- 2:09Speaker 1: Come on dig me now. One and only. Steve Harvey
- 2:14Speaker 1: got a radio show. Uh huh, Steve Harvey got a
- 2:17Speaker 1: radio show. Yeah. Man, oh boh, boh boy man. God
- 2:22Speaker 1: has been good to me. I can't even I can't
- 2:27Speaker 1: even put it into words, man, but I try, though,
- 2:30Speaker 1: I try, try try. God does things for me just
- 2:34Speaker 1: right on time. He said, he's so cool with it.
- 2:37Speaker 1: And I happened to run across Joel Oldstein on television
- 2:42Speaker 1: like I often do all the time, and I was
- 2:47Speaker 1: sitting there and he had such a timely message for me.
- 2:52Speaker 1: A part of it was something that I've said oftentimes
- 2:56Speaker 1: about if you really really want to be successful, if
- 3:01Speaker 1: you really really want to change, if you really really
- 3:05Speaker 1: want to prosper if you really really want to achieve greatness,
- 3:08Speaker 1: if you really really want to have something in life
- 3:11Speaker 1: that's worth having, if you really really want to accomplish
- 3:14Speaker 1: your goals, you got to push through all of it.
- 3:20Speaker 1: He said that when you get closer to it, the
- 3:24Speaker 1: more difficult it becomes. Did you hear me? He said,
- 3:29Speaker 1: the closer you get to what it is you want
- 3:32Speaker 1: or you need, or you have to have, or or
- 3:36Speaker 1: you would love to be, it gets a little bit
- 3:39Speaker 1: more difficult when you get closer. He told this story
- 3:45Speaker 1: that's in the Bible that I've never heard before. This
- 3:50Speaker 1: is what he said. He said that was a man
- 3:53Speaker 1: who was paralyzed, and he had heard that Jesus was
- 4:00Speaker 1: at a house, and so he wanted to get there.
- 4:04Speaker 1: So he convinced four of his friends to put him
- 4:10Speaker 1: on a stretcher and carry him for hours to get
- 4:15Speaker 1: to this house where Jesus was speaking. He said that
- 4:22Speaker 1: along the way, these friends said that they went along
- 4:28Speaker 1: because he had so much faith that if he could
- 4:30Speaker 1: just get to him, it could be better that he
- 4:34Speaker 1: could if he could just get over there and he
- 4:37Speaker 1: could see him, that he might have a shot at
- 4:39Speaker 1: getting healed. And so he said they took out along
- 4:42Speaker 1: the way and they walked and they walked and they
- 4:44Speaker 1: walked for hours. And then when they got there, the
- 4:49Speaker 1: house was completely filled with people. That was absolutely it
- 4:54Speaker 1: was packed wall to wall. That was absolutely no way
- 4:57Speaker 1: for the men to get him on that stretch it
- 5:00Speaker 1: in to see Jesus. This is a story that Joel
- 5:05Speaker 1: Osteen said is in the Bible, and he was telling
- 5:07Speaker 1: it now. I'm just repeating the parts of it. I
- 5:10Speaker 1: got gathered and so he said. They were sat there
- 5:14Speaker 1: and they went, wow, man, we walked all this way
- 5:16Speaker 1: and it's four and and and and and and and
- 5:20Speaker 1: we can't get there, he said. And then the guy
- 5:24Speaker 1: with the affliction told the four men, if you get
- 5:29Speaker 1: up on the roof and cut a hole in it
- 5:33Speaker 1: and lower me down, I bet I could see men,
- 5:37Speaker 1: and I better to be all right now. He then said,
- 5:42Speaker 1: you must imagine how these four men must have felt
- 5:46Speaker 1: when you carry somebody for hours on on on on
- 5:50Speaker 1: on on the way. They had to carry some cloth
- 5:53Speaker 1: connected by a couple of sticks, said the men. Shoulders
- 5:56Speaker 1: had to be bruised, had to have deep gouges in them,
- 6:00Speaker 1: not cuts, but just indentations where they had carried the
- 6:04Speaker 1: weight of this grown man for so many hours, and
- 6:06Speaker 1: they looked at him in disbelief, like, man, what are
- 6:09Speaker 1: you talking about. We didn't walked all this far. He said, yeah,
- 6:12Speaker 1: but if you get up on that roof and you
- 6:14Speaker 1: cut a hole in it and lower me down, I
- 6:18Speaker 1: can see him and when he see me, it'll be
- 6:21Speaker 1: all right. After sitting there and imploring the men, they
- 6:26Speaker 1: went up and did just that, and then and then
- 6:30Speaker 1: the story that Joel Osteen said, the man was healed.
- 6:34Speaker 1: But the point he was making was he was saying
- 6:38Speaker 1: that the closer you get to what it is you
- 6:41Speaker 1: really want, the more difficult it's going to become. But
- 6:45Speaker 1: you've got to push through. See, if you don't push through,
- 6:48Speaker 1: you never know, so you can't get right to the answer.
- 6:52Speaker 1: And because it gets really difficult, started creating those little
- 6:55Speaker 1: saying is that we got his people. Well, I guess
- 6:59Speaker 1: it wasn't mean to be. I guess it wasn't the
- 7:03Speaker 1: Lord's will. Now, man, I guess you should not give
- 7:06Speaker 1: up right now. I guess you should keep pressing. I
- 7:10Speaker 1: guess you should do more, because see, in all of us,
- 7:13Speaker 1: in all of us, when you've had enough, I want
- 7:16Speaker 1: you to know something you do have a little bit
- 7:18Speaker 1: more in all of us. You can do one more
- 7:23Speaker 1: you know. That's one of my favorite things that I heard.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Joel Oldstein said. It kind of made me feel good.
- 7:28Speaker 1: He said, I always feel like I can do one
- 7:32Speaker 1: more anything, and I tell my friends all the time,
- 7:36Speaker 1: I can do one more man, I could do one
- 7:38Speaker 1: more day. I can do one more anything. Now Here
- 7:44Speaker 1: was the jewel that I never really knew that Joel
- 7:49Speaker 1: Oldstein and God sent to me I needed to hear.
- 7:54Speaker 1: He said that no matter what you're going through, no
- 7:58Speaker 1: matter how long that challenges you've been facing, God has
- 8:03Speaker 1: an end date for it all. Did you hear me?
- 8:07Speaker 1: No matter what you're going through, no matter what challenge
- 8:10Speaker 1: you're facing, no matter what situation you've gotten yourself into,
- 8:14Speaker 1: God has an ending date. All you got to do
- 8:19Speaker 1: is keep pressing forward. All you got to do is
- 8:22Speaker 1: hanging now. All you got to do is don't give up.
- 8:26Speaker 1: All you have to do is don't turn back. That
- 8:30Speaker 1: is an end date for all of it, even when
- 8:34Speaker 1: you think you've had enough. And boy, have I had
- 8:39Speaker 1: this conversation with God on several things that I've been
- 8:44Speaker 1: going through, and I'm going I've even told him, Look,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I got it, man, He said, just keep hanging on.
- 8:52Speaker 1: There is an end date to whatever it is you're
- 8:55Speaker 1: going through. There's an end date to your illness, your sickness,
- 9:00Speaker 1: you're tired of being tired. There's an end date to
- 9:04Speaker 1: this relationship that you can't seem to get through. Beyond
- 9:12Speaker 1: over that's that's like a cancer to you. There's an
- 9:16Speaker 1: end date. But you've got to hang in there. You've
- 9:21Speaker 1: got to keep pushing forward. You cannot turn around. You
- 9:25Speaker 1: must not go back, because when God gets you through
- 9:29Speaker 1: this and you break through to the other side, the
- 9:33Speaker 1: reward and the benefit is far greater than the struggle.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I oftentimes look at some of the things that God
- 9:43Speaker 1: has brought me through in my worst times, and when
- 9:47Speaker 1: He brought me through, I went wild. Man. Now that
- 9:50Speaker 1: I understand that, now that I'm on the other side
- 9:53Speaker 1: and I have the benefit of the reward for it,
- 9:56Speaker 1: would you do it all again to get there? Yes,
- 9:58Speaker 1: I would. You're Steve Show, Ladies and gentlemen, Let's get

- 14:09Speaker 1: All right, here we go. This one. Steve is from
- 14:11Speaker 1: Sandy in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She says, I'm a single mother.
- 14:15Speaker 1: My son just turned two. My son's father was engaged
- 14:19Speaker 1: when we met, so we kept it purely sexual. We
- 14:22Speaker 1: got careless, and I got pregnant. He totally cut me
- 14:26Speaker 1: off and I have not heard from him since. Then.
- 14:29Speaker 1: He got married and I found his wife on Facebook.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I look at her page from time to time, and
- 14:35Speaker 1: the other day I saw that she's pregnant, and her
- 14:37Speaker 1: caption said, I'm so happy to give my husband his
- 14:41Speaker 1: first son. I want to let her know that I
- 14:44Speaker 1: gave her husband his first son. Should I send her
- 14:48Speaker 1: a Facebook message or surprise them with child support papers?
- 14:52Speaker 1: What's you think? Well? Either one of them gonna be
- 14:54Speaker 1: pretty funky. Yes, how you see what? See? See what
- 15:00Speaker 1: you already decided that you're going to do one or
- 15:04Speaker 1: the other. Facebook message, surprised with support papers? Now, see
- 15:11Speaker 1: this is what happens though. See you was messing with
- 15:15Speaker 1: her fiance, and then you was just it was just sexual.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Then y'all got careless, and now you got a baby.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Now now you don't want to be just just sexual
- 15:26Speaker 1: no more. Now you want a family. He cut you
- 15:28Speaker 1: off because he didn't want it to interfere with his
- 15:30Speaker 1: life that he really didn't want to give up nowhere,
- 15:33Speaker 1: So now now he got to pay for that too,
- 15:35Speaker 1: and you got to pay too. So now everybody got
- 15:38Speaker 1: to come to the dam. So which one you're gonna do.
- 15:40Speaker 1: You're gonna send the Facebook. You're gonna surprise him with
- 15:43Speaker 1: court papers. See either way. Look, here's what you're gonna do.
- 15:49Speaker 1: You're probably gonna end up doing both because you don't
- 15:51Speaker 1: sound like you even let this go, because you gonna
- 15:55Speaker 1: you gonna get child support. And I'm pretty sure you're
- 15:57Speaker 1: gonna do that, so your I mean ladies, Yeah, child support.
- 16:06Speaker 1: So see so ain't no, ain't know. It was an accident,
- 16:09Speaker 1: one night stand. We did it. You got it. Here's
- 16:14Speaker 1: the papers signed here, here and here. See. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:20Speaker 1: it's a mess. You're right. It's a message either way
- 16:23Speaker 1: you look at it. Yeah, I see, it's to get
- 16:26Speaker 1: it over now, pay me now later one of the Yeah,
- 16:29Speaker 1: but you're gonna make sure what happened because you're mad now, Yeah,
- 16:32Speaker 1: you on the Facebook page and stuff getting mad and
- 16:35Speaker 1: there is no about involved. I don't know about her
- 16:38Speaker 1: following the wife and all that. Yeah, something would she trolling? Yeah,
- 16:47Speaker 1: but after she got pregnant and he didn't want to
- 16:49Speaker 1: have to do nothing to do with her that's what
- 16:51Speaker 1: pissed off. Yeah, yeah, all right, all right to you man,
- 16:58Speaker 1: get your child support in. See people alone. Go to
- 17:01Speaker 1: Walgreens next day. Yeah, leave him alone there? All right?
- 17:07Speaker 1: Here we go skipe Jerome and Orlando says, I'm dating
- 17:11Speaker 1: the love of my life and I'll do anything to
- 17:14Speaker 1: make her happy. But she's been giving me the blues.
- 17:17Speaker 1: We participated in one peaceful protest and we donated money
- 17:21Speaker 1: to Black Lives Matter to the movement. She watches the
- 17:24Speaker 1: news all day and she thinks we should get back
- 17:27Speaker 1: out there and protest again. We're both sixty three years old,
- 17:33Speaker 1: so I told her we should find another way to
- 17:36Speaker 1: show support. She told me that I'm a sorry excuse
- 17:39Speaker 1: for a black man if I just sit back and
- 17:41Speaker 1: accept what's going on in the world. I'm black and
- 17:44Speaker 1: I'm proud, but I'm not going back out there. Could
- 17:48Speaker 1: there be some truth to how she feels? Well, that's
- 17:52Speaker 1: really crazy, dog, because I'm sixty three two. I can't
- 17:55Speaker 1: go back out there. You know, I said the other
- 17:57Speaker 1: day protesting is a young person sport because the way
- 18:01Speaker 1: they're doing And now, man, with this tear gas and
- 18:03Speaker 1: it's throwing your floor, you got to be able to run,
- 18:05Speaker 1: change direct shoes, fall, get up, jump over cars and stuff,
- 18:10Speaker 1: have behind bushes, run up steps, pick up tear gas,
- 18:14Speaker 1: throw it back. Hey dogs, sixty three man, you ain't
- 18:19Speaker 1: there no more. It's a lot of ways to protest.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Because you're knocked out there on the front line. Don't
- 18:25Speaker 1: mean that you don't care. And at sixty three year
- 18:28Speaker 1: old and a black dude, boy, I don't know how
- 18:30Speaker 1: many of these wars. She don't know you've been in.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Some people are late bloomers. You know this is the
- 18:35Speaker 1: first time wanting to get acting. But I'm exactly sixty three.
- 18:39Speaker 1: If you're my age, sir, you've been at this for
- 18:42Speaker 1: a long time. This is nothing new. I support the
- 18:46Speaker 1: protesters out there, I really do. I don't condone the looting,
- 18:50Speaker 1: under burning, but I do understand it, though I don't
- 18:54Speaker 1: want you to do it, but Lord have mercy, I
- 18:57Speaker 1: do understand it. I'm not like the people in the media.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I don't understand. You burn up your own neighborhood. Them
- 19:03Speaker 1: ain't your neighborhoods. That's for starters. And then I understand,
- 19:08Speaker 1: But then our antagonists planted in there too and wants
- 19:11Speaker 1: to brick start throwing is easy to throw after that.
- 19:14Speaker 1: So I understand the whole game. But don't get mad
- 19:16Speaker 1: at this man because he not going back out there
- 19:18Speaker 1: at a protest. That's not That doesn't make him sorry.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Yeah right, because see a lot of people that inflicted
- 19:27Speaker 1: curfews and stuff like that, and now they're making that
- 19:30Speaker 1: a law. And once you break the law, then that
- 19:34Speaker 1: enables them to enact the law. Then you have a problem. Yeah,
- 19:37Speaker 1: and he said they were finding other ways to support
- 19:40Speaker 1: the movement. Yeah he ain't. No, sorry, dude, because he
- 19:42Speaker 1: ain't gone all right, Kanty and Gary says, I'm a
- 19:44Speaker 1: fifty three year old Avorts female and I'm a magnet
- 19:47Speaker 1: for married men. I started back dating two years ago
- 19:51Speaker 1: and I have gone on two first Now I've gone
- 19:55Speaker 1: on first dates with three different men that ended up
- 19:57Speaker 1: being married. The men I met online lie on the
- 20:00Speaker 1: profiles say they're single. Even the married men at church
- 20:03Speaker 1: flirt with me since they know I'm divorced. I didn't
- 20:05Speaker 1: think dating would be this hard. I don't have time
- 20:08Speaker 1: for games. Or is there any way for me to
- 20:10Speaker 1: tell if a man is married when I meet him?
- 20:13Speaker 1: Can you give me some clues? Yeah? If when he
- 20:16Speaker 1: pull up he has a winning bagel with a swing
- 20:19Speaker 1: set on top. That's a good one. If he pull
- 20:26Speaker 1: up and uh it's car seats in the back. If
- 20:31Speaker 1: he pull up and you find bubbolicious rappers in the car.
- 20:39Speaker 1: If he pull up and it's some little baby shoes
- 20:42Speaker 1: hanging on the rear view mil Yeah, that's a good one.
- 20:48Speaker 1: All right, thank you, cello. Chief Love Officer Steve Harvey
- 20:52Speaker 1: as always coming up next. It is Monday, so that
- 20:54Speaker 1: means the pastors will be in the building right after this.
- 20:58Speaker 1: You're listening Morning show coming up at the top of
- 21:03Speaker 1: the hour. Today's National News. Miss Anna's going to tell
- 21:06Speaker 1: us about another chokehold arrest yesterday in New York City
- 21:10Speaker 1: at Rockaway Beach. As New York Police officers were attempting
- 21:14Speaker 1: to arrest a black man, they used a chokehold. This
- 21:18Speaker 1: is just one week after the city has banned the
- 21:22Speaker 1: use of chokeholes. Sitting there training. Yeah, he's sitting a
- 21:28Speaker 1: training Okay, yeah, training, DNA, all of it. Yes. In
- 21:37Speaker 1: Entertainment News, our good friend, your good friend, Steve D. L.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Hugley revealed that he has tested positive for coronavirus after
- 21:44Speaker 1: collapsing on stage in Nashville and Jamie Fox is going
- 21:48Speaker 1: to play Mike Tyson. We'll talk about all of this. Wow,
- 21:51Speaker 1: that's a good fit right there. We'll talk about all
- 21:53Speaker 1: these stories at the top of the hour. But first
- 21:55Speaker 1: it is Monday. Time to lighten things up a bit
- 21:58Speaker 1: and smile with Reverend motel on a deacon death jam
- 22:01Speaker 1: They are here with church complaints. Oh oh, oh, gracious

- 22:33Speaker 1: oppodition you apriculture, our perdition. What what what? That's a
- 22:42Speaker 1: world lead in general. We are time now in the
- 22:46Speaker 1: middle of COVID to deal with a church that ain't
- 22:50Speaker 1: managed yet to be grateful about a damn thing. Right,
- 22:56Speaker 1: go ahead, deacon, all right, let's here pass it. We gotta.
- 23:01Speaker 1: We need to approve of the sisters who haven't been able.
- 23:05Speaker 1: They get their hair and they have done. We would
- 23:07Speaker 1: like to see them. We wouldn't like to not see
- 23:10Speaker 1: them on the zoom service. It would you mind letting
- 23:13Speaker 1: them know. It's all right to tune in, but we
- 23:15Speaker 1: don't want to say they have not done. They agreed
- 23:21Speaker 1: than so many zooms is too close, sister for a needle.
- 23:30Speaker 1: You would please back up from the zoom, shouldn't you
- 23:35Speaker 1: mind us? Riverd know it? You just you just too
- 23:40Speaker 1: damn close, way too If if I have your approval,

- 23:50Speaker 1: all I want to have all I'm controlling who's in
- 23:54Speaker 1: the zoom and who's out. Thank you so much, pass,
- 23:58Speaker 1: thank you so much. All right, we got an issue yesterday.
- 24:01Speaker 1: You know, it was a father's day. Little tenure old
- 24:04Speaker 1: Marcus Bailey found out that William Bailey is not his daddy.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Brother Jason Reynolds is actually the daddy. Now now, now,
- 24:15Speaker 1: brother William h is demanding ten years of money that
- 24:18Speaker 1: he didn't put into the boar. They want you to
- 24:20Speaker 1: handle this situation, or brother Williams, you don't get money
- 24:25Speaker 1: back off the boy, or it doesn't work that way.
- 24:31Speaker 1: You've supported him in little league, half football and the
- 24:38Speaker 1: junior soccer league. That's right, and and and and and
- 24:44Speaker 1: he can't wear none of them shoes anymore. But this
- 24:47Speaker 1: ain't his boy down, That's that's what well you You
- 24:51Speaker 1: was acting like he was your boy. So you can
- 24:54Speaker 1: continue to talk to the mama some trick to out.
- 25:00Speaker 1: I think I said, hello, come on now, read all right,
- 25:13Speaker 1: and we got an issue due to COVID nineteen. Listen,
- 25:16Speaker 1: you're gonna have to talk to brother maur Reese. Now.
- 25:19Speaker 1: He delivers the meal's own wheels until the less fortunate
- 25:22Speaker 1: than the this age. Now people are saying that he's
- 25:25Speaker 1: not even bringing the food up to the dog. He
- 25:27Speaker 1: threw on a rock, hitting the dog and leaving the
- 25:30Speaker 1: food on the curve and pointing out I had told
- 25:34Speaker 1: brother Malice to do that. Oh, because social We can't
- 25:40Speaker 1: get next to these old people now, because all of
- 25:43Speaker 1: them have pre existing conditions, and you know, Mourice has
- 25:47Speaker 1: pro reese preconditioned existion to alcohol. He's a crackhead. He
- 25:53Speaker 1: formed a thief. He's a solid battery. He's on. Why
- 26:01Speaker 1: do we have him dropping food out on the older
- 26:04Speaker 1: job He could get once he got out, or deacon
- 26:09Speaker 1: your mules or will right, But you can't people. People
- 26:15Speaker 1: are getting ants and bugs and their food by the
- 26:17Speaker 1: time they get out to the carib banging back. You
- 26:21Speaker 1: got to get out quicker now, I guess once the
- 26:26Speaker 1: rock hit the dough, you need to come on out.
- 26:28Speaker 1: I have your walker after do be ready and when
- 26:33Speaker 1: you hear that rock hit that screen, start slide read
- 26:40Speaker 1: all right. Past the Sister Sentimon. Sister Sentimon, who was
- 26:44Speaker 1: a former stripper, has been raising money to help the
- 26:47Speaker 1: churn as we try to help those in the community.
- 26:50Speaker 1: The problem, Pastor is she's selling t shirts that saved
- 26:55Speaker 1: Big Boots Matter. Uh he a soul over housing Big
- 27:00Speaker 1: Booty Matter shirts, and now she's saying she wants to
- 27:03Speaker 1: have a big Booty March. This is Yo Kyle passing.
- 27:06Speaker 1: He is making money, but I don't know about big
- 27:09Speaker 1: bootist matter. Well, they do matter all we they will
- 27:18Speaker 1: continue to matter and do nothing else matter. Ah was
- 27:28Speaker 1: the once dating a woman who had or small booty.
- 27:35Speaker 1: I did not know at first, but the third day, yeah,
- 27:45Speaker 1: I kind of like remind me the story of when
- 27:48Speaker 1: the stone rolled away. On the third day we got
- 27:56Speaker 1: the peeling back the layers. Yeah, and I found out
- 28:02Speaker 1: she had bought a booty. Yeah. Dan's panics that they
- 28:07Speaker 1: make at Frederick's of Hollywood that you can buy and
- 28:12Speaker 1: will make your bootege look more volucious than it really is.
- 28:20Speaker 1: My sitting make it look more voluscious than it really
- 28:26Speaker 1: About that third night we was the gavel and she
- 28:30Speaker 1: got the taking things off, and she pulled off under
- 28:37Speaker 1: had set him on the top of the dressing on
- 28:40Speaker 1: top of the dresser inside the under where I was
- 28:43Speaker 1: the rest of her hands. I was sitting over there,
- 28:47Speaker 1: most disappointed, and you could ever want to see. She
- 28:50Speaker 1: started walking draws me. I said, I didn't mefting round
- 28:56Speaker 1: start dating the white girl. She was a black girl
- 29:01Speaker 1: with a white girl. Bought it something. I said, lo
- 29:05Speaker 1: Lor big booties at the top of the hour entertainment
- 29:16Speaker 1: and national news right after this. You're listening, all right,
- 29:24Speaker 1: So Steve, one of the kings of comedy and your
- 29:26Speaker 1: good friend Delle hugely collapsed on stage while he was
- 29:30Speaker 1: performing at Zany's Comedy Club in Nashville. Delle was suffering
- 29:35Speaker 1: from dehydration and exhaustion after working and traveling and take
- 29:41Speaker 1: a listen as Delle explained to his fans about his
- 29:44Speaker 1: diagnosis of COVID nineteen. When I came, I was being
- 29:48Speaker 1: treated for extreme exhaustion and dehydration, which I was very dehydrated.
- 29:55Speaker 1: But it turns out there ran a battery of tests
- 29:58Speaker 1: and I also tested positive that for COVID nineteen, which
- 30:01Speaker 1: blew me away. Prayers of healing are going out to Dale.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Of course, we love him and were surprised. My son
- 30:10Speaker 1: told me about him, and my heart dropped a little bit,
- 30:13Speaker 1: you know, because he said, Dad, did you hear dal
- 30:16Speaker 1: fell out on stage? And so I know right away
- 30:20Speaker 1: to call, said, called, said and Deal extremely close and
- 30:24Speaker 1: so said said he had just talked with him at
- 30:29Speaker 1: the hospital because when he heard about it, and I
- 30:32Speaker 1: didn't hear about it until the next morning. So I
- 30:35Speaker 1: text Deal. I said, Hey, man, I want to disturb you, bro,
- 30:37Speaker 1: but because I know you might be rested, I don't
- 30:40Speaker 1: know where you at, but just text me back and
- 30:41Speaker 1: let me know you're okay. And then we had a
- 30:43Speaker 1: text exchange. He was fine. He told me what happened,
- 30:48Speaker 1: and told him I loved him. I was praying for him.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I said to stay strong, you know, because you know,
- 30:54Speaker 1: it really made my heart sink a little bit, man,
- 30:57Speaker 1: because yeah, you know, you know, you know we lost Bernie. Man.
- 31:02Speaker 1: You know, it just makes you you know how you
- 31:06Speaker 1: get that phone call and you and all you get
- 31:09Speaker 1: with Dad, did you hear Dial passed out on stage? What?
- 31:13Speaker 1: And then you do but then you know, you try
- 31:15Speaker 1: to pull yourself together. You know, so you can call
- 31:18Speaker 1: him and sound you know, strong or something, you know,
- 31:21Speaker 1: but uplifting. Yeah, it was, but it was good man,
- 31:24Speaker 1: And you're a good dude. Man, You're a real good dude.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Oh Man, solid all the way through. I mean, I
- 31:32Speaker 1: mean when you talk about educated himself, this dude right here,
- 31:38Speaker 1: he's so smart, very smart. Um. He was just not
- 31:42Speaker 1: too long ago, he was on Um Cuomo on Chris
- 31:45Speaker 1: Cuomo Show, and he was um telling Chris Cuomo, you know,
- 31:49Speaker 1: saying that he was so happy that he got over
- 31:51Speaker 1: COVID nineteen and everything, not knowing that he had it
- 31:55Speaker 1: at that time himself. But he was just asymptomatic, which
- 31:59Speaker 1: is really crazy. I'm glad he got checked out, you know.
- 32:02Speaker 1: And he said he was going to quarantine himself for
- 32:05Speaker 1: fourteen days again. Prayers, I mean, I mean, he's gonna
- 32:09Speaker 1: stay in the hotel he was in. Oh he's not
- 32:12Speaker 1: even Nashville. Oh he's just gonna stay Okay, Prayers of healing,
- 32:17Speaker 1: going out to d L Yeah all right. So an
- 32:20Speaker 1: other trending entertainment new Steve as we switch gears here.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Jamie Fox has been signed to play Mike Tyson in
- 32:29Speaker 1: an upcoming biopic Okay, huh yeah, another one right. He's
- 32:35Speaker 1: said to play Tyson as both a young and an
- 32:39Speaker 1: older man. Apparently he's been working out working on this
- 32:43Speaker 1: for years. Yeah, Jamie's got the voice down, you know,
- 32:48Speaker 1: he can do that. Um. And now he's working on
- 32:52Speaker 1: his body. He says he's been doing a daily regiment
- 32:54Speaker 1: of sixty pull ups, sixty dips, and a hundred pushups
- 32:58Speaker 1: to get his upper body in shape. But Steve, he said,
- 33:01Speaker 1: the lower body of the lost cause he said, I
- 33:04Speaker 1: ain't got no legs, I ain't got no calf muscles.
- 33:07Speaker 1: So we're gonna have to put some prosthetics on because
- 33:13Speaker 1: Mike got calves. Boy. Yeah yeah. But Jamie knnact o man, yeah, yank,
- 33:18Speaker 1: oh yeah yeah, Jamie connacht Man, you go here to
- 33:20Speaker 1: home run. Yeah all right, Steve, time to go to MSAN.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, Miss Anne Trup, thank you very much, guys. Okay.
- 33:29Speaker 1: In Chicago, sad crazy news, police say at least sixty
- 33:33Speaker 1: six h sixty people were shot over the weekend. In Chicago.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Nine people have died, including a three year old sitting
- 33:39Speaker 1: in a car with his father. The father not cooperating
- 33:42Speaker 1: with authorities as a ten thousand dollars reward for information
- 33:45Speaker 1: leading to the shooter. Also killed on the south side
- 33:47Speaker 1: of thirteen year old girl who was watching television at
- 33:50Speaker 1: home and two teenagers sixteen seventeen, just standing on the corner.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Shot for no apparent reason. Windy City officials blamed gangs,
- 33:56Speaker 1: guns and drugs. In Atlanta, funeral arrangements have been anounced
- 34:00Speaker 1: for Rice Sharp Brooks, and the family has invited Mayor
- 34:03Speaker 1: Kesha Lane Bottoms to be there at Ebenezer Baptist Church,
- 34:06Speaker 1: but they have also asked that the Atlanta cops not
- 34:09Speaker 1: be involved with security. Today is a public viewing the
- 34:12Speaker 1: funeralist tomorrow. Meanwhile, the nile fired Atlanta policeman who shot him,
- 34:16Speaker 1: Garrett Rolf, charged with killing Ray Sharp, remaining behind bars
- 34:20Speaker 1: for now, and a Fulton County court garde told him
- 34:22Speaker 1: why virtue of the nature of the charges imrohimited by
- 34:27Speaker 1: law from setting upon him, So again nobel for him.
- 34:30Speaker 1: He's in jail. Rolf faces eleven counts, including felony murder
- 34:33Speaker 1: for fatally shooting Brooks after trying to arrest him for
- 34:35Speaker 1: merely trying to sleep it off in his car inside
- 34:38Speaker 1: of a Wendy's parking lot a week back. Many of
- 34:40Speaker 1: the law enforcement and political leaders who viewed the bodycamp
- 34:43Speaker 1: video of the incident say Rolf didn't have to resort
- 34:46Speaker 1: to deadly force. Nevertheless, hundreds of thousands of dollars listen
- 34:49Speaker 1: to this has been raised for his Rolf's legal defense.
- 34:53Speaker 1: President Trump but held his first campaign rally since March
- 34:56Speaker 1: second on Saturday. His themes were pretty much unchanged since
- 34:59Speaker 1: twenty SI team. He said that if a Democrat Joe
- 35:02Speaker 1: Biden was elected, that rioters would take over the country.
- 35:06Speaker 1: There was nothing about unfitted racism in it, northing that.
- 35:09Speaker 1: He didn't talk about police reform. He told his supporters
- 35:12Speaker 1: that the Confederate symbols will quote our heritage. He even
- 35:15Speaker 1: called the coronavirus the kung flu. I've been watching the
- 35:18Speaker 1: fake news for weeks now and everything is negative. Don't go,
- 35:23Speaker 1: don't come, don't do anything. Today it was like, I've
- 35:27Speaker 1: never seen anything like it. I've never seen anything like it.
- 35:30Speaker 1: You are warriors, Thank you. Yeah. I. Meanwhile, six of
- 35:34Speaker 1: the President's campaign staffers working on the weekend rally tested
- 35:38Speaker 1: positive for coronavirus. On top of that, Trump spoke to
- 35:41Speaker 1: a far smaller crowd than he anticipated. Reports are the
- 35:44Speaker 1: teenagers using TikTok brought hundreds of tickets they had no
- 35:47Speaker 1: intention of using, like they punked the whole event. Congressional
- 35:51Speaker 1: Democrats are scheduled to open an investigation this week into
- 35:53Speaker 1: the Trump administration's firing of the US Attorney for the
- 35:56Speaker 1: Southern District, Jeffrey Burman, whose office had been investing had
- 35:59Speaker 1: been investigating rather Trump's associates, including Rudy Giuliani. And while
- 36:03Speaker 1: spring training gets underway this week, not a Florida or
- 36:06Speaker 1: Arizona because of COVID. It's really the first full week out. Yes,
- 36:11Speaker 1: Now back to Steve Harvey Morning Show. So you're listening
- 36:14Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Time now for our
- 36:18Speaker 1: tell me something Good segment. Here's sometimes something good and Steve,
- 36:27Speaker 1: this is about you. You mentioned it earlier in the show.
- 36:30Speaker 1: But this past weekend was your Steve Harvey Foundation Mentoring Camp. However,
- 36:34Speaker 1: due to COVID nineteen, this year's camp was virtual. You
- 36:37Speaker 1: talked about that you've made a permission to every year
- 36:41Speaker 1: mentor young boys from fatherless homes and this year was
- 36:43Speaker 1: no different. You and your special guests talked to the
- 36:46Speaker 1: boys virtually about racism, education, careers in the STEM field,
- 36:51Speaker 1: financial planning and real talk about young kings and more.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Enlighten us please. I mean it was just outstanding, man.
- 36:58Speaker 1: We were able to reach a lot more boys. Every
- 37:02Speaker 1: day we had six hundred boys joined in and over
- 37:07Speaker 1: the course it turned out to be tens of thousands.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Facebook just send us a notice thinking us because we
- 37:14Speaker 1: were the number one trending Facebook item online this weekend.
- 37:20Speaker 1: And it's all about mentoring these young men. I want
- 37:22Speaker 1: to thank Anthony Hamilton man, because Anthony Hamilton has an
- 37:26Speaker 1: interesting story because he grew up without his father and
- 37:30Speaker 1: he had six sons, and so a lot of the
- 37:34Speaker 1: boys questions. Anthony Hamilton was there to help out because
- 37:38Speaker 1: they want to know how do you deal with not
- 37:40Speaker 1: having your father role? How do you fight the feelings
- 37:43Speaker 1: of resentment? I mean, these young guys were saying stuff like,
- 37:46Speaker 1: how do you not hate your father? He don't come
- 37:48Speaker 1: to your games, he won't come to your birthday party,
- 37:51Speaker 1: he don't send you nothing for Christmas. One little boy
- 37:54Speaker 1: even said, I was out on the street corner doing
- 37:57Speaker 1: my thing. You know, I slay dope, mister Hall. My
- 38:01Speaker 1: father came up to me, saw me slinging on the
- 38:04Speaker 1: corner and tried to walk by him, and I said, hey, man,
- 38:06Speaker 1: then I a dapped him up. He dapped me up
- 38:08Speaker 1: and walked on. He said, he said he's a mentor, Harvey.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Why ain't he try to stop me? He said, I
- 38:14Speaker 1: just wanted him turn around and say something to me,
- 38:17Speaker 1: you know. I mean, there's some cold stories, man. One
- 38:20Speaker 1: dude's father hit him up on Instagram to get turned
- 38:23Speaker 1: him on to drugs and hope that he would say
- 38:26Speaker 1: he had the money so he could buy the money
- 38:28Speaker 1: from him so he could buy a lick. You know, man,
- 38:31Speaker 1: It's it's it's it's some hard breaking stories out there. Yeah,
- 38:34Speaker 1: man hit his son up on Instagram to say he
- 38:37Speaker 1: was going to turn his own son to some drugs
- 38:39Speaker 1: and see if he had money, and then he's gonna
- 38:41Speaker 1: hit him up for the money. I mean, man, it's
- 38:44Speaker 1: it's it's some stuck now. You gotta understand, man, what
- 38:48Speaker 1: we're dealing with at these camps and how these boys
- 38:50Speaker 1: is hurting. That's just a small example. And then it's
- 38:53Speaker 1: just boys want to know. Man. When I talked to
- 38:55Speaker 1: my father, mister Harvey's okay, if I ask him why
- 38:58Speaker 1: he don't want to be my daddie. I mean, man,
- 39:01Speaker 1: you'd be sitting there listening to him, and you know
- 39:02Speaker 1: you gotta help him. You gotta talk him through that.
- 39:04Speaker 1: So it's impactful. That's just a small part of it,
- 39:07Speaker 1: didn't You know, cats and want to know how to
- 39:09Speaker 1: get into business, how to stay out of trouble, how
- 39:11Speaker 1: to make better decisions. These young boys need that mindset
- 39:17Speaker 1: from a man to tell him some basic stuff because
- 39:19Speaker 1: if they don't get it, man, the temptation to go
- 39:22Speaker 1: to wrong way is too great. That's right, Well, thank
- 39:24Speaker 1: you for all you do. Steve As coming up at
- 39:27Speaker 1: thirty four minutes after the hour TikTok teams, Frank the presidents.
- 39:32Speaker 1: We'll talk about it right after this. You're listening to
- 39:35Speaker 1: show well. On Saturday, during his campaign rally and Tulsa, Oklahoma,
- 39:43Speaker 1: there was a low turnout of only six thousand, two
- 39:46Speaker 1: hundred people in a venue with a seating capacity of
- 39:49Speaker 1: twenty thousand people. Okay, oh yeah, Well, another reason for
- 39:59Speaker 1: the low turnout sides the fear of coronavirus. Experts are
- 40:02Speaker 1: saying that the president was trolled and pranked by young
- 40:04Speaker 1: TikTok users who registered for free tickets without any intentions
- 40:09Speaker 1: of showing up. Now, that's how you prana from. That's
- 40:16Speaker 1: how you pray from the King of pranks. Yeah. Also
- 40:21Speaker 1: during his speech, the President referred to COVID nineteen as
- 40:24Speaker 1: Kung Flu. Take a listen, Oh boy, I can name
- 40:29Speaker 1: come Flu. I can name nineteen different versions of them.
- 40:38Speaker 1: He's just playing to his base, and that's what they
- 40:40Speaker 1: want to hear. Oh ye, two, did I see two
- 40:46Speaker 1: rolls of black people at this Diamond and Silk with
- 40:53Speaker 1: their diamond and schilk were there? Yeah? Diamond and silk,
- 40:56Speaker 1: diamond schilk. Are these two black ladies that these have
- 40:59Speaker 1: an internet? Yeah? They went on stage, and I mean,
- 41:05Speaker 1: I do not get negroes for Trump. I don't get it.
- 41:08Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, once you black for Trump, you get demoted.
- 41:20Speaker 1: We demote you from black to nego. I meant what
- 41:25Speaker 1: I want to say, layer back behind that man, you
- 41:33Speaker 1: want to keep it on. I'm trying to think, what
- 41:36Speaker 1: is it they here that we hear that they go one?
- 41:40Speaker 1: He is right? Where were they here? They're Republicans? Jay,
- 41:44Speaker 1: So they're still talking about this flag? Yeah at NFL games.
- 41:50Speaker 1: You know, we will stand for a flag and we
- 41:53Speaker 1: will stand talking that's not what it's for, man. And
- 41:56Speaker 1: I'm telling you, man, you're gonna get this show down.
- 41:58Speaker 1: You're behind this year. He gonna he gonna be disappointed
- 42:02Speaker 1: this year because see, they're not gonna let him change it.
- 42:06Speaker 1: No no, oh oh yeah, no, man's now. No, they
- 42:10Speaker 1: are not going to let you turn this into Oh no,
- 42:15Speaker 1: you're not too oh. He wants them if people burn
- 42:23Speaker 1: the flag or something like that, he wants them to
- 42:24Speaker 1: serve jail time. He said that a year in jail. Yeah,
- 42:27Speaker 1: a year in jail. Let's see. Well, I as he
- 42:31Speaker 1: don't go to the church because the pastor never goes
- 42:34Speaker 1: to the spillover room. You get that big screen and
- 42:37Speaker 1: the nest. He don't go over that. The overflow yeah,
- 42:40Speaker 1: the oo go over there. He never goes over there.
- 42:44Speaker 1: You get that late you sit in the overflow room.
- 42:46Speaker 1: And he built a big ass stage and it was
- 42:48Speaker 1: seven people over It was so funny. Well, he's disputing Jay,
- 42:54Speaker 1: he's disputing also Fire Marshal the same. The count of
- 42:58Speaker 1: people that was there. He's saying more. I mean, haven't
- 43:02Speaker 1: we had a problem with Donald Trump for since since

- 55:18Speaker 1: just like that. Ah, it is Strawberry Letter. Let's go
- 55:24Speaker 1: all right, Thank you nephew. Subject how Daddy got his
- 55:28Speaker 1: groove back? Okay. Dear Stephen Shirley, I've been married for
- 55:33Speaker 1: twenty five years and last weekend my wife and I
- 55:36Speaker 1: took a road trip to see my wife's dad. My
- 55:39Speaker 1: wife's mom passed away three years ago, so her dad
- 55:42Speaker 1: is still adjusting to being alone. Her dad was so
- 55:45Speaker 1: happy to see us, and he asked my wife to
- 55:48Speaker 1: cook his favorite dinner. So when my wife started cooking,
- 55:51Speaker 1: my father in law slipped outside and was talking to
- 55:54Speaker 1: an older lady that had pulled up. When he came
- 55:57Speaker 1: back inside, he told us that his good friend would
- 55:59Speaker 1: be joining us for dinner. I could tell my wife
- 56:02Speaker 1: was caught off guard, but it turned out to be
- 56:04Speaker 1: an old friend of the family, and my wife grew
- 56:06Speaker 1: up with her children. I assumed it was the same
- 56:09Speaker 1: woman that was sitting in the driveway earlier, and I
- 56:12Speaker 1: was right. You couldn't help but see the chemistry between
- 56:15Speaker 1: the two old people as we ate and talked. Shortly
- 56:18Speaker 1: after dinner, she left and we went to bed. My
- 56:21Speaker 1: father in law's bedroom is on the first floor and
- 56:24Speaker 1: our room was upstairs. Around midnight, we could hear movement downstairs,
- 56:30Speaker 1: so my wife wanted to go check on her dad.
- 56:33Speaker 1: I went to look out the window first, and I
- 56:36Speaker 1: saw the old lady's car out there again, so I
- 56:39Speaker 1: tried to discourage my wife from going downstairs. She went anyway.
- 56:44Speaker 1: When she got back upstairs, she was a nervous wreck
- 56:46Speaker 1: she said she walked in on her dad lying on
- 56:51Speaker 1: top of the old lady and both of them were naked.
- 56:55Speaker 1: The next day, she fussed at her dad like he
- 56:58Speaker 1: was a child, and her dad put us out there
- 57:03Speaker 1: was they are not speaking there. Life is too short
- 57:07Speaker 1: to be mad over something this petty. How can I
- 57:09Speaker 1: get my wife to stop judging her dad and make
- 57:11Speaker 1: peace with him? Well, now, I don't know if you
- 57:16Speaker 1: can right now. I just I don't know if you can,
- 57:19Speaker 1: because your wife probably can't right now. All kinds of
- 57:23Speaker 1: things are going through her head. Was he seeing this woman,
- 57:27Speaker 1: you know, while her mom was alive? All those things,
- 57:30Speaker 1: and your wife is still grieving the loss of her mom.
- 57:33Speaker 1: I mean, you got to remember that it's been three years.
- 57:35Speaker 1: But no matter how long it takes, that is her process,
- 57:38Speaker 1: her grieving process. She did forget one thing and her
- 57:42Speaker 1: grief though, and it's that her father is grown and
- 57:46Speaker 1: he's still alive and he still has needs and that
- 57:49Speaker 1: is okay, And that's perfectly natural because you know, he's
- 57:54Speaker 1: he's a man, and you know, like I said, we're
- 57:56Speaker 1: all human. It doesn't mean that he's over his wife
- 58:00Speaker 1: or anything like that, or he's forgotten about her, or
- 58:04Speaker 1: even that he's cheating on her. I know she's passed away,
- 58:07Speaker 1: but some people even think that even though their loved
- 58:11Speaker 1: ones have passed away. People handle loss differently, they handle
- 58:15Speaker 1: it differently, and maybe that's how your dad is dealing
- 58:18Speaker 1: with his grief and his loss. You know, getting with
- 58:21Speaker 1: someone else, you know, having sex with a friend. All
- 58:25Speaker 1: those things factor into why your wife is acting the
- 58:28Speaker 1: way she is, and why your father in law is
- 58:31Speaker 1: doing what he's doing. And plus is his house and
- 58:35Speaker 1: it's his life, so he didn't like your wife fussing
- 58:38Speaker 1: at him like a child. Your wife is just gonna
- 58:42Speaker 1: have to accept the fact that your father has a
- 58:44Speaker 1: new life. And you know, maybe she'll get by this,
- 58:49Speaker 1: you know through this. Eventually, maybe she will call and
- 58:52Speaker 1: apologize and they can have a decent talk, but that's
- 58:55Speaker 1: gonna take some time. I think she's still, like I
- 58:57Speaker 1: said in the Grief and Process, Steve, what I don't
- 59:04Speaker 1: you know, lady, sir, appreciate you writing a letter that
- 59:11Speaker 1: is the only one wrong in this letter, from top
- 59:14Speaker 1: to bottom is your wife. She did wrong. She wrong.
- 59:20Speaker 1: There's nowhere in this letter she's right. She just wrong.
- 59:24Speaker 1: She's wrong for everything she did in this letter. Now, dog,
- 59:29Speaker 1: First of all, let me take my hat off to
- 59:30Speaker 1: you because you tried to stop this. But let me
- 59:34Speaker 1: tell you something in my letter. Took a roll trip.
- 59:36Speaker 1: See wife's dad. My wife's mom passed three years ago,
- 59:42Speaker 1: so her dad is still adjusting to being alone. Where
- 59:45Speaker 1: he didn't adjust it, Okay, he's still adjusting to being alone.
- 59:53Speaker 1: He done adjusted. He was so happy to see as
- 59:56Speaker 1: he asked your wife to cook his favorite dinner. Your
- 59:59Speaker 1: white started can Your father in law went outside talking
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: to this old lady that had pulled out. He came
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: back inside. He told us that his good friend will
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: be joining us for dinner at his house. I could
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: tell my wife was caught off God, but it turned
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: out to be an old friend of a family, and
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: my wife grew up with her children. You know this
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: lady stay down the street. It's huh that's her name. Yeah.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: I assumed that was the same woman that was sitting
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: in the dryway earlier, and I was right. So I
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: tried to just wait. I left for peace out. But
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: I don't have to because shortly after dinner she left
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: and they went to bed. So they head dinner, went
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: to bed, We come back I'll fix it, all right, Steve.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: We'll have part two of your response coming up at
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: twenty three minutes after the hour. Today's strawberry letter, How
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Daddy Got his groove back is the subject. We'll get
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: back into it right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Morning Show. All right, skip, come on, Let's recap today's
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Strawberry letter, how Daddy Got his groove back? Simple letter, everybody,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: This woman is wrong. Throughout this letter. This man been
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: married to her for twenty five years. Say they went
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: to visit her father, his mother, His wife passed. Her
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: mom passed three years ago, and you know he's been
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: taking time to adjust well. According to this letter, he
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: had suggested, and he was so happy to see him.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: He asked her to make his favorite dinner. She went
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: in there and started cooking. Your father in law slips
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: outside talking to some old lady that had pulled up.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: He came back. He told his daughter and son in
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: law that a friend of his would be joining us
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: for dinner. Kind of threw the wife off a little bit,
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: but you know, you know, it turned out to be
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: an old friend of the family, and my wife grew
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: up with her children, so you're thinking cool, right. I
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: assumed it was the same woman that was sitting in
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: the driveway, and I was right all right till that
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: good time. Couldn't help us see the chemistry between the
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: old people as we ate and talked. Well. Right after dinner,
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: she left and we went to bed. Now the father
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: in law's bed room happen to be downstairs on the
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: first floor. They room upstairs around midnight twelve, y'all know
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: what happened around now twelve midnight, Thank thank thank thank
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: thank thank thank they thank thank thank thanky, thank thank
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: thank thanky thank. You all know the song if he
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: just come about uh after around midnight, we could hear
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: movement downstairs, now your nose and asked wife wanted to
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: go check on her dad. Now, all three years he'd
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: been in that house by himself, you ain't been going
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: downstairs checking on him. She want to go down check
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: on her dad. Now, you being a dude, you went
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: to look out the window first, and you saw the
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: old lady's car was out there again. So now you
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: know the noise, the movement, is she back over there.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: So I tried to discourage my wife from going down,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: saying the baby, baby, don't go down. That man might
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: have some company. That that same car that was in
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: the driveway. She came back, she went anyway. That's just
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: like she went any damn way. When she came back upstairs,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: she was a nervous wreck. She walked in on her
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: dad laying on top of the old lady and both
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: of them was naked. Yes, the next day she gonna
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: fuss at her dad like he was a child, and
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: the dad put him out because you can't cussing the
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: old black dude in his house. You know how that go?
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: And you, my daughter, I'm still your daddy. Get out now.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: They're not speaking right now because your wife is a
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: busy body and knows it is hell. Life too short
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: to be mad over something that's petty. And you're right, bro,
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: it's petty. But let me tell you what happened though.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: How could I get my wife to stop judging her
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: dad and make peace with him? What is she judging
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: him for? What is the judgment about, Shirley said, half
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: daughter is probably still grieving the loss of her mother.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: I can understand that it takes time to get over loss,
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: but it's been three years, and when you're older, since
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: you know it takes time to get over something, and
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: you know you ain't got a whole lot of time
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: to get over nothing. You got to move on with it.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: So now he didn't grieve the loss of his wife.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: It's then happened and the old lady down street that
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: he on top of her. Now, see when I'm grieving.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Sex if I got the flu, six, come on board.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: If I get bad news from my job, six come
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: on bar if I get if I get five six yes,
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: if I get a bad medical report, sex I get
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: in a car accident. Some sex, I got a toothache.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Sex if I don't make the football team, sex get
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: cut from the football team. Sex when I don't hit
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: the lottery, sex if I hit the lottery, plenty six. Okay,
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: all right, See your wife is grieving. He was grieving,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: but see nins over with. When you take vials, you
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: say to death due us part one of them and
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: I'm not trying to sound callous about it. One of
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: them has parted, and it happened three years ago. He's
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: an older gentleman. He over it. But having sex don't
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: mean that you You you don't forgot about your wife,
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: and you're on loving No more, he has sex with
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: another woman. He posted to why is you down there
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: any damn way? Take your ass back up stairs to
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: your room. Why don't you and your husband makes some
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: damn noise? You go, but see you all downstairs in
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: my business. He on top of her naked. You have
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: to take your clothes off. It's too much, can get
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: snagged and cold. This is for safety naked, it's for safety,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: exactly calls, it's for safety purposes. Can't get them caught
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: and all on all these clothes and stuff tanning, snagging,
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: and so we ain't got no money to replace you.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: We we an't well, we don't fixed income. We ain't
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: got no money. Teddy clothes off now let's lay in here,
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: neked all right? Thank you? Steve. Post your comments on
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: today's Strawberry Letter. That's Steve Urvey f M and Instagram
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: and Facebook and coming up at forty six minutes after
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: the hour. Don't forget to listen to The Strawberry Letter
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Podcast two on demand, coming up at forty six minutes
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: after the hour. If you had to choose one sports
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: season to begin with, which would it be junior? We'll
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: talk about that right after this. You're listening to the
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Doctor Anthony Fauci, director of the
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, recently said that
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: it would be very hard to see how the NFL
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: and college football will be played this fall amid the
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: coronavirus pandemic. NFL teams are scheduled to report to training
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: camp next month. The college football season is to start
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: in later. I don't think college football can start because
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: point a prominent school like Clemson has twenty one players
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: test positive for COVID. Nineteen twenty one football players on
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: a high profile school like Clemson, I can't imagine. Okay,
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: so guys, what about this too, Junior NASCAR was made
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: aware that a news was found in the garage stall
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: of the forty three team. Now we all know that
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: the forty three team will I just found this out
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: that that's Bubba Wallace's team, you know who called, of course,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: for the correct Confederate flag to come down. Okay, we're angry,
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: we are outraged that we are. But also yeah, but
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: also NASCAR said the same thing. They're angry, They're outraged
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: and cannot state strongly enough how seriously that they're taking
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: this this heinous act. NASCAR said this also in a
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: statement that we have launched an immediate investigation and we'll
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: do everything we can to identify the person or persons
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: responsible and eliminate them from the sport. Okay, that's great
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: on NASCAR's part. Thank you, thank you for that. Okay, Now,
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: I mean it's I hope they got cameras, I really do. Yeah.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: So so Bubba Wallace had a chance to respond as well,
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Thank god, I mean, he said that the despicable act
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: yesterday of racism and hatred leaves me incredibly saddened and
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: serves as a painful reminder of how much further we
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: have to go as a society and how persistent we
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: must be in the fight against racism. Over the last
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: several weeks, I've been overwhelmed by the support from people
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: across the NASCAR industry, including other drivers and team members
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: in the garage. Together, our sport has made a commitment
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: to driving real change. Together, our sport has made a
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: commitment to driving real change and championing a community that
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: is accepting and welcoming of everyone. Nothing is more important. Yeah,
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: that's it, right, Jay. Nothing. It's not just treat us
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: the same way you treat every Yeah. Yeah, you're still
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: gonna have what you had. We just want what we
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: from you. Yeah, we want we want our forty acres
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: in a mule. Okay, for lack of a better phrase,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: right now, okay, let us have that. You're not getting
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: the flag back. It's not flying at the NASCAR about
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: the flags not coming back. All right, guys, coming up
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: at the top of the hour, we're gonna play a
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: trending viral racism confrontation moment from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Wait
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: till you guys hear this coming up right after this.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: You're listening to the show. In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, there
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: is an all nearly black school. It's named after Confederate
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: General Robert E. Lee. Now, Black leaders in the community
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: wanted to rename the school, and during a school board meeting,
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: Brother Gary D. Chambers called out a school board member
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: for just shopping while he's you know, they're up there
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: pleading their case and everything. She's on the internet sting
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: while citizens were discussing about changing the name of the school.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: Take a listen ahead intended to get up here and
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: talk about how racist Robbert E. Lee was, But I'm
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: gonna talk about you, Connie, sitting over the shopping while
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: we're talking about Robbert E Lee. This is picture you
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: shopping while we're talking about racism and history in this country.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: Only white members of this board got up while we
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: were up here talking too, because you don't give a
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: damn and it's clear. But I'm gonna tell you what
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: the slaves my ancestors said about Robert E. Lee. Since
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: you don't know history, sister, let me tell you that
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: they said when he got the plantation, after he got
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: off the field where twenty seven thousand people died at Gettysburg, Connie,
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: Robert E Lee was a brutal slave master. Not only
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: did when he whooped the slaves, he said, lay it
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: on them hard. After he said lay it on him hard,
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: he said, put brian on him, sort of burn him.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: That's what Robert E Lee did. And you set your
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: arrogant self in here and sit on that shopping while
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: the pain and the hurt of the people of this
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: community is on display because you don't give a damn,
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: and you should resign. You should have resigned two years
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: ago when you choked the white man in his house.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: You should have resigned two weeks ago when you got
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: on TV and say foolishness, and you should walk out
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: of here and resign and never come back because you
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: are the example of racism in this community. You are horrible,
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: not to the rest of the board. You have an
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: obligation to the people in this community, and eighty one
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: percent of them are black. And do you need a
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: clan rally outside, mister golday before you end it, because
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: holding it up means that you put that building in jeopardy.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: You do, sir, because all over the country they burning
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: stuff down, and black folks in this city have still
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: with protesters. I ain't seen you elected officials out there
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: with them making sure that nothing goes south in Baton Rouge.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: It's been folks in this community who give a damn,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: not just when it's comfortable, but every time. And four
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: years ago we came down here, mister Drake, they say
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: you're a good man. Be a good man. Black folks
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: say you're a good man. White folks say you are
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: a good man. Your legacy is attached to tonight, bro
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: your legacy. Now, let me say that the black members
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: of the board, it's the most solidarity, out of seen,
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: out of y'all infail, Let's keep it at let's stand
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: on this moving forward, because we don't need to apologize
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: for Connie Evelyn. She showed you who she was when
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: she was sitting next to you while you were talking shopping.
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: You don't need another example. Now, when do we as
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: bad and rouge stop being in eighteen fifty six. If
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: you want to name the building after somebody, how about
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: PBS pitch Back, the first black governor of the State
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: of Louisiana when he was governor during reconstruction. You want
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: another name, Asta Dunn, who was the lieutenant governor of
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: the State of Louisiana in the eighteen sixties. That gave
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: the right for Darius Landis and Don Collins and Evelyn
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: were Jackson and Tramel hour to give you. You want
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: to name it after somebody from reconstruction, name it after
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: the people who fought for appelation of silly If you
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: want to name it after somebody out of the right people,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: the people who on the right side of history. But
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: it's your ancestor that the school is named after, so
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: you holding on to your heritage. But we built the
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: joint for free, and we've done begging you. Did you
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: watch right? Thank you, sir? All right, talk about his
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: history joint for free. I'm like how he kept calling
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: the councilmember out. Connie Connie shop, Yeah, shopping, Connie. Baton
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: Rouge is fifty six percent black, and people are outraged.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: The people who are outraged in the Baton Rouge community
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: are working hard. They're trying to get miss Connie Bernard fired. Yeah,
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: a meeting to name the school. She's shopping and she's
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: on the Yeah. So you're not even listening to why
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: they want to rename the school. You're broken down, man. Yeah, Yeah,
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: he knew its history, this mad Negro, because that's what
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: he had his backs together. They need to have a
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: different name for school's daughter. Yeah, they better have a
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: different name August. All right, coming up, we'll have more
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: of today's trending stories on the Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: at twenty minutes after the hour. Right after this. You're
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: listening to show. Okay, So the World Health Organization has
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: reported they reported this yesterday that yesterday was the largest
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: single day increase of COVID nineteen infections. All Right, the
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: single day Brazil had the highest Spike with fifty four thousand,
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: seven hundred and seventy one cases, and the US was
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: next with thirty six thousand, six hundred and seventeen cases.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: That's a lot. You want to know where it didn't
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: come to you really really, Yeah, trying to figure this out.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: They sink it was sick people. There was some people
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: that work for him was sick too, yes, oh ye
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: people staff people, Yeah, that were I think part of
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: the advanced team down there in Tulsa. Yeah, set it
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: up and all of that. Yeah, and they came up sick. Yeah.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: There was never a mention of that. That ain't the same. Yeah, yeah, that,
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: I mean, we gotta do better. We we we have
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: to remember. I saw yesterday though. It was hilarious to
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: watch empty stage and nobody was there, and they built it,
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: began stage with Yeah, that was screams outside aside to
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: throw y'all. Yeah, and they never got used no watching
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: the people who set them up, people with the yellow vessel. Yeah,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: you got a good picture, sir. Yeah, all right, we'll
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show and some
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: trending news at thirty three minutes after the hour. Right
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: after this, you're listening to show well. The parents of
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: the boys seen in President Trump's now flagged race's baby
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: tweet are appalled and they're disgusted by the portrayal of
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: their young sons, and they're forcing Twitter and Facebook to
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: remove it. Uh, it's an unedited version of the video
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: that went viral last year. You guys remember this video
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: where a little black boy and a little white boy. Um,
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: they were running towards each other. They hadn't seen each other. Okay,
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: that's the video we're talking right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, So
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: CNN actually used this video on a story about friendship.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: Then on Friday, the President posted his doctor video of
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: the children with the misspelled caption terrified toddler runs from
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: racist baby what he's Yeah, yeah he is. Then he
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: showed the message in the doctor video America is not
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: the problem, fake news is. The White House said the
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: President was attempting to make a satirical point. The parents
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: of both toddlers, meanwhile, are outraged. As it should be
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: a reminder, don't forget we have to vote tomorrow. We're
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: gonna remind you every time we have one of these
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: stories in New York, Virginia and Kentucky. Yeah, I mean
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: that was just so sweet and endearing, those two little boys. Yeah,
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: which shows you that racism is a learned behavior. It's
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: a learned behavior. You know, you don't we're not born racists.

- 1:20:36Speaker 1: I was trying to figure out where was the voting tomorrow.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: Is it against McConnell or McConnell is in November. This
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: is who I'm I'm assuming is getting ready to run

- 1:21:08Speaker 1: Trump gonna be like Trump gonna really being the bunker
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: after that. And I think there's gonna be some issues
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: with polling places like we saw in Georgia. And ready
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: for what Jay Anthony Brown is saying is take your
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: fold away chairs, take your water, and prepared to practice
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: one of your greatest rights as a citizen of this country,
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: and voting changes things. And we've seen it happen before.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: This is a critical year for us. Man. We cannot
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: allow this to happen for four more four more years
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: of this. Yeah yeah, I mean people you know, lost
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: their lives if you know your history, and we talk
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: about a lot for the right to vote, for people
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: to have the right to vote, Honor that and and
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: you know, go do your civic duty. Do we have
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: to do our part? We voting is important. It matters.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: Your vote matters. Yeah, and look at this now, what
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: we're going through in the summer as a rehearsal, because
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: in November that I tell you that we're gon we're
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: going to it with three gallons of water. We're ready
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: to ride it at Yeah. But you know what, man,
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: we're gonna really put a push on our show because
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: me and the crew was talking about it. We're gonna practice,
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: We're gonna do early voting. Yes, we're gonna get registered.
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: We are going to show them that we respect, love, honor,
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: and know the power of our vote, just like everybody
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: else does at election time. Thank you. That's right, that's
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: it all right? Oh yeah, yeah, we gotta do it.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: We have to New York, Virginia and Kentucky. We're counting

- 1:23:25Speaker 1: you some grapes or whatever, and yes, yes, yes, take
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: that out there. Be prepared to be there for a
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: while because they're closing poles where you normally vote. Someplace
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: that had like thirteen and fourteen hundred, they got them
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: down to two hundred. So this set to make you
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: stay a long time thinking you get discouraged. We ain't right.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: That in and of itself should let you know how
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: important your vote is. They're trying hard for you not

- 1:23:53Speaker 1: how important it is. That's it. They go get your
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: loan cord. Bring a flat screen out there so you
