- 0:00Hey folks, welcome to our latest episode of Football
- 0:03is Life. We're back and we've got a cocky gooner
- 0:06on this one. Oh baby. It's getting worse guys,
- 0:10they're getting cockier. They don't over -celebrate
- 0:11though, they're very humble. They're very humble.
- 0:13Look it, I don't give a shit what you said. Like,
- 0:16sorry, we just demonetized ourselves for the
- 0:18no money we get on YouTube 15 seconds in. But
- 0:21look it, it's been 20 years since we've been
- 0:23to a European final and we're back and I don't
- 0:26care. I'm going to celebrate. I think they've
- 0:29got the, I think they, did they do the bus parade
- 0:31after? I think they just got this. I think they're
- 0:33doing the bus parade, Waza, right? You're jealous.
- 0:35You're jealous. I'm not, mate. We've had, mate,
- 0:37we've won it recently, mate. The team is horrible
- 0:41this year. And so, you know, you're jealous that
- 0:44we're there and whatever. Do you know, here comes
- 0:47the saltiness. And Waza, Waza, why does nobody
- 0:50like Arsenal fans? I don't understand it. God
- 0:52forbid we should celebrate. It's weird. Imagine
- 0:56being happy, Mike. Yeah, I know. I know. The
- 0:59thing is, it's yeah, you just you're only happy
- 1:02when we're miserable. No, no, no, no, no. Well,
- 1:04I mean, it's nice to have never spoken to the
- 1:09city fan. Yeah, they're also terrible losers.
- 1:11Yes. But yeah, anyway, just just just yeah, it's
- 1:13yeah, it's just something about it at the moment.
- 1:16There's just something. I have to see. I asked
- 1:20this to a friend of mine the other day, which
- 1:23was, I think that I've understood why people
- 1:25don't really enjoy what Arsenal fans are doing.
- 1:30Because like, I don't know, Mike, how do you
- 1:32feel about contributing to the death of football?
- 1:36Oh, stop it. Oh, I love that. Oh, it's getting
- 1:40all salty. That 1 -0. Honest to God. I was just
- 1:45looking at it and I was like, yes, that is. That
- 1:48is. Oh, boy. Okay. All right. Did what we needed
- 1:53to do to advance. Did what we needed to do to
- 1:56advance. And by the way, 3 -0 on the weekend.
- 2:02That was a very different looking team. Against
- 2:05a Fulham side that had a virus running through
- 2:07them. Weird, isn't it? Whatever, whatever. And
- 2:09so we took advantage of it and we played well
- 2:11and we won 3 -0. That's it. What did City do?
- 2:14What did he do? What was it? Yeah, it was this.
- 2:18Yeah, only the third player in Arsenal history
- 2:21to score 20 or more goals in his debut season.
- 2:24So I'm not saying he's Erling Haaland, but has
- 2:27he gotten better? Oh, God. Oh, no. why is it
- 2:30they've gone over the edge they've gone over
- 2:31the edge you know what i didn't say he's the
- 2:36second coming i didn't say he's the second coming
- 2:39i kind of need them to i kind of need them to
- 2:46win it this year just because like You just know,
- 2:50because given the past 20 years, there's only
- 2:52been two teams that have won a league back to
- 2:55back. This Arsenal side are not winning it next
- 2:58year. So you know what? Just win it. Get it over
- 3:01with. Get out of your system and then be in the
- 3:02relegation spot next year. This is fine. That's
- 3:05also a reality that I can live with. Listen,
- 3:08listen, I've said this all season. All season
- 3:12might have been consistent, Mike, right? I've
- 3:14been very fair. I feel I'm very fair, right?
- 3:16Well, I'm glad that you think you've been very
- 3:18fair. Well, hear me out. A Ross opinion. Super.
- 3:23Yeah, yeah. I've been very fair. I think Arsenal
- 3:26are the best. I've said I've been critical of
- 3:28City all season. All season. I've not trusted.
- 3:31I trust Arsenal more than City. Even when Arsenal
- 3:33faltered, I've always backed Arsenal. I think
- 3:35I've trusted them. They are the best team. They
- 3:39will win the league now. I think that's done.
- 3:41I think that's over now. And I don't think City
- 3:44will get maximum points between now and the end
- 3:46of the season. They are soft and erratic, Arsenal
- 3:50or not. I also don't... I think Arsenal, I said
- 3:55this, could win the Champions League. Again,
- 3:57I think they can go toe -to -toe with any team
- 3:59in Europe. Again, you might not love the way
- 4:01that they do it, but they can defensively...
- 4:05They are the best defensive team. It is going
- 4:06to be a hell of a match between the best offense
- 4:09and the best defense. Well, you say that, Mike.
- 4:11I mean, look, PSG are scared, and they will be
- 4:14the protagonist in that game, which is why people
- 4:17prefer them to Arsenal, right? Just because of
- 4:20that, which is fair. But, however, Arsenal, I
- 4:23mean, when they played City, they didn't just
- 4:25sit back. I don't think they're going to sit
- 4:26and just take a bow. No, I don't think they will
- 4:28either. I think Arsenal can, and I think match
- 4:31-up -wise, they match up quite well because I
- 4:33think... Arsenal's physicality will cause them
- 4:35a real problem from set pieces. That will be
- 4:37a problem for PSG. They're not a big team. As
- 4:39long as they start Lewis Skelly and not Zubamendi
- 4:42because PSG press like a mofo and he will get
- 4:46just lit up. They need Lewis Skelly in that spot.
- 4:50But yes. So look, I've been pretty bad, but what
- 4:52I would say is like all this, like, come on now.
- 4:55He's not like that. I didn't say he's a second
- 4:59coming. Has he found some form in the last few
- 5:01games? Can you argue with that? Two goals and
- 5:04an assist? I think what we're seeing is a red
- 5:07herring, like the most red herring of red -headed
- 5:10players. Let's see how the last three games play
- 5:12out, Joey. Let me just, let me just, let me just,
- 5:14again, trying to be fair here. You'd be a flat
- 5:17-track bully? Sure. No, no, no, no. Listen, let
- 5:20me hear me out here, okay? So, I had to remind
- 5:23my other Arsenal friend of this in this WhatsApp
- 5:25group with a lot of Man United fans who I think
- 5:27are being fair. Again, he's a bit like Mike here.
- 5:30He's gone over the cliff as Arsenal fans tend
- 5:32to do. Over the cliff? A little bit over the
- 5:33cliff, mate. I've been level -headed all season.
- 5:36Am I going to enjoy this last week? Yes, I am.
- 5:40Now you're just kind of, maybe I'm holding you
- 5:42by like your jumper. Sure, sure. Yeah, yeah,
- 5:45yeah. I'm holding you back, but listen. Appreciate
- 5:47you so much. Just hear me out on this, right?
- 5:49Okay, so look. Have I been consistently over,
- 5:52sorry, have I consistently criticized Arsenal's
- 5:55over -celebrating of things? Yes, I have. It's
- 5:58not something new for me and they do it and I
- 6:00don't like it and I'm not going to like it. And
- 6:01I think, and it's not that I don't like joy.
- 6:03I just think it's, it's not the right mindset.
- 6:05So that's one. Two, my other mate in this group
- 6:08was like, see, I had to remind him this season,
- 6:11the Man United fans, guess what they're saying,
- 6:13Mike? They're saying, oh, worst Premier League
- 6:15champions ever, right? All this nonsense, right?
- 6:17Which I think is nonsense. Guess who was peddling
- 6:20that last year? My Arsenal mate, who's now saying
- 6:22that's not fair or reasonable. When I was saying
- 6:24last year, guys, you can only beat what's in
- 6:26front of you. This worst champions nonsense is
- 6:29just bullshit. But guess what? When it's Liverpool
- 6:32winning it, it's like he was the worst. He was
- 6:34the worst champions ever. They're the worst.
- 6:36They're nothing without Salah and all this nonsense.
- 6:39You're just frustrated because your team's shit.
- 6:42That's really all that it is. And I'll also remind
- 6:45Arsenal fans that they, all of you, criticize
- 6:48Darwin Nunes and Giocares is no different. He's
- 6:50the same. If you play Darwin Nunes every game
- 6:52like Giocares, he's not that far off Darwin Nunes'
- 6:56production in the Premier League. So it's like,
- 6:58see all this nonsense? It's like, he's kind of
- 7:01average and crap, right? He's playing in a team
- 7:03that, again, he should score. If he was anywhere
- 7:05remotely good, he would have scored barrel loads
- 7:08of goals this season. But he's not. So again,
- 7:11it's all this, it's like everything. It's just
- 7:12tempered a little bit, a little bit of humility.
- 7:15I want joy, but with humility to say, do you
- 7:17know what? Let's not get, let's remember what
- 7:20we dish out. Right. Okay. And let's remember
- 7:22that in these moments and this over celebration
- 7:24dancing, like guys, you're that. I genuinely
- 7:27think that's why you're not going to win this
- 7:29thing because it's this, it's like that. You've
- 7:31not done anything. This is not even an achievement,
- 7:33right? If the ultimate, can you win the, if you,
- 7:36if you lose the final. It doesn't matter. It's
- 7:39all for nothing, right? I don't see other teams
- 7:42doing that to that level, right? I don't go and
- 7:44cheer the fans and clap. But it's as if they're
- 7:48celebrating that they've won a title. You've
- 7:50not won anything. Just don't do that. Just rein
- 7:53it back a little bit, just a little bit for me.
- 7:55And then I'm on board. And I would like Arsenal
- 7:56to win the final. I'll go on record saying that.
- 7:58I would prefer that they win the Premier League.
- 8:01because it's different and it throws another
- 8:02thing. I've been like that all season, but it
- 8:05gets hard. You make it hard for us, Mike. You
- 8:08make it hard. You're one of my favorite Arsenal
- 8:12fans, right? Come on now. Am I wrong here? So
- 8:19I completely agree with you. I completely agree
- 8:21with you, Ross, in the sense that it's... I never
- 8:24agree with Ross, but I do agree with Ross that
- 8:27the amount of crap that Liverpool got last year
- 8:29from me and Pat, because we were like, oh, you
- 8:31know, every team is exploding. So obviously Liverpool
- 8:34are going to win. But also Liverpool sewed up
- 8:36the title much sooner than Arsenal did. For sure.
- 8:39So anyway, but the two things that I want to
- 8:42highlight here, right? Firstly, setting off fireworks,
- 8:45like, sorry, not setting off fireworks, like...
- 8:48Yeah, setting off fireworks in the semi -final.
- 8:51Come on, it's a semi -final. It doesn't deserve
- 8:54fireworks. Let's stop now. Secondly, the thing
- 8:59that worries me, and Mike, all of the things
- 9:01that I ever say are out of love. They come from
- 9:04a place of love for you. I want to just make
- 9:06sure that you are protected and you are ready.
- 9:08And I just don't want to see you hurt, but I
- 9:11feel like Arsenal are going to hurt you because
- 9:12that whole number about having the best defence
- 9:15in the Champions League comes from the... The
- 9:18huge fixtures that are Club Bruges, Leverkusen,
- 9:22Atletico Madrid, Sporting Lisbon. They've not
- 9:26been tested. The second they go up against Cavazcalia
- 9:30and Ousmane Dembele, they're going to get smacked.
- 9:33There's no way. They are going to get smacked.
- 9:38I'm sorry, but Kevatskelia is going to absolutely
- 9:40murder Ben White. He's going to take the tan
- 9:42off him. I don't think Ben White's going to be
- 9:44playing. Timber will be back, right? Surely Timber's
- 9:47back. I don't know whether Timber's going to
- 9:51play another match this season. Okay, well, look,
- 9:54that's a problem. But what I would say is this,
- 9:56mate. Look, I have to say. Calafiori's back.
- 9:59Calafiori's back. Zubimendi, like Miles Osgood,
- 10:01like the fact that he dropped him. I think drop
- 10:05to the end, he shows courage. So I massively
- 10:07respect that decision. And what a difference,
- 10:09but he was the best player. Out of his skin.
- 10:12He's been fantastic. And he's a counter presser.
- 10:14He'll go and get the ball. Yes. Yeah. And you're
- 10:17going to need that against PSG. And I think the
- 10:19other thing over the last few weeks is what else
- 10:21has changed? You've got a healthy Bukaya Saka.
- 10:25And do you know what the funny thing is about
- 10:27Saka? And I will criticize that. I think his
- 10:29output is not. at an elite level, and I think
- 10:31it should be. That's why I criticise him. Clearly,
- 10:34he was carrying something because he's a different
- 10:38guy in these last few games. It's not that. It's
- 10:41more, I think when he plays, in terms of like,
- 10:43it's not obvious, but there is like, and I think
- 10:46it's because teams need to maybe double up. He
- 10:48makes space for other players. But his numbers
- 10:51need to be better, I think, for him to be truly
- 10:53world -class and elite. But he makes a huge difference.
- 10:56I would agree with that 100%. And I think, Mike,
- 10:59there's a little bit of like, when you lost at
- 11:01City, I kind of feel like the handbrake had to
- 11:05kind of, to some degree, it kind of was forced
- 11:07in terms of like, we've got to go and just like,
- 11:09what I loved is two things, Declan Rice. saying
- 11:12it's not over. And then you heard Declan Rice
- 11:14talking about Myles Lewis -Skelly saying he's
- 11:15so talented, but he said the manager was tough
- 11:17on him. So clearly he's maybe needed a little
- 11:19bit of a check because I remember last season,
- 11:21towards the end of last season, he had some shocking
- 11:23games. He was almost like he got too confident.
- 11:25He did, and he was getting a little bit too big
- 11:27for his britches. The Holland celebration was
- 11:30a little over the top, like, you know, rain at
- 11:32bay. Maybe he needed the, you know, the rains
- 11:35to pull him back off the edge of the cliff. And
- 11:37fair play to Arteta for dealing with and then
- 11:38bringing and showing that he's like, because
- 11:40I don't think Arteta, I think, for example, if
- 11:42you're Aubameyang or any of these guys, when
- 11:44you're done, you're done with him. But I think
- 11:46he's already shown there that he's open to a
- 11:48return. And again, to me, that's a sign of a
- 11:51good coach. I just wish they'd temper this fucking
- 11:54nonsense if they're over -celebrating. It's just
- 11:56like, I love joy in life. I love all the positive
- 11:59things. It's just not elite mindset. It's not
- 12:03what you do. And it comes from him. It's him.
- 12:06It's Arteta. It's a bit of nonsense. But you
- 12:09know what? It creates a bit of a pantomime around
- 12:11it. And here we are. But no, they're not going
- 12:14to get smacked by PSG. They will go toe -to -toe.
- 12:17They will... Look, that game is... I mean, PSG
- 12:20will win as favourites. Only because, in my opinion,
- 12:23not because they're a significantly better team,
- 12:26because they won it last year, they've been there,
- 12:28they've done it. That's the only reason I'd put
- 12:30them as favourites. But Declan Rice, to me, I
- 12:33expect him to have the game of his life. I completely
- 12:36agree with that. He is ready to roll. He can
- 12:40dominate that midfield. He's got to have a huge
- 12:43game. And I think it's going to be, Marquinhos
- 12:46is playing as well as any centre -half in the
- 12:47world right now, but the way he's... unbelievable.
- 12:50And the guys at Paccio beside him, I don't know
- 12:52where they got him. He looked brilliant. By the
- 12:55way, Bayern Munich, Arsenal would have spanked
- 12:58Bayern Munich in the final, I believe. Yeah,
- 12:59it was kind of a bummer that we didn't get to
- 13:01ruin something for Harry Kane. I don't know,
- 13:04Harry Kane with a hat -trick, that would have
- 13:06been poetic. It would have been, but... Also,
- 13:09on the title race, it's not actually changed,
- 13:13because Arsenal still have to win every single
- 13:15game to win the league. Like, that's fundamentally
- 13:18it, right? The goal difference now. Yeah, no,
- 13:20no, you're right. The goal doesn't matter because,
- 13:21yeah, so basically they've got to go to West
- 13:23Ham and win. Yeah. Saturday night, isn't it?
- 13:25Tomorrow night, right? Yes. Yeah, Palace are
- 13:27in a European Cup final. They're going to have
- 13:29one eye on that. They're going to beat Burnley
- 13:31at home. So it comes down to... Sorry, it's Sunday.
- 13:34It's Sunday. Is it Sunday? Oh, no, you're right.
- 13:37It's a Sunday 4 .30 game. Yes, it is. I'm going
- 13:39to watch it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. City play the
- 13:40last game tomorrow. Yes, that's right. City play
- 13:43the last game tomorrow. Yeah. I expect City to
- 13:45win that at home. I agree. I'd expect City to
- 13:48win that. The thing is, like I said, it could
- 13:51come down to goal difference, but I think that
- 13:54West Ham's going to be an interesting one. It
- 13:55was a banana skin for them last year. And the
- 13:57thing is that if Arsenal lose that game, then
- 14:00the title race, again, is completely flipped
- 14:02on its head. I just can't. It's hard for me.
- 14:04West Ham's last game, they were pretty poor.
- 14:08Yeah, but this is at home against Arsenal and
- 14:10for survival. Listen, mate, it's a huge game.
- 14:13It's going to be a massive game. I would love
- 14:17to be Pat Polzer at least sitting in his house
- 14:20for that one. What do you do? Every Spurs fan's
- 14:24head is in a blender right now. Spurs are staying
- 14:27up. I'll say that now. It's West Ham or Dunn.
- 14:29I think they're cooked. I think they blew their
- 14:32chance. Losing that match really really hurt.
- 14:35The drawing with Palace when they should have
- 14:37beaten Palace. I said that. That was a game I
- 14:39saw points. I think Spurs stay up. Again, unless...
- 14:44West Ham have to keep it light. If it's 0 -0
- 14:46at halftime, then the nerves kick in. This Arsenal
- 14:49team, again, it does seem like there is a bit
- 14:52of a difference in their mentality, which I think
- 14:54is why I'm bullish that they'll win. And I think
- 14:58really they know it comes down to that game.
- 15:01It really, I think so too. Because, I mean, you
- 15:03know, you've got... Just the fixtures after that,
- 15:06I mean Burnley. City go to Bournemouth, Mike,
- 15:08who might get sixth for Champions League if,
- 15:11I think, Villa finish fifth and they win that
- 15:13tournament, which they will, I think. It means
- 15:14that sixth place will get Champions League. So
- 15:17Bournemouth are motivated. And by the way, Waz,
- 15:21I said we'll flip now, Mike. You're off the hook
- 15:22now, so hopefully you can just relax. Come on,
- 15:25you're going to. Man City have been consistent.
- 15:27Don't trust them. Mark Gahee. Serves you right,
- 15:30you wee dick, for not joining Liverpool. You're
- 15:32a bomb scare. You're a bomb scare. You cost your
- 15:34team the league. Well done. Money well spent.
- 15:37And by the way, I'm going to talk about this.
- 15:39Criticise Zubamendi, Giocares. Antoine Semenyo
- 15:42has been crap, right? For a long time now. Crap.
- 15:47He was terrible. against Everton. He can't beat
- 15:50a man. He literally can't go past a guy anymore.
- 15:53Like, Mikalenko had to. He's not even the best
- 15:54fullback in the league. It's embarrassing. What's
- 15:57really interesting was the menu over the last
- 15:59few games. Like, when he first came over... He
- 16:01had three or four games. He was brilliant. And
- 16:03he was scoring for fun and doing a lot of stuff
- 16:07that was, you know, much more attacking when
- 16:09you think about from a fantasy perspective. And
- 16:11then what happened in that Everton game when
- 16:14they needed to score? He came off. No, because
- 16:17he's crap. He's the last few games. He's off
- 16:20it a bit, and Chirky's just ridiculous, and Doku's
- 16:24playing very well right now. He's in that last
- 16:27game. Holy cow. See, Doku, in terms of one thing,
- 16:30and look, Doku sometimes, he's so hit and miss.
- 16:33I mean, two unbelievable goals. Unbelievable.
- 16:35Not repeatable, but unbelievable. I do think,
- 16:38I just love the fact he just goes at people.
- 16:39He's just so positive with the ball. But see,
- 16:41Semenyo, do you know what I think's happened?
- 16:43This is my analysis of it. I think with Gahey
- 16:47a little bit as well, but I think when they first
- 16:48came, City were quite frantic, right? And teams,
- 16:51they were very open, right? And I think when
- 16:53you go, if you think about Bournemouth, right?
- 16:55He was so good at Bournemouth, right? In games
- 16:58in Bournemouth, he gets a lot of space one -on
- 17:00-one. because of the way that Bournemouth play,
- 17:02right? See City now, because City are kind of,
- 17:05they've ascended back to play, you know, being
- 17:07the team that people fear. What do teams do?
- 17:09Like everyone, like, okay, we're going to make
- 17:10it a bit tougher for you. And he's one, I always
- 17:12say that this is the, the people that jump from
- 17:14like being like these good ones to being like
- 17:15elite wingers are the ones that you go like,
- 17:18okay, they're going to double team you. Like
- 17:19Salah, how many times have you been double team?
- 17:21Mane, like people would try and stop these guys.
- 17:23you just can't stop them for 90 minutes because
- 17:25they're so good. And he looks like his confidence
- 17:28is gone. He's not, because he looked like a goal
- 17:30machine to start with. Hallam wasn't scoring.
- 17:31He was filling the void. The reason I'm saying
- 17:33this, I've held him in fantasy. I know. And he's
- 17:36been crap, Mike. Me too. I know. I'm ready for
- 17:39a jumping defense. I'm ready for a sideways move
- 17:42to Cherokee for sure. Yeah, I've got Cherokee,
- 17:44so I'm going to go Doku because it's like, at
- 17:46least he's like, you know. He's very differential.
- 17:48I'm going to put this out there. The January
- 17:50signings, not good enough. Mark Gahee, has been
- 17:53erratic. I don't think he's been that good at
- 17:55City, by the way. And also, his defence isn't
- 17:57great. He's erratic. And by the way, that mistake
- 17:59is, you know, they talk about Steven Gerrard
- 18:01when he slipped. He slipped. That's so unfortunate.
- 18:03That is a shocker. Like, he's not even under
- 18:05pressure. Like, how do you make that mistake?
- 18:08Like, do you know what it is? Because you're
- 18:09a little, you're a betrayed Liverpool. That's
- 18:11karma, Mark Gahee. That's karma. Betrayed Liverpool.
- 18:16Betrayed Liverpool. Oh. Yes. Yes. Oh, my goodness.
- 18:21Betrayed Liverpool. Erling Haaland, shite as
- 18:24well. Oh, of course. Yeah, absolutely. He's been
- 18:27terrible. He's also been terrible. Like Cherokee
- 18:29and Gronk are carrying the team at the moment.
- 18:31Are we ready to be adults again? And Nico, one
- 18:34of the worst midfielders I've ever seen in my
- 18:36life as well. He is absolutely woeful. Anyone
- 18:39else want to talk about Rodri? Phil Foden. What's
- 18:43happened to Phil Foden? He signed a legendary
- 18:45five -year extension. I'll sign five years to
- 18:47sit on the bench. Well done, Phil. Shocker that
- 18:50that happened. Yeah, so what we're saying is
- 18:54City had a bad game. Cool. All right. Because
- 18:57Semenya carried us pretty much through February.
- 18:59He pretty much carried us. And Gehi has been
- 19:03there to support while Diaz has been fully injured.
- 19:06So he had a blip. And otherwise, we've been pretty
- 19:09solid. Like, he had a blip. It happens. People
- 19:13make mistakes, right? Like, it just happens.
- 19:15But I will agree, that was one of the worst games
- 19:20we've played all season. We were shocking all
- 19:22over the park. The thing that I get frustrated
- 19:24about isn't the January signings. It's Nico Gonzalez
- 19:27still getting picked. I don't understand. He
- 19:29is terrible. I don't understand what he does
- 19:31for the team. What is wrong? I don't know what's
- 19:35happened to Randers. I'm actually going to start
- 19:36looking for articles on what's happened to Randers
- 19:39because he was great and then he just stopped
- 19:41playing. He's a great player. I know he's not
- 19:44the Rodri. He's not that. It's like Ryan Gravenberg
- 19:47at Liverpool. He is a more offensive... He's
- 19:50not a true holding midfielder, right? Like you
- 19:52have with somebody like Rodri, who thinks about,
- 19:55OK, what if we lose the ball? But, like you say,
- 19:58I'd rather have Gravenberg... You put Reinders
- 20:01there and say, look, I just need you to be disciplined.
- 20:04He's just one of those guys. He's athletic. He's
- 20:06got all the... He's not a small guy. He's a powerful
- 20:09runner. I just think, why would you not... I
- 20:15don't know what happened because he was the guy
- 20:16at the start of the season. He was scoring goals.
- 20:18He was the guy. And then it's like exile. Phil
- 20:21Foden, you think in these games, you go, what
- 20:22an option to have Phil Foden on your bench to
- 20:25change a game. And he comes on and he just runs
- 20:28about like he's never played football before.
- 20:29Just like I head with a new shite haircut every
- 20:32time I see him. And you're like, Phil, what's
- 20:34happened to you, Phil? Has he got a side hustle
- 20:36or what's going on, mate? I mean, he can't go
- 20:39to the World Cup. There's no way you can take
- 20:41Foden to the World Cup, the form he's in. He
- 20:44doesn't deserve to go. He doesn't deserve to
- 20:46go. No, absolutely doesn't. But yes, I think,
- 20:48mate, I say I smell it. They've been so weak.
- 20:52And look, the fact that, look, one thing you
- 20:54say about Arsenal, the fact that you're even
- 20:55in contention for the title is a little bit embarrassing.
- 20:59This should have been, Arsenal are by far the
- 21:01best team in the league and they will win it
- 21:03and deserve to win it. But this should have been
- 21:04done already. Not by far. I wouldn't say they
- 21:08are. They are. How many players in Man City have
- 21:12to sign to be as good as Arsenal? I think it's
- 21:14five or six. Honestly, there's a lot of players.
- 21:17Look, Nico O 'Reilly has been the best thing
- 21:20this season. He's been the player of the season
- 21:21for us. He's got a start for England at left
- 21:23-back. Oh, my God. He has been a sensation. He
- 21:27is such a good technical footballer, but he's
- 21:30got that size and athleticism and strength. He's
- 21:33phenomenal. What a find he's been. Unbelievable
- 21:36player. Fantastic. Cherokee, obviously, fantastic
- 21:40signing. But you look at Marmoosh. Oh, yeah,
- 21:43I don't know what's happened to Marmoosh. Another
- 21:45one. All that's going to happen is that we're
- 21:49going to have a huge clear -out this summer.
- 21:51Like, the people that we're going to go, you're
- 21:52going to see, like, Nico Gonzalez go, Bernardo's
- 21:55going, Savinho's going to go. Foden, I'm surprised
- 21:58he's still here, but sure, why not? Five years.
- 22:01Maybe because Pep's leaving. Maybe that's the
- 22:03signal Pep's leaving. He thinks he's going to
- 22:04get a fair whack, but yeah, I don't know what's
- 22:05happening. Then Ake will go as well. We're probably
- 22:07going to, like, I don't know what's happened
- 22:10with Ait Nuri. I think he still might be injured.
- 22:11I'm not sure. But, like, a number of people are
- 22:14going to leave. He's been okay. He's been okay,
- 22:16but fundamentally, a number of people will be
- 22:18leaving next season, like, in the summer. I imagine
- 22:22that... The only thing that I can think about
- 22:24with Reinders is the fact that Bernardo Silva
- 22:26plays in the same role, and right now Bernardo
- 22:28Silva is Bernardo Silva. Look, Bernardo Silva
- 22:32is phenomenal. He's undroppable. He is the person
- 22:37that you need at this time of the season to just
- 22:38keep the team pulled up. You play him, you play
- 22:40Chirky and Reinders. Chirky's the one that's
- 22:43going to carry them to the end, it seems, just
- 22:44the way he's been playing. Even Chirky, though,
- 22:47against everyone. he's a bit no he was he's too
- 22:50inconsistent the difference he's a bit happy
- 22:51and he's it's like I don't know he's a bit like
- 22:53I don't know I didn't love the performance from
- 22:56him either he's too inconsistent I think the
- 22:58big thing is with City is there is there's a
- 23:02similar lack of cohesion that we have at Liverpool
- 23:05in terms of like there's good individual players
- 23:08right so when you know Isak is a great example
- 23:10everyone's raving I think he's been okay this
- 23:13year. I don't think he's been... He's very erratic.
- 23:14I don't think he's... There's not that cohesion
- 23:16in our attacking play where guys know the movement
- 23:19and runs. Where Arsenal, I think, have got a
- 23:21little bit more of that now. Especially when
- 23:24Saka plays, there's a bit more balance and cohesion
- 23:25there. I think City's... Like, Haaland's just...
- 23:28His all -round play is really poor. Cherokee,
- 23:32I feel they're all trying to do to him. Doku's
- 23:33the one that I go, they always get in the ball
- 23:35and things look like they're going to happen
- 23:37when it goes... Also because Nico O 'Reilly plays
- 23:39in that channel. You're making those runs. I
- 23:41think that's where a lot, Semenyo's been rubbish.
- 23:43They don't really, I think, what's the boy, Mateus
- 23:46Nunez at right back has been dreadful for the
- 23:47past six, seven weeks as well. He's been doing
- 23:52all right, actually. He's not been doing terribly.
- 23:54No, no, I mean, attacking output -wise, he had
- 23:56a period there where he's obviously not a fullback
- 23:58by trade. He's technically good, but he just
- 24:01goes backwards. He just doesn't. overlap and
- 24:04do enough to me now, you know, where that's where
- 24:07maybe it would help Semenya a little bit. Like
- 24:09he, maybe he's been told to be disciplined because
- 24:11they're so crap at the back, but I don't know.
- 24:13But I also think Donnarumma's a bust. He's been,
- 24:15I don't, I think he's, I know he's - Donnarumma
- 24:17has not been doing brilliantly. No, I don't like
- 24:19him. I don't feel confident. His feed is not
- 24:22pretty. Oh, dude, like awful. His, his distribution
- 24:26is shocking. Half of the ones are O 'Reilly for
- 24:30the goal against Arsenal, but yes, he's generally...
- 24:33He's just got a howler. He's one of those keepers
- 24:35you just go, you know there's a mistake in him.
- 24:36He just feels like there's that. But yes, so
- 24:40look, it looks like... So, Wanzi, you're still
- 24:41optimistic. It's not quite done yet. Maybe after
- 24:44this weekend, you may accept defeat. If Arsenal
- 24:46win, maybe you'll accept defeat then. Maybe not.
- 24:49I still don't think that it's done. I still think
- 24:52that City can win all of their games and just
- 24:54keep the pressure up on Arsenal until the final
- 24:56day. And then that's when, like, it is crunch
- 24:59time like do arsenal have what it takes to win
- 25:01on the final day i mean don't get me wrong it's
- 25:03against the team that is completely checked out
- 25:05but like can they do it like we're going to be
- 25:07playing villa which will be completely checked
- 25:10out as well Or he'll rest a lot. He won't care.
- 25:13He'll rest a lot of players. Yep, now that they're
- 25:17in the final. Now they're in the final, he might
- 25:19very well do that. But the thing is, powers are
- 25:22the same. So you're playing, it's two good fixtures,
- 25:25to be honest. The only difference is the Gooners
- 25:27are away. It's obviously away from home. It's
- 25:29a little bit tougher. Their fans will demand
- 25:30a level of effort. But whereas, you know, I think
- 25:33at home, like Villa will just be, that should
- 25:35be a skoosh for City. It's the Bournemouth away
- 25:37game. That's why I think. I think you'll beat
- 25:40Brentford. But I think, yeah, I think the West
- 25:42Ham game, it becomes about that for Arsenal.
- 25:46So let's see. Let's see. We did have some drama,
- 25:49though. Obviously, we'll have to talk about Man
- 25:51United, Liverpool. I mean, it's kind of, I feel
- 25:54weird, though. When has that game even happened?
- 25:56I know. It's usually such a... Well, that's what
- 25:59I was about to say. I was literally about to
- 26:01say that. It's almost like one of those games
- 26:02that was like, that should have been the main
- 26:04talking point, but it just isn't. That, in fact,
- 26:07is irrelevant. It's basically two teams that
- 26:09showed both of their weaknesses, I felt. Liverpool
- 26:12dreadful to start slot to me, inept tactically.
- 26:15I don't know what we were doing. Then Man United
- 26:17just imploding. And I think just two teams, centre
- 26:21midfields, are so easy to play through. And it
- 26:24ended up being a good game in terms of goals.
- 26:27We had quite a lot. I'm not saying they were
- 26:29the highest quality goals. But yeah, I can't
- 26:32tell you. United deserve to win. I don't think
- 26:33we deserve to win. We'd taken a point quite happily
- 26:36and got out of there. But obviously it secures
- 26:38Champions League football for Manchester United.
- 26:42Do we think Carrick's done enough to earn...
- 26:45Man United fans seem a bit mixed opinion on this
- 26:47now. Do you think he's done enough to earn another
- 26:49year, maybe two years, three years? What do we
- 26:52think? Absolutely. I think so. 100%. They won't,
- 26:57but mathematically, they could still finish in
- 27:00second. Yeah. He's done enough. Here's a question
- 27:04then. This is a question I put to Man United
- 27:06fans. I'm with you, mate. I think he absolutely
- 27:08has earned it. So I think you have to. However,
- 27:11if I said Unai Emery was available, what would
- 27:16you do? I'd still sign Carrick. You would still
- 27:19sign Carrick? Yes. I think the difference between...
- 27:22I think it's very easy to fall into the trap
- 27:26of thinking, oh, but what happened to Ole Gunnar
- 27:27Solskjaer? And I think that they're two very
- 27:30different... managers olo was very much vibes
- 27:33let's hope for the best that ronaldo can save
- 27:35me while carrick was very Carrick actually has
- 27:38a game plan, which is basically disrupt the midfield
- 27:41and take some chances. And yes, we might concede.
- 27:43It's fine. You take him over. If Emery said,
- 27:46I've done this with Villa. I want a bigger challenge.
- 27:48You wouldn't take Unai Emery. You'd take Michael
- 27:50Carrick. I think that's madness. I think it's
- 27:53more so because I think that the, I don't think
- 27:55that the United fans would take to him. And it's
- 27:57right now about having harmony amongst the fans.
- 27:59He's so good, man. I think the thing is, I would
- 28:02say like Lewis and Ricky, I think it's just Pat.
- 28:05You're not going to get like, I'm trying. I mean,
- 28:07realistically, Unai Emery could make himself
- 28:09available for that job, I believe. That's a realistic
- 28:11person that says, his agent, look, he would be
- 28:15interested in the job because now the foundation,
- 28:17a lot of the deadwood's clear. I know that they're
- 28:19getting Hoyland and Rashford and Sancho all come
- 28:21back. People forget this. They all come back,
- 28:25right? They've got to figure that out. But as
- 28:29much as I think Carrick has earned that, to me,
- 28:33if you can't get an elite manager of Emery or
- 28:34better, that's my bar. you stick with Carrick.
- 28:38But you don't go Eriola, you don't go Glasner,
- 28:41because I think there's more jeopardy in that,
- 28:44I think, than sticking with him for at least
- 28:47one or two years. But I would definitely say
- 28:49if an elite manager like Emery comes along, I
- 28:51think you'd have to, that's just my opinion.
- 28:53But you would think Carrick's the guy now, regardless.
- 28:56I think he's done enough to earn the job, yeah.
- 28:58Yeah, that's fair. Well, I mean, look at Arsenal.
- 29:03I mean, I do like the fact that, like, stick
- 29:06with a manager, pays dividends. I like that that's
- 29:10the case because I believe in that, generally
- 29:11speaking. Obviously, if you get it wrong, you've
- 29:13got to make a decision if you know. But, you
- 29:16know, like Arsenal, you think about it, I mean,
- 29:18you know, I know it's been six years and people
- 29:21say, well, all the money spent and stuff, but
- 29:22you go, it's been pretty awesome to be an Arsenal
- 29:25fan over the past, certainly, three or four years,
- 29:27right? Yeah. Net -net. Yes, yes. We're past the
- 29:34Arsene Wenger fourth place trophy. You can win
- 29:37things now. You can win meaningful trophies.
- 29:39You actually know you're good enough to win all
- 29:42the meaningful trophies, which is always, that's
- 29:44to me, all you can kind of, and now it's about,
- 29:46can he just, you know. I'm worried that Wenger's
- 29:50going to be in the stands in Budapest, though,
- 29:51because, you know, they're. But yeah, so the
- 29:56race for Europe. So look. If Aston Villa finish
- 29:59fifth and win the Europa League, which we think
- 30:02they will, they should, then sixth becomes Champions
- 30:06League, which is obviously good for Liverpool
- 30:07because it's a bit of a safety net. It should
- 30:09be fine. I think Liverpool play Chelsea this
- 30:11weekend, a draw or a win. I think a win secures
- 30:13it pretty much, I think, for us. We've got to
- 30:15beat a Chelsea team that are all over the place.
- 30:18Villa on the same points as us, but again, Premier
- 30:20League form hasn't been as good. I don't expect
- 30:24to see Bournemouth or anyone catching Villa or
- 30:26Liverpool now at six points with three games
- 30:28to go. It feels like a stretch, right? Yeah.
- 30:31I think so. Sorry, your Everton bet is not going
- 30:36to pay off. It's not. I just saw some value.
- 30:38I just felt the time. But yeah, it didn't pay
- 30:40out. But yeah, it was speculative. But we have
- 30:43to talk at the bottom of the table, not about
- 30:45West Ham Spurs. We've done that today. But Burnley,
- 30:47the part with their manager, Scott Parker, who...
- 30:51I would have fired him for his choice of clothing
- 30:54alone. On the touchline, it's unforgivably bad.
- 30:58Almost as bad, I don't know if you saw Vincent
- 30:59Company midweek. That's the first thing I was
- 31:01like, he's clearly watched a Michael Jackson
- 31:03movie. Dude, what the fuck are you wearing? You
- 31:07look like an absolute... There is an element
- 31:10where you get to an age where you've got to dress
- 31:11age -appropriate, big man. Vincent... you've
- 31:15misread the room there. I don't know what happened,
- 31:17but that was just like, you deserve to go out
- 31:19for that outfit. I'm sorry. It's, it's just very,
- 31:22yeah, very offending to me, but Scott Parker,
- 31:25this is interesting. I want to get your take
- 31:26guys. Right. So obviously Burnley might, you
- 31:28know, American owned by one of the Walt brothers
- 31:30at NFL superstars. Right. Really intelligent
- 31:34guys, by the way, speaks well, but an American
- 31:37footballer. Yeah, I think they've got a Spanish
- 31:39team now as well. There's an Espanol. Yeah, I
- 31:42mean, him and Tom Brady, there's a bunch of them
- 31:44out there. They're doing it, right? But here's
- 31:46the interesting thing. So I've got a good friend,
- 31:49Aiden, who at that, by the way, was team one,
- 31:52the AWS Cup Shield. So Aiden Ratcliffe, top scorer,
- 31:56MVP. Aiden's a big Burnley fan. So Aiden's giving
- 31:59me some insight. Very toxic, he says, at the
- 32:02club at the moment, not happy. What Aiden didn't
- 32:04understand is why did they wait? Why did they?
- 32:06Why did they not get rid of him in December or
- 32:08January when they went on like a... He said it
- 32:10was like, I don't know, it was a 10, 15... Didn't
- 32:12win a game in like 10, 12 games or something,
- 32:14right? I don't know the exact stat. They're waiting
- 32:17now to get rid of him. Do you know which manager,
- 32:20historically, has the best percentage of getting
- 32:23teams promoted from the Championship to the Premier
- 32:25League? Can you guess who it is? Championship
- 32:28to the Premier League? Is that... It's a leading
- 32:31question. It's obvious the answer. It's not Sean
- 32:36Dyche. No, it's Scott Parker. It's Scott Parker.
- 32:40So he is statistically the best manager at getting
- 32:43you promoted from the championship to the Premier
- 32:45League. So they wait until it's too late to do
- 32:48anything. Don't sack him then. And sack him now
- 32:50when they get relegated back to the championship.
- 32:53Only to hire him back to get them to promote
- 32:55a show. They almost should. The smart thing to
- 32:58do is say he's so good at getting you back. And
- 33:01then you can fire him when he gets you up, right?
- 33:04Isn't that the most bonkers thing? What is going
- 33:06on there? Yeah, I guess who's going to come in?
- 33:13Which manager that is good enough to manage in
- 33:16the Premier League wants to go to a fledgling
- 33:19Burnley? I know, but I just think, do you know
- 33:22what I just don't understand? Aidan said this
- 33:24to me and he's right. It was so obvious by January.
- 33:28If they don't change, it was critical. Wolves
- 33:31left it too long. You had a chance to say, and
- 33:34it's just like, sometimes a change, you've got
- 33:35to look at Nottingham Forest, right? What a difference
- 33:37that's made, that guy coming in, right? I think
- 33:40it was so clear that the trajectory under Parker
- 33:42just wasn't going to change. And I think if you've
- 33:44got the confidence to stick with him through
- 33:46the season to define your relegation, and you
- 33:48know he's the best guy to get you back up, why
- 33:50would you then fire him? Why do it now when you're
- 33:53already down? It doesn't make a lot of sense,
- 33:55does it? Weird. Yeah, very, very strange. But
- 34:00they were saying that he was the cause of the
- 34:02toxicity? Is that what Aidan was saying? No,
- 34:04it's toxic because the fans, so basically what
- 34:06Aidan was saying is that obviously performance
- 34:08on the field, right? So that's number one. Number
- 34:11two is that owners have now bought the Spanish
- 34:13team. I think they've transferred one of their
- 34:15best players is going to go to the Spanish team.
- 34:17So they're like, they've got the shiny new toy.
- 34:19We're now not that. Aidan did say a lot that
- 34:22Burnley fans are not the sharpest tools in the
- 34:24box, but they're just very much like, This is
- 34:29terrible. There's a horrible atmosphere at the
- 34:32ground. It's really not a good vibe at all. Maybe
- 34:36hire Oli. Get Oli in for the vibes. There you
- 34:39go. Problem solved. Not good from top to bottom,
- 34:46he was saying at the moment. Obviously, this
- 34:47is a bit of a bizarre decision to stick with
- 34:50him the whole season. It's been clear for months
- 34:53they're getting relegated. It was just a weird
- 34:56timing when you know he's the guy probably best
- 34:58equipped to get you straight back up. And then
- 35:00you maybe know he's not the guy to push you on.
- 35:05Anyway, very, very strange. While we're on Championship
- 35:08for a moment, I was just looking at the table.
- 35:09Can we all just reflect for a moment of what
- 35:12it might be like if Millwall... Oh my God. Can
- 35:16you... Imagine Millwall West Ham. I mean, like...
- 35:20You know, dust off the brass knucks. Holy smokes.
- 35:25Can you imagine what that would be like? That's
- 35:29a little scary. That's scary. That is scary.
- 35:33Okay, listen, let's move on to – I mean, we're
- 35:36getting to – it's the business end of the season,
- 35:39Mike. I think in a lot of leagues it's maybe
- 35:41not – some leagues will be tight, but, you know,
- 35:43a lot of leagues it's maybe – the gap's now too
- 35:45big with chips all played or mostly played. Mostly
- 35:47played. This is the last week. Like if you don't
- 35:49have, if you haven't played your triple captain,
- 35:51you play it. And I think Cherky's the guy you
- 35:54play it on. Yeah. You go Cherky. Yeah. If, if
- 35:58I had it to play right now and I was chasing
- 36:00a hundred percent. No, no, no. And the reason
- 36:04for that is that look, Doku's goals last week
- 36:07were amazing, but those are not repeatable. every
- 36:11week and Cherokee's play has been repeatable
- 36:13and his XG and his XA is much stronger. And he's
- 36:18just in that part of the park where he's more
- 36:21likely to, to get you the returns. And so if
- 36:24I were chasing and still had my triple captain,
- 36:26I would a hundred percent put it on Cherokee.
- 36:29Okay. Yeah, absolutely. I think that Cherokee
- 36:33is going to... Cherokee had a bad game, but in
- 36:36the past few months, it's not had that many.
- 36:39No. I think that that was the wake -up call that
- 36:41City needed. So I can see them winning the rest
- 36:45of their games, and I think that Cherokee is
- 36:46going to be a big part of that. Yeah. I'm not...
- 36:49Yeah, I think Cherokee is definitely the sensible
- 36:55option. And you know me, I don't like sensible
- 36:57options. It's still a differential. I would say
- 37:00that most people, if you're hedging, Holland's
- 37:05suddenly found the back of the net. And so I
- 37:07think a lot of people will triple captain him
- 37:09just because of effective ownership. But if you're
- 37:11chasing, then I think Cherokee's the guy. Okay.
- 37:15Because you have to go differential. Yeah, I
- 37:18think. I mean, we're just talking about a triple
- 37:24captainship. I know. I'm starting to think so.
- 37:27The only other two players I have in my mind
- 37:29are O 'Reilly and Doku. I mean, obviously, Haaland
- 37:36is not a differential, right? So that's why we're
- 37:38not saying Haaland. But I think there's more.
- 37:42I think Cherkis, like Bruno Fernandes, you're
- 37:44going to get a solid return. I think the difference
- 37:47with, like, O 'Reilly and Doku is you could have
- 37:50the... the mega weak, right? I think that they
- 37:52have more upside. I think he might have missed
- 37:56it last week with Doku. Yes, maybe. But again,
- 38:00he's in form. It's like they need to go and win
- 38:01games. I do feel he's like Semenu's not in form.
- 38:04I mean, the other one, take a flyer on Semenu.
- 38:07Maybe he'll hear this podcast and just get spiteful
- 38:09and show us what he's made of. So, Waz, do you
- 38:12think that they start Foden over Semenu? Absolutely
- 38:15not. Absolutely not. Not after signing the five
- 38:19-year extension? Over a patched head body. That's
- 38:22not happening. Because the thing is that, like,
- 38:24Semenu, yes, 100 % is going through a rough patch,
- 38:27but he can finish a lot better. We know it's
- 38:31in his locker. Yeah, exactly. It's like, this
- 38:35is a moment, and he will come good. I'm not worried.
- 38:38But Foden is not consistent enough right now.
- 38:42Um, I wouldn't put it on O 'Reilly either because
- 38:44O 'Reilly also doesn't have that consistency.
- 38:46I still think Chucky is the best shout here right
- 38:49now. I think so. Yeah. Okay. Okay. There you
- 38:51go. The wisdom it's, it's, it's gotta be Chucky.
- 38:53Anyone else where any other, any other people
- 38:56are looking at picking up or anyone we like the
- 38:57next week? This is the thing. right like everyone
- 39:01should be at this point you should be tripled
- 39:03on arsenal you should be tripled on city for
- 39:04the double my question that i'm still wrestling
- 39:07with and thankfully the deadline is tomorrow
- 39:09and i'll have more time to think about is is
- 39:13a palace asset worth it at all for the double
- 39:17and i don't i don't think it is for a bunch of
- 39:19reasons but like between the fact that now they're
- 39:24going to be mentally checked out because of european
- 39:27play they're There's already been, you know,
- 39:31like it's clear the manager's rotating all over
- 39:34the place. And so Munoz has come off early the
- 39:38last two or three matches. And so I think the
- 39:41only two players that are even worth considering
- 39:45are Lacroix and Henderson. And you're doing it
- 39:49for one week. And so I just, I feel like. I think
- 39:54Henderson would be able to single game weekers
- 39:57that could outscore either of them pretty easily.
- 39:59Like shit Hill or Senesi could outscore them.
- 40:03Yeah. I think Henderson saves. I think, yeah,
- 40:07I actually go the other way. I would, if I was
- 40:09going to take a pun and is it, look, this is
- 40:11a pun because I don't know what Glasgow will
- 40:13do in terms of it. It's they've got two games
- 40:15in the game week. So I don't know how many, I'd
- 40:18imagine he's not going to completely arrest everyone.
- 40:20Strand Larsson should get more minutes than Mateta
- 40:22over those two games net -net. That is a crazy
- 40:25punt with the other forwards. I mean, that is...
- 40:29It's a crazy punt, but it's one of those ones
- 40:32where you go, do you know what? The problem with
- 40:34Palace is they don't really score that many goals.
- 40:36I think you're right. That's why you lean defensively.
- 40:38There's just safety in the minutes back there.
- 40:41A little bit more, but it's not... Even that,
- 40:44it's just... He is clearly rotating for Europe
- 40:48right now. Yeah. I think it's, I think it's,
- 40:51it's a horrible situation. I'm just avoiding
- 40:53it because I just don't like that point. I don't
- 40:55know that I can trust the minutes enough. And
- 40:58I look elsewhere and I know, I mean like Villa
- 41:00go to Burnley. This is why when I look, I go
- 41:03like, I want teams to have something to play
- 41:04for us to see as much as you look at Villa, that's
- 41:06a green fixture. Yeah. They become red headings
- 41:09at this point of the season. I look at Bournemouth
- 41:11away at Fulham. That's a game that I want a piece
- 41:14of because. I think Bournemouth have a lot to
- 41:16play for. Like, I would not sell their assets,
- 41:19even though, yeah, even though they have City,
- 41:22the stuff around that, they've got a lot to play
- 41:24for. Yeah, Leeds as well. So they go away to
- 41:26Taunton, home of Brighton, away to West Ham.
- 41:28They've got three. fixtures where I expect that's
- 41:30what I'm holding Calvert -Lewin I expect points
- 41:32in those games and there are some other attacking
- 41:35assets there that I think could be looked at
- 41:37and then the other team is Brighton that's the
- 41:39big one for me Rose at home big sort of dark
- 41:42green fixture leads away Man United at home Man
- 41:44United will have nothing to play for they'll
- 41:46finish third and they're not going to finish
- 41:47worse than that so I look at those are the ones
- 41:50that I would take around your Arsenal and City
- 41:52ones I'd be looking at those teams again I know
- 41:54it's going to be like depending on what you've
- 41:56got in terms of transfers. So you maybe need
- 41:58to pick, like, who are the players you think
- 41:59in those teams. If I think about Brighton, they
- 42:03do rotate a bit, like, especially in the attacking
- 42:05areas. I like Welbeck, if you know he's going
- 42:07to start. He's a great differential. I'm already
- 42:10tripled up on them from the wild card, and so,
- 42:12like, it's two transfers to bring him in, but
- 42:14he is a really good differential, I think. He
- 42:16is. He is. I think Van Hecke at the back is a
- 42:18really good pick up there as well. Bournemouth
- 42:20Creepy Jr. is an obvious one. I think Sanessi's
- 42:23the other one. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's like not
- 42:27that he's, he's from a fantasy perspective, like
- 42:30he's lost penalties. He's not really good. And
- 42:33then the other one I would say is the only other
- 42:34one, which was out there, the leads at home,
- 42:37Chelsea away, everyone almost taught them because
- 42:39they have got a lot to play for. And don't be
- 42:42shaking your head. Was it right? Okay. They've
- 42:44won. So, so, but you think about it again, that's
- 42:46a team that I could look at and go. Pedro Poro
- 42:49is appealing to me a little bit, right? He gets,
- 42:51he's involved in a lot of their, their forward
- 42:53play. I think he is appealing. But yeah, you
- 42:56look at that Tottenham team and you go, it might
- 42:58be worth the odd pickup there. If you're looking
- 43:00for some differential, because a lot of people
- 43:02don't trust them, but they have got as much to
- 43:04play for as anyone. And they are going out to
- 43:07win games of football, right? So, you know, again,
- 43:09I don't know that I trust the clean sheets as
- 43:12much. I would lean attacking options, but I do
- 43:14think Pedro Poro, because he plays like a right
- 43:16winger. would be the only defensive one I would
- 43:18consider. And then you have to look around and
- 43:21think, right, okay, well, who's fit for them
- 43:22at the moment, right? They've got a lot of players
- 43:24out injured. But, yeah, I mean, Richarlison becomes,
- 43:27you know, I would never put him in, but, you
- 43:29know, he is going to get the minutes, right?
- 43:31And he is involved in the box. He's a penalty
- 43:34box striker, and they need to win games of football.
- 43:37So they're the other team that I'm looking at
- 43:38as well. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Morally, I can't do
- 43:43that. And to be honest, I probably need to be
- 43:48less aggressive because I'm like, I am topping
- 43:50a lot of leagues and some are tight though. So
- 43:52I need to be like, maybe just be more channel
- 43:54my one or two differentials, not 11. Yeah. You
- 43:58know me, I like to be just so I can brag about
- 44:00it and go, yeah, I called that, you know, I chuck
- 44:02in Jared Bowen, to be honest, because I feel
- 44:04like it's always towards the tail end of the
- 44:06season with West Ham that he becomes superhuman.
- 44:08Like every year. I really wish Arsenal would
- 44:11sign him. I mean, Arsenal at home, when they
- 44:15go away in Newcastle, it's just a tough place
- 44:18to play. Yeah, but he just pulls it out. Look,
- 44:20I don't mind it. I'm a big Bone fan. I'm with
- 44:24you. I just think that next week I would do a
- 44:27free transfer. I think Arsenal will just be...
- 44:30Picking him up against the Arsenal defence is
- 44:34a tough one. I don't know. Do it. Do it. I think
- 44:40you should do it. This is your moment. This is
- 44:46me calling out any of the listeners who don't
- 44:49want to be cowards that I think that they should
- 44:52take Bowen if they want a little bit of spice.
- 44:54I love it. I love it. A little bit of a sizzle.
- 44:58I love it from Waza to finish this off. Well,
- 45:00listen, it's been a pleasure. Mike, hopefully
- 45:02we've managed to, you know, preach some humility
- 45:06into you and your fan base. Look, you're talking
- 45:09to the wrong Arsenal fan. But you are our figurehead
- 45:15for all Arsenal fans on this podcast. You know
- 45:17that. So it's just how it is. It's the same.
- 45:20I'll take the heat for the Liverpool fans and
- 45:21without there being morons, I'll just have to
- 45:23do it and front it up. You did it well and gracefully
- 45:25as always. Well, gracefully to a point. But you
- 45:30are a Boston sports fan, so I expect a little
- 45:32bit of saltiness. But listen, what a weekend
- 45:36we've got coming up. in Scotland is spicy so
- 45:40Hearts could win the league Celtic play Rangers
- 45:43Celtic have to beat Rangers in order to have
- 45:45a hope of stopping Hearts a lot of neutral fans
- 45:48up here want Hearts to win for obvious reasons
- 45:50so that's Sunday at 12 you've got obviously City
- 45:52play Saturday I think it's the late game and
- 45:54then Arsenal go on the prime time Sunday afternoon
- 45:57spot there and then you've got obviously the
- 45:59relegation games around that and Liverpool Chelsea
- 46:01which again should be a big game but really isn't
- 46:03doesn't feel like it is Chelsea is just hot garbage
- 46:06because of yeah because neither team are really
- 46:08playing for an awful lot so but look we'll enjoy
- 46:10the weekend of sport um and yeah let's see listen
- 46:13i'm looking forward to next week because either
- 46:15way it's going to be fun for me i'm like right
- 46:17in the middle here it depends one way or the
- 46:18other it'll be uh there'll be some uh yeah there'll
- 46:21be some bullets um good okay well it's good to
- 46:25chat to you boys have a great weekend thanks
- 46:27everyone for listening and we'll see you next
- 46:29time
