- 0:00Hi, everybody. Happy Wednesday.
- 0:03Wednesday here we are, November 5th.
- 0:05Can you believe it? We've got two years, two months
- 0:07left in the year and we are going to talk today about Mom
- 0:11Domi. He just won in New York and what
- 0:14happened in Virginia. Everybody knows but the
- 0:18conservatives or the Republicans.
- 0:20You should, I should say it lost.
- 0:22What does it all mean? I actually have a lot of
- 0:24thoughts on this and it's been bubbling up in my mind lately of
- 0:26regarding women and this trend of women voting left and
- 0:31identifying more as left. It's much more than politics.
- 0:34It has to do with culture and identity.
- 0:36So we're going to get into that in today's episode.
- 0:38Also, I had some interesting conversations on X recently
- 0:42regarding the, I think, fallout after Charlie Kirk's horrific
- 0:47murder and people that are now trying to take on and away his
- 0:51platform or take on now leadership on what is called the
- 0:55right. And I have some thoughts on that
- 0:57too. But what does everybody think
- 0:59about Momdami? That's what the wall to wall
- 1:01coverage is about. He's a self-proclaimed
- 1:03democratic socialist. He just won big in New York
- 1:06City. Now remember Mom Domi was
- 1:08running against two other hard leftist Cuomo, Andrew Cuomo, who
- 1:13is a hardcore pro abort. So it's not as if if Mom Domi
- 1:16had lost to Cuomo that would have somehow been a win.
- 1:19But it is interesting that Mom Domi won, especially how he won
- 1:24hard with women, especially young women.
- 1:27In fact, he got 81% of the female, the young female vote,
- 1:30which is wild. So I want to take a look at
- 1:33this. This is actually some a video I
- 1:35want to watch first about Mom Domi.
- 1:37I do think that his democratic socialism that he presents is so
- 1:42appealing to younger groups, especially women, because he's
- 1:45basically saying that we're going to solve all the economic
- 1:47issues and no one's going to be hungry.
- 1:49No one's going to be without childcare.
- 1:50Everyone's going to be happy. Let's take a listen to how he
- 1:53was communicating. This is from a clip just a few
- 1:55weeks ago in it during his campaign.
- 1:57To afford the more than 12% increase in rent stabilized
- 2:00apartments under this Mayor Adams administration and
- 2:04struggle to afford what has now grown more than $20,000 a year
- 2:08in childcare costs. And So what we are releasing
- 2:11today is the cost saved calculator where you can go to
- 2:16zahranfornyc.com/calculator and see just how much each of these
- 2:22big three items will save you in your lives.
- 2:26Because when it comes to free buses, each rider will save over
- 2:31$2000 a year. That's $1.3 billion a year for
- 2:35all riders. When it comes to universal
- 2:37childcare, we're speaking about $22,200 a year, which together
- 2:42is 5 1/2 billion for every New Yorker across the city.
- 2:46And when it comes to a rent freeze, we are speaking about
- 2:50$1750 saved every single year and together that amounts to
- 2:55more than $1.7 billion in its first.
- 2:58Year so we can pause it. So I want to point out a few
- 3:00things. First of all, how this is going
- 3:01to be paid for of course is not typically part of the
- 3:03conversation with mom Domi and he doesn't really have the power
- 3:06to raise state taxes. He's just a mayor.
- 3:09He's not the governor. He doesn't hold any other
- 3:11elected office for the entire state of New York.
- 3:13It's just New York City. So there's of course the
- 3:15question of what's that going to look like financially for the
- 3:17city. But look at momdami.
- 3:19Look he's he's a charismatic guy.
- 3:21He's very cheerful. He talks with a lot of inspiring
- 3:25language. He has this very positive
- 3:27sounding message and he's hitting pain points.
- 3:29He's hitting free daycare. He's hitting free buses he's
- 3:33hitting rent control for sort of the working class you could say
- 3:36of New York. Now it's interesting.
- 3:37I was looking at a study here that said that people that are
- 3:39New York natives only 50% or it was I think 40% only voted for
- 3:44momdami. But when they came in the last
- 3:47five years the last just year or two to New York City.
- 3:49Those groups of people voted in much greater numbers for mom
- 3:53Domi versus Cuomo. So that was an interesting note
- 3:55that people that are new to New York and maybe aren't as wise to
- 3:58how New York runs and what are the real costs of the government
- 4:00kept providing everything for free.
- 4:02Those people were less likely to vote for Mom Domi.
- 4:05But it's undeniable that Mom Domi had this very winsome
- 4:07message, especially with younger women.
- 4:10And we're going to unpack that today because I think it's
- 4:12really important. And I think that, you know, we
- 4:15talk about politics on the show more than that.
- 4:16We talk about culture on the show and our personal
- 4:18responsibility, but I think that we do have a personal
- 4:21responsibility for people who care about culture and politics
- 4:26to see what's happening with younger women today and to make
- 4:30a difference in that space. And that's part of the mission
- 4:31of the show, by the way. So we're going to deep dive
- 4:33that. But before I get more into that
- 4:36and another note, as I said earlier, in Virginia, which used
- 4:40to be a red state, used to have a red governor, used to have a
- 4:43Republican governor. In Virginia, young women also
- 4:47helped vote in the Democrat governor, as well as a Democrat
- 4:51AG, Attorney General Jay Jones. And this is a guy that was
- 4:56really wracked with scandal. I mean, he actually had a series
- 4:59of text messages that were leaked where he was threatening
- 5:02political violence against his political opponents as a joke in
- 5:06text message. And even people on the left and
- 5:08the right were decrying this. And Jay Jones still won
- 5:11definitively with young women. So what is going on here?
- 5:14Why are American women, especially younger women, very
- 5:16hard left? How do we solve this?
- 5:18What are the underlying motivations and reasons for
- 5:21this? That's what we're going to be
- 5:22exploring here. Before that, though, I want to
- 5:26talk really quick about something happening on X right
- 5:28now. If you're not on XA lot, I'm
- 5:31sorry if this is like, what? What are you even talking about,
- 5:34Lila? I totally missed this entire
- 5:36kerkuffle, but I wanted to address it.
- 5:38So on X right now there is. I tweeted something.
- 5:42Let's pull up my tweet, Harris, if we can.
- 5:44So this was just yesterday, and this was regarding a New York
- 5:50Times profile that came out, I believe, yesterday regarding a
- 5:55streamer podcaster who's been around now for I think almost a
- 5:58decade, many years. But he's a younger, younger guy.
- 6:02And he has been ultimately ascending, you could say, in
- 6:07growing an audience, especially of younger men.
- 6:10So this is again part of that, the divide of the sexes, men,
- 6:13women, women bearing more left, many men bearing more what they
- 6:17call alt right. So this was my tweet.
- 6:20You can pull it up here. I said the New York Times taking
- 6:22glamour shots of a self-proclaimed admirer of Adolf
- 6:25Hitler as a possible successor to Charlie Kirk.
- 6:28Well, they religiously avoided featuring Charlie Kirk during
- 6:30his life is peak leftist propaganda.
- 6:32It adds insult to injury that Charlie intentionally shunned
- 6:35the Hitler admirer. Now, if you're listening to this
- 6:38on podcast later, you're like, what are you even talking about?
- 6:40Let's pull up the New York Times article so we know what I'm
- 6:43talking about. This was an opinion piece that
- 6:45came out now 2 days ago. I'm sorry.
- 6:47On Tuesday of this week, Nick Fuentes was Charlie Kirk's
- 6:50bitter enemy. Now he's becoming his successor.
- 6:53And you'll see if you Scroll down here, Harris.
- 6:55Oh, you're not able to see it. Let me screenshot this for you
- 6:57and send it. There is a kind of like a
- 6:59glamour shot of this person Fuentes in the New York Times
- 7:04article. Now, the reason that this really
- 7:06caught my eye is the fact that when Charlie was alive, and I
- 7:10knew because I would pay attention to this, there were
- 7:13very rarely anything close to positive pieces about Charlie
- 7:19Kirk in the New York Times. Occasionally they would
- 7:21reference his work, but they very rarely would sort of note
- 7:25him as some rising influential figure that people were
- 7:29attracted to. They wanted Charlie to look
- 7:31sidelined and not attractive to people.
- 7:33And so when they were would present him and their reporting,
- 7:36it was in always with a negative frame and never with a picture
- 7:39like this one. So you can pull this down now,
- 7:42Harris, but this is a what you could what you would call a
- 7:44glamour shot from the New York Times of a again, as they call
- 7:48him an alt right. You can put whatever title you
- 7:50want on it. But a growing and popularity
- 7:53streamer and podcaster who is saying that he's on the right.
- 7:58He says that he's Catholic is my understanding.
- 8:00He says that he's even opposed to things like abortion and
- 8:03transiting the children is my understanding.
- 8:05But he also makes these jokes. And he also says he actually
- 8:09thinks we are too negative about the legacy of people like, yes,
- 8:13Adolf Hitler. And so I think that this is an
- 8:17example, and I bring this up of, yes, media spin at which is
- 8:21something I'm always interested in because I've been the victim
- 8:23of media spin. Most people on the right have
- 8:26been the victim of media spin. But this is a particularly
- 8:28perverse version because they're basically propping up somebody
- 8:32who does make light of the Holocaust, who does do that,
- 8:36because they're trying to stick it to the Jewish people.
- 8:39I mean, it's a whole part of his whole stick.
- 8:41And they're trying to prop that up as the new face of the right,
- 8:45essentially, when the reality is even Charlie Kirk, especially
- 8:50Charlie Kirk was so passionately against this worldview and so
- 8:54much against even this individual and his
- 8:56representation of worldview that he would didn't even want this
- 8:59person at his events. He wouldn't give him a platform.
- 9:02He said you're not welcome here because being anti-Semitic,
- 9:05being racist, being misogynistic is wrong.
- 9:08It violates principles that are on the right.
- 9:11The deeper question, of course, is what are the principles that
- 9:14should govern the right? I mean, what are the principles
- 9:17that should govern Republican Party?
- 9:19As you all know, I got in a lot of heat last year for opposing
- 9:22President Trump's at the time, some of the pro abortion lean
- 9:27that he was going during his campaign, like coming out
- 9:29against Amendment 4 in Florida, which would basically allow for
- 9:33abortions up until birth. And he said he wasn't sure he
- 9:36would come out against it. Excuse me?
- 9:37And then later on he did, but that was only after he got
- 9:39criticized for it. So if we don't have principles
- 9:43on the right, if we give one inch of ground to things like
- 9:47the killing of babies, to things like racism, whether that's
- 9:51racism directed at the Jewish people or racism directed at any
- 9:56group, and I would say that includes of course, people in
- 9:59Gaza, Any form of racism is evil and wrong or it's misogyny or
- 10:04it's misandry. It's the hate, hatred towards
- 10:07men or the hatred towards women. None of that can survive should
- 10:12be able to survive on the right or what is the right anymore.
- 10:14If the right becomes that I don't want anything to do with
- 10:16it, right. And most I think people who are
- 10:19non X everyday and you know, steeped in the step would be
- 10:21like, yeah, I don't want to be part of that.
- 10:23So it's so important that we do have principles.
- 10:27If you are conservative, that we have foundational principles
- 10:29that we don't compromise on them.
- 10:31Principles matter. And I think that is the way to
- 10:34to win back the youth vote is by having principles.
- 10:37Keep in mind Zoron mom Dami said he had principles.
- 10:40That's what he said. Now when it comes to life, he
- 10:42was raging pro abort. Although he always said it with
- 10:45nice language. So didn't sound bad.
- 10:46That was part that's part of the sleight of hand, right?
- 10:48Oh, I support woman's reproductive rights.
- 10:50Well, he supports abortion until birth.
- 10:52Oh, I support, you know, the rights of LGBTQ plus people to
- 10:55exist and be, you know, love is love.
- 10:57Well, he actually supports dismantling the traditional
- 11:00family, which is what he has, which he ultimately ran on.
- 11:03But he couched it in nice language.
- 11:05Right. So there's two things that the
- 11:07conservative movement has to do. We have to have stand on
- 11:09principle. And then we have to do it with
- 11:11joy and do it with winsomeness and persuasiveness.
- 11:15Be, you know, make persuasion our aim while standing on
- 11:18principle. So you can't compromise
- 11:20principle for the sake of persuasion, and you also can't
- 11:23be persuasive and you know, say I'm all of these things, but
- 11:27then ultimately not care about your principles.
- 11:29You have to care about both the principles and the persuasion.
- 11:33Or I should say, you can't care about the principles and then
- 11:34not care about persuasion, and you can't be persuasive and then
- 11:36reject the principle. So it has to be both.
- 11:39So I just wanted to share that because I am seeing this
- 11:42tension. It's on the left too, by the
- 11:44way. The left is having their own
- 11:45identity crisis, but I'm seeing this tension on the right and it
- 11:49is so important to have both principles and persuasion.
- 11:53But what I really wanted to get into was this phenomenon of
- 11:56women voting left, especially younger women, and why that is.
- 12:01And I actually had an experience recently personally that I
- 12:04thought was really illuminating for me to see this in real time.
- 12:08Before we do that though, we're going to do a quick thank you to
- 12:10two of our amazing sponsors who make this show possible.
- 12:13So we'll give them a shout out now.

- 13:12abortion, abortifacients and other unethical services?
- 13:16Most people have no idea that they're footing the bill for
- 13:19procedures that go directly against their beliefs.
- 13:22Well, there are health sharing ministries.
- 13:24Some families need and want standard insurance.
- 13:27That's why I'm so excited to share about Presidio Healthcare,
- 13:31the nation's first pro-life Christian health insurance

- 14:06All right, you guys. So as everyone knows, Momdami's
- 14:09on Momdami won big in New York City yesterday for mayor.
- 14:13He is a democratic socialist, very pro abortion, very anti
- 14:17marriage. And then in Virginia we had some
- 14:20big losses as well. Two very pro abort folks, one
- 14:24for AG and the governor and for governor.
- 14:27And that's also a huge disappointment when you're
- 14:29looking at the exit polling. We see that women, especially
- 14:31younger women were big shower uppers for these candidates.
- 14:35And I actually want to pull up that data really quick.
- 14:38Harris, if you scroll back up, young women voted in Virginia
- 14:42for the Democrat candidates and pull up the ex post here from
- 14:45Election Wiz. Men favored Mayares.
- 14:47He was up for the AG by 58 percent, 18 points and women
- 14:53favored Jones by 12 points. So 12% more women, 12 women.
- 15:00Jay Jones, the Democrat AG candidate, won women by 12
- 15:04points. I think that's really
- 15:05significant and everything. All of this is significant.
- 15:09OK, so why, why is it happening? Pull up this meme for us.
- 15:13Actually, Harris, because I do think just to close up what I
- 15:16was talking about X earlier in my ex post.
- 15:17All right, this is not why I think this is happening guys and
- 15:21a whole story. But this is one element that I
- 15:23think is worth looking at. This is a meme that's going
- 15:26around women voting Republican and then you see that they get
- 15:31shot by Republicans who embrace Fuentes.
- 15:33Why would women vote against us? Cry, cry.
- 15:36That, by the way, is not what I think was motivating women going
- 15:39in and voting for Jay Jones and Mom Domi.
- 15:40They weren't thinking about that.
- 15:41They probably don't even know who ranked this is.
- 15:43But I do think it is unhelpful on the right, obviously, to bash
- 15:48women to platform and embrace misogyny.
- 15:52It's very unhelpful. So if women don't want to vote
- 15:54for that in the long run, that that's going to be why.
- 15:57I mean, that will be a big reason why, but there's a lot of
- 16:00other reasons why. So let's go into one of those
- 16:02other reasons are OK. Understanding is the first step
- 16:06to wisdom. You have in order to understand
- 16:08what's happening in the world, you have to look around and
- 16:11understand the data and look at people's experiences.
- 16:15It is a fact that there is a rise today in women who don't
- 16:19want to have children. There is a rise today in women
- 16:23who want to be Dinks. There is a rise today in women
- 16:27who don't want to get married. It's very sad and disturbing all
- 16:32of this happening. I was recently on a podcast, I
- 16:35did this debate for over 2 hours on the Ellen Fisher podcast.
- 16:39Shout out to Ellen. She's a great friend.
- 16:41And I debated this young woman, well, she I think she was in her
- 16:4530s, younger woman who is a self professed DINK, dual income, no
- 16:50kids. She was advocating for other
- 16:55women to be Dinks. She has a podcast where she
- 16:57promotes the DINK lifestyle. Here's a little clip from our
- 17:01the promo clip from our debate. And this woman has an entire
- 17:04brand about why and how you should be a DINK.
- 17:07Now she would even say in my inner, my debate with her, oh,
- 17:09I'm not telling women they have to be a DINK.
- 17:11It's all about women's choice, right?
- 17:12That was kind of a refrain. It's all about women's choice.
- 17:15But it's very clear that by her choosing that or by her
- 17:18recommending that to other women, that is part of her her
- 17:22whole persuasion that she is campaign she's undergoing, which
- 17:25is let's try to get more women to see the the upside of being a
- 17:29DINK. So what are the numbers here?
- 17:31According to a Michigan State study, the percentage of US non
- 17:35parents who say they don't want any children rose from 14% in
- 17:402002 to 29% in 2023. That's so wild.
- 17:46That is so wild. The amount of people who said
- 17:49that say non parents. So Americans who aren't parents
- 17:52yet who said they don't want any children went from 14% to 29%.
- 17:56It doubled from 2020, 2002 to 2023.
- 18:00Among that cohort adults, US adults younger than 50 who don't
- 18:06want to have children and make sure that they are unlikely ever
- 18:09to have children increased from 2018.
- 18:12So it's been speeding up in just the last five, 6-7 years from 37
- 18:17to percent in 2018 to 47% in 2023.
- 18:22So this is for both men and women, but I'm going to get to
- 18:24specifically the women in a middle minute.
- 18:26The amount of young people who want to have kids is declining
- 18:30sharply. As you may all know, the birth
- 18:33rate has basically gone off of gone off of a Cliff.
- 18:36So the amount of women now who are having children today versus
- 18:41really any other time is at its lowest.
- 18:43The birth rate I think is 1.8 is below replacement rate.
- 18:47I think it might be 1.7 now. It is below replacement rate.
- 18:51So replacement rate for a population is 2.1.
- 18:53You need 2.1 children per couple or two people to at least
- 18:57replace the population, and we are below that.
- 19:00The only reason that we are not experiencing severe economic
- 19:03collapse in the United States because of the decline in
- 19:05population is because of immigration, which is wild.
- 19:09And it's not because of, you know, any other reason.
- 19:13We are only able to replace ourselves as a population right
- 19:15now because of immigration. That's the only reason we are
- 19:18not wanting to have kids. We are not having kids.
- 19:21That is largely the state of the culture today.
- 19:23Now there's a lot of good trends of people finding faith again,
- 19:26People wanted to get married again.
- 19:28So there's positive trends that are happening amid all of this
- 19:30chaos. But the reality is we are at a
- 19:33low point in birth rate unlike we've ever seen before in our
- 19:37history. So why are people, what are the
- 19:41fears driving this? Why is this happening?
- 19:44And I'm going to just give some theories here.
- 19:46I'm not going to pretend to have all of the answers and present
- 19:48them perfectly. But I do have some theories
- 19:51about why this is happening, why we're seeing this, then show up
- 19:55in politics as these votes for these far left figures who
- 19:57promised the moon and back and who are super pro sexual
- 20:00libertinism, super pro abortion. And then why and how we can how
- 20:06we can solve for this? So I think 1 foundational issue
- 20:10is the sexual revolution. We talk about this a lot on the
- 20:13show, as you guys know, but the whole idea that your life is
- 20:16about you and sexual pleasure at your, at your fingertips
- 20:20whenever you want, As long as there's consent between adults,
- 20:23you're good. I think that is a huge
- 20:25foundational piece of why people think they wouldn't want to have
- 20:31kids, get married, etcetera. Because for them life is about
- 20:33pleasure, life is about what I want.
- 20:34It's about my autonomy, it's about my own ideas.
- 20:37It's not about any sort of ordering to relationships.
- 20:41And that's really toxic as a worldview.
- 20:43It's very damaging as a worldview.
- 20:46And it came up in my debate with the with this young woman who
- 20:49was the, the DINK side of the debate, because she would say in
- 20:52the conversation that she wanted her lifestyle, that she wanted
- 20:56the lifestyle that she had. She wanted to be able to, she
- 20:59didn't want to be up at night with a baby.
- 21:01She wanted to be able to go on vacations.
- 21:03She wanted to be able to have more money, have a better
- 21:06lifestyle. And kids would be a drain on
- 21:08that. And so in her mind, OK, well,
- 21:10then I'm not going to have kids. That was kind of the entire, not
- 21:13the entire, but that was part of the calculation for her.
- 21:16So sexual revolution is really what broke the American mind 50
- 21:22years ago on this question of what is my life's purpose
- 21:26instead of my life's purpose is about love and about
- 21:29relationship and maybe getting married one day and having
- 21:31children. My life's purpose is now about
- 21:33like what I want sexually. And I get to be free.
- 21:36And sex is no longer tied to procreation or intimacy and
- 21:38lifelong love. And so now it's a free for all.
- 21:41And we're seeing the fruit of that.
- 21:43We're seeing the free for all happening right now.
- 21:46And so there's that piece of it, but then there's another piece
- 21:48of it, too. And that, I would say, is the
- 21:51economic peace. And I think this is where
- 21:53conservatives would do well to emphasize what the right can
- 21:59offer the American family and individual to make it easier for
- 22:03them to live and to have a family and to have children.
- 22:06Because I think there's a lot of fear today around motherhood
- 22:10because of a concern for it being able to be affordable for
- 22:16them to be able to be in healthy relationships that can last, to
- 22:20be able to raise those children and be able to handle the
- 22:23pressures of being a mom or dad. And I speak for dads too,
- 22:27because I think they have their own set of concerns.
- 22:29But statistically, women have them more.
- 22:32And women, of course, are the ones that carry a life and
- 22:34usually do most of the caretaking for the younger
- 22:36children. That's biologically how we're
- 22:38wired. That's a beautiful thing.
- 22:40But it's also becomes it's being seen as a burden now.
- 22:44And so underlying, I think the reason Momdami won free daycare,
- 22:49free buses, rent control, free everything.
- 22:52And underlying this trend towards not wanting to have
- 22:54kids, towards being Dinks, towards rejecting marriage and
- 22:58motherhood is the fear. The fear that I can't handle it,
- 23:04that I don't have what it takes. And so either someone else has
- 23:07to come in and be my knight in shining armor like Momdami,
- 23:11effectively. And even then I have autonomy.
- 23:13So I can choose not to have a baby.
- 23:14It's up to me. I whatever, I, you know, my
- 23:17women's rights, women's rights, right?
- 23:18And I can, I'm, I will be just as happy being completely
- 23:22unburdened by family and marriage and children.
- 23:25But that is ultimately I think a huge reason why women are
- 23:31choosing to vote left and to also reject motherhood is fear,
- 23:37economic fear. They've been, we've been trained
- 23:39to be selfish by the sexual revolution and by being mis
- 23:42educated by our academics. The family formation today is
- 23:47bad, broken families, all of that.
- 23:49So we've been trained to view ourselves as really it's life is
- 23:53about us and what I want and we're not going to find meaning
- 23:55in relationships. It's really my own self
- 23:58determination. And then there is the economic
- 24:01fears and there's the economic crisis.
- 24:05Now, I do think, yeah, I, I sometimes when I think about the
- 24:09fact and and there's some great social data about this, you
- 24:12know, world hunger is at an all time low globally.
- 24:15The amount of you know what, what it means to be poor today
- 24:18in America is actually other nations wealth, right?
- 24:21So even the poor in America compared to a lot of other
- 24:24nations are wealthier than many nations throughout the world.
- 24:28So I think another factor here connected to economics and sort
- 24:32of our idea of wealth and our idea of do we have enough?
- 24:35Do we have what it takes to have a family etcetera is also
- 24:38expectations around lifestyle and think about that for a
- 24:43minute. Social media, marketing, media
- 24:46in general has given all of these expectations to both women
- 24:51and men about what it means to even have be successful or be
- 24:54able to have a family or be able to be a mother or father.
- 24:57We see constantly consumerism and materialism presented as the
- 25:01end game, as a success story. And so you connect economic
- 25:06challenges, difficulty to even buy a home in today's economy
- 25:10for most people, student loan debt, inflation.
- 25:15You connect that the dual, the dual income trap, as Elizabeth
- 25:19Warren called it over 20 years ago, where now you need to have
- 25:23two incomes to be able to support a household.
- 25:26Often in this country. That's at least the experience
- 25:28of many people and you connect all of that to also people
- 25:33having this vision of, well, if I'm going to have kids and a
- 25:35family, I need a 5 bedroom house or whatever it is.
- 25:38I need to have the latest, you know, whatever thing is being
- 25:41marketed to me on Instagram. I need to have all of that.
- 25:44It feels like an impossible situation for a lot of people.
- 25:47Feels impossible, especially when they have the student loan
- 25:50debt piece of it for those that have that.
- 25:52And so people are legitimately wrestling with what is what am I
- 25:56going to do? How can I do this and do I even
- 25:58why would I even want to do this to begin with?
- 26:00What why, why what is in it for me, I think is a lot of people
- 26:03are saying So what can we do about this?
- 26:08What what's the solution? I do have some solutions.
- 26:12There is hope. I think I have some solutions.
- 26:15So I do think that the conservative movement can
- 26:18absolutely crush this. I think we can.
- 26:21I think if we present a positive, joyful view of
- 26:26supporting the American family, supporting the job of mothers
- 26:30and fathers in this economy, and communicate effectively how a
- 26:35smaller government give back the taxes, don't tax more, how a
- 26:40more empowered family, American family and small community can
- 26:45actually have thriving families. Presenting that vision I think
- 26:49is part of the winning strategy. And what that looks like is
- 26:53talking about how we can make costs lower for American
- 26:56families. I think birth should be free.
- 26:59I think that we should be giving more tax credits and cash
- 27:02credits to families that have children.
- 27:04It should be actually honored in our government.
- 27:08If you're going to have a children, you should not just be
- 27:101 little tax write off or deduction on your taxes, but you
- 27:13should actually be given a cash credit for for children having
- 27:16multiple children. Instead of making daycare free,
- 27:20why don't we give money back to mothers so that they can raise
- 27:24their own children in their homes instead of having to go
- 27:26pay a job to then go drop the child off at daycare?
- 27:30Why not instead of just giving the mother money directly so
- 27:33that she doesn't even have to enter into that part of the
- 27:36workforce and that can support the American family?
- 27:38There's a lot of creative things that conservatives can do in our
- 27:42governmental policies to make America a healthier and happier
- 27:47place to raise a family. I do think Maha is part of that.
- 27:51Make America healthy again, better policies there.
- 27:54Food and Drug Administration, I think, is already doing some
- 27:56work in that space. But by the way, we should
- 27:57absolutely have already banned the abortion drug.
- 28:00If you want to make American families healthier, selling
- 28:02abortion drugs that kill babies is obviously not a way to do
- 28:05that. That's AI digress.
- 28:06That's another point, but I think conservatives should be
- 28:09emphasizing pro family policy. Momdami basically won because of
- 28:14his representation of what is effectively, I think of many
- 28:17people experienced it as pro family policy.
- 28:20I mean, that might sound crazy to people, but I think that's a
- 28:22big reason why he won. Everything was going to be
- 28:24better for you individually and for your families because of me.
- 28:27Momdami and women, especially younger women, bought that hook,
- 28:30line and sinker. They just ate that up.
- 28:32They're like, this sounds great. And yes, there's some bad
- 28:35motivations in there. I think selfishness is a problem
- 28:37today and sexual libertinism is a problem today.
- 28:40But there's also that universal human desire to be able to
- 28:44flourish. That's how we're designed.
- 28:46And to be able to make a way in this world and be able to be
- 28:48able to have a house over our heads and food on the table, and
- 28:53if we have children, to have it for them.
- 28:55Conservatives can win that game because it is better economic
- 28:58policy to have a freer market than a less free market.
- 29:02Just speaking very generally here of course.
- 29:05And it is a generally better policy to tax less and empower
- 29:09people more to be able to build their own families, businesses,
- 29:13everything else. That's what we should be
- 29:15celebrating and championing as conservatives.
- 29:18I think another thing we can do is encourage businesses to be
- 29:22more pro family and flexible work hours, including for moms
- 29:28and dads. By the way, dads have
- 29:30responsibilities in the home too.
- 29:31It's not like they just work and they don't have anything to do
- 29:33with child rearing you a dad is essential and irreplaceable in
- 29:37the home. So I think more friendly
- 29:39policies for families, especially for young mothers,
- 29:41but for moms and dads by employers is important to the
- 29:46end game of a for profit. Yes, is for profit, but it in
- 29:51order to make a profit in the, the purpose of that profit is
- 29:55people. So actually the end to end game
- 29:57of a for profit business is people.
- 30:00It's serving people. And profit is a mechanism of
- 30:03serving the people who work there and own the business as
- 30:06well as serving the people. You're you're giving them a
- 30:09service or a good in in return for money.
- 30:12So your job is then to serve people, people over profit.
- 30:15In that sense, profit still matters.
- 30:16We're not against profit. Of course, profit still matters,
- 30:19but people matter the most and the profit is there to serve the
- 30:22people. So with this mindset and I I
- 30:24think you make for a better, healthier, happier workforce
- 30:26when you're more pro family in the workforce, when you have
- 30:30better maternity and paternity leaves, when you have more
- 30:32flexible work hours, when you're there is work from home.
- 30:35Think those things are all good. By the way, Hungary is a very
- 30:40pro family country. They have a lot of pretty
- 30:43intense pro family policies that have been successful in helping
- 30:47people say yes to more children and get married.
- 30:51They actually give cash credits for children.
- 30:54I think after your third or your 4th, after your fourth child,
- 30:57you don't have to pay the in income tax anymore in Hungary.
- 31:00You're completely tax free, income tax free in Hungary.
- 31:03I don't know if I read this wrong.
- 31:05I think they might give a free minivan.
- 31:06Can you look that up? Paris, do they give free
- 31:08minivans to families? That would be an interesting
- 31:10policy. If you have your fifth child,
- 31:12you get a free by the 5th child. Actually, the minivan is kind of
- 31:16shrinking. You need the Sprinter van and
- 31:19those are pricey. But that would be an interesting
- 31:20family policy if you have if you're married to encourage
- 31:24marriage. If you're married and you have
- 31:25your fifth child, you get a 50% off on a Sprinter van.
- 31:31Hungry. It's not free, but there's a
- 31:32policy idea makes make subsidized instead of
- 31:36subsidizing instead of subsidizing.
- 31:39I don't know, Big Pharma, we could subsidized 50% off
- 31:43sprinter vans for big families. There's an idea.
- 31:46But all of these things I think can be done by both public
- 31:51policy, by employers to foster motherhood, fatherhood, family
- 31:57to celebrate, to uphold those things.
- 32:00That's the only way out of this mess in my view.
- 32:02Another thing that I need to share is some some facts.
- 32:06The reality is moms are happier according to social data.
- 32:10So this is a really interesting study.
- 32:12This is the Institute for family Studies.
- 32:14Married mothers are nearly twice as likely to report being very
- 32:18happy compared to single childless women.
- 32:21So here's this data. Married mothers are nearly twice
- 32:24as likely to be very happy compared to single childless
- 32:26women. Women should know this data.
- 32:29This was from March 2025. Survey of 3000 US age women 25
- 32:33to 55. Why would this be the case?
- 32:37Well, as a married mother myself, and I'm incredibly
- 32:39privileged and blessed to be a married mother, There is nothing
- 32:42more anchoring for your life than having a husband and
- 32:45children that you're there to love and serve.
- 32:47It is an incredible blessing and gift.
- 32:49It is part of God's design. It's not the path for every
- 32:52woman, of course, but it is the past for path for most women.
- 32:56And these women, according to survey data, are reporting being
- 33:00very happy, twice as much as the women who are not married or
- 33:05with and without children. So I think women deserve to know
- 33:08this because today in the media climate, motherhood is just
- 33:11presented as this dregs, as the drag.
- 33:14It's presented as this burden. Babies are presented as
- 33:18ultimately complete, dependent, depleting just a bag on your
- 33:25back, somebody that you would not, you would not want to have
- 33:27a baby. I mean, that's of course one of
- 33:29the reasons we have the abortion rate, that we have 3000
- 33:31abortions a day. Babies are presented as this
- 33:34incredible net negative. That is how they're presented.
- 33:39And the reality is children are a blessing.
- 33:42They are never a burden. They are a blessing, but we
- 33:45should support families who have that responsibility of raising
- 33:49children. That is that should be the that
- 33:51by the way, what's the point of our government?
- 33:53What's the point of our businesses?
- 33:55What's the point of any of it if not to support families?
- 33:58Families are the future families.
- 34:00Where is that? Everything should be supporting
- 34:02the family. So I do think spreading the
- 34:05social data that moms are happier and now this few people
- 34:08could say, well, that's correlation, Lila.
- 34:09That's not causation. Maybe those women were naturally
- 34:12happier and they just happened to get married, whatever.
- 34:15But the reality is, I think our design as human beings, our
- 34:18design as women is that we are designed to be in relationship
- 34:22with other people. And the most natural design for
- 34:26a woman biologically, spiritually, is ultimately to
- 34:30mother. We are designed to mother.
- 34:33And whether we are not able to mother or we don't choose
- 34:35motherhood biologically because God has a different call in this
- 34:38life for us, some women will not get married.
- 34:40They might choose a celibate vocation on a, I'm talking
- 34:43spiritually now, they are so-called to motherhood.
- 34:46They're so-called to nurture and love and mother.
- 34:49But the majority of women are called, I believe, to get
- 34:52married and to be open to life and, and have children.
- 34:55And that's a beautiful thing. Celebrate that.
- 34:59Make that talk about that more. Not to say it's oh, perfect and
- 35:03there's no problems and there's no challenges.
- 35:04Of course it's responsibility, it's duty.
- 35:08There is a huge opportunity to give of yourself when you get
- 35:13married and have kids. It's not some easy walk in the
- 35:16park. You grow as a human being, but
- 35:18you experience more joy, more purpose, more meaning than I
- 35:22think you would get to experience otherwise.
- 35:24If you shirk that call and you reject that call, it's a gift.
- 35:28I remember before I got married, I had a roommate that I was
- 35:32living with in the near Palo Alto in Silicon Valley in the
- 35:37Bay Area. Amazing woman.
- 35:40And she lets me share this story publicly because it's pretty
- 35:42personal to her, but she's an amazing person, beautiful
- 35:45Christian woman. Well, she wasn't always
- 35:48following faith. And in her 20s and 30s, she was
- 35:51really hard charging careerist. So she really was focused on her
- 35:54career. She was working in New York
- 35:56City, actually. This was now decades ago before
- 35:59Mom Domi has taken power, but she was a real successful, I
- 36:03think, investment banker. And she said that she
- 36:06prioritized her career more than dating, certainly more than
- 36:09maybe getting married. Career was her focus.
- 36:12And she was very good at her job.
- 36:14And then when she hit like late 30s, early 40s, her biological
- 36:18clock caught up with her. And she was like, oh, my gosh,
- 36:20wait a minute, I might not be able to have kids.
- 36:21I want to have kids. What do I do?
- 36:22And she was like scrambling. By this time around, this time,
- 36:26she started to have find her faith again.
- 36:29Anyway, she couldn't find a man, a husband.
- 36:31She just, it was difficult. It's very difficult for men to
- 36:33find women and women to find men today, by the way, it's very
- 36:35tough. She was not able to find man.
- 36:38She was not able to become a mother.
- 36:40She hit 50 when I was living with her.
- 36:42I think she was in her early 50s, past menopausal.
- 36:45That window had passed and it was very painful for her.
- 36:49And she shared that with me. And she's like you tell other
- 36:51women, tell other women to be open to love.
- 36:54Now, being open to love doesn't mean that God guarantees you a
- 36:57husband. It doesn't mean that for sure
- 36:58you're going to get married. And even if you get married,
- 37:00there's not a guarantee you're going to have children.
- 37:02Children are not like, you know, you press the button and the
- 37:04baby pops out. Children are always a gift.
- 37:07And they're not promised us, OK. But being open to love, I think
- 37:12is what we are all called to and maybe we'll find in our
- 37:18spiritual journeys, being open to love means that God says no,
- 37:20marriage is not for you. But again, for most of us, it
- 37:23will be that marriage is for you and to be open to getting
- 37:26married. And I think if we had this
- 37:28posture and women were encouraged to have this posture,
- 37:33Mom Domi wouldn't have won in New York City to talk about, you
- 37:37know, way down the line, political consequence.
- 37:39We would not see the rise in DINKS and the rejection of
- 37:42motherhood. I think there would be a
- 37:44different vision and a different life that most women would have
- 37:49and live because they would be in touch with how they were
- 37:52wired and what God's design was. And so my final thought here is
- 37:57the spiritual reality of all of this.
- 38:00And I think the spiritual reality of all of this is that
- 38:04we are not created randomly. We are created with purpose and
- 38:07we are created with design. And God created the male and
- 38:10female and then he said, be fruitful and go multiply.
- 38:14And again, that's the call for most of us.
- 38:16And we're going to find the greatest joy and meaning by
- 38:18being faithful to that call. And then the ultimate call of a
- 38:21Christian is to spread the gospel, which is that Jesus
- 38:24Christ came to give us life in full and save us from our sins
- 38:28and to be proud and joyful and spreading that reality.
- 38:33But the the daily, you know, life that we are called to for
- 38:36many of us is going to be marriage and kids.
- 38:39And so if we can on the right celebrate that more, present
- 38:43public policy to support that better, I think we're going to
- 38:46see a lot more win, certainly politically, but most
- 38:50importantly, we're going to see the cultural shift that needs to
- 38:52happen. All right, before we wrap up, I
- 38:54got to show you this. This was something really cute
- 38:56that I saw on Instagram on the DINK topic.
- 38:59It was a little bit of a hopeful note here, guys.
- 39:01So the dual income no kids trend online, as I said, is the thing
- 39:05people are celebrating. No more kids, no more kids.
- 39:08We're just going to be so happy and have our lifestyle.
- 39:11Well, there's also a trend against that trend.
- 39:14Let's take a look at this. This is a couple pretty
- 39:17hilarious Instagram influencers that I like following.
- 39:21This is one of their clips where they're turning in their DINK
- 39:23card. Welcome to Dual Income No Kids
- 39:25headquarters. How can I?
- 39:27Oh, you 2 again. Remember what we discussed last
- 39:30time? Just a quick review.
- 39:33No more access to the following Peace and quiet, Disposable
- 39:35income, 8 hours of sleep. Privacy.
- 39:45Understood. Congratulations you 2.
- 39:51Congratulations, Alexandra, John are their names.
- 39:53They just had a baby. Their first baby actually had
- 39:56passed away after a stillbirth. It was very devastating.
- 39:58And then they had another and their whole part of their whole
- 40:01content now is celebrating motherhood and fatherhood, which
- 40:03I love. And there's more of that, guys.
- 40:05So there is a trend against this trend of Dinks and everything
- 40:08else. There's a lot of reason to be
