- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know y'all back a suit, looking back to back down,
- 0:13Speaker 1: giving them like theming bu bu things and it's not true.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Good string to mother forty don't join. You gotta use
- 0:59Speaker 1: that turn you gotta turn to turn them out. Got
- 1:44Speaker 1: to turn them out, to turn the water the water.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Come come on your back. Uh huh, I'll show wid
- 2:04Speaker 1: Good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice, Come on
- 2:07Speaker 1: dig me now, one and all. It Steve Harvey got
- 2:11Speaker 1: a radio show. Okay. I want to share something with
- 2:16Speaker 1: you that I had to come to the realization one time,
- 2:20Speaker 1: and even in the reinvention of myself right now, I've
- 2:23Speaker 1: had to come to that and I want to share
- 2:25Speaker 1: it with you today. Give it to you. I want
- 2:28Speaker 1: to tell you about something that a lot of people
- 2:31Speaker 1: do in their life and I want you to be
- 2:33Speaker 1: aware of it. Here it is, don't get stuck on yourself.
- 2:40Speaker 1: You could be wrong. You know I said, don't get
- 2:48Speaker 1: stuck on yourself. You could be wrong. You know. The
- 2:55Speaker 1: reason I'm saying this is because people have a tendency
- 3:02Speaker 1: to once they make a decision about something, or once
- 3:06Speaker 1: they decide to go a certain path. They go against
- 3:10Speaker 1: all everything, anything anybody says, anything anybody might do, any
- 3:17Speaker 1: other ruling they may come across. They shun advice, They
- 3:24Speaker 1: don't listen to counsel. They just I made the decision.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it anyway. Don't get stuck on yourself.
- 3:37Speaker 1: You could be wrong, you know. Now here's a sure
- 3:40Speaker 1: fire way to tell if you're wrong. If you don't
- 3:47Speaker 1: see any movement in the direction you've chosen, if you
- 3:54Speaker 1: don't see anything going right in that decision, as if
- 4:01Speaker 1: you feel as though you're interrupt if the wall you're
- 4:07Speaker 1: climbing seems so insurmountable that you ain't even moving an inch,
- 4:13Speaker 1: and every time you turn around you keep getting knocked
- 4:16Speaker 1: by down, knocked back down. Don't get stuck on yourself.
- 4:19Speaker 1: You know you could be wrong, you know. See, that's
- 4:23Speaker 1: why it's important for people to always be open to
- 4:28Speaker 1: the reinvention of yourself. You know, you cannot be afraid
- 4:33Speaker 1: to reinvent yourself. In other words, you can't be afraid
- 4:38Speaker 1: to change. Change is necessary when it comes to growth.
- 4:44Speaker 1: There is no growth without change. The more you know,
- 4:49Speaker 1: the older you look, that is no growth without change.
- 4:56Speaker 1: If you're heading in a direction, it ain't nothing going
- 4:59Speaker 1: right in your life, it be the wrong direction. If
- 5:03Speaker 1: you're climbing and you're making no headway, could it be
- 5:06Speaker 1: the wrong direction? Could you have possibly made the wrong choice.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Don't get stuck on yourself because you didn't made the
- 5:13Speaker 1: wrong self. It's okay to forgive yourself. It's okay to
- 5:17Speaker 1: let yourself off the hook. It's even smarter sometimes to
- 5:21Speaker 1: admit that you were wrong. You ever met somebody ain't
- 5:24Speaker 1: ever wrong. Have you ever met somebody you talk to,
- 5:27Speaker 1: They ain't ever wrong about nothing. Man, They just it's
- 5:31Speaker 1: their way or the highway. It's this is my way,
- 5:34Speaker 1: this is the I know people like that, stuck on
- 5:37Speaker 1: them power trips and all like that. You know what
- 5:39Speaker 1: I had to learn how to do. I had to
- 5:41Speaker 1: learn how to let them go on them powered trips.
- 5:43Speaker 1: But listen to this. Though you're not taking me on
- 5:46Speaker 1: that trip. Though you're going on that trip by yourself,
- 5:49Speaker 1: I'm going in the right direction. I've decided to stop
- 5:54Speaker 1: the way. Okay, listen to this person. This person, I
- 5:57Speaker 1: decided to stop doing business the way I was doing business.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I decided to stop to allow business being done around
- 6:06Speaker 1: me the way business was being done around me. You
- 6:09Speaker 1: know what, you know, the best decision I made was
- 6:13Speaker 1: to allow for God to have some say so and
- 6:18Speaker 1: to offer me his direction. I have found him to
- 6:22Speaker 1: be a better driver than anyone else I know. I
- 6:26Speaker 1: have found him to know more about the man he
- 6:31Speaker 1: made than anybody else who's merely associating with me. I
- 6:36Speaker 1: have found it to be a fact that my maker
- 6:40Speaker 1: knows more about the vehicle he created than does anybody else.
- 6:45Speaker 1: If you if your Chevy break, don't you take it
- 6:47Speaker 1: to Chevy. You don't take your Forward when it break
- 6:51Speaker 1: down to a Toyota dealership. They not gonna know everything
- 6:55Speaker 1: that the Ford dealership would know about the vehicle. You
- 6:58Speaker 1: know why, because they're not the maker of it. So now,
- 7:02Speaker 1: why are you litting you letting your life being led,
- 7:05Speaker 1: controlled and guided by somebody other than your maker. I'm
- 7:11Speaker 1: just asking you to let's all take a common sense
- 7:14Speaker 1: look at this. So if going to your maker's the
- 7:17Speaker 1: best way, the best decision I made in my business
- 7:21Speaker 1: was take over my brand myself, and to allow the
- 7:26Speaker 1: maker of this brand see without God, I'm none of this.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I'm none of this. I want you to clearly understand,
- 7:32Speaker 1: I ain't none of this without him. I wish I
- 7:35Speaker 1: could have the guts to reach back there and pat
- 7:38Speaker 1: myself on the back for what I've accomplished in my life.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I wish I had the guts. I wish the nerve
- 7:45Speaker 1: of me because I know for a fact that there
- 7:49Speaker 1: is no way that I could have manufactured the life
- 7:52Speaker 1: that I have. I could not even have thought of it.
- 7:56Speaker 1: It's no way I could have told you that this
- 7:58Speaker 1: was the route I was gonna take, and this is
- 8:00Speaker 1: the outcome because of it. I had no idea, no clue.
- 8:05Speaker 1: The one thing I had, though, was an unshakable faith
- 8:08Speaker 1: in God. I had an I just kept believing in him.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I kept believing that he had something more for me.
- 8:19Speaker 1: And then when I touched base with him and asked
- 8:21Speaker 1: him to show me what it is what he had
- 8:23Speaker 1: for me, Tada, the magic show began. Because you know
- 8:27Speaker 1: what he did. He took all my natural abilities that
- 8:31Speaker 1: he had given to me, This gift that he gave me,
- 8:34Speaker 1: that he poured into me at birth, that same gift
- 8:37Speaker 1: that he poured into you at birth. The moment you
- 8:40Speaker 1: go to him and let him show you that gift,
- 8:43Speaker 1: and then guess what Once he takes what he naturally
- 8:47Speaker 1: put in you and put his super his superpowers on
- 8:51Speaker 1: top of that, then you have some supernatural things going
- 8:54Speaker 1: on in your life and you may not be feeling me.
- 8:57Speaker 1: I'm cool with that, but I didn't have some supernatural
- 9:02Speaker 1: things happen to me. Every day I wake up some
- 9:06Speaker 1: supernatural the man, the rewards of my life, the awards
- 9:11Speaker 1: of my life, the accomplishments, the how I'm working, the
- 9:15Speaker 1: how I manage it, all, all that ain't none but God.
- 9:18Speaker 1: That ain't nothing but God. You can't even explain this
- 9:21Speaker 1: schedule to people Sometimes when people ask me, Steve, how
- 9:24Speaker 1: do you do it? I go, well, it's what I
- 9:25Speaker 1: manage my time. Then at the end of when I
- 9:27Speaker 1: get through, I say, hey, man, you know what I
- 9:29Speaker 1: need to tell y'all for real, it's God. I don't
- 9:31Speaker 1: really know, but I'm letting him manage me. So he
- 9:35Speaker 1: handling it. He ain't gonna put no more of it
- 9:36Speaker 1: than I can bear. Listen to me, y'all, don't be
- 9:39Speaker 1: afraid to reinvent yourself and remember this. Don't get stuck
- 9:43Speaker 1: on yourself because you could be wrong. You know, you
- 9:48Speaker 1: absolutely could be wrong if you don't tie this to
- 9:52Speaker 1: your gift. You will be struggling the rest of your life.
- 9:56Speaker 1: You're listening to, ladies and gentlemen, Let's have it your
- 10:03Speaker 1: undivided attention. Get it together. Clap from me, so clap,
- 10:10Speaker 1: that's so clap now, sing from me, now, hum from me?
- 10:25Speaker 1: What's so fun me? Ladies and gentlemen, this is the
- 10:32Speaker 1: nutty Steve Harvey Morning Show, clapping harmy, whistling and saying, yeah,
- 10:40Speaker 1: Shelly Strawberry, I can't whistle anymore for some reason. Good morning, Steve.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Your eyes it's your eyes, Shelly, Close them and then track, Yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 1: close them and then try to whistle. Your body can't
- 10:53Speaker 1: have a bunch of stuff bulging out at one time.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I know you can whistle with those lips. Okay, let's
- 11:00Speaker 1: I can't whistle, you can. I can do way motor
- 11:04Speaker 1: whistle though. Hi. Colin Pharrell, all right there, good Monday morning.
- 11:10Speaker 1: What that means you wish? Junior? Good morning? Up morning everybody.
- 11:18Speaker 1: J Anthony Brown, what's good on Steve? Howday? What's happening

- 11:34Speaker 1: how is your weekend, but you didn't have one. So
- 11:37Speaker 1: on same another day, I got the quarantine blues. I'm
- 11:45Speaker 1: so tired of staying at home. I'm so tired of
- 11:50Speaker 1: being alone. Won't you help me, girl, just as soon
- 11:55Speaker 1: as you can. I just wanna go on a plane.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I want to go somewhere. Dun It, I go to
- 12:12Speaker 1: the stove, dun It. I'm tired of goal when dunn it,
- 12:17Speaker 1: I go to the park. But baby, where is Yeah?
- 12:26Speaker 1: You just sit there. It's just you're just sitting up
- 12:28Speaker 1: here and going straight nutty. Yeah. I do have a friend, though, Steve,
- 12:32Speaker 1: that's going to Vegas tomorrow. Okay, that's stupid. I think so.
- 12:40Speaker 1: And I love Vegas. I mean I understand wanting to go, yeah,
- 12:45Speaker 1: but I not yet. Yeah, how are they doing that
- 12:53Speaker 1: like every other gambling table? How does that work? You're
- 12:56Speaker 1: wearing masks? I do know that. It's not a commercial
- 12:59Speaker 1: where they at mak Son. Let me touch the chips?
- 13:02Speaker 1: How do you do it with your hands? But somebody
- 13:07Speaker 1: else hands was on that chip? Oh that, I'm gonna
- 13:15Speaker 1: have gloves on. I'm gonna have a restorate of mask.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I have an oxygen tank. I just have fresh oxygen
- 13:25Speaker 1: in my nose and the mask. All right, Uh, listen,
- 13:30Speaker 1: coming up at thirty two minutes after the hour, more
- 13:33Speaker 1: of them. We'll talk more right after this. You're listening
- 13:37Speaker 1: to show, all right? So, Steve, the other day you
- 13:42Speaker 1: told us that Marjorie does not like for you to
- 13:46Speaker 1: eat in bed, and as a matter of fact, she
- 13:48Speaker 1: doesn't allow it. So we have a question for you
- 13:50Speaker 1: this morning, and for everyone all the guys in the show.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Does your significant other have a house rule of rules
- 13:57Speaker 1: that are very serious and if you make them he
- 14:02Speaker 1: or she will kill you, not literally, of course. But
- 14:06Speaker 1: let's start with you, Steve, he got more, let's stay
- 14:10Speaker 1: with him. Yeah, let's start and finish with you. Steve. Yeah,
- 14:14Speaker 1: I know, I know for show, I can't leave that
- 14:16Speaker 1: damn toilet seat. That's automatic. That's yeah, that's death on
- 14:22Speaker 1: the spot. That's not even nothing new. A matter of fact,
- 14:25Speaker 1: I didn't even feel comfortable saying that. A lot of
- 14:28Speaker 1: that's that's that's very common. That's a house. But have
- 14:34Speaker 1: you heard he guys say, well, uh, you should put
- 14:38Speaker 1: it down, you know, look before you well, that's crazy.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I said that the last time we was in Africa.
- 14:48Speaker 1: You said what you said? What you said what she said. Yeah,
- 14:53Speaker 1: we was arguing about the toilet seat under mosquito Nick,
- 14:57Speaker 1: and I thought I was so sick of her talking,
- 14:59Speaker 1: and I said, I tell you what, next time you
- 15:02Speaker 1: go in there, you let it back up. Have you
- 15:05Speaker 1: lost your entire month? And how did that go that evening?
- 15:10Speaker 1: I don't. I'm telling fellas right now, don't say that.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I don't say it. Listen to Uncle Steve. I'm just
- 15:19Speaker 1: don't say that. Why can't we win that? That's not
- 15:24Speaker 1: it's no argument to win to because I gave up.
- 15:28Speaker 1: It's made to go down anyway. It's not made to
- 15:31Speaker 1: be up. Well, why is it going up? Hello? Hello?
- 15:36Speaker 1: I don't even know. I don't even understand why, why
- 15:39Speaker 1: to put it up? To use it? I don't even
- 15:42Speaker 1: get that part. What you want us to be on
- 15:44Speaker 1: the top o? You don't think. You don't know why
- 15:46Speaker 1: we got to let the lead let it up. It's
- 15:48Speaker 1: not that much when it's down, it's not that much
- 15:52Speaker 1: real extra room. You don't understand this aim at doing
- 15:55Speaker 1: them that ain't good. You don't know. You don't know
- 16:03Speaker 1: if you're gonna get some unexpected spray. You don't know.
- 16:08Speaker 1: You ain't never had you ain't never had a split decision. Yeah, hello, Yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 1: I know it's a mystery that will you go to
- 16:19Speaker 1: the bathroom in the dark and we start peeing that
- 16:22Speaker 1: don't hear water? You got am? I? Oh? Hell? And
- 16:30Speaker 1: I peeing on it immediate. I know I'm peeing and
- 16:35Speaker 1: I don't hear nothing. Have my PI on this road
- 16:41Speaker 1: and you can't find the light switch? Yes, oh, no
- 16:47Speaker 1: water ended. I've been standing that. I've been standing that
- 16:51Speaker 1: peeing and didn't hear no water and leaned over the
- 16:54Speaker 1: cut of the light switch on heat all over the glade,
- 17:00Speaker 1: air fresh he y'all on I was Washington, but left
- 17:16Speaker 1: but left the pet on the soap. I just didn't.
- 17:20Speaker 1: I didn't see it. It's real, so real that you
- 17:30Speaker 1: can you can wake up the next morning look at
- 17:32Speaker 1: the bath and be like God, but see Shirley and Colin.
- 17:36Speaker 1: See y'all don't have little boys. No, y'all didn't have
- 17:41Speaker 1: little boys. Now and I would quit asking why this
- 17:44Speaker 1: the toilet seat need to go up if you had
- 17:47Speaker 1: a little boy, I'm thinking, God right now, I had
- 17:49Speaker 1: a girl. Yeah, he ain't even I don't even think
- 17:54Speaker 1: we try. It doesn't sound like straight in the water
- 17:58Speaker 1: it doesn't sound like Uh, well that's true. Were the
- 18:02Speaker 1: wait until last minute? Anyway? Yeah? So as we're pulling
- 18:07Speaker 1: it out, is already p Yeah, yeah, none of these
- 18:13Speaker 1: are lies. I'm here to any of you in the way.
- 18:17Speaker 1: You in Trump man, I don't know. But if you
- 18:24Speaker 1: rap where I'm going, you're in Trump. I didn't know
- 18:29Speaker 1: it was all of this, did you girl? Y'all? Hall
- 18:32Speaker 1: a boy? No? But women, women can hold it better
- 18:37Speaker 1: than men. Yeah. And we can cut it off when
- 18:40Speaker 1: we're even Yeah, we can cut it off whole service. No,
- 18:45Speaker 1: I can't cut it. Okay, well, we can cut it off.
- 18:47Speaker 1: But I'll tell you what you know. You kid me
- 18:49Speaker 1: out your back. I clamped the shot if you want,
- 18:56Speaker 1: don't blow your kid me out your back. Good morning.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Ain't gonna believe you don't have to go to the hospital. Part.
- 19:03Speaker 1: What's wrong with Steve Sugar trying to shut it off? Now,
- 19:06Speaker 1: when you're a little boy, you can clamping shut. But
- 19:08Speaker 1: if you're grown man, you clamping shut, you're gonna go
- 19:11Speaker 1: to the hospital. You're gonna do ye. My little boy
- 19:14Speaker 1: cold he got them he got cold as is fit
- 19:19Speaker 1: to get that minted. Being about you guys, you're gonna
- 19:27Speaker 1: have a risk. You're gonna have a risk. Bracelet on this.
- 19:32Speaker 1: You got something with you, just so you know, just
- 19:34Speaker 1: so you know, we don't have We don't have to
- 19:37Speaker 1: cut off the little boys got and we ain't got
- 19:39Speaker 1: the speed they got. We ain't got none of that.
- 19:44Speaker 1: We might stand there by seven minutes. Who now they
- 19:52Speaker 1: got good nice stream pressure, push out everything good. Yeah,
- 19:57Speaker 1: we don't have that. It ain't the same force. It ain't. Yes,
- 20:01Speaker 1: I guess when I was a little block and push
- 20:04Speaker 1: your coke can up the street? Yes, yes, uh yeah, yeah,
- 20:09Speaker 1: I can write my name in the day. I go
- 20:11Speaker 1: to barn room night, sound like ice cubes going into
- 20:14Speaker 1: what say? Sweet? Really all right glad look at the time, Um,
- 20:32Speaker 1: look and listen. We want to hear from you. What
- 20:35Speaker 1: are some house rules your significant other can't break or else?
- 20:38Speaker 1: Go to Steve Harvey FM and all social media and
- 20:41Speaker 1: poster comment coming up next to nephew in the building
- 20:44Speaker 1: would run that prank back right after this. You're listening
- 20:51Speaker 1: to Steve Harvey Morning Show. Right now, it is time
- 20:55Speaker 1: for the nephew to run that prank back. Hey, nef,
- 20:57Speaker 1: what you got for us? All the pair it's out
- 21:00Speaker 1: there across America. This is for you. You are not
- 21:06Speaker 1: a good teacher. You're not You're not a good teacher.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Let's go cat. Hello, Hello, I'm trying to reach a Nikki.
- 21:20Speaker 1: How are you doing, Nikki? I am, I'm mister Daniels.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I'm calling from the E Learning Department. Hey, all right,
- 21:27Speaker 1: your daughter is is Jasmine? Correct? Sixth grader? Yes? All right?
- 21:33Speaker 1: And you've been um you guys have been corresponding back
- 21:36Speaker 1: and forth with Miss her teacher. Yes, all right, So
- 21:40Speaker 1: here's my I'm calling. Uh. Miss has brought some things
- 21:44Speaker 1: to my attention. Uh, Nikki, if you don't mind, who's
- 21:47Speaker 1: who's actually helping Jasmine with her schoolwork every day? What
- 21:54Speaker 1: a task? All right? So I hate to be a
- 21:57Speaker 1: bearer of bad news, but let me let you know
- 22:00Speaker 1: what's going on. No, that's not anything wrong with her
- 22:04Speaker 1: computer at all. I've spoken with Miss several times about
- 22:07Speaker 1: Jasmine and we've just bawled it down to whoever's helping
- 22:11Speaker 1: her with her work is just not doing a good job.
- 22:16Speaker 1: You should not be the person that's helping her with
- 22:18Speaker 1: her schoolwork. Okay, hold on, what do you mean I
- 22:22Speaker 1: shouldn't be helping her? That's my child. I'm saying, whoever
- 22:28Speaker 1: is teaching her is not doing a good job as
- 22:31Speaker 1: a teacher, you know, And this could affect Jasmine to
- 22:34Speaker 1: the point where from the looks of what I've seen
- 22:36Speaker 1: and what's been turned in, I truly don't see Jasmine
- 22:40Speaker 1: going to the seventh grade. I mean, this is this
- 22:42Speaker 1: is Is there anybody else there that can help Jasmine
- 22:45Speaker 1: with her work? No? She got what's wrong for her work?
- 22:50Speaker 1: Got to say, because I just taught to her, and
- 22:52Speaker 1: she could have told me this, what what what? What's
- 22:55Speaker 1: the subject? What's the problem? It's all yes, it is, yes,
- 23:02Speaker 1: it is. What's the problem? What's what's the problem? Get
- 23:04Speaker 1: me the assignments, because I'm I've been working with her,
- 23:08Speaker 1: so what's the problem. Everything is coming back. I think
- 23:12Speaker 1: the last paper I looked at she got a forty
- 23:15Speaker 1: five on it. I looked at some math work, it
- 23:18Speaker 1: was a sixty two. I mean, if you are the
- 23:21Speaker 1: person that's teaching her over there, you're just not good
- 23:24Speaker 1: at that, admitted, So you hold on and you can
- 23:28Speaker 1: get missing on the phone too, because I don't y'all
- 23:31Speaker 1: don't got my baby work? And then she got a problem.
- 23:33Speaker 1: You can come teach the child. She can open up
- 23:36Speaker 1: the schools and get them back, because there's no opening
- 23:40Speaker 1: the schools at this point. Right now, there's no opening
- 23:42Speaker 1: of the schools. So she got a problem. If she

- 24:33Speaker 1: being a mother, throw all these kids and my husband.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I don't have time for all of this. So if
- 24:39Speaker 1: the teacher, well, let me say this, miss Nikki. Let
- 24:43Speaker 1: me let me say this, Miss nick I don't have
- 24:45Speaker 1: time for a parent not realizing that they're not a
- 24:48Speaker 1: good teacher. I don't have time to that. Whoever, who

- 25:39Speaker 1: going to let you your daughter advance to the seventh grade.
- 25:43Speaker 1: That's you're right. I'll check it over. But y'all need
- 25:46Speaker 1: to go to che and if she's no, no, no,
- 25:48Speaker 1: no once once again, you checking it over is the problem.
- 25:53Speaker 1: You're the problem, sir, sir. If she got a problem,
- 26:00Speaker 1: once you got a mother pieces first, what's you gotta
- 26:02Speaker 1: go the first? Let you te to check the work.

- 26:32Speaker 1: me all this stuff you got to tell me. She
- 26:34Speaker 1: don't gotta hide behind you. She could call me directly.
- 26:37Speaker 1: So thank you. Listen days let me know. Oh it's
- 26:41Speaker 1: about to go down. I don't even dare. I don't
- 26:43Speaker 1: care no more. Just cool. If y'all got an issue
- 26:46Speaker 1: or the way I'm teaching, take your kids back, come
- 26:48Speaker 1: teaching the front yard. I'll open up my dough. You
- 26:51Speaker 1: could talk teth my child from my five You got

- 48:39Speaker 1: this truck. I got one more thing I need to
- 48:41Speaker 1: tell you, and I want you to put this in

- 49:36Speaker 1: when a child is raised by older people? Man? I
- 49:42Speaker 1: heard something so funny over the weekend, and so I
- 49:46Speaker 1: wrote them down. I came up with the top three
- 49:50Speaker 1: ways to find out if a child it's being raised
- 49:55Speaker 1: by old people. Okay, okay, what you got? He real little?
- 50:00Speaker 1: Now about seven years old? I can't okay, Dante, Dante's

- 50:49Speaker 1: How old are you ill be? Eight? Come next Tuesday,
- 50:52Speaker 1: Lord Willie? Yeah, ib eight, come next Tuesday, Lord Willie.
- 51:08Speaker 1: That's true that eight year old boy. They asked a

- 51:21Speaker 1: stay with his grandpa. All right, Thank you, Steve. That
- 51:25Speaker 1: was fun. Up next Strawberry letters subject, my husband's friend
- 51:29Speaker 1: can't stay here. We'll get into it right after this.

- 51:50Speaker 1: Let's go buckle up and hold on tight. We got
- 51:54Speaker 1: it for you here. It is the Strawberry Letter. Subject
- 51:57Speaker 1: my husband's friend cannot stay here. Dear Stephen Shirley, I
- 52:02Speaker 1: am a very happily married woman in my early fifties
- 52:05Speaker 1: and I have an issue with my husband's longtime friend
- 52:08Speaker 1: and fraternity brother. My husband's friend lives in another state
- 52:12Speaker 1: for work, but he loves to come visit all his
- 52:14Speaker 1: buddies in the city that my husband and I live in.
- 52:17Speaker 1: When he comes to town, he would take turns staying
- 52:20Speaker 1: at different friends' houses. His first visit to our new
- 52:23Speaker 1: home was earlier this year and he stayed the entire weekend,
- 52:27Speaker 1: and that was okay as a one time deal. Since then,
- 52:32Speaker 1: he started alerting my husband that he would be in
- 52:34Speaker 1: town and would need a place to crash. We're all
- 52:39Speaker 1: a tight knit group of friends, and I know he
- 52:41Speaker 1: wore out as welcome at another couple's home, so he
- 52:44Speaker 1: set his sights on our house. I told my husband
- 52:46Speaker 1: that I am totally against him thinking our home is
- 52:50Speaker 1: his weekend getaway. This put me and my husband at
- 52:52Speaker 1: extreme odds, and my husband told me that he feels
- 52:55Speaker 1: like it's not his home because I make the rules.
- 52:59Speaker 1: My husband claiming he's making up excuses whenever his friend
- 53:02Speaker 1: mentions he's coming to town. I think that my husband
- 53:05Speaker 1: is being absolutely ridiculous. We're adults in a nice new home,
- 53:10Speaker 1: not a frat house. His friend can easily afford a
- 53:13Speaker 1: hotel room every month, but he is too cheap to
- 53:16Speaker 1: pay for it. He'd rather stay with his fraternity brothers
- 53:19Speaker 1: than save his money. I don't mind if he comes
- 53:22Speaker 1: by the house to visit while he's in town, but
- 53:24Speaker 1: I do not want his company at my house every
- 53:27Speaker 1: other weekend. I love my husband and I don't want
- 53:30Speaker 1: to continue to fight over this, but I am very
- 53:33Speaker 1: firm on my beliefs. Am I being selfish? Please advise? No, no, no,
- 53:40Speaker 1: you're not being selfish, not at all. And that's coming
- 53:43Speaker 1: from a person who absolutely loves company. You guys know
- 53:46Speaker 1: how much I love company. But no, you're not being selfish.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Nothing you have said is wrong. No, your husband, your
- 53:53Speaker 1: house is not a weekend getaway. And yes, your husband
- 53:57Speaker 1: is being ridiculous. Your nice new home is in a
- 54:00Speaker 1: frat house. That's crazy. I mean, what do your husband
- 54:05Speaker 1: and his frat brother not understand about this? I don't
- 54:07Speaker 1: get it. If frat can afford a hotel room, then
- 54:10Speaker 1: frat should get a hotel room. If he can't afford that,
- 54:13Speaker 1: then he needs to stay at home. He's already worn
- 54:16Speaker 1: out his welcome with another couple that's in this tight
- 54:19Speaker 1: knit group with you guys. As far as you and
- 54:21Speaker 1: your husband and all this fighting and everything, your husband
- 54:24Speaker 1: husband should be happy that you're being very hospitable to
- 54:27Speaker 1: his frat. You're welcoming him into your home. You just
- 54:32Speaker 1: don't want him to stay there and make your home
- 54:34Speaker 1: the weekend get away. I don't understand what the problem is.
- 54:37Speaker 1: Your husband needs to grow up. He is now no
- 54:39Speaker 1: longer in a fraternity. You guys are in your early fifties.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Come on, Steve, lord, lord Lord, welcome back. Ain't this
- 54:48Speaker 1: woman to come back? Yeah? Well on, behalf of Tommy
- 54:53Speaker 1: and myself. We show hoping this ain't a QR cappel.
- 54:57Speaker 1: But it damn shows sound like somebody I know, Lord
- 55:04Speaker 1: Cheese father, God, Please don't let this be a queue.
- 55:11Speaker 1: I didn't say it's gonna be half of Tommy. Lord,
- 55:15Speaker 1: don't let it be a new please, Lord, but this
- 55:19Speaker 1: show sound like one of them. To me, let me
- 55:25Speaker 1: dig into this letter. One of my friend brothers is listening.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Will tag your answers it. Oh, I'm a happily married
- 55:38Speaker 1: woman in my early fifties and I got an issue
- 55:41Speaker 1: with my husband's longtime friend and fraternity brothers. See all
- 55:47Speaker 1: of the fracts that end in sigh, cappa alpha, si
- 55:53Speaker 1: and o't maga side fire that rhymes with sigh and
- 55:57Speaker 1: fi also rhymes with it to the Day I die Ka,
- 56:03Speaker 1: side to the day out, dow mega SACI fire to
- 56:06Speaker 1: the day out That So, now we fifty, we come
- 56:13Speaker 1: to town. Yes, he takes turns staying at different friends housing.
- 56:19Speaker 1: First visitor, I knew home was earlier this year. He
- 56:23Speaker 1: stayed then tire weekend and that was okay, but it
- 56:26Speaker 1: was a one time deal. Well since then he didn't
- 56:28Speaker 1: start telling his husband that he gonna be in town
- 56:31Speaker 1: and he needed a place to crash. Now you say
- 56:34Speaker 1: we all a tight nick group of friends. But he
- 56:38Speaker 1: didn't wore out his welcome out the other couple's house.
- 56:40Speaker 1: See they're tired of his ass. Yes, yes, see they're
- 56:44Speaker 1: sick and tired of his ass because it's different now.
- 56:49Speaker 1: So now he just said his house. I'm gonna get
- 56:51Speaker 1: into why it's different than a minute. I got some
- 56:53Speaker 1: funny stuff about this hill. But let me tell you see,
- 56:56Speaker 1: now he'd have said his house on set his side,
- 56:59Speaker 1: So in your house to prom she having is she
- 57:01Speaker 1: just said our new home. They had just moved in
- 57:07Speaker 1: and they've been working, saving their money like good folks,
- 57:10Speaker 1: got themselves together and got themselfs a new house. That
- 57:14Speaker 1: his ass comes now he want to call him and
- 57:19Speaker 1: he want to stay over there, and he got ran
- 57:21Speaker 1: out to other people's house. Now now I told my husband,
- 57:25Speaker 1: I'm totally gives him thinking our home is a weekend getaway.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Now you and your husband's at the odds. And he
- 57:30Speaker 1: told me that he feels like it's not his home
- 57:32Speaker 1: because I make the rules. What dog it ain't. It's
- 57:35Speaker 1: her house too, though, and if she make a rule
- 57:38Speaker 1: in the house, we can't break the rule. My husband
- 57:40Speaker 1: claims he's been making excuses whenever his friends mentioned he's
- 57:44Speaker 1: coming to town as you should. I think my husband
- 57:48Speaker 1: being ridiculous. Damn it, he is that his depart we're
- 57:53Speaker 1: adults in a nice new home. Correction, y'all ain't adults,
- 57:59Speaker 1: y'all fick. That's different. You adults when you thirty, hold on, Steve,
- 58:06Speaker 1: hold on you fifty, you fifty, stop saying you in
- 58:09Speaker 1: the dunk holds the damn near dead well. That part
- 58:14Speaker 1: two coming up at twenty three after the hours. Subject
- 58:19Speaker 1: of today's Strawberry Letter. Mind subject my husband's friend can't
- 58:25Speaker 1: stay here. We'll get back into it right after this.
- 58:28Speaker 1: You're listening show, all right, Steve, Let's recap today's Strawberry Letters.
- 58:34Speaker 1: Subject my husband's friend can't stay here. Here's this fifty
- 58:38Speaker 1: year old couple and bought themself a nice new house. Now,
- 58:41Speaker 1: dude got a frat brother that that don't like spending
- 58:44Speaker 1: his money, so he's staying there by the house. All
- 58:47Speaker 1: the frat brothers when he comes to town. Now there's
- 58:49Speaker 1: one couple and got sick of his hands and told
- 58:51Speaker 1: him he ain't coming over there normal. So now he
- 58:53Speaker 1: just set his sights on y'all house. Now the problem
- 58:56Speaker 1: is this couple and just bought the house because they
- 58:58Speaker 1: got a new house. So now that she just setting
- 59:00Speaker 1: up brother, now I'll now hear his ass car frat bro.
- 59:04Speaker 1: But this is different though. She says that the husband
- 59:09Speaker 1: is upset and saying that he feels like it's not
- 59:11Speaker 1: his home because I make the rules. What dog it
- 59:15Speaker 1: is her house. She get to make the rules, just
- 59:18Speaker 1: like you get to make some rules. But if y'all's
- 59:20Speaker 1: rules conflict the person to make the rule win, That's
- 59:25Speaker 1: just how I go. Man, Marjorie say, I can't eat
- 59:29Speaker 1: in the bed. Now this is my house. I make
- 59:31Speaker 1: all the payments around him. But her rule is you
- 59:34Speaker 1: can't eat in the bed. So guess what. I can't
- 59:37Speaker 1: bring no food in there. I bring it in there
- 59:39Speaker 1: if I want to, the whole whole lot won't be happy.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Don't bring it in there. I bring it in there
- 59:46Speaker 1: if I won't do Yeah, that's what you tell us. Yeah,
- 59:51Speaker 1: not only will you not be eating in the bed,
- 59:54Speaker 1: you're gonna be doing damn thing else. Yeah. Okay, So
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: my husband claims he's been making up excuse when it
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: friends mentioned that he's coming. I think my husband is
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: being ridiculous and he is because we're adults in a
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: nice new home, not a flat house. His friend can
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: easily afford a hotel room every moment, but he too
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: cheap to pay for it. He rather stay at his
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: frat brothers and say the money. Now. I don't mind
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: if he comes to the house to visit when he
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: in town, but I don't want to come to my
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: house every other weekend. And you are absolutely correct, lady.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: I love my husband. I don't want to continue to
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: fight over this, but I'm very firm on my beliefs
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: and I being selfish. No, you're not your husband is now.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I'm in a frat that we swear by or make
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: a sci fire to the day. I do. But you
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: can't stay at my house. Can't no frat brother come
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: and stay at my house? No, I ask me feel
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: how you want to feed all team? Dog team dog team?
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Not getting my house? We not I'm sixty two. You're
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: an adult. See I'm not an adult. I'm sixty two.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: I'm well pass a dulthhood. See you got you got
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: young adults, you got young adults. Yeah, you got grown
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: ass people. You got senior citizens, and you got old
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: ass people. That's how you break it down. I'm fighting it,
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: but I'm damn near one of them. Last. I'm damn there.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: Grown ass people, senior citizens, old people. So now let's
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: just be real. You can't stay in my house. And
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: you want to know why you can't stay at my
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: house because old people different than young guests. Old guests
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: is different from young guests. What do you see? Young people?
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: They go out and you gotta give him a key
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: to get back in. Somebody gotta be up there, gonna
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: rain the doughbell. They wear your asks when they come
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: to the house. Who is that downstairs? Maybe that's Pooky back.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: He got to get in three o'clock. Old people stay there.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: Old people sit around. Old people watch TV with you.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Old people want to change your channel. Old people need pajamas.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: Needed my feet cold? You got sicked, girl. You gotta
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: extra t shirt out down? You got a fresh shirt
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: I can wear. Now. You gotta do laundry. Young people
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: eat a lot of food. Young people just be in
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: there eating, eat anything, want to get pizza all that?
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Old people different. Old people got died to restriction, clean
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: stuff out the frigerator. They allergic to nuts. You can't
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: serve no dairy now they got gas because they laptose

- 1:03:24Speaker 1: he needs some monium ad to stop the die real.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: You're just all too much old people. Young people come
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: to your house down here? What temperature it is? Old
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: people want to be over that message with the thermometer
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: too wall in hill? It's too cold in hill? What

- 1:10:29Speaker 1: you do that? Yeah? Why would you mess up the

- 1:16:54Speaker 1: have some closing remarks for us. Don't go anywhere. We'll
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: be back at forty nine minutes after the hour. Right
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: after this you're listening to all Right, here we are,
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: last break of the day, Steve. Guys man, it's been
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: a good Monday. Yeah, it's a great week. Go to
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: vote dot org something. Are you all getting a sense
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: from people that you know that they are really angry enough,
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: that they're really engaged enough to want to get to
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: the polls? Yeah? I am, Steve. I am with the people.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: I'm not asking about you. I'm just saying in general,
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: what's what's the sense you're getting from people? They're excited,
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: especially with Kamala Harris being picked that really, you know,
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: took it over the top as well. People. Yeah, people
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: are fired up about voting. They really are. What I
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: don't see I still don't see that you fired up.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: I don't see that. I don't see the kids, and
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: I don't know when you're in the rust, I see
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: it from the you almost Well, then that means we
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: have to do more to convince them up. This is important.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: If that's not the case, those are the same kids
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: that were marching. They're going to vote, and people have
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: the attitude that it doesn't matter what you do. Trump,
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: we are going to vote and we're going to vote
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: you out. We're determined that you have gotten And he
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: knows us. He knows everybody is against him, everybody. I mean,
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: you got people who are on his side. But he
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: feels yeah, he knows. He feels that you're right, Jay.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: And I'll tell you what, Steve, he feels that I
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: hang around my friends, the frustration, you know, what drive
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: people to the polls or what? What? What issue are
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: they going to be voting on For my friends, it's
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: the pandemic. It's the fact that these children are not
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: in school has affected a lot of people. Unemployment, the
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: fact that they have to find childcare. I have friends
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: who are teachers who have to send their kids to
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: school because they have to go to school. Even if
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: the kids are online we're doing virtual class, the teachers
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: still have to go to work, so they got to
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: go to the class to teach the kids online. So
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: they send their kids to school. And you had no
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: plan for these kids. Nothing the lot of leadership. But
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: you know what, I think Carl is absolutely correct, and
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: that's that suburban mom crew that he's trying to desperately
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: appeal to. Now with the term with the scare tactic,
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: which is all he knows how to do, intimidation, devisiveness,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: scare tactics. He's saying that I'll keep your suburbs safe. Yea,
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: like those people that said those inner cities rioting and looting.
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: I'm the law and order president, and I'll keep your
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: your suburbans, your suburbs safe. Here's what mister living in
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: a bubble doesn't know. There are tremendous number of black
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: people that live in the suburbs a lot, a lot.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: That's not the fear. See, he's creating a fear. Nothing's
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: creeping into the suburbs. Wow, if you have crime in
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: your city, you have crime in your city. I just
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: think that. I think also that those young people that
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: were involved in that big drive for gun control, that
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: shooting that occurred down in Florida. Yes, those those children
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: are a voting age. Now they have not forgotten. They've
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: stayed in touch because see now remember back then it
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: was what are you gonna do about the guns? Partners?
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: And now it ever was a big fight. Well, all
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: that's diminished because what took over the fight was Corona
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: and then Corona came and allowed us to see Aubrey
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: and Floyd die at the hands of racist Ye. And
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: so now right that we came back, but those people
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: are still there and still angry and college absolutely correct,
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: absolutely correct. These people that are sending their kids to school,
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: and now there's one hundred thousand new cases in these
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: schools and children are going to ICU because you said,
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: if you don't open these schools back up, I'm not
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: going to fund you. You said that I'm gonna take
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: another area. I'm gonna tell you another area that he's
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: gonna have issues with two college university. These kids. I'm
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: gonna tell you something about sports kid. Yeah, Hey, I'm
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: a parent of an athlete, Tommy's parent of an athlete.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: These athletes who had no plan for these kids to
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: play in high school, college, their careers. These people, these
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: kids train a long time and you have nothing. They
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: can't and all he does distract and Trump has managed,
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: he has managed. He has managed to affect everybody in
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: a negative way. Yeah, everybody, everybody that way. Yeah, And
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: I'm not trying to be funny. Please don't take it
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: that way. But I want to know what your rich
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: friends think I do. That's well, I'm not I'm not
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: I'm really not trying to be funny. Corona has affected everybody,
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: the black, the white, the Asian, the Latino, the rich,
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: the poor, the have and the have nots. Corona has
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: been the ultimate equalizer because people with money have been dying.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: And so there is a concern. Now, rich friends that
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: I talked to, they can't stand Donald Trump, even the
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: ones who voted for him. I've had a conversation with
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: reached people going, yeah, I voted for him because I'm
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: a conservative man. I needed certain judges in there and
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: stuff he said. But the things he's done to this
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: country morally, they say, I'm not sure we can recover,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: and I'm not going to vote for this guy again.
