- 0:44Speaker 1: airing on the A E Network. Biography Bobby Brown and

- 0:51Speaker 1: the four episodes that recently viewed. Biography Bobby Brown. Please
- 0:55Speaker 1: welcome to Money Making Conversations master Class. The very talented
- 0:59Speaker 1: duo Apower, a couple Bobby Brown and Alicia et ric bound.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Welcome to money making conversation about the class. Hello, Sha,
- 1:07Speaker 1: thank you for having us. You know, you know what
- 1:09Speaker 1: I want to see, Bobby. You know I would like
- 1:10Speaker 1: to keep that energy up. You know, it's about energy
- 1:13Speaker 1: with you. Man. When the last time we connected was
- 1:16Speaker 1: such a circulus sixty years ago, had the season and
- 1:18Speaker 1: out there I took away to pack ticket home, dropped
- 1:21Speaker 1: it on me some chicken and brother, it was good man,
- 1:24Speaker 1: it was really really good. Brother. But this this whole series,
- 1:28Speaker 1: at least here when you talk about it, because you're
- 1:30Speaker 1: serving as one of the executive producers. You mentioned how
- 1:33Speaker 1: your relationship, how y'all met, and how I played out
- 1:36Speaker 1: along the way, and now you have a very successful
- 1:39Speaker 1: not only a marriage as a as a loving couple,
- 1:42Speaker 1: but a business couple. How does that work in this
- 1:45Speaker 1: world because you're also managing as well. Talk to us
- 1:48Speaker 1: right quick? Yeah, I think, um, you know, positive relationships
- 1:53Speaker 1: are important. And when Bobby and I started working together first,
- 1:57Speaker 1: we uh just fit perfectly on um like he was
- 2:02Speaker 1: talented with and what I could execute for him. So
- 2:06Speaker 1: the management side kind of worked real uh seamlessly, which
- 2:11Speaker 1: is very nice, you know. Um. Obviously than getting into
- 2:14Speaker 1: our personal relationship. We just have to find balance. Like
- 2:18Speaker 1: everything in life, you know, we have to respect one
- 2:20Speaker 1: another as individuals. We have to um uh support one another,
- 2:25Speaker 1: and you know, you have to find that balance, which
- 2:28Speaker 1: is important when you have home life and work life.
- 2:31Speaker 1: But it's been a natural progression for us to start
- 2:35Speaker 1: businesses together, the Bobby Brown food line, as you mentioned,
- 2:39Speaker 1: you know, and um a lot of the projects that
- 2:42Speaker 1: Bobby handles. You know, we do everything together. We um
- 2:46Speaker 1: bring our best tools to the game, and we are teammates.
- 2:50Speaker 1: That's really how it works. A key words she was
- 2:54Speaker 1: saying continually in her conversation that she spoke was balance
- 2:58Speaker 1: and Bobby, the word balance, I think in this four
- 3:01Speaker 1: episode is I think a term that really fit you.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Felt like you was always trying to find your balance,
- 3:07Speaker 1: your place. You know, we won't talk for a minute.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Was just not a quick interview, but let's let's talk
- 3:13Speaker 1: about that balance. Especially the first episode talks about where
- 3:16Speaker 1: you grew up and then as you went through life
- 3:19Speaker 1: finding your manhood. Let's talk about that. And then she
- 3:21Speaker 1: says management, which we know it early on you were
- 3:24Speaker 1: like all of you guys were taking advantage of as
- 3:27Speaker 1: kids because there was no balance. Talk about that, Bobby Well.
- 3:32Speaker 1: In the beginning of my career, of course, um with
- 3:36Speaker 1: new addition, there were you know, five eagles you know,
- 3:42Speaker 1: you know, wanted to go a certain direction, wanted to
- 3:46Speaker 1: be a certain way, and that's where I had to
- 3:51Speaker 1: find myself, where where I fit in in the group
- 3:55Speaker 1: and where I fit in in life period UM with me,
- 4:00Speaker 1: I I I I tend to um judge myself a
- 4:05Speaker 1: little harshly, uh, because of because of the difficulties I've
- 4:10Speaker 1: had when as I was growing up. But you know,
- 4:15Speaker 1: learning to love myself and learning to treat myself with
- 4:19Speaker 1: respect and learning to treat others with the same respect. UM,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I think has helped me U progress in in in
- 4:27Speaker 1: in a major way. In that major way has allowed
- 4:30Speaker 1: me to look at the series that was very honest
- 4:33Speaker 1: I felt, and and as you sat there, there's a
- 4:37Speaker 1: lot of reflection I felt in this series. And you know,
- 4:41Speaker 1: I know, I know they're very moments of that reflection.
- 4:44Speaker 1: But what can you tell us a couple of moments
- 4:46Speaker 1: and that reflection Because it's like writing a book, and
- 4:48Speaker 1: you know what I'm talking with Lizy. You know we're
- 4:50Speaker 1: writing a book. You start remembering things when they come
- 4:52Speaker 1: back and go, oh, I forgot to say this. Did
- 4:56Speaker 1: you leave it all on the table, Bobby, or you
- 4:58Speaker 1: said I should added this? Hm, No, we left it
- 5:01Speaker 1: all a lot of time. This became very therapeutic. Yes, yes,
- 5:10Speaker 1: to get everything out and get the cobwebs out and
- 5:14Speaker 1: be able to move forward with life on on my terms,
- 5:18Speaker 1: you know, on good terms. Um was everything for me.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I also think that timing is everything, you know, for
- 5:26Speaker 1: us in our lives, and this was the perfect time
- 5:30Speaker 1: for this documentary to be uh, to come to light. Uh.
- 5:36Speaker 1: It's been approached to us before and we have considered
- 5:39Speaker 1: doing it as well as the series. But timing is
- 5:42Speaker 1: everything in life, you know. Obviously Bobby has gone through,
- 5:47Speaker 1: our whole family has gone through quite a bit of
- 5:50Speaker 1: loss and a lot of highs and some lows that
- 5:53Speaker 1: are major. But it's really where you are and figuring
- 5:57Speaker 1: out where you're going right and everything is not always
- 6:01Speaker 1: for right now. You have to really know when the
- 6:05Speaker 1: timing is aligned you and I think for Bobby, like
- 6:09Speaker 1: he mentioned, this was very therapeutic for all of our
- 6:12Speaker 1: family and for him to express his emotions and touch
- 6:15Speaker 1: upon things that like you said, you may have forgotten,
- 6:18Speaker 1: but then you're reminding real quick and it takes you
- 6:21Speaker 1: right back there. You know. I wish it had added.
- 6:25Speaker 1: It was a very fun bonent that Bobby and I
- 6:27Speaker 1: had when it was the Neighborhood Awards called the Hoody
- 6:29Speaker 1: Awards in Vegas in Vegas, and we kept saying that.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Steve always said, Man, you think Bobby go jump on
- 6:36Speaker 1: that car? I said, you know, Bobby, because we were
- 6:38Speaker 1: at the front of the stage there was a Forward
- 6:40Speaker 1: car that was our title sponsor, our titles, you know,
- 6:44Speaker 1: and everybody we've done this show for sixteen years, nobody
- 6:48Speaker 1: has ever jumped on the car. You have who jumped
- 6:51Speaker 1: on the car Bobby Brow for the place lost their mind, Bob.
- 6:55Speaker 1: But that's how you were, man. You always took it
- 6:58Speaker 1: and this and I'm smiling us. I was laughing so
- 7:01Speaker 1: hard and back and then my sponsor Forward came up.
- 7:04Speaker 1: They go, is he standing on our car? And go yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 7:08Speaker 1: in the crowd going crazy and she said, yeah, that's
- 7:11Speaker 1: that's good Brandy, that's good Brandon. So but that's that's
- 7:17Speaker 1: what you that's that's who you are, man. You are
- 7:20Speaker 1: a guy who pushes it to the edge. But still
- 7:23Speaker 1: understands respects that there's this is about entertainment, correct, Yes,
- 7:29Speaker 1: it is. It's always about entertainment with me. Um, That's
- 7:33Speaker 1: that's what I've always dreamed. That's what I dreamed of,
- 7:37Speaker 1: was being the greatest entertainer. I've watched people like Sammy
- 7:42Speaker 1: Davis and Michael Jackson and Presley, um and and just
- 7:47Speaker 1: made myself, you know, try to conform myself into all
- 7:52Speaker 1: three of those individuals, you know, um and through a
- 7:56Speaker 1: little Rick James and printing there with him. But entertainment
- 8:01Speaker 1: is everything for me, man. You know, Um, I don't
- 8:06Speaker 1: know where i'd be without as as well as I
- 8:09Speaker 1: guess you could say a little hip gyration from Elvis
- 8:11Speaker 1: Presley because them hips, them hips were gyrating. Brother, Yeah, yeah,
- 8:16Speaker 1: that's at least he was. I was looking at this,
- 8:24Speaker 1: I said, this boy either gonna. He didn't break his back,
- 8:27Speaker 1: he didn't break his steel, he didn't throw his should
- 8:29Speaker 1: out of way, because you are just a gyrating food
- 8:33Speaker 1: Bobby Brown. Listen, I can I can attest that it
- 8:37Speaker 1: is something in the blood because little stun Cashes can
- 8:41Speaker 1: shake his hips still. So it's natural we'll be right
- 8:46Speaker 1: back with more money making Conversations Masterclass with Rushan McDonald.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Now let's return to money Making Conversations Masterclass with Rushan McDonald.
- 8:58Speaker 1: You know you too, ord with uh, there was a
- 9:02Speaker 1: moment in the Doctors it talks about Rick James where
- 9:05Speaker 1: you were sitting on the side and that kind of
- 9:07Speaker 1: like and like you said, you you you saw a
- 9:09Speaker 1: guy who took it to the edge. The guy left
- 9:11Speaker 1: it on the stage. You who who was irreverent in
- 9:16Speaker 1: his reaction to what you thought of him. He's gonna
- 9:18Speaker 1: tell you what he thinks of himself and then projected
- 9:21Speaker 1: in his performances. What impact did Rick havill you? Because
- 9:24Speaker 1: you mentioned his name Ria, Michael Jackson and things like
- 9:27Speaker 1: these impactful talents. But Rick James is particularly mentioned in
- 9:31Speaker 1: the docuseries. Yes, Rick James played a major part in
- 9:36Speaker 1: my life just from being being, um, a solid a
- 9:42Speaker 1: solid cat. He was a solid you know individual that
- 9:46Speaker 1: that taught me most of most of what I know
- 9:49Speaker 1: about entertaining, about being on stage, about you know, showmanship,
- 9:55Speaker 1: about being faithful for what I have know in the history. Um,
- 10:03Speaker 1: he was just a really good mentor. Absolutely and your
- 10:07Speaker 1: thoughts on that, Alicia, Yeah, I also feel that he
- 10:11Speaker 1: was very important in his transition from a boy band
- 10:16Speaker 1: to a solo artist. That was very major. And that's
- 10:19Speaker 1: when Bobby really owned the stage and owned that because
- 10:23Speaker 1: he wanted to be something different than what we knew
- 10:27Speaker 1: him in New Edition. He really became Bobby Brown. You know,
- 10:31Speaker 1: that was an important time for him, and I know
- 10:34Speaker 1: Rick James was um very imperative at that time. And
- 10:37Speaker 1: that's what we was talking talking about. The word balance, balance,
- 10:40Speaker 1: finding who you are. But you're a young man. You
- 10:44Speaker 1: would like to say you got discovered, and you know
- 10:47Speaker 1: it was more important when that two and fifty dollars
- 10:49Speaker 1: than getting a contract when you got discovered about Morris Starr,
- 10:52Speaker 1: because that's the life, that's the poverty level or the
- 10:54Speaker 1: lifestyle level that you were living at that time. Where's
- 10:57Speaker 1: the showing the money versus the opportunity. That was a balace.
- 11:01Speaker 1: And then as you you know, I love every time
- 11:03Speaker 1: Ricky Bell was interviewed, he always called you Bob, and
- 11:06Speaker 1: everybody was saying, Bobby, I know he is Bobby Brown.
- 11:08Speaker 1: He called you Bob. Talk about the relationship that you
- 11:11Speaker 1: have with those young men, Bob, as Ricky Barrel always
- 11:16Speaker 1: called you. The relationship that I have with my brothers
- 11:21Speaker 1: or something. So um, they are they are. They're just there.
- 11:28Speaker 1: You know, They're always there for me. And each time
- 11:30Speaker 1: I need them, they they've been there, you know, through
- 11:35Speaker 1: my ups and downs. You know, they don't judge me.
- 11:38Speaker 1: You know, they just they just solid, you know, they
- 11:42Speaker 1: just they believe in what I believe in. And that's
- 11:46Speaker 1: the truth and honesty. Well, they did judge you one time.
- 11:50Speaker 1: That was in the Oka Oakland and that's when all
- 11:58Speaker 1: Okay ncland was was the show where uh new edition
- 12:04Speaker 1: within different directions. But I think that when you were
- 12:07Speaker 1: doing something, and I've been there to team and say,
- 12:10Speaker 1: you know you're doing something is yeah, you're making money,
- 12:13Speaker 1: but you're frustrated when you wake up in the morning,
- 12:15Speaker 1: when you go to sleep, or you're being we always
- 12:18Speaker 1: tell people is that you can make money being somebody else,
- 12:21Speaker 1: But when you fall down, can you get up being
- 12:23Speaker 1: that person that you are not? And I felt that
- 12:26Speaker 1: that's what you were, That's what you were battling the
- 12:28Speaker 1: whole time. You're just were blessed an opportunity, but you
- 12:32Speaker 1: could not be yourself? What was going through your mind?
- 12:35Speaker 1: And I'm gonna ask you that, Bobby. And then want
- 12:37Speaker 1: you were starting because you you got to see it
- 12:39Speaker 1: because you was in the industry and you got to
- 12:40Speaker 1: see it, get to hear the rumors and then the
- 12:43Speaker 1: feedback on all this's going down. Talk to us right quick, Bobby.
- 12:47Speaker 1: What was going through my mind was, you know, um
- 12:51Speaker 1: that I needed to I needed to release. I needed
- 12:54Speaker 1: to release all of the things that I was feeling inside.
- 12:59Speaker 1: You know, So me being a solo artist, uh really
- 13:05Speaker 1: was was? It was inevitable? You know, I was supposed
- 13:11Speaker 1: to be a solo artist in the beginning, but new
- 13:14Speaker 1: addition took me to the heights that I was. I
- 13:17Speaker 1: that that got me through the dual. Um, you know,
- 13:22Speaker 1: becoming a solo artist was you know, my main goal. Anyway.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I think it's great that you'll see in the documentary
- 13:28Speaker 1: as well. Uh, Johnny, I believe and Ricky and Bobby
- 13:32Speaker 1: are have talking about exactly that when they were younger,
- 13:38Speaker 1: and you know, the things that were being told to
- 13:41Speaker 1: them to you know, make sure Bobby was kicked out
- 13:44Speaker 1: of the group basically because it was going to harm them,
- 13:48Speaker 1: instead of embracing Bobby becoming an individual because this was
- 13:52Speaker 1: supposed to be you know, just so tight cookie cutter
- 13:56Speaker 1: kind of tight, and Bobby was going through growing pains.
- 13:59Speaker 1: He needed to express himself and he needed to do
- 14:02Speaker 1: something different on stage, and we're just happy that he
- 14:05Speaker 1: got the opportunity to do it. Well. You know, the
- 14:07Speaker 1: interesting thing about it is that you know, I'm older
- 14:10Speaker 1: than both for you too, so and that's a good
- 14:12Speaker 1: thing because of the fact that I get to see
- 14:15Speaker 1: life different and a different set of eyes and the
- 14:18Speaker 1: new edition. When the when the Candian Girl came out,
- 14:22Speaker 1: it's struck positive in my community because you know, we
- 14:24Speaker 1: didn't have we all these little white groups came out,
- 14:27Speaker 1: and when y'all came out, man, it was like wow,
- 14:30Speaker 1: you know, it really was a wow, Bobby, It really
- 14:32Speaker 1: was a new addition, was a wow for the black
- 14:34Speaker 1: community because of the fact that you know, the Jackson
- 14:38Speaker 1: fives don't count, they don't count, you know. You know,
- 14:41Speaker 1: but you guys were like me, and I was a
- 14:44Speaker 1: young black boy teenagers and moved into manhood. And seeing
- 14:48Speaker 1: y'all talk in and and and react and move and
- 14:52Speaker 1: dance and seeing other women that I won't want y'all,
- 14:56Speaker 1: that was a lot to take in. But also I
- 15:01Speaker 1: wanted to be you know, because I grew up wanting
- 15:02Speaker 1: to be Michael Jackson. Then I shifted and I wanted
- 15:05Speaker 1: to be Bobby Brown. You know what I'm saying, that's
- 15:07Speaker 1: that's two totally different people. You turned on a different
- 15:13Speaker 1: light switch for a lot of black teenagers and black
- 15:17Speaker 1: grown men because we couldn't be Michael Jackson. But boy,
- 15:24Speaker 1: I could beat Bobby Brown. He dressed like me, he
- 15:28Speaker 1: walked like me, he parted like me. He did things
- 15:31Speaker 1: on stage and I wish I could do. The women
- 15:33Speaker 1: were clamoring on him. You know, Michael Jackson w he
- 15:36Speaker 1: you know he wasn't you know he was knew that
- 15:39Speaker 1: he was just out there the perform You really wanted
- 15:41Speaker 1: every girl in that stadium to want you. That's a
- 15:45Speaker 1: powerful poor brother, and I thank you for that. You're
- 15:49Speaker 1: so welcome. But talking about that, because that was a crisipal,
- 15:53Speaker 1: that was like to say, that's a lot of work.
- 15:56Speaker 1: I've been a performance a standard command comedian. I've been
- 15:58Speaker 1: in front the twenty thou. I know what you walk
- 16:02Speaker 1: on stage. There's a responsibility. When you say hello, do
- 16:05Speaker 1: you say good night? What do people take away from you?
- 16:09Speaker 1: My takeaway was like, Wow, what was your takeaway when
- 16:13Speaker 1: you was out there? My takeaway was just loving, loving
- 16:18Speaker 1: every moment of I mean every moment of it. Um,
- 16:23Speaker 1: that that was that was my that was my that
- 16:26Speaker 1: was my school, that was my home, that was my church,
- 16:30Speaker 1: that was that was my everything. Just being on stage
- 16:33Speaker 1: and performing from people. Um I I still get a
- 16:38Speaker 1: big kick out of it, you know. Um it's still
- 16:42Speaker 1: something that that that just just makes me boil inside. Right, right, people,
- 16:50Speaker 1: at least you when I when I when I told you,
- 16:52Speaker 1: when you hear my craziness looking at this young man
- 16:54Speaker 1: here and how he affected me? And and what what
- 16:59Speaker 1: are your thoughts? You know, because I'm not I'm sure
- 17:01Speaker 1: I'm not the first person said that. Even people in
- 17:03Speaker 1: the video and the doctor sries talk about celebrities talk
- 17:06Speaker 1: about how you how they they saw you. It was
- 17:09Speaker 1: it was y'all out the performing, but they zeroed in
- 17:13Speaker 1: on you and what you were doing, how you were performing,
- 17:16Speaker 1: how you were interacting, your point of view. I think
- 17:18Speaker 1: we should say that very clearly you had a point
- 17:21Speaker 1: of view. You were just fighting to have it hurt. Absolutely.
- 17:26Speaker 1: I agree with what you said. I mean, obviously I
- 17:30Speaker 1: witnessed and grew up with Bobby a New edition as well,
- 17:33Speaker 1: But Bobby always had that star fact that he came
- 17:37Speaker 1: on that stage and demanded the attention, right, that's something
- 17:42Speaker 1: that you know, not everybody has, and he maximized that.
- 17:46Speaker 1: You know, he took that to another level. I mean,
- 17:48Speaker 1: you can't forget seeing a Bobby Brown concert without remembering
- 17:52Speaker 1: coming out in his throne, bringing the girls up on
- 17:56Speaker 1: stage and really giving it to them and really making
- 17:59Speaker 1: this a show that you talked about forever. You know,
- 18:02Speaker 1: you talked about it, We still talk about it. But
- 18:05Speaker 1: that cure entertainment guest that he has is wow. I
- 18:11Speaker 1: agree with you that when at least when he jumped
- 18:15Speaker 1: on top of that forward car in La Vegas, I
- 18:18Speaker 1: went wow, Wow, you don't know what think the thousands
- 18:22Speaker 1: of people, you know what I'm saying, and he just
- 18:25Speaker 1: did it. I went wow, And I said, you know,
- 18:28Speaker 1: I knew what was gonna happen. And that was a
- 18:31Speaker 1: good thing because he gave me what I expected from him,
- 18:34Speaker 1: which is maximum performance, maximum wow. And that's that's the
- 18:38Speaker 1: beauty of what I what I took away. Because there's
- 18:40Speaker 1: some really nice moments in this biography. I think the
- 18:44Speaker 1: most touching was the moment that you moments that you
- 18:48Speaker 1: shared with us. Sure, talk about that the moments with us.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Um that was really special to me because he's one
- 18:56Speaker 1: of the individuals in this entertainment field that I've really respect.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I really Uh. I think he's doing a great job
- 19:04Speaker 1: doing what he does best, and that's entertained. Um. He
- 19:09Speaker 1: came to me when he was just a young young Yes,
- 19:13Speaker 1: they show it too. Yeah, I wanted to get out
- 19:17Speaker 1: and and and do it. And I just just embraced
- 19:21Speaker 1: him in my mom's and and made sure that he
- 19:24Speaker 1: he went the right directions as far as you know,
- 19:28Speaker 1: his career was concerned. Um, Us was a really talented
- 19:31Speaker 1: brother and I'm just glad to know him as a friend.
- 19:37Speaker 1: We'll be right back with more Money Making Conversations Masterclass
- 19:40Speaker 1: with Rushan McDonald. Now let's return to Money Making Conversations
- 19:46Speaker 1: Masterclass with Rushan McDonald. Well, you know this show was
- 19:50Speaker 1: filled with many celebrities because you know vivis in there.
- 19:54Speaker 1: You know he's just got his tight T shirt on
- 19:56Speaker 1: showing under everything like you've been throw down and everything.
- 20:01Speaker 1: And you know Ricky Bell's in there, of course, Ralph
- 20:05Speaker 1: trans Van and uh running the vote. It's just a
- 20:08Speaker 1: group or and then when you when you look at
- 20:10Speaker 1: the you know Key Swere, that's my board, Captain Sexy
- 20:13Speaker 1: in there, you know Ussher, you know Jermaine Dupris in
- 20:16Speaker 1: their baby phase. It's just a lot of other professionals
- 20:21Speaker 1: in the industry that commented possibly about you know, we all,
- 20:26Speaker 1: you know, we all saw a part of history Bobby
- 20:29Speaker 1: with you and when you got the Bobby Brown Way
- 20:34Speaker 1: in Boston Roxbury, that is probably to be out of
- 20:38Speaker 1: the four episodes. It was a profound moment for me
- 20:43Speaker 1: to see happened. Tells us about that energy because you
- 20:46Speaker 1: know it was on tape, but it was a build
- 20:48Speaker 1: up to that moment. You know, the mayor was there
- 20:51Speaker 1: for you. Yeah, a little black boy from Roxbury. What's
- 20:56Speaker 1: supposed to make it bipolar? You know what I'm saying, Well,
- 20:59Speaker 1: it's supposed to be anywhere there there, Um it was.
- 21:04Speaker 1: It was definitely a big surprise, Um for me. We're
- 21:08Speaker 1: just going to film, you know, we were just going
- 21:12Speaker 1: to film Michael Bivins. Um, all of a sudden, here's this,
- 21:18Speaker 1: He's the mayor and all of these people out there
- 21:22Speaker 1: to give me a street, I mean to for for
- 21:27Speaker 1: me to have a street in Boston is just amazing.
- 21:32Speaker 1: I mean knowing that I ran through all of them
- 21:34Speaker 1: streets with uh with some spunk, absolutely, absolutely absolutely, you know,
- 21:43Speaker 1: and putting this all together a lesia. You know, it's
- 21:45Speaker 1: four episodes. You know this, it's called the Beginning, and
- 21:48Speaker 1: then the career, and then the you know, then the
- 21:51Speaker 1: Whitney relationship, and then moving to the pain, the pain.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I call it the Pain episode. And when when you
- 21:58Speaker 1: talk about that, you know, you you've you've drawn you
- 22:01Speaker 1: pulled him out, and you've helped him get out of
- 22:03Speaker 1: that darkness, out of that pains, you know, and you
- 22:06Speaker 1: know because I've seen you know, Bobby, and you know,
- 22:09Speaker 1: we've been around and you know, because I was Steve
- 22:12Speaker 1: Harvey all the time and music and interviewed him sitting
- 22:15Speaker 1: rooms together and he may not even remember, but I've
- 22:17Speaker 1: always been there champion him and believing that there's a
- 22:22Speaker 1: better opportunity. You just need to write people around him.
- 22:25Speaker 1: And you came in and you all that right person,
- 22:27Speaker 1: that trust factor, that balance that we've been talking about
- 22:30Speaker 1: this entire show talking about pulling him out of that darkness,
- 22:33Speaker 1: those dark spaces. Yeah, you're absolutely going to be able
- 22:38Speaker 1: to experience that in this four part series of you know,
- 22:42Speaker 1: all the stuff Bobby has been through as well as
- 22:45Speaker 1: from his childhood and moving on and carrying it with you,
- 22:48Speaker 1: you know. Um, we don't stop and let that pain
- 22:52Speaker 1: or work through that enough. That's how you come out
- 22:55Speaker 1: of the darkness. I mean a lot of prayer as well. Um.
- 22:58Speaker 1: But yeah, it's been a journey to say the least.
- 23:02Speaker 1: But you know, when I knew Bob, Bobby and back
- 23:08Speaker 1: Bob in those younger years and you'll get more of
- 23:17Speaker 1: that as well in this docuseries. And so watching him
- 23:20Speaker 1: grow and become a man and having the challenges and battles,
- 23:24Speaker 1: you know, you just want someone to be solid by
- 23:28Speaker 1: your side, and even if that's just your friend, you know,
- 23:31Speaker 1: you have to be able to trust in something and
- 23:33Speaker 1: someone or something bigger than yourself. And so, um, yeah,
- 23:39Speaker 1: we have come through the fire and you know, we
- 23:42Speaker 1: see light and we are just living our lives with gratitude.
- 23:47Speaker 1: It's just about really being still sometimes and just really
- 23:51Speaker 1: living in gratitude of the now, because if you live
- 23:55Speaker 1: in the past, it's just sometimes too overwhelming, you know.
- 23:58Speaker 1: And you'll see the tools that we uh use to
- 24:02Speaker 1: help ourselves. Absolutely. You have two projects here on the
- 24:06Speaker 1: A and E Network this is the biography of Bobby Brown,
- 24:09Speaker 1: and then you have a reality dr Sears coming up
- 24:11Speaker 1: Bobby Brown every little step. Can you give us some
- 24:14Speaker 1: little teasers about what that's gonna be about how many
- 24:17Speaker 1: episodes you guys are gonna tape? Can you give me
- 24:19Speaker 1: just a little drop some nuggets on me, miss executive producer?
- 24:22Speaker 1: Come on, Bobby quiet, let uk, Let let me talk.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Let thank come on, Lisa. Well, you know that this
- 24:31Speaker 1: series is gonna be a twelve episode series we're super
- 24:34Speaker 1: excited about. You'll see the first episode right after the
- 24:37Speaker 1: docuse series. Um a docu documentary, I'm sorry on met one,
- 24:42Speaker 1: So it'll continue now. They'll pick up basically where you
- 24:45Speaker 1: see Bobby's life right with myself and our children that live,
- 24:50Speaker 1: our three little ones that live with us, and you'll
- 24:52Speaker 1: get some insight to the older children as well, which
- 24:55Speaker 1: is nice. But how we live daily as a family.
- 24:58Speaker 1: You know, there's not enough example of a black family
- 25:01Speaker 1: that have a mother and a father in the house.
- 25:03Speaker 1: We just need to see more of this. You know,
- 25:05Speaker 1: this is reality because we're just allowing you to see
- 25:08Speaker 1: us as who we are, and you're gonna see a
- 25:12Speaker 1: lot of um, what Bobby does best entertain right is
- 25:17Speaker 1: natural state. He's not on stage, but in our house
- 25:21Speaker 1: we act like it's stage all the time. We have
- 25:24Speaker 1: kids that love to dance. You want to say something,
- 25:27Speaker 1: at least he want to say something. Come on, come on, Bob,
- 25:31Speaker 1: Come on, Bob, come on. No, no, I don't have
- 25:33Speaker 1: anything to sign ahead. I love it, but I love it.
- 25:38Speaker 1: You know, it's different for me in front of the camera.
- 25:40Speaker 1: But I'll tell you that Bobby is as entertaining as ever.
- 25:43Speaker 1: And you guys just love it. It's endearing, it's intimate.
- 25:48Speaker 1: You know, it's uh celebrated and uh we don't really
- 25:53Speaker 1: we don't really uh you know say anything is off
- 25:57Speaker 1: limits really basically. So it's a it's a PG, you know,
- 26:02Speaker 1: it's a family uh something for everybody show. Well, I
- 26:09Speaker 1: want to thank both for y'all. You know again, Uh,
- 26:11Speaker 1: it's always a blessing. When I talked to you too,
- 26:13Speaker 1: you you're you're so charming, so honest, and the four
- 26:17Speaker 1: part Doctor Sries is a muss watch. It's a musswatch
- 26:20Speaker 1: because it's compelling, it's honest, and also you're part of history, brother,
- 26:24Speaker 1: you really are. You're part of my life. You're part
- 26:27Speaker 1: of every of Americana pop culture. R and b um.

- 26:37Speaker 1: you did um uh. We worked together with Beyonce say
- 26:41Speaker 1: and we remember you're Steve. When you was on that
- 26:43Speaker 1: that's when I realized you could act with with the
