- 0:26Speaker 1: for Steve Hadley, I don't join join me. You doing me, honey.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You gotta turning to a You gotta turn to turn
- 1:41Speaker 1: them out. You got to turn them out. Then turn
- 1:46Speaker 1: the water the water go. Come come on your fad
- 2:01Speaker 1: uh huh. I sure will a good morning everybody. You're
- 2:05Speaker 1: listening to the voice, come on, dig me down, want
- 2:08Speaker 1: and only Steve Harvey got a radio show, man on
- 2:12Speaker 1: man on man. I just I have to tell you this.
- 2:21Speaker 1: How good is the god I served? How amazing is
- 2:26Speaker 1: he here? It is? It is your determination and your effort.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Listen to me carefully. It is your determination and your effort.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I think that the average person, and I'm not knocking you,
- 2:49Speaker 1: I just want you to hear me out. I think
- 2:51Speaker 1: what stops the average person from becoming successful is it
- 2:56Speaker 1: we don't realize the effort that it takes. And that's
- 3:00Speaker 1: just truth. I found that to be so true in
- 3:04Speaker 1: my life and my talking to people and meeting people,
- 3:07Speaker 1: and people aren't asking me questions about it and me
- 3:10Speaker 1: trying to figure out the way myself. I don't think
- 3:14Speaker 1: that you really can comprehend the effort that it takes
- 3:19Speaker 1: to become successful. This is the thing that you have
- 3:23Speaker 1: to wrap your mind around very quickly if you want
- 3:26Speaker 1: to be successful on any level in any area. The
- 3:30Speaker 1: dream is the beginning. Good Lord, let me tell you something.
- 3:34Speaker 1: The determination and effort is massive. You cannot be overly
- 3:42Speaker 1: concerned with sleep. If you are a person who is
- 3:46Speaker 1: always concerned about sleep, get success out your mind. A
- 3:50Speaker 1: fit to happen. Partner is not fit to happen. You
- 3:53Speaker 1: cannot be that concerned about sleep. Now, listen to me.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You have to get your rest. But this was my philosophy.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I'm just sharing you with how I did it. My
- 4:06Speaker 1: philosophy was I stopped being concerned about sleep. I got
- 4:13Speaker 1: my rest, but I got just enough to get back
- 4:18Speaker 1: to it, and I got back on the grind to
- 4:20Speaker 1: hop into hustle. I got just enough rest so I
- 4:25Speaker 1: could go and put forth some more effort. But listen
- 4:29Speaker 1: to me, you cannot sleep a third of your life
- 4:33Speaker 1: away and expect to become successful. If you're not already successful.
- 4:37Speaker 1: If you are asleep for eight hours, that is a
- 4:40Speaker 1: third of your day. You cannot be asleep a third
- 4:44Speaker 1: of your life and expect to get successful. Now, after
- 4:47Speaker 1: you get successful, you know, you learn as you go
- 4:52Speaker 1: to work smarter, not harder. So as you get successful,
- 4:57Speaker 1: you may have eight hours available to you on the
- 5:00Speaker 1: way up there. I don't see how you can do it,
- 5:02Speaker 1: I promise you. I don't now. I don't know. Maybe
- 5:03Speaker 1: somebody can come forward. I did it out. Yeah, probably lying,
- 5:07Speaker 1: But okay, tell your story, because everybody I know that's
- 5:12Speaker 1: successful that I've sat down the head real talks with
- 5:16Speaker 1: it wasn't concerned with sleeping. You cannot be concerned with
- 5:21Speaker 1: sleeping if you want to be successful. How how can
- 5:25Speaker 1: this happen for you? It listened to me. The effort
- 5:28Speaker 1: that it requires is massive. It's an all out of
- 5:32Speaker 1: salt on your dream. Now you got to make an assault.
- 5:35Speaker 1: It's requires and all out of salt on it. And
- 5:39Speaker 1: you can't be sleeping. Fight at the same time. You
- 5:41Speaker 1: can't fight when you sleep. Man. I wish I could
- 5:44Speaker 1: get y'all understand this right. Ill understand that the effort
- 5:48Speaker 1: that is required to be successful will take everything you have,
- 5:53Speaker 1: and when you think you've given your all, it's gonna
- 5:56Speaker 1: require some more. The quality of your chill is amazing.
- 6:02Speaker 1: See that's okay. Listen, what is sitting around having a
- 6:05Speaker 1: bill every day? Fault? What? What? What? They're sitting around
- 6:09Speaker 1: smoking weed for every day? Fault? Come on, man, for real,
- 6:15Speaker 1: But if you took that beer, drinking weed smoking chill
- 6:18Speaker 1: time and apply it to progressing yourself towards your dream
- 6:23Speaker 1: when you do carve out a vacation, guess where you
- 6:26Speaker 1: be able to go. Guess what part of the world
- 6:29Speaker 1: you can go? See guess how you can chill? Now,
- 6:32Speaker 1: Now I'm instead of you just driving every year your
- 6:35Speaker 1: family to the family union. Sit at the same picnic table.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Everybody pull their money in two ten families don't never
- 6:41Speaker 1: pull they money in. They down there eating like y'all eating.
- 6:44Speaker 1: You got attitude because the day or they side don't
- 6:48Speaker 1: ever chip in, And no they down they eating the
- 6:50Speaker 1: extra potatoes are making place. You're not not arguing about
- 6:52Speaker 1: this every year for real? Man, they ain't got the
- 6:55Speaker 1: T shirt money. You know they got to say a
- 6:58Speaker 1: T shirt, don't. They ain't put in that really, man,
- 7:01Speaker 1: so so so so so you want that to be
- 7:03Speaker 1: it every year? Or do you want this year I'm
- 7:07Speaker 1: taking my family to New Orleans, or I'm taking my
- 7:11Speaker 1: family see the Grand Canyon. I'm taking my family down
- 7:14Speaker 1: to the beach this year, and me and my family
- 7:16Speaker 1: gonna go sight See. We're gonna go ride couple the
- 7:19Speaker 1: river on Chicago. Me and my family gonna go skiing
- 7:22Speaker 1: this year. Me, me and my family going out to
- 7:24Speaker 1: La Man, we're gonna we're gonna go out there for
- 7:26Speaker 1: a weekend. You know, you know it can happen like that.
- 7:29Speaker 1: But if you ain't working, listen to me. Average effort
- 7:35Speaker 1: gets average results. See. Ordinary effort gets ordinary results. But
- 7:46Speaker 1: if you put forth an extra effort, see, the only
- 7:50Speaker 1: difference between extraordinary and ordinary is one word, that's extra.
- 7:54Speaker 1: If you do extra, you can take ordinary right on
- 7:58Speaker 1: over to extraordinary. Do you understand you have to have
- 8:02Speaker 1: a massive assault on your dreams? Quit sitting up in here, man,
- 8:05Speaker 1: trying to chill all the time. I'm sorry, man, I
- 8:08Speaker 1: wish I could tell you another way, but it ain't one.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I didn't talk to jay Z about this. I didn't
- 8:13Speaker 1: talk Samuel all about this. I didn't talked to said
- 8:15Speaker 1: about this. I didn't talk. I have talked to the
- 8:18Speaker 1: President of the United States. I've had a conversation with
- 8:22Speaker 1: him about his effort. You look at this. You cannot
- 8:27Speaker 1: become successful with our effort. You cannot be concerned about sleep.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Here's what I did. Now, you can take it from me,
- 8:37Speaker 1: or you can try it your way. But when you
- 8:39Speaker 1: get through trying it, this is what you're gonna have
- 8:40Speaker 1: to do. I wasn't concerned about how much sleep I got.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I just had to get my rest. And once I
- 8:48Speaker 1: got enough rest to get up and get the task done,
- 8:52Speaker 1: I got up. Somebody sent me a tweet the other day,
- 8:58Speaker 1: a partner of mine. He's someone to see if I
- 9:01Speaker 1: can pull it up while I'm talking to you. But
- 9:03Speaker 1: he just sent me a little sign. Just wasn't nothing,
- 9:05Speaker 1: just a little something to say, Hey man, I ran
- 9:08Speaker 1: across this, I thought about you, and I sent it
- 9:10Speaker 1: to you. It said, no alarm clock needed, My passion
- 9:15Speaker 1: wakes me. He said, no alarm clock needed, My passion
- 9:22Speaker 1: wakes me. That's what you got to be about. You
- 9:27Speaker 1: gotta take that dream. You gotta get passionate about it,
- 9:30Speaker 1: and you got to get awake, and you got to
- 9:32Speaker 1: get up and get at it, and you got to
- 9:34Speaker 1: put forth a massive assault on your dream. Your effort
- 9:37Speaker 1: has got to be extraordinary if you put forth extraordinary.
- 9:40Speaker 1: If you put forth extra effort, you go from ordinary
- 9:44Speaker 1: to extraordinary. That's the deal. You think it's another way,
- 9:47Speaker 1: If you got another way, could you please email it
- 9:50Speaker 1: to me? Steve Harvey doctor let me know so I
- 9:53Speaker 1: can slow down. So I don't know no other way.
- 9:56Speaker 1: All right, you're listening, ladies and gentlemen. Let me have
- 10:03Speaker 1: your undivided attention. It's morning again. This is dedicated to
- 10:09Speaker 1: people who lay claim to the fact that they are
- 10:13Speaker 1: not mourning people. I want you all to reconsider this affirmation.
- 10:18Speaker 1: I want you to stop claiming it because mourning is
- 10:22Speaker 1: a blessing and hopefully you will see mourning again tomorrow.
- 10:27Speaker 1: So to claim not to be a morning person but
- 10:30Speaker 1: yet and still hopefully tomorrow comes and this is something
- 10:34Speaker 1: you're gonna be upset about every single day when in
- 10:37Speaker 1: actuality it is a blessing. You should stop using your
- 10:41Speaker 1: tongue to speak that negativity in your life and allow
- 10:45Speaker 1: God to bless you the way he gonna bless you.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Instead of you saying I'm not a morning person. We
- 10:51Speaker 1: are all mourning people. We are grateful that this morning
- 10:54Speaker 1: and that's why this is that Steve Harvey mourning show,
- 10:58Speaker 1: not to later on it afternoon show. This ain't the
- 11:02Speaker 1: evening show. This is the moaning show. M Ladies and gentlemen,
- 11:09Speaker 1: let's get it on. Shirley Strawberry. Oh I'm a morning person.

- 11:19Speaker 1: Hay crew dad damn junior man. It's moaning time and
- 11:25Speaker 1: the incomparable one filled with more ignorance than allowable by law.

- 11:36Speaker 1: morning time. M right there, well it is this morning time. Man,
- 11:41Speaker 1: just trying to trying to enlighten people about the morning,
- 11:44Speaker 1: you know, that's all. Yeah, Wednesday, midweek day. Some people
- 11:50Speaker 1: used to get up with the chicken. You know, man, man,

- 12:14Speaker 1: that's your calling ship? Why do you think that it
- 12:16Speaker 1: just comes out? For sure? Why does all your animals so,
- 12:20Speaker 1: why do all your animals sound wounding? The sick? They
- 12:25Speaker 1: don't never sound all the sick ass farm animal. It
- 12:37Speaker 1: just comes out. They don't sound healthy. He no, like
- 12:41Speaker 1: it sound like a shot. Your farm animals don't have
- 12:46Speaker 1: a farmer. Maybe that's where the McDonald I think it
- 12:52Speaker 1: sounds like I got money. You can exactly like I
- 12:55Speaker 1: have control over that. I don't know where it comes.
- 13:00Speaker 1: It just comes out. It just comes out. You ever
- 13:04Speaker 1: let one of your animals talk to your other animals?
- 13:06Speaker 1: Do that? Wow? Uh is she doing that? We're gonna
- 13:10Speaker 1: have to call a doctor. No, but he asked, though,
- 13:14Speaker 1: how crazy is that being introduced as more than the

- 31:03Speaker 1: keeps you running. That's a Dubi Brothers gem. Finally, Stephen
- 31:08Speaker 1: Entertainment News, we're learning about what led up to DMX's
- 31:11Speaker 1: recent rehab check in. DMX didn't relapse, but feared he
- 31:16Speaker 1: was at risk to go back to his old ways.
- 31:19Speaker 1: He was triggered by the stress of a sick child
- 31:21Speaker 1: who has been in and out of the hospital and
- 31:24Speaker 1: the pressure of performing again. Instead of making a choice
- 31:27Speaker 1: he would later regret. H DMX knew he needed to
- 31:31Speaker 1: seek help. We're praying for you, X. Stay strong like that. Please.
- 31:40Speaker 1: He's actually a good dude. Many a few times I've
- 31:44Speaker 1: met him. He's always been a good brother. Wow. But
- 31:47Speaker 1: you know what, man, that man once again. Social media
- 31:49Speaker 1: can do what they want to do. But you know
- 31:51Speaker 1: what I've learned, there are a lot of good people
- 31:53Speaker 1: that make mistakes. Oh man, Yeah, a lot of good
- 31:59Speaker 1: people mistakes. And he's getting a lot of support on
- 32:03Speaker 1: social media, you know, especially you know, people in the
- 32:06Speaker 1: hip hop community like NAS and you know, I saw
- 32:09Speaker 1: him saying, you know, we're praying for you brother. So
- 32:12Speaker 1: you know he has support and love from us. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:16Speaker 1: I just like that he recognizes his triggers and went
- 32:20Speaker 1: and got help. I love that a lot of people
- 32:23Speaker 1: don't do that. A lot of people do relapse and
- 32:25Speaker 1: go back under Absolutely. Yeah that that that addiction is real, man,
- 32:31Speaker 1: That addiction is real. That that addiction, man, that that's
- 32:37Speaker 1: the devil at his absolute finest. Yeah. And then the press,
- 32:42Speaker 1: like he said, the pressure performing again and a sick child.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, the stress of that alone. Yeah yeah wow.
- 32:51Speaker 1: So yeah, we are praying for you. Definitely stay strong.
- 32:55Speaker 1: All right, Steve, time to get an update on today's
- 32:59Speaker 1: head lines, please, ladies and gentlemen, Miss Anne Tripp, thank
- 33:03Speaker 1: you very much, everybody, This is a trip with the news. Well,
- 33:06Speaker 1: you know what happened last night. Democratic presidential hopefuls took
- 33:09Speaker 1: to the debate stage again last night, but this was
- 33:13Speaker 1: the first time since the House of Representatives began its
- 33:16Speaker 1: official impeachment inquiry, and former Vice President Biden made his
- 33:19Speaker 1: feelings about the president real clear. He used the C
- 33:22Speaker 1: word crazy president who knows not a damn thing about
- 33:26Speaker 1: foreign policy and operates out of fear for his own
- 33:29Speaker 1: re election. Do you have Russia influencing and trying to
- 33:33Speaker 1: break up NATO. What does the president do? He says,
- 33:36Speaker 1: I believe Vladimir Putin if he is re elected, I
- 33:40Speaker 1: promise you there will be no NATO. We will be
- 33:43Speaker 1: in real trouble of impeachment, of course, was also discussed.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris among the many who had
- 33:50Speaker 1: their say. This president is the most corrupt president in
- 33:54Speaker 1: modern history, and I think all of our history. And
- 33:56Speaker 1: the fact is that this president Nited States has gone
- 33:59Speaker 1: so far to say that, in fact, he will not
- 34:02Speaker 1: cooperate in any way at all. They have no choice
- 34:06Speaker 1: but to move. He has committed crimes in plain sight.
- 34:10Speaker 1: During that election, Donald Trump told us he could shoot
- 34:13Speaker 1: somebody on Fifth Avenue and get away with it. And
- 34:15Speaker 1: he has consistently since he won been selling out the
- 34:18Speaker 1: American people. Our framers imagined this moment, a moment where
- 34:22Speaker 1: we would have a corrupt president, and our framers then
- 34:26Speaker 1: rightly designed our system of democracy to say there will
- 34:29Speaker 1: be checks and balances. This is one of those moments,
- 34:33Speaker 1: and so Congress must act. Donald Trump needs to be
- 34:36Speaker 1: held accountable. He is indeed the most corrupt and unpatriotic
- 34:40Speaker 1: president we have ever had. But of course, when the
- 34:42Speaker 1: subject turned to gun violence, all the candidates talked about
- 34:46Speaker 1: school shootings, the National Rifle Association, getting weapons out of
- 34:50Speaker 1: the hands of people who shouldn't have them, even going
- 34:52Speaker 1: door to door to get them. However, former US Housing
- 34:55Speaker 1: Secretary Julian Castro he urged caution. He was the only
- 34:59Speaker 1: one on the stage, the only one who also mentioned
- 35:03Speaker 1: the special problem that people of color, especially black people,
- 35:06Speaker 1: facing this country and the places that I grew up in.
- 35:08Speaker 1: We weren't exactly looking for another reason for cops to
- 35:11Speaker 1: come banging on the door. And y'all saw a couple
- 35:13Speaker 1: of days ago what happened to Tatiana Jefferson and fort Worth.
- 35:17Speaker 1: A cops showed up at two in the morning at
- 35:19Speaker 1: her house when she was playing video games with her
- 35:21Speaker 1: net with her nephew. He didn't even announce himself, and
- 35:24Speaker 1: within four seconds he shot her and killed her through
- 35:27Speaker 1: her home window. She was in her own home. And
- 35:30Speaker 1: so I am not going to give these police officers
- 35:33Speaker 1: another reason to go door to door in certain communities
- 35:36Speaker 1: because police violence has also gun violence. And who did
- 35:39Speaker 1: your address out? He was the only one, only one
- 35:42Speaker 1: of there who mentioned anything happened to do specifically with
- 35:45Speaker 1: black people, especially activists who were injured doing the white
- 35:48Speaker 1: nationalist rallying Charles vill Virginia have file suit against the
- 35:51Speaker 1: people who organized it. Today National Boss's Day, mister big Stune.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Now back to the Steve Harvey Warner Show. You're listening, hey, everybody,
- 36:03Speaker 1: as promise. Joining us now is a man who is
- 36:07Speaker 1: the president of the Black Lawyers Association. He's an award
- 36:11Speaker 1: winning civil rights attorney and activists. He has handled the
- 36:15Speaker 1: biggest wrong for death cases that we've had recently. And
- 36:20Speaker 1: he was jess In Cancoon with us for saying and soul.
- 36:24Speaker 1: And he bought the mothers of the movement with him
- 36:27Speaker 1: so we could celebrate them. On top of all of
- 36:30Speaker 1: that of his tireless fight for justice for our people,
- 36:34Speaker 1: this brother has found time to write a book. The
- 36:37Speaker 1: book is entitled Open Season Legalized Genocide of Colored People.
- 36:43Speaker 1: The book is available everywhere in stores and online, and
- 36:47Speaker 1: we're gonna find out more about it. Ladies and Genner,
- 36:49Speaker 1: please welcome my brother, the one and only attorney Benjamin Crump.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Good morning, Harney Crump. Let me tell y'all how great
- 37:01Speaker 1: it was to be what you are saying, and soul man,
- 37:04Speaker 1: if you've needed my spirits. I came back more focused
- 37:07Speaker 1: than ever. It's time flies. But I never forget how
- 37:12Speaker 1: greatf I was for you allowing me to use your
- 37:15Speaker 1: platform to talk about this seventeen year old kid who
- 37:19Speaker 1: was walking home with a bag of skitters and a
- 37:22Speaker 1: cannabite team and this neighborhood watched volunteer shot him in
- 37:26Speaker 1: the heart and got off. Yeah, it's amazing, and it's
- 37:31Speaker 1: just happening over and over again. So let's talk about
- 37:33Speaker 1: this man, because I want to hear more about this.
- 37:36Speaker 1: You got this book out. It's called open Season. It's
- 37:39Speaker 1: legalized genocide of colored people. What you're doing this book,
- 37:43Speaker 1: Attorney Crump, as you expose a terrifying truth that the
- 37:47Speaker 1: killing or imprisonment of black people is being justified by
- 37:52Speaker 1: a legal system, exactly, Stephen, especially considering with what just
- 37:56Speaker 1: happened in Fort Worth Texts, it is truly the epitome
- 38:00Speaker 1: of open season by the police and the government, which
- 38:06Speaker 1: the police represent to many people, Steve, in our community,
- 38:09Speaker 1: that's the most authoritative figure that we have that we
- 38:13Speaker 1: come in contact with, representing the government, and they get
- 38:16Speaker 1: to kill us, whether it's on the streets or when
- 38:19Speaker 1: our children go to court. If you go into the
- 38:22Speaker 1: courtroom and you just watch, when you see little white
- 38:25Speaker 1: boys and girls come up there with very similar fact
- 38:28Speaker 1: patterns to little black and brown boys and girls. The
- 38:32Speaker 1: white children get a slap on the wrist and they
- 38:35Speaker 1: get escorted out the courtroom to live the destiny that
- 38:39Speaker 1: guy has for them. But the little black children get
- 38:42Speaker 1: sent to the corner of the courtroom and they are
- 38:45Speaker 1: convicted of a trumped up felony conviction after they've been
- 38:49Speaker 1: fingerprinted and handcuffed, and that felony conviction now Steve is
- 38:53Speaker 1: with them for the rest of their lives. And we
- 38:56Speaker 1: talk about in the book what comes with being at
- 39:00Speaker 1: this feling if you are a poor minority in America.
- 39:03Speaker 1: He attorney Crump, Hang on one second, we'll be right back, man,
- 39:06Speaker 1: don't go nowhere. We got Benjamin Crump will be right
- 39:09Speaker 1: back with more about this exciting book. You're listening, all right, everybody,
- 39:16Speaker 1: We're back and we're talking with the attorney Benjamin Crump
- 39:19Speaker 1: about his new book that's been released and it's in
- 39:22Speaker 1: Stories everywhere, and the book is called Open Season. So
- 39:24Speaker 1: let's get back to this interview, and we talk about
- 39:27Speaker 1: in the book what comes with being a convicted feeling
- 39:32Speaker 1: if you're a poor minority in America. And so we're
- 39:35Speaker 1: getting into the essence of where Paul Robson and de
- 39:38Speaker 1: Wie B. Dubois did back in nineteen fifty one when
- 39:41Speaker 1: they went to the United Nations saying that we charge
- 39:45Speaker 1: genocide on how America is mistreating African Americans and how
- 39:51Speaker 1: they are not having the law protect us as it's
- 39:55Speaker 1: supposed to be for all citizens. And that is the
- 39:59Speaker 1: essence of open season. Wow, you know what, man, I
- 40:03Speaker 1: find this what you when you open up your statement
- 40:06Speaker 1: about this open season, that they're doing it to us
- 40:09Speaker 1: in the courtrooms. They're doing it to us in on
- 40:13Speaker 1: the streets. Now they're going into our houses. They they're
- 40:19Speaker 1: killing us in our houses. Now this is Dallas, was
- 40:22Speaker 1: the last with Amber Geiger, and now this police officer
- 40:27Speaker 1: in fort Worth, which is the neighboring city to DFW Airport,
- 40:31Speaker 1: is Dallas Fort Worth Airport. They bumped right up against
- 40:34Speaker 1: each other. Arlington separates them, little suburb called Arlington, that's
- 40:39Speaker 1: where the football stadium is now. But you go from
- 40:43Speaker 1: Dallas to fort Worth and now this police officer shot
- 40:46Speaker 1: this twenty eight year old black woman in her house
- 40:49Speaker 1: playing video games with her nephew, and they managed to
- 40:53Speaker 1: find a gun on the floe somewhere, and they released
- 40:56Speaker 1: a picture of a gun on the flow somewhere in
- 40:59Speaker 1: the house. I'd be looking at these, you know, Steve,
- 41:03Speaker 1: it is so profound how they always try to intellectually
- 41:07Speaker 1: justify the killing of black and brown people as it
- 41:12Speaker 1: was legal. Toget about the morals. They try to say,
- 41:15Speaker 1: we can justify legally in the court of law, where
- 41:19Speaker 1: none of these murderers or hell accountable for killing your
- 41:23Speaker 1: children and my children. It's almost when you think about
- 41:27Speaker 1: both of them. John in his own apartment, this white
- 41:30Speaker 1: police want to come in and killing him, and then
- 41:33Speaker 1: everybody wanted to have sympathy for her, and you kept
- 41:37Speaker 1: a scratch your head and say, why doesn't any of
- 41:39Speaker 1: the little black and brown people ever get that benefit
- 41:43Speaker 1: of consideration, that benefit of the doubt. I've put an argument,
- 41:47Speaker 1: Steve in the book that says, why should we allow
- 41:51Speaker 1: the government to now pay their bills by selling marijuana
- 41:57Speaker 1: and weeds? But yet when black people who are selling
- 42:00Speaker 1: marijuana and we need to pay their bills, they put
- 42:03Speaker 1: us all in prison. Yeah, I'm telling you, man, it's like,
- 42:08Speaker 1: I think this book is right on time, because I
- 42:10Speaker 1: think this book that you've written open season. I think
- 42:14Speaker 1: it's gonna give an eyeball and attention to a thing
- 42:18Speaker 1: that America needs to see because when they read it
- 42:21Speaker 1: at book clubs and they read it and it opens
- 42:24Speaker 1: up for conversation starters because it's legalized genocide of colored people,
- 42:30Speaker 1: and that's exactly what's happening. And for you not to
- 42:33Speaker 1: think that this is happening in this country, you are
- 42:36Speaker 1: part of the problem. Because I can assure you if
- 42:40Speaker 1: it was happening to you and people who reminded you
- 42:44Speaker 1: of yourself, it would be a problem. But when it's
- 42:47Speaker 1: happening to us and you don't see it as a problem,
- 42:50Speaker 1: then it's because you're a proud of the problem. And Steve,
- 42:54Speaker 1: you have a son writing that eighteen to twenty five
- 42:57Speaker 1: age range that is the target. Do you all realize
- 43:01Speaker 1: that black men in America only make up seven percent
- 43:05Speaker 1: of the population, but yet we represent fifty percent of
- 43:10Speaker 1: the people on death row? How do you how does
- 43:13Speaker 1: that happen to me? About it being some systematic discrimination
- 43:19Speaker 1: on the part of the government. Absolutely, he can't happen.
- 43:22Speaker 1: So because unless it's equal justice under the law for
- 43:26Speaker 1: all American citizens, then we are living a line and
- 43:30Speaker 1: America we are better than that. The book is available everywhere.
- 43:34Speaker 1: It's by Attorney Benjamin Crump, and the book is called
- 43:37Speaker 1: Open Season. Everybody, make sure you pick up a copy,
- 43:40Speaker 1: Brother Benjamin. We appreciate you, man, Hey, big brother, I
- 43:42Speaker 1: always appreciate you, and thank you again for bringing those
- 43:46Speaker 1: mothers down there and letting them know that we still
- 43:49Speaker 1: remember that chicken. We remember Trey Vine, we remember Michael Brown,
- 43:53Speaker 1: we remember Eric Gardner, we remember Terrence Cruncher, and we
- 43:57Speaker 1: remember Robert Tolin. Thank you, Steve. I love you, brother,
- 44:00Speaker 1: I love you too, man, Thank you. Man. We're gonna
- 44:03Speaker 1: switch gears here with the nephew. It's time for today's
- 44:06Speaker 1: prank phone call. Right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey
- 44:10Speaker 1: Morning Show coming up at the top of the hour.

- 44:51Speaker 1: the guys at the church. Man. They told me that
- 44:53Speaker 1: if I wanted to talk to y' i could reach
- 44:54Speaker 1: out to you or whatever. How you doing today? I'm good, man,
- 44:57Speaker 1: I'm good. How can help your wife? Man? The she
- 45:00Speaker 1: I'm not trying to be disrespecting anything, but she seems
- 45:02Speaker 1: to be real fit? Does she does? She work out
- 45:04Speaker 1: all the time? Yeah? She go to January once in
- 45:06Speaker 1: a while. Bro? Yeah? Who who is this? Bro? Like
- 45:08Speaker 1: I said, I didn't, Calvin Man, we go to the
- 45:10Speaker 1: same church. Listen, me and my wife been trying for
- 45:13Speaker 1: a long time. Many actually have some kids, and to
- 45:17Speaker 1: be honest with you, Roger Man, it just ain't happening. Dog.
- 45:21Speaker 1: I mean we've been trying and trying, but what I'm
- 45:24Speaker 1: trying to do now is just find another type of
- 45:26Speaker 1: way to make this happen. Now. You say your wife
- 45:29Speaker 1: is in good condition, right, My wife kid isn't a
- 45:33Speaker 1: good condition. Brother, What did she got to do with
- 45:36Speaker 1: trying to have a baby. She You know, y'all already
- 45:39Speaker 1: got kids, don't you. Y'all got like from what the
- 45:41Speaker 1: brother the church told me, y'all got three kids right there?
- 45:43Speaker 1: We got three. I got two boys in the girl. Okay,
- 45:47Speaker 1: here's what I'm trying to do, man, I was hoping
- 45:50Speaker 1: that I could find somebody, a female that would be
- 45:54Speaker 1: a good seagant mother or what you know. What I'm
- 45:58Speaker 1: saying is like because my wife, I mean, you know,
- 46:01Speaker 1: we want to have kids, man, we want to have
- 46:04Speaker 1: hold on. Brother, you just said you're looking for a
- 46:06Speaker 1: seragant mother. And the brother the church told you to
- 46:08Speaker 1: call me, Well, no, no, no, anybody tell me to
- 46:11Speaker 1: actually call you. I asked them about you and your wife.
- 46:16Speaker 1: You know, I asked them for your phone number so
- 46:17Speaker 1: I can actually call you myself. Man, wait a minute,
- 46:20Speaker 1: So you've been you've been eyeing my wife? No no, no, no, no, no,
- 46:24Speaker 1: I ain't been, So you're looking at it wrong. Listen.
- 46:27Speaker 1: What I was saying is that your wife just seems
- 46:30Speaker 1: like a healthy, healthy person. I want to be able
- 46:32Speaker 1: to have a healthy child, man, I really do. Man,
- 46:35Speaker 1: that me and my wife. We listen, you called me
- 46:39Speaker 1: about my wife and you want her to be a
- 46:41Speaker 1: Saragant mother for you. Wis I don't even know while
- 46:43Speaker 1: to be on the phone. Brother. Here's the real deal, man,
- 46:46Speaker 1: me and my wife we can't have kids. We've tried
- 46:49Speaker 1: and tried and tried, and you know, biologically, we've just
- 46:53Speaker 1: been going through it and going through it, man. And
- 46:55Speaker 1: I was just you know, I've seen your wife. She healthy.
- 46:59Speaker 1: I see y'all a child all the time. And I
- 47:01Speaker 1: was just like, reached out. Man, maybe somebody wouldn't mind
- 47:05Speaker 1: being the Saragan mother for for me and my wife
- 47:09Speaker 1: so we can have a child. I'll figured Sarragan mother,
- 47:13Speaker 1: I mean, dog, Hold on the brother, you calling me
- 47:17Speaker 1: to see if my wife can be a Saragon mother
- 47:19Speaker 1: to your child. And I know it's crazy, it's crazy,
- 47:24Speaker 1: and I think you lost your mind. Brother. Out of
- 47:28Speaker 1: all the members in the church, you're calling me to

- 48:08Speaker 1: looking for a Sarah Good mother. We look, we've seen
- 48:11Speaker 1: your your wife, and we thought she'd be a great
- 48:13Speaker 1: Sarah Good mother. And I know it sounds crazy for
- 48:16Speaker 1: me to pick you out of all the people that
- 48:17Speaker 1: go to the church. I understand that, man, I do,
- 48:20Speaker 1: but listen, we would love for your wife to be

- 48:27Speaker 1: But listen to them, if you don't mind. We don't
- 48:30Speaker 1: want to do this with no test tubes and all
- 48:33Speaker 1: that way they mixed my seed with her with with
- 48:36Speaker 1: with her eggs. We want to do this naturally. War war,

- 53:39Speaker 1: gonna read this one right here, right now. Buggle up,
- 53:43Speaker 1: hold on tight. We got it for you. Here it
- 53:45Speaker 1: is Strawberry letter. Thank you f subject. I live next
- 53:49Speaker 1: door to the Magic Woman. Dear Stephen Shirley. I'm a
- 53:52Speaker 1: thirty six year old single woman, and my new next
- 53:56Speaker 1: door neighbor has me concerned. She's a pretty girl in
- 53:59Speaker 1: her late twenties, and she was nice enough when I
- 54:02Speaker 1: met her. Here's my problem. Her bedroom window faces my
- 54:07Speaker 1: bedroom window, so I have to keep my blinds closed
- 54:11Speaker 1: for privacy. She always keeps her window cracked, and night
- 54:15Speaker 1: after night, usually during the week, I can hear very
- 54:19Speaker 1: loud moans and whimpers coming from next door. I hear
- 54:23Speaker 1: furniture moving around and creaking, and it keeps me from
- 54:27Speaker 1: resting at night. I thought I could get used to it,
- 54:30Speaker 1: but then the noises started lasting four hours. I might
- 54:33Speaker 1: fall asleep by eleven PM to the noises, to the noises,
- 54:37Speaker 1: and wake up for work at five thirty am, and
- 54:40Speaker 1: the noises are still going on. Last Tuesday, I was
- 54:44Speaker 1: getting ready for bed and my doorbell rang. I peeped
- 54:48Speaker 1: out and said, yes, who is it. The man on
- 54:50Speaker 1: the other side of my door asked me if I
- 54:53Speaker 1: was the Magic Woman. I told him no and told
- 54:57Speaker 1: him to try next door, then into my window and
- 55:01Speaker 1: watched him check his phone and then walk over to
- 55:04Speaker 1: my neighbor's house. Within thirty minutes, the noises started and
- 55:08Speaker 1: went on for at least two hours. After that, I
- 55:12Speaker 1: started watching her every other night, and she had all
- 55:15Speaker 1: kinds of men coming and going. Some were louder than others.
- 55:19Speaker 1: I want to tell the neighborhood Association about her, but
- 55:22Speaker 1: my sister told me, I'm jealous and I'm hating on
- 55:25Speaker 1: the Magic Woman because I can't pay a man to
- 55:27Speaker 1: come to mind. I can't pay a man to come
- 55:29Speaker 1: to my house. There is no way I'm jealous. I
- 55:33Speaker 1: just do not want this wild prostitution ring this close
- 55:37Speaker 1: to me. Steve, I know you're going to have jokes,
- 55:39Speaker 1: but I really need to know. But Steve, I know
- 55:45Speaker 1: you're gonna have jokes, but I really need to know
- 55:47Speaker 1: if I should report the Magic Woman or not. Please advise.
- 55:51Speaker 1: All right, this is quite alarming, especially since this young lady,
- 55:54Speaker 1: this nice enough young lady as you call her, live
- 55:58Speaker 1: so close to you and you can hear everything that's
- 56:00Speaker 1: going down. You need your rest. You don't want to
- 56:04Speaker 1: hear all of this all night long, you know. I
- 56:08Speaker 1: would say something to the neighborhood association. I would not
- 56:12Speaker 1: necessarily that there's a prostitution ring going on, but say
- 56:15Speaker 1: something about the noises. Maybe she can close her window
- 56:18Speaker 1: and you won't have to hear that. Okay, your sister
- 56:23Speaker 1: is a hater herself. It sounds like, I mean, she
- 56:25Speaker 1: just came out and told you that you're jealous of
- 56:27Speaker 1: her and you're hating on the magic woman because you
- 56:30Speaker 1: can't pay a man to come to your house. Wow,
- 56:33Speaker 1: where'd that come from? But anyway, Yeah, you know, you
- 56:38Speaker 1: can't necessarily prove it's a prostitution ring going on over there,
- 56:42Speaker 1: although from every indication it seems like that what is
- 56:46Speaker 1: going on. But maybe she could just close her window
- 56:48Speaker 1: so you won't have to hear it, That's what I
- 56:51Speaker 1: would report that there. It's too loud over there. My
- 56:55Speaker 1: neighbor reported me because some of my branches from my
- 56:58Speaker 1: yard were in her so I got a letter from
- 57:01Speaker 1: the neighborhood, from the homeowners association. I was mad about it,
- 57:06Speaker 1: but I did. She'd had some of the jail branches
- 57:08Speaker 1: in her yarn. I did have my garden. I give
- 57:11Speaker 1: you something. Call down that fall. Are well? Are we telling?
- 57:18Speaker 1: She told him me. Though, all right, Steve, Yeah, let's
- 57:23Speaker 1: start at the bottom of the letter. Steve, I know
- 57:26Speaker 1: you're gonna have jokes. Oh okay, Well all right, I'm
- 57:33Speaker 1: gonna try not to then. How about that? Okay, But
- 57:37Speaker 1: here I go. Thirty six year old single woman next
- 57:42Speaker 1: neighbor gas has me concerned. You don't live over there.
- 57:47Speaker 1: I don't know what you're concerned about, but here we go.
- 57:50Speaker 1: She's a pretty girl in her late twenties. She was
- 57:54Speaker 1: really nice when you met him. Here's my problem. Her
- 57:57Speaker 1: bedroom window faces my bedroom, and so I have to
- 58:01Speaker 1: keep my blinds closed for privacy. She keeps her winder crack,
- 58:06Speaker 1: and night after night, usually during the week, I can
- 58:08Speaker 1: hear very loud moans and whimpers coming from next dope.
- 58:11Speaker 1: I hear furniture moving around and creaking, and it keeps
- 58:14Speaker 1: me from resting that night. I thought I get used
- 58:17Speaker 1: to it. But then the noise. It's started last for
- 58:19Speaker 1: five hours. I fall asleep eleven pm, wake up, go working,
- 58:23Speaker 1: four thirty five third the noise it's still going on.
- 58:25Speaker 1: This ain't the same dude. Now, I'm just telling you
- 58:27Speaker 1: that this is not the same dude. There has been
- 58:31Speaker 1: a shift change. That you are on the way. Ain't
- 58:36Speaker 1: no man in there from eleven to five thirty, all
- 58:40Speaker 1: the furniture moving and all is here or it's submit
- 58:44Speaker 1: out there that can say that's them. But there has
- 58:46Speaker 1: been a shift change because you ain't looking into blinds.
- 58:50Speaker 1: This is swift, dees is more than one. Last twes,
- 58:54Speaker 1: I was getting ready to go to bed, my doorbell rain.
- 58:58Speaker 1: I peeped out, and yes, who is it. The man
- 59:01Speaker 1: on the other side of my door asked me if
- 59:03Speaker 1: I was the magic woman. I told him no. I
- 59:06Speaker 1: told him to try next dope. So you went to
- 59:09Speaker 1: your window and watched him check his phone, and there
- 59:11Speaker 1: walked into your neighbor's house. Within thirty minutes, the noise
- 59:14Speaker 1: and started and went on for at least two hours. Wow, damn.
- 59:19Speaker 1: After that, I started watching her every other night. She
- 59:22Speaker 1: had all counts of me and come well, enjoy the
- 59:25Speaker 1: damn show. Then what did you find to call the
- 59:28Speaker 1: neighborhood watch for? And this is better than TV? Yes,
- 59:34Speaker 1: this is you can cut your cable off because your
- 59:36Speaker 1: cable stay next dope. When I come back, I'm gonna
- 59:40Speaker 1: tell you what I think should happen, what should have happened,
- 59:44Speaker 1: and what's gonna happened. Oh what you say, nephew, excuse me,
- 59:54Speaker 1: suld get the address I mean to the magic Woman.
- 59:57Speaker 1: You know, all right, listen, we'll have that to the house.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: You think that'd be right? Oh he's Oh, he's so smart. Though.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: We'll have part two of Steve's response coming up at
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour. Today's Strawberry Letters subject I
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: live next door to the Magic Woman. We'll get back
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: into it right after this. You're listening, all right, Steve.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Here we go. Let's recap today's Strawberry Lots subject good
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: lady to the Magic Morner. This lady got a next
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: door neighbor in her late twenties, cute girl, and she
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: had men coming over all times of the night. She
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: know that because they wouldn't just faced each other. She
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: keep up blinds closed for privacy, but she keep her
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: window open. You know how in the hood. You just
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: a driveway away. You know it's just a driveway separating house.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: She and that you can hear furniture moving from right
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: next dope day and that just getting busy and other
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: day he was getting ready for bed, and know who
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: is it? Now, let me go a little further than
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: this letter, for I do that. I want to tell
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: the neighborhood association about him. And I'm hating on the
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: magic woman because I can't pay a man to come
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: to my house. Damn. Now they're paying to go over there,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: but you can't give a man fifty to come over here.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: That's what your sister said. Your sister told you, I'm
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: jealous and I'm hating on the magic woman. And how
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: you know it's a magic woman because the man can't
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: run your dobell and said it is you the magic woman?
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: You saying no, try next dope. Now, according to the letter,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: you should have said yes, I am the magic woman
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: and let him come on end. Then you could have
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: proved your damn sister row you're gonna send him off
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: now he over the front that you're moving around you
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: may there's no way I'm jealous. I just do not
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: want this wild prostitution ring this close to me. Now,
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: y'all tell them if I could say this or not.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: You don't know that she's a prostitude. You don't know
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: that prostitution and hoing is different. Well, I mean that
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: is a true statement, though one making money and one
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: is for money, one is just for fun. You know.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: I don't even know if it's for fun sporting, So
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: I don't know which one we're dealing with. Hill. Now,
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: you you guess, assuming that you're hoping it's prostitution that's
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: going on next though, it's got to be because there's
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: so many men coming in and out. Yeah, I don't
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: think you're just doing that for fun. I think we
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: got to be getting some type of financial liberties for this. Ye.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: It ain't the smartest way to make money, but it
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: is the oldest profession in the world. But have you
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: thought about a couple of things before you report her
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: off to the neighborhood watch Association and she got all
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: this extra income coming in, have you ever thought of
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: managing her? She that way? The next time they knock
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: on your dough and they say, is you the magic woman?
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: You said no, But I can point you to her
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: here is the payment, and then you take yours off
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: the top and give her the rest. I'm just saying, Oh,
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: if she's making that much money and you stay right
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: next Dough, have you thought about because you liked her
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: when you first met her, you said that at the top,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: have you thought about taking in a roommate you can
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: hear something going on in your house, that's right, Then
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: you can get control of this income and turn it
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: into a business. I mean, I'm just asking you, d
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: She says Steve. I know you have jokes. I cannot
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: let her down what you do. Have you thought about
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: setting up a barbecue pit in your driveway? But when
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: they get through all them, hum, you got to be
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: selling real jeals on the rout Chris. Yeah, so you
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: got two things? Yeah, you need some roses for on
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: the way in? What you want? Two met, three meet play? Yeah?
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Just how you want to do this? So before you
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: called the neighborhood Watch Association, don't stare a gift horse
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: in the mouth and don't win it with it. This
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: could be an opportunity for you. I don't know if
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: you have kids, but this would be a prime location
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: for a lemonade stand. I'm promise you everybody thirsty come
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: out of there not missing. You want to hilarious, man,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: you know they're gonna be suffering from guilt. They're gonna buy. Yes,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: you got a real business in here. I got another idea.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Open your damn blinds and set up a camera. Sell tapes. Hey, man,
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: you want idea? Do you want to tape for yourself
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: in there because I got a clean shot from this woman?
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Or pay me if you want to. They sell tapes
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: after service. Yeah, I'm just going over the things that
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: you could do instead of telling the Neighborhood Watch Association. No,
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I don't think you need to report it. It's none
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: of your business. And there's no acts of violence going.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: It's not a crackhouse. They're not selling dope. All right,
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: Thank you, Steve. We got to move on now. Post

- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Did you know that one and every four women will
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: experience domestic violence in her lifetime and estimated one point
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: three million women are victims of physical assault by an
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: intimate partner each year. Females who are twenty to twenty
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: four years of age are on the greatest risk of
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: non fatal intimate partner violence most cases. Most cases of
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: domestic violence are never reported to the police. Children who
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: witnessed violence between one's parents or caretakers is the strongest
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: risk factor of transmitting violent behavior from one generation to
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: the next. I'm here to heighten just to heighten your awareness.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: We talk a lot of October is also Breast Cancer
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Awareness Month, Carla, and we talk about that as well,
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: but it's also Domestic Violence Awareness Month. And domestic violence
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: is not a pretty subject. It's not a sexy subject,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: so it doesn't get, you know, like the accolades that
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: some other causes do. But it is definitely going on
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: so much. You know, we don't know about it. But
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: I am here to heighten awareness about domestic violence and
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: also to tell you then I'm a board member of
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: the Alma G. Davis Foundation. Now, if you would like
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: more information about the Alma G. Davis Foundation, or if
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: you would like to support, please visit their website at

- 1:08:48Speaker 1: you need about domestic violence. We're trying to stop it.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: We are. I was also a victim of domestic violence,
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: which is why I wanted to get involved in this organization.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: That was many years ago, probably in my Yeah, it
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: was in my twenties. So there you go. Wow, uh yeah,
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour. You know,
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: it's hard to talk about, but it's it's unnecessary evil.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: You have to talk about it. You know, you have
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: to put a face on this stuff so people will
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: will know that if it's happening to them, you know,
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: they can do something about it. They don't have to
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: be stuck in that situation. And you know what, it's
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: not just women, it's some men enough strength and courage.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: The victims sometimes they you know, blame themselves for what's
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: happening and huh yeah, and the embarrassed shame, embarrassment. Yes,
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: you think it's your fault somehow. You know, you're I
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: was really young when this happened. You think it's your fault.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: I'm making him do this to me, you know, things
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: like that. It's a lot involved. But uh, you know,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: I'm glad that I finally did speak out about it.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: I am, of course, it's still hard to talk about it,
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: but but I'm not a victim. I'm definitely a survivor.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: Um all right again, alm Alma G. Davis Foundation dot org. Okay,
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: coming up, we're moving on coming up at the top
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: of the hour. Actress Felicity Huffman turned herself in yesterday
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: to start serving her fourteen day prison sentence in the
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: college bribery scandal. We'll talk about her bread after this.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: That ain't number you're listening show well. Actress Felicity Huffman
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: turned herself in yesterday yesterday to begin serving a fourteen
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: day sentence for her role in the college admitton's bribery's scandal.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: They say this one was going to prison for fourteen days. Yeah, well,
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: you can survive fourteen days. That's orientation is two weeks?
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: Oh wow, sound like a two or don't here to show? Yeah? Well.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: She arrived at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California,
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: on Tuesday, just outside of San Francisco, where she'll be
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: locked down for the next two weeks. As we reported,
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: Felicity got fourteen days at thirty thousand dollars fine, one
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: year supervised release, and two hundred and fifty hours of
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: community service. Prosecutors initially privately demanded one year in jail
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: and then publicly reduced their recommendation to four months behind bars,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: but ultimately reduced it to one month, but the judge
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: scoffed at the prosecutor's request, saying the case amounted to
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: a bunch of nothing because the college admission system was
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: already broken. What helped Felicity, the judge said, she had
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: near immediate acceptance of responsibility, so she took ownership for
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: her crime, and she paid one of the smallest bribes.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: Felicity in court apologized, saying, I have inflicted more damage
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: on her daughter than I could have ever imagined. So
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: she took your daughter, No she's not. Yeah, Now what's
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: going to be interesting is this other lady that didn't
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: take a plea? Oh yeah, Laura Laughlin. Yeah, yeah, Now
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: we really fit to find out because you notice, judge said,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: because she owned up to it in all it h
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: that's what got her to break the system. Owned up
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: to the fact that she changed her address to her
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: daddy's house so her child could go to a different school.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: And she got five years and that's not five days
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: just to go. She didn't pay she she just moved
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: to address. Man. Yeah, yeah, that's say so many people
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: who have done that before. They're still doing that going
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: on for years. Man, I got apartment. What did you
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: were gonna say, we got an apartment. What nowhere has
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: nothing like me? Sometimes you know that, you really do,
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: you act like me sometimes scares. It was a while back,
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: but I have to start a counting years, and I
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: don't know if I'm clear. You go with your Yeah,
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: I got to tell me years and I went, okay, Steve,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: you might be a year or two off. That's funny. Yeah,
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: that is funny. Yeah, but sometimes you might be out
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: of the school district by one block or something, you know,
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: and you use someone else's address, you use your sister's address,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: you know, so your child can go to school with
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: your cousins or whatever. I mean, it's a lot. It's
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: done for athletics a lot. You know. He's still doing it. Yes, yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: they do that today really, but yeah, you're right, Steve.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: The judge was lighter Unfelicity Huffman, because, like she said,
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: she took she accepted her responsibility almost immediately, almost immediately.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, she got a snick a Lloyd. They
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: think they slick somebody. Somebody gonna do some time. She
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: paid like five hundred thousand dollars Lorie Laughlin and her husband.
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: I don't think it's some big money. But what about
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: the people that they paid? What about the people that
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: received the money the fixer? Yeah, yeah, they're gonna get
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: their sentences too, if they're not already serving. I wish
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: I would pay five hundred thousand stupid ass kids to
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: go to college. What what hell? They're fitting to learn
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: for a half million dollars? Why? And I just give
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: you two hundred and fifty thous you started damn business.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: We're gonna get to making this paper, un as you're
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: going to college for for a half million dollars. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: I was complaining about the forty two thousand dollars a
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: year I had to pay for them. Yeah, that's it
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: sounds like a lot of money. Five hundred thousand, is
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: that that's a lot of money. That's half a minute. Yeah,
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: you can get that chick for late by. Yeah, you
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: get a whole franchise. All right, listen, coming up, we're
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: the Switch here, more music, more fun on the Steve
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show at twenty minutes after the hour. We'll

- 1:17:30Speaker 1: to rich people. Then they got this lady, Taulsy Gabbert,
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: nice looking lady, ain't president. If everybody and Wifie vote,
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: she still ain't gonna make it to even be discussion.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: Syria and Turking you ain't even the president now, and
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: then that's another thing, Tommy. We don't get to vote
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: on foreign policy, so quit talking to us about foreign
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: policy when we have no say. So, what are you
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: going to do for us right here that we will
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: send our kids to school, get some daycare benefits, get
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: some tax benefits, get some reasonable house loans, Get some
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: of these dead off this college students, find a way
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: to pay these teachers more office. Get these damn policemen,
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: quit killing all these people out here. Get their ass
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: properly trained and properly convicted. That's what we need to do.
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: Get some of these damn guns off this street. And see,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: that's what we need to do so people can go
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: to church, to the movies, in school, and inside their
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: house without getting killed by some damned food coming there not.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: A second black person in the Dallas Fort Worth area
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: then got killed by another police officers in their house,
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: this time a twenty eight year old woman. Are we
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: for real? But I'm serious, though, We have got to
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: stop getting caught up in the stuff that they don't
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: even let us vote on. Quit telling me what you're
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: gonna do with foreign policy, because you're not gonna let
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: us have a say so in it, and then you're
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: gonna get in there. And nobody does with foreign policy
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: what they say they're going to do. They need to
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: stick to the issues that concerned the American public. That do.
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: I need to go down each one to candidate. Y'all
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: want to call their names off, and I tell you
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: the chance they let go a. Let's start with out
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: of South in Indiana, Mayor Pete Buda, Judge, nice name,
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: real nice looking dude. Ain't gonna make it. Smart smart,
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: real smart. Can't beat Trump, though, Former Housing Secretary Julian Castro.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: Julian Castro, what latinos for Trump? Said? United Minnesota Senator
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Amy Klobascher. Come on over do nobody lives? Oh you
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: just took it from me. I would just I'm Terry Lewis.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: That's just only votes. We still heads what we knew?
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: Oh yeah for sure. All right, listen, come ahead, some
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: remarks our last break of the day. Closing remarks from
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: the one and only Steve Harvey at thirty nine minutes
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: after the hour right after this, you're listening Steve Show.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: All right, Steve, here we are last break of the day.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: It's been a good day and good hump Day Wednesday.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: I'm doing ye, hold your start. Can I say something true?
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: How about them astros? Baby? How about them astros? That's
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: all I wanted, astro stros. Strove come on Strolls. Who
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: won on the Strokes? Rosy Bros, go Stross? Gary Cole
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: pitched a great one. All right, Steve, it is time, hey,
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: you know for closing remarks to day. You know, we're
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: just joking about the presidential debates last night and who
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: we think has a chance of beating Trump and can
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: anybody beat him? And what we're gonna have to do
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: to vote and turn out to vote in all of this. Hire.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: But in all seriousness, whoever the candidates are, whoever they are,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: what's more important is who you are. See, the person
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: of your choice are liking might not be sitting in
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: the White House. The majority, the vast majority of people,
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: or at least half at minimum, are not going to
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: be happy with whoever the choice he is sitting in
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: the White House. I think it's a great deal more
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: than fifty percent that's unhappy with the current resident of
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: the White House. But then it's a shocking number of
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: people who are absolutely perfectly fine with him being in
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: the White House, which leaves me a bit disturbed because
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: I just don't know how you can hear this type
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: of rhetoric coming from the highest office in the land
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: and accept this as okay. You know, there used to
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: be a time where we would say, you know, we
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: want our children to look up to certain people. You know,
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: I remember a long time ago you wanted everybody to
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: know your neighborhood policemen. Well, now that's crazy. Now, I
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: remember when you wanted everybody to be friends and know
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: the pastor. Well, the majority passes are good people. All
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: the pastors are human, and some of them make huge mistakes.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: I remember when people used to point to the president
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: as a person who should be of higher moral value
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: and conduct than the rest of us to lead to
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: free nation. Well they changed that around with this last election.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: So no matter who's in the White House, half the
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: people are gonna be unhappy at best at least. So
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: here's what I was thinking, who's ever in that White House?
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: I think that we should all turn our attention to
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: ourselves to our relationship with God. However we choose to
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: serve him as a Muslim, as a Jehovah's witness, as
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: a Catholic, as a Protestant, a Christian, a Methodist, a Buddhist,
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: whatever you choose to do, I think you all should
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: turn your attention to your faith and your relationship with
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: God and who you are trying to be. Everybody I
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: know wants to be happy and successful. So in this
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: upcoming twenty twenty election, you know I've decided to do.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna cast a vote for guess what, I only
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: get one. I can talk about it on the radio
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: all the way up into November twenty twenty, but at
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: the end of the day, I get one vote. My
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: vote won't change your vote. Your vote won't change my vote,
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: but all of our votes together, if we acted as
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: a unit, could affect who sits in the White House.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: But once again, I thought that would work last time too,
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: and it did. And then as a little loophole called
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: electoral College vote that got him in in spite of
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: losing by three million, four million popular votes. I've heard
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: as high as five million. But no matter who gets
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: in in twenty twenty, I have decided that I'm on
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: my way to making myself and all of us should
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: consider this. We want to be happy and we want
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: to be successful. So we should try to find a
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: way and we should start going about the business of
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: making ourselves spiritually better people physically, make ourselves better people.
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: Watch your diet, start getting concerned about what you put
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: in your mouth. Start educating yourself to dietary restriction that
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: you need to help heal your body. We are to
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: work on our financial situation and improve it in ways
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: that we can do. We also we should just work
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: on being better people. We should work on being better husbands,
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: better fathers, better wives, better mothers, better young men, better
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: young women, better students, better employees, better entrepreneurs. Whatever it
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: is that floats your boat, we should focus on that.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: Because if you put your faith in the White House,
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: this I can promise and assure you whoever gets in
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: there gonna let you down in some shape, form or fashion.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: I don't care who it is, You're going to feel
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: the same way you've been feeling at one point, like
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: you got to get it together for yourself. And so
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: since we got to get it together for ourselves, no
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: matter who's in there, then guess what we ought to
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: start that right now? We ought to start making the
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: players should become better spiritually, physically, financially, a better husband,
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: better father, better wife, better mother, and formal relationship with
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: your creator, however you serve God, you should form that
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: relationship and get that thing knit tight. So when whoever
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: sitting in the White House, when they get through making
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: decisions that we have no voting power in and and
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: not keeping their campaign promises, and we look up in
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: taxes and inflation didn't hit. We still got our faith,
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: got our family, got our health, got our lifestyle, and
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: we'll just keep on keeping them. Those are my clothing remarks.
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: That's how I feel about it. Dropped them like. Participants
