USDR last night that
- 3:30Speaker 5: more than fifty countries have reached out to the president
- 3:32Speaker 5: to begin the negotiation. But they're doing that because they
- 3:35Speaker 5: understand that they bear a lot of the tariff, and
- 3:38Speaker 5: so I don't think that you're going to see a
- 3:39Speaker 5: big effect on the consumer in the US, because I
- 3:42Speaker 5: do think that the reason why we have a persistent
- 3:45Speaker 5: long run trade deficit is these people have very inelastic supply.
- 3:48Speaker 5: They've been dumping goods into the country in order to
- 3:50Speaker 5: create job, say in China.
- 3:52Speaker 4: That coming from one of Trump's top economic advisors. So
- 3:56Speaker 4: what is actually happening with different countries and Vietnam, for example,
- 4:02Speaker 4: are making major moves and negotiations, in other words, buckling
- 4:07Speaker 4: and seeking a deal with President Trump on tariffs. As
- 4:11Speaker 4: you heard there from the White House, more than fifty
- 4:13Speaker 4: countries have reached out to the White House to begin
- 4:15Speaker 4: those negotiations. And as President Trump and his team said
- 4:19Speaker 4: early on, those that show up first will probably get
- 4:22Speaker 4: the best deal, and those that hold out, it's gonna
- 4:25Speaker 4: hurt your economy more than ours. Now, let's talk about
- 4:29Speaker 4: what happened with Vietnam. In a major victory that could
- 4:32Speaker 4: even be announced sometime this week, Trump saying that Vietnam
- 4:35Speaker 4: is now offering to cut tariffs on America to the
- 4:40Speaker 4: number of zero, President Donald Trump announcing that Vietnam wants
- 4:45Speaker 4: to drop the tariff on US goods entirely if a
- 4:48Speaker 4: deal can be struck between the two countries. Trump revealed
- 4:52Speaker 4: the major development following a phone call with the General
- 4:55Speaker 4: secretary of Vietnam's Communist Party Tolm.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I just had a very.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Productive call with the General Secretary of the Communist Party
- 5:02Speaker 4: of Vietnam, Trump announced, who told me that Vietnam wants
- 5:07Speaker 4: to cut their tariffs down to zero if they're able
- 5:09Speaker 4: to make an agreement with the US. We also know
- 5:12Speaker 4: the Vietnam flew with an emergency delegation to Washington, d C.
- 5:16Speaker 4: And arrived on Friday and are staying for fourteen days
- 5:20Speaker 4: to get the deal done now. The call comes days
- 5:23Speaker 4: after Trump announces sweeping worldwide reciprocal in baseline tariffs, which
- 5:28Speaker 4: included a hefty forty six percent discounted reciprocal tariff on
- 5:33Speaker 4: Vietnamese goods and poured it into America, the President saying quote,
- 5:38Speaker 4: I thanked him on behalf of our country, and I
- 5:41Speaker 4: said I look forward to.
- 5:42Speaker 1: A meeting in the near future.
- 5:45Speaker 4: The reciprocal tariffs Trump imposed on many countries will take
- 5:48Speaker 4: effect after midnight on April the ninth this coming week,
- 5:53Speaker 4: while the ten percent baseline tariffs on other nations are
- 5:55Speaker 4: set to take effect on Saturday. Nike stock, for example,
- 6:00Speaker 4: will plunge on Wednesday and into Thursday following Trump's tariff announcement.
- 6:04Speaker 4: The company has one hundred and thirty factories in Vietnam
- 6:08Speaker 4: and some four hundred and sixty thousand workers. This is
- 6:11Speaker 4: just one example of exactly why Donald Trump is winning
- 6:14Speaker 4: on the issue of tariffs. And it's not just Vietnam.
- 6:18Speaker 4: There are also other countries that are running to sit
- 6:21Speaker 4: down with the President, including India. More than the fifty
- 6:25Speaker 4: countries that have reached out the White House to begin
- 6:27Speaker 4: their trade talks, and top economic advisors saying this on
- 6:31Speaker 4: Sunday that we believe this will be quote a sweeping
- 6:35Speaker 4: new set of tariffs that will be announced at new
- 6:39Speaker 4: and different levels because the companies that have come forward.
- 6:43Speaker 4: You look at places like India and they are eager
- 6:46Speaker 4: to sit down and work with the American people and
- 6:49Speaker 4: this government. Now, yes, the US stock market is tumbled
- 6:52Speaker 4: by around ten percent of the two days since Trump's
- 6:55Speaker 4: announced a new global tariff around the world. But we
- 6:59Speaker 4: also know is that the President told the American people
- 7:02Speaker 4: hang tough, and based on the poll numbers, the American
- 7:05Speaker 4: people understand what Donald Trump is trying to do. They
- 7:08Speaker 4: have faith in what he's doing, and they believe that
- 7:10Speaker 4: the President has leverage to get it done for the
- 7:13Speaker 4: American worker and so that we're not being taken advantage
- 7:17Speaker 4: of any longer.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Next story number two, there are a lot.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Of people that have said, how did Donald Trump get
- 7:23Speaker 4: the idea to do what he's doing with tariffs and
- 7:27Speaker 4: the American First policy. There are many that are acting
- 7:30Speaker 4: like this is a chaotic plan, a dysfunctional plan, a
- 7:34Speaker 4: plan that is radical or extreme that should never have happened,
- 7:38Speaker 4: and it happened on a whim from Donald Trump. There
- 7:41Speaker 4: isn't a bigger lie than that coming out of the
- 7:44Speaker 4: conversation with tariffs. How do we know that this is
- 7:47Speaker 4: a belief that Donald Trump has had for quite some time. Well,
- 7:51Speaker 4: you can look back to nineteen eighty eight. President Donald
- 7:54Speaker 4: Trump was on the Oprah Winfrey Show talking about countries
- 8:00Speaker 4: ripping America off in the trade war. She also asked
- 8:05Speaker 4: him about running for office, and he said something else
- 8:08Speaker 4: that was obviously very clear. He said he didn't think
- 8:12Speaker 4: he was going to run for office unless things got really, really,
- 8:17Speaker 4: really bad. Those two things came to fruition. And this
- 8:22Speaker 4: is all the way back in nineteen eighty eight. So
- 8:25Speaker 4: if you think Donald Trump is messing around, he's not.
- 8:30Speaker 4: He's believed it and been planning it for more than
- 8:32Speaker 4: thirty years.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Last year criticizing US foreign policy, what would you do differently, Donald.
- 8:37Speaker 2: I'd make our allies forgetting about the enemies, the enemies
- 8:40Speaker 2: you can't talk to so easily. I'd make our allies
- 8:42Speaker 2: pay their fair share. We're a debtor nation. Something's going
- 8:45Speaker 2: to happen over the next number of years with this
- 8:47Speaker 2: country because you can't keep going on losing two hundred billion.
- 8:50Speaker 2: And yet we let Japan come in and dump everything
- 8:52Speaker 2: right into our markets and everything. It's not free trade.
- 8:55Speaker 2: If you ever go to Japan right now and try
- 8:57Speaker 2: to sell something, forget about it. Open, just forget about
- 8:59Speaker 2: it. It's almost impossible. They don't have laws against it. They
- 9:02Speaker 2: just make it impossible. They come over here, they sell
- 9:04Speaker 2: their cars, they're VCRs. They knock the hell out of
- 9:06Speaker 2: our companies. And hey, I have tremendous respect for the
- 9:09Speaker 2: Japanese people. I mean, you can respect somebody that's beating
- 9:12Speaker 2: the hell out of you. But they are beating the
- 9:13Speaker 2: hell out of this country Kuwait. They live like kings.
- 9:16Speaker 2: The poorest person in Kuwait they live like kings, and
- 9:18Speaker 2: yet they're not paying We make it possible for them
- 9:21Speaker 2: to sell their oil. Why aren't they paying us twenty
- 9:23Speaker 2: five percent of what they're making. It's a joke.
- 9:25Speaker 1: This This sounds like political presidential talk to me. And
- 9:28Speaker 1: I know people have talked to you about whether or
- 9:30Speaker 1: not you want to run. Would you d would you ever?
- 9:32Speaker 2: Probably not? But I do get tired of seeing the
- 9:35Speaker 2: country rep Why would you not? I just don't think
- 9:38Speaker 2: I really have the inclination to do it. I love
- 9:40Speaker 2: what I'm doing. I really like it.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Also doesn't pay as well.
- 9:43Speaker 2: No, but you know, I just probably wouldn't do it over.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I probably wouldn't. But I do get tired of seeing
- 9:50Speaker 2: what's happening with this country. And if it got so bad,
- 9:52Speaker 2: I would never want to rule it out totally, because
- 9:54Speaker 2: I really am tired of seeing what's happening with this country,
- 9:57Speaker 2: how we're how we're really making other people live vikings
- 10:00Speaker 2: and we're not.
- 10:01Speaker 4: You listen to Donald Trump then, and there's a couple
- 10:05Speaker 4: of things there that are very consistent. He said, our
- 10:08Speaker 4: allies are ripping us off. They're ripping Americans off in trade,
- 10:12Speaker 4: and we start there. He also said it's a little
- 10:15Speaker 4: bit tougher with our adversaries. A great example of that
- 10:18Speaker 4: is what he's dealing with with Russia right now. There
- 10:20Speaker 4: are many in the press trying to attack Donald Trump
- 10:24Speaker 4: for not putting major sanctions on Russia. Well, he says,
- 10:27Speaker 4: he's trying to stop a war between Russia and Ukraine.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Why complicate things and make things worse by throwing tariffs
- 10:33Speaker 4: on them? But there's also a second point that the
- 10:37Speaker 4: media is omitting from the facts. There's not a lot
- 10:41Speaker 4: to put tariffs on because we have so many sanctions
- 10:44Speaker 4: right now on Russia already. So it's almost like there
- 10:48Speaker 4: is in fact. They said of tariffs, they are tariffs
- 10:50Speaker 4: of we're not doing anything with you. And yet the
- 10:53Speaker 4: media is trying to act like there's some sort of
- 10:55Speaker 4: Russia collusion. Three point zero are four point zero or
- 11:00Speaker 4: five point zero when it comes to Russia. This is
- 11:03Speaker 4: how they're going to continue to attack Donald Trump.
- 11:06Speaker 1: At the end of the day.
- 11:08Speaker 4: This is a plan that Donald Trump made clear back
- 11:11Speaker 4: in nineteen eighty eight. Is something he believed in. He
- 11:14Speaker 4: understands leverage, and that's why there's fifty plus countries waiting
- 11:19Speaker 4: in line to work a deal with Donald J. Trump,
- 11:22Speaker 4: the President of the United States of America.
- 11:24Speaker 1: And finally, story number three.
- 11:26Speaker 4: There is a real constitutional crisis happening in America right now,
- 11:31Speaker 4: nationwide injunctions coming from many different judges purposely to hamstring
- 11:37Speaker 4: President Trump's agenda. Pambonni, the Attorney General of the United States,
- 11:41Speaker 4: saying this about what is happening with these activist judges
- 11:45Speaker 4: and these injunctions.
- 11:47Speaker 6: The President is going to comply with the law. He
- 11:50Speaker 6: was overwhelmingly elected by an overwhelming majority of the United
- 11:55Speaker 6: States citizens to be our commander in chief, and that's
- 11:58Speaker 6: what he's been doing. Just since January twentieth, we've had
- 12:02Speaker 6: over one hundred and seventy lawsuits filed against us. That
- 12:06Speaker 6: should be the constitutional crisis right there. Fifty injunctions they're
- 12:10Speaker 6: popping up every single day, trying to control his executive power,
- 12:15Speaker 6: trying to control where he believes our tax dollars should
- 12:18Speaker 6: be allocated. And saying he won by an overwhelming majority
- 12:22Speaker 6: is so important because that's what the American people want.
- 12:26Speaker 6: What President Trump campaigned on and what he won on,
- 12:29Speaker 6: and he's implementing that agenda at a rapid speed. None
- 12:32Speaker 6: of us can keep up with them every single day.
- 12:35Speaker 6: And so it's just we're going after all of these lawsuits.
- 12:38Speaker 6: We're defending them all. We just got a great win,
- 12:41Speaker 6: and we'll continue to.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Fight, will continue to fight.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Well, now there are people in Congress that are standing
- 12:47Speaker 4: with the president over this constitutional crisis. We now know
- 12:51Speaker 4: that Senator Grassley is unveiling a bill to boost Donald
- 12:55Speaker 4: Trump in court and most importantly, limit the powers of
- 12:59Speaker 4: these radical activist judges. Congressional Republicans are now hoping to
- 13:04Speaker 4: turn the tide on the legal setbacks of President Trump's
- 13:07Speaker 4: executive actions with a bill to weaken the federal judiciary.
- 13:12Speaker 4: The Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley introducing a measure
- 13:16Speaker 4: to prohibit district court judges from issuing nationwide injunctions, rulings
- 13:22Speaker 4: he believes are unconstitutional and should apply only to a
- 13:26Speaker 4: lawsuit's individual parties involved, and not an injunction on the
- 13:32Speaker 4: entire country. Grassley said the wave of anti democratic injunctions
- 13:37Speaker 4: against actions taken by the president. Said that these federal
- 13:42Speaker 4: judges have become the favorite tool of those seeking to
- 13:45Speaker 4: obstruct President Trump's agenda. Individual district judges who don't even
- 13:50Speaker 4: have authority over any of the other ninety two district
- 13:54Speaker 4: courts are single handedly vetoing policies the American people elected
- 13:59Speaker 4: President Trump to implement. Grassli said in a statement from
- 14:02Speaker 4: the four of the Senate in short, I'm trying to
- 14:05Speaker 4: fix a bipartisan problem that has been plaguing both Democratic
- 14:11Speaker 4: and Republican administrations alike. Senator Cruz also sounding of the
- 14:16Speaker 4: alarm at a Judiciary committee hearing about these activist judges.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Take a listen.
- 14:21Speaker 7: It's long been said that hypocrisy is the tribute that
- 14:24Speaker 7: vice pays to virtue. I have to admit I'm enjoying
- 14:28Speaker 7: listening to my Democrat colleagues suddenly discover the virtues of
- 14:31Speaker 7: the rule of law after four years where they brazenly
- 14:35Speaker 7: supported the most lawless Department of Justice and the most
- 14:37Speaker 7: politically weaponized department of justice our nation has ever seen.
- 14:41Speaker 7: We just heard the Senator from Rhye Island talk about
- 14:43Speaker 7: the imperative of protecting judges, and yet not a single
- 14:47Speaker 7: Democrat senator cared about the violent protesters that showed up
- 14:50Speaker 7: outside Supreme Court justices homes, including I might note female
- 14:54Speaker 7: justices like Justice Amy Coney Barrett threatening their family. And
- 14:58Speaker 7: Joe Biden's attorney general did and do a damn thing
- 15:00Speaker 7: and refuse to enforce the law to protect those judges.
- 15:04Speaker 7: Why because he agreed with the violent protesters and he
- 15:07Speaker 7: wanted to intimidate and threaten those judges.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Center Cruz is absolutely right.
- 15:11Speaker 4: The left has gone totally rogue, do not care what
- 15:14Speaker 4: the law actually says, and it's now time for the
- 15:17Speaker 4: Republicans in Congress to rein them in.
