- 2:02Speaker 1: share will a good man it everybody y'all listening to
- 2:06Speaker 1: the voice, come on, dig me now one it only
- 2:09Speaker 1: Steve Harley got a radio show. I have something and
- 2:13Speaker 1: it so describes how I was living. It's so captures
- 2:19Speaker 1: the feelings that I had about beginning on the pathway
- 2:24Speaker 1: of my dreams. It so describes how I felt when
- 2:30Speaker 1: I was about to attempt something. And I have some
- 2:33Speaker 1: striking news for you. It describes often how I feel
- 2:38Speaker 1: still today to a degree. So let me tell you
- 2:41Speaker 1: what that is. Here's an analogy that I've heard a
- 2:46Speaker 1: couple of different ways, but I've kind of, you know,
- 2:49Speaker 1: fixed it around to where I can drink it better,
- 2:52Speaker 1: and I think it fits my personality to describe it
- 2:56Speaker 1: to people best this way. I've talked often about the
- 3:00Speaker 1: urgency of doing something with your life, of getting started today,
- 3:06Speaker 1: of stopping the procrastination and putting it off, and waiting
- 3:10Speaker 1: on all your ducks to line up in a row,
- 3:12Speaker 1: and waiting till the stars aligned themselves. If you ain't
- 3:16Speaker 1: on such a thing, you're never gonna get started. I
- 3:20Speaker 1: don't know too many people who can say that all
- 3:22Speaker 1: the ducks just lined up in a row. Things happen
- 3:26Speaker 1: even when you get them lined up. One of the
- 3:28Speaker 1: ducks get out of line, or somebody knock over the domino,
- 3:31Speaker 1: or something happens. But here's the point I'm getting at.
- 3:35Speaker 1: God has so many blessings available to you. You who's listening.
- 3:46Speaker 1: God has so many blessings available to you from where
- 3:50Speaker 1: you are right now. I don't care what you've gotten
- 3:54Speaker 1: yourself into or what you've done. God has so many
- 3:59Speaker 1: blessings that he can send your way. But you have
- 4:04Speaker 1: to do something. See a lot of people just sit
- 4:08Speaker 1: around and go man, and something always happening to you.
- 4:12Speaker 1: You're always getting a break, You're always doing this. You
- 4:14Speaker 1: always doing man, don't nothing come my way? Listen to me.
- 4:18Speaker 1: If nothing ever comes your way. You know why that is.
- 4:21Speaker 1: It's because you're not doing anything. I promise you you're not.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Here's a deal. God has all these blessings he wants
- 4:28Speaker 1: to send you, but you got to give him something
- 4:31Speaker 1: to work with. Now, come on, God will bless you.
- 4:35Speaker 1: God can touch people's hearts on your behalf. He can
- 4:39Speaker 1: move situations around for you. He can align the stars.
- 4:43Speaker 1: He can set the ducks up in the road. But
- 4:45Speaker 1: align the stars and move people around, and touch people's
- 4:48Speaker 1: hearts and set the ducks up in the road. For
- 4:50Speaker 1: what have you put forth any effort? Have you made
- 4:54Speaker 1: a single step in any direction to do the right
- 4:58Speaker 1: thing or go the right way? That gives him something
- 5:01Speaker 1: to put his finger on. Come on, man, God can
- 5:05Speaker 1: only bless you according to your faith. If you have
- 5:10Speaker 1: a little bit of faith, give him that. Let him
- 5:12Speaker 1: work with that. You know, man, I didn't always start
- 5:14Speaker 1: with these speeches you're hear in the morning now. I
- 5:16Speaker 1: ain't always had these. I grew to these. I stumbled
- 5:20Speaker 1: my way to these. I messed up my way to these. Hell,
- 5:25Speaker 1: I got it wrong so many times to be able
- 5:28Speaker 1: to sound like I got some sense, I said it often.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Failure is a wonderful teacher. Do you know how many
- 5:34Speaker 1: times I have had to have failed to have what
- 5:37Speaker 1: I have in my head today. I'm telling you, man,
- 5:41Speaker 1: it's a process. People getting mad at the process. You
- 5:44Speaker 1: got to do something to give God something to work with.
- 5:48Speaker 1: He'll bless you. But what you want me to bless
- 5:50Speaker 1: If you ain't putting forth any effort, you can get
- 5:53Speaker 1: blessed from whoever you are in your life. Wherever your
- 5:56Speaker 1: starting point is, wherever you find yourself wound up, you
- 6:00Speaker 1: can get it back from. Now. I've done it, man,
- 6:03Speaker 1: by the grace of God, I've done it. I got over. Man.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I learned some things along the way. Because here's a deal.
- 6:10Speaker 1: As long as God keeps waking you up in the morning,
- 6:12Speaker 1: he ain't through with you yet. When he's done, you're done.
- 6:15Speaker 1: But if God still has a plan for you you
- 6:18Speaker 1: wake up in the morning, He's still got some more
- 6:20Speaker 1: work for you to do. You wake up in the morning.
- 6:22Speaker 1: So if you keep waking up, man, it's something that
- 6:25Speaker 1: God wants from you, would love to have from you,
- 6:28Speaker 1: and he can work with you, man, if you just
- 6:31Speaker 1: walk towards him a little bit. Here's a deal. I
- 6:34Speaker 1: know it's hard for the average person to start because
- 6:38Speaker 1: the fear of the unknown is incredible. Well what if
- 6:41Speaker 1: I fail? What if I don't get picked? You know,
- 6:44Speaker 1: one of the hardest things I ever did was walking
- 6:46Speaker 1: in to quit my job. Oh man, let me tell
- 6:49Speaker 1: you about that day when I decided that I was
- 6:52Speaker 1: going to be a full time comedian after winning an
- 6:55Speaker 1: amateur night one time, quitting your job, following your dream,
- 7:01Speaker 1: going forward despite all the nay says, it's like stepping
- 7:05Speaker 1: off a cliff. It's like actually just walking off the
- 7:10Speaker 1: edge of a cliff, hoping, hoping. Now not really knowing,
- 7:15Speaker 1: but hoping. Hoping is the bad basis of faith. I
- 7:22Speaker 1: stepped off the cliff hoping that my parachute would open
- 7:28Speaker 1: and allow me to drift down. See. I've never skydived before,
- 7:34Speaker 1: but I would imagine part of the thrill. And I
- 7:36Speaker 1: don't know this because I'm not going to skydive to
- 7:39Speaker 1: find out. I think part of the thrill for people
- 7:42Speaker 1: is the danger part of throwing yourself out a plane
- 7:46Speaker 1: and how it feels to be free falling, but the
- 7:50Speaker 1: whole time they're free falling, having this exhilarating over the
- 7:54Speaker 1: top moment, you have got to believe in your heart
- 7:58Speaker 1: of hearts, I've got the hope with everything in you
- 8:01Speaker 1: that when you pull this cord the shoot opens or else.
- 8:05Speaker 1: This ain't a good move at all. But you've packed
- 8:08Speaker 1: your shoot yourself. You've taken the lessons, so you go
- 8:12Speaker 1: ahead and you make the leap. Now, the only thing
- 8:14Speaker 1: about quitting your job and following your dream is you
- 8:17Speaker 1: ain't really been trained all that good for this. You
- 8:20Speaker 1: didn't packed your shoot, but you ain't never opened it before.
- 8:24Speaker 1: So I walked off this cliff, That's what it was like.
- 8:26Speaker 1: And you following your dream is like you walking off
- 8:28Speaker 1: a cliff. Here's the part where people don't never make
- 8:32Speaker 1: the jump. They see somebody like myself who jumped off
- 8:36Speaker 1: the cliff and the pass shot don't open right away,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and I hit a couple of rocks on the way down.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I got my back cut up pretty bad. They see
- 8:45Speaker 1: that three years living in a car man, he got
- 8:48Speaker 1: his life toe down jumping off that cliff. I ain't
- 8:51Speaker 1: jumping off that cliff. But see, what you don't understand
- 8:54Speaker 1: is you don't know it. But eventually the shoot will open,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and I'm at the parachute opening part of my life, man,
- 9:03Speaker 1: where a shoot then open and I'm drifting and I'm
- 9:06Speaker 1: able to guide my shoote over to Paris and glide.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I've I've glided over to Africa and seen what it
- 9:12Speaker 1: looked like. It's a slow ride down. When the passchute
- 9:16Speaker 1: finally opened, and my back then heel too, and the
- 9:19Speaker 1: cuts that I had on me, I remember now I
- 9:22Speaker 1: know how to stay away from the edge. But the
- 9:24Speaker 1: parish chute then opened, and I'm enjoying my life for
- 9:28Speaker 1: the first time. I'm gliding, but I got hit up
- 9:31Speaker 1: against the rock. I can see more. I get a
- 9:33Speaker 1: chance to see more things. I get to glide and
- 9:36Speaker 1: see more parts of the world. I'm living my dream.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Your passhute is going open, but I'll tell you one
- 9:42Speaker 1: thing for shore, It'll never open if you don't step
- 9:45Speaker 1: off that cliff. You got to step off that cliff,
- 9:48Speaker 1: got to get the passchute open for you. But you
- 9:50Speaker 1: got the jump, baby. That's the hard part, ain't it now?
- 9:53Speaker 1: Question is the end of this story right here today
- 9:56Speaker 1: when you're jumping you're listening show, ladies and gentlemen, it
- 10:03Speaker 1: is about to begin. To Steve Harvey Morning Show. I
- 10:08Speaker 1: have selected a song for you this morning that that
- 10:12Speaker 1: I have just decided to just oh blurted out. I
- 10:20Speaker 1: don't love you anymore. It's just a simple gonna explain
- 10:32Speaker 1: it to the young people listening. Oh man, they don't
- 10:35Speaker 1: get it. You know, just old songs. Man. Were you
- 10:37Speaker 1: just blurt out to begin it and everybody know what
- 10:42Speaker 1: it is? M yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm gone gown. Yeah yeah,
- 11:00Speaker 1: my daughter loves fine you on same child, fine you?
- 11:12Speaker 1: Who wo so search hold fie you. You don't make
- 11:22Speaker 1: him like this anymore. The way you walk and talk,
- 11:27Speaker 1: it really search me up to a fire alarm, child? Yes,
- 11:31Speaker 1: sit do The way you squeeze and tea, knock me
- 11:37Speaker 1: to my knee, come out smoking, baby. The way you
- 11:44Speaker 1: swear and curve it relyracts my nerve And I'm so excited? Child?
- 11:51Speaker 1: Who lets me know? Ha ha Yeah, let us have it?
- 12:12Speaker 1: Old ass, hard ass singing. That's that lounge singer that
- 12:16Speaker 1: never made it because he wasn't quite on the notes.
- 12:19Speaker 1: But you couldn't tell him that. Yeah, but he had
- 12:24Speaker 1: all the Hollywood singer moves. Man, I would have had
- 12:27Speaker 1: Roscoe Wallace looking the pigs man, Colin Correll, your favorite rock,
- 12:32Speaker 1: Roscoe Waller. Yeah, what's up hard singing? Hay Steve, what's up?
- 12:37Speaker 1: Ain't nothing with it? Junior morning, I'll just be seeing
- 12:40Speaker 1: you in concert doing that whole thing though. That's what
- 12:42Speaker 1: I'm wanting. I was bad. I saw Teddy laugh, I
- 12:47Speaker 1: saw how Player Live. Y'all missed concerts. That was real concerts.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And the dudes actually sound just like the record, like
- 13:00Speaker 1: Luther What no day of remixes, remixer, No, you'll remix hits.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Scarned time, just random scarned time. I like when he
- 13:16Speaker 1: just blurts him out of nowhere. We were all bad,
- 13:18Speaker 1: bad missas yeah and them scanned t hang on Sugarfoot
- 13:25Speaker 1: coming up at thirty two minutes, I just gonna say
- 13:28Speaker 1: good morning, since nobody say good morning. Scarned time coming
- 13:37Speaker 1: up in thirty two minutes after the hour, asked the CLO,
- 13:40Speaker 1: the chief love officer in the building. Right after this,
- 13:43Speaker 1: you're listening morning show all right? Steam time now for
- 13:48Speaker 1: asked the CLO, the chief Love Officer. This one Steve
- 13:52Speaker 1: is from Lena in Texas. She says, I met a
- 13:55Speaker 1: guy online at last October and we've had and often
- 13:59Speaker 1: on things since then. Everything will be going fine for
- 14:03Speaker 1: a while, and then he disappears for a few days.
- 14:06Speaker 1: If I complain, he turns into an angel for a
- 14:09Speaker 1: few days. He works hard all day long, so I
- 14:12Speaker 1: try not to stress him out. But I'm tired of
- 14:15Speaker 1: the inconsistency. You said in your book, act like a lady,
- 14:18Speaker 1: think like a man, that men make time for what
- 14:22Speaker 1: they really want? Is this true in my situation? It's
- 14:25Speaker 1: true in all situations. There are no exceptions to the rule.
- 14:30Speaker 1: We are men, We make time for what we want.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Let me ask you something, ma'am. Let's just reverse this situation.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Let's just say you went ghosts every two weeks for
- 14:42Speaker 1: a few days. How do you think he would feel?
- 14:46Speaker 1: He wouldn't ask you about it? Where you be all
- 14:49Speaker 1: this time? What you'd be getting into? What you're doing?
- 14:52Speaker 1: But see, we mean we don't think right away that
- 14:54Speaker 1: you got somebody else, but you all do because it's
- 14:58Speaker 1: happened probably before. So now what does your intuition tell you?
- 15:04Speaker 1: And that's how you should act on it. Something's wrong,
- 15:07Speaker 1: something's something's amiss. I'm not saying what exactly is a miss?
- 15:12Speaker 1: But you can't let me ask you a question, Tommy,
- 15:16Speaker 1: can you just disappear for three four days and still
- 15:19Speaker 1: live here? What? No, junior, can you date a woman
- 15:26Speaker 1: and disappear for three four days, not if I want
- 15:29Speaker 1: to be in relationship. Okay, thank you. That's that's the
- 15:32Speaker 1: answer to your question. Next question ship, Okay, this is
- 15:35Speaker 1: from Jerrian and Tampa. I'm a twenty nine year old
- 15:38Speaker 1: woman and I'm engaged to a wonderful man. I'm a
- 15:41Speaker 1: wonderful man, but I can't stand his meddling. Mama, my
- 15:45Speaker 1: Beyonce has three kids by three different women, and I
- 15:48Speaker 1: help out financially with the kids. I love his kids,
- 15:52Speaker 1: but I don't think we should have anymore. He agreed
- 15:55Speaker 1: at first, but then his mother told him that I'm
- 15:57Speaker 1: selfish and it's a wife's place to give give a
- 16:01Speaker 1: man a baby. Now, by fiance has brought into her
- 16:04Speaker 1: bs and keeps asking why don't I want to have
- 16:07Speaker 1: his child? We pay enough child support as it is.
- 16:10Speaker 1: How can I get him to understand my point of view? Well,
- 16:15Speaker 1: he's listening to his mama's point of view from nineteen
- 16:18Speaker 1: fifty and it really okay. I'm just trying to get
- 16:23Speaker 1: it backed up as close as I can to reality.
- 16:28Speaker 1: You're talking about something, h that a woman's place is
- 16:32Speaker 1: to give a woman a man a baby, not if
- 16:36Speaker 1: she don't want to. It is a woman choice in
- 16:40Speaker 1: this matter. I got your man want this and you
- 16:43Speaker 1: want that, but you all have already talked about it.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Now here's the thing. If you got a great guy
- 16:49Speaker 1: and he's engaged, but his meddling mama, you're gonna have
- 16:53Speaker 1: to find a way to play around the mother. You're
- 16:56Speaker 1: gonna have to say, Look, I really really respect your opinion,
- 16:59Speaker 1: but I I just can't have any more children. I mean,
- 17:02Speaker 1: does she have the children or he has no he
- 17:05Speaker 1: has the two children by two women, by three He's
- 17:09Speaker 1: got three children three different women, and and his fiance
- 17:13Speaker 1: helps pay the child support. Don't get that part. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:17Speaker 1: well I don't want any Well, I think I think
- 17:19Speaker 1: that the mother's being unreasonable because she's not being selfish
- 17:23Speaker 1: at all, because she's helping pay for some child support
- 17:26Speaker 1: today none of her business at all. But she accepted
- 17:31Speaker 1: the man, so she's buying in with the with the
- 17:34Speaker 1: it's none of her business. And you don't have to
- 17:36Speaker 1: have a baby that you don't want to have, and
- 17:38Speaker 1: I don't recommend that you do. And maybe this is
- 17:40Speaker 1: a good thing. She can see who he really is.
- 17:43Speaker 1: A mama's boy. Yeah, oh dude, he just got real
- 17:51Speaker 1: all right here? We go. Marlin. Oh. This is from
- 17:54Speaker 1: an I Heeart radio app listener. His name is Marlin.
- 17:57Speaker 1: He says, Hey, Steve, I'm having a problem with my
- 17:59Speaker 1: lady letting me be a real man. We're both forty
- 18:02Speaker 1: four years old and she is a great job, two
- 18:04Speaker 1: cars and a nice home. I'm mow her lawn, wash
- 18:07Speaker 1: her car, fill her up with gas, and I leave
- 18:11Speaker 1: cash on the dresser for her weekly. She gets upset
- 18:15Speaker 1: when I leave the money. The other day she yelled
- 18:18Speaker 1: at me and said it has to stop. Then she
- 18:21Speaker 1: gave me a box full of the money that I
- 18:23Speaker 1: have been leaving for her. I was blown away. She
- 18:26Speaker 1: won't let me be a man, and that's not how
- 18:28Speaker 1: I was raised. She might be too independent for me.
- 18:31Speaker 1: What do you think, well, see, listen to me, listen
- 18:34Speaker 1: to herself. I think you have to pay attention to
- 18:37Speaker 1: what she may be saying. You don't live with her.
- 18:40Speaker 1: She's got two cars, a nice home, and a job.
- 18:44Speaker 1: You leave it money out when you leave, trying to
- 18:47Speaker 1: be a man. But could it be that you're causing
- 18:51Speaker 1: her to feel like she is a prostitute because you
- 18:55Speaker 1: come over and then you leave money, and then you
- 18:59Speaker 1: leave and just money on the dresser. Have you ever thought, brother,
- 19:05Speaker 1: that she could be a feeling like I don't want you,
- 19:07Speaker 1: feeling like you buying me. She didn't ask you for that,
- 19:12Speaker 1: so she didn't gave you back a box full of money.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Hold up, dog, you can't take care of this woman
- 19:18Speaker 1: no better than that. You can't come up with a
- 19:21Speaker 1: more reasonable way to approach her. First of all, you
- 19:25Speaker 1: need to understand why she's giving you this money back,
- 19:28Speaker 1: how she really feels. Is it offensive to her, which
- 19:31Speaker 1: I can almost promise you as part of the problem,
- 19:35Speaker 1: or the way you leave the money could be part
- 19:38Speaker 1: of the problem. Or what you say, Hey, look, I
- 19:40Speaker 1: left you a little something something, But the dog, You've
- 19:44Speaker 1: got to man. This woman right here, who got herself together,
- 19:51Speaker 1: she needs some other things from you. Now. Look, man,
- 19:54Speaker 1: if you want to do something, man, put put the
- 19:58Speaker 1: money in account and buy the woman. Or all right,
- 20:00Speaker 1: give us something for one of the kids, futures or
- 20:03Speaker 1: something like that, started college fund for the kids, do
- 20:06Speaker 1: something that. Or she can go, oh my god, don't
- 20:09Speaker 1: pay her after you leave her house. Don't leave the
- 20:12Speaker 1: money on the dresser. Dog's but he equates that with
- 20:15Speaker 1: being a man. He says, right, it is I understand
- 20:21Speaker 1: what he said? Who leaves money on the dresser dog
- 20:29Speaker 1: super real man? Worse, she got to put the money
- 20:31Speaker 1: in the box because she don't want to accept the
- 20:33Speaker 1: money that she didn't kept the money. She's trying to
- 20:35Speaker 1: show you a point. This is not the way I
- 20:38Speaker 1: want to accept help from you. Find another way to
- 20:41Speaker 1: be a man. Being a man, ain't leaving money out.
- 20:44Speaker 1: All right, Well, coming up next, the nephew in the
- 20:47Speaker 1: building with run that break back that's coming. All right,
- 20:51Speaker 1: you're listening. Coming up at the top of the hour,
- 20:56Speaker 1: Miss Anne will be here with today's national news and headline.
- 21:00Speaker 1: But right now it's time for the nephew to run
- 21:02Speaker 1: that prank back Wash and Foe Washing fold hide is
- 21:07Speaker 1: Come on, cat, Hello, Hello, I'm trying to reach Sam.
- 21:13Speaker 1: All right, Sammy, I'm not which one, Sammy? What's up? Hey, Sammy?
- 21:18Speaker 1: How are you? This is uh, This is Kevin. I'm
- 21:20Speaker 1: the uh, the manager over here at Fresh and Clean
- 21:23Speaker 1: Washing Fold. Yeah, well, what's going on, keV Um? You
- 21:26Speaker 1: bring your clothes here pretty much on a on a
- 21:28Speaker 1: weekly basis, Is that correct? Yeah? I stopped through probably
- 21:32Speaker 1: once a week. Okay, and you're bringing you know, I
- 21:34Speaker 1: mean you're pretty much bringing a full load of clothes
- 21:36Speaker 1: pretty much once a week, right, Yeah, I just bring
- 21:39Speaker 1: whatever I got. Okay, Um, well, we got a bit
- 21:42Speaker 1: of a problem talking to my my employees here that
- 21:45Speaker 1: have been what's going on? I mean you not get
- 21:49Speaker 1: your money or something? Oh no, no, no, you you
- 21:51Speaker 1: We have you on file, your your your card goes
- 21:54Speaker 1: through every week when you when you bring your things.
- 21:56Speaker 1: So no, that's that's not the issue at all. I'll
- 21:58Speaker 1: write them. What kind of problem could we have? Well,
- 22:02Speaker 1: the ladies that are watching the clothes are complaining that
- 22:04Speaker 1: when you bring your load in. I mean, I don't
- 22:07Speaker 1: know how to really tell you this, but you're you're
- 22:08Speaker 1: saying that your underwear is too dirty. They don't want
- 22:10Speaker 1: to watch it. You know you playing right? No, I'm
- 22:15Speaker 1: dead serious. What are you talking about? My underwear is dirty?
- 22:20Speaker 1: I'm not any more dirty than anybody else, sir. All
- 22:23Speaker 1: I can tell you is we watched quite a few
- 22:25Speaker 1: people's clothes on a daily basis, weekly basis. For my
- 22:28Speaker 1: employees to complain about your load, than I have to
- 22:32Speaker 1: give you a call and talk to you about it.
- 22:34Speaker 1: My man, I feel like my phone. No, that's not
- 22:38Speaker 1: what this is bro. This is actually a call and
- 22:40Speaker 1: I and you know we have we have two options.
- 22:43Speaker 1: You are you out there calling everybody else? No, I
- 22:46Speaker 1: don't have I haven't had a complaint. I know there's
- 22:49Speaker 1: more dirty people than me going in your spot because
- 22:51Speaker 1: I see them. Okay, here's a deal. We have two
- 22:55Speaker 1: options here. You can scrub your underwear before you bring
- 22:59Speaker 1: it in. First off, you over here raising your voice, Now,
- 23:02Speaker 1: what are you talking about? Scrub my underwear? We clean? Man,
- 23:05Speaker 1: I'm clean. I bring my thin, I drop it off,
- 23:08Speaker 1: I pick it up. Okay, so here's the problem once again,
- 23:11Speaker 1: I'll start this off. You have two options, sir. You
- 23:14Speaker 1: can bring in your stuff scrubbed. Okay, when and when
- 23:18Speaker 1: my ladies take a look at it, if they're comfortable
- 23:20Speaker 1: with cleaning it, so be it. Or you know, we
- 23:22Speaker 1: might not be able to accept your your clothes anymore. Man,
- 23:25Speaker 1: I don't even got to go up there anymore. Then,
- 23:27Speaker 1: if you if you really playing around on my phone
- 23:29Speaker 1: like this, I even got to go up in anymore.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Let me talk to your manager. Man, I am the manager, sir,
- 23:35Speaker 1: I'm Kevin. You sound like the manager? You what what? What?
- 23:40Speaker 1: What does a manager sound like? Then? Sammy, you know
- 23:44Speaker 1: who owned the building. Let me talk to him. Okay,
- 23:46Speaker 1: here's out here right now. I'm the manager and I'm
- 23:48Speaker 1: the one taking care of this problem. My ladies have
- 23:51Speaker 1: a problem with watching your underwear, and I'm calling you
- 23:53Speaker 1: to let you know there's a problem. I'm letting you know.
- 23:55Speaker 1: The way to rectify the problem is you can scrub
- 23:57Speaker 1: them before you bring them in, and then we will
- 23:59Speaker 1: watch them. If you do not want to do that,
- 24:01Speaker 1: we will not be allowed to take You ain't gonna
- 24:04Speaker 1: wreck the fight. You just need to quit calling my
- 24:06Speaker 1: phone on this boot. I ain't gonna go up there
- 24:08Speaker 1: no more. Then that's fun. I ain't got to come
- 24:09Speaker 1: through your spot, that's fun. Do you know how dirty
- 24:13Speaker 1: how funky your clothes gotta be? Man? For my for
- 24:15Speaker 1: my people to be telling me they don't want to
- 24:17Speaker 1: wash them any more, you know how funky that's got
- 24:19Speaker 1: to be, Sammy, Man, who your people? Who are your ladies? Man?
- 24:23Speaker 1: I go up in there. I ain't never had a
- 24:25Speaker 1: problem with they are? You know what? I ain't never
- 24:27Speaker 1: even seen your supping this mother? What if you've been
- 24:30Speaker 1: at there? Now? It looks like I got a problem
- 24:32Speaker 1: with Kevin. Who the fuck is Kevin Man. You say
- 24:34Speaker 1: you the manager, you ain't never been there. I'm here.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I'm just not here when you're here. Are you in
- 24:39Speaker 1: the back washing those drawers? Going on with you? Man?
- 24:42Speaker 1: I'm not in I'm not in the backwatching, but I am.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I am here periodically when I need to be. Don't
- 24:47Speaker 1: worry about when I'm at work, man. I ain't never
- 24:50Speaker 1: seen your wiss and I ain't never had a problem
- 24:51Speaker 1: with your lady. Hey, we don't worry about when I'm
- 24:53Speaker 1: at work. Worry about how to scrub your underwear. That's
- 24:57Speaker 1: what you worry about. Man. I'm done with you, bro.
- 25:02Speaker 1: What do you want my phone doing this for you? Man?
- 25:04Speaker 1: You know your ass and everybody at that month washing foe. Bro,
- 25:09Speaker 1: you know what? You know what. I'm trying to be
- 25:10Speaker 1: as professional as I can. But the way that you're
- 25:13Speaker 1: talking to me, you can wash your damn close your
- 25:15Speaker 1: own self, then that's what you can do. That's fun, man,
- 25:18Speaker 1: and you can keep on managing god laundry. Man, whatever
- 25:22Speaker 1: are you doing with your life? Okay, we'll do whatever
- 25:24Speaker 1: you're doing with your life, but do do the world
- 25:27Speaker 1: a favor and clean your draws. B I'm gonna come
- 25:30Speaker 1: through and wash your you keep talking around on my phone. Hey,
- 25:33Speaker 1: how you want to do this? Here's what I'm gonna do.
- 25:36Speaker 1: I'm just letting you know. I'm gonna double charge your
- 25:38Speaker 1: credit card for the mind of work that my people
- 25:41Speaker 1: had to do. Close. I'm putting a stop payment of mind.
- 25:46Speaker 1: So if that goes through on your end, we're gonna
- 25:47Speaker 1: have a money problem. Well, I don't know how you're
- 25:50Speaker 1: gonna put a stop to it. When I'm running your
- 25:51Speaker 1: card right now, there's nothing you can freaking do. Okay, Okay,
- 25:55Speaker 1: that's that's fine. I'm gonna sho I'm gonna show up
- 25:57Speaker 1: at the Fresh and Clean there. You're the manager. You
- 25:59Speaker 1: should be there fifty hours a week. Then I'm gonna
- 26:01Speaker 1: come meet your Kevin. Okay, Well, that's that's fine with me.
- 26:04Speaker 1: You know what, I don't understand. Why can't you just say,
- 26:06Speaker 1: you know what, let me do a better job at
- 26:08Speaker 1: cleaning my underwear? How about that? I know I know
- 26:11Speaker 1: your life ain't that good. I know you over there
- 26:13Speaker 1: managing the game and now you're getting bored at working.
- 26:17Speaker 1: But don't becoming my phone playing around and this because
- 26:20Speaker 1: I know you ain't doing this. Nobody else I'm exactly
- 26:23Speaker 1: doing this or something. I'm not doing this to anybody else.
- 26:24Speaker 1: I don't have to do it anybody else because nobody's
- 26:26Speaker 1: bringing their clothes in like this. Bro, I've been up there.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Your employees are more dirty than mine? Well, Sammy, evidently not.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Evidently not your clothes. Why are my employees complaining about you?
- 26:37Speaker 1: I don't know a bunch of employees complaining about your too.
- 26:40Speaker 1: They're not complaining about my underwear. Sammy, you're the dirty guy. Man.
- 26:45Speaker 1: You know what I'm done with your Get You got
- 26:47Speaker 1: any other you want to talk about? We can talk
- 26:49Speaker 1: about Carlton. What do you just Carlton? How does you
- 26:53Speaker 1: know Carlton? I know he doesn't bring it stuff there? Oh,
- 26:56Speaker 1: you want to talk about your brother Carlton? You wanna
- 26:58Speaker 1: talk about him? Brother? Are you know if he's bringing
- 27:01Speaker 1: in something? He just started? So? Yeah, what we're gonna
- 27:04Speaker 1: talk about Carlton? What Carlton doing? Well, I'm gonna tell
- 27:07Speaker 1: you what Carlton doing. Carlton has been calling me, nephew,
- 27:10Speaker 1: Tommy from the Steve Harvey Morning Show to brank phone.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Call you, Sammy day. You just got brank baby, You
- 27:17Speaker 1: just got Brank brother, Carlton and the nephew. Man, you
- 27:21Speaker 1: you ain't carton calling me about some underwear. Brother. We
- 27:31Speaker 1: need we need a little washing scrub, baby, little washing
- 27:34Speaker 1: scrub man. You you man? You're good, right man, nobody's nobody.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Your underwears clean, Sammy, your underwears clean. Keep dropping them
- 27:45Speaker 1: off at to watch your phone. Don't quit, don't quit
- 27:47Speaker 1: taking your clothes up there. I'm good man. I don't
- 27:49Speaker 1: know about Carlton as it is, but I'm good. I
- 27:51Speaker 1: ain't Sammy, Dan, you gotta tell me twenty twenty? Baby,
- 27:54Speaker 1: what is the baddest and I mean the baddest radio
- 27:56Speaker 1: show in the land, The Steve Harvey Show? You clean, baby,
- 28:04Speaker 1: little watching scrub, watching scrub? What y'all think? I think
- 28:11Speaker 1: you're crazy. That's a good thing. Wrong, That's what I
- 28:16Speaker 1: need to hear. See what I get through? And you
- 28:18Speaker 1: say that something wrong? What's the matter with you? Why
- 28:20Speaker 1: do you do this? These are these are all compliments, y'all.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Don't realize very again? Washing fold okay, well, wh it
- 28:30Speaker 1: your folding? So you were saying you have a meeting
- 28:34Speaker 1: with your w No, I don't have a meeting. She
- 28:37Speaker 1: gave me a call and just giving me some stuff
- 28:39Speaker 1: to work on. So I, um, I got one sentence. Okay, okay, um,
- 28:46Speaker 1: I won't what I want and I want it when
- 28:48Speaker 1: I want it. I won't what I won't and I
- 28:54Speaker 1: want it when I want it. It's a forty on
- 28:58Speaker 1: a test. All right. We'll have more of the Steve
- 29:01Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show coming up right after this. You're listening
- 29:06Speaker 1: to the show now. This is according to Business Journal.
- 29:13Speaker 1: This is a new survey that finds that a lot
- 29:15Speaker 1: of employees would rather have more vacation rather than a
- 29:18Speaker 1: pay raise. Really, yeah, if given the choice, forty one
- 29:22Speaker 1: percent of people would actually rather have more paid vacation
- 29:26Speaker 1: time than a pay raise. While we're always, yeah, we're
- 29:30Speaker 1: always hearing about us employees not using up all they're
- 29:33Speaker 1: paid vacation each year, it seems like a lot of
- 29:35Speaker 1: folks really do want more time off. In fact, a
- 29:38Speaker 1: new survey finds that if given the choice, for cent
- 29:42Speaker 1: of the people would actually rather have more paid vacation
- 29:45Speaker 1: than a paid race. I can't say that enough. Do
- 29:48Speaker 1: you think you'd rather have more vacation time or a
- 29:51Speaker 1: pay raise? Yeah? I'm kind of on the fence with
- 29:57Speaker 1: this one because I don't take a lot of vacation,
- 30:00Speaker 1: which is crazy. If you give me six days, I'm
- 30:02Speaker 1: taking them. I ever last one, ever last one of them.
- 30:05Speaker 1: I don't take a lot of vacation. I really don't.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Never tell me. I don't hand them a day. It
- 30:09Speaker 1: ain't an option from me. You got to tell me
- 30:11Speaker 1: about a six days in vacation. Yeah, tell them. You
- 30:14Speaker 1: don't say no, No, I'm on. Yeah, I guarantee you
- 30:16Speaker 1: I'm taking my sick days. Yeah. I guess I would
- 30:18Speaker 1: be there. I get a pay raise. I guess i'd
- 30:20Speaker 1: be that that person. Yeah, instead of vacation days, because
- 30:24Speaker 1: I barely rarely take the ones that I have. I'm
- 30:27Speaker 1: supposed to be a vacation right now. I love you
- 30:30Speaker 1: a lie, but southing is really really wrong with you.
- 30:34Speaker 1: It is it is am I working home? Well, I
- 30:38Speaker 1: think your business I want to allow you. I think.
- 30:41Speaker 1: I think. I think your business borderline tips off into
- 30:47Speaker 1: stupid you telling me today, and if your business is
- 30:58Speaker 1: overrunning you, yeah, it tips over into stupidity because why
- 31:04Speaker 1: your ass won't take your vacation. Supposed to be on vacation,
- 31:07Speaker 1: now take it, put in for it, and I put
- 31:12Speaker 1: in for it, and I'm here. You can have your days. Okay.
- 31:20Speaker 1: I told me, Steve, you can take off from now
- 31:26Speaker 1: all of your jobs and we'll just send you the check.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Oh yeah, who wouldn't sign up for that? My ass
- 31:32Speaker 1: is gone. Yeah, oh I'm doing that. It's gone. I'm
- 31:35Speaker 1: gone gone. Okay, let me ask you this question. Whatever
- 31:39Speaker 1: your salary is. If somebody gave you three years of
- 31:43Speaker 1: your salary and gave it to you at one time, yeah,
- 31:47Speaker 1: would you quit your job? No? Hell now, no, No,
- 31:51Speaker 1: I got to be in here and running the board.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Move over. I like having a purpose. Yeah, I think
- 32:00Speaker 1: that's what I like. Having a purpose. Definitely, I have
- 32:02Speaker 1: something to do. Yeah, I like. I like. So, so
- 32:04Speaker 1: let me ask you your salary. Yeah, your salary for
- 32:08Speaker 1: three years? We would you quit all of your Yeah?
- 32:13Speaker 1: Straight out of here? Yeah, well it's a little different.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Not three home and tell Marjorie and she'd be all
- 32:24Speaker 1: right with that decision. Just what we're gonna do it? Well,
- 32:29Speaker 1: you can live off of it, and tell what we're
- 32:32Speaker 1: gonna do. Now, listen to me. We're gonna slow down.
- 32:36Speaker 1: We're gonna slow down. We're gonna buy a couple of things.
- 32:39Speaker 1: We're gonna lock it down. Then I'm gonna go back
- 32:41Speaker 1: and get another show. But right now, but right now, down,
- 32:47Speaker 1: we're going on another trip, and we're gonna slow down,
- 32:57Speaker 1: all right, Steve, Time for today's headlines, Ladies and gentlemen.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Miss Anne Tripp, thank you very much, and good morning everyone.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Here we go. Senate Republicans are facing more and more
- 33:07Speaker 1: pressure to join Democrats and setting up a special commission
- 33:10Speaker 1: to investigate the January sixth riot, but looks like they
- 33:13Speaker 1: don't care about that. Yesterday, the mother of late Capitol
- 33:16Speaker 1: police officer Bryan Siknik joined other members of law enforcement
- 33:19Speaker 1: and meeting with individual senators in an effort to try
- 33:22Speaker 1: to get them to sign on to an official probe,
- 33:24Speaker 1: something West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin says should be easy
- 33:27Speaker 1: to do. Democrats, Basically, you've given everything they've asked for,
- 33:31Speaker 1: any impediment that would have been there, and there's no
- 33:33Speaker 1: reason not to now unless you just don't want to
- 33:35Speaker 1: hear the truth. By the way, according to a lot
- 33:37Speaker 1: to a report, a lot of Trump supporters who did
- 33:39Speaker 1: storm the Capitol building on January sixth and not agreeing
- 33:42Speaker 1: to any plea deals when asked or offered them, they say,
- 33:44Speaker 1: I don't want any They apparently believe that the Donald
- 33:47Speaker 1: is going to step in and save them. A racist
- 33:50Speaker 1: white woman in South Carolina since the twenty years in
- 33:52Speaker 1: prison for unprovoked attacks on her black and Latino neighbors,
- 33:56Speaker 1: prosecuto Say Mandy Fortson's convicted of firing a handgun to
- 34:00Speaker 1: an apartment where a black family lives, wounding the father
- 34:02Speaker 1: and traumatizing his kids, and into the home where an
- 34:05Speaker 1: Hispanic family resides. Prosecuted say Mandy, a forty eight year
- 34:08Speaker 1: old former paramedic, tried to lie about what she did,
- 34:11Speaker 1: but unfortunately for her, there was evidence showing that she
- 34:14Speaker 1: went into her backyard, started shooting, and after firing six shots,
- 34:17Speaker 1: reloaded and continued shooting again. Mandy Fort since of twenty years,
- 34:22Speaker 1: local cops interested enough, did not charge this one with
- 34:25Speaker 1: a hate crime. President Biden still in his two pronged
- 34:28Speaker 1: mission to come to a meeting of the minds with
- 34:30Speaker 1: the Congress on his infrastructure plans, while at the same
- 34:32Speaker 1: time engendering the faith and support of the American people
- 34:35Speaker 1: for his administrations. Working as a whole. He was in
- 34:38Speaker 1: Cleveland yesterday. He turned the tide on the one in
- 34:41Speaker 1: the century pandemic we turned the tide on a once
- 34:44Speaker 1: in a generation economic crisis, and families are beginning to
- 34:48Speaker 1: be able to breathe just a little bit easier. We
- 34:50Speaker 1: still have work to do, but our future today is
- 34:53Speaker 1: as bright and as wide open as it ever has been.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Mister Baden also Biden rather also says it's time to
- 34:59Speaker 1: give the nation's middle class work is a quote fair
- 35:01Speaker 1: shake with an economy that he says benefits everyone and
- 35:03Speaker 1: not just the rich. History made at the White House
- 35:06Speaker 1: this week Karin Gjean Pierre the only the second woman
- 35:09Speaker 1: ever to represent the White House on an official briefing.
- 35:12Speaker 1: She's also the first openly gay woman to hold a post,
- 35:15Speaker 1: the last black woman to hold Jean Pierre's position with
- 35:17Speaker 1: Judy Smith. That's the woman who was the inspiration for
- 35:21Speaker 1: the Oliver Olivia Pope character on the hit show Can't
- 35:24Speaker 1: Scandal As if a white cops haven't looked bad enough
- 35:26Speaker 1: these days for him in a kind of swat like
- 35:28Speaker 1: uniforms and two dogs posed with a picture of a
- 35:30Speaker 1: captured black robbery suspect and listen up, you and the
- 35:33Speaker 1: family want to go to Disneyland as a sandwich dead
- 35:36Speaker 1: of course. One hundred dollars. It's Scott Salami, Rosemary Ham,
- 35:39Speaker 1: Provolone and Sundroft. Well anywhere it's one hundred bucks. Just no,
- 35:44Speaker 1: wait a minute, Reggie, just share it. Okay. Back to
- 35:48Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey boarding show. You're listening to show? All right, Steve,

- 36:14Speaker 1: underset when he did a video. Great song my song.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Along with my buddy Ralph Harris Hawkins Junior, we wrote
- 36:21Speaker 1: someone Stole My Woman, So check it out. Who stole
- 36:25Speaker 1: my woman? Stole my woman? Someone down that stole my woman? No, no, no,
- 36:38Speaker 1: we had a strong connection, but sometimes I acted kind
- 36:44Speaker 1: of me. I wouldn't show you a function, and I

- 36:59Speaker 1: revenge shot. Trying to get to yeah and baby as

- 47:18Speaker 1: And uh, I mean, you know my post just passed
- 47:21Speaker 1: away not too long ago. And I ain't you know,
- 47:24Speaker 1: I ain't too keen or my mama going out with somebody.
- 47:27Speaker 1: And besides you, you don't even sound like you. Hey,

- 48:18Speaker 1: even know I was calling you. Second of all, I'm
- 48:20Speaker 1: calling and speak with her. I'm not calling trying to
- 48:23Speaker 1: get permission from you. Miss Burns is a grown woman.
- 48:25Speaker 1: And whoa whoa whoa talking about now? I don't think
- 48:29Speaker 1: you're every man. I just came back from fighting overseed.
- 48:32Speaker 1: My pops passed away not too long ago. I am
- 48:35Speaker 1: the man of the house. Let's get that straight right now,
- 48:37Speaker 1: all right. I don't care if I'm still living at
- 48:40Speaker 1: home or not. I'm the man of this house, all right.
- 48:42Speaker 1: You calling the ass my mama on a date, you
- 48:46Speaker 1: might as well just stick the church dog, because you know,
- 48:48Speaker 1: as I said, be blessed. But it ain't gonna be
- 48:50Speaker 1: no blessing from me to you. I tell you that
- 48:54Speaker 1: right now. Okay, I'm not looking for a blessing from
- 48:57Speaker 1: you at all. Bro. You might no less sea, and
- 49:01Speaker 1: I respect the fact that you've been overseas and you've
- 49:03Speaker 1: been fighting for this country. Okay, But if I decide
- 49:06Speaker 1: I want to speak to miss Burns about going out,
- 49:09Speaker 1: I think Miss Burns has every right to decide if
- 49:11Speaker 1: she would like to go out with Gordon's or not,
- 49:14Speaker 1: and Gordon wants to take her out, I took up.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Hold up, look, bro, I don't care how old you
- 49:20Speaker 1: say you are, all right, Number one, you're too young.
- 49:23Speaker 1: As I already mentioned. All right, this ain't going down
- 49:26Speaker 1: with you and my mama. I'm straight up, hey, man,
- 49:29Speaker 1: that's for your mama to decide. No, No, you you
- 49:32Speaker 1: bringing up my mamma. You're letting the word your mama
- 49:34Speaker 1: come out your mouth again. That's gonna get you up,
- 49:37Speaker 1: all right. I don't know where you're from. I don't
- 49:40Speaker 1: give how old you are. I'm pretty sick. I know
- 49:43Speaker 1: what church my mamma go to and and it ain't
- 49:45Speaker 1: gonna be her. And you you ain't gonna be asking
- 49:48Speaker 1: her out, all right. I don't give what it takes.
- 49:50Speaker 1: I would show up on Sunday, catch up in the
- 49:54Speaker 1: pulpit or wherever you're gonna be sitting in the back
- 49:57Speaker 1: of the choir. It don't matter something's going down. You
- 49:59Speaker 1: will not gonna get with my mama like that. You
- 50:02Speaker 1: got that. That's up for your mama to decide if
- 50:04Speaker 1: your mamma want to go out with me down dinner.
- 50:06Speaker 1: I ain't looking long with that, man, I'm I'm deciding
- 50:09Speaker 1: it right now. It ain't gonna happen. I told you before,
- 50:13Speaker 1: be blessed or get your wook. You got two choices,
- 50:16Speaker 1: all right. I didn't fight sees three years to come
- 50:20Speaker 1: back and also deal with my daddy did and then
- 50:23Speaker 1: come back. I'm suffering from PSD. Dog, I don't know
- 50:26Speaker 1: what I'm gonna do unless you want to get it
- 50:29Speaker 1: like that suffering from one a PSD post traumatic stress syndrome,
- 50:34Speaker 1: and I will release all that on you. Got that.

- 50:57Speaker 1: Can I say one more fight? Ain't kill you? Man?
- 50:59Speaker 1: You explode. You ain't got nothing else to say. I
- 51:02Speaker 1: got one more thing before you explode? Man? Is you listening? Yeah? Man, James?
- 51:07Speaker 1: What hey? Man? I want to tell you this. Man.

- 51:49Speaker 1: What is the baddest and I mean the baddest radio
- 51:52Speaker 1: show in the land? Man, Nothing but the Steve Harvey

- 52:24Speaker 1: That's you right there at that edge. But he usually
- 52:28Speaker 1: goes to the edge, step over it sometime. You you
- 52:34Speaker 1: think I'm mumbible? Now now perfectly? My God? Is this

- 53:18Speaker 1: We got it for you. Here it is. It is
- 53:20Speaker 1: the Strawberry Letter subject. I don't do black or broke.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Dear Stephen Shirley, I have a loving heart and always
- 53:29Speaker 1: try to help others. That being said, the other day,
- 53:33Speaker 1: I was in the discount store buying toiletries to make
- 53:36Speaker 1: packets for the homeless. I keep at least five packets
- 53:40Speaker 1: in my car at all times, and I give them
- 53:42Speaker 1: out when I see the need. So I was in
- 53:44Speaker 1: the checkout line and there was a couple in front
- 53:47Speaker 1: of me. I overheard the lady asked the clerk how
- 53:49Speaker 1: much was tax on a seven ninety nine shirt seven
- 53:53Speaker 1: dollars and ninety nine cent Shirton. The cashier told her
- 53:56Speaker 1: sixty nine cents. Both the man and woman started looking
- 54:00Speaker 1: everywhere for the change. I eased over to the man
- 54:04Speaker 1: and I tried to slip two dollars in his hand.
- 54:07Speaker 1: Sounds like a good gesture, right, Well, No, I couldn't
- 54:11Speaker 1: believe the sugar honey iced tea that happened. Next. The
- 54:14Speaker 1: half of that was with the half of that was
- 54:17Speaker 1: with this man loudly accused me of pushing up on
- 54:19Speaker 1: her man. I told her that I was just trying
- 54:22Speaker 1: to help them out. She told me she didn't care
- 54:25Speaker 1: and that she didn't appreciate me in her man's face.
- 54:28Speaker 1: I apologized and told her that I should have given
- 54:31Speaker 1: it to her, but the man was closest to me.
- 54:34Speaker 1: The man was thanking me and apologizing, which made her
- 54:37Speaker 1: go off even more. She was so upset that she
- 54:41Speaker 1: left without buying the shirt, but kept my two dollars. Well.
- 54:45Speaker 1: I was so mad, I yelled, look, you call a
- 54:48Speaker 1: green Eden insecure EBT card carrying half of I'm married
- 54:52Speaker 1: to a white man. I don't do black or broke.
- 54:55Speaker 1: I don't want your broke, but man broke, as like said,
- 55:00Speaker 1: that's what the letter said. Like I said, I have
- 55:03Speaker 1: a loving, caring heart, and I love black people. I
- 55:07Speaker 1: truly hate people with this kind of mentality. What's wrong
- 55:09Speaker 1: with our people? I know I could have handled this differently.
- 55:12Speaker 1: How should I have responded, Well, well, it's sure and
- 55:18Speaker 1: I can't wait to hear yours. Thank you, Steve. Well,
- 55:22Speaker 1: it just doesn't sound like you love black people. To me,
- 55:24Speaker 1: it doesn't sound like that at all. Sounds like you
- 55:26Speaker 1: hate them. And I definitely question the part about you know,
- 55:30Speaker 1: all this love you have in your heart, especially for
- 55:33Speaker 1: these people you called Collard Green eating insecure ebt car
- 55:37Speaker 1: carrying what you called her that. I think you were wrong.
- 55:41Speaker 1: I mean, I just don't think you slip another woman's
- 55:46Speaker 1: man money. It's just not a good look. Good intentions
- 55:49Speaker 1: or not. Uh, it just wasn't a good look. Any
- 55:53Speaker 1: other woman would have been upset with you too, because
- 55:57Speaker 1: when she looks over and sees you slip in some
- 55:59Speaker 1: money in her hand, what is she supposed to think?
- 56:02Speaker 1: Like what she thought? You're pushing up on her man?
- 56:05Speaker 1: And you know you threw it out there like that
- 56:07Speaker 1: because you're married to a white man. I mean, you
- 56:12Speaker 1: just won't convince me that you like black people with
- 56:15Speaker 1: this attitude. I mean, how should you have responded? You
- 56:18Speaker 1: ask if you really wanted to help. You could have
- 56:20Speaker 1: offered to give the two of them the two dollars.
- 56:23Speaker 1: I've seen that happen many times in the grossery store.
- 56:26Speaker 1: If people come up short, the person behind them might say, Oh,
- 56:30Speaker 1: don't worry about it, I got it, or I'll pay
- 56:32Speaker 1: for it. Or you could have simply given it to
- 56:34Speaker 1: the cashier. If you could have said you were going
- 56:36Speaker 1: to give it to her, or given it to her discreetly.
- 56:38Speaker 1: I just don't think you would have reacted. I think
- 56:41Speaker 1: you would have reacted the same way if someone tried
- 56:43Speaker 1: to do that to you, and you're a white man
- 56:45Speaker 1: that you so proudly speak of. Steve, there's my answer. Well,
- 56:51Speaker 1: pretty good, surely. Oh here's a deal. This is lettuce
- 56:55Speaker 1: kind of. She opens a letter by saying I have
- 56:58Speaker 1: a loving heart and always try to help people. Then
- 57:01Speaker 1: she start telling you what type of loving heart she has,
- 57:05Speaker 1: and she has a loving heart for the homeless. She
- 57:08Speaker 1: keep five packets in a car just in case she
- 57:11Speaker 1: run up into somebody, so she in the checkout line. Now,
- 57:15Speaker 1: this is her loving heart. Her loving heart is for
- 57:19Speaker 1: homeless people, and she keep five packs. She in the
- 57:22Speaker 1: checkout line, lady behind a shirt. They asked how much
- 57:25Speaker 1: is taxes. They don't have the money. So you see
- 57:30Speaker 1: some people in need and you try to help. You
- 57:33Speaker 1: slip the guy two dollars. She see it and go off.
- 57:37Speaker 1: Now you were wrong for sliding this man the money.
- 57:41Speaker 1: You know that, okay, But and you think it was
- 57:46Speaker 1: a good gesture. I understand technically what you're doing is right.
- 57:50Speaker 1: How you went about it was wrong, okay. Well you
- 57:56Speaker 1: couldn't believe the sugar hunted iced to have next. Now,
- 58:00Speaker 1: I was reading this letter and I was thinking when
- 58:04Speaker 1: the subject says I don't do black or broke, I
- 58:07Speaker 1: thought you were white. But I was wrong. Sugar honey
- 58:12Speaker 1: iced tea is a black statement. The health funk that
- 58:18Speaker 1: was with the man, that's another black statement. So now
- 58:23Speaker 1: I know you black. Accuse me of pushing up on
- 58:27Speaker 1: her man. I told her you just trying to help
- 58:30Speaker 1: him out. She said she don't care, and she didn't
- 58:34Speaker 1: appreciate you in your man's face, her man's face. I
- 58:37Speaker 1: apologized and told her, now you so far, you're doing
- 58:40Speaker 1: the right thing. You apologize. I could understand you're calling
- 58:44Speaker 1: her health. I got that you apologize to and you
- 58:48Speaker 1: told it. You probably should have given it to her.
- 58:51Speaker 1: But the man was closest to you, and then the
- 58:54Speaker 1: man he thinks or thinking sorry about this and it's sorry,
- 58:57Speaker 1: it's going out, which made him on mad. Now without
- 59:00Speaker 1: buying the shirt, she kept your two dollars. Now here
- 59:05Speaker 1: comes the loving heart. Right. Look, you call it green
- 59:13Speaker 1: eating insecure EBT card? Can Heifer? Now let me ask
- 59:21Speaker 1: you something, because now I know you black. What made
- 59:25Speaker 1: you assume that she loved call it greens? And what
- 59:32Speaker 1: made you assume she was has an EBT card? Hang on, Steve,
- 59:39Speaker 1: we'll come back for part two of your response at
- 59:42Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour. Today's Strawberry Letters, subject I
- 59:46Speaker 1: don't do black or broke right after this you're listening,
- 59:53Speaker 1: all right, Steve, Let's recap today's strawberry letter. It's really simple.
- 59:56Speaker 1: This woman says she has loving heart, She helps the home.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: She met a couple in the store buying a shirt.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: They didn't have enough money. She slipped two dollars in
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: the man's hand. The woman went off cause you won't
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: be giving my manner and get out his face. You
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: apologize you're doing all right. Then you told her you
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: should have given it to her, and then you said
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: I love black people. She kept her two dollars and
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: walked out the store. This is where your love for
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: black people turned. She walked out the door. You man
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: so mad? You told her you called green eat insecure,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: EBT card carrying heifer. I'm married to a white man.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: I don't do black or broke. I don't want your
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: broke ass man. Now, you just handed the man two dollars.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Then you tell the lady, I don't want your broke
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: ass man the kind of give them. Yeah, you're a
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: funny giver and you're married to a white man. You
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: don't do black or broke. Wow, that's an interesting statement.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: I really don't have nothing for you, lady, except to Jessica.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: You love black people, but not enough to marry one.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: So your love for black people is limited because it's
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: been prejudiced by your thoughts that black people are insecure.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Call it green Eton and EBT car carrying people. Now
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: you can say like I said, I have a loving
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: heart and I love black people. I truly hate people
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: with this kind of mentality. What's wrong with our people? Well,
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: the same thing that's wrong with you because you one
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: of us, see you black, but you hate people with
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: that mentality? You know, the mentality we hate. We hate
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: people who don't love us enough to want to be
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: with us. We have people in our race like you
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: who look down on others because they don't fell on
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: some hard times. So now since you think they call
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: it greendy need bt can caring people. You don't even
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: want to marry one of them. So now, congratulations, you
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: have a white man. Ain't nothing wrong with that, do you, sister?
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: But don't tell or huh, you don't do black or broke?
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: What do you mean you don't do black? That'd be like,
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: for example, let me get you this example, lating. Let's
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: say I helped the homeless, and I got my little
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: fire bags in the car like you. But I'm driving
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: along and I see some homeless people. But I decide
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: that I don't do white, So now I don't help
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: the white people out skipt they homeless. These bags is
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: just for black people. See that's what you say it,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: I don't do black or broke like those two go together. Well,
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: I want to say something to you. All of us
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: on this show happened to be black. Ain't now one
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: of us? Broke? Not now one of us? But she
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: don't do it because we blacks lady, you sad. You're
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: sad the way you have me. Yeah, but you're not
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: gonna change because you have this. You have a self
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: hatred about yourself that's carried over into the rest of
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: the black people. So that's why you figure if you
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: go get a white man, that'll fix it for you.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: You're steal the black lady in your stuff. She's better
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: than Yeah. White people carry EBT cards to a lot
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: and they could be insecure, like Call of Greens. Yeah,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: you race on so many levels. I'm talking about John
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: kind of. It's like says, girl, you think white ice
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: cold hunt. Yeah, you're right, that's it's just it's sad
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: when people are that way. Man, Yeah, it is. And
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: she thinks it's okay. She sees nothing wrong with it. No,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: surely thought it was okay, good enough to write a
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: letter like we would agree with her. I hate people
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: like that. How should I have handled you had wrong?
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: First of all, Yeah, you're handled it wrong. Shouldn't have
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: told us you're gonna do black people cause I do.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: And she tried to to to sugarcoat it by saying
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: she helps the homeless, right, but I do black people
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: all day long, all day and white people too. I
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: do white people, thank you very much. Yes, I don't
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: mind doing white people. Think it was waiting. I was
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: waiting in some of your best friends of white, some
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: of my best friends so white. And let me tell you,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: I take the black money I get and I hang
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: out with white. But she's trying to make it like
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: the lady. Something's wrong with the other lady for going in.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: You're slipping her man some money. And when the lady
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: went up, I'm sorry, ye walk away from it. Right.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: It's not a good look. You're a strange woman slipping
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: her man some money. Anybody would have reacted. Any woman
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: would have reacted like that one did me. The reason
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: she don't do black or broke because she may used
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: to be black and broke. All right, listen, we gotta
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: get out of here. Email us, Instagram, my shirt thoughts
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: on today, very letter at Steve Harvey f M. All right,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: coming up next more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: Right after this. You're listening to show. All right, Uncle
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Nuff are here. You know, it's a Memorial Day weekend.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: So you guys, you UNC and NEF have some grilling
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: tips for the rules and all of that. Yeah, let's
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: get started. What you got. Do you clean your grill? Oh?
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Not that much. I really just I really just brush
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: off the residue from the last time fall into the flame. Yeah,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: but I don't clean the grill completely. You don't clean
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: the heat hit it. Once that head hit it, I'll
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: put I'll put that grill over that fire. Five kill
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: all John. Oh, and you just scrubbed off the leaves.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: I'll take my steel brushing it, clean it. But I
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: want that season. Are you do? Now? Walk me through this.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Walk me through marinade and a slab of reels. Now,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: marinating the slab a reel for me is very simple
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: because you can do it overnight, but it's not necessary.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: I do like a thirty five forty five hour long process.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: The first thing I do, I go down to Walmart
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: and they got this thing that can peel the skin
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: off the back of the ribs. The first day, the
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: little the little thin layer skin that that's real chewy.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: I takes that off. See, I peel that off. Keep going.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: I'm listening because this is how you really get your
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: meat to taste right. To take that skin off that's
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: on the bone side of the reel like so serious
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: first time to get this feel like yeah, and you
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: should be no note, come on cooking. I only use
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: a dry rub. That's all I use, Okay, and I
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: have a special dry rub that I use. All right,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: so you put that on? How long you just let that? Now? First,
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: I got my fire outside going right, but I prefer
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: the big green egg. That's what I got. That's the
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: best way. Then once I get that coals down there,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I pull them to three quarters side of the grille
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: because I got the big one, and I leave a
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: fourth for the grill with no coal under it. I
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: pull all the cold forward so I'm only on three
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: fourth to the grills in case my meat get there
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: going a little hot. I got a little cools, but
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: I can push the meat to keep it from direct
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: heat and cooking it. Then when I shut the lead down,
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: I monitor the dampers and the drafts on it to
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: keep it around two seventy five two fifth. That's good cooking,
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: tempt right there, two fifty two seventy five. Got that
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: green egg in there. Now, I rub my meat with
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: this dry rub. I take it out there and I
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: set it on the grill reub side down. Reub side
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: down at two seventy five and I shut it all right,
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Steve Um, we should take a pause here because we
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: only have a few seconds. We'll come right back with
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: You're listening to show. We're back with these barbecue grilling
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: tips from UNC and Neff all kinds of barbecue tips.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: You guys are giving us reub side down at two
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: seventy five, and I shut it okay. Fifty five minutes later,
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: come on, come on, I opened the lid and you
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: can start eating baby backs that fan. Yes, sir, Do
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: you ever refus in four? No? I do nothing. Okay,
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: you've seen that process though, right, I've seen there's nothing
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: wrong with it. You put them on. You can put
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: them on for about forty five, what about thirty minutes,
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: and then take them off, wrap them, put them back on,
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: and let them cook the rest of the way in
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: the fall. Yeah. See, I don't wrap my meat. Well,
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: is there a problem with wrapping your bead? I mean
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: sounds I'm just saying it ain't just say but it's
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: not the same. Come on, I felt like I was
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: going in the room where I but fifty five to
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: fifty seven minutes on one side. I never flipped the meat, right, really,
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: I never flip it because what happens is when you
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: cook it just bones side down, and you know, ain't
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: no meat on the bones side of the real seat.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: But what it does is it seals it real nice
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: and it keeps the meat real juicy because you put
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: a seer on the bone side and then the smoke
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: and my wood chips cooked the meat on the top.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: So why do people flip their meat? I mean I
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: see that. I mean my brother flip is me my
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: daddy flipps. I just don't. I just don't because it's
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: not necessary and you get you get a real tender
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: piece of baby back. I do this now. I'm telling man,
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: ask anybody that didn't have my reals. Now here's what
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: a lot of people don't perfect because now you did
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: turn me on the something that was good, that lump cold.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: I never knew nothing about that. That's the only thing
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: I messed with. That's that's uh, what's that? That's that's
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: like wood that's already been burnt before. Yeah, and it's
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: what they have. It's foor as fires. Yeah, all them
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: charred trees that's what it is. That's perfect for barbecure.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Lump cold. Central Market got hurt. I bet you a
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: lot of that was a little Central Market grocery store.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: It's made by Central Market. Well they bag it up,
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: is what I mean? Well, yeah, it's it's all the same.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: But green Egg has a good version. That's usually the
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: most burns. You know, because you could see some of
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: the wood and some of it. You ain't ever seeing
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: the green Egg shar the smoker, not actually green Eggs
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: and ham. Girl, this this, this is too much, not
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: only not cooked. She don't even know the brands of
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: appliance small green Eggs at the barbecue growing up. Oh
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: my gosh, upset though, that's what you're Thinkings and green
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: Egg All right, go on, Steve, Sorry, all right, So
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: we learned a lot grilling with Steve Man. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: Steven Tommy Tommy is a good grilling. Yes, give pray, sir,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: will be grilling this weekend. I won't be eating bad
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: boy out there on that grill. I won't be eating
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: red meat, but I'm gonna I'm gonna have salmon all
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: on it. Oh yeah, did you know that? See he
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: doesn't eat red meat. Anymore anymore. Now, do you make
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: your own sauce, you're own barbecue sauce, or do you
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: buy it? Or what? I got two barbecue recipes? Give
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: me one. There's a barbecue sauce called Old George Tet
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: just fine, Old George t barbecue sauce. Got an old
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: black dude. They got honey bourbon maple. I used two
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: bottles of that. Have you tried sweet baby? Ye oh?
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: I had plenty of that. But it's it's it's all right.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: If you want the best job barbecue sauce that you
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: ain't got to do nothing to William's brothers, William's brothers,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: barbecue sauce is the one where you ain't got to
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: do nothing to it. Okay, let me see. And it's
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: better than sweet Baby rays, I'm telling them. Okay, all right,

- 1:15:29Speaker 1: And now you want to cut the kick with a
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: little brown sugar? All right, cut that kick. It's a
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: little bit of brown sugar to taste, and then put
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: a little mustard in it. Okay, Okay, that was a
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: little mustard and a little brown sugar to taste. But
