- 1:01Speaker 1: turn very You gotta turn to turn them out. Got

- 1:55Speaker 1: Come come on your bad ah ha, I sure will.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Good morning, everybody. Are you listening to the voice, Come on,
- 2:08Speaker 1: gig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a
- 2:11Speaker 1: radio show. Okay, I got something for you today. I'm
- 2:19Speaker 1: gonna have a conversation this morning about my understanding of
- 2:23Speaker 1: grace now that I've gotten older and I've come in
- 2:27Speaker 1: to a better understanding of a lot of things I
- 2:30Speaker 1: didn't know about when I was younger. This is just
- 2:33Speaker 1: my interpretation of grace. Now once again, y'all listen to me.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I ain't nobody's pastor, I ain't nobody's minister. So you know,
- 2:43Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure you can go to church and get
- 2:46Speaker 1: a far more extensive definition of one I'm giving you.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I'm just talking to people. You know. Grace is this
- 2:53Speaker 1: thing that that God provides for us, and grace it's
- 3:01Speaker 1: just things that you get that's really undeserving, you know.
- 3:06Speaker 1: I mean, I look at my life as it is today.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You know. Look, I work hard and I have faith
- 3:11Speaker 1: in God that I do so things are going to
- 3:14Speaker 1: happen in my life. But the way my life is now,
- 3:17Speaker 1: I don't. I don't. I don't deserve all of this.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I don't don't. I don't look at it that way.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I have been the beneficiary of God's grace. I have
- 3:28Speaker 1: aligned myself in a position to accept whatever grace God
- 3:33Speaker 1: has for me, and it will be far abundant and
- 3:37Speaker 1: exceedingly in anything you could think of. His grace supersedes
- 3:43Speaker 1: anything you could possibly imagine. You know, the goals that
- 3:47Speaker 1: I set and the aspirations that I shoot for, and
- 3:49Speaker 1: the things that I have on my dream board. I
- 3:52Speaker 1: have the faith that God give it to me. But
- 3:54Speaker 1: what He does with grace, he gives you far more
- 3:57Speaker 1: than that. He gives you what He has for you,
- 4:01Speaker 1: not what you can see. You can't see all He
- 4:03Speaker 1: has for you. It's impossible. Who are you? How can
- 4:06Speaker 1: you possibly imagine what he can imagine? How can you
- 4:10Speaker 1: possibly think? How he can think? How how can you
- 4:12Speaker 1: possibly do what he can do. How can it be
- 4:15Speaker 1: that isn't a single mind living or a collection of
- 4:19Speaker 1: minds that could have thought of earth? What in your
- 4:23Speaker 1: wildest imagination could have made you think of Earth? The stars,
- 4:27Speaker 1: the heavens, the oceans, the galaxy, the constellations? What in
- 4:34Speaker 1: your mind? What in any man's mind? We can point
- 4:37Speaker 1: at it and analyze it, but we show it couldn't
- 4:39Speaker 1: have thought of it. So come on now, I'm talking
- 4:43Speaker 1: about lining yourself up with God's grace, which he will
- 4:48Speaker 1: give to you if you if you want some of
- 4:51Speaker 1: it now. But now, his thing about grace, it can't
- 4:53Speaker 1: be bought. If it could, if it could be bought,
- 4:56Speaker 1: I'm telling you I would pour all the money I
- 5:00Speaker 1: have and dump it into grace, because, after discovering what
- 5:05Speaker 1: it is, it's this goodness that God shines on you
- 5:11Speaker 1: simply as a reward of some type for his love
- 5:15Speaker 1: for you and for you attempting for you, attempting to
- 5:20Speaker 1: do right, not because you get it right. Because if
- 5:23Speaker 1: He judged us purely on how we are the right
- 5:26Speaker 1: and wrong of it, we would all be doomed, all
- 5:29Speaker 1: of us, every last one of us would be doomed,
- 5:34Speaker 1: because we all fall short We all make mistakes, we
- 5:38Speaker 1: all sin, we all get it wrong from time to time.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Nobody's perfect. Man. Now I understand what my mother was
- 5:46Speaker 1: saying about cleaning the house. All I want is a
- 5:49Speaker 1: little more grace. All I need is a little more
- 5:53Speaker 1: grace when the last time you ask God for some grace. Now,
- 5:56Speaker 1: I'm not talking to you like I know everything. If
- 6:00Speaker 1: you just benefit from His grace, which you already have,
- 6:03Speaker 1: but if you're not aware of it, you don't know
- 6:06Speaker 1: what's going on. Become aware of grace, Get aware of
- 6:10Speaker 1: the fact that God does things for you simply because
- 6:13Speaker 1: He loves you. He does things for you that you
- 6:16Speaker 1: don't even deserve. Somehow, you just wonder how you just
- 6:18Speaker 1: got over when you didn't even do the things to
- 6:22Speaker 1: get over. Sometimes you don't even know how you got
- 6:26Speaker 1: that job you got when you ain't even really do
- 6:29Speaker 1: the things to get the job. How you end up
- 6:30Speaker 1: where you are? All education you thought you went and got,
- 6:34Speaker 1: and hey, how you end up where you are today
- 6:36Speaker 1: in a much better position than your education could have
- 6:39Speaker 1: ever gotten you. That's grace. How I get every place
- 6:44Speaker 1: I am today. I didn't plan this, man. If I
- 6:47Speaker 1: could have planned my life, the way it is. Don't
- 6:49Speaker 1: you know how to have done it? When I was
- 6:50Speaker 1: living in that car? If I knew how to do it, No,
- 6:53Speaker 1: I benefited from his grace. I'm just a beneficiary of
- 6:58Speaker 1: his grace, of his goodness and his mercy. God's goodness
- 7:03Speaker 1: is better than your goodness. God's goodness is better than
- 7:07Speaker 1: your mother's goodness. It's better than your wife's or your
- 7:10Speaker 1: husband or your booze goodness. God's goodness is different. His
- 7:15Speaker 1: goodness man covers some stuff you can't even imagine. So
- 7:20Speaker 1: why are you trying to put your life together when
- 7:23Speaker 1: the last time you asked him for just a little
- 7:25Speaker 1: bit of grace? When have you thought of your life
- 7:29Speaker 1: in terms of the grace that it has already benefited from?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Have you ever done that? Man? Just thought about you know?
- 7:37Speaker 1: You hear songs like my soul looked back and wonder
- 7:39Speaker 1: how I got over. That's grace. That's all I can
- 7:42Speaker 1: call it. Now. Like I said, you can go to
- 7:44Speaker 1: church or somewhere ever you want to, and ministers that
- 7:47Speaker 1: the wind at school to teach this thing way better
- 7:49Speaker 1: than me. I'm just giving you from a layman standpoint. Man,
- 7:53Speaker 1: have you thought about his grace? Would you not bewailed
- 7:56Speaker 1: to be a beneficiary of his grace? Would it not? Certain? Now,
- 8:00Speaker 1: check this out. The better you try to do, the
- 8:04Speaker 1: more grace he'll give to you. And that grace can't
- 8:07Speaker 1: be bought, Like I said, it's free. You can't purchase grace.
- 8:12Speaker 1: But the better you try to become, the more the
- 8:14Speaker 1: more grace he gets to put your way. So man,
- 8:18Speaker 1: just try, why don't you just try to do better? Look, man,
- 8:23Speaker 1: quick tip. Mind, I'm gonna start next week. I'm gonna
- 8:25Speaker 1: start at the new year. Now you now you do
- 8:27Speaker 1: that every year, you know, the ambras at the new year,
- 8:29Speaker 1: we eat better at the new year. I'm gonna I'm
- 8:32Speaker 1: gonna gonna get in here and the new year. If
- 8:34Speaker 1: you're gonna do it, you're gonna do it now. Man,
- 8:37Speaker 1: you're gonna do not stop trying to do something, do it,
- 8:41Speaker 1: stop talking about it, do it now. The best way
- 8:45Speaker 1: to benefit from his grace is starting action now in
- 8:50Speaker 1: old w now, right now today, what you're waiting on.
- 8:55Speaker 1: All you're doing is delaying his opportunity to bless you.
- 9:00Speaker 1: You know, man, you know, do you know how many
- 9:01Speaker 1: times we do that? We delay his opportunity to bless
- 9:05Speaker 1: us by not starting now. If you're gonna get healthy,
- 9:09Speaker 1: why don't you start now? Now? You're gonna trip a
- 9:11Speaker 1: little bit called the holidays coming. But you ain't got
- 9:13Speaker 1: to eat bad all the time. You could start eating
- 9:16Speaker 1: correct today you could. You could and then guess what
- 9:20Speaker 1: that could be? Some grace on the end of that.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I'm just giving you a little cheap analogy. But do
- 9:25Speaker 1: you feel what I'm saying to you? Start thinking in
- 9:28Speaker 1: terms of grace? What He has done for you and
- 9:31Speaker 1: provided for you that you ain't even see coming. That
- 9:34Speaker 1: you know, you keep calling them blessings And I got
- 9:36Speaker 1: that a lot of it, and us all it is.
- 9:38Speaker 1: But man, have you thought about the stuff that didn't
- 9:40Speaker 1: happen to you? You can't account for I. For me,
- 9:44Speaker 1: that's been grace and I'm beneficiary of it. And that's
- 9:48Speaker 1: available to everybody that wants sull Next time you're talking
- 9:51Speaker 1: to him, just check in with grace. See what that is.
- 9:54Speaker 1: That's that's better than money. You're listening show, ladies and gentlemen,
- 10:03Speaker 1: here it is Steve Robbing Morning Show in your mouth?

- 13:00Speaker 1: nobody ride in my wag. And we aren't playing this.
- 13:04Speaker 1: That was your first collect pop bottles. This work wag,
- 13:10Speaker 1: this pull me up the street, not in this stag.

- 13:34Speaker 1: all of that, and we'll hear from Steve of course
- 13:36Speaker 1: thirty two minutes after the hours, when we'll be back
- 13:39Speaker 1: right after this when you gotta go. Card you're listening

- 14:29Speaker 1: use that paper next year, I know. And my mom
- 14:37Speaker 1: wrapped like the grocery store wrapped. That was her thing.
- 14:40Speaker 1: She oh, yes, she could look just like it did
- 14:44Speaker 1: at the at the department stores. My mom could wrap. Yeah, man, girl,
- 14:48Speaker 1: I got easy. Oh yes, the Lord with the light

- 14:57Speaker 1: Everything I wrapped with the exact shape of whatever dog
- 15:04Speaker 1: dog if you if you thought it was a truck,
- 15:07Speaker 1: that's probably what it was. It was obvious, never going
- 15:10Speaker 1: over under the tree and just feeling on the gifts
- 15:12Speaker 1: trying to guess what it was. Man if I wrapped it, yeah,
- 15:17Speaker 1: you knew. Wow, I got a bowling ball. You know
- 15:27Speaker 1: exactly what looked like he gave. Remember when I got
- 15:33Speaker 1: a tape recorder one year. Oh, that was always a
- 15:36Speaker 1: good at the beginning of my career, right there, tape recorder. Yes, Oh,
- 15:41Speaker 1: I got a sting rewind fast forward, Yes, yea good
- 15:46Speaker 1: good stuff. One of my most frightening Christmases was because
- 15:52Speaker 1: of that tape recorder right there. Oh yeah, what happened?
- 15:55Speaker 1: What you pressed play and recorder and Frank get it done? Yes, yes,
- 16:02Speaker 1: my mama got me mine for Christmas. I took it
- 16:04Speaker 1: upstairs and recorded Rudy ray More signifying the Monkey God
- 16:12Speaker 1: down in the jungle d that signified market damn show
- 16:17Speaker 1: didn't got it walked through the trees and all up
- 16:22Speaker 1: and that market. I was in elementary school. He was cut.
- 16:32Speaker 1: He was seven to six or seven. You know about
- 16:36Speaker 1: Rudy ray More When my dad and them used to
- 16:39Speaker 1: play it ok, And I used to sit on the
- 16:41Speaker 1: steps in the hallway and listen to it. Be in
- 16:44Speaker 1: the hallway Hollyday. Everybody had the albums Man, but I
- 16:47Speaker 1: rememberized album the Whole Signifying Monkey, and I could sound
- 16:53Speaker 1: just like him. So when my mama got it, I
- 16:55Speaker 1: went upstairs and I'm recording wear down in the Jungle
- 16:59Speaker 1: d Signifying Market, cussing and everything I'm talking about cuss
- 17:09Speaker 1: like that's when your first love. You feel a love
- 17:11Speaker 1: like this. So everything going good. We go to church
- 17:14Speaker 1: that morning. We come back. A couple of sister Porter
- 17:18Speaker 1: and sister all Bell came over to see my mom
- 17:22Speaker 1: and they was in there in the living room and
- 17:25Speaker 1: I had my recorder on them coffee table because I say,
- 17:29Speaker 1: saw a cookie on the down room table. I wanted
- 17:31Speaker 1: to get a matter of fact of rice Chrispiak. And
- 17:36Speaker 1: when I came back, my mama had to recorder in
- 17:40Speaker 1: her laugh my stomach. She said what they was all
- 17:48Speaker 1: talking about? Uh, sister Harvey, what is that? That's these
- 17:52Speaker 1: new recorders that you buy. We bought one for Steve.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I'm just looking at man, don't hit that son later
- 18:07Speaker 1: to say, what's on it? My mama pressed play. I
- 18:15Speaker 1: opened it up like this, wear down in the Jungle D.
- 18:26Speaker 1: That's signifying market that did ever sleep? Yeah, I'm cussing
- 18:32Speaker 1: it everything in front of it. I mean, it's on
- 18:36Speaker 1: the record. So my mama trying to find the button,
- 18:42Speaker 1: but she can't cut it all. She can't control the
- 18:45Speaker 1: volume of nothing. She steady hitting the plate button. Well,
- 18:49Speaker 1: that's already down, and your baby talking. Lady at the
- 18:55Speaker 1: church say, oh, that's that's rudy ray Mo. No, So
- 19:00Speaker 1: I said, okay, that might help a little bit, they say,
- 19:04Speaker 1: She say, but who is it though? Oh? Who's saying this? Yeah,
- 19:10Speaker 1: everybody looking at me. I'm just trying to figure out
- 19:14Speaker 1: how I can make this recorded disappear. And b if
- 19:22Speaker 1: I stay here and look out the window, maybe they
- 19:25Speaker 1: won't notice this. Me. Man, I was stitting there in trouble.
- 19:29Speaker 1: My mama's finally cut that thing up. She said, boy
- 19:33Speaker 1: Lord Jesus, when your daddy get home? Oh no, man,
- 19:37Speaker 1: So they left. My daddy came home. She says, snake,
- 19:41Speaker 1: listen to what this boy didn't put on his on Christmas?
- 19:47Speaker 1: And she pressed play again, Wear Down the Jungle D.
- 19:58Speaker 1: My daddy saying, what is that? My mom was saying,
- 20:03Speaker 1: that's your son, boy, and then my dad and listening
- 20:08Speaker 1: to it and star smiling, Why that's you? Uh huh, Yes,
- 20:17Speaker 1: I'm just shrinking. I coming up more of the Steve
- 20:21Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show right after this. You're listening show all right.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Before we went to Brake, Steve, you were telling us
- 20:29Speaker 1: the story about when your dad heard you recite Rudy
- 20:34Speaker 1: ray Moore on your brand new carmacord come home on Christmas.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Look at what your boys doing. Yeah, so she pressed
- 20:43Speaker 1: on way down that blankly Blake didn't ever sleep walking
- 20:59Speaker 1: through trees and swinging in the sand. That like, ain't it?
- 21:08Speaker 1: So my daddy listened to it and he smiled. He said, boy,
- 21:11Speaker 1: that's you. Oh yes, you're tru all. He said, where
- 21:17Speaker 1: your cold a go? Get your coat? Come on, confidence,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I ain't never done that. I used to go onto

- 21:32Speaker 1: the car, he gets the machine, We back out. We
- 21:36Speaker 1: drive right up to Earl's gas station about five minutes
- 21:40Speaker 1: from the house. He got walking there on there man

- 22:58Speaker 1: He thought that was the great thing. Yeah, pure grace.
- 23:02Speaker 1: You take all that cussing off of that machine. You
- 23:07Speaker 1: ain't even where you to learn these words from. You're

- 23:46Speaker 1: funny man. Yea. I was still a Richard Pride for
- 23:49Speaker 1: my daddy. Oh huh, I'm doing Richard and Eddie. Oh yeah,
- 23:55Speaker 1: Like Delirious was my my stand up, specially that Eddie

- 35:47Speaker 1: you have one story. Take this job and shove it. Story. Well.
- 35:53Speaker 1: I worked at a place called Lincoln Electric, uh huh,
- 35:58Speaker 1: and I hated it. I hate it with it everything
- 36:00Speaker 1: in me. I worked a graveyard ship twelve to eight
- 36:04Speaker 1: in the morning, and man, I despised the job because
- 36:08Speaker 1: at four o'clock, I don't care who you are. You sleepy? Yeah,

- 36:29Speaker 1: to develop all these wire coils by pieces, and I
- 36:34Speaker 1: hated that job. And I had this little dude named Tony.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Wasn't my supervisor, cool little dude, but I just I
- 36:40Speaker 1: didn't like the company. And so I went to work
- 36:43Speaker 1: one day and I just told him. I said, hey, man,
- 36:46Speaker 1: I'm not gonna be able to continue anymore. I got
- 36:49Speaker 1: a huge loan came in from small business Association to
- 36:52Speaker 1: start my own company, and all the men was the
- 36:56Speaker 1: oh wow, really, Steve, what you do? Yeah, I'm starting

- 37:01Speaker 1: the loan came through, offered me the body equipment, so
- 37:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna go full time. Oh man, good luck to you,
- 37:07Speaker 1: Good luck to you. So I ended up getting his
- 37:10Speaker 1: job as a carbon cleaner coach. Well, one of the
- 37:13Speaker 1: guys used my company, which partly was true. I didn't
- 37:17Speaker 1: really get the money from a small business loan. I
- 37:21Speaker 1: just wanted to quit, okay, And so one dude called
- 37:26Speaker 1: me and asked me to clean his house because he
- 37:29Speaker 1: knew my house number, and I went by his house.
- 37:32Speaker 1: But I had went to pick and pay with your
- 37:34Speaker 1: grocery store, and I rented machines every day and just
- 37:39Speaker 1: put it in the back seat of my car, and
- 37:41Speaker 1: I pulled up at his house and unloaded the carbon
- 37:44Speaker 1: cleaning machine from the back seat my car. He's, man,
- 37:47Speaker 1: I thought you was a professional car for cleaner. You
- 37:50Speaker 1: didn't rented the machine from that man. I'm gonna tell
- 37:52Speaker 1: everybody down at the job, Okay, So I said, okay, cool,
- 37:57Speaker 1: ain't no problem right here. It's like, so I just
- 38:02Speaker 1: went on to ruin his coffee ruined, now a ruined
- 38:11Speaker 1: extract the water, just put it in there. Since you're
- 38:15Speaker 1: gonna go tell go tell him that too. You feel
- 38:18Speaker 1: good about this? Then it wasn't a funny story. It
- 38:23Speaker 1: wasn't really a yeah, you know, I don't like the company,

- 47:38Speaker 1: There's nothing wrong with being a construction worker for lame
- 47:41Speaker 1: brick or doing kyle or doing rufe. And there's nothing
- 47:44Speaker 1: wrong with that. Man. I got a lot of relatives.
- 47:46Speaker 1: I've done those jobs myself, but I educated myself. Now

- 48:18Speaker 1: I don't even I don't even like to talk like this.
- 48:20Speaker 1: I've worked at a bank. I gotta deal with customers
- 48:23Speaker 1: every day, and I deal with ignorant. I don't even
- 48:26Speaker 1: like I deal with ignorant. It's on a daily basis

- 52:23Speaker 1: reading this one. Subject you Can't Hide a Beautiful body.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Dear Stephen Shirley, I am a thirty year old single
- 52:31Speaker 1: woman without any children, and I've been dating a forty
- 52:35Speaker 1: one year old man that has three young daughters. We've
- 52:38Speaker 1: been together for five months, and all of a sudden,
- 52:41Speaker 1: he does not approve of how I dress. He told
- 52:44Speaker 1: me that I dress as if I want attention from
- 52:47Speaker 1: other men, and not like a wholesome woman. I am
- 52:51Speaker 1: a full time legal assistant at a popular law firm
- 52:55Speaker 1: and I take law classes at night. At work, I'm
- 52:58Speaker 1: in heels and petal skirts, and on the weekend, I
- 53:02Speaker 1: dress for whatever the occasion is, and it's my own
- 53:05Speaker 1: personal style. I have a beautiful, curvy body, and at
- 53:10Speaker 1: my age, I don't see the problem with me wearing
- 53:12Speaker 1: a top that shows a little stomach or a dress
- 53:15Speaker 1: that shows off my curves. He didn't have a problem
- 53:18Speaker 1: with how I dress when he met me, but now
- 53:21Speaker 1: he has been talking about it NonStop. I recently met
- 53:24Speaker 1: his daughters and I was dressed appropriately in jeans and
- 53:28Speaker 1: a sweatshirt. He still said that I need to do
- 53:30Speaker 1: a better I need to do better at presenting myself
- 53:34Speaker 1: in a more wholesome manner when he met. When he
- 53:38Speaker 1: and I met, it was not wholesome, So why does
- 53:40Speaker 1: he want me to seem wholesome now. I never intended
- 53:44Speaker 1: to be a role model for his children. He says
- 53:46Speaker 1: he wants me to be more like his friend's wife.
- 53:49Speaker 1: And that's all fine and good if I were an older,
- 53:52Speaker 1: stay at home mom, but I'm not. Why is he
- 53:55Speaker 1: bringing this up now and trying to change me. I'm
- 53:58Speaker 1: at the point where I want to settle down, and
- 54:00Speaker 1: he could be the one, but obviously I'm not the
- 54:03Speaker 1: woman he really wants. Could this be a deal breaker?
- 54:05Speaker 1: Please advise? Well, you know what, It depends on how
- 54:09Speaker 1: you look at it. It could be a dealbreaker if
- 54:11Speaker 1: he's like this controlling dude you know that wants to
- 54:14Speaker 1: tell you how to dress and you know, compare you
- 54:17Speaker 1: to other women like he's doing in this letter all
- 54:20Speaker 1: of that. It could be that, or it could be
- 54:23Speaker 1: he's considering you for a little more serious role in
- 54:27Speaker 1: his life, because I don't understand why he would even
- 54:32Speaker 1: be concerned about how you're dressing if you're not dressing like,
- 54:35Speaker 1: you know, a stripper or something in front of his
- 54:37Speaker 1: friends and daughters. Dressing for him in private is one thing,
- 54:41Speaker 1: but there is something to be said about appropriate dress
- 54:43Speaker 1: in front of others, especially young impressionable girls. I'll give
- 54:47Speaker 1: him that. Although you said you were dressed properly when
- 54:49Speaker 1: you met his daughters in jeans and a sweatshirt. You
- 54:51Speaker 1: didn't say that you're tummy was out. You didn't say
- 54:54Speaker 1: any of that. I mean, this guy does sound controlling.
- 54:56Speaker 1: He does sound bossy. After only five months in Remember
- 55:00Speaker 1: what he's doing now, how he's talking to you. Now
- 55:03Speaker 1: you guys haven't even made the six month mark. Uh.
- 55:06Speaker 1: That's how it's going to be in a relationship and
- 55:08Speaker 1: into a marriage. So you're gonna have to decide if
- 55:11Speaker 1: that's what you want. I mean, you have your own
- 55:13Speaker 1: personal style, and you said you don't see anything wrong.
- 55:16Speaker 1: I mean that's what's fashionable. Crop tops are fashionable. Uh,
- 55:19Speaker 1: you know, as long as you're clearly had on one
- 55:23Speaker 1: or in the dr at all at all. I mean,
- 55:33Speaker 1: you could do things tastefully. But we were at the beach.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Can we just say that, Steve, we were. We were.
- 55:37Speaker 1: It was a swim party and everything we weren't had
- 55:40Speaker 1: no beach. We was on the inside in the auditorium.
- 55:43Speaker 1: But when I saw you, I don't know where you
- 55:45Speaker 1: came from from the beach, didn't look like bel didn't
- 55:50Speaker 1: have on that anyway, back to the letter, you can't
- 55:56Speaker 1: hide a beautiful body as a subject. So you know,
- 55:59Speaker 1: even though you never intended to be a role model
- 56:01Speaker 1: for his children, sometimes we're thrust in those positions. You know,
- 56:05Speaker 1: you're dating this guy and he does have daughters, so
- 56:07Speaker 1: you have to consider that when you are around them,
- 56:09Speaker 1: you're you're you're not there their mom or anything. But
- 56:13Speaker 1: they are. If you're around their dad, they are looking
- 56:15Speaker 1: to you for certain things. So you know, I'm not
- 56:17Speaker 1: telling you to cover up and dress like a nun
- 56:20Speaker 1: from headget or anything like that, but be mindful, especially
- 56:24Speaker 1: around the daughters, of how you're presenting yourself. You know,
- 56:28Speaker 1: just do that for their sake. Okay, come out of
- 56:31Speaker 1: yourself for a little bit and just do that for
- 56:33Speaker 1: their sake. As far as you and this guy goes,
- 56:35Speaker 1: time will only tell if he continues to be controlling.
- 56:39Speaker 1: He sounds like a nagger and all that already. But
- 56:42Speaker 1: you got to decide if you want to deal with that,
- 56:44Speaker 1: because it's not going to get any better. And yeah,
- 56:46Speaker 1: when you're fine and beautiful, you can't hide it. Steve, Well,
- 56:50Speaker 1: this is a real simple fix right here. Appreciate everything
- 56:54Speaker 1: you said, Sherley. Here's the other side of the coin.
- 56:57Speaker 1: See the way you dress, that's how you got him.
- 57:00Speaker 1: See he liked all that when he saw you. That's
- 57:02Speaker 1: what got his attention. You had what he wanted. That's
- 57:07Speaker 1: why y'all together. Now, the little pencil skirts, the tight fit,
- 57:12Speaker 1: the crop tops, to cleavean showing. Y'all go out on weekends,
- 57:16Speaker 1: you dress how you want bam, that's what got it.
- 57:20Speaker 1: But now he want to change. Well, see the problem
- 57:24Speaker 1: he got now is he probably need a nun. And
- 57:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you why. Here's I'm first, I'm gonna
- 57:30Speaker 1: get into this right here, You thirty and he forty one.
- 57:35Speaker 1: That's eleven years. That's a gap, and it's a real gap.
- 57:40Speaker 1: When it's more than an eleven year distance, eleven year difference,
- 57:46Speaker 1: it's probably more because he's probably an older forty one.
- 57:50Speaker 1: He probably an old stuck up forty one. Then you
- 57:53Speaker 1: might just be a little bit younger thirty. But you
- 57:57Speaker 1: a lawyer, you work at a law firm, You got
- 58:00Speaker 1: a career. You gotta go to work appropriate. You can't
- 58:03Speaker 1: go in there looking like anything like like like like
- 58:07Speaker 1: you know, you can't go to work looking like you
- 58:09Speaker 1: a case. So I think you and you're okay right there.
- 58:13Speaker 1: I think what's really happening here is this eleven year
- 58:15Speaker 1: age difference is bigger than eleven years because in his
- 58:19Speaker 1: mind he wants something else. He wants something else from
- 58:22Speaker 1: you now and now he trying to shape you like
- 58:24Speaker 1: that because he turned around and said it. He wants
- 58:27Speaker 1: you to dress like his friend's wife, and you said
- 58:31Speaker 1: that be fine if he was a forty some years
- 58:34Speaker 1: stay at home month, but you ain't got no kids.
- 58:38Speaker 1: I don't I don't know what he wants. But you
- 58:40Speaker 1: all have to decide it's what you want from here
- 58:43Speaker 1: worth giving him what he want from you. All right,
- 58:46Speaker 1: we'll come back with part two of your response at
- 58:48Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour. Right after this you're listening
- 58:52Speaker 1: to Steve. Let's get to part two of your response,
- 58:56Speaker 1: subject you can't hide a beautiful full body. Well, this
- 59:02Speaker 1: thirty year old lady married his old ass for the
- 59:04Speaker 1: one year old man with these three damn daughters that
- 59:07Speaker 1: she ain't got no kids. They've been together five months
- 59:10Speaker 1: and he don't approve now how she dressed. You know,
- 59:15Speaker 1: he says you dressed like he want attention from other men.
- 59:18Speaker 1: See that's crazy, because see you dressed got attention from him.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Now that he got you, he don't want nobody else
- 59:25Speaker 1: paying attention to you. This is the beginning of something greater. Now,
- 59:30Speaker 1: I really do believe that this dressing is the beginning
- 59:32Speaker 1: of something greater. And like Shirley said, he could be
- 59:36Speaker 1: very controlling. Next thing, you know, you can't whear it is.
- 59:40Speaker 1: Next thing, you know, why you're going over there? And
- 59:42Speaker 1: next thing, you know, why you spending that next thing?
- 59:45Speaker 1: You know, I don't want you driving that car no more.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Next thing, you know, you ain't gonna have no friends.
- 59:51Speaker 1: I don't see a problem with me man or top
- 59:52Speaker 1: to show a little stomach, or a dress that shows
- 59:55Speaker 1: off my courage. He didn't have a problem that you dress.
- 59:59Speaker 1: How he met me. You dog gonna write it didn't.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: But now I've been talking about a non stop that's
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: called some of his damn friends is looking at you.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: See now he's starting to notice some of the other
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: men looking at you. Now, he's feeling sort of inadequate.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: You know, I don't want you to do this. I
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: don't want you to He's feeling some little little bit
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: of insecurity too. I think I recently met his daughters,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: and I was dressed appropriately in jeans and a sweatshirt.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: He still said, I need to do a better presenting
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: myself in a more wholesome matter. What the hell and
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: wholesome that's what I'm saying, covered up from head to tell,
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: So why you want me to seem wholesome? Now? I
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: never tend to be a role model for his children. Okay,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: now let me explain him. You can't say that. I
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: can't say that to him. Man, I ain't trying to
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: be no damn role model for your damn kids. Uh,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: I can't say that. I don't say that, lady. He
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: ain't gonna handle that good, all right? He says he
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: wants me to be more or like his friend's wife.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: And that's all finally good. Where he should marry his friends.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: He should just go dates one of his one half half,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: his friend's wife, introduce him to some of her friends.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: They all three kids. Yeah, drive a minute van. It all,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: it's all good. Ain't nothing wrong with that. But you're
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: gonna get out this little fan says, call you guy,
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: you're gonna get yourself a minute van, get down here
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: to this damn save a lot and get you damn groceries. Wow,
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: that's what you're gonna do. Why is he bringing us
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: up now and trying to change me. I'm at the
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: point why I want to settle down. And he could
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: be the one, but obviously I'm not the woman he
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: really wants. Well, now hold on, let's just take these
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: last two stays. Miss. I'm at the point where I'm
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: ready to settle down and he could be the one,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: could be the one, and but obviously I'm not the
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: woman he really wants. Okay, he could be the one,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: but obviously I'm not the woman he really wants. Could
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: this be a deal breaker? It could be a deal break.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: I think what you should do, though, is wait a
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: little while and just see how it goes. You know,
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: don't make a commitment. Just stay in this relationship and
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: see how I go, see how heavy he gets with
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: what he want. You know, you know, some of the
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: little changes you can make in your dress might be
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: good for you, but then some of it might not
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: be what you want to do. You can't just totally
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: flip the script for this man, and he ain't flipping
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: the script for you. I would flip the script for
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: a woman if she flipped the script for me. It's
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: as long as I get flipped. Stupid, got to get
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: flipp You don't want they want my woman, That's what
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: J J J. The woman used slid. It ain't gonna
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: go like you playing whistle no no, no, no no j.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: That's how he liked it. You ain't been flipped for no,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: I don't either. How come out facing the head bo
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: that's not a good feeling. I don't know what you're
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: doing when you flip me. First day coming out when
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: it is going, what were you doing here? Calling? Calling
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: sexual time out? It's too hard, can't flip me because
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: usually when you get flipped, it's followed by shut up.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: But yeah about say soon as you can flip you
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: your respect is taken. No, man, you're not gonna talk
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: to me like that. No, no, no no. If you
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: keep getting flipped, it follows up with a slap. Oh man,
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: this is this is scary. Yeah, you know now that
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: you look at it. As I was doing light flipping,
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: this is aggressive flipping. Also, once you get flipped, Once
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: you get flipped, you get this baby, fix my plate,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: fix your damn. I don't see a place I can't
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: get the sandwich. I can't get the same. So you're
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: gonna lead the covers off me like that thistle ugly right? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: you flip, Yeah, take your flip back, Tommy. Yeah, all right, Look,
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: we gotta go email us or instagram us guys. Uh,
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: your your thoughts on today's Strawberry Letter and Steve Harvey
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: f and coming up more of the Steve Harvey Morning

- 1:12:57Speaker 1: The whole living room was the tree and presents. That's
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: how you did this back then? Yes, yeah, I mean yeah,
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: our mom's just went all out. They went all out
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: for us on Christmas. And I never wanted to know
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: any of my gifts before Christmas. But I'll tell you.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: I when I was a kid, I got my mom
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: was just clothes. I loved clothes. I got this one

- 1:13:25Speaker 1: into church. That's next Sunday after collar. Yes, fur collar, baby,
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: my fur collar. My mom did it that year. She
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: did it every year. But yeah, that was really special.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: This little cute little Christmas suit she got me. Oh,
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: you couldn't tell me. And I had my hair and curls.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: My hair was down. Oh please please please. All right,
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: Merry Christmas, everybody. We'll be back with more of the
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this. You're listening to
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Cool guys, have you ever you
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: know left and attitude actions left a job with? Yeah, okay,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: let's hear about it. You're taking hell. I'm sleeping here
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: here and I got my ass over here right here,
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: meaning right that I'm here. Yeah, I'm not throwing shade.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: I'm building a tent. I know you have one. You
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: take this job and shove it. Story Well, I worked
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: at a place called Lincoln Electric, huh, and I hated it.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: I hate it with everything in me. I worked a
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: graveyard ship twelve to eight in the morning, and man,
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: I despised the job because at four o'clock, I don't
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: care who you are. You sleeping. Yeah, there is no
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: getting used to four am. You're supposed to be sleep.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: And lunch was twenty minutes. It was like working. It was.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: It was the hardest job I've ever had. Lunch was
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: twenty minutes and you and we had to work on
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: a piece system where we had to develop all these
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: wire coils by pieces. And I hated that job. And
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: I had this little dude named Tony. Wasn't my supervisor,
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: cooler dude, but I just I didn't like the company.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: And so I went to work one day and I
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: just told him, I said, uh, hey, man, I'm not
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: gonna be able to continue anymore. I got a huge
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: loan came in from Small Business Association to start my
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: own company. And all the men was there, Oh wow,
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: really Steve, what you do. Yeah, I'm starting my own
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: carbon cleaning business. Man, I got the money. The loan
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: came through for me to body equipment, so I'm gonna
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: go full time. Oh man, good luck to you. Good
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: luck too. So I ended up getting his job as
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: a carbon cleaning company. Well, one of the guys used
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: my company, which partly was true. I didn't really get
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: the money from a small business loan. I just wanted
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: to quit, okay. And so one dude called me and
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: asked me to clean his house because he knew my
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: house number. And I went by his house. But I
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: had went to pick and pay with your grocery store,
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: and I rented machines every day and just put it
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: in the back seat of my car. And I pulled
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: up at his house and unloaded the carpet cleaning machine
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: from the back seat of my car. Man, I thought
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: she was a professional car for cleaner. You didn't renting
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: the machine from that man. I'm gonna tell everybody down
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: at the job, Okay. So I said, okay, cool, ain't
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: no problem right here. So I just went on and
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: ruined his carpet ruin. Ruin didn't extract the water, Ye
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: just put it in there. Since you're gonna go tell
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: go tell him that too. I felt good about this,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: didn't very comfortable. It wasn't a funny story. It wasn't
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: really Yeah, you know, I don't like the company or no,
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: I really didn't like you. All right, Steve coming up
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: closing remarks right after this you're listening to show. Here
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: we are last break of the day. Steve Harvey, you're
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: closing remarks. What do you have for us today? Let's start?
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: Let's take that again? All right? Here we are last
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: break of the day. All right, Steve hit us with
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: your closing remarks. What do you have for us today? Oh?
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Just some more encouragement. UM. I want to try to
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: give you a mindset, and you could pick and choose
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: whichever you like, but I want to try to give
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: you a mindset to succeed with. I want I want
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: you all to start thinking about your goals, your visions,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: and your dreams, and I want you to think of
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: them like their long overdue. Have you wanted something for
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: so long that you think that it's long overdue? Have
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: you ever dreamt of something so many times and it's
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: yet to happen that you kind of feel like it's
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: long overdue. I want you to take that feeling that
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: it's long overdue, and I want you to internalize that
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: feeling because what I want you to do is I
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: want you to take that feeling and I want you
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: to use it as your motivation to pursue your dreams
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: and goals. Because some of you are right, it's long overdue. Now.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: Some of you may feel that way because you just impatient.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: But however you want to look at it, I want
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: you to take that long overdue feeling and I want
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: you to use it as your motivation to spur you
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: to get at it. Take that long overdue feeling and
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: start looking at your life in terms of you know what,
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Now's the time. Now is the time. There is no
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: better time than now. Don't worry about getting all your
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: ducks lined up in the road, because they don't line up.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: Don't wait till the perfect time, because there is no
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: such a time. You gotta remember that there's a force
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: out there that don't want you to succeed. His job,
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: the devil's job, is to throw blocks in your path,
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: to throw temptation in your path, to test you all
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: along the way. All God needs us to do is
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: past these tests. You're not gonna pass all of them,
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: but he wants your best effort. But you got to
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: act like now's the time. You've got to develop a
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: sense of urgency. This thing that's long overdue, this thing
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: that's long overdue, the time for it to start happening
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: is now. And I have to develop and you have
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: to develop a sense of urgency to get it done.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: It's this sense of urgency that spurs you. It springs
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: you into action. See, the hospital is filled with ruins
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: of care and all like this, but you got different divisions. Now.
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: If you in I SeeU intensive care unit, it's intensive care.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: They in the watching you all the time. They got
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: you monitored regularly, you hooked up to machines. It's down
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: there at the nursing station, you and I see you.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: They got the emergency room that's set up for people
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: who are stuffed and popped off unexpectedly and you need
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: some care right away. Now, the fact that you got
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: to sit there and wait on your right away all
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: this time. It's still the emergency room. But you want
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: to approach your life with a sense of urgence. You
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: don't have to sit there and get put on hold
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: like they do at the hospital, feel out the paperwork.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: You got to developed a sense of urgency because if
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: it's long overdue and now is the time, you might
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: as well have developed a sense of urgency. Your success,
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: your dreams, have visions and visions of happening and occurring.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: Have to be critical. They have to be critical. It's
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: got to be critical. You have to perform in your
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: life like you are in a state of being critical.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: This is critical. It's critical, y'all that you become successful.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: It's critical. It's tied to your happiness, your success, your
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: well being. It's critical. This ain't something man that we
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: can casually deal with. It has to be critical to you.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: You have to have it in your mind that being
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: happy and being successful is something that you can't live without.
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: Why not do you know how many negative things people
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: feel is overdue that they have a sense of urgency?
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: Junkies addicts, this is a sense of urgency for it,
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: and it's a negative thing. I got to get high.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: I got to get my fix. Do you know that
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: people developed sense of urgencies and and and and and
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: and and and things being critical over so many negative things.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: I gotta get down at a happy hour. I gotta
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: get more likes on my page. I gotta do something
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: that I don't really feel comfortable doing because I gotta
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: get more likes. I gotta show some part to my
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: body I really don't want to show, but I'm trying
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: to get some likes. I'm trying to get my followers up.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: Do you know how many people are feeling critical about that?
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: How many people are approaching that negativity with a sense
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: of urgency that they can't live without. Well, let me
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: explain something to you. You should feel that way about
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: your success, and you should feel that way about your happiness.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: That is critical. Man, It's overdue now. It's the time.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: You have to have a sense of urgency your happiness
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: and success. It's critical to your well being. You cannot
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: live without it. That's the mindset you have to have
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: towards your success. If you don't, you're not gonna be successful.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I hate to tell you that what you
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: won't be successful. People feel that way. It's critical. Get
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: critical about your happiness and about your success and get
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: it done. Y'all have a great week. You alright, Steve,
