Latest / No Latency / S2E122 - Last Words of a Wolfman
Transcript
- 0:02Last time on no latency. I'm actually a doctor.
- 0:06Forensic Ecology. A wolf.
- 0:07They are actually a doctor. Last we saw that wolf man who
- 0:10was out front. You did, yes.
- 0:12Did you hit? Your head on the way down.
- 0:13I should have spread my arms. I got wings.
- 0:15You got more sets that sent Coke.
- 0:17Did you know that there were bodies up here?
- 0:18What? The hell was in.
- 0:20Sir, would you mind just taking him?
- 0:23Can you speed up with us? I mean, was he maybe scared of
- 0:25the fireworks? Was this probably was a very fun
- 0:28party We should. Have got us credentials, you're
- 0:30right. Badge number douchebag.
- 0:31Do you all think this has something to do with?
- 0:33Yes, go ahead, because it does. This is what we're fucking
- 0:36starting around here. Yeah, we.
- 0:38Know, we know. Think I figured out his address.
- 0:40I think we need to break in. Seems clear.
- 0:42Was there somebody in there peeing or not?
- 0:44Keep your guard. The one we're looking.
- 0:46For the wolf, he's oh. Boy.
- 0:48He's dead. He's dead.
- 1:01Hold on, I should take a look. Wait, wait, didn't he kill me?
- 1:07OK. If he's dead, then who is doing
- 1:13all of the killing? Maybe he he might have just
- 1:17died. Let me take a look.
- 1:20Maybe he did a bunch of killing and and and died.
- 1:23Well, I mean, I'm, I'm pretty sure that his blood was the one
- 1:28was the same blood that was, you know, next to those victims.
- 1:32So somehow he's at least bleeding on all these people
- 1:38before dying. And that's the only other
- 1:42explanation I could think of. The role resists torture drugs.
- 1:47Oh. No.
- 1:49Medical Tech VV 18 Yes, you've rolled very well, Jeb.
- 1:53You start to knead and want to lick the blood out of the carpet
- 1:57in the living room. There's not a lot of it, but it
- 2:00does look relatively fresh. Do you?
- 2:03You have to actually you. You bend down on your knees and
- 2:05you lick it. One SEC, guys.
- 2:08Well, just just one, just one second.
- 2:09Oh, yeah. Oh, that's good.
- 2:14Now, an interesting thing has happened in this apartment.
- 2:17Both VV and Jeb have both rolled to inspect the remains of this
- 2:23man, and you both discover that he's not been dead for very
- 2:27long, maybe an hour. OK, that's OK.
- 2:35This is He's not been dead long. OK, so there, there we go.
- 2:42I guess, you know, problem solved, case closed.
- 2:47He went around, killed some people.
- 2:48They came over here and killed over and dad.
- 2:53Retro You find some scrape marks on the kitchen table and the
- 3:02open refrigerator. In the corner you find a can of
- 3:06Boost. It's pretty cool.
- 3:08Boost. Yeah, Nice.
- 3:09Iona, on the other hand, kick something on the ground, this
- 3:14small grey plastic oblong, it's got a few buttons on it and it
- 3:21sort of skids across the ground and as it hits the wall it makes
- 3:24a noise. Did he?
- 3:31Leave a toy on the ground. What the hell was that?
- 3:37What did it? What the fuck is?
- 3:39That how does that. What does it look like?
- 3:44Looks like a voice note taker. Oh.
- 3:47Like a voice recorder. OK, I pick it back up and I hit
- 3:52play again. Give me.
- 3:56Money choose my face cut some time away, The river says I
- 4:02might need some rest. I feel great, but you know, I'm
- 4:08so hungry. I'm going to find something to
- 4:14eat. Hungry.
- 4:20Well, what? What about cyberware was going
- 4:22to make him hungry? Does anybody know?
- 4:29Well, I mean, could have had a replacement stomach or screwed
- 4:35up neural link put in, but I'm going to probably bet that it's
- 4:41the mysterious concoction of something called Body Fuel Bites
- 4:47that makes people extremely. Listen, listen, Jeb, are you
- 4:51hungry? Jeb, are you so hungry right
- 4:54now? I mean, I definitely was hungry.
- 4:57I just, I just kind of sorry, got to be a got to be a carpet
- 5:03in my mouth. Oh yeah, I can see where you
- 5:05were eating carpet. I wasn't eating the carpet.
- 5:07I was slurping the carpet. I don't want the fiber.
- 5:11Apologies, I didn't. I didn't mean to use the wrong
- 5:14verbiage for. Your.
- 5:16Entertainment and enjoyment of eating already blood spilt.
- 5:21But but Arthur. Arthur didn't eat Jeb's blood.
- 5:26Well, it it's, it's possible Vivi at the scene, did it look
- 5:32like those bodies had been eaten or just torn apart it.
- 5:37It it was some of them were torn apart and eaten it looks like,
- 5:43but it was it was very feral in in nature.
- 5:48Did any of them have body fuel bite in their systems?
- 5:52I I don't think it did. They did, no.
- 5:55And then another question, does body fuel bite?
- 6:00Yeah, that's my question. When they exposed to air is it
- 6:04an oxidizer? Like say if you know Jeb bled
- 6:08out on the ground, is it still contagious or?
- 6:13Looking in my system here, do we have any record of this
- 6:18happening to someone who has been in a trial?
- 6:23Results Results for body fueled skin Skin revealed ravenous
- 6:28appetite. I did not like the skin
- 6:32iteration. Of body fuel.
- 6:35But we didn't. Get I own it.
- 6:36That's the that, that's. The one we gave Domino.
- 6:41Yes, it is. Wait you guys gave body fuel bad
- 6:46to domino? What if Domino's the wolf man?
- 6:50But but also that meant that Arthur didn't drink Jeb's serum
- 6:55or blood. No.
- 6:58Arthur drank Domino's blood. No.
- 7:02Why would you do that? I.
- 7:04Don't know, it was Phoebe's idea I keep.
- 7:07Asking that question every goddamn time.
- 7:10Well, I have to tell you, you were wrong then Retro.
- 7:15Oh, I was wrong. I was wrong when I was.
- 7:18Like, Oh yeah. Oh, my apologies for your
- 7:23rebranding of horrible drug that we've been seeing that's been
- 7:27rampaging around Night City since we've been to Goodstead,
- 7:31to Jeb and every other motherfucker we want to take us
- 7:34on. So hungry Jeb's not out here
- 7:37cannibalizing people. He's watching carpet right now.
- 7:40What are you? What are you saying?
- 7:41I don't see anything wrong with that.
- 7:43It's not hurting anyone. I'm confused.
- 7:46He's almost left us to die a couple of times because it can't
- 7:49control. Let's let's not be, let's not be
- 7:51loud while we're in an apartment with a dead body and a lot of
- 7:53blood. I'm sorry.
- 7:56Sorry, what we? Get up off the ground, please.
- 8:00I'm sorry. It's just, it's real.
- 8:02It's real tasty. I don't know what it is.
- 8:03Maybe it's because it also has somebody feel bad in it, but.
- 8:06Whatever it may be. It's oh gosh, does that mean
- 8:10that Jeb just consumed body for your skin?
- 8:14You can scan him for For the. For the purposes of this,
- 8:17though, no, not enough. Oh.
- 8:19Thank goodness. Vivi, would you mind doing a
- 8:22quick scan? Yeah, let me take a look.
- 8:24I just want to make sure that Jeb is not going to turn on us.
- 8:27I'm just going to go ahead and just pick Jeb up like, you know,
- 8:30a, a, a puppy that's eating. Something that I'm very.
- 8:33Strong. And just and just.
- 8:35No. No Bad Jeb, No.
- 8:39No, fine, fine Jays, I don't have anything nasty around here.
- 8:46OK. You can't just eat it off the
- 8:48floor jab yet. If you're going to have it, at
- 8:49least have it then. Something looks like fresh and
- 8:51clean scanning. Scanning.
- 8:53Well, I didn't want I wasn't going to start eat.
- 8:54My animal bite is is is is molecularly interlocked.
- 9:01Molecularly interlocked. What?
- 9:04I. No further body fuel bite
- 9:07infection can occur. Full human saturation detected.
- 9:11OK, Yes, that's what what that means is that a body fuel of any
- 9:16sort pass. This won't affect him, which is
- 9:20good. That's good, Vendel.
- 9:22Do we? That is good, Vendel.
- 9:24Do we have anything like that about full saturation in the
- 9:29notes? That was the, well, I mean,
- 9:32that's that's the theory that once you've taken enough of it,
- 9:35it, it basically doesn't leave you like Mercury, like ever.
- 9:41Sorry, Jeb. Wait, Mercury will never leave
- 9:44you. Unless it's in retrograde.
- 9:48How did you give? Money.
- 9:50So funny. Have you been reading my books?
- 9:53Yes, I know you have camera froze.
- 9:55That's bad news. I.
- 9:56See that That's OK. No, Jeb, I will knock radio.
- 10:03What? There's so many funny people
- 10:07talking I can't get back. To it.
- 10:10Phoebe, what you do notice about Arthur's body is he has this big
- 10:14metal wolf jaw that he had installed.
- 10:18Oh, that explains. Oh, this big, this big metal
- 10:24wolf. Jaw.
- 10:25Explains his wolf man behaviours.
- 10:30Let me take a look at this thing.
- 10:32And does this look like cyberwear?
- 10:33Yes it is cyberwear. You also notice it notice that
- 10:36he has Wolvers installed as well as some stuff done.
- 10:40He's had a lot of work done in a very short amount of time and
- 10:42the body growth has been quick but scarring.
- 10:45Wow, he's gone full wolf. You never got full wolf.
- 10:52Cyber psycho. There probably is some level of
- 10:55cyber psychosis as well in this given the nature of all of his
- 11:00installments. He owed money to the Maelstrom.
- 11:03That's what Detective Rothko said.
- 11:07He owed money to to Maelstrom which?
- 11:11But if he'd got the if he got, if he got the cyberware done
- 11:14after we gave him money and and you know, his weird infection
- 11:20that it would be difficult for the maelstrom to do it because
- 11:22they're dead. So he would have had to find a
- 11:24Ripper duck. Well, that is what the voice
- 11:28note said. You look at the voice note
- 11:31machine and you see that there are two more files on it.
- 11:33Oh. I've had something to eat.
- 11:42Maybe this jaw wasn't a good idea.
- 11:45I have these urges, I can smell them.
- 11:50I'm so hungry all the time. Why did they do this to me?
- 11:58The last one. Fought back.
- 12:02I heal so quickly. I need more cyber gear.
- 12:07God I'm hungry but I'm going to eat first.
- 12:11So hungry I'm going to go find something to eat.
- 12:19Why do you think? Why do you think he's leaving
- 12:22messages for himself? Because he's psychotic.
- 12:26Probably has something to do with the the radio drama that
- 12:30we're a part of. Oh.
- 12:36He's, I mean, he's also vlogging, so.
- 12:40Oh, it's a visual medium. He's a No, he's a.
- 12:43Creator Voice. Blogging.
- 12:44Voice blogging? Yes.
- 12:47Voice blogging. Yeah.
- 12:49OK, Yeah. Yeah, a garden cast.
- 12:52It's a garden cast but also crazy people record themselves
- 12:55all the time. Yeah, no, I was.
- 12:57I was sold on that as soon as Retro said something.
- 13:00It's narratively very useful. All right, let's let's listen to
- 13:06the third one before I really like finalize my theories.
- 13:11OK. You go to press the third one
- 13:15and it seems as though someone has tried to delete the file.
- 13:19The file is corrupted. In some form, although it is
- 13:23still it's not indexable currently.
- 13:27What does that mean? Not indexable.
- 13:31You need a nerd to fix it. Oh, I know one of those you.
- 13:36Going to call fresh. Well, I was thinking you first.
- 13:40You're here and available, are you not?
- 13:42I, I believe the voice in the sky, said nerd.
- 13:45And I'm not that. I'm sorry, do we?
- 13:49I I'm sorry, when we get down from the ceiling, it was me.
- 13:52I said it. We need to learn.
- 13:53I'll stop playing. I just didn't want to touch the
- 13:56carpet in case there's evidence. Fair enough when somebody's just
- 13:59vacuuming it up with their mouth, I would understand your.
- 14:01Your Jeb, you can stop now. That roll was long enough The.
- 14:07The roll shaking your head. No, no, you rolled resist
- 14:09torture drugs earlier and then I was like, you can now stop
- 14:12eating the carpet. I think you've got enough.
- 14:15Oh yeah, no, no, I have a I think I've I've pretty I've
- 14:18pretty much lapped up every last drop that good, good.
- 14:22Look how it. Took the refrigerator and
- 14:24there's just a beer in there. Oh well.
- 14:29Don't mind if. I do all right here.
- 14:35Let's let a professional fix it, not just a nerd.
- 14:41How about a professional nerd? Funny.
- 14:46Yeah. I'm not laughing at you.
- 14:49Roll for it. What do you want me to get on
- 14:53the ceiling and tell you to do it?
- 14:55Yeah, get get above me. I need I need somebody that
- 14:58actually like towers over me to get stuff done properly all.
- 15:02Right. Vendel jumps onto the dining
- 15:04room tape. Roll for it.
- 15:07Also, I have to roll athletics now.
- 15:09Oh. Shit, Vendel.
- 15:13Shit, Vendel. What, what?
- 15:15What? Oh, athletics.
- 15:17Oh. No.
- 15:20Your. Wheels that don't work on the
- 15:23carpet. They fall over and smack
- 15:26themselves against the vending machine, causing shit five
- 15:31damage. Something falls out vending
- 15:35machine. Doesn't do my arms.
- 15:37No, because we confirmed in the last episode that the vending
- 15:39machine is broken and gross, which is mildly annoying.
- 15:43True. I'll tell you what, I'll roll
- 15:44the roll the Schrodinger's cat dice.
- 15:46If we roll a cat, then I get something nice.
- 15:49I rolled a skeleton, I get fuck all.
- 15:52The. Crit award dice and if I get a
- 15:54crit award then then something does fall out of the vanilla.
- 15:58Fair enough. I got a 5 ow I.
- 16:01Hurt. Myself.
- 16:03But in the meantime, while all this shenanigans is going on,
- 16:06Retro does fix the voice recorder with a 27, and it plays
- 16:11the third and last message dated just a few hours ago.
- 16:18Someone's been following me. It's not the NCPD.
- 16:24They won't find me, The Ripper said.
- 16:30I should eat. Rest.
- 16:34He's at rest. But eat.
- 16:37I'm so hungry. Oh, oh more.
- 16:49I'm delivery coming. Hello, it's Arthur.
- 16:58Right. Can I help you?
- 17:02I'm a doctor. I'm here to treat you.
- 17:06OK, won't you come in? Would you like something to eat?
- 17:12No. But I have something for you,
- 17:18Arthur. You have something I want.
- 17:21Wait. This won't hurt.
- 17:24Me. Did we check to see how he died?
- 17:47Night City. If you look at a map of North
- 17:50America, somewhere on the western edge you'd see an inky
- 17:52black dot with fingers pressing into the side of the continent.
- 17:56That's where you find Night City.
- 17:58And somewhere in the middle of that inky black dot is a giant
- 18:01smoking hole, like the universe itself drew iron and shot
- 18:05straight through the city. Radiation turned the sky red,
- 18:09but our story starts a little further South in a dive bar the
- 18:14shortstop. Welcome to Night City and
- 18:17welcome to Cyberpunk Edge of Extinction.
- 18:22Infinite sided dice presents cyberpunk Edge of extinction a
- 18:25cyberpunk red actual play. Watch now at.
- 18:28Youtube.com. Slash at infinite sided dice.
- 18:32Catch you later tunes. Let me take a look, a closer
- 18:53look at the body and see what I can find.
- 18:58I'll do a little forensics check here.
- 19:05I should really like add forensics as like a skill 'cause
- 19:07I feel like we're often BB's often looking at dead bodies.
- 19:11Dead bodies. BB has a skill now of just
- 19:16forensics. Forensic Pathology.
- 19:18Yeah. That is, is that a skill inside
- 19:21my red? I don't.
- 19:22Think no. It's a damn skill.
- 19:24For everything else. Surprisingly, yeah.
- 19:27Medical Tech 23 While examining the body, you discover a few
- 19:32things. Your little device, as it scans,
- 19:35reads out a few results to you. Scanning subject is missing all
- 19:40blood, 8 to 9 pints are missing. Flesh is eating itself.
- 19:48Warning Warning, body will decompose in.
- 19:53And as it tries to give you a time frame, you watch parts of
- 19:57his flesh start to go grey and fall into him as his body starts
- 20:03to fall into dust. Your scan grabbing the last few
- 20:06bits of information and all that's left on the screen is
- 20:10that every drop of blood was insanguinated from this man.
- 20:15What a good word. And that without that blood
- 20:18there, the body fuel bite ate himself to dust.
- 20:25What? As the readout completes, what's
- 20:28left on the ground are a few bones and the connected pieces
- 20:33of cyberware around them. As bits of flesh slowly melt
- 20:38into this is. Like blackened ash almost some
- 20:40sort of like something ate him the the body feel bite like ate
- 20:48him from within. He had two puncture wounds on
- 20:51his neck where the blood was. Drawn OH.
- 20:56So he was desanguinated like a vampire.
- 21:01Drained him dry kind of thing. Well, the players don't exist.
- 21:06But didn't we hear a drill? I We.
- 21:10Did hear a drill I imagine. Somebody drilled him and then
- 21:12took all the blood because they wanted to.
- 21:16It's somebody. It's not.
- 21:18Those weren't drills. Those were cyber fangs.
- 21:22Oh God. Fires do exist.
- 21:24There's a well from what I remote well this there is a
- 21:28gang, a street gang called the Philharmonic vampires that think
- 21:35that they're vampires. That's actually you can and gang
- 21:40like like the maelstrom and all of that.
- 21:41There's the Philharmonic vampires.
- 21:43Those harmonic vampires. And they all like, think they're
- 21:48vampires and have like cyberwear that make them think they're
- 21:50vampires. But anyway.
- 21:52You have that thought VV, but then you think to yourself, none
- 21:56of them are doctors. Yeah, but this one said he was a
- 22:00doctor. OK, so I say I'm a doctor
- 22:05sometimes. Well, I was so.
- 22:09Or and and doctors can be vampires also, you know.
- 22:14People, while everyone has been arguing about this, Retro has
- 22:21now changed costumes. They are no longer a pirate.
- 22:25Retro always keeps extra costumes.
- 22:28They're now dressed in a a like Peach tan suit with a very nice
- 22:34tie and such, looking very dapper.
- 22:40Yes. Friends.
- 22:43Friends, please. Obviously we can tell here by
- 22:47what we've denoted from this that there is somebody who has
- 22:49come to the door and has caught our so-called victim in a trap.
- 22:56Obviously they were expecting somebody else to show up as they
- 22:59were saying as a joke of take out food.
- 23:03However, the person they were expecting did not show up.
- 23:05It was somebody else, somebody that was hungry, somebody that
- 23:09already knew the victim, somebody who potentially the
- 23:12victim had met before and probably was harassed, slash
- 23:16attended to by said, say, like a Doctor Who had already cloned
- 23:22himself into this person before. If I remember retro you said he
- 23:30was a mutant because he had his DNA change but clone works.
- 23:32Please continue. I like the bit.
- 23:36Now as one of my name of being Hercule Porois, I would deduce
- 23:44that it could be a strange rogue Ripper dock that potentially has
- 23:51mutated others by a via cloning of trying to create themselves.
- 23:55As we've already talked about this before, several weeks, if
- 24:00not a month ago, If I'm right, ma'am, was LVV.
- 24:05Med was help Evie. He's doing a whole stick.
- 24:11He's he's. Doing the Belgian guy.
- 24:16What Belgian guy? He said Hercules parrot.
- 24:23Yeah, that one. That does sound right, yes.
- 24:28And so we've landed on the fact that this guy was insanguinated.
- 24:35Desanguinated blood, sucked by a bunch of by a bunch of maybe
- 24:43doctors, but definitely cyber vampires.
- 24:46It sounds like one guy, but yeah.
- 24:48OK. That is correct, my lovely
- 24:51friend. It sounds like he has been
- 24:54drained of his blood, completely sucked off by this doctor.
- 25:00Oh. Phrasing.
- 25:03We were munching carpet and now we're sucking people off like I
- 25:07don't and. That's OK.
- 25:09Yes, yes. So my question is to the group
- 25:12then, especially those who potentially have already met
- 25:16with said doctor that has caused these permutations to before,
- 25:20where would they be? Where would they be?
- 25:25Because the other question that still leads for the motive, why
- 25:30did he come back to finish the job if that is that person, But
- 25:36it is all in just the theory at this time.
- 25:38So does anybody know where to find this fanged dude?
- 25:46That recording did we get trying to remember what he said in the
- 25:52recording, He said the other. He said this guy's name right?
- 25:55Awesome. Arthur.
- 25:58Do you think NCPD has a a comprehensive catalog of
- 26:05biometrics including voice? Or do you want to?
- 26:11Or do you want to just roll to see if you recognize the voice,
- 26:13Phoebe? I can.
- 26:15I would like to. Again, I think I have an idea of
- 26:20who this might be, but let's see if I can jog my memory.
- 26:29You listen to the recording. Rest, eat.
- 26:32Rest, he said. Rest.
- 26:35And as the tape continues, you listen to his madness overtake
- 26:40him. I'm.
- 26:40So hungry. This was just a little bit after
- 26:46he killed everyone at the hill view.
- 26:48And you hear a voice in the background knock again and the
- 26:52door open coming. Hello.
- 26:57It's Arthur, right? And that is the voice.
- 27:02I'm a doctor. I'm here to treat you that.
- 27:05Guy, the guy. Of Doctor Glass.
- 27:09Doctor Glass. That's Doctor Glass.
- 27:15Am I supposed to know who Larry is?
- 27:17I told you guys about him. Is he like a celebrity or
- 27:21something? Or he's the one that tried to
- 27:23clone himself a bunch. Yes.
- 27:26Oh. Yes, he's the the clone guy that
- 27:34Oh my gosh. That with the with the blood
- 27:36that secure for cyber rejection but he can't use cyberwear.
- 27:41Chubb, Remember when we all went and took out the Maelstrom
- 27:44gangsters and we found Mr. Mark Ziegler and a another person,
- 27:51which is what said Wolfman before.
- 27:56Yeah, yes, they're both dead. However we do know that the how
- 28:02the death of one of them was by a certain member of our group.
- 28:06However, this other one who was already going through the
- 28:10changes that Doctor Glass had befallen on them, was revisited
- 28:17by him only to now be drained of his blood instead of his typical
- 28:22conversion into another type of himself.
- 28:27So how long do we think that he has been watched by Doctor
- 28:31Glass? And why would Doctor Glass come
- 28:34back after potentially being known and sought out by this
- 28:40particular person if not the NCPD, if he had brought charges
- 28:43against them? What was that?
- 28:48What was that? Somebody knocking somebody
- 28:54there, turn off the lights. Hello.
- 29:00Hello, Mr. Right there. Oh, hello.
- 29:09I it's probably the landlord. Mr. Arthur, don't worry, it's
- 29:15not the landlord. Well, that settles that.
- 29:23Everybody rolls stealth, including Vendel, but not VV
- 29:26because VV is in the bathroom. Does it sound like Doctor Glass?
- 29:34Roll perception. Hello.
- 29:41Hello. Hello, Iona.
- 29:44You recognize the voice as Detective Roscoe?
- 29:48Damn it, it's Vendel. Detective.
- 29:54Is the night it is completely hidden, but also Vendel is now
- 29:59climbing on the ceiling and is looking through event at Roscoe
- 30:03and you can now see what he's doing.
- 30:05What is he doing? He's just standing there
- 30:07knocking, trying to listen at the door.
- 30:09Hello, Arthur. Arthur.
- 30:15He can't know we're in here. Arthur, I have somebody who
- 30:19needs to know you're OK. OK.
- 30:25Can you call? And he slips a card under the
- 30:32door and leaves because you all rolled incredibly high on
- 30:35stealth so damn. Good, good for us.
- 30:41I can't believe I did it. Retro.
- 30:46OK, he's gone. Oh.
- 30:47Sorry I forgot to put on The Voice, my bad.
- 30:50He's gone. He's gone.
- 30:51He's gone. OK, everybody, he's gone.
- 30:54Oh, that was close. I feel like that was the
- 30:56sneakiest I've ever been in my entire life.
- 30:58Yeah, you, you rolled A crit and said an eye.
- 31:00That was amazing, that. Was amazing.
- 31:01I was on the ceiling. That the voice from the sky.
- 31:03I didn't. Know you went.
- 31:05I know I was knight. I was.
- 31:06I was stealth. I was the knight.
- 31:08Yeah, I'm going to be honest, you guys, I, I feel like I was
- 31:10just kind of decently stealthy compared to you guys.
- 31:13I mean, I thought I was like blending into the shadows.
- 31:16I look around and I was like, where did everyone go?
- 31:20I, I, I, I went on. I went on the ceiling.
- 31:22That makes more sense when you drop down, I noticed, yeah.
- 31:27Retro is just nervously pacing in just one spot because they're
- 31:29still high on synth coke, so they just have all this energy
- 31:32and they. You've got about two hours left
- 31:36of your high. Actually, you've still got some
- 31:38time. Oh.
- 31:38Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 31:39Oh, yeah. Oh.
- 31:40Yeah. Oh yeah.
- 31:40Oh. Yeah, that's synthetic stuff.
- 31:43Yes, I would like to use my my increased in cognizance from
- 31:50this particular drug to try to see if there's anything else to
- 31:53deduce around here. Sure, Rob Perception.
- 31:57I've got a a better idea. Sure.
- 32:00Whatever you want. I'm going to roll dance.
- 32:05I shall deduce. You rolled a crit 25 and what
- 32:09you find as you you move around the room, you check the sofa and
- 32:14you find a 5 Eddie Bill. You check one of the cabinets in
- 32:17here and you find 30 scrap of just like stuff that you can use
- 32:22which you do actually need. So well done.
- 32:24And as you slam the fridge shut in a theatrical way, there on
- 32:30the fridge is a receipt for his cyberwear and the address of his
- 32:33Ripper dock. Well, how do you do?
- 32:36And look in loo? Look what I found, everybody.
- 32:41I found the address to that Ripper dock, one that we could
- 32:44go and visit and just see what poor Arthur's been up to.
- 32:48Well, it's an address, and we should probably get out of the
- 32:51apartment with the dead body. Iona, it's mostly dust now.
- 32:57There are bones here. That's true, we should get the
- 33:01fuck out of here. We should.
- 33:05Yeah, my faithful companion, Jeff, why, why don't you drive
- 33:08us to this next location, please?
- 33:11Well, sure, of course. All right, and I will make my
- 33:15way outside of the apartment, playing classical music as I go,
- 33:18because I think that's what makes me seem fancy.
- 33:22All right, great. Roll Roll me a driving check as
- 33:28you get in the van. Does anyone want to do any
- 33:31checks in the van before you arrive at your destination?
- 33:34Can I look up doctor glass? True.
- 33:41I am looking for residence and any articles related to doctor
- 33:52glass. How long I'm looking?
- 34:01At. As we're driving retro is also
- 34:07change the music style now to that of something of a royalty
- 34:12free mysterious on the on the prowl music to accompany us via
- 34:19the ambience. Let me know when you've rolled.
- 34:25Yeah, I was just thinking about what I want to roll, but I'm
- 34:28going to just. So many choices.
- 34:30There's so many choices. Education 20 Crit 25 Look at
- 34:33those crit in a row. Holy.
- 34:35Shit. 4/4 crits in a row, yes. So you that's.
- 34:39Fine, three of those were mine. Three of those, which is crazy.
- 34:43So well, wait, it's it's all coming down from here.
- 34:46You have a crit 25. And what you find out is that
- 34:51Doctor Glass has been working in night City for a few years.
- 34:55His blood is a cure for cyber tech rejection.
- 35:00And a lot of the elite use it. A lot of them will pay in humans
- 35:04because he needs their organs to replenish himself.
- 35:08His blood is. Humans is that?
- 35:10What he said, yeah, he needs body parts.
- 35:12So he will he will genetically modify the victims, random
- 35:17people that don't matter according to the corporate
- 35:21circles, and then harvest those organs from these people's
- 35:25bodies for himself. Just like cheapest creepers.
- 35:29While the computer is reading this out ionet you with your
- 35:33crit success, you can see Vivi's expression getting redder and a
- 35:39bead of sweat dripped down her brow.
- 35:44She looks guilty. Vivi.
- 35:48Vivi looks guilty. Vivi, what are you?
- 35:53OK, yeah, I'm just, I'm just thinking about all of this and I
- 36:06feel like I might be responsible for some of this.
- 36:10I mean, you are but. No, even even deeper than that.
- 36:16This, this Doctor Glass, he, he gave me a choice.
- 36:25And I I don't know if I made the right one.
- 36:28On that last line, you slide up outside of the Riffer Docks
- 36:34residence. Everyone looks at VV in silence.
- 36:41What you do VV? Well.
- 36:47When I was I, I told you guys about what happened with Doctor
- 36:52Glass and his whole, like, body, body replacement agenda.
- 37:00Right. Sure.
- 37:03When he he gave me this choice basically that I, if I could
- 37:09help him, if I had to perform a surgery on him to help him live,
- 37:15he would continue his treatment to save people at the cost of
- 37:22the heart of this guy Glenn. And so I made that choice.
- 37:33I took the heart of somebody and I administered it into Doctor
- 37:39Glass and let him live and continue.
- 37:42Vivi. Yeah, you can't you.
- 37:45Can't be responsible for the outcomes of a choice that you
- 37:50made without knowing all of the insurance and outs.
- 37:54You can only be judged on your actions based on the information
- 37:58that you had. Just because someone goes out
- 38:04there and does some pretty fucked up shit, I, I will admit
- 38:11you, you couldn't have known that you can't hold yourself
- 38:13responsible for something like that.
- 38:16Maybe I should have just let Doctor Glass just perish there.
- 38:23Yeah. But at the time, what the
- 38:25information that you had was well, like you said that he he
- 38:29was going to he was going to help people, right?
- 38:33That's what it seemed like. And I'm I'm a doctor.
- 38:36My my immediate thought is always to help as many people as
- 38:40I possibly can. It's one of those that help.
- 38:44The Hippo oath, yeah. The Hippocratic Oath, yes.
- 38:50I agree with what our audacious friend is saying here.
- 38:54You can't take a, a, a page against you.
- 38:58If they promised to use their curative powers to help those in
- 39:03need, those that can't afford such particular treatments, to
- 39:09to to save yourself and them not following through on the issue.
- 39:12You had made a deal and they went back on it.
- 39:14Yeah. Look at where we are now.
- 39:23Livi, if you look at how many deals there are made here at
- 39:27Night City with people that had good intentions to paved into
- 39:31this city of Dis, then you know, we wouldn't have what we have
- 39:36now. So the best you can do is just
- 39:38make up for, you know, the sins of those that have, you know,
- 39:43gone against you and that populace and make up for it.
- 39:49Yeah, I guess I just never thought I would be the one that
- 39:54would be the the good intentions Rd. to hell yeah.
- 40:05Sometimes you have to live with those choices and it just kind
- 40:11of sucks. Next to happen.
- 40:23Oh no, wait and see. Ends up blazing, as you've put
- 40:29it. We might want to do a more
- 40:31diplomatic approach, my friend. Trying to talk to them are.
- 40:36We taking a man? Taking him in a way or like to
- 40:38the police. The four hired detective.
- 40:41Have you seen Doctor Glass? I honestly think that.
- 40:44What happened with this guy? Honesty and directness are
- 40:47probably the best policy. That's what the kids are calling
- 40:49it now, the heat. Hello, Ripper, Doc Rudy.
- 40:53Everybody point and laugh at. Remy Well, well, well, well, I
- 40:56say, I say. Entourage best friends.
