At 2:17 AM, forty-three-year-old Jay digs under his childhood bed and encounters Munch, an eight-year-old manifestation of his boyhood monster wearing an oversized 1990s Charlotte Hornets jacket. Through references to pop-culture films like Jack, Benjamin Button, and Big, Munch confronts Jay about his attempt to flee adulthood while drowning in the financial, physical, and emotional realities of growing older.
