- 0:00Speaker 1: My next guest has a passion too for faith, family,
- 0:03Speaker 1: and fitness, and he tries to incorporate all three aspects
- 0:07Speaker 1: in his daily work as well. He's a two time
- 0:09Speaker 1: Emmy nominated actor, writer and producer. Helen from the windy
- 0:13Speaker 1: City of Chicago, one of my favorite cities during the summer.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Let y'all know I lived in Chicago four years. I
- 0:22Speaker 1: have clothes and I bought up that I cannot wear
- 0:24Speaker 1: anywhere else because I was up there in February March
- 0:29Speaker 1: cold days. He is also the spokesperson for the Black
- 0:33Speaker 1: College Expo, which provides numerous scholarships for students throughout the year.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Please work with them moneymaking conversations. My man, cal Mitchell,
- 0:41Speaker 1: hell last Kale. I'm gonna way back to Steve Harvey sitcom. Sitcom.
- 0:52Speaker 1: That's way back what I'm saying. There was on the
- 0:54Speaker 1: show doing a guest appearance. Him and the boy King
- 0:56Speaker 1: was on the show doing appear and every thing I
- 0:59Speaker 1: remember about him man first of all polite. Secondly, uh
- 1:04Speaker 1: just naturally gifted and we was on the sideline just
- 1:07Speaker 1: naturally funny. It's just and I always felt that he
- 1:10Speaker 1: knew he was talented, but didn't know how to wrap
- 1:12Speaker 1: all you know, I said, wrap your arms around all
- 1:15Speaker 1: that talent and and and I always knew that that
- 1:18Speaker 1: that if he ever figures it out, which he has
- 1:20Speaker 1: figured out throughout this creer, you don't have a cret
- 1:22Speaker 1: a loan not figured it out. But when you look
- 1:24Speaker 1: at him as a as a talent, and and and
- 1:26Speaker 1: and the and the journey is taken. And seeing it
- 1:28Speaker 1: when I first met him on Steve Show, and and
- 1:31Speaker 1: and and watching the growth of him. Well, we're uh
- 1:34Speaker 1: the journey, and we're gonna talk about the good Burger.
- 1:36Speaker 1: We'll talk about everything, brother, Okay, because that pop up.
- 1:40Speaker 1: He's the funny thing about the I'm getting out a lot.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Welcome to my man conversation, my man, cal Mitchell. Hey,
- 1:48Speaker 1: thank you for having me. Oh man, I'm excited to
- 1:51Speaker 1: be here. Well, you know, I'm excited too, because I'm
- 1:54Speaker 1: about to jump full five questions to get the good Burger.
- 1:58Speaker 1: And uh, because I'll be because I'm I'm going to
- 2:00Speaker 1: Jamaica and when I come back from Jamaica, I'll be
- 2:03Speaker 1: at l A July seven. Okay, Now, the good Burger
- 2:09Speaker 1: pop up right, yes, it is. Tell me about the
- 2:15Speaker 1: good Burger, which is a takeoff of the movie Good Burger. Correct. Yeah, man,
- 2:21Speaker 1: So with this, it was so many people love Good Burger,
- 2:27Speaker 1: and you know, wherever I go, people want me to
- 2:30Speaker 1: do the tagline. They stopped me in red lights all
- 2:33Speaker 1: the time. And uh, it was so funny. Me and
- 2:35Speaker 1: my wife, we're talking about, man, we need to open
- 2:37Speaker 1: up a pop up restaurant. But you know we would
- 2:39Speaker 1: have to, you know, get a chef and cook it
- 2:41Speaker 1: ourselves and figure out how to do it. And uh
- 2:44Speaker 1: it's this. Uh it was this pop up restaurant called
- 2:47Speaker 1: Saved by the Max that had opened up. They were
- 2:50Speaker 1: in Chicago and then they were in Los Angeles and
- 2:53Speaker 1: had amazing success. So we went to go check this
- 2:57Speaker 1: out and I met the owners up there and Derek Barry,
- 3:00Speaker 1: amazing guy, and I'm like, look, we need to partner
- 3:03Speaker 1: up and do a Good Burger pop up. And uh
- 3:05Speaker 1: we talked about it, like about the design, what type
- 3:08Speaker 1: of food we're gonna have in there, man, And so, uh, man,
- 3:11Speaker 1: we're opening up our own restaurant, pop up restaurant. It's
- 3:14Speaker 1: happening in July tenth. Uh, it would be there for
- 3:17Speaker 1: six months. We're hoping it would be there even longer.
- 3:20Speaker 1: But yeah, and then in the beauty about to pop
- 3:22Speaker 1: up is I can take it from city to city.
- 3:23Speaker 1: So we're super super excited about this man, and the
- 3:28Speaker 1: response has been amazing. Well, you know, no kill, I
- 3:33Speaker 1: said you a lot tenth because I'm not gonna stand
- 3:35Speaker 1: in a lot that line gonna be crazy. I'm just
- 3:38Speaker 1: you got active back back down, back knocking on no
- 3:43Speaker 1: back doe back note back do. Oh, it's the old
- 3:46Speaker 1: guy back there. Thought about you know you call does
- 3:48Speaker 1: every show? Yeah, bring him on in there. Now, let's
- 3:51Speaker 1: talk about that menu. Come okay, let's talk about that
- 3:53Speaker 1: menu because I would teaching them. Tell you about Rashan mcconne.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Two things. I love pizzas. I love pizza or I
- 3:59Speaker 1: love pizza and I love hamburgers all my goodness, I
- 4:03Speaker 1: love hamburgers and French fries and French frigs. You gotta
- 4:07Speaker 1: have me, Yeah, you gotta have fries with your burger.
- 4:11Speaker 1: To talk about that menu, all you're doing shakes, That's
- 4:14Speaker 1: that's the killer. If you're doing shakes, I'm gonna be standing.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I'm an knock some people outlive. You're doing shake, I'm
- 4:18Speaker 1: gonna come through the front window. What we're doing we're
- 4:22Speaker 1: doing fries, we're doing shakes. The cool thing about good burgers,
- 4:26Speaker 1: everything is good. So we say good state, good fries,
- 4:30Speaker 1: and uh so we're definitely gonna have that. And you know,
- 4:32Speaker 1: because we got our vegan options, so you're gonna have
- 4:35Speaker 1: the vegan burgers too. I'm gonna tell you some. I'm
- 4:39Speaker 1: gonna tall something. Everybody in the room, them o producers,
- 4:42Speaker 1: they looked at me when I'm with vegan. But I
- 4:44Speaker 1: ate a black bean burger. Yep, I was. I was stuck.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I was, I'm gonna it was. It's the funny thing.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I went to UM. I was at UM this restaurant
- 4:56Speaker 1: and I miss ordered, I'm gona tell you, And it
- 4:59Speaker 1: was a mushroom burger. See, I just thought, you know,
- 5:03Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. I was a mushoot on
- 5:05Speaker 1: my burger. But it was just a giant mushroom in that.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And I would arguing what I wasn't looking at man,
- 5:11Speaker 1: where is my meat? Where is my meat? The guy said, certain,
- 5:16Speaker 1: you ordered it? I said, or didn't? No, I did not.
- 5:19Speaker 1: I did not ordered this burger right there, I wrote down.
- 5:22Speaker 1: My wife said, you know, she pulls something when I
- 5:24Speaker 1: get loud in public. Baby this man, you know, baby,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I don't need no burger like this and so and
- 5:34Speaker 1: so so. Now the black being burger, I can say,
- 5:37Speaker 1: I am a guy who understands the value of being
- 5:40Speaker 1: a vegan. Yeah, but back then when I ordered that
- 5:43Speaker 1: mushroom burger with no meat, your ball was struggling. Call,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I was struggling. I was struggling. You know, it's it's
- 5:51Speaker 1: all about the flavor, man. And you know how they
- 5:53Speaker 1: season it that it's all about that man. Well, you
- 5:55Speaker 1: don't even you don't even miss the meet. If they
- 5:57Speaker 1: do it right, if they're do it right, they're do
- 5:59Speaker 1: it right. Just so, so, how much were you involved
- 6:02Speaker 1: in the whole process, because this talking from an entrepreneur standpoint,
- 6:06Speaker 1: that you you had to get involved in this and
- 6:08Speaker 1: just to just slap your name and your association with
- 6:11Speaker 1: this process. Correct, Yeah, yeah, yeah with uh Derek Berry,
- 6:16Speaker 1: we talked about it. Uh talked about it a lot.
- 6:18Speaker 1: You know. Of course, the burgers had to be good,
- 6:20Speaker 1: the mall had to be good. And the cool thing
- 6:22Speaker 1: about it is that I went to say by the
- 6:24Speaker 1: Max a couple of times, a few times, just to
- 6:26Speaker 1: make sure to see how they were doing it when
- 6:29Speaker 1: they did it with say, by the Bell, so I
- 6:31Speaker 1: wanted to see the atmosphere and see how that work.
- 6:34Speaker 1: And they were very successful with doing that. I mean,
- 6:36Speaker 1: they were only supposed to be in Chicago for a
- 6:38Speaker 1: few months and ended up being two years. So uh
- 6:41Speaker 1: and then they did the same thing in Los Angeles,
- 6:43Speaker 1: and so I knew that this would be amazing for
- 6:48Speaker 1: uh Nickelodeon. And so from there when I saw it,
- 6:51Speaker 1: I was like, Okay, let me take it over to Nickelodeon,
- 6:53Speaker 1: get the licensing deal, let's make everything happened. And UH
- 6:56Speaker 1: Nickelodeon was like, I can't believe we didn't think it is.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I was like, hey, that's why I brought it in.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Looking around the room up now I'm bringing this idea.
- 7:08Speaker 1: This is me, this is me. I'm not this is
- 7:11Speaker 1: me exactly man. And so I've just been excited about
- 7:16Speaker 1: it and it's it's it's awesome to have some ownership
- 7:18Speaker 1: in it, uh into partner up with some amazing folks,
- 7:21Speaker 1: and uh into partner up the Nickelodeon as well, and
- 7:24Speaker 1: it's just been it's been awesome. I'm excited and I'm
- 7:26Speaker 1: excited about the response because everyone we tell it too.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I mean the smile that comes over their faces. Because
- 7:32Speaker 1: when you walk into this place like you're when you
- 7:34Speaker 1: walk in, it's literally gonna be good Birgers. But when
- 7:37Speaker 1: you walk in, it's going to look like you're of
- 7:41Speaker 1: good birth. Behind that counter of looking crazy, you know,
- 7:45Speaker 1: looking burgers wrong, I'm good. Just stand over the autograph,
- 7:48Speaker 1: take pictures. If you're behind that count, I'm gonna question
- 7:50Speaker 1: everything back then, you know that right, Well, no, we
- 7:56Speaker 1: we haven't. We have our employees there you go, but
- 8:00Speaker 1: you know, I might, I might have to come there
- 8:02Speaker 1: and you know, fun, I'm not gonna be cooking though, Burden.
- 8:06Speaker 1: That's the beauty of this conversation that we're having from
- 8:09Speaker 1: watching you grow. And that's what I was just saying
- 8:11Speaker 1: when I first saw your way back then, you know,
- 8:13Speaker 1: just understanding the entrepreneurship side of you, your brand, and
- 8:17Speaker 1: you know you've done independent movies and all that stuff,
- 8:19Speaker 1: and now you made a full circle you come back
- 8:21Speaker 1: to Nickelodeon all that. Yes, yeah, come on man, and
- 8:28Speaker 1: that that that to to be able to walk back
- 8:31Speaker 1: come back home like that, and to be an executive producer,
- 8:34Speaker 1: that had to have an emotional reaction to uh it
- 8:39Speaker 1: totally did. Man, it totally did. And the thing about
- 8:43Speaker 1: it though, is that the process you talked about a
- 8:45Speaker 1: little bit about that with the intro that you did
- 8:48Speaker 1: right before. It's uh, humbling yourself because it's a lot
- 8:51Speaker 1: of a lot of actors that have done stuff from
- 8:54Speaker 1: the past, uh that they were very successful in and
- 8:57Speaker 1: they shut it and because they're like, well, I want
- 8:59Speaker 1: to do something different, I want to be this different
- 9:02Speaker 1: type of person. It's like, yeah, you can do other
- 9:04Speaker 1: things that are different, but don't shun your journey. Don't
- 9:06Speaker 1: shun what you did in the past that was very
- 9:09Speaker 1: successful because you don't know who's there now you know
- 9:13Speaker 1: the people and why they're like you. They could have
- 9:15Speaker 1: been a fan when they were younger. Now they're adults
- 9:17Speaker 1: and they're they're making the shots right now. So and
- 9:20Speaker 1: and just the fact that it was a blessing that
- 9:22Speaker 1: was given to you. So don't don't don't do that.
- 9:25Speaker 1: You don't know what doors can open. And really what
- 9:27Speaker 1: it was was that in this business, when you go
- 9:29Speaker 1: through ups and downs as an actor, you do get
- 9:32Speaker 1: to a point where it's like you start looking at
- 9:34Speaker 1: everybody else their journey and you say to yourself, why
- 9:38Speaker 1: are they getting those opportunities and why is this happening?
- 9:40Speaker 1: And then you start trying to uh duplicate them, but
- 9:44Speaker 1: then the problem with that is that you end up
- 9:47Speaker 1: just being some type of like for Gazzy or just
- 9:50Speaker 1: a copy and you need to you need to be yourself.
- 9:54Speaker 1: And what happened with me with with that is through
- 9:57Speaker 1: my faith. Through it's through to my faith and blowing
- 10:00Speaker 1: myself and really listening to the Holy Spirit on what
- 10:04Speaker 1: direction I should go in. And the reason why that
- 10:07Speaker 1: happened because, Uh, in my family, I look at everything
- 10:10Speaker 1: where the Lord is part of everything. So my business,
- 10:13Speaker 1: you know, my career, my family, everything, I take it
- 10:17Speaker 1: up to Press and I take it up to him.
- 10:19Speaker 1: And you know, faith without action is dead. You gotta
- 10:21Speaker 1: go after it. Once you get it, you gotta go
- 10:23Speaker 1: after it. And so, uh, it was just me really
- 10:26Speaker 1: humbling myself to say, you know, let me do this.
- 10:28Speaker 1: And it was an opportunity a while back that came
- 10:31Speaker 1: up with just me guest starring on my old shows
- 10:34Speaker 1: from Nickelodeon. It was just like a guest star role
- 10:37Speaker 1: for a new Nickelodeon show and I just did that.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I just did it on you know and and of
- 10:43Speaker 1: course in the flesh, I was thinking, like, I mean,
- 10:45Speaker 1: anybody trying to go back to that end they making
- 10:47Speaker 1: me this and all, come on, man, please, But when
- 10:50Speaker 1: I did that, the amount of people that were so
- 10:53Speaker 1: excited just me being on this show, and that went
- 10:55Speaker 1: from me doing other things over there and this was
- 10:58Speaker 1: over you know, of course over some years, let's be
- 11:01Speaker 1: doing different, different things over there. And then all of
- 11:04Speaker 1: a sudden, I got my own show over there, which
- 11:07Speaker 1: was called Game Shakers, which was another show that I
- 11:10Speaker 1: did that introduced me to a whole new generation of
- 11:14Speaker 1: kids that like me for different reads. Didn't even look
- 11:17Speaker 1: at like good Burgers. Ain't know nothing about that all
- 11:22Speaker 1: that thought. Because we gonna come back to the next break,
- 11:24Speaker 1: because uh, you're inspired, my friend, and I'm so happy
- 11:27Speaker 1: for you, and we're gonna talk about the other shows,
- 11:30Speaker 1: the other projects that you're involved in. Mr. Good Burger's
- 11:32Speaker 1: back baby. Hi. This ra Sean McDonald and you're listening
- 11:36Speaker 1: to money making conversations on I'm interviewing. Um, I'm gonna
- 11:40Speaker 1: call my old friend and saw him a long time,
- 11:42Speaker 1: definitely hadn't talked to him in a long time before
- 11:45Speaker 1: the interview ended in at last break, he talked about
- 11:47Speaker 1: how you can get caught up and watching your peers
- 11:49Speaker 1: and your other other people who are who are somehow
- 11:52Speaker 1: at the same level of you, and a suddenly they
- 11:54Speaker 1: started just sprouting the different levels. And now I'm just
- 11:56Speaker 1: gonna give an example with Steve Harvey and I. We've
- 12:00Speaker 1: done that. We had all performed in the King of Comedy.
- 12:02Speaker 1: I had my little cameo in the back. Everybody knows
- 12:04Speaker 1: that I'm a cameo. I'm a cameo in Kings Comments.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Just watch it. I'm back there, Steve, give me his
- 12:09Speaker 1: kids and run on stage. You know, Yeah, just Cedric
- 12:14Speaker 1: going there. You had Bernie Mac Yeah, deal Hugley and
- 12:17Speaker 1: uh and so Steve and I decided to do a
- 12:20Speaker 1: radio deal, a big radio deal in Los Angeles, so
- 12:23Speaker 1: it felt like a local radio but we had a plan.
- 12:26Speaker 1: We knew what we was doing. We was trying to
- 12:28Speaker 1: We were taking control of his career so he didn't
- 12:30Speaker 1: have to worry about auditioning it for that audition and
- 12:32Speaker 1: that we had a regular check every week, and we
- 12:35Speaker 1: were in one of the hotter radio stage. But people
- 12:37Speaker 1: saw us as some way He's taking a step back
- 12:40Speaker 1: to everybody because at the time Cisor had the number
- 12:42Speaker 1: one commercial super Bowl commercial. You know, Bernie mac was
- 12:45Speaker 1: doing those all those all those movies with with George
- 12:50Speaker 1: Clooney and everybody there, Charlie's Angels and d L was
- 12:54Speaker 1: doing his thing here the sitcom and everything. So it
- 12:57Speaker 1: looked like we were we were falling back. But what
- 13:01Speaker 1: we couldn't do is act like we didn't have a plan.
- 13:04Speaker 1: And that's all he was saying. Sometimes you get so
- 13:06Speaker 1: caught up. Hey man, we better get a movie. We
- 13:09Speaker 1: better go do uh, we better go do it. I know,
- 13:11Speaker 1: like they offered the Soul plane and we said no.
- 13:13Speaker 1: M Jim, the president of m JIM came to us
- 13:15Speaker 1: said we want you, we want you to start a
- 13:18Speaker 1: sole plain Steve, and I looked at Jo, Nah, we
- 13:21Speaker 1: won't do so plain, you know, and so so opportunities
- 13:24Speaker 1: came my way and we said no to it. And
- 13:26Speaker 1: that's why you have to understand that you cannot jump
- 13:29Speaker 1: out there and let let the let other people dictate
- 13:32Speaker 1: your pace. And that's all he's saying. And when you dictate,
- 13:35Speaker 1: let other people dictate your pace. And who are you
- 13:38Speaker 1: what are you trying to do? What are you trying
- 13:40Speaker 1: to represent what is your brand? And if I stand
- 13:42Speaker 1: to this brand. And he also said something real quick,
- 13:45Speaker 1: he said I had to humble myself. And he said
- 13:47Speaker 1: something else, Man, I had the audition just a lot
- 13:50Speaker 1: of things you would do in life to be successful.
- 13:53Speaker 1: That you have to make the decision that it is
- 13:56Speaker 1: right for you and not worry about what somebody else thinks,
- 13:58Speaker 1: because in the end is a lot of great actors
- 14:01Speaker 1: and actors who have auditioned for stuff and guess what
- 14:05Speaker 1: have become Oscar winners have become a household names. Well, man,
- 14:09Speaker 1: that's why I do want to say that story, because
- 14:11Speaker 1: when you said it, I didn't want I didn't want
- 14:13Speaker 1: any listener or any fan that not understand what you
- 14:16Speaker 1: had just said. I just want to put another example
- 14:19Speaker 1: of somebody who's world famous right now because he held back.
- 14:23Speaker 1: We held back, and we made a decision not to
- 14:25Speaker 1: chase opportunity but stick with the plan. And that's what
- 14:28Speaker 1: you're doing. That's why that's why I put That's why
- 14:30Speaker 1: I talked about those three things that are that drive
- 14:32Speaker 1: you at the top. You know what I'm saying, Faith, family,
- 14:35Speaker 1: and fitness. Yep, yep, yeah, you gotta you. You gotta
- 14:40Speaker 1: know your brand and you gotta know who you are.
- 14:43Speaker 1: And the thing about it is that a lot of
- 14:45Speaker 1: celebrities get jaded, but you gotta know your annointing doesn't
- 14:48Speaker 1: go anywhere. Everybody's talented, everybody's annointed doesn't go anywhere. And
- 14:53Speaker 1: it's like when you were saying about harnessing the talent,
- 14:57Speaker 1: you gotta ask the Lord to show you, Okay, where,
- 15:00Speaker 1: why is this happening? Why am I here? So every
- 15:04Speaker 1: job that I look at, it's like, well, who can
- 15:05Speaker 1: I inspire? Who can I uh empower? Why am I
- 15:09Speaker 1: doing this? And what I found out that what in
- 15:12Speaker 1: the time that, uh, some of my peers were doing
- 15:14Speaker 1: some things that I might have wanted to do. Around
- 15:16Speaker 1: that time, the Lord was saying, no, I want you
- 15:19Speaker 1: to work within the church. So I became a stage
- 15:21Speaker 1: manager within the church. And then he said, okay, I
- 15:24Speaker 1: also want you to do work with the colleges and
- 15:27Speaker 1: you know, help with the scholarships, with the Black College
- 15:30Speaker 1: Expo and all those things were preparing me. And I
- 15:34Speaker 1: also started producing my own shows, you know, doing it independently,
- 15:37Speaker 1: writing my own shows, uh, putting out DVDs and movies.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I did a movie with stead of the entertainer where
- 15:44Speaker 1: uh it was independent film called Dance Fool and I
- 15:47Speaker 1: wrote the film and he directed it. But at the
- 15:49Speaker 1: time he didn't know. When I was doing those meetings,
- 15:52Speaker 1: I didn't have a car at the time, so I
- 15:54Speaker 1: would just make sure I would just have meetings where
- 15:56Speaker 1: I could walk from the crib, like walk over there.
- 16:00Speaker 1: All of this stuff was preparing preparing me, preparing me
- 16:04Speaker 1: and uh and and it's like with that faith, man,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I mean, what it did was is that I created
- 16:09Speaker 1: a uh, the Holy Spirit helped me create this this
- 16:13Speaker 1: generation of new generation of fans and their parents also
- 16:17Speaker 1: having being fans from the past, where that now it's
- 16:20Speaker 1: the entire family that is enjoying my projects. And it's
- 16:25Speaker 1: cool because people go like, why are you still working
- 16:27Speaker 1: in the family business and family entertainment. You should be
- 16:30Speaker 1: doing this, you should be doing this type of thing.
- 16:32Speaker 1: And it's like no, no, no, no, I know, I
- 16:34Speaker 1: know my brand, and it's like it's not a lot
- 16:37Speaker 1: of uh, just family entertainment that's out there. Like look,
- 16:40Speaker 1: I'm a father, and it's like someone has to be
- 16:44Speaker 1: in the family entertainment that are doing things that we
- 16:48Speaker 1: want our kids to see and I'm like, well, you
- 16:49Speaker 1: know what, let me do that. You know what I mean,
- 16:52Speaker 1: let me be let me be that person. And uh,
- 16:55Speaker 1: and I'm just going to continue to to work on
- 16:57Speaker 1: it because this is where the Lord has played me
- 17:00Speaker 1: and it's in such an awesome, awesome time. I mean
- 17:03Speaker 1: to be executive producing. Uh, you know the show that
- 17:07Speaker 1: I started on, these producers that I saw before, Now
- 17:13Speaker 1: I'm in the same room the same officers doing notes
- 17:16Speaker 1: with them. Uh. It's it's a real brother. I mean,
- 17:19Speaker 1: it just really shows you how faith works. It's really great.
- 17:23Speaker 1: And I look at you and I look at following
- 17:26Speaker 1: on social media and I know that you know Instagrams.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Has social media enabled you to build your brand? Control
- 17:35Speaker 1: your brain, be able to promote your brain? I know
- 17:38Speaker 1: when that Good Burger pop up come out, it's gonna
- 17:40Speaker 1: be all over your social media. So tell us about
- 17:43Speaker 1: the impact of social media on your brain's here's the
- 17:46Speaker 1: thing is awesome about social media. You can It gives
- 17:49Speaker 1: the opportunities for entertaining painters and business on this to
- 17:53Speaker 1: tell their stories oh instantly. So if anything is said
- 17:57Speaker 1: about you and you don't agree with it, media and
- 18:01Speaker 1: let people know immediately. That's what's kind of cool about it?
- 18:04Speaker 1: And then also too, uh all those followers that you have,
- 18:07Speaker 1: those are selves, those are selves branding. Uh. And with
- 18:12Speaker 1: me it was like, okay, I need to look at
- 18:15Speaker 1: what is my brand? And that's where the faith Sitting
- 18:17Speaker 1: family came from because I was looking at Damon from
- 18:21Speaker 1: US Shark Teak and he was saying, you've got to
- 18:24Speaker 1: have that branding like Nike, just do it. And so
- 18:27Speaker 1: I sat back and I said, okay, well what if
- 18:30Speaker 1: you think me? What do people see? And when you
- 18:33Speaker 1: look at my social what do they see? And I
- 18:35Speaker 1: was like, well, I like to work out. I love
- 18:37Speaker 1: my faith. I work within the church still when I'm
- 18:39Speaker 1: doing all this other stuff, and my family is important
- 18:42Speaker 1: to me. Faith Sitting it's a family. Okay. There it
- 18:45Speaker 1: is boom and when you when you when you find that,
- 18:49Speaker 1: then you can go, Okay, what business opportunities can I
- 18:52Speaker 1: put with that? How can I empower people with that?
- 18:55Speaker 1: What other avenues can I go with's in there? Because
- 18:58Speaker 1: you know, when you're creative person, you have so many
- 19:00Speaker 1: ideas coming at you all at once, and so it's
- 19:03Speaker 1: kind of hard to focus. So you go when you
- 19:05Speaker 1: can focus on Okay, this is the plan, and I'm
- 19:07Speaker 1: gonna walk in this plan. And then as you know,
- 19:10Speaker 1: the Lord puts you on the right plan because he
- 19:12Speaker 1: knows the plans for our future. So that really really helped,
- 19:15Speaker 1: and that's really what harnessed me and helped me to
- 19:17Speaker 1: stay focused and always having a good team. A good
- 19:21Speaker 1: team is very important too, but you have to have
- 19:23Speaker 1: that discernment and that's where your faith comes into discernment
- 19:26Speaker 1: on who to work with because some people that had
- 19:28Speaker 1: to let go. I had to let go a lot
- 19:30Speaker 1: of people that were that what I was working with
- 19:33Speaker 1: were in my life because I saw that, Okay, this
- 19:36Speaker 1: is why certain things are happening because I need to
- 19:40Speaker 1: go to a certain level and I can't take you
- 19:43Speaker 1: with me on that level. You're you're holding me back
- 19:45Speaker 1: from That's hard. That's hard. That's hard. It's very hard, hard,
- 19:50Speaker 1: very hard to meet that. I'm reminding everybody, Okay, all
- 19:53Speaker 1: that executive producer. Okay, it's on every Saturday at eight
- 19:59Speaker 1: pm Easter Standard time and Pacific time. And you know,
- 20:02Speaker 1: if it's that time, it's Simon's Central time. It's seven
- 20:05Speaker 1: thirty seven pm, seven thirty pm, and Social Standard time,
- 20:09Speaker 1: it's it's amazing when I when I look at the
- 20:11Speaker 1: happiness in your voice, I'm looking at I went to
- 20:14Speaker 1: Instagram and looked at you know, he got the good
- 20:16Speaker 1: Burger video of y'all. He got the good Burger. He's
- 20:18Speaker 1: selling that. He promoting that. His last post was all
- 20:23Speaker 1: that with the front missing too. Yeah, you gotta animation.
- 20:29Speaker 1: He got a call to character of good burg when
- 20:32Speaker 1: you're doing good. So you really are using that brand,
- 20:34Speaker 1: like you said, you really are taking advantage of audience
- 20:38Speaker 1: that believes in you, that follows you that and telling
- 20:41Speaker 1: them about your success in your family and your work out,
- 20:44Speaker 1: in your your whole process is being Oh, you know,
- 20:47Speaker 1: if there's a journey for all of us, Kale, were
- 20:50Speaker 1: are you heading that journey right now? You feel? You
- 20:52Speaker 1: sound great, man, You sound you sound like you're in control.
- 20:55Speaker 1: It sounds wonderful. Yeah, man, Yeah, it's a uh it's
- 21:00Speaker 1: it's a journey. Uh. And And what I want is
- 21:03Speaker 1: that when people go to my social media, I want
- 21:06Speaker 1: them to feel that, to feel that uh that that spirit,
- 21:10Speaker 1: it's the it's the Lord, you know what I mean.
- 21:12Speaker 1: So I want them to feel that and when they
- 21:14Speaker 1: come and see it, and and that's what it's all
- 21:16Speaker 1: about you know, and I feel that, uh, he sustained
- 21:20Speaker 1: me all these years, through through everything, you know what
- 21:23Speaker 1: I mean. And there's a lot of things that I learned.
- 21:25Speaker 1: And that's the cool thing about social media and what
- 21:27Speaker 1: you're doing too, is to share that. That's why testimonies
- 21:31Speaker 1: are so important, is to share that wisdom because so
- 21:33Speaker 1: many people are like banging their heads right now. I've
- 21:35Speaker 1: been there, like, Okay, what's what's my next step? Where
- 21:38Speaker 1: can I go? What can I do? And and and
- 21:41Speaker 1: it's it's funny like now when you look back, I go, oh,
- 21:45Speaker 1: this happened, so this can happen. This happened, so I
- 21:48Speaker 1: can learn from that. This happened, this fail you happened.
- 21:51Speaker 1: But I get it. If that didn't happen, I wouldn't
- 21:54Speaker 1: be where I'm I'm now. So it's like you learned
- 21:56Speaker 1: from every part of part of your life. I don't
- 21:59Speaker 1: I'm not up at it anything. If you can learn
- 22:02Speaker 1: from it, you can't be You're You're special, You're UH.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Your journey and UH and your continual success. It's tied
- 22:10Speaker 1: to the fact that you believe in yourself and you have.
- 22:13Speaker 1: You made a tough decision to say, these are the
- 22:15Speaker 1: people I believe support my values, that will get up
- 22:17Speaker 1: when I get up, that will feel my pain, will
- 22:20Speaker 1: will not have a discerning voice when I want to
- 22:22Speaker 1: make something that causes effort. You know, if you have
- 22:25Speaker 1: to put out the effort, you have to do something
- 22:27Speaker 1: different because a lot of people get a little padded.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Where I've been doing. It's been working for me, hold, Hold,
- 22:32Speaker 1: but it ain't working for me. That's the conversation. If
- 22:36Speaker 1: it did not working, I want to tell people. You
- 22:37Speaker 1: can't be the person said at your own party if
- 22:42Speaker 1: all the liquor gone, you never touched the drop. You
- 22:44Speaker 1: can't be that person. You can't go to all you
- 22:47Speaker 1: eat buffet and don't eat nothing you got. You gotta participate.
- 22:50Speaker 1: And that's all you're saying now. And kal man Uh,
- 22:54Speaker 1: I'm supporting you first of all. You know July tenth,
- 22:57Speaker 1: pop up l A the both Good Bag. If be
- 23:04Speaker 1: sad to check out my man all that. Executive producer
- 23:07Speaker 1: Cal Mitchell a brother A thirty Pacific Eastern seven thirty
- 23:11Speaker 1: Central Standard time. I'm so proud of you, man. Know
- 23:14Speaker 1: that I'll be supporting you on social media. Know that
- 23:16Speaker 1: I am a fan and I love you too. Death.
