- 1:29Speaker 1: at Dr Marcus Andrews and the hit TV show The
- 1:32Speaker 1: Good Doctor. Now that's not why I have him on

- 1:38Speaker 1: be The Architect and Company, a premium health and wellness
- 1:41Speaker 1: king company. Please welcome to money making conversations. My favorite
- 1:44Speaker 1: man here, Harp. How are you doing here? Doing it
- 1:48Speaker 1: so well? So well? How are you I'm doing great? Man?
- 1:51Speaker 1: And saw you I saw you know come by four
- 1:53Speaker 1: or five WOODI Awards to go. Yeah, yeah, man, I
- 1:58Speaker 1: love the show. Um, I'm so proud of you for
- 2:01Speaker 1: for uh encouraging entrepreneurship, encouraging folks to to go out
- 2:06Speaker 1: and take risk and actually build businesses, create jobs and uh.
- 2:09Speaker 1: And that that's what I'm attempting to do myself. And
- 2:11Speaker 1: so it's great that that you're on this show encouraging
- 2:15Speaker 1: folks to do that. Well. I got to Hill first
- 2:16Speaker 1: of all. I wanted to before we love my way,
- 2:19Speaker 1: and I want to thank you for that love. That's
- 2:21Speaker 1: all I've ever seen you do. Man. You've always been
- 2:24Speaker 1: an ambassador man for uplift for the everyday person. That is.
- 2:28Speaker 1: That's kind of like a part of your DNA, correct
- 2:31Speaker 1: it is. You know what's crazy is I grew up
- 2:33Speaker 1: in a family where my grandfather was a pharmacist in Seneca,
- 2:39Speaker 1: South Carolina, which is a small town. He's the black
- 2:41Speaker 1: community all all around, and and he would try I
- 2:45Speaker 1: would see him trade potatoes, chickens for pharmaceuticals, and he
- 2:49Speaker 1: served the community, you know, he literally served the community.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And and my other grandfather, my father's side, was the
- 2:56Speaker 1: same way. And I learned that from them, and and
- 2:59Speaker 1: and I really, what's the use of of being here,
- 3:01Speaker 1: of traveling through this journey of life? Unless you actually
- 3:05Speaker 1: serve the community that you're a part of. And that's
- 3:07Speaker 1: that's that's just it makes me happy. Man. I get
- 3:10Speaker 1: as much out of it as as uh as I give.
- 3:13Speaker 1: And so so I'm proud of that, and I'm proud
- 3:15Speaker 1: that my family gave me that and believing this should
- 3:18Speaker 1: be proud of that because the fact that you know,
- 3:20Speaker 1: I come from humble beginnings and the whole purpose of
- 3:23Speaker 1: with my success is that I've just had this natural
- 3:26Speaker 1: entrepreneurs side of me and natural trying to uplift and
- 3:29Speaker 1: natural trying to be engaged and trying to create people.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And one of the interesting things that I want to
- 3:34Speaker 1: bring up here was that in I was diagnosed with
- 3:38Speaker 1: thyroid cancer. Really I didn't know that. Yeah, that's the
- 3:41Speaker 1: crazy part. And I just found that out. And that's
- 3:43Speaker 1: one of the reasons I wanted to bring you on
- 3:44Speaker 1: the show. And I know there, I know the product
- 3:46Speaker 1: we're about to talk about is tied to that, and
- 3:50Speaker 1: and the thing about it was that And I know
- 3:53Speaker 1: I only have you for one break, And I said, man,
- 3:54Speaker 1: when men you get to talk, and they're gonna be
- 3:56Speaker 1: said because we're gonna talk about so much. Once he
- 3:58Speaker 1: knows that we have that link because it changed my life, man,
- 4:01Speaker 1: because it also let me focus on where am I
- 4:05Speaker 1: at in my life? You know, because I don't care.
- 4:08Speaker 1: You know this for a fact. When they say the
- 4:09Speaker 1: word cancer, dude, your life stops. Yes, it stops. I
- 4:14Speaker 1: don't care who you are, how young you are, how
- 4:16Speaker 1: old you are, I don't care what. It's just the
- 4:18Speaker 1: sea word has been spoken in front of you, and
- 4:20Speaker 1: you're starting to put all everything in order, everything in order.
- 4:24Speaker 1: And and that is that because that happened to you,
- 4:27Speaker 1: it inspired you and tell us the respiration, and so
- 4:30Speaker 1: we can get into the whole reason why you're on
- 4:32Speaker 1: the show today. Yeah, So what happened when I was
- 4:35Speaker 1: diagnosed with thyroid cancer. My father had died of cancer,
- 4:39Speaker 1: pacreatic cancer, My uncle had died of lung cancer. My
- 4:43Speaker 1: grandfather had died of cancer. So so cancer obviously ran
- 4:46Speaker 1: in the mail of my family. So I was I
- 4:48Speaker 1: was very afraid and then ultimately did everything I could
- 4:52Speaker 1: to to to to deal with it. Had the surgery
- 4:56Speaker 1: all of that. President Obama. President Obama knew that this
- 5:00Speaker 1: had happened to me, um, you know, through our friendship,
- 5:03Speaker 1: and he he asked me if I would join the
- 5:05Speaker 1: President's Cancer Panel, which is a panel that makes recommendations
- 5:08Speaker 1: to the White House round cancer policy, there's always one
- 5:11Speaker 1: non scientist on the panel. So I joined this panel,
- 5:14Speaker 1: and what happened was all these scientists would come in
- 5:17Speaker 1: and say, listen, this isn't studied and it will never
- 5:20Speaker 1: be studied because of money and political reasons that I'll
- 5:23Speaker 1: talk to you about blah blah blah blah blah. But
- 5:25Speaker 1: we believe that a lot of the root cause of
- 5:27Speaker 1: cancer has to do with what we put on our skin.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Our skin is the largest organ in our bodys everything.
- 5:34Speaker 1: If you aid it, your endraconsystem, your liver, your kidneys
- 5:37Speaker 1: have to deal with it. And they said, the reason
- 5:39Speaker 1: why I will never be tested because the same companies
- 5:41Speaker 1: that make the lotions that contain the aluminums, the petroleums,
- 5:44Speaker 1: the parabin and the oils and all these things, the
- 5:46Speaker 1: same companies will make that are also the same companies
- 5:49Speaker 1: of the drug company. So they're never going to do
- 5:51Speaker 1: a long term study of the effects of their product
- 5:55Speaker 1: on on you. So it led me too to join
- 6:00Speaker 1: with a scientist. UH. We formulated products to two years
- 6:05Speaker 1: of formulation to create this company called be the Architect
- 6:08Speaker 1: dot Com because I always talk about all of us
- 6:10Speaker 1: are the architects of our own life. We can create
- 6:12Speaker 1: a life like an architect builds a building, but you
- 6:15Speaker 1: gotta start with a blueprint or a plan, and then
- 6:16Speaker 1: you've got to build a foundation, etcetera, just like an
- 6:19Speaker 1: architect approaches. So so that's why it's called be the
- 6:22Speaker 1: Architect dot Com. People can go to Hill Harper dot
- 6:24Speaker 1: com and actually see the product that we have. You know,
- 6:27Speaker 1: a ton of promotion, but basically the products are affordable,
- 6:31Speaker 1: premium quality products that don't contain any carcinogenic material. When
- 6:36Speaker 1: I say carson genumti, I'm talking about if lotions most
- 6:40Speaker 1: people are listening to us right now have on their shelf.
- 6:43Speaker 1: If you look at the back, it'll say aluminium in
- 6:46Speaker 1: some form on the back of that. Your body cannot
- 6:49Speaker 1: process aluminum. It cannot process it. But if you put
- 6:53Speaker 1: it on your skin, it goes into your liver, it
- 6:55Speaker 1: goes into your kidneys, and it impacts you your body.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Petroleum you're not meant to absorb literally motor oil. When
- 7:03Speaker 1: I'm calling you know, it's sad that old life petroleum
- 7:09Speaker 1: jelly is lly is a byproduct of oil. Yeah, we
- 7:14Speaker 1: we will will will put vasoline all over our bodies
- 7:17Speaker 1: and think that's healthy. It's horrible that your nose everything.
- 7:22Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Yeah, we'll put it, We'll
- 7:24Speaker 1: put it there. And then the worst one of all,
- 7:27Speaker 1: to be honest, is what they call baby oil. Because
- 7:30Speaker 1: it makes you think it's good for a baby, we'll
- 7:32Speaker 1: actually put it on babies. That is called the basis.
- 7:35Speaker 1: They call it mineral oil, which is another big lie.
- 7:38Speaker 1: It's nothing mineral about it. There's no minerals. What it
- 7:41Speaker 1: is is another petroleum byproduct. Okay it is. It is
- 7:47Speaker 1: horrendous for you, but yet it's cheap. They sell it
- 7:50Speaker 1: to the communities that that that have the least amount
- 7:53Speaker 1: of money, our communities, right, and they market it as
- 7:56Speaker 1: if it's good for babies, etcetera. So by product, I said, well,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I gotta come out with the center price. There's plenty
- 8:01Speaker 1: of organic products out there that are expensive, right, But
- 8:04Speaker 1: I said, I need to come out with some products
- 8:06Speaker 1: that that folks don't have to choose between food and
- 8:10Speaker 1: and and healthy products. It's a shame that that choice
- 8:13Speaker 1: is out there. So if you go to the site
- 8:15Speaker 1: Hill Harvard dot Com. You'll see be the architect UH
- 8:18Speaker 1: and Co. You'll see us, and you'll see that these
- 8:21Speaker 1: products are extremely healthy, but they're also extremely affordable the
- 8:25Speaker 1: same same price you paid for for other other products
- 8:28Speaker 1: that in the same category at Walgreen, CVS, Target, Walmart.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And it's something we should tell you. There's a a
- 8:35Speaker 1: female line and a male line, and that needs to
- 8:37Speaker 1: be really really brought up because I look through the
- 8:39Speaker 1: whole process that way. But I would tell you this,
- 8:42Speaker 1: that's very important because a lot of people think you can't.
- 8:45Speaker 1: You know, female and male skin tones, embodied needs and
- 8:50Speaker 1: all needs inherent needs are totally different. And I hate
- 8:52Speaker 1: problems to try to make it all in one. That's
- 8:54Speaker 1: where I really respected your whole brain when I saw
- 8:57Speaker 1: that when he's owed something that's really good because he's
- 9:00Speaker 1: not trying to make this all in want just bother
- 9:02Speaker 1: the shampoo work for women and they bother um all
- 9:05Speaker 1: you're saying it's different, and explain to people why that's important.
- 9:09Speaker 1: So it's important because here's the deal. When you when
- 9:12Speaker 1: when you put oil or you put anything on your body,
- 9:16Speaker 1: it go. It impacts the pH of your skin, which
- 9:20Speaker 1: is you know you you you want your skin to
- 9:23Speaker 1: be soft. All of us wanted to be soft and
- 9:25Speaker 1: wanted to be healthy, drying not drying ashy. And the
- 9:29Speaker 1: oil the key oil that we use. It's called wild
- 9:32Speaker 1: bab oil, wild bab oil, and it's from Africa. It's
- 9:36Speaker 1: got properties of vitamin A, D C. It's from they
- 9:40Speaker 1: call it the tree of life in Africa, and it's
- 9:42Speaker 1: the Wildbab tree and the oil comes from a seed there.
- 9:46Speaker 1: It's grown in Malawi, Northern Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, et cetera.
- 9:51Speaker 1: And we're one of the first products in the United
- 9:53Speaker 1: States to import wildbab oil and infuse it into our products.
- 9:58Speaker 1: We think the oil is great for make your leave
- 10:00Speaker 1: for skin with melanin. And when you have melanin in
- 10:04Speaker 1: your skin to need um, the need shift they change.
- 10:07Speaker 1: We have less. We tend to have less vitamin D
- 10:10Speaker 1: in our system. Vitamin D is one of the healthiest
- 10:12Speaker 1: properties you can have. We tend to have less vitaminded
- 10:15Speaker 1: because the melanin in our skin and so therefore, supplementing
- 10:20Speaker 1: vitamin D and having oils that already naturally contain vitamin
- 10:24Speaker 1: D properties in the oil helps you get that through
- 10:27Speaker 1: your skin. UH and you don't have to lay out
- 10:29Speaker 1: in the sun all day. That's very true. Now, so
- 10:34Speaker 1: go ahead. Now I'm about to say I wanted to
- 10:35Speaker 1: let people know about the subscription. I apologize for cutting
- 10:38Speaker 1: you up. I want, I don't, I want, I don't
- 10:39Speaker 1: want to be really remiss and let people know that
- 10:42Speaker 1: I love the fact that you offer a subscription component
- 10:46Speaker 1: because because here's the deal with my wife, she gets
- 10:49Speaker 1: mad at me because I go to the store or
- 10:51Speaker 1: CVS or wal gree and I buy four or five
- 10:54Speaker 1: or something, and she go, why are you just crowded? After? Well, see,
- 10:57Speaker 1: I like the factor you offer your subscription. That way
- 11:00Speaker 1: comes in on the on the time I'm gonna run out,
- 11:02Speaker 1: and I love that option. Man, I gotta get right out.
- 11:06Speaker 1: You know, we're at the point now where folks are
- 11:08Speaker 1: shifting their buying habits, not just showing up at the
- 11:11Speaker 1: stores anymore and saying I'm gonna pull this off the shelf.
- 11:15Speaker 1: So what we wanted to do is created an automatic
- 11:19Speaker 1: way that you get a box every two months, automatically
- 11:22Speaker 1: in a cool, great way to give gift somebody. Now
- 11:25Speaker 1: we're in the holiday season, a lot of a lot
- 11:28Speaker 1: of brothers out there come on a lot of brothers
- 11:32Speaker 1: are really taking care of their grooming needs the way
- 11:35Speaker 1: they should. And if you're assist out there, who has
- 11:38Speaker 1: a niece, I mean a nephew or a son, or
- 11:41Speaker 1: a boyfriend or a husband or a baby daddy or
- 11:44Speaker 1: whatever categories this time time, you know, buy a subscription
- 11:50Speaker 1: so for an entire year at a very affordable price,
- 11:53Speaker 1: they'll they'll have their whole grooming stuff on lock. They're good.
- 11:57Speaker 1: They have shaving kids, shaving oil, bump fighter, they'll have
- 12:00Speaker 1: the skincare, they have the shampoo again, bump fighter fighter absolutely,
- 12:08Speaker 1: And you know, obviously we don't want a key Lloyd.
- 12:10Speaker 1: We have different needs because our hair curls before it
- 12:13Speaker 1: hits the top of the skin. So it curls, so
- 12:15Speaker 1: we need different things to open up the skin to
- 12:17Speaker 1: make sure the hair and the follicle can make it
- 12:20Speaker 1: out until that's what bump fighters do. Some bump fighters
- 12:23Speaker 1: have acid. We don't choose to put acid in our
- 12:25Speaker 1: bump fighters because we don't believe you need to be
- 12:28Speaker 1: burning your skin to have healthy So what I'm doing
- 12:32Speaker 1: for everybody, for everybody who's listening, I've decided to do
- 12:36Speaker 1: a promotional code because I respect this audience. UM, we're
- 12:40Speaker 1: gonna do if you If you put in the promotional
- 12:42Speaker 1: code try me twenty try me twenty M on the website,
- 12:48Speaker 1: you'll get off the off. Can you do? Can you do? Okay?
- 12:54Speaker 1: Because I got a Facebook page Money Main Conversation, and
- 12:56Speaker 1: I also have my my personal Facebook page, there's almost
- 12:59Speaker 1: seven in a thousand followers. Please tell your team to
- 13:03Speaker 1: give me of a banner, a social media banner that
- 13:07Speaker 1: says that on there, and I will post that my
- 13:10Speaker 1: friend more. I posted in November, and I come back
- 13:13Speaker 1: and post it again in December on my personal fan
- 13:16Speaker 1: page because this is Christmas time. I know exactly what
- 13:20Speaker 1: you're trying to do here with a product that cared about.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I said, I love the fact that you know. First
- 13:25Speaker 1: of all, you're smart, You've done your work. Now. The
- 13:27Speaker 1: only thing I was kind of wondering why when I
- 13:30Speaker 1: went to the male side, which is H two L.
- 13:32Speaker 1: The female problem is j u A, why I didn't
- 13:35Speaker 1: do it? Your Harper? Why not see your Harper face?
- 13:41Speaker 1: I saw this because why come on, guy, you great
- 13:45Speaker 1: scarre Why is you see your face? That's a great point.
- 13:48Speaker 1: You know what we're what we're attempting to do here
- 13:51Speaker 1: is not build it off just my celebrity and the
- 13:54Speaker 1: idea thing leverages. You know. Here here is this is
- 13:57Speaker 1: I want to be taken seriously as a business its owner,
- 14:00Speaker 1: and not just some celeb who people think they slapped
- 14:03Speaker 1: his name on a product. Stop. Now, this is what
- 14:07Speaker 1: I do. This is what I do branding and marketing. Now.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I see Jennifer Little Pears, I see all these stars
- 14:13Speaker 1: out here on these face Beyonce. But you know the difference.
- 14:19Speaker 1: The difference is they don't make their products. They're just
- 14:23Speaker 1: they're they're just private labeling about this. I'm manufacted. This
- 14:29Speaker 1: is my manufacturing company. It's my manufactured all in the
- 14:33Speaker 1: USA were jobs and and so I'm not private labeling
- 14:38Speaker 1: this product. That's why I have control over all the
- 14:42Speaker 1: made in some factories Hill Harper label on it. This
- 14:46Speaker 1: is my company, UM and and my partners and we
- 14:50Speaker 1: manufactured at our manufacturing company. And so that's why I'm
- 14:53Speaker 1: so proud. And that's why it's like, folks, if you want,
- 14:56Speaker 1: if you want something good to support, this is the story.
- 14:58Speaker 1: That's what I'm telling. And and also I'll make this point,
- 15:01Speaker 1: I met with an expert, din't care and and I
- 15:05Speaker 1: wanted his advice, just like all of us, we need
- 15:07Speaker 1: advice and help along our our journey. And he told
- 15:10Speaker 1: me Hill, he said, at this price point, you're gonna fail.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Because why do you say that? He said, well, what
- 15:17Speaker 1: you don't realize is that in the skincare area, people
- 15:20Speaker 1: have been brained brainwashed. And I said, what do you
- 15:22Speaker 1: mean brainwash? He said, well, people believe that if it's
- 15:25Speaker 1: not expensive, it can't be good. And then he broke
- 15:28Speaker 1: out this little one ounce thing, a little thing of oil,
- 15:32Speaker 1: uh things. You know. He calls it a serum. He said,
- 15:36Speaker 1: how much do you He said, how much do you
- 15:38Speaker 1: think it costs me to make this serum? I said,
- 15:40Speaker 1: I have no idea. He said, well, how much you
- 15:44Speaker 1: do I charge for? I said, well, on the box
- 15:45Speaker 1: right here says Manufacturraduction retail Is says he has that's
- 15:50Speaker 1: how much we charge for. And he says it's my
- 15:53Speaker 1: best seller. I said, well, how much does it cost?
- 15:54Speaker 1: He says it cost me two dollars and ninety seven
- 15:56Speaker 1: cents and and half of that is the gold kitgen
- 16:01Speaker 1: and the bottle. And I said, are you kidding me?
- 16:04Speaker 1: He said, yeah, that's my margin. I said, that's fantastic.
- 16:07Speaker 1: But you know what, here's the deal. Um. I believe
- 16:10Speaker 1: in my people that once they get educated about how
- 16:13Speaker 1: you how you all are ripping them all care um,
- 16:17Speaker 1: how you all are are literally you know the new
- 16:20Speaker 1: snake oil salesman, that they'll they'll they'll they'll read the ingredients,
- 16:25Speaker 1: they'll understand that there's healthy there. I'm providing a healthy
- 16:29Speaker 1: product at a great price, and they'll buy my product.
- 16:32Speaker 1: And so maybe I'm taking the tortoise approach, the long
- 16:34Speaker 1: term approach because listen, me, giving away is a big
- 16:37Speaker 1: hit because my margins aren't that high in this In
- 16:41Speaker 1: this case, I'm keeping my costs low to let people
- 16:45Speaker 1: purchase a product that they deserve, to have a healthy
- 16:49Speaker 1: alternative at the same price point as the luber dorms
- 16:53Speaker 1: and as the other priceline. You know, they don't they
- 16:55Speaker 1: shouldn't have to pay fifty dollars for a conditioner you
- 16:58Speaker 1: know which most organs and conditions forty You know, here's
