- 0:01Speaker 1: We've got a chart of how quickly the prices went
- 0:04Speaker 1: up and how they followed crude, and we're going to
- 0:06Speaker 1: hold them accountable. On the other side, President Trump talked
- 0:09Speaker 1: about it the past week. Eve had a very powerful
- 0:12Speaker 1: truth social yesterday. So I would encourage all the gasoline retailers.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Some of them are owned by big oil, some are independent,
- 0:20Speaker 1: some are international convenience changs. I would encourage them to
- 0:24Speaker 1: be good actors, especially in the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary, because.
- 0:27Speaker 2: We're watching you're listening to the forty seven Morning Update
- 0:30Speaker 2: with Ben ferguson.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Good Friday morning. It's so nice to have you with
- 0:33Speaker 3: us on the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got
- 0:35Speaker 3: one big story for you. As we celebrate America's two
- 0:39Speaker 3: hundred and fiftieth birthday. There are many on the left
- 0:42Speaker 3: and many liberals that are advocates for destroying this country.
- 0:47Speaker 3: So why is it they just can't celebrate how amazing
- 0:50Speaker 3: America is. We're going to dive into that before we
- 0:53Speaker 3: get to that, though, As America celebrates this two hundred
- 0:56Speaker 3: and fiftieth anniversary, there is a milestone that is happening
- 0:59Speaker 3: right now now. And not only is it a time
- 1:01Speaker 3: to reflect on the enduring relationship that we have with
- 1:05Speaker 3: the US and Israel. It's our greatest ally now. President
- 1:09Speaker 3: John F. Kennedy once said, Israel was not created in
- 1:12Speaker 3: order to disappear. Israel will endure and flourish. Those words
- 1:17Speaker 3: capture the spirit of a young democracy determined to survive
- 1:22Speaker 3: two nations literally thousands of miles apart, yet united by
- 1:26Speaker 3: shared values of democracy, faith, freedom, and resilience. So as
- 1:31Speaker 3: America celebrates two hundred fifty years of independence the International
- 1:35Speaker 3: Fellowship of Christians and Jews, they turn to God in
- 1:38Speaker 3: prayer and asking that is wisdom will guide elected officials
- 1:42Speaker 3: and lead America and Israel to moral clarity and national unity.
- 1:47Speaker 3: That is something that's amazing. And I want to give
- 1:50Speaker 3: you something right now for free, to celebrate all of this,
- 1:53Speaker 3: I want you to receive a free USA Israel flagpen.
- 1:58Speaker 3: I wear it every day when I'm on TV. And
- 2:00Speaker 3: you can get the same pin that I wear by
- 2:02Speaker 3: going online to FLAGPENIFCJ dot org. That's flagpen if CJ
- 2:11Speaker 3: dot org, flagpen ifcj dot org and get your free
- 2:16Speaker 3: US Israeli pin right now. It's the forty seven Morning
- 2:20Speaker 3: Update and it starts right now.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Senator, I want to spend a moment and talk about
- 2:26Speaker 3: how there are two ways that we can go as
- 2:29Speaker 3: a country moving forward. We can either continue to be
- 2:32Speaker 3: proud of this country, continue to grow, continue to learn
- 2:35Speaker 3: by the way from mistakes that we've made, to become
- 2:38Speaker 3: an even better country than we are right now. Or
- 2:41Speaker 3: we can take the other road. And that other road
- 2:43Speaker 3: actually seems to be pretty darn clear. It is the
- 2:47Speaker 3: Democratic model to be ashamed of this country and to
- 2:50Speaker 3: fundamentally want to destroy it from within. We are witnessing
- 2:53Speaker 3: and watching candidates across the country running and winning on
- 2:56Speaker 3: this platform that is obviously very very concerning. I want
- 3:01Speaker 3: to get your reaction to where we are now, two
- 3:04Speaker 3: hundred and fifty years.
- 3:04Speaker 4: In well, I want to do something that may surprise you.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I want to speak directly to Democrats. Now, I recognize
- 3:13Speaker 4: they're probably not a ton of Democrats that are listeners
- 3:16Speaker 4: to this podcast.
- 3:17Speaker 5: I hope there's some.
- 3:18Speaker 4: And actually, when I talk to young people, when I
- 3:20Speaker 4: talk to college kids, when I talk to high school kids,
- 3:22Speaker 4: I encourage them. Wherever you are in the political spectrum,
- 3:27Speaker 4: try to listen to both sides and pick a podcast
- 3:30Speaker 4: or two on the left, a podcast or two on
- 3:32Speaker 4: the right. Obviously, I suggest this one on the right
- 3:34Speaker 4: is one to listen to, but assess so. And by
- 3:36Speaker 4: the way, there are also a ton of reporters that
- 3:38Speaker 4: listen to this podcast. It's one of the interesting and
- 3:41Speaker 4: really powerful things this pod does is we drive news.
- 3:44Speaker 4: So there are a ton of reporters, and almost all
- 3:46Speaker 4: reporters are politically left. So if you're left of center,
- 3:49Speaker 4: if you're a Democrat, I want to give a message
- 3:52Speaker 4: to you on our nation's two hundred and fiftieth birthday.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Do not let the Democrat Party be conquered and colonized
- 4:04Speaker 4: by socialists and communists. And I say that with all sincerity.
- 4:09Speaker 5: Listen.
- 4:09Speaker 4: I disagree with Democrats. I disagree with Democrats on a
- 4:12Speaker 4: lot of issues. I spent fourteen years in the Senate battling.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Now by the way, I don't treat my Democrat colleagues
- 4:19Speaker 4: with contempt. I don't treat them meanly. I don't insult
- 4:22Speaker 4: them personally. Where we find common ground, we work together.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Where we disagree, I try to engage on substance, but
- 4:30Speaker 4: I treat them with respect. And I want every Democrat
- 4:34Speaker 4: within the sound of my voice to listen. You are
- 4:38Speaker 4: facing a hostile takeover of your party. The socialists who
- 4:45Speaker 4: are winning primaries in New York, they're winning primaries in Colorado.
- 4:50Speaker 4: They are not Democrats. They are and understand, Socialist is
- 4:55Speaker 4: the sort of nice suite, moogenized term for what they
- 5:02Speaker 4: in fact are, which is America hating communists. Listen, communism,
- 5:08Speaker 4: the economic system of communism is socialism. Anyone who calls
- 5:13Speaker 4: themselves a democrat democratic socialist today is in fact a communist.
- 5:18Speaker 4: And many of the DSA leaders you can find lots
- 5:22Speaker 4: of videos of them saying, look, our goal is communism, communism.
- 5:26Speaker 4: I speak from personal experience. My family was imprisoned and
- 5:32Speaker 4: tortured and nearly killed by communists in Cuba. Communism has
- 5:37Speaker 4: brought misery across the globe. It has brought misery. It
- 5:41Speaker 4: has killed over one hundred million people between Russia, between China,
- 5:46Speaker 4: between Vietnam, but between Cambodia, between Venezuela, between North Korea
- 5:51Speaker 4: between Cuba.
- 5:52Speaker 5: Communism has been It's not an accident.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Every nation that has imposed communism has results in massive
- 6:00Speaker 4: human rights violation, murder and torture, and oppression. When the
- 6:04Speaker 4: government has all power, your rights go away, because communism
- 6:10Speaker 4: is based on the inverse of the premiss America was
- 6:14Speaker 4: based on. Communism is based on the premise that government
- 6:17Speaker 4: has the power, ostensibly in an egalitarian purpose to empower
- 6:24Speaker 4: the proletariat. But every single instance, not most, not a lot,
- 6:29Speaker 4: all of them, communism results in massive oppression and suffering
- 6:34Speaker 4: and misery and poverty and death. And so I want
- 6:39Speaker 4: to say to Democrats, look, I look at my Democrat
- 6:43Speaker 4: colleagues in the Senate. Most of them are not, in
- 6:48Speaker 4: fact socialist or communists. They're just scared. They're looking at
- 6:52Speaker 4: their party. And by the way, if you're not a
- 6:54Speaker 4: socialist or communist and you're a Democrat, you're getting primary
- 6:57Speaker 4: right down beaten. And they're like, Okay, I don't want
- 7:00Speaker 4: to get beaten. So I'm just going to stay quiet,
- 7:02Speaker 4: and I'm going to give the radical left what they want,
- 7:07Speaker 4: and I'm going to make a plea fight to take
- 7:10Speaker 4: your party back. I don't want you to become Republicans. Well,
- 7:14Speaker 4: yes I do, but I'd settle for just a rational
- 7:19Speaker 4: Democrat party. Like, if you think the top marginal tax
- 7:23Speaker 4: rate ought to be ten percent higher than it is,
- 7:26Speaker 4: I disagree with you on that. But we can have
- 7:28Speaker 4: a conversation. If you want more government regulation, I want less. Okay,
- 7:33Speaker 4: we can have a rational conversation about that. But if
- 7:36Speaker 4: you look at the communists who are winning primaries right now,
- 7:41Speaker 4: they're openly calling for abolishing the police. They're openly calling
- 7:45Speaker 4: for abolishing borders, they're openly calling for abolishing prisons. Let
- 7:49Speaker 4: me ask you something. If you shut down mon Dommie
- 7:52Speaker 4: said this week he's going to shut down Rikers Island.
- 7:55Speaker 4: What do you think happens to this country if we
- 7:58Speaker 4: release all the murder.
- 8:00Speaker 5: All the rapist, all the child blesters.
- 8:03Speaker 4: For the Democrat Party, I think you're facing an existential
- 8:07Speaker 4: challenge in your party, and if your party becomes a
- 8:11Speaker 4: socialist and communist party, it will hurt America. By the way,
- 8:14Speaker 4: I want to say two other things, and then I
- 8:16Speaker 4: want you to comment on it. Number one, there's some
- 8:18Speaker 4: Republicans who are sort of quietly celebrating, saying, okay, Democrats
- 8:22Speaker 4: have gone crazy.
- 8:24Speaker 5: That means Republicans are gonna win. And that may be right.
- 8:27Speaker 4: It may be that we can go campaign and say
- 8:29Speaker 4: these people are really out there and don't vote for them.
- 8:34Speaker 4: I don't want that outcome as much as I'd like
- 8:37Speaker 4: Republicans to win. If one of our two major parties
- 8:42Speaker 4: becomes absolutely insane.
- 8:45Speaker 5: That's bad for America.
- 8:47Speaker 4: I'd rather we debate within the forty yard lines instead
- 8:51Speaker 4: of going crazy one way. And so there is a
- 8:57Speaker 4: real fight. And secondly, there may be some Democrats listening,
- 9:01Speaker 4: or even some reporters listening, who say, look, that's easy
- 9:05Speaker 4: for you to say you want us to take on
- 9:06Speaker 4: these people, but if we do that, we'll be thrying
- 9:10Speaker 4: out all office, we'll lose a primary. And I want
- 9:13Speaker 4: to point out I'm engaged in this same fight in
- 9:16Speaker 4: the Republican side right now, the woke right that is
- 9:20Speaker 4: trying to destroy the Republican Party, that is trying to
- 9:23Speaker 4: turn us into a big government, left wing party, that
- 9:26Speaker 4: is trying to turn us into an isolationist party, an
- 9:29Speaker 4: Israel hating party, an America hating party. I am fighting
- 9:34Speaker 4: the Tucker Carlson's and all of his acolytes in my
- 9:37Speaker 4: party and at not inconsiderable personal and political risk. And
- 9:42Speaker 4: so I want to call out to Democrats on this
- 9:45Speaker 4: nation's two hundred and fiftieth anniversary, is there anyone who
- 9:49Speaker 4: will stand up and say, damn it, I will lose,
- 9:52Speaker 4: I will be voted out of office rather than lose
- 9:55Speaker 4: my party and lose my country. This may surprise you.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Look for those of y'all that are regular Verdict listeners,
- 10:03Speaker 4: you probably did not anticipate my making a flead Democrats,
- 10:07Speaker 4: particularly our nation's two hundred and fiftieth anniversary. But I
- 10:11Speaker 4: pray that there are some Democrats who like JFK and FDR,
- 10:16Speaker 4: love America and are willing to say I'm not going
- 10:20Speaker 4: to roll over and see our nation destroyed. I want
- 10:23Speaker 4: us to have a three hundreds and of four hundredth
- 10:25Speaker 4: and five anniversary.
