Transcript
- Tony Hughes: Trump has railed against mail-in voting and of course the election they had last week in Florida, that special election, he voted by mail. ⁓ also South Dakota has been kind of interesting because he a convicted felon. He was never sentenced but he does have felony convictions his record. How could he vote? Well, those felonies, I found out that those felonies were in New York. And in New York, Charles Barfield: Yes. Tony Hughes: you don't lose your right to vote just because you're convicted felon. Now if you're actually incarcerated, you can't vote. But because if you're not in prison, you can vote. And in Florida... It's no question you're a felon and you can't vote, but because it is a state issue, Florida defaults to the state where your conviction is. So if you're allowed to vote in the state where your felony conviction is, you're allowed to vote in Florida, even with felony convictions. So because he was convicted in New York, but he's not in prison, he can still vote. You can still vote in Florida, which I thought was kind of interesting. You know, talking about, talking about both sides of your mouth. mean, all the things he rails against, he's taking advantage of.
