- 0:01Speaker 1: I think that the United Kingdom, like every other country,
- 0:04Speaker 1: they want to be go shopping in the United States
- 0:07Speaker 1: of America. China wants to very much wants to make
- 0:10Speaker 1: a deal. They all do. Every country wants to make
- 0:12Speaker 1: a deal, and not the ones they had in the past,
- 0:15Speaker 1: where we were being.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Ripped off by every country practically without exception, in the
- 0:20Speaker 2: entire world. And those days are you're listening to the
- 0:23Speaker 2: forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Good Wednesday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:28Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update. Ben Ferguson with you, and
- 0:31Speaker 3: here are the three big stories you need to know about.
- 0:33Speaker 3: First up, a major win for the President of the
- 0:37Speaker 3: United States of America as the Supreme Court stays the
- 0:41Speaker 3: lower court ruling allowing Donald Trump and the transgender ban
- 0:46Speaker 3: in the military to proceed. What happens next, I'll have
- 0:51Speaker 3: that for you in just a second. Up next, Tom
- 0:54Speaker 3: Homan making it very clear after police officers were attacked
- 0:58Speaker 3: by illegal immigrants in New York that we are going
- 1:01Speaker 3: to flood sanctuary cities with ICE agents and we will
- 1:06Speaker 3: go after illegal immigrants at their places of work. How
- 1:11Speaker 3: big of an impact do this have? You'll hear from
- 1:13Speaker 3: Tom Homan in just a moment. And finally Trump administration
- 1:18Speaker 3: has come in and shut down the CDC's Infection Control Committee.
- 1:23Speaker 3: They were in charge of many of the guidelines during
- 1:25Speaker 3: COVID nineteen outbreak that were ridiculous and had no basis
- 1:30Speaker 3: in science. The community is obviously fighting back and I'll
- 1:34Speaker 3: give you those details as well. Before we get to
- 1:37Speaker 3: those stories, I want to tell you about the International
- 1:39Speaker 3: Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Did you know, just like
- 1:43Speaker 3: here in the US, Israel has their own Independence Day
- 1:47Speaker 3: In case you missed it, this year's Israel Independence Day
- 1:50Speaker 3: was a few days ago on May first. But for
- 1:52Speaker 3: the people of Israel, freedom is nothing more than a
- 1:56Speaker 3: daily struggle just to survive. There's no real peace, only tear,
- 2:00Speaker 3: no joy, just suffering. Even as rockets have hit their
- 2:03Speaker 3: airport in the last few days, the Israeli government recognizes
- 2:07Speaker 3: the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews for ongoing help
- 2:11Speaker 3: to make sure the elderly, the sick, the wounded soldiers,
- 2:14Speaker 3: and the impoverished families don't fall through the cracks. That
- 2:18Speaker 3: is why your gift to the Fellowship today is so
- 2:21Speaker 3: important and will provide life saving aid medicine. Hearty meals
- 2:26Speaker 3: safety and comfort. I believe that when we bless the
- 2:29Speaker 3: people of Israel, we unlock God's blessing in our lives
- 2:32Speaker 3: as well. So show your support for Israel's independence by
- 2:37Speaker 3: making a life saving gift today. Call IFCJ at eight
- 2:41Speaker 3: eight eight for eight eight IFCJ that's eight eight eight

- 2:54Speaker 4: Org story number one.
- 2:55Speaker 3: The Supreme Court gave President Donald Trump a very big
- 3:00Speaker 3: victory on Tuesday by allowing him to exclude openly transgender
- 3:05Speaker 3: individuals from the military. In a brief order, the Supreme
- 3:09Speaker 3: Court Justices granted an emergency request from the Trump administration
- 3:13Speaker 3: to lift a nationwide injunction blocking the policy. According to
- 3:18Speaker 3: the latest breaking news outside of the court, the Court
- 3:22Speaker 3: lifted the temporary injunction and while litigation will continue, it
- 3:27Speaker 3: is likely that the policy will in fact stay in place.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Quote the order says, the application for stay, presented to
- 3:35Speaker 3: Justice Kagan and by her referred to the Court, is granted.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Now.
- 3:40Speaker 3: The March to twenty seventh preliminary injunction entered by the
- 3:43Speaker 3: United States District Court for the Western District of DC
- 3:46Speaker 3: is stayed, penning the deposition of the appeal in the
- 3:49Speaker 3: United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Supreme
- 3:52Speaker 3: Court Justices Soudamior, Elena Kagan, and Kanji Brown Jackson would
- 3:58Speaker 3: quote deny the application. The US order concluded, breaking news
- 4:02Speaker 3: is this the Supreme Court will allow the Trump Administration's
- 4:06Speaker 3: transgender military band to take effect. The Trump administration argued
- 4:10Speaker 3: in its filing that stalling the policy could hinder US
- 4:14Speaker 3: military readiness and ask the Supreme Court to block the
- 4:17Speaker 3: lower court's ruling halting the ban. The Justice asked the
- 4:21Speaker 3: plaintiffs in the case to file a response by next week,
- 4:25Speaker 3: indicating that they could move quickly on the issue. The
- 4:28Speaker 3: Trump administration's requests that the Supreme Court unblock its policy
- 4:32Speaker 3: on not allowing transgender troops in the military comes after
- 4:36Speaker 3: the US District Judge Benjamin Settle issued a preliminary injunction
- 4:41Speaker 3: preventing the Trump administration from removing transgender troops from the
- 4:45Speaker 3: military while the litigation was ongoing. Now, this all goes
- 4:49Speaker 3: back to January twenty seventh, when Trump issued that executive
- 4:54Speaker 3: order prioritizing what he described as military excellence and readiness
- 4:59Speaker 3: over DEI and the woke agenda of the Biden administration.
- 5:03Speaker 3: He stated that the policy of the US government is
- 5:07Speaker 3: to quote establish high standards for troop readiness, lethality, cohesion, honesty, humility, uniformity,
- 5:16Speaker 3: and integrity. This policy is inconsistent with the medical, surgical,
- 5:21Speaker 3: and mental health constraints on individuals with gender dysphoria, the
- 5:26Speaker 3: executive order added at the time, saying quote this policy
- 5:30Speaker 3: is also inconsistent with shifting pronoun usage or use of
- 5:35Speaker 3: pronouns that inaccurately reflect an individual's sex. On February the seventh,
- 5:41Speaker 3: the Secretary of Defense Pete Headseth issued a directive which
- 5:44Speaker 3: paused the all new accessions of individuals with a history
- 5:49Speaker 3: of gender dysphoria. The directive also paused all unscheduled, scheduled,
- 5:54Speaker 3: or planned medical procedures associated with affirming or facilitating a
- 6:00Speaker 3: gender transition quote unquote. Now you may remember the US
- 6:05Speaker 3: Air Force Academy hosted a quote transgender Pentagon official for
- 6:09Speaker 3: a symposium on inclusion. Our military at the time was
- 6:13Speaker 3: clearly focused on transgender dogma while wars were raging onto continents,
- 6:19Speaker 3: and this is exactly why the President of the United
- 6:21Speaker 3: States of America said, we're not doing this anymore.
- 6:25Speaker 5: All too often I hear leaders talk about providing everyone
- 6:29Speaker 5: with dignity and respect like it's an aspirational goal.
- 6:33Speaker 4: That's not good enough.
- 6:35Speaker 5: Dignity and respect is the bare minimum, it's the floor
- 6:40Speaker 5: of where we can be. We must set our sites
- 6:42Speaker 5: higher and focus on intentional inclusivity because there are still
- 6:47Speaker 5: far too many people out there, not just LGBTQ individuals,
- 6:52Speaker 5: that feel marginalized, shut out, or discriminated against. So for
- 6:56Speaker 5: all of you out there, I ask you to set
- 6:58Speaker 5: out your symbols of pride, share your pronouns in your email,
- 7:02Speaker 5: particularly if you're a person who doesn't think they need
- 7:05Speaker 5: to initiate difficult conversations about racial and gender barriers, and
- 7:11Speaker 5: share a bit of your vulnerability in a way that
- 7:14Speaker 5: draws others in. You all have the power to take
- 7:18Speaker 5: intentionally inclusive actions to ensure the multiple perspectives that we
- 7:24Speaker 5: know make us stronger as we devise winning war fighting
- 7:27Speaker 5: strategies get heard.
- 7:29Speaker 3: That was what the last administration valued, instead of readiness
- 7:34Speaker 3: of our troops. A RAFs Musen survey, by the Way,
- 7:37Speaker 3: conducted between January the twenty ninth and thirtieth and February.
- 7:41Speaker 3: The second found that likely voters fifty four percent voters
- 7:46Speaker 3: approved of Trump's executive order to ban transender troops from
- 7:49Speaker 3: military service, including thirty eight percent who strongly approved of
- 7:53Speaker 3: the policy. The bottom line, Donald Trump said, we're out
- 7:57Speaker 3: with the Biden radical agenda and we're going back to
- 8:00Speaker 3: what our military is supposed to do, keep us safe.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Next story number two, the.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Trump administration has announced a significant escalation immigration enforcement targeting
- 8:11Speaker 3: sanctuary cities, Tom Homan stating that if local jurisdictions continue
- 8:16Speaker 3: to resist cooperation with federal immigration authorities, the federal government
- 8:21Speaker 3: will respond by increasing the presence of ICE agents in
- 8:25Speaker 3: these areas. Homan emphasized that sanctuary cities are quote going
- 8:30Speaker 3: to get exactly what they don't want, more agents in
- 8:34Speaker 3: their community, and warned that ICE is prepared to double
- 8:37Speaker 3: the man force if we have to to carry out.
- 8:40Speaker 1: The enforcement actions now.
- 8:42Speaker 3: This intensified approach includes a focus on work site enforcement,
- 8:47Speaker 3: the White House says. Homan indicated that if ICE agents
- 8:50Speaker 3: are unable to make arrests in jails or on the
- 8:54Speaker 3: streets due to local non cooperation with law enforcement, in
- 8:57Speaker 3: the court systems, then they will increase operations at workplaces.
- 9:02Speaker 1: He stated, if we can't do it.
- 9:04Speaker 3: In the streets, we're going to increase work site enforcement
- 9:07Speaker 3: operations in those sanctuary cities, and we're going to flood
- 9:11Speaker 3: work site enforcement operations. Now, these statements have sparked quote controversy,
- 9:16Speaker 3: the media claims and immigration advocacy groups are fighting back,
- 9:21Speaker 3: arguing that such aggressive enforcement tactics could quote strain community
- 9:26Speaker 3: relations and lead to the targeting of non criminal undocumented immigrants.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Now this comes as the media also freaked out saying
- 9:35Speaker 3: that Donald Trump took all of the fun out of
- 9:38Speaker 3: Cinco de Mayo. Why because many cities canceled or downplayed
- 9:42Speaker 3: their Singo Demyo events for fear of ice raids and deportations.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Chicago residents and the president of their local community group
- 9:51Speaker 3: said that people in the Hispanic community are quote very
- 9:55Speaker 3: scared of gathering in public, with some even considering going
- 9:59Speaker 3: back to Mexico on their own. By the way, that
- 10:01Speaker 3: is absolutely what the Trump administration is saying they want
- 10:05Speaker 3: to happen. Quote, our people are very scared. Honestly, they're
- 10:08Speaker 3: saying they don't want to go to work. They have
- 10:11Speaker 3: to go to work because they have to feed their families,
- 10:13Speaker 3: so if they both were working, now one person is working.
- 10:17Speaker 3: As to why they cancel the Singo Demio parade in
- 10:20Speaker 3: Chicago's Little Village, which attracts up to three hundred thousand
- 10:23Speaker 3: people annually, Escobar said that too many people are just afraid.
- 10:28Speaker 3: How about the parade, how about the festivities? And they say, well,
- 10:32Speaker 3: if we're scared to go to work, I don't think
- 10:34Speaker 3: it's nothing to celebrate.
- 10:35Speaker 1: So that took us to the decision over money.
- 10:38Speaker 3: We all see this country as picking up people with
- 10:42Speaker 3: no criminal records, he claims, which is actually not true.
- 10:45Speaker 3: If you come to the United States of America legally,
- 10:48Speaker 3: you are a criminal. Back to the statement, and honestly,
- 10:51Speaker 3: it's a horrible way we have seen in my last
- 10:54Speaker 3: forty five years I've been living here in the US,
- 10:57Speaker 3: nothing like it. And so let's just be clear, this
- 11:00Speaker 3: is exactly what the President of the United States of
- 11:03Speaker 3: America wanted. He wanted illegal immigrants to not feel safe
- 11:06Speaker 3: staying in the US. He wanted them to be looking
- 11:09Speaker 3: over his shoulder and is hoping that many will be
- 11:12Speaker 3: deporting themselves, whether it's Chicago or Philadelphia, many other cities,
- 11:17Speaker 3: even in Oregon, the Latino Fest was also canceled there
- 11:21Speaker 3: as the executive director of the Latino Community Association said
- 11:24Speaker 3: there's just too much fear among illegal immigrants or has
- 11:27Speaker 3: he described them migrants of being identified or detained simply
- 11:31Speaker 3: for participating in our cultural celebrations of Cinco de Mayo.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Democrats are also blaming Donald Trump for the quote economic impact,
- 11:40Speaker 3: saying the cancelations have had significant economic repercussions. In Chicago,
- 11:46Speaker 3: the Chamber of Commerce put out a statement estimating a
- 11:50Speaker 3: loss of approximately one point five million in direct income
- 11:53Speaker 3: for the city in between five and six million for
- 11:56Speaker 3: local businesses due to the parades cancelation on Cinco de Now.
- 12:01Speaker 3: All of this complaining comes at a time whether a
- 12:03Speaker 3: shocking video has come out showing illegal immigrants attacking police
- 12:08Speaker 3: officers in New York. Tom Homan sitting down with Laura
- 12:12Speaker 3: Ingram on Fox talking about his plan to flood ice
- 12:16Speaker 3: workforce in sanctuary cities.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Take a listen, game's over.
- 12:20Speaker 6: We're going to look for these public safety threats and
- 12:23Speaker 6: we're going to take them off the streets in New
- 12:25Speaker 6: York and every other Sanctuarius city. A matter of fact,
- 12:26Speaker 6: every Singuaru theority city. We're going to triple the workforce.
- 12:30Speaker 6: We're gonna flood the zone with officers. And we can't
- 12:33Speaker 6: wrestle in jail, We'll wrestling in the community. If we
- 12:35Speaker 6: can arrest me in the community or arrest at their
- 12:37Speaker 6: work site. We're going to triple work site enforcement operations.
- 12:41Speaker 6: We're going to flood the zone. We're going to take
- 12:43Speaker 6: these public safety threats off the streets with your help
- 12:45Speaker 6: or without your help.
- 12:46Speaker 3: One thanks for sure, law and order is back, and
- 12:49Speaker 3: the President of United States of America is encouraging all
- 12:52Speaker 3: of those impositions of power around him to do the
- 12:55Speaker 3: will of the people, which is to.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Get rid of illegal immigrants in this country.
- 12:59Speaker 4: And finally, story number three.
- 13:01Speaker 3: In a very strong move, the Trump administration is shut
- 13:05Speaker 3: down the CDC's Infection Control Committee. It was a four
- 13:10Speaker 3: member committee and they were all terminated the administration, making
- 13:15Speaker 3: it very clear that the federal advisory committee that issued
- 13:19Speaker 3: guidance about preventing the spread of infectious diseases in healthcare
- 13:23Speaker 3: facilities was pretty much worthless. The Healthcare Infection Control Practices
- 13:28Speaker 3: Advisory Committee crafted national standards for hand washing, mask wearing,
- 13:34Speaker 3: and isolating sick patients that most of the US hospitals follow.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Four committee members said the Center for Disease Control and
- 13:42Speaker 3: Prevention delivered the news about the termination to its members
- 13:45Speaker 3: on Friday, a letter reviewed now by NBC News, which
- 13:50Speaker 3: members said the CDC sent out after a virtual meeting,
- 13:53Speaker 3: saying the termination took effect more than a month previously
- 13:57Speaker 3: on March thirty first. According to the letter, the termination
- 14:00Speaker 3: alignes with President Donald Trump's executive order calling for a
- 14:04Speaker 3: reduction of the federal workforce for professional societies previously asked
- 14:10Speaker 3: the Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior,
- 14:13Speaker 3: in a letter on March of twenty six, to preserve
- 14:16Speaker 3: the committee amid widespread cuts to federal health agencies. The
- 14:20Speaker 3: CDC and the Department of Health and Human Services did
- 14:24Speaker 3: not immediately respond to requests for comment from NBC News.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Yes you can laugh at that.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Several of the committee's web pages have already been archived,
- 14:33Speaker 3: meaning they are still available to view online.
- 14:35Speaker 1: But are no longer being updated.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Some members now say they quote fear its guidelines will
- 14:42Speaker 3: be frozen in time, unable to evolve with new scientific
- 14:46Speaker 3: research or the spread of drug resistance organisms, which are
- 14:50Speaker 3: a particular threat to hospitals, saying at some point when
- 14:54Speaker 3: things need to change, the guidelines likely won't change at all,
- 14:57Speaker 3: and then people will be sort of flying by the
- 15:00Speaker 3: seat of their pants. That is what one of the
- 15:02Speaker 3: board members said about what just happened. But in reality,
- 15:06Speaker 3: the President and many others said, well, you guys messed
- 15:09Speaker 3: up the last time so big no one would trust
- 15:13Speaker 3: you anyway, So it's time for us to get rid
- 15:16Speaker 3: of some of the waste, fraud, and abuse yet again
- 15:18Speaker 3: in our government, even at the CDC.
