Speaker 1: Direct from Hollywood with Ryan Seacrest. When Taylor Swift caught
0:04
Speaker 1: up with us recently, she told her she does have
0:05
Speaker 1: plans to rerecord all her back catalog in order to
0:08
Speaker 1: own the masters, and it was an idea sparked by
0:10
Speaker 1: a tweet made by Kelly Clarkson. She encouraged her to
0:13
Speaker 1: do so, and it went viral, created a huge debate,
0:15
Speaker 1: and turns out Kelly's tweet was actually inspired by another
0:17
Speaker 1: artist who happens to be in Kelly's family, her mother
0:19
Speaker 1: in law, Reba McIntyre. Kelly told Jim fell I wasn't
0:22
Speaker 1: trying to defend or offend anyone with that tweet. It
0:25
Speaker 1: was more that Reeva told me she did that she
0:27
Speaker 1: wanted to own her masters. She recut all her music,
0:30
Speaker 1: she used the same musician, same everything. Taylor is that
0:32
Speaker 1: kind of artist who's been writing since she was a
0:34
Speaker 1: little girl. It's kind of her diary, so I totally
0:36
Speaker 1: get why she wants to do it. Kelly Clarkson Show
0:38
Speaker 1: Weekdays on NBC. That's Direct from Hollywood,
