Transcript
- Glenn: It's the same thing if that lost budget is not voted back in by the voter. You what you're hearing all the politicians scream at the top of their lungs is that we're going to have to make cuts and big cuts there. Well listen, we don't need to wait till November to start making some cuts and talking about the things that need to be readdressed within our county. That is the role of the county commissioner. We're a policymaker. And that should require us to talk to our county administrator and say, look, We want every department to come back to us within the next 30 to 60 days on their own accord and suggest to us a five percent cut across their entire budget and how they can achieve that particular reduction. Listen, I've had to do the same thing in business. The last four years, ⁓ we watched our operating costs go up and up and up and up. Inflation was absolutely out of control. The cost of insurance had more than doubled, doubled. We had conversations internally within my organization about. How can we trim some of the fat?
