- Ka"Rin Necole: Say this about ground game, and I'm gonna say this from over the last five campaigns I'm currently working on. Five of the ⁓ I'm working on. Ground is strategic. One thing ground game is you need to have money for the ground because people will say, I'm gonna volunteer, I'm gonna knock doors, I'm gonna help you, I got you. when it comes down to working in Florida. And it's over 100 degrees every day. And this is springtime. We haven't even hit June 21st, which is summer yet. temperatures in some parts of Miami and other areas are gonna raise to over 110 degrees per day. And people tell you, I'm gonna to knock a door, you know what I'll tell you? I will call volunteer you give me. I will train them, I will get them ready to go. ⁓ Greg Fink: ⁓ easily. Ka"Rin Necole: I will, whether you use my software, you use Webelect, you use Van, you use eCanvasser, whatever software you're gonna use, gonna get your ⁓ trained. But you know what's gonna happen on that day when I tell every volunteer, I'm coming into town. Let's and we're gonna canvas on these days. I'm gonna hear all kinds of things. I'm gonna get voicemailed. I'm gonna get text. I'm sorry I haven't. I have doctor's appointment. can't do the heat. I'm on medication that can't take the heat. I just got work. I'm sure. I'm good to talk to people. This is why we have paid canvassers and petitioners. I've ⁓ never an issue with paying a canvaser or a petitioner. And let me tell you why. Because if I'm giving you that $15 an hour, I can mandate my four hours a day. I can tell you how many doors I expect you to knock. I can tell you how many people out of every doors per hour you should actually speak to. And most times I'm not gonna send canvassers out between hours ⁓ 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. I like the canvas in the mornings from about 9 30 to ⁓ 30. It's still kind of cool. It's not the heat of the day. I like to canvas in the evening time. Greg Fink: Ooh. Like exactly. Exactly. Ka"Rin Necole: Somewhere between 530 to 830. It's in the cool of the day. while people are rushing home from work, we're out walking, knocking doors and not going at it with traffic. Greg Fink: Right. Yeah, exactly. And that's what people don't realize. I mean, you and I both come from a background of A, we both manage campaigns, but we also have a strong background in canvassing. I mean, that's actually how I got started and back in the late nineties, back when probably you were a little pup, everything. I mean you know, I mean we we we were and you and I have both been knocking on tens of thousands of doors over the several years. I mean, and so and so Ka"Rin Necole: Well I mean we're such a little pup now. I wasn't able to vote for, I don't think I was able to vote for Clinton, but I was able to out flyers for Clinton. I remember them ⁓ to our high school and wanting to engage all of us that were 16 or older to get registered to vote. Greg Fink: I have a little more grey hair than you. Yes. Exactly. ⁓ Right. That's awesome. so you're a young person getting involved in the system early then. And so which is which is really really good because I mean you understand all the different nuances ⁓ of going door to door and the weather and the timing. And and whenever I talk to campaigns, historically they always say, We're just gonna knock all day. I'm like, No, you walk from ten nine to eleven in the morning and like, you know, five to seven in the evening because, you know, during the lunch time people don't want to be bothered during lunch, or they're probably not gonna answer the door. And, you know, basically I mean y you wanna catch ⁓ you know, early early because if you wear out your volunteers, if you wear out your canvassers, they're they're gonna look at you like, Why am I even working for this guy? You know, I don't want anybody to vote for ya. Why are they gonna vote for ya? It's horrible. Ka"Rin Necole: Let me tell you where the best places for volunteers. Volunteers are good to log into your dollar system and sit on their sofas in their air conditioning say, call for, vote for, elect and so. ⁓ Volunteers good to send out emails, volunteers are good to send out text messages, volunteers are to Greg Fink: Your pajamas. Exactly. Mm-hmm. Ka"Rin Necole: every morning them a link about you something you posted on social media and ask them to repost it volunteers help your algorithms you want volunteers use in the algorithm section Greg Fink: So now to go in the heat. I said yeah. Yeah.
