- 0:00Speaker 1: By the time my next guest was fourteen years old,
- 0:02Speaker 1: he had a full beard. The last time he was
- 0:05Speaker 1: clean shaving was for high school graduation. Today he is
- 0:09Speaker 1: the CEO of Rugged Evolution A Beard a Beard Carolina Products.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Please welcome back to money making conversation. Hadn't hadn't had
- 0:18Speaker 1: him on in a long time. Very good friend of mine,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Arrington Gavin, How you doing this? McDonald? That a long
- 0:26Speaker 1: time time, but you still look good. You still look good.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Let's let's thank you. Let's talk about you know, just
- 0:34Speaker 1: talk about a little bit of personal experience, because you
- 0:37Speaker 1: know we all know that. Uh you know when when
- 0:39Speaker 1: you when you look different and you talk different, you
- 0:41Speaker 1: act different, people tend to treat you different. Now, in
- 0:44Speaker 1: in my intro I talked about you had a full
- 0:46Speaker 1: beard or a full beard at the age of fourteens?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Were you tease by that when that was happening, No,
- 0:55Speaker 1: I was, it was. Actually it made me more actually
- 0:57Speaker 1: I mean up man, and so I enjoyed it. I
- 1:05Speaker 1: loved it. Um. But at the end of the day,
- 1:07Speaker 1: I attended private school, so we had to know facetool
- 1:10Speaker 1: hair and policy. So I had to get rid of it.
- 1:12Speaker 1: So that was that was a downfall, but I love it. Well,
- 1:15Speaker 1: it's probably good that you you went to that type
- 1:17Speaker 1: of school, stopped all the madness. That's fun, That's what's fun.
- 1:22Speaker 1: So let's let's let's talk about you know, being a
- 1:24Speaker 1: person who who got face your hair at such an
- 1:27Speaker 1: early age. What were the challenges for you or who
- 1:30Speaker 1: did you turn for advice or information at that at
- 1:33Speaker 1: that state, even though you didn't carry your round because
- 1:36Speaker 1: your your school uh made you cut cut it you
- 1:39Speaker 1: do you could, you had to deal with the issues
- 1:41Speaker 1: of shaving. I'm much you're daily shaving or least shaving
- 1:43Speaker 1: because several times a week. How did you deal with that?
- 1:45Speaker 1: Who did you turn for advice? Well, I actually turned
- 1:49Speaker 1: out I went to a Derman talget because I could
- 1:51Speaker 1: never really shave. I never used a straight razor on
- 1:53Speaker 1: my face because it used to irritate my skin, and
- 1:57Speaker 1: that was a reason why I went to the Derman tlogist.
- 1:59Speaker 1: So I went to my Derm challenges for the advice.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Um also the doctor's note to give to my school
- 2:06Speaker 1: so I wouldn't have to really shave too much, just
- 2:09Speaker 1: keep it a little, you know, closer, but you know,
- 2:10Speaker 1: so they won't really you know notice it. But uh,
- 2:14Speaker 1: that's that would be the person who I I attend
- 2:16Speaker 1: to for advice. First I had to go on the
- 2:18Speaker 1: medical side. I'm like, wait a minute, this is I
- 2:19Speaker 1: don't want to continue to you know, mess up my skin.
- 2:22Speaker 1: So once uh, once graduation came uh and I was
- 2:26Speaker 1: I was a freeman from high school. I break that.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I know because I have the same problem, Like if
- 2:32Speaker 1: you put a razor on my face, I would break out.
- 2:34Speaker 1: You know. I I used an electric razor all my life,
- 2:38Speaker 1: you know, because that's the only way I can actually
- 2:40Speaker 1: shave around my neckline with which I you know, when
- 2:43Speaker 1: you have a beer, that's where you shave, and that's
- 2:44Speaker 1: where it was. There's a general tendency to bump up
- 2:47Speaker 1: although your neckline and things of that nature. So I
- 2:50Speaker 1: know that I know you're having to deal with. That
- 2:52Speaker 1: was a pretty frustrating period for me to admit that
- 2:55Speaker 1: this is how I have to deal with my my
- 2:57Speaker 1: hair facial hair conditions, because so many people don't. They
- 3:01Speaker 1: just look at face your hair and think it's just
- 3:02Speaker 1: a simple process and it's really a lot more complicated
- 3:05Speaker 1: than that. Correct. Oh, yes, sir. And on top of that,
- 3:09Speaker 1: I'm still in the stage of almost puberty. I mean fourteen,
- 3:13Speaker 1: the ages were between maybe elevenists to fourteen fifteen, So
- 3:17Speaker 1: I have you know, I had acne also in high school.
- 3:20Speaker 1: So with sad on top of this, I'm like, no, no,
- 3:22Speaker 1: I can't, I can't do this. I can I can't.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I can, right, And so so as you as you,
- 3:29Speaker 1: as you go through life, you you you you dealt
- 3:31Speaker 1: with this through high school. Now he's on the college
- 3:34Speaker 1: and like, so you have a full beard. When did
- 3:36Speaker 1: the entrepreneurs side of you started to develop out of this? Well?
- 3:41Speaker 1: I always as a kid watching my parents, who are
- 3:44Speaker 1: both entrepreneurs, I've always had that in my blood. Never
- 3:47Speaker 1: knew what journey was gonna take me. But fast forward
- 3:50Speaker 1: once I'm in college. Um, I had a beard. As
- 3:52Speaker 1: a college sophomore, had a beard. I love my beard,
- 3:55Speaker 1: and I wanted to, you know, find out how much
- 3:58Speaker 1: how how can I maintain it? So I started purchasing
- 4:01Speaker 1: a lot of beer care products somewhere, okay, A lot
- 4:03Speaker 1: weren't okay, And um, I'm spending my money months to
- 4:08Speaker 1: months on beercare products. Money that was that was, that
- 4:10Speaker 1: was my weekend money, that was that was my my
- 4:12Speaker 1: turn I turned on money, so I'm like, wait a minute,
- 4:15Speaker 1: Wait a minute, Wait a minute. So I did my
- 4:17Speaker 1: own research on various essential oils, utters and all natural products.
- 4:22Speaker 1: And I also had you know, close excuse me close
- 4:24Speaker 1: friends that were new to the beard community, so they
- 4:27Speaker 1: were kind of like my testers. So I started to make,
- 4:29Speaker 1: you know, whip it up in the kitchen and um
- 4:32Speaker 1: made it for myself as well as my friends, and
- 4:34Speaker 1: got great reviews. And for me, I'm like, okay, I
- 4:36Speaker 1: got great reviews. Okay, that's good. That's good. Then I'm
- 4:38Speaker 1: walking around campus. Uh you know, I look in all
- 4:41Speaker 1: different directions north, south, east, west, and I realized I'm
- 4:45Speaker 1: looking at guys with beard, gotees, mustaches. So right then
- 4:48Speaker 1: and there, I knew it was a market for it.
- 4:50Speaker 1: And that's pretty much where I said, Okay, let me
- 4:53Speaker 1: write down my business plan. And from there on until
- 4:56Speaker 1: graduation came, I took a leap of faith in months
- 4:58Speaker 1: of my online store. November of us team Wow, congratulations.
- 5:02Speaker 1: By the way. First of all, let's lets let's go
- 5:04Speaker 1: back to this. I'm in the kitchen just whipping something up.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I get a lot of guests who come on my
- 5:11Speaker 1: show with that same philosopher. You know, they because you know,
- 5:14Speaker 1: because your degree wasn't what your degree with him what
- 5:17Speaker 1: My degree was in health and wellness, health and once
- 5:20Speaker 1: so I wanted to pursue athletic training. So I've always
- 5:22Speaker 1: had a passion for the human body. So right now,
- 5:25Speaker 1: because I'm trying to I'm trying to get to this,
- 5:27Speaker 1: I'm trying to get to this part in the kitchen,
- 5:29Speaker 1: just whipping this up? You know what? You know what
- 5:32Speaker 1: what were you whipping up? Man? Were you? I got
- 5:34Speaker 1: me some baby all over here? I got me some jergins,
- 5:37Speaker 1: I got me something. You know what were you whipping
- 5:39Speaker 1: up in the kitchen? Man? They got to this point,
- 5:41Speaker 1: not trying to give away your trade secrets, but definitely
- 5:44Speaker 1: just to say you whipped up something and then you
- 5:45Speaker 1: just slapped in on your face and you started smiling.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Then everybody starts smiling with you what because it wasn't sticky?
- 5:51Speaker 1: You know, you know because I used your product. It
- 5:53Speaker 1: doesn't it's not sticky. It's you know, it's shines and
- 5:58Speaker 1: you know, I can I can put things. You know,
- 6:00Speaker 1: it's really a really, really great product. So let's talk
- 6:02Speaker 1: about the early stages of you in the kitchen whipping
- 6:04Speaker 1: stuff up. Okay, well, various butters and all that, all
- 6:10Speaker 1: natural essential oils. That's that's that was my main ingredients
- 6:13Speaker 1: that was open up. I can't you know, I can't
- 6:14Speaker 1: give any sense out but h but things like bees wax.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I was researching things that were good for hair textures
- 6:22Speaker 1: and good for our skin. Make sure had all the
- 6:26Speaker 1: right vitamins that can help nourish and help help take
- 6:30Speaker 1: care of our beers. Right now, let's talk about your
- 6:33Speaker 1: product you have it. How could your product help men
- 6:36Speaker 1: in the bearded community, because you know, you know, yeah,
- 6:39Speaker 1: James James Harden, you know it's really NBA the beer,
- 6:43Speaker 1: which I really don't know that excites you because that
- 6:45Speaker 1: means the beers are being more and more popular in it.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Beers are not just tied to any particular ethnic group
- 6:51Speaker 1: either and so so so the branding of the beer
- 6:55Speaker 1: is just like Michael Jordan's came along in the eighties
- 6:58Speaker 1: and they made the ball head popular. And now James Beard,
- 7:01Speaker 1: James James Harden is making the beer popular in the NBA,
- 7:04Speaker 1: and and that that's hitting that millennial market share that
- 7:08Speaker 1: you want. Because I always tell people, you get your
- 7:09Speaker 1: customers earlier to stay with you forever. And so how
- 7:12Speaker 1: would the question back to us, how would your product
- 7:15Speaker 1: help men in the beard of community? Will help all around.
- 7:19Speaker 1: First with cleansiness. It will keep it nice and clean,
- 7:23Speaker 1: a great very moisturized and all around maintained. Because I
- 7:26Speaker 1: always tell people remember a clean beard is a healthy beard,
- 7:30Speaker 1: and that will that will prevent because our facial hair
- 7:34Speaker 1: is the magnetum bacteria and grease. You want to help
- 7:36Speaker 1: maintain that because if you don't, bacteria will sometimes well
- 7:40Speaker 1: excusing will lead to irritation to the skin and might
- 7:43Speaker 1: lead to infection, and they don't. Right, It's little things
- 7:48Speaker 1: like that that you did. You don't even realize the
- 7:51Speaker 1: the overall. You know, if you're lazy with you know
- 7:55Speaker 1: it can go back to your facial hair. Just if
- 7:57Speaker 1: you don't have facial hair, you know, just not washing
- 7:59Speaker 1: you face. Now you got hair on the face, which
- 8:02Speaker 1: means that's a double because you have to worry about
- 8:05Speaker 1: your skin drying underneath your beard. And so talk about
- 8:10Speaker 1: your product in general. How you you know got I
- 8:14Speaker 1: got it because I've gotten several kids from you, and
- 8:16Speaker 1: I bought a couple of kids where they have the brush,
- 8:19Speaker 1: they have the comb, they have certain oils, they have
- 8:22Speaker 1: certain some talk about the whole process of putting together
- 8:25Speaker 1: the brand. I'm talking to uh Avin, Uh excuse me, Arrington. Gavin,
- 8:31Speaker 1: who's the CEO of Rugged Evolution, is a bearded bearded
- 8:35Speaker 1: hair Caroline and he were talking about the whole process
- 8:38Speaker 1: of In seventeen, he launched an online store. I am
- 8:42Speaker 1: a user of his products. I'm a believer of his products. Uh.
- 8:46Speaker 1: If you go online, you see the quality of the
- 8:49Speaker 1: art work, You see the quality of the website, which
- 8:52Speaker 1: is always really key when people launched their brands, because
- 8:55Speaker 1: that's the first line of experience when you're starting to
- 8:57Speaker 1: put your brand out. How does it look online? How
- 9:00Speaker 1: does it look on your smartphone? How does it look
- 9:02Speaker 1: on your large cream laptop or desktop. So now we
- 9:06Speaker 1: at the point now where you have a product out there,
- 9:08Speaker 1: how do you start developing the lines within your product? Uh? Well, first,
- 9:15Speaker 1: first what I did made sure I have my business
- 9:17Speaker 1: plan out on paper, and then I made sure that
- 9:21Speaker 1: there first was a market for it. And this is
- 9:24Speaker 1: this is off that form when I was in college,
- 9:26Speaker 1: made sure it was a market spard then of course
- 9:28Speaker 1: building on, uh, building on a great excuse me a
- 9:32Speaker 1: marketing team that can help with the marketing and the finances.
- 9:36Speaker 1: And UH to two main components, incorporated and being trademarked
- 9:41Speaker 1: UH and the two the two different UH for anybody
- 9:44Speaker 1: that's not too familiar with it. Being incorporated will help
- 9:47Speaker 1: you in your state. That'll protect your name within your state.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Being trademark will help you around the country. So that
- 9:53Speaker 1: was my main focus as far as building building that brand. UM.
- 9:58Speaker 1: But but given building that side UH, as far as
- 10:01Speaker 1: within my UH within Rugged evolution, I wanted to first
- 10:05Speaker 1: have the quota that UH you can whether you're a
- 10:08Speaker 1: man of UH, whether you're a labor worker or working
- 10:12Speaker 1: corporate America, you can still be a man of distinction
- 10:14Speaker 1: and rocket well groomed beers, which is really UM where
- 10:20Speaker 1: we're at nowadays with the look you know, because at
- 10:22Speaker 1: one time I used to work c IBM. You know,
- 10:24Speaker 1: you have a beerd on that wasn't accepted at all
- 10:27Speaker 1: in IBM, and now now because of you know times
- 10:32Speaker 1: and you know looks, keeping it keeping that beer tight
- 10:36Speaker 1: sometimes you know, no leoty look alike. It's all over
- 10:38Speaker 1: the place. Plus allowing natural hair care products and natural
- 10:41Speaker 1: hairstyles to be used to be worn in corporate America,
- 10:45Speaker 1: it really has. Has you've you've launched your product. As
- 10:48Speaker 1: once said, there's there's never you can use the word
- 10:50Speaker 1: perfect time. I would say at the right time, correct,
- 10:54Speaker 1: yes sir, yes sir. And within within starting that, I
- 10:58Speaker 1: started off with a conditioning ship too. Made sure I
- 11:00Speaker 1: want to have a two on one because it always
- 11:02Speaker 1: starts with a great wash. Then I started incorporate. Okay,
- 11:06Speaker 1: let me start working with the oils because we all
- 11:09Speaker 1: have depending on length. Oil is made to treat the skin,
- 11:13Speaker 1: and we want to take care of the skin first
- 11:15Speaker 1: because a lot of a lot of times I'll get
- 11:17Speaker 1: customers that say, man, I get this itchy and irritation
- 11:20Speaker 1: that's really flaking as well, the skin under the hair
- 11:22Speaker 1: is not being taken care of, so you want to
- 11:24Speaker 1: keep that more sure us. Then for the men with
- 11:27Speaker 1: more length, I created a beard bomb. The beer bomb
- 11:30Speaker 1: is made to treat the outer layers of the hair.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Also is a great rather and it helps detangle the
- 11:37Speaker 1: hair as well. And I want to I wanted to
- 11:41Speaker 1: also broaden the broaden the brand or assuming the line
- 11:46Speaker 1: was having sixteen since since uh not everybody you know
- 11:50Speaker 1: likes the sweeter since not everybody likes the stronger sense
- 11:53Speaker 1: or like I have them between medium miles to strong,
- 11:57Speaker 1: and there's a difference because you're walking around with this scent,
- 12:00Speaker 1: You're walking around with this flavor you know, that's on
- 12:03Speaker 1: your face and it makes a big difference. I'm talking
- 12:05Speaker 1: to my man Arrington Gavin CEO a Rugged Evolution. We'll
- 12:09Speaker 1: be right back with more information. We've got a lot
- 12:11Speaker 1: of questions about it now, Wenna get real personal by
- 12:13Speaker 1: Rashan McDonald's bill. You know, next level talk, you know,
- 12:18Speaker 1: because you know, I gotta photos shop coming up, so
- 12:19Speaker 1: I gotta look good for a photo of shoot. One
- 12:23Speaker 1: the main conversations coming right back. Oh, he's on the
- 12:25Speaker 1: phone having a good time with me. You know, when
- 12:27Speaker 1: you talk to somebody that that's much much younger you,
- 12:29Speaker 1: they are always always a younger brother tone that you're
- 12:32Speaker 1: take in the relationship. But the respect is he's an entrepreneur.
- 12:35Speaker 1: He's he's he's building a successful business called Rugged Evolution Incorporated.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Is committed to providing his patriots with handmade products that
- 12:45Speaker 1: have all natural ingredients. Whether you wear a goatee, shadow
- 12:51Speaker 1: or full beer, his line of product or enhance all
- 12:54Speaker 1: types of hair that's amazing. That's good. That's good salesmanship.
- 12:59Speaker 1: That means that you around getting slogans and let's walk
- 13:03Speaker 1: about let's talk about that whole branding process. Because the
- 13:05Speaker 1: whole marketing process, because like you said, you did your
- 13:09Speaker 1: business plan, you did your in, you incorporated your business,
- 13:13Speaker 1: your trademarked your business. Now you have to market your business.
- 13:16Speaker 1: That's when you have to go through different taglines, different statements,
- 13:20Speaker 1: different sentences that describe your business. That's a lot of work, correct,
- 13:25Speaker 1: It is a lot of worry. There's a lot of
- 13:27Speaker 1: I can I still have all the papers I've have
- 13:29Speaker 1: maybe fortified almost pages of the ideas and stuff, just
- 13:33Speaker 1: to think about the name of the of what the
- 13:36Speaker 1: brand was gonna be or you know, like you said,
- 13:38Speaker 1: our tagline and uh so so so the who are you?
- 13:43Speaker 1: We talked about your parents they were they are entrepreneurs,
- 13:47Speaker 1: were there your mentors are absolutely absolutely what my mother
- 13:52Speaker 1: uh going maybe she's going thirty four years right now,
- 13:55Speaker 1: the real estate broker as well as owned a couple
- 13:58Speaker 1: of businesses on the side of My dad retired firefighter
- 14:03Speaker 1: after twenty five years and now he's been in education
- 14:05Speaker 1: for about ten years and as well as on the
- 14:09Speaker 1: cleaning of business and just just watching them always motivated
- 14:13Speaker 1: me too. Okay, I have some huge shoes to fill
- 14:16Speaker 1: and I want to be just like him, so I
- 14:18Speaker 1: wanted to have it, you know, as far as uh
- 14:21Speaker 1: go to their level. And I'm not quite there yet,
- 14:23Speaker 1: but I'm trying. Well, you you you. I like the
- 14:25Speaker 1: fact that that that you're you're you're honest about your
- 14:28Speaker 1: whole process. And also it's courageous. I'm gonna tell you something.
- 14:33Speaker 1: You're the fact that to see your dream, to build
- 14:35Speaker 1: your dream, move forward your dream at such a young age,
- 14:38Speaker 1: it does take mentors. I know. I would speech this
- 14:40Speaker 1: Saturday talking to college students and as a program called
- 14:44Speaker 1: Sure and I graduated from the Universe Houston, which is
- 14:47Speaker 1: the number one school for entrepreneurs in the country, and
- 14:50Speaker 1: so I'll be talking to kids a little bit younger
- 14:53Speaker 1: than you who have these dreams, have these aspirations about it.
- 14:57Speaker 1: So you're doing speaking engagements. I there to promote your
- 15:01Speaker 1: your sense of understanding about the whole business and entrepreneur world.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I have a couple of times that on one occasion
- 15:07Speaker 1: was actually uh HBCU week college week over in one
- 15:12Speaker 1: of Delaware is a lot of we're one of the
- 15:14Speaker 1: resource tables there, and it was a lot of upcoming
- 15:17Speaker 1: college that were uh speaking with me, and I was,
- 15:21Speaker 1: you know, gave them my whole rundown and just uh
- 15:24Speaker 1: because what we have under Rugged is what we call
- 15:26Speaker 1: rugged reps becoming your own boss. And I was, you know,
- 15:29Speaker 1: letting them know. I'm like, hey, for me, if you
- 15:31Speaker 1: have any idea or any business plan that you do,
- 15:34Speaker 1: make sure you never throw it away. Always keep that
- 15:36Speaker 1: on paper and stored for you know, future to come,
- 15:39Speaker 1: because you never know when. Hey, you might toss it
- 15:41Speaker 1: now and then three or five years later somebody might
- 15:44Speaker 1: catch it in in another state or another country and
- 15:47Speaker 1: that's your idea. So I was just mainly telling them
- 15:49Speaker 1: as far as continue with your business, uh, your dream,
- 15:53Speaker 1: excuse me, your dream on what you ever want to pursue.
- 15:55Speaker 1: That's awesome. Now let's talk about it. You know, we
- 15:57Speaker 1: know what time of the year, it's a holiday times
- 16:00Speaker 1: online time. You know, they broke a record yesterday on
- 16:05Speaker 1: online sales cyber Mondy Broker record sales up six over
- 16:09Speaker 1: last year. So where you're where we have you have
- 16:13Speaker 1: new products coming out, new product lasts coming out. Let's
- 16:15Speaker 1: talk about that, because I think Samantha's here, Samantha, I'm
- 16:19Speaker 1: going to do my own Cyber Monday, Rashan McDonald's Cyber Monkey.
- 16:22Speaker 1: So we're gonna we're gonna make sure we're gonna do
- 16:25Speaker 1: a newsletter and we're gonna we're gonna hear him talk.
- 16:27Speaker 1: We're gonna include his product and Rushan McDonald's Cyber Monday. Okay,
- 16:31Speaker 1: so you're ready for that. Now start selling, Come on,
- 16:33Speaker 1: start selling, Mr Gavin. Okay. So, not only do we
- 16:38Speaker 1: have sixteen amazing scents of beer bombs and beard oils,
- 16:42Speaker 1: we have two beer conditioning shampoos, UM a lot of

- 17:15Speaker 1: it's a great moisturizing We don't have to put on
- 17:17Speaker 1: it after shape because it's a shaving moisturizing lotion. So
- 17:19Speaker 1: if you want to have a quick touch up before

- 17:24Speaker 1: the great gift for you. And that's we added up
- 17:26Speaker 1: for for the holidays this year. Wow, this is awesome.
- 17:29Speaker 1: So right now, where can they go to buy your product?
- 17:34Speaker 1: They can go to rugged evo dot com. That's r
- 17:36Speaker 1: U G G E D e z o dot com.
- 17:39Speaker 1: And you can also if you're in the Hampton Roads,
- 17:41Speaker 1: Virginia area. We're located in six retail local owned stores
- 17:44Speaker 1: in the Hampton Roads, Virginia as well as um Amazon
- 17:47Speaker 1: and all those store locations is on our website. Okay, cool,
- 17:51Speaker 1: So you don't mind being a part of Rashwan McDonald's
- 17:54Speaker 1: cyber Monday. Oh no, sir, No sir, not at all. Okay, cool, Somatha.
- 18:00Speaker 1: When we're gonna drop that on the we'll drop that
- 18:03Speaker 1: on the sixteenth. The day is the one. What's the
- 18:05Speaker 1: day's day? Okay, couse, we'll dropped that. We will drop
- 18:10Speaker 1: that on We'll drop that. No, no, we go I
- 18:17Speaker 1: want to talk about some of the stuff. First of all,
- 18:19Speaker 1: I want let people I use your products and the
- 18:22Speaker 1: wood brush. You know that. You know, even my wife
- 18:25Speaker 1: notices a different like I. You know, I used to
- 18:27Speaker 1: standard little combs that come with my different razor kids,
- 18:31Speaker 1: and I got some barber combs and things like that.
- 18:34Speaker 1: And then so I'll do that. And then all of
- 18:36Speaker 1: a sudden, like I followed up with my brush that
- 18:38Speaker 1: you that comes with you, that I purchased. I bought
- 18:41Speaker 1: it with some kids. And then I then you can
- 18:44Speaker 1: go online and get as an individual. What makes that
- 18:47Speaker 1: brush so effective? Well made with more bristles, more versus
- 18:51Speaker 1: is a very good for the hair. Uh. And also too,
- 18:56Speaker 1: I'm glad you mentioned brushes because I can go into
- 18:59Speaker 1: it with the with the boar bristo. It tames the
- 19:02Speaker 1: hair very nice. With our cones, we only have we
- 19:05Speaker 1: only use excuse me, wooden cones with their line. We
- 19:08Speaker 1: keep it all natural. The reason being is because uh,
- 19:11Speaker 1: plastic and metal that tends to snag and pull after
- 19:14Speaker 1: hair is on the face, so that causes a lot
- 19:16Speaker 1: of ball spot. So we always keep it uh. With
- 19:18Speaker 1: wooden combs, the wood combs or wooden they have smoother edges,
- 19:23Speaker 1: so they glided a lot smoothly through the skin and
- 19:25Speaker 1: through the hair as well as they hold natural oils
- 19:28Speaker 1: on those combs. And when you constantly comb your beard
- 19:30Speaker 1: or with the wooden comb, you're hydrating your beard with
- 19:33Speaker 1: natural oils. You wouldn't get that in metal or plastic comb. Wow.
- 19:39Speaker 1: So so I'm just here man, Well you know I'm
- 19:43Speaker 1: gonna talking to a little scientists here, man, a scientist
- 19:46Speaker 1: or something. They're dude, because you're somewhere along the line.
- 19:48Speaker 1: You know, you you you you You went out to
- 19:50Speaker 1: be a basketball player, came back and football player. Okay,
- 19:55Speaker 1: you just can't change the game right in this conversation
- 19:57Speaker 1: because everything you're talking about is technical. And that's why
- 20:00Speaker 1: joy the conversation. Because you're not a face of the product.
- 20:03Speaker 1: You are a person who not only that they are
- 20:05Speaker 1: the four teen you know, God gave you this, this
- 20:08Speaker 1: a the ability to grow hair. And then through through
- 20:11Speaker 1: watching people because you observe things, you knowice things, and
- 20:14Speaker 1: you're going there is an there's an opportunity out there
- 20:17Speaker 1: to build a brand. But this whole approach to using
- 20:20Speaker 1: natural products because of not because of the fact that
- 20:23Speaker 1: it's fashionable there's a reason behind why you do what
- 20:26Speaker 1: you do with your products, correct, M yes, sir, that's
- 20:31Speaker 1: that's that's really interesting. So again tell us how to
- 20:34Speaker 1: get you your product lines and also any social media
- 20:37Speaker 1: handles that you have out there. Yes, so, our our

- 21:42Speaker 1: brain out there two more and more people. I go
- 21:44Speaker 1: over two thousand, twenty thousand fan club members that I
- 21:47Speaker 1: want to send this out to my cyber fan base.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Now before we leave the show. We always talk about
- 21:53Speaker 1: charity work. You know that I collect the Balance life.
- 21:56Speaker 1: You know your your professional What were you at that
- 22:00Speaker 1: when when it comes to charity work then, sir, well,
- 22:03Speaker 1: I actually I just started my foundation and Rugged Evolutions Foundation.
- 22:08Speaker 1: We started. UH. We had our first annual back to
- 22:10Speaker 1: school drive last August. We had those are the backpacks right? Yes, sir, yes,
- 22:15Speaker 1: sirs on on social media? Come on, I support you,
- 22:22Speaker 1: come on now. We had a goal of blessing two
- 22:25Speaker 1: hundred and fifty families. We had back to a bunch
- 22:28Speaker 1: of backpacks filled with school supplies. We end up exceeding
- 22:31Speaker 1: that goal in UH, I think accomplishing three hundred and
- 22:34Speaker 1: sixty three UH families less than three hundred sixty three
- 22:37Speaker 1: families with backpacks filled with school supplies and UH, that
- 22:40Speaker 1: was amazing. That was our first annual back school drive
- 22:42Speaker 1: in this past month for November, a portion of all
- 22:47Speaker 1: of our sales this past month in November, we uh
- 22:50Speaker 1: donate a portion to a St. Jules Children's Hospital m
- 22:55Speaker 1: November and November and uh and also uh in for
- 23:00Speaker 1: the holidays. The city of Norfolk here in North Virginia,
- 23:03Speaker 1: they just uh, uh what's where I'm looking for? They
- 23:07Speaker 1: just allowed the Norfolk Police Office here uh to allow
- 23:10Speaker 1: them to grow out their beers and they they can
- 23:12Speaker 1: sport their beers outline. So what I want to do
- 23:14Speaker 1: is I'm visiting all the pre stints in the city
- 23:16Speaker 1: of Norfolk, Virginia, and I'm giving them a basket of
- 23:19Speaker 1: free beer care products and just you know, just a
- 23:22Speaker 1: little something to say thank you and welcome to the
- 23:24Speaker 1: beer community. My man. Make sure when you get that
- 23:27Speaker 1: check those photos. Just says to Roshane, you don't have
- 23:29Speaker 1: to post it. Just says to Roshane, let h'all do
- 23:32Speaker 1: what he do, Okay. And I thought a little link
- 23:34Speaker 1: in there because uh, you know, because that's what it
- 23:37Speaker 1: is about. This is about relationships. Your your bread can
- 23:39Speaker 1: be built by itself. You know, it has to be uh,
- 23:42Speaker 1: you know, it has to be the customers that you
- 23:44Speaker 1: have the employees that you bring on board. You're in
- 23:47Speaker 1: a circle. They all have to think forward and be
- 23:49Speaker 1: forward thinking about what you're trying to do with your
- 23:51Speaker 1: brand again. I'm so happy for you. Samantha is gonna
- 23:54Speaker 1: contact you. We're gonna do that Cyber Monday. Ra Shan
- 23:56Speaker 1: McDonalds Cyber Monday. I want to drop yours right into
- 23:59Speaker 1: the news letter if we're gonna get it out and
- 24:01Speaker 1: then uh and just watch your brand continue to grow again.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I'm talking to Arrington Gavin, the CEO A Rugged Evolution Incorporated,
- 24:09Speaker 1: My man again. Congratulations, our relationship will continue to grow
- 24:13Speaker 1: in but before that, let's sell some product. Thank you
- 24:19Speaker 1: for having me a great friend, and you've been a
- 24:21Speaker 1: blessing to myself and my family. Thank you so much
