- 0:11Speaker 1: as it's not here, you can go anywhere you want.

- 0:17Speaker 1: right now, we want you out of America. But if
- 0:19Speaker 1: you're really good, we're going to try and help you
- 0:21Speaker 1: get back in.
- 0:22Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Good Monday morning.
- 0:26Speaker 4: Welcome, it is the forty seven Morning Update, and we've
- 0:29Speaker 4: got three big stories for you this morning. First up,
- 0:32Speaker 4: the media lied to you when they said there was
- 0:35Speaker 4: no chance we'd get a deal with China anytime soon.
- 0:39Speaker 4: Some were even saying it wouldn't be done anytime this year.
- 0:43Speaker 4: We now have a major announcement from the White House
- 0:46Speaker 4: on a trade negotiation deal with China, and I'll give
- 0:49Speaker 4: you the details in just a moment up next. And
- 0:52Speaker 4: a deal that the Present described is the most important
- 0:55Speaker 4: and impactful truth ever issued. At nine am this morning,
- 1:00Speaker 4: there is an executive order that will change the price
- 1:03Speaker 4: the prescription drugs for countless Americans and will have a
- 1:07Speaker 4: huge impact, especially for seniors. This monumental deal in a moment,
- 1:13Speaker 4: and lastly, in a shocking report, we're finding out just
- 1:16Speaker 4: how bad things are at the FAA, including the fact
- 1:20Speaker 4: that the equipment is so antiquated that they're having to
- 1:24Speaker 4: buy replacement parts on eBay. Donald Trump pledging he's going
- 1:28Speaker 4: to fix and overhaul the entire system. Now, before I
- 1:33Speaker 4: get into these stories, I'd like to change gears for
- 1:35Speaker 4: a minute and talk to you about Israel. It's now
- 1:38Speaker 4: the month of May, and eighty years ago this very month,
- 1:42Speaker 4: the horror of the Holocausts, the final solution came to
- 1:46Speaker 4: an end. But do you know that half of all
- 1:50Speaker 4: Holocaust survivors live in Israel. The pain of the past
- 1:54Speaker 4: now intensifies today by October seventh and the rise of
- 1:58Speaker 4: anti Semitism everywhere, and along with other elderly Jews, thousands
- 2:05Speaker 4: in Israel live below the poverty line.
- 2:07Speaker 3: There's no safety net.
- 2:09Speaker 4: That's why I support the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews,
- 2:14Speaker 4: and the Fellowship provides a lifeline to these precious ones
- 2:19Speaker 4: in the form of basic things like hot meals and
- 2:23Speaker 4: boxes full of healthy food. And for only twenty five
- 2:28Speaker 4: dollars you can out provide a nutritious food box to
- 2:32Speaker 4: a Jewish person in need in Israel. Better yet, three
- 2:37Speaker 4: hundred and fifty dollars provides hot meals for an entire year.
- 2:42Speaker 4: So if you are ready to stand with the people
- 2:44Speaker 4: in Israel, give generously by calling eight eight eight four
- 2:49Speaker 4: eight eight IFCJ that's eight eight four eight eight four
- 2:56Speaker 4: three two five, or go online to give it if
- 3:01Speaker 4: CJ dot org. That's if CJ dot org. It's the
- 3:06Speaker 4: forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Story number one, Doom and gloom.
- 3:12Speaker 4: That's what the media wanted you to believe that idea
- 3:14Speaker 4: would not be done even this year with China. Well,
- 3:17Speaker 4: guess what the White House and now and say, significant
- 3:21Speaker 4: breakthrough in trade negotiations with China, marking a positive step
- 3:26Speaker 4: forward resolving the ongoing trade tensions between the two nations.
- 3:32Speaker 3: When did this happen?
- 3:33Speaker 4: After two days of constructive talks in Geneva, the US
- 3:37Speaker 4: Treasury Secretary Scott Descent and the Trade Representative Jamison Greer
- 3:42Speaker 4: reported substantial progress and discussions with Chinese Vice Premiere. Specific
- 3:48Speaker 4: details of the agreement are set to be released this morning,
- 3:52Speaker 4: and both sides of express optimism about the outcome. I
- 3:56Speaker 4: want you to hear what the Treasury Secretary had to
- 3:59Speaker 4: say after the meeting on Sunday, and I think that
- 4:03Speaker 4: led to.
- 4:04Speaker 5: A great deal of the productivity we've seen. We will
- 4:08Speaker 5: be giving details tomorrow, but I can tell you that
- 4:13Speaker 5: the talks were productive. We had the Vice Premiere, to
- 4:19Speaker 5: vice ministers who were integrally involved, Ambassador Jamison, and myself,
- 4:25Speaker 5: and I spoke to President Trump, as did Ambassador Jamison
- 4:30Speaker 5: last night, and he is fully informed of what is
- 4:34Speaker 5: going on. So there will be a complete briefing tomorrow.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Morning, complete briefing from the White House. And yet again
- 4:42Speaker 4: the media lied to you just days ago saying this
- 4:46Speaker 4: was going to take at least a year to get done.
- 4:49Speaker 3: If it was going to get done.
- 4:52Speaker 4: The US Trade representative in Geneva also talking about how
- 4:56Speaker 4: important this was and how close they were to understanding
- 5:00Speaker 4: share there in the trade negotiations.
- 5:03Speaker 6: I want to echo the Secretary's remarks respect to the
- 5:05Speaker 6: Swiss government. They've been so welcoming and they've posted this
- 5:08Speaker 6: and everything has gone off lawlessly and we appreciate that.
- 5:12Speaker 6: And again to the Chinese negotiators, Vice Premier Leoho, Vice
- 5:16Speaker 6: Minister Lee Changong, and Vice Minister le Al men work
- 5:20Speaker 6: very diligently, and these are very tough negotiators. A couple
- 5:23Speaker 6: of them I know from before and have had past
- 5:26Speaker 6: interactions with them. And this was, as the Secretary pointed out,
- 5:29Speaker 6: a very constructed two days. It's important to understand how
- 5:33Speaker 6: quickly we were able to come to agreement, which reflects
- 5:37Speaker 6: that perhaps the differences were not so large as maybe thought.
- 5:41Speaker 6: That being said, there was a lot of groundwork that
- 5:43Speaker 6: went into these two days. Just remember why we're here
- 5:47Speaker 6: in the first place, in the United States as a
- 5:49Speaker 6: mass at one point two trillion dollars trade deficit. So
- 5:52Speaker 6: the President declared a national emergency and imposed tariffs, and
- 5:55Speaker 6: we're confident that the deal we struck with our Chinese
- 5:58Speaker 6: partners will help us who resolve work towards resolving that
- 6:02Speaker 6: national emergency.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Donald Trump made it clear from the very beginning there
- 6:06Speaker 4: is a trade emergency in the US having that massive
- 6:09Speaker 4: one point two trillion dollar trade deficit, and that is
- 6:14Speaker 4: exactly why the President declared it. We're confident that the
- 6:17Speaker 4: deal we struck with our Chinese partners will help us
- 6:20Speaker 4: work towards resolving that national emergency. Now, President Trump characterized
- 6:26Speaker 4: the negotiations of the move towards a total reset of
- 6:30Speaker 4: US China trade relations, emphasizing the importance of opening China's
- 6:35Speaker 4: markets to American businesses. Chinese officials also echoing this sentiment,
- 6:40Speaker 4: describing the talks as candid and constructive and highlighting the
- 6:45Speaker 4: establishment of a new consultation mechanism for ongoing economic dialogue
- 6:51Speaker 4: quote unquote. Now, the announcement has already had a positive
- 6:55Speaker 4: impact on the financial markets as well, stock futures rising
- 6:59Speaker 4: in the US dollar strengthening against other currencies. This development
- 7:03Speaker 4: is seen as a hopeful sign for American farmers, retailers,
- 7:08Speaker 4: and consumers who have been affected by the tariff escalations.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Further details of the agreement are expected to be disclosed
- 7:16Speaker 4: in a joint statement today, which will provide more insight
- 7:21Speaker 4: into the specific measures agreed upon to ease trade tensions
- 7:25Speaker 4: and foster economic cooperation between the US and China. If
- 7:29Speaker 4: there's one thing that's very clear now, Donald Trump really
- 7:33Speaker 4: is the best negotiator in the world.
- 7:36Speaker 3: And this will make.
- 7:37Speaker 4: The media and liberals lose their mind because they don't
- 7:40Speaker 4: really care about Americans. They care about Donald Trump being
- 7:44Speaker 4: a failure at all costs. And yet again he proved
- 7:47Speaker 4: them wrong. Next story number two. It's already an incredible
- 7:51Speaker 4: day when it comes to what the President is doing,
- 7:53Speaker 4: but it's not just trade. That he's going to have
- 7:55Speaker 4: a major impact on an issue that affects so many Americans.
- 7:59Speaker 3: We are now learning directly from the White House.
- 8:02Speaker 4: The President Trump, in his words, said this is the
- 8:04Speaker 4: most important and impactful truth ever issued, saying, I'm pleased
- 8:09Speaker 4: to announce Monday morning in the White House at nine
- 8:12Speaker 4: am that I'll be signing one of the most consequential
- 8:16Speaker 4: executive orders in our country's history. So what is it, well,
- 8:20Speaker 4: President Trump revealing that he's going to be signing this
- 8:23Speaker 4: morning that executive order to reduce the cost to prescriptions
- 8:28Speaker 4: in pharmaceutical drugs by thirty to eighty percent almost instantly.
- 8:35Speaker 4: In a post on True Social Trump pointed out that quote,
- 8:38Speaker 4: for many years, the world has wondered why prescriptions and
- 8:42Speaker 4: pharmaceutical drugs are so much more expensive in the United
- 8:46Speaker 4: States of America than they are in any other nation,
- 8:50Speaker 4: adding that sometimes they are five to ten times more
- 8:54Speaker 4: expensive than the same drug manufactured in the exact same
- 8:59Speaker 4: laboratory your plant, by the same company. Trump also criticized
- 9:05Speaker 4: the pharmaceutical and drug companies and the Democratic Party in
- 9:08Speaker 4: his post, saying this, the pharmaceuticals, last drug companies would
- 9:13Speaker 4: say for years that it was research and development costs,
- 9:17Speaker 4: and that all of these costs were and would be
- 9:19Speaker 4: for no reason whatsoever, bore by the suckers of America alone.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Trump said, campaign contributions can do wonders, but not with
- 9:30Speaker 4: me and not with the Republican Party. President Trump went
- 9:34Speaker 4: on to say, quote, we are going to do the
- 9:36Speaker 4: right thing, something that the Democrats have fought for many years, saying,
- 9:42Speaker 4: I'm pleased to announce that tomorrow morning, Monday morning, in
- 9:45Speaker 4: the White House at nine am, I'll be signing one
- 9:48Speaker 4: of the most consequential executive orders in our country's history.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Trump said that prescription drug and pharmaceutical prices will be
- 9:57Speaker 4: in all caps, reduced almost immediately by thirty to eighty percent.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Now, how is this going to work?
- 10:04Speaker 1: Well?
- 10:04Speaker 4: Trump added to the cost of prescription and pharmaceutical drugs
- 10:08Speaker 4: would rise throughout the world. In order to equalize and
- 10:12Speaker 4: for the first time in many years, bring fairness to America,
- 10:16Speaker 4: I will be instituting a quote Most Favored Nations policy,
- 10:21Speaker 4: whereby the United States will pay the same price as
- 10:25Speaker 4: the nation that pays the lowest price.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Anywhere in the world.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Trump continued, our country will finally be treated fairly, and
- 10:33Speaker 4: our citizens healthcare costs will be reduced by numbers never
- 10:37Speaker 4: even thought of before. A fact sheet from the White
- 10:41Speaker 4: House also revealed in April that Trump had signed an
- 10:45Speaker 4: executive order directing the Department of Health and Human Services
- 10:49Speaker 4: HHS to take steps to significantly reduce drug prices for
- 10:53Speaker 4: American patients.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Now.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Trump's executive order this morning also provides a massive discounts
- 11:00Speaker 4: to low income patients for life saving medications such as insulin.
- 11:05Speaker 4: End quote helped States reduce drug prices through the facilitation
- 11:09Speaker 4: of important programs that could save States millions of prescription
- 11:14Speaker 4: drug costs. Yes, the President said, no longer will you
- 11:18Speaker 4: be paying because of lobbyists and the Democratic Party and
- 11:22Speaker 4: what they've done to allow the jacking up of prices
- 11:25Speaker 4: far higher than anywhere else in the world.
- 11:28Speaker 3: And here is story number three.
- 11:30Speaker 4: In a shocking revelation, we now have found out that
- 11:33Speaker 4: the FAA, the Federal Aviation Administration, is relying on such
- 11:38Speaker 4: outdated technology that the Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has disclosed
- 11:43Speaker 4: that the agency is forced to purchase replacement parts on
- 11:48Speaker 4: platforms like eBay due to how obsolete their current systems are.
- 11:54Speaker 4: The administration is now promising that there will be a
- 11:57Speaker 4: massive overhaul the system, but it could take years to accomplish.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Sean Duffy doing a sit down interview with CBS this
- 12:08Speaker 4: morning explaining just how bad the system is and why
- 12:11Speaker 4: Donald Trump has told him it's time to overhaul it
- 12:15Speaker 4: as fast as we can.
- 12:17Speaker 7: Our main mission is safety, and so if there's any
- 12:19Speaker 7: concern with safety, we slow down traffic and there might
- 12:22Speaker 7: be delayed there might be cancelations, and we take those
- 12:25Speaker 7: precautions to make sure that you get from your departure
- 12:29Speaker 7: city to your arrival city.
- 12:32Speaker 3: But it's gonna take a little bit of time.
- 12:33Speaker 7: Now, the main line that feeds information into Newark that
- 12:37Speaker 7: went down. The secondary line didn't stand up, and so
- 12:40Speaker 7: both lines are now working. We have a little bit
- 12:43Speaker 7: of issues with our air traffic controllers. Some of them
- 12:45Speaker 7: have stepped out of the tower they were stressed. So
- 12:48Speaker 7: we're training new individuals in the Philly traycon which services Newark,
- 12:53Speaker 7: and we're building a whole new fiber driven system down
- 12:57Speaker 7: in Philly that does serve that tray are the Newark Airport.
- 13:01Speaker 7: So there's an weren't a situation where you know it's
- 13:03Speaker 7: going to take us a little bit of time. I
- 13:05Speaker 7: hope by this summer we're going to be fully functioning.
- 13:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:08Speaker 8: I was going to say, mister w what does that
- 13:09Speaker 8: mean when you say a little bit of time? You
- 13:11Speaker 8: say by the summer, Because I'm thinking the problem with
- 13:13Speaker 8: Newark is when you hear the screens went down and
- 13:16Speaker 8: no one seemed to be able to explain that. You
- 13:18Speaker 8: don't think we have to worry about that happening again.
- 13:20Speaker 8: You think they've corrected that problem.
- 13:22Speaker 7: Well, in Newark, both lines are working and so you
- 13:25Speaker 7: know listen, yes, and if both lines do go down,
- 13:28Speaker 7: there are emergency procedures, backup procedures that we take to
- 13:31Speaker 7: talk to airplanes to make sure they stay separated.
- 13:33Speaker 3: But Gail, I'm concerned.
- 13:35Speaker 7: I mean, this system that we use many much of
- 13:38Speaker 7: the equipment you have to buy an ebait.
- 13:40Speaker 3: No one makes it anymore.
- 13:41Speaker 7: That's how old the system is that we fly on today,
- 13:44Speaker 7: which is why yesterday I called for a brand new
- 13:47Speaker 7: infrastructure plan to rebuild everything across the spectrum for air
- 13:51Speaker 7: traffic control. It is well overdue in America. And I
- 13:54Speaker 7: think what you've seen in Newark is you're having failings.
- 13:57Speaker 7: And when you have the failings, you take a look
- 13:59Speaker 7: at the whole system and could other parts you know,
- 14:02Speaker 7: have issues.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Of course it.
- 14:03Speaker 7: Could have issues, but that's why it's a call to
- 14:05Speaker 7: action to do this for America so you always feel
- 14:07Speaker 7: safe in your flying gale.
- 14:09Speaker 4: Thank goodness to Trump administration is willing to take on
- 14:11Speaker 4: a problem that every other administration just wanted to kick
- 14:15Speaker 4: the can down the road, and we'll finally be able
- 14:18Speaker 4: to know that we have a system that's reliable and
- 14:20Speaker 4: safe and parts are no longer being bought on eBay.
