- 0:00Speaker 1: My next guest is one of my favorite people in Hollywood.
- 0:02Speaker 1: She's an actress, author, talk show host, activists, philanthropists, and
- 0:06Speaker 1: has been an entertainment veteran her entire life. Her careers
- 0:10Speaker 1: and actress dates back more than three decades and has
- 0:13Speaker 1: led her to become a voice for her father, her son,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and community with the Holly Rod Foundation. The Holly Rod
- 0:19Speaker 1: Foundation was formed in eighteen seventy seven by actress on
- 0:23Speaker 1: My Introduced and her husband NFL quarterback Rodney Pete. She
- 0:29Speaker 1: is on the show today to discuss the upcoming charity gala,
- 0:32Speaker 1: plus other great things that happened in her life. Please
- 0:35Speaker 1: working to money making conversation again, Miss Holly Robinson Pete,
- 0:41Speaker 1: Good morning. Okay, you don't worry about it because because
- 0:49Speaker 1: you know what we're you're gonna do. Rishawn gonna make
- 0:52Speaker 1: the donation during the interview, because I'm gonna walk through
- 0:55Speaker 1: because first of all, we're gonna go to go to
- 0:57Speaker 1: w W dot Holly Rod dot com, dot dot org
- 1:02Speaker 1: dot right there. I'm going right there now, tell everybody
- 1:05Speaker 1: why I'm setting up making the donation, make a five
- 1:07Speaker 1: thousand dollar donation. Oh my goodness, you know why why
- 1:11Speaker 1: You're doing it because you are one of the most
- 1:14Speaker 1: stand up people that I know in this business that
- 1:16Speaker 1: I've ever met. That's why you're doing it. But the
- 1:20Speaker 1: nonprofit is something I'm so proud of. Not to celebrate
- 1:23Speaker 1: our twenty one anniversary at our Design Care events so
- 1:27Speaker 1: into fashion show and concert in California and Los Angeles
- 1:31Speaker 1: and UM. We celebrate UM people who are inspirational, and
- 1:37Speaker 1: we celebrate corporations that are compassionate, and we have a
- 1:40Speaker 1: good old time for our autism and Parkinson's. A lot
- 1:43Speaker 1: of people know my son r J has autism, that
- 1:46Speaker 1: my dad, Matt Robinson, had Parkinson's, and actually my brother
- 1:50Speaker 1: Matt Robinson has Parkinson's right now. I don't know if
- 1:53Speaker 1: you knew that, Brashana, my brother has Parkinsons. But so
- 1:56Speaker 1: we are fighting for families impacted by both autism and
- 1:59Speaker 1: Parkinson's and it has been a really amazing labor of love. UM.
- 2:06Speaker 1: You have to be passionate about philanthropy when you're raising money.
- 2:10Speaker 1: It's called creative begging. Although I don't have to get
- 2:12Speaker 1: to creative with you, which is always always. Credit card
- 2:15Speaker 1: is out. Now the credit card is out. I'm a
- 2:18Speaker 1: silver sponsor, have different sponsor level. I'm going with the silver. Yes,
- 2:21Speaker 1: you're responsive. God, I'm doing that now. Keep telling, keep
- 2:28Speaker 1: telling about it, keep telling everybody about the who's the
- 2:31Speaker 1: who's on the show, Who's who's Who are you honoring
- 2:33Speaker 1: this year? So this year we're honoring Emil Gloria. She's
- 2:37Speaker 1: a Latina actress who earned his friend and also amazing
- 2:41Speaker 1: special Needs UH Champion. She has a sister with special
- 2:45Speaker 1: needs and amazing honor her. Were honoring a young man
- 2:48Speaker 1: named Cody I'm sorry, named Callie Callen Bennett Um and Kllen.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Callen is a basketball player who's the first basketball player
- 2:58Speaker 1: with autism to be recruited to a D one school,
- 3:01Speaker 1: which is a big deal. He's on a camp state
- 3:04Speaker 1: And so we're honoring Kalen. And then we're honoring this
- 3:07Speaker 1: young man Cody Lee. Everybody saw him on America's Got Talent.
- 3:11Speaker 1: He's blind, he has autism. He's saying Donny Hathaway and
- 3:14Speaker 1: blew everybody away completely. So he's coming to perform for
- 3:18Speaker 1: us and we're honoring him. We're also honoring a man
- 3:21Speaker 1: named Jimmy Joy. He is he has Parkinson's. He's on
- 3:24Speaker 1: American Ninja Warriors, So you see people who are doing
- 3:27Speaker 1: things despite autism and Parkinson's and changing the world. And
- 3:30Speaker 1: then we are having a fashion show, um designer Tamela
- 3:36Speaker 1: and uh we are having UM an amazing performance by Cameo.
- 3:42Speaker 1: So I've been trying to get I've been trying to
- 3:44Speaker 1: get Cameo to Design Care for a long time. UM.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Cameo is is always hot and Larry Blackman, but I've
- 3:52Speaker 1: been talking to him for a long time. So he's
- 3:53Speaker 1: going to perform with his group. UM ever since Beyonce,
- 3:58Speaker 1: Uh did this just the the sample the power of Beyonce,
- 4:02Speaker 1: the sample of candy in her new song let Go.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I mean, very very even higher up on the radar.
- 4:09Speaker 1: So it's gonna be a really great night, Rashaanna, We're
- 4:11Speaker 1: gonna have a good time, eat party and raise a
- 4:13Speaker 1: lot of money. Well, you just got my donation five
- 4:16Speaker 1: thousand dollars. You know what processed. I mean, I knew
- 4:21Speaker 1: I was gonna have a money making conversations. But come
- 4:23Speaker 1: on down, Rashan, You're good to go. And just emailed
- 4:26Speaker 1: me back event Bright said your tickets for Design Care
- 4:29Speaker 1: twin and eighteen. I get four tickets. It said, you're
- 4:33Speaker 1: good to go. Keep your tickets handy. The eventage July
- 4:36Speaker 1: twenty seven. Correct, that's correct. Good, Okay, I'm already just
- 4:43Speaker 1: happy to hear event bright is working properly. So thank
- 4:45Speaker 1: you for that. Everything's working properably, because when you do
- 4:48Speaker 1: it right and you're doing a great cause. And uh,
- 4:50Speaker 1: last time he was on the show, you you know
- 4:52Speaker 1: a big fan of your husband, Rodney told him for
- 4:54Speaker 1: the first time live how much of a fan I
- 4:56Speaker 1: am for him being the man that he is and
- 4:59Speaker 1: also what he's overcome. As far as in sports, we
- 5:02Speaker 1: all know that the position he played with quarterback and
- 5:05Speaker 1: still to this day is a position that is questioned
- 5:08Speaker 1: often that whether his players too fast, she's smart enough
- 5:12Speaker 1: to play the position. And this year we had Kyler
- 5:14Speaker 1: Murray the number one pick in the draft and then
- 5:16Speaker 1: qutioned his height and he still used to be the
- 5:19Speaker 1: first pick question always questioned. Now, while while he was
- 5:23Speaker 1: he was talking a little bit about some of the guests,
- 5:25Speaker 1: I want to break down a little detail about some
- 5:27Speaker 1: of the guests, like Eva Longoria. She has a very
- 5:30Speaker 1: hit show that just aired on the airs on ABC
- 5:33Speaker 1: tonight called The Grand Hotel and Us. She's not just
- 5:38Speaker 1: on that she executive produced it, she directed it. She
- 5:41Speaker 1: just she's an empress, like she could just do pretty
- 5:45Speaker 1: much anything. So I'm really inspired by her. But her
- 5:47Speaker 1: heart is always in the right place and she's always
- 5:50Speaker 1: been a major donor to Holly Rid her and her
- 5:52Speaker 1: husband absolutely And then who else did you mentioned? I
- 5:55Speaker 1: think you said Riva Martin? Riva Martin? I did? I
- 5:58Speaker 1: forgot if I mentioned Riva. Thank you for bringing her up.
- 6:00Speaker 1: And Eva is uh an autism hero, she is, but
- 6:05Speaker 1: she does everything just like Eva. She's on CNN, she's
- 6:09Speaker 1: a you know, political political pundit, she's an advocate, she's activist,
- 6:13Speaker 1: she's a mom and autism mom. Um. She's raising so
- 6:17Speaker 1: much funds for kids with autism in community like south
- 6:20Speaker 1: central l A where they're virtually forgotten. Um. We have
- 6:25Speaker 1: been partnered and friends and on the same mission for
- 6:27Speaker 1: many years. And so I cannot wait to honor Mr
- 6:30Speaker 1: Reva Martin because she is just phenomenal and what she does.
- 6:34Speaker 1: And it's really amazing because the tickets are for the
- 6:37Speaker 1: event of five hundred dollars each and what all comes
- 6:40Speaker 1: with that when they when they purchased a ticket or
- 6:42Speaker 1: any gifts, any is a meal. Yes we have. We
- 6:47Speaker 1: have amazing food, we have awesome entertainment obviously, and you're
- 6:51Speaker 1: gonna be treat every and it's a tax deductible donation
- 6:53Speaker 1: of course, and you're just gonna have the best time ever.
- 6:56Speaker 1: You're going to get back to an amazing cause. Um,
- 6:59Speaker 1: you are going to get the world's best gift bag.
- 7:02Speaker 1: You know, so funny, ra Sean, I'm always so over
- 7:04Speaker 1: the top an virgo, right because as I am, I
- 7:08Speaker 1: as am I do you too get so I get
- 7:12Speaker 1: so over the top about it and making sure that really,
- 7:16Speaker 1: you know, big, it's a great bag, and I just
- 7:18Speaker 1: fine tune every little item. Well, I went to the
- 7:22Speaker 1: huge event of the night, Bruno Mars performed and it
- 7:24Speaker 1: was a big foundation event And when we walked out
- 7:26Speaker 1: to know they're gonna have a big gift bag like
- 7:29Speaker 1: a knapsack and a cap, I said, obviously you don't
- 7:34Speaker 1: go to these events get back. But that's just something
- 7:37Speaker 1: that design care we're known for. Right. Well, you know
- 7:39Speaker 1: the thing about it is that that's just my personality
- 7:42Speaker 1: and obviously that's your personality too, because because when you
- 7:45Speaker 1: go to event the gift bag, you know, I've been
- 7:47Speaker 1: just an amazing event. That gift bag, you know you
- 7:49Speaker 1: have to have a help to get it out the door.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Can you can you help me with my gift bag?
- 7:54Speaker 1: I really appreciate it, and so and always your pullet
- 7:58Speaker 1: car pull cars because I never when they will make
- 8:00Speaker 1: me mad when they give me a fruit basket, there's
- 8:02Speaker 1: my gift bag. Really, I feel the same way. I
- 8:07Speaker 1: feel the same way. And again, obviously it's not what
- 8:09Speaker 1: you get, it's what you give. But still I just
- 8:11Speaker 1: feel like when people leave. And also I think it's
- 8:13Speaker 1: a really awesome way for sponsors to help your nonprofit.
- 8:17Speaker 1: When you include a sponsor and a gift bag, even
- 8:20Speaker 1: whether it's a discounted offer or code you can put in,
- 8:25Speaker 1: or there's an or there's an item um with your
- 8:28Speaker 1: branded logo, it's a very good way to generate funds
- 8:32Speaker 1: for the foundation. So I look at it that way
- 8:34Speaker 1: as well. So we have a big gift bag with
- 8:37Speaker 1: twenty gift bag sponsors. Those are twenty more ways you
- 8:40Speaker 1: can generate funds for the foundation. Absolutely, and that's why
- 8:43Speaker 1: you know, I felt that coming on the show. Again,
- 8:46Speaker 1: thank you for coming on my show, and thank you
- 8:48Speaker 1: for supporting me. One of my early guests. When I
- 8:51Speaker 1: started money making conversation, Holly's came in and helped me
- 8:54Speaker 1: lay the groundwork for this brand and now there's going
- 8:57Speaker 1: to be syndicated throughout the country aragulations. By the way,
- 9:01Speaker 1: thank you and I And it's really only because of
- 9:03Speaker 1: relationships and support and me making that donation. It helps
- 9:07Speaker 1: me realize that that's how my heart work pays off
- 9:10Speaker 1: because a lot of times, you know, I buy a suit,
- 9:12Speaker 1: by a car, by some good food, But how does
- 9:15Speaker 1: that impact the person next door or the person walking
- 9:18Speaker 1: down the street. And that's what my donation I feel.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I feel it's helping because of the fact that I
- 9:24Speaker 1: know that your your dear friend. I consider you like
- 9:27Speaker 1: a family member and with that, if something affects you,
- 9:30Speaker 1: that it affects me. And that's what these donations are
- 9:33Speaker 1: all about. Everybody, thank you, Rashwan, thank you so much.
- 9:36Speaker 1: I really appreciate And by the way, you know, and
- 9:39Speaker 1: a lot of people get sticker shock they look at
- 9:41Speaker 1: it's five dollars. You know, that's a lot of money
- 9:43Speaker 1: for people. But but if, but if anyone wants to
- 9:46Speaker 1: make a donation to Holly Rod, please feel free to
- 9:50Speaker 1: go to Hollyrood dot org and you can make any
- 9:52Speaker 1: amount of donation. You don't have to just obviously you
- 9:55Speaker 1: know that the event is what it is, and we
- 9:58Speaker 1: have to cover it and pay for our costs, and
- 10:00Speaker 1: there's the funds. But donating to Hollywood is something that
- 10:04Speaker 1: will be so helpful to people. So whether it's twenty
- 10:07Speaker 1: five and also Roshan and then tell you this, but
- 10:11Speaker 1: I wanted to announce that we're going to kick off
- 10:13Speaker 1: at the end of the week a little sweet stakes
- 10:15Speaker 1: that you can actually make a donation and win an
- 10:18Speaker 1: opportunity to walk the carpet in on July uh in
- 10:26Speaker 1: in Malibu, California, where we're having the event. We've done
- 10:29Speaker 1: this a couple of times before week. We've invited some
- 10:32Speaker 1: of our smaller donors just you know, get it out
- 10:34Speaker 1: and get in the mix and get an opportunity to
- 10:36Speaker 1: come hang out with us. So we're gonna be posting
- 10:38Speaker 1: more about that on Hollywood and you have like a
- 10:41Speaker 1: contest aste obviously, you donate whatever you want, it doesn't
- 10:49Speaker 1: matter what stuff. Everybody know how engaged I am because
- 10:52Speaker 1: we're about to go to the break now. We do
- 10:55Speaker 1: have the foundation that we're talking about, but there are
- 10:57Speaker 1: so you don't nate button, a donate button and you
- 11:00Speaker 1: can donate fifty hundred thousand or you can put in
- 11:06Speaker 1: other So know that what she's saying is the truth,
- 11:09Speaker 1: is that give what you can and we'll be happy.
- 11:12Speaker 1: We'll be right back with bar Holly Robinson, Pete and
- 11:14Speaker 1: the Holly Rod Foundation. Hi, just Ra Sean Mcgonaland you're
- 11:19Speaker 1: listening to money making a conversation. Uh, we'll be called
- 11:22Speaker 1: syndicated money making conversation. That's coming up. That's gonna add
- 11:26Speaker 1: that to the front of the title. On the phone
- 11:28Speaker 1: is one of my favorite People were talking about the charity,
- 11:30Speaker 1: Holly rod Foundation, the charity charitable, the charity gala, the
- 11:34Speaker 1: fundraiser that they do annually. This year's July twenty seven
- 11:38Speaker 1: in Malibu. Do you say Malibu, California? Right? Yes, yes, Uh,
- 11:42Speaker 1: this will be about the fourth of this time. We've
- 11:43Speaker 1: had Design Care in Malibu over the last twenty years
- 11:47Speaker 1: or so. About this Design Care, it seems like what
- 11:50Speaker 1: exactly is that design car right branded the event and
- 11:57Speaker 1: and and and it's funny, um, we we always have
- 12:02Speaker 1: a fashion show and and obviously it's for Compassionate Care
- 12:06Speaker 1: our foundation Autism and Parkinson's UM, and so we decided
- 12:10Speaker 1: to just brand the event. You know, that's what a
- 12:12Speaker 1: lot of people do. And you know, I have people
- 12:14Speaker 1: ask and maybe some of your listeners UM might find
- 12:17Speaker 1: this helpful that when you're starting a nonprofit and when
- 12:19Speaker 1: you do your first gala, it's very very important to
- 12:23Speaker 1: UM brand it because it kind of takes on a
- 12:27Speaker 1: life of its own. It's like any product, any business,
- 12:30Speaker 1: any radio show. You know, money making Conversations is the
- 12:33Speaker 1: name of your show, and and that that that sparks
- 12:36Speaker 1: up a certain UM image in your brain. So when
- 12:40Speaker 1: when we have Design Care, what we know is that
- 12:43Speaker 1: people like, oh, Design Care is coming. Now. We could
- 12:45Speaker 1: call it the Holly Rock Gala. But what we think
- 12:48Speaker 1: is that every year Design Care takes on a life
- 12:51Speaker 1: of its own. It becomes its own animal, if you will.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And when people come, that people that have been coming
- 12:57Speaker 1: for years. I just posted a picture on Instagram the
- 13:00Speaker 1: day of about eight women that came to the very
- 13:03Speaker 1: first Design Care. And I remember when we were naming
- 13:07Speaker 1: it and people were like, let's call it the Let's
- 13:09Speaker 1: just I was like, you know what, And it was
- 13:10Speaker 1: another philanthropist that told me, you know, no, no, start branding,
- 13:13Speaker 1: treat it like a project, treated like a a product. Um.
- 13:18Speaker 1: And so Design Care is the name of the event,
- 13:20Speaker 1: and we have a fashion show in that concert. And
- 13:23Speaker 1: as as as I told you before, Um, I can't
- 13:25Speaker 1: say it enough. Cameos performing. And I've been bumping Cameo
- 13:30Speaker 1: for the last two months, ever since we booked them.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Cameo word up, you know, listen word up, and they
- 13:38Speaker 1: have you know, cameo songs. I mean, they're really super
- 13:43Speaker 1: relevant right now because Beyonce used that that snippet of candy.
- 13:47Speaker 1: But their songs are and just like a lot of
- 13:49Speaker 1: these artists, you know, I love that they're getting to
- 13:51Speaker 1: just do That's what I love about Beyonce to do
- 13:53Speaker 1: them before I let go, um letting this generation really
- 13:57Speaker 1: know about these songs and how amazing they are. So
- 13:59Speaker 1: it couldn't wait to get Cameo to Design Care. And
- 14:02Speaker 1: they're gonna be there. We even found out from Larry
- 14:04Speaker 1: Black when he's bringing his horn sections. So you know,
- 14:06Speaker 1: I'm excited. Now Now I'm on I'm on the page here,
- 14:09Speaker 1: you know, Holly Rod dot Org. Cameos not there yet.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Gotta put them on the page, and I gotta update
- 14:14Speaker 1: the power yes, sir, yes, sir. You know how I
- 14:17Speaker 1: am a marketing now, so I see you and your
- 14:19Speaker 1: husband looking really dapper to the right. Design Care is
- 14:23Speaker 1: one of the most exclusive and intimate gala fundraising events
- 14:26Speaker 1: in Los Angeles, drawing support from well known names and fashion, entertainment, sports, technology, media,
- 14:32Speaker 1: and corporate philanthropy. Holly rod Foundation will celebrate Design Cares
- 14:37Speaker 1: twenty first anniversary on July twenty seven and eighteen. I'm
- 14:41Speaker 1: assuming that you and Rodney will be hosting the event. Yes,
- 14:45Speaker 1: we will be hosting. We always host. We we get
- 14:48Speaker 1: up and do our little our little stuff, our a
- 14:50Speaker 1: little stick on stage where we are we easily at
- 14:54Speaker 1: the fussing. The real the real show is behind the
- 14:56Speaker 1: scenes because backstage we're always fussing each other. Because here's
- 15:00Speaker 1: the thing with Ronny. Rodney is a quarterback. He likes,
- 15:02Speaker 1: he likes plays. He pays you gotta you gotta call
- 15:07Speaker 1: an audible every down there like set design plays. I
- 15:10Speaker 1: can you know, I can you know, I can call
- 15:12Speaker 1: it audible. I can change it up if I want to. Um. So,
- 15:16Speaker 1: he's I'm more of a goal with the flow. So
- 15:17Speaker 1: we we that that dynamic turns out to be very
- 15:20Speaker 1: funny and attaining on stage. Um, but yeah, so I'm
- 15:23Speaker 1: gonna be hosting it, but we're gonna have a lot
- 15:25Speaker 1: of amazing people there and and uh, we just we
- 15:28Speaker 1: every year we just feel so you know, it's a
- 15:31Speaker 1: very hard event to put together. It's a lot of
- 15:33Speaker 1: work and I'm very hands on, but every year we
- 15:36Speaker 1: we end up doing a great job. This year, our
- 15:38Speaker 1: goal is to get over a million dollars. We have
- 15:39Speaker 1: never gotten there before, so we always we're always trying
- 15:43Speaker 1: to take ourselves to the next level. Well, you know,
- 15:45Speaker 1: the thing about is that I know exactly where he's
- 15:47Speaker 1: coming from. He's he's been running plays all his life,
- 15:51Speaker 1: high school, college, prose. You're going to huddle, you know,
- 15:55Speaker 1: audible is also another play. Okay, here you are missing
- 16:00Speaker 1: what I call them my page, call that audible. What
- 16:04Speaker 1: would you do if the guy was coming off hot?
- 16:06Speaker 1: Because what was happening coming off it's not written down.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Your plays are improvisation. That's when Rodney go, no, you're
- 16:15Speaker 1: not putting me out like that. This is what you
- 16:17Speaker 1: do for a living. See. That's when he realizes who
- 16:19Speaker 1: he's married to. He's married to an entertainment veteran who
- 16:23Speaker 1: can think on her feet. He is a professional athlete
- 16:26Speaker 1: who's been told to execute a play and if that
- 16:29Speaker 1: play doesn't work, ad lib which means run a dump
- 16:32Speaker 1: off right exactly. So we are quite the keen design here.
- 16:40Speaker 1: I've had people say that they really look forward to
- 16:42Speaker 1: what we're gonna be doing and what's gonna happen. And
- 16:44Speaker 1: it's the last ye that we have when the kids
- 16:46Speaker 1: walk on our fashion show, my my four kids, they
- 16:49Speaker 1: always walk and uh that that's they walk at the
- 16:52Speaker 1: beginning of the show actually, and that's always a hilarious
- 16:56Speaker 1: moment because we have to find us everybody has to
- 16:58Speaker 1: walk to their own song, and you know, the song
- 17:00Speaker 1: can't be explicit, and that's a whole another thing. So
- 17:04Speaker 1: we have a fun with that. Um and you know,
- 17:07Speaker 1: basically we just really have a good time and um
- 17:10Speaker 1: and and just really you know, we the idea is
- 17:13Speaker 1: to raise funds and one of our biggest, really most
- 17:16Speaker 1: exciting project right now is finally completed r J's Place.
- 17:20Speaker 1: So our J's Places, Yeah, down and down in Los Angeles,
- 17:23Speaker 1: and it is a compassionate care and job training center.
- 17:27Speaker 1: There's a lot of these kids with autism and we
- 17:29Speaker 1: we spoke about this last time. You know, these kids
- 17:31Speaker 1: with autism need jobs and they can work. And that's
- 17:35Speaker 1: one of the things that people don't know about people
- 17:38Speaker 1: with autism is that they can work and they can
- 17:40Speaker 1: be your best employee. R J is uh the game
- 17:45Speaker 1: changeing him working for the Los Angeles Godgers. It has
- 17:47Speaker 1: changed his whole trajectory about how he thinks. You know,
- 17:51Speaker 1: he's watching his money, he's looking at his money online.
- 17:54Speaker 1: He's doing I mean, oh, you don't play with his
- 17:57Speaker 1: paycheck either. I have this. He gets a little check
- 18:01Speaker 1: and he wants he wants to go. I finally got
- 18:03Speaker 1: him that app when you could you couldn't scan the
- 18:05Speaker 1: check and actually put it in your thing because he
- 18:07Speaker 1: wants he needs to go to the bank and hand
- 18:09Speaker 1: it to somebody right right, right right. We want to
- 18:12Speaker 1: make sure. Yeah, old school and this has been a
- 18:16Speaker 1: game changer for him. Remember Rashawn, he was a kid
- 18:18Speaker 1: that they said would never do anything. So now he's
- 18:22Speaker 1: you know, working and he save me his money. He
- 18:25Speaker 1: gets bonuses when he you know, they went to the
- 18:27Speaker 1: world feeling the god you did two years they give
- 18:29Speaker 1: a clubhouse gives and bonuses and they're like low six
- 18:32Speaker 1: sigear bonuses. So he's doing all right. But you know
- 18:37Speaker 1: he had vocational training. You act like, you know, he
- 18:42Speaker 1: needs to be watching his bank account if he getting
- 18:45Speaker 1: them kind of checks, he needs to be watching. I'm
- 18:47Speaker 1: gonna tell you something about your son. I don't scare
- 18:49Speaker 1: my checks. Okay, I take my check into the bank.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I actually have to have somebody touch my check, so
- 18:57Speaker 1: give me back my receipt. And they have say something like,
- 19:00Speaker 1: you know, cash available now or cash available in two days,
- 19:05Speaker 1: depending on how larger check is. They're tell you they
- 19:07Speaker 1: might limit you. You know, I gotta get my money.
- 19:10Speaker 1: So please understand your ball. R J and me on
- 19:14Speaker 1: the same page. So do not understood. So do not
- 19:17Speaker 1: dismiss his attitude about touching and feeling people who are
- 19:21Speaker 1: handling his money. Okay, hilarious. Well he's doing it the
- 19:27Speaker 1: right way because I yet to understand that whole principle
- 19:30Speaker 1: of scanning the check and then it's supposed all you know,
- 19:35Speaker 1: used to be able to just depositive check and then
- 19:37Speaker 1: it's supposed to get it. See it. That bothers me.
- 19:40Speaker 1: That that really bothers me. I I know it works.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I know we're going into that ero someplaces don't accept
- 19:45Speaker 1: cash anymore. If you're going there, you gotta have credit.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I know we hit it there, but I still I'm
- 19:50Speaker 1: an old school guy that needs to be able to
- 19:53Speaker 1: understand my checks and balances. I control. See. That's the
- 19:57Speaker 1: problem that I have, Hollywood, and that's why I developed
- 19:59Speaker 1: the show so people can understand that. You know, you
- 20:01Speaker 1: don't have to do it the way that everybody said
- 20:03Speaker 1: you're supposed to do it. You do it the way
- 20:04Speaker 1: you're comfortable. So r J is comfortable and where he's
- 20:08Speaker 1: handling his money, so don't rush him. And he may
- 20:11Speaker 1: not ever change. I don't think I'm ever going to change.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I think I'm always go to the bank and look
- 20:16Speaker 1: at the teller because I like to tell why I
- 20:18Speaker 1: go in the back I like them, or say hi
- 20:19Speaker 1: Mr McDonald. That makes me feel important. You know, I'm
- 20:22Speaker 1: not slip. I'm not famous like you, Holly, so when
- 20:24Speaker 1: I walk in and walk in the bank, I'm famous. Though.
- 20:28Speaker 1: I love him the fact that you're saying this, because
- 20:34Speaker 1: this has been an issue, right and I have been
- 20:36Speaker 1: trying to get him to be a little bit more,
- 20:39Speaker 1: and he does not want. He wants to be there,
- 20:42Speaker 1: you know, and wants to tangibly see someone somebody, so
- 20:45Speaker 1: then then that person tells him something, and that's that's
- 20:48Speaker 1: that's part of his autism. But it's just part of
- 20:50Speaker 1: the way he communicated, the way he connects. That's nothing
- 20:53Speaker 1: wrong with it, nothing wrong. You know. I'm surprised he
- 20:56Speaker 1: hasn't asked him to take him in the back and
- 20:58Speaker 1: walk him in the safe until he can actually look
- 21:00Speaker 1: at the money. Because people with autism a lot of
- 21:02Speaker 1: times they don't always feel an abstract things, you know,
- 21:05Speaker 1: they need to see tangible stuff, and so tangible stuff.
- 21:13Speaker 1: You need to stop talking. Roshan needs to tangent. I'll
- 21:16Speaker 1: tell you something. If they would let me in the
- 21:18Speaker 1: back of touch your money, I touch it. I'm tell you, sir.
- 21:21Speaker 1: But I know they ain't gonna but understand this about
- 21:24Speaker 1: me because I'm about to wrap up here. Your soul
- 21:27Speaker 1: is beautiful, your family's beautiful, This cause is beautiful. That's
- 21:30Speaker 1: why I wanted to publicly make my donation on the
- 21:33Speaker 1: air and everybody. This is not something that I passively engaging.
- 21:39Speaker 1: It's something that is one of many things that I'm
- 21:41Speaker 1: Fortunately my wife and I want to make sure she's
- 21:43Speaker 1: a part of this because she makes these same decisions
- 21:45Speaker 1: not make And I'm probably gonna bring it out there
- 21:47Speaker 1: on July twenty seven to see to the event because
- 21:51Speaker 1: you know, she started to participate a lot more because
- 21:53Speaker 1: my daughter is now in college and she's not doing
- 21:56Speaker 1: professionally and tennis anymore. But you just tell everybody in
- 21:59Speaker 1: the in the last quar or five seconds how they
- 22:01Speaker 1: can make a donation where they should go. Yes, you
- 22:04Speaker 1: can go to Holly Rod dot org h L l
- 22:06Speaker 1: O y r o d dot org. You can for
- 22:10Speaker 1: sure buy tickets to Design Care, but if you want
- 22:12Speaker 1: to make a donation, you can make a donation any
- 22:15Speaker 1: any amount is fine. Um. And as I told you earlier,
- 22:19Speaker 1: Rashaan was going to be talking more later this week
- 22:22Speaker 1: announcing more of the opportunity for people to be able
- 22:24Speaker 1: to win an opportunity to walk on the red carpet
- 22:27Speaker 1: with us on July. We cannot wait and we hope
- 22:30Speaker 1: to see you there. If not, thank you so much
- 22:32Speaker 1: for supporting us and Rashawn, Thank you for always supporting
- 22:36Speaker 1: and being such an amazing friend and and somebody that
- 22:41Speaker 1: you could always count on.
