- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't football, we had silence.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't talk about hiring the man first, the coach second.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think he is an unbelievable person.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: Every single person is locker right now.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's my professional football.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_05]: Aaron, get COVID, and the week that I, you started, remember?
- 0:17[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, okay, let's do it.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_01]: We came back to Green Bay.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: I made a lot of long-lasting relationships there.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I got nothing below for the city.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_05]: What's up, guys?
- 0:32[SPEAKER_05]: This is Jeff Anis.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_04]: You're listening to Four Man's Packers Podcasts.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_03]: Hello and welcome to another surprise pack.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_03]: It's podcast from On Package Podcasts.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_03]: In the state of Reminds, I am Spencer joining this week with Billion Todd Boys.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_03]: Hello, hello.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_03]: Greetings, gentlemen.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_03]: And training camp continues.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_03]: No real football, but some football.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_03]: The packers losing thirty to ten to the New York Jets at Lambo Field.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_03]: It was
- 1:03[SPEAKER_03]: A game.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_03]: It's a slog.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_03]: A slog.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_03]: It's a good way to put it.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_03]: Starting offense only having the one possession.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_03]: I think the starting defense only had one or two possessions, but a ugly game.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_03]: If you actually feel bad about the team after that, and I mean, it wasn't fun watching.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_03]: I completely forgot about preseason last year when we lost two to twenty seven, two to thirty something to the Broncos.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_03]: and I can't believe that was only a year ago and we already like most fans I feel like that's completely out of our brains and we're just like oh man this year sucks it's like well actually I don't think the scores of the preseason games really matter all that much I mean look back it feels like the packers just always have some
- 1:54[SPEAKER_04]: no show in the pre-season where it's the worst time we'll show in everybody panics and you're right we forget about it come regular season but the drops were a little the penalties
- 2:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, those refs were being pretty like Jacob Monk's.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_05]: Some of it was the refs.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we'll get into, you know, guys who played this episode.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to talk about, you know, the fucking injuries.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, Jordan loves thumb on his non-throwing hand.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_03]: The season is over.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to do stock up stock down players who stocks are rising and falling.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_03]: We'll talk a little bit of, you know, the zombie he's back.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure if we went out we'd never ever talk about a boat.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to talk about Mark Murphy a little bit because hey, he found a new job in Green Bay.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_03]: Very interesting.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_03]: There's definitely no fishy funny business going on with that.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_03]: And then probably talk about the NFC North a little bit in some other training camp garbage.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_03]: Still, I guess we can wrap up this game.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_03]: And again, it was one possession on offense.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_03]: I wonder if they were going to play a little bit more of, uh, I will said Rogers if Jordan loved didn't hurt his thumb.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_03]: No, I think it was a little too.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_03]: I was reenout.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_04]: The couple of stones.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_04]: Is that when he heard his thumb?
- 3:15[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't realize it was in the game.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_04]: I thought it was in practice.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_03]: It was that last play when he was kind of scrambling and then it looked like he was going to run and then he stopped himself.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was and then he practiced the next time the hat it and then he had a wrap around his left thumb Talked to like Goody and LaFlor and the trainers after practice and then he got surgery the next day which that's
- 3:41[SPEAKER_03]: I forgot who said this, but apparently it's the same surgery that Drew Breeze had back in the day on his throwing hand, which he was out five weeks for.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_03]: Again, this is Jordan Loves, non-throwing hand.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_03]: So if anything, we might just start the year off a little bit more in shock, and it won't be taken snaps under his center.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_03]: But either way, not great.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_03]: I guess before we get into this, I don't know, I don't know.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_03]: How do I hold it?
- 4:08[SPEAKER_03]: So I just want to hold a podcast.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_03]: We'll just rip through the other injuries right now.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, Christian Watson's still out with the knee injury.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_03]: Goody made it sound like he will be on PUP, which I think everyone is kind of assumed so far this off season.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_03]: Jaden Reed was seen in a boot before the game.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_03]: That is his foot.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_03]: Or his toe I believe is his yeah, I think it's a toe injury.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_03]: Danteving Witz has been out for a week or two with a calf, which is all the rage nowadays because if you pay attention to basketball and the NBA, these players get
- 4:42[SPEAKER_03]: calf injuries and they sit out and sometimes when they come back a little too early they blow their Achilles which has also been hot in the streets the last few years so I'm sure they're being pretty cautious with that.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_03]: Nate Hobbes is still out with his knee scope.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember if this
- 4:57[SPEAKER_03]: If we talked about this, this might have happened like the day after we recorded last, but he did have a little knee scope, uh, deal going on.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_03]: I guess it's similar to what JJ McCarthy's injury was last year that kept him out all year.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_03]: Like there's two different ways to repair it.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_03]: You can either fall on repair the, um, MCL, whatever the fuck it is that.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_03]: Manuscus or you can like trim it.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_03]: And I believe they trimmed it.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_03]: So hopefully, I'm not only know how that works, but hopefully that holds up.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_03]: But again, it's, it's a little tough to go into week one against the Lions and your number one number two corner is going to be a little hobbled by any.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_05]: What are the odds that he was born with extremist gifts so we can just trim some off and he'll be fine.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I mean, like when I put something back together like a mechanical thing and I have extra parts.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_05]: That's normal.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_05]: But when you go into someone's body, you're like, you don't need this.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_05]: They just pull some out.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, well, let's just put it on a jar on the shelf and the training room for later in case somebody else needs it.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_03]: We could pickle it.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_03]: There you go.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_03]: I do, I always feel like this is a little bit of karma after Jaya, after during the first week of practice, where he had to get his knee drained and a bunch of pepper fans were like, see, this is why we move on for him.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_03]: He practiced the next day and then Nate Hobbes, who has also had injury concerns sitting out right now.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_04]: Does it seem like the floors go to answer on all of these injuries?
- 6:30[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, other than Watson is, yeah, we hope they'll be ready for week one, which, of course you do, but I mean, if Nate Hobbs got part of his meniscus cut off and taken out of his knee, I don't see any way that the dude is ready for week one.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_05]: It was extra.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was all, it was all just extra stuff against.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_03]: So he'll get to go.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_04]: That just feels very invasive for a, or a week injury.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's what's always funny is like, cause you, you know, you see yourself and it's like, oh, I, if a normal human gets an injury, like you're out of work for a couple of weeks and these guys that's like, nah, like Jordan love it's like, oh, he'll be back practicing next week is what Goody was saying when he has surgery on his hand.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_03]: Um, Xavier McKinney, he's got a calf injury to.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_03]: He said he should be good to go week one.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_03]: Zane Anderson had a knee.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I think I was during the game.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_03]: He was slow getting up, but it sounds like that's not long-term.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_03]: The other guys to kind of talk about, well, Romeo Dobbs went down today or yesterday and, um, Luke Musgrave two.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_03]: It sounds like those aren't long-term.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_03]: And then the two rookies are like Isaiah done.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_03]: He's hurt.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_03]: He's a knee, but nobody knows who the hell that is anyways.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_03]: on drafted corner.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_03]: But Colin Oliver and John Williams, two draft picks, Colin Oliver, who we've talked about that fifth round pick, the outside linebacker defense of Andrew, whatever the pass rush specialist.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_03]: He has been out.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_03]: He was healthy for OTAs and hasn't practiced sense.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_03]: And it sounds like he hasn't really moved up in the rehab group either, which isn't very good.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_03]: Same deal with John Williams, the seventh round offensive tackle with his back injury.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_03]: He hasn't practiced all of training camp, both of those guys are on the PUP.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_03]: So, you know, rookies, not a huge deal, but now it's getting to the point where if they aren't practicing here in the next week or two, one, you have to wonder how quick it's going to take them to get up to speed, not so much as John Williams, but Colin Oliver, who I think had a chance to contribute this year.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_03]: or if it's something where if it keeps bleeding into it like they're gonna have to put them on the PUP to start the year and then after that if they're still not good or you don't feel good about putting them on the fifty three putting them on the IR just losing them for the full rookie season would be less than ideal
- 8:45[SPEAKER_03]: But those are all the injuries.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know about you guys.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not overly worried.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_03]: I would not I feel like right now.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_03]: It's not doom and gloom, but people are I don't know.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously not thrilled with the amount of injuries we have right now, but I feel like going into that lion's game.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_03]: There's going to be like a report that first practice that pretty much everyone on the fifty three no one who's actually important won't be practicing going into that game.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_05]: I feel like right now it doesn't matter we're so early in the preseason it makes a lot of sense just like if you have anything you go on the injury report you sit like we're at that stage in the year I don't know just remind me does the floor he doesn't play starters
- 9:30[SPEAKER_05]: the week before the season, right?
- 9:32[SPEAKER_03]: It's varied hasn't.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_03]: It's varied.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, you're talking the last preseason game because it's like, I'm sorry.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_03]: Um, what he said is obviously they played in the first game.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't sound like starters are going to play in in B. They're going to have joint practices on Thursday and Friday.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_03]: I think so they're going to try to get all the reps in there.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_03]: And then I believe he said the last preseason game he's anticipating starters playing in that one.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't a little goofy kind of flip flopping.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_05]: I was just thinking like if it really doesn't matter at this point anyway if all these injuries could be absolute nothing I mean obviously maybe the Hobbes one is like the worst one I don't know that feels like the worst one of guys who are gonna contribute right away so I don't know we'll see what happens but all these other ones don't seem like the non-throwing arm or non-throwing hand of Jordan love like that doesn't really seem that bad I don't know
- 10:30[SPEAKER_04]: But how many times have we seen somebody get hurt and we think it's minor?
- 10:34[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, Jordan Love was dealing with an injury all of last year after, you know, he got hurt on the last second, the last play, whatever it was in the opener in Brazil.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it's only, it's only two weeks.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_04]: So we back, he comes back and he just never really looked quite right all year.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_04]: Like, didn't quite play to the standard we had.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_04]: Kenny Clark heard his toe or foot or whatever in the opener.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't ever remember talking about it, but I mean, based on everything people have said after the fact, and then what I saw in the preseason game from Kenny, it's like, yeah, maybe that toe was affecting his play.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_04]: So obviously, I don't feel great about having these injuries, but
- 11:20[SPEAKER_04]: I struggle to believe that all of them are as minor as LaFlor is letting on and my fear is that they're just going to linger and you know you start playing games that matter and sure it's one of those deals where if it was a game tomorrow he'd be playing sure but how effective is he?
- 11:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we'll see again.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not I'm not too worried.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_03]: I you did you to get me thinking there though, Billy because I I would disagree with the Jordan love thing just because you know when it happened we were like oh shit he might be gone for the season and it was still like initially he could he should be out like four weeks and he was out two weeks and then he kept you know he re aggravated it hurt as growing whatever
- 12:03[SPEAKER_03]: But I like what you said about Kenny Clark because it is like if it's your toes or fingers or thumb, then it gets overlooked a little bit more because you have Kenny Clark and I guess that was something that was a little bit more under the radar.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_03]: But we didn't know much about it last year.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_03]: We just thought Kenny was playing well.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see how I place this year.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_03]: But then even Rogers, with his last year in twenty-twenty-two of the packers, his thumb injury, which happened at the last, with the last nap against the Giants in London, and that hampered him the rest of there.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he broke his fucking thumb and nobody really talked about it.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_03]: And that was another thing that lingered all year, so maybe that's what we have to focus on more.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_03]: So it was the little bones in the body.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_04]: You're comment though about love with his thumb and whether or not we need to go out of the shotgun, I think is appropriate.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_04]: But the other thing I think we're overlooking is him handing off the ball because when he hands off to his right, he uses his left hand and I saw the report from practice on was it Monday this week that with his thumb wrapped up on his left hand, he was using his right hand like holding his hand kind of thumb down to hand off the ball.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_04]: So it makes me wonder if that's going to have some effect on the play calling or maybe we do line up in the shotgun and he hands off with both hands more frequently because I just I don't know that I trust him.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_04]: handing off in a rock word position like that.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't run in backs that aren't used to taking it that way.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he'd actually do that in regular I feel like that was just getting through that practice like he started to see if you could actually you know go through practice with that thumb and thinking maybe he could just work through it and then they're like now let's just let's get this cleaned up all weekend and move on to the regular season.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_05]: Feels like if it's that bad, you're just, it's just a little toss.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_05]: Just a little toss so they're running back.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, instead of everything that's hand off, everything turns into a toss.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_03]: With that moving on, stock up, stock down pretty clear, clear here, stock up players during training camp or positions who are rising or, you know, we feel positive about and then stock down will be the bad ones, the ones who are shitty.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and of course, you know, being a packer fan, I ended up having more stock up even after that shitty game.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_03]: One guy who I'll lead off with, I don't have these notes in any particular order.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_03]: John Fitzpatrick, he's a guy who we've kind of talked about a little bit.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_03]: If you remember last year, he kind of used to bent Sims as the third or second tight end when Musgrave came back.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_03]: Um, he is a, if you don't, if you don't remember, came from Georgia, six, seven.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_03]: So another just huge dude, um, one of four players that tall on the team to I looked it up.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_03]: It's him and two other tackles and somebody else who's six, seven.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_03]: He's an inch taller than Luke Musgrave, I believe.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_03]: But he started catching the ball, which is something that he didn't do much at Georgia behind Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_03]: He only got seventeen balls in four years in college.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_03]: He has two in the NFL and eighteen games.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_03]: He's played with us and he was drafted by the Falcons in the sixth or seventh round.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_03]: I believe, but he only played seventeen snaps for the Falcons of then went to
- 15:21[SPEAKER_03]: I are than they cut him last year, but just very interesting his name's been popping up more and more.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember if he had a catch in this game, but he did okay.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_03]: So it's just been a little bit more and now during training camp, you know, a guy who didn't have a name who we didn't hear about much at all before this or at the beginning of camp.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_03]: It's popping up a little bit more.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_03]: It's to the point now where he almost seems like a roster lock, because initially he was brought on to this team to be the blocking tight end, kind of that sixth offensive lineman.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_03]: And now the fact that they're actually using him to run out and catch passes.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, I just feel like we'll be seeing a little bit more of him after not thinking much of him at all.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, he and Ben Sims both had one reception for seventeen yards each.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_05]: Ooh, amazing.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_05]: There you go.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_05]: And also Johnny Lumpkin, another tight end had a catch and Luke Musgrave.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_05]: So is the packer's offense?
- 16:18[SPEAKER_05]: Titan centric.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, LeFloor in the offseason said that he wanted to go with two with more two Titan looks.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_04]: So it would make sense that I've been promised double type before.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_04]: Let's fair.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_04]: We'll be once.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I also saw Musgrave get a target deep down the field in the game that I thought he had a chance at if he had kept running, but maybe I'm wrong.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_04]: But
- 16:44[SPEAKER_04]: That's what we drafted Musgrave to be was that seamstructure.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_04]: And to see it actually come to fruition a little bit with the target and have a chance at it in a preseason game, I get it's only one play, but if he's healthy, then there is an opportunity to play more of those two tight-ends sets.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_04]: So in my dumb brain, it would make sense.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_04]: If you're playing a lot of two tight-ends sets, you want to have more than one backup tight-end on the bench.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_05]: I will, you're saying, you're saying stock up.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_04]: I'm saying stock up.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it, I, as much as it means me to say that, I agree with Spencer.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_04]: I think we're going to keep four tight ends.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I think it's only going to be three.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I guess, well, we'll talk about it later with someone who's chopping block ben Sims.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think Ben Sims is going, is going to be cut.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I do.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_04]: I wouldn't see them as a special teamer.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but Fitzpatrick is as well.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_03]: And it's like you can, there's enough fucking special team players out there.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see either way.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's, this will probably age poorly, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot of instances this year.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_03]: We see how often Matt will floor changes the offense weekend and we get out.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_03]: But I wouldn't be surprised if there's weeks where Fitzpatrick out snaps Luke Musgrave just because of his blocking ability and Musgrave not having much of one of those.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_03]: Um, next group that we're going to talk about probably could have just led with this, but I just have the edge room listed.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_03]: Baron Surrell, the rookie.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_03]: He had a couple nice looks.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_03]: He almost didn't forget about him.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_03]: I kept thinking of him as more of a heavy guy, but seeing him were in that ninety nine out of edge.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_03]: He just looks like a defensive end for this defense.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_03]: Like I'm sure you guys saw a couple of those snaps.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_03]: He had, I think, two QB hits.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_03]: I know he had multiple pressures.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_03]: But very cool very cool Brent and Cox.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_03]: He had a couple nice plays as well.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_03]: JJ and I Barry finally showed up, but obviously the one who the guy who's and will top five for names for training camp.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_03]: LVN.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_03]: It hasn't so much been reshungary who's always the training camp all star, but just about every single practice now.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_03]: LVN has some type of sack or some big play where he beats one of the tackles, which is great.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_03]: I talked about it last week, how I feel like there are guys who are just kind of variables on this team.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_03]: And LVN is kind of the biggest one where after last year we didn't have very high expectations at all with them, even with being the fourteenth overall pick, but he was just kind of
- 19:25[SPEAKER_03]: Doug Dean Lowry, just a guy out there.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_03]: If he turns into, you know, a good player, and above average player, find some type of pass rush.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_03]: There was one clip going online where he like does a hezi hay on Rashid Walker where he pretends like he's going to spin and he just runs around him and has the pressure on the quarterback.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_03]: If we get to a point where we have Rashad Garry who's a solid player, I think we'd all agree with that.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_03]: And then LVN is also a solid player.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_03]: And then we have the guys like the rookie Baron Surrell who, you know, potential there, but Brent and Cox who's just a past Russia for the most part, JJ who's been a pretty solid guy there too.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_03]: And then Adrian Cooper as well, who all over.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_03]: Call for you out.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, calling all over.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_03]: We don't know anything about him.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_03]: But wow, these, these, you know, these great teams that we see and obviously in twenty ten were the ones Super Bowl.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_03]: It's like you always have a rotation of good pass rushers.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_03]: And if you just have that one starter who elevates his game a bit and everyone else rises a little bit too.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_03]: I'm getting a little bit excited.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like I said the same thing last year as well, but I don't know.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_03]: I feel it's nice to have something.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_03]: If Elby and I was going through this training camp and we weren't hearing about it, it would be really bad right now, especially when this with this being year three.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm I'm glad I'm looking forward and let's see if he lets us down like we're Sean Gary usually does once the season starts.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_04]: What would it take from LVN this year for you to look back at the end of the year and say he had a really good year?
- 21:04[SPEAKER_04]: He took a step forward.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_04]: He surprised a lot of people.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I'd be fine with eight sacks, but I wouldn't be surprised if he came out with like ten.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we still got to remember Kyle Factorl had a year where he lived this team in in sacks.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_03]: You know, the other thing that I had written down, so I went through it, because with Baron Sorrell and if you can do anything this year as a rookie.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_03]: So the last time, looking at high-sax as rookies, LVN and Karl Brooks, their rookie year, a couple years ago, they both had four sacks.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_03]: That was the highest since twenty twelve.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_03]: Guess which rookie you won't be able to but guess which rookie in twenty twelve had four sack so it was you know over ten years since the rookie had four sacks.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_04]: Mike Neill.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_03]: Desmond Moses.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_03]: Remember Desmond Moses?
- 22:08[SPEAKER_04]: He was undrafted, wasn't he?
- 22:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_03]: He was like a nobody.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_03]: He just stuck on the team a couple years.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_03]: Clay a couple his rookie or he had ten or twelve.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_03]: But other than that, it's literally only been three guys getting four sacks since Clay Matthews in two thousand nine when he was a rookie.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_03]: So I
- 22:28[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, is it bold to say, Baron Cerrell is going to crush that, uh, that fore sack record that we've had over the last fifteen years.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_03]: Follow in the footsteps of Desmond Moses.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_03]: Like it.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_03]: Follow Moses.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I just remembered Desmond Moses because it seemed like he was the next and the long line of random outside linebackers that flasher in camp and made the team Vixa Oto and
- 22:55[SPEAKER_04]: There was Moses, and then there was one other guy, Andy Malumba.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yep, Andy Malumba.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_03]: That was one of Roger's favorite guys on the team.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_03]: I think of J-Rone Elliot too, but was he was he and he was he was kind of out he was outside lineback or we played three four then.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_03]: He was bigger, right?
- 23:14[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_03]: Frank Zombo.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_03]: He was a draft pick wasn't he?
- 23:19[SPEAKER_03]: He might have been under aftertales and that was all that those also that you have the hurdle didn't for example have the hurdles over the run back this and we talked about that we always talk about this is probably the third time.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_03]: It's came up that was brand-in-chiller.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_03]: Okay
- 23:34[SPEAKER_03]: who jumped over the fullbacker someone and then chased down Matt forte I think it was something like that.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_03]: Is that what it was?
- 23:42[SPEAKER_03]: Then I was also gonna mention Eric Walden who he picked up on waivers, but he was a staple of those early, twenty, twenty-teen Green Bay Packers.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_03]: As we have taught as we've said a million times on here, two, he's still spinning, looking around for us.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_05]: I was literally thinking, looking for Colin Kaepernick, having no idea.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_05]: I just, I ingrained my brain.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_03]: um someone else to talk about who's played pretty well you know adjacent to that Colby wooden uh he's a guy who I kind of wrote off I've never thought much of him he I don't I think it was a healthy scratch in Brazil last year to start the season but he's put on weight
- 24:20[SPEAKER_03]: He looks better.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_03]: I believe he had a couple of tackle for losses in this game, or at least one of them.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_03]: They had that cool little thing where he graduated.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_03]: He went back to school and graduated.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_03]: And apparently the packers held their own graduation ceremony for him.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_03]: And I think they even had like the president of whatever college he's from.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_03]: Auburn come down.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_03]: Is it Auburn?
- 24:43[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's a dark jersey.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_03]: Come down and like be there for it.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_03]: So I thought that was pretty good.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_04]: They had his mom there for it.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I guess that's more expected, but yes, his mom, his mom was there as well.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_03]: But I don't know, it's again, it's training camp talk.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_03]: There's a couple guys out there too on the defensive line.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, what we can talk about stack houses well and the sixth round pick Brinson, those guys have showed up.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the highlight for the defense was that fourth downstop.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_03]: with stackouts lead in the way that was at least we had a couple positives that we can look out look at it that jet's game.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_05]: I thought overall though man that the run defense was like so passive and wondering if that's just like no pressure like.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_05]: There's so much pressure that, or simulated pressure as well, that we like to do in this defense.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_05]: So like, I just, I don't know.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_05]: Like, part of me is like, is Kenny washed?
- 25:43[SPEAKER_05]: Like, I have a little bit like worried about Kenny.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, Kenny, how, how long was he out there for?
- 25:51[SPEAKER_05]: I just, like, I just have worried that all last year.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_05]: I always hurt.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_05]: But like, I don't know.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_04]: I saw after the game beat writers and people that actually generally know what they're talking about more so than us all say.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_04]: It's not that kind of explosive during the game.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Todd.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_04]: Just for what it's worth it.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_04]: But again, in the whole six plays that he had in that first driver, whatever.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_05]: I just it's people are wondering is he he's only twenty nine That is wild.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_05]: There's a lot of miles on those tires.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_03]: It's he actually twenty nine Yes, they they talked about it in the preseason game because I always I've joked that oh my god he's turning twenty two like for five years So I hear that he's actually not in his thirties.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, he was actually seventeen when he got drafted
- 26:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know how they did that legally Moving on the another positive which Okay, it's like one of those things with a Twitter and general or social media where it's like oh be highs and lows, but the new tackles new-ish tackles I should say Jordan Morgan and Anthony Belton both played pretty well.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_03]: Belton had
- 27:05[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he had like the Pancake of the One-Dude right up the middle on that long run.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_03]: That was pretty cool.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_03]: He played Forty-Fourth Snaps and the game didn't give up a single pressure.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_03]: He also had the second highest run blocking grade for the team on the day.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, nice to see him first time seeing him out on the field.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_03]: And like he was kind of advertiser as just a massive dude out there who can run guys over.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_03]: And then Jordan Morgan, I mean he didn't give up a sack or pressure in his twenty three pass blocking snaps.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_03]: He's look pretty good and he's been using this time with Rashid Walker also being out.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_03]: He's he's back to doing individuals.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he practiced with the team today, but he is back.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_03]: practicing again.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_03]: But Jordan Morgan, a guy who I think most of us saw the clip of him at family night where LVN just made him look terrible.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_03]: It looked like Jordan Morgan wasn't even trying on that rap and people were like, oh man, maybe we have to move him back to guard.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe he doesn't have it.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_03]: I've always said, oh, he has it.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_03]: And then now this preseason game people are like, oh, we should trade Rashid Walker because he looks so good.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_03]: So it's like in the span of a week with what thirty snaps fans have completely changed their opinion on this guy.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_03]: So either way, it's nice that the investments the last two years have a tackle position have the arrow is pointing up a little bit when we didn't have much of that since Morgan was drafted.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_05]: Are we thinking then maybe that LVN is him?
- 28:41[SPEAKER_04]: right like he's making all pros in uh... he's making Rashid Walker training camp all pro and training camp all pros look silly yeah yeah it's a very good point i'm just going to say lvn could have three sacks in the opener and i still wouldn't think he's turned the corner okay well that's done it's really done it's a dumb thing i just really need to see a lot also i've been eight a long and well known lvn haters so
- 29:10[SPEAKER_04]: I have a lot of baggage there with that pick.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_04]: I'll just say that.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_05]: I like to LVN.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_05]: I would like to see just like, like I said, I think last week.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, can't any moves?
- 29:19[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, any moves.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_03]: You saw it.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_03]: You saw it on Twitter was the fake move.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_03]: No, the fake, the fake shimmy.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_03]: Not, he's pulled out a spin move too apparently during practice.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_03]: I'm glad he did he fool anybody with that spin move.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, yes once for me once oh shit.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_05]: He's been all right.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I'm glad I'm glad I'm going talking about the tackles.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_03]: Let us back to talking about a lion for for the tackles.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_04]: I just it just gives me more confidence in the depth coming off the bench if Zack Tom has to miss the second half of the game do do an injury or whatever like
- 29:55[SPEAKER_04]: I wouldn't feel terrible about Belton coming in.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I just think about that playoff game in Philly where was it Andre Dillard came in and was just a mass and then we took him out and put in tellford tellford and he was somehow even worse.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I think the big thing here is how was this going to work itself out because Rashid Walker is going to, you know, he's going to be taking these team reps again.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_03]: And if Jordan Morgan keeps playing very well, are they going to want to go with the young guy?
- 30:28[SPEAKER_03]: They drafted in the first round.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_03]: They want to see him improve throughout the season, or they're going to go with Rashid Walker who's been steady and, you know,
- 30:37[SPEAKER_03]: Potentially moving out that development for Morgan and then it's like again, what do you do with Rashid Walker if you just mention all year like, what is that gonna do?
- 30:46[SPEAKER_03]: Watch him make him split reps.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_03]: Jordan, that's gonna be Rashid Walker.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_03]: I forgot about that.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so if I had to bet right now, they will split reps because Matt LaFlor is the greatest high school coach of all time and he can make anyone overly sad about anything.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, and sticking with offensive line two,
- 31:06[SPEAKER_03]: That first drive, I loved seeing Zack Tom get that personal foul penalty, where he was like, late push in the guys, and then all those fat fuckers came to help them and like push the jets guys around.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, that's the shit that we usually don't see with this team and what we don't see with Zack Tom.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_03]: I think he, I think he maybe last year, it happens about once a year where he gets pissed off at people, but you
- 31:30[SPEAKER_03]: sees interviews or you hear him talk he's the most boring human on this planet so to see him show emotion like that and everyone else get involved especially like I think Aaron Banks got in there and he knew Elton was like looking for it because he always wants to get scrappy so that was like my favorite part for the offensive line during that on the I mean that was the first drive wasn't it I believe that the second was only three snaps I was gonna say like for that to happen on the second play of the game
- 31:57[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe it wasn't, but even still, even if he played six naps, it's like you got worked into that much of a lather in six naps to go to go hunt after the play.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_05]: Was it at Elton that got into it with Aaron Donalds a couple times?
- 32:15[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, okay.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_03]: Once for sure, yeah, cause people still say like Aaron Donald owns or sorry, Elton Jenkins owns Aaron Donald.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_03]: That's like okay.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he retired me retired because but so it just makes sense.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_03]: Next stock up that I have is the healthy running backs.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_03]: I guess I wrote this before Martian Lloyd came back, but I threw him in here as well.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: We'll get to it.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_03]: But Mar Johnson, he had the three nine year touchdown Kevin Harland.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't believe this.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_03]: I had to look it up.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_03]: Kevin Harlin on the call said it was the longest touchdown run in over a season and he was right the longest touchdown run last year was thirty eight yards from Josh Jacobs I looked it up that thirty eight yard run he had last year was the longest touchdown run since twenty twenty one
- 33:07[SPEAKER_03]: Wilson had a thirty one yarder and twenty twenty three and then Aaron Jones had a twenty yarder and twenty twenty two and twenty twenty one I think Aaron Jones had like a seventy yard touchdown run but since then like over the last four years that thirty eight yard touchdown run was the longest one we've had which is just surprising especially with Aaron Jones most of the time I guess a lot of his place of came on those like little swing out passes and ship it I guess a lot of me just he had a lot of things but he's not scoring
- 33:36[SPEAKER_05]: Right you're saying long as runs you're saying scoring runs.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, always gets caught right always got caught in the open field Right, but either way it was it was very surprising to hear that it that like three nine yards was the longest one because I feel like Jacob's had I feel like he busted a bunch of them last year But I guess yeah the one of them thinking of two.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_05]: He got tackle that the one exactly.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, there's a couple of like seven tackles
- 33:59[SPEAKER_03]: And he had a couple of those passes to where he just run an outside and trucking people over those for some of his hunger plays.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_03]: Israel in Bata Cata will go with.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_03]: He was the kicker trainer in this game, which was surprising to Tom Silverstein.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_03]: Tom Silverstein talked him up a little bit to saying that he's competing.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_03]: It seems like these two guys are kind of competing for a spot on this roster potentially, or at least on the practice squad.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it's a little closer than we think right now with all those other guys.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_03]: But he was saying how he's not exactly like your typical undrafted.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we're not too familiar with this guy.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_03]: We signed him a week or two ago.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_03]: But he's this is like his second or third or fourth year in the league like he's a bit of a veteran and he was with the Niners before this.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_03]: He's the guy that a lot of guys at training camp have been talking up before.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_03]: Omar Johnson had that nice run.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_03]: against the jet so I'm curious to see if we see more out of him in these next couple games and maybe he's the one who really pushes to I don't potentially be a fourth running back on this team and it's funny too because the Niners have had so many injuries where they probably would have kept him
- 35:10[SPEAKER_03]: had they known that uh... because grendo went down a couple of their other running backs went down christian caffrey somehow is like the healthy back with that team so i don't know just another guy who is shown out a bit and then uh... well i don't know do you guys have anything to say about the new running backs there i like is real
- 35:29[SPEAKER_05]: a bonaconda.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_03]: I just like with everything gone in the world right now that that statement was just I like Israel.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_05]: It wasn't political.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_05]: I was running back.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_05]: But I do.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_05]: I think I said this to you during the game.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_05]: I have just like us.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_05]: He's like a bit of a slasher.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_05]: I just like like he doesn't have to be good for me to like him.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_05]: I just like slasher.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_05]: There's fun to watch.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_03]: It's my dumb brain, but his first carry.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, oh, that looks a little Aaron Jones.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_03]: He has that body type kind of like him.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_03]: He only had a handful of carries, but that was my first thought.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_04]: I believe I specifically called out, Omar Johnson is having a chance to make the practice squad during the post draft, undrafted free agent podcast, look it up.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm still on that hype train.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's interesting though that if you had asked me at the beginning of camp, realistically, I thought that between Chris Brooks and Emmanuel Wilson, whoever didn't make the fifty-three, we just bring back to the
- 36:36[SPEAKER_04]: to the practice squad and now it seems like it's tracking maybe towards Johnson or and or a bonicanda to make the practice squad and we just cut bait with Wilson or Brooks.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_05]: Does it feel like Brooks is safe?
- 36:49[SPEAKER_05]: He's the only guy on this roster that's a proven blocker like he's the third down guy.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_04]: It sure seems that way especially with Wilson heard
- 36:57[SPEAKER_05]: And in that second series, I believe it was all Brooks with the starters.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I believe so.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, they're being safe.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_03]: He feels safe.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's an Andy Herman said that he is making the team.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_03]: I don't trust Andy Herman, but
- 37:12[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_03]: I just thought that was interesting because he's at training camp, but it seems like he's always running with it.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_03]: He's one of those guys, Chris Brooks.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_03]: I see him almost like Mercedes Lewis, where he's a guy that the coaching staff loves.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_03]: And if it were up to them, he would be on the team, but that doesn't mean Goody's gonna pick him.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_03]: The other thing I want to throw out there too, and I guess, sorry, with Chris Brooks, when we were talking about the tight ends, giving three or four, Chris Brooks, I think Ryan Wood said this.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_03]: that we should almost view him as a full back because he's not a great runner.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_03]: He's just out there when we have like the two back personnel for the most part, or kind of like John Cune back in the day where he's just a really good pass protector.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_03]: That's his main thing and then he isn't bad at anything, but he's really, really good at pass protection and then he's okay at running the ball and catching the ball.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_03]: So that's kind of been maybe he fills in that fourth tight end spot by kind of being that H back full back type.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_05]: He also seems like he must be fairly smart and have a good grasp on the playbook because he was the two-minute guy last year, too.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_05]: Yep.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_05]: Which was weird because Wilson had been that guy.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, there must be something.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, obviously, the passing in the two minutes is very important, so I don't know, but he also, he's done a bad runner.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_05]: He's not great.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_05]: Like he doesn't, he doesn't see it.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_04]: He's just slow.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_05]: It just feels like from that.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_05]: He's not bad.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's trusted with the ball though.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_04]: Like he seems to have good ball security.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't think he's ever fumbled in other like five carries or whatever he's had and the other thing I throw out there it's there guys and with the next two that will talk about here is when you follow the team like me and I'm a genius I know exactly who to follow I listen everything so my opinion is very valued Wow, but when you listen to a bunch of different guys beat reporters
- 39:02[SPEAKER_03]: Like Andy Herman, he says a lot of positive things.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_03]: He's a blogger, boy, I've said a million times like how he's like, oh, Katelyn Hills looking so good.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_03]: Matt LaFlor has to make a package on this offense for him.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_03]: And then he was cut, you know, a year later.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_03]: Mike Spofford tweeted, who works for Packers.com tweeted, Lloyd is just a different backman.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_03]: And that dude Spofford has like zero personality.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_03]: He is boring as hell.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't, I couldn't tell you what take he's had before this.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_03]: So to see him say that is something.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_03]: Wes Hodgwood spoke very highly of him as well and because Lloyd was finally practicing again this week and he just has a different gear and especially like these guys have seen Aaron Jones who's a really really good running back and like Wes was saying he's just a different player out there.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_03]: He says I, Wes said I haven't looked forward to watching someone in preseason more than I have from Martian Lloyd this year.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_03]: So again, he's a guy who is super fast, bumpling issues, injury issues, obviously, but if he can be healthy, I mean, again, we just talked up fucking what?
- 40:08[SPEAKER_03]: Six running backs here and we're probably gonna keep three.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see what happens, but either way, pretty, I don't know.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_03]: There's things to look at here that is fun and like I was talking to you Billy earlier this week.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_03]: entertaining preseason comes down to having talented running backs because usually you're just fucking running the ball more than you're passing it seems like and when you have plotters like fucking Dexter Williams Craig Lumpkin or whoever else it's like oh that's oh two yard just Sean win just that's it yeah it's a real real back but with these guys I think you know preseason games are a little bit more fun
- 40:48[SPEAKER_04]: I think it is telling that Spofford and Hodquids both have talked up, Lloyd a little bit, because I, and this is just my opinion, I'll go to Packers.com just to read what Spofford and Hodquids have to say, because I feel like it's factual.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_04]: They'll tell me who did well, and they'll tell me who played poorly.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_04]: versus, you know, like you were saying the beat writers, some of the blogger boys, whatever, seems like they're trying to get clicks and what what sells positivity and getting people excited about the upcoming season.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_04]: So of course, you know, so and so it was looking great.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_05]: They do see everything through those rose color glasses.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_05]: That's like that.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_05]: I remember like, I don't know, five, ten years ago, just like being excited about training camp, like really starting to pay attention to it.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_05]: And like, it's August, and I'm like, we're gonna win the Super Bowl.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_05]: And then it's like, you get, and then you get to the end of the training, they're like, half the guys are cut.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_04]: Or are you think that hell's going on?
- 41:48[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god, we cut this guy.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_04]: He's never gonna make it to the practice squad and blah blah blah.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_04]: And then he makes it to the practice squad and we cut him three weeks later and nobody signs him.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's like that that wide receiver we signed from the Niners.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_03]: Is it Nailor or something I believe?
- 42:03[SPEAKER_03]: He was, oh, he was gonna... Yeah, he was gonna talk up at their training camp.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_03]: Like he's a god like Kittle was saying how he's just a different animal.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_03]: It's all the Pete reporters are like, oh my god, he's great.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_03]: And then they caught him.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_03]: He didn't even make it to final cuts, which was interesting.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_03]: So, and I don't know, you're talking about who to trust.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_03]: It's like,
- 42:24[SPEAKER_03]: number one for me it's always the beat reporters it's like if you're more of an asshole I almost believe you a little bit more because if you're saying something good about someone I'm like this guy never is positive about anything and then after that it's like Rodney and then it's like yep
- 42:40[SPEAKER_03]: Wes and Spoffard, they work for the team.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think they're ever going to be overly critical, so they're kind of in a weird spot.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_03]: And then the blogger boys, that's the most more like entertainment besides Justice Mascada, who I think is very, very good, or his, his great opinions and he's very good at speaking out his thoughts.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_03]: And then you have like, I don't know, like fucking Ross ugly on my sourd on him recently, because he can never be wrong about anything.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_03]: Andy Herman, he's fine, but it's like the extra words he throws in an incredible sack from LVN, and like I'm sure if you saw the play, it's like it's a fucking practice, you know?
- 43:18[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know, whatever, that I talked too much about that.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_03]: Next one of your thoughts on Rodney.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_03]: Rodney Packers Notes.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_03]: I don't follow him.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_03]: He's, uh, what?
- 43:32[SPEAKER_03]: I used to like, favorite follow.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_03]: He used, I, maybe I should.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_03]: I used to follow him.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_03]: He's just, he's a little too dark.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_03]: It got to the point where it's like, do you like anyone on this team?
- 43:44[SPEAKER_03]: Cause he's like nine to one for like negative to positive.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_03]: It feels like
- 43:49[SPEAKER_05]: I feel like he's better now, or maybe I'm just used to how negative he is, but anytime I see him be positive, I'm like, oh, I gotta start paying attention to this guy.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_05]: Cause you're like he is so negative, just like his zero, like his neutral line is like a bloggers like in the dumps.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_05]: Like, you know what I mean?
- 44:11[SPEAKER_05]: Like, so when you see him get a little bit excited and
- 44:14[SPEAKER_05]: He doesn't have horrible takes.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_05]: His delivery sucks on Twitter, but he takes aren't that bad.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_03]: He would make the same jokes over and over again.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that's what pissed me off.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_03]: One of the things I think that I sat around him on too was after we knew Ted had mental things going on, which eventually took his life.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_03]: He was still making fun of Ted Thompson being asleep at the wheel at the end.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_03]: I think that might have been something that rubbed me the wrong way too, because I think he made that joke over and over and over again.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, okay.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_03]: That's fair.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_03]: I don't need this.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I mean some of his takes are horrible, but I just like when you filter through it a little bit.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_05]: He does pat himself on the back a lot.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_05]: That'll be like I said this three years ago.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_03]: It's like that nothing.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_03]: He's got a lot of stuff three years ago.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_03]: But nothing kills me more than like that's why Ross Oglom.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_03]: I have a like this much.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I'll still watch some of his shit here and there especially during the draft fucking ten angles cap cap guru guy.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he tweeted.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_03]: He tweeted something like very neutral about like, oh, Zack Tom.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_03]: That contract's gonna be done pretty soon and it was like a day before training camp started the next day, you know, the day before training camp started.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_03]: Zack Tom science is extension and then Ken like quote tweets his tweet from the previous day.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, hmm, I'm gonna say it was right.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_03]: It's like no fucking shit.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_03]: No, like he takes victory laps for the smallest little things that are very, very obvious to anyone paying attention.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_03]: And he won't accept when he's wrong on things.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_03]: I hate, I hate when he gloat when you're right.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_03]: And then you don't accept it when you're wrong.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_03]: I swear, winner.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_03]: Me, however, I'm a perfect human.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_03]: And I always admit my kind of test.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_04]: You admit to your many shortfalls is what I'm hearing.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, which are none.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_03]: The last guy I talk about for stock up and let's see you guys have more Kaelan King.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_03]: We just went on a bit of a rant there.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_03]: We as in me, but with the beat reporters.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_03]: So this is what Silverstein said and I was kind of pissed.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_03]: I listened to blue fifty eight with John Meerdink and he brought this up as well, but I wrote this down beforehand.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm not still looking for him.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_03]: Tom Silverstein on the Packers news podcast who, again, usually doesn't make statements like this, said, I was really impressed with Kaylin King.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_03]: I just think he's had a great camp and it's come out of nowhere for a seventh round pick from a year ago to be playing slot corner, which isn't an easy position.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_03]: He's physical and active in the run game.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_03]: He broke up two passes in the end zone, tackled a guy short of a first down on a third down play.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_03]: I wonder if he keeps playing well whether they'll just put him on the field more.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_03]: And he's kind of been a guy who, you know, you're, we're seeing these fifty three-man roster predictions who's kind of on the edge there.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_03]: I think a lot of guys are having him as the last quarter to make the team.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_03]: But again, see a guy like Silverstein who's a cramudge and usually it doesn't say make statements like this to be saying that, you know, a guy who is kind of a bubble guy that they're going to have to put him on the field.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_03]: That is very, very interesting to me, especially with Bullard being up and down playing at the slot to see that Keylon King showing up.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_03]: Very, very good news for training camp.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_05]: and also like also if like bullet is your competition for the slot spot it does I don't like I feel like I've given bullet a really hard time but like loved him when we drafted him I mean I did he he felt good he's aggressive like there's things that are like that I enjoy about him but when you watch him in coverage it's like fuck yeah like I put him on a tight end and having like mug a tight end I feel like that's
- 48:04[SPEAKER_05]: That's like the best position for him right now, and I'm not saying it can't change, but like, man, deep safety's not it, you know, covering slots, cash doesn't, it just doesn't seem to be there.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_05]: So Kaling King, obviously, like if that's his competition, that does feel better.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_03]: I, like, reacting these George guys to it's like, why do the Eagles get all the good ones and then we get like the Eric Stokes and obviously, I mean, he can turn around.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but it's because all the ones that fall to the Eagles have character concerns.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, that's a very good point.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_03]: Like Eric Stokes was a very very nice boy.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_03]: He just wasn't very good at football.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_03]: Much of dirt bags over there in Philly.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_03]: Fits it.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_03]: Fits the city.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I guess we got Britain Cox.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_03]: Did he go to not dirt bag?
- 48:52[SPEAKER_03]: Did he go to Georgia?
- 48:53[SPEAKER_03]: Was that one of the two schools?
- 48:54[SPEAKER_03]: It was Florida.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_03]: Florida.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_03]: He got it.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_04]: Cut from Florida.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_03]: I think you got kicked off of both because it was two SEC schools.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember if it was classic SEC.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was it.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_03]: I'll look it up.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, perfect.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_03]: But again, I mean, Billy have something on Kaling King.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_04]: Not about Kaling King.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_04]: I wanted to talk about another corner if I may.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_04]: I'll allow it.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_04]: Bow Mountain.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_04]: I remember when we talked on the podcast about him switching from wide receiver to corner.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_04]: I feel like we all kind of just chuckled and said, Oh, well, that just means you're you're not long for your time in Green Bay if you're making a position switch.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, everything that I've seen during training camp is that he's he looks like a corner.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_04]: And then I watched him during the preseason game.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_04]: He had some plays.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_04]: He was physical against blockers.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_04]: He came up and run support.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_04]: And just looking at him in his back pedal and breaking on the ball.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_04]: It appears that he knows what he's doing.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_04]: And looks comfortable out there.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_04]: And the more that I've seen from the people covering the team, it appears that he's a lock to make it.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_03]: It does feel that way.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_03]: Again, with the coaching staff, you don't know because they obviously, if it was up to them, Bow would be on the team.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe he's kind of like Rich Besatia's.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_03]: I get to pick one special team's guy and we're going to go with Bow this year.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_03]: He did.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_03]: He was out of his uniform after the first half.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_03]: So he was even suited up for the second half.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_03]: So that's usually good sign to him that they think he's important.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_03]: Todd, did you figure out Brent and Cox?
- 50:35[SPEAKER_05]: Yep, uh, beginner's collegiate career at Georgia.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_05]: So once again, I was right.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_05]: Like it made his first career start in the twenty nineteen sugar ball making six tackles and it was downhill from there.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_04]: And it takes a lot to get kicked off a Georgia.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_04]: They have a lot of problems with that program.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_05]: Imagine you have six tackles as a true freshman, not a run for it.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_05]: In a bold engagement.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_05]: In a blue game.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_05]: And they're like, you got to get out the team.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_04]: And we're, I don't want to see this.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_04]: I am, we're in Georgia.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_04]: You can either think either that or it was the head coach saying, I'm going to kick this five star outside lineback or off the team to make a statement because I know that I've got three more five star outside linebackers right behind him.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that he went to Florida and also got character order so maybe Britain was the problem with that we will have a quick commercial break.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_03]: Alright, we are back with the downstocks.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_03]: First thing I've looked up, looked it, listed.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_03]: Back up centers.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_03]: A guy who's talked up a bit based off of his highlight center tape out of Duke.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_03]: Jacob Monk, I think we're starting to realize a little bit more why he didn't get the call against the Eagles after Elton got hurt there.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_03]: he was called for well three holds initially one of them got called back or were playing on some someone else's second one was pretty bullshit I thought but he also had a terrible sack that he let up and he was playing right guard that was pretty bad he's going from you know beginning training camp where is he competing to be the backup center to God is this guy on the roster bubble probably not but the way he's looked it's just not
- 52:25[SPEAKER_03]: Very, very good.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's at the point where I wouldn't be shocked.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_03]: I think on the outside, we're looking pretty good, again, with Morgan and Belton and Walker and Zack Tom.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_03]: but come after cut downs maybe we claim an interior offensive lineman from a different team just because Sean Ryan hasn't been great at center either so I wouldn't be surprised if something happens there and again like I'm saying here the backup center Sean Ryan didn't have a great day either especially playing center it's again something we kind of hinted up before but
- 53:03[SPEAKER_03]: Elton might holding out during like OTAs and coming back for training camp with his back after his back injury healed up.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, maybe he is just back next year because we don't want to do the Josh Myers experiment again and have to start a rookie right off the bat and because I don't think either of these guys are probably ready to be a center next year or right now.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_05]: it is wild like the center position used to be such a like plug-and-play well not even yeah it was just like so consistent like we always just had a word about it never worry about it and now it's like and and I do wonder to like how like how close were we to drafting Creed Humphrey's yeah like where like just where was he like on the board like was it like because that would have been would just been right back where we always were and I feel like the like even if you look back like even like the Jeff Saturday year like
- 54:01[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that was like the end of the year you could tell.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you was going to be his last year's class.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_03]: You say that, but it's like we had a whole at center.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_03]: We signed Jeff Saturday.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_03]: What was shocking at the time?
- 54:12[SPEAKER_03]: Because we never signed free agent that start and then he was benched for Evan Dietrich Smith who ended up being a pretty solid center for us for a few years.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_03]: That's true.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_05]: That's a good point.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_05]: It's just it's a bummer to go through like especially at a position where like a guy that touches the ball every play like you just don't want those guys to be liabilities granted if there's one it's center over quarterback but still it's just like it's a bummer to see that with like the high snaps and like back in really change a game especially when you get to late in the season like just those little tiny plays and not being crisp like we saw that without that center
- 54:50[SPEAKER_05]: Like just like coming in rusty and those high snaps.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, yeah, those matters would be nice to see somebody step up other than, I mean, I think it'll be fine, but it's just like that interior depth does make me a little bit worried because they always someone's getting hurt.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_05]: It's going to happen.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not an offensive line plate expert by any means, but when I notice dudes getting beat, especially on the interior, you know, you're having a bad day.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_04]: I don't even know who this Jay to feel he dude is, but he had a sack and a half, he had the safety.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, we're making this doofus look like an all-pro, and I've literally never heard of it.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_04]: And maybe he makes a team for the Jets and has a really great year.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't know how much of his performance was on monk, but what I think might be even worse is whoever was rotating in during training camp behind monk at third center, like yes.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_04]: He's inconsistent, like you were saying Todd was snaps.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_04]: They're high, they're low, they're wide, whatever.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_04]: It just throws the complete timing of the playoff.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_04]: And it seems like he doesn't even have any trust from the coaching staff to get any meaningful snaps in a play in a preseason game.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_05]: I'd imagine, too, like, that snap being a little bit wild is really gonna throw off a quarterback.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_05]: Especially like in the pros, where you have to see, like, those split seconds matter.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_05]: Hey, if that safety bail's last second, or if he comes down, you know, if you seem crashed down, like, that matters with what you're gonna do with the ball.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_05]: And so, like, just the consistency seems like super crucial for, like,
- 56:25[SPEAKER_05]: you know, especially like RPOs and stuff like that.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm a Wisconsin college football fan unfortunately the last few years and last year their center like did not get any zip on the ball back to the quarterback like the ball would just take so long.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_04]: It almost like float there.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_04]: And the running bag would complain.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_04]: Would want to step up and get the ball kind of in stride.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_04]: And it just felt like every single time he'd get a hand off out of shotgun.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_04]: He's almost like standing waiting there for it.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_04]: And it just the offensive line is is pushing up front.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_04]: And it's just the timing between the quarterback and running back was just all screwed up.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_04]: It was so frustrating to watch.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_05]: That's why they invented the pistol to shoot people.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_03]: And hey, again, they're their flyers not gunners moving on the next stock down the non golden receivers.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_03]: Tudiediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediediedied
- 57:30[SPEAKER_03]: Curving gun violence I have no idea the non-golden receivers stock down I'm gonna get dobs first play of the game drop Jayden read boom
- 57:45[SPEAKER_03]: Wix, Herk, Leigh Keith, Drop, Nicole Hardman, oh fuck, I forgot about him until I literally read his name.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_03]: He, man, he was a guy too, I think we were kind of assuming just reading tweets, reading articles that he's been playing a lot with the first team, making a lot of catches, yada yada is big, get a lot of snaps of special teams.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_03]: and the argument is that he's trying to make the team.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_03]: He wants to show coach what he can do, but fielding the ball at the five, the muff punt, the drop he had on offense too.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it sounds like he was pretty pissed at himself after the game rightfully so, but fuck man, it's like it.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_03]: We talked about it earlier.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe we have to go tie it on heavy.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, shit.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_03]: twelve personnel, twenty-one personnel.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_03]: I mean we just we don't really have to have.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it's just Matthew Goldner out there.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_03]: I mean again, obviously, you know, being a facetious there, but after the way last season went to starch with the first team offense doing this.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_03]: And obviously, I mean we didn't even talk about how good Matthew Goldner looked, but having the one catch and then the past interference penalty.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_03]: Huge, I mean, the two first downs that I believe our first team offense had was off of him.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_03]: So that's great.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_03]: But outside of that, it's like, you know, we talked about you get what you emphasize on defense previously with like the whole ball king thing and first turnovers, which didn't happen in this game.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_03]: What in the fuck does wide receiver coach Ryan Mahafi emphasize?
- 59:18[SPEAKER_03]: Because there's one thing I would emphasize with this group.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_03]: I'll let you guess what that is, but I don't think he's doing it, and it's just... I hope they can turn around if not, it's like, I want him to lose his job.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_03]: I want to be better at what I've seen over this year.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I don't think he's emphasizing staying healthy because we don't have healthy receivers either to be fair.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_04]: I mentioned this to you on Monday Spencer.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_04]: The most frustrating part from the wide receivers is it came from a bunch of dudes that we expect to make the team and play significant roles or at minimum be competing to make the team in the case of McColle Hartman.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_04]: Like if it was
- 59:58[SPEAKER_04]: will shepherd that had a couple of drops.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_04]: Fine.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_04]: Whatever.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_04]: I don't care.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not if he makes the practice squad.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_04]: That's the that's the ceiling for him this year.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_04]: But when it's Romeo Dobbs who's supposed to have the sureest hands on the team and then wicks and reader hurt and then you have Maliki who's trying to fight for a roster spot.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_04]: He drops one.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, who am I supposed to feel excited about right now?
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_04]: Other than Matthew Golden.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_05]: That is the guy like when he was on the field if didn't he catch like one nice little slant yeah for something and then uh who was on him who's the sauce Gardner was on him and then he got a he got a P. I was like he was right there too to catch that one too, so like I don't know this
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_05]: But going back to the wide out to me.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_05]: This is, I mean, it's gross.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_05]: It's like, they're never going to be able to catch the ball.
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_05]: None of them can catch.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_03]: We're definitely not, uh, over analyzing this series.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_05]: So he's just avoiding though to watch Romeo drop too.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_05]: It's like dude.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_05]: Like, why?
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_05]: Because to me, that's like, they're just when he dropped.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_04]: Well,
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_04]: The one the one might have been a defensive play by sauce, but he added in his hands and sure.
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_04]: I think you still can you still got a catch.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_04]: It's a catch that as a professional, I would hope you make the majority of the time.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_05]: The problem is it's like there are these concentration catches.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_05]: Like it's not that they can't catch.
- 1:01:35[SPEAKER_05]: It's that they can't concentrate.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_05]: But like that's the that's the frustrating thing.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_05]: It's like get it together guys.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_05]: Like what's I don't know what the problem is.
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_05]: But like it's been two years figured out.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_03]: Moving on.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_03]: The next stock down is the Isaiah linebackers.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_03]: Isaiah Mcduffy.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_03]: He didn't look great.
- 1:01:56[SPEAKER_03]: I tweeted this out there.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_03]: His helmet looked really round.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know make a bubble hat like Robios Robio's very round, but it just looked very huge.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_03]: It looked really round to me like it was bigger than normal and too big for his head.
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_03]: Kind of like that.
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_03]: I just didn't remember feeling that way previously about his helmet and I have an opinion on everyone's helmet.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_03]: He got beaten like the past game again.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of what always happens.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_03]: But again, the Isaiah linebackers Isaiah Simmons did not look good.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_03]: It was very interesting that he lined up as a gunner.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_03]: Multiple takes a gunner.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm not I'm not going to bend the knee to yeah.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but he lined up as a as a gunner as a linebacker.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_03]: Justice miscaded tweeted this out there.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_03]: I believe how last year in the NFL, it's something like point zero two percent of, uh, linebackers lined up as a gunner last year of snaps at gunner word linebacker.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_03]: So it just does not happen.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_03]: But when you have a, you know, whatever the fuck he is, six four or six five.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_03]: Four, three, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five, five,
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_03]: that mentality or, you know, he doesn't seem to catch on up football very well.
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_04]: He looks good when he's in shorts and a t-shirt during OTAs and then when the pads come on and he's got to go play against another team doesn't look so great.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_05]: So that is a problem in the pros.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so we'll see what happens at inside linebacker again.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_03]: It's like what and with that.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, someone who we probably should have had, I think I just want to talk about him here, but again, Hooper Hopper, I keep forgetting his name Tyron, who I he was very bad last year as a rookie barely got on the field.
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_03]: He was the one that we got with the Result Douglas trade.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_03]: But he might just be moving up the depth chart just because Simmons isn't very good.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_03]: Isaiah McDuffy is kind of man.
- 1:04:23[SPEAKER_03]: Have people been saying good things about him and camp though?
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_03]: Who?
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_03]: Hopper.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm saying good.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_03]: He's good.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_03]: He's been he's been looking good.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_03]: Because he gets his heat grayed out well.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and he's a lot more active in the run game than I think people were expecting to.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_03]: So I think it's funny because this offseason with recigning, McDuffie bringing in Simmons.
- 1:04:49[SPEAKER_03]: It seemed like they were trying to move away from Tyron.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_03]: And now he's, he's above the depth chart.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_03]: It feels like from those guys right now.
- 1:04:58[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know how that'll shake out at the back end there.
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_03]: There's Christian Welch still sitting out there too.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_03]: So special teams all star.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_03]: You see he ran that one down.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_03]: They like double.
- 1:05:10[SPEAKER_03]: I forget the terminology, but they doubled up on the gunners.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_03]: So he had to like run straight down the field and he's going to make the tackle on that one point.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_03]: That was pretty fucking cool.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_03]: This is like one of the early puns of the game I believe, right?
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_03]: That's a thing to with like Isaiah Simmons and him because it probably comes down to those two.
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, well, do you want the potential of Simmons or do you want a more well round of it now, a getting older linebacker in Waltre's and it's like six for a year.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_03]: He wasn't fast to begin with.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't know if he could really play defense all that well, but he is more of a special teams.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_03]: It's like what special teams guy do you want to go with?
- 1:05:47[SPEAKER_05]: So we got to give Rich all the guys Rich gets every player that he wants.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_05]: So we can have a you know lower half of the league special teams.
- 1:05:57[SPEAKER_03]: He is the assistant head coach, so I hope he has so much pull because he's shown so much as a special team coordinator for this team.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_04]: Is he the highest paid coordinator in the league?
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he is anymore.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_03]: But he's up there.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_03]: Do you see who the special team's coordinator was for the jets?
- 1:06:18[SPEAKER_03]: No former packer.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_04]: I feel like I'm gonna know this one.
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_03]: Chris, banjo.
- 1:06:24[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
- 1:06:25[SPEAKER_03]: What?
- 1:06:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 1:06:27[SPEAKER_03]: He played safety special teams player.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_03]: He was a special team season to leak for a while.
- 1:06:31[SPEAKER_03]: Like the key played a lot for the Saints and the Cardinals after we moved on from him.
- 1:06:36[SPEAKER_03]: So, yeah, Saints sounds familiar.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_03]: Again, pretty cool.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, look at that.
- 1:06:39[SPEAKER_03]: Whether it's special teams coaches were so bad, we could have just had one of our players be a better coordinator than some of the guys that we brought in.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_04]: That's true.
- 1:06:46[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we could probably do it.
- 1:06:48[SPEAKER_04]: Chris Gizzy's a special team coordinator, isn't he?
- 1:06:53[SPEAKER_03]: Um, no, Chris Gizzy was the trainer that we find.
- 1:06:56[SPEAKER_04]: That's, oh, that's right.
- 1:06:58[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:06:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_03]: He was a, he's another former player.
- 1:07:00[SPEAKER_03]: We talked about this before.
- 1:07:01[SPEAKER_03]: Chris Gizzy was the former trainer Darren Rizzi as the special team coordinator.
- 1:07:06[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 1:07:08[SPEAKER_03]: That's where I got confused.
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, my fucking stupid brain.
- 1:07:12[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, other news and notes, kicker, mark, nickname, nickname, whatever the fuck the Tall Irish kid from Ireland because he's Irish.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_03]: He finally got to green from Scotland.
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, let me, is he a redhead?
- 1:07:30[SPEAKER_03]: Hold on.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, he is nope.
- 1:07:33[SPEAKER_03]: He is still Irish.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so we signed up in two weeks to get his visa stuff figured out, but he flew into Green Bay at eleven p.m.
- 1:07:42[SPEAKER_03]: The day before the game, which is pretty funny.
- 1:07:44[SPEAKER_03]: And then he came in and he handled all the kickoffs.
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_03]: And he did pretty well, too, because if you remember, they changed the kickoff rules where it still has to land in that area.
- 1:07:53[SPEAKER_03]: And now there is more of a penalty.
- 1:07:54[SPEAKER_03]: I think it goes out to the thirty five if you don't make it in there.
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_03]: and he didn't have any bad kick so that's a good start there.
- 1:08:02[SPEAKER_03]: Pretty cool journey with him to how he's quit his job like the last year to just to kick footballs and he was like in the Canadian football league got cut.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_03]: He went to the NFL Combine didn't get any calls for a while and then out of nowhere the packer is called him and now he's been you know.
- 1:08:18[SPEAKER_03]: figuring out his VC shit got here and the ball just watching the clips like the ball does make a weird sound off his foot like he is a thick muscular kicker and he pounds that ball so I wonder if he actually turns into something here but I don't I assume he's the uh... international whatever player so he's basically a freebie on the roster so he's the real guy stock up for him
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, it couldn't really be down because he, you know, he's lucky to be in three.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_04]: We're just talking about him after we talked about a bunch of dudes that were stocked down.
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_05]: Are you down on Danny wheelin?
- 1:08:53[SPEAKER_05]: No, he was great.
- 1:08:54[SPEAKER_05]: You live in dealing.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_05]: No, fuck down.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_05]: He was great.
- 1:08:56[SPEAKER_05]: Well, if you're up on his back up.
- 1:08:58[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, if I was a kid.
- 1:08:59[SPEAKER_04]: You're not a punter.
- 1:09:01[SPEAKER_04]: I said this during the game about what about wheelin.
- 1:09:05[SPEAKER_04]: If we had a bottom ten offense in the league, wheelin would be an all pro punter.
- 1:09:11[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, that's fair.
- 1:09:12[SPEAKER_03]: He's, because again, this week, he was just fucking pounding him too.
- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_03]: Um, Hell yeah, I thought he had a big man.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_03]: It's stock up.
- 1:09:22[SPEAKER_03]: Other news, we did sign Cory Valentine.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_03]: We talked about this a little bit earlier this off season two, how it would have been nice to just keep him around because he's a nice little guaranteed as a fifth or sixth corner.
- 1:09:33[SPEAKER_03]: He's been running with a lot of these starting special teams units, so he might have a good shot of making this team.
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_03]: Again, it's
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe coming down to being a little bit more interesting than we initially thought at the back end of the corner back room with Bow Melton, Cory Ballantine, and Kaelan King now.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_03]: So just something to monitor, but I feel a little bit better about that depth.
- 1:09:53[SPEAKER_03]: If nothing else, one of those guys ending up on the practice squad, maybe having to play some defensive snaps would be better than where were the fuck Dawn or wherever these guys are having to play a little bit more.
- 1:10:05[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and then I just wrote down Carl Brooks and Bullard Bullard.
- 1:10:08[SPEAKER_03]: We talked about him a little bit.
- 1:10:09[SPEAKER_03]: But Carl Brooks has been about the, he's a guy I have been high on since, you know, we drafted him.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_03]: He's really good as rookie year, but he has really developed much and I haven't read much of anything about him during training camp here.
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't think you guys have anything to say about him, but, uh, hey, if you have anything to say now, block extraordinaire.
- 1:10:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yep, just Carl Brooks.
- 1:10:29[SPEAKER_03]: Just the one, just the one thing that's only needs.
- 1:10:33[SPEAKER_03]: Again, Rich is gonna keep him.
- 1:10:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, I would be shocked if he actually got cut, but you know, I even forgot to bring up his name when we were talking about the rotation of edge guys that we have.
- 1:10:43[SPEAKER_05]: He, he, I like Carl Brooks.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_05]: I feel like he's fun when he's out there.
- 1:10:46[SPEAKER_05]: He looks like he's like high effort.
- 1:10:49[SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, I don't know, haven't heard anything about him really.
- 1:10:52[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_05]: And the, the Twitter sphere.
- 1:10:57[SPEAKER_03]: Last thing to talk about.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_03]: God, we went longer than I thought we would.
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_03]: I thought this would be a quick podcast, but no such thing.
- 1:11:04[SPEAKER_03]: No such thing.
- 1:11:05[SPEAKER_03]: Mark Murphy has a new gig.
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_03]: Again, you know, it didn't want to talk about them, but when news happens, I've got to talk to it.
- 1:11:11[SPEAKER_03]: I would be letting the fans down if I didn't, and they're millions of them.
- 1:11:15[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, great news today.
- 1:11:18[SPEAKER_03]: former Packers President slash CEO Mark Murphy taking a new role with the University of Wisconsin Green Bay Athletics, according to the release from the University, Murphy accepted a role as the Phoenix's inaugural executive in residence.
- 1:11:35[SPEAKER_03]: Whatever the fuck that means.
- 1:11:37[SPEAKER_03]: Now, super straightforward.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_03]: Super straightforward.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it makes sense him taking some type of job like this, as most probably remember he was the AD at North Western before taking the job with the Packers.
- 1:11:48[SPEAKER_03]: However, if you just rewind to last year in November something that we talked about, was this news clipping.
- 1:11:56[SPEAKER_03]: So this is, I'm just reading this.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_03]: This is from the Packers release, which I've been on the internet again.
- 1:12:02[SPEAKER_03]: The Green Bay Packers, again, this is November, fourteenth, twenty-seventh, one of those dates, something like that, middle of November.
- 1:12:08[SPEAKER_03]: The Green Bay Packers and UWGB announced today that the Packers are making a leading gift to establish and endow the, quote, Mark Murphy, Director of Athletics Position at the University.
- 1:12:21[SPEAKER_03]: The gift of two hundred fifty thousand dollars is being made by the Packers and honor of the organization's longtime president and CEO as he approaches retirement in July after seventeen seasons.
- 1:12:33[SPEAKER_03]: UWGB Director of Athletics Josh Moon will become the first Mark Murphy and Dow Director of Athletics Effective Immediately.
- 1:12:42[SPEAKER_03]: So, again, if I'm crazy here, let me know, but you are just maybe not for this reason.
- 1:12:50[SPEAKER_03]: A year ago, we gave this university, we, the Packers, the Packers, not Mark Murphy, the Packers, gave this university a quarter of a million dollars, and they created a position named after Mark Murphy.
- 1:13:04[SPEAKER_03]: Fast forward, eight months later, whatever.
- 1:13:07[SPEAKER_03]: In Mark Murphy joins that university,
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_03]: in some inaugural executive in residence position.
- 1:13:15[SPEAKER_03]: How much money is he getting paid?
- 1:13:17[SPEAKER_03]: And did one thing lead to another?
- 1:13:19[SPEAKER_03]: Because to me, I'm gonna kick back to me.
- 1:13:22[SPEAKER_03]: It is just grease in the wheels a little bit.
- 1:13:24[SPEAKER_03]: And again, this is the guy who I forgot the law firm or whatever that he worked with.
- 1:13:31[SPEAKER_03]: But when the packers in two thousand seven were hiring a new president, they had a, they hired a search firm.
- 1:13:36[SPEAKER_03]: And they came up with Mark Murphy's name.
- 1:13:39[SPEAKER_03]: He gets hired to be the packers next president.
- 1:13:41[SPEAKER_03]: Well, Mark Murphy, when he's when the Packers have to start their search for the next president, even though we had Ed policy who had been here for ten plus years, waiting in the ring, rings to be the next president, we give this search firm another probably million dollars to just tell us the obvious choice is the obvious choice a little kickback there again, and I'm just like
- 1:14:04[SPEAKER_03]: is no one else seeing this like mark you can go off and do your things or whatever but it's like did the packers have to get involved to one give up that much money and to make a position with his name which he didn't like if if he I don't know I don't know how I would view it but if he got hired on to the physician named after him I might be
- 1:14:26[SPEAKER_03]: more fine with it because it's like who else would be better for the role than Mark Murphy for the Mark Murphy endowed director of athletics position, but isn't this a little fishy?
- 1:14:39[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, absolutely.
- 1:14:42[SPEAKER_04]: I don't even understand that the so-called relationship, longstanding relationship between UW Green Bay and the Packers.
- 1:14:49[SPEAKER_04]: They're also in Green Bay as weird.
- 1:14:51[SPEAKER_04]: UW Green Bay doesn't even have a football team that I'm aware of.
- 1:14:54[SPEAKER_04]: So where's this relationship?
- 1:14:56[SPEAKER_04]: It's not like the Packers are letting UW Green Bay use their facilities or anything.
- 1:15:02[SPEAKER_04]: Well, don't you know, what is the relationship?
- 1:15:04[SPEAKER_03]: Don't you guys remember that the Packers would always during training camp stay at the dorms?
- 1:15:09[SPEAKER_03]: Wait, no, no, that's right.
- 1:15:10[SPEAKER_03]: That was straight.
- 1:15:10[SPEAKER_03]: That was straight.
- 1:15:11[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I know.
- 1:15:12[SPEAKER_03]: That was the joke.
- 1:15:13[SPEAKER_03]: But it's like, so even, they're not even the college that they have history with nearby.
- 1:15:16[SPEAKER_04]: And then, so there's two hundred and fifty thousand dollars that the Packers donate to put Mark Murphy's name on this position.
- 1:15:24[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, what's happening to this money?
- 1:15:27[SPEAKER_04]: Like, is this pain this dude salary for a year or something?
- 1:15:31[SPEAKER_05]: And then next, the packers make a donation to the golf course, Mark Murphy bought right.
- 1:15:37[SPEAKER_03]: For the long standing cooperating a year before Mark Murphy bought the golf course.
- 1:15:43[SPEAKER_04]: It's not like they put this money towards an athletic scholarship or something like they named it after, you know, some dude that's already getting paid six figures to be the AD at this division three school.
- 1:16:00[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I like it.
- 1:16:01[SPEAKER_05]: I like it.
- 1:16:02[SPEAKER_05]: I like it.
- 1:16:02[SPEAKER_05]: I think it was crafty.
- 1:16:04[SPEAKER_05]: I think I was going to pick up on it.
- 1:16:07[SPEAKER_04]: I thought that everybody would forget about what happened eight months ago.
- 1:16:11[SPEAKER_05]: I think, yeah, no one's going to pick up on this.
- 1:16:13[SPEAKER_05]: I think everyone's probably like, oh, yeah, I do remember.
- 1:16:16[SPEAKER_05]: You know, UWGB being a big part of Packers history.
- 1:16:21[SPEAKER_03]: If you say so Green Bay Packers press release.
- 1:16:26[SPEAKER_03]: I like how you said it.
- 1:16:27[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't even think of it but the way you're saying it's crafty.
- 1:16:30[SPEAKER_03]: It's like Mark Murphy.
- 1:16:31[SPEAKER_03]: Knowing him like if you remember last year he had his Mark Murphy day two or the fucking coin they flipped at the beginning of the game had his head is face on it.
- 1:16:39[SPEAKER_03]: They had his whole ceremony.
- 1:16:42[SPEAKER_03]: He was on the program.
- 1:16:46[SPEAKER_03]: I'm thinking like even this embezzling whatever the fuck this is he couldn't he couldn't do it without like getting more like they could have donated this money or something and not had a big press release and shit last year, but it's like he couldn't not
- 1:17:04[SPEAKER_03]: have the position, like even if you give them the money, sure.
- 1:17:08[SPEAKER_03]: But it's like you had to make the mark Murphy.
- 1:17:10[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 1:17:10[SPEAKER_03]: Have you ever heard of a position with a person's name in it?
- 1:17:14[SPEAKER_03]: A job with a person's name?
- 1:17:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's just it's hiding in plain sight.
- 1:17:18[SPEAKER_04]: Honestly, it sounds like naming a football field after dude, only they paid to do it.
- 1:17:24[SPEAKER_04]: Like, hey, I'm gonna pay you two hundred and fifty thousand dollars to rename the actual turf at Lambo field.
- 1:17:33[SPEAKER_04]: Billy and Todd ceremonial honorary field at Lambo field.
- 1:17:39[SPEAKER_03]: It just feels like like if you press Mark Murphy about it, if you went up to him, we're like, Mark, what the fuck is this?
- 1:17:44[SPEAKER_03]: Two hundred fifty thousand dollars that you gave you WGB that was obviously just a backdoor deal for you to get finagle your way.
- 1:17:52[SPEAKER_03]: He'd be like, who told you?
- 1:17:53[SPEAKER_03]: Who told you that when it was like the most obvious thing ever, because it's like he got pissed off at Jason Wildy at the presser after he changed the structure and they hired right, good at guns, because
- 1:18:03[SPEAKER_03]: will do is like okay what makes you qualified to make football football decisions you know you're giving yourself that responsibility you know and he's he was like taking a back by it's like how do you not know you're gonna be asked that question and how are you offended by it when it's so obvious and here like I wouldn't be shocked if he was like wait I shouldn't have done this I shouldn't have made a position
- 1:18:25[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I think his job is at UW Green Bay.
- 1:18:28[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's just going to make more.
- 1:18:30[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to make more back room deals, you know, between they want is on the deal.
- 1:18:36[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to help broker deals between UW Green Bay and businesses for like sponsorships or whatever.
- 1:18:43[SPEAKER_05]: And he's just going to take a little bit of money off the top like he's like, oh, hey, hey, you guys have any contracts with the city that we can trim down.
- 1:18:53[SPEAKER_03]: I'm really good at that.
- 1:18:54[SPEAKER_03]: Let's buy this lot nearby the campus and make Phoenix town.
- 1:19:02[SPEAKER_04]: I'm pretty sure it's you W Green Bay actually talked about his work with Pidal Town in the press release I think they did they said something about like what is it like innovation city or something is like another thing expect you to do on your campus I'm imagining him like going to a meeting with like
- 1:19:28[SPEAKER_03]: I got this idea for this pluddle and then he literally takes out the blue prince from like title town.
- 1:19:33[SPEAKER_03]: It's like let's just make it a little smaller.
- 1:19:36[SPEAKER_05]: He takes he taped the UWGB logo right over the top of the G for the Packers.
- 1:19:41[SPEAKER_05]: He just scribbled it out with Sharpie.
- 1:19:44[SPEAKER_03]: I think he just looks up.
- 1:19:45[SPEAKER_04]: This is just a concept.
- 1:19:50[SPEAKER_05]: Also if you're I'm maybe I'm the idiot in this situation but like you're hiring like let's say he is going to help out with like that innovation city or whatever the heck it's called it's like
- 1:20:03[SPEAKER_05]: What did Mark Murphy do?
- 1:20:04[SPEAKER_05]: He just allowed people to go spend money to build tile town district.
- 1:20:09[SPEAKER_05]: Like he didn't have.
- 1:20:10[SPEAKER_05]: They were like, Mark, what are we going to do when he's like, oh, sledding hills and hotels.
- 1:20:15[SPEAKER_05]: Like he asked.
- 1:20:16[SPEAKER_05]: It was just like, talk to someone else.
- 1:20:19[SPEAKER_05]: I'll put someone else in charge of it.
- 1:20:21[SPEAKER_04]: It was just, hey, let's go buy that Kmart plot and somebody else can figure out what they want to do with it.
- 1:20:27[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was like a Mark Murphy.
- 1:20:29[SPEAKER_05]: He did it all.
- 1:20:30[SPEAKER_05]: Like he's just like at the top taking credit the whole time.
- 1:20:34[SPEAKER_05]: No.
- 1:20:36[SPEAKER_03]: That was good.
- 1:20:36[SPEAKER_03]: That was a good laugh.
- 1:20:37[SPEAKER_03]: I haven't laughed like that.
- 1:20:38[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 1:20:39[SPEAKER_03]: I like literally just imagining him with bloop.
- 1:20:41[SPEAKER_03]: Like laying a mouth out of his back pocket.
- 1:20:45[SPEAKER_04]: He would probably show up with like a hard hat on or something.
- 1:20:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:20:50[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 1:20:50[SPEAKER_03]: You guys ready to break ground.
- 1:20:51[SPEAKER_03]: They're like, Mark, we don't know what we're doing at all.
- 1:20:54[SPEAKER_04]: We don't have the money for this.
- 1:20:57[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 1:20:59[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know how long that went.
- 1:21:00[SPEAKER_03]: But I think that was a good enough episode.
- 1:21:02[SPEAKER_03]: We'll be back next week.
- 1:21:05[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I haven't done this in a couple of weeks.
- 1:21:07[SPEAKER_03]: If you could please leave a review on Spotify or Apple on Apple would be, well, I don't think we've had one on there in quite a while.
- 1:21:15[SPEAKER_03]: Just leave a review.
- 1:21:16[SPEAKER_03]: Say whatever to say, we're great.
- 1:21:18[SPEAKER_03]: Say we're bad.
- 1:21:19[SPEAKER_03]: I don't care, but do five stars if you want a free cozy to get screenshot of it.
- 1:21:24[SPEAKER_03]: Email it to us at pppodcast.gmail.com or dms on Twitter.
- 1:21:28[SPEAKER_03]: Spotify you can comment oh fuck we had a comment last week too I forgot the guy's name if you're listening you know I'm talking about you he said like hidden gem or something always a good listen something like that yeah so there you go you can comment on each episode to Spotify to now a neat thing they've made their own chapter so I just upload the episode
- 1:21:55[SPEAKER_03]: And they like make ten minute long chapters like the AI, whatever they have, knows what we're talking about.
- 1:22:02[SPEAKER_03]: And it gives you timestamps for like the shit.
- 1:22:04[SPEAKER_03]: So you could look at that too.
- 1:22:05[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know why you want.
- 1:22:06[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure you listen to the whole thing anyway.
- 1:22:08[SPEAKER_05]: So that's considering to read what the comment was.
- 1:22:11[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you can read it.
- 1:22:13[SPEAKER_05]: It was from sea, niche, two, ninety, quietly an awesome Packers pod, all reliable.
- 1:22:20[SPEAKER_03]: There you go.
- 1:22:21[SPEAKER_03]: I like, like, all reliable more than quietly, because we're obviously movers and shakers in the industry, but I don't know except making moves.
- 1:22:29[SPEAKER_05]: It's us and Mark making an impact showing up.
- 1:22:32[SPEAKER_04]: It's a little concerning.
- 1:22:34[SPEAKER_04]: It's a little concerning to me that AI knows what we're talking about, because I don't think we know what we're talking about.
- 1:22:39[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it didn't correct itself last week when I said, I was wrong.
- 1:22:45[SPEAKER_03]: I accidentally said, Russ Ball.
- 1:22:46[SPEAKER_03]: Russ Ball is brought on his new president.
- 1:22:48[SPEAKER_03]: It didn't correct it to Ed policy.
- 1:22:50[SPEAKER_03]: So it didn't know to do that when the rest of the conversation was said, I had a manually go in and change it, which they, which Spotify made pretty easy to do.
- 1:22:59[SPEAKER_03]: So whatever, good job spotify on that.
- 1:23:02[SPEAKER_03]: Your Spotify's only known for great things, especially recently.
- 1:23:08[SPEAKER_05]: Wait, did something bad.
- 1:23:09[SPEAKER_03]: I read something that I haven't updated my Spotify, but now you have to like scan your ID if you want to Yeah, right if you want to use it.
- 1:23:19[SPEAKER_03]: So who let's why do you need this spot?
- 1:23:21[SPEAKER_03]: Like my driver's license.
- 1:23:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, nothing bad can come from this.
- 1:23:24[SPEAKER_03]: You definitely take all my information.
- 1:23:25[SPEAKER_03]: You have none of the other stuff.
- 1:23:27[SPEAKER_04]: What kind of podcasts are on Spotify that they need to have this?
- 1:23:33[SPEAKER_03]: All of them.
- 1:23:35[SPEAKER_03]: Color daddy's got to be over eighteen.
- 1:23:39[SPEAKER_05]: So it appropriate.
- 1:23:40[SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.
- 1:23:41[SPEAKER_03]: It can only assume
- 1:23:42[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, I'll just have the g-rated version of them.
- 1:23:45[SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
- 1:23:45[SPEAKER_03]: With that, with that, you guys got anything else?
- 1:23:48[SPEAKER_03]: Anything important training camp.
- 1:23:50[SPEAKER_03]: Players, people, things, places, food.
- 1:23:53[SPEAKER_03]: When do we play on Saturday?
- 1:23:55[SPEAKER_05]: Is it a, I didn't know a day.
- 1:23:56[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't know a day.
- 1:23:57[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe played.
- 1:23:57[SPEAKER_05]: I think it's Saturday at noon against the colds at the colds.
- 1:24:02[SPEAKER_05]: Cool.
- 1:24:03[SPEAKER_03]: There you go.
- 1:24:04[SPEAKER_03]: Anthony Richardson.
- 1:24:05[SPEAKER_03]: He's, I don't, we only have to talk about him.
- 1:24:08[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even know if he's back.
- 1:24:09[SPEAKER_03]: We're actually singing again with the, here it is Pinky finger.
- 1:24:13[SPEAKER_04]: But it does not matter if he's practicing or not.
- 1:24:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:24:17[SPEAKER_03]: With that AJ Dillon, pick a cell.
- 1:24:21[SPEAKER_02]: See anybody on Twitter or whatever.
- 1:24:23[SPEAKER_02]: You can't do what we're doing.
- 1:24:24[SPEAKER_02]: Just enjoy just watch.
- 1:24:48[SPEAKER_00]: and working like me down here.
- 1:24:58[SPEAKER_00]: I said hey now a little baby, I'm gonna dip
- 1:25:02[SPEAKER_05]: It's just like, it's people on horses going over stuff.
- 1:25:05[SPEAKER_05]: There is that difference.
- 1:25:06[SPEAKER_05]: That's a question.
- 1:25:08[SPEAKER_05]: Like, what's the difference?
- 1:25:09[SPEAKER_03]: That's too.
- 1:25:09[SPEAKER_03]: Probably cool.
- 1:25:10[SPEAKER_05]: You horse or you're roping stuff.
- 1:25:12[SPEAKER_03]: Watch this horse truck.
- 1:25:14[SPEAKER_03]: Like, that's what they do.
- 1:25:15[SPEAKER_04]: I know what they do.
- 1:25:16[SPEAKER_04]: I thought the rodeo was like writing big bulls with big horns.
- 1:25:21[SPEAKER_03]: That's bull right.
- 1:25:22[SPEAKER_03]: That's bull right.
- 1:25:24[SPEAKER_03]: They might have done that.
- 1:25:25[SPEAKER_03]: They might have thought it was different.
- 1:25:27[SPEAKER_03]: They might have done that too, but it was a small county.
- 1:25:29[SPEAKER_03]: It was a Douglas county one.
- 1:25:31[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't remember.
- 1:25:32[SPEAKER_03]: They don't remember that dumb to do that.
- 1:25:35[SPEAKER_03]: If it's people riding bulls, I'm for sure in.
