- 0:00Speaker 1: It is clear that some states are not doing enough
- 0:03Speaker 1: to safeguard the Medicaid program.
- 0:06Speaker 2: House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee questioned top medicaid officials from California, Ohio, Minnesota,
- 0:11Speaker 2: and New York. Committee chairman Brett Guthrie press New York's
- 0:14Speaker 2: Medicaid director on why his office had yet to respond
- 0:18Speaker 2: to a request for information about fraud enforcement and his
- 0:21Speaker 2: office sent nearly four months ago.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Will you commit to providing that information to this committee
- 0:26Speaker 3: that we requested.
- 0:27Speaker 4: I can't commit to that here, but I'm happy to
- 0:29Speaker 4: take that back and get.
- 0:30Speaker 5: Thanks you if you're listening to the forty seven Morning
- 0:33Speaker 5: Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Good Saturday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:36Speaker 1: the forty seven Morning Update. We've got one big story
- 0:40Speaker 1: for you. Actually, it's quite a few stories now turning
- 0:43Speaker 1: into a big win list for the White House and
- 0:46Speaker 1: for taxpayers in this country.
- 0:48Speaker 6: Waste, fraud and abuse.
- 0:49Speaker 1: It's been something that the President's been focused on, but
- 0:52Speaker 1: now we're having more rests, more wins, and millions that
- 0:56Speaker 1: have turned into billions of dollars in savings for you.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So what is the latest and how many have been arrested?
- 1:02Speaker 1: We break it all down for you. It's the forty
- 1:05Speaker 1: seven Morning Update, and it starts right now.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Story number one, President.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Trump, when he picked Cash Battel to go after law
- 1:13Speaker 1: and order and go after waste, fraud and abuse.
- 1:15Speaker 6: I'm not even.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Sure that the President knew just how good of a
- 1:20Speaker 1: pick that was going to be. I say that because
- 1:23Speaker 1: of the latest press conference. I'm going to play part
- 1:26Speaker 1: of it for you in a moment. But hundreds have
- 1:28Speaker 1: now been charged in a six point five not million,
- 1:32Speaker 1: a six point five billion dollar healthcare fraud crackdown. This
- 1:37Speaker 1: isn't like one person. It's about four hundred and fifty
- 1:41Speaker 1: defendants that were charged in a record setting crackdown on
- 1:44Speaker 1: Medicaid in hospice care fraud schemes. Officials are now saying
- 1:48Speaker 1: now the charges unveilded a press conference in Washington, d C.
- 1:52Speaker 1: They're against defendants for a variety of schemes and what
- 1:54Speaker 1: officials called a record setting action against fraud. The FBI
- 1:58Speaker 1: director Cashptel, so the charges arose from a new error
- 2:02Speaker 1: quote unquote of investigating fraud.
- 2:04Speaker 6: Now. Just one example cited by officials.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Was a eighty nine million dollar healthcare fraud scheme where
- 2:12Speaker 1: a man was accused of billing insurers for medically unnecessary
- 2:17Speaker 1: cardiovascular tests involving college athletes. The man then allegedly rubber
- 2:22Speaker 1: stamped the results as normal without even reviewing the reviewing
- 2:26Speaker 1: the test results of the student athletes, that one dude
- 2:30Speaker 1: was in charge of eighty nine million in healthcare fraud.
- 2:33Speaker 1: President Trump signed that executive order back in March, creating
- 2:36Speaker 1: the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud. It's being chaired by
- 2:39Speaker 1: the Vice President Jade Vance and has promised to target
- 2:42Speaker 1: rampant fraud in this country. Andrew Ferguson, Chairman of the
- 2:45Speaker 1: Federal Trade Commission, said that five years ago, Medicare was
- 2:49Speaker 1: paying out less than one billion for skin substitutes via allographs,
- 2:54Speaker 1: but in twenty twenty five, the payments had increased almost
- 2:57Speaker 1: fifteen billion, to program that Ferguson said were riddled with fraud. Now,
- 3:02Speaker 1: how did you go from one billion just five years
- 3:04Speaker 1: ago to fifteen billion?
- 3:05Speaker 6: People found a loophole now.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Fergusonside a case in Nevada where a nurse practitioner allegedly
- 3:12Speaker 1: built Medicare for nearly one billion in skin substitute alograms alligraphs.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Excuse me, Ferguson said the nurse practitioner was performing the
- 3:22Speaker 1: allographs on elderly vulnerable people in hospices and nursing homes
- 3:27Speaker 1: and then submitting the claims just a cash cow quote.
- 3:30Speaker 1: She was using human beings American citizens as living piggy banks.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Now the government seized eight hundred and sixty five thousand
- 3:37Speaker 1: necklaces and a five hundred thousand dollars ferrari that the
- 3:40Speaker 1: nurse practitioner bought with her fraudulent earnings. According to Ferguson,
- 3:44Speaker 1: officials spoke of new methods of attacking fraud with unprecedented
- 3:47Speaker 1: cooperation among state and federal partners, saying this, we now
- 3:51Speaker 1: use techniques that are historically never thought of. That's amazing.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Instead of just flagging problems, we built cases. By the
- 3:58Speaker 1: time our law enforcement partner's ready to move, we aim
- 4:01Speaker 1: to hand them a file that is already complete, already
- 4:04Speaker 1: ready to go. Officials said there were forty five states
- 4:08Speaker 1: and attorney generals involved in Tuesday's charges. For the first
- 4:11Speaker 1: time in modern history, everyone is working together, is with
- 4:13Speaker 1: the Acting US Attorney Todd Blanche said in a statement. Now,
- 4:16Speaker 1: I want you to also hear what cash Bettel had
- 4:18Speaker 1: to say at the press conference talking about in general
- 4:23Speaker 1: the links that the FBI is willing to go to,
- 4:26Speaker 1: not just for these cases, but also for other cases
- 4:29Speaker 1: that he announced as well.
- 4:30Speaker 7: Those days are over, and this should showcase to the
- 4:33Speaker 7: world the length that we will go as an interagency
- 4:36Speaker 7: and as a task force to apprehend and arrest and
- 4:39Speaker 7: bring to justice anyone who steals our dollars that are
- 4:42Speaker 7: meant for our most vulnerable citizens. We're also going to
- 4:46Speaker 7: ask what we did in Ohio a couple of weeks ago,
- 4:49Speaker 7: and we'll circulate it on social media later. We're adding
- 4:52Speaker 7: two more individuals to the most Wanted fraudster list.
- 4:55Speaker 4: I said then, and I've said it before.
- 4:57Speaker 7: The American people in the world are our best soce
- 5:00Speaker 7: of information. There is no such thing as bad information.
- 5:03Speaker 7: So if you have any information on colleague Satari, who's
- 5:07Speaker 7: wanted for a five hundred and forty seven million dollars
- 5:09Speaker 7: genetic testing scheme and we believe to be hiding in
- 5:12Speaker 7: the United Arab Emirates, call one eight hundred, Call FBI
- 5:15Speaker 7: one eight hundred, call FBI.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Let us know you saw what we did in.
- 5:18Speaker 7: Just two weeks by apprehended two of the most wanted
- 5:20Speaker 7: fraud stars with your help, we will apprehend the rest
- 5:22Speaker 7: of them. The last one is Emily Tie, who's also
- 5:25Speaker 7: wanted in connection with a genetic testing scheme for allegedly
- 5:28Speaker 7: stealing ninety million dollars and she was previously on an
- 5:32Speaker 7: ankle monitor and fled, we believe, to Vietnam. So if
- 5:35Speaker 7: the American public or anyone in the world has information
- 5:37Speaker 7: on Emily Tie, please call one eight hundred one eight hundred,
- 5:40Speaker 7: call FBI. We need your information, we need your help.
- 5:43Speaker 7: And you have now seen what we can collectively do
- 5:45Speaker 7: as an inner agency under the Attorney General's brilliant leadership
- 5:48Speaker 7: and the prioritization at the White House, that fraud will
- 5:50Speaker 7: not be tolerated, that fraud perpetrators will be apprehended not
- 5:53Speaker 7: just across the United States of America, but from the
- 5:55Speaker 7: four corners of the world. So we plead with you
- 5:57Speaker 7: to give us any and all information that you have.
- 6:00Speaker 7: And again, the only type of bad information is the
- 6:02Speaker 7: one that we don't receive from you. So please call
- 6:04Speaker 7: one eight hundred, call FBI with any information on any
- 6:07Speaker 7: of the fraudsters on our most wanted list. And this
- 6:10Speaker 7: should be a clear message to the world that the FBI,
- 6:12Speaker 7: along with our interagency partners, are not tolerating fraud anymore,
- 6:16Speaker 7: and we will chase them down just like we chase
- 6:17Speaker 7: down terrorists, narco traffickers, gang bangers, and those that wish
- 6:21Speaker 7: to do harm to our communities, because this type of
- 6:23Speaker 7: harm is equally as harmful to our most vulnerable.
- 6:27Speaker 1: By the way, one thing I do love about what
- 6:29Speaker 1: cash Furtel is doing is he's making libels go insane.
- 6:34Speaker 1: And the reason why is because he's doing what he
- 6:37Speaker 1: said he was going to do. And they're mad that
- 6:39Speaker 1: he drank a beer with the US hockey team. Remember that,
- 6:41Speaker 1: Like they turn into like some sort of like like
- 6:44Speaker 1: worst case scenario, horrific thing that the FBI director slam
- 6:48Speaker 1: to beer with the with the American hockey team after
- 6:51Speaker 1: we beat Canada. Last week, the fbis executed a lot
- 6:55Speaker 1: of different as he described them, ftoc's unforced separate continents
- 7:01Speaker 1: in twenty four hours, Like this is getting the work done.
- 7:04Speaker 7: Last week, the FBI executed four ftalks on four separate
- 7:07Speaker 7: continents in twenty four hours. We did this because we
- 7:10Speaker 7: had the backing of the White House and the US
- 7:12Speaker 7: government and the Department of Justice to go out and
- 7:14Speaker 7: apprehend criminals wherever they are. One such individual related to
- 7:18Speaker 7: fraud was apprehended in Turkey thanks to the relationships and
- 7:21Speaker 7: partnerships between the Ambassador Tom Barrick and the Turkish government.
- 7:24Speaker 7: Mister Hilney was arrested after perpetrating a multi billion dollar
- 7:29Speaker 7: fraud in Turkey, apprehended and transferred back to the United
- 7:32Speaker 7: States of America while he were faced prosecution.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Now you listen to that, this is exactly what you want.
- 7:39Speaker 1: You want a guy who was out there, who was
- 7:42Speaker 1: going after the fraudsters.
- 7:43Speaker 6: And getting them.
- 7:44Speaker 1: The FBI director announced agency had arrested two of the
- 7:47Speaker 1: most wanted fraudsters already.
- 7:49Speaker 6: Who would not celebrate.
- 7:51Speaker 7: This, and in just the last two weeks, thanks to
- 7:53Speaker 7: the help of the American people in the world, we
- 7:56Speaker 7: have apprehended two of the most wanted fraudsters already. Of
- 8:00Speaker 7: those individuals, Herbert Leon Kimball, was apprehended in the Philippines.
- 8:03Speaker 4: He's an American citizen.
- 8:05Speaker 7: He had been builking, allegedly the system against medicaid for
- 8:08Speaker 7: billions of dollars since twenty fourteen, one point two billion
- 8:11Speaker 7: dollars in telemedicine specifically alone. That individual is apprehended in
- 8:15Speaker 7: the Philippines and transported back to the United States of America,
- 8:18Speaker 7: while he will now face justice and in just the last.
- 8:21Speaker 6: I mean, this is amazing.
- 8:22Speaker 1: This is what the FBI was supposed to do. This
- 8:26Speaker 1: is what the FBI's job is. Fraud is no longer
- 8:30Speaker 1: being put up with and it's no longer being tolerated.
- 8:33Speaker 6: That's what the FBI director said.
- 8:36Speaker 1: And this goes back to the main point about Donald Trump,
- 8:40Speaker 1: and he said, I'm going to go after those that
- 8:43Speaker 1: are abusing the system. We're going to go after people
- 8:46Speaker 1: that are corrupt. We're going to go after people that
- 8:49Speaker 1: are doing these things. And by the way, we have
- 8:51Speaker 1: two men more men, two more that were arrested, for example,
- 8:55Speaker 1: in the UFC terror plot at the White House. And
- 8:58Speaker 1: you look at that news came out this morning. The
- 9:01Speaker 1: FBI is not just doing these fraud they're keeping us safe.
- 9:06Speaker 6: They're doing all of what they're supposed to be doing.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Two more men have been arrested by the FBI, this
- 9:11Speaker 3: time in Missouri and Washington State, threatening to murder people
- 9:15Speaker 3: at President Trump's UFC event right here at the White
- 9:18Speaker 3: House on June fourteenth, that also coincided with Flag Day.
- 9:21Speaker 3: The Army's birthday and President Trump's birthday. Now newly unsealed
- 9:26Speaker 3: court records identified Jordan Rinker and William Faugner, not to
- 9:29Speaker 3: be confused with the Great American author as defending six
- 9:31Speaker 3: and seven and what authorities say have become a mass
- 9:34Speaker 3: casualty attack could have. Prosecutors alleged the plot called for
- 9:38Speaker 3: explosive laden drones to strike near the White House before
- 9:41Speaker 3: sniper teams opened fire on attendees. Investigators say Rinker played
- 9:45Speaker 3: a supporting role, accepting twelve hundred dollars from Leeds. Ringleader
- 9:49Speaker 3: at Abraham Alvarez transferred to pump Action Shotgun discussing carrying
- 9:54Speaker 3: explosive laden drones, using a three D plinter to produce
- 9:57Speaker 3: drunk components, and seeking explosive material. Now total of seven
- 10:01Speaker 3: men have been arrested in connection with the plot of
- 10:04Speaker 3: bringing havoc here to the White House to disrupt that
- 10:06Speaker 3: UFC fight card and tack fans leaving the event.
- 10:09Speaker 6: That is why the fbis here.
- 10:11Speaker 1: They're here to go out there and get these individuals
- 10:15Speaker 1: and keep America safe.
- 10:17Speaker 6: This is not hard.
- 10:18Speaker 1: And when the FBI director says America should take a look,
- 10:20Speaker 1: you should take a look at what leadership from the
- 10:22Speaker 1: White House and potus priorization to go after and combat fraud.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Looks like fraud is no longer being tolerated.
- 10:29Speaker 6: Like what a.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Message to send while also announcing what they got to announce,
- 10:34Speaker 1: which is, oh, yeah, here are not one person. We're
- 10:38Speaker 1: not just gonna throw like one up there, nonna. We're
- 10:42Speaker 1: gonna have a fraud crackdown that scores another huge victory
- 10:45Speaker 1: with more than four hundred and fifty arrests and charge
- 10:48Speaker 1: in more than six point five billion dollars in fraud.
- 10:54Speaker 6: That's what we're.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Going to do.
- 10:56Speaker 6: God bless the men and women in uniform that are
- 10:59Speaker 6: doing this.
- 11:00Speaker 1: When you have all these officials all working together, all
- 11:04Speaker 1: actually for the first.
- 11:05Speaker 6: Time, doing what needs to be done like this is amazing.
