- 0:01Good morning, everyone. This is Dina from Mentor365 Services Incorporated,
- 0:07and this is a continuation from yesterday.
- 0:11So we are starting Chapter 6, Protecting Your Peace, The Power of Boundaries and Balance.
- 0:18So welcome back to The Healing Mind.
- 0:20In Chapter 5, we talked about rediscovering who you are, reclaiming your identity,
- 0:28but knowing who you are and means protecting what matters most.
- 0:35That brings us today's chapter, protecting your peace, the power of boundaries and balance.
- 0:41Because peace doesn't just happen.
- 0:44It's something we cultivate, protect and defend.
- 0:48Not from a place of fear, but from wisdom and love.
- 0:54What it means to protect your peace. Good question, right? Protecting your peace
- 0:59doesn't mean cutting everyone off or living in isolation, you know.
- 1:04It means learning how to recognize what disrupts your inner calm and giving
- 1:10yourself permission to step back from it.
- 1:14Peace is sacred. It's your mental, emotional, and spiritual equilibrium.
- 1:22Think of peace as a garden. If you don't guard the gate, weeds of chaos,
- 1:28guilt, and exhaustion will grow.
- 1:31Boundaries are the fence. Not to keep love out, but to keep your spirit safe within.
- 1:40A lot of people misunderstand boundaries. They think boundaries are selfish, cold, or unkind.
- 1:47But in the truth, boundaries are acts of love, people. both for you and for others.
- 1:56When you set a boundary, you are not rejecting people.
- 2:01You are defining how you can best show up for them without losing yourself.
- 2:07Even Jesus modeled boundaries. He withdrew to pray.
- 2:12He rests when crowds follow Him. He said no when others tried to define His
- 2:18mission. If the Son of God practices boundaries, then we can, too, without shame.
- 2:26So from a mental health perspective, boundaries are essential for emotional
- 2:33regulation and burnt out prevention.
- 2:35They protect your nervous system from chronic stress.
- 2:39They help you manage anxiety, prevent compassion, fatigue, and avoid codependency.
- 2:46So here are the four core types of boundaries.
- 2:501. Physical boundaries. Respecting personal space, rest, and safety.
- 2:562. Emotional boundaries.
- 2:58Not taking on other people's emotions as your own. 3.
- 3:03Time boundaries. Managing your energy, not just your hours.
- 3:104. Spiritual boundaries. guarding your faith, values, and beliefs against manipulation or guilt.
- 3:19Each boundary type helps you honor your limits without losing your compassion.
- 3:26You know your peace is being compromised when you feel constantly drained,
- 3:33resentful, or anxious after certain interaction.
- 3:37Guilty for saying no or needing rest.
- 3:41Overcommitted to people who underappreciate your energy.
- 3:47Disconnect from your own goals or needs.
- 3:51These are not signs of weakness, people. they are warning signs on a dashboard of your soul.
- 3:58When they start flashing, it's time to pause and realign.
- 4:06In John 14, 27, Jesus said.
- 4:16Notice what he said, my peace.
- 4:20It's not dependent on circumstances, validation, or perfection.
- 4:25It's an inner stillness that comes from knowing who holds your life.
- 4:29The peace of God is not fragile. It's powerful. But even divine peace requires human participation.
- 4:38We must choose to protect it through boundaries, rest, prayer, and discernment.
- 4:46Let me tell you a story. The woman who said yes to everything.
- 4:50Maya was known for her kindness. She said yes to everyone, extra shift at work,
- 4:57emotional support for friends, volunteering, errands, everything.
- 5:01She told herself she was being selfless, but inside she was running on empty.
- 5:09One day she broke down in her car after another long day of people pleasing.
- 5:14Through her tears, she heard a quiet thought. You have mistaken exhaustion for purpose.
- 5:22That was her awakening moment.
- 5:25Maya began learning to say no. Not because she stopped caring,
- 5:30but because she wanted to start living.
- 5:32She began to realize that saying no to others sometimes means saying yes to peace.
- 5:39Health, God's voice again.
- 5:43Now how to practice healthy boundaries? Well, here are a few practical coaching
- 5:47steps to begin protecting your peace.
- 5:50One, name your limits.
- 5:53Get clear on what drains you and what renews you. You can't honor boundaries you don't define.
- 6:01Two, communicate clearly.
- 6:04Use calm, respectful language. For example, I can't take that on right now, but I wish you the best.
- 6:12Or, that doesn't work for me, but thank you for understanding.
- 6:16Release guilt. That's number three. Guilt is often a sign you are breaking old
- 6:21patterns, not doing something wrong.
- 6:25Peace requires permission, your own.
- 6:29Four, rest intentionally. Schedule peace like an appointment.
- 6:34Don't wait until you are burnt out to rest.
- 6:37Five, seek accountability.
- 6:41Talk to a trusted friend, a mentor, or a therapist who can remind you that your peace matters too.
- 6:50So, once a week, ask yourself three simple questions.
- 6:55This is a mental health practice peace check-in.
- 6:59What drained my peace this week? What restore my peace this week?
- 7:05What boundaries do I need to reinforce or release? Write them down.
- 7:11These reflections train your mind to recognize peace as a daily practice, not an accident.
- 7:20So this is a faith reflection piece in the storm.
- 7:23Remember the story in Mark 4 when Jesus calmed the storm.
- 7:28While the disciple panicked, he slept.
- 7:32He wasn't ignoring the storm. He just wasn't owned by it. That's the peace we are after.
- 7:40Unshakable peace. Peace that says, I may not control the storm,
- 7:44but I know the one who does.
- 7:48I'm gonna give you some affirmation to protect your peace okay
- 7:51my peace is sacred say no
- 7:55is an act of wisdom not rejection i release guilt and choose balance peace is
- 8:01my inheritance and i guard it with love now protecting your peace doesn't make
- 8:08you cold it makes you conscious,
- 8:12It's how you stay or stay centered in a nosy world.
- 8:18When you protect your peace, you protect your purpose. So breathe,
- 8:23let go what drains you, and remember, peace isn't passive.
- 8:28It's power in stillness.
- 8:32So this was chapter 6, guys. Protecting your peace, the power of boundaries and balance.
- 8:38In our next chapter, we will explore forgiveness and freedom,
- 8:42letting go without losing yourself.
- 8:44It's one of the most powerful emotional releases you will ever experience.
- 8:50Thanks again. Take care.
