  I'm thinking today of Romans 8, 23. It follows

  right after 22, and 22 is talking about the groaning
• 0:06
  of creation, how all creation groans and suffers
• 0:10
  the pains of childbirth together until now. And

  then it says in 23, and not only that, but also
• 0:16
  we ourselves, having the first fruits of the
• 0:19
  Spirit, even we ourselves, groan within ourselves,
• 0:22
  waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons and
• 0:25
  daughters, the redemption of our body. The fact
• 0:28
  is, We're in the same boat. We have the same
• 0:31
  kind of difficulties going on. We desire, we
• 0:34
  struggle, we sort of impatiently wait for a perfect
• 0:37
  world. That's why people get angry, frustrated,
• 0:40
  lose their temper, lose their patience, why people
• 0:43
  isolate, become anxious, worried, depressed,
• 0:46
  all those kinds of things. because we are groaning
• 0:49
  for that once and for all adoption as sons and
• 0:52
  daughters of the living God, which is what we
• 0:54
  were created for. We want to see our original
• 0:57
  purpose truly fulfilled, even though we may not
• 0:59
  know what our original purpose was, or knowing
• 1:01
  what it was, we may be straying from the course
• 1:04
  that would logically lead us there. So when you
• 1:07
  feel difficulty, when you feel it sort of weighing
• 1:09
  down on you or threatening to tear you apart,
• 1:12
  remember that... The groanings of this life,
• 1:15
  the groanings in us, even as believers, and I
• 1:17
  hope you've accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord
• 1:19
  and Savior, and if you haven't, do so right now.
• 1:21
  But that being said, the groanings in us are
• 1:25
  to remind us that we don't really belong here.
• 1:27
  It's not going to ever be perfect here, but it
• 1:29
  is perfect there, and that's where we're headed.
