Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:00Speaker 2: It is a Verdict with Ted Cruz, Weekend Review, Ben
- 0:03Speaker 2: Ferguson with you, and these are the big stories that
- 0:06Speaker 2: you may have missed that we talked about this week.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Number one, there was a two hundred and fifty thousand
- 0:14Speaker 2: dollars plus bankwire transfer that came from Beijing. Where did
- 0:19Speaker 2: it go to the home address of Joe Biden in
- 0:23Speaker 2: the summer of twenty nineteen while he was running for president.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Now you could argue that maybe Hunter Biden lived there
- 0:30Speaker 2: at the time. The only problem is he didn't, and
- 0:33Speaker 2: we have the proof of where he was living. That
- 0:36Speaker 2: is a huge story you don't want to miss. Number
- 0:39Speaker 2: two this weekend also deals with a problem with a
- 0:42Speaker 2: Biden administration and a wide open border. Now Democratic mayors
- 0:47Speaker 2: are flipping on their own party, yet they're still not
- 0:50Speaker 2: willing to say Joe Biden needs to secure the border.
- 0:54Speaker 2: We'll dive into politics of that. And finally, at GOP
- 0:57Speaker 2: debate took place this past week. In the highlights of
- 1:00Speaker 2: what really mattered and what went on, we're going to
- 1:03Speaker 2: break it down for you, specifically with China and the
- 1:06Speaker 2: fetnyl crisis. It is the weekend Review with Ted Cruz
- 1:10Speaker 2: and it starts right now. There is new reporting out
- 1:15Speaker 2: that Hunter Biden received wired transfers for a quarter of
- 1:19Speaker 2: a million dollars originating in Beijing, for more than more
- 1:24Speaker 2: than two hundred and fifty from Chinese business partners during
- 1:27Speaker 2: the summer of two thy and nineteen. These wires were
- 1:31Speaker 2: listed that were listed had the home address of the
- 1:36Speaker 2: President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, as
- 1:39Speaker 2: the beneficiary address for the funds that were being transferred.
- 1:43Speaker 2: This is a direct link from money from Beijing now
- 1:48Speaker 2: to the President of the United States of America in
- 1:51Speaker 2: the sum of at least two hundred and fifty thousand
- 1:53Speaker 2: and counting.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Well, look, that's exactly right. Let me walk you through
- 1:57Speaker 3: a little bit of this timeline. VID named Jonathan Lee
- 2:01Speaker 3: and Hunter Biden developed a business relationship while Joe Biden
- 2:05Speaker 3: was Vice president. On July twenty sixth, twenty nineteen, Hunter
- 2:10Speaker 3: Biden received a ten thousand dollars wire from Wang Jin.
- 2:15Speaker 3: On October second, twenty nineteen, Hunter Biden received a two
- 2:20Speaker 3: hundred and fifty thousand dollars wire from Jonathan Lee and
- 2:25Speaker 3: Tan Ling. Both wires originated in Beijing and listed as
- 2:32Speaker 3: the beneficiary address Joe Biden's Wilmington, Delaware home. Nearly three
- 2:39Speaker 3: months later, on October thirteenth, twenty nineteen, Hunter Biden's attorney,
- 2:45Speaker 3: guy named George Messiris, stated that Hunter Biden received no
- 2:49Speaker 3: money from BHR and did not disclose any payments from
- 2:52Speaker 3: Jonathan Lee. I mean, it's easy to forget quarter million dollars.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Everyone loses that. Beyond that, evidence show that Joe Biden
- 3:01Speaker 3: developed a familiar relationship with Jonathan Lee during his vice
- 3:06Speaker 3: presidency and prior to these payments to Hunter Biden. Devin Archer,
- 3:11Speaker 3: who was a business associate of the Bidens, described how
- 3:15Speaker 3: Joe Biden, not Hunter, Joe Daddy, met with Jonathan Lee
- 3:19Speaker 3: in Beijing, China, had a phone call with him, and
- 3:23Speaker 3: later wrote college recommendation letters for his children. So understand
- 3:28Speaker 3: the guy who's wiring a quarter million dollars to Hunter
- 3:31Speaker 3: Biden to Joe Biden's home address, Joe Biden wrote college
- 3:36Speaker 3: recommendation letters for his kids, and in fact, in December
- 3:41Speaker 3: twenty thirteen, during a vice presidential trip to Beijing, reports
- 3:45Speaker 3: indicate that quote Hunter. Shortly after arriving in Beijing on
- 3:49Speaker 3: December fourth, Help arranged for Lee to shake hands with
- 3:54Speaker 3: his father in the lobby of the American delegation's hotel.
- 4:00Speaker 3: You all of this is happening, This wire is happening
- 4:02Speaker 3: simultaneously to Joe Biden announcing his campaign for president of
- 4:07Speaker 3: the United States. But nevertheless, on October twenty second, twenty twenty,
- 4:12Speaker 3: here's what Joe Biden said, quote, my son has not
- 4:15Speaker 3: made money in terms of thing about what are you
- 4:20Speaker 3: talking about China? The only guy who made money in
- 4:24Speaker 3: China is Trump. So what he said his son has
- 4:29Speaker 3: not made money from China. It was a flat out lie.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Not only had he made money, he'd made a quarter
- 4:35Speaker 3: million dollars from a guy Joe Biden had met, from
- 4:38Speaker 3: a guy who Joe Biden had written recommendation letters for
- 4:41Speaker 3: his kids, and that quarter million dollars was wired to
- 4:47Speaker 3: Joe Biden's home address.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I still am taken aback, and rarely does this happen
- 4:53Speaker 2: center at just the the and I don't think it's
- 4:57Speaker 2: in common. It's just the brazenness of the crime that
- 5:00Speaker 2: were committed by the Bidens. They didn't get And this
- 5:03Speaker 2: is twenty nineteen, this is not that long ago.
- 5:07Speaker 1: He's running for president, right, He's.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Running for president of the United States of America, and
- 5:12Speaker 2: they're wiring these funds from Beijing to the home address
- 5:18Speaker 2: of the President of the United States, and now president
- 5:21Speaker 2: it's America. While he's trying to become the president. It's America.
- 5:24Speaker 2: It's almost like they're like, hey, get the money in here, quick,
- 5:27Speaker 2: move it through quickly. We got to get this We
- 5:29Speaker 2: gotta get this money in here fast before he becomes
- 5:32Speaker 2: the president.
- 5:33Speaker 1: And so send it on.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Where do you want me to say, We're not even
- 5:36Speaker 2: gonna funnel the money this time, We're not even gonna
- 5:38Speaker 2: put it in the llcas and move the bank accounts around.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Just send it directly the home address of the president,
- 5:45Speaker 2: all right.
- 5:46Speaker 3: And this is an example where the corporate media will
- 5:49Speaker 3: be utterly compliant. So the only one who will even
- 5:52Speaker 3: bother to ask a question of Joe Biden at a
- 5:54Speaker 3: press conference or or of kareein John Pierre will be
- 5:58Speaker 3: Fox because the rest of the corporate media, it will
- 6:00Speaker 3: roll over and be compliant. But here's a basic question,
- 6:03Speaker 3: mister president, did you ever meet Jonathan Lee's kids?
- 6:10Speaker 1: How about that? Let's start with that.
- 6:11Speaker 3: You wrote recommendation letters for him, do you ever meet him?
- 6:14Speaker 3: You know anything about him? And If the answers no, well,
- 6:19Speaker 3: why the hell did you write recommendations letters for them?
- 6:23Speaker 3: What did Jonathan Lee do to get you? You were
- 6:26Speaker 3: the vice president of the United States to write a
- 6:28Speaker 3: recommendation letter for his kids if you ever met the kids.
- 6:31Speaker 3: I don't know if he met him, but I would
- 6:32Speaker 3: be shocked if he did. If you never met the kids,
- 6:37Speaker 3: So you're willing to write a recommendation letter for someone
- 6:39Speaker 3: you never met. Presumably you owe something to daddy if
- 6:43Speaker 3: you're writing a recommendation letter to the kids. So the
- 6:46Speaker 3: question is what do you owe, what did daddy do?
- 6:49Speaker 3: And does it have anything to do with the fact
- 6:51Speaker 3: that daddy sent a quarter million dollars wired it to
- 6:54Speaker 3: your son at your home address while you were running
- 6:57Speaker 3: for president of the United States. Remember the Democrat talking
- 7:00Speaker 3: point and the corporate media talking point is, yeah, Hunter's corrupt.
- 7:05Speaker 3: He let's throw him overboard. We've given up on Hunter.
- 7:08Speaker 3: But Joe had nothing to do with it. Well, you
- 7:10Speaker 3: know what, Hunter didn't write recommendations letters for the kids
- 7:13Speaker 3: of Jonathan Lee. Joe did. So what did Joe get
- 7:19Speaker 3: in exchange for a recommendation letter? By the way, you
- 7:23Speaker 3: and I are both parents, do either of us have
- 7:25Speaker 3: recommendation letters from the Vice President of the United States
- 7:27Speaker 3: for our kids. No, like, that's pretty damn serious. And
- 7:35Speaker 3: it's remarkable the media they will not even ask these questions.
- 7:39Speaker 3: They do not care.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Well, it's not just that you.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I'm sure could ask ten hundred times more than I
- 7:44Speaker 2: do for recommendations for different things. And the more that
- 7:49Speaker 2: you build something, the more cautious and careful you are,
- 7:54Speaker 2: because you don't want to give your name to somebody
- 7:57Speaker 2: that could come back to haunt you one day when
- 7:59Speaker 2: a press like, hey, Senator Cruz, did you actually write
- 8:02Speaker 2: over a letter of recommendation for someone that you didn't
- 8:04Speaker 2: know and now they've been arrested for drugs or for
- 8:07Speaker 2: this crime or that or embezzlement.
- 8:09Speaker 1: You protect your good name.
- 8:12Speaker 2: In West you're Joe Biden, where it seems to be
- 8:14Speaker 2: that you can just buy a letter of recommendation from
- 8:17Speaker 2: the Vice president if the dollar amount is enough to
- 8:20Speaker 2: your family.
- 8:22Speaker 3: So look, I'm fifty two years old, I've been in
- 8:25Speaker 3: the Senate eleven years. My guess is maybe I've written
- 8:30Speaker 3: in the whole course of my life, let's say, one
- 8:32Speaker 3: hundred recommendation letters. That's probably high, but I'm gonna overestimate it.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Those one hundred have been almost exclusively people who are
- 8:42Speaker 3: either good personal friends of mine or people who worked
- 8:45Speaker 3: for me. If so someone was a staff assistant, if
- 8:47Speaker 3: someone was an employee in the office and they worked
- 8:49Speaker 3: and they did a good job, I'll draft a letter
- 8:52Speaker 3: of recommendation. It'll vary if I know them well. Some
- 8:55Speaker 3: letters are recommendation. I lean in closely because if I
- 8:57Speaker 3: know them well and I work with them, I'll say
- 8:59Speaker 3: something nicely about them. If they were a good kid
- 9:02Speaker 3: and they worked in the office and they could do
- 9:04Speaker 3: good work, I'll write a more generic letter, and I'll
- 9:06Speaker 3: often have staff draft it and try to reflect. You know.
- 9:10Speaker 3: You know, Young Ben did a nice job on a
- 9:12Speaker 3: memo on national security and he pointed out maybe we
- 9:15Speaker 3: should not have Iranian agents working for the federal government,
- 9:19Speaker 3: and I agreed with that. That was nicely done. Yeah,
- 9:23Speaker 3: mind you that means Young Ben couldn't get hired in
- 9:25Speaker 3: the Biden administration. But in a sane world, young Ben
- 9:28Speaker 3: had some wisdom that was impressive, and so you should
- 9:32Speaker 3: hire him at Old Miss because he also has a
- 9:34Speaker 3: wicked serve and and knows he to play tennis like
- 9:37Speaker 3: that's a letter I might write. But I can tell
- 9:41Speaker 3: you right now, I have never written a letter of
- 9:45Speaker 3: recommendation for a Chinese national. And I'm sure as hell
- 9:47Speaker 3: haven't written a letter recommendation for the children of a
- 9:50Speaker 3: Chinese national I've never met. And I'm sure as hell
- 9:53Speaker 3: as hell, as hell as hell have never written a
- 9:56Speaker 3: letter recommendation for the children of a Chinese national who
- 9:59Speaker 3: I've never at the children, And that the dad has
- 10:03Speaker 3: given a quarter million dollars to my son and sent
- 10:06Speaker 3: it to my home address, Like holy crap. Yeah, that
- 10:09Speaker 3: this is not like there's sort of a realm of reasonableness.
- 10:13Speaker 3: And look, sometimes you have someone who was an intern
- 10:17Speaker 3: and shook your hand and you say, young Ben is
- 10:19Speaker 3: a nice young man, and it's kind of a courtesy,
- 10:22Speaker 3: and you don't really know. Young Ben may not be
- 10:25Speaker 3: a nice young man. He may be a total jerk,
- 10:27Speaker 3: but you're trying to be nice, and so you write
- 10:29Speaker 3: a letter because young Ben seem fine. This is qualitatively different.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I don't know anyone in politics who's ever done this
- 10:40Speaker 3: like what Joe Biden is doing. Like people listening might think, oh,
- 10:44Speaker 3: I don't know the political world, this is commonplace. No, no,
- 10:47Speaker 3: it's not people don't do this like a quarter million dollars.
- 10:53Speaker 3: You don't get sent to you. You don't get sent
- 10:56Speaker 3: to you from Chinese nationals. You don't get sent to
- 10:59Speaker 3: you from Chinese nationals. Well you're running for president, don't
- 11:03Speaker 3: get sent to you from Chinese nationals in exchange for
- 11:07Speaker 3: who the hell knows what I mean this is. And
- 11:11Speaker 3: it's worth underscoring this is not Hunter, this is Joe, Joe, Joe.
- 11:17Speaker 3: This money was wired to Joe's home address.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 11:24Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 11:27Speaker 2: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two. There's
- 11:31Speaker 2: a civil war in the Democratic Party right now over
- 11:33Speaker 2: the immigration issue. We're seeing, you know, Mayor Adams come out,
- 11:37Speaker 2: the Governor of New York come out, and it's hard
- 11:40Speaker 2: to just overlook what's happening at the border. There was
- 11:43Speaker 2: an interesting Fox report that I think put in perspective
- 11:45Speaker 2: for people, and I wanted to make sure we played
- 11:47Speaker 2: it in the video pod. And many people are listening
- 11:50Speaker 2: to this right now. They're listening on audio only. You
- 11:52Speaker 2: can go watch the video that we're about to do
- 11:54Speaker 2: on YouTube all right, because we're doing this one with
- 11:56Speaker 2: video and audio. Go look at it because this is
- 11:58Speaker 2: something that should go viral and we should see Yep,
- 12:00Speaker 2: take a look at this.
- 12:02Speaker 4: I can tell you that early this morning in Eagle Pass,
- 12:04Speaker 4: we witnessed one of the largest mass illegal crossings we
- 12:07Speaker 4: have ever seen in the last two and a half
- 12:10Speaker 4: years of covering our southern border.
- 12:11Speaker 1: We'll get right to this video. Take a look at
- 12:14Speaker 1: this stunning footage.
- 12:15Speaker 4: Border patrol sources telling us just after midnight about two thousand,
- 12:19Speaker 4: five hundred migrants crossed illegally into Eagle Pass.
- 12:23Speaker 1: You can see this lengthy.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Line of them stretching from shore to shore in the river.
- 12:28Speaker 4: This video perspective coming from the Mexican side of the
- 12:31Speaker 4: river in Piedrous and Negros. One of our contacts over
- 12:33Speaker 4: there shooting this video as they essentially bum rushed Eagle Pass.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Last night, you.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Saw that there was another video also in viral, and
- 12:40Speaker 2: that was a train coming towards America filled with people.
- 12:43Speaker 2: And it's like the cartails that figured out, hey, they're
- 12:46Speaker 2: not gonna stop us. In fact, the more that we
- 12:48Speaker 2: send the more likely it is to be successful. We
- 12:52Speaker 2: can just bum rush the border and this administration will
- 12:55Speaker 2: not stop us.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Yeah, let's put these these numbers in context. So we've
- 13:00Speaker 3: discussed on the pod before. Mayor Adams in New York
- 13:03Speaker 3: has said that New York is City isn't a crisis.
- 13:07Speaker 3: They've had one hundred and ten thousand illegal immigrants. He
- 13:09Speaker 3: says that one hundred and ten thousand illegal immigrants is
- 13:11Speaker 3: destroying New York City. I want to focus on Eagle
- 13:15Speaker 3: Pass where where If you watch that video you just
- 13:17Speaker 3: saw the people crossing. Eagle Pass is a small town
- 13:21Speaker 3: on the southern border on the Rio Grande River. It
- 13:24Speaker 3: has a population of about twenty eight thousand people, so
- 13:27Speaker 3: it's a little town. On one single day last week,
- 13:32Speaker 3: more than four thousand illegal immigrants came into Eagle Pass
- 13:36Speaker 3: on one day. Now four thousand people in town of
- 13:39Speaker 3: twenty eight thousand people is about fourteen percent of the population.
- 13:42Speaker 3: About fourteen percent of the population of the city came
- 13:45Speaker 3: illegally into Eagle Pass on one day. What would that
- 13:50Speaker 3: be in New York City? New York City has a
- 13:51Speaker 3: population of about nine million people. If fourteen percent of
- 13:56Speaker 3: New York City came into New York on one day,
- 13:59Speaker 3: that would be one million, two hundred and sixty thousand
- 14:02Speaker 3: people invading New York on a single day. Mayor Adams says,
- 14:08Speaker 3: one hundred and ten thousand people over two and a
- 14:10Speaker 3: half years is a crisis destroying the city. Well, how
- 14:14Speaker 3: would he feel about one million, two hundred and sixty
- 14:16Speaker 3: thousand people entering the city on a single day. That's
- 14:19Speaker 3: what Eagle Pass saw on one day last week. And
- 14:22Speaker 3: you know what they saw thousands more the next day
- 14:25Speaker 3: and the next day, and the next day and the
- 14:27Speaker 3: next day. And these Democrats do not give a damn.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Border Patrol Union put out a very interesting tweet and
- 14:33Speaker 2: this is what they said as they put this out,
- 14:36Speaker 2: It said, from September first through the twentieth, the Biden
- 14:38Speaker 2: administration or the release of more than one hundred thousand.
- 14:42Speaker 2: This to order the release of one hundred thousand legal
- 14:44Speaker 2: border crashers, enough to double the population, says like Yuma Arizona,
- 14:48Speaker 2: think about what Biden is doing to this country with
- 14:51Speaker 2: his out of control border policies.
- 14:53Speaker 1: How many millions more?
- 14:55Speaker 2: That's not like exaggeration when they say patrol Unions saying
- 15:00Speaker 2: how many millions more, that's a very accurate hit because
- 15:04Speaker 2: there are millions.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Look, they're at seven and a half million, and Joe Biden,
- 15:09Speaker 3: Kamala Harris and Chuck Schumer and Alejandro Mayorcis and every
- 15:13Speaker 3: Senate Democrat and just about every Congressional Democrat. They want
- 15:16Speaker 3: seven and a half million, to go to ten million,
- 15:18Speaker 3: to go to twelve million, to go to fifteen million.
- 15:21Speaker 3: They want as many as possible. And by the way,
- 15:25Speaker 3: if you don't believe me that they want as many
- 15:26Speaker 3: as possible, take a look at the Governor of New York,
- 15:30Speaker 3: Governor Hokeel back in twenty twenty one, so just two
- 15:33Speaker 3: years ago, where she is explicitly inviting as many as
- 15:37Speaker 3: possible to come to New York.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Take a look.
- 15:40Speaker 5: So our message the world is, send us your people,
- 15:44Speaker 5: send us those who need the cloak of comfort that
- 15:47Speaker 5: we can demonstrate as New Yorkers with big hearts and
- 15:50Speaker 5: open arms, and we'll provide a safe haven, particularly for
- 15:53Speaker 5: these Afghan refugees.
- 15:55Speaker 6: We're so proud that are here.
- 15:56Speaker 5: We have already seventy five hundred Afghans living here, all
- 15:59Speaker 5: read read, and we expect to have another eighteen hundred more.
- 16:03Speaker 5: And we send a message from day one, we'll take
- 16:06Speaker 5: as many as you want to have us have come
- 16:08Speaker 5: to New York State because it's a huge point of
- 16:10Speaker 5: pride for us, and we'll support them to build a
- 16:12Speaker 5: whole new life.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Open arms and big hearts.
- 16:15Speaker 3: In twenty twenty one, and she also said, we'll take
- 16:19Speaker 3: as many as you want to have come to New York.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Please come. So that is the approved talking point of
- 16:26Speaker 3: left wingers. Now fast forward to twenty twenty three, same governor.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Here's what she says this year.
- 16:33Speaker 6: It certainly will because about forty one percent of the
- 16:36Speaker 6: people in our shelters today are from Venezuela. They are
- 16:40Speaker 6: lily from around the world, West Africa, South and Central America.
- 16:44Speaker 6: They're coming from all over. But we have to let
- 16:47Speaker 6: the word out that when you come to New York,
- 16:50Speaker 6: we're not going to have more hotel rooms. We don't
- 16:52Speaker 6: have capacity. So we have to also message properly that
- 16:55Speaker 6: we're at our limit. If you're going to leave your country,
- 16:58Speaker 6: go somewhere else with The smarter thing is to apply
- 17:01Speaker 6: for asylum before you leave your country, and then you'll
- 17:03Speaker 6: have a different experience when you arrive.
- 17:05Speaker 1: You're gonna leave your country center go somewhere else. Down
- 17:08Speaker 1: that we're at our limit.
- 17:10Speaker 3: We're at our limit.
- 17:11Speaker 1: We have no more hotel rooms for you.
- 17:13Speaker 3: And by the way, look at the numbers. So in
- 17:14Speaker 3: twenty twenty one, she was saying, we have seventy five
- 17:17Speaker 3: hundred Afghans and we expect another eighteen hundred more. Okay,
- 17:20Speaker 3: so if they're talking seven eight nine thousand, that we're good.
- 17:25Speaker 3: One hundred and ten thousand, Oh crap, we're at our limit.
- 17:27Speaker 3: We said eighteen hundred, We didn't say one hundred and
- 17:30Speaker 3: ten thousand. Well what do you think about seven and
- 17:34Speaker 3: a half million? The utter hypocrisy, and mind you you know,
- 17:38Speaker 3: you know what name she didn't say, Joe Biden. Yeah,
- 17:41Speaker 3: she didn't say Kamala Harris, she didn't say Chuck Schumer.
- 17:44Speaker 3: If New York is at its limit, doesn't New York
- 17:48Speaker 3: State have two US Senators? Yeah, isn't one of them
- 17:52Speaker 3: the Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer, who.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Could do something on this, actually legislation or introduced legislation.
- 17:59Speaker 3: And not only does he not introduce legislation, he votes
- 18:02Speaker 3: against anything to secure the border. He demonizes any effort
- 18:06Speaker 3: to secure the border. He embraces the open borders that
- 18:09Speaker 3: are destroying New York City, and even the Democrats who
- 18:12Speaker 3: are calling it out, they don't dare call out their
- 18:16Speaker 3: fellow Democrats. Instead, they blame as I love, you know,
- 18:19Speaker 3: Mayor Adams who said some madman in Texas, Greg Abbott.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I'm still I'm still offended that he wasn't talking about me,
- 18:26Speaker 3: But hah. The hypocrisy is massive because New York's Democrat
- 18:33Speaker 3: governor is not saying stop secure the border, stop the invasion.
- 18:37Speaker 3: She's saying, please don't send them new York, send them
- 18:39Speaker 3: to Red States. Make other people deal with them so
- 18:42Speaker 3: I can continue to virtue signal. By the way, did
- 18:44Speaker 3: you notice also in that press interview it was a
- 18:47Speaker 3: little Stepford wives that that that that that both she
- 18:50Speaker 3: and the woman interviewing her are wearing the exact same
- 18:52Speaker 3: white suit. It was just kind of a little freaky look.
- 18:54Speaker 3: And I'm not sure what was going on there.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Everybody asked me about it. You really beliethers bias the media,
- 18:59Speaker 2: and I'm like, ye, yes, I really do. Like I
- 19:01Speaker 2: love when I'm traveling, you get it to all the time.
- 19:03Speaker 2: People come up and they kind of want to antagonize, like,
- 19:05Speaker 2: there's not bias media. If you were a decent person
- 19:07Speaker 2: in the media when she said go somewhere else, any
- 19:11Speaker 2: journalist the initial response would been, will governor where else where?
- 19:16Speaker 2: What is this somewhere else? Is that another state? Are
- 19:19Speaker 2: you telling me to go to another country? There was
- 19:21Speaker 2: no follow up there.
- 19:22Speaker 1: On at all.
- 19:23Speaker 3: No, no, no, because there's no response that go somewhere else?
- 19:26Speaker 3: What they mean? And actually the Biden White House said
- 19:28Speaker 3: that go to Texas. Send them all to Texas because
- 19:31Speaker 3: they hate Texas and they figure if they invade Texas
- 19:35Speaker 3: with enough people, they'll flip it blue. And you know what,
- 19:39Speaker 3: if the cities are bankrupted, and if people die, and
- 19:43Speaker 3: if children are assaulted, and if they're drug overdoses, all
- 19:46Speaker 3: of that is an acceptable price for their partisan political objective.
- 19:51Speaker 2: As before, if you want to hear the rest of
- 19:52Speaker 2: this conversation on this topic, you can go back and
- 19:55Speaker 2: down the podcasts from earlier this week to hear the
- 19:58Speaker 2: entire thing. I want to get back to the big
- 20:01Speaker 2: story number three of the week. You may have missed, Senator,
- 20:05Speaker 2: I also want to talk about China and fetanyl for
- 20:08Speaker 2: a moment. You've talked a lot about fetanyl and the
- 20:11Speaker 2: issue at the border. This did seem to be something
- 20:14Speaker 2: that Republicans agreed on that we have a big problem.
- 20:17Speaker 1: The issue is how do you fight back.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Nikki Haley said, time to go to war economically with China,
- 20:23Speaker 2: as she described it, until they stop sending all the
- 20:26Speaker 2: fetanel into this country that's killing Americans.
- 20:28Speaker 1: She described it as they're at war with us.
- 20:30Speaker 2: They're taking our stealing our intellectual property, They're stealing everything
- 20:34Speaker 2: then get their hands on from us. They're setting up
- 20:37Speaker 2: spy bases in Cuba. They've done countless things that compromises countries,
- 20:41Speaker 2: Spy balloons over this country as well. And this president
- 20:45Speaker 2: clearly seems to be compromised and cannot stand up to China.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I think we can all agree on that, but there
- 20:50Speaker 2: did seem to be a sense on stage that hey,
- 20:53Speaker 2: it's time to go on offense and to stop letting
- 20:56Speaker 2: China run all over us.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Well look, you know, it's interesting, said a minute ago
- 21:00Speaker 3: in your question, you said this president Joe Biden has
- 21:04Speaker 3: compromised on China.
- 21:05Speaker 1: It was interesting.
- 21:06Speaker 3: There was not a word said to night about Biden's corruption,
- 21:10Speaker 3: about the and there was very little said about Biden's record.
- 21:16Speaker 3: There was very little said. What I found curious, and
- 21:21Speaker 3: it's why I think most of the candidates.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Did not have a great night tonight.
- 21:25Speaker 3: There was very little said about why they were the
- 21:28Speaker 3: best candidate to beat Donald Trump. And in the primary,
- 21:31Speaker 3: that's the only question is who can win the primary,
- 21:34Speaker 3: And there was very little said about why they were
- 21:37Speaker 3: the best candidate to beat Joe Biden. And at the
- 21:39Speaker 3: end of the day, that's what Republican primary voters are
- 21:42Speaker 3: looking for. And it was it was odd. When it
- 21:47Speaker 3: came to Trump, most of the candidates seemed to forget
- 21:51Speaker 3: that he existed, and when it came to Joe Biden,
- 21:55Speaker 3: by and large, most of the candidates for god, he existed.
- 21:58Speaker 3: And tin to prosecute a case, you're trying to make
- 22:02Speaker 3: the case that I'm the guy or I'm the gal
- 22:06Speaker 3: to take us to victory. And on China, look, there
- 22:11Speaker 3: was some rhetoric China's bad, China's bad, China's bad. But
- 22:15Speaker 3: what we didn't hear from anybody was a systematic, comprehensive
- 22:20Speaker 3: plan to how do we beat China. And I believe
- 22:22Speaker 3: I've talked about this a lot, that we need the
- 22:25Speaker 3: sword of systematic plan that Reagan had to win the
- 22:29Speaker 3: Cold War, a plan that takes on that that combats
- 22:32Speaker 3: China's lies, its murder, it's torture, its genocide, it's espionage,
- 22:37Speaker 3: its theft, its propaganda that goes after China, and there
- 22:41Speaker 3: was very little said about how specifically we do that.
- 22:45Speaker 3: There was some general rhetoric China bad, but not a
- 22:48Speaker 3: whole lot of substance. So therefore, what.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I was shocked to buy what you just mentioned, and
- 22:55Speaker 2: let's dive into this for a moment. I think it
- 22:58Speaker 2: was a huge mistake to not bring up the big
- 23:01Speaker 2: breaking news that you and I broke on this podcast
- 23:05Speaker 2: yesterday in a.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Quarter million dollars sent to Joe Biden's house.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Yeah, from Beijing, and no one mentioned it.
- 23:11Speaker 2: On top of the fact that it broke after we
- 23:13Speaker 2: did that show that based on the plea deal agreement
- 23:18Speaker 2: that was given by David Weiss, it said in that
- 23:21Speaker 2: plea agreement that during the time that payment was made,
- 23:26Speaker 2: the residence for Hunter Biden was in California. That's in
- 23:29Speaker 2: the plea agreement that came out as kind of like, hey,
- 23:31Speaker 2: if you think that he was living in this house
- 23:34Speaker 2: that's the same residence of the President of the United
- 23:36Speaker 2: States America, you know, in Delaware, you're wrong. The plea
- 23:40Speaker 2: agreement said during the time, and it also came out
- 23:43Speaker 2: afterwards Center that in his own book that Hunter Biden wrote.
- 23:47Speaker 2: He also said in his book that he was living
- 23:49Speaker 2: in California at the time that wire transfer would have
- 23:52Speaker 2: come through. So there's even a bigger problem there, and
- 23:55Speaker 2: no one said anything about it on stage.
- 23:58Speaker 1: That was a huge mistake, I think for all of them.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Well, if you think about any moment, and this was
- 24:05Speaker 3: a long debate. This was a two hour debate. And
- 24:07Speaker 3: by the way, I got to say, there's something weird
- 24:09Speaker 3: about the debate at the Reagan Library. So in twenty sixteen,
- 24:13Speaker 3: we had a debate at the Reagan Library right on
- 24:15Speaker 3: the stage where they were, and the twenty sixteen debate
- 24:18Speaker 3: that was the CNN debate, and it went three hours.
- 24:21Speaker 3: It was the longest debate of the entire cycle. And
- 24:24Speaker 3: I remember, I don't know if this was true tonight,
- 24:27Speaker 3: but in twenty sixteen, the Reagan Library did not have
- 24:30Speaker 3: air conditioning that was made to survive the cleague lights
- 24:35Speaker 3: of a television debate, and so it was hot.
- 24:39Speaker 1: And that many warm bodies in the room.
- 24:40Speaker 2: People don't realize as rooms get hot when you have
- 24:42Speaker 2: that many people in there.
- 24:43Speaker 3: There was a whole audience of people that there are
- 24:46Speaker 3: bright lights. I remember by the third hour, we were
- 24:50Speaker 3: drenched in sweat and I was standing there. I was
- 24:53Speaker 3: actually standing, Mike Huckabee was next to me, Marco Rubio
- 24:56Speaker 3: was next to me. Actually, Marco, to his credit, had
- 24:59Speaker 3: a hankchief, which which he let both Huckabye and me
- 25:03Speaker 3: use because we were both sweating like crazy and it
- 25:05Speaker 3: was by hour three. It was unpleasant. Now, the good
- 25:08Speaker 3: news is I think there were six people in the
- 25:11Speaker 3: entire world that stayed up to watch the third hour
- 25:13Speaker 3: of that debate, so it didn't matter that we all
- 25:15Speaker 3: looked like we were drowning in our own sweat. I
- 25:19Speaker 3: couldn't tell if they had the same issue this time,
- 25:23Speaker 3: but I will say in two hours it was striking
- 25:27Speaker 3: that there was not really an effective case made. Here's
- 25:32Speaker 3: how we beat Joe Biden, and that matters a lot.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Nor was there an effective case. You know, Dana Prino
- 25:37Speaker 3: tried to get to it when she said, Okay, write
- 25:40Speaker 3: down on your piece of paper who you're going to
- 25:42Speaker 3: vote off the island. And by the way, I will
- 25:44Speaker 3: credit the candidates for all of them saying no, we're
- 25:47Speaker 3: not playing that kind of BS game. That was the
- 25:49Speaker 3: right response for them to say no. But even though
- 25:54Speaker 3: you don't write on a card. You're not playing Jeopardy.
- 25:57Speaker 3: There wasn't really anyone making the case other than the Santis,
- 26:01Speaker 3: which is why I think he won tonight. There wasn't
- 26:04Speaker 3: really anyone making the case. I'm the right standard bearer
- 26:07Speaker 3: to win the primary, and I'm the right standard bearer
- 26:10Speaker 3: to win the general, and here's how and why.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Yeah, there was also a lot of misses.
- 26:16Speaker 2: People said, at least in response online, that this debate
- 26:19Speaker 2: was on Univision and they didn't feel like the candidates
- 26:22Speaker 2: did a good enough job reaching out to Hispanic voters.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Your reaction to that as well.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Look, I think they did almost nothing. I mean to
- 26:31Speaker 3: Hispanic voters. Listen, the Hispanic community. Our community is fundamentally conservative.
- 26:37Speaker 3: It is culturally conservative. You look at the values that
- 26:41Speaker 3: resonate in the Hispanic community.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Family oriented, very family oriented.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Family faith, patriotism, hard work, the American dream. Those are
- 26:51Speaker 3: values that are fundamentally conservative. You didn't see anyone saying,
- 26:54Speaker 3: you know what, you want to talk about the Hispanic community.
- 26:56Speaker 3: The Hispanic community in South Texas and in californ Horn
- 27:00Speaker 3: in Arizona's getting hammered by seven point six million illegal
- 27:04Speaker 3: immigrants by the way every candidate tonight got the number wrong.
- 27:07Speaker 3: They all said six million. Your numbers or are a
- 27:10Speaker 3: million and a half off. It's up to seven point six.
- 27:13Speaker 3: The candidates should get their numbers right. But they didn't
- 27:16Speaker 3: talk about the misery that is being imposed on the
- 27:20Speaker 3: Hispanic community by this crisis of illegal immigration. They didn't
- 27:23Speaker 3: talk about Hispanic families that are getting hammered by rising inflation.
- 27:27Speaker 3: They didn't talk about Hispanic families that are getting hammered
- 27:30Speaker 3: by rising crime rates. They didn't talk extensively about the
- 27:36Speaker 3: Democrat efforts to defund the police and George Soros prosecutors.
- 27:40Speaker 3: They had some of that actually, their discussion of crime.
- 27:43Speaker 3: There was some decent moments, But the point you just
- 27:47Speaker 3: made men, nobody connected it to the Hispanic community. No
- 27:50Speaker 3: one connected it to the African American community. And that's
- 27:53Speaker 3: a point that I think is important to make that
- 27:56Speaker 3: I hope in subsequent debates we get people making more clearly.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Lastly, Center, there was another moment, and it's a viral moment.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I understand, and you can explain this.
- 28:07Speaker 1: You want a moment.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Every candidate wants a moment when they're on stage, and
- 28:11Speaker 2: they want to have these big moments that are talked about.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Nikki Haley tried to land one against the deck, and
- 28:18Speaker 2: this is what it sounded like.
- 28:20Speaker 6: Every time I hear you, I feel a little bit
- 28:22Speaker 6: dumber for what you say.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I don't think that landed the way she was hoping.
- 28:26Speaker 2: It didn't come across to me as I was watching
- 28:29Speaker 2: it is this, you know, big moment. I get that
- 28:32Speaker 2: what she was trying to accomplish. Was that a mistake?
- 28:36Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a mistake. That moment was harsh and
- 28:40Speaker 3: it seemed too harsh. Look, look, Haley's a talented candidate.
- 28:44Speaker 3: She's a talented communicator. She's one of the best communicators
- 28:47Speaker 3: on that stage. She had a really good night in
- 28:50Speaker 3: the first debate. This one was not nearly as good.
- 28:53Speaker 3: That shot was mean spirited, It wasn't substantive in a debate.
- 28:58Speaker 3: I think you're almost always better disagreeing with someone on
- 29:01Speaker 3: substance rather than just sort of one line at hominem attacks.
- 29:06Speaker 3: And by the way, look, you can disagree with Vivek
- 29:09Speaker 3: because you could say that he doesn't have the experience
- 29:11Speaker 3: to be president. You can disagree with him on policy,
- 29:14Speaker 3: but the guy's not dumb. He's a smart guy. So
- 29:18Speaker 3: the claim every time I listen to you, I feel
- 29:21Speaker 3: dumber like that, that is a pretty condescending comment that
- 29:26Speaker 3: going back to my point before, in a debate, you
- 29:30Speaker 3: want truth and authenticity, You want the words coming out
- 29:32Speaker 3: of your mouth for people to say, yeah, yeah, that's right. Yeah,
- 29:34Speaker 3: I agree with that, And I don't think very many
- 29:37Speaker 3: people agreed with that, and so it diminished her more
- 29:41Speaker 3: than it diminished Vivek. Now, I do think the other
- 29:45Speaker 3: candidates on that stage are pretty chippy towards Vivek because
- 29:48Speaker 3: he was pretty condescending and nasty to them in debate
- 29:50Speaker 3: number one, and he made him shine. But there's some
- 29:54Speaker 3: grudges that were playing out tonight. I'll also point out
- 29:56Speaker 3: there that there were moments when when Nicki Haley and
- 29:59Speaker 3: Tim Scott were going at each other and they were
- 30:01Speaker 3: just yelling at each other, back and forth and back
- 30:03Speaker 3: and forth, and it was kind of a South Carolina
- 30:07Speaker 3: pissing fight, and my take on it, that didn't really
- 30:12Speaker 3: help either one of them. It was too parochial. I
- 30:15Speaker 3: don't know that a whole lot of people care about
- 30:18Speaker 3: the internecine fights in South Carolina, and I think the
- 30:24Speaker 3: effect of it is that both of them seemed to
- 30:27Speaker 3: be taking their eye off the ball, that the objective
- 30:31Speaker 3: is first to win the primary and then to beat
- 30:33Speaker 3: Joe Biden in the general, and I think that back
- 30:35Speaker 3: and forth bickering didn't help either one of them in
- 30:37Speaker 3: that respect.
- 30:39Speaker 2: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with center
