- 2:01Speaker 1: the relationship business now. Dr the Cold Little Beach, Hello,
- 2:07Speaker 1: that you well, I need to ask how you you
- 2:10Speaker 1: know you are in the relationship business in the middle
- 2:12Speaker 1: of a pandemic. All I know is I will not
- 2:15Speaker 1: want to be single right now. People wearing masks you
- 2:19Speaker 1: don't know, you know talking about you can have it.
- 2:21Speaker 1: You might have me making love and get the COVID ninty.
- 2:24Speaker 1: You kiss, you get the COVID n Holding the hands,
- 2:27Speaker 1: you get the COVID naty. I don't know if his
- 2:31Speaker 1: relationship is a dead thing. What is the new way technology?
- 2:34Speaker 1: The way you you? You you see somebody online and
- 2:37Speaker 1: just marry them? What you do? What you can't hold hands? No,
- 2:41Speaker 1: that's not that's not it. Please don't see them. Aline
- 2:47Speaker 1: then you'll be asking me how to help. I can't
- 2:50Speaker 1: happen that you do. But you know, first of all,
- 2:54Speaker 1: list a delight to be here with you you. Um,
- 2:57Speaker 1: you are so wonderful and inspiring and um you might
- 3:01Speaker 1: not remember Roushawn, but you actually helped me um when
- 3:06Speaker 1: I first came on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. So
- 3:08Speaker 1: just a little blast from the past of gratitude because
- 3:12Speaker 1: your footprint and presence has been so big over the years.
- 3:16Speaker 1: So I absolutely thank you for that. I believe you
- 3:19Speaker 1: have to thank people who helped you along the way.
- 3:23Speaker 1: So you know now that I'm I'm in this relationship space,
- 3:27Speaker 1: UM and hosting this show, must we never forget We
- 3:31Speaker 1: must never forget, um, those who came and helped to
- 3:35Speaker 1: create the narrative. The thing about that is that I
- 3:38Speaker 1: appreciate you saying that, but uh, when I hear that
- 3:42Speaker 1: a lot from people, and just like you're talented, and
- 3:45Speaker 1: I've always been a person that you know, it wasn't
- 3:48Speaker 1: risky for me to give anybody an opportunity that I
- 3:51Speaker 1: felt was solidly I had a solid understanding of their capabilities.
- 3:56Speaker 1: And I always felt you had a solid understanding of
- 3:58Speaker 1: your capabilities. Plus you because blood people, they're passionate about something.
- 4:02Speaker 1: But then it does that passion translate to, uh, the
- 4:06Speaker 1: ability to succeed in it? And you always felt was
- 4:09Speaker 1: the was the one and uh, and so it's it's
- 4:12Speaker 1: fun when I when I see that, and and I do,
- 4:15Speaker 1: and I've done it a lot in my life. Just uh,
- 4:18Speaker 1: just trust in my natural instincts. Do Nicole? Is that
- 4:21Speaker 1: when you when people say that to me, I go yeah,
- 4:24Speaker 1: And it doesn't really it doesn't really pop back in
- 4:27Speaker 1: my brain until somebody reminds like, oh yeah, remember yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 1: because usually when you I know, how large the brand
- 4:34Speaker 1: of Steve Harvey isn't large because I was there and
- 4:36Speaker 1: I built it with him, And so when people were
- 4:39Speaker 1: introduced to that massive audience, it really really did set
- 4:43Speaker 1: set motion a major change, and you were in a
- 4:46Speaker 1: position to take advantage of it. Well, I appreciate it,
- 4:50Speaker 1: I do. And you know, this is a really exciting time. Um,
- 4:54Speaker 1: though it is a crazy time, right you You said
- 4:57Speaker 1: it best. With everything that's happening with COVID, It's like
- 5:01Speaker 1: people are like, God, how do you date? What do
- 5:04Speaker 1: you do? And I say, you know, Um, this COVID
- 5:07Speaker 1: experience is really creating some boundaries that slow things down
- 5:15Speaker 1: in a way that many of us probably would have
- 5:19Speaker 1: benefited from if we were using some of these boundaries
- 5:23Speaker 1: before COVID in how we were dating, right, agree, because
- 5:28Speaker 1: slowing right, slowing things down. Um, what I say is,
- 5:32Speaker 1: you know, dating is about collecting data, and when you
- 5:36Speaker 1: slow things down, you get to really collect enough data
- 5:41Speaker 1: to see are you dating a representative or are you
- 5:47Speaker 1: dating a full person? So what COVID is now done,
- 5:52Speaker 1: it's forced people to take the time to do the
- 5:56Speaker 1: due diligence of conversation and um being cautiously um connected
- 6:04Speaker 1: so that they can have enough time to see who
- 6:06Speaker 1: they're really dating. And that's really important, and I are
- 6:10Speaker 1: one of the most popular lines of Steve Harvey's first book,
- 6:14Speaker 1: Act Like Lately, Think like a Man was the naty
- 6:17Speaker 1: day rule, And basically that's what you're saying and collecting
- 6:20Speaker 1: data and being able to sit back and not immediately
- 6:23Speaker 1: jump into a sexual relationship with a person, understand, or
- 6:26Speaker 1: do they like your kids that don't like your kids?
- 6:28Speaker 1: Do it like you did like the food you eat
- 6:30Speaker 1: that naty day period And and it translated to a
- 6:34Speaker 1: major reason why that book was so successful, And you're
- 6:36Speaker 1: saying the same thing here. The pandemic has slowed down
- 6:40Speaker 1: quickly maybe quickly jumping into bed with each other and
- 6:44Speaker 1: also really identifying the lifestyle of that person that you
- 6:49Speaker 1: may want a relationship with, or how are they where
- 6:51Speaker 1: do they live, or do they take care of themselves physically?
- 6:55Speaker 1: All these things, well, some of the processes that were skipped,
- 6:58Speaker 1: they're now being looked at in a different manner. And
- 7:00Speaker 1: also because of mask, you know, you can't exactly see
- 7:05Speaker 1: who you're who you're trying to create relationship right off,
- 7:08Speaker 1: and so you really need to get to know the
- 7:10Speaker 1: person a lot more. And that also leads to longtime relationships.
- 7:14Speaker 1: So those values talking of the pandemic is not a
- 7:17Speaker 1: good thing. We don't want to be in it for
- 7:19Speaker 1: form a relationship standpoint. It is forcing us to look
- 7:22Speaker 1: at the person and not just the physical or object. Yeah,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and how do they you know, how do they handle
- 7:30Speaker 1: their every day? You know, have things appropriately changed for
- 7:35Speaker 1: them as it should? Right? So even things like if
- 7:38Speaker 1: they haven't skipped to beat, then that tells you something
- 7:42Speaker 1: because in this health crisis, you should be skipping something right,
- 7:49Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, ain't that wrong with it?
- 7:53Speaker 1: Let's go no social distance and just doing it right exactly.
- 7:58Speaker 1: So if they're not skipping nothing, if they're still driving,
- 8:01Speaker 1: you know, a hundred and fifty miles an hour in
- 8:04Speaker 1: their imaginary cars on you know, on the road that's
- 8:08Speaker 1: column for forty five, then then all of that information
- 8:12Speaker 1: is saying to you, okay, is this is how they're
- 8:15Speaker 1: leading their life in this dynamic? Um it is really
- 8:21Speaker 1: the match made in heaven, you know. So it's not
- 8:25Speaker 1: a good thing. I agree with you. Lots of lost,
- 8:28Speaker 1: lots of compassion um for what we're all experiencing, but
- 8:33Speaker 1: it is pushing people to be a whole lot more
- 8:37Speaker 1: responsible with their heart and with their safety. And that
- 8:42Speaker 1: really that's what it all comes down to, is the relationship,
- 8:47Speaker 1: the essence of it. So when I look at your firm,
- 8:49Speaker 1: you know you're the presidency or relation enterprises of Premier
- 8:52Speaker 1: organizational development. The term that the one thing that pops
- 8:56Speaker 1: out to me is the word diversity because we've seen
- 8:59Speaker 1: doing this endemic run, especially with the death of murder
- 9:02Speaker 1: of George Floyd and Minnesota, that the push for diversity
- 9:07Speaker 1: has been a huge calling card. You know, that's probably
- 9:11Speaker 1: one of the reasons why Kamala Harris was chosen as
- 9:14Speaker 1: the vice president elect on the ticket for Joe Biden.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Was been tied to diversity. I see I see women
- 9:20Speaker 1: being elevated. I see men getting deals they didn't getting deal.
- 9:23Speaker 1: You know, the president of Free Farm, she's female ABC.
- 9:28Speaker 1: You know digital all, there's a lot of African Americans
- 9:30Speaker 1: who are ascending the latter and that word diversity really
- 9:34Speaker 1: pops out. So during this time, how has the word
- 9:37Speaker 1: how have you? I wouldn't say the word benefit how
- 9:40Speaker 1: have you gotten calls to assist and an enhancing diversity platform?
- 9:45Speaker 1: Talk about it over. How has been different for the
- 9:48Speaker 1: term diversity in the corporate and entertainment world. Oh yeah,
- 9:53Speaker 1: I mean, you know, my business partner and I, Crystal Khalil.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I talked about her as well as my own journey.
- 10:02Speaker 1: You know, when I was in the corporate arena, I
- 10:05Speaker 1: was in senior leadership UM for News Corporation, which is
- 10:09Speaker 1: a um Fox parent company for all of the Fox affiliates.
- 10:15Speaker 1: And you know, diversity is such a challenged conversation in
- 10:26Speaker 1: this country. We have experienced George Floyd and that tragedy,
- 10:32Speaker 1: among so many others. But it's like I talked with
- 10:35Speaker 1: my partner, Christop Khalil, who is the first African American
- 10:41Speaker 1: executive pro portion. She's no longer there, but what it
- 10:45Speaker 1: took to have that part of her leadership narrative and
- 10:50Speaker 1: what it takes for our diverse colleagues and peers to
- 10:57Speaker 1: be recognized. It's it's quite interesting that often they've already
- 11:03Speaker 1: done half of the work that they deserve but have
- 11:08Speaker 1: not received the benefit of So in with all of
- 11:13Speaker 1: this happening, what our firm has seen is you know
- 11:18Speaker 1: a lot of companies saying we don't know how to
- 11:21Speaker 1: have this conversation. We're seeing means where it's saying white
- 11:26Speaker 1: people help, and we're seeing UM colleagues that there's something
- 11:32Speaker 1: different about the way they're coming to work today, there's
- 11:35Speaker 1: something different about their temperament and the sadness of still
- 11:42Speaker 1: seeing the casual nature of a George Floyd's death. And
- 11:47Speaker 1: we don't know how to talk to them. We don't
- 11:49Speaker 1: know what to say, we don't know what to ask,
- 11:52Speaker 1: we don't know what to do. And thankfully, UM, we've
- 11:56Speaker 1: had some really great conversations with corporations who've reached out
- 12:01Speaker 1: and said can you help? And what we said is
- 12:06Speaker 1: how connected are you to the solution that you're seeking?
- 12:12Speaker 1: Are you stuck? Are you refusing to move? Where are you?
- 12:16Speaker 1: And can we partner with you to answer the tough
- 12:19Speaker 1: question so we see what's next. So Tenny twenty in
- 12:23Speaker 1: that space has been a blessing that many firms like ours,
- 12:30Speaker 1: not just ours, but many firms like ours with Sean
- 12:33Speaker 1: who are connected and committed to diversity, have been praying
- 12:37Speaker 1: for and now it's actually moving forward, right, And so
- 12:43Speaker 1: that's what that's what excited me, and uh, it doesn't
- 12:46Speaker 1: excite to be the role that President Trump has played
- 12:50Speaker 1: in the White House, you know. But what excites me
- 12:53Speaker 1: is that when white people in general admit their years
- 12:56Speaker 1: a problem not tied to the fact that they've been
- 12:59Speaker 1: forced there because of affirmative action or some legal legislation.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Because I've always believed that, you know, don't deny me
- 13:06Speaker 1: because of my color, give me, give me the opportunity
- 13:08Speaker 1: because of my skill. And that's all we're asking when
- 13:11Speaker 1: you start talking about diversity. Now we're gonna shift gears
- 13:14Speaker 1: to come by. Where I really brought you on the show,
- 13:16Speaker 1: was that you you kind of a friend of mine.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I wanna calling my friend of mine because I did
- 13:20Speaker 1: two movies with him. Will Packer thinking like a man,
- 13:22Speaker 1: think like a man too. And we go all the
- 13:25Speaker 1: way back to stump the stump, the uh stump the yard. Now,
- 13:30Speaker 1: you know, this weekly series is about following three couples
- 13:33Speaker 1: right who have a long term relationship and they have
- 13:36Speaker 1: not lived the ring on the finger to put the
- 13:38Speaker 1: ring the ring on the finger? Now, what attracted you
- 13:41Speaker 1: to you? Because that that's a key moment right there,
- 13:43Speaker 1: because you know, women are interesting because because men we
- 13:48Speaker 1: we we make decisions, we're we're, we're we're kind of
- 13:50Speaker 1: like I called satisfied animals, you know, in other words,
- 13:54Speaker 1: if it ain't broke, don't don't, don't mess with it word,
- 13:56Speaker 1: So what create change? If nobody just asking for change?
- 14:00Speaker 1: So we will ride out our relationship or a situation,
- 14:03Speaker 1: whether it's longest, it's not causing any disruption and how
- 14:07Speaker 1: pattern of what we're doing, We're gonna ride it out.
- 14:10Speaker 1: And sometimes women would allow that to happen and then't
- 14:13Speaker 1: want to create disruption because of fear of loss, of
- 14:15Speaker 1: fear of ending something that they believe in. But sometimes
- 14:19Speaker 1: you need disruption. And so when I when I read
- 14:21Speaker 1: about this show coming out, and then I also read
- 14:24Speaker 1: it it was being shot during the pandemic, I went, okay,
- 14:27Speaker 1: I gotta tract this now, I gotta I gotta find
- 14:29Speaker 1: up because you do all elvems right there, long term
- 14:32Speaker 1: relationship that don't have a that not have no sign
- 14:35Speaker 1: of commitment. When I said commitment, I'm talking about putting
- 14:37Speaker 1: the ring on that finger and you're shooting it doing
- 14:39Speaker 1: a pandemic. The floors you're got in the cold, the
- 14:42Speaker 1: beach that was that was loaded, Um, well you know
- 14:50Speaker 1: Will Packer. First of all, he is he is the
- 14:54Speaker 1: funniest dude. Oh my god, he is just a personality
- 15:00Speaker 1: it onto himself. What a great guy. Um, you know
- 15:04Speaker 1: saw the potential for this concept, and yes we shot
- 15:10Speaker 1: it in COVID. I you know, take my hat off
- 15:13Speaker 1: to the crew and to the executive producers because they
- 15:17Speaker 1: kept us safe. Um, they kept us tested, They kept
- 15:22Speaker 1: the the arena safe for us to do the work.
- 15:26Speaker 1: And I really appreciate that that that should not go
- 15:29Speaker 1: on set. But yeah, we have these couples who have
- 15:34Speaker 1: been in a relationship for a long time and the
- 15:37Speaker 1: question is are they stuck or refusing to move As
- 15:40Speaker 1: it relates to moving forward with with a ring with
- 15:44Speaker 1: an engagement that leads to marriage show, the premise of
- 15:48Speaker 1: the show is it's time. It's time to make a decision.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Either you are willing to put a ring on it,
- 15:56Speaker 1: or maybe this is not your happily ever after and
- 15:59Speaker 1: maybe you need to start a new situation somewhere else.
- 16:02Speaker 1: And good luck on that if that's the way you
- 16:04Speaker 1: choose to go. And I wanted to do the show
- 16:08Speaker 1: because I wanted to hold the space for folks to
- 16:12Speaker 1: really recognize that they're in the driver's seat of a
- 16:15Speaker 1: lot of the narrative, and that this process would help
- 16:21Speaker 1: them figure out where they really needed to be on
- 16:25Speaker 1: this critical question of is this who you should be
- 16:29Speaker 1: co creating your life with, is this who you should
- 16:32Speaker 1: be building a future with, or should you be doing
- 16:36Speaker 1: something else? So when it came across my desk, I
- 16:40Speaker 1: was excited. I was like, Wow, this is not going
- 16:45Speaker 1: to be fun um to help some people and hold
- 16:49Speaker 1: the space for them to do their relationships at another level,
- 16:53Speaker 1: but I believe it was going to give some people
- 16:55Speaker 1: hope that are experiencing this question in their own relationship
- 17:00Speaker 1: rushan or they're just in a relationship and they just
- 17:03Speaker 1: need some new tools to help them do the relationship better.
- 17:07Speaker 1: The measures doch Nicole uh and these three couples that
- 17:11Speaker 1: are featured, were you're part of the selection process or
- 17:13Speaker 1: they were always selected when they brought you on board. No,
- 17:17Speaker 1: I mean we talked about the folks and what was
- 17:20Speaker 1: necessary and what was needed, because you know, people come
- 17:25Speaker 1: into situation thinking the grass is greener, and usually they
- 17:31Speaker 1: have a list of what's greener. Right If you say, okay,
- 17:35Speaker 1: so what would be what would be better or what
- 17:38Speaker 1: what are you missing? They've got a proverbial list. So
- 17:42Speaker 1: then when people come into their lives that quote unquote
- 17:46Speaker 1: have the missing elements, then what do you do then?
- 17:51Speaker 1: What what is it calling for now as it relates
- 17:54Speaker 1: to your work, to really see is it those outside
- 17:58Speaker 1: things or is it's things going on within you that
- 18:02Speaker 1: needs to be worked out and worked out in this
- 18:04Speaker 1: relationship so that you can have something better than where
- 18:07Speaker 1: he started. So you know it was something And if
- 18:11Speaker 1: you watch it, I think we're moving to episode four
- 18:15Speaker 1: this week. Um, when you watch it, you really see
- 18:20Speaker 1: what it looks like to call all those things forward
- 18:23Speaker 1: and say, no, let's not talk about it anymore. Let's
- 18:26Speaker 1: be about it and see what we're really gonna do.
- 18:28Speaker 1: And that's really the key. Here's the thing I al
- 18:30Speaker 1: would like to tell people, especially when you're getting into
- 18:33Speaker 1: reality shows. You know, when reality shows first came out,
- 18:36Speaker 1: was a lot of fighting going on, with throwing bottles
- 18:38Speaker 1: and busting each other side of the head. It really
- 18:40Speaker 1: was deplorable for Black America to be on TV because
- 18:43Speaker 1: we were fighting all the time. We were angry and angry, angry,
- 18:47Speaker 1: especially a lot of the women. They were always shouting
- 18:49Speaker 1: cousin and pulling hair and all that stuff that was
- 18:51Speaker 1: the portrayal of early first out. Uh, they felt that
- 18:56Speaker 1: the storylines had to be violent when it came to
- 18:59Speaker 1: black storylines. That's why I really like the show. That
- 19:01Speaker 1: what I'm starting to watch, and they appealed to me.
- 19:03Speaker 1: But it still can lead to relationship issues being halted
- 19:07Speaker 1: and treated in the negative. Like for instance, we've seen
- 19:10Speaker 1: the melody and whole relationship in on their TV show
- 19:14Speaker 1: on on Network because the fact that her husband was
- 19:18Speaker 1: another relationship and so that ended in the divorce. And
- 19:23Speaker 1: so when you become a host of the other of
- 19:25Speaker 1: a show. And there's nothing wrong with these couples. These
- 19:28Speaker 1: are three couples that came on. Okay, they were living
- 19:31Speaker 1: their lives fine. You know, they were whether they had
- 19:33Speaker 1: a ring on it or not, they were cool. They
- 19:35Speaker 1: were cool with it. Now, isn't there a certain amount
- 19:37Speaker 1: of responsibility did you hold yourself accountable to to make
- 19:41Speaker 1: sure that you're not you know, I guess using television
- 19:45Speaker 1: as a tool for ratings, but not but by not
- 19:48Speaker 1: being a create a dysfunctional relationship for these couples where
- 19:52Speaker 1: they end unnecessarily do to the TV. Yeah, I mean absolutely,
- 19:58Speaker 1: you know, the interest same thing for me is, you know,
- 20:02Speaker 1: I was offered other um television opportunities that I didn't
- 20:08Speaker 1: feel really spoke to how I lived my life, what
- 20:12Speaker 1: I think is important, and my brand of really trying
- 20:16Speaker 1: to help people in their relationships, in their leadership, in
- 20:22Speaker 1: their business moved towards the vision that's valuable to them
- 20:27Speaker 1: and value added to them. So all of those opportunities
- 20:31Speaker 1: didn't fit. One of the things that I really liked
- 20:35Speaker 1: about this one was I felt like, first of all,
- 20:41Speaker 1: for the couples that come on the show, everything is
- 20:45Speaker 1: not going the way they want and that's why they're
- 20:48Speaker 1: coming on the show. They really do have a presenting problem.
- 20:52Speaker 1: And the presenting problem is someone of these two is
- 20:57Speaker 1: not happy with where things are. So that checked the
- 21:02Speaker 1: first box. Is there something authentically happening, not just the
- 21:07Speaker 1: sensationalism or like you said, you know, folks are being
- 21:11Speaker 1: violent and all that stuff, because that doesn't fit who
- 21:14Speaker 1: I am. So yeah, there's a problem. Are they really
- 21:18Speaker 1: seeking to find a solution by doing some different things
- 21:23Speaker 1: than what they've done before? Yes? Are they bought into
- 21:27Speaker 1: the fact that there is a third party that can
- 21:31Speaker 1: hold a space for them to ask and answer some
- 21:34Speaker 1: of the critical questions. Yes, now do I believe that
- 21:39Speaker 1: I'm the third party that can help them do that?
- 21:43Speaker 1: And that really was my process, because you know, if
- 21:47Speaker 1: they're coming on for the sensationalism, that's not that's gonna
- 21:52Speaker 1: wear out. It's welcome soon. Because I ask a lot
- 21:56Speaker 1: of tough questions and I don't I don't have any
- 21:59Speaker 1: assess smit of what the answer is gonna be. None.
- 22:02Speaker 1: People say, well, Doc, do you know when you meet
- 22:05Speaker 1: them if they're gonna make it? No, And they're like,
- 22:10Speaker 1: how do you not low, I said, because people are
- 22:12Speaker 1: made of behaviors. You can meet people rushaun and I'm
- 22:16Speaker 1: sure you've done this. You need to be like, oh
- 22:19Speaker 1: they'll never laugh. Oh God, I'm gonna go to the
- 22:22Speaker 1: wedding and I'm gonna get dressed up, but this is
- 22:24Speaker 1: this is never gonna laugh. And then twenty five years
- 22:28Speaker 1: later and grandkids you're looking, you shake your head in
- 22:32Speaker 1: silence from I didn't believe it. I don't believe it.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Then you see some that are match made in heaven
- 22:41Speaker 1: and two years later you're like, what happened? So what
- 22:45Speaker 1: I've realized is people in relationships are made of behaviors.
- 22:51Speaker 1: And really, if they've got relationship friendly behaviors, they're gonna
- 22:55Speaker 1: have a greater shot if they're being honest, if they're communicating,
- 23:00Speaker 1: if they're finding tools. Listen, you need a hammer and
- 23:03Speaker 1: all you got is a screwdriver. The minute you find
- 23:06Speaker 1: out you've got a screwdriver and it needs a hammer,
- 23:09Speaker 1: what do you do? Are you the one that's gonna
- 23:11Speaker 1: keep using a screw driver for a hammer job, or
- 23:14Speaker 1: you're gonna go get a hammer? Right? I love you?
- 23:18Speaker 1: Come on, doc, Come on dog, you're throwing out the metaphors. Yeah,
- 23:22Speaker 1: you know if so so. Once you see their willingness
- 23:25Speaker 1: to be flexible and to do what's needed to fight
- 23:30Speaker 1: for what they have or what they want, that's when
- 23:34Speaker 1: you know if they've got a running shot. And I
- 23:38Speaker 1: say to people, hey, that's on them to decide. I
- 23:41Speaker 1: am just a catalyst to help them figure it out.
- 23:44Speaker 1: And that's what the show provided. And and when I
- 23:47Speaker 1: saw that that's what Will was really trying to create
- 23:50Speaker 1: with something real, I said, count me in, I'm with it.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Let's do it. She said. The word we all that's
- 23:57Speaker 1: the Atlanta's Busy Powerhouse produce was Sir will Packard. You've
- 24:01Speaker 1: seen let me talking all the topics and movies to
- 24:04Speaker 1: line of child murders, murders to basketball scammels. Now he
- 24:08Speaker 1: loved the show several years ago I hosted by my man,
- 24:10Speaker 1: the nephew Tommy called Owns Ready to Love. He's a
- 24:15Speaker 1: new relative, like she says. The fourth episode is coming up.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Please make sure you watch it. It's only Own network.
- 24:20Speaker 1: It's called put a Ring on It. It was shot
- 24:24Speaker 1: in Atlanta mansion during the pandemic, So you need to
- 24:27Speaker 1: watch it just for that. You just dadn't happen right now.
- 24:30Speaker 1: People interact doing the pandemic when they're holding hands, when
- 24:34Speaker 1: they're sitting across from each other, were across them other
- 24:36Speaker 1: dinner table, where they're sitting on opposite ends of the sofa.
- 24:39Speaker 1: How do pandemic couples interact even though they've been together
- 24:42Speaker 1: for a long time. I know my wife, Dr Nicole,
- 24:46Speaker 1: she still won't let me take out to a restaurant. No,
- 24:49Speaker 1: she will not let me do that. She will not
- 24:51Speaker 1: let me do my daughter the same way. They said,
- 24:53Speaker 1: we're dad, We're comfortable. Even so, a lot of people
- 24:57Speaker 1: have not accepted the mask wearing a social standpoint, and
- 25:01Speaker 1: like you said, it does cause people to do Paul's
- 25:04Speaker 1: moments in their lives to say, hey, that's I'm not
- 25:07Speaker 1: comfortable with that. So I'm pretty sure what were the
- 25:10Speaker 1: most are not trying to reveal in this series of
- 25:12Speaker 1: the episodes as air so far, what are some of
- 25:15Speaker 1: the moments? Do it that you realized there was a
- 25:17Speaker 1: pandemic moment that is aired so far in the first
- 25:20Speaker 1: three episodes, you know, just just like what you said, Um,
- 25:25Speaker 1: one of the things that was big for me that
- 25:27Speaker 1: you won't see in the episodes is you know you're
- 25:30Speaker 1: with a crew and you you know they're they're taking
- 25:35Speaker 1: care of all of the things that are necessary to
- 25:38Speaker 1: make the show happen, and you realize you've never seen
- 25:42Speaker 1: their faces. It's like, wait a minute, We've been working
- 25:46Speaker 1: together for weeks, we've been in the same dwelling, UM,
- 25:52Speaker 1: but I don't know what you look like. And that
- 25:54Speaker 1: occurred to me when I finally saw um one of
- 25:58Speaker 1: the guys um we can all and Mr G when
- 26:02Speaker 1: I saw him with his mask hanging down, and I
- 26:06Speaker 1: recognized in that moment, Wow, I've been working with these
- 26:11Speaker 1: amazingly talented people for weeks and if I saw them
- 26:15Speaker 1: on the streets months from now without a mask, I
- 26:20Speaker 1: would not know them. I was like, we are in
- 26:23Speaker 1: a different time. Stringent protocols, no hugs, no touching, all
- 26:30Speaker 1: the things we were not used by the crew that
- 26:33Speaker 1: was wiped down immediately and sprayed and wiped down immediately,
- 26:36Speaker 1: wearing the mask. Because in the end we all want
- 26:39Speaker 1: to go home, and she is the host. I would say,
- 26:42Speaker 1: hot new show, door, hot new show with a hot title,
- 26:45Speaker 1: put your ring on it, done by a hot big
- 26:48Speaker 1: time producing will packers, by hot host Dr the Cold
- 26:52Speaker 1: the beach. Check it out. I want to leave me.
- 26:56Speaker 1: I'm I'm gonna reach out to him. Put some banners
- 26:58Speaker 1: out there staring post yourself on my social media again.
- 27:00Speaker 1: I'm so glad we reconnected. And thank you for those compliments.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I really appreciate it. God has put me in a
- 27:06Speaker 1: position to help a lot of people, and then along
- 27:08Speaker 1: the way when I help them and they come back
- 27:09Speaker 1: and they compliment me, give me credit for something I
- 27:12Speaker 1: felt it was just my duty to do. And the
- 27:14Speaker 1: blessing that you are showing on TV today is a
- 27:18Speaker 1: blessing to me that I that I I did what
- 27:20Speaker 1: I felt I had to do for you and continue
- 27:23Speaker 1: to put your success. Okay, doctor, I appreciate you so much.
- 27:28Speaker 1: UM love to come back anytime. You will be back.
- 27:31Speaker 1: We got we got analyzes, we got for analyses coming
- 27:34Speaker 1: up here post talk stuff. You know. I got a
- 27:41Speaker 1: couple of idea. I'm gonna call you with a couple
- 27:43Speaker 1: of ideas to me and you and will need to
- 27:44Speaker 1: say that. I got another idea of a show, idea
- 27:47Speaker 1: that's been bothering me for years in the relationship genre.
- 27:50Speaker 1: So you're gonna hear from me this week. Okay. And
- 27:52Speaker 1: we said, Rich, I'm doing some DOCU said Chan, that
- 27:55Speaker 1: makes no sense. You need to stop calling me. Okay,
- 27:57Speaker 1: stick to what you do. Okay, man, and these people
- 28:00Speaker 1: produced people. But I think, let me tell you, when
- 28:06Speaker 1: humility needs humor, I doubt that I will be saying
- 28:12Speaker 1: you're talking about I doubt that. So I'm probably I
- 28:17Speaker 1: go to l A to marrow. So I think I'll
- 28:18Speaker 1: been flying to l A tomorrow. But this week, maybe Thursday,
- 28:21Speaker 1: I want to get on the phone with you. I
- 28:23Speaker 1: got an idea that it's been but it's been good
- 28:25Speaker 1: bothering me because it's been something that I've been dealing
- 28:29Speaker 1: with and I always thought about the what elf of life? When? When?
- 28:33Speaker 1: When we come to relationship, I want to run about you. Okay,
- 28:36Speaker 1: because you're on the Hot Show. I appreciate you big time.
