- 0:00Mark Chapter 11 As they approached Jerusalem at Bethpage
- 0:04and Bethany near the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his
- 0:07disciples and said to them, Go into the village opposite you,
- 0:10and immediately as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there
- 0:13on which no one yet has ever sat.
- 0:16Untie it and bring it here. If anyone says to you, why are
- 0:19you doing this? You say the Lord has need of it,
- 0:23and immediately he will send it back here.
- 0:25They went away and found a colt tied at the door outside in the
- 0:28street and they united it. Some of the bystanders were
- 0:32saying to them, What are you doing untying the colt?
- 0:35They spoke to them just as Jesus had told them, and they gave
- 0:37them permission. They brought the colt to Jesus
- 0:40and put their coats on it and he sat on it.
- 0:43And many spread their coats in the road, and others spread
- 0:45leafy branches which they had cut from the fields.
- 0:48Those who went in front and those who followed were
- 0:50shouting, Hosanna. Blessed is he who comes in the
- 0:53name of the Lord. Blessed is the coming Kingdom of
- 0:56our Father David Hosanna. In the highest.
- 0:59Jesus entered Jerusalem and came into the temple, and after
- 1:02looking around at everything, he left for Bethany with the 12.
- 1:05Since it was already late on the next day when they had left
- 1:08Bethany, he became hungry. Seeing at a distance a fig tree
- 1:11and leaf, he went to see if perhaps he could find anything
- 1:14on it. And when he came to it, he found
- 1:16nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
- 1:20He said to it, May no one ever eat fruit from you again.
- 1:23And his disciples were listening.
- 1:26Then they came to Jerusalem, and he entered the temple and began
- 1:29to drive out those who were buying and selling in the
- 1:31temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and
- 1:34the seats of those who were selling doves.
- 1:36And he would not permit anyone to carry merchandise through the
- 1:38temple. And he began to teach and say to
- 1:41them, Is it not written? My house shall be called a House
- 1:45of prayer for all the nations, But you have made it a robber's
- 1:48den. The chief priest and the scribes
- 1:50heard this and began seeking how to destroy him, for they were
- 1:54afraid of him, for the whole crowd was astonished at his
- 1:57teaching. When evening came, they would go
- 1:59out of the city. As they were passing by in the
- 2:01morning, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots up.
- 2:05Being reminded, Peter said to him, Rabbi, look, the fig tree
- 2:08which you cursed has withered. And Jesus answered, saying to
- 2:13them, Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever
- 2:16says to this mountain be taken up and cast into the sea, and
- 2:20does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what He says is
- 2:23going to happen, it will be granted him.
- 2:25Therefore I say to you all things for which you pray and
- 2:28ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be
- 2:31granted you whenever you stand praying.
- 2:33Forgive if you have anything against anyone, so that your
- 2:37Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your
- 2:39transgressions. But if you do not forgive,
- 2:42neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your
- 2:45transgressions. They came again to Jerusalem,
- 2:48and as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests and
- 2:50the scribes and the elders came to him and begin saying to him,
- 2:53By what authority are you doing these things, Or who gave you
- 2:57this authority to do these things?
- 2:59And Jesus said to them, I will ask you one question, and you
- 3:02answered me, and then I will tell you by what authority I do
- 3:05these things. Was the baptism of John from
- 3:08heaven or from men? Answer me.
- 3:12They began reasoning among themselves, saying, If we say
- 3:15from heaven, he will say, Then why did you not believe him?
- 3:18But shall we say from men? They were afraid of the people.
- 3:22For everyone consider John to have been a real prophet
- 3:25answering Jesus. They said we do not know.
- 3:28And Jesus said to them, Nor will I tell you by what authority I
- 3:31do these things.
