- 2:10Speaker 1: Steve Harvey got a radio show. I need everybody today,
- 2:15Speaker 1: everybody that's listening. I need you to catch fire today.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I want you to catch fire today. You want to
- 2:25Speaker 1: phrase it another way, I want you to catch on
- 2:28Speaker 1: fire today. But I need you to catch fire today.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I need today to be today that you stop complaining
- 2:36Speaker 1: and you do something. Do you know why a lot
- 2:39Speaker 1: of people can't move forward in their life because they
- 2:41Speaker 1: complaining about their past? They always complaining, man about something?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Is that explains the reason why they are. Let me
- 2:50Speaker 1: help you with this right here. If you are steady
- 2:53Speaker 1: complaining about the reason you are, you know if I
- 2:57Speaker 1: hadn't have met this man, if I hadn't been involved
- 2:59Speaker 1: with this woman, if I hadn't had this baby, if
- 3:02Speaker 1: I had to never went down there, if I hadn't
- 3:05Speaker 1: got arrested, if I hadn't it this, if I hadn't
- 3:07Speaker 1: it if I had to just finish school, if I
- 3:10Speaker 1: hadn't a hey, hey, hey, stop stop all that stuff
- 3:15Speaker 1: that you're complaining about. Everything that you keep allowing to
- 3:20Speaker 1: resonate with you as a reason to justify and explain
- 3:24Speaker 1: you're not being successful. Can I share something with you
- 3:27Speaker 1: about all of that? Guess what it is. You didn't
- 3:31Speaker 1: got past all of it. You didn't had the baby,
- 3:35Speaker 1: you got arrested, they didn't kill you, you didn't finish school,
- 3:39Speaker 1: but you still standing. You met that man, he gone,
- 3:42Speaker 1: He involved with two other women. Right now, I got
- 3:44Speaker 1: three other kids. Guess what. You still here and the
- 3:48Speaker 1: baby's here. You got over all the injustices that were
- 3:52Speaker 1: done to you. You got something happened to you when
- 3:54Speaker 1: you was a kid. You're an adult now. Somebody did
- 3:57Speaker 1: something to you when you was a little boy. Guess
- 3:59Speaker 1: what you're man now. Some thing's happened to you that
- 4:04Speaker 1: you haven't found closure on. The person that you're looking
- 4:07Speaker 1: for closure from has moved on. Can I tell you
- 4:11Speaker 1: that everything that has happened to you, do you know
- 4:14Speaker 1: you've gotten past it? So why are you steady complaining
- 4:19Speaker 1: about what has happened to you that has caused you
- 4:22Speaker 1: to be in this position? But do you understand that
- 4:25Speaker 1: it's prohibiting you from moving forward? Stop complaining today, catch fire,
- 4:30Speaker 1: Let your pass be your past. I've told us to
- 4:32Speaker 1: you a hundred times on this radio, but I'm gonna
- 4:34Speaker 1: say it again. Bishop Jakes told me something man that
- 4:38Speaker 1: helped me so greatly. You can't drive your car if
- 4:43Speaker 1: you're gonna keep looking in the rearview mirror. That's why
- 4:47Speaker 1: the windshield is huge. The windshield is huge. The rearview
- 4:52Speaker 1: mirror is this tiny thing that sits up there. Now
- 4:56Speaker 1: all is far. It's so you can see stuff that's
- 4:59Speaker 1: coming up on you. All the review mirror for is
- 5:03Speaker 1: so you can assure yourself or listen to this. The
- 5:06Speaker 1: review mirror is impt there to assure you that you've
- 5:10Speaker 1: cleared something. See. That's what the review mirrors for. So
- 5:14Speaker 1: when you pass it corn, you want to switch lanes,
- 5:17Speaker 1: you can glance up there and it says, okay, you're clear.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Now you passed it. You can switch lanes. That's all
- 5:23Speaker 1: the review mirrors for. It ain't for you to stare
- 5:26Speaker 1: at and dictate your life with what you're tripping for. Man,
- 5:29Speaker 1: catch fire today today, Man quick complaining about everything that
- 5:35Speaker 1: had happened to you? Life is ten percent. What happens
- 5:38Speaker 1: to you is ninety percent. What you do about what
- 5:40Speaker 1: happens to you? What are you going to do about it?
- 5:45Speaker 1: So what I got all this? Look, man, your story
- 5:48Speaker 1: ain't no deeper than nobody else's. I can tell you
- 5:50Speaker 1: I was homeless for three years. It's people been homeless
- 5:53Speaker 1: for thirty years. How long I'm gonna ride that out? Man?
- 5:59Speaker 1: You know I ain't gonna do nothing right now. I
- 6:01Speaker 1: fell on hard times and I lost my place to stay.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Why are you staying now? See the majority of people
- 6:09Speaker 1: are staying somewhere right now. I was out there. I
- 6:12Speaker 1: didn't have nowhere to go. I'm in a shelter. Now.
- 6:15Speaker 1: You was under the bridge a week ago. You're in
- 6:18Speaker 1: the shelter. Now. Why are you still crying about the bridge?
- 6:22Speaker 1: You're in the shelter now. Man. You know how you
- 6:27Speaker 1: find your purpose, You get in touch with who created you.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Because when God made you, he had a purpose in mind.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Now we've ignored it and we haven't tapped into it.
- 6:41Speaker 1: But we all had a purpose. You don't, and it's
- 6:43Speaker 1: sometimes it take people longer to discover the purpose. Colonel
- 6:47Speaker 1: Sanders was frying chicken with a recipe that he was
- 6:51Speaker 1: telling people was the best chicken in the world. Ain't
- 6:54Speaker 1: nobody believe him till he turned seventy? Why you think
- 6:59Speaker 1: that that's only Kentucky fried chicken? Signs is old. That
- 7:04Speaker 1: dude ain't twenty up there, he owed. He Oh, but
- 7:09Speaker 1: you know what, he had been frying that chicken for
- 7:13Speaker 1: forty some years. They just found out about it when
- 7:17Speaker 1: he was seventy. But he didn't give up his purpose
- 7:22Speaker 1: in life. This dude was just frying chicken. See, people
- 7:25Speaker 1: keep looking for their gifts in all kinds of places
- 7:27Speaker 1: when it's right there in you. You ain't got to
- 7:30Speaker 1: go to school to find your gift. You're born with
- 7:33Speaker 1: the gift to God God for you. You'll go to
- 7:35Speaker 1: school to tack it on to something else. But your
- 7:38Speaker 1: gift was already given to you. You were born with that.
- 7:41Speaker 1: You don't have to go to college to know your guilt.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Your college allows you to enhance it. It to find
- 7:46Speaker 1: something to attach it to, and hopefully you get a
- 7:49Speaker 1: degree that attaches your gift to a vehicle where it
- 7:53Speaker 1: can work. The problem with college is we go to
- 7:56Speaker 1: college and we attach it to what we like or
- 7:58Speaker 1: what we might be passionate about, and we ignore the
- 8:01Speaker 1: gift we have. You know how many people and graduating
- 8:03Speaker 1: from college ain't doing nothing they went to college for.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Come on, man, you know why because you're discovering life,
- 8:08Speaker 1: your guilt. You discover what you was born to do.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I wasn't born, you know what I mean. You know
- 8:13Speaker 1: what my major was in college? It was advertising. I
- 8:17Speaker 1: can't be in no death, drawing, no picture for nobody.
- 8:20Speaker 1: But now guess what I can wake up every day
- 8:22Speaker 1: and guess what I can tell you. I advertise. I've
- 8:25Speaker 1: been advertising my career. Come see me live. Come see
- 8:29Speaker 1: me live at Madison Square Garden. Come see me live
- 8:32Speaker 1: at Phillips Arena. Come see me live at Joker's Comedy Club.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Come see me live at Pursy's. Come see me live
- 8:38Speaker 1: at Ellis's Tavern. Come see me live. Come. I've been
- 8:41Speaker 1: advertising the whole time, but I had a different purpose
- 8:45Speaker 1: in mine because I went and I talked to God,
- 8:48Speaker 1: And this is how you do it. You go talk
- 8:50Speaker 1: to God and say, hey, God, look, okay, this is
- 8:53Speaker 1: the deal. I've been struggling here. I'm over forty. I
- 8:57Speaker 1: still haven't found my purpose in life. Okay, but so
- 9:00Speaker 1: I can quit wasting any more time? Would you help
- 9:03Speaker 1: direct me and guide me to my purpose? I know
- 9:06Speaker 1: you created me to do something. I just haven't found
- 9:10Speaker 1: what it is. And the reason I haven't found what
- 9:12Speaker 1: it is because I've been doing things my way. I
- 9:14Speaker 1: ain't been checking what you confirmed with you on anything.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I ain't locked in or tried to settle it up
- 9:19Speaker 1: with you. I've been just doing my thing. Well, my
- 9:22Speaker 1: thing has gotten me as far as it can get me.
- 9:25Speaker 1: How about you takeover and do your thing now? Can
- 9:28Speaker 1: you direct me in my path? I'm an open book.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Treat me like a piece of clay. I'm telling you, man,
- 9:35Speaker 1: if you go to God, he'll give it to you.
- 9:37Speaker 1: But see you have not because you asked not. How
- 9:42Speaker 1: many times have you asked God for it? This ain't
- 9:46Speaker 1: no magic trick, y'all. This is the deal. You got
- 9:49Speaker 1: to catch fire today. Catch fire today, I am. I'm
- 9:53Speaker 1: excited about today. I've got a lot to do you're

- 16:03Speaker 1: out of the way. I'll tell you what I think.
- 16:05Speaker 1: The main thing that we haven't gone over is we
- 16:07Speaker 1: haven't gone over to songs. And that's what that's what's
- 16:11Speaker 1: gonna be impartant for this showdown. Now you you can.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I you got a pen and a pad, you can
- 16:16Speaker 1: write this down. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I write it down?

- 16:45Speaker 1: Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks. Okay, right, Tennessee whiskey.
- 16:51Speaker 1: That's Chris Stapleton, you know that. Okay, I'm not trying
- 16:55Speaker 1: to party. That's Jason all Nay. Hold off for a second.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Is that country music? That's country music? Well, that that's
- 17:03Speaker 1: that's that's that's everything. We gonna do everything we gonna
- 17:07Speaker 1: do that, said country bro. I gotta tell you right now, man,
- 17:12Speaker 1: R and B, that's our specialty. Did you not know that?
- 17:15Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. We played an R and B.
- 17:17Speaker 1: You did not know that? Oh? All I know is
- 17:21Speaker 1: you guys come an They tell me, you guys to
- 17:25Speaker 1: say any thing in the world. All I know is
- 17:28Speaker 1: I want that gun country. I want you to that
- 17:31Speaker 1: gun country music going on around? Ye that, But you
- 17:34Speaker 1: know our specialty is an R and B. That's our specialty.
- 17:38Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. It's not like we could
- 17:39Speaker 1: just learn something new last man like that. You know
- 17:42Speaker 1: what I'm saying that, Mann, Let's let's get let's get one.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Let's get one thing understood. You're the person that said
- 17:50Speaker 1: monkey I ain't sick. But yo yo, I'm just I'm no.
- 17:56Speaker 1: And you know that we're an R and D band.
- 17:58Speaker 1: That's our big thing. That's what we promote ourselves as.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Let me ask you something, Richie, something that now you
- 18:06Speaker 1: didn't not do you not want to make the five
- 18:10Speaker 1: thousand nal of that you and I have already negotiated.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I don't like being disrespected, though, you know what I'm saying,
- 18:16Speaker 1: No is disrespecting you all. You're just We're R and
- 18:20Speaker 1: D bad. We are fall the country. You know what
- 18:22Speaker 1: I'm saying, Hang it on here, Richie, you got something
- 18:26Speaker 1: his country music. I have no problem with country music.
- 18:29Speaker 1: It's just that we have a full horn section, which
- 18:31Speaker 1: doesn't really work. We country music, you know what I'm saying.
- 18:34Speaker 1: We play R and B. It's not our genre. We
- 18:37Speaker 1: got what you used to doing. But if I don't
- 18:42Speaker 1: hear uh, let me see your gunner old my colds
- 18:47Speaker 1: when they didn't. It ain't gonna work for me. I

- 19:04Speaker 1: the bank is tell them many that you guys can
- 19:07Speaker 1: say anything in the world. And I know you ain't
- 19:10Speaker 1: telling any that. Kevin's line, I mean, he's maybe he
- 19:13Speaker 1: should have told you explicitly what we do and what
- 19:16Speaker 1: we play. You know what I'm saying, I've never met
- 19:19Speaker 1: any matter my life, I'm playing problem playing Guard Brooks,
- 19:22Speaker 1: Chris Stapleton, Jason now Dan Brooks and Nuns, Blake Shelton,
- 19:26Speaker 1: Cole Swindale. Lady, ain't you don't sit here and tell
- 19:31Speaker 1: me you can't play none of these songs. I want
- 19:35Speaker 1: you to get on the stage and sing these songs
- 19:37Speaker 1: that we won't. We ain't got time to find another group. Everybody.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I don't feel about your stupid party. You know what
- 19:44Speaker 1: I'm saying. You came to us to play music, and

- 21:46Speaker 1: and his wife do the side dishes, and they started
- 21:49Speaker 1: a friendly competition too. Our guests typically prefer my wife's
- 21:54Speaker 1: collar greens and fried corn. Sure, we have a come
- 21:57Speaker 1: to Jesus meeting with my sister in law. Oh oh
- 22:01Speaker 1: that's a fight. See that's that's Oh, that's gonna be
- 22:05Speaker 1: some drama. I think y'all to just let it happen.
- 22:07Speaker 1: What y'all shouldn't have done that. You should not have
- 22:09Speaker 1: let these ladies start competing too. It was all right
- 22:12Speaker 1: when it was just two brothers competing with barbecue. Now
- 22:15Speaker 1: you haven't brought the ladies in, and now you don't
- 22:17Speaker 1: understand side dishes are sensitive. Spent the entire family. They sensitive. Yeah, okay,
- 22:24Speaker 1: but potato salent we already know sensitive mac and geese,
- 22:28Speaker 1: that's sensitive. These are sensitive, sensitive things. Yeah, this is sensitive.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Come to Jesus. You want to have a come to
- 22:36Speaker 1: Jesus meeting. Now, you want to tell her her food
- 22:39Speaker 1: ain't worth a good dog on. Now you're trying to
- 22:40Speaker 1: do that. You find what you're finn to do is
- 22:43Speaker 1: mess up the family. That's what you buy. Yeah, let
- 22:47Speaker 1: it go. Yeah, yeah, you know what I think, though,
- 22:51Speaker 1: I really think you need to tell her. Okay, you
- 22:53Speaker 1: know you need it's bad food at a barbecue. Somebody
- 22:56Speaker 1: let the person know you need to stop cooking it.
- 22:58Speaker 1: But don't tell her. Hell your brother and then let
- 23:01Speaker 1: him tell her somebody, somebody. These baked beans ain't baking.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I know that they not. This potato salad hot okay,
- 23:12Speaker 1: okay okay, yeah, yeah, let me tell you something. Your
- 23:17Speaker 1: wife potato salad hot okay, okay, no more big barbecues
- 23:21Speaker 1: for that family, But you can't tell her hoop and
- 23:25Speaker 1: do you know it's over all right? Moving on to
- 23:28Speaker 1: Frederica and Newport, for a drinker writes, my boyfriend always
- 23:32Speaker 1: makes inappropriate comments about my body. He thinks it's cute
- 23:36Speaker 1: and can't see how they are offensive. Today he said
- 23:40Speaker 1: he loves how my chunky thighs wiggle when I walk.
- 23:45Speaker 1: That's offensive. He even slapped my left eigh and said, look,
- 23:50Speaker 1: should I slap him the next time he does it? No? No,
- 23:55Speaker 1: that's just love. That's how all that is. That's love. Baby,
- 23:59Speaker 1: slap your man. You know how much slapping I'd be
- 24:02Speaker 1: doing around this house. I'd be doing some slapping around here,
- 24:05Speaker 1: ain't it? Caller and Shirley y'all? Man? Ain't it some
- 24:08Speaker 1: slapping going on around them? Yeah? But it's never the
- 24:11Speaker 1: word with all of that that she didn't like. I'm
- 24:16Speaker 1: telling me she didn't like the chunk? Is I mean
- 24:19Speaker 1: being in Jaired's got chunky monkey ice cream? Chunky is
- 24:22Speaker 1: a good word. Ain't you looking at it wrong? Yeah?
- 24:27Speaker 1: It is good colicious is good, but not chunky. Oh yeah,
- 24:35Speaker 1: booty slapping. The booty slapping has to happen in every household,
- 24:40Speaker 1: every black household. That's some booty slapping going on. But
- 24:43Speaker 1: let's get that understood. It's going on. We know that
- 24:50Speaker 1: I've been doing this, but my whole thing is She
- 24:52Speaker 1: missing the point though, because he said today he loves
- 24:56Speaker 1: see he loved chunky. It's a compliment. Okay, you need
- 25:02Speaker 1: to come on with your comments like boys, tile quick playing?
- 25:05Speaker 1: Where your comments that he helps his thank Yeah? You
- 25:09Speaker 1: too much? Play too much? Ye, go on with your

- 25:17Speaker 1: You looking like some eails up in here. Yeah, this
- 25:21Speaker 1: fat back tie you got on? Girls, come in? What
- 25:25Speaker 1: if she said, with your big jiggly belly, if I'm
- 25:28Speaker 1: gonna raise my shirt, slap it. You're not a denial
- 25:34Speaker 1: denial what you like? All right? Moving on to Dorian Importsman.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Dorian says, I'm a forty seven year old divorced woman
- 25:43Speaker 1: and my ex husband is remarried and his wife is pregnant.
- 25:47Speaker 1: They're having a girl, and he wants to name her Dorian.
- 25:50Speaker 1: His wife believes that he is still in love with me,
- 25:55Speaker 1: and I tell this pregnant Yeah, should I tell this
- 25:57Speaker 1: pregnant woman that her husband is in fact still in
- 26:00Speaker 1: love with me and tells me all the time. Why
- 26:03Speaker 1: you can't get nothing close to a darthy the reader
- 26:07Speaker 1: Dorothy Demasteria. You can do, you can get some deeds,
- 26:12Speaker 1: but you ain't got to go directly to her name
- 26:18Speaker 1: Demasia Demasa. H Yeah, he's wrong from that, he really is.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I'm going DACANDAA Yeah, Carla, what you got? So this happened?
- 26:36Speaker 1: My mom says she was pregnant with me, but my
- 26:40Speaker 1: dad wanted to name me first, he wanted to name
- 26:43Speaker 1: me Denise. Then he want to name me cookie. My
- 26:47Speaker 1: mom turned around and grabbed his shirt. Hold that blank.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Denise ain't a cookie. Yeah, okay, I like it's a desparrel.
- 27:04Speaker 1: So I guess this happens more than we know. Yeah, yeah,
- 27:10Speaker 1: don't do that. Don't do that. Don't find another name
- 27:14Speaker 1: for your baby. Man. Yeah, all right, moving on this
- 27:17Speaker 1: our last one, guys, Octavia and Pockitsie says, I'm thirty eight.
- 27:20Speaker 1: My boyfriend is sixty eight. Okay, oh wow, yeah, yeah
- 27:28Speaker 1: he is a loving man with a big heart, but
- 27:31Speaker 1: he's stingy with his money. At first he was testing me,
- 27:36Speaker 1: but a year later he still won't help me out
- 27:39Speaker 1: at all financially. He said, I wouldn't ask a man
- 27:42Speaker 1: my age for money. Uh. And isn't it a rule
- 27:45Speaker 1: that a man at any age should want to spoil
- 27:48Speaker 1: his girlfriend? Come one sixty eight, he's he got, he
- 27:52Speaker 1: got a coin purse. He'd go out in his body
- 27:54Speaker 1: reaching that reaching, ain't get your something, reaching an't get
- 27:56Speaker 1: you something. Get your corn out of that here you go,
- 27:58Speaker 1: get your some old you remember that when you used
- 28:04Speaker 1: to do that. Get in that game and get yourself.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Get your cart out of the gone, don't get your something.
- 28:08Speaker 1: So happy, old ass man, that's what you got, ye, Yeah,
- 28:15Speaker 1: him for money, being hurt, but sting you when they've
- 28:19Speaker 1: been together for a year. I don't even care about
- 28:22Speaker 1: asking for the money. But he's not gonna be your
- 28:24Speaker 1: boyfriend for very much longer. About five years. This is
- 28:27Speaker 1: all out to win. By the time you forty three,
- 28:31Speaker 1: this is gonna be about Damn. You're close to the
- 28:33Speaker 1: end here. I don't I don't see how you right?
- 28:36Speaker 1: You concerned about the money you get you need to
- 28:38Speaker 1: be concerned about his health because I don't see him
- 28:42Speaker 1: being around much longer. And don't worry about it when
- 28:44Speaker 1: he just be that, just be there, just be that
- 28:48Speaker 1: for him. You're gonna get all the money in a minute. Yeah,
- 28:52Speaker 1: just be patient, just be patient, ride it out. I'm
- 28:55Speaker 1: gonna get it all in a minute. Yeah. When when
- 28:58Speaker 1: you ask you what you doing waiting? Just what I'm doing?
- 29:06Speaker 1: All right, Thank you. Riddelow and Junior. Coming up at
- 29:08Speaker 1: the top of the hour, we have a special guest,
- 29:10Speaker 1: missus Jackie Miles, Tommy's wife, will be joining us to
- 29:13Speaker 1: talk about her and Tommy's journey with this cancer thyroid
- 29:17Speaker 1: situation right after this. But the cancer's gone. You're listening
- 29:21Speaker 1: to show, all right, So guys, we all know that. Um, Tommy,
- 29:30Speaker 1: we joke a lot, but we're so happy to have
- 29:32Speaker 1: you back. Um, to have you back. It's been a
- 29:34Speaker 1: full week. You're looking good, almost back to sounding like
- 29:38Speaker 1: your normal self. No, I'm not. I got a long wait,
- 29:43Speaker 1: but I mean to us, to us, you sound really good.
- 29:46Speaker 1: You do you do every sexy? Remember he's stronger and
- 29:49Speaker 1: stronger saying right, yeah, absolutely, but yeah, sexy Tommy and
- 29:55Speaker 1: we know that behind every great man, there's an even
- 29:58Speaker 1: greater woman. Or should I stay behind every sexy man
- 30:01Speaker 1: that's there's even a sexy or woman. Okay, the ladies
- 30:05Speaker 1: and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, yes, please, let's give it
- 30:10Speaker 1: up for Tommy's better half. And we do mean better half.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Miss Jacqueline Miles is joining us today. We affectionately call
- 30:17Speaker 1: her Lemonade because we love that's right. Morning, morning, Jackie Miles. Morning.
- 30:29Speaker 1: How are you all. We're doing very well, Thank you,
- 30:33Speaker 1: thank you. Happy to have Tommy back. We are now now, Jackie,
- 30:37Speaker 1: you're welcome. Take us back to when Tommy first got
- 30:40Speaker 1: this diagnosis, diagnosis, and you two had to film that
- 30:43Speaker 1: day in Miami. It was my birthday, it was his birthday.
- 30:46Speaker 1: I was in Miami for his birthday and I was
- 30:50Speaker 1: in the chair getting my makeup done and we were
- 30:54Speaker 1: at a at a mansion, so we had a room
- 30:56Speaker 1: that had a bathroom attached. And so as I'm getting
- 30:59Speaker 1: my makeup done, I see Thomas walk into the room.
- 31:02Speaker 1: I call him Thomas, y'all call him Thomas. He walks
- 31:05Speaker 1: into the room and it was just a look on
- 31:08Speaker 1: his face like I had never seen before. And I
- 31:12Speaker 1: was like, m now, mind you, the night before we
- 31:15Speaker 1: had received some unfortunate news that his aunt had passed away,
- 31:20Speaker 1: his mom's sister. So I thought, whatever, he was on
- 31:24Speaker 1: the phone when he walked through the through the door
- 31:26Speaker 1: to the bedroom, and so I thought it was something
- 31:30Speaker 1: to do with that. And so the young lady finished
- 31:33Speaker 1: doing my makeup, and um, I told I said, yeah,
- 31:37Speaker 1: we had a we had a death in the family
- 31:39Speaker 1: last night, and she was, of course, you know, given
- 31:41Speaker 1: her condolences and things. So when she finished doing my makeup,
- 31:44Speaker 1: she said, I'm gonna give y'all some time. So she
- 31:47Speaker 1: left out of the room, and when I went to
- 31:48Speaker 1: the bathroom where he was, that's when he told me
- 31:53Speaker 1: what the phone call was about. And I think my
- 31:56Speaker 1: boat just broke down and just like held each other up.
- 32:01Speaker 1: You know. I was like no, no, no, and it
- 32:06Speaker 1: was just it was like a surreal moment, like it
- 32:09Speaker 1: was just I just that was the last thing I
- 32:11Speaker 1: was expecting was for him to say something like that.
- 32:13Speaker 1: It was just so devastating for I know, it was
- 32:17Speaker 1: devastating for him. But then he said, but the doctor
- 32:20Speaker 1: said that it's curable with surgery. Yeah, okay, and you
- 32:24Speaker 1: guys didn't know. You didn't have any prior knowledge, so
- 32:27Speaker 1: I'm sure it was a shock to you. It was
- 32:29Speaker 1: definitely a shock. It was a shock value. I mean,
- 32:32Speaker 1: I knew he had went to the doctor to get
- 32:34Speaker 1: a scan and MRI and things like that, and they
- 32:37Speaker 1: did a biopsy, but I still, yeah, exactly, I never
- 32:43Speaker 1: thought that that would be the case. That it just
- 32:45Speaker 1: didn't even cross my mind. Yeah, yeah, Okay, Now the
- 32:49Speaker 1: day of surgery, Jackie, you're thinking it's going to be
- 32:52Speaker 1: a simple surgery because you you know, this is where
- 32:55Speaker 1: we are. Now. You gotta deal with it, you gotta
- 32:57Speaker 1: get it out. So you're thinking it's going to be
- 32:59Speaker 1: a simple procedure just to remove the thyroid tumor that
- 33:04Speaker 1: Tommy had. Then you're hit with the double whammy more
- 33:08Speaker 1: cancer in his esophagus. So how did you deal with
- 33:12Speaker 1: that at that moment? What did you go through? Did
- 33:15Speaker 1: the doctor come out and yes, So, first of all,
- 33:19Speaker 1: we knew that it had it had gotten into the
- 33:21Speaker 1: lymp nodes on the left side of his neck. So
- 33:23Speaker 1: during the consultation the doctor went over everything. He told us,
- 33:27Speaker 1: you know, where the scar would be and things like that,
- 33:29Speaker 1: and so we knew the left side, that he was
- 33:31Speaker 1: going to have a scar on the left side of
- 33:33Speaker 1: his neck and everything. And so the process was there
- 33:38Speaker 1: was a nurse that would come out until and would
- 33:40Speaker 1: call out the different families that was waiting for their
- 33:43Speaker 1: loved ones, like once every two hours and give you
- 33:45Speaker 1: an update of how things were going along in surgery.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Well I did that the first two hours. The lady
- 33:51Speaker 1: Kate hero and got men. Surgie was supposed to be
- 33:54Speaker 1: five hours. Yes, surgie was supposed to be four to
- 33:57Speaker 1: five hours. So she came out and got me for
- 34:00Speaker 1: the first two hours, and then an hour after that
- 34:04Speaker 1: they called me and said the doctor wanted to speak
- 34:06Speaker 1: with me. And I know just from whom my mother
- 34:10Speaker 1: passed away of lung cancer back in two thousand and eleven, so,
- 34:14Speaker 1: you know, just dealing with the doctors back then, I know, Oh,
- 34:16Speaker 1: this is not something good for the doctor to come
- 34:18Speaker 1: out of surgery and talk to me because it was
- 34:20Speaker 1: only three hours in and it's supposed to be four
- 34:22Speaker 1: or five hours. So he brought me in a room
- 34:25Speaker 1: and then that's when he told me that the the
- 34:28Speaker 1: tumor had gotten into his windpipe and that he was
- 34:31Speaker 1: gonna have to do what was called a windpipe resection.
- 34:34Speaker 1: So your windpipe is like an accordion. So he said,
- 34:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to cut off like six of those
- 34:40Speaker 1: rings from his windpipe and put it back together. And
- 34:43Speaker 1: there's a possibility that he's gonna I'm gonna have to
- 34:46Speaker 1: put a trachy outomy at him and serve a trachy outama.
- 34:49Speaker 1: And I was like, oh God, like me like devastated,
- 34:55Speaker 1: like Thomas, like that's gonna. I just knew that was
- 34:57Speaker 1: gonna like just kill him, you know, like Jackie to
- 35:00Speaker 1: go into go into surgery. I'm sorry, excuse me for
- 35:04Speaker 1: I just want to ask you one thing. Tommy's out
- 35:06Speaker 1: during this time, so he doesn't even know. Oh no,
- 35:09Speaker 1: he doesn't even know. This was not even discussed during
- 35:11Speaker 1: the consultation. There was no reason to discuss it because
- 35:14Speaker 1: what happened is they could not see this on the
- 35:16Speaker 1: pre op images. So he came and told me, and
- 35:21Speaker 1: so um, I was just like okay, he said, this
- 35:24Speaker 1: is probably gonna be And so anyway, you know, Um,
- 35:28Speaker 1: I had my village of prayer warriors that were they
- 35:32Speaker 1: weren't with me physically, but they were there spiritually. And
- 35:37Speaker 1: you know, on my phone, I sent them a message
- 35:39Speaker 1: and we just started praying. So they were lifting me
- 35:42Speaker 1: up as I was lifting him up. All right, you guys,
- 35:45Speaker 1: hang on, um. We have Tommy's wife with us this
- 35:48Speaker 1: morning to tell us what she went through. Tommy wasn't
- 35:51Speaker 1: the only person that he went through the worst of it,
- 35:53Speaker 1: but Tommy his wife Jiro at too, Yeah, goes through
- 35:58Speaker 1: a lot too. That's right, that's right. And we will
- 36:01Speaker 1: come back and uh talk more with Jackie Jackie Miles,
- 36:05Speaker 1: Tommy's wife, right after this. You're listening, all right, we're
- 36:11Speaker 1: back with Tommy of course, Tommy Miles and his wife,
- 36:15Speaker 1: Jackie Miles, who just came to share what she went
- 36:18Speaker 1: through while Tommy was going through the surgery. When we
- 36:21Speaker 1: left off, Jackie, you were telling us that Tommy went
- 36:24Speaker 1: through the surgery was longer than originally anticipated. He had
- 36:29Speaker 1: to go through like a but instead of five hours,
- 36:31Speaker 1: he had to go through twelve hours. But you know,
- 36:33Speaker 1: thank God, he's fine, he came through it. You were
- 36:36Speaker 1: right there with them. You had your prayer warriors. Like
- 36:39Speaker 1: you said, I know, we can't go look at so
- 36:47Speaker 1: now we all know Tommy. But tell us now about
- 36:50Speaker 1: when he got out of surgery. So how has life
- 36:52Speaker 1: been with Tommy during this journey? Demanding? Tommy is right
- 37:00Speaker 1: about talk. He didn't solve demanding. But you know what,
- 37:04Speaker 1: thank god my mother in love, his mom was right
- 37:07Speaker 1: there every step of the way, and so she helped
- 37:10Speaker 1: and she was here. She was like, baby, I'm here
- 37:13Speaker 1: when you need me. And you know, he's a mama's boy.
- 37:15Speaker 1: And so she was here and I told she was
- 37:19Speaker 1: you know, she relieved me at the hospital so I
- 37:22Speaker 1: could like come and and and regrouping everything. So we
- 37:26Speaker 1: traded out. And another thing was that the same day
- 37:29Speaker 1: of his surgery was the same day our daughter started
- 37:32Speaker 1: her first day of college. So we did not even
- 37:36Speaker 1: tell her. That was like so mommy, mommy. Emotions were
- 37:40Speaker 1: all over the place where I was like, okay, we
- 37:42Speaker 1: I don't want to, you know, I don't want her
- 37:44Speaker 1: to be afraid, and she's away and she's crying. I
- 37:47Speaker 1: know how she is, and so we didn't. I didn't
- 37:49Speaker 1: tell her too. It was probably a week a week later.
- 37:55Speaker 1: He knows, Oh yes, she definitely knows. And of course
- 37:57Speaker 1: Jordan knew because he had to go and stay somewhere else.
- 38:00Speaker 1: But when I left, you know, he I was like, Okay,
- 38:02Speaker 1: We're going to spend a night in the hospital. Daddy's
- 38:04Speaker 1: styroid isn't working right, so the doctor say he has
- 38:06Speaker 1: to get that out of there. So I was like,
- 38:08Speaker 1: it's better out there. End. So you're not explained it
- 38:11Speaker 1: until the eleven grade I mean eleven year old terms. Yes,
- 38:14Speaker 1: he was good, but then after you're in the hospital
- 38:17Speaker 1: for eleven days, he was like, what's going on? But anyway,
- 38:21Speaker 1: So in our last minute, Jackie, just we know Tommy
- 38:24Speaker 1: couldn't speak for five weeks, so how wonderful was that
- 38:27Speaker 1: for you? Girl? Said what you say? What write it down?
- 38:38Speaker 1: Write it down. I'm gonna say, don't get it twisted.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Just because he didn't have a voice to talk, he
- 38:44Speaker 1: could still communicate. He was writing. Boy, he was writing
- 38:46Speaker 1: as the white board okay. And then you know, I'm
- 38:50Speaker 1: a like sleeper. So in the hospital he took that
- 38:52Speaker 1: white board and he would tap it on the side
- 38:54Speaker 1: of the bed and I would jump up, like, what
- 38:56Speaker 1: what's going on? Well, you are a trump. Thank you, Jackie.
- 39:01Speaker 1: We love you. We'll see you on Ready Harvy Morning Show.
- 39:05Speaker 1: You guys were so supported there, and I just truly
- 39:08Speaker 1: appreciate you guys reaching out and calling and texting every day.
- 39:12Speaker 1: It was just so uplifting and supportive and I just truly,
- 39:15Speaker 1: truly thank you guys, Thank you Jackie Mollie. Coming up next,
- 39:25Speaker 1: our resident poet Lauria has a poem for you, Tommy.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to Steven Show. All right, So,
- 39:34Speaker 1: and louis our our colleague, our co worker, our friend, nephew.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Tommy coming back because he likes to be called these
- 39:42Speaker 1: todays Sexy Tommy. Our resident poet Laureate has something special
- 39:47Speaker 1: for him. Yea for me, take it away? Yes, yeah, man,
- 39:51Speaker 1: you know, you know we love you. You've been you've
- 39:55Speaker 1: been an out brother and you know, man, we understand
- 39:57Speaker 1: you've been going through everything and all. Oh that's fine.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Now this poem I wrote for you, t Man, just
- 40:05Speaker 1: just sit back and just take it in and then
- 40:06Speaker 1: we'll discuss it afterwards. But this is something that needs
- 40:10Speaker 1: to be handled. But man, be just glad you back. Man.
- 40:13Speaker 1: I just won't understand. So the name of this poem
- 40:15Speaker 1: is called T Better have My Money. I don't want
- 40:21Speaker 1: T Better have my Money. Here it is. This poem
- 40:25Speaker 1: is for Tommy, my co worker and friend. You were
- 40:28Speaker 1: down for a while, but now you own the men.
- 40:31Speaker 1: While you were out, I did all your jobs. Every day.
- 40:35Speaker 1: I asked Uncle Steve for extra money and he said, hell, no,
- 40:39Speaker 1: no way. I did thirty seven pranks and twenty twenty
- 40:43Speaker 1: stripe every letter intros. So maybe you can pay me
- 40:46Speaker 1: for doing all of those. I hope you don't think
- 40:49Speaker 1: I'm jumping, because this ain't funny. You are, Uncle Steve
- 40:52Speaker 1: should give me my damn money. Trust me. I get
- 40:55Speaker 1: sick too, and I know it can be really scary,
- 40:58Speaker 1: but I need all my money because I just got married.
- 41:01Speaker 1: I'm still praying for my wedding and my honey moon.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Can I get my damn money? And I mean real
- 41:06Speaker 1: damn soon, d n all I want to talk about. Listen, Listen.
- 41:11Speaker 1: What I'm saying is I'm glad how you welcome me back?
- 41:14Speaker 1: That I glad you back. But these bills is outstanding.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Now for far a I see it. I see one
- 41:19Speaker 1: hundred and thirty per pranks. I see you get that
- 41:23Speaker 1: right from where'd you get that rate from? Just to
- 41:26Speaker 1: what I just created? So that that's thirty seven that's
- 41:31Speaker 1: about That's about five thousands right there for pranks. That's
- 41:33Speaker 1: about That's about another hundred for Strawberry letter intros. So
- 41:36Speaker 1: that that's about two thousands, so bout seven thousands till
- 41:39Speaker 1: we'll be looking where we're at brou We're back with
- 41:43Speaker 1: Uncle Steve. Say, these are some ragged ass poems where
- 41:47Speaker 1: we at very Ray Junior raggedy ass poem they might be,
- 41:54Speaker 1: they write it, but Junior's good ass math is what
- 41:56Speaker 1: I'm counting. I'm looking at he thought to get the
- 42:00Speaker 1: time I saw all I could think of. I'm glad.
- 42:03Speaker 1: I'm glad. Surely then I don't want him to think
- 42:07Speaker 1: about me no more. If this is I don't think
- 42:10Speaker 1: about me? What Timmy, you don't have a robottle poem?
- 42:14Speaker 1: D get to do a rebottle poem? It can be
- 42:16Speaker 1: really short, really yeah, come real short yeah to Steve
- 42:21Speaker 1: always has a poem afterwards after Junior, God, I welcome back,
- 42:25Speaker 1: and you just I can't be that you just come
- 42:30Speaker 1: on you together. I'm getting it together. Give me a second.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I want it to be. I wanted to be. Really,
- 42:38Speaker 1: what kind of co worker are you? You supposed to
- 42:40Speaker 1: be feeling in your businessman? Is what I am about you?
- 42:45Speaker 1: To him, Well, I'm Steve saved about the extra job
- 42:48Speaker 1: If you want extra, you gotta do extra through Uh,
- 42:51Speaker 1: I get I'm just going by the principles now he is.
- 42:56Speaker 1: But you were feeling in you didn't get the job permanently.
- 43:00Speaker 1: You were helping a co worker out. Who Tommy, I've
- 43:03Speaker 1: been doing time? Hey? Who Tommy? Yeah, y'all look at
- 43:07Speaker 1: Tommy as a co worker. Hey, I don't see tim
- 43:10Speaker 1: and no, core, I've been doing Timmy for about twenty
- 43:13Speaker 1: five years. What did he mean to get? Co worker?
- 43:15Speaker 1: That's like? But this is bad. Yeah, this is baggage
- 43:19Speaker 1: from this is I can't believe. So okay, okay, tom
- 43:23Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I dropped the two thousands and
- 43:26Speaker 1: just make it thirty seven because because you're that's it.
- 43:37Speaker 1: We'll tell him while you were gone. Junior also did
- 43:40Speaker 1: a poem called it don't hurt to ask? It don't it?
- 43:44Speaker 1: Don't you know that? Yeah? Yeah, it don't hurt to ask.
- 43:51Speaker 1: It wasn't about you, was about doing your job. And
- 43:54Speaker 1: I just asked for a raise and yeah, still know.
- 43:57Speaker 1: But can I leave you with this? Go ahead on
- 43:59Speaker 1: what you It don't hurt the ass, and it don't
- 44:02Speaker 1: hurt for me to kick that ass. You better snap
- 44:10Speaker 1: your fingers. All right, all right, no man, coming up.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Don't let this soft voice fool you. Coming up next,
- 44:22Speaker 1: we'll have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right
- 44:24Speaker 1: after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show,
- 44:30Speaker 1: all right. Coming up at about four minutes after the hour,
- 44:33Speaker 1: it's my Strawberry letter for today and the subject is
- 44:36Speaker 1: random women in my home. Now that sounds self explained.
- 44:40Speaker 1: That's a fool Yeah, you don't know what's going on.
- 44:44Speaker 1: We'll find out in just a few because right now
- 44:47Speaker 1: it is time for today's praying phone call with the nephew.
- 44:51Speaker 1: But you got enough, well, sirless, Since my wife is gone, nuh,
- 44:54Speaker 1: I can get back to being me. Do you notice
- 44:58Speaker 1: I changed a little bit while she was Yeah, okay,
- 45:03Speaker 1: all right, get back to being stupid. This right here
- 45:05Speaker 1: is heart of a brother, Heart of a brother, God dog.
- 45:12Speaker 1: If you would hello, Hey, I'm trying to reach Alan.
- 45:18Speaker 1: This is Alan Alan. How you doing man? My name
- 45:21Speaker 1: is Bobby, Bobby Book. Uh, what what can I do
- 45:24Speaker 1: for you? I got your number, man from the from
- 45:27Speaker 1: the hospital. Did you just um within the last I
- 45:31Speaker 1: guess three four months? Did you get a heart transplant?
- 45:36Speaker 1: But a half months ago. Yeah, I did. I did
- 45:38Speaker 1: three and a half months ago. Okay, you how you
- 45:42Speaker 1: doing fitting? Man? Actually good? I'm actually up and around
- 45:45Speaker 1: faster than I thought it was gonna be, you know.
- 45:47Speaker 1: So I'm doing well. Thank you? Are you with are you?
- 45:51Speaker 1: Are you with the hospital? No? No, I'm not um. Actually,
- 45:55Speaker 1: you know, they gave me your number. Man. I hope
- 45:57Speaker 1: you Kate waited, but you you you actually? Uh the
- 46:02Speaker 1: heart that you got was from from my brother. Try
- 46:08Speaker 1: Oh my god, really yeah that's my brother, my brother. Oh,
- 46:12Speaker 1: I'm so sorry about your brother. But wow, I gotta
- 46:15Speaker 1: tell you he saved my life man. Yeah. Yeah yeah,
- 46:19Speaker 1: So so you know, I just want to call you man.
- 46:22Speaker 1: I hope you don't mind, you know, no, no, not
- 46:25Speaker 1: at all. It's kind of like a little bit of
- 46:27Speaker 1: my brothers. It's still living, you know what I mean?
- 46:29Speaker 1: It kind of it kind of feels like my brother's
- 46:31Speaker 1: still living. So that's a good thing. It's a good thing.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. Let me ask you this, man.
- 46:40Speaker 1: I'm just curious because you you Caucasian, right yeah yeah yeah,
- 46:44Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, do you feel any any different having
- 46:48Speaker 1: a black man's heart in your body? Cut? No, no,
- 46:53Speaker 1: I don't feel any difference. Uh no, Oh, I didn't
- 46:57Speaker 1: really think about it though. And this this is just me,
- 47:00Speaker 1: Me and the rest of the family feel good that
- 47:02Speaker 1: we knew what he was dedicated to and the things
- 47:04Speaker 1: that matter to him. Would you feel all right joining
- 47:09Speaker 1: the NAACP Uh? Is that are there? Some people are
- 47:13Speaker 1: gonna be upset that I joined? I mean, is that okay? Now? Well,
- 47:17Speaker 1: you know, I don't know about anybody being upset. Man,
- 47:20Speaker 1: It's just I know my brother that that's what he
- 47:22Speaker 1: was a part of, and you know, you you walking
- 47:25Speaker 1: around with his heart. Man, it would just feel different
- 47:28Speaker 1: than feel great, you know, to have to feel like
- 47:31Speaker 1: he would be back in there doing what he was
- 47:33Speaker 1: doing and fighting for for injustice for the black community.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Now you are democratic? A Republican? Well you know, I
- 47:41Speaker 1: mean honestly that I was Republican until Trump and now
- 47:45Speaker 1: I'm just really I'm kind of on the sense. I mean,
- 47:47Speaker 1: that guy's in the head. You did vote for Trump?
- 47:50Speaker 1: I did not, But I am a Republican, okay, you know,
- 47:53Speaker 1: because I'm just curious man about it. What I what
- 47:55Speaker 1: I would hate to see is you know, you you
- 47:57Speaker 1: over there in the voting booth, you know, with my
- 48:00Speaker 1: brother black Heart, and you and there, you know, voting Republican. Uh,
- 48:05Speaker 1: you know, and and that's something that I know my
- 48:07Speaker 1: brother wouldn't be doing. You know what I'm saying. So
- 48:09Speaker 1: I'm just I'm just asking, well, I mean, I'm not
- 48:12Speaker 1: happy with Trump, but if someone else in the Republican
- 48:14Speaker 1: party runs and I agree with them, I'm it's kind
- 48:18Speaker 1: of like it's my heart. Now, I can't change my
- 48:21Speaker 1: point of view just because of that. I mean, yeah,
- 48:23Speaker 1: but but but but what you're not gonna do, though, man,
- 48:27Speaker 1: is be in there with my brother black Heart, and
- 48:30Speaker 1: you up in there making some decisions that I know
- 48:32Speaker 1: my brother wouldn't do. You see what I'm saying. That's
- 48:35Speaker 1: the long way off, man. But I can't promise you that.
- 48:37Speaker 1: I mean, if somebody runs that I like, I mean,
- 48:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna vote the way I feel my heart and
- 48:43Speaker 1: my head tell me the one. Don't don't say what
- 48:47Speaker 1: my heart because that ain't your heart. You understand that
- 48:49Speaker 1: my brother hard So you got every right to ask
- 48:52Speaker 1: me what you think my brother would feel in his heart.
- 48:55Speaker 1: And I tell you you understand what I'm saying. I don't.
- 48:59Speaker 1: That's the way, you know, hey, man, Let me ask something.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Have you have you been like craving different kinds of
- 49:04Speaker 1: foods that you don't know need? Have you been looking
- 49:07Speaker 1: at I don't know? I mean girl like greens? Like
- 49:09Speaker 1: my brother ate a lot of greens. Did you do
- 49:11Speaker 1: you feel like you ge woes and greens sometimes? I
- 49:14Speaker 1: like greens occasionally? Yeah, okay, have all of a sudden,
- 49:18Speaker 1: do you like women who have big butts or all
- 49:21Speaker 1: of women in general? I didn't think about specifics, but
- 49:24Speaker 1: you know, if they're good looking, they're good looking. Well wait,
- 49:27Speaker 1: wait a minute, what kind of calls this man? I mean,
- 49:30Speaker 1: you're asking me all these random questions. Why what? I
- 49:33Speaker 1: don't understand where it's coming from. It's coming from my
- 49:37Speaker 1: brother's hawt. That's where it's coming from. You got my
- 49:40Speaker 1: brother's black heart inside of you. You know. Yeah, I'm
- 49:43Speaker 1: asking you. I'm asking you to do what my brother
- 49:46Speaker 1: would do, not what you would do. You want to
- 49:48Speaker 1: do it from your heart? You then you're doing it
- 49:50Speaker 1: from my brother's heart. When you first called me about
- 49:52Speaker 1: your brother, I was excited. Now I saying, how much
- 49:54Speaker 1: did the hospital give you? Just this number and you
- 49:57Speaker 1: get to call me up? That's privilege information. I shouldn't
- 50:00Speaker 1: get this call me and asking all these random questions. Man,
- 50:04Speaker 1: I just thought a heart test plan. Now it's starting
- 50:06Speaker 1: to get me worked up. So I'm not trying to
- 50:08Speaker 1: get you worked up. All I'm trying to man, Okay, okay,
- 50:11Speaker 1: well let me let me just come down. All I
- 50:12Speaker 1: know is you got try hard and inside of you,
- 50:15Speaker 1: and I'm trying to let you know the kind of
- 50:17Speaker 1: person Troy appeals. Okay, so let me let me it
- 50:20Speaker 1: has your music change? Are you listening to more R
- 50:22Speaker 1: and B? Now? I do like R and B, but
- 50:25Speaker 1: I listened to hard rock tale that hasn't changed. Because
- 50:27Speaker 1: what's in truth? Hard on stage in short? Hard? Do
- 50:31Speaker 1: you understand? So you got the hand that's in your
- 50:33Speaker 1: heart now Greens, big books in ACP. That's what I'm saying. Okay,
- 50:41Speaker 1: trying to tell you about Choy. What are you crying? Man,
- 50:45Speaker 1: I'm trying to tell you about Choy. Hey, Hey, Hey,
- 50:48Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Don't I know you miss your brother,
- 50:51Speaker 1: don't damn, I'm sorry. Okay, let me let me say this.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Let me say okay, since you got my brother hard,
- 50:59Speaker 1: I think the only right and me and you we
- 51:02Speaker 1: get together and go to go to a jay Z
- 51:05Speaker 1: call so together. I think that's the only right jay
- 51:08Speaker 1: Z and be honest it cause so we go to
- 51:10Speaker 1: gether because that's what me and my brother did. We
- 51:12Speaker 1: we will go see him perform. Well, I mean they
- 51:15Speaker 1: are to the best of all time. So am I
- 51:18Speaker 1: buying both the tickets? Oh? Yes, up, you got trouble
- 51:23Speaker 1: and you worry about who's gonna pay for some tickets.
- 51:25Speaker 1: I didn't know. I thought maybe you might want to
- 51:26Speaker 1: tweet your brother one last time. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, man, Yeah, no, no, okay, listen,
- 51:33Speaker 1: I'm really I'm really sorry. I mean I get upset.
- 51:35Speaker 1: I didn't mean the yell at I'm sorry. I'm really sorry.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Do you do you do you listen to black radio? Sometimes?
- 51:44Speaker 1: I do listen to black radio. Do you ever listen?
- 51:46Speaker 1: Is Steve Harvey more than this show boy? Yeah? He's
- 51:49Speaker 1: one of the best man I had to follow when

- 54:18Speaker 1: Here it is Strawberry Letter. Wow, thank you Sexy Marco Spoon, Chicago,
- 54:29Speaker 1: straight out of Chicago. Yeah, yeah, here we go. Subject
- 54:37Speaker 1: random women in my Home. Here we go. Dear Stephen Shirley,
- 54:41Speaker 1: My husband and I are both twenty eight years old
- 54:44Speaker 1: and we have a two year old daughter. He's white
- 54:46Speaker 1: and I'm black. He's a semi pro athlete and we
- 54:49Speaker 1: live in a nice community of young couples. I work
- 54:52Speaker 1: in hospital administration and we met when he came to
- 54:56Speaker 1: speak to our pediatric unit. We will be married a
- 54:59Speaker 1: year in dece if we make it. Because my husband
- 55:02Speaker 1: really showed out this summer. We got our backyard kitchen
- 55:06Speaker 1: done and we put a swim up pool. We put
- 55:09Speaker 1: a swim up bar in our pool, so he wanted
- 55:12Speaker 1: to have a big Fourth of July celebration. I loved
- 55:15Speaker 1: the idea, as long as everyone would be outside on
- 55:19Speaker 1: the patio, in the pool or out on the deck
- 55:22Speaker 1: by the lake. I planned for around thirty people, but
- 55:26Speaker 1: we ended up having close to one hundred people in
- 55:30Speaker 1: and around our hall. My husband kept telling me it
- 55:34Speaker 1: was cool, but my OCD and anxiety had me in
- 55:37Speaker 1: a frenzy all day. We made it through that day
- 55:40Speaker 1: without anything being broken or stolen. He promised to never
- 55:45Speaker 1: do that again, but he lied. Most weekends are a
- 55:49Speaker 1: free for all for him and his buddies, and he
- 55:51Speaker 1: allows his boys to bring random women to our home
- 55:54Speaker 1: to hang out in our pool. I do believe my
- 55:57Speaker 1: husband got married too soon because he's had the best
- 56:01Speaker 1: summer ever, doing cannonballs in the pool and drinking a
- 56:05Speaker 1: six pack a day. Now that football season is here,
- 56:08Speaker 1: they've moved to our man cave on Sundays and the
- 56:11Speaker 1: women are now all over my basement. I told my
- 56:14Speaker 1: husband that women are not allowed in our home, and
- 56:17Speaker 1: he accused me of being antisocial. And that's not it
- 56:20Speaker 1: at all, he said. His friends and guests can feel
- 56:23Speaker 1: my negativity, and it's not a good look. I am
- 56:26Speaker 1: trying to regain control of my house, not make new friends.
- 56:31Speaker 1: Am I being rude and unreasonable? Well, I won't say
- 56:35Speaker 1: you being unreasonable, but you're you're being a little a
- 56:40Speaker 1: little rude ish because it is your home. I get
- 56:44Speaker 1: that you do want to be comfortable in your home,
- 56:48Speaker 1: you know, and these people are guests in your home.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Do you want them there? No, you don't. My question
- 56:53Speaker 1: is don't they have homes? Why don't they host? You know,
- 56:57Speaker 1: some of these weekends that your husbands can't see to
- 57:00Speaker 1: stay away from spend the weekends at their houses. Sometimes
- 57:04Speaker 1: your husband is acting like he's back in the college
- 57:06Speaker 1: frat house, partying with his college buddies. This is immature
- 57:10Speaker 1: and it is disrespectful because you don't like it, and
- 57:13Speaker 1: you guys haven't even discussed this to try and find
- 57:16Speaker 1: some sort of happy medium. When does he spend time
- 57:19Speaker 1: with you and the child? Is what I want to know,
- 57:21Speaker 1: because that's not in the letter. He's just spending time
- 57:23Speaker 1: with his boys and they're random women. You never mentioned
- 57:27Speaker 1: that you guys do anything together. He's way more into
- 57:30Speaker 1: his friends, according to this letter than he isn't you
- 57:33Speaker 1: and the baby, And that's sad. That's not a good look.
- 57:36Speaker 1: He lied to you and promised he wouldn't invite them
- 57:39Speaker 1: over anymore after the first time, but they've been coming
- 57:41Speaker 1: ever since. You guys have a major problem because he
- 57:44Speaker 1: doesn't seem to care what you think or how you
- 57:47Speaker 1: feel about what he's got going on. He is worried
- 57:50Speaker 1: that his friends think you're negative and anti social, though
- 57:54Speaker 1: they went from outside at the pool to the man
- 57:56Speaker 1: cave inside the house, and it's just a matter of
- 57:59Speaker 1: time before they come up and invade the whole house
- 58:02Speaker 1: where you and the baby are. He could help you
- 58:04Speaker 1: regain control of the house, but he's not because he's
- 58:07Speaker 1: not interested in that. He's having too much fun doing
- 58:10Speaker 1: whatever he wants to do with his boys and his friends.
- 58:13Speaker 1: He's in too deep right now with his friends, and
- 58:15Speaker 1: I don't see an insight. Maybe and into this marriage though.
- 58:20Speaker 1: Wow yeah, Tommy, Wow. Right when I thought I wore
- 58:26Speaker 1: the crown of being stupid, somebody stepped seeing in the
- 58:30Speaker 1: most stupid than me. Wow. Now, listen, we thought it
- 58:34Speaker 1: was impossible to let me be real calling you you
- 58:38Speaker 1: you've come hung out in my place before. I got
- 58:40Speaker 1: all these backyard toys this man got. I got all
- 58:43Speaker 1: these backyard toys. But guess what I don't understand. There's
- 58:47Speaker 1: no way in the world we got random women right
- 58:51Speaker 1: at my house. Okay, any of the men that come
- 58:56Speaker 1: by my house and hang out with me, nine times
- 58:57Speaker 1: out of ten they married. If they married, they got
- 59:00Speaker 1: a girlfriend that we've been knowing. But don't nobody just
- 59:03Speaker 1: show up at my house with some random women. But
- 59:05Speaker 1: it's how stupid can you be? Are you serious? Now? Ever? Deadly?
- 59:11Speaker 1: The other fellas don't have a nice house. He must
- 59:14Speaker 1: have a house with all the money. He must have
- 59:16Speaker 1: all the doors. So this is the place to hang out.
- 59:20Speaker 1: But that has to be there has to be some respect,
- 59:24Speaker 1: and then you gotta compromise with your wife. That's just it.
- 59:28Speaker 1: If your wife cool with people coming up. Now, let
- 59:30Speaker 1: me say this, I didn't throw Christmas parties three hundred
- 59:33Speaker 1: people deep. Ain't ever doing that again? Yea ba are
- 59:39Speaker 1: we doing that again? When you throw these big shebangs,
- 59:42Speaker 1: you gotta be ready for everything that can go wrong.
- 59:45Speaker 1: Can go wrong, people telling up your house, people doing
- 59:47Speaker 1: this and that, but every weekend for your boys to
- 59:50Speaker 1: think that this is the spot. Come on, man, you
- 59:53Speaker 1: are straight disrespecting your wife. Ask your wife what she
- 59:57Speaker 1: can tolerate and then stay on the other side of that.
- 59:59Speaker 1: That's you gotta do. It's just being respected it. Yeah,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: you don't lose your damn wife acting a damn food,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: acting like you twenty five years old if you don't
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: get yourself to gather doing cannonballs in the pool. What
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: old last man still doing cannonball? Yeah? Wow, Yeah, this
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: is craziness right, Yeah, he's still too old. Ahmin o cannonball?
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: All right, hang on, everybody, hang on. Coming up in
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: twenty three minutes after the hour, we'll have part two
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: of Steve's response will also here from Junior Today's subject
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: random women in my home. We'll get back into it
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: right after this you're listening morning show. All right, we're
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: gonna recap today's Strawberry letter. The subject is random women
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: in my home. Uh. This woman wrote in she and
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: her husband are both twenty eight years old. They have
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: a two year old daughter. He's white, she's black. He's
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: a semi pro athlete. They live in a nice community
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: amongst young couples. They got the backyard done. They have
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: a pool where with a swim up bar and a
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: kitchen and all this so they can barbecue outside. They
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: have a lake. You know, the backyard is really really nice.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: So they wanted to have a big Fourth of July
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: weekend party and she, the wife, wanted to have about
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: thirty or so people. Husband got into it turned into
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: about one hundred people. He has so much fun till
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: every weekend thereafter he's having people over to the house.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: I mean they moved from the when football season started,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: they moved from the backyard into the man cave in
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: the basement. And the problem with that is his buddies
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: bringing all these random women and they're just walking through
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: her house. So she's trying to get him to see
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: that this is wrong, but he's telling her that his
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: buddies think that she's antisocial and she's negative. So she's like, no,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: it's not that. I just want to regain control of
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: my house, not make new friends. She wants to know
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: she's being rude or unreasonable. Junior. Yeah, I'll tell you
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: what I got right now. You know this is I'm
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: with Timmy. This is absolutely stupid. A hundred people come
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: to your backyard and you know, play on your Patti
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: y'all all in your pool, swimming up to the bar,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: all of that. But I noticed something here, tim and
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: I just want you to go with me on this time.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: I know it's something we need to flip this. See,
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: he don't care about random people. You don't care about
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: random people just to see let me let me let
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: me show you work in hospital administer administration, Okay, random
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: people being there all the time. So what I think
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: we need to do that This may be a little extreme,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: but we need to drain this pool. Drain this pool,
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: get all the water out. Okay, now, now now turn
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: your backyard into an urgent care. Here we go, Well,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: here comes some random ass people. They all the way
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: turn that day that man can't turn to a full
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: person tree Yard Center because you fn't get your comfort
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: with your co workers to come work your whole urgent

- 1:03:09Speaker 1: hundred of y'all and then you don't be like to
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: just be hot out over the inter common house. Gutshot
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: victim on the way, he comes some random people right now.

- 1:03:56Speaker 1: you did it now I'm doing it. He who is that?
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: I'm standing in the kitchen I don't know, waiting on
