Latest / The Lila Rose Show / Breaking: Planned Parenthood's Fate is Changing
Transcript
- 0:00Hey, everybody, welcome back to the Lila Rose Show.
- 0:02OK, things are heating up right now.
- 0:04There was a huge news article from the Wall Street Journal in
- 0:07just the last week announcing that President Trump's
- 0:11administration will be defunding Planned Parenthood of Title 10
- 0:16money. So let's break that down.
- 0:17What that means, That's a pocket of their $700 million they get
- 0:21from taxpayers. Also, there are going to be oral
- 0:24arguments at the Supreme Court about Planned Parenthood funding
- 0:27through Medicaid, another funding mechanism where they get
- 0:31hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars.
- 0:34And there was a bombshell report in the Free Beacon about Planned
- 0:38Parenthood boasting about being the #2 hormone provider in the
- 0:44country to those struggling with gender identity.
- 0:48A lot to unpack. We're also going to be talking
- 0:50with Christian Wagoner of the Alliance Defending Freedom about
- 0:53her take on all of this and so much more.
- 0:56So before we get into the Supreme Court case, it's always
- 0:58interesting to know what's going on with our Supreme Court and
- 1:01Planned Parenthood. I want to provide a little
- 1:02background here. You guys know, through my
- 1:04organization, Life Action, I have been investigating Planned
- 1:07Parenthood for almost 2 decades now.
- 1:08Yes, Planned Parenthood is the biggest abortion chain in the
- 1:11country. They're around 100 year old
- 1:14organization. They've really built a
- 1:16reputation over the last century of really embedding themselves
- 1:20in our school system, in our government.
- 1:23There are actors wearing Planned Parenthood pins that show up at
- 1:27the Oscars. I mean, this is a very ingrained
- 1:31corporation, and a lot of people don't even realize this, but
- 1:34Planned Parenthood is not planning parenthood.
- 1:37So they are not helping parents have their children, helping
- 1:42parents plan when they're going to have their children.
- 1:45They're not, you know, caring for the children or helping the
- 1:47parents care for the children. They're not teaching parents how
- 1:50to be parents. No, no, no, no, they're not
- 1:52planning parenthood. What Planned Parenthood does is
- 1:55they end parenthood. They are the biggest abortion
- 1:58chain in the country, ending the lives of 400,000 babies every
- 2:04single year. Now people say, well, that's not
- 2:06all that they do. People who defend Planned
- 2:07Parenthood, they don't just do abortions.
- 2:10Yeah, they might be the biggest abortion chain, but that's not
- 2:12all they do. They do all of these other
- 2:13things well. Interestingly, when you look at
- 2:16the latest annual report from Planned Parenthood, you will
- 2:19find that their overall services have declined, but what has
- 2:23increased over the last decade is their abortions and what is
- 2:27now their new service at Planned Parenthood.
- 2:30Besides abortion being a leading service, killing babies is.
- 2:34Guess what? You guessed it, Gender reforming
- 2:37care. They're really getting in on
- 2:39what I call the transgender ideology cult.
- 2:42I mean, it's really a cult infecting the minds of so many
- 2:45young people and just people at large who get confused about
- 2:48gender identity. They think, oh, now my body is
- 2:50the problem. I'm going to try to, you know,
- 2:53castrate myself, God forbid, or give myself a mastectomy if I,
- 2:57you know, feel like I'm the opposite gender and I have
- 2:59breasts. I'm a girl, but I think I'm a
- 3:00boy. And then also I'm going to take,
- 3:03I'm going to take hormones to try to be more look more like
- 3:07the other sex. This is particularly damaging
- 3:10when we're talking about young people who are prepubescent or
- 3:13going through puberty and they take puberty blockers, right?
- 3:17And this can forever affect their fertility, their ability
- 3:21to actually be their own sex, their God-given sex.
- 3:23They try to be the other sex, then they never develop fully
- 3:26sexually into mature men or women adults.
- 3:29So there's so many, so much to talk about here, guys.
- 3:32I mean, this is something that I'm very passionate about.
- 3:35We've had different D transitioners on the show or
- 3:37people have talked about this issue because so many people
- 3:39today are confused about their identity, confused about their
- 3:42gender, and then the culture is relentlessly telling them you
- 3:44are born in the wrong body. If you have an issue with your
- 3:47current sex, with the sex you've been given, then you must be the
- 3:50other gender. And guess who is pushing this
- 3:53agenda? Surprise, surprise, it's Planned
- 3:56Parenthood. Who says gender identity is
- 3:59really what you are? Decide you are.
- 4:02You can be anything you want. And guess what?
- 4:04You come to Planned Parenthood and after a 30 minute
- 4:07consultation at our Planned Parenthood facility, if you're a
- 4:1017 year old girl, we will give you hormones, we will help you
- 4:15transition. It's absolutely insane.
- 4:17And this Free Beacon article, we're going to pull that up
- 4:20here, really breaks down the experiences of some very young
- 4:23impressionable people who cross the threshold at Planned
- 4:26Parenthood and heartbreakingly received the last thing that
- 4:30they needed, which was to be put further at war with their bodies
- 4:34and told that yes, they they are not their God-given sex and yes,
- 4:38Planned Parenthood would help them transition.
- 4:41So they kill babies. Almost 400,000 babies a year at
- 4:44Planned Parenthood are killed and they're now the second
- 4:47largest provider of hormone drugs to people struggling with
- 4:53gender identity. I think that all of this needs
- 4:56to be understood within the context of we are funding them
- 5:01$700 million a year in taxpayer money.
- 5:04That's a ton of money, guys. And So what does this mean for
- 5:08the current Trump administration, for Doge, the
- 5:11Department of Government efficiency run by Elon Musk,
- 5:14who's trying to make all these cuts to USA, you know, cut this,
- 5:16cut that. Why haven't we cut fully Planned
- 5:20Parenthood yet? That is the big question that we
- 5:22are asking in this episode and we are unpacking in today's
- 5:25episode. Thrilled to have on Kristen
- 5:28Waggoner here from Alliance Defending Freedom.
- 5:30She's the general counsel as well as the president and CEOI
- 5:33need to brag on Kristen for a minute because she has argued 3
- 5:36cases before the Supreme Court of the United States and won all
- 5:39three. And now under her leadership at
- 5:41ADF, they are winning cases right and left.
- 5:43Kristen, thank you so much for joining the podcast.
- 5:46Well, thank you for being here. It's just such a fun opportunity
- 5:49to join you as I think we're in adjacent lanes and protecting
- 5:52life. Thank you for your work.
- 5:54It's so important. Obviously defending religious
- 5:56liberty, but really defending life.
- 5:58You do so much to defend life at Alliance, Defending Freedom.
- 6:01And I just have to say really quick, I think it's out 20 years
- 6:04ago when I first started doing any kind of national
- 6:06investigative work of Planned Parenthood, it was ADF.
- 6:09That was my first pro bono representation when Planned
- 6:12Parenthood tried to sue me. So thank you again to ADF, a big
- 6:16fan over here. Kristen, you've got a really.
- 6:18Big. We're big fans of all that
- 6:20you've done as well. Thank you.
- 6:22You've got a really big day coming up here.
- 6:24April 3rd is oral arguments before the Supreme Court for
- 6:29your case, Medina versus Planned Parenthood.
- 6:32This is very much in a crucial case with regard to the funding,
- 6:36the federal and taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood.
- 6:40Can you lay out for folks really quickly here, what is this case
- 6:44and what oral arguments are about to to look like?
- 6:47But first, a big thank you to our sponsor.
- 6:49I love Seven Weeks Coffee because they have the most
- 6:51delicious cups of coffee, but they're also on a mission to
- 6:55fund the pro-life movement, 1 cup of coffee at a time.
- 6:58And that's why they donate 10% of all of their sales, not just
- 7:02their profits, but their sales back to pregnancy resource
- 7:05centers to help moms and babies in need.
- 7:07And already 7 Weeks Coffee has donated over $800,000 to
- 7:12pregnancy resource centers. Now let me tell you about the
- 7:14coffee because I'm very picky about my coffee.
- 7:16Seven Weeks Coffee only uses the top one to 2% of beans in the
- 7:20world. They are mold free, shade grown,
- 7:23pesticide free, and organically farmed.

- 7:47Lila check out to get an additional 10% off for a full
- 7:5125% off your first order. Plus, you'll get your free gift.
- 7:55Sure. Well, the oral argument is
- 7:56actually April 2nd. We would love that extra day,
- 7:59but it's not available to us. So it's April 2nd for those who
- 8:04are going to be reading the newspapers.
- 8:06And you can also listen to the argument, which people should
- 8:08consider doing. But we will be able to stand
- 8:12before the court on behalf of the unborn and on behalf of
- 8:16women across the United States, but particularly in South
- 8:18Carolina, who are seeking to have comprehensive health care,
- 8:21which Planned Parenthood does not provide.
- 8:24Stepping back, it is looking at the Medicaid program, which is a
- 8:27federal program that essentially the federal government contracts
- 8:31with states to say we have this money, we want you to use it for
- 8:34these purposes. And they enter into a contract.
- 8:37And as a part of that contract, the states are allowed to decide
- 8:40who are the qualified providers to provide this comprehensive
- 8:44healthcare service. And South Carolina has made a
- 8:48choice that, first of all, it's public policy, says no taxpayer
- 8:52funds will go to abortion. And so it's made the decision
- 8:55that Planned Parenthood is not a qualified provider.
- 8:58A number of other states have made that same choice,
- 9:00particularly in the wake of all the scandals that we see
- 9:03involving Planned Parenthood. And so that's the issue that's
- 9:06before the court, is whether a state has the right to say we
- 9:10are not going to fund Planned Parenthood through taxpayer
- 9:13dollars. And I think it's also worth
- 9:15noting that Planned Parenthood is now the second largest
- 9:18provider of gender transition drugs that are extremely harmful
- 9:21and dangerous to individuals. So right now, basically you're
- 9:25defending South Carolina's right to say, of course we don't want
- 9:29to give money to Planned Parenthood.
- 9:31You know, they're pushing hormone drugs.
- 9:33They're this abortion chain. There's endless corruptions.
- 9:35I mean, we don't even, it would take a long time to get into
- 9:38that. You know, all the investigative
- 9:40reports on, I mean, even the New York Times is doing
- 9:42investigative reports on the shoddy activities and the
- 9:45negligence at Planned Parenthood facilities.
- 9:46Even the New York Times is doing that now.
- 9:48But you're, I mean, at the courts basically, you know,
- 9:52South Carolina, do they get to decide side who gets who's a
- 9:55trusted partner for women and families when it comes to
- 9:59ultimately taxpayer dollars? Absolutely.
- 10:02And I think that the statistics here are so important in making
- 10:05this argument. For example, there are roughly
- 10:07200 publicly funded health centers that are are wanting to
- 10:11serve women and do serve women in South Carolina.
- 10:13There's no shortage of healthcare centers, and they're
- 10:16providing many, many services. But in response, Planned
- 10:19Parenthood is not providing any of the types of services that
- 10:23most people think. I think it it's essentially
- 10:25spread misinformation about what it provides.
- 10:28And I think we also want to pay attention to the scandal that
- 10:31has taken place. You mentioned the New York Times
- 10:33article and I think that most Americans would be shocked to
- 10:37know that in the last five years alone, Planned Parenthood has
- 10:41received 3.2 billion with AB billion dollars of direct
- 10:46taxpayer funding on top of 500 million in just 2200, 2020 2
- 10:52alone a private funding. So we can talk about where that
- 10:55money went, but I can tell you much of it didn't go to
- 10:58providing healthcare to women. So here's a big question.
- 11:01A lot of people say, well, Planned Parenthood, you know,
- 11:03yes, they're the big, you know, they're the biggest abortion
- 11:05chain. You know, people say, OK, you
- 11:08know, that's just one thing that they do.
- 11:10And by the way, it's not like the taxpayer dollars are
- 11:13directly paying for the abortions.
- 11:16They're paying for these other services.
- 11:18And so that's why it's OK. It's not a big deal.
- 11:20What do you say to that? Well, I say there's a lot of
- 11:25examples I could give, but money is fungible.
- 11:27That's the bottom line. And if I am going to help you
- 11:31pay your rent with $1000 and then you use that money that you
- 11:35were going to pay for your rent for your vacation, I've paid for
- 11:37your vacation. Whatever label you put on the
- 11:40envelope, it's still the money that is exchanging hands.
- 11:43And I think what's exceptionally important to remember in this
- 11:47case is, again, money is fungible.
- 11:49South Carolina has the right to say we are not going to use
- 11:53taxpayer money to fund abortion and certainly not Planned
- 11:56Parenthood in the case where they have plenty of money, they
- 12:00have 2 1/2 billion dollars in net assets right now.
- 12:04Why are we using taxpayer money when they're not even helping in
- 12:08a substantial the way the women that are in need and not
- 12:11providing comprehensive care? It's so crazy.
- 12:13It's so crazy, Kristen, I, I, I mean you, you've got to win this
- 12:17one because you know a lot is riding on on this.
- 12:20So thank you. I couldn't think of a better
- 12:21group and a better person to lead this charge than you and
- 12:24ADF. But, you know, this is South
- 12:27Carolina. Obviously, you're litigating on
- 12:29behalf of here. And South Carolina is one state.
- 12:33There's 50 states. And then at the federal level
- 12:36right now, there is a push to defund Planned Parenthood.
- 12:38And, you know, there's an opportunity here, an opportunity
- 12:41of a lifetime, quite frankly, because we have a Trump
- 12:43administration that has indicated they want to cut
- 12:45government bloat. You know, there there is a doge,
- 12:49Elon Musk spearheading doge, cutting USAID, cutting this,
- 12:51cutting that. And then you have Congress,
- 12:54quite frankly, Speaker Mike Johnson, you know, really
- 12:56passionate pro-life advocate. We've got a majority in the
- 12:59House. We've got a majority.
- 13:01You know, they're still the filibuster, but we have a, you
- 13:02know, a bit of a lead in the Senate.
- 13:05So there's this opportunity now with, you know, 3 branches.
- 13:09You know, I've got the executive branch.
- 13:10We've got all of Congress where we could finally accomplish this
- 13:14goal of defunding the biggest abortion chain and now the
- 13:17second biggest hormone basically seller, you know, in the
- 13:21country. Are you hopeful about that
- 13:25project, that federal defund project?
- 13:27And then how is that going to be affected by this case that you
- 13:31have now the Supreme Court, which even gives the government
- 13:34the right, you know, if South Carolina in this case, the state
- 13:37the right to defund and not get blocked by some activist judge.
- 13:42Well, if you remember Lila, in 2017, the House and the Senate
- 13:45did vote to defund Parenthood. And I think it's important to
- 13:49remember how that happened. You were a vital part of it.
- 13:52CMP was a vital part of it, but it was exposing the corruption
- 13:55that was happening in Planned Parenthood.
- 13:57So in in one lane, there's the cultural advocates, the
- 14:00investigators, and the next lane we along with other life groups
- 14:03were going to Congress and saying here's the evidence
- 14:06producing reports before Congress.
- 14:08And for the first time ever, they voted to do that.
- 14:11But that was over by a veto and now we're poised to have that
- 14:15again. It would be exceptionable.
- 14:17It would be a moment in history. And regardless of even what you
- 14:20feel about abortion, which we know to be wrong and taking
- 14:23human life, it is about also government blow when you are
- 14:28having an organization. Planned Parenthood does not need
- 14:30American taxpayer dollars. There are other places we can
- 14:33put that. We also know, again, that that
- 14:36$899 million that they have received from private donors,
- 14:41much of that money was used for politicking and legal costs.
- 14:44It's not even going to the local healthcare centers.
- 14:47So we're excited about this moment.
- 14:50I also think that it is a unique moment in that, yes, in 2017, we
- 14:55heard about the negotiated sale of body parts by Planned
- 14:58Parenthood. We knew then about the sex abuse
- 15:01that they ignore, that they don't report.
- 15:04But even now in that New York Times article, they're
- 15:06continuing to reveal how women are being mistreated, even
- 15:09employees saying that they're a part of a conveyor belt.
- 15:12They're not. They're losing their lives as
- 15:14well as injuries. So this is the moment to stop
- 15:17this scandal and again, to provide real healthcare options
- 15:21to women. Just because you may be
- 15:23disadvantaged in a part of Medicaid doesn't mean you should
- 15:25receive a lesser standard of healthcare.
- 15:27And that's what Planned Parenthood provides.
- 15:29It's more about their own agenda than the women that they're
- 15:31serving. How did?
- 15:32It get to the place. If you could just speak to this.
- 15:34I mean, it's wild to me that Planned Parenthood has the
- 15:37influence that it has. I mean, it's spent 100 years
- 15:39building it, right? But that they are they've
- 15:42succeeded in getting, I mean, it's 700 million in taxpayer
- 15:46dollars in the last reported here, most of that from
- 15:48Medicaid. Can you just educate folks
- 15:50listening about that process? Like how is it that that is even
- 15:53the case that this one entity is getting that much money from
- 15:57taxpayers? And a big thank you to our next
- 15:59sponsor. everylife.com is America's pro-life baby diaper

- 16:48little one that is maybe potty training.

- 16:52with their new shampoo and baby wash and lotion package.
- 16:56The product is amazing. I have already started to use
- 16:59it. That's everylife.com slash.
- 17:01Use the code Lila. Well, I mean, I'm not an expert
- 17:04in how they built the empire, but what we do know is that they
- 17:07did build an empire and it's an abortion industry.
- 17:10And that those who are in Washington, DC, you know, there
- 17:13are lobbyists that are there, there are trade-offs that are
- 17:16made. And it truly is an industry.
- 17:19And I think that it's, it's time for our politicians to respond
- 17:24with courage. And again, I would emphasize,
- 17:27you know, I've heard some talk of, well, abortion's a hot topic
- 17:30right now. Maybe Congress shouldn't address
- 17:32it. There are so many different ways
- 17:34that you can get at this to demonstrate that it's wrong,
- 17:37including even the transition that, you know, Planned
- 17:41Parenthood peddling not just on adults but also on minors.
- 17:45In South Carolina, the same state that this case is in, they
- 17:48opposed a law that would stop cross sex hormones and puberty
- 17:52blockers. They called it outrageous.
- 17:53Why? Because they're, they're getting
- 17:55taxpayer money for it. And they're, I mean, they're the
- 17:58second largest healthcare provider that's doing this.
- 18:02So again, I can't speak to all the ways smart business.
- 18:06I think a lot of deception, but we need to take that down that
- 18:09brand and bring reality and truth into the public square.
- 18:12And first and foremost, that baby is a human and that baby
- 18:15deserves life. We can't fund abortion any
- 18:17longer. Kristen, what's your confidence
- 18:19level going into the oral arguments April 2nd?
- 18:23You know, I think that's when the time this airs.
- 18:25It's going to be tomorrow or just, you know, in the next day
- 18:27or two. And do you think that with the
- 18:30current Supreme Court that we have, you know, the Supreme
- 18:32Court that did overturn Roe V Wade, do you think you're going
- 18:35to succeed? Well, when we were on the team
- 18:40in overturning Roe versus Wade, I was much more afraid of that
- 18:43moment than this moment. And we're so pleased with that.
- 18:47The Supreme Court made the right decision based on the law and
- 18:50based on the constitutional text as well as history.
- 18:53And I have faith that they're going to do that again.
- 18:55And the law is on our side is an example.
- 18:58It's might seem a little esoteric, but the commerce or
- 19:02excuse me, the spending clause under the Constitution is the
- 19:04provision that the federal government uses to provide this
- 19:08program. And that spending class says
- 19:10that you can't create a right or an obligation on behalf of a
- 19:14state unless you make it exceptionally clear.
- 19:16And that hasn't happened here. So there are a lot of reasons
- 19:19that we should win this case, and we just need to pray and
- 19:22urge the Supreme Court to stand and also use the moment with our
- 19:26members of Congress and even our states to take action on this
- 19:30issue in this pivotal moment. Thank you, Kristen.
- 19:32Where can people follow ADF and the breaking news about what
- 19:36you're doing in this fight to defund Planned Parenthood?
- 19:40Well, they can go to adflegal.org and we are just
- 19:43privileged to be a part of an alliance along with you.
- 19:46And again, I think it just takes all of us to expose what's
- 19:50happening and to urge people to do the right thing in this
- 19:52moment. Amazing.
- 19:53Thank you so much, Kristen. Good luck.
- 19:56Thank you. So let's look really quickly
- 19:59here at the facts that most people may not be aware of about
- 20:02Planned Parenthood. Now, as I said earlier, I've
- 20:05been investigating this group for pretty much 20 years.
- 20:07We have white papers exposing the abuses at Planned
- 20:10Parenthood. Basically, this is the most
- 20:12corrupt and evil organization I believe, in human history simply
- 20:15because they kill almost 400,000 babies every single year.
- 20:19The numbers of children that they have killed, the lives of
- 20:22those children that they have ended, are in the millions upon
- 20:24millions. And now they're involved in,
- 20:26yes, promoting. Gender transitioning on young
- 20:30people, that's part of what they do.
- 20:32There is a sordid history in their sex education, sex
- 20:35education of young people, promoting sexual experimentation
- 20:39and promiscuity to young people. So there's so much that could we
- 20:41could unpack here. But what I want to draw your
- 20:44attention to is 2 investigative reports that actually came out,
- 20:47not from live action this time, from the New York Times,
- 20:50surprise, surprise, and from the Free Beacon.
- 20:52And I want you guys to be aware of this.
- 20:53Again, this just came out in the last month.
- 20:56So there's Planned Parenthood being reported on by the New
- 20:59York Times. Yeah, crazy here, guys.
- 21:01New York Times typically has been super pro Planned
- 21:04Parenthood. When when the New York Times is
- 21:06turning against you and you're like a left wing pro abort
- 21:09organization, then something must be really wrong here
- 21:12because you look at this article.
- 21:14The title of this investigative report from the NYT is Botched
- 21:17Care and Tired Staff. Planned Parenthood in Crisis.
- 21:20It goes on to talk about patients who went in for an
- 21:23abortion and they didn't actually complete the abortion
- 21:26at Planned Parenthood. So the baby is born, born at
- 21:29home and is born alive and then dies.
- 21:31I mean, heart wrenching. I mean, this is the murder of a
- 21:33baby. Absolutely heart wrenching,
- 21:35misplaced IU DS. So a woman goes in, she wants an
- 21:38IUD, a form of contraceptive, long acting contraceptive.
- 21:42The Planned Parenthood puts it in the wrong place.
- 21:44She gets pregnant staff that are not trained, dirty facilities.
- 21:49I mean, it lists these crazy stories.
- 21:51Again, this is from the New York Times.
- 21:53So you see this article coming out and keep in mind the context
- 21:56here. Planned Parenthood budget has
- 21:58gone up every single year. I mean, they're just raking in
- 22:00the dollars. They're raking in the federal
- 22:02funding dollars. They've increased their federal
- 22:05funds year over year, pretty much every year in the last
- 22:07decade. And their private dollars
- 22:09continuing to go up, they get more and more, you know,
- 22:13hundreds of millions of dollars in private foundations, private
- 22:16dollars. And then on top of that, guys,
- 22:18they charge many of their patients money in addition.
- 22:21So they have that funding stream.
- 22:23So they are rolling in the dough.
- 22:24In fact, they have $2.5 billion in assets.
- 22:29Assets means This is Money in the bank.
- 22:30These are the, the value of all the materials that you, you own
- 22:35the, the property you possess $2.5 billion.
- 22:38So New York Times crazy article here listing stories like this
- 22:43one about a woman named Nakara Allston.
- 22:46She was 8 weeks pregnant. She got an abortion at Planned
- 22:48Parenthood. It says she was bleeding
- 22:50heavily. Afterwards, she found out that
- 22:52she was still pregnant. The baby was still in her womb.
- 22:5612 weeks after the failed abortion, Miss Allston went into
- 23:00labor and delivered a baby who quickly died.
- 23:02I mean, when you read this, obviously, you know, it's, it's
- 23:05kind of presented to have you have empathy for Miss Allison.
- 23:09What about this precious baby, eight week old baby.
- 23:11They tried to murder it. Baby survived Planned
- 23:14Parenthood's botched abortion. And then she went into labor
- 23:17when the baby was almost 20 weeks old, almost old enough to
- 23:20survive outside the womb. And then now this baby is dead.
- 23:23I mean, it's just devastating, right?
- 23:25Then talks about this patient suing Planned Parenthood.
- 23:28So this article goes on and on. This, of course, was, you know,
- 23:32an incredible article for the New York Times to pen for them
- 23:34to do this investigative report. And a big thank you to our last
- 23:37sponsor today. Did you know that every year
- 23:40200,000 families go bankrupt from medical bills, even with
- 23:44health insurance? For many people, insurance is
- 23:47simply not working for them. That's why I'm excited to share
- 23:50with you about Crowd Health, which is an alternative model
- 23:53for paying for your healthcare. Crowd Health takes your bills
- 23:55personally, negotiates them on your behalf, and then sends out

- 24:01bills. The Crowd Health community has
- 24:03fully funded more than 5000 medical bills over the last two
- 24:06years. This includes accidents like a
- 24:08young woman in Tennessee who lost her fingers in a boating
- 24:11accident to NICU babies and cancer cases.
- 24:14Keep in mind, Crowd Health is not the same thing as insurance,
- 24:16but it is an alternative model to help pay medical bills and

- 24:28That's join Crowd Health dot com and use the code lilac check out
- 24:32to get your first three months for only $99.
- 24:35Join crowd health.com. This, of course, was, you know,
- 24:39an incredible article for the New York Times to pen for them
- 24:42to do this investigative report. But what really caught my eye
- 24:45was in the last two weeks, the Free Beacon doing their own
- 24:48report on Planned Parenthood. I want you guys to take a look
- 24:50at this because here's the deal. The current landscape is this.
- 24:53We've got the Trump administration, we've got doge.
- 24:56There's been a signal of, yes, we're going to cut government
- 24:59bloat. That's, you know, largely it
- 25:01sounds like a good idea, right? A lot of money seemingly has
- 25:04been cut. You know, federal layoffs,
- 25:06cutting USAID, other cuts that are being made.
- 25:10As of today, as of the day of the report of recording this
- 25:13late March, Planned Parenthood is still receiving all their
- 25:16federal funding. No cuts have been made to
- 25:18Planned Parenthood's domestic federal funding.
- 25:20Now, there is a report, like I said earlier from the Wall
- 25:23Street Journal, that it looks like the Trump administration is
- 25:25saying they're going to cut the Title 10 money.
- 25:27So that's one pocket of money, maybe 60 million Max, maybe 70
- 25:31million through HHS, Health and Human Services.
- 25:35So if they cut that, that's great, but you're still talking
- 25:38over $600 million, six, 100 million that taxpayers are
- 25:41funding still Planned Parenthood.
- 25:43So why is this still happening? You know, the Trump
- 25:46administration could stop this, right?
- 25:47So there's a lot of groups saying, hey, come on, Doge, come
- 25:50on Trump administration, this is a no brainer.
- 25:53You know, cut this money, cut these funds.
- 25:55Well, there has been some conjecture that well, one of the
- 25:59reasons this hasn't been a priority for President Donald
- 26:01Trump is because, you know, pro-life isn't his lead issue.
- 26:04You guys know, those that watch this podcast, you know, some of
- 26:07my criticisms last fall about the pro-life issue, I felt was
- 26:11being abandoned on many fronts back during the campaign.
- 26:13And so I was very concerned about that saying, you know,
- 26:16pro-life voters want to see pro-life leadership.
- 26:19That's what we want to see. That's what we want to vote for.
- 26:21And so obviously with Trump taking office, much more
- 26:24pro-life than someone like Kamala Harris.
- 26:26That's clear. It was very exciting when he
- 26:28pardoned the pro-life prisoners. You guys might remember that
- 26:31back in January, just within days of his inauguration.
- 26:34That was amazing. These are pro-life activists
- 26:36like Bevel and Williams, a hero of mine, who were praying
- 26:40outside abortion clinics, doing activism peacefully outside
- 26:43abortion clinics that were thrown in jail by the Biden
- 26:46administration. So that was great, right?
- 26:48But then the question is, will Trump defund Planned Parenthood
- 26:51or will Congress send a bill to defund Planned Parenthood to
- 26:56President Trump? Or will Congress, when they have
- 26:59to do a budget every year for the federal government, will
- 27:02they exclude Planned Parenthood from the federal budget that
- 27:05they then send to Trump to sign? Right.
- 27:07So these are all questions the Pearl Life community is asking.
- 27:10And the reason that this Free Beacon article exposing Planned
- 27:14Parenthood, pushing hormones on young people, I think it's so
- 27:19important is because even if President Trump is not aligned
- 27:22on abortion, on life, which I pray and hope he will be one
- 27:25day, and and, you know, fully be aligned on the importance of
- 27:28fighting abortion. The Trump administration has
- 27:31been very vocal and there have been a lot of actions from the
- 27:33Trump administration that criticize the promotion of
- 27:38transgender ideology. You might remember the big
- 27:40executive order that Trump signed, I think just a month
- 27:43ago. He had all these girls over to
- 27:45the Oval Office, went with for the signing who were in sports
- 27:49and who ended up having to compete against biological males
- 27:52in these sports. And he signed an executive order
- 27:54saying that no, a girl should not have to compete in sports
- 27:58against biological males. So basically protecting girls,
- 28:02biological females, girls in their sports.
- 28:04So there's been a lot of, I think action from the Trump
- 28:08administration and, you know, a posture of we're going to defend
- 28:13children really against the trans ideology.
- 28:15This idea that you can be born in the wrong body.
- 28:17This idea that you should, you know, take hormones or really
- 28:21castrate yourself or otherwise injury or mutilate your body.
- 28:25If you feel like you're born in the wrong body to try to look
- 28:27like the other person, look like the other sex.
- 28:30This seems to be the posture of the Trump administration.
- 28:32So that being said, this Free Beacon expose is particularly
- 28:35compelling because what it shows is that Planned Parenthood, who
- 28:39knows where the money is, who tries to follow the trend.
- 28:43They're not only increasing their abortion numbers, but
- 28:46Planned Parenthood has been increasing.
- 28:48They're handing out of hormones. That's their new business model.
- 28:53They're not just committing abortions, but they're now
- 28:55handing out gender transition care, gender therapies, hormone
- 29:00therapies, and they're making money off of that.
- 29:03So here's the title of this article.
- 29:04It says Planned Parenthood is helping teenagers transition.
- 29:07After a 30 minute consult, parents and doctors are sounding
- 29:11the alarm. The abortion provider is wading
- 29:13into transgender care, doling out prescriptions for estrogen
- 29:16and testosterone, including to special needs kids.
- 29:20It's so horrific when you think they kill the babies in the
- 29:23womb. And then if the children
- 29:25survive, you know, their abortion empire.
- 29:28They give them sexual mis education, you know, the, the,
- 29:31the trash that they try to teach young kids about sex is, is
- 29:34crazy. You know, sexually experiment,
- 29:36masturbate, I mean, really dark stuff to children, right?
- 29:38There's a social contagion today of people struggling with gender
- 29:41identity. Other kids see it.
- 29:43They think that that's cool, that that's what they should,
- 29:46you know, that that's what they're struggling with.
- 29:47Or maybe they have other issues. They have autism or depression
- 29:50or body dysphoria. They, they struggle with loving
- 29:53themselves or loving their own bodies.
- 29:55And so then they see, oh, well, then I might just be born in the
- 29:58wrong body. You know, Sally over there is
- 30:00doing this or this famous YouTube actors doing it.
- 30:03So that must mean that that was something I should consider.
- 30:06And Planned Parenthood is taking advantage.
- 30:08They're taking advantage of vulnerable teens here.
- 30:11So the article goes on to share some stories, and one of them is
- 30:15the story of this young man named Fred, who was diagnosed
- 30:18with autism as a young child, had behavioral issues, special
- 30:22needs. And he was this young man who
- 30:25then was, you know, questioning his gender identity.
- 30:29And Planned Parenthood is standing by to provide hormones
- 30:34for Fred, right? Similarly, they talk about
- 30:37another, you know, other young people in this article featuring
- 30:40other young people who themselves struggled with their
- 30:44gender identity. And Planned Parenthood, who's
- 30:46really good at building relationships in schools because
- 30:49that's their whole gig right there.
- 30:50Their business model is make young people trust them, get
- 30:54these young people to be sexually active often and then
- 30:57they come back for abortions. Or now a new business model is
- 30:59if they're struggling with gender identity, reinforce that
- 31:02struggle and give them hormones, right?
- 31:04The article reads. Planned Parenthood is one of the
- 31:06largest providers of cross sex hormones in the United States
- 31:09and one of the fastest growing affiliates in the greater
- 31:11Portland area. So this is Oregon saw nearly a
- 31:14400% increase in gender of forming care visits between 2021
- 31:19and 2022, according to their annual reports.
- 31:22They're seeing similar increases or even greater increases in
- 31:25states like even Ohio or in Tennessee.
- 31:28And Planned Parenthood is providing gender hormone
- 31:30treatments to teenagers. So these are very young people,
- 31:35very impressionable. And now they are, they are
- 31:38boasting that they are the fastest growing provider of
- 31:42cross sex hormones to vulnerable young people.
- 31:45In the story of Fred that I mentioned earlier, Fred
- 31:48literally went to Planned Parenthood and had a 30 minute
- 31:53evaluation ultimately and was prescribed cross sex hormones by
- 31:58Planned Parenthood after just 30 minutes.
- 32:01So these are incredibly powerful hormones that can dramatically
- 32:05affect your body, can affect your mental health too.
- 32:07It certainly can affect your development.
- 32:09And again, Fred, this young person received these hormones
- 32:14from Planned Parenthood, the, the, the prescription for them
- 32:16after a 30 minute evaluation. So obviously Planned Parenthood
- 32:19is not there to do mental health care.
- 32:21They're not psychiatrists. They're usually staffed by nurse
- 32:24practitioners. They're getting into this
- 32:26business to literally get into a business to make more money and
- 32:29to push their ideology. They're not actually caring for
- 32:31these young people. So here's the bottom line, guys.
- 32:33You just heard from Kristen Waggoner who is talking about
- 32:35this Supreme Court case that is ongoing.
- 32:38Really it's a question of can these States and, and can the
- 32:41government ultimately defund Planned Parenthood?
- 32:43Of course they should be able to.
- 32:44It's insane that we're even in the situation where there has to
- 32:47be court proceedings about this. But the reality is now is the
- 32:50time. This is a very special time, a
- 32:51special moment in history when we are closer to defunding
- 32:54Planned Parenthood then we have, I believe, ever been as a
- 32:56movement. The opportunity is to be for us.
- 32:59So I want to encourage every single person listening to do
- 33:01this. At the description below here,
- 33:03there is a link which will direct you to a defund Planned
- 33:07Parenthood petition that will help you send an e-mail to your
- 33:11member of Congress urging them to defund Planned Parenthood.
- 33:14I think your members of Congress, all of them need to
- 33:17hear from you. In addition, there's an
- 33:19opportunity if you sign up to receive action alerts from Live
- 33:22Action to actually do calls to your Congress members to urge
- 33:25them to defund Planned Parenthood.
- 33:27And as always, continuing to make your voices heard on social
- 33:31media is very powerful because the White House is looking at
- 33:34that. The White House is measuring.
- 33:35Does the grassroots care about defund?
- 33:37Is that what the people want? Of course the people want this.
- 33:41I believe it is possible to defund Planned Parenthood.
- 33:44And I believe ultimately they should be prosecuted and shut
- 33:47down for their crimes against humanity.
- 33:49But that can't happen unless we pray for that and we ask for
- 33:52that and we work towards that. So share this episode with
- 33:55friend as well. Make sure that your friends are
- 33:57aware of Planned Parenthood's business activities.
- 34:00They're ending of the lives of children.
- 34:01Of course, now they're pushing of cross sex hormones on young
- 34:04people. Make sure you and the people
- 34:07that you care about are educated on this issue.
- 34:09And again, sign the petition to defund Planned Parenthood so
- 34:12that you can then be activated to call Congress to defund
- 34:15Planned Parenthood. Thanks so much again for
- 34:17listening to this episode of the Lila Rose podcast.
