- 3:42Speaker 1: staring the one and only Steve Harvey. Please work with
- 3:45Speaker 1: the money making conversations. Reginald Hudler, Come on, Reginald, that's
- 3:52Speaker 1: a lot, man, that's a lot. That's a lot. You
- 3:55Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I'm trying to be busy man.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You know me trust saying well, you know and you
- 4:01Speaker 1: do it so well. And I want to just start
- 4:03Speaker 1: out about relationship because I when I look at your
- 4:07Speaker 1: career and I know my relationship with you over the years,
- 4:10Speaker 1: because you've always contacted me or I contacted you, and
- 4:13Speaker 1: we've always blended our ideals and and just to stay
- 4:16Speaker 1: out there in front of the next moment. How how
- 4:19Speaker 1: importance relationships in your success story? It's crucial. Uh, you
- 4:26Speaker 1: know you can't do it alone. Uh, now, you got
- 4:30Speaker 1: to get your act together. You got to do your
- 4:32Speaker 1: part and then some. But then the next step is
- 4:35Speaker 1: to find like minded people, people who share your value system,
- 4:40Speaker 1: people who share your work ethic um, people who share
- 4:44Speaker 1: your goals. And that's what I've always felt about you,
- 4:48Speaker 1: which is why I've always said to you, if I'm working,
- 4:51Speaker 1: you're working. You know, I've always opportunities to help you,
- 4:57Speaker 1: because I know, without asking, you will always look for
- 5:01Speaker 1: an opportunity to help me. I asked that because we
- 5:05Speaker 1: had to go back BT. You know, people say, uh,
- 5:09Speaker 1: sitting in the room trying to figure out how we're
- 5:12Speaker 1: gonna work together, you meet Steve Harvey and that's how
- 5:15Speaker 1: we did Celebration of Gospel the last thirteen years. That
- 5:19Speaker 1: was a vision that you saw and you know we
- 5:21Speaker 1: wasn't sure because we was coming off of that you know,
- 5:25Speaker 1: CUsing comedian you know, uh, kids of comedy, you know,
- 5:29Speaker 1: death comedy jam. But that didn't bother you. You saw
- 5:32Speaker 1: beyond that and really lay the lay the groundwork for
- 5:37Speaker 1: Steve Harvey. I seeing ourselves in a different life. How
- 5:40Speaker 1: did you But that was that was a decision that
- 5:42Speaker 1: you had to make. And I would say somewhat risky
- 5:44Speaker 1: because people going Steve Harvey at the comedian that comes
- 5:47Speaker 1: a lot. But you saw we're gonna having hosts a
- 5:50Speaker 1: popular gospel show. Well, I just saw Steve as a
- 5:55Speaker 1: giant talent. You know what what the whole world is
- 5:59Speaker 1: thing now I saw from the beginning, and he's a
- 6:03Speaker 1: big difference in terms of there's kind of two types
- 6:08Speaker 1: of people in Hollywood's heat seekers and there's talent seekers.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Right now, if you are a talent seeker, it doesn't
- 6:18Speaker 1: matter if someone has been put on or not. You go,
- 6:22Speaker 1: this person is gifted, and boy, can I be lucky
- 6:27Speaker 1: enough to work with that talented person? Or oh you
- 6:31Speaker 1: know you can say, oh that person he's over, he's
- 6:34Speaker 1: not high anymore. You go, no, no, no, no, that
- 6:36Speaker 1: person is talented. And I believe of a talent, whether
- 6:41Speaker 1: it's been proven to the public or if the public
- 6:44Speaker 1: may think their moments over. If you spot talent, then
- 6:49Speaker 1: you invest. Now if you can't feel spot taste talent,
- 6:55Speaker 1: if you don't, if you don't have that sensibility, you
- 6:58Speaker 1: have to go with heat right right. You know, otherwise
- 7:02Speaker 1: you can't even say, well, that's what's hot right now,
- 7:04Speaker 1: and you change hot. And I understand stand people who
- 7:08Speaker 1: that's all they can do. But I've been blessed to
- 7:12Speaker 1: be able to recognize talent. And when you recognize talent,
- 7:16Speaker 1: you can get there first. Come on now, when I
- 7:18Speaker 1: think that we yeah, that's a nice transition to show
- 7:21Speaker 1: time at apollom Man. I saw you on LinkedIn. You
- 7:24Speaker 1: were smiling, say we're back, We're back. I looked at
- 7:30Speaker 1: this show man and you you put your stamp on it. Man,
- 7:33Speaker 1: you put your stamp, your brand on it. You know,
- 7:36Speaker 1: it's it feels exciting, It feels like the original show.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So what was your vision about the show? You know,
- 7:43Speaker 1: we got Steve Harvey, the biggest talent on in the
- 7:45Speaker 1: universe right now, especially at TV Media, and then you
- 7:49Speaker 1: have a brand that we know about. It has been altered,
- 7:51Speaker 1: a little bit chopped up, some people have changed some stuff.
- 7:54Speaker 1: What made you say this can work? Well? First of all,
- 7:59Speaker 1: it's showtime with you, Apollo. All these talent shows don't
- 8:05Speaker 1: exist without standing on the show to the show. Chime
- 8:08Speaker 1: of the apology, that was the first it was the best.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I mean that's UKN I mean like some of this is,
- 8:16Speaker 1: this is, this is Adam, this, this is the d
- 8:20Speaker 1: n A. And I've talked to people who worked on
- 8:24Speaker 1: those other shows, and believe me, the producers of those
- 8:28Speaker 1: other shows referenced the Apollo all the time. They say, well,
- 8:32Speaker 1: you know, the apologies this way. You know, we need
- 8:34Speaker 1: to do it like this because that's how the Apollo
- 8:36Speaker 1: did it. So don't be fooled. Those other people know
- 8:42Speaker 1: what they're doing. They are copying the Apollo. So we
- 8:47Speaker 1: know it's gonna work because it has always worked. It
- 8:50Speaker 1: has worked before there was TV right right right, So
- 8:57Speaker 1: so now it's like, okay, so we're back. Now we're
- 9:00Speaker 1: on primetime. Now we're on a major network. So now
- 9:04Speaker 1: we've got to we can't be stuck in the past.
- 9:06Speaker 1: We got an upgrade, we got new technology, got new
- 9:10Speaker 1: ways of storytelling. We can go deeper than we ever
- 9:14Speaker 1: did before. So you keep what works, and then you
- 9:17Speaker 1: add to it, add to it, add to it beautiful,
- 9:20Speaker 1: and and and and it shows so much in the
- 9:22Speaker 1: in the clarity. But the thing that I like about you, Reginald,
- 9:25Speaker 1: is that you are a visionary. I remember when you
- 9:28Speaker 1: called me when you were shooting a Jangle unchanged with
- 9:31Speaker 1: Jamie Fox and Samuel Jackson, and you said, Roshan, you
- 9:34Speaker 1: gotta get your butt down here. Man, we're doing something
- 9:37Speaker 1: down here. Man. That's crazy. It's good, I mean you said,
- 9:40Speaker 1: I mean we're talking about this scene. You saw what
- 9:42Speaker 1: everybody was crying after the scene. It was just so
- 9:44Speaker 1: emotionally moved by that. You get involved with projects like
- 9:48Speaker 1: this all the time. This is not accident huddling. How well,
- 9:55Speaker 1: it's crazy. It's what you should say that because like
- 9:58Speaker 1: right right, people are upset. Hardly read the script. That
- 10:03Speaker 1: knows nothing. Oh man, this is flat movie. On the wait, WI,
- 10:06Speaker 1: you're working with Qui Tartino. Oh uh you know you
- 10:10Speaker 1: know he gave black women. I'm like, I think black
- 10:12Speaker 1: women too. What the deal? Interview? Everybody's all worked up,
- 10:21Speaker 1: But I said, look, I did, have you read the script?
- 10:24Speaker 1: That good? Now, I said, I read the script. Here's
- 10:26Speaker 1: what the movie is about. It's about a black man
- 10:30Speaker 1: who do anything to get his wife back. He will
- 10:34Speaker 1: walk into hell and kill anybody between him and his
- 10:39Speaker 1: wife and get his wife's back. Now, I don't know
- 10:43Speaker 1: about you. I ain't got a problem with that my
- 10:45Speaker 1: kind of movie that I won't because you know, I
- 10:49Speaker 1: love my wife. Don't get between me and my wife.
- 10:52Speaker 1: It'll get handled. So I'm like, wait a minute, we
- 10:56Speaker 1: ain't say a movie like this, this is what we need.
- 11:00Speaker 1: So of course when the movie comes out, everybody sees it,
- 11:03Speaker 1: everybody gets quiet, right, you know that that was That
- 11:07Speaker 1: was pretty good. That was pretty good. I'm like, oh, yeah, one,
- 11:14Speaker 1: you just gotta book. You gotta. You can't go by
- 11:17Speaker 1: other people. You can't be a heat seeker. You gotta
- 11:21Speaker 1: be a talent seecret. You gotta. You gotta recognize real
- 11:24Speaker 1: when it comes your way and go, I believe in
- 11:27Speaker 1: this and I'm riding for this. And when you do that,
- 11:30Speaker 1: it works out. There's the great thing about you. Okay,
- 11:33Speaker 1: Black Panther, So you a Black Panther before Black Panther.
- 11:38Speaker 1: You know the comic book. You know, he's always ras Sean.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I gotta get the worried out by my comic book,
- 11:43Speaker 1: the animated series. And I'm going, okay, because I knew
- 11:46Speaker 1: nothing about the movie, you know. So so you was
- 11:48Speaker 1: out there with that brand with a clear and that's
- 11:50Speaker 1: what I cant telling you. He's a visionary people need
- 11:53Speaker 1: to understand this about Reginald Hudler. You need to follow
- 11:55Speaker 1: this guy on social media. You need to track this
- 11:57Speaker 1: guy on LinkedIn, because he's always ahead the curve, always
- 12:01Speaker 1: with a clear understanding, with the power Black Panther. How
- 12:05Speaker 1: has Black Panther changed Hollywood? It's changed everything because right
- 12:12Speaker 1: now it's it's just it's I think the number four
- 12:20Speaker 1: biggest movie in Hollywood history about to be number three.
- 12:24Speaker 1: It's bigger than every other superhero movie. It just passed
- 12:28Speaker 1: Jurassic Park, getting ready to pass Titanic um and it
- 12:34Speaker 1: didn't being the blackest possible movie you can make. What
- 12:38Speaker 1: do I do? What I do? Do I do? Do? What?
- 12:40Speaker 1: Got killed? Everything? Right? A minute? When have you ever
- 12:46Speaker 1: seen black Utopia on a movie before? Yes, sir, Yes, sir.
- 12:51Speaker 1: A world we're like no, no, we run things. We're
- 12:53Speaker 1: more advanced than everybody else. And that's what I wrote
- 12:56Speaker 1: in the comic book years ago. I wrote the company
- 13:00Speaker 1: for four years, and the important thing about the book was,
- 13:04Speaker 1: and I'm getting ready say some historical truths. In Benin
- 13:11Speaker 1: we had metal alloys, right, take two medals and blending
- 13:15Speaker 1: them together. Well, people in Europe was still living in caves.
- 13:20Speaker 1: So you know the factors in that prehistoric point of history,
- 13:24Speaker 1: we were a more advanced culture. So the premise of
- 13:29Speaker 1: Wakanda is, what if we never lost that head stopped
- 13:34Speaker 1: and you know, and we we wouldn't lose it if
- 13:37Speaker 1: we were such a military might that we could not
- 13:42Speaker 1: be conquered. Now again, once everybody showed time at the
- 13:45Speaker 1: Apollo the Arison Fox hosted by Steve Harvey, produced by
- 13:48Speaker 1: the one and only Reginald Hudland. Reginald. I looked up
- 13:51Speaker 1: online and they had a couple of projects. Uh, Rick
- 13:54Speaker 1: Walks project coming up. We're developing, you know, a project
- 14:01Speaker 1: about Frey Rick and you know how the U. S.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Government conspired to spread crack cocaine across the country as
- 14:08Speaker 1: a way to pay for some illegal, other illegal activities
- 14:12Speaker 1: that were up to So we're developing that story. We're
- 14:15Speaker 1: developing a story about the life of Colin Powell, you know,
- 14:19Speaker 1: the the amazing military leader. Uh, we're you know, We've
- 14:23Speaker 1: got so much interesting stuff popping off. I'm doing a
- 14:27Speaker 1: whole new line of comic books, Uh, with even broader
- 14:31Speaker 1: range of black superheroes. People love black panthers. We don't
- 14:34Speaker 1: give them that you're gonna be there and close. And
- 14:39Speaker 1: I just want to just say a couple of things
- 14:41Speaker 1: about about but your brain, which anybody should understand that
- 14:48Speaker 1: he's telling you about relationships. They are key. He's telling
- 14:50Speaker 1: me about Okay, if you if you don't understand a
- 14:54Speaker 1: strong worker is the key to success, then you will fail.
- 14:57Speaker 1: You understand you you you You learn that from your pas, parents,
- 15:00Speaker 1: your family, and now you're teaching it to your child.
- 15:03Speaker 1: That's what this All Businesses is about is passion on information.
- 15:06Speaker 1: You're changing the game with the image awards. Anthony Andrews
- 15:09Speaker 1: is doing an amazing job. So you're putting the stamp
- 15:12Speaker 1: and moving forward to the community and allowing us to
- 15:14Speaker 1: see ourselves in a positive life. Thank you, Reginald, Thank you, ma'am,
- 15:19Speaker 1: thank you, thank you, thank you for this. Then you
- 15:22Speaker 1: to uh be able to tell my story hey when
- 15:25Speaker 1: we were talking. Soon you keep winning, my friend, this
- 15:26Speaker 1: Rashan McDonald, the Great Reginald Hudling, watch your time after Apollo,

- 17:16Speaker 1: old friend the Tori Turner. How you doing, sir? Thank
- 17:21Speaker 1: you for having me, boss, I appreciate it. Thanks happening
- 17:24Speaker 1: for years. Well, you know, you know, I uh, when
- 17:27Speaker 1: I started this show, money Making Conversations, and it's about entrepreneurship,
- 17:32Speaker 1: It's about entertainment, UM. And I'm out there managing Steve's career, management,
- 17:38Speaker 1: own writing and producing career. And uh, and I just,
- 17:41Speaker 1: I guess, keep seeing the evolution of you, um, from
- 17:45Speaker 1: a model, from an actor, and I just wanted to
- 17:48Speaker 1: take the time before we started getting into the projects
- 17:51Speaker 1: to talk about that evolution, because I'm sure that they
- 17:54Speaker 1: took you into some uncharted waters. Talk to us about
- 17:58Speaker 1: the transition, you know. Well, you know, I mean, I
- 18:02Speaker 1: I started my career in the entertainment business. I was
- 18:05Speaker 1: discovered by the four Miland agency when I was nineteen,
- 18:08Speaker 1: and you know, my career quickly took off I moved
- 18:12Speaker 1: to New York, and you know, it was in a
- 18:15Speaker 1: lot of really major campaigns, from Abercrumbie and Fitch to
- 18:19Speaker 1: Tommy Hill. Figure when did he started, Sean John? He
- 18:22Speaker 1: he made me the face of of the of the
- 18:25Speaker 1: line for a few years. And you know, I obviously,
- 18:30Speaker 1: you know, thought about you know, I thought about my
- 18:32Speaker 1: life a lot of My parents always talked about legacy. Um.
- 18:35Speaker 1: You know, both my parents been married for the years,
- 18:38Speaker 1: and um, you know, they always talked about legacy and
- 18:42Speaker 1: and um, you know, being that they always was skeptical
- 18:46Speaker 1: about me getting into the entertainment business. My dad works
- 18:50Speaker 1: for the government and my mother is on the school board.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Nothing about the career. That's career employment right there, brother,
- 18:58Speaker 1: career employment exactly. So I you know, I was doing really,
- 19:03Speaker 1: really well in the fashion business, but I was always
- 19:06Speaker 1: thinking about what my life was gonna look like when
- 19:08Speaker 1: I was thirty and forty, And you know, I always
- 19:11Speaker 1: thought about down the road, and you know, I didn't
- 19:14Speaker 1: want to be the guy who you know, was still
- 19:17Speaker 1: trying to model or go to auditions when I was
- 19:21Speaker 1: thirty and forty years old. So really, um, you know,
- 19:25Speaker 1: even though I was doing really well, it was worked.
- 19:27Speaker 1: You were an interesting point. Yeah, you know, I was
- 19:30Speaker 1: doing okay, but it was an interesting point in my life.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I felt very uh I was. I was depressed and
- 19:36Speaker 1: y'all was you know. I had times when I was
- 19:38Speaker 1: depressed because I was just like, you know, this can't
- 19:42Speaker 1: be it. I know that that, you know, I want
- 19:45Speaker 1: to do more. And that's when I really started thinking
- 19:49Speaker 1: about making that transition into writing and producing. And you know,
- 19:52Speaker 1: I went when you know, I was staying in the
- 19:55Speaker 1: house for days at a time and just watch move
- 19:59Speaker 1: you know, watch the movies. I watched like everything Hitchcock made,
- 20:03Speaker 1: and you know, Stanley Kubrick and Ewa Kazane and you
- 20:07Speaker 1: know John Cassavetti's. I just started really getting into watching films.
- 20:11Speaker 1: And that's when I, um, you know, I started writing.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I decided, you know, I wanted to be a writer producer,
- 20:16Speaker 1: and I started working on my first screenplay, which is
- 20:18Speaker 1: Video Girl. M hm m m m. Now, he's an
- 20:22Speaker 1: interesting thinging about it. I want to tell people about
- 20:24Speaker 1: our relationship because when he was modeling modeling, he was
- 20:27Speaker 1: transitioning into acting and that's when we met on sitcom.
- 20:32Speaker 1: And the thing about him that I'm so proud of
- 20:34Speaker 1: and I have to say I take this with pride,
- 20:36Speaker 1: which because he was never satisfied with just doing the lines.
- 20:40Speaker 1: He wanted to understand the whole process. And so he's
- 20:43Speaker 1: sitting in my office, he sit and just pretty much
- 20:47Speaker 1: bug me to give him enough information, just like do
- 20:51Speaker 1: he can understood. And it was always that, but but
- 20:53Speaker 1: but but that was a fearless nature about you that
- 20:56Speaker 1: even back then, you know, I knew then that you
- 21:00Speaker 1: were not I believe I'm not a visionary. I didn't
- 21:02Speaker 1: know the evolution of what you are today one of
- 21:05Speaker 1: the top producers and creative minds in Hollywood today, young minds.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Let's go and put that in prospective young minds in
- 21:13Speaker 1: Hollywood today, when you when you were sitting back there
- 21:16Speaker 1: just asking me questions, other producer's questions, what was the
- 21:19Speaker 1: what was the thought process? Because we would just bringing
- 21:21Speaker 1: in there, trying to help you transition, give you an
- 21:23Speaker 1: acting opportunity because you want to be more than just
- 21:26Speaker 1: a model. At the time. Yeah, I mean, I just
- 21:32Speaker 1: like I'm I'm a big student of the business. You know,
- 21:35Speaker 1: I researched a lot of people's careers and you know,
- 21:39Speaker 1: and and obviously you know uh what you and Steve
- 21:43Speaker 1: have been able to do it. It's been amazing. I mean,
- 21:46Speaker 1: that's that's it's really really big, you know, uh, you
- 21:52Speaker 1: know entrepreneurial minds. You know, opportunities you've given to so
- 21:57Speaker 1: many people you know that look like us. I mean,
- 21:59Speaker 1: it's it's just you know, incredible. Um. I think for me,
- 22:03Speaker 1: I just wanted always, like I said, I always thought
- 22:06Speaker 1: about just having longevity. And I think when you when
- 22:10Speaker 1: you were able to create your own projects, you know,
- 22:12Speaker 1: I think the town has to respect you better. You know,
- 22:15Speaker 1: like you you're not just somebody waiting by the phone
- 22:18Speaker 1: for somebody to give you a job. So you know,
- 22:20Speaker 1: when I even when I looked at the people like
- 22:23Speaker 1: the George Clooney's and the Brad Pitts, and he's in
- 22:26Speaker 1: the way, you know, Brad Pitt and and you know,
- 22:29Speaker 1: I mean even the way Matt Damon and and that
- 22:32Speaker 1: Athlet got into business by sort of righting themselves in
- 22:35Speaker 1: the business because they wrote good Will hunting um. The
- 22:38Speaker 1: feeling that they want to ask me for I just
- 22:40Speaker 1: think that the town, you know, and people like Jon
- 22:42Speaker 1: Favreau who wrote Swingers, and he you know, he was
- 22:45Speaker 1: acting and stuff. Now, he's one of the biggest directors
- 22:47Speaker 1: in our business. I just think that you have to
- 22:49Speaker 1: be you. You have to do more things than than
- 22:53Speaker 1: just one and you know when you can, you know,
- 22:56Speaker 1: create your own projects. Again, I distinct. That's that's just
- 23:01Speaker 1: a different level of respect in our business that comes
- 23:04Speaker 1: with that versus just being looked at is solely just
- 23:08Speaker 1: a talent. Here's a great thing about it. On the phone,
- 23:11Speaker 1: he's on the phone. He's the creator and executive producer
- 23:13Speaker 1: the hit WE TV franchise Growing Up hip Hop, which
- 23:17Speaker 1: is currently in his fourth season and spending off a
- 23:20Speaker 1: Miami version to add to the New York in Atlanta series.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Uh Datari Turner, Tatari. Let's talk about that whole process. First,
- 23:29Speaker 1: the original concept, the original show Growing Up hip Hop,
- 23:32Speaker 1: and now the franchise that we here we see on
- 23:35Speaker 1: TV the housewives type franchises. That is, uh what makes
- 23:40Speaker 1: me most proud about what you're accomplishing. You know, you're
- 23:43Speaker 1: making money while you're sleeping now yeah, yeah, I mean
- 23:47Speaker 1: you know. But for me, I always you know, my
- 23:51Speaker 1: my mission statements in life. I just I feel like
- 23:55Speaker 1: everything that I do it has to have a real
- 23:58Speaker 1: message of why I'm doing it like I never wanted
- 24:01Speaker 1: to do something. Uh just just for money, you know,
- 24:05Speaker 1: because images are really powerful, you know, you know, I
- 24:09Speaker 1: mean they say that what we do in Hollywood is
- 24:12Speaker 1: not brain surgery. But you know, if you really think
- 24:16Speaker 1: about it, you know this is the reason why America
- 24:19Speaker 1: is still a superpower really is because of our entertainment business.
- 24:23Speaker 1: We're not top ten in education. You know, Uh, China,
- 24:27Speaker 1: how many ohs half of us will be we are
- 24:30Speaker 1: dead like crazy, and then we now have other militaries
- 24:34Speaker 1: that rival are. So the reason why we're really a
- 24:36Speaker 1: superpowers because of our entertainment in the street. When we
- 24:39Speaker 1: release a movie, it's the number one movie in the world.
- 24:42Speaker 1: You know, our movie stars of the biggest movie stars
- 24:45Speaker 1: in the world are even our reality stars are. But
- 24:47Speaker 1: I grown up pip hop really was. You know, SE's
- 24:50Speaker 1: playing a long time ago. You know, I remember when
- 24:53Speaker 1: I created my first TV show, Oltsim and Hustler with
- 24:56Speaker 1: Damon Dash at BT. You know, Damon says something to
- 25:00Speaker 1: me that always stuck with me. You know, him and
- 25:02Speaker 1: jay Z were sort of going through their break up
- 25:05Speaker 1: at the time. You know, they both said when they
- 25:08Speaker 1: when they started Rockefeller records. You know, they named their
- 25:12Speaker 1: company after this legacy, you know, white family because they
- 25:18Speaker 1: didn't know of a lot of black familacies that had
- 25:22Speaker 1: black families that had generational wealth and had legacies like
- 25:25Speaker 1: the Rockefellers. So that always stuck with me because at
- 25:29Speaker 1: that time, you know, didd he was coming up with them,
- 25:31Speaker 1: and even Russell Simmons hadn't had kids or been married
- 25:36Speaker 1: to Camor and yet so they named their company after
- 25:39Speaker 1: this rich wife family, and I was just like, that's
- 25:43Speaker 1: you know, I'm thinking about that and how my parents
- 25:46Speaker 1: always talked about legacy. Now through hip hop, you have
- 25:49Speaker 1: these wealthy families that have second, second generations as wealth.
- 25:54Speaker 1: So I just you know, when you know, I was,
- 25:58Speaker 1: I had hired you know, Angela's sister Vanessa Simmons for
- 26:02Speaker 1: a movie I produced called Dysfunctional Friends, and how that
- 26:05Speaker 1: came about, uh, you know, then the Chevy Company reached
- 26:10Speaker 1: out to me. They wanted me to create sort of
- 26:12Speaker 1: like a web series for their site because a lot
- 26:16Speaker 1: of these brands now trying to really get into content
- 26:19Speaker 1: and so they exactly so, so I came up with
- 26:24Speaker 1: a with a web series called Celebrity Closet Raid and
- 26:28Speaker 1: I reached back out to Vanessa to have her do it,
- 26:31Speaker 1: because you know, they have these you know clauses that
- 26:35Speaker 1: have like hundreds of dollards of dollars worth of close
- 26:38Speaker 1: and she couldn't do it at the time that she
- 26:40Speaker 1: was pregnant, but she said, you should do my sister
- 26:43Speaker 1: Angela because she has you know, quarter million dollars and
- 26:46Speaker 1: shoes in a closer. So I hired Angela to do
- 26:50Speaker 1: this show and then we you know, we became you know,
- 26:53Speaker 1: good friends, and um, you know, she was looking to
- 26:56Speaker 1: get back in the reality TV and so we both
- 27:00Speaker 1: you know, set out to uh try to get her
- 27:03Speaker 1: a show, and then we were unsuccessful on that. And
- 27:06Speaker 1: then that's when I came up with the idea to
- 27:08Speaker 1: you know, I was like, well, how about we doing
- 27:11Speaker 1: with all of the legacy kids. Let's go get Romeo.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Let's go get Romeo mask the p I had just
- 27:17Speaker 1: produced a movie car a Girl Like Grace that Romeo
- 27:20Speaker 1: was in, and uh, you know, I went back to
- 27:22Speaker 1: Damon Dash, who I had who I did my first show,
- 27:25Speaker 1: and now his son was grown Boogie, and uh it
- 27:29Speaker 1: really was just me calling relationship relationship exactly. That's what
- 27:35Speaker 1: Driver did as well, you know everything, Like like I said,
- 27:38Speaker 1: everything that I do, I just wanted to have a
- 27:40Speaker 1: meeting behind it and wanted to be something that's positive
- 27:43Speaker 1: and allows people to think about things. You know again, um,
- 27:50Speaker 1: the things that you've accomplished in your life and will
- 27:52Speaker 1: be accomplishing. You're saying all the right people, Rich Paul,
- 27:56Speaker 1: one of top agents in that Lebron camp, Eva du Vername,
- 28:00Speaker 1: you know, Amari Hadreck, Megan god Ken, you have buyers,
- 28:04Speaker 1: all these great names, uh franchises on we TV. You're
- 28:09Speaker 1: doing it, my friend. I'm glad I got to see
- 28:12Speaker 1: you in the beginning because to see your journey has
- 28:15Speaker 1: been awesome. Hey man, I really appreciate that, Roshane. It
- 28:20Speaker 1: means a lot of Yeah, I'm just I'm just here,
- 28:23Speaker 1: you know, you know a lot of things I'm working
- 28:25Speaker 1: on and you know, got a ton of projects coming
- 28:28Speaker 1: you know, coming down the pipeline as well. But I'm
- 28:31Speaker 1: just trying to stay employed, man, and you will be
- 28:34Speaker 1: employed and keep winning again. If you need me to
- 28:36Speaker 1: promote any of your projects, just let me know, just
- 28:39Speaker 1: contact with my staff. Okay, Rich, thanks a lot. I
- 28:42Speaker 1: really appreciate appreciate you chance to hang out thank you, sir.

- 30:05Speaker 1: My next guest, longtime friend, longtime actors, longtime radio person.
- 30:11Speaker 1: I didn't even see radio in her credit. That's what
- 30:14Speaker 1: That's what I messed me up a little bit. I
- 30:15Speaker 1: didn't see radio in their credits. But due to the
- 30:18Speaker 1: New York Times best selling author, fashion and cosmetic mogul,
- 30:22Speaker 1: who's president in the film and TV industry, is rapidly growing.
- 30:26Speaker 1: When I met her, she was in eighteen years old
- 30:28Speaker 1: in Los Angeles. She was doing midday radio and Steve Hardy.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Now we're doing morning drive on eighty two point three
- 30:35Speaker 1: to beat. She can currently be seen this summer on
- 30:37Speaker 1: Stars Network number one hits Your Power Please Walk on
- 30:42Speaker 1: the Money Making Conversations. La La Anthony. Hey, it's talking
- 30:47Speaker 1: to you girl. You're fantastic, great, thank you for calling in.
- 30:52Speaker 1: First of all, Um, First of all, I gotta go
- 30:56Speaker 1: back when I first met you in Los Angeles, and
- 31:01Speaker 1: you're just so naturally gifted. But you always always got
- 31:06Speaker 1: the impression because you always said that you wanted to
- 31:08Speaker 1: be bigger, you wanted to do more. You always felt
- 31:10Speaker 1: that you were bigger to radio. What was the drive
- 31:14Speaker 1: because you because you was hired from Atlanta to do
- 31:17Speaker 1: radio in Los Angeles, which is that's cross country, okay,
- 31:21Speaker 1: And that's a lot of emotions, that's a lot of
- 31:24Speaker 1: you know, a lot of things that you know there's
- 31:27Speaker 1: no guarantees, but you made that decision. I want to
- 31:30Speaker 1: I want the listeners to hear what drove you at
- 31:33Speaker 1: that early stage, which makes you the success you are today.
- 31:36Speaker 1: I think, I think to be successful, people have to
- 31:39Speaker 1: understand you have to be willing to take risks and
- 31:41Speaker 1: be willing to, you know, push fear out the way.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I could have let fear get in the way of
- 31:46Speaker 1: being moving to l A at nineteen years old and
- 31:48Speaker 1: not knowing anybody actually even been to l A when
- 31:51Speaker 1: I moved there. I mean, in my world, you can
- 31:54Speaker 1: only dream about a place like l A. You weren't
- 31:57Speaker 1: traveling there, so I never been there before and just
- 32:00Speaker 1: got off the plane and moved there. But I had
- 32:02Speaker 1: to let fear out the way because I knew what
- 32:05Speaker 1: my goal was. I knew I wanted to be successful,
- 32:07Speaker 1: and I knew this was the start of achieving that goal.
- 32:10Speaker 1: So I just chomped it up there what I had
- 32:12Speaker 1: to do. And I feel like you know, it always
- 32:15Speaker 1: decisions and so we met. You know you always can
- 32:20Speaker 1: you give. I always talk to you about everything, everything
- 32:26Speaker 1: and looking at you and and and Steve Harvey. You
- 32:29Speaker 1: know that motivated me too because I would see all
- 32:31Speaker 1: the amazing things you guys were doing and not just
- 32:34Speaker 1: being on the radio, and like at that time and
- 32:37Speaker 1: even now, you know, people want to put people in boxes,
- 32:40Speaker 1: like if you're on the radio, that's all you do.
- 32:42Speaker 1: If you're a producer, that's all you do. If you're
- 32:44Speaker 1: on TV, that's all you do. And Steve was one
- 32:47Speaker 1: of the first people along which you know, your help
- 32:49Speaker 1: to break those barriers and show people you can do
- 32:52Speaker 1: a lot of different things and be great at it.
- 32:55Speaker 1: And that's what I wanted to do. So it just
- 32:57Speaker 1: taught me at an early age not to put myself
- 33:00Speaker 1: in a box and be able to accomplish different things.
- 33:04Speaker 1: And then the first big break out of radio was
- 33:06Speaker 1: MTV H and I remember you used to shine. I
- 33:09Speaker 1: got an audition. I mean, you call me. I think
- 33:13Speaker 1: I think they liked me. What you like? Do you know?
- 33:16Speaker 1: I'm overre hustling with Steve? So I really couldn't couldn't,
- 33:19Speaker 1: couldn't get into a world. But I can go go
- 33:21Speaker 1: for a girl, go for it right now. You always
- 33:23Speaker 1: gave me the confidence and that's something I'll never forget
- 33:26Speaker 1: and I'm so grateful for. That's why when I even
- 33:28Speaker 1: heard about the interview, I was like, do you know
- 33:31Speaker 1: how far back we go in my career, especially in
- 33:37Speaker 1: the early early stages. Yeah, the MTV audition happened and
- 33:40Speaker 1: I booked that job, and then I moved to New
- 33:42Speaker 1: York and started, you know, hosting prlan m HM. And
- 33:46Speaker 1: that's the thing that always and I would text her
- 33:49Speaker 1: sometimes when a CEO TV what it was on b
- 33:53Speaker 1: ET and just so your articulation and your intellect was
- 33:58Speaker 1: always especially you used to do the social media boards.
- 34:02Speaker 1: You was just round and I would text us the girl,
- 34:04Speaker 1: are you crazy? That is too good? I would just
- 34:06Speaker 1: text her, I don't know, you know, it's you know,
- 34:08Speaker 1: because it was just it was just you, just a
- 34:10Speaker 1: naturally gifted person and you just and everything came off
- 34:15Speaker 1: so easy, and I know it wasn't easy because you
- 34:18Speaker 1: put your work in. That was the one thing I
- 34:19Speaker 1: want to let everybody know. One of the most hard
- 34:22Speaker 1: working individuals is on the phone right here, because she
- 34:25Speaker 1: puts her time and she's willing to give the hours.
- 34:28Speaker 1: She's one of the people that you know I was.
- 34:30Speaker 1: I was running the people go what it takes to
- 34:32Speaker 1: be successful, and people always asking me about when I said,
- 34:35Speaker 1: people always say I want Steve Harvey's career because they
- 34:38Speaker 1: want me to manage them. I go, well, okay, let
- 34:40Speaker 1: me just let you know I'm a workaholic. Rashan McDonald's walkerholic.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Now Steve Harvey is a workaholic too, because I never
- 34:47Speaker 1: had to see on the phone right here, Love Anthony
- 34:51Speaker 1: is a workaholic. So so it's like they don't they're bed.
- 34:55Speaker 1: It's just there. The rest. It's not there to lay
- 34:58Speaker 1: in and you don't even and we don't even use
- 35:01Speaker 1: we don't even like like we should be rescued fairly
- 35:04Speaker 1: even rest. It's just hard work. And sometimes people don't
- 35:07Speaker 1: understand that. They see certain things, it looks so easy.
- 35:10Speaker 1: It's like, oh, I want to do that too, and
- 35:12Speaker 1: no one really understands the bullets went into you that
- 35:14Speaker 1: are put behind it, like it's not easy. And that's
- 35:17Speaker 1: why I always say it sounds so cliche when you
- 35:19Speaker 1: say hard work pays off, but it really does. Because
- 35:22Speaker 1: one thing about me. I just know hard work and
- 35:25Speaker 1: I'm watching it even now. Just continue to pay off
- 35:28Speaker 1: in my career and I'm not gonna stop. I know
- 35:31Speaker 1: you're not. And I'm gonna tell you this the compliment
- 35:33Speaker 1: when I saw your uncensored you are. You are beautiful,
- 35:39Speaker 1: You're articulate, You're smart. And I tell you something when
- 35:42Speaker 1: they when they put you in these roles of being
- 35:44Speaker 1: a daytime talk show host, you have to have layers.
- 35:48Speaker 1: You know, you know, you have to have experiences. So
- 35:50Speaker 1: when guests come to you with emotional issues, you have
- 35:53Speaker 1: to be able to talk to them. You can't look
- 35:55Speaker 1: at what the producer what I was saying, that what
- 35:57Speaker 1: I say that you able to relate? You will? You will?
- 36:02Speaker 1: You were everything last night. So so what was the
- 36:05Speaker 1: goal or that you were trying to accomplish when they
- 36:08Speaker 1: approach you to do Uncensored for TV one. I think
- 36:11Speaker 1: for me, it's just allowing people to see who I
- 36:15Speaker 1: am as a person, even though I do feel like
- 36:17Speaker 1: people know that, but just the inside glimpse of my
- 36:19Speaker 1: life and how I started and how I made it
- 36:21Speaker 1: to where I'm at today. And for me, it's more
- 36:24Speaker 1: of an inspiring story for young women out there who
- 36:27Speaker 1: are trying to achieve goals to look at, you know,
- 36:30Speaker 1: the struggles are are different things I've been through to
- 36:32Speaker 1: get to where I'm at, and just to inspire people
- 36:35Speaker 1: to say, you know, you could do the same thing.
- 36:37Speaker 1: None of us were born with a silver spoon in
- 36:40Speaker 1: our mouth. We all worked hard and came from humble
- 36:43Speaker 1: beginnings and made you know, great lives for ourselves and
- 36:45Speaker 1: just telling other people like, you can do this too,
- 36:49Speaker 1: you can achieve these goals. And more so for me,
- 36:53Speaker 1: it was motivating and inspiring to people out there and
- 36:55Speaker 1: just gave people an inside look at, you know, my
- 36:58Speaker 1: life and how how I did I did and how
- 37:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna you know, because continue now that that's really
- 37:04Speaker 1: cool because when I was when I was watching it,
- 37:06Speaker 1: like I really love the interaction between you and your son.
- 37:09Speaker 1: That was like, oh, you know, you know, produce I
- 37:13Speaker 1: wouldn't produce a mode right there. She needs to talk
- 37:16Speaker 1: show right there, right there, right there, look at look
- 37:18Speaker 1: at it right there. Every mom in the country. She
- 37:21Speaker 1: got the soccer moms right there, she got the regular
- 37:24Speaker 1: moms to single mom, she got every mom and that
- 37:27Speaker 1: moment right there, and then said at the age you're
- 37:29Speaker 1: at right now, and and and in years, they've a
- 37:32Speaker 1: lot of people have tried to lock that age group
- 37:35Speaker 1: that you control right now, and I'm just learning, you know,
- 37:38Speaker 1: you know, you know, you got all the right people
- 37:40Speaker 1: around you. If the offer comes to you, go for
- 37:43Speaker 1: a girl because you're ready. Yeah, well, Roshan, I'll be
- 37:46Speaker 1: calling you like I did in the past. What am
- 37:50Speaker 1: I supposed to do? Because that's that would be a
- 37:52Speaker 1: new field for me and something I know, you know,
- 37:56Speaker 1: So I'm just appreciative to have people like you in
- 37:59Speaker 1: my corner no matter what. And it's time. It's really
- 38:02Speaker 1: it's time because like I said, you know, we're gonna
- 38:05Speaker 1: talk about some of the other things you're doing, but
- 38:07Speaker 1: before we transition to power in the clothing line and
- 38:11Speaker 1: and the other shows that you're doing. I experienced, you know,
- 38:15Speaker 1: emotional tragedy in my life with the hurricane hit Houston, Texas.
- 38:21Speaker 1: And then basically, you know, that's hurricane country, just like
- 38:25Speaker 1: Puerto Rico is hurricane alley sometimes and but what it
- 38:29Speaker 1: did to my city was devastating because you know, you
- 38:34Speaker 1: have you know, you have the black neighborhood, you have
- 38:35Speaker 1: the white where the white neighborhoods got flooded this time. Okay,
- 38:38Speaker 1: the white neighbors got to up this time. So that
- 38:41Speaker 1: really knocked the city for a loop because they nobody
- 38:44Speaker 1: expected that, you know, because our high end neighborhoods of
- 38:48Speaker 1: Memorial and River, well guess what they were underwater. And
- 38:52Speaker 1: so when I saw what happened to Puerto Rico, can
- 38:55Speaker 1: you just let everybody know, walk us into the emotion
- 38:58Speaker 1: that you were tied to that situation there when the
- 39:01Speaker 1: hurricane hit. Yeah, it's definitely emotional. I mean, my families
- 39:04Speaker 1: from Puerto Rico. I still have family in Puerto Rico,
- 39:07Speaker 1: and you're just watching this happen and you know you're
- 39:09Speaker 1: not there, so you feel helpless. You're just watching and
- 39:12Speaker 1: you can't get in touch with anyone. You're calling, phone
- 39:15Speaker 1: lines are down, you're emailing, you're not saying as sponsors.
- 39:18Speaker 1: You don't know if family members are alive. Are they okay?
- 39:21Speaker 1: Like those are some of the you know, hardest days
- 39:24Speaker 1: of my life, just waiting to just get a answer
- 39:27Speaker 1: yes and no, anything, just just something like that's so hard.
- 39:31Speaker 1: And then you know, luckily all my family was okay,
- 39:34Speaker 1: and I did get those responses, but what's even more
- 39:36Speaker 1: heartbreaking is how we watched out, you know, the United States,
- 39:40Speaker 1: and our president kind of handled Puerto Rico became like
- 39:43Speaker 1: a joke and oh it kind as dead as as
- 39:46Speaker 1: if you're thinking, then you know, you never saw anything
- 39:48Speaker 1: else about Puerto Rico on the news or anything. If
- 39:50Speaker 1: you go to Puerto Rico, now, yeah, San Juan, which
- 39:53Speaker 1: is the main town, looks somewhat like itself, but go
- 39:56Speaker 1: a couple of miles up into you know, some of
- 39:59Speaker 1: the towns still it's just horrible. Like there's still places
- 40:04Speaker 1: with no electricity, there's still places with no running water,
- 40:07Speaker 1: and you just would never know that. It's all of
- 40:09Speaker 1: a sudden, Puerto Rico just got forgotten about. So I'm
- 40:12Speaker 1: here to continue to bring the word out into the
- 40:15Speaker 1: needs of Puerto Rico, continue to raise money, do what
- 40:18Speaker 1: I can. Um. Spike Lee actually call me over the
- 40:21Speaker 1: weekend and we're planning something together in Puerto Rico. So
- 40:25Speaker 1: just continuing to keep the spotlight on it, because if
- 40:27Speaker 1: we're just going off of television, you would think Puerto
- 40:30Speaker 1: Rico's back in tip top shape and and doesn't need
- 40:32Speaker 1: a thing, And that's just not the case, right, And
- 40:35Speaker 1: that's why I wanted to make sure I brought that
- 40:37Speaker 1: up in our interview, because this is bigger than a movie.
- 40:42Speaker 1: You're in a TV show I'm producing, because this is
- 40:47Speaker 1: real life. Is real life. So your mom, she's beautiful,
- 40:51Speaker 1: your mom on H one, you will be hosted. This
- 40:54Speaker 1: is what you do, La, La, this is what you do.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Tell us about hosting Uh, Mama Mothers Stay Special on
- 41:01Speaker 1: VH one. Yeah, so I did it last year, were
- 41:04Speaker 1: doing it again this year, myself and Anthony Anderson, And
- 41:06Speaker 1: it's is getting like Steve Harvey now you know that, right,
- 41:13Speaker 1: And we always I mean, he's such a funny guy,
- 41:16Speaker 1: like we have so much doesn't even feel like work.
- 41:18Speaker 1: We're over there just cleaning it. But to do the
- 41:21Speaker 1: show and honor moms out there and single moms and
- 41:26Speaker 1: working moms and just really show love to the moms
- 41:29Speaker 1: is a great thing. And you know, we have other
- 41:31Speaker 1: celebrity guests who honor their moms, but then we find
- 41:34Speaker 1: moms like in the military we want to honor and
- 41:37Speaker 1: just different moms all over you know the world. And
- 41:40Speaker 1: it's just an amazing kind of pull your heart strings
- 41:44Speaker 1: thing to be a part of. And I'm happy to
- 41:45Speaker 1: be hosting it again this year. And that's important because
- 41:48Speaker 1: I love the fact that you know because all right,
- 41:51Speaker 1: because when it first came out and I used to
- 41:53Speaker 1: reach on single mams, traditional malls. You know all these layers,
- 41:58Speaker 1: and again you involved in another project that is fully
- 42:02Speaker 1: encompassing you. Like I said, I just want you to
- 42:05Speaker 1: understand who we're talking to, who I'm talking to, and
- 42:07Speaker 1: who you're listening to. A young lady who's very aware
- 42:11Speaker 1: of her brand and very aware of her fan base.
- 42:14Speaker 1: What you're doing is multiple streams of income and that's
- 42:18Speaker 1: a that's a that's and making money while you're sleeping.
- 42:21Speaker 1: That is the goal here. You at that right age,
- 42:24Speaker 1: the eighteen to thirty or four millennial group will follow you.
- 42:27Speaker 1: I want everybody to know how powerful you are as
- 42:30Speaker 1: an entrepreneur, how you're winning in the in the world
- 42:34Speaker 1: and and and just in the world of information. The
- 42:36Speaker 1: fact that you still like like you, like you identified
- 42:39Speaker 1: in this in the uncensored to day. You still have
- 42:42Speaker 1: love for Puerto Rico, and and you're divorce of Puerto Rico.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Now you're divorce for women all over were saying, okay,
- 42:52Speaker 1: you want to wear some denom James I got you.
- 42:54Speaker 1: I got you zero the twenty four I got you,
- 42:57Speaker 1: I got you, Okay you hosting mother Day Dear Mama
- 43:01Speaker 1: on Mother's Day May seven. I got you single mom.
- 43:05Speaker 1: I got you Military mom. I got you working mom.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I got you traditional Mam. I got you, celebrity mom.
- 43:11Speaker 1: I got you, Poe Mall. This is what we do.
- 43:14Speaker 1: So you keep winning, girl. I'm so great you took
- 43:16Speaker 1: time to talk to Roshan McDonald. Feel good on the planet.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Her will well, Girl, you keep winning. You are a star.
- 43:27Speaker 1: I feel so good to be able to look through
- 43:29Speaker 1: the over the years to see the journey you've taken. Um,
- 43:32Speaker 1: Stay blessed, Stay blessed. I love you. I gotta say
- 43:34Speaker 1: that I love you. We keep winning. This is Lila Anthony.

- 45:05Speaker 1: been doing this young man. He's entertained audiences and film
- 45:09Speaker 1: on television and music on stage online for nearly twenty years.
- 45:14Speaker 1: He's a true social media influencer who continues to dominate
- 45:18Speaker 1: all facets of entertainment as a comedian, host, actor, writer, director,
- 45:23Speaker 1: executive producer, DJ, philanthropist, and children's book author. Please welcome
- 45:28Speaker 1: to Money Making Conversations the incredible Nick Cannon. What's going on,
- 45:35Speaker 1: sir Nick Cannon? My man, I'm just going back real
- 45:40Speaker 1: far when we first met, when I was still on
- 45:42Speaker 1: the Jamie Fox Show and used to send in my
- 45:45Speaker 1: office and used to tell me you want to be
- 45:47Speaker 1: a guy who created multiple stream of income, and you
- 45:50Speaker 1: wanted to make a difference on stage and off stage.
- 45:54Speaker 1: And you've been doing it, my frank, absolutely, man, you
- 45:58Speaker 1: truly one of them, a man in towards and one
- 46:00Speaker 1: of the people that showed me that you can be
- 46:02Speaker 1: multi batting and do all things, and on the entertainment side,
- 46:06Speaker 1: but more importantly on the entrepreneur side. And I appreciate
- 46:10Speaker 1: you for just being an o G and paving the way. Well,
- 46:13Speaker 1: thank you, uh you know, as you sit on the
- 46:15Speaker 1: sidelines man, and and look at a talent like you
- 46:19Speaker 1: because of the fact that let's let's let's tell everybody
- 46:23Speaker 1: you know, you kind of got your first you Sago,
- 46:26Speaker 1: So he's right down from Los Angeles. So you came up.
- 46:29Speaker 1: I went to Los Angeles and your first break really
- 46:32Speaker 1: was doing warm up? Correct, Yeah, definitely my first break.
- 46:37Speaker 1: I mean as a teenager like obviously, you know, doing
- 46:40Speaker 1: the hustle of being a stand up around you know,
- 46:43Speaker 1: fifteen sixteen years old or through l A and then
- 46:47Speaker 1: you know, our first couple of opportunities. I mean, the
- 46:49Speaker 1: first opportunity I got to do warm up was on
- 46:52Speaker 1: the Colodeon and then to me, I turned that into
- 46:54Speaker 1: a business. I mean that was enough to pay my
- 46:57Speaker 1: mama and drink and and you know, I was just
- 47:00Speaker 1: every every show that gave me an opportunity, so I
- 47:03Speaker 1: I started naming like you know, the keening and chails
- 47:05Speaker 1: and all that. But I got an opportunity to warm
- 47:09Speaker 1: up a couple of times on from w B shows
- 47:11Speaker 1: and even hang out on the set, you know, like
- 47:13Speaker 1: you said, at different shows like the Jamie Fox Show
- 47:16Speaker 1: and Steve Barber Show. And that's when I kind of
- 47:18Speaker 1: saw how big that world actually was and how many
- 47:21Speaker 1: jobs and occupations that you know, one could be existing
- 47:24Speaker 1: instead of just being in front of the camera, because
- 47:26Speaker 1: that's always was the case, you know. And your first
- 47:29Speaker 1: movie break was I would say, drum line correct. Yeah, yeah,
- 47:34Speaker 1: I mean obviously because I had when I was a
- 47:36Speaker 1: teenager from doing all of the arsinal and stuff I
- 47:38Speaker 1: gotta deal with Will Smith uh and so he gave
- 47:41Speaker 1: me a small little role in Many Black too. Uh
- 47:45Speaker 1: So that was probably the first time I was ever
- 47:48Speaker 1: in a movie, but the first movie that I ever
- 47:49Speaker 1: started this drum line. Come on, I'm gonna talking about
- 47:52Speaker 1: a stall. You know, you know you carried that movie? Yeah?
- 47:55Speaker 1: You know that was WILLI Smith movie. Okay, Nick, that
- 47:58Speaker 1: was Will Smith movie. We're talking about talking about drum line, dude,
- 48:02Speaker 1: But they said you are the man. You are the man.
- 48:09Speaker 1: You know. It was such a time movie. The reason
- 48:12Speaker 1: I love talking to a brand like yours and started
- 48:16Speaker 1: so young and still relevant today is because of the
- 48:19Speaker 1: fact that you've grown through that whole millennial generational process
- 48:23Speaker 1: where you grew up with the iPhone, you grew up
- 48:26Speaker 1: in the internet generation, you know emails or you know,
- 48:30Speaker 1: I grew up in I was born with a rotary
- 48:32Speaker 1: dial telephone. You know what I'm saying. So you know
- 48:34Speaker 1: that just you know, you know when when when when
- 48:37Speaker 1: the when the television shows went off When I was
- 48:39Speaker 1: growing up, you know, they went off at midnight and
- 48:41Speaker 1: you heard the flag and in the national anthem. You know,
- 48:44Speaker 1: today technology used to go off for real, one off.
- 48:51Speaker 1: You know what we're gonna do not go to bed.
- 48:53Speaker 1: You're gonna go to bed board. You're gonna go to bed.
- 48:56Speaker 1: And so you grew up in a twenty four our
- 48:58Speaker 1: world or twenty four world? How did that? How did
- 49:01Speaker 1: that affect you? Knowing that because I see it in
- 49:04Speaker 1: your brand, and we're gonna talk about those layers, but
- 49:06Speaker 1: I do want to get a good sense of what
- 49:09Speaker 1: incredible which is your company divisions that flow out of
- 49:12Speaker 1: that tell us about that. Really it's uh endless possibilities
- 49:19Speaker 1: more than anything, like you said, like you live in
- 49:22Speaker 1: a twenty four our world and everything that your seniord tips,
- 49:26Speaker 1: there's nothing that you can't do. There's nothing that you
- 49:28Speaker 1: can't put your mind to, and just the ingenuity just
- 49:31Speaker 1: based off of your creativity is so prevalent in this
- 49:37Speaker 1: generation and in the mindset they don't believe there's any
- 49:40Speaker 1: any limits, which is cool. So to be able to
- 49:43Speaker 1: approach business life just from a highspect of whatever I
- 49:47Speaker 1: put my mind and I'm gonna make it happen, it's
- 49:49Speaker 1: a beautiful thing. And that's the and that's the really
- 49:52Speaker 1: important that you say that because of the fact that
- 49:54Speaker 1: a lot of people don't pursue opportunities out of fear
- 49:59Speaker 1: they've have changed, and that's not that's not your m O.
- 50:02Speaker 1: You don't you know, we all have, we all questioned.
- 50:04Speaker 1: I said, I don't wanna tell people, you know, nervousness
- 50:07Speaker 1: or when I feel uncomfortable. I used to work uncomfortable
- 50:10Speaker 1: in my my vocabulary. When I talk about change, I
- 50:12Speaker 1: always say that's a good thing for me. When I'm uncomfortable,
- 50:15Speaker 1: I'm about to veer into another direction that's really gonna
- 50:18Speaker 1: be good for me. Because if you stay comfortable, you
- 50:20Speaker 1: know you you can subject to the failures are being comfortable.
- 50:23Speaker 1: But when you have multiple streams of income, like you're creating,
- 50:26Speaker 1: then you also know there's a lot of uncomfortable zones
- 50:29Speaker 1: that you go into question yourself, like like the whole
- 50:33Speaker 1: creation of the Wild and Now, which is a legendary
- 50:36Speaker 1: um production that you created as a young man. A
- 50:39Speaker 1: young man and I talked about that creating process, and
- 50:43Speaker 1: then then I have one a hiatus for six years.
- 50:46Speaker 1: It was on MTV and with the MTV two nights
- 50:49Speaker 1: back on MTV. Yeah, I mean, honestly, to your point,
- 50:56Speaker 1: that's a perfect example of how one idea that nobody
- 51:01Speaker 1: believed in, that nobody understood it and I had to
- 51:06Speaker 1: invest my own money against my agent and my managers.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Everybody said, don't do it, is not gonna make sense.
- 51:14Speaker 1: And what is an improv hip hop comedy show? And
- 51:18Speaker 1: so I've rented out a comedy club in l A.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Got all my friends together and you know, you know,
- 51:24Speaker 1: people that nobody had ever heard of at the time,
- 51:26Speaker 1: from Cat Williams, d Ray David's, Kevin Hard Come on, uh,
- 51:31Speaker 1: all these people that I was just trying to hook
- 51:34Speaker 1: my friends up with jobs and now these guys are
- 51:36Speaker 1: multi millionaires today. Um. But yeah, and then you know
- 51:40Speaker 1: we cut to two hundred episodes later. Like you said,
- 51:43Speaker 1: it's just a brand that doesn't stop because it speaks
- 51:45Speaker 1: to a generation and again and even in that world
- 51:47Speaker 1: of comedy is just showing that it's a new form
- 51:50Speaker 1: of comedy. It's a way that people can be free
- 51:52Speaker 1: and loosen. Now even you know, with the online generation,
- 51:55Speaker 1: were creating stars out of them too, and you know,
- 51:58Speaker 1: elevating the branding and diversifyance on that many different verticals
- 52:02Speaker 1: from gaming to two restaurants to touring. I mean, use
- 52:07Speaker 1: the biggest comedy tour last year and we're going out again.
- 52:11Speaker 1: You know, in the Arena this year. So we're telling them,
- 52:15Speaker 1: don't let's Steve Harvis here that talking about you the
- 52:17Speaker 1: biggest comedy tour, you know, not this year, last year.
- 52:22Speaker 1: I ain't. I ain't define a comedy now. But now
- 52:28Speaker 1: that's that's awesome. Go. We're gonna talk about a couple
- 52:30Speaker 1: of things because you went into the Wild and Out,
- 52:33Speaker 1: and we talked about exploring the other areas. Restaurants, food. Okay,
- 52:39Speaker 1: you got a big Wild and Not restaurant you opened
- 52:41Speaker 1: into Miami and then San Diego. But the Miami one
- 52:44Speaker 1: is opening first. Tell us about the vision, tell us
- 52:47Speaker 1: about his opening. Yeah, I mean, I'm trying to open
- 52:51Speaker 1: up first, uh, hip hop sports bar chain. And you know,
- 52:55Speaker 1: we're kind of going after that that that Hooters and
- 52:59Speaker 1: Dave and Busters business, because we're gonna have you know,
- 53:03Speaker 1: shade and drinks. Yeah, and you know the same thing
- 53:07Speaker 1: we do. We're doing Wayne's tacos and waffles because but
- 53:13Speaker 1: but it's kind of cool when you think of everything
- 53:16Speaker 1: you see and love from the television show is now
- 53:19Speaker 1: going to be live and living color right there to
- 53:21Speaker 1: where you you know, to be the While and Out
- 53:23Speaker 1: girls and in all of the games, the men you
- 53:26Speaker 1: will be named after some of your favorite people on
- 53:28Speaker 1: the show and games that we play. So it's really
- 53:31Speaker 1: just creating a whole three sixty experience off of a
- 53:35Speaker 1: brand that's already been uh tried and tested, and it's
- 53:39Speaker 1: also promotable. The thing about it, I like the fact
- 53:41Speaker 1: that you know for a fact now that you're about
- 53:44Speaker 1: to capture an audience that's going to have a spending
- 53:46Speaker 1: power for at least another twenty years. That's the beauty
- 53:50Speaker 1: of listening to you talk, you know, because people always
- 53:54Speaker 1: know that that economics and television and growth is always
- 53:57Speaker 1: determined how long is your audience able to buy? How
- 54:00Speaker 1: long are you able to purchase? If you're you're capturing
- 54:03Speaker 1: that oh because well because that's MTV two and MTV audience,
- 54:08Speaker 1: that means you're going all the way down to eighteen
- 54:10Speaker 1: and you're capturing that thirty four. So that audience at
- 54:13Speaker 1: twenty years gonna be thirty eight and fifty four, So
- 54:16Speaker 1: you gotta you got a legacy. Their kids are gonna
- 54:18Speaker 1: come in there, so you building a brand. So we
- 54:20Speaker 1: got were started in Miami. Then we're gonna go to
- 54:23Speaker 1: San Diego, which is your hometown, which is great to
- 54:25Speaker 1: go down there making making everybody proud of you on

- 56:14Speaker 1: you realize your inner energy to create your wealth, it
- 56:19Speaker 1: will be ongoing forever. Three is like my ideas of
- 56:24Speaker 1: my other things that are invaluable. My happiness has been valuable,
- 56:28Speaker 1: and it goes back to putting out that positive energy
