- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, I sure will. Good morning everybody you're listening
- 0:10Speaker 1: to the voice, come on, dig me now, one and
- 0:12Speaker 1: only Steve Harvey, Man oh Man, got a radio show,
- 0:15Speaker 1: got a good one for you today. And it just
- 0:18Speaker 1: happened to me. You know, I was going through something
- 0:22Speaker 1: that I've been going through for a long long time
- 0:24Speaker 1: and just weary of it all. And I've been talking
- 0:27Speaker 1: to God about it, and I mean for years. Though.
- 0:30Speaker 1: What happened was I had to go through some more
- 0:34Speaker 1: of it yesterday again a situation. But you know what,
- 0:39Speaker 1: after it was over, you know, I kind of laid
- 0:41Speaker 1: in it for a little while. You know how you've
- 0:43Speaker 1: been going through something for so long and then even
- 0:46Speaker 1: if it's over or appears to be over, you still
- 0:48Speaker 1: kind of lay in it a little bit, and you know,
- 0:50Speaker 1: you have a while. Man, I can't believe I've been
- 0:53Speaker 1: dealing with this this long, even though even though it's over.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I don't know how you do it, but this was
- 1:00Speaker 1: for me. Have you ever counted, Steve Harvey, how many
- 1:04Speaker 1: times you made it? And so that's what I started
- 1:07Speaker 1: doing yesterday, and that's what I did this morning. When
- 1:10Speaker 1: I woke up. I was actually taking an inventory account
- 1:14Speaker 1: of how many times I made it? How many times, man,
- 1:19Speaker 1: I didn't have the rent and somehow I came up
- 1:21Speaker 1: with it. How many times I didn't have my house
- 1:24Speaker 1: payment and somehow I came up with it. How many
- 1:28Speaker 1: times I was out of money, did not have enough,
- 1:31Speaker 1: didn't see no way, but somehow I came up with it.
- 1:35Speaker 1: How many times I got sick, thought, well, man, this
- 1:39Speaker 1: one right here. I don't know what I'm gonna do,
- 1:40Speaker 1: but somehow I got my health back. How many situations
- 1:46Speaker 1: I have found myself in? That was I thought at
- 1:50Speaker 1: the time, detrimental and diabolical and man so sinister at times.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Somehow I made it. I look at all the accidents
- 2:01Speaker 1: I've been in, but he kept me. I made it.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I think about even the simplest times of like stepping
- 2:08Speaker 1: off a curve and almost got hit, but I made it.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I was just tripping the other day. I was thinking
- 2:14Speaker 1: about the times that I've been hit by a car
- 2:17Speaker 1: and it could have been worse, but it wasn't, And
- 2:19Speaker 1: I made it through that too. I was thinking about, man,
- 2:22Speaker 1: when they count you out, do you know how many
- 2:25Speaker 1: times I've been counted out? He's done, he ain't gonna
- 2:29Speaker 1: be nothing, he ain't nobody see what I told y'all,
- 2:33Speaker 1: look at over that they counsel this. He offered that
- 2:36Speaker 1: he out of here. He ain't gonna make it. He
- 2:39Speaker 1: didne got fired. Man. You know how many times I've
- 2:41Speaker 1: been counted out? You know how many times they done
- 2:43Speaker 1: wrote me off? How many times have you been written off? Man?
- 2:47Speaker 1: But here you still stand? Yeah, you have a tripped
- 2:49Speaker 1: on it. Take an inventory, y'all of how many times?
- 2:54Speaker 1: Count the times you've made it? What about the times man,
- 2:57Speaker 1: when nobody was there to encourage you? But you they're
- 3:00Speaker 1: still here though you have tripped on that? Ain't nobody
- 3:04Speaker 1: called you and told you good day? No nobody called
- 3:06Speaker 1: you and told you recently thank you. No one's called
- 3:08Speaker 1: you and told you how much you meant to them,
- 3:10Speaker 1: how much you've done for them? Or man, and you
- 3:12Speaker 1: can make it. Never give up. Keep your head up, man,
- 3:15Speaker 1: keep grinding. But you still here even when nobody. Have
- 3:18Speaker 1: you counted the times man that you made it? Anyway?
- 3:23Speaker 1: Have you counted the times that you felt like quitting,
- 3:26Speaker 1: you felt like giving up, you kept going? How about
- 3:30Speaker 1: the time this is a good one right here? How
- 3:32Speaker 1: about the times man, when everybody's standing around saying ain't
- 3:36Speaker 1: no way, ain't no way. Man. I can't tell how
- 3:38Speaker 1: many times I've heard this, ain't no way, and then
- 3:41Speaker 1: somehow there is a way. You know why, because he
- 3:45Speaker 1: make a way. You understand. You know how many times
- 3:49Speaker 1: I've heard this one? Right here, Steve, listen to me, man,
- 3:52Speaker 1: nobody ever before has done that. You can't do that.
- 3:57Speaker 1: How many times you done hurt? No you or you
- 3:59Speaker 1: know anybody that done that. You can't do that. No
- 4:03Speaker 1: one has ever done that. I made it anyway? You know,
- 4:09Speaker 1: they don't normally or we don't normally allow this, but
- 4:16Speaker 1: in this case for you, we gonna make an exception.
- 4:21Speaker 1: How many times have you heard that, Oh, I think
- 4:24Speaker 1: I'm onto something? How many times have you heard in
- 4:27Speaker 1: your lifetime? We don't normally or they don't normally allow this,
- 4:33Speaker 1: but we gonna make this exception in your case. How
- 4:38Speaker 1: many times you done heard that? Have you ever counted
- 4:42Speaker 1: the times that you made it? Everybody out except me?
- 4:50Speaker 1: How can that be? You know you're the only one
- 4:53Speaker 1: that got through this. Congratulations? Wow, man, I don't hardly
- 4:58Speaker 1: see this too many times, But do you realize that
- 5:01Speaker 1: normally this is what happened to people but man, y'all,
- 5:04Speaker 1: I don't know how your name came up, but here
- 5:06Speaker 1: you are. Wow, it never happens like that. You ever
- 5:10Speaker 1: counted those times I was doing it yesterday? I was
- 5:13Speaker 1: doing it this morning. I was just taking an inventory,
- 5:16Speaker 1: everybody of how many times I've made it. So what
- 5:20Speaker 1: I learned yesterday was when God gets you through something,
- 5:25Speaker 1: when he pulled you out on the other side, no
- 5:28Speaker 1: matter how difficult or how long it took. When He
- 5:31Speaker 1: gets you out on the other side, why don't you
- 5:33Speaker 1: get up, dust yourself off, and start trying what you
- 5:38Speaker 1: laying that for? Man wallowing in it, going over it,
- 5:43Speaker 1: recycling it in your mind. So many people can't move
- 5:46Speaker 1: forward because we keep recycling stuff in our mind when
- 5:53Speaker 1: clearly it's time to move on. It's time to let go.
- 5:59Speaker 1: It's time to go and see what God has for you.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Stop looking at what you lost.
- 6:05Speaker 2: What you lost was probably not yours to have in
- 6:09Speaker 2: the first oh.
- 6:11Speaker 1: In the first place. Do you know the things I've lost?
- 6:19Speaker 3: Now?
- 6:19Speaker 1: I'm not talking about losing a loved one, a mother
- 6:21Speaker 1: or father, nothing like that. I'm talking about innate objects,
- 6:26Speaker 1: a situation. Do you know the things I've lost? Man?
- 6:28Speaker 1: I look back on it. I wasn't supposed to have
- 6:30Speaker 1: them in the first place, or they was doing me
- 6:32Speaker 1: no good. I wasn't wasn't mine to lose, but I
- 6:35Speaker 1: claimed I lost it. Come on, man, take an inventory, everybody.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Start looking at the things man, that God has brought
- 6:42Speaker 1: you through. Start looking at how many times He allowed
- 6:44Speaker 1: you to make it, and get glad about waking up
- 6:47Speaker 1: in the morning. Man, Get glad about your life. Start
- 6:49Speaker 1: feeling something positive about your situation. You cannot expect God
- 6:54Speaker 1: to continue to bless you if you're not grateful for
- 6:57Speaker 1: the things that you have. Why would God sitting down
- 7:01Speaker 1: here looking at you, upset, angry, laying in the wall
- 7:07Speaker 1: of what you are not grateful for? You just can't
- 7:11Speaker 1: find the scene and find no gratitude in your heart
- 7:13Speaker 1: about nothing, but you steady asking God for something. So
- 7:16Speaker 1: now you think God is crazy. You think he gonna
- 7:19Speaker 1: give you some more stuff to not be grateful for.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? Why would he do that. He's
- 7:25Speaker 1: too full of too much mercy to send you through that.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Over and over and over. The more I give my child,
- 7:31Speaker 1: the more ungrateful they are, the less gratitude they show.
- 7:35Speaker 1: But I'm gonna keep dumping it on them so they
- 7:37Speaker 1: can keep feeling ungrateful and then show like a gratitude.
- 7:40Speaker 1: God's not gonna do that to you. Come on, man,
- 7:43Speaker 1: have you ever counted how many times you made it?
- 7:49Speaker 1: I can't count how many times God done got me
- 7:52Speaker 1: through something. But when He gets you through it, you
- 7:54Speaker 1: ain't get up and get on about your business. Don't
- 7:57Speaker 1: lay that in it. It's over, it's done, you made it.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Let's go, let's go.
- 8:01Speaker 4: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, bodybuilders, people that ain't built, nobodies,
- 8:18Speaker 1: bodies that want to get built, bodies that used to
- 8:22Speaker 1: be built. Anybody, somebody, everybody. That's what I'm talking to.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Whoever you are. If you can hear me, you're blessed
- 8:35Speaker 1: and how they favored that's a fact. Know that. Let's
- 8:39Speaker 1: start right there. Just why don't you just go with
- 8:41Speaker 1: that right there?
- 8:42Speaker 2: All that what you ain't got, what you wish you had,
- 8:45Speaker 2: what you ain't got to accomplish yet, got all that?
- 8:49Speaker 2: What about what you do have this current moment right
- 8:54Speaker 2: now that a lot of people weren't able to partake here,
- 8:57Speaker 2: but you work. That's a Blessing, Steve Harvey, Morton Show,
- 9:00Speaker 2: Shirty Strawberry, College for Real, Mississippi, Monica Junior and the
- 9:03Speaker 2: Legend of Nephew Tommy Jr.
- 9:05Speaker 1: What's What's what's on your mind today?
- 9:07Speaker 3: Man?
- 9:08Speaker 1: I gotta ask you a question.
- 9:09Speaker 5: You know your success and everything that you are today,
- 9:13Speaker 5: when you made the decision did you make this? How
- 9:17Speaker 5: did you know you made the right decision for your life?
- 9:20Speaker 5: How did you know that you was gonna get in
- 9:21Speaker 5: the com How did you know that?
- 9:24Speaker 1: Well? I'm not really sure that it was knowing more
- 9:30Speaker 1: so than it was a belief. It was a hope.
- 9:37Speaker 1: What is it saying that faith is the.
- 9:41Speaker 5: Substance hope for and the evidence of things not seen.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Faith is the substance of things hope for see. At first,
- 9:51Speaker 1: faith starts off as a hope. It starts off at
- 9:57Speaker 1: the hope, it develops into faith and and it becomes
- 10:00Speaker 1: the evidence of things not seen. Faith is evidence of
- 10:06Speaker 1: stuff you can't see it, and just all of a sudden,
- 10:09Speaker 1: it just starts happening and it becomes evidence but you
- 10:12Speaker 1: ain't see it. So I don't really know that I
- 10:15Speaker 1: started off knowing as I was more just hoping because
- 10:20Speaker 1: I had tried so many things prior to this. I
- 10:24Speaker 1: sold insurance. I sold Amway products, I sold Shackley products.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I sold the Bohemian Dick Gregory diet. I sold Al
- 10:36Speaker 1: Williams insurance. I sold barbeque. I had a carpet cleaning company,
- 10:42Speaker 1: a carpet installation company, a carpet sales company. But it
- 10:50Speaker 1: wasn't because I wasn't trying. But I knew on October eighth,
- 10:58Speaker 1: nineteen eighty five, when I won that fifty dollars, kind
- 11:01Speaker 1: of like a light bulb went off.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I knew this was it for me. Well, well, let
- 11:06Speaker 2: me put it to you this way. This was all
- 11:09Speaker 2: I could think of at that point. I had tried
- 11:11Speaker 2: everything else, So having won the fifty dollars was like
- 11:15Speaker 2: a big moment for me.
- 11:16Speaker 1: It was just like a light bulb went off. It
- 11:19Speaker 1: turned out to be the correct decision. Matter of fact,
- 11:22Speaker 1: after I jumped, I had some serious concerns about this jump.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I had to because my parachute didn't open at all.
- 11:30Speaker 1: By the grace of God, August of Wind got up
- 11:33Speaker 1: under that parachute and lifted me, and then after that
- 11:38Speaker 1: man the rest of its history. Forty years later, here I.
- 11:40Speaker 6: Am all right. Coming up at thirty two minutes after
- 11:44Speaker 6: the hour, we will hear from the pastors with a
- 11:47Speaker 6: word right after this. You're listening Hardy Morning Show.

- 12:59Speaker 1: Yes, let me clear my thoat. Hey man, aymen, we
- 13:13Speaker 1: here gathered in this ostentatious occasion of ambiguity and necessity.
- 13:27Speaker 1: We impostulate you to be with us in a very
- 13:31Speaker 1: more curious way, marxurious, not like a marsupio, but in
- 13:39Speaker 1: a more like a mardubio. We're gonna have a word
- 13:44Speaker 1: from Deacon demn jail before I started preaching, yes past
- 13:50Speaker 1: that we are coming next morning.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Hold on, excuse me, excuse me, let me clear my thoat.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Go ahead, go ahead past it all right now.
- 14:06Speaker 9: We are coming past them from a new addition of
- 14:10Speaker 9: the word, a new addition of the word. And if
- 14:18Speaker 9: you would go to the third chapter, sixteenth birth, it says,
- 14:23Speaker 9: on a perfect day, I know that I can count
- 14:28Speaker 9: on you.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Stop right there, Yes, a serpent, brother Johnny gil to
- 14:39Speaker 1: be exact. That's right, that's right stated or in a
- 14:43Speaker 1: most bar curious way, on a perfect day I know
- 14:50Speaker 1: I can count on you. Yes, we just talked about
- 14:54Speaker 1: perfect days. Now read when that's not possible. Tell me,
- 15:00Speaker 1: can you weather the storm? Stop right there? Probably not?
- 15:07Speaker 1: She starting to sound like a fair weather friend to me.
- 15:13Speaker 2: On a perfect day. I know I can count on you.
- 15:16Speaker 2: But in a storm, tell me where will you be?
- 15:20Speaker 1: Read?
- 15:22Speaker 9: Because I need somebody who will stand by me through
- 15:27Speaker 9: the good times and bad times. She will always always
- 15:34Speaker 9: be right.
- 15:34Speaker 1: There, stop right there. She is a he and he
- 15:44Speaker 1: is jee way.
- 15:47Speaker 4: I know that now.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I'm just saying, we go back to the song. Yes,
- 15:55Speaker 1: but if you need somebody there through thick and thin,
- 15:58Speaker 1: all the weather and rain, you need the low.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Funny days.
- 16:03Speaker 9: Everybody loves them.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Stop right there? Or who don't like it when it
- 16:08Speaker 1: ain't sonny?
- 16:12Speaker 7: Tell me, baby, can you stand the rain?
- 16:16Speaker 1: Stop right there? Like I said, probably not. If you
- 16:19Speaker 1: gotta ask somebody, can they stand in the rain, it's
- 16:23Speaker 1: probably called they ain't never stood in the rain? Ye,
- 16:28Speaker 1: storms will come this we know for sure. Can you
- 16:34Speaker 1: stand the rain? Stop right there? If the storms is coming? Yeah, sir, Yes, sir?
- 16:40Speaker 1: Does a guarantee one hundred yes, sir, of course you
- 16:46Speaker 1: can you stand the rain?
- 16:51Speaker 3: Rea?
- 16:52Speaker 1: Now here.
- 16:52Speaker 9: It is passing love unconditional. I'm not asking just of
- 16:58Speaker 9: you stop right there to make it last.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I do whatever needs to be done. Okay, go right
- 17:06Speaker 1: and stop right there now we we we we were
- 17:09Speaker 1: on to it now. Yeah, yeah ah. I was talking
- 17:13Speaker 1: about love unconditioned, yes, meaning will you have it for
- 17:18Speaker 1: me no matter what the condition. Yeah. But I see
- 17:24Speaker 1: right now you move into sunny day more of a
- 17:31Speaker 1: fair old weather type chick. And that's why I propose
- 17:38Speaker 1: the song can you Stand Drain? I don't really think
- 17:48Speaker 1: you can. But let's go a little further and see three.
- 17:53Speaker 9: But I need somebody who will stand by me when
- 17:59Speaker 9: it's it's tough. She won't run, she will always beat
- 18:05Speaker 9: right therefter.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Me stop right there. See if he's a man who
- 18:10Speaker 1: then had somebody that took off on it, that's right.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Split the scene got caught up. Yes, and when it
- 18:21Speaker 1: wasn't a dream, nah, he came up with this song
- 18:27Speaker 1: and said, I need somebody to stand by me. I
- 18:33Speaker 1: just want to know if it's you or not. That's
- 18:35Speaker 1: why I wrote the song can you Stand the Rain?
- 18:40Speaker 10: Right now?
- 18:41Speaker 1: It ain't looking good cause I ain't heard you say
- 18:43Speaker 1: yes yet.
- 18:45Speaker 4: I ain't heard.
- 18:46Speaker 1: You talk about bring on the storms. I ain't heard
- 18:49Speaker 1: you have for umbrella, nothing of the sort. You steal
- 18:53Speaker 1: in the cop talking about your hat. I to get
- 18:55Speaker 1: with that?
- 18:56Speaker 4: Ain't what I read.
- 19:00Speaker 9: Sunny days, everybody loves them, baby?
- 19:05Speaker 1: Can you stand the rain? Start right there? We keep
- 19:09Speaker 1: talking about them sunny days, and Roy Ass said it.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Everybody loves the sunshine, Yes, sir, a way. And now
- 19:21Speaker 1: we pose the question, can you stand the rain? Get
- 19:26Speaker 1: you a dog skiing woman, feel somebody that's wanting to
- 19:29Speaker 1: go through somethings? Them light skin girls ain't gonna stand.
- 19:32Speaker 4: You won't get the rain.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I'm telling your head right now, you're.

- 21:34Speaker 6: Diana in Southfield writes, My boyfriend loves to call me
- 21:38Speaker 6: all day to talk when he could text me instead.
- 21:42Speaker 6: He always starts out with where are you? Is he
- 21:45Speaker 6: keeping tabs on me? Or what can I ignore his calls?
- 21:50Speaker 10: Well?
- 21:51Speaker 1: You can ignore him, but the opening line is where
- 21:53Speaker 1: are you?
- 21:55Speaker 6: He's keeping tabs, just like where are you?
- 22:00Speaker 4: All right?
- 22:01Speaker 1: Because if I don't care about you, I don't care
- 22:03Speaker 1: where you're at. See what you're saying the concern and care. Okay,

- 22:17Speaker 6: can have a threesome, and she picked the woman. She
- 22:20Speaker 6: picked my female best friend. I'm afraid that when we
- 22:24Speaker 6: have sex, my wife will see that my friend and
- 22:27Speaker 6: I already have sexual chemistry. The word don't say a word,
- 22:32Speaker 6: Steve Harvey, is this a bad idea? Now you may
- 22:37Speaker 6: speak what?
- 22:40Speaker 4: Well?

- 22:55Speaker 1: Her boyfriend came in with a male friend of his,
- 23:00Speaker 1: saw her and just walked out. She said, you could
- 23:04Speaker 1: have came over and spoke. He said that he looked
- 23:08Speaker 1: jealous by walking out. Yeah, because he know what's up.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Now here we are again some old friends. So now
- 23:16Speaker 1: he turned fifty, his wife said he could have a
- 23:19Speaker 1: threesome for his birthday. But she picked the girl, and
- 23:22Speaker 1: she picked his best friend who is a girl now
- 23:27Speaker 1: who they already have sexual tension.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Yeah, but you've got to have this a bad idea.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Well it was your wife's idea. He got to explain
- 23:42Speaker 1: something to you, though, Dog, when it's you and your

- 24:15Speaker 4: His own movie himself.
- 24:19Speaker 10: Down.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Hey, nobody talking to you. Sit down, get somewhere.

- 24:46Speaker 1: you gotta say you should just say no, I don't
- 24:49Speaker 1: because she's just a friend of mine.
- 24:51Speaker 4: I don't want to Yeah, pick somebody up.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know that that's what you want. Ain't

- 25:16Speaker 1: Third person and your wife gonna be there the whole time.
- 25:21Speaker 1: But you cannot do is going there with no extra clowning? Boy, boy,

- 25:39Speaker 1: I appreciate that, but no, I don't want that introduced
- 25:43Speaker 1: into our marriage. That loving too much and just gonna
- 25:47Speaker 1: get out of that dog.
- 25:49Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, all right. Moving on to Shelby and Florence,
- 25:57Speaker 6: Shelby writes, my husband isn't speaking to me because I
- 26:00Speaker 6: fell asleep on him while we were intimate. I had
- 26:03Speaker 6: taken coal mad. But I still try to please him.
- 26:06Speaker 6: I've tried to make it up to him. How could
- 26:09Speaker 6: his pride be so hurt when he knows it was
- 26:11Speaker 6: the medication?
- 26:13Speaker 1: Well, but he was giving it his all. That's the problem.
- 26:17Speaker 10: And you.
- 26:20Speaker 1: But you snoring?
- 26:23Speaker 4: Yeah, but in cole mad she probably won.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Dog, dog, you ain't doing nothing. I don't care what

- 26:32Speaker 1: with me. I got too much going on now. I
- 26:35Speaker 1: don't know how you're gonna sleep with your ankle over
- 26:37Speaker 1: there by your ear. But if you can't, oh.
- 26:40Speaker 4: Wow, okay, so he's still mad? How could she make
- 26:51Speaker 4: it up to him?
- 26:53Speaker 6: Ah?
- 26:57Speaker 1: What you're gonna have to prove is what you're gonna
- 27:00Speaker 1: have to do is make him think it was him
- 27:02Speaker 1: that puts you to sleep. What you're gonna have to
- 27:04Speaker 1: do is, next time y'all get busy together, you're gonna

- 31:01Speaker 4: Moving on from trying to move on.
- 31:04Speaker 6: Before boarding commercial flights, you are advised, you know, not
- 31:07Speaker 6: to bring lithium batteries onto the plane and your carry
- 31:10Speaker 6: on bags.
- 31:11Speaker 4: And here is why, guys.
- 31:13Speaker 6: Last week, on a flight headed to Seoul, South Korea,
- 31:16Speaker 6: a lithium battery in the overhead compartment burst into flames
- 31:20Speaker 6: mid air about forty five minutes into the flight. Smoking
- 31:23Speaker 6: flames began pouring from the lithium battery packed in a
- 31:26Speaker 6: passenger's carry on bag, and witnesses say they heard a
- 31:30Speaker 6: loud pop before the flames erupted, filling the cabin with
- 31:34Speaker 6: thick smoke. Flight attendants raced down the aisle with fire extinguishers,
- 31:40Speaker 6: urging passengers to stay seated. The plane made an emergency
- 31:44Speaker 6: landing in Shanghai. Fortunately, very fortunately.
- 31:47Speaker 4: No one was hurt in this incident. So no lithium batteries.
- 31:51Speaker 4: It's the moral of that story. And you carry it
- 31:55Speaker 4: all right.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Finally, tell you one thing. Everybody else there was trying
- 32:03Speaker 1: to put that fire out though.
- 32:04Speaker 6: Oh yeah, that's scary. That's scary very much. So yeah,
- 32:08Speaker 6: come here in the air.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Yeah yeah.
- 32:11Speaker 6: And finally, the next time you consider whether or not
- 32:14Speaker 6: to attend someone's funeral and think they won't know if
- 32:17Speaker 6: I'm there or not, well you need to think again.
- 32:20Speaker 6: A seventy four year old man in India recently faked
- 32:24Speaker 6: his death and staged a mock funeral.
- 32:28Speaker 4: Yes, he just.
- 32:29Speaker 6: Wanted to see who would attend his funeral. I mean,
- 32:32Speaker 6: people were stunned to learn that the man had died.
- 32:35Speaker 6: Little did they know he staged the entire thing with
- 32:37Speaker 6: a fake death certificate and a fake funeral announcement. The
- 32:42Speaker 6: man's friends and family were shocked at his fake funeral
- 32:45Speaker 6: when he suddenly sat up in his coffin. What that's
- 32:52Speaker 6: how you know it was about.
- 32:53Speaker 1: That's how you get killed though, So you can't do
- 32:55Speaker 1: stuff like that. You can't do That's how you know
- 32:58Speaker 1: it wasn't.
- 32:59Speaker 4: That's how you know that. That's right.
- 33:01Speaker 1: They began would have been the end of report. They
- 33:04Speaker 1: began what.
- 33:05Speaker 6: They became outraged. Once they outraged, outrage, they became out.
- 33:16Speaker 13: Up.
- 33:17Speaker 1: No, no, no, we out ain't no outrage outside.
- 33:20Speaker 4: Yeah, we have left the building for sure, discussing. Yeah,
- 33:27Speaker 4: they realized it was all fake.
- 33:29Speaker 6: The man explained to them that he just wanted to
- 33:31Speaker 6: see how much respect and affection he would get. Meanwhile,
- 33:35Speaker 6: authorities are deciding whether or not any laws were broken.
- 33:40Speaker 1: You can't say, well, I'll tell you one thing. I
- 33:42Speaker 1: hope you enjoyed that one, because that second one ain't. Nobody.
- 33:46Speaker 4: Nobody's gonna come empty house. That's crazy. They sat up
- 33:55Speaker 4: and did what though, smile, high sting, thank you all
- 34:05Speaker 4: for coming.
- 34:09Speaker 1: And talking.
- 34:11Speaker 4: Yes, did what that was?
- 34:15Speaker 1: Did lotty just set up? Did you see letty sit up?
- 34:17Speaker 1: But I mean knocking over everything? It ain't a flowers
- 34:22Speaker 1: set up? Right, candle casket turned over, The preacher gone
- 34:28Speaker 1: not what we do. We don't play with that man
- 34:33Speaker 1: standing empty. There's somebody gonna knock him.
- 34:37Speaker 4: Smooth out.
- 34:39Speaker 1: You don't let people just running down the street just screaming.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Capacitor left his bible.

- 41:58Speaker 2: quit talking to us about being angry, beever mad.
- 42:01Speaker 6: We have a reason to be huh, yes we do, yes,

- 42:11Speaker 6: Are you dating someone you know? Will you be celebrating
- 42:14Speaker 6: it with a man in your life?

- 54:48Speaker 4: That was like coming in hot.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Okay, right right, thanks Carla.
- 54:53Speaker 6: Subject, get somewhere and sit down, okay, Stephen Shirley. I'm
- 54:58Speaker 6: a sixty year old single mother. My son is thirty
- 55:01Speaker 6: two and he has been a single father since his
- 55:04Speaker 6: first wife passed away four years ago. My granddaughter is
- 55:07Speaker 6: fourteen years old and she's with me during the week
- 55:11Speaker 6: and she goes back to her dad's house on the weekend.
- 55:14Speaker 6: My son has started back dating and he wants to
- 55:17Speaker 6: be married again. He says he doesn't function well as
- 55:20Speaker 6: a single man. I have nothing to do with his
- 55:23Speaker 6: love life, but I have everything to do with how
- 55:26Speaker 6: his daughter is raised, and I don't think he should
- 55:28Speaker 6: be introducing her to all kinds of women while she's
- 55:32Speaker 6: still in the grieving process. This new girl he's dating
- 55:36Speaker 6: is very simplistic and materialistic. She's got her own money,
- 55:41Speaker 6: so she's not asking for anything from my son. But
- 55:44Speaker 6: it's the way she carries herself that is on my nerves.
- 55:47Speaker 6: She and I don't see eye to eye on a
- 55:49Speaker 6: lot of things. She has a sixteen year old daughter
- 55:52Speaker 6: that she leaves alone overnight to go play house with
- 55:55Speaker 6: our son. Her daughter has a brand new car and
- 55:59Speaker 6: she lets her run with her friends all over town.
- 56:02Speaker 6: The only time my granddaughter has quality time with her
- 56:06Speaker 6: with her dad is on the weekends, and this new
- 56:08Speaker 6: woman is always around and in the way. My granddaughter
- 56:12Speaker 6: sees through her and gets irritated when this woman plays
- 56:15Speaker 6: rap music and knows all the lyrics.
- 56:18Speaker 1: She feels like the.
- 56:19Speaker 6: Woman is trying too hard. She's visited at my house
- 56:22Speaker 6: with my son and runs around waiting on my son
- 56:25Speaker 6: hand and foot, and I had to tell her to
- 56:27Speaker 6: get somewhere and sit down. I have never seen a
- 56:30Speaker 6: woman try so hard, and her intentions may be good,
- 56:34Speaker 6: but she has to.
- 56:35Speaker 4: Fall back a bit.
- 56:36Speaker 6: I think my son is falling for her representative and
- 56:39Speaker 6: not the real woman. How can I get him to
- 56:42Speaker 6: pump the breaks? Okay, grandmother, your intentions might be right,
- 56:48Speaker 6: but you need to fall back a little bit. I mean,
- 56:51Speaker 6: I agree your son doesn't need to introduce her daughter
- 56:55Speaker 6: or his daughter, I should say to a lot of
- 56:56Speaker 6: random women, because grief is a process and it takes time.
- 57:02Speaker 6: And although it has been four years, grief is different
- 57:05Speaker 6: for everyone. And your granddaughter his daughter is only fourteen,
- 57:09Speaker 6: so that means her mother passed when she was just
- 57:12Speaker 6: ten years old. So let her have a moment. Okay,
- 57:15Speaker 6: she's obviously still working through some things in her young life. Now,
- 57:20Speaker 6: your son wants to remarry, you said, but he's got
- 57:23Speaker 6: to make sure his daughter is good, and he has
- 57:26Speaker 6: to make sure this woman is a good fit for
- 57:28Speaker 6: their family. His daughter needs him, Yes she has you, grandmother,
- 57:33Speaker 6: thank god, But daddy has to learn how to divide
- 57:36Speaker 6: his time and make his time count and make quality
- 57:39Speaker 6: time between his new girlfriend and his daughter, who again
- 57:43Speaker 6: is only fourteen. Is this new woman even trying to
- 57:46Speaker 6: connect with the daughter?
- 57:48Speaker 4: Is she doing that?
- 57:49Speaker 6: Is she ready to take on the role of stepmom
- 57:52Speaker 6: mom or is she just concentrating on being with the dad.
- 57:55Speaker 6: It doesn't sound like she is according to your letter.
- 57:58Speaker 6: It sounds like according to you, she's only interested in
- 58:01Speaker 6: your son and not his daughter. But again, all you
- 58:06Speaker 6: can do is talk.
- 58:07Speaker 4: To your son.
- 58:08Speaker 6: You can try to reason with him and make suggestions
- 58:11Speaker 6: on how he should handle this very delicate situation. You
- 58:14Speaker 6: can't go in too hard against this woman because your
- 58:18Speaker 6: son does like her and he's considering marriage. He wants
- 58:22Speaker 6: to remarry, and it sounds like it might she might
- 58:24Speaker 6: be the one. So he needs your non emotional voice
- 58:28Speaker 6: of reason right now. That might make a difference in
- 58:31Speaker 6: the woman he chooses to be with, and if it's her,
- 58:35Speaker 6: you know, just be reasonable, talk to him, don't be
- 58:38Speaker 6: all emotional talking about the woman and all that, because again,
- 58:41Speaker 6: he likes her.
- 58:42Speaker 1: Steve, Well, get somewhere and sit down.
- 58:46Speaker 2: This is a letter about a mother that doesn't like
- 58:49Speaker 2: the choice of women her son is making.
- 58:53Speaker 1: That's all this letter is about. Now it's masked with
- 58:58Speaker 1: a lot of other stuff, and I will point this
- 59:01Speaker 1: out to you as we go along. First of all,
- 59:04Speaker 1: I'm a sixty year old single mother. But I didn't
- 59:09Speaker 1: know that was a turn. I thought that when your
- 59:14Speaker 1: son is thirty two and you sick, I think you
- 59:19Speaker 1: can stop saying that at one point. It's like when
- 59:22Speaker 1: the baby is thirty eight months old. Come on, now,
- 59:25Speaker 1: we need some years. We got we got to quit
- 59:28Speaker 1: doing months now, you know, we got to stop doing
- 59:31Speaker 1: you know, you know I'm eleven weeks pregnant. That's good.
- 59:37Speaker 1: At one point you got to be seven months, you know,
- 59:41Speaker 1: we just it's just a conversion. So I'm confused with that.
- 59:45Speaker 1: I'm a sixty year old single mother referring to yourself
- 59:49Speaker 1: as a single mother, meaning that you have to raise
- 59:53Speaker 1: a child on your own. That's what being a single
- 59:56Speaker 1: parent on mother representation to me. It's just my O.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: She may be single and a mother, that's cool, but
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: don't use that because the boy thirty two.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: I didn't know you even be stuck on that.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: Hey, like you gotta take us to soccer practice.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: You got to come up with field trip money and
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: you're just struggling with it.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: So what should she have said?
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: Just a sixty year old single woman.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: My son is thirty two, that's all. Don't try to
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: draw us in with the I'm a sixty year old
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: single mother to draw like, oh wow, how long she
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: been doing? That's all right, here we go. She said that.
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: We'll have part two.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: You can see what I'm saying.
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: A minute, we'll have part two of team's response.
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: Because he's just stuck on the first line on the
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: strawberry letter.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Can't get off of it. It's gonna take just come
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: tell tale the rest of the left.
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: All right, we'll have part two of your response coming
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: up Steve at twenty three minutes after the hour. Today's
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: title is one that's hoose to my heart of this
- 1:01:01Speaker 6: strawberry letter. Get somewhere and sit down. We'll get back
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: into it with Steve's response right after this.
- 1:01:07Speaker 13: You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: Hey everyone, quick health question. Even though you're still thriving,
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: still loving, still connecting, did you know your immune system
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: weakens with age. That's where vaccines come in. They help
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: train and strengthen your immune response to fight off certain
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: respiratory illnesses like flu, new Macaco, pneumonia, RSV, and COVID
- 1:01:33Speaker 6: nineteen this fall, ask your doctor which vaccines you need
- 1:01:37Speaker 6: and visit vaxsist dot com that's vaexsist dot com to
- 1:01:41Speaker 6: schedule one or more of vaccines sponsored by Pfizer. Come on,
- 1:01:46Speaker 6: Steve Let's recap today's strawberry letter. The subject get somewhere
- 1:01:50Speaker 6: and sit down.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Well, this sixty year old single mother. That didn't have
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: to mention that to us, because when you single mother,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: I'm thinking of your raising children on your own. Her
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: boy is thirty two, so that's a term I disagree with.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: My son is thirty two and he's been a single
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: father since his first wife passed away four years ago.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Very important. My granddaughter's fourteen, and she's with me during
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: the week and she goes back to her dad's house
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: on the weekend. My son has started back dating and
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: he wants to be married again. He says he doesn't
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: function well as a single man. I have nothing to
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: do with his love life. This is not true, because
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: you do. I have nothing to do with his love life.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: But the rest of his letter is all about his
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: love life. But I have everything to do with how
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: his daughter is raised, and I don't think he should
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: be introducing her to all kinds of women while she's
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: still in the grieving process. Now, I understand that statement
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: that this woman is making, and I understand that the
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: little girl is still dealing with it even after four years,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: because it's something you almost never get over. I understand that.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: But this man has been grieving for four years too,
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: but he's ready to move forward. He should be allowed
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: to date. Now, you made a statement that I don't
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: think he should be introducing her to all kinds of
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: women while she's still in the grieving process. But that
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: ain't what this letter is about. You immediately go This
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: new girl he's dating is very simplistic and materialistic. Excuse me,
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: make up your mind, mama. She's either simplistic or materialistic.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: Simplistic means very simple things are essentials, doesn't care about
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: extra Materialistic is the direct opposite. So I'm not really
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: sure you even know what you're talking about. She's got
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: her own money, okay, so she's not asking for anything
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: from my son. So what you're saying is this woman
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: brings plenty to the table outside of being what could
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: be a very good woman, But it's the way she
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: carries herself that gets on my nerves. You just said
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: in the letter that you don't you don't want to
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: get into your son's love life is none of your business.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: Just raising the daughter is. But now I don't like
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: the way the way she carries herself gets on my nerves.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: She and I don't see eye to eye on a
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: lot of things. She has a sixteen year old daughter
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: that she leaves alone overnight to go play house with
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: my son. Sixteen year olds can stay home by theyself.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Sixteen year olds can stay home. Technology now makes it
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: where a sixteen year old can stay home by theyself.
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: I did it when we didn't have to.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Tell Yeah, I had to stay home and big and
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: I tell you what, here was the rule. When I
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: get back this house better be just like I left it.
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: That's right, that's right, that's right.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Her daughter has a brand new car and she lets
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: her run wild with her friends all over time. Does
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: she really or does the girl just have a brand
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: new car and can drive to visit her.
- 1:05:10Speaker 10: Girl?
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Ain't no reputation or nothing. You letting her run? That's
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: not what it is. The Only time my granddaughter has
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: quality time with her dad is on the weekends, and
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: this new woman is always around and in the way.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Excuse me, but this man's every weekend can't be for
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: his daughter. I'm sorry, that's not y'all can say that
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: if you want to, but don't nobody do that. The
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: girl is fourteen. She probably has friends, has a life
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: on her own FaceTime, probably got a phone. All this here,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: I got news for you. Once they reach that teenage years,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: they don't really want to be sitting around yo.
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: At that month, they really don't.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: They visit.
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: Yes, they have their own friends they have.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: The new woman is always around and in the way.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: My granddaughter sees through her and gets irritated when this
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: woman plays rap music and knows all the lyrics. Well,
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: you can't know the lyrics unless you know the lyrics.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: You know, they're in their thirties, that's all. She grew
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: up on hip hop.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: Yeah, she feels like the woman is trying too hard.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it's called effort. She's visited at my house with
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: my sons and runs around waiting on my son head
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: and foot, and I had to tell her to go
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: somewhere and sit down. Okay, So now the woman caters
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: to your son. You don't like that. She got her
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: own money. You don't like that. Okay, she's simplistic, you
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: don't like that. And she materialistic, you don't like that.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: And now she come over to your house running around
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: waiting on your son, and you don't like that. I
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: have never seen a woman try so hard, and her
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: intentions may be good. I think her intentions are just fine.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: And if you don't want her to try hard, what
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: you want her to do. But she had to fall
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: back a bit. And I think my son is falling
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: for her representative and not the real woman. Well, time
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: will tell you because the representative k stay fail. How
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: can I get him to pump the break? Well, let's
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: start with you need the pump to break. Yeah, your
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: son wants to be married. Let him figure it out.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: Every weekend, k B for the kids, her sixteen year
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: old can stay home alone. And you're wrong because you
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: don't even really know this woman. And that's why YO
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: is a sixty year old single mother. That's exactly why
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: this is a sixty year old single mother.
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: Post your comments have Steve on Today's Strawberry Letter at
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: Steve BARBFM on Instagram and Facebook and check out the
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: Strawberry Letter podcast on demand. Coming up next, it is
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: Junior and Sports Talk. Right after this. Hey, this is
- 1:07:59Speaker 6: Mary Ja.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: What's up? Yarns is?
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: Let us see what I've thought.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: It's your boy's a big snoop dog and you're listening
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:08:06Speaker 6: It is you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: This is Shirley's Strawberry and I'm partnering with the lead.
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: Let me tell you it couldn't have come at a
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: better time. I'm ove some furniture around last weekend in
- 1:08:19Speaker 6: my new place. It turns out that was a really
- 1:08:22Speaker 6: bad idea because all that bending and lifting and pretending
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: I'm still twenty five didn't.
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: Agree with my knees though.
- 1:08:29Speaker 6: I grabbed a lead because when my body pain shows up,
- 1:08:32Speaker 6: I need something that lasts. With just one pill. A
- 1:08:35Speaker 6: lead lasts up to twelve hours. Don't let those aches
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: and pains hold you back from doing what's important to you.
- 1:08:40Speaker 6: Use as directed.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: It is time now for Junior and Sports Talk. What
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: you got Junior, Well, Shirley, guess who's back.
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: Michael Jordan is back with the NBA on NBC.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: I don't know if y'all saw it last week.
- 1:08:52Speaker 5: With tomorrow he's gonna have another installment. Well, Michael George
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: is talking basketball. He said you wanted to give back
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: to basketball. Here's a question, and don't do you really
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: want Michael Jordan talking about you?
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: Because he the greatest basketball player ever? Is't that? Can
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: he really? Is he really gonna be impressed with the
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: NBA today?
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Good question?
- 1:09:13Speaker 10: Is he?
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: Good question? Because you know load management is big in
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: the NBA now.
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: You know, everybody's playing all eighty two games like he
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: had to play all eighty two games.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: You know, Mike didn't take no time off. But it's
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: a different game now, it's a different athlete, it's a
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: different mindset. And I just think that hearing from the
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: old school cats lends perspective to what's going on now.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: And a lot of times these young guys don't want
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: to hear from the old heads. It's people that think
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: that that Charles Barkley wasn't nothing when what my god, man,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: it's it's young cats now that don't get it. Barkley
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: don't get it. It's it's it's players who have said
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: they would have abused Larry Bird they don't know the
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: abuse that they would have suffered going up against this man.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: So you know, it's it's sort of weird. It's almost
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: like this little comedy thing between Eddie and Kevin. You know,
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: you gotta you gotta respect the legends in the game.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: I mean absolutely, you just got to give him that
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: respect because I don't care what we do. We ain't
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: finna do what Eddie did.
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: God, that's one talent brother right there. And you know
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: I love both of them. I just think it got
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: got that spoken out of turn. If you don't know
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: what I'm talking about. It was, you know, Kevin had
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: made a Eddie had made a comment that comedy is
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: different now Kevin Hart is but is good. But all
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: that screaming ain't comedy on stage, you know, it's cardio.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: And Kevin snapped back with, hey man, you from the
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: eighties U on VHS taps, relaxed, Grandpa, it's different now, blah.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Blah blah blah blah, you know, tapes and all this hit.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: And I just thanking god it because I love both
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: of them, kat and and Kevin has an incredible work ethic.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: But let me tell you something though, Eddie Murphy off
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: limits when it comes to this comedy thing. If you
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: really understand who this dude.
- 1:11:34Speaker 11: Was and is.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he picked with somebody else.
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 1:11:43Speaker 6: Coming up at the top of the hour, steved wife
- 1:11:45Speaker 6: wants her husband to stop watching porn all over the house.
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: We'll get into that.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: You gotta pick a spot, though. You can't just be
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: in the living room.
- 1:11:56Speaker 6: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. This is
- 1:12:02Speaker 6: from Angie and Laurel. Angie says, my husband loves watching
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: explicit movies and I've warned him about where he watches them.
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: Our ten year old son was apparently sneaking around and
- 1:12:14Speaker 6: saw snippets of one of his dad's movies, and he
- 1:12:17Speaker 6: went to school and told his friends about it.
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: This is embarrassing to me as.
- 1:12:22Speaker 6: A mom, but my husband said, it's part of our
- 1:12:25Speaker 6: sons growing up.
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: Is it really? Is that how we should let our
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: son learn about sex?
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: Not at ten? Not at ten? You out of bounce, partner,
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: and you know this, and you see you can't. Here's
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: a deal.
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: There's levels, mental levels to life where you are capable
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: at certain stages in life of handling certain information. When
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: you expose a person too early to information that he
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: can't possibly know, the total ramification, constant squences of in actions.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: You're doing a disservice to him because now he got
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: some stuff going on in his head. Don't even really
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: need to be there now because of the Internet. You know,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: we can't protect our children like we used to. They
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: gonna see all this stuff. But if you're not sitting
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: down having real conversations with your kids, you can get
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: ready for them to make some decisions that you ain't
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: gonna be privy to and you're not gonna agree with it.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: But that's ignorant.
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: Though to say that about your ten year old son,
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: that's completely ignorant.
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: All right, moving on, Steve, we have time for another one.
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: This is from.
- 1:13:36Speaker 6: Julian in Saint Louis. Julian says, I'm dating a woman
- 1:13:40Speaker 6: with a foul mouth. She uses profanity all the time
- 1:13:44Speaker 6: and calls her friends bees. She called my best friend's
- 1:13:47Speaker 6: wife the bee word, and his wife corrected her and
- 1:13:50Speaker 6: said she doesn't talk to her friends like that. Now
- 1:13:53Speaker 6: my girlfriend has beef with this woman over nothing. How
- 1:13:57Speaker 6: do I get my girlfriend to see how offensive she is?
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: You need a new girlfriend, though, for real, dog, this
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: this is your girlfriend. She created beef everywhere, she got
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: a foul mouth. How are you going to introduce her
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: to your mama? Shouldn't take.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: You?
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: Say it over there? Now? I know she doing some
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: things to you that you know I know, and they're
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: talking to you crazy. I know all that's crazy. Now
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: that's good in the bedroom. But we just we're on
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: our way to church right now.
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: What are you doing, lady?
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Can you back this down before we get to the
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: dough to the lord's house.
- 1:14:50Speaker 4: That's funny?
- 1:14:53Speaker 6: Yeah, alright, so he did. He didn't ask should he
- 1:14:56Speaker 6: should he dump her or break up with her? He said,
- 1:14:59Speaker 6: how do I get my girlfriend to see how offensive
- 1:15:02Speaker 6: she is?
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: I mean, why would I want to date an offensive girlfriend? Right? Yeah? Yeah, bruh,
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: you can't make a better choice.
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: Yeah you can't.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: You can't find a woman that has manners? I think
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: you can. Yeah, I'm not.
- 1:15:26Speaker 14: I'm not.
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: I'm not dating a disrespectful woman because I don't.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: I don't. I've I've never had a woman that allowed
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: me to be disrespectful. M h, and I cuss a lot.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: I had a girl tell me, hey, when we go
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: for my mama's house, can you not cuss?
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: I said that down.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I said, okay, because you can't go for nobody
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: house cussing like you want to.
- 1:15:55Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah, your suggestion is a new girlfriend.
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't have any fight out. They do cuss
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: Do you participated? Oh let me tell you something. I
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: went over our house that it was in there cussing,
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: but I said no, I'm not going to participate, and
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: they told me not to.
- 1:16:16Speaker 6: This is a trap.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: Yeahah, this is a trick.
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: Boy.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, boy, Bay and Blake.
- 1:16:28Speaker 10: Gay.
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: No, you can't do that one.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: Don't participate.
- 1:16:37Speaker 6: Yeah, all right, coming up in twenty minutes after, we'll
- 1:16:41Speaker 6: have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: Right after this, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.

- 1:17:03Speaker 6: That's twenty twenty six. This is a five percent increase
- 1:17:06Speaker 6: in the last year, and industry experts say the interest
- 1:17:10Speaker 6: in sailing is fueled by new ships with over the
- 1:17:14Speaker 6: top amenities and a growing appetite for all inclusive floating vacations.
- 1:17:19Speaker 6: The majority of passengers are fifty five and older and

- 1:17:45Speaker 1: was lovely, and they had five star restaurant on there
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: that you could only eat at once a week. I
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: changed that because every night, Hell, I'm heave you sit
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: up here, eat at the five star restaurant one time.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: Give other people a chance. Man, dang what this is?
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: And so I went and I enjoyed it. But see,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: I've only done it at that level with VIP suites
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: and stuff like that, so I don't know what it
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: is for to get the regular inside cabin. But this way,

- 1:21:26Speaker 4: You draw the line.
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: You're not fitting there.
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: Crack on me like you we out on the streets somewhere.

- 1:21:38Speaker 4: Day, on.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: The last day on earth. Nobody could have heard me
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: talk back to my mama, not her, my brothers, sisters,

- 1:21:55Speaker 4: Would you rather be called the N word by your
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: male friends or the B word word in word about

- 1:22:10Speaker 5: word in in word all day long.
- 1:22:12Speaker 4: Okay, all right? Would you rather wor my boys.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Come to the rich? You can't count the INN word?

- 1:23:11Speaker 4: Thank you to our audience.
- 1:23:12Speaker 6: We love you so much.
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 1:23:14Speaker 6: They've been writing with us, Steve for a long time years,
- 1:23:18Speaker 6: a long time, you know.
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: Kind of leads me to my closing remarks too, because
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: it has been a long time, and anybody who has
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: been a fan of mine for any length of time,
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: I appreciate you.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: But you've seen the change.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: I can't tell you how many times people say, Steve,
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: I've seen the change in you over the years, because
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: it has been a change, and most of it was intentional.
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: And one of the things I'm.
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: Probably most proud of is that I do not have
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: a fear of reinventing myself.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: I'm always looking for way to do something different. You know,
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to take a little credit here because
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: when it comes to comedians on radio, I started that
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: trend back in the nineties.
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: On one seven five WGCI. I was a comedian on
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: the radio. I remember this guy, David Kenton, who ran
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: the Tom Joyner Morning Show, and I used to sit
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: in for Doug Banks in the afternoons.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: On radio just to promote my comedy shows.
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: Well, I was doing such a good job they asked
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: me to sit in for Doug Banks often, and I
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: just go up to Chicago.
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: So finally Tom Joyner left WGC. I had to do
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: something else. Tom Johner was considered the fly job. Tom
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: Joyner was the greatest DJ on planet Earth. Him and
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: Donnie Simpson were the two greatest DJs on planet and
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: Frederick Frankie Crockett up in New York.
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: These dudes was the legends. And then there was a
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: boy on V one O three Ken, Uh what's Ken's name?
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: Old dude with the dusties, O Herb kN Herb kent
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: Herb kN Yeah, yeah, oh man. Them boys right there
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: schooled me. But anyway, uh, they offered me morning Drive
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: in Chicago, and I went up there and it writ
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: really really well. David Cantor said, he's just a comedian.
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: We will mop the floor with him. Well, I created
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: this thing called the Top ten and the flow mopping
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: began and it wasn't me that was getting mopped. I
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: had a mop and I was up there doing some
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: things in Chicago. One thing led to another, something happened,
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: and then I went to Los Angeles and I got
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: on radio full time, and that launched comedians on radio
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: after me. They went and got Sinbad. They went and
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: got George pez Lopez, they went and got our Tyro Shelter.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: They wentn't got my boy, George Wilburn out of Chicago.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: They went and got George Wallace, They got everybody because
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: they thought, well, since comedians work on radio, would just
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: plug a comedian in. But they didn't know that. I
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: understood one thing about radio that nobody else understood. That
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: radio was theater of the mind. And I changed the
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: way it was done. And I just have to take
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: a little bit of credit for that. But I thank
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: God for that, because he gave me the fearlessness to
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: not be afraid to reinvent yourself. When I did radio
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: in Los Angeles, my boy Big Boy, who he and
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: ore super cool now Big Boy stated there's no way
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: he'll come to LA and beat me. The Steve Harvey
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: Morning Show on one hundred point three to Beat with
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Shirley Strawberry became the number one radio show in Los Angeles.
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: Me and Big Boy became really cool friends after that.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: Big Boys one of the great radio giants in the
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: business today. So when I mentioned radio giants, you gotta
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: say big Boy. Big Boy out there in the La Boy,
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: he's a monster, still still doing the thing now, one
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: of the great radio guys. But then in two thousand
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: and five, somebody told me that they will get riddle
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: me out of radio and I'll never rise again, and
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: I will personally see to it. And I know who
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: it was, but I ain't got to say no names.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: But that didn't work either, because you are not the
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: architect and author of my life. That power I have
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: only given to God Almighty. And if God say I'm
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: a rise, there's nothing you could do about it. So
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: now here I am, twenty years later, syndicated.
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: The badest adult contemporary radio show on planet Earth. So
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: much for you gonna get rid of me, So much
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: for you ain't gonna rise no more. So much for
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: being the first black host of Miss Universe. So much
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: for being one of the.
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: Top black game show hosts that has lasted over seventeen years.
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: So much for being the second Blue black Mail with
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: a full time talk show. What's the dude that was
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: on first, Montel Montelli, Montell Williams. I came out the
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: second black. It's just been so many things that I've done,
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: but because it was the lack of fear of reinventing myself,
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: and I thank God for making me feels. I thank
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: God for giving me longevity, because if it wasn't for
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: God's grace and mercy all this credit that I'm taking
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: for myself, it wouldn't even exist. So let me stop
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: give credit where credit is due. I appreciate you.
- 1:29:45Speaker 4: Lord.
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: Hey, y'all talk to God today. He'd absolutely love here.
