- 0:02Speaker 1: Y'all know what time y'all don't know y'all bat have
- 0:09Speaker 1: all suit on looking back to back down, giving the
- 0:13Speaker 1: move like Themking buck bus things and its cubs. True
- 0:20Speaker 1: good at Steve har listening to move together for STU. Please, Moby,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I don't join by join me to be doing me.

- 2:25Speaker 1: Try brother, brother, brother, there's far too many. Love you die.

- 2:58Speaker 1: the answer. Huh, I shall will. Good morning everybody. You
- 3:08Speaker 1: are listening to the voice, come on dig me now,
- 3:12Speaker 1: one and only. Steve Harvey got a radio show. Man.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I love it when I run up into people and
- 3:20Speaker 1: they say that to me. They say, hey, Steve Harvey
- 3:22Speaker 1: got a radio show. Then they wink at man, I
- 3:24Speaker 1: know they're listening. You know, I got a lot off
- 3:27Speaker 1: my chest yesterday. I wanted to clear some things up,
- 3:29Speaker 1: and I appreciate y'all giving me a minute because sometimes
- 3:32Speaker 1: you know, you just gotta say some things out loud.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Not complaining, but hey, just verbalizing, but realizing that I
- 3:39Speaker 1: gotta keep going anyway. And that's my words this morning
- 3:43Speaker 1: to you, that I want you to keep pushing no
- 3:49Speaker 1: matter what happens. I want to share something with you
- 3:53Speaker 1: that's important, that's very very important. See, you have to
- 3:59Speaker 1: get of God something to bless you know, if your
- 4:04Speaker 1: prayer is asking for God's blessings, you got to give
- 4:08Speaker 1: him something to work with. Now, you know, you gotta
- 4:14Speaker 1: show the spirit of appreciation or gratitude. You gotta let
- 4:20Speaker 1: him know that you're in it for the long haul.
- 4:24Speaker 1: No matter what happens. Don't turn around, don't go back.
- 4:30Speaker 1: You will never ever see what the end could be
- 4:36Speaker 1: if you turn around and go back, You'll never know
- 4:39Speaker 1: what the end could have been had you stuck it out.
- 4:44Speaker 1: You'll never know how good it could have gotten, had
- 4:50Speaker 1: you not just weathered the storm. That's the thing that
- 4:55Speaker 1: gets most people. They get tough form, it gets hard
- 5:01Speaker 1: for them, and then they let doubts set in, and
- 5:03Speaker 1: then those doubts become facts and the next thing you know,
- 5:07Speaker 1: they give up. Ever cross your mind, had you not
- 5:13Speaker 1: given up or had you given your best, what the
- 5:16Speaker 1: results or outcome could have been. I look back on
- 5:19Speaker 1: my life on so many occasions where in college I
- 5:24Speaker 1: wasn't giving my best. Now I flunked out. Now it's
- 5:30Speaker 1: easy to look at my life nine go yeah, but
- 5:33Speaker 1: look at you now. But back then, man, it cost
- 5:37Speaker 1: me for so many years that failing to finish that
- 5:43Speaker 1: not giving my all, it cost me a number of years.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I wish I could say that it didn't mean nothing,
- 5:52Speaker 1: that it was just a blimp on the radar screen screen,
- 5:55Speaker 1: but at the time it was major. And so you
- 5:58Speaker 1: have a lot of decisions in your life that are
- 6:01Speaker 1: happening now. You may be in your twenties, your late teens,
- 6:05Speaker 1: you could be in your early thirties, and it is happening.
- 6:07Speaker 1: But guess what you'll eventually get through it provided one
- 6:13Speaker 1: thing you never give up. You never turn around and
- 6:17Speaker 1: go back. Had I written myself off because of one failure? See,
- 6:23Speaker 1: and this is where so many people go but go
- 6:24Speaker 1: wrong at two. You write yourself off after you failed
- 6:28Speaker 1: at something, the one thing you thought you wanted to
- 6:32Speaker 1: accomplish and you failed at it. Now you write yourself
- 6:35Speaker 1: as a failure. Now you go settle on end to
- 6:38Speaker 1: life and just see see what hand you get. Had
- 6:43Speaker 1: When I flunked out of college, had I written myself
- 6:46Speaker 1: off as a failure, I wouldn't be here today. When
- 6:49Speaker 1: I lost my carpet cleaning company, I would have written
- 6:53Speaker 1: myself as a failure. And I wouldn't be here today.
- 6:56Speaker 1: When I didn't become a diamond distributed in am Way
- 7:00Speaker 1: or a direct distributor in an way, even I would
- 7:03Speaker 1: have written myself as a failure and I wouldn't be
- 7:06Speaker 1: here today. When I bought a distribution kit to become
- 7:11Speaker 1: a distributor of the Bohemian Diet and I didn't make it,
- 7:17Speaker 1: I would have written myself as a failure. When I
- 7:20Speaker 1: became an Al Williams distributor and I didn't make it,
- 7:23Speaker 1: I would have written myself as a failure and I
- 7:25Speaker 1: wouldn't be here today. Oh, I gotta list for you.
- 7:30Speaker 1: When I got laid off it for a motor company,
- 7:33Speaker 1: had I written myself as a failure, I wouldn't have
- 7:35Speaker 1: made it. Do you need some more? Because I have
- 7:43Speaker 1: a story filled with mishaps. I have a story filled
- 7:49Speaker 1: with failures. A couple of things now, the grace of
- 7:54Speaker 1: God and his mercy which is available to us all.
- 7:58Speaker 1: See that's the key, y'all, because of his mercy, because
- 8:03Speaker 1: of his willingness to forgive and to even understand why
- 8:09Speaker 1: we do the things we do. In all of my shortcomings,
- 8:15Speaker 1: failed marriages I'm talking about, man got it all wrong.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I can't blame nobody else. It's just me. Steve ain't
- 8:25Speaker 1: have it together at that point in life. I've could
- 8:29Speaker 1: have ridden myself as a failure the first time I could.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I just could have gave up on it after the
- 8:35Speaker 1: second one. And please know that this is an admission.
- 8:39Speaker 1: This ain't bragging. So before you start in with me,
- 8:42Speaker 1: understand what I'm saying. I'm pointing out in my life
- 8:47Speaker 1: a series of missteps and failures, but how I still
- 8:53Speaker 1: get here today a couple of things. God's grace and
- 8:59Speaker 1: mercy is first. But that's the key. That's for everybody.
- 9:04Speaker 1: See if it's God's willingness to forgive you and God's
- 9:10Speaker 1: understanding of why we do what we do because He
- 9:13Speaker 1: said we wasn't gonna be perfect. So in all of
- 9:17Speaker 1: your imperfections, your creator told you you would not be perfect.
- 9:22Speaker 1: He's sad it to you. It's out there I don't
- 9:24Speaker 1: care which one of the books you read, it tells
- 9:27Speaker 1: you that. So guess what. With that in mind, he
- 9:33Speaker 1: has a grace that he has. It's like a grace period.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It's like when you don't pay your insurance premium on
- 9:40Speaker 1: the day that is due. The next day, they don't
- 9:42Speaker 1: just cancel your insurance premium. They have a grace period
- 9:48Speaker 1: because they ain't trying to stop this money from coming in.
- 9:51Speaker 1: But when it comes to God, there's no money required.
- 9:55Speaker 1: He just gives you the grace freely. It don't cost
- 9:58Speaker 1: you nothing. Se I tap into that, y'all. You gotta
- 10:01Speaker 1: get in touch with that, because that's an important part
- 10:04Speaker 1: to making it understanding that his grace is available. So
- 10:08Speaker 1: when you make a mistake, So when you fail at it,
- 10:13Speaker 1: he has a loophole in the contract with him that
- 10:16Speaker 1: allows you to make mistakes, that allows you to get
- 10:19Speaker 1: it wrong, that allows you to fail time and time
- 10:23Speaker 1: and time again. But if you never give up, if
- 10:26Speaker 1: you keep getting up, if you keep trying, if you
- 10:29Speaker 1: keep striving, if you keep making the effort to go
- 10:33Speaker 1: forward and not go back, God has a blessing for you,
- 10:38Speaker 1: and he has it in abundance for you and God
- 10:41Speaker 1: will give it to you at the right time, but
- 10:44Speaker 1: you got to be ready. Oh. I want it to
- 10:47Speaker 1: be successful. But if he had given it to me
- 10:51Speaker 1: back then, I wouldn't have handled it correctly because I
- 10:54Speaker 1: would have made some more mistakes along the way. You're
- 10:58Speaker 1: listening to day Morning Show, ladies and gitimate man, have
- 11:05Speaker 1: your attention, please. Steve Harvey Morning Show is dedicated to
- 11:10Speaker 1: the uplift and edification of his people. Join in with
- 11:15Speaker 1: us as we edify and glorify one another. Steve Harvey
- 11:21Speaker 1: Morning Show is in the process. Shirley Strawby, Hello, Steve
- 11:26Speaker 1: Cali for real, Good morning, Steve, Damn Junie, ignorant ass Jake,
- 11:34Speaker 1: what up? The fool himself best in the business. I
- 11:41Speaker 1: ever seen? What up? Baby funny on so many levels. Yeah,
- 11:48Speaker 1: how y'all doing it good? I'm you know, man, this morning. Man,
- 11:56Speaker 1: I just I'm good. You know, I've been really good
- 12:00Speaker 1: whole year. If you've not noticed, yeah, I have noticed,
- 12:03Speaker 1: actually because I've made it. Attitude adjustment, great spirit. Yeah,
- 12:09Speaker 1: and I'm gonna do it like this the rest of
- 12:11Speaker 1: my radio career. Why because man, I just decided. Man,
- 12:17Speaker 1: And you know, sometimes you got to listen to your
- 12:19Speaker 1: own advice. Yeah, this is gonna be long, a long career,
- 12:22Speaker 1: long radio career. Yeah, hope, you're gonna be I'm gonna
- 12:35Speaker 1: tell you right now, we're not gonna be alone. Prop
- 12:38Speaker 1: you up like Bernie and do this show. Yeah we
- 12:41Speaker 1: get Yeah, it's so funny. So, you know, just so
- 12:52Speaker 1: attitude adjustment. You know, you change your attitude, you change
- 12:56Speaker 1: your attitude. I want to go hire this year. I've
- 12:59Speaker 1: asked God for so many things and he's in the
- 13:01Speaker 1: process of producing them, so I might as well act
- 13:04Speaker 1: like they already here and Steve, I knew we're just
- 13:07Speaker 1: getting started, but this certainly sounds like a closing remark
- 13:10Speaker 1: right here. So already got it, already got it? Yeah
- 13:17Speaker 1: you know, you know off air conversation with Junior. Yeah
- 13:20Speaker 1: oh yeah, yeah yeah, I got to write that down. Yeah,
- 13:23Speaker 1: wrote it. It's gonna do it. Talk about preparing. I
- 13:29Speaker 1: love it. Yeah, they're already finishing. We just got here.
- 13:33Speaker 1: This is to finish and just got here. The president crazy,
- 13:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he needs the attitude adjustment. It's very simple.
- 13:43Speaker 1: The Republicans that support him because they have a measure
- 13:47Speaker 1: of power, position and money based on his survival. Yes,
- 13:53Speaker 1: power that's it. Man power and position because man, and
- 13:58Speaker 1: they've been out of power for eight years. But listen
- 14:01Speaker 1: to me. You cannot. You cannot listen to him and
- 14:05Speaker 1: not call a spade a spade. He wrong on so
- 14:09Speaker 1: many levels. And I don't care how you rationalize it.
- 14:12Speaker 1: This man is wrong. He's just wrong. This government shut
- 14:16Speaker 1: down is and it's many people, and he's changing the
- 14:21Speaker 1: narrative like it's the Democrats. Fact, you said you were
- 14:25Speaker 1: gonna shut it down and you were gonna own it,
- 14:27Speaker 1: so damn it own. It's yoas man. Yeah, it is
- 14:30Speaker 1: all right. Coming up at thirty two after the hour,
- 14:32Speaker 1: we're going to talk about aging and the ten years
- 14:36Speaker 1: Social Media Challenge, and this has something to do with you, Steve,
- 14:39Speaker 1: So don't go anywhere all right right after this. You're
- 14:45Speaker 1: listening right now, Steve. You know something's really gone viral
- 14:51Speaker 1: when even your favorite celebrities are taking part in the trend.
- 14:55Speaker 1: That's Kevin Hart, Neo, Nicki Minaj, Fat Joe, Kiki Palmer,
- 14:59Speaker 1: Nick Cannon, Holly Robinson, Pete They're all among those taking
- 15:03Speaker 1: part in the ten year challenge, where people are posting
- 15:06Speaker 1: a picture of what they looked like a decade ago
- 15:08Speaker 1: alongside a recent picture. And let me just say this,
- 15:11Speaker 1: I don't appreciate everybody who texted me today. The picture
- 15:15Speaker 1: of Morgan Freeman and in his picture was before and after,
- 15:21Speaker 1: but he looked the same. Yeah, both pictures. He looked
- 15:24Speaker 1: after nineteen thirty three. Doesn't age, Yeah, but now he doesn't. Yeah,
- 15:36Speaker 1: but he was a young man at one time. He
- 15:40Speaker 1: doesn't age, even on the electric company each other. He
- 15:49Speaker 1: same in God Mighty, she was driving Miss Days right movie.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I don't care. Let me just for the record, I
- 16:05Speaker 1: don't care. I love him. You all say what you
- 16:07Speaker 1: want to say. I don't care. Okay, didn't have electricity,
- 16:15Speaker 1: all my tenure pictures would look different, Yeah, because I've
- 16:19Speaker 1: made changes. What kind of changes though? Well? This year
- 16:24Speaker 1: is the beard? Oh yeah, that's right, that's right. I
- 16:27Speaker 1: trim my mustache down to match my beard. Yeah, so
- 16:32Speaker 1: it wouldn't be this thick, bushy thing. And then my face.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I don't want it bushy, so I keep it crop low. Yeah,
- 16:40Speaker 1: minus my hair, I guess. Yeah. I mean it's still short,
- 16:44Speaker 1: but you know you sometimes it's like it's really short. Now,
- 16:48Speaker 1: twenty year challenge, I got something for you. Oh okay,
- 16:51Speaker 1: all right, So that's what we're talking about, Steve, with
- 16:54Speaker 1: everybody posting these pictures and talking about aging your birthday
- 16:57Speaker 1: of courses in two days. Yes, lord, So here are
- 17:00Speaker 1: a few birthday self reflection questions for you, mister Harvey
- 17:04Speaker 1: served Okay, so, so what are you happy about from
- 17:07Speaker 1: the past year that you will continue to be happy
- 17:10Speaker 1: about this year? Because she said you changed your attitude earlier?
- 17:14Speaker 1: Oh that was bad, miss. I think he's bad. Yeah,
- 17:22Speaker 1: rephrase the question. Sure, okay, So you were happy about
- 17:26Speaker 1: something last year twenty eighteen, right, okay, so are you
- 17:29Speaker 1: that happiness is so good you're going to continue it
- 17:32Speaker 1: in this year? Yes? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah? Okay, Well
- 17:35Speaker 1: what was it? Yeah? I made the attitude adjustment last year, okay,
- 17:39Speaker 1: and I'm going to continue it. Okay, think about this.
- 17:42Speaker 1: You're a comedian. What made you laugh the hardest, I
- 17:46Speaker 1: mean hard laughing most recently? Oh when I was watching
- 17:50Speaker 1: that video or that white dude jumping over that canal
- 17:54Speaker 1: and he ain't making dale video. I watched that video player.
- 18:04Speaker 1: I'm Holland. I'm talking about Holland because you aren't laughing
- 18:09Speaker 1: hearted than that little boy snatching that thing out that
- 18:11Speaker 1: bird mouth. Yeah, I laughed harder than that the dude
- 18:16Speaker 1: jumping over the canal. That Okay, that's good. I think
- 18:21Speaker 1: we know the answer to this when you just answered it.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
- 18:28Speaker 1: I'm not happier or sadder, But I just have another adjustment.
- 18:34Speaker 1: I'm not happier or sad. It wasn't unhappy, you know.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I just decided to intentionally incorporate brightness every day at
- 18:44Speaker 1: all costs. It is a choice. It is a choice
- 18:47Speaker 1: because I focused more this year on the words that
- 18:51Speaker 1: come out of my mouth and the actions that I do.
- 18:54Speaker 1: They gotta be more. They got to coincide more. Because
- 18:58Speaker 1: if a man is as he's thinking, I wanted to
- 19:00Speaker 1: elevate my thinking this year. So yeah, that's something. Because
- 19:03Speaker 1: Jay just texted me today, words hurt. Surely he's just
- 19:07Speaker 1: textivity that today because I let him have it, brilliant picture.
- 19:12Speaker 1: I let him have it. Yeah, it was so mean
- 19:15Speaker 1: to whatever. Are you are? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Are you
- 19:21Speaker 1: thinner or fatter? Oh yeah, definitely fatter? Right after every
- 19:27Speaker 1: Christmas and and and my and my weight loss challenge
- 19:32Speaker 1: starts on Monday, oh this coming Monday after this coming Monday,
- 19:36Speaker 1: I will let everybody know what it is. I've already
- 19:38Speaker 1: started my workout routine. I already know on my birthday,
- 19:42Speaker 1: I'm will trip a little bit and I will have
- 19:45Speaker 1: my first cigar the day after my actual birthday at
- 19:51Speaker 1: my birthday party. Okay, I will have my first cigar
- 19:55Speaker 1: the year, yes, and I won't have another one until man,
- 19:58Speaker 1: I don't know, honks later, can I can? I ask
- 20:01Speaker 1: you questions? Steve? If you could wake up at a weight,
- 20:05Speaker 1: just wake up and you didn't have to work out anything,
- 20:08Speaker 1: what weight would that be? Two sixteen? Already? WaveRT he
- 20:18Speaker 1: said it with everything in him. Yeah, sixteen, two sixteen,
- 20:22Speaker 1: y'all quit talking. Yeah, I probably want to respond, Steve. Steve,
- 20:27Speaker 1: you hear me. Damn it, Steve, you hear me. Yeah,
- 20:31Speaker 1: he's so fine. Okay, here's another one, Steve. Compared to
- 20:36Speaker 1: this time last year, are you richard or poor? Oh?
- 20:41Speaker 1: You definitely probably could answer the album for you. You're
- 20:45Speaker 1: come to count? Yeah, you can ask me that every years,
- 20:53Speaker 1: but that's your goal, right. I will never be poor, never,
- 20:58Speaker 1: never to that good that he's taught me to secrets.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I will never be poor, all right, which is what
- 21:08Speaker 1: is one mistake from last year that you can learn
- 21:10Speaker 1: from this year. What did you do last I've got
- 21:14Speaker 1: to learn to vet people better who come into my life. Oh,
- 21:18Speaker 1: I think we can all agree on that one. All
- 21:20Speaker 1: for you. That was a couple of big mistakes I made.
- 21:23Speaker 1: If I had done a job of debt out to
- 21:26Speaker 1: save myself something. Uh huh you myself cussin All right, Well,
- 21:31Speaker 1: coming up next it is the nephew. Nephews turned to
- 21:34Speaker 1: run that prank back. We're gonna do that right after this.
- 21:38Speaker 1: You're listening to show Coming up at the top of
- 21:42Speaker 1: the hour, guys in National News, miss and will be
- 21:45Speaker 1: here with the latest on the government shutdown and the
- 21:49Speaker 1: LA teacher strike. Yeah, that's going on too, plus an
- 21:53Speaker 1: entertainment news Steve. You will be hosting the NFL Honors
- 21:57Speaker 1: going down Super Bowl weekend in Atlanta. But right now,
- 22:01Speaker 1: the nephew is up with run that prank back. What
- 22:04Speaker 1: you got for is neff something give the drummer thud
- 22:14Speaker 1: is hello, I'm telling me reach uh Richie, Hey, Richie,
- 22:21Speaker 1: how you doing? You the drummer for the for the band.
- 22:25Speaker 1: It's saying, you're saying, all right, and you all show
- 22:29Speaker 1: the guy that you manage. You're the manager of the band?
- 22:33Speaker 1: T right? Correct? Correct? Correct? What's up? Okay? Correct? All right,
- 22:38Speaker 1: we want to book you guys for I think it's
- 22:40Speaker 1: gonna be in February. My name is Carter. They told
- 22:44Speaker 1: y'all's gonna be calling. Yeah, okay, I'll tell you what.
- 22:48Speaker 1: We're gonna go through a little check manus Liz here,
- 22:51Speaker 1: make sure we're on the same page and we got
- 22:53Speaker 1: everything's gonna be good that night. But I hear you guys.

- 23:02Speaker 1: appreciate that, we know that were the best thing out there. Yeah,
- 23:05Speaker 1: it's all good, sounds all good, sounds perfect. All right,
- 23:08Speaker 1: Now let's talk about money, because that's always the most
- 23:11Speaker 1: crucial thing to talk about. Now, you guys, sounds good.
- 23:15Speaker 1: You guys are supposed to be what about what thirty
- 23:17Speaker 1: five hundred for what I understand? Correct? So what timeys
- 23:21Speaker 1: starting at? We're gonna start seven product seven thirty, you know,
- 23:25Speaker 1: get get that thing jumping off about seven thirty. I
- 23:27Speaker 1: think it's gonna be good. Yeah, we could play till

- 23:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna pay you something. They're not gonna get going
- 23:37Speaker 1: good till about ten. So I'm gonna say I'm gonna
- 23:41Speaker 1: say this to you right now. You say you guys
- 23:44Speaker 1: should probably go to midnight maybe twelve thirty if I
- 23:47Speaker 1: if I make that thing a nice five thousand dollars,
- 23:50Speaker 1: sounds good to me. We could definitely work with that.
- 23:53Speaker 1: You can work with that. Yeah, yeah, well, well a commodate.
- 23:57Speaker 1: It's gonna be an awesome party. We're gonna we're gonna
- 23:59Speaker 1: bring for Okay, all right, we got that out of
- 24:02Speaker 1: the way. I'll tell you what I think. The main
- 24:05Speaker 1: thing that we haven't gone over is we haven't gone
- 24:07Speaker 1: over to songs. And that's what that's what's gonna be
- 24:11Speaker 1: impartant for this show down. Now you you can I
- 24:14Speaker 1: you got a pin and a pad. You can write
- 24:16Speaker 1: this down? Yeah yeah, yeah, I write it down, all right? Down?
- 24:18Speaker 1: Give me a second, go ahead? All right? Yeah? Yeah,
- 24:23Speaker 1: I got all right, I'm Reddy. I just want to
- 24:25Speaker 1: be clear you guys, when you go, when you gotta
- 24:27Speaker 1: go do gigs, you do have people that want certain
- 24:31Speaker 1: uh songs? Am I right? A wrong? Yeah? Usually. Yeah,
- 24:36Speaker 1: I just if you got a request, definitely let us
- 24:38Speaker 1: know we could commodate. All right, All right, well here
- 24:41Speaker 1: we go, huh, here we go. I want you to
- 24:44Speaker 1: write this down. I got I got something that we
- 24:46Speaker 1: gotta make sure this is gonna be doing the height
- 24:48Speaker 1: of the party. Here we go. Okay, Friends in Low
- 24:51Speaker 1: Places by Garth Brooks. Okay, right, Kennessee Whiskey. That's Chris Faithfulton.
- 24:59Speaker 1: You know that. Okay, I'm not telling fun. That's Jason
- 25:03Speaker 1: all Day. Hold off for a second. Is that country music?
- 25:07Speaker 1: That's country music? Well that that's that's that's that's everything.
- 25:10Speaker 1: We gonna do everything. We gonna do that, said country bro.
- 25:16Speaker 1: I gotta tell you right now, man, R and B.
- 25:18Speaker 1: That's our specialty. Did you not know that? You know
- 25:21Speaker 1: what I'm saying? We played R and B. You did
- 25:24Speaker 1: not know that? Oh? All I know is you guys
- 25:28Speaker 1: come hard men. They tell me you guys can say
- 25:31Speaker 1: any thing in the world. All I know is I
- 25:34Speaker 1: want to say that gun country. I want you to
- 25:36Speaker 1: do that gun country music going on around here? Yeah? That,
- 25:40Speaker 1: But you know our specialty is N R and B.
- 25:42Speaker 1: That's our specialty. You know what I'm saying, it's not
- 25:45Speaker 1: like we're trained monkeys where we could just learn something
- 25:47Speaker 1: new lastment like that. You know what I'm saying that Mann,
- 25:51Speaker 1: let's let's get let's get one. Let's get one thing understood.
- 25:55Speaker 1: You're the person that said monkey, I ain't sick. But
- 25:59Speaker 1: y'all yo, I'm just I'm no. And you know that
- 26:04Speaker 1: we're an R and D band. That's our big thing.
- 26:06Speaker 1: That's what we promote ourselves as. Let me ask you something, Richie,
- 26:10Speaker 1: he ain't something that now he not? Do you not
- 26:15Speaker 1: want to make the five thundd knowl that you and
- 26:18Speaker 1: I have already negotiations. I don't like being disrespected though.
- 26:21Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, No disrespecting you. You're just
- 26:26Speaker 1: we're an R and D band. We don't country. You
- 26:29Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Hang it don't here, Richie. You
- 26:32Speaker 1: got something this country music. I have no problem with
- 26:35Speaker 1: country music. It's just that we have a full horn section,
- 26:38Speaker 1: which doesn't really work with country music. You know what
- 26:41Speaker 1: I'm saying. We play R and B. It's not our genre.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Well what you ushould knowing? But if I don't hear uh,
- 26:53Speaker 1: let me see your gunner old my colds when the
- 26:56Speaker 1: old and it ain't gonna work for me. I gotta
- 27:00Speaker 1: get man, I gotta get a slow burned by Tim Heats,
- 27:04Speaker 1: I gotta get all my rowdy friends are coming over
- 27:07Speaker 1: by Hain't Williams. I mean that, y'all. You know what
- 27:10Speaker 1: wait wait, wait, wait waite. Kevin over at the Many
- 27:13Speaker 1: is tell them Many that you guys can sang anything
- 27:16Speaker 1: in the world. I know you ain't telling me that.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Kevin's line, I mean, he's maybe he should have told
- 27:22Speaker 1: you explicitly what we do and what we play. You
- 27:25Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, I've never met anybody in my life.
- 27:28Speaker 1: I'm playing Palm Playing, Guard Brooks, Chris Stapleton, Jason Aldean
- 27:33Speaker 1: Brooks and Duns, Blake Shelton, Cole swin Dale. Lady, ain't
- 27:37Speaker 1: you don't sit here and tell me you can't play
- 27:40Speaker 1: none of these songs. I want you to get on
- 27:43Speaker 1: the stage and sing these songs that we won't go.
- 27:46Speaker 1: We ain't got time to find another group. Everybody. I
- 27:50Speaker 1: don't feel about your stupid party. You know what I'm saying.
- 27:53Speaker 1: You came to us to play music, and then we
- 27:56Speaker 1: told you what we do. Right now? You know, right now,
- 28:00Speaker 1: I feel like I feel like we had a standoff
- 28:02Speaker 1: and the okay, all right, all right, let me let
- 28:09Speaker 1: me talk to my band, all right, because this is
- 28:10Speaker 1: going this is going unnecessary too far, you know what
- 28:13Speaker 1: I'm saying. Maybe we can make it work, all right.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Let me let me ask you something. Is Dre the
- 28:19Speaker 1: bass player? Yeah? Correct? Okay? Can I tell you something
- 28:23Speaker 1: about Dre? What about him? Tree? Got me to plank
- 28:28Speaker 1: phone call you? This is nephew taught me from the
- 28:32Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Baby, you just got franked by
- 28:35Speaker 1: your boy in the bands Dre Damn, damn damn. Oh okay,
- 28:46Speaker 1: I gotta ask you something, man, What is the baddest
- 28:49Speaker 1: and I mean the badest radio show in the land,
- 28:52Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Get a job? Say you're a
- 29:03Speaker 1: drums up? Let me get a time and sun right now.
- 29:05Speaker 1: I told y'all Tampa was gonna jump this thing off.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Guess what Friday is. Sarah is soul lot. You ain't
- 29:10Speaker 1: got nothing but Thursday left. The Nephew is coming to Tampa.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Improv take his own sale right now now, stupid, go ahead,
- 29:19Speaker 1: j huh. Friday is sad to gone. The Nephew jumping
- 29:28Speaker 1: this thing oh did you hear me Rosa to come
- 29:30Speaker 1: around once a year first? All right, coming up at
- 29:41Speaker 1: the top of the hour, Thank you, guys. Entertainment news,
- 29:44Speaker 1: Steve is gonna host the NFL Honors and the movie
- 29:47Speaker 1: Coming to America Too is becoming a reality. I love that.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Right after this, we'll talk about it. You're listening to
- 29:56Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Shows. Sand is standing by with our
- 30:01Speaker 1: national news. She's going to talk about this teachers union
- 30:05Speaker 1: teacher strike. Uh the l a u s D. Listen,
- 30:09Speaker 1: more than thirty one thousand members of the la USD.
- 30:12Speaker 1: That's the Los Angeles United uh, Los Angeles Unified School District. Okay,
- 30:19Speaker 1: let's get that right, Los Angeles Unified School District U
- 30:23Speaker 1: United Teachers of Los Angeles. Okay, they stage to walk out,
- 30:27Speaker 1: all right. They are demanding higher pay, smaller class sizes,
- 30:30Speaker 1: as well as more counselors, more librarians, and more nurses.
- 30:34Speaker 1: And we hear on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Have
- 30:37Speaker 1: always supported teachers. We support our teachers. They they teach
- 30:42Speaker 1: our kids. I mean, you know, and oftentimes in our
- 30:45Speaker 1: society they're so overlooked and underpaid. So you know, we
- 30:49Speaker 1: stand with you, guys. We have to strike for that.
- 30:52Speaker 1: That you don't have that already that yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Teachers are the most underpaid people in the United States
- 31:03Speaker 1: of America, and they have the most daunting job. They
- 31:07Speaker 1: are to educate our children. And people who educate our
- 31:11Speaker 1: children should earn quality living. But they're up against it.
- 31:16Speaker 1: They don't have the proper supplies or materials. They have
- 31:20Speaker 1: outdated books that have overcrowded situations. And then the worst
- 31:25Speaker 1: part is discipline. All it take is two or three
- 31:31Speaker 1: bad kids to mess up the learning experience for everybody.
- 31:35Speaker 1: And when you sitting your little ignorant ass baby down
- 31:38Speaker 1: to the school, don't know nothing at home that you
- 31:41Speaker 1: want a genius back at four thirty, Well, he not
- 31:44Speaker 1: coming back. He didn't know a damn thing when he
- 31:46Speaker 1: went up there. You can't tell his little routy ass
- 31:50Speaker 1: nothing at home. Now, you didn't send him up that
- 31:52Speaker 1: to this teacher. The teacher just looking upside his head. Hey, Steve,
- 31:56Speaker 1: do you remember when we first got to la with
- 31:58Speaker 1: the show and how you oh yeah, yeah, you, I
- 32:02Speaker 1: mean your whole thing was about getting the teachers the
- 32:05Speaker 1: materials and the tools they needed to yeah, to teach
- 32:09Speaker 1: our kids. You have the whole book drive going and
- 32:13Speaker 1: you know, wanting donations so the schools could get books,
- 32:16Speaker 1: so the teachers could have the resources to teach our kids.
- 32:20Speaker 1: And that was what almost twenty years ago. And you
- 32:24Speaker 1: know somethy remember the struggle that I got in, Yes,
- 32:26Speaker 1: I do, because I had went and started with the
- 32:29Speaker 1: Compton because I'd met all of these students from Compton
- 32:32Speaker 1: who were honor roll students but they couldn't go to college.
- 32:36Speaker 1: And I was talking with the kids and I was going,
- 32:39Speaker 1: what what do you mean because we can't pass the
- 32:42Speaker 1: Act sat. I said, y'all honor roll students. They said,
- 32:47Speaker 1: we honor roll students in the books we have, but
- 32:50Speaker 1: all our books, all of our books are outdated. Wow. Yeah,
- 32:55Speaker 1: and so we can't compete with the math, the new math,
- 33:00Speaker 1: so we can't get in. I went, what Yeah, So
- 33:03Speaker 1: I messed around and went to the school and then
- 33:06Speaker 1: that's when I saw kids sitting on the floor. That's
- 33:08Speaker 1: the way, y'all sitting on the floor. We ain't got
- 33:10Speaker 1: no more desk. Yeah. I went, wait a minute, and
- 33:12Speaker 1: then I went, my man, where are your books at?
- 33:15Speaker 1: I ain't get one? And then that's when the teacher
- 33:17Speaker 1: told me her class of thirty three students, she has
- 33:20Speaker 1: eighteen books. Yeah, so the kids alternate books, I said.
- 33:26Speaker 1: And the books they had didn't have covers on them
- 33:29Speaker 1: some some of them the pages were missing, you know.
- 33:32Speaker 1: It was yeah, yeah, yeah, you remember that. And so
- 33:34Speaker 1: when I tried to buy new books, remember I got
- 33:36Speaker 1: all in books and they turned them down. I remember,
- 33:39Speaker 1: I said, Okay, they tripping because they don't want to
- 33:41Speaker 1: be made to look bad. So it was just so yeah,
- 33:44Speaker 1: rible situation. Yeah, it was all right. We got to
- 33:48Speaker 1: go to miss Ann Steve for an update on this
- 33:50Speaker 1: LA teacher strike. Well, let's go, ladies and gentlemen. Miss
- 33:53Speaker 1: Ann Tripp, thank you very much, everybody. This is a
- 33:56Speaker 1: trip with the news. I want to start off though
- 33:58Speaker 1: with the shutdown. It's now day twenty five the partial
- 34:00Speaker 1: government shutdown. Passengers at airports around the country find themselves
- 34:04Speaker 1: waiting on longer and longer security lines because of a
- 34:06Speaker 1: shortage of TSA baggage screeners. Reports are that a number
- 34:09Speaker 1: of agents are calling in sixness they're not getting paid
- 34:12Speaker 1: as that tuggle war continues over President Trump's planned boarder wall. Meanwhile,
- 34:16Speaker 1: the President's making sure that the people who voted for him,
- 34:19Speaker 1: remained firm in their support during this shutdown, and his
- 34:23Speaker 1: new trade policy has taken effect. Trump spoke before the
- 34:25Speaker 1: Farm Bureau of Centennial, Louisiana yesterday an issue to promise,
- 34:29Speaker 1: it's only going to get better because we're doing trade
- 34:31Speaker 1: deals that you're going to get you so much business
- 34:33Speaker 1: you're not even going to believe it. Your problem will be,
- 34:36Speaker 1: what do we do we need more anchorage immediately. Nevertheless,
- 34:39Speaker 1: a number of US growers are still worried about Trump's
- 34:41Speaker 1: trade war with the world's largest consumer, which is China.
- 34:44Speaker 1: President Trump's nominee to be a use Attorney General, William Barr,
- 34:48Speaker 1: undergoes questioning today before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Bar expects
- 34:52Speaker 1: to protect protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation, according
- 34:57Speaker 1: to his prepared statement. Anyway, bar Bar will so promised
- 35:00Speaker 1: senators during his confirmation hearing that he will remain independent
- 35:04Speaker 1: of the President. Barns expected to be asked though about
- 35:06Speaker 1: some of his earlier statements. For instance, last year, this
- 35:09Speaker 1: guy called the probe into Russian interference fatally misconceived. Barn
- 35:14Speaker 1: now says that comment was taken kind of out of context.
- 35:17Speaker 1: House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy met with Iowa Congressman Steve
- 35:20Speaker 1: King yesterday. King recently quoted in The New York Times
- 35:23Speaker 1: as asking how the terms of the white nationalist and
- 35:25Speaker 1: white supremacists became offensive. At the time, Congresman McCarthy was
- 35:30Speaker 1: on CBS's Face the Nation having a serious conversation with
- 35:33Speaker 1: Congressman Steve King on his future and role in this
- 35:36Speaker 1: Republican Party. And they had a serious discussion. Apparently, the
- 35:40Speaker 1: Panel of Republican Leaders voted unanimously yesterday to keep Congressman
- 35:44Speaker 1: King off all House committees. The Congressional Black Caucus wanted
- 35:49Speaker 1: Steve King removed from all committee assignments. Looks like he
- 35:51Speaker 1: will be removed. Over thirty thousand teachers, as you've heard
- 35:54Speaker 1: in Los Angeles on strike, the school still open. Some
- 35:57Speaker 1: four hundred substitute teachers have been hired. Track talks broke
- 36:00Speaker 1: down over the issues of higher pay and smaller class sizes.
- 36:04Speaker 1: According to feminist attorney Gloria Alred, r Kelly's attempting to
- 36:07Speaker 1: intimidate one of his alleged victims into keep him quiet,
- 36:10Speaker 1: with Alred saying that the singer seems to be taking
- 36:13Speaker 1: his playbook. She says from Donald Trump. That's her quote.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Alred was referred to referring to Faith Rogers, who was
- 36:19Speaker 1: in a relationship with Kelly at age nineteen and who
- 36:22Speaker 1: was suing Kelly for sexual battery and for knowingly infecting
- 36:25Speaker 1: her with an STD, claiming Kelly's been quote mentally, sexually
- 36:28Speaker 1: and brutally and verbally abusive to her. Finally, sad news
- 36:32Speaker 1: though from the world of entertainment, singer Larry Cunningham of
- 36:35Speaker 1: The Floaters has passed. Remember and my married just float on.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Larry Cunningham was sixty seven years old. Everybody, back to
- 36:46Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening. Pastor John Gray
- 36:53Speaker 1: recently caught a lot of flack for buying a two
- 36:56Speaker 1: hundred thousand dollars Lamborghini SUV truck for his adventure Gray. Uh,
- 37:02Speaker 1: this is for their eighth anniversary. Uh. John Gray is
- 37:07Speaker 1: a former associate pastor at Houston's Lakewood Church. That's the megachurch,
- 37:10Speaker 1: of course, run by u Joel Olstein. Pastor Gray moved
- 37:15Speaker 1: to South Carolina to work at Relentless Church. That's a
- 37:17Speaker 1: megachurch that was named Redemption Church. Pastor Gray defended the
- 37:21Speaker 1: expensive gift on social media and claimed that not a nickel,
- 37:25Speaker 1: not a penny from his church went towards the gift
- 37:28Speaker 1: that he gave his wife. That's according to News One.
- 37:31Speaker 1: It's been a rough year for Pastor Gray. Guys, Yeah,
- 37:35Speaker 1: it's been a rough year. I know. Well, I think
- 37:38Speaker 1: he's talking about twenty eighteen as well. First he was
- 37:42Speaker 1: dragged through ungodly hell for sitting with Trump for photo op.
- 37:47Speaker 1: That picture got out, yeah, that picture, yeah, yeah, and
- 37:52Speaker 1: then right, and then most recently, Pastor Gray revealed that
- 37:55Speaker 1: he was cheating on his wife. That's what everyone is
- 37:59Speaker 1: talking about, is why they're saying that's the reason he
- 38:02Speaker 1: bought his wife the Lamborghini two hundred thousand dollars and
- 38:07Speaker 1: considering a divorce. In addition, he said he was suicidal,
- 38:12Speaker 1: which is why Bishop TD Jakes exercise the spirit of suicide.
- 38:17Speaker 1: From Pastor Gray, there's a lot going on there, a lot, yep.
- 38:23Speaker 1: I like him a lot, and he's human. I like
- 38:27Speaker 1: him a lot. Man. We've had some great conversations. I
- 38:30Speaker 1: like him a lot. I think that people put pastors
- 38:34Speaker 1: on a pedestal that they can't even live up to
- 38:38Speaker 1: these I want you to Bishop Jakes taught me this.
- 38:42Speaker 1: They are men, yes, and women, that's they that first. Ye,
- 38:50Speaker 1: they sent us too, saved by grace because you are sinners.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Saved by grace don't mean you no longer sin You
- 38:59Speaker 1: just saved. He can ask for forgiveness just like I
- 39:02Speaker 1: can for something I do, or just like you can
- 39:04Speaker 1: for something you do. And you better hope that God
- 39:07Speaker 1: continues to show the grace to all of us, because
- 39:11Speaker 1: every last one of us gonna need some grace and
- 39:14Speaker 1: mercy and some forgiveness. So we jump on these people like,
- 39:18Speaker 1: oh how could it? I can't believe he? Now do
- 39:20Speaker 1: we hold preachers and passes to a higher standard? Of
- 39:24Speaker 1: course we get, of course we do. But at the
- 39:29Speaker 1: end of the day, I talked with this young dude
- 39:31Speaker 1: many times. Man, just a great guy. Man, a great guy.
- 39:35Speaker 1: But remember this, great great people make bad mistakes. The
- 39:41Speaker 1: prison system is full of them. I know a lot
- 39:45Speaker 1: of good brothers man who just made some bad mistakes.
- 39:51Speaker 1: But now that ain't gonna stop social media and none
- 39:53Speaker 1: of them are phony Christians from doing what they gonna
- 39:57Speaker 1: do because they're gonna ride him in the ground like
- 39:59Speaker 1: they don't. No, hid I ain't never liked him? Well whatever, Yeah,
- 40:04Speaker 1: all right, we'll spend a little more time on this story.
- 40:08Speaker 1: We can talk about it some more coming up at
- 40:09Speaker 1: thirty four after the hour. Right after this, you're listening
- 40:13Speaker 1: to Dave Harvey Morning Show. We were talking about Pastor
- 40:17Speaker 1: John Gray when we went to break earlier, and he
- 40:21Speaker 1: had an emotional New Year's Eve sermon where he admitted
- 40:24Speaker 1: that he's thought about ending his marriage and ending his life.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Pastor Gray recently got some help from fellow pastor and
- 40:32Speaker 1: a friend to the Morning show, pastor Bishop TD Jakes.
- 40:35Speaker 1: This was during a pastor's leadership conference at First Baptist
- 40:39Speaker 1: Church of Glenarten and Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church on
- 40:43Speaker 1: January fifth. Bishop Jakes prayed over Pastor Gray and noted
- 40:47Speaker 1: the spirit of suicide continued to lurk in his home.
- 40:51Speaker 1: The emotional sermon came just about a month after Gray.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Pastor Gray was criticized for gifting his wife with a
- 40:58Speaker 1: two hundred thousand dollars Lamborghini SUV and honor of their
- 41:03Speaker 1: eighth wedding anniversary. However, some claim that the gift was
- 41:07Speaker 1: only a cover up to make up for Pastor Gray's
- 41:09Speaker 1: allegedly having a mistress whom he's rumored to have gotten pregnant.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Now that is a rumor. We definitely have to keep
- 41:18Speaker 1: pastor Gray. Uh. And this whole situation in our prayers
- 41:22Speaker 1: as Christians, you know, we're we're supposed to be about forgiveness. Yeah,
- 41:28Speaker 1: this is tough now, don't don't get me wrong, mistress,
- 41:31Speaker 1: This is stuff. But you know, Christians they are nay,
- 41:36Speaker 1: the most sometime a group. You know, man, they are
- 41:42Speaker 1: real sometimey group. They apply the scriptures when when it's convenient.
- 41:48Speaker 1: They ain't. They ain't always. I'm did you have some?
- 41:51Speaker 1: I'm just talking about some, but they ain't always, you know. Oh,
- 41:55Speaker 1: but let it beat him though. They want all the
- 41:57Speaker 1: scriptures to get them all. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. What you're
- 42:01Speaker 1: saying is, don't be a hypocrite. He is and he's
- 42:08Speaker 1: a human being. And we're not supposed to put our
- 42:11Speaker 1: faith in man, we're not supposed we're supposed to put
- 42:14Speaker 1: our faith and listen to me. Don't nobody know what's
- 42:17Speaker 1: happening in nobody's house, right, don't nobody know? You know,
- 42:22Speaker 1: you you everybody, And we're supposed to be this and
- 42:25Speaker 1: you're supposed to be that. And I got it. But
- 42:28Speaker 1: that was one of the mistakes that I made in
- 42:30Speaker 1: my life. You know, I I solved problems in my house.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Outside of my house, I made all the mistakes saying
- 42:39Speaker 1: and you know that's what he did. He was some
- 42:42Speaker 1: problem at the house and he would outside to fix
- 42:45Speaker 1: it and here we go. Yeah. But you know, if
- 42:50Speaker 1: that's the case, you know, I don't just the first
- 42:53Speaker 1: time hearing about it today, I just I just that
- 42:56Speaker 1: was was was talking with the young brother, because we
- 42:59Speaker 1: exchanged text from time to time, always encouraging to me,
- 43:02Speaker 1: always calling me to say, brother, just thinking about you, man,
- 43:05Speaker 1: keep your head up, hanging there, man, stale soldier, You're
- 43:08Speaker 1: an example for us. All I get text from him
- 43:11Speaker 1: like that repeated and knows the Lord and knows the
- 43:14Speaker 1: word all of that, and he hear the gospel. Yeah,
- 43:18Speaker 1: and he human, but absolutely, but you know, keep him
- 43:22Speaker 1: in our prayers like I'm the same with him. You
- 43:27Speaker 1: know that I'm the same with him that I've always been.
- 43:30Speaker 1: You know, we could still talk in text, and that
- 43:33Speaker 1: mistake right there, I can understand it. Who am I? Man?
- 43:36Speaker 1: All the crazy mess I hadn't done it in my life.
- 43:38Speaker 1: I got a lot of there. Trying to judge some
- 43:39Speaker 1: damn about it. I can't throw a rocket, and nobody
- 43:42Speaker 1: man and soak and time and guess what, neither can
- 43:45Speaker 1: nobody right, guess what they're gonna be slinging at this
- 43:49Speaker 1: brother like he can't do this and he can't who
- 43:52Speaker 1: he did it? Yeah, he did it, and God can
- 43:55Speaker 1: forgive him and will him even when y'all don't. That's right, indeed,
- 44:04Speaker 1: But he can get up and get it right. But
- 44:07Speaker 1: on a side note, have you seen that new Lamborghini truck?
- 44:10Speaker 1: I just looked it up. I saw it. Okay, up next,
- 44:17Speaker 1: we'll move on. Up next, It is a nephew with
- 44:20Speaker 1: a prank phone call coming up right after this you're
- 44:23Speaker 1: listening to show coming up at the top of the hour,
- 44:28Speaker 1: right about four minutes after. It's my Strawberry letter. Forward today.
- 44:32Speaker 1: This one's called She's falling in Love with a Liar.
- 44:37Speaker 1: She's falling in love with a liar. But right now
- 44:42Speaker 1: it is the nephew. He's here for today's prank phone call.
- 44:45Speaker 1: What you got nef alarm alert, Alarm Alert, that's the
- 44:52Speaker 1: name of the prank right there, you alarm alert, follow
- 44:57Speaker 1: me if you will add to this phone call later
- 44:59Speaker 1: green alarm hideous. Hello. Hello, I'm trying to reach the
- 45:06Speaker 1: Nise police. Yeah, this is Denise. Hi, Denise, this is Tony.
- 45:10Speaker 1: I'm calling security. I've got an alarm that we've got
- 45:14Speaker 1: an a line that's gone off on you guys. Property
- 45:17Speaker 1: is all right? Are you guys? We're just checking before
- 45:20Speaker 1: we send authorities out. Is everything okay? Then maybe someone
- 45:22Speaker 1: trip the alarm? Oh my gosh, No, I'm at work.
- 45:27Speaker 1: I'm at work right now. I'm not home. Okay. Do
- 45:30Speaker 1: you have a tet or dog or anything that could
- 45:32Speaker 1: actually trip the alarm? No, No, that's strange. It never
- 45:36Speaker 1: goes off like that. I'm nervous. Okay, give you a second.
- 45:41Speaker 1: We've got a call into the neighborhood security that actually
- 45:44Speaker 1: are en route to the property, and they were going
- 45:47Speaker 1: to give us some information before we actually sent sent
- 45:51Speaker 1: the police officers out, unless you would like to need
- 45:53Speaker 1: to send them out now. But yeah, I feel like
- 45:55Speaker 1: you should send the police. I mean, if I'm not
- 45:58Speaker 1: home and nobody's home and my alarms going off and
- 46:02Speaker 1: it never goes off that, I'm worried. Okay, hang on
- 46:05Speaker 1: one second, this is neighborhood security calling that. Hang on
- 46:08Speaker 1: one second. I'll be right back to you. Okay, niece,
- 46:11Speaker 1: are you there? Yes, yes, yes, I'm here. They have
- 46:15Speaker 1: um they're out there at the property, the neighborhood security.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Do you um there is a black guy? There is
- 46:22Speaker 1: only your premise. Are you familiar with who that might be? Well,
- 46:27Speaker 1: I mean my husband's black, but he should be at
- 46:29Speaker 1: work right now. Okay, oh definitely, okay, and you probably
- 46:34Speaker 1: would have texted me if you know the alarm is
- 46:37Speaker 1: going off. Okay, Well, I mean, do you have any
- 46:39Speaker 1: other black male friends? Excuse me? Do you have any
- 46:44Speaker 1: other Do you have any other black male friends that
- 46:47Speaker 1: might be at the house. I mean, yeah, it's a
- 46:52Speaker 1: very weird question. I mean I have black friends, yes,
- 46:55Speaker 1: but I don't think they would be in my house. Okay, Well,
- 46:59Speaker 1: I mean should we just assume that this is your husband?
- 47:02Speaker 1: What do you think? I I mean, what would you
- 47:04Speaker 1: like to mess at work? I mean, what? How tall
- 47:09Speaker 1: is this person? My husband's six three? On? Hold on
- 47:13Speaker 1: one second, let me go back to the scurry from
- 47:15Speaker 1: the nightwork. I ain't on one second. Do know if
- 47:17Speaker 1: somebody's and my husband my alarm's going off? I don't know.
- 47:21Speaker 1: I mean, okay, Denise, yes, Okay, they have The black
- 47:27Speaker 1: guy that they're looking at is about five foot ten,
- 47:31Speaker 1: maybe late twenties. How old is your husband? No, my
- 47:36Speaker 1: husband is I just told you that my husband's not there.
- 47:39Speaker 1: He would have texted me or called me and told
- 47:42Speaker 1: me that he accidentally set the alarm off. And I'm
- 47:45Speaker 1: actually going to text him. I mean, this is crazy.
- 47:48Speaker 1: I should probably call him. Okay, do you realize if
- 47:51Speaker 1: we send you do realize if we send the authorities
- 47:53Speaker 1: out and this is a false call, that you're gonna
- 47:55Speaker 1: get charged for that? You do know that, right? A
- 47:58Speaker 1: false call? You just said somebody's in my house and
- 48:01Speaker 1: it's not me or my husband. You're saying your husband's black,
- 48:07Speaker 1: and then there's a black guy there. I mean, they
- 48:09Speaker 1: probably know each other, right, Are you kidding me? What
- 48:14Speaker 1: kind of question is that? Because they're both black. I'm
- 48:18Speaker 1: just trying to save you some money, man. I don't
- 48:20Speaker 1: want to send out police officers when they get there
- 48:23Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden, your husband knows the
- 48:24Speaker 1: black guy or he's he's a relative or something. I mean,
- 48:27Speaker 1: do they I mean, you know, do you want to call?
- 48:31Speaker 1: What do you think? Like this? This is really offensive
- 48:37Speaker 1: and and I don't understand if I'm telling you that
- 48:39Speaker 1: I don't know who the person is in my house,
- 48:42Speaker 1: that means send the police. I mean, this is ridiculous.
- 48:48Speaker 1: They're calling back neighborhoods. Hey, just hold on one second.
- 48:52Speaker 1: Neighborhood securities calling back here. Oh my god, this is
- 48:59Speaker 1: my du Okay, Denise, now the security in the neighborhood.
- 49:04Speaker 1: They're telling me that this guy just drove out of
- 49:07Speaker 1: the garage and a white pickup. Do you do you
- 49:09Speaker 1: guys have a white pickup? Yes, we do. So this
- 49:15Speaker 1: guy just pulled out of your your your garage and
- 49:17Speaker 1: a white pickup. Well, I have my cart work and
- 49:20Speaker 1: my husband has his car that's like the truck that
- 49:23Speaker 1: he uses on the weekends for like construction and stuff.
- 49:27Speaker 1: So that means somebody just stole our car. I can't
- 49:30Speaker 1: believe this is happening. You are watching somebody in my
- 49:33Speaker 1: house and you you basically watched them steal my truck. Well, well,
- 49:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna go ahead and now and get the police
- 49:40Speaker 1: to go over. Okay, why the are you going to
- 49:43Speaker 1: send them? Now? He probably took all my ship in
- 49:45Speaker 1: my house. I mean, the police get there. There's not
- 49:48Speaker 1: gonna be anything left in my house. Probably the start
- 49:51Speaker 1: the back of the truck. I mean, I'm doing the
- 49:53Speaker 1: best I can. I'm trying to help you out. Is
- 49:55Speaker 1: it going to do with me? Now? I mean the
- 49:57Speaker 1: whole time you've been talking to me, he's been cleaning
- 50:00Speaker 1: up my house out and stealing. Well, how did you
- 50:04Speaker 1: get in your house? I don't know. I don't know
- 50:08Speaker 1: this guy. You're what I'm just asking you? How could
- 50:13Speaker 1: somebody came here house? What did you leave something open?
- 50:16Speaker 1: What did you go? Hey, listen, you would know because
- 50:21Speaker 1: I wouldn't have been able to set my alarm this morning.
- 50:24Speaker 1: If something was open, it would beef and it wouldn't
- 50:26Speaker 1: let me set the alarm. And the fact that you're
- 50:29Speaker 1: interrogating me when somebody's robbing my house. You need to
- 50:32Speaker 1: do your job. I need to call my husband. You're
- 50:36Speaker 1: wasting my time. I mean, by the time the police
- 50:38Speaker 1: get there, it's gonna be tomorrow. So you're gonna so
- 50:41Speaker 1: you're gonna call Darrel now, I'm sorry, you're gonna call Darrel? Now?
- 50:47Speaker 1: How do you know my husband's name? This is nephew
- 50:55Speaker 1: telling me for the Steve Hobby Moore on this show.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Your husband Darrell got me to brank phone. Oh my god,
- 51:03Speaker 1: I wasn't gonna come down there. And right, nobody stole
- 51:13Speaker 1: your truck, nobody's at your house. Your alarm is fine,
- 51:16Speaker 1: everything is good. But Darrel told me, he said, we
- 51:19Speaker 1: gotta get my wife. We gotta get a good that's
- 51:21Speaker 1: so did we get you? Oh my god, I was sweating.
- 51:27Speaker 1: I was so angry. I was sweating over here. All right,
- 51:32Speaker 1: So tell me this. What is the baddest and I
- 51:34Speaker 1: mean the baddest radio show in the land. So Steve
- 51:38Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show? Did I go too far? Yeah? You did?
- 51:46Speaker 1: You have to ask? I know, Jay, you know probably
- 51:50Speaker 1: look at me a little different. Got the white lady
- 51:52Speaker 1: riled up. You probably look at me different. Proud of you?
- 51:55Speaker 1: You know that. Even now Jay questions that degree the game?
- 52:10Speaker 1: All right? Once again? Baby Tampa One show Thursday two,

- 52:58Speaker 1: really want to be, like, like, can I come at
- 53:00Speaker 1: the Temple Club, which I've never been here? Could I
- 53:03Speaker 1: come from behind the stage or I got walked through
- 53:05Speaker 1: the crowd? What you want to do? That'd be even
- 53:09Speaker 1: low crazy if I come through the crowd slapping people
- 53:12Speaker 1: on the back. Yeah, like I used to, I should
- 53:16Speaker 1: walk through the crowd, slap people on the back. What's up? Man? Stay?
- 53:20Speaker 1: What'sopp man? I ain't done that A long time, man,
- 53:25Speaker 1: A long time. Okay, Okay, once you whistle, I get
- 53:29Speaker 1: it all right, thinking, nephew. Up Next, it is the
- 53:32Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter. I told you the subject, She's falling in
- 53:35Speaker 1: love with a liar. We'll talk about it right after this.
- 53:40Speaker 1: You're listening. It is time now for today's Strawberry Letter.
- 53:46Speaker 1: And if you need advice on relationships, on dating, on work,

- 53:53Speaker 1: Letter to Steve Harvey FM and click submit strawberry letter,
- 53:58Speaker 1: write Steve, Yeah, yeah, I just wanted to see if
- 54:02Speaker 1: that attitude adjustment applied to the struggle. It don't. Yeah up,
- 54:09Speaker 1: hold on tight here it is a strawberry letter. That's right.
- 54:12Speaker 1: We could be reading your letter just like we're reading
- 54:14Speaker 1: this one. Thank you, nephew. Subject She's falling in love
- 54:17Speaker 1: with a liar. Here, Stephen Shirley, I am a fifty
- 54:21Speaker 1: five year old black man and I've been divorced for
- 54:24Speaker 1: two years, and I feel that I'm a great catch
- 54:26Speaker 1: for a nice single woman. Last summer, I met a
- 54:30Speaker 1: beautiful and curvy lady one morning when I stopped to
- 54:33Speaker 1: get coffee on my way to work. I flirted with
- 54:36Speaker 1: her and she flirted back, so I asked if I
- 54:39Speaker 1: could get her number. We exchanged numbers and I told
- 54:43Speaker 1: her I would call her later. On that day, I
- 54:45Speaker 1: started out with a text to break the ice. She
- 54:48Speaker 1: told me that she was thirty one years old, and
- 54:51Speaker 1: I felt funny about telling her my age right off,
- 54:54Speaker 1: because I wanted to see if we were compatible. When
- 54:57Speaker 1: she asked my age, I told her that I was
- 55:00Speaker 1: only forty five years old. I was testing the waters
- 55:03Speaker 1: to see if she would run. She told me that
- 55:05Speaker 1: she didn't have a problem with my age, so it
- 55:08Speaker 1: was on and pop. It fast forward to six months later,
- 55:11Speaker 1: and we're having a great time with each other. Luckily,
- 55:15Speaker 1: I am in good shape and I don't look my age,
- 55:17Speaker 1: so the subject of my age has never come up. Recently,
- 55:21Speaker 1: I met her family and she's met my children, which
- 55:24Speaker 1: shows that this is getting serious. So now I'm worried.
- 55:30Speaker 1: I am torn between having this gorgeous younger woman in
- 55:33Speaker 1: my life and losing her by telling her my real age.
- 55:37Speaker 1: I don't want to mess with her head and make
- 55:39Speaker 1: her think she's falling in love with a liar. Please advise,
- 55:45Speaker 1: all right, sir, Yeah, yeah, I just say, you know,
- 55:49Speaker 1: tell her what you told us in the letter. You
- 55:52Speaker 1: gotta tell her something. Tell her what you told us
- 55:54Speaker 1: in the letter. It hasn't come up yet, but you know,
- 55:57Speaker 1: I'm sure it will. So five isn't that old? You
- 56:01Speaker 1: say you look good for your age, You're in good shape.
- 56:04Speaker 1: You guys are having a good time and all that.
- 56:06Speaker 1: But you know, flying could be a problem depending on
- 56:10Speaker 1: the young lady. I mean, this is not a big lie.
- 56:13Speaker 1: It's not a bad lie or anything like that. So
- 56:16Speaker 1: it's just a matter of how she's going to take
- 56:18Speaker 1: it again. You guys are having fun. Now you're meeting
- 56:21Speaker 1: each other's family. She met your kids, and you're six
- 56:24Speaker 1: months in. You're six months in. So I just say,
- 56:28Speaker 1: you know, do the right thing at some point and
- 56:30Speaker 1: just come clean. Just come clean. You didn't want her
- 56:33Speaker 1: to run. You got to tell her that you thought.
- 56:35Speaker 1: You know, she may have thought you'd be too old
- 56:38Speaker 1: for her at thirty one. She's thirty one and you're
- 56:41Speaker 1: fifty five. So I think if you're honest now, like
- 56:45Speaker 1: you know, especially if this relationship gets into the engagement
- 56:49Speaker 1: stage and you guys start talking about marriage, I think
- 56:52Speaker 1: you should go ahead and come clean because at some
- 56:54Speaker 1: point this is gonna come out. But it's the way
- 56:57Speaker 1: you tell her. And like I said, it's not a
- 56:58Speaker 1: big lie, it's not a bad but it is a
- 57:01Speaker 1: lie that depends on how she feels about lying. She's
- 57:03Speaker 1: thirty one. You guys are having a great time. I
- 57:05Speaker 1: think it'll be all right. Steve, well, dog, you shouldn't
- 57:10Speaker 1: have lied. Let's just go on tell it truth. Now
- 57:13Speaker 1: you got a whole another situation. Excuse me, excuse me, Steve, Yeah,
- 57:19Speaker 1: you're okay, okay, because say just say what you just
- 57:24Speaker 1: said again. I said, well, you shouldn't lie and you,
- 57:31Speaker 1: I mean you know in this situation right here, because
- 57:34Speaker 1: the reason he shouldn't lie or now I can mess
- 57:36Speaker 1: up everything. You should only lie to save yourself, that dog.
- 57:44Speaker 1: I'm just trying to tell you. You don't lie for
- 57:48Speaker 1: this hell, you lie to save yourself. These lies are
- 57:54Speaker 1: essential to the betterment and development of any relationship. Save yourself.
- 58:01Speaker 1: Lying is necessary. Now you wasn't trying. You didn't even
- 58:07Speaker 1: know this woman. That's a life of no damn race,
- 58:11Speaker 1: that's a wasted life. You don't wasted the damn like
- 58:14Speaker 1: what a good life? Now you can't tell another one
- 58:18Speaker 1: because you don't blew your life earlier. You didn't even
- 58:20Speaker 1: know this healthful sitting up here. And you're a fifty
- 58:23Speaker 1: five year old black man. You've been divorced two years.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Last summer you met the beautiful, curvy woman. I'm stopped
- 58:30Speaker 1: at the coffee. I'm flirting with it, she flirted back. Yeah,
- 58:34Speaker 1: ask him, could I get a number? We exchange number?
- 58:36Speaker 1: I told our calling later that day. Yeah, I started
- 58:39Speaker 1: out with a text, you know, to break the ice. See,
- 58:42Speaker 1: that's when you know you old, when you say, I
- 58:44Speaker 1: started out with a text to break the ice. The ice.
- 58:49Speaker 1: That's how they talked. Now. Yeah, I thought i'd break
- 58:52Speaker 1: the ice with a text. She told me she was
- 58:54Speaker 1: thirty one. I felt funny about telling her my age
- 58:58Speaker 1: right off. Why you fifty five? You don't know him
- 59:02Speaker 1: now here? Because I wanted to see if we were compatible.
- 59:05Speaker 1: That's a lie, thumb, that's a lie. You did not
- 59:09Speaker 1: telling you was fifty five. You could have seen if
- 59:11Speaker 1: you was fifty five, and you can still find out
- 59:14Speaker 1: if y'all was compatible. You wanted to see if you
- 59:18Speaker 1: had a chance at getting it at forty five, because
- 59:21Speaker 1: you thought you didn't have a chance of getting it
- 59:24Speaker 1: at fifty five. Yeah, that's why he said he would funny.
- 59:28Speaker 1: That's what it was, this men girl. Because I didn't
- 59:34Speaker 1: think it was a bad lie. Oh. He he had
- 59:37Speaker 1: to lie because he didn't think he could get it
- 59:39Speaker 1: at fifty five. He wanted to see if he could
- 59:41Speaker 1: get it at forty five. That's what the lie was.
- 59:45Speaker 1: It was all about getting it. This wasn't about no
- 59:48Speaker 1: seeing if we was compatible, about to give it. We
- 59:50Speaker 1: don't even know what that means. In the beginning, he
- 59:54Speaker 1: didn't look at her, let me. I'll show you why,
- 59:57Speaker 1: he said he met her. I stopped to get caught
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: off film my way to work. I flirted with it.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: She flirted back. Now, First, she said, last summer, I
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: met a beautiful and curvy lady one morning when I
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: stopped to get her. Beautiful and curvy lady. That's what
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: he saw. I stopped to get coffee. I flirted with her.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: She flirted back. You know why, because she was beautiful
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: and curved. I asked for a number thing exchange number.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: You called it. You broke the ice. She told her
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: she was thirty one. You went old, Hell, she might
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: not like me because I'm fifty five. Let me try
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: forty five. If she had said forty five was too old,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: you came back and said, I was just joking. I'm
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: forty yeah. Yeah. She told me she didn't have a
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: problem with my age. I was testing the water to
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: see if she was running. I told her I was
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: only forty five. I was testing water to see if
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: she run. She told me she didn't have a problem
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: with my age. That's because you said forty five food.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: Then the next line, so it was on and popping.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: You fifty five, you're too old to say that. Now
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: he trying to talk young. Now it's an old and popper.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: It ain't even popping for your ass in years. He's
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: trying to talk young. Yes, so now I was old
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: and popping. He trying to talk forty five five, but

- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Strawberry letters. She's falling in love with a liar. Dude.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Met this chick at the coffee shop. She beautiful, she curvy,
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: looked thick thing. You know what I'm saying. He looking
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: at her, she looking at him. They got to flirt.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: They exchange numbers. You texted the breakdown. She told her
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: she was thirty one. You said, oh him, I can't
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: tell it. I'm gonna lie. I told I was forty five.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: She said she didn't have problem with your age. Oh okay.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Then when she told you it was forty five, he
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: was testing the waters she had run. She told me
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: she ain't that a problem my age. Then he started talking.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: You know, he would own a problem always only problem
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: is Rice Christians snap cracker problem. Yeah, all right. Now
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: fast forward six months later. We have a great time
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: with each other. That means they all in it. Luckily,
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: I mean good shape and I don't look my age,
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: so the subject of my age has never come up. Recently,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: I met a family. She hadn't met my children, which
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: shows that this is getting serious. So now I'm wared. Yeah,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: I know you're wearing you ought to be warried because
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: she's gonna have one of them kids. How old they are?
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: As long as I damn baby, say she thirty five.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: She's been looking at your ass when you didn't had
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: a baby at ten As you ask a lie them
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: kids is in their thirties. Pard, No, you've got a problem.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: But Steve, can I ask you something you can Usually
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: men don't lie about their age, right, they lie about
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: other things, but at their age. No, I don't get this.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: I don't get this. He wasted one. Now he could
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: run the risk of losing this little fine thing. So
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: now I'm wearing I'm torn between having this gorgeous younger
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: woman in my life and losing her by telling her
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: my real age. I don't want to mess with her
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: head and make her think she's falling in love with
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: a liar. Please advise you lie dog now. Eventually you're
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: gonna have to tell the truth because she's gonna get
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: the snooping round anyway. Well, you know, it's a couple
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: of things that's gonna you know that she gonna know,
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: like you know, like you know, what is all the
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: pills on this damn nice stand that you've been raked
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: off in this drawing. Excuse me? What is hypertension? See,
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: it's a lot of stuff. So here's a re enact man.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Come on, I'm the man trying to hide my age.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Jay you Oh, Glenda, Glen, I'm Glennis. I'm Glennis. Glenda.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: Uh huh, hey, Glenn's what's going on? To come over?
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: What's going on? Hey? Girl? What popping? Okay, all right,
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Let's get JIGGI Yeah, lovely
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: place she got here to night? Oh yeah, it snaps
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: it is. I love that big back TV. You got that.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: That's nice, you know, you know, you know, you know,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: my daddy passed and he gave it to huh. Yeah,
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I wanted to have something a little more father about it.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: I got that console over. Oh okay. And then the
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: pictures you got on the wall of the dog shooting
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: pool that is yeah. I like that. Yeah. Yeah, that's
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: pretty hot, right dad, that dogs shooting pool. I got
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: one of the same dogs praying too. Oh okay, Yeah,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: So what you want to talk about? What? What? What's well?
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: You know, I just want to talk to you a
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: little bit about, you know, some things that I've been
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: going through and feeling now just wondering if you like
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: just just is that is that liniment? You know, a
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: strong width of liniment. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's icy.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Hot okay, all right, that's it, didn't you know that's
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: the same thing shock wear. You know, part of your
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: olds wear that, all right? All right, yeah, part of
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: your old people wear that. Well I use I said, hot, okay,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: all right, what do you want to talk about? Well,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: you know, my daddy you being gay? But are you?
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: I said hot? Okay cause shock us it cause shock party.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: So but you know, I kind of want to talk
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: to you a little bit, you know, cause or you know,
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: I got some things. You know, you've probably been looking
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: around the apartment. One thing, you know why I got
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: that big giant wooden spoon and fork on the wall.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: Probably been tripping by the wall and that paneling in him.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: I just did a little stuff like that, you know.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: I just wanted to tell you know, I decorate like
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: that because you know, I try to keep it old.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: You know what. I really like it with the eyes
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: that go yeah, one of those from hate Glenn and
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: Glenn Glenna, Hain't that Poppa? Yeah? That is that's poppa.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: But you know, I got something I want to tell
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: you though, Okay, be honest with you. Know, remember you
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: men when we met at the coffee shop. Yeah, I
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: was just looking at you getting Yeah you know, girl,
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: you did too. That's what got this whole thing started.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: We exchanged numbers. You remember that? Uh you remember that
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: time I broke the ice and I text you and
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: I told you that you know where we could hook up?
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: And then you told me that you was thirty one.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: Uh huh, I said, boy, God, don't look at him.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: This is what you said when you saw me. Girl,
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: I said that in a whole lot bolt, I said,
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: this must be my dream countrue. All right, all right,
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: I'm feeling in the same way. I'm feeling a little
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: something too. So so let me ask you this. When
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: you saw me, how old you think I will? When
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: I first looked at you, because you had on I mean,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: first of all, I liked the way you had those
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: creases in your pants like it was. That was nice.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: That was so nice. I thought, maybe Bob the age
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: you told me. I accepted that. Why how old are you? Well?
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: You know, you know, seeing is believing. You know what
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: I'm saying? You know what I'm saying. You know what
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: I'm saying. Girl, I'm telling you you keep on getting
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: it forty five right him? You know it's it's only yeah,
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: I'm fitting. I'm fitting. I'm fitting the bounce, Hi and
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: start Glennison, Glenda, thank you guys for listen. You can
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: email us or instagram us your thoughts on today's Strawberry
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Letter at Steve Harvey f M coming up in about
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: ten minutes, comedy Roulette with the Fellas, and Travis Scott
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: got a super deal. Wait till you hear this? Uh
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: coming back right after this you're listening to the Steven Show.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Do you guys know how Travis Scott Hip hop star
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: Travis Scott took a lot of heat and got a
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: lot of backlash for agreeing to perform at the Super
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: Bowl halftime show. Well, this was all due to the situation,
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: you know of the players kneeling in support of Colin Kaepernick. Well,
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Travis has agreed to perform with Maroon five. So oh
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: wait wait, so why did he get in trouble for performing?
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: Because you know people are saying, yeah, they're gonna boycott
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: the game, and you know all of that. Rihanna down
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: the gage a lot of you know, select yeah, yeah,
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: to support what was I mean? It's cool, But hold up,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: wait a minute, y'all. The players is playing right exactly.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: But you know he got backlash for it, but I don't.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: I don't think that's fair. Man. The players are playing
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: in this game well, and Travis Scott is going to
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: perform now because um, like I said, he got a
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: lot of backlash. But you're right, so you're saying, support
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: the players, Steve, the players is playing. I'm cool with
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: the people that want to boycott it. Yeah, like Rihanna, Now,
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: I think that's a cool statement for major stars like
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: that to say that to the NFL. But the players
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: is playing in the game now if y'all ain't boycotting
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: the super Bowl. But I I'm not in agreement with
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: him getting flak for performing at the halftime of the
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: super Bowl, for agreeing to do it right, for agreeing
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: to do it now, if there are those who want
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: to boycott it, I'm okay with it. The problem with
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: boycotting the super Bowl is if the players were boycotting
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: the super Bowl, I'd be with you. But the players
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: are not boycotting the super Bowl. Yeah, they're going to work. Yeah,
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: they're going to work. They show and if any team
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: works to get to the super Bowl, I can assure
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: you there going well. And all of these players right
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: now are willing to go to the super Bowl. Well,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: so I don't understand. Well, listen to this story, Steve,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: I mean, excuse me. There's even more to it than that.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: All right, A lot of people, you know, again, we
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: were saying they're they're boycotting it and supporting Colin Kaepernick.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: But Travis has agreed to perform. You know, ma Room
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: five was going to perform all along. A lot of
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: people were saying, since they're in Atlanta, why is an
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: usher performing? Why some of these Atlanta rappers performing things
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: like that? All right, but Maroon five is gonna be there.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: Travis Scott is going to be there. There is a
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: catch though, Now, Travis Scott told the NFL that they
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: had to pony up if they wanted him to take
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: the stage. While halftime performers, you know, they don't get
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: paid any money. They do not get paid. But together
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: Travis Scott and the NFL will donate half a million
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: dollars to Dream Corps. What does Dream Corps? You say.
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: It's a nonprofit organization described as a social justice accelerator
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: which backs initiatives that close prison doors and open doors
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: of opportunity for all. So that's a good thing. Yeah,
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: that's a really good thing right there. I didn't even
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: know that. But I still support the brother. I just
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: think that if the players are playing in any game,
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: I think us supporting it. I mean, I mean us boycott.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: It doesn't make but if you want a boycott, if
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: that's your way. I think Rihanna is making a statement
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: on behalf getting. That's cool if if you want to
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: make the statement, but I don't think it should be
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: required because some people are taking that stance that all
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: people have to take the stand simply cause the players
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: are playing in the game. Yeah, and Big Boy's gonna
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: perform as well. He's gonna be up there too because
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: he's from Atlanta. So it's the super Bowl. It's not
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: going to change. Listen to me. We can support Colin Kaepernick,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: which I do. On the problem is they flip the narrative.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: They made it about something that it wasn't. So now
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: if we're no longer kneeling, that form of protest for
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: that moment is over. But at once again, I can
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: appreciate a Rihanna for turning it down to support. I
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: like that about her, and that's wonderful, and any other
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: big starter wants to do it, But I don't think
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: we can ask everybody to do it, especially since the
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: players are player. Okay, all right, it's my opinion. I
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: mean you can have a different super deal how he
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: made it work, Yeah, and then for him to do
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: something like that, I just think it's a great smart move,
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: smart move, all right. Time for We're gonna move on
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: and get onto a comedy Roulette. Steve and so Chathony
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: Brown take it away, please, I have to explain it.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: And the reason I have to explain, Hey man, just
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: explain this. We have new listeners every day, every day,
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: people who are not familiar with some of the things
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: that we do on this show. Therefore, I will take
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: the time to explain comedy Roulette. It's a routine that
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: we do from time to time. It goes like this.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: We take four subjects, we put them on a wheel.
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: We spun the wheel where it stops. Because we are
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: all comedians, accomplished comedians, we can do the damn thing.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Could that have been any floor. I think it was,
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: though it was very thorough. All right. These are the subjects. Okay,
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: things you say to get people out of your house
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: after the football game, after the party because your team lost. Uh.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: Number two stupid things people argue about. We do that
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: all the time on this show. Things you say when
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: you're lost, uh. And number four things people say, who
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: you who owe you money? All right, let's spend the wheel, Dave,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: spun it, spun it m Okay. Things things you say
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: to get people out of your house. That's where it landed.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: After the football game your team lost. Okay, short time,
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: let's go all right, hey man, somebody outside breaking it
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: calls good one. Let's go guys, Hey yo, the heat
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: gonna be up in this room right here in a
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: few minutes. What if Come on, come on, nephew, Hey listen.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: My auntie. My auntie in the back room and hook cast.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: Can anybody help me move her to the front? All right?
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Come on, Steve close. And I think you say to
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: get people out of your house after your team won
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: the football lost the football game, Well, we out of wings,
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: all right. Coming up at the top of the hour.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: There's been a lot going on in the world of
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: R Kelly. We'll get into it right after this. You're listening, Well, guys,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: there's been so much going on in the world of
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: Our Kelly. Here's some of the latest developments. In case
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: you haven't been keeping up. Celene Dion has pulled her
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Our Kelly collab of I'm Your Angel, Remember that that song? Yeah,
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: number one man. Yeah, she's pulled it from streaming devices.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: A talking head and the surviving R Kelly docuse series
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: journalist Terrey became collateral damage when he was accused of
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: workplace sexual harassment by a former Vibe coworker. Uh yeah,
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: in the docuseries talking about Wow No, No, he's accused.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: The Illinois Spring Break Jam concert, which goes down in
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: April at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, had his application denied
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: due to security concerns. R Kelly was slated to host
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: that annual event. Take that off, and then on Friday,
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: a banner flew over the Sony RCA offices with a
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: message to drop R Kelly was yeah, from the label
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: they want to drop him, Sony. What do you think, Steve?
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: I mean, you know, UM, I don't. It's it's hard
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: because you know, UM, I try not to wish bad
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: on nobody, but then, damn dog. I mean, I didn't
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: know any of this was at this level of this extent.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: So when you make a bed, you got to lay
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: in it. You got to lay in it. Man, it's yours.
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: So you know, man, this is the thing. I mean,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: I just use Bill Cosby as an example. Man, look
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: at it. Eventually, Man, if it's been so many cases
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: of corrupt behavior, something has to happen many something has
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: to happen. And then listen to this. Steve ian La
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: van Zandt recently revealed that r Kelly had contacted her
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: for help before the docuseries came out on Lifetime Surviving
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: r Kelly. She says she shut that down because r
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: Kelly wasn't ready, she said. Bottom line, she said, Art
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: is not willing to tell the truth about the allegations.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: So until he can be honest, she cannot fix his life.
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: She can't help them. And yah, she's bright. Oh you're
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: not going to get her called upon a trick back. Yeah, no, no, no, no,
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: no no no no, not that system. No true. Also,
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: sources say r Kelly has been suffering from panic attacks. Bett, Yeah,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: that have been severe enough to require medical attention. Um. Yeah,
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: the problem for R is that he's shocked by the
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: overwhelming backlash he's getting from celebrities in the general public. Yeah.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: He also can't believe that people actually believe the accusers.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: I had that same thing having to me when I
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: have a show, Shirley, same dawn panic. What you mean
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: you didn't happen? How do you take away so much
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: music that R Kelly, not just the music he did,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: music he did with other people. How do you how
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: do you pull all up? I don't look, Look, I
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: don't know that you can take his music. I mean
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: it's done. You know. The sad part of it is, Um,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: the other side of his life Musically, he was a
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: musical genius. Yeah, you're talking about separating the art from
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: the artist. That's and that's what it's getting tough to do. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: you know, separate the art from the artist as an artist. Man,
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: perfectly fine. Yeah, I mean, and you're exactly right. He
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: is a genius musically, no doubt. Feline Dion song, he's
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: his vocals are not on that song, but he wrote it. Yeah,
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: so she's pulling it and you know, yeah, Lady Gaga
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Michael Jackson, Jannet Jackson. I mean, the list goes on Maxwell, everybody,
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: so you know, and and like you know, I hate
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: to be the one that's piling on, but you know what, man,
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: it's I think the surprising it for me was. And
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: if he's upset with me for believing all the people
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: on the tape, I mean everybody does. You're trying to
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: tell me no one set up there and spoke the truth.
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: That's hard to believe, man, And listening to that the
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: way they talked about it, it's hard to believe that
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: you can say all of these are false accusations. They
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: all saying the same thing. It's hard for everybody tell
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: the same lie. Right, they have to make up new
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: lies because new lives don't truth. But you ain't got
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: no fact behind it, or when your facts match up
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: with day facts. When that lady went out there and
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: got her daughter on camera, hold up dog, something going
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: on him. Something is crazy. And I think you're right.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: That's why he was able to hide for so many
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: years because of the music and because we loved his
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: music so much. We just could not believe here's that. Yeah,
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: that's what you want. That threw me when the girl
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: on there that was saying when she found out that
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: she was having sex with a fourteen year old girl,
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: it made her sick. Yes, yes, right there. She has
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: no reason to admit that on camp right, there's no
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: benefit to her. What's a lie about that? No, no, no, no,
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: no no, because you got to deal with too much
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: after you say that. Oh my god, that one right
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: there was that right there affected me. It did me
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: too deeply because I went wow, man, because she has
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: no reason to tell that lot. It's nothing in it
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: for her to tell that lot. You know. But if
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: you're gonna stay in constant denial like you, I ain't
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: ever done nothing wrong, then doc can't, can't nobody. If
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: you know, you'd be better off throwing yourself at the
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: mercy of the court. Yeah, I have a problem. I
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: need prayer, I need saving. Youd be better off. You
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: could get some church people at least come around you
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: and have an exorcist for you. You know, they're doing
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: exorcism for suicide. But you know, with Steve, there's still
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: a lot of people that are on his side. Though
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: there's still he's still a lot of support. Yeah, And
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: the story the Illinois Spring break right. He was that, Yeah,
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: I'm cool. I mean, I'm cool if you want to
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: stay support. But it's crazy. Man. The only way, the
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: only rolled back he got from this is he got
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: to he got to come clean with something, because, like
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: a Yanna say, if you ain't gonna be honest, we
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: can't fix your life. Yeah, you gotta be able to
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: tell the truth. That's the first step. Ain't nobody praying
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: for you. We ain't gotten any prey for That's right.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: All right, coming up, we'll have more of the Steve
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show right after this. You're listening to the
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: String Show, all right. Negotiations between the teachers who have walked,
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: who have worked without a contract since July of last year,
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: of two years ago, July twenty seventeen, I should say,
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: and the Los Angeles Unified School District LAUSD, they've broken down,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: and more than thirty thirty thousand teachers and other faculty
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: members of the country's second largest school district are now
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: officially on strike for the first time in thirty years.
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: The district says, schools. Yeah, that's that's deep right there.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: The district says, schools will remain open and classes will
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: be in session. During the strike, the classes will be
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: staffed by administrators, volunteers, and newly hired substitute teachers who
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: are crossing the picket line. The union is demanding higher pay,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: smaller classes, more counselors, more nurses, more library excuse me,
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: more brarians. So, Stephen, some schools classes have more than
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: forty five students one at teacher thirty two students at
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: my school was huge. Yeah that's five. That's too minutes,
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: way too many. Man, that's too many. Now you can't teach. Yeah,
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: it's just a lot. I agree, too much. Yeah, the
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: union waited as long as it could. Um a strike
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: was the last resort. They had no choice. Students that
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: don't listen like they used to back in the day.
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: Something you get and you can't get. And so the
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: teachers that are the subs, that are the teachers that
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: are crossing the picket line, they're gonna get paid, right
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: yea substitute. Yeah, so I mean they have some money
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: because if they don't, I'm crossing back cross. Yeah. This
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: is terrible the way we do our teachers. It really,
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: really is it really in this country. It's so much
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: that teachers have to deal with our educators now to
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: pay for stuff. Yes, remember when the teachers in Oklahoma
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: went on strike behind that, Remember that they didn't have
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: chairs and resources and deaths and books and all the
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: supplies that they need. When you decide to teach it
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: something you really want to do, it's yeah, you don't
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: go in there for the money. Yeah, You're going in
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: because you have a a desire, a burning And it's
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: such a gift to be a great teacher. It's some
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: people that's been teaching, man, that has literally changed young's
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: people's directions and lives. I can tell you of teachers
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: Ray Davis, Miss Cleveland, Miss Vivian Adams, who had a
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: profound effect on my life. Mister Sherlock, I can tell you, man,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: Principal Clayton, I know the people who changed my life. Man,
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be here because
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: they had a profound effect on it. And and but
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: we treat them like they like like that nothing. We
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: all we all have teachers that we just in mind
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: that just made a big, a big, big difference. Yeah,
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: and that was such a prestigious job. Uh, you know
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: in black families growing up, that was such a prestigious.
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: She's a school teacher. He's a school he's a principal
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: the first time out in public man. Yeah, yeah, because
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: we held our teachers in such high esteem. You eat here, Yeah,
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: you eat it, you actually eat right. Yeah. We love
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: our teachers and we support our teachers. And hopefully this
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: strike won't last as long as the government shut down.
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: It's a lot going on in this country. Yeah. It
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: used to teachers striking for a good reason. Yeah. We
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: didn't shut the government down over damn wall When you
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: are costing these people rent car notes all times. We're
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: talking about selling her cons so she can pay her road. Right.
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: I would rather have a roof over my head than
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: a day of wall down at the border. Yep, Jess
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: run Steve, all right, we'll have more of the Steve
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show coming up right after this. You're listening
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: to show Steve with everybody posting these pictures and talking
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: about aging your birthday of courses in two days. Yes, lord,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: So here are a few birthday self reflection questions for you,
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: mister Harvey. Sir, okay, so, so what are you happy
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: about from the past year that you will continue to
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: be happy about this year? She said you changed your
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: attitude earlier. Oh that was bad. I think he's bad. Yeah,
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: rephrase the question, Shirley. Okay, so you were happy about
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: something last year twenty eighteen, right, okay, So are you
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: that happiness is so good you're going to continue it
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: in this year? Yes? Oh yeah, yeah? Yeah? Okay, Well
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: what was it? Yeah? I made the attitude adjustment last year, okay,
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: and I'm going to continue it. Okay. Think about this.
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: You're a comedian. What made you laugh the hardest? I
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: mean hard laughing most recently? Oh, when I was watching
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: that video or that white dude jumping over that canal
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: and he didn't make it that video. I watched that
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: video player. I'm hollid. I'm talking about holli la because
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: you are laughing hearted than that little boy snatching that
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: thing at that bird mouth. Yeah. I laughed harder than
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: that the dude jumping over the canal. That okay, that's good.
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: I think we know the answer to this when you
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: just answered it. Compared to this time last year, are
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: you happier or sadder? I'm not happier or sadder, but
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: I just have another us man. I'm not happier or sad.
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: It wasn't unhappy. You know. I just decided to intentionally
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: incorporate brightness every day at all costs. It is a choice.
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: It is a choice because I focus more this year
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: on the words that come out of my mouth and
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: the actions that I do. They gotta be more. They
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: got to coincide more. Because if a man is as
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: he's thinking, I wanted to elevate my thinking this year.
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: So that's something. Because Jay just texted me today, words hurt.
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: Surely he's just TEXTI because I let him have it. Picture,
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: I let him have it. Yeah, it was are you
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: are yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Are you thinner or fatter? Oh yeah,
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: definitely fatter? Right after every Christmas and and and my
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: and my weight loss challenge starts on Monday. Oh, this
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: coming Monday. After this coming Monday, I will let everybody
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: know what it is. I've already started my workout routine.
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: I already know. On my birthday, I'm will trip a
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: little bit and I will have my first cigar the
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: day after my actual birthday at my birthday party. Okay,
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: I will have my first cigar the year, yes, and
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: I won't have another one until man, I don't know
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: one later I can I ask the questions, Steve, if
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: you could wake up at a weight, just wake up
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: and you didn't have to work out anything, what weight
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: would it be? Two sixteen? Already? I don't sixteen? He
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: said it with everything in him, sixteen two sixteen. Y'all
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: quit talking. Yeah, I probably want to respond, Steve. Steve,
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: you hear me. Damn it, Steve, you hear me. A
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: right coming up, we'll be back. Steve already said when
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: we first started the show that he had his closing remarks,
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: so we'll hear those right after this. You're listening to
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: all right, Steve, here we are, last break of the day. Um,
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: you're ready with your closing Yeah, all right, let's go.
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: You know, Um, earlier in the show, I was having
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: a discussion I think, off air with the team, and
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: we were talking about a couple of things. But in
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: light of what I've been doing with my closing remarks
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: so far since the beginning of the year, since we
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: got back off on break, I've wanted to be as
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: encouraging for this two thousand nineteen, you know, like it's
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: no longer you know, I'm not saying Happy New Year anymore.
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: We at the midway point out that's happy New Year's over.
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: I'm just talking about two thousand nineteen and the way
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: to make the two nineteen your best year. And one
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: of the adjustments that I've had to make this year
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: is realizing that my attitude controls my altitude. That if
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: you change your attitude, you change your altitude. So I've
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: been saying that to people for years and years, but
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: I really had to refresh it with myself this year
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: because I've been faced with some people giving me some
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: news and I know that they're intent of giving me
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: the news is to do damage to me. Have you
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: ever had a person like bring you some news gleefully
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: that wasn't really good news, but they did it gleefully.
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: Or have you ever met a person that's always bringing
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: you bad news? I mean as soon as they hear
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: something negative about you, or they can't wait to bring
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: it to you. Well, I have people around me that
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: I have people that I'm in business with that I
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: like that who have never been comfortable with my position.
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: You have people in your life that's just for some
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: reason you don't even know why, they're just not comfortable
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: with you being in the position you in. Everybody got
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: them in their life. If you take close survey, you'll
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: find someone who's just not comfortable with you being in
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: the position you in. They had nothing putting there, nothing
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: to do with putting you there, nothing, they didn't help
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: you get there. They just got a problem with where
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: you are. So I'm in business, like I say, with people,
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: and I've been watching them make decisions towards me, and
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: it's been with ill intent. But you know what, having
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: a relationship I have with this God, I serve I
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: don't really pay too much attention to them folks, because
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: with all the ill intent they got with all them
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: the malice. I mean, I'm watching people cut off their
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: nose despite their face. I'm watching it right in front
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: of my very eyes. You've all seen it too, don't
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: you know? Somebody who's tried to do something to you,
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: even if it meant hurting and destroying themselves, they think
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: it's more important to watch you fall. Have you ever
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: seen a person dig a hole for you, but have
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: to dig another one right beside it, and they ended
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: up falling in the hole and you walked away. Everybody
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: didn't seen that. I'm living it, and what I've come
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: to come to the conclusion I came to this today.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: You can't break what you didn't make, and you can't
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: take what you didn't give. And you know what, I'm
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: gonna say that to somebody real soon. I'm gonna tell
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: him though, but not in a mean way, but in
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: a way that the God I served gives me the
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: confidence to say that you can't break what you didn't make,
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: and you can't take what you what you didn't give.
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: I know some people in my life, man, who think
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: that they can make moves to break me. But how
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: you gonna break me when you ain't make me? How
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: how can a person break you when they're not the
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: ones who made you. They can't break you, folks, because
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: they didn't make you. Folks. Get comfortable with that notion.
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: Be assured in that notion right there. Stop. Martin Luther
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: King said, a man can't ride your back unless you
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: bend over. How they're gonna break you when they didn't
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: make you. You can't break me because you didn't make me.
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: And here's the other part of it. You can't take
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: what you didn't give. You didn't give me my life,
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: You can't take mine. You didn't give me my means
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: you can't take mine. You didn't give me my gifts.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: You can't take mine. You didn't give me the permission
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: to succeed, So you can't take my success. You're not
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: the author of my destiny. So how are you gonna
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: tell me what I'm fit to be? You can't take
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: what you didn't give. You can't take my confidence. You
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: can't take my nerve. You can't take my resolve. You
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: can't take my spirit. You can't take my joy. You
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: can't take my knowledge. You can't take none of my experiences.
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: You can't take my exposure. You can't take my know how.
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: I have gone through so many things in my sixty
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: one years of living that what you're talking about doing
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: I've seen before, and every time somebody thought they was
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: bringing me down, every single time that God I served
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: lifts me right on up higher than I was before.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: Steve Harvey and all the rest of my listeners, we're
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: gonna stay on the wall, were staying on the wall.
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: You can't take us off the wall because you ain't
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: put us on the wall. Then my closing remarks, this
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: sounds like a sermon slash closing remarks. Let the church say,
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: ain't man I'm going that way with it this year,
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: all right, now that mc getting aggressively told them. For
