- 2:45Speaker 1: are you doing. How are you doing? Yes, thank you
- 2:47Speaker 1: so much for having me on the show. So you're
- 2:49Speaker 1: Georgia bred, Georgia Brandon born, right, Georgia Brandon born. I
- 2:53Speaker 1: am from Atlanta, Georgia Baptist. Yes, I love it. I
- 2:58Speaker 1: love it. Now you serve some time in the army.
- 3:00Speaker 1: That's why we had that note about it is a
- 3:02Speaker 1: veteran owned premium. My younger my oldest, but I have two.
- 3:06Speaker 1: My youngest brother he served in the army, and I
- 3:10Speaker 1: have my nephew has very popular barbecue stand called Big
- 3:13Speaker 1: six Domino. He served time in the army and so
- 3:16Speaker 1: I'm a fan of the military. I had a big
- 3:18Speaker 1: Air National Guard contract when I hand all the recruitment
- 3:21Speaker 1: and retention for their national guards. So I like to
- 3:24Speaker 1: believe that I'm an advocate for the army. Talk about
- 3:27Speaker 1: your military experience and how important it was it was
- 3:31Speaker 1: to you at that time, and how I use what
- 3:33Speaker 1: you learned from it into your everyday life today. Wow.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I joined the military short after high school. I tried
- 3:42Speaker 1: the college thing, but I'm one of those individuals that
- 3:46Speaker 1: think outside the box. So I'm like, I needed to
- 3:49Speaker 1: figure out life because I had moments where I was
- 3:52Speaker 1: in school and it was teaching things that was not
- 3:55Speaker 1: applying to my actual realistic life at that moment. And
- 3:59Speaker 1: so I decided that I wanted to take the route,
- 4:03Speaker 1: as you know, through the military, just to see the world,
- 4:07Speaker 1: just to experience different things. Because when you come from
- 4:10Speaker 1: a background where it's not properly set up for you,
- 4:13Speaker 1: you have to figure things out. You can't always do
- 4:16Speaker 1: the blame game, right, And so I decided to go
- 4:19Speaker 1: into the military idea four years active duty and that
- 4:23Speaker 1: was a journey. I've seen so many things. Um, what
- 4:26Speaker 1: what did you do? What did you train at in
- 4:28Speaker 1: the army? What about what part you from Atlanta, Georgia.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Where did you go to train South Carolina? And you
- 4:34Speaker 1: were stationed I was for I was stationed at Fort Louis,
- 4:37Speaker 1: which is in Seattle, right right, So you went from
- 4:41Speaker 1: the South, trained in South Carolina, and next thing you know,
- 4:45Speaker 1: you're in Seattle, Washington, which is really a different part
- 4:49Speaker 1: of the country. Range a lot beautiful part of the country,
- 4:53Speaker 1: A lot of woods up there, kind of like Georgia.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Georgia has a lot of woods down here. Tell us
- 4:57Speaker 1: about that that that that experience being in Ah, That's
- 5:01Speaker 1: what I love about travel. Travel exposed used to a
- 5:03Speaker 1: lot of different things, different different cultures, different eating habits
- 5:06Speaker 1: and all that tell us about that journey. You know,
- 5:09Speaker 1: going to at that moment, I had never been anywhere,
- 5:13Speaker 1: to be honest put yourself. It was a It was
- 5:16Speaker 1: a shocker to me because going to Seattle, it's completely
- 5:18Speaker 1: different from the South. One percent. Nothing is the same.
- 5:22Speaker 1: The restaurants is different, the people there, the culture is different,
- 5:25Speaker 1: the walk of life and the mentality is different. So
- 5:28Speaker 1: I had to change as I was there because I
- 5:32Speaker 1: was so used to my way, I was so used
- 5:34Speaker 1: to what was introduced to me that I had to
- 5:37Speaker 1: learn new things I had to, you know, have a
- 5:40Speaker 1: different taste palette because you know, the food was different. Um,
- 5:44Speaker 1: the ways that they do things was quite different. And
- 5:47Speaker 1: as I was going through my journey in the military,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I was tested so many and so many times because
- 5:54Speaker 1: it's different. You go through things that you can't speak on. Um.
- 5:57Speaker 1: You experience things is going to change you forever. And
- 6:01Speaker 1: the one thing that I truly appreciate from the military
- 6:04Speaker 1: was the genuine friendships I was able to build. It
- 6:08Speaker 1: wasn't a color, it was just humans that just build
- 6:12Speaker 1: a connection and that was considered your family, your batta buddies.
- 6:16Speaker 1: And so I went through so many things, but I
- 6:19Speaker 1: also lost a lot of friends too, you know, and
- 6:22Speaker 1: so it puts you in a different um perspective on life.
- 6:26Speaker 1: And it also teaches you how to rise above, grow
- 6:30Speaker 1: up and let things go. So you know how uh,
- 6:34Speaker 1: normal people hold brudget. Once you go through the military,
- 6:38Speaker 1: you learn how to let that stuff go because people
- 6:40Speaker 1: lives are not promised. You're not promised to see somebody
- 6:43Speaker 1: the next day, so you have to let things go
- 6:47Speaker 1: very fast because you want to enjoy those moments that
- 6:50Speaker 1: you have in those experiences that you have with people.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Because life is not just pretty. You know, I understand
- 6:57Speaker 1: that sometimes social media and TV will put on these
- 7:01Speaker 1: different perspectives as if this is how life is. That's
- 7:04Speaker 1: completely not true. You know, that's entertainment. It's a difference
- 7:08Speaker 1: between entertainment and reality. Right. I was going through the journey,
- 7:13Speaker 1: and while I was in the military, I went through
- 7:16Speaker 1: a really dark moment, you know, the Praca. Yes, it
- 7:22Speaker 1: was a lot going on. It was, you know, very controversial.
- 7:26Speaker 1: It's the same things that happened instead of the real
- 7:30Speaker 1: world happens in the military, whether it's race, whether it's
- 7:33Speaker 1: anything that you go through a lot of things inside
- 7:36Speaker 1: the military that it's not truly spoken, but it truly
- 7:39Speaker 1: will develop you mentally, and it would give you a
- 7:43Speaker 1: sense of dedication, hard work, and a sense of respect
- 7:47Speaker 1: for a lot of different cultures. Right. But as I
- 7:49Speaker 1: was going through the journey, I went through a dark
- 7:52Speaker 1: moment of depression because here I am, um, a young female,
- 7:56Speaker 1: you know, just turning twenty one. I moved away. I
- 7:59Speaker 1: don't have no friends, no family, nothing, and I'm in
- 8:02Speaker 1: a whole another on the other side of the world,
- 8:05Speaker 1: and I'm going through things by myself. And it got
- 8:07Speaker 1: to a point where I couldn't pick up the phone
- 8:09Speaker 1: and call my mama, or call my brothers or tell
- 8:13Speaker 1: them what was going on, because if I did, I
- 8:15Speaker 1: would have stressed them out and they couldn't save me.
- 8:17Speaker 1: They couldn't come pick me up, They couldn't remove me
- 8:21Speaker 1: from my situation. So I had to go through it.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And um, I remember going through those moments of depression.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And let me tell you this. I didn't know what
- 8:30Speaker 1: depression was. I heard about it, I read about it,
- 8:33Speaker 1: but it was like something that you read about, but
- 8:36Speaker 1: until you go through, you don't understand it. Because the
- 8:39Speaker 1: fight is getting out of depression. See, it takes you
- 8:43Speaker 1: a minute to think into depression because half the time
- 8:46Speaker 1: you don't even realize you depressed. You're going through things
- 8:48Speaker 1: and you think that's just a part of life. But
- 8:51Speaker 1: once you get in it and you recognize it, it's
- 8:53Speaker 1: a battle just trying to get yourself out of it.
- 8:56Speaker 1: And I remember that moment that I was able to
- 8:59Speaker 1: truly define what depression was and how I was able
- 9:03Speaker 1: to get out of it. I remember it. One day
- 9:06Speaker 1: it had got to the point where I would just
- 9:08Speaker 1: get up and go to work and then sleep. All
- 9:11Speaker 1: I did was one thing I knew how to do
- 9:13Speaker 1: would go to work, but after that I would sleep
- 9:15Speaker 1: my days away. And I woke up one day and
- 9:19Speaker 1: I looked myself in a mirror and I said, you're
- 9:23Speaker 1: either gonna kill yourself or you're gonna push through. And
- 9:27Speaker 1: when I fail. When I said kill myself, I'm not
- 9:29Speaker 1: saying literally, I'm talking about mentally, because you have so
- 9:34Speaker 1: much to offer. And sometimes we get caught up in
- 9:37Speaker 1: our own illusions, our own thoughts that we start to
- 9:40Speaker 1: create these different things, create these different methods, or we'll
- 9:44Speaker 1: start thinking that people feel this way about its not
- 9:46Speaker 1: knowing that they're going through their own things as well.
- 9:49Speaker 1: So we'll start projecting stress, projecting different things that we're
- 9:54Speaker 1: going through. And so I told myself I had too
- 9:56Speaker 1: much to offer. I'm an amazing individual. Look at all
- 9:58Speaker 1: these people that are go on you. Look about these
- 10:01Speaker 1: people that come to you for advice. You are somebody,
- 10:04Speaker 1: You mean something to somebody. Now you gotta dig deep
- 10:07Speaker 1: inside and start to have that value for yourself. And
- 10:11Speaker 1: once I realized that, that's how I got out of it.
- 10:14Speaker 1: And so that is how I got to the point
- 10:16Speaker 1: of wanting to write a book called Life After depression. Wow,
- 10:21Speaker 1: when I when I hear you talk about depression, you know,
- 10:25Speaker 1: I don't want this to be about you know, dark
- 10:30Speaker 1: moments in your life, because your life has upbeat your motivator.
- 10:34Speaker 1: You You're You're willing to step and tell your sincere
- 10:38Speaker 1: side of your story, which I think is important because
- 10:40Speaker 1: a lot of people want to tell that story. They
- 10:42Speaker 1: want to like being ready, everything's good, everything's good, And
- 10:46Speaker 1: because you gotta everything is not good. My life is
- 10:48Speaker 1: not perfect, and so on this show, I'm willing to
- 10:51Speaker 1: tell expose my flaws and my successful as well. And
- 10:54Speaker 1: so that's why I wanted to talk about the military,
- 10:57Speaker 1: because a lot of young people make these decisions they're
- 10:59Speaker 1: going to military. When I was doing the recruiting and
- 11:01Speaker 1: retention for their National car it was you know, I
- 11:04Speaker 1: I remember having an opportunity when I came out of
- 11:07Speaker 1: high school to get a scholarship to attend the m
- 11:09Speaker 1: I t UM School. And when it came to you know, uh,
- 11:15Speaker 1: the whole thing about uh serving your country and potentially
- 11:19Speaker 1: losing your life and the service of your country, that
- 11:21Speaker 1: that backed me back. And so because that's a that's
- 11:25Speaker 1: a big decision to make that you're willing to, you know,
- 11:29Speaker 1: expose yourself in a position the defense of your country,
- 11:32Speaker 1: to give up your life. Did you understand that when
- 11:36Speaker 1: you were and you know, uh, enrolling in registering for
- 11:41Speaker 1: the military, or it was just something you just wanted
- 11:43Speaker 1: to do. Absolutely not um um. I was told a
- 11:47Speaker 1: million dreams from um recruiter um. Because but you gotta
- 11:51Speaker 1: understand now that I'm gonna do. I understand they had
- 11:53Speaker 1: a job to do as well. They you know, it's
- 11:55Speaker 1: a it's a reason why they're recruiting, and they have
- 11:57Speaker 1: to recruit a certain amount of people to keep that
- 11:59Speaker 1: job or stay back to active duty. So I was
- 12:03Speaker 1: told so many things. Oh my god, you're gonna get
- 12:05Speaker 1: to go to school, You're going to get to do this,
- 12:07Speaker 1: You're gonna get to travel around the world. And if
- 12:10Speaker 1: I could just give advice to anybody, let me tell
- 12:12Speaker 1: you something. If someone decides to go into the military
- 12:15Speaker 1: for the right reasons, I say, absolutely go forward. I
- 12:18Speaker 1: don't know about right now right now, but I'm just saying,
- 12:22Speaker 1: you know, if you decide to do it, make sure
- 12:25Speaker 1: you know what you're getting yourself into. Make sure your
- 12:28Speaker 1: core values go along with what you're trying to do.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Because I went in just wanted to escape my life.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I wanted to escape the streets, I wanted to escape things.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I wanted to just you know, become a better person
- 12:40Speaker 1: for my family. But I should have still dug deeper
- 12:43Speaker 1: on the main reasons of what was gonna be my
- 12:46Speaker 1: motivation when I got there, Because you don't know what
- 12:49Speaker 1: you're gonna be faithful you dropped off and that bust
- 12:52Speaker 1: stop and they tell you to get off that bus.
- 12:55Speaker 1: That's when things get real. Life for you is completely different.
- 13:00Speaker 1: So it was a journey from stage one to stage
- 13:03Speaker 1: two to go on a different places, going to Virginia,
- 13:06Speaker 1: having to go to sleeping quarters, having to share quarters
- 13:08Speaker 1: with hundreds of people, having to have your personal space
- 13:12Speaker 1: taken away from you. It's a mental journey that you
- 13:15Speaker 1: have to go through and you have to be ready
- 13:17Speaker 1: for it. It's finally here, the season of celebration, and
- 13:20Speaker 1: no matter how you celebrate with family and friends, whether

- 15:15Speaker 1: now you're up in Now you're back in Atlanta. You
- 15:17Speaker 1: have a very successful business. Is a C B D store?
- 15:21Speaker 1: What exactly is a c B D store? What is that? So?
- 15:26Speaker 1: CBD is called cannabinoid UM. It is one of the
- 15:31Speaker 1: top ingredients in a marijuana plan. So basically I am
- 15:36Speaker 1: in the marijuana industry if you want to look at
- 15:38Speaker 1: it from that perspective. UM. Inside of my store, UM,
- 15:43Speaker 1: we have products that does not have T A C
- 15:46Speaker 1: products inside of it. But we're also going to be
- 15:49Speaker 1: coming out with a line that has K A C
- 15:51Speaker 1: because we understand how certain individuals needed. CBD is cannabinoid
- 15:56Speaker 1: and our endocannabinoid system has we sceptors for CBD, which
- 16:02Speaker 1: is crazy because why wasn't this always legal to us?
- 16:06Speaker 1: Why did it take so long? It's the questions that
- 16:09Speaker 1: so many people have because CBD has saved so many lives,
- 16:14Speaker 1: whether it's a person who has anxiety, oppression, epilepsy, autism, diabetes,
- 16:19Speaker 1: you know, pain. So it's just a revolution. It's amazing.
- 16:23Speaker 1: It is one of the most amazing products that I
- 16:25Speaker 1: have ever been introduced to. And how I got into
- 16:28Speaker 1: the business was a unique journey from me. Okay, now
- 16:31Speaker 1: you know, you just gonna it's gonna make that statement.
- 16:33Speaker 1: It's just gonna stop talking. You know, you know how
- 16:36Speaker 1: to talk. It was a new, unique, unique journey for
- 16:39Speaker 1: me Perio had had. What happened was when I was
- 16:47Speaker 1: starting to get out the military. Been in Seattle, UM,
- 16:50Speaker 1: there's nothing but dispensary, so marijuana is legal there. And
- 16:53Speaker 1: so you know, I never been a part of a
- 16:56Speaker 1: state where people smoke marijuana and still went to work
- 16:59Speaker 1: on time. It did not change nothing. Everybody was around it.
- 17:04Speaker 1: They had marijuana in hot saws, lotions, um candy. It
- 17:09Speaker 1: was everything, and people was function as if and the
- 17:13Speaker 1: dispensary was a size and target. You know, it's just
- 17:16Speaker 1: like walking in, getting what you need, leaving and going
- 17:18Speaker 1: about your day. And so I started to you know,
- 17:21Speaker 1: learn it and really find out the mask behind it.
- 17:25Speaker 1: And I remember one day my mom was in pain
- 17:28Speaker 1: and she had went to the doctor. You know, they'd
- 17:29Speaker 1: be giving out all these pain medicines. So I took
- 17:31Speaker 1: the label. I gave her some pain cream and I
- 17:34Speaker 1: took the label off and I said, oh, Mama, they
- 17:35Speaker 1: gave me this, and I told her to try it.
- 17:38Speaker 1: And it worked right, It was nothing but CBD, you know,
- 17:43Speaker 1: And so I just had to let her know sometimes
- 17:46Speaker 1: it takes for us to try something different. Just because
- 17:49Speaker 1: a man tell you to take appeal don't mean you
- 17:51Speaker 1: gotta take it. You gotta just step outside the box
- 17:53Speaker 1: and start doing research on what you're in taking in
- 17:56Speaker 1: your digestive system. And so, as I was going through
- 17:59Speaker 1: and I was learning the business UM, I started working
- 18:02Speaker 1: for this great UM corporate company and I was doing
- 18:05Speaker 1: so well, and that corporate company they moved me to
- 18:09Speaker 1: another place, which back to the South, which where marijuana
- 18:12Speaker 1: CBD was no longer legal. Now, as I was going
- 18:15Speaker 1: through my journey UM, one day I went to the doctor, Um,
- 18:20Speaker 1: the eye doctor, and I needed some new glasses because
- 18:22Speaker 1: I was still using the glasses from the military. And
- 18:25Speaker 1: the lady told me that the pressure in my eye
- 18:29Speaker 1: was so was so strong that it was still if
- 18:32Speaker 1: I'm either on drugs or something is wrong. And I'm like, ma'am,
- 18:36Speaker 1: I'll let you know if I did some weed or something.
- 18:38Speaker 1: But I don't do drugs. You know, I don't do
- 18:40Speaker 1: drug drugs. You know, that's just not what I do.
- 18:46Speaker 1: You know, man, I don't do that other right right.
- 18:54Speaker 1: I ended up going to go get an m R.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I and I later found out. I got a call
- 19:00Speaker 1: one day. I was sitting at home. I got a
- 19:02Speaker 1: call and the doctor was on the phone and they
- 19:04Speaker 1: were sounding so stressed out that they had made me sure.
- 19:07Speaker 1: That was like, you know, Mr Jennings, Um, we wanted
- 19:10Speaker 1: to see if you have some time to talk. And
- 19:11Speaker 1: I'm like, what's up? And it was like, we wanted
- 19:14Speaker 1: to let you know that you we found that you
- 19:16Speaker 1: had a propteritory gland tumor. The size is large and
- 19:19Speaker 1: we might have to do brain surgery. Man, I'm young.
- 19:23Speaker 1: My heart dropped, you know. I remember everybody's just in
- 19:26Speaker 1: a liberal I'm crying. I'm like, I just the feeling
- 19:30Speaker 1: just came back. I was crying. I was like, you know, way,
- 19:32Speaker 1: I'm just going to take all my money go to
- 19:33Speaker 1: after travel. You know my life is over. First of all,
- 19:39Speaker 1: we just go take all your money go to Africa.
- 19:41Speaker 1: That's that's what got me laughing. All you got the grippea,
- 19:45Speaker 1: you gotta wife, you got a Mexican riviera. I was
- 19:49Speaker 1: gonna take all my money go to Africa. Risha. That's
- 19:51Speaker 1: what I'm going. That's exactly what I was thinking. And
- 19:55Speaker 1: I remember my mom told me. She said, girl, she said,
- 19:58Speaker 1: you were stronger than said. First of all, them doctors
- 20:01Speaker 1: don't have the last day, so when you need to
- 20:03Speaker 1: look more into your situation. And so at that moment,
- 20:08Speaker 1: at that moment that they told me that, I started
- 20:11Speaker 1: to make myself sick, strength started to build up. My
- 20:16Speaker 1: my thoughts started to change, and once again the whole
- 20:19Speaker 1: little circle roller coaster was there until I say, you
- 20:22Speaker 1: know what, I'm not gonna do this. I'm not gonna
- 20:24Speaker 1: do this to myself. So I started to talk to
- 20:27Speaker 1: the doctors, do more research, and then to find out
- 20:30Speaker 1: that the doctor that called me with the information was
- 20:33Speaker 1: a doctor that was in training first of all, So
- 20:37Speaker 1: that was the wrong That was the wrong procedure there
- 20:40Speaker 1: to have someone in training to call me and deliver
- 20:42Speaker 1: some news like that. And so as the journey went,
- 20:46Speaker 1: I mean, I can't even account how many m r
- 20:48Speaker 1: I s. I didn't had, but to find out, by
- 20:50Speaker 1: the grace of God, my tumor was benign, so cancer free. Um,
- 20:54Speaker 1: as time went by, I started doing my my own
- 20:57Speaker 1: holistic ways CBD, different things like that, and I went
- 21:01Speaker 1: back the tumor was not growing. There was like, well,
- 21:03Speaker 1: miss Jennings that you're fine, We're just gonna keep monitoring.
- 21:07Speaker 1: And at that moment I started to notice that you
- 21:10Speaker 1: are the creator. You create those thoughts and you create
- 21:15Speaker 1: what mindset you're going to be in when the doctor
- 21:18Speaker 1: tell you bad news. They do not have the last
- 21:21Speaker 1: say though. So at that moment that's when I'm like, wow,
- 21:25Speaker 1: CBD came back to me again. Remember, I'm like, okay,
- 21:29Speaker 1: I left it. I went to started the whole new
- 21:32Speaker 1: thing because I couldn't do that dispensary. I'm in a
- 21:35Speaker 1: state where it's not legal. Now the CBDs part comes
- 21:37Speaker 1: back to me. And then as time went by, two
- 21:40Speaker 1: thousand and eighteen came the Farm Bill Past. Now CBD
- 21:44Speaker 1: is legal in Georgia. We can sell up to three
- 21:46Speaker 1: T a c. So as I, you know, was doing
- 21:50Speaker 1: well and I was transferring, you know, going to different places.
- 21:54Speaker 1: My last location where I got transferred from my job
- 21:58Speaker 1: was Atlanta, my hometown, and I remember having all these employees.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I had did very well for myself, and I had
- 22:05Speaker 1: so many people that will come to me for advice.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I had my peers. I was helping people come up
- 22:10Speaker 1: with their plans being see and I'm like, you, oh,
- 22:14Speaker 1: speaking license to everybody else, What are you gonna do
- 22:16Speaker 1: for yourself? How is you going to manifest things for yourself?
- 22:21Speaker 1: And so that's when I started to create New Leaf.
- 22:23Speaker 1: And one day I was sitting in my office, I
- 22:27Speaker 1: picked up my purse, I locked the door, and I
- 22:29Speaker 1: never returned back to corporate. And after that, I made
- 22:35Speaker 1: a decision that I'm going to live for me. And
- 22:37Speaker 1: I had so many people telling me, I can't believe
- 22:40Speaker 1: you quit that good job. I can't believe what you're
- 22:42Speaker 1: gonna do. How you all time, I don't know what
- 22:48Speaker 1: I don't even know what that means, because to me,
- 22:51Speaker 1: I was working so hard. I didn't even have time
- 22:54Speaker 1: for to have a life. I mean, I had money,
- 22:57Speaker 1: but I didn't have time to enjoy having experiences. So
- 23:01Speaker 1: I didn't look at it as a good job to
- 23:02Speaker 1: me my mind frame, I worked to enjoy life, not
- 23:06Speaker 1: work to pay bills. That's something that's already known that
- 23:08Speaker 1: you have to do. So I wasn't enjoying the position
- 23:12Speaker 1: that I was in. I was stressed out, and I
- 23:14Speaker 1: had to remove that from I had to remove myself
- 23:17Speaker 1: from that situation because of everything that I had been through.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I had to start creating a life for myself. And
- 23:23Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, this is my passion. I can
- 23:26Speaker 1: help assist people with healing. I can motivate people, I
- 23:29Speaker 1: can help heal people. I can talk to people and
- 23:31Speaker 1: tell them about my story. And that's how I got
- 23:34Speaker 1: to here and look at God, this is it's crazy
- 23:38Speaker 1: to see that. It's not crazy, it's it's it's you
- 23:41Speaker 1: know what. I what I consistently hear in your brs.
- 23:43Speaker 1: First of all, you're you're authentic, and you're down home,
- 23:46Speaker 1: which I love. And I'm from Houston, Texas. I'm a
- 23:48Speaker 1: Southern boy and uh and it rings true in your
- 23:52Speaker 1: tone and and like I'm I'm a cancer survivor, and
- 23:55Speaker 1: so I know when I know what you felt like,
- 23:59Speaker 1: I would laugh you by the Africa. I know when
- 24:01Speaker 1: they when they told me I cancer, I have some
- 24:03Speaker 1: places I wanted to go to. Okay and uh And
- 24:06Speaker 1: because you just never know, because I don't care what anything.
- 24:08Speaker 1: When people tell you that the term or cancer or
- 24:10Speaker 1: tumor or anything that's cancerous, it always feels terminal because
- 24:14Speaker 1: I don't because you don't think about who survived. All
- 24:16Speaker 1: you know is that cancer people die, and so and
- 24:19Speaker 1: so and so when that happens, and then it happened
- 24:23Speaker 1: to you much younger age than I was when I
- 24:25Speaker 1: discovered it. And but when you find out about it
- 24:28Speaker 1: does put you everything in perspective. And I like to
- 24:31Speaker 1: believe that one of the greater levels of perspective is
- 24:34Speaker 1: to say, you know something, I'm gonna do what I
- 24:36Speaker 1: want to do with my life because it's the only
- 24:38Speaker 1: one I have. I like it as one of the
- 24:41Speaker 1: driving forces to your passion right now and why you're
- 24:44Speaker 1: successful now and opening up the CBD store. What was
- 24:47Speaker 1: some of the obstacles of opening new leaf Number one? Okay,
- 24:55Speaker 1: don't don't you do that to me. Let me say,
- 25:01Speaker 1: when I decided to do this, I wanted to have
- 25:03Speaker 1: a business partner. I did not want to go into
- 25:06Speaker 1: this by myself because to run a business with one
- 25:10Speaker 1: brain is very challenging. And so I was talking to
- 25:14Speaker 1: many people and everybody's like, Oh, that's dope, that's what's up.
- 25:17Speaker 1: That da right, But no one wanted to put no
- 25:20Speaker 1: money in. People like to reap the benefits. They don't
- 25:22Speaker 1: want to, but they don't want to go through the work.
- 25:25Speaker 1: And so I got tired of trying to sell my
- 25:27Speaker 1: dreams to people who I thought was going to benefit
- 25:32Speaker 1: from it. I stopped trying to, you know, wait for
- 25:35Speaker 1: somebody to give me confirmation that this was a go.
- 25:38Speaker 1: And I said, well, God, I'm gonna need you to
- 25:39Speaker 1: be my business partner. I'm gonna need you to assist
- 25:42Speaker 1: me with this because this is my first rodeo and
- 25:45Speaker 1: I need your assistance all all through it. I need
- 25:48Speaker 1: you to cover me and the blood as I continue
- 25:49Speaker 1: to move forward because sometimes I don't know what I'm doing.
- 25:53Speaker 1: And when he when I had to talk of God,
- 25:55Speaker 1: I felt it he told me to go. I literally
- 25:59Speaker 1: felt like I heard a voice of that move like,
- 26:02Speaker 1: go do what you gotta do, and I'm gonna I'm
- 26:04Speaker 1: gonna make sure you're okay. And when I tell you,
- 26:07Speaker 1: I decided to make that leap and things started to
- 26:11Speaker 1: fall into place. Now, let me tell you, I don't
- 26:13Speaker 1: I don't want to make it seem like it was easy,
- 26:15Speaker 1: because I remember coming into this building that I chose
- 26:19Speaker 1: and having to paint walls due the floors, and I
- 26:22Speaker 1: was crying while I was doing it. My back was
- 26:24Speaker 1: hurting everything in me. I was everyone who said that
- 26:27Speaker 1: it was gonna help. Some people didn't show up, you know,
- 26:31Speaker 1: um having to get contract. But you know the thing
- 26:34Speaker 1: about it is that it didn't stop you though, that
- 26:38Speaker 1: that that here's the beauty. Let me ask you this, Okay,
- 26:40Speaker 1: can you buy your product online? Yeah? Okay, cool. So
- 26:44Speaker 1: can you do me a favor? Okay? Because I'm a fan.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I'm a fan Jack Quis Channing's um, because I've been
- 26:51Speaker 1: going through I saw you featured in Essence, I saw
- 26:54Speaker 1: you featured in E R Web. You know, you've done
- 26:58Speaker 1: a great job of promoting your brain and being on
- 27:00Speaker 1: my show is another angle of getting the word out
- 27:03Speaker 1: that that I commend you on that because people don't
- 27:05Speaker 1: know about your business and guess what, people can't buy
- 27:07Speaker 1: your business, Okay, And so I have a newsletter I
- 27:10Speaker 1: give out every Friday at nine am. It goes out
- 27:13Speaker 1: to eighty thousand followers. I like to put a nice
- 27:15Speaker 1: little online ad in there. It's free of charge as
- 27:18Speaker 1: part of the whole thing of why I created money
- 27:20Speaker 1: making conversations. So if you don't mind, give me a
- 27:23Speaker 1: band of ad and so I can start promoting your
- 27:25Speaker 1: branding and help you and let you know you got
- 27:27Speaker 1: a friend on Rushan McDonald's willing to build your brand
- 27:31Speaker 1: for your charge. Is that cool? That means that means
- 27:33Speaker 1: so much to me. And blessing your way, that really
- 27:36Speaker 1: means a lot to me because I really want people
- 27:39Speaker 1: to start healing, and it's not even just about being
- 27:42Speaker 1: a black owned business. I want people to start to
- 27:45Speaker 1: be able to just think for themselves and pay attention
- 27:48Speaker 1: to what they're put in their body. Because when people
- 27:50Speaker 1: start to find out how these medications are approved to
- 27:53Speaker 1: the FDA, they'll start to actually read the ingredients inside
- 27:55Speaker 1: of their body. Right. Because I love that. I love this.
- 27:58Speaker 1: It's kind of like a green mean like green brown
- 28:02Speaker 1: bottle design. It looks really good, looks professional. Everything looks wonderful.
- 28:06Speaker 1: I'm just looking at images on the various ads and
- 28:08Speaker 1: things like that. I just I love what you're doing here.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I love the fact that you don't have to have
- 28:13Speaker 1: a prescription to buy your product. I love the fact
- 28:16Speaker 1: that I have some good friends who are doing this
- 28:19Speaker 1: as well. But you know, you're one of the few
- 28:21Speaker 1: females who have cracked that glass ceiling to go out
- 28:24Speaker 1: there and do this on your own. So I'm gonna
- 28:26Speaker 1: do my best. I got six sisters, so I gotta
- 28:29Speaker 1: help out. Want more Little Cis. Okay, I'm gonna throw
- 28:31Speaker 1: you in the Little Cis mand wagon. That cool. That's
- 28:34Speaker 1: perfectly fine with me. Perfect I appreciate you, and so again,
- 28:39Speaker 1: thank you for coming on Money Making Conversation, Miss Jennings.
- 28:42Speaker 1: And again, you are special. Your motivation is on point,
- 28:46Speaker 1: your honesty is off the chart, and your authenticity is
- 28:50Speaker 1: a blessing. Okay, I appreciate that, and I'm sending you
- 28:54Speaker 1: nothing but love and blessings, and I pray that God
- 28:57Speaker 1: keep you covered as well you and your family. I
