Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Texas Democrats Flee State to Block GOP Redistricting Plan plus Banks Face Fines for Political Discrimination

- 0:01Speaker 1: Over fifty Texas House Democrats, including sixty two members total
- 0:07Speaker 1: in the lower chamber, have left Texas, traveling to Illinois,
- 0:11Speaker 1: New York, and Massachusetts. Well, at least they're consistent up
- 0:15Speaker 1: there being sanctuary states and cities. Why to deny quorum
- 0:20Speaker 1: and block a GOP back congressional redistricting plan that would
- 0:25Speaker 1: likely add up to five new Republican leaning US House seats,
- 0:29Speaker 1: That is the claim by Democrats and why they're now
- 0:32Speaker 1: fleeing the state now. This strategy mirrors previous walkouts in
- 0:37Speaker 1: twenty twenty one and in two thousand and three in Texas,
- 0:40Speaker 1: where the quorum rules were used to slow down legislation.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Governor Greg Abbott has now responded, issuing a three pm
- 0:50Speaker 1: Monday ultimatum for Democrats to return or face serious consequences.
- 0:56Speaker 1: He threatened to quote invoke a twenty twenty one Age
- 1:00Speaker 1: opinion allowing courts to clear seats vacant due to intentional
- 1:05Speaker 1: quote abandonment of office. He also could seek civil arrest
- 1:10Speaker 1: warrants for absent members, valid only however, inside of Texas,
- 1:15Speaker 1: which is why so many Democrats have fled to liberal states. Also,
- 1:20Speaker 1: he can investigate potential felony charges. For fundraising to pay
- 1:25Speaker 1: the five hundred dollars a day fines that are being
- 1:29Speaker 1: imposed by the House rules. Now, the Texas House passed
- 1:33Speaker 1: an eighty five to six vote authorizing the Sergeant in
- 1:38Speaker 1: Arms to issue civil arrest warrants for those that were
- 1:41Speaker 1: purposely absent. Now. Breaking quorum, by the way, is not
- 1:46Speaker 1: a crime, making extradition impossible. Abbott cannot legally compel lawmakers
- 1:53Speaker 1: to return from other states directly, is what is being
- 1:57Speaker 1: said now by Politico. Declarations of vacancy would require individual
- 2:02Speaker 1: court action in each lawmaker's district, potentially years of litigation,
- 2:08Speaker 1: and would delay redistricting beyond the December twenty twenty five
- 2:12Speaker 1: deadline for the twenty twenty six primaries. And that's exactly
- 2:17Speaker 1: why Democrats are playing this game. Texas Democrats maintain they
- 2:22Speaker 1: are quote standing up for democratic norms, not running away.
- 2:27Speaker 1: You can decide how ridiculous they actually are in your
- 2:30Speaker 1: own minds. But many of the representatives are now taking
- 2:34Speaker 1: more heat. Why because they are prioritizing the Democrats' agenda
- 2:41Speaker 1: over prioritizing flood relief. Yes, that was one of the
- 2:45Speaker 1: issues on the table that they're now fleeing from. I'll
- 2:48Speaker 1: give you just another example of also how many liberal
- 2:51Speaker 1: cities are helping them and states. The Illinois governor Pritzker
- 2:56Speaker 1: publicly back to the lawmakers' actions, calling them a courageous
- 3:01Speaker 1: defense of democracy and saying welcome to Illinois. Democrats are
- 3:06Speaker 1: characterizing the Governor of Texas Abbot's threats as quote smoking mirrors,
- 3:12Speaker 1: pointing out that constitutional tools like quorum breaks are legitimate
- 3:16Speaker 1: devices they say to use under Texas law. All Right,
- 3:21Speaker 1: I want to take a moment talk about the economy.

- 5:40Speaker 2: Now.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Greg Abbott, the Text governor, he's not playing around at
- 5:43Speaker 1: all with what the Democrats are doing. In fact, he
- 5:46Speaker 1: gave them a three pm deadline to get back to
- 5:50Speaker 1: the House chambers. The Democrats did not comply, And after
- 5:54Speaker 1: that he sat down with Sean Hannity on his show
- 5:56Speaker 1: on Fox News, and I want you to hear exactly
- 5:59Speaker 1: what the governor had to say.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Very latest from Austin is Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, Governor.
- 6:06Speaker 2: When I look, I have a whole sheet here of
- 6:09Speaker 2: every single Democratic state and it's just like the examples
- 6:12Speaker 2: I put up there. They have jerry mandered their states
- 6:17Speaker 2: left right, sideways. They're saying, well, they're going to do
- 6:21Speaker 2: to their states what you're doing in Texas. They already
- 6:25Speaker 2: did it in all of these blue states. Frankly, Republicans
- 6:29Speaker 2: should have caught up a long time ago.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Well, Sean, first of all, Texas is doing what we
- 6:33Speaker 3: are allowed to by the law. And one reason why
- 6:36Speaker 3: that law exists the way that it does is because
- 6:38Speaker 3: the Democrats brought a lawsuit after our last redistricting and
- 6:42Speaker 3: that decision, and that lawsuit came out last year, and
- 6:45Speaker 3: that lawsuit recognized that coalition districts are not required, and
- 6:49Speaker 3: so Texas has a right to readraw these lines to
- 6:52Speaker 3: fully represent the desires of every voter in the state.
- 6:56Speaker 3: But Sean, that misses the point here. The point here
- 6:58Speaker 3: is that Democrats have done something that's very untexed. They've
- 7:02Speaker 3: turned their backs on their fellow Texans. When it came
- 7:04Speaker 3: to a fight, they turn and ran away. Not just
- 7:07Speaker 3: from this redistricting fight, they ran away from dealing with
- 7:11Speaker 3: the flooding issues that they are still echoing across the
- 7:15Speaker 3: Curveville area. Families desperately need results from the state legislature
- 7:20Speaker 3: in this thirty day special session that are not going
- 7:22Speaker 3: to be delivered because Democrats are hanging out in Chicago
- 7:25Speaker 3: and New York and other places.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, let me run through the states. California
- 7:31Speaker 2: Republicans thirty nine percent of the House vote, but they
- 7:33Speaker 2: only have seventeen percent of the seats. Connecticut Republicans forty
- 7:37Speaker 2: percent of the House vote, zero seats, none zip Illinois
- 7:42Speaker 2: twenty twenty four Republicans. They got a pretty respectable forty
- 7:45Speaker 2: seven percent of the statewide vote, eighteen percent of House seats. Maryland,
- 7:51Speaker 2: one of the bluest states, Trump gets thirty five percent,
- 7:53Speaker 2: but they only have twelve percent of House seats. Massachusetts
- 7:58Speaker 2: again zero seats. Nevada is even worse for Republicans win
- 8:03Speaker 2: the state. They won the state House by ten points,
- 8:07Speaker 2: walked away with one single House seat in the entire state.
- 8:10Speaker 2: That's it. So this has been the practice of these
- 8:14Speaker 2: states for the longest period of time. Now they want
- 8:16Speaker 2: to attack you, and I'm thinking, Okay, what you're doing
- 8:19Speaker 2: is exactly what they did.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Well, and not even that sean To be honest, the
- 8:23Speaker 3: Texas maps are not going to be as extreme as
- 8:25Speaker 3: those other blue states that you talked about. But another thing,
- 8:29Speaker 3: and that is what Texas is doing under these new maps.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Four of the five new seats will be a majority
- 8:35Speaker 3: Hispanic seats. One of the seats is going to restore
- 8:39Speaker 3: the Barbara Jordan's seat over in the Houston area. And
- 8:42Speaker 3: so these are seats where Democrats are having to come
- 8:46Speaker 3: to grips with the reality, and that is they are
- 8:48Speaker 3: now losing the votes of Hispanics and black voters in
- 8:52Speaker 3: the state of Texas, and these districts are going to
- 8:54Speaker 3: show that Hispanics in Blacks as well as others are
- 8:58Speaker 3: voting for Republican and republic is their candadate of choice,
- 9:01Speaker 3: and we will ensure that will be achieved at the
- 9:03Speaker 3: congressional level. In the stead of Texas.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Well, certainly it should be somewhat proportional to what the
- 9:08Speaker 2: vote is. What is your response to Kathy Hockel who
- 9:11Speaker 2: says that we are at war over Texas and the
- 9:17Speaker 2: redistricting push that's going on in Texas.
- 9:20Speaker 3: There's a bunch of crazy bluster. Democrats are freaking out
- 9:23Speaker 3: because they are realizing Texas has the authority to redistrict
- 9:27Speaker 3: and we're going to do so in a way that's
- 9:29Speaker 3: going to lead to these additional seats that will vote
- 9:32Speaker 3: Republican and they will be serving in Congress in the
- 9:35Speaker 3: next session. And so Democrats are freaking out about it,
- 9:38Speaker 3: engaging in rhetoric, but I don't think they have the
- 9:40Speaker 3: capability of actually living up to it and doing anything
- 9:42Speaker 3: about it. Texas will continue to fight for what is right,
- 9:45Speaker 3: and that's exactly what we are doing.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Is it a fair statement to say that Republicans in
- 9:51Speaker 2: terms of the percentages and numbers that they have voted
- 9:55Speaker 2: have been unfairly cheated out of their representa. I think
- 10:00Speaker 2: that's a more fair statement.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Well, a different way to say it, and that is
- 10:04Speaker 3: at least in Texas about states, Yeah, and I'll talk
- 10:09Speaker 3: about both. In Texas, we are going to ensure that
- 10:12Speaker 3: voters are going to be able to vote for their
- 10:13Speaker 3: candidate of choice. For example, I think Donald Trump won
- 10:17Speaker 3: and all five of these seas that we will be
- 10:19Speaker 3: making Republican seats. The same thing should apply in all
- 10:22Speaker 3: those other states. Sean that you mentioned in your monologue
- 10:25Speaker 3: where you pointed out the gross jurymandering in these blue
- 10:29Speaker 3: states have rejected Republican candidates for office that should be
- 10:34Speaker 3: serving those states, should be serving our country. It's the
- 10:37Speaker 3: jerrymandering in the blue states that has started the politics
- 10:40Speaker 3: in America.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Yeah. If you want to know who's actually jerrymandering in
- 10:43Speaker 1: this country, it's clearly Democrats in all of the Democratic
- 10:47Speaker 1: states that were mentioned there. In a major move to
- 10:51Speaker 1: protect all Americans, the White House were now being told
- 10:55Speaker 1: is preparing a new executive order that would find banks, small, medium,
- 11:02Speaker 1: and the largest for dropping customers for political reasons. The
- 11:07Speaker 1: Wall Street Journal is reporting on it now. The order
- 11:11Speaker 1: directs bank regulators to investigate whether any financial institutions might
- 11:17Speaker 1: have violated the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, antitrust laws, or
- 11:23Speaker 1: consumer financial protection laws, the Journal reported, citing a draft
- 11:27Speaker 1: text of the order. The order, which could be signed
- 11:31Speaker 1: as early as this week, provides for monetary penalties, consent decrees,
- 11:38Speaker 1: or other disciplinary measures against violators. The order also directs
- 11:43Speaker 1: regulators to strike policies they have that might have contributed
- 11:48Speaker 1: to banks dropping certain customers, and requires the Small Business
- 11:52Speaker 1: Association to review the practices of banks that guarantee the
- 11:57Speaker 1: agency's loans out This is a major move for protecting
- 12:04Speaker 1: specifically conservatives that have been debanked by large banks and
- 12:09Speaker 1: small banks alike. There are many in the Second Amendment
- 12:13Speaker 1: community that have also been debanked as well. There are
- 12:16Speaker 1: Christian organizations that have been debanked, missionary organizations that have
- 12:22Speaker 1: been debanked, and Conservative organizations that have been debanked, especially
- 12:28Speaker 1: during the Biden years. Now the President saying you can't
- 12:32Speaker 1: do that. It's un American and we're not going to
- 12:36Speaker 1: allow it to stand now. Reuters is also reporting at
- 12:39Speaker 1: this hour that the White House is apparently working on
- 12:43Speaker 1: this at a rapid pace because they believe it is
- 12:47Speaker 1: time to hold banks accountable that targeted people specifically for
- 12:52Speaker 1: their political beliefs. Now, after speaking with people at the
- 12:56Speaker 1: White House late this afternoon, here's what I can also
- 12:59Speaker 1: tell you. The White House, I've been told, is in
- 13:02Speaker 1: fact preparing an executive order that would empower the regulators
- 13:06Speaker 1: to penalize banks for quote, terminating customer relationships based on
- 13:12Speaker 1: political beliefs. These penalties could include hefty fines, I'm being told,
- 13:18Speaker 1: and also disciplinary actions. Now, financial regulators would be instructed
- 13:24Speaker 1: to investigate potential breaches not only the Equal Credit Opportunity
- 13:29Speaker 1: Act I mentioned earlier and antitrust laws, but also consumer
- 13:32Speaker 1: protection regulations by banks accused of politically motivated actions against
- 13:39Speaker 1: those who had bank accounts at their bank. The draft
- 13:42Speaker 1: order also calls on policymakers to revoke existing internal bank
- 13:48Speaker 1: policies that actually may have led to politically motivated account closures,
- 13:53Speaker 1: and directs the Small Business Administration to review loan back
- 13:58Speaker 1: practices that could involve similar issues as well. Now, although
- 14:02Speaker 1: no banks are mentioned by name, the order appears tied
- 14:07Speaker 1: to public criticism of major institutions such as JP, Morgan Chase,
- 14:13Speaker 1: and Bank of America accused of severing ties with conservative clients,
- 14:19Speaker 1: a charge that of course they strongly deny, and the
- 14:22Speaker 1: Wall Street Journal has reported on this extensively recently. Now,
- 14:26Speaker 1: according to others, the order could be signed, like I
- 14:30Speaker 1: said this week, potentially spelling major trouble for big banks. Now,
- 14:36Speaker 1: this move reflects Donald Trump's ongoing concern, especially from conservative circles,
- 14:43Speaker 1: about political bias or debanking and financial services. It forms
- 14:47Speaker 1: part of a broader regulatory agenda to ensure economic institutions
- 14:52Speaker 1: remain neutral and customers aren't penalized for political beliefs. At
- 14:58Speaker 1: the end of the day, the President of the United
- 14:59Speaker 1: States to America wants to make sure you're not targeted
- 15:02Speaker 1: because you voted for him, and in the future, to
- 15:06Speaker 1: make sure that no matter who you vote for, you're
- 15:08Speaker 1: not targeted by a bank. Now, the order has not
- 15:12Speaker 1: been officially issued yet, and there's a very good chance
- 15:15Speaker 1: there will be changes that are made in the coming
- 15:18Speaker 1: days and hours. Banks and regulators also are remaining relatively quiet,
- 15:25Speaker 1: and the White House is saying they're willing to talk,
- 15:28Speaker 1: but there's many that are scared what may be coming
- 15:31Speaker 1: down the pipeline. And the big question is this which
- 15:35Speaker 1: agencies are actually going to lead enforcement oversight I'm being
- 15:40Speaker 1: told is likely going to be by federal banking regulators,
- 15:43Speaker 1: the Department of Justice, and the SPA. Implementation details are
- 15:49Speaker 1: going to work through the White House and the hours
- 15:52Speaker 1: and days ahead at the end of the day. What
- 15:55Speaker 1: does this mean, Well, it means that Donald Trump's looking
- 15:58Speaker 1: out for conservatives that had been targeted solely because of
- 16:02Speaker 1: our political beliefs, and that's exactly why so many Americans
- 16:06Speaker 1: voted for him.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Now.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Donald Trump has also talked a lot recently about many
- 16:12Speaker 1: concerts being debanked At the World Economic Forum and Davos.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Back in January, Trump addressed the CEOs of the largest
- 16:19Speaker 1: US banks and made it clear he called out Bank
- 16:23Speaker 1: of America CEO Brian Mornihan and indirectly JP Morgan's Jamie
- 16:28Speaker 1: Diamond saying, quote, many concertis complained that the banks are
- 16:33Speaker 1: not allowing them to do business. You've done a fantastic job,
- 16:37Speaker 1: but I hope you start opening your banks to conservatives
- 16:40Speaker 1: because what you're doing is wrong. He expressed concerns that
- 16:44Speaker 1: consertives are being excluded from bank services, implying it may
- 16:48Speaker 1: be politically motivated or regulator driven under the Biden administration,
- 16:54Speaker 1: saying quote, I don't know if regulators mandated that because
- 16:58Speaker 1: of Biden. Now, Trump's remarks revived a larger conservative narrative
- 17:03Speaker 1: around the banking the claim that banks are systematically cutting
- 17:08Speaker 1: off accounts that are tied to conservative values or industries
- 17:12Speaker 1: like firearms, fossil fuels, and also crypto. His criticism prompted
- 17:18Speaker 1: regulatory and legislative attention as well, including a Senate Banking
- 17:23Speaker 1: Committee hearing back in February and scrutiny from state attorney generals.
- 17:27Speaker 1: On top of that, conservative states and political actors also
- 17:32Speaker 1: pressured banks like Bank of America JP, Morgan City Group,
- 17:37Speaker 1: and Goldman Sachs to clarify their policies. Now, despite these claims,
- 17:42Speaker 1: banks have repeatedly denied alleging any political bias. They assert
- 17:47Speaker 1: account closures are quote tied to compliance with anti money
- 17:51Speaker 1: laundering rules, risk policies, and regulatory mandates, not ideology. Now,
- 17:59Speaker 1: the reason why the President used a high profile venue
- 18:02Speaker 1: at the World Economic Forum was to amplify conservative concerns
- 18:07Speaker 1: about access to financial services. The remarks underpin regulatory movement
- 18:13Speaker 1: that we're now witnessing in real time and the White
- 18:16Speaker 1: House Executive Order on Political based account Closures is another
- 18:20Speaker 1: example of that. Look, the President of the United States
- 18:23Speaker 1: of America set it clear when he was running. My
- 18:26Speaker 1: job is to protect all Americans. And also, this is
- 18:29Speaker 1: one of the reasons why he's advocating so much for crypto.
- 18:33Speaker 1: As Donald Trump signed that crypto bill into law. Here's
- 18:37Speaker 1: part of what change would that take.
- 18:39Speaker 5: A listen a fed share far earlier than anyone expects,
- 18:42Speaker 5: so too late's voice can be totally nullified.
- 18:46Speaker 6: All right, And Trump today at the White House, he
- 18:49Speaker 6: was having such a great time. He's ignoring some of
- 18:52Speaker 6: the other controversies out there are the other noise on that.
- 18:55Speaker 6: But he signs this major crypto bill into law. A
- 18:59Speaker 6: lot of people thought it never could happen. He got
- 19:01Speaker 6: the Republicans on board. This will make us, he says,
- 19:05Speaker 6: competitive with China. Check it out.
- 19:08Speaker 4: This afternoon, we take a giant step to cement the
- 19:11Speaker 4: American dominance of global finance and crypto technology. And we
- 19:16Speaker 4: want to have it not China, and China wasn't actually
- 19:19Speaker 4: have they were watching this day.
- 19:20Speaker 6: They like it.
- 19:21Speaker 4: And we've got this, We've got Ai. We've got a
- 19:26Speaker 4: lot of great ones happening.
- 19:28Speaker 6: James, what do you think turned Trump on the crypto issue?
- 19:33Speaker 5: Well, I think President Trump recognizes that the rising economy
- 19:35Speaker 5: of crypto does lift all boats. When Americans have access
- 19:39Speaker 5: to other banks at a time when folks have been
- 19:41Speaker 5: rightly concerned about being dbanked, they have access to stable coins.
- 19:44Speaker 5: That means that it's impossible for them to be thrown
- 19:47Speaker 5: off for the wrong tweet about vaccine mandates, for standing
- 19:50Speaker 5: up for the President's unbelievable economic agenda. And so the
- 19:53Speaker 5: President recognizes that to compete with China, it isn't simply
- 19:56Speaker 5: about giving Secretary headsapt all the resources he needs at
- 19:59Speaker 5: the Defense Apartment. It also means working to enable ourselves
- 20:03Speaker 5: to be economic powerhouses. Yes, and the real economy, Laura,
- 20:06Speaker 5: but also in this new alternative age of artificial intelligence
- 20:10Speaker 5: and of crypto.
- 20:11Speaker 1: He's exactly right. This is why Donald Trump is pushing
- 20:15Speaker 1: so hard for other avenues so that Americans cannot have
- 20:19Speaker 1: to worry that banks have all the power over them
- 20:22Speaker 1: and their money. Cashpatel has now come out and is
- 20:28Speaker 1: calling out the lying media after the discovery of quote
- 20:33Speaker 1: secret burn bags. You notice there's a trend here with
- 20:38Speaker 1: the deep state and what we're now finding out after
- 20:41Speaker 1: a lot of man hours are being used to see
- 20:43Speaker 1: just how corrupt our government was under the previous administration,
- 20:48Speaker 1: in fact, dating all the way back to when Barack
- 20:50Speaker 1: Obama is in office, not just Joe Biden. Well now,
- 20:54Speaker 1: the FBI Director Cashpateel has challenged news media to own
- 20:59Speaker 1: who is re laing about his discovery of a stash
- 21:02Speaker 1: of classified documents connected to the Trump Russia collusion narrative
- 21:07Speaker 1: that was weaponized against Donald Trump in his first term.
- 21:10Speaker 1: The director's comments came in the wake of a recent
- 21:14Speaker 1: report that burn bags filled with thousands of documents dating
- 21:20Speaker 1: back to the Trump Russia probe were discovered in a
- 21:23Speaker 1: room in the FBI headquarters. Posting this on x, the
- 21:27Speaker 1: director invoked his role as senior counsel for the White
- 21:31Speaker 1: House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence during the first Trump
- 21:35Speaker 1: term and wrote this in twenty seventeen slash eighteen. I
- 21:40Speaker 1: proved that still dossier was fictitious. Intelligence was weaponized by
- 21:45Speaker 1: corrupt FBI officials to deceive a federal judge and unlawfully
- 21:50Speaker 1: spy on the president on then presidential candate Donald Trump's campaign,
- 21:55Speaker 1: all of it being paid for by his opponents. Now
- 21:57Speaker 1: we know that dossier was paid for by Hillary Clinton's
- 21:59Speaker 1: camp and they were fined for that. And we also
- 22:03Speaker 1: know that it was paid for by the Democrat National Committee.
- 22:05Speaker 1: They were also fined for it. So it is a
- 22:07Speaker 1: fact that shouldn't even be up for any type of debate.
- 22:12Speaker 1: He added, the media called me a quote liar. Patel continued, Now,
- 22:21Speaker 1: I'm the FBI director. We just uncovered burn bags, burn
- 22:26Speaker 1: bag rooms filled with hidden Russia Gate files, including the
- 22:31Speaker 1: Durham annex, and we have declassified them. Once again. I
- 22:36Speaker 1: released the prior FBI's own documents and exposed the truth.
- 22:41Speaker 1: The same media is calling me a liar again. He
- 22:45Speaker 1: goes on to say, then came the challenge with Patel
- 22:49Speaker 1: writing this quote. Maybe this FBI will release more documents
- 22:54Speaker 1: directly from the FBI headquarters so we can see who's line.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Wouldn't want to deprive the fake news of more bogus pulitzers.
- 23:05Speaker 1: And then well, now Fox News is reported that one
- 23:10Speaker 1: potentially explosive find is the quote classified annex to former
- 23:16Speaker 1: Special Counsel John Durham's final report. It would include the
- 23:20Speaker 1: underlying intelligence in that probe. The fine is yet another
- 23:24Speaker 1: in the series of document revelations that point to a
- 23:27Speaker 1: hidden agenda aimed at sabotaging Donald Trump's first term in
- 23:31Speaker 1: office and honestly cutting it short. Now, documents also that
- 23:37Speaker 1: were released, you may remember last month by the Office
- 23:42Speaker 1: the Director of National Intelligence revealed quote overwhelming evidence that
- 23:46Speaker 1: Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration manufactured and politicized intelligence
- 23:52Speaker 1: that created the Russia hoax. That is what Tulci Gabbard
- 23:56Speaker 1: said at the time. While legacy media have largely ignored
- 23:59Speaker 1: the revolutions, the materials cited by Betel are not going
- 24:03Speaker 1: into their quote burn bags. The source told Fox News.
- 24:09Speaker 1: The top intelligence and national security officials are now overseeing
- 24:13Speaker 1: the to classification of the Durham annex. The materials will
- 24:17Speaker 1: then be sent to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Senator Chuck Grassley,
- 24:22Speaker 1: who will release the documents to the public now. Grassley
- 24:26Speaker 1: has been seeking information connected to Durham's probe for some time.
- 24:31Speaker 1: In twenty nineteen, for example, then Attorney General Bill Barr
- 24:35Speaker 1: initiated the Durham probe to expose potential misconduct by the
- 24:40Speaker 1: FBI in its effort to tie the Trump campaign to Russia.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Durham concluded in his final report released in twenty thirteen
- 24:52Speaker 1: that the FBI relied on uncorroborated intelligence and lacked a
- 24:58Speaker 1: sufficient basis to l onto full investigation into the Trump
- 25:02Speaker 1: campaign's alleged collusion with the United States Cold War adversary.
- 25:09Speaker 1: So you look at what I just told you and
- 25:12Speaker 1: this report that has come out. These are three major
- 25:16Speaker 1: reports that are coming from the intelligence agencies, and what
- 25:21Speaker 1: it's proving as Cashpitel again firing back at media critics
- 25:26Speaker 1: after and covering these secret FBI burned bags with classified documents,
- 25:31Speaker 1: is that this was done in a way that was nationwide.
- 25:37Speaker 1: It was done in a way that was so egregious
- 25:41Speaker 1: that the only way it could happen is if it
- 25:44Speaker 1: was planned deliberately by the highest people in power. That's
- 25:49Speaker 1: the only way this thing happens. Don't forget. Share this
- 25:53Speaker 1: podcast with your family and friends, share it on social media, please,
- 25:57Speaker 1: and I'll see you back here tomorrow.
