- 0:51Speaker 3: How you doing, Stacey?
- 0:52Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Now, brand strategists, you know, just get out the box.
- 0:57Speaker 2: You know, I get a lot of people my show
- 0:58Speaker 2: talking about brands.
- 1:00Speaker 3: What is a brand strategist? Stacey goolog?
- 1:04Speaker 4: So when I.
- 1:05Speaker 5: Say brand strategist, is that now we're in an age
- 1:08Speaker 5: that everybody has a brand or everybody wants to have
- 1:11Speaker 5: a brand, but they don't know how.
- 1:14Speaker 4: To curate it the correct way.
- 1:15Speaker 5: So just getting online and just going I'm a brand,
- 1:18Speaker 5: and you have no rhyme or rhythm of what you're doing,
- 1:22Speaker 5: how you're presenting yourself, what's the end goal of it?
- 1:25Speaker 5: You miss out on the opportunity to bring more awareness
- 1:28Speaker 5: to your business or even if you're an influencer. You
- 1:31Speaker 5: have a brand, but if you don't have the nuts
- 1:34Speaker 5: and boats to it to be able to appropriately put
- 1:38Speaker 5: it together, people be thinking all over the place. So
- 1:41Speaker 5: for me, I try to take people and say, listen,
- 1:44Speaker 5: you are the brand, but you have to put the
- 1:46Speaker 5: brand together in a way that people can articulate what
- 1:49Speaker 5: are you doing. So that's what I help people do
- 1:52Speaker 5: is let's hone in on what you're doing so you
- 1:54Speaker 5: don't look like you're all over the place.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Right, which is true because the word brand is very
- 1:58Speaker 2: popular and everybody do it. And social media, you see
- 2:02Speaker 2: the evolution of it. Used to be just putting your
- 2:05Speaker 2: vacation pictures on there and pictures of food. Now people
- 2:08Speaker 2: are getting a bigger awareness that you know, what can
- 2:13Speaker 2: show up on your social media.
- 2:14Speaker 1: You can damage what you're doing in real life and
- 2:16Speaker 1: also your job opportunities.
- 2:18Speaker 2: So if somebody somebody comes to your stacy, what is
- 2:22Speaker 2: the process of coming to you and sitting down being
- 2:25Speaker 2: a potential client of with your agency.
- 2:29Speaker 5: So first for me, I do a discovery call because
- 2:32Speaker 5: I want to know what do you want to do
- 2:35Speaker 5: or what are you already doing and where do you
- 2:37Speaker 5: want to go from there? So we do a discovery
- 2:39Speaker 5: call to get more information about the business and about
- 2:42Speaker 5: the person because to me, if you are the one
- 2:45Speaker 5: that's starting a business, there's a why.
- 2:47Speaker 4: What is your why?
- 2:48Speaker 5: If you're just doing it for money, that's not going
- 2:50Speaker 5: to work because as we know as an entrepreneur, there's
- 2:53Speaker 5: a lot that goes into even getting to really make
- 2:56Speaker 5: it some money.
- 2:56Speaker 4: So we do a discovery call.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Then I do an audit, especially if it's with their
- 3:00Speaker 5: social media. I go through their social media to see
- 3:03Speaker 5: what have you been posting, because again we started off
- 3:06Speaker 5: if you've been on there a while with just vacation
- 3:09Speaker 5: and looking pretty and videos, and then now you're starting
- 3:12Speaker 5: a business, so it's.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Like, okay, where does the two cut off?
- 3:15Speaker 5: So I like to go all the way to you
- 3:17Speaker 5: when you first first got on social media, and then as.
- 3:21Speaker 4: I scroll up to see where you started.
- 3:23Speaker 5: Your business, is everything aligned with what you're doing now?
- 3:27Speaker 5: And so doing that audit in that discovery is the
- 3:30Speaker 5: first place we start because I need to understand you
- 3:33Speaker 5: and your business.
- 3:34Speaker 2: So it's important if I'm hearing you correctly. There has
- 3:37Speaker 2: to be a business social media and a personal social media.
- 3:41Speaker 4: You can have well, yes, you.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Can have two separate ones. You should have two separate ones.
- 3:46Speaker 5: But like for me when I started to be honest,
- 3:48Speaker 5: I had all these different social medias and they're hard
- 3:50Speaker 5: to keep up with, so some of them I did
- 3:53Speaker 5: blend together. So sometime with business you are the brand.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Again when we talk about brains, if I sell skincare,
- 3:59Speaker 5: I can have that on my personal page because it's
- 4:01Speaker 5: a part of my life. The story I'm trying to
- 4:03Speaker 5: tell you is that I'm into beauty, I'm into skincare.
- 4:07Speaker 5: So you can intertwine those two as a brand and
- 4:11Speaker 5: as a personal But if you offer something like.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Even real estate, you can put together. But oftentimes you
- 4:18Speaker 4: don't need a lot of pages.
- 4:20Speaker 5: But I would suggest one business page and then one
- 4:23Speaker 5: personal page.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Right, that's important. And so how did you get look
- 4:26Speaker 2: at a little background on you stage here? How did
- 4:28Speaker 2: you get into this business? You're an attractive young lady
- 4:32Speaker 2: that the education took you here? Did the experience put
- 4:37Speaker 2: you in the position to.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Start your your agency? How did this come about? Oh?
- 4:42Speaker 4: How much time we got?
- 4:43Speaker 5: No?
- 4:43Speaker 2: So I started out, this is your episode, now, this
- 4:46Speaker 2: is your room flowing down, and let everybody understand whose
- 4:49Speaker 2: Stacy Golar is?
- 4:50Speaker 4: Okay? So for me, I'm from Chicago. I had a
- 4:54Speaker 4: child at.
- 4:54Speaker 5: Twenty years old, which propelled me into the workforce because
- 4:57Speaker 5: I had another human being to take care of. I
- 5:00Speaker 5: didn't go to college, so I didn't, you know, have
- 5:03Speaker 5: that major or that study like what I wanted to do.
- 5:06Speaker 4: So I immediately went into corporate.
- 5:09Speaker 5: I went into corporate companies as an executive assistant. As
- 5:12Speaker 5: I worked for those companies, and I knew this thing
- 5:15Speaker 5: for me.
- 5:16Speaker 4: I started working with a relative that.
- 5:18Speaker 5: Was in the entertainment industry, and I was providing the
- 5:21Speaker 5: same type of services for her like I did a
- 5:24Speaker 5: corporate in the corporate walls. So for me, I started thinking,
- 5:28Speaker 5: like she paying me, this might be your job, you know.
- 5:32Speaker 5: So I started my own business doing event planning and
- 5:34Speaker 5: personal assisting.
- 5:35Speaker 4: So I started assisting.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Celebrities and that just kind of transform into something else
- 5:42Speaker 5: because all the things that I was doing, like helping
- 5:44Speaker 5: them run their business, keeping them on point, even doing
- 5:48Speaker 5: some PR stuff that I had never really learned. But
- 5:50Speaker 5: as you find yourself around different people, I'm a sponge,
- 5:55Speaker 5: I pick up different things that helped me, you know,
- 5:59Speaker 5: fast forward to where I am now. So I've been
- 6:01Speaker 5: in radio, I've been in marketing, I've been I've tasted everything,
- 6:06Speaker 5: and so when it came down to where we are now,
- 6:09Speaker 5: we're moving into a digital age, where we're here in
- 6:12Speaker 5: a digital age, and for me, I don't want to
- 6:14Speaker 5: be left behind. I don't want, as I'm mature, to
- 6:16Speaker 5: be lost and not know how to still be able
- 6:19Speaker 5: to recreate. So all those experiences I had weren't educational
- 6:24Speaker 5: far at school, but I was able to, you know,
- 6:27Speaker 5: take a hold to everything and everybody, including you, that
- 6:30Speaker 5: I've worked with, and then meshed that into where I
- 6:33Speaker 5: am today.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Okay, which leads to my next question, what is a
- 6:36Speaker 1: digital brand specialist?
- 6:39Speaker 4: So we're in a digital world.
- 6:41Speaker 5: Everything is digital, So I primarily like I have another
- 6:46Speaker 5: side where I deal with gen X women because I'm
- 6:48Speaker 5: a gen xwoman and I know that with social media
- 6:51Speaker 5: again we are not using it appropriately. To me, now
- 6:55Speaker 5: you can get paid for being on social media, and
- 6:57Speaker 5: if you have a business, you can utilize that as
- 6:59Speaker 5: well to make money. So my goal is to show
- 7:02Speaker 5: people that are either on there and not maximizing it,
- 7:05Speaker 5: or want to pivot into more of a digitized business,
- 7:09Speaker 5: or being able to use digital and social media and
- 7:13Speaker 5: web to be able to drive more potential clients to
- 7:17Speaker 5: the business.
- 7:18Speaker 4: It's we have to shift. AI has taken over and
- 7:21Speaker 4: AI can be your friend as well as it can
- 7:23Speaker 4: be too much. But I don't want people to be
- 7:25Speaker 4: afraid of it because you don't understand it.
- 7:27Speaker 5: So my goal is to help you understand it and
- 7:29Speaker 5: utilize it for your benefit.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Now let's talk about that AI. You know, does AI?
- 7:37Speaker 2: Is it an asset for you or is a competitor
- 7:41Speaker 2: for what you do?
- 7:43Speaker 3: Stacey?
- 7:45Speaker 4: To me, it's an.
- 7:46Speaker 5: Asset because I utilize it. That's my boyfriend, Chap, that's
- 7:50Speaker 5: my boyfriend. I get in there and you can you
- 7:53Speaker 5: can make it to use us like hate Stacey. I'm like, hey, baby,
- 7:55Speaker 5: you know, but no, for me, I utilize it to
- 7:59Speaker 5: enhance my big business. I don't solely rely on it
- 8:02Speaker 5: because I'm from the old school. So I believe in
- 8:05Speaker 5: human connection. I believe in you can sound like AI
- 8:08Speaker 5: if you just use everything it says. It's just to
- 8:11Speaker 5: me a starting point, Like I'm a writer myself, but
- 8:14Speaker 5: it kind of cuts down the time of what I'm trying.
- 8:16Speaker 4: To write because it's AI.
- 8:19Speaker 5: There are the points of AI kind of taking over
- 8:23Speaker 5: certain people's jobs and stuff.
- 8:24Speaker 4: And that's another reason why you have to.
- 8:26Speaker 5: Stay in the know, because if you don't want to
- 8:29Speaker 5: be left behind, you have to learn how to be
- 8:31Speaker 5: friends with AI. They have AI influencers now, so instead
- 8:35Speaker 5: of me getting somebody to take this and go Hi,
- 8:37Speaker 5: I'm using Stacy Jil. They have AI influences to do that.
- 8:41Speaker 5: So now for me, how do I make an AI influencer?
- 8:45Speaker 5: That's why I'm thinking, if they're going to start taking
- 8:47Speaker 5: the opportunities away from human people, then how do I
- 8:51Speaker 5: learn how to create an AI influence or use AI
- 8:55Speaker 5: for my business? So it's a love hate there. I'm
- 8:57Speaker 5: not with the robots and all that. I definitely feel
- 9:01Speaker 5: like the Chat GBT, the Google Gemini, the Google pro beads,
- 9:05Speaker 5: all those different programs can be very beneficial in your business.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Right now, let's talk about this because you talked about
- 9:10Speaker 2: earlier about auditing the social media. Now that's work and
- 9:16Speaker 2: the people who have it on there, let's talk about
- 9:19Speaker 2: how they are. How they are is their resistance and
- 9:23Speaker 2: that and when you start auditing, talking about making these
- 9:26Speaker 2: adjustments because like you said, you go back to when
- 9:29Speaker 2: it first started and that's a lot of history. How
- 9:32Speaker 2: do you talk to a client and make these adjustments
- 9:36Speaker 2: and sit them down saying this can't be on your
- 9:39Speaker 2: social media if you're doing.
- 9:40Speaker 4: This, I don't.
- 9:42Speaker 5: And here's the thing. When we audited, I don't mind
- 9:45Speaker 5: having old stuff on there because it tells a story.
- 9:49Speaker 4: For me. It tells a story. So it's like, okay, Stacey,
- 9:52Speaker 4: this was twenty eleven. I see how you look. I
- 9:55Speaker 4: see what you were doing.
- 9:56Speaker 5: Then does that align now? Sometimes it doesn't. So those
- 9:59Speaker 5: are the things I'm like, if you're turking on that,
- 10:01Speaker 5: I'm gonna need you to take that off because of
- 10:03Speaker 5: what the business that you're doing now. But if your
- 10:06Speaker 5: story starts back where you see me. You see that
- 10:09Speaker 5: I came from Chicago. You saw when I got into radio,
- 10:12Speaker 5: you saw that, you saw the escalation and the elevation
- 10:15Speaker 5: of what I was doing. So it's like she's been
- 10:17Speaker 5: doing this a long time. That tells a story. But
- 10:20Speaker 5: if you in between that and you're doing your drinking
- 10:23Speaker 5: and you're doing that, and nothing's wrong with that, But
- 10:26Speaker 5: if a business or a client is doing the same
- 10:29Speaker 5: thing I'm doing, it could make a person a little
- 10:32Speaker 5: bit judgmental, you know, So I just kind of go through.
- 10:35Speaker 5: I don't really have any clients that had wilding out
- 10:40Speaker 5: things on there because it does take time to remove
- 10:43Speaker 5: some of that stuff. So if they do, we have
- 10:46Speaker 5: I suggest removing it. But if it is just telling
- 10:49Speaker 5: a story from rags the riches, in a sense, it's
- 10:53Speaker 5: a story.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Right. How does one get in touch with you, Stacey?
- 10:57Speaker 5: They can go to bloom create of Agency on Instagram.
- 11:01Speaker 5: My website is bloom Creative Agency Agency is AGC.
- 11:06Speaker 4: Why I didn't they didn't let me have.
- 11:07Speaker 5: To eat agency dot com?
- 11:11Speaker 2: You no problem now because of well, you know, competition
- 11:14Speaker 2: out there and people getting these these names and locking
- 11:17Speaker 2: them down. You know, we always talk about brand and
- 11:20Speaker 2: we always talk about refresh. Kind of talking about it
- 11:22Speaker 2: right now, brand refresh one. Because you are just an
- 11:26Speaker 2: outgoing person, you meet clients.
- 11:28Speaker 3: How do you meet your clients? In general?
- 11:31Speaker 2: Stacey and bring them on board as potential long term
- 11:35Speaker 2: or short term clients.
- 11:36Speaker 3: How do you meet your clients?
- 11:38Speaker 1: Do you have social media blasts that you put out
- 11:41Speaker 1: there as a networking how do you meet clients?
- 11:45Speaker 5: For me, it's really been word of mouth and connections,
- 11:48Speaker 5: and that's why I want people to know that's still real.
- 11:50Speaker 5: Social Media is great and it helps you reach people globally.
- 11:54Speaker 5: It does, and I've gotten some clients off of social media,
- 11:57Speaker 5: but mine are mostly word of mouth.
- 11:59Speaker 4: They're like, oh, I'm this girl.
- 12:01Speaker 5: She does social media and she you know, so people
- 12:04Speaker 5: are referring me, which is great. But I do want
- 12:08Speaker 5: to take advantage of social media myself because that's how
- 12:11Speaker 5: let's keep it real.
- 12:12Speaker 4: That's how your business grows too, because the.
- 12:14Speaker 5: More clients that I bring in and I don't want
- 12:18Speaker 5: all clients, Let's be clear. I don't want all clients
- 12:20Speaker 5: because what I do is from passion because I've always
- 12:23Speaker 5: been a person that believes in elevation and I'm a
- 12:26Speaker 5: person that believes.
- 12:27Speaker 4: I see all these women and they have business.
- 12:28Speaker 5: I'm like, y'all need to be making money, Like I'm serious,
- 12:31Speaker 5: Like if you're just on here playing around, and that's
- 12:34Speaker 5: what you want to do is find But I'm seeing
- 12:35Speaker 5: all these women that want to pivot, and so many
- 12:38Speaker 5: women have lost their jobs with the economy.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Now, so what are you going to do? You're not
- 12:43Speaker 4: too old, you're.
- 12:44Speaker 5: Very smart, and you have experienced so being able to
- 12:47Speaker 5: utilize this platform instagramer's pants, Facebook, this pant TikTok.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Get a piece of that.
- 12:53Speaker 5: And if you have a business, make sure that you
- 12:56Speaker 5: are promoting your business in a way.
- 12:58Speaker 4: That will bring people closer to you.
- 13:00Speaker 5: So everybody's brand is unique and different, and I like
- 13:03Speaker 5: to bring out the uniqueness. What's your storytelling, you know,
- 13:06Speaker 5: if you didn't finish school, if your car got representsed,
- 13:09Speaker 5: so whatever, whatever you're comfortable with. But those are the
- 13:11Speaker 5: things that will bring people more closer to you than
- 13:14Speaker 5: trying to go through a sea of social media because
- 13:17Speaker 5: everybody does everything and the same thing.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Cool.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Speaking with Stacy Golar She's the founder of Bloom Creative Agency.
- 13:24Speaker 2: She has over twenty years of experience in marketing, media
- 13:27Speaker 2: and business.
- 13:28Speaker 3: She blends creativity with strategy to have entrepreneurs bring their
- 13:32Speaker 3: brand vision to life.
- 13:34Speaker 2: It's interesting, you know, turning your experience into your expertise
- 13:38Speaker 2: because that's what you're.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Talking about this whole time.
- 13:40Speaker 2: So I would tell people, you know, between the age
- 13:42Speaker 2: of eighteen and twenty two is when you kind of
- 13:45Speaker 2: like are passionate about it. That's what you want to
- 13:47Speaker 2: do in your life, and we kind of deviate from
- 13:49Speaker 2: that get older, and then we sit around, maybe at
- 13:52Speaker 2: forty and fifty.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Don't know what we want to do with our lives.
- 13:55Speaker 1: But I see you from jump keep talking about going
- 13:58Speaker 1: back to the beginning and using the those experienced moments
- 14:01Speaker 1: to develop the career that you own.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Now.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Talk about that plan of action that you consistently preach
- 14:07Speaker 2: that a lot of people aren't really adhering to.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Well.
- 14:13Speaker 5: For me, again, experience has been the best teacher to
- 14:16Speaker 5: me for me, and I feel like when you stop learning,
- 14:20Speaker 5: you stop growing.
- 14:21Speaker 4: And so I'm just big on just supporting people.
- 14:26Speaker 5: And that's what my business has always been, is been
- 14:29Speaker 5: a support system for others because I was a dreamer.
- 14:32Speaker 4: I'm a dreamer.
- 14:33Speaker 5: I love to create, I love to see visions come
- 14:36Speaker 5: to life, and I'm sometime overly passionate about it that
- 14:40Speaker 5: you know, you got to make sure that the person
- 14:42Speaker 5: is invested as well as you're invested, and so that's
- 14:45Speaker 5: why when I say about having different clients, it's like,
- 14:48Speaker 5: if you're not in it, I'm not just here to.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Build it for you. I want you to be a
- 14:52Speaker 4: part of that.
- 14:52Speaker 5: And so throughout my life and my experiences, which I'm
- 14:56Speaker 5: so appreciative of because coming from Chicago to here, I've
- 15:01Speaker 5: had more help here and more support than I've ever
- 15:05Speaker 5: had in my hometown. And I love my hometown, but
- 15:07Speaker 5: being here has helped me grow up as a woman
- 15:10Speaker 5: and to be financially, spiritually, and mentally strong. And so
- 15:15Speaker 5: that is what I bring into my business, and that
- 15:17Speaker 5: is what I tell people, is that you at some
- 15:20Speaker 5: point you got to what they say, poopa, get off
- 15:24Speaker 5: the pot. You know, you got to be able to
- 15:26Speaker 5: really dive into what you want. And so those other
- 15:29Speaker 5: clients I want. That is what I tell my friends,
- 15:31Speaker 5: That is what I tell anyone, is that you got
- 15:33Speaker 5: to keep growing, you got to keep evolving, and you've
- 15:36Speaker 5: got to have.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Your you know, anchor into what you're doing.
- 15:39Speaker 2: You know, I have a lot of clients that come
- 15:41Speaker 2: through me. A lot of people are interview I know
- 15:44Speaker 2: a person who's launched their pancake company of people who
- 15:47Speaker 2: sell grich that are very very popular. Or I had
- 15:52Speaker 2: interview somebody who's does balloons, but they all come back
- 15:57Speaker 2: with that one statement, how to get the word out,
- 16:00Speaker 2: how to uh you know, get their product off the
- 16:03Speaker 2: shelves or get the phone called ringing or the emails
- 16:07Speaker 2: clicking on their contact.
- 16:08Speaker 3: So so if I.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Gotta even the popcorn, I gotta pop These are just
- 16:14Speaker 2: clients or people I come to and so, but that's
- 16:16Speaker 2: a pretty diverse list I came. But they're product driven
- 16:19Speaker 2: because a lot of people, like you said, are starting
- 16:21Speaker 2: businesses and they're kind of like stuck. Now with me
- 16:26Speaker 2: mentioning like I know you Grandma Bett, these yellow grits.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I can say that popcorn remix. I can say that
- 16:33Speaker 2: ballows pancake mix. I can say that uh y'alla's balloons.
- 16:39Speaker 3: You know.
- 16:39Speaker 2: I can say that because there's a good, good, solid
- 16:42Speaker 2: companies who are just looking for that magic connection with
- 16:46Speaker 2: the with the with the everyday customer who has who
- 16:49Speaker 2: wants to use their services. With me saying that because
- 16:51Speaker 2: I wanted to use them examples not saying these are
- 16:53Speaker 2: potential clients, but with me putting these names out the
- 16:57Speaker 2: brands out there, how.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Do you react to them? All?
- 17:00Speaker 1: How would you move forward with creating a relationship with them?
- 17:04Speaker 5: Well, I like to, you know, because there's a lot
- 17:07Speaker 5: of businesses out here that are popular, you know, and
- 17:11Speaker 5: they have good products, but they get stuck because we
- 17:15Speaker 5: are doing you kind.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Of do the same thing.
- 17:17Speaker 5: It's like I'm posting on social media, I'm gonna show
- 17:19Speaker 5: this and that, and for me, sometimes you got to
- 17:21Speaker 5: go a little grimy, a little different.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Like you have to for everyday people we see.
- 17:26Speaker 5: We're bombarded with so much promotion skincare and all types
- 17:30Speaker 5: of things.
- 17:31Speaker 4: But what makes sure it's different? What can you do differently?
- 17:34Speaker 5: Like maybe you're not bending, maybe you're not showing up
- 17:38Speaker 5: to podcasts, maybe you're not stepping out because you're shyre,
- 17:42Speaker 5: you're scared, or whatever the case may be.
- 17:44Speaker 4: You have to figure out ways to be able to pivot.
- 17:47Speaker 4: And that's what I'm doing.
- 17:48Speaker 5: The discovery and the audit is how do we figure
- 17:50Speaker 5: out how to get you just off social media? Like
- 17:53Speaker 5: I mean, not off totally, but what I'm saying is
- 17:56Speaker 5: social media we've been bombarded with so much, so how
- 17:59Speaker 5: do we out of your comfort zone to be able
- 18:02Speaker 5: to show Maybe we may need to do a community
- 18:04Speaker 5: that where you if you have pancakes.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Maybe we're serving the homeless.
- 18:08Speaker 5: Maybe we're doing things to show that you have a
- 18:10Speaker 5: community driven background with what you're doing.
- 18:13Speaker 4: And it's not just money driven.
- 18:14Speaker 5: We all want to make money, let's not say we don't,
- 18:17Speaker 5: but it can't be the driving force. So how do
- 18:19Speaker 5: we step out of your comfort zone to do something
- 18:21Speaker 5: different to get people to come to you? And that's
- 18:24Speaker 5: what I try to pull out of people is we
- 18:26Speaker 5: got social media. We're gonna post the pretty the imagery
- 18:29Speaker 5: of the pancakes.
- 18:30Speaker 4: We're gonna flip the pancakes. We're going to show that.
- 18:32Speaker 5: But what are the ways that I can pull out
- 18:35Speaker 5: of you that we can.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Get you out of the norm and.
- 18:38Speaker 5: Make people be able to attach more to your brand.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Please don't go anywhere.
- 18:43Speaker 1: We'll be right back with more Money Making Conversations Master Class.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Welcome back to Money Making Conversation Mastered Class with me
- 18:54Speaker 1: Rashaun McDonald. Great, which it leads me a next question
- 18:57Speaker 1: because emails which a big fan of email. I'm a
- 19:01Speaker 1: big fan of fan club members and you are one
- 19:04Speaker 1: of the things you should always stay Emailing is not dead?
- 19:07Speaker 3: Why do you say that?
- 19:08Speaker 4: For me? That's the other portion of it.
- 19:11Speaker 5: If you're solely on social media, you can lose your
- 19:14Speaker 5: business in a minute because everything is coming through their platform.
- 19:18Speaker 5: So if they shut down, just like the ponts, how
- 19:21Speaker 5: are you going to communicate with your customers. So I'm
- 19:23Speaker 5: big on you need to have a platform and a system,
- 19:27Speaker 5: a funnel system that gets these people to where you
- 19:30Speaker 5: can keep their email and be able to constantly promote
- 19:33Speaker 5: back to them. So I'm big on high level, go
- 19:36Speaker 5: high level, having a community because if you for me,
- 19:40Speaker 5: like if you got pancakes or something, you can still
- 19:43Speaker 5: have a community because these are people that are interested
- 19:47Speaker 5: in possibly cooking. They're not just interested maybe in eating,
- 19:50Speaker 5: but they're interested in cooking.
- 19:52Speaker 4: So now you can kind.
- 19:54Speaker 5: Of pitch them with different recipes and different things like that,
- 19:58Speaker 5: and even incorporate other brands because we're not competing, we're collabing,
- 20:02Speaker 5: and that's what we should be doing with other small businesses.
- 20:05Speaker 5: So you can have a community of the pancake keys,
- 20:09Speaker 5: you know, the pancake queens, I don't know. You can
- 20:11Speaker 5: do different things that you can bring them off this
- 20:13Speaker 5: platform and make them feel included in another of software,
- 20:18Speaker 5: and you can always have the ability to touch them,
- 20:21Speaker 5: so social media won't be your only way of connecting.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Right, I'm talking to the brand strategists. Creative entrepreneur and
- 20:31Speaker 1: founder Bloom Creative Agency. Her name is Stacy Golar, twenty
- 20:34Speaker 1: years of experience, expertise and marketing, media and business. He
- 20:38Speaker 1: blends creativity with strategy to help entrepreneurs, you know, build
- 20:43Speaker 1: their brands and bring their brand vision to life. You
- 20:46Speaker 1: have a statement here you don't need to go viral,
- 20:49Speaker 1: you just need to be valuable.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Yes, what you mean when you say that?
- 20:51Speaker 4: Because everybody wants to be viral?
- 20:53Speaker 5: Everybody wants to get that high number that everybody because
- 20:58Speaker 5: we look at viral as everybody seeing and that can
- 21:01Speaker 5: be true. But what's the value behind it? Because it's
- 21:04Speaker 5: like a fleet moment. It's like a one here wonder
- 21:06Speaker 5: MILLI Vanilla, You do a song and it's.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Like, oh my god, and then I don't see you anymore.
- 21:12Speaker 4: So what is you? Go viral? But are you going
- 21:15Speaker 4: to be able to keep up with that? And I'll
- 21:16Speaker 4: give you example.
- 21:18Speaker 5: I am from Chicago, so I went to we have
- 21:20Speaker 5: Harold's Chicken, And so I went to one of the
- 21:22Speaker 5: restaurants here because they built so many and I went
- 21:25Speaker 5: to support. It was pretty, but the service was horrible,
- 21:28Speaker 5: so horrible that I did a frustrated review.
- 21:32Speaker 4: It went viral.
- 21:34Speaker 5: It went viral, and that wasn't my intention to review.
- 21:38Speaker 5: That wasn't my intention, but it went viral so viral
- 21:42Speaker 5: that I was like, well, wait man, let me look
- 21:43Speaker 5: at the insights on this, because I'm like, it's not negative,
- 21:47Speaker 5: but it's not you know me going on that like
- 21:49Speaker 5: today you should be this. So I'm like, why is
- 21:51Speaker 5: this viral? And to show you how that happens is
- 21:54Speaker 5: that was two months ago. I did another video to say,
- 21:58Speaker 5: let me give you the history why we're so pad passionate.
- 22:00Speaker 5: So I did a history lesson that went viral. So
- 22:03Speaker 5: I'm saying, now that you got the eyeballs, how do
- 22:07Speaker 5: you keep them there?
- 22:08Speaker 4: What value do you have?
- 22:09Speaker 5: I don't want to be known for going to complain
- 22:11Speaker 5: about places, you know what I'm saying, So how do
- 22:13Speaker 5: you create the value of She told this story because
- 22:17Speaker 5: when I came back with the history lesson, it was like, Okay,
- 22:20Speaker 5: I see what she's saying.
- 22:22Speaker 4: This is history.
- 22:23Speaker 5: I'm telling you about the owner. I'm telling you about
- 22:25Speaker 5: what these establishments used to look like and why we
- 22:29Speaker 5: Chicagoans are passionate. So now you want to create that
- 22:33Speaker 5: viral virality, you may not.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Be able to do that. So what is the value
- 22:38Speaker 4: that you.
- 22:39Speaker 5: Offer in your business or in your brand that will
- 22:41Speaker 5: keep people coming back from maybe that one post and
- 22:44Speaker 5: keep them as followers and laww customers.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Now I love that idea. So I'm a big proplemi.
- 22:52Speaker 3: I say this all the time.
- 22:53Speaker 1: You don't know your path until your path stands before you.
- 22:56Speaker 3: And you have to make the decision if you want
- 22:58Speaker 3: to walk that path.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Now, you did something and people reacted to you, I
- 23:03Speaker 1: would advise you to keep doing it.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Yet the restaurants, now that I.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Would advise, I would advise you to keep doing it.
- 23:12Speaker 1: My friends, if people react, they react.
- 23:14Speaker 3: You know you can't.
- 23:16Speaker 2: And so that's why on this show, I always like
- 23:19Speaker 2: to bring people on the show to talk about their brands,
- 23:22Speaker 2: their careers.
- 23:23Speaker 1: But one thing, because a lot of people always sayd Rishaw,
- 23:25Speaker 1: you do a lot of you like a renaissance ban,
- 23:27Speaker 1: You can do this. You do this because I don't
- 23:30Speaker 1: ignore opportunity. Yes I don't ignore open doors.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Yes there's work tied to that potential opportunity, but I
- 23:40Speaker 2: don't ignore that opportunity. Now, I got to ask you
- 23:45Speaker 2: this question because I don't know what the viral means. Okay,
- 23:49Speaker 2: what is technically a viral video or a viral post?
- 23:54Speaker 3: What is that? Is it a number you hear or
- 23:57Speaker 3: what is that?
- 23:58Speaker 5: Yeah, it's really the number. So for me, that video
- 24:02Speaker 5: has seven hundred thousand.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Views and it's still blowing. It's still blowing.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Like sometimes people it's hard to get out what they
- 24:11Speaker 5: call two hundred and three hundred jail, Like.
- 24:14Speaker 3: What did you post it on?
- 24:15Speaker 1: What did you post to the ground?
- 24:17Speaker 4: Yeah, and people, you know, you'll you'll post.
- 24:20Speaker 5: You may get two three hundred maybe a good video
- 24:23Speaker 5: you get eight hundred, and it's like, oh, you know,
- 24:26Speaker 5: when you start getting fifty k, one hundred.
- 24:29Speaker 4: K, I was like, oh my god, I'm surprised. And
- 24:33Speaker 4: so that means a lot of eyes.
- 24:36Speaker 5: That's how many people has actually seen it.
- 24:39Speaker 4: It's seven hundred thousand people.
- 24:41Speaker 3: How long was the video.
- 24:43Speaker 4: A minute and some change? Yeah?
- 24:45Speaker 3: Okay, cool.
- 24:46Speaker 4: It was because I was talking and I was giving
- 24:50Speaker 4: that you know, you had people on there. It was
- 24:52Speaker 4: like you still got your food free? And I was like, shoot,
- 24:54Speaker 4: because I waited two hours? Why was I take free food.
- 24:58Speaker 4: So now you're coming your commenting back, keeps it going.
- 25:03Speaker 5: They are still talking about that post today today is
- 25:07Speaker 5: still going.
- 25:07Speaker 4: And now that I did the backup on the history
- 25:10Speaker 4: that's gone, that's gone viral. Seventy two thousand people seen that.
- 25:15Speaker 4: So now what I did is I went on Instagram
- 25:18Speaker 4: and they have this thing.
- 25:19Speaker 5: Called trial reels where you can repost a viral video
- 25:23Speaker 5: and it won't go back on your page yet it
- 25:25Speaker 5: goes to non followers to see the insights of that, to.
- 25:29Speaker 4: If that will go viral again.
- 25:30Speaker 3: So I'm testing that out right right.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Okay, so you actually are a purple althote viral.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I love that, but again, don't don't don't walk away
- 25:42Speaker 1: from that opportunity.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Okay, you know you know what do you actually need
- 25:46Speaker 2: to when you talk we've been talking about brands.
- 25:48Speaker 3: We talking about product.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Is a brand a product, it's brand a talent, it's
- 25:52Speaker 2: brand a business.
- 25:54Speaker 3: What do you need to start your brand?
- 25:56Speaker 5: Well, you need to understand before creating it. So from
- 26:00Speaker 5: for me, people know me as a very inspirational. I've
- 26:03Speaker 5: been that, I've had women empowerment groups and all that.
- 26:06Speaker 4: Kind of stuff. So the core of people that know
- 26:09Speaker 4: me know me as.
- 26:10Speaker 5: She's positive, she's going to give you the real She's
- 26:13Speaker 5: going to share tips and business and all that with you.
- 26:16Speaker 4: So for me, that's my brand. So whatever I do,
- 26:19Speaker 4: I still have that identity in it.
- 26:22Speaker 5: So it's not far like what is she doing that
- 26:24Speaker 5: I'm doing skincare, so I am pulling beauty and empowerment
- 26:27Speaker 5: back into aging, so it's still aligned to.
- 26:30Speaker 4: What I'm doing.
- 26:31Speaker 5: So a brand can be a product or a service
- 26:34Speaker 5: if you have something to sell, but when the individual
- 26:37Speaker 5: is the brand, it means that you are like influencers
- 26:40Speaker 5: if they're a beauty influencer or no niche influencers, because
- 26:44Speaker 5: I don't necessarily believe in having one niche.
- 26:46Speaker 4: I'm like you, I can do a lot, you know,
- 26:48Speaker 4: but you want to.
- 26:49Speaker 5: Be able to do it well and if it's an
- 26:51Speaker 5: opportunity there So, if you have a beauty product and
- 26:55Speaker 5: that's what you're going to be known for beauty, then
- 26:57Speaker 5: everything you do and follow suit should be that.
- 27:02Speaker 4: If you decide to be no niche, it still should
- 27:04Speaker 4: have a core value of who you are.
- 27:07Speaker 5: And for me, mine is she's gonna keep it real
- 27:10Speaker 5: and she's very positive and she's business.
- 27:12Speaker 4: Oriented, so that is my core whatever I do.
- 27:15Speaker 5: If I go sell real estates like you should buy
- 27:16Speaker 5: a house because you deserve it and because of a legacy,
- 27:20Speaker 5: it aligns with what I'm doing. So brand can be
- 27:23Speaker 5: a product of service or individual. You just need to
- 27:26Speaker 5: be able to make sure that whatever the core of
- 27:29Speaker 5: that is aligns where people can go to your page
- 27:31Speaker 5: and go, oh Sean. He does podcasts and he has
- 27:35Speaker 5: his own cookbook and he has a cooking show, and
- 27:37Speaker 5: he's about entrepreneurs. So we know that about you. You've
- 27:41Speaker 5: got some of the best brands. You've helped some of
- 27:43Speaker 5: people have the best brands, so we know that that's
- 27:46Speaker 5: what you are for people everywhere.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Cool quick question here. You mentioned skincare a couple of times.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Are you involved in skincare? Are you Are you scare
- 27:57Speaker 2: of a skincare product? I want to I can't lead
- 27:59Speaker 2: it interview. You've said like three times just kind of
- 28:02Speaker 2: casually talk about what is the skincare that you keep
- 28:05Speaker 2: bringing up in this interview but not bringing it up?
- 28:08Speaker 3: Okay?
- 28:08Speaker 4: The reason why?
- 28:09Speaker 5: Being honest, So, I have a skincare company called skin
- 28:12Speaker 5: Like Skincare. I started it on my fiftieth birthday because
- 28:15Speaker 5: we're aging and it should be one of privilege and
- 28:18Speaker 5: it's a journey to aging. And so I've always been
- 28:21Speaker 5: a skincare girl because my mother was, and we just
- 28:23Speaker 5: take care of our skin. And I wanted because when
- 28:26Speaker 5: I turned fifty, I was like, oh, you have a
- 28:29Speaker 5: hundred now. So for me, I know what we're losing
- 28:32Speaker 5: as women, collagen elasticity, and I want to look good
- 28:36Speaker 5: just like you. So I started a skincare line to
- 28:39Speaker 5: help women to be okay with not wearing makeups so
- 28:42Speaker 5: much like I have on make up now, but you
- 28:44Speaker 5: see that good skin up under there, right.
- 28:46Speaker 4: So I wanted to not only.
- 28:49Speaker 5: Have something that you can put topically, but I wanted
- 28:51Speaker 5: you to feel okay on your journey of aging as well.
- 28:55Speaker 4: So I started the skincare line. I still have it.
- 28:59Speaker 5: I'm more now have my body scented organic body oils.
- 29:03Speaker 4: The face part I'm redoing.
- 29:06Speaker 5: So that's why I wasn't like, go to skin life
- 29:08Speaker 5: got me, you know, But I'm definitely I believe in
- 29:11Speaker 5: taking care of yourself internally and externally, and women we
- 29:16Speaker 5: want to look at it. So I try to empower
- 29:19Speaker 5: women there that value is empower women to be okay
- 29:23Speaker 5: with not having to put a face full of makeup,
- 29:25Speaker 5: but also taking care.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Of your natural skin to have your natural beauty.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Okay, so you have a skincare line. Are you launching
- 29:33Speaker 3: a skincare line?
- 29:34Speaker 5: I have a skincare line, but the facial products are.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Limited now and I have been promoting.
- 29:40Speaker 5: More of the body oils, which are scented body ailes.
- 29:43Speaker 5: So that's why it happens things are revamping, so.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Okay, cool. So what is the body oil?
- 29:50Speaker 5: So the body oill because now that the Internet has
- 29:53Speaker 5: taught us that you've been messing up your you know,
- 29:55Speaker 5: your hormones with the different ToxS, toxins in the in
- 30:00Speaker 5: skin care. So I have natural organic sunflower joba oil
- 30:04Speaker 5: that I scent so that people that are a little
- 30:07Speaker 5: bit more want a little bit more clean that there's
- 30:10Speaker 5: more of a clean body oil and it's moisturized and
- 30:13Speaker 5: hydrating because again, as we age, we're losing a lot
- 30:17Speaker 5: of different nutrients in our body.
- 30:19Speaker 4: And so you don't have to walk around with ash skin.
- 30:21Speaker 5: You can have a body all that is more cleaner
- 30:24Speaker 5: and still smells nice to be able to nourish your body.
- 30:28Speaker 4: So I'm everything for me is now pro aging or.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Aging slow right right, slowing down that clock.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Looking like like I'm fording.
- 30:39Speaker 3: There like that. Now again, how do we get in
- 30:42Speaker 3: touch with your Stacey?
- 30:43Speaker 5: You can find me at boone Creative Agency on Instagram.
- 30:47Speaker 5: The website is bloom Creative Agency and.
- 30:50Speaker 4: I just say this too. You can reach me at
- 30:51Speaker 4: the real Stacey J.
- 30:52Speaker 5: That's where I'm viral at, so you can check me
- 30:54Speaker 5: out over there.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Your viral can go find out my virals.
- 31:00Speaker 3: I got, I got to close interview. Okay, you did
- 31:03Speaker 3: the video, it went viral? Has the customer service change
- 31:07Speaker 3: in arrows at that location?
- 31:09Speaker 5: I listen, she invited me back, but it's chicken, so
- 31:11Speaker 5: I'm not in a rush. But people have caught on
- 31:13Speaker 5: my page and say it has not.
- 31:16Speaker 4: It is horrible. Some people say.
- 31:18Speaker 5: They may have went on a weekday and they charged
- 31:20Speaker 5: twenty dollars to park.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Twenty the park and.
- 31:24Speaker 5: Then and they said it's on Panola Road and they
- 31:28Speaker 5: said it used to be or I don't know Denny's
- 31:32Speaker 5: or something.
- 31:32Speaker 4: So I'm just I.
- 31:34Speaker 5: Don't need to go back, because even though the owner
- 31:37Speaker 5: did call me and she did invite me back, and
- 31:40Speaker 5: I'm not saying I will never go back, but people
- 31:42Speaker 5: in my comments, have let me know that it hasn't
- 31:46Speaker 5: really changed.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Okay, well it's twenty dollars the park to get chicken.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Yes, stop going.
- 31:54Speaker 5: They say, lamb chops, rostapasta, And that's not what we
- 31:57Speaker 5: do in Chicago.
