- 1:42Speaker 3: Turn you probably got to turn the mouth, turn out
- 1:46Speaker 3: the word the mon look come come out.
- 1:59Speaker 2: You think that, Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody.
- 2:06Speaker 6: You're listening to the voice, Come on, dig me now,
- 2:09Speaker 6: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Okay,
- 2:14Speaker 6: I got something for you today. I'm gonna have a
- 2:20Speaker 6: conversation this morning about my understanding of grace now that
- 2:26Speaker 6: I've gotten older and I've come into a better understanding
- 2:29Speaker 6: of a lot of things I didn't know about when
- 2:31Speaker 6: I was younger. This is just my interpretation of grace.
- 2:36Speaker 6: Now once again, y'all listen to me. I ain't nobody's pastor,
- 2:42Speaker 6: I ain't nobody's minister. So you know, I'm pretty sure
- 2:45Speaker 6: you can go to church and get a far more
- 2:48Speaker 6: extensive definition of one I'm giving you. I'm just talking
- 2:51Speaker 6: to people. You know, Grace is this thing that God
- 2:57Speaker 6: provides for us. Grace is just things that you get
- 3:04Speaker 6: that's really undeserving, you know. I mean, I look in
- 3:08Speaker 6: my life as it is today. You know, Look, I
- 3:10Speaker 6: work hard and I have faith in God that I
- 3:13Speaker 6: do so things are going to happen in my life.
- 3:16Speaker 6: But the way my life is now, I don't. I
- 3:19Speaker 6: don't deserve all of this, don't. I don't look at
- 3:23Speaker 6: it that way. I have been the beneficiary of God's grace.
- 3:28Speaker 6: I have aligned myself in a position to accept whatever
- 3:33Speaker 6: grace God has for me, and it will be far
- 3:37Speaker 6: abundant and exceedingly in anything you could think of. His
- 3:42Speaker 6: grace supersedes anything you could possibly imagine. You know, the
- 3:47Speaker 6: goals that I set and the aspirations that I shoot for,
- 3:50Speaker 6: and the things that I have on my dream board.
- 3:53Speaker 6: I have the faith that God will give it to me.
- 3:55Speaker 6: But what He does with grace, he gives you far
- 3:58Speaker 6: more than that. He gives you what He he has
- 4:01Speaker 6: for you, not what you can see. You can't see
- 4:04Speaker 6: all he has for you. It's impossible.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Who are you?
- 4:07Speaker 6: How can you possibly imagine what he can imagine? How
- 4:10Speaker 6: can you possibly think? How he can think? How can
- 4:13Speaker 6: you possibly do what he can do? How can it
- 4:15Speaker 6: be that isn't a single mind living or a collection
- 4:19Speaker 6: of minds that could have thought of earth? What in
- 4:23Speaker 6: your wildest imagination could have made you think of Earth?
- 4:27Speaker 6: The stars, the heavens, the oceans, the galaxy, the constellations.
- 4:34Speaker 6: What in your mind? What in any man's mind? We
- 4:38Speaker 6: can point at it and analyze it, but we show
- 4:40Speaker 6: couldn't have thought of it. So come on now, I'm
- 4:43Speaker 6: talking about lining yourself up with God's grace, which he
- 4:49Speaker 6: will give.
- 4:49Speaker 2: To you if.
- 4:51Speaker 6: You want some of it now. But now his thing
- 4:53Speaker 6: about grace, it can't be bought. Could if it could
- 4:56Speaker 6: be bought, I'm telling you I would pull all the
- 5:00Speaker 6: money I have and dump it into grace, because, after
- 5:05Speaker 6: discovering what it is, it's this goodness that God shines
- 5:10Speaker 6: on you simply as a reward of some type for
- 5:15Speaker 6: his love for you and for you attempting for you
- 5:19Speaker 6: attempting to.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Do right, not because you get it right.
- 5:23Speaker 6: Because if He judged us purely on how we are
- 5:26Speaker 6: the right and wrong of it, we would all be doomed,
- 5:29Speaker 6: all of us, every last one of us would be
- 5:33Speaker 6: doomed because we all fall short, we all make mistakes,
- 5:38Speaker 6: we all sin, we all get.
- 5:41Speaker 2: It wrong from time to time, nobody's perfect.
- 5:44Speaker 7: Man.
- 5:45Speaker 6: Now I understand what my mother was saying about cleaning
- 5:48Speaker 6: the house. All I want is a little more grace.
- 5:52Speaker 6: All I need is a little more grace when the
- 5:54Speaker 6: last time you ask God for some grace. Now, I'm
- 5:57Speaker 6: not talking to you like I know everything. If you
- 6:01Speaker 6: just benefit from His grace what you already have. But
- 6:04Speaker 6: if you're not aware of it, you don't know what's
- 6:07Speaker 6: going on. Become aware of grace. Get aware of the
- 6:10Speaker 6: fact that God does things for you simply because He
- 6:14Speaker 6: loves you. He does things for you that you don't
- 6:17Speaker 6: even deserve. Somehow, you just wonder how you just got
- 6:19Speaker 6: over when you didn't even do the things to get over.
- 6:25Speaker 6: Sometimes you don't even know how you got that job
- 6:27Speaker 6: you got when you ain't even really do the things
- 6:30Speaker 6: to get your job. How you end up where you
- 6:32Speaker 6: are all the education you thought you went and got,
- 6:35Speaker 6: and hey, how you end up where you are today
- 6:37Speaker 6: in a much better position than your education could have
- 6:40Speaker 6: ever gotten you. That's grace. How I get every place
- 6:45Speaker 6: I am today. I didn't plan this, Man. If I
- 6:48Speaker 6: could have planned my life the way it is, don't
- 6:49Speaker 6: you know how'd have done it? When I was living
- 6:51Speaker 6: in that car if I knew how to do it. No,
- 6:53Speaker 6: I've benefited from his grace. I'm just a beneficiary of
- 6:59Speaker 6: his great race, of his goodness and his mercy. God's
- 7:03Speaker 6: goodness is better than your goodness. God's goodness is better
- 7:07Speaker 6: than your mother's goodness. It's better than your wife's or
- 7:10Speaker 6: your husband or your boo's goodness. God's goodness is different.
- 7:16Speaker 6: His goodness man covers some stuff you can't even imagine.
- 7:21Speaker 6: So why are you trying to put your life together
- 7:23Speaker 6: when the last time you asked him for just a
- 7:25Speaker 6: little bit of grace?
- 7:28Speaker 2: When have you thought of your life.
- 7:30Speaker 6: In terms of the grace that it has already benefited from?
- 7:34Speaker 2: Have you ever done that? Man?
- 7:36Speaker 6: Just thought about you know you hear songs like my soul,
- 7:39Speaker 6: look back and wonder how I got over?
- 7:41Speaker 2: That was grace, That's all I can call it. Now.
- 7:44Speaker 6: Like I said, you can go with church or somewherever
- 7:46Speaker 6: you want to, and ministers that the window at school
- 7:49Speaker 6: to teach this thing way better than me. I'm just
- 7:51Speaker 6: giving you from a layman standpoint. Man, have you thought
- 7:54Speaker 6: about his grace? Would you not bewalled to be a
- 7:57Speaker 6: beneficiary of His grace? With it not sitting now.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Check this out.
- 8:02Speaker 6: The better you try to do, the more grace he'll
- 8:06Speaker 6: give to you. Now that grace can't be bought, Like
- 8:09Speaker 6: I said, it's free. You can't purchase grace. But the
- 8:13Speaker 6: better you try to become the more the more grace
- 8:15Speaker 6: he gets to put your way. So man, just try.
- 8:20Speaker 6: Why don't you just try to do better? Look, man,
- 8:23Speaker 6: quit talking a mount I'm gonna start next week. I'm
- 8:25Speaker 6: gonna start at the new year. Now you not, Yeah,
- 8:27Speaker 6: you do that every year ever at the new year.
- 8:30Speaker 6: I wanna eat better at the new year. I'm gonna
- 8:32Speaker 6: I'm gonna go on, get in here and the new year.
- 8:35Speaker 6: If you're gonna do it, you're gonna do it now.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Man, you can. You're gonna do it nowing.
- 8:39Speaker 6: Stop trying do something, do it, stop talking about it,
- 8:44Speaker 6: do it now. The best way to benefit from his
- 8:46Speaker 6: grace is starting action now, n O W now right
- 8:53Speaker 6: now today. What you're waiting on, all you doing is
- 8:56Speaker 6: delaying his opportunity to bless you. You know, man, do
- 9:01Speaker 6: you know how many times we do that? We delay
- 9:04Speaker 6: his opportunity to bless us by not starting now. If
- 9:08Speaker 6: you gonna get healthy, why don't you start now. Now
- 9:11Speaker 6: you're gonna trip a little bit because the holiday's coming.
- 9:13Speaker 6: But you ain't got to eat bad all the time.
- 9:16Speaker 6: You could start eating correct today you could. You could,
- 9:20Speaker 6: and then guess what that could be? Some grace on
- 9:22Speaker 6: the end of that. I'm just giving you a little
- 9:24Speaker 6: cheap analogy. But do you feel what I'm saying to you?
- 9:28Speaker 6: Start thinking in terms of grace, what He has done
- 9:31Speaker 6: for you and provided for you that you ain't even
- 9:33Speaker 6: see coming.
- 9:34Speaker 2: That you know.
- 9:35Speaker 6: You keep calling them blessings, and I got that a
- 9:37Speaker 6: lot of it us all it is. But man, have
- 9:39Speaker 6: you thought about the stuff that didn't happened to you
- 9:41Speaker 6: you can't account for. For me, that's been grace and
- 9:47Speaker 6: I'm beneficiary of it, and that's available to everybody that
- 9:50Speaker 6: won't sung. Next time you're talking to him, just check
- 9:53Speaker 6: in with grace. See what that is. That's that's better
- 9:56Speaker 6: than money. You're listening show, ladies and gentlemen. Is here
- 10:04Speaker 6: another great day? Thank you Heavenly Father. I so appreciate it.
- 10:07Speaker 6: Man started my day off with gratitude. I'm spreading it.
- 10:10Speaker 6: If you get your gratitude together, it affects your attitude.
- 10:13Speaker 6: If your attitude gets affected this direct correlation to your altitude.
- 10:17Speaker 6: It's about them tudes, man, get them up, get them started.
- 10:20Speaker 6: It's gonna be a great day to day. I lived
- 10:22Speaker 6: my life with that expectation. I had a little moment
- 10:24Speaker 6: yesterday why I felt a little some kind of way,
- 10:28Speaker 6: you know how you just being human and you know
- 10:31Speaker 6: the principles of success, but somehow you just it's just
- 10:34Speaker 6: one of them days. And I was feeling a little,
- 10:36Speaker 6: you know, a little off. I wouldn't I was looking
- 10:40Speaker 6: at what was wrong, and I was so focused on
- 10:42Speaker 6: what was wrong that I had stopped momentarily looking at
- 10:46Speaker 6: my life and what was right.
- 10:48Speaker 2: But I got it back on track.
- 10:50Speaker 6: But I was in this little funk for about about
- 10:52Speaker 6: ninety minutes, and I remembered something that I read somewhere
- 10:56Speaker 6: like whenever you can't explain your emotion, if you feel
- 11:00Speaker 6: like a little foggy, a little darker, you feel like blah,
- 11:05Speaker 6: all you have to do is retrace the conversations you've
- 11:08Speaker 6: had with yourself the.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Fifteen minutes prior.
- 11:13Speaker 6: Go back to fifteen minutes prior, because your emotions, the
- 11:19Speaker 6: what you feel is actually a barometer of what you've
- 11:23Speaker 6: been thinking. It's like your internal thermostat. You are the
- 11:28Speaker 6: temperature gauge in your own life.
- 11:31Speaker 2: So what you have to do.
- 11:32Speaker 6: Is when you feel these little moments of darkness and
- 11:35Speaker 6: glooming and sadness and depression, all you gotta do is track.
- 11:39Speaker 2: The last fifteen minutes.
- 11:41Speaker 6: As long as you can track those last fifteen minutes
- 11:44Speaker 6: of thoughts, you can now explain your situation. And when
- 11:47Speaker 6: I started tracking that, I was just on a negative plane.
- 11:50Speaker 6: And so I went right back and put myself on
- 11:53Speaker 6: the positive plane, and I was able to self correct myself.
- 11:56Speaker 6: Now that didn't make the problem go away, no, but
- 11:58Speaker 6: the focus wasn't on the problem anymore. The focus was
- 12:02Speaker 6: on the God that has given me every solution I've
- 12:05Speaker 6: ever had prior to this. That right there changes everything.
- 12:11Speaker 6: I have no problem that's bigger than my God. Come on, boy,
- 12:17Speaker 6: once you wake up to that realization, you can get
- 12:19Speaker 6: on with it. That's how I'm opening to show this morning, Junior.
- 12:23Speaker 6: I love to say, what's wrong with you? Todavid. All
- 12:25Speaker 6: you're gonna ask me to do is explain it.
- 12:28Speaker 8: I mean, really, you should have just explained that, because
- 12:30Speaker 8: I didn't even think about that.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I got that same problem. Bruh, everybody has that problem.
- 12:35Speaker 6: It's not new to mankind to be human, you know,
- 12:38Speaker 6: it's nothing, nothing new about it. And we all have
- 12:41Speaker 6: those moments where we just find ourselves in a little funk,
- 12:44Speaker 6: a little bit of gloom. But if you retrust the
- 12:48Speaker 6: previous fifteen minutes of thought, there it is because all
- 12:52Speaker 6: your emotions are is a barometer of what you've been thinking.
- 12:55Speaker 6: So if you change what you think, if you change
- 12:58Speaker 6: your attitude, it affects your altitude. So I put my
- 13:02Speaker 6: attitude on a positive plane, and all of a sudden,
- 13:05Speaker 6: I felt better. So instead of looking at what I
- 13:08Speaker 6: didn't have and what was going wrong, I shifted my
- 13:11Speaker 6: thinking and I started focusing on what was going right
- 13:15Speaker 6: in my life, and I started thinking him for the
- 13:18Speaker 6: blessings that I had, and all of a sudden, what
- 13:21Speaker 6: I didn't have seemed so small in comparison to what
- 13:24Speaker 6: I had.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Oh, I mean.
- 13:28Speaker 1: You asked and answered your own question. Yes, better let
- 13:32Speaker 1: him use you a whole word.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I needed that myself.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Yeah you did. Coming up at thirty two minutes after
- 13:41Speaker 1: the hour, it's the nephew, and run that prank back
- 13:44Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening morning show. Time to start
- 13:49Speaker 1: your morning. Off now with the nephew and run that
- 13:51Speaker 1: prank back. What you got for is.
- 13:53Speaker 9: Nav The day's title is I love your wife?
- 13:59Speaker 6: I do.
- 14:00Speaker 2: I love your wife more than you do. Let's go
- 14:03Speaker 2: get Hello.
- 14:05Speaker 7: Hey, I'm trying to I'm trying to reach tree this track.
- 14:07Speaker 10: Who is this? Hey, Trey? How you doing? Man?
- 14:09Speaker 7: This is Milton. I work at your wife Teresa Milton. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 14:14Speaker 7: you probably heard of me before. I've been I've been
- 14:16Speaker 7: at the job probably about five years.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Now.
- 14:18Speaker 7: Chare she ever mentioned me?
- 14:19Speaker 10: No?
- 14:20Speaker 8: I don't, no milking. What's going on?
- 14:22Speaker 7: Everything cool, everything's good, Everything is good. Hey, listen, I
- 14:27Speaker 7: wanted to have a conversation with you. Man. I don't
- 14:31Speaker 7: really know how to spring this on you or whatever,
- 14:34Speaker 7: But like I say, I've been working at the spot
- 14:36Speaker 7: for five years and been going Teresa probably like around three.
- 14:41Speaker 7: I guess what I really want to say is that
- 14:43Speaker 7: I didn't I didn't gain some feelings for.
- 14:46Speaker 8: And whoa wolo?
- 14:50Speaker 7: Hold on man, helo?
- 14:51Speaker 11: Hello, you calling me and you're telling me right now
- 14:56Speaker 11: you have feelings for my wife who you work with,
- 14:58Speaker 11: and you because that is my wife, you have feelings
- 15:02Speaker 11: for my wife?
- 15:03Speaker 10: Is that correct?
- 15:04Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 15:04Speaker 7: You know it took me a while to come forward
- 15:06Speaker 7: and say this, but you know I'm mad enough now
- 15:09Speaker 7: and I feel like me and you need to talk
- 15:11Speaker 7: about it. Have you know your mind?
- 15:13Speaker 5: No?
- 15:14Speaker 12: No, I haven't.
- 15:15Speaker 7: You want your list. I'm just letting you know. Today
- 15:19Speaker 7: is the day that I decided I'm not caring this
- 15:21Speaker 7: weight on my shoulders no more. I'm getting it off
- 15:23Speaker 7: of me, all right. And at the end of the day,
- 15:25Speaker 7: I love your wife more than you do. What I
- 15:31Speaker 7: I love your wife more than you do.
- 15:34Speaker 11: Right, how long you've been loving with my wife? You
- 15:38Speaker 11: tell me how long you've been loved my How long?
- 15:39Speaker 11: How long you feel that you have been in love
- 15:41Speaker 11: with my wife?
- 15:43Speaker 7: I mean, I'm looking at I know, I know, I
- 15:44Speaker 7: know at least.
- 15:47Speaker 8: Does my wife even know this?
- 15:49Speaker 7: I mean, I'm sure she's aware of it to a
- 15:52Speaker 7: certain extent, to.
- 15:53Speaker 8: A certain extent? What house? How certain of the extent
- 15:55Speaker 8: are we talking?
- 15:56Speaker 7: I mean, you know, when we go to lunch together,
- 15:58Speaker 7: she you know? I mean, I'm sure you know, y'all, Yeah,
- 16:01Speaker 7: we're going.
- 16:01Speaker 8: To lunch together. How long y'all been going to lunch together?
- 16:04Speaker 7: Bro? We were going to lunch together at least at
- 16:06Speaker 7: least two and a half years. I mean, we go
- 16:08Speaker 7: to lunch together almost every day. When we might miss
- 16:10Speaker 7: the day. If she go with the girls and I
- 16:11Speaker 7: go with the fellas, so be it. But for the
- 16:13Speaker 7: most part, me and her, me and her pretty much
- 16:15Speaker 7: a lunch together.
- 16:16Speaker 8: Yead, I need a.
- 16:19Speaker 7: Brouh.
- 16:21Speaker 8: Stay the hell away from my wife.
- 16:22Speaker 7: Bro.
- 16:23Speaker 8: I needed to back up. Ain't no more because you're
- 16:27Speaker 8: to talk enough. You didn't talk enough. Ain't no more
- 16:30Speaker 8: in love, Ain't no more states. You need to stay
- 16:32Speaker 8: to back period, Stay the back, man. I don't want
- 16:36Speaker 8: to hear none of that. Nothing, nothing, nothing at all,
- 16:39Speaker 8: because come.
- 16:40Speaker 7: On, we don't let me listen. Listen, I know all
- 16:44Speaker 7: about you trade everything about it, all right, I already
- 16:48Speaker 7: know how you treat her.
- 16:49Speaker 12: All right. I'm hot.
- 16:51Speaker 8: I'm feeling like a strong tin station right now because
- 16:54Speaker 8: I really want to reach the phone and just some
- 16:56Speaker 8: break over neck right now. That's what I really want
- 16:58Speaker 8: to do. That's what I really want to do. And
- 17:01Speaker 8: what my wife talking about business outside of work, That's
- 17:03Speaker 8: what I'm.
- 17:04Speaker 7: Trying to figure out. Hey, all I'm saying is when
- 17:06Speaker 7: we go to lunch, she let me know how she's feeling.
- 17:08Speaker 7: She let me know what she's going through. She let
- 17:10Speaker 7: me know all that it. Stop.
- 17:11Speaker 8: Stop with that lunch, bro. I don't want to hear
- 17:13Speaker 8: another damn thing about lunch. Bro, ain't no more lunch
- 17:16Speaker 8: from here on out. Bro calling me talking about you
- 17:18Speaker 8: in love with my wife. Peop been taking what.
- 17:22Speaker 7: He's a Milton, I'm Milton.
- 17:25Speaker 10: So you at bro?
- 17:26Speaker 7: You man, man, listen, calm down with all that energy
- 17:31Speaker 7: you got going on like you're finna do something you ain't.
- 17:34Speaker 7: You're not me. Come down, you have nothing to work,
- 17:37Speaker 7: You're not You're not finna do nothing right right now, Brom.
- 17:41Speaker 7: My team's right now. That's where you are, right right now, Bro,
- 17:43Speaker 7: Right now. How about how about when you got laid off,
- 17:47Speaker 7: when you was off for six months and she was
- 17:48Speaker 7: carrying all the all the waiting, can all the fields.
- 17:51Speaker 7: You ain't.
- 17:54Speaker 10: All right, man?
- 17:56Speaker 8: You know I think you know everything. I bet you
- 17:58Speaker 8: know I got it too. So all you need to
- 18:01Speaker 8: know is all you need to know is right, get done, Bro,
- 18:04Speaker 8: You're done. Bront Come down.
- 18:06Speaker 7: Run it, bro, you know what what the milk?
- 18:09Speaker 8: While talking about that, he would the wife saying that
- 18:13Speaker 8: he'll love it. Talk about lunches, sot the hell up.
- 18:17Speaker 12: While we are.

- 51:57Speaker 1: live on the air, just like we're going to read
- 51:59Speaker 1: this one right here, right now, and you never know,
- 52:02Speaker 1: it could be yours. It could be yours, ladies.
- 52:05Speaker 14: Him is time for the Strawberry Later with my good
- 52:06Speaker 14: friend Shirley straw Berry.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Thank you, my good friend, Junior. Subject smoke and mirrors.
- 52:13Speaker 1: Dear Stephen, Shirley, I'm in a long distance relationship with
- 52:17Speaker 1: a man that my daughter hooked me up with. He's
- 52:19Speaker 1: a bodybuilder, and my daughter met him at her gym.
- 52:23Speaker 1: She said she was looking in the mirror working out
- 52:26Speaker 1: when he came and stood in front of her to
- 52:28Speaker 1: see himself in the mirror. She said, other than being vain,
- 52:32Speaker 1: he's extremely quiet and nerdy. He and I talked a
- 52:36Speaker 1: lot in the beginning, and it was fun to have
- 52:38Speaker 1: someone to talk to. I overlooked the fact that every
- 52:41Speaker 1: time we talked he was smoking weed, or had just
- 52:44Speaker 1: had some weed, or was planning to smoke weed at
- 52:47Speaker 1: any minute. After a few months of doing video chats,
- 52:50Speaker 1: he wanted to see me. I told him he could
- 52:53Speaker 1: come visit me at my house, but he insisted that
- 52:56Speaker 1: I come visit him, especially since my daughter lives in
- 52:59Speaker 1: the same city. He bought me a ticket and asked
- 53:02Speaker 1: me to stay at his house. I planned to stay
- 53:04Speaker 1: in his guest room, but I left after he told
- 53:07Speaker 1: me what he had planned for the weekend. As he
- 53:10Speaker 1: showed me around his house, I saw condoms on his
- 53:13Speaker 1: nightstand and I was totally turned off by the Florida
- 53:16Speaker 1: ceiling mirrors in his bedroom. He asked what I was
- 53:19Speaker 1: into sexually, and I was shocked because we'd never talked
- 53:22Speaker 1: about fetish's and role playing. He told me what he
- 53:25Speaker 1: wanted to do to me sexually, and he said we
- 53:28Speaker 1: could watch ourselves in the mirrors while we did it.
- 53:31Speaker 1: I got an uber right away and went to my
- 53:33Speaker 1: daughter's apartment. He hasn't called or texted me since, but
- 53:36Speaker 1: he told my daughter I am too shy and hard
- 53:39Speaker 1: to get along with. Should I explain the smoke and
- 53:41Speaker 1: mirrors to my daughter or let her keep thinking that
- 53:44Speaker 1: the breakup was all my fault? Please help? Who cares
- 53:48Speaker 1: what he says? That's what I say. Who cares? And
- 53:52Speaker 1: why do you feel compelled to tell your daughter anything
- 53:55Speaker 1: because she introduced you to this loser. That still doesn't
- 53:58Speaker 1: make you obligated. Not her business. You can just say
- 54:02Speaker 1: that it didn't work out and keep it moving. What
- 54:04Speaker 1: I don't get is why you didn't stay at your
- 54:06Speaker 1: daughter's house instead of what the man you hardly knew.
- 54:09Speaker 1: I mean, you say you're in a long distance relationship
- 54:11Speaker 1: with him, but you're not in it. You just talked
- 54:13Speaker 1: to this guy. You're not in a relationship with this man.
- 54:18Speaker 7: You know.
- 54:18Speaker 1: You only know a couple of things. About this guy.
- 54:21Speaker 1: One is that he smokes weed all of the time.
- 54:24Speaker 1: Your daughter's house would have been the choice. That would
- 54:27Speaker 1: have been a safer, smarter situation for you to be
- 54:30Speaker 1: in since you were traveling. And I'm glad you got
- 54:32Speaker 1: out of his house when you did, because that could
- 54:34Speaker 1: have been It could have worked out crazy for you,
- 54:37Speaker 1: It could have been dangerous. You don't know. Then you
- 54:40Speaker 1: get to his house and realized he only wanted sex
- 54:42Speaker 1: from you, and that's it, really, Mom. I think you
- 54:46Speaker 1: need to slow down, sis, because you don't know what
- 54:49Speaker 1: you want. I mean, you were insulted with the mirrors
- 54:52Speaker 1: and the condoms on the nightstand. I mean, he could
- 54:54Speaker 1: have at least put those up, but he didn't. You
- 54:58Speaker 1: didn't do enough homework or research this guy to know
- 55:01Speaker 1: what it was gonna be, what was gonna be waiting
- 55:04Speaker 1: for you when you got off that plane. You went
- 55:06Speaker 1: from video chatting with him, thinking you're in some sort
- 55:08Speaker 1: of long distance relationship with this guy, to staying at
- 55:12Speaker 1: his house. I mean it sounds a little crazy, and
- 55:15Speaker 1: I don't want you out here acting desperate in these
- 55:17Speaker 1: streets because this is what you can end up with.
- 55:21Speaker 3: Wall to wall.
- 55:22Speaker 1: Mirror's condoms on the nightstand and a man saying to
- 55:25Speaker 1: you that you can watch yourselves while you have sex.
- 55:28Speaker 1: What you don't even know him like that? Again, I'm
- 55:31Speaker 1: glad you left early. I hope you learned what not
- 55:34Speaker 1: to do in the future.
- 55:36Speaker 6: Steve, Well, it's a lot to unpack here, but really
- 55:40Speaker 6: nothing to unpack. This is a woman, and see, I'm
- 55:45Speaker 6: interested in what she's not saying, So let's go. I'm
- 55:48Speaker 6: in a long distance relationship with a man that my
- 55:50Speaker 6: daughter hooked me up with. He's a bodybuilding My daughter
- 55:53Speaker 6: made him at her gym.
- 55:55Speaker 2: She said.
- 55:55Speaker 6: She was looking in the mirror at herself working out.
- 55:58Speaker 6: He came sto it in front of her to see
- 56:00Speaker 6: herself in the mirror. She said, Other than being vain,
- 56:04Speaker 6: he's extremely quiet and nerdy. Okay, other than being vain,
- 56:10Speaker 6: he's extremely quiet and nerdy.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Do that make sense to you? Not at all. It
- 56:18Speaker 2: just don't go together at all.
- 56:21Speaker 6: Therefore, I think your daughter gave you initially a bad read,
- 56:27Speaker 6: but you took the time to start talking in facetimeing
- 56:34Speaker 6: and stuff, and you got an even worse read on
- 56:38Speaker 6: this guy. You said, he and I talked a lot
- 56:44Speaker 6: in the beginning. It was fun to have someone to
- 56:48Speaker 6: talk to. Let's stop for a minute.
- 56:51Speaker 2: What did you just say?
- 56:53Speaker 7: You heard it?
- 56:55Speaker 2: It was fun to have someone to talk to. Where
- 56:59Speaker 2: have you been here?
- 57:00Speaker 12: Well?
- 57:00Speaker 2: Have you been locked away? Have you been indisposed?
- 57:08Speaker 6: Have you been at a convent, have you been up
- 57:11Speaker 6: in the mountains at a retreat? Have you just retired
- 57:16Speaker 6: from being a monk in a Buddhist temple?
- 57:19Speaker 2: What did you get?
- 57:22Speaker 6: It was nice to have somebody to talk to. So
- 57:27Speaker 6: what she's not saying is she was lonely. I think
- 57:32Speaker 6: that's what the hookup was. I overlooked the fact that
- 57:38Speaker 6: every time we talked he was smoking weed or had just.
- 57:46Speaker 1: Or I lost he was smoking weed or had just
- 57:51Speaker 1: smoked weed, or was planning to smoke weed at any minute.
- 57:56Speaker 6: It didn't make no sense to me. Look the fact
- 57:58Speaker 6: that every time we people's smoking weed, I had just
- 58:02Speaker 6: handsome weed while was planning in the smoke weed at
- 58:06Speaker 6: any minute. Smokey the nerd that's vain, loves himself, quiet, nerdy,
- 58:18Speaker 6: hold weed all the damn path, all.
- 58:22Speaker 1: The time, all the time. That's all she knew about him.
- 58:25Speaker 1: All right, we'll have part two of your response coming up. Steve,
- 58:29Speaker 1: to today's letter at twenty three minutes after the hour.
- 58:32Speaker 1: The subject is smoking mirrors. We'll be back right after this.
- 58:38Speaker 1: You're listening morning show, All right, Steve, come on, let's
- 58:43Speaker 1: recap today's Strawberry letter. The subject smoke and mirrors.
- 58:48Speaker 6: Here's a woman who is obviously extremely lonely. Her daughter
- 58:52Speaker 6: lives out of state. Meets this man at the gym.
- 58:56Speaker 6: She was working out, looking at herself in the mirror.
- 58:59Speaker 6: He came as stood in front of her. They met
- 59:02Speaker 6: each other. She introduced him to her mom said, other
- 59:05Speaker 6: than being vain, he's really quiet and nerdy. That don't
- 59:10Speaker 6: go together. Vain people are very rarely quiet or nerdy.
- 59:15Speaker 6: Your daughter does not know how to assess people. You
- 59:19Speaker 6: meet the man, y'all get on the phone, y'all start talking.
- 59:22Speaker 6: He and I talked a lot in the beginning, and
- 59:24Speaker 6: it was fun to have someone to talk to.
- 59:27Speaker 11: What what?
- 59:28Speaker 7: So?
- 59:30Speaker 2: Who are you? It was fun to have someone to
- 59:33Speaker 2: talk to. Okay, now where you being lady?
- 59:38Speaker 6: I overlooked the fact that every time we talked he
- 59:41Speaker 6: was smoking weed or had just had some weed, always
- 59:45Speaker 6: playing in the smoke weed at any minute. Why is
- 59:48Speaker 6: the nerdy, quiet person that hard talk when you're smoking
- 59:52Speaker 6: that damn much. Yeah, and Helly might not be quiet.
- 59:56Speaker 6: He might just be sleepy a lot. After a few
- 1:00:01Speaker 6: months of doing video chats, he wanted to see me.
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: I told him he could come visit me at my house,
- 1:00:06Speaker 6: but he insisted that I come visit him, especially since
- 1:00:09Speaker 6: my daughter lives in the same city. Okay, that kind
- 1:00:12Speaker 6: of makes sense. He bought me a ticket and asked
- 1:00:15Speaker 6: me to stay at his house. I planned to stay
- 1:00:18Speaker 6: in his guest room. What ain'tybody flew you out here
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: for that?
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: All right? Who flew you out there to stay in
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: the guest room?
- 1:00:27Speaker 6: If you gonna stay in the guest room, we can
- 1:00:29Speaker 6: just stay keep on new these video chats, because at
- 1:00:33Speaker 6: least I can talk to you while we in his bedroom.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: All right, all right?
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: Ooh, hell I guess I'll come on and go to
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: the But I left after he told me what he
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: had planned for the weekend. As he showed me around
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: his house, I saw condoms on his knight stand and
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: I was totally turned off by the Florida sea and
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: mirrors in his bedroom. Well, I don't see what's wrong
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: with that. Yeah, daughter told you he was vain, vain,
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: he a bodybuilding. He got to see hisself when he
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: get up, but he has some other plans for you.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: You turned off by the floor, the ceiling mirrors in
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: the bedroom. I kind of like that myself. I don't
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: have it, but to me, he asked me what I
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: was into sexually, and I was shocked because we never
- 1:01:31Speaker 6: talked about fetishes and role playing. Well, but you have
- 1:01:34Speaker 6: talked about sex. See, that's what she didn't put in that.
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: Y'all just didn't discuss fetishes.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: In role playing but everything else.
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: Yeah, but you lying if you think all in video
- 1:01:49Speaker 6: chats and sex ain't come up, that's not true. He
- 1:01:55Speaker 6: told me what he wanted to do to me sexually,
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: and he said we could watch ourselves in the mirror
- 1:01:59Speaker 6: while how.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: We did it.
- 1:02:01Speaker 6: That's what the flow to see the mirrors is for.
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: That's what the condumns is on that table for. You
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: ought to see what's in the draws though, see, you
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: ain't even see that.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: Backs facts back, Steve Harvey.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: It's some stuff in that draws though.
- 1:02:15Speaker 6: I got an uber right away and went to my
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: daughter's apartment where you should have been in the first place.
- 1:02:21Speaker 6: He hasn't called to text me since then. Well, what
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: he gonna say?
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: So should I explain this?
- 1:02:34Speaker 6: Okay, hold on, he ain't called it text me since then,
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: But he told my daughter, I'm too shy and hard
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: to get along with. Wait a minute, this is the
- 1:02:45Speaker 6: quiet nerd that just told your daughter that you too
- 1:02:50Speaker 6: shy and hard to get along with. Your daughter has
- 1:02:54Speaker 6: a poor assessment of man. But like Shirley said, what
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: do you care what the hell he thinks or what
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: your daughter thinks? Yeah, let your daughter datim. She like
- 1:03:05Speaker 6: going to the jail. She like looking at herself in
- 1:03:08Speaker 6: the mirror. I don't really see what you want us
- 1:03:13Speaker 6: to do. So should I let my daughter keep thinking
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: that the breakup was all my fault? Please help? Just really,
- 1:03:23Speaker 6: you really don't have a problem. You're not going back
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: up there. You're not into fetishes and role playing. You
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: don't like looking at yourself in the mirror because you
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: probably get out the bed and you know, I'm like
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: cool walking towards it. But when you turn sideways in
- 1:03:36Speaker 6: that float the ceiling mirror, we can throw your ass.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Into something.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: So stupid. That's what she don't like that.
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: Did you be walking to me and be going all
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: right now? Then you turn to the side and you
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: it be like, you know, just creep out.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: It's just to.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: You know, shocking.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: It is shocking, and so that's what it is. And
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: so you know, I don't know what to tell you.
- 1:04:12Speaker 10: Lady.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: You really don't have a problem. I tell my daughter
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: the truth. Actually I flew out here.
- 1:04:18Speaker 6: We had discussed sex, but we didn't discuss fetishes and
- 1:04:22Speaker 6: role playing.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: Now obviously a big big boy over here.
- 1:04:28Speaker 6: Well, big boy wanted to put some straps on me
- 1:04:32Speaker 6: and have me swinging back and forth. And every time
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: I swung into him, you knew what was gonna happen.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Listen, leave your comments on Today's Strawberry Letter at Instagram,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: at Steve Barb FM and child.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: Sirsonally, I didn't think the swing was big.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: Enoughie, man, you're listening morning show, all right, Steve, come on,
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: you hired him, You hired him.
- 1:04:59Speaker 19: You ain't got to se saying ladies in general without
- 1:05:02Speaker 19: further ado a man that needs an introduction, because well
- 1:05:07Speaker 19: he's here, so seldom ladies in general.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Jane thinking Brown.
- 1:05:13Speaker 14: Okay, okay, I'm putting together first, I'm putting together my
- 1:05:19Speaker 14: own film. I've started production of my own film. You've
- 1:05:23Speaker 14: seen the Nutcracker. Everybody's seeing a Nutcracker. He finished with
- 1:05:27Speaker 14: production right before Christmas. The name of my film is
- 1:05:31Speaker 14: called The Big Black Nutcracker. We're gonna make it look
- 1:05:35Speaker 14: different than what.
- 1:05:39Speaker 12: You going.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: The Big, the Big Black Nutcracker. You know the story
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: of the nut Cracker, YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: We all know the story.
- 1:05:47Speaker 14: But this is she falls in love with a guy
- 1:05:50Speaker 14: who comes to it's a stripper. It's by the stripper
- 1:05:53Speaker 14: who falls in love with a guy who comes to
- 1:05:56Speaker 14: the strip club. And it goes by the name of
- 1:05:58Speaker 14: Big Black Nuts and to save the script club.
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: Now this is the what what is wrong?
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: I understand you. So, so we're looking for dancers.
- 1:06:09Speaker 14: We're looking for dancers we want and I don't want
- 1:06:12Speaker 14: to offend anybody about what I want. I don't, I don't,
- 1:06:16Speaker 14: I an't. I want fat people. I don't want overweight.
- 1:06:20Speaker 14: I don't want heavy set, shunky. I don't want thick.
- 1:06:24Speaker 14: I don't I want fat people because these are my ballerinas.
- 1:06:28Speaker 14: I want fat people, really fat. If you heavy set,
- 1:06:31Speaker 14: don't even audition because we don't want to be bothered
- 1:06:34Speaker 14: with you.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: We want your fat.
- 1:06:37Speaker 14: We want fat people that can stand on their toes
- 1:06:41Speaker 14: and catch other fat people.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: That's what I want.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: That's what I want to say for production.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's production.
- 1:06:49Speaker 14: Yeah, you know, because always got these little thin ass
- 1:06:51Speaker 14: ballerinas and that's good and that's nice fat people that
- 1:06:59Speaker 14: have no problem catching other fat people. And like I said,
- 1:07:03Speaker 14: if you overwegh it, you kind of chunky, pleasantly plump,
- 1:07:08Speaker 14: big bone, don't even bother.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: Don't bother sending me a tape.
- 1:07:15Speaker 14: Now, I want all production tapes to be sent to

- 1:07:33Speaker 14: gonna be playing the part of Baby Jesus.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Now I know what you're saying. The Baby Jesus ain't
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: in the Big.
- 1:07:39Speaker 14: Black Nutcracker, or he ain't in a nut Cracker, but
- 1:07:41Speaker 14: he's gonna be a Noos production because he said he
- 1:07:44Speaker 14: would do it, so I wrote him apart. So he's
- 1:07:46Speaker 14: gonna play the part of Baby Jesus. So check me
- 1:07:50Speaker 14: out the Big Black Nutcracker coming out around Christmas. Go
- 1:07:55Speaker 14: to Big Black Nutcracker. Send all your auditions there.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Listening Hard morning show. All right, so Tomikla in Baltimore,
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Steve wrote, I'm thirty two years old and I've been
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: engaged for four years. My fiance and I got into
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: an argument and he said he's in love with me,
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: and he's in love with my body, but he can't
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: stand me most of the time. He said, this is
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: why we can't confirm a wedding date. I'm glad I
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: finally know how he feels about me. Do I need
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: to pause our relationship if he doesn't like me? Our
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: love and lust enough for a marriage?
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: Oh no, no, no no no no, oh no no
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: no no no no no no no. Love is absolutely necessary.
- 1:08:43Speaker 7: Huh.
- 1:08:43Speaker 6: But if you don't like a person, come on, that's hot.
- 1:08:47Speaker 6: I don't care how good the sex is and how
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: fine your body is. If y'all get through having sex
- 1:08:53Speaker 6: and y'all talking and he don't like the person he
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: talking to, y'all don't need to get married.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: This is a dude. You know I love you, but
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: I don't like you.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: You gotta like the person. You gotta like man like him.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: You're with them twenty four to seven. You're with them.
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: You got to like this person. Man, y'all gotta watch TV.
- 1:09:11Speaker 6: Y'all got to ride in the car. Y'all got to
