- 0:00Speaker 1: My next caest. It's the third time every year she
- 0:03Speaker 1: comes on the show. Like it's like it's like a
- 0:05Speaker 1: year because the first time it was seventeen in December,
- 0:09Speaker 1: and we came back in in December again, I believe,
- 0:14Speaker 1: and then now we're in January. I'm a little off
- 0:18Speaker 1: on my annual you know, fixed that I gotta have
- 0:22Speaker 1: with Cat that she comes in with energy. My next
- 0:25Speaker 1: guest is a tattoo artist, business owner, painter, philanthropists, and
- 0:29Speaker 1: social media influence and reality television star. She's the first
- 0:34Speaker 1: African American woman to own a tattoo studio in Los Angeles,
- 0:38Speaker 1: achieving noticed after being discovered on vich once hit series
- 0:41Speaker 1: Black and Crew Chicago artistic and creative handworkers included and
- 0:46Speaker 1: doing tattoos for countless celebrities and athletes. Please welcome again,
- 0:51Speaker 1: Katrina cat Tat Jackson. Hey, thank you so much for
- 0:56Speaker 1: having me back. Always so good to shop it out
- 0:59Speaker 1: with you. Well, you know, um, last time he was on,
- 1:02Speaker 1: you know you you just openess the tattoos location and
- 1:06Speaker 1: what's your name of it? Tell us everybody where's it?
- 1:08Speaker 1: Where's that? The shop is called Enigma Tattoo And we're
- 1:12Speaker 1: right in Beverly Hills or right on Peko on Robertson.
- 1:15Speaker 1: So it's a pretty popular intersection right in the center
- 1:18Speaker 1: of the city. Yeah, because because the reason is because
- 1:21Speaker 1: you know, sometimes when traffic is bad, I take Robertson
- 1:25Speaker 1: and can make that left, and I gotta go right
- 1:27Speaker 1: past Peek Cold, you know, and I had to stop
- 1:30Speaker 1: because I'm trying to get to Santa Monica. Make that
- 1:32Speaker 1: right so I get into Hollywood. So I'll make that
- 1:35Speaker 1: left because I always stand because it's gonna be mad
- 1:37Speaker 1: because I always stay at the at the International Intercondo,
- 1:41Speaker 1: the hotel, which is right there in central city. I'm
- 1:43Speaker 1: right down the street from so oh yeah, yeah, next
- 1:46Speaker 1: time you gotta pull over and come on in. Yes,
- 1:49Speaker 1: what's what's the experience? You know, because when here's tattoo,
- 1:52Speaker 1: because I know you have an experience when one comes
- 1:54Speaker 1: into your location. Talk to us about the experience. Um,
- 1:58Speaker 1: you mean like the experience of like a client, So
- 2:01Speaker 1: like clients, I know, you have your work on the
- 2:03Speaker 1: walls and things like that. Correct. Yeah, So um, everyone
- 2:08Speaker 1: that steps from the shop they literally said, like, man,
- 2:11Speaker 1: the vibing here is just amazing, and that's what I wanted. Um,
- 2:16Speaker 1: I knew I wanted a tattoo shop. But when you
- 2:19Speaker 1: think about UM, tattoo shops in the past, like a
- 2:21Speaker 1: lot of them are like a little hole in the
- 2:23Speaker 1: wall shops or you know, just not really like a
- 2:26Speaker 1: super comforting vibe. But like Enigma, when you walk in,
- 2:29Speaker 1: it's good music, good energy, beautiful artwork. I mean there's
- 2:34Speaker 1: eight of us, and all of us are painters as well,
- 2:37Speaker 1: So people come in and they're literally like blown away
- 2:40Speaker 1: by all the art on the walls. And again this
- 2:42Speaker 1: is like an art gallery, you know. So we've been
- 2:45Speaker 1: blessed to have UM two annual art shows since we've
- 2:49Speaker 1: been open. UM people come in and purchased artwork for
- 2:52Speaker 1: their homes and um, you know, they get tattoos. So
- 2:56Speaker 1: the tattoo experience is just very very relaxing and I
- 3:00Speaker 1: guess you could say scenic, you know, because there, you know,
- 3:03Speaker 1: they get to just look at all the art while
- 3:05Speaker 1: they get tattoos. We always have good music going, good conversation.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It's just a good vibe. Well that's why, that's why
- 3:12Speaker 1: I was one of the people understand that, you know,
- 3:14Speaker 1: you know, people, all people have different version of what
- 3:17Speaker 1: they feel the tattoo I've seen them. You know, you
- 3:19Speaker 1: go down Hollywood sun sunset and then you just see
- 3:23Speaker 1: you look over they go, I'm not going up in there,
- 3:26Speaker 1: you know. Or you you know, that's not a place
- 3:28Speaker 1: that that you want to go for the very first
- 3:30Speaker 1: time to get your tattoo. But that's the experience that
- 3:32Speaker 1: you didn't want at your location. And and and when
- 3:35Speaker 1: we first talked, when you first opened it, that's what
- 3:38Speaker 1: really excited me was that you was creating an experience
- 3:42Speaker 1: and that the people will walk away and tell somebody
- 3:44Speaker 1: else about that experience. And that's really and that's very
- 3:48Speaker 1: in line with you know what what what you get
- 3:50Speaker 1: when you go to beauty slaws and uh barbershops, it
- 3:55Speaker 1: is experience. That's why you keep coming back because you
- 3:57Speaker 1: sit there and talk and chat and chop it up,
- 3:59Speaker 1: but you adding the creative aspect of artwork, which is
- 4:02Speaker 1: really part of your passion, right yeah. And I feel
- 4:06Speaker 1: like with any um, like with any service industry, whether
- 4:09Speaker 1: it's like um past you shop or like you said,
- 4:12Speaker 1: hair salon and Barbara, like you know, social media is
- 4:15Speaker 1: so prevalent these days, um, but really what matters is
- 4:19Speaker 1: the word of mouth, you know, and what people are
- 4:22Speaker 1: saying and spreading the word about about your place of business.
- 4:25Speaker 1: So I think that that's more important than than anything. Well,
- 4:29Speaker 1: you know, the thing about it is that, first of all,
- 4:31Speaker 1: you said social media now, uh, you know, you just
- 4:34Speaker 1: posing left and right. Just it's just out there, just posing,
- 4:37Speaker 1: you know. And so are you modeling now or because
- 4:40Speaker 1: because I just that's a good thing now, because all
- 4:43Speaker 1: your all your all your poses are in good taste
- 4:46Speaker 1: and and and and but the but the response and
- 4:48Speaker 1: the engagement that you're getting is really incredible, and I
- 4:51Speaker 1: commend you on that because you're doing it more or
- 4:54Speaker 1: or I just stopped started following you at the wrong
- 4:56Speaker 1: time because you always pop up on my timeline at
- 4:59Speaker 1: that po wasn't again, it wasn't again and so so
- 5:03Speaker 1: so is that is that personal growth for you to
- 5:05Speaker 1: realize that who you are, you feel good about your
- 5:08Speaker 1: So I'm not saying you never felt good about yourself,
- 5:09Speaker 1: but you really are showing your brain and that's part
- 5:12Speaker 1: of your marketing. Yeah, thank you so much. I really
- 5:16Speaker 1: appreciate you noticing that because I remember when I first
- 5:19Speaker 1: started tattooing, um I felt like I had to um be,
- 5:23Speaker 1: I had to hide the faith and you know, the
- 5:26Speaker 1: beauty behind the girl that was the artist. I felt
- 5:28Speaker 1: like in order to be taken serious in this industry,
- 5:31Speaker 1: I could only put out my tattoos, you know, like
- 5:34Speaker 1: it's not about me, it's not about what I look like.
- 5:36Speaker 1: It's only about my artwork. And I've built up my
- 5:39Speaker 1: portfolio to a place where people know that my work
- 5:42Speaker 1: speaks for itself. But um, thanks to you know, reality TV,
- 5:46Speaker 1: people got to see me and got to get to
- 5:49Speaker 1: know me and know who I am behind you know, um,
- 5:53Speaker 1: all the tattoos and stuff. So now I'm not a
- 5:56Speaker 1: place where I'm comfortable, like I feel like my work
- 5:59Speaker 1: is spoken for itself, and I can also like I
- 6:02Speaker 1: work hard to I'm in the gym, you know, like
- 6:04Speaker 1: I have beautiful tattoos on my body, and I've been
- 6:08Speaker 1: blessed for like you know, endorsement deals and beauty brands
- 6:11Speaker 1: and fashion brands to recognize me and you want me
- 6:14Speaker 1: to represent their brands. So it's just crazy how things
- 6:17Speaker 1: come full circles. You know. I've always just stayed true
- 6:20Speaker 1: to just being the best that I can in any aspect,
- 6:23Speaker 1: whether it's working you know, tattoos, my artwork, working out
- 6:27Speaker 1: and um things are just starting to comfortable circles. So
- 6:31Speaker 1: I used to remember I used to take pictures and
- 6:33Speaker 1: my mom would be like, like, why are you just
- 6:34Speaker 1: taking pictures for no reason? It's just for a magazine
- 6:37Speaker 1: or something, And now it's for it's for an endorsement,
- 6:41Speaker 1: you know right right? Oh, no, you're a fire you know,
- 6:44Speaker 1: you know you know me. I'm I'm a professional. I
- 6:46Speaker 1: gotta say an eye for talent. I understand what branding
- 6:49Speaker 1: is all about. And I just have noticed the comfort
- 6:52Speaker 1: zone and then a targeted approach to what you're trying
- 6:56Speaker 1: to do. Because I can tell everybody all the pictures
- 6:58Speaker 1: to tasteful, all the pictures tasteful, the all professional. But
- 7:01Speaker 1: there what is what it's done for me as a
- 7:02Speaker 1: person who doesn't have a tattoo is like and a
- 7:05Speaker 1: guy who you know, I remember when when it was created,
- 7:08Speaker 1: an exact Steve Talk show which somebody came up with
- 7:10Speaker 1: a tattoo were called car washing. We had to cover
- 7:12Speaker 1: those up. And what you've done is normalized the process
- 7:17Speaker 1: and you and other people now know, you know, we
- 7:18Speaker 1: know it's a it's a big world of people out
- 7:20Speaker 1: there who own TV that uh with tattoos. But but
- 7:24Speaker 1: seeing you an attractive person has allowed people to understand
- 7:28Speaker 1: that there is value, there's artwork. That's what that's what really,
- 7:31Speaker 1: that's what it attracts me, is like you are a
- 7:33Speaker 1: walking piece of art. Thank you so much. I appreciate that.
- 7:39Speaker 1: And it's and it's really that's a that's an amazing
- 7:45Speaker 1: thing to say that, did you you? You you are
- 7:48Speaker 1: a walking piece of piece of art that of course
- 7:50Speaker 1: cannot be bought, but can't be sponsored for commercial in
- 7:54Speaker 1: those And that's that's beautiful because reason I enjoyed talking
- 8:00Speaker 1: to you is that cat tattism. Because I just watched
- 8:04Speaker 1: your our conversation. I remember when we first started. You know,
- 8:07Speaker 1: I can tell you our first conversation. You're trying to
- 8:10Speaker 1: find who you are, you know, and you you know
- 8:12Speaker 1: you you walked away from the TV show and you
- 8:15Speaker 1: didn't you didn't know what the future help. But you
- 8:18Speaker 1: were strong and saying I'm gonna make it, I'm gonna
- 8:20Speaker 1: be special. And then when you came on the show
- 8:22Speaker 1: last year, I could tell it when you when you
- 8:24Speaker 1: opened the Tattoos Studio and Beverly Hills, your energy was
- 8:28Speaker 1: way up because you really started focusing on and then
- 8:31Speaker 1: this whole year just watching you on social media, just
- 8:33Speaker 1: watching you your personal growth, your physical growth. You know,
- 8:36Speaker 1: just now sky's the limit now for you. You know that, right?
- 8:42Speaker 1: Thank you? I appreciate that. Yes, that that's absolutely So
- 8:47Speaker 1: let's talk about some stuff that's going on that they
- 8:49Speaker 1: sent to me. Okay. Cat has been invited by the
- 8:51Speaker 1: NFL Players Association to this year's Super Bowl in Miami, Florida.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Cat would design, create Super Bowl and inspired artwork, and
- 8:59Speaker 1: lead the annual National Football League of Players Association Painting
- 9:03Speaker 1: with the Pros event at the local Miami Dade County
- 9:06Speaker 1: school this year. The school is Carol's City Senior High
- 9:10Speaker 1: School that you guys are gonna be How did that happen?
- 9:12Speaker 1: How did you How did that come about? And what
- 9:16Speaker 1: were your thoughts? Did you? Were you involved and saying
- 9:18Speaker 1: this this is the actual concept of what you wanted
- 9:21Speaker 1: to present at the school? Um? Yeah, this is UM.
- 9:26Speaker 1: So this will be the third time, um, the third
- 9:30Speaker 1: annual Super Bowl that I've worked with the Players Associations.
- 9:35Speaker 1: So I was connected with them about three years ago
- 9:37Speaker 1: and we did the first I forgot how it happened,
- 9:41Speaker 1: but I met um Carol, she's UM one of the
- 9:43Speaker 1: leaden ladies of the association, and um, they partnered with
- 9:47Speaker 1: me and they wanted me to design the painting. And
- 9:50Speaker 1: back then it was in Minnesota, so you started out Nicole,
- 9:53Speaker 1: that's extreme. Now Minnesota, Miami, that's extreme. Now that's extreme,
- 9:58Speaker 1: so extreme, my god. And it was so cold that
- 10:01Speaker 1: the whole time. And I was born in Minnesota, so
- 10:04Speaker 1: I know all about that code, you know, I'm from
- 10:07Speaker 1: Chicago to so um, it was a freezing cold. We
- 10:10Speaker 1: did what we had to do. We get the paintings
- 10:11Speaker 1: with the high school. We went to the events, but
- 10:13Speaker 1: other than that, we did not leave that hotel room
- 10:16Speaker 1: like we were. It was freezing, but that was an
- 10:19Speaker 1: experience and it was just so great to be able
- 10:21Speaker 1: to get in there and really do hands on things.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Um with high school. I actually, you know, we talked
- 10:27Speaker 1: about it, but initially I was going to be a
- 10:29Speaker 1: high school math teacher, so I obviously took a different
- 10:33Speaker 1: career path. But any time that I can, you know,
- 10:36Speaker 1: be back in that environment of being hands on and
- 10:40Speaker 1: you know, impacting somebody at such a young age where
- 10:43Speaker 1: you can really like make a difference in their future,
- 10:46Speaker 1: that is what really liked, what thrills me, so, um,
- 10:51Speaker 1: I'm blessed, like Minnesota was Um. The first time it
- 10:54Speaker 1: was so amazing, and then they asked me back a
- 10:56Speaker 1: second time when it was in Atlanta, also amazing. That
- 11:00Speaker 1: time it was at Booker T. Washington High School and
- 11:02Speaker 1: those kids were so talented, like um they did, the
- 11:06Speaker 1: band came through and um, we just painted together. That
- 11:10Speaker 1: one was amazing. So I'm really really excited for uh
- 11:14Speaker 1: this one. This one was gonna be Miami. I'm sure
- 11:16Speaker 1: the weather is gonna be nice. I finished my artwork
- 11:19Speaker 1: that I submitted for the high school that we're all
- 11:22Speaker 1: going to be painting. I kept it real, seeing it
- 11:24Speaker 1: real beach vibe Miami, beach vivee. So um, it was
- 11:29Speaker 1: very Um. This painting that I designed was inspired by
- 11:33Speaker 1: the whole Miami art scene, so I got to get really,
- 11:35Speaker 1: really really creative with it. You know, art basils in
- 11:38Speaker 1: Miami every December. So I think that, um, this time
- 11:43Speaker 1: it is just gonna be I'm so exciting. I like
- 11:48Speaker 1: this conversation because it just shows that you know how
- 11:51Speaker 1: the diversity of your life, your personality, you'll give back
- 11:54Speaker 1: and because you know that's that's what connected us in
- 11:56Speaker 1: our first interview because my degree is in mathematics and
- 11:59Speaker 1: you studied math, studied math, and that was always our connection,
- 12:02Speaker 1: uh down in Missouri. And so now but again I
- 12:06Speaker 1: always tell people, because that's your direction on me, that
- 12:08Speaker 1: has to be your final goal. And that's the purpose
- 12:11Speaker 1: of money making conversations to tell that story. We're gonna
- 12:13Speaker 1: be back with more in our next break with cat Tap.
- 12:15Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about now I hear something about a
- 12:17Speaker 1: new reality shows that. Okay, cool, We're gonna talk about that.
- 12:22Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about that when we come back. And also,
- 12:24Speaker 1: you know, I can kind of be mad at you
- 12:26Speaker 1: because you was in Atlanta and didn't call your ball,
- 12:28Speaker 1: you know. Then then then the d M, the direct
- 12:30Speaker 1: message you or something like that you up there freezing
- 12:32Speaker 1: your tattoos in Minnesota, will probably ask it for a cope.
- 12:35Speaker 1: We'll be right back with more money making conversations. She's
- 12:38Speaker 1: here tattoo artists, business owner, painter, philanthropists, social media influencer,
- 12:42Speaker 1: a person I've watched grow A first thing I want
- 12:44Speaker 1: to call a friend. Um as she as she learns
- 12:48Speaker 1: about herself, I think that when I look at my life,
- 12:50Speaker 1: you know, I was talking to my friends, uh, and
- 12:53Speaker 1: some of our co workers and people are employed, just
- 12:55Speaker 1: telling them that, you know, there's no set time when
- 12:58Speaker 1: you realize that, hey, I can be and I can
- 13:00Speaker 1: push myself forward and I can stand for my brand,
- 13:04Speaker 1: stand for what I believe because there are so many
- 13:06Speaker 1: people out there. And I will tell you just because
- 13:08Speaker 1: your your relatives love you don't mean they give you
- 13:11Speaker 1: the best advice. And so when I say that you
- 13:14Speaker 1: know cat about you? You know, like I said, you
- 13:18Speaker 1: was going to school major in the math, and we
- 13:20Speaker 1: we joke about how you started uh tattooing in college?
- 13:25Speaker 1: You know, you know, you know, just do just let
- 13:27Speaker 1: you do it and it came out perfect and then
- 13:30Speaker 1: it just and then then the Chicago show and then
- 13:34Speaker 1: that then then the transition from that. What made what
- 13:37Speaker 1: what makes you believe in Cat Cat the brand? You know,
- 13:41Speaker 1: your brand? What makes you believe in your brand? Um?
- 13:45Speaker 1: You know, that's a great question. I think that UM.
- 13:50Speaker 1: I guess it does always start with UM at home,
- 13:54Speaker 1: like with what's your family? You know, in your support system.
- 13:57Speaker 1: I can't say that I would have believed in myself
- 14:01Speaker 1: as much if I had a family, you know who
- 14:04Speaker 1: was like knocking me down or not believing me. But
- 14:07Speaker 1: even when I was in that hardest one of the
- 14:09Speaker 1: hardest transitions in my life, dropping out of school, to
- 14:13Speaker 1: have that support, um from my family, you know, believing
- 14:16Speaker 1: in my dream and just always constantly pushing me. And
- 14:19Speaker 1: I remember my brother, uh, you know, going to the
- 14:22Speaker 1: library and running me books on tattooing and just constantly
- 14:25Speaker 1: pushing me and pushing me. So it's it's just always
- 14:28Speaker 1: been instilled in me that that I can do it.
- 14:30Speaker 1: It was never a doubt in my mind that I
- 14:33Speaker 1: can make it. UM. So I think it's just that
- 14:37Speaker 1: that resilience, that belief in yourself, that um that keeps
- 14:42Speaker 1: me just pushing and always just striving to be great.
- 14:46Speaker 1: You know this is really interesting because of the fact
- 14:48Speaker 1: that you know, I I'm always finding my voice. I'm
- 14:52Speaker 1: always trying to because you know where I can war
- 14:53Speaker 1: winning baker managed talent, I produce TV shows, I'll produce
- 14:59Speaker 1: live advance, and so it's always trying to figure out, Okay,
- 15:03Speaker 1: who is Roshan McDonald. And so I asked you this question,
- 15:08Speaker 1: who is Catach? Who is Katrina Jackson? Um? You know what,
- 15:14Speaker 1: It's funny because I just did a post about this, right, Um,
- 15:18Speaker 1: about how this this last year has like turned me
- 15:22Speaker 1: into a businesswoman, Like I have to handle my business,
- 15:25Speaker 1: I have so many responsibilities. But what he's gotten me
- 15:29Speaker 1: to where I am is the little kid in me,
- 15:32Speaker 1: like that that creative spirit that um, that girl that
- 15:37Speaker 1: just can feel like a feeling, you know, like that
- 15:40Speaker 1: that instinct is you know, like the Holy Spirit like
- 15:43Speaker 1: talking to you. So I think that, Um, I'm an
- 15:45Speaker 1: artist at hard I'm a hard worker. I'm loving you
- 15:50Speaker 1: know girl, Um just yeah, you know, and and and
- 15:57Speaker 1: I'd say that because of the fact that you are,
- 16:00Speaker 1: you know, and everything I say to you, cat is
- 16:03Speaker 1: complimentary because I get to see so many different sides
- 16:07Speaker 1: of you, and I get to see you know, you know,
- 16:09Speaker 1: you say you're a beautiful young lady, and then you know,
- 16:11Speaker 1: and and you are fighting the world where when you're
- 16:14Speaker 1: walking a room because you're beauty, people can kind of
- 16:16Speaker 1: insultantly think that that's all you are. And you have
- 16:19Speaker 1: to fight through that as a businesswoman, you know, and
- 16:22Speaker 1: then or somebody want to mediately date you or try
- 16:25Speaker 1: to get with you, you gotta fight through that, you know,
- 16:28Speaker 1: And that's that's insulting because of the fact that you
- 16:31Speaker 1: are a businesswoman, like you said, and you're and you
- 16:34Speaker 1: have a brand that you're protecting, that you're growing and
- 16:37Speaker 1: needs to be respected. And then to say that you're
- 16:40Speaker 1: tying yourself with the NFL just the third year. That
- 16:44Speaker 1: is important, my friend, that you don't walk away and
- 16:47Speaker 1: you don't you don't, you don't lowly promote that this
- 16:50Speaker 1: is the this is the most recognized brand and television
- 16:53Speaker 1: is the NFL, because the NFL attracts everybody, kids, adults,
- 16:58Speaker 1: all sexual genders, you know, or every black, white, Hispanic,
- 17:02Speaker 1: you know, everybody watches football. And to say that you
- 17:04Speaker 1: are in their third year, promote that don't don't sit
- 17:08Speaker 1: on that that's powerful. And the fact that you're going
- 17:10Speaker 1: back to change the lines of kids. Promote that that's
- 17:14Speaker 1: a powerful moment in your life because of the fact
- 17:16Speaker 1: that your brand, it's very special. So now you're gonna
- 17:20Speaker 1: take that brand, take another and bet on yourself again.
- 17:23Speaker 1: The reality TV show New Location Las Vegas. Yes me
- 17:31Speaker 1: about that. You know you at least list like, I
- 17:34Speaker 1: know we don't have that type of relationship, cat, but
- 17:36Speaker 1: you can like drop a d M on the brother.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Hey man, I'm about to do my next show. Uh
- 17:40Speaker 1: we shot on any advice. You know, I know you
- 17:42Speaker 1: all world, I know you. I know you're in built grands,
- 17:44Speaker 1: you build global regular people and and I just see
- 17:48Speaker 1: what you do. I drop it for free because you're
- 17:51Speaker 1: my cow. Okay know that. Okay, if you ever start,
- 17:55Speaker 1: you call your boy. Okay. This is what I do.
- 17:57Speaker 1: This is what I created, money making conversation. It's a mentorship.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I can't touch everybody, but I do touch the people
- 18:02Speaker 1: who want to listen to what I got to say,
- 18:04Speaker 1: and what I had to say works and you win
- 18:07Speaker 1: with it. So tell us about this show, yea. So,
- 18:09Speaker 1: so I'm looking to expand Enigma. The first year in
- 18:13Speaker 1: Los Angeles has been great, and um, I just feel
- 18:16Speaker 1: that Las Vegas would be the perfect city to go to.
- 18:19Speaker 1: So we're working on opening up a shop in one
- 18:22Speaker 1: of the luxury hotels in Las Vegas while documenting um,
- 18:27Speaker 1: the struggles and the the successes of being just a
- 18:32Speaker 1: young black woman business owner. I'm looking to expand and
- 18:36Speaker 1: just really being transparent and showing UM from start to finish.
- 18:41Speaker 1: You know, So I walked away from Black in Chicago.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I opened up you know, Enigma Beverly Hills on my own,
- 18:48Speaker 1: and UM, you know, people got to see a little
- 18:51Speaker 1: bit of it on social media and where I put
- 18:53Speaker 1: out there, but Vegas, it's time to go back to
- 18:56Speaker 1: the TV screen. So we're looking to UM, you know,
- 18:59Speaker 1: document the entire process show people. We don't want to
- 19:02Speaker 1: hide anything. We want people to see UM from start
- 19:05Speaker 1: to finish, you know, and really take people along on
- 19:07Speaker 1: the journey UM of making this dream come true. So
- 19:11Speaker 1: let me ask you. The show has been picked up
- 19:12Speaker 1: on the network. We're working with different production companies now,
- 19:16Speaker 1: so it was a bit of a hum a process
- 19:20Speaker 1: getting completely released from block in Chicago and now we're
- 19:25Speaker 1: in talkic other companies. Yeah, that's why didn't mess with
- 19:27Speaker 1: you because I know, you know, because you're still in
- 19:29Speaker 1: the same plane. You're competing now, you know. So that's yeah,
- 19:32Speaker 1: that's you know, they who they let go. It's really
- 19:35Speaker 1: interesting you sign these contracts, you know, they put a
- 19:37Speaker 1: time a time limit on you, or they say you
- 19:41Speaker 1: can't you do TV. You do sports, you know you do,
- 19:45Speaker 1: but you can't do a tattoo show and right right right,
- 19:48Speaker 1: And it's really really crazy because that's why they hired you,
- 19:52Speaker 1: that's what brought you off. But then there stop you
- 19:54Speaker 1: from making money off your livelihood. So watching these contracts
- 19:57Speaker 1: are really important, and being able to get yourself out
- 20:00Speaker 1: of them is equally important because in the end, you know,
- 20:03Speaker 1: God gave you this talent, they hired, they benefited. I'm
- 20:07Speaker 1: just talking to everybody in general because it's I've seen
- 20:10Speaker 1: many contracts like this, and I have many contracts conversations
- 20:13Speaker 1: with talent who who just excited to get into business,
- 20:16Speaker 1: so they signed these contracts not looking at the fine details.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Did really want to pay money for? A lawyer? Trusted
- 20:22Speaker 1: the person sit across the other table, other side of
- 20:24Speaker 1: the table, not realizing that person just wanted to get
- 20:26Speaker 1: something to benefit them personally, and use your talent to
- 20:30Speaker 1: benefit them personally. And so now now you you were
- 20:33Speaker 1: the production company, you're out there documenting what is when
- 20:36Speaker 1: you I like the fact that you're saying you really
- 20:39Speaker 1: want to show the the painful side of the growth side,
- 20:43Speaker 1: because I remember when I opened my comedy club and
- 20:46Speaker 1: in Houston, Texas, hip hop common stuff. Lawd knows. I
- 20:49Speaker 1: had the camera follow me around because I didn't know nothing.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I didn't know how to hire people, how hired family
- 20:54Speaker 1: members who didn't want to work. You know, I did
- 20:56Speaker 1: all the stakes. And so now you're going to Las Vegas.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Now that's already the title sense city. How do you
- 21:04Speaker 1: control your brand? Because now we're talking about your brand now, Catta,
- 21:08Speaker 1: you know you protected it, You've grown it in Beverly Hills.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Now you're going to Las Vegas. I love that you're
- 21:13Speaker 1: saying you're going into a luxury spot, hotel spot, which
- 21:16Speaker 1: I think it's very smart. What's the future, what's the future. Well,
- 21:21Speaker 1: why do you want to get back When I say
- 21:23Speaker 1: what the future? Why do you want to get back
- 21:25Speaker 1: on tv UM? Because I think that I can have
- 21:30Speaker 1: an impact. Um One, I enjoy it, but to UM,
- 21:35Speaker 1: I'm very relatable. I'm super relatable. And the the reaction
- 21:42Speaker 1: and the response that I get from the viewers, my
- 21:45Speaker 1: viewers and my following, and the feedback that they give
- 21:49Speaker 1: me about how me being that transparent helps them it,
- 21:54Speaker 1: that's another thing that's just you know, I like because
- 21:57Speaker 1: you don't have that many people who are that relatable
- 22:02Speaker 1: and also willing to be super transparent, you know. And
- 22:06Speaker 1: I feel like the world needs that. I feel like
- 22:07Speaker 1: the entertainment industry and television cable needs that. You know,
- 22:11Speaker 1: I'm a young woman out here trying to get it.
- 22:13Speaker 1: You know what I'm single, Um, you know what I mean,
- 22:16Speaker 1: And and there's I just feel like there's a lot
- 22:19Speaker 1: of lessons that I'm that I've gone through and that
- 22:22Speaker 1: I'm going to continue to go through and make it
- 22:25Speaker 1: out on top that if other women or young men
- 22:29Speaker 1: or anybody can see and you know, have have hope
- 22:33Speaker 1: and you know know that there is um the other
- 22:36Speaker 1: side of those things. I went through some stuff on television.
- 22:39Speaker 1: You know what people might have like given up one. Well,
- 22:43Speaker 1: you know what I mean, you are You are an inspiration.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Like I said, uh I I've enjoyed and I would
- 22:48Speaker 1: continue to enjoy watching your growth. That's a cool thing
- 22:51Speaker 1: about social media. You can just see people an individual,
- 22:54Speaker 1: an individual trans you know, transcend, you start changing, start
- 22:58Speaker 1: elevating and and and comfortable within their skin. And you
- 23:02Speaker 1: do have a brand that's really really unique and very special.
- 23:05Speaker 1: And I'm talking to mcgaraka tree to Kattat Jackson. She's
- 23:09Speaker 1: the owner of a Enigma tattoo and Beverly Hills, which
- 23:14Speaker 1: is right there on the corner of Robertson and Pico
- 23:17Speaker 1: right there, and uh, I want to know she's doing
- 23:20Speaker 1: a great event. Third year with the National Football League
- 23:24Speaker 1: Players Association Painting with the pros again. I always want
- 23:27Speaker 1: to appreciate you taking the time to be on my show.
- 23:29Speaker 1: But know this, it's our third year talking you know,
- 23:32Speaker 1: off air. I'll promote anything for you. You not have
- 23:36Speaker 1: not used me because I just want to let you
- 23:38Speaker 1: know a lot of people understand why I created money
- 23:40Speaker 1: making conversation. Money making conversation is I know my brand
- 23:44Speaker 1: and I know my brand grows just a certain I
- 23:47Speaker 1: reached females of my follows a female, So no, I'm
- 23:50Speaker 1: reaching the target that you there will be rare relatable
- 23:53Speaker 1: to you. And so always use me in a good
- 23:56Speaker 1: way to help build your brand. And if you ever
- 23:57Speaker 1: need any advice, always hook up calls somebody that they're
- 24:01Speaker 1: connect me because you got access to me like that. Okay,
- 24:03Speaker 1: catch absolutely, I appreciate that. And look, we got to
- 24:07Speaker 1: make a promise to each other. When you're in l A,
- 24:09Speaker 1: you better come. And when I'm in Atlanta, I'm stopping by.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Promise done deal, And you might see me in Miami,
- 24:16Speaker 1: so I know it's because Steven and Smith talking about
- 24:18Speaker 1: he's going down there, so you might and not know
- 24:19Speaker 1: what I know. And I know the president of the
- 24:22Speaker 1: Players Association. I know I would ask him so he'd
- 24:24Speaker 1: get me in on anything I need. And that guy
- 24:27Speaker 1: Troy Evincing, he's the vice president of operations. I know
