Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Teachers unions go for REVENGE AGAINST parents who stood up for parent's rights! NOW, THEY ARE STRIKING & laying off white teachers!

- 0:00Speaker 1: You may have seen an interesting trend happening in the
- 0:02Speaker 1: country right now, and that is teachers are going on strike.
- 0:07Speaker 1: They're demanding more money right as schools are starting all
- 0:10Speaker 1: over the country. And why is this happening? Because they
- 0:13Speaker 1: understand how much power they have if they literally don't
- 0:16Speaker 1: show up for work. Teachers on August of twenty second
- 0:21Speaker 1: decided it was a good day in the Yorktown Middle
- 0:24Speaker 1: School District in Columbus, Ohio to go on strike. Teachers
- 0:29Speaker 1: are now on strike in all of Columbus, Ohio, demanding
- 0:33Speaker 1: quote functioning air conditioning, even though that apparently isn't the
- 0:38Speaker 1: real story. In Philadelphia, it's mostly bus drivers and other
- 0:42Speaker 1: workers who want better wages and quote more time off
- 0:46Speaker 1: for training. These are local stories with a distinct connection.
- 0:53Speaker 1: They all are being fed by a national narrative that
- 0:57Speaker 1: teachers are not getting the money that they are owed. Now,
- 1:02Speaker 1: before I get into more of this story, I want
- 1:04Speaker 1: to say thank you and tell you about our good
- 1:06Speaker 1: friends at Legacy Precious Medals. Without them, the show wouldn't
- 1:09Speaker 1: be possible. And if you have not looked at gold
- 1:12Speaker 1: and silver as a way to protect your hard earned
- 1:14Speaker 1: dollars against what's happening on Wall Street with inflation, it's
- 1:18Speaker 1: time for you to call them and get the free
- 1:20Speaker 1: Investor's Guide. Why because so many around the world are
- 1:23Speaker 1: now using gold and silver, and historically they have for
- 1:26Speaker 1: decades as a protection, a hedge against inflation, which is
- 1:30Speaker 1: exactly what we're dealing with right now. If you're terrified
- 1:33Speaker 1: to look at your retirement account, you're four one case
- 1:35Speaker 1: statement because of what's happening on Wall Street. That's all
- 1:39Speaker 1: the more reason why you should call and get the
- 1:41Speaker 1: investors God in gold and silver, protect your hard earned
- 1:43Speaker 1: money and diversify. Call them and get the free Investor's
- 1:47Speaker 1: Guide from Legacy Precious Medals one eight six six seven
- 1:52Speaker 1: five one twenty two eighteen. One eight six six seven
- 1:57Speaker 1: five one twenty two eighteen are online at Legacy PM
- 2:01Speaker 1: investments dot Com. Now they're also trying to do this
- 2:05Speaker 1: right now as many Americans are advocating and supporting school choice,
- 2:11Speaker 1: which is another issue that just tells you how stupid
- 2:15Speaker 1: the left actually is that they think the time to
- 2:18Speaker 1: renegotiate a deal is when school church is becoming more
- 2:20Speaker 1: popular than ever. One of the other issues that has
- 2:25Speaker 1: brought all of this to the forefront is the anger
- 2:29Speaker 1: and disdain for you as a parent by school administrators.
- 2:33Speaker 1: San Diego Unified School District president just came out right
- 2:37Speaker 1: before school started making it clear you as a parent
- 2:40Speaker 1: need to shut up about your kids. Parents who don't
- 2:43Speaker 1: want to wear a mask indoors in school? Are there
- 2:46Speaker 1: any other options for them? Well, the fall, there are
- 2:50Speaker 1: some options. They can go to our school that's online.
- 2:55Speaker 1: They can opt not to return to the regular school,
- 2:58Speaker 1: but to go to the school where they don't have
- 3:00Speaker 1: to go to school at all, other than via zoom.
- 3:04Speaker 1: And that's the easiest way for folks. About the summer school,
- 3:08Speaker 1: what if they were already enrolled in the summer school
- 3:10Speaker 1: and now they get this mask mandate and they're not
- 3:13Speaker 1: comfortable with wearing a mask, they really should wear the mask.
- 3:17Speaker 1: If they're not comfortable, what should they do? They should
- 3:21Speaker 1: just let make it known that they don't feel comfortable
- 3:24Speaker 1: and at that point just not return. Yeah, just don't
- 3:27Speaker 1: shut up parents. That's in San Diego, that school present
- 3:31Speaker 1: suggesting students who feel in comfort of wearing a mask
- 3:33Speaker 1: should not return to school at all. Right, because we're
- 3:37Speaker 1: the dictators, we're the tyrants, and you need to shut
- 3:39Speaker 1: up and By the way, if you challenge us, just
- 3:41Speaker 1: remember your domestic terrorists. That's right, a domestic terrorist. We've
- 3:47Speaker 1: labeled you that way with a federal government. Chicago public
- 3:50Speaker 1: school students say that they are mad right that the
- 3:55Speaker 1: parents and the kids are not being given a choice
- 3:58Speaker 1: on wearing masks, and we're still doing this in twenty
- 4:00Speaker 1: twenty two. This comes as Loudon County schools had some
- 4:05Speaker 1: major problems and the fathers have come together saying they
- 4:09Speaker 1: don't trust a school district. They're over some of their
- 4:11Speaker 1: cover ups. This is my first time speaking at a
- 4:15Speaker 1: school board meeting, but I can no longer remain silent.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I have four young daughters, the oldest of which just
- 4:19Speaker 1: entered loud County Public schools. I'm extremely concerned about the
- 4:22Speaker 1: sexual assaults which occurred. A school should be a safe
- 4:24Speaker 1: place for children to come, not a place for the
- 4:26Speaker 1: highest levels of leadership of the school district to cover
- 4:28Speaker 1: up what happens in the district. Let me get this straight.
- 4:31Speaker 1: A high school student sexually assault another student and the
- 4:33Speaker 1: penalty is to move into another school with an ankle brace.
- 4:35Speaker 1: That's lunacy. What is also lunacy is lying to the
- 4:38Speaker 1: victim's father in a public meeting about it, and then
- 4:40Speaker 1: he's the one that gets in trouble. That is calling
- 4:42Speaker 1: good evil and evil good. Your policies are contributing to
- 4:45Speaker 1: creating an unsafe environment in the schools. I do not
- 4:48Speaker 1: want boys in my daughter's bathrooms. I do not want
- 4:49Speaker 1: boys on my daughter's sports teams. How can I, as
- 4:52Speaker 1: a father trust you as a superintendent and you as
- 4:54Speaker 1: a school board to keep my daughters safe at school?
- 4:56Speaker 1: Why would I want to entrust you with all of
- 4:58Speaker 1: our daughters once they become school age. The answers, I
- 5:00Speaker 1: can't doctors. You're going to ask you to resign in
- 5:02Speaker 1: all the board members, I ask you to resign as well.
- 5:04Speaker 1: You may wonder why the dad was talking so fast.
- 5:07Speaker 1: This is what erupted with school choice in this country
- 5:10Speaker 1: when Loudon County covered up the sexual assault of a
- 5:12Speaker 1: student and then move that kid, as you just heard,
- 5:15Speaker 1: to another school. It's actually what turned into the big
- 5:18Speaker 1: Virginia race and young can winning in Virginia. As you
- 5:21Speaker 1: had the Democrats saying, I don't think parents should be
- 5:24Speaker 1: involved at all in their kids' lives in schools. You
- 5:27Speaker 1: should shut up and go home. Well, dropped your kid off,
- 5:30Speaker 1: then shut up and go home. And if you want
- 5:33Speaker 1: to know why that dad had to talk so fast,
- 5:35Speaker 1: it's because Louden County decided to change the rules where
- 5:37Speaker 1: you only had one minute to speak of the school
- 5:40Speaker 1: board meetings. That dad did all of that in fifty
- 5:43Speaker 1: two seconds. Now, I go back to the other big
- 5:48Speaker 1: problem that we're having in this country, and that is
- 5:50Speaker 1: you are seeing the unions where they're saying, all right,
- 5:53Speaker 1: you better get the best deal you can get right now,
- 5:55Speaker 1: and you better start picketing, and you better do it
- 5:57Speaker 1: quickly because we need a better deal in case they
- 6:00Speaker 1: moved towards school choice. That's why in places like Columbus
- 6:05Speaker 1: and Philadelphia they are picketing and striking right when school starts.
- 6:10Speaker 1: They're learning, by the way from places like Minneapolis and
- 6:13Speaker 1: Sacramento that have already done this, and teachers are increasingly
- 6:17Speaker 1: comfortable resorting to strikes, a tendency that predates COVID nineteen
- 6:22Speaker 1: pandemic standoffs over working conditions. Right the union back in
- 6:27Speaker 1: twenty nineteen in Chicago, they went on strike. In fact,
- 6:31Speaker 1: they did also in twenty eighteen. They call it the
- 6:35Speaker 1: Wave of for Education, and they did get higher pay
- 6:41Speaker 1: and other benefits for teachers by striking in places like Arizona, Colorado, Kentucky,
- 6:48Speaker 1: North Carolina, Oklahoma, and West Virginia. An Urban Institute review
- 6:53Speaker 1: published in May of this year found evidence of nearly
- 6:56Speaker 1: seven hundred teacher strikes between twenty seven nineteen, and most
- 7:00Speaker 1: of these occurred as part of the coordinated multidistrict efforts
- 7:04Speaker 1: after twenty seventeen by the unions. The analysis included any
- 7:09Speaker 1: example resulting in at least one school closing in a
- 7:12Speaker 1: district and also included walkouts, sickouts, and other work stoppages. Now,
- 7:18Speaker 1: they don't do it when they're off work in summer. No,
- 7:20Speaker 1: they wait till they can hold your kid hostage. So
- 7:23Speaker 1: let's go back to Columbus and what's happening there. Columbus
- 7:27Speaker 1: is the largest school district in Ohio, and students in
- 7:30Speaker 1: the district may not be able to start school on
- 7:33Speaker 1: time now because the Columbus Education Association union is striking
- 7:38Speaker 1: for the first time since nineteen seventy five. Now, rather
- 7:42Speaker 1: than report to school, these students may have to relive
- 7:46Speaker 1: the pandemic and log in for remote learning the first
- 7:51Speaker 1: day of school Wednesday. According to the district's current plan.
- 7:54Speaker 1: They claim it's about air conditioning, not economics. But if
- 7:59Speaker 1: you look at the internal emails have been sent out
- 8:01Speaker 1: to teachers, they're clearly lying to you about this. The
- 8:05Speaker 1: union has said, the striking points are about learning conditions
- 8:08Speaker 1: that parents have not complained about, and it's not about
- 8:12Speaker 1: the district and wanting to guarantee smaller class sizes or
- 8:17Speaker 1: more specialized teachers for art, music, and physical education and
- 8:21Speaker 1: elementary school. They say it's about functional heating and air
- 8:25Speaker 1: conditioning in the classrooms. They say they need more prep
- 8:29Speaker 1: time and a cap on the number of class periods
- 8:31Speaker 1: that they must teach during the school day. This according
- 8:35Speaker 1: to a statement from the union. So is it about
- 8:36Speaker 1: air conditioning. No, these scumbags on the left are lying
- 8:39Speaker 1: and holding your kids hostage. Which is exactly why I
- 8:43Speaker 1: go back to the issue of school choice. If this
- 8:47Speaker 1: is how they're going to teach your kids, are really
- 8:50Speaker 1: not teach your kids. This how they're going to treat
- 8:52Speaker 1: you and your children. Why wouldn't every parent America be
- 8:55Speaker 1: in favor of school choice. Appearing on CNN by the way,
- 9:00Speaker 1: from Columbus this week, the Columbus Education Association member and
- 9:04Speaker 1: liberal media specialists Courtney Johnson. That's how she described herself.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Talked about the strike and argue the teachers are focusing
- 9:12Speaker 1: on work conditions, not economics, saying, quote, our Columbus City
- 9:16Speaker 1: school students deserve a commitment to modern schools with properly
- 9:20Speaker 1: working heating and air conditioning and smaller class sizes and
- 9:24Speaker 1: art and music and pe. Again, this is a billboard
- 9:28Speaker 1: campaign for them, right, stand with us, the teachers. We
- 9:31Speaker 1: just want air conditioning for your kids, even though there's
- 9:33Speaker 1: no argue that there's no big outage of air conditioning
- 9:37Speaker 1: or heating units. Right, the teachers union has never made
- 9:41Speaker 1: this they say about economics. In fact, she said the
- 9:44Speaker 1: school said schools there have been forced to close in
- 9:49Speaker 1: the past when air conditioners failed, and students in high
- 9:54Speaker 1: schools where she worked moved from hot rooms to cold rooms.
- 9:58Speaker 1: She said, you can imagine how hard is to learn
- 10:00Speaker 1: a classroom that's freezing cold or very hot. School board
- 10:04Speaker 1: wants to ask voters for more money, and the union
- 10:06Speaker 1: wants the board to use federal money. But really it's
- 10:09Speaker 1: about getting more money for less work. Is pay an issue? Well,
- 10:15Speaker 1: to lie to you on TV, but again from internal documents,
- 10:19Speaker 1: we know that pay is the issue. The district had
- 10:22Speaker 1: offered a three percent annual increase for three years. According
- 10:26Speaker 1: to local news reports, that's not enough because the union
- 10:29Speaker 1: is seeking an eight percent pay raise, something more in
- 10:32Speaker 1: line they claim with inflation. But hold on, inflation is
- 10:35Speaker 1: not happening. And I thought Biden at the White House
- 10:37Speaker 1: said there is no inflation. Didn't Joe Biden just say
- 10:40Speaker 1: zero percent inflation? Isn't isn't that what he said at
- 10:43Speaker 1: the White House? Isn't it Biden who said inflation is
- 10:48Speaker 1: at zero and said it over and over again, zero
- 10:51Speaker 1: right at zero, it's at zero percent? Right where at zero?
- 10:57Speaker 1: He even said recently Biden's say on inflation? He said, oh, well,
- 11:01Speaker 1: even if it happens, it's going to be temporary. I
- 11:03Speaker 1: tell you. So, when do you when can Americans expect
- 11:05Speaker 1: some relief from this sewering inflation? According to Nobel Lawrence fourteen,
- 11:10Speaker 1: um the contact me and a number of corporate leaders,
- 11:13Speaker 1: it's only to be able to start to taper off
- 11:15Speaker 1: as you go through this year, taper off through this year.
- 11:19Speaker 1: When did he say that? He said that in February
- 11:21Speaker 1: the eleventh, Right, and look at the date. Now, look
- 11:23Speaker 1: at where we are now right, But again he goes
- 11:25Speaker 1: back to zero. He says, these price increases are temporary,
- 11:29Speaker 1: not permanent. So why would you give eight percent raise?
- 11:31Speaker 1: As the teachers in the Liberal party, if you're a
- 11:34Speaker 1: liberal leader, you're god. Joe Biden is telling you it's temporary.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Our experts believe in the data shows that most of
- 11:41Speaker 1: the price increases we've seen aren't. We're expected and I
- 11:45Speaker 1: expected to be temporary. There you go, expected, expected to
- 11:49Speaker 1: be temporary, not a big deal, All right, So then
- 11:51Speaker 1: why doesn't the school board just look at them and
- 11:54Speaker 1: say the present said it's temporary, why do you need
- 11:56Speaker 1: an eight percent raise? It's not clear the way from
- 12:00Speaker 1: the recent reporting where the paid disagreement between the board
- 12:02Speaker 1: and the union landed, and in Philadelphia there's another strike
- 12:06Speaker 1: threatening to start the school there, but it's not teachers
- 12:09Speaker 1: who are involved and said, it's employees represent under a
- 12:12Speaker 1: contract with the union bus drivers. How do you start
- 12:16Speaker 1: school if the kids aren't at school? Bus attendance, bus mechanics,
- 12:20Speaker 1: building cleaners, building engineers, and trade workers are all saying
- 12:23Speaker 1: we're going on strike, holding your kids hostage right before
- 12:27Speaker 1: school starts. We didn't do it in the summertime. No,
- 12:29Speaker 1: we're doing it right now on purpose because we don't
- 12:31Speaker 1: give a crap about actually educating your children. We just
- 12:36Speaker 1: don't want to work very hard and we want to
- 12:40Speaker 1: get paid a lot of money. So let's go back
- 12:44Speaker 1: to the overall idea right now, school choice. School choice
- 12:49Speaker 1: has become a very big issue, especially after parents were
- 12:54Speaker 1: able to see what their kids were being indoctrinated with
- 12:56Speaker 1: not being taught right in school in COVID in the
- 13:00Speaker 1: lockdowns when they were doing remote learning. You've got parents
- 13:06Speaker 1: now that have been activated that we're not paying attention,
- 13:11Speaker 1: and now they are. They're realizing how radical and how
- 13:15Speaker 1: extreme these school boards have become in this country. You
- 13:20Speaker 1: look at something else that just happened, and let's just
- 13:23Speaker 1: talk about schools for a moment here, and just how
- 13:27Speaker 1: shady the schools are. Look at what just happened on
- 13:30Speaker 1: the issue of race. You may not realize this, but
- 13:33Speaker 1: there's a new endorsement from a school district to lay
- 13:36Speaker 1: off white teachers first. Yeah, white teachers are the ones
- 13:42Speaker 1: they say that should go first in this country because
- 13:46Speaker 1: they don't deserve to have job security. And if you
- 13:50Speaker 1: are laying off white teachers, then at least you're protecting
- 13:54Speaker 1: the minority teachers, and it should be the white teachers
- 13:58Speaker 1: that you get laid off, because that's a good thing, right,
- 14:00Speaker 1: lay them off? Where do they say this? In Minneapolis,
- 14:04Speaker 1: the same place where they just had all of these
- 14:07Speaker 1: walkouts and are holding your kids hostage. A Minneapolis school
- 14:12Speaker 1: district is now defending their plan. This is racism to
- 14:16Speaker 1: lay off white teachers. First, imagine how they're what they're
- 14:19Speaker 1: teaching your kids. The Minneapolis Public Schools defending its deal
- 14:24Speaker 1: with the teachers Union to lay off white educators ahead
- 14:28Speaker 1: of their less senior minority colleagues, arguing that is a
- 14:32Speaker 1: necessary measure to remedy quote the effects of past discrimination.
- 14:38Speaker 1: This is reparations, folks. The school district released a statement
- 14:42Speaker 1: to The Washington Times today offering a full throw to
- 14:45Speaker 1: defense of the groundbreaking deal with the Teachers Union in Minneapolis,
- 14:50Speaker 1: led by their president BRETA. Callahan, quote, to remedy the
- 14:55Speaker 1: continuing effects of past discrimination. Minneapolis Public Schools and the
- 15:00Speaker 1: Minneapolis Federation of Teachers mutually agreed to contract language that
- 15:06Speaker 1: aims to support the recruitment and retention of teachers from
- 15:11Speaker 1: underrepresented groups as compared to the labor market into the
- 15:16Speaker 1: community served by the school district. The district said in
- 15:19Speaker 1: an email, in other words, if you're in a minority
- 15:21Speaker 1: district that's a lot of Hispanics or Asians or white
- 15:23Speaker 1: are African Americans, We're going to discriminate against hiring qualified
- 15:28Speaker 1: teachers if they're the wrong race. Right, That's what we'll
- 15:32Speaker 1: do now. It was previously reported that the terms of
- 15:36Speaker 1: the labor contract were to protect underrepresented population and keep
- 15:41Speaker 1: the district predominantly white staff from having more power. I'm
- 15:47Speaker 1: not joking. This is what they're doing. Are they educating
- 15:49Speaker 1: your kids? Know? They're now firing people based on the
- 15:52Speaker 1: color of their skin. Under the new agreement between the
- 15:56Speaker 1: Minneapolis School District and the Teachers Union, minority instructors quote
- 16:01Speaker 1: may be exempt from district wide layoffs outside of the
- 16:06Speaker 1: seniority Order, according to the Minneapolis News Why. The language
- 16:12Speaker 1: of the contract reportedly states, quote, starting with the spring
- 16:16Speaker 1: twenty twenty three budget tie out cycle, if accessing reducing
- 16:22Speaker 1: a teacher who is a member of a population underrepresented
- 16:27Speaker 1: underrepresented among licensed teachers in the site, the district shall
- 16:32Speaker 1: excess the next least senior teacher who is not a
- 16:37Speaker 1: member of an underrepresented population. Translation, get rid of the
- 16:40Speaker 1: white teacher, no matter how good she is, or no
- 16:42Speaker 1: matter how good he is, before you lay off anybody
- 16:45Speaker 1: that's a minority. The agreement, which was reached this summer
- 16:49Speaker 1: in the wake of a two week teacher strike, has
- 16:52Speaker 1: been labeled illegal and unconstitutional by many critics. James Dickey,
- 16:58Speaker 1: senior trial counsel with the Upper Midwest Law Center, said
- 17:02Speaker 1: openly discriminating against white teachers based only on the color
- 17:06Speaker 1: of their skin and not their seniority or merit is illegal.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Minneapolis Star Tribune report in June that sixteen percent of
- 17:16Speaker 1: the district's tenured teachers and twenty seven percent of its
- 17:21Speaker 1: probationary teachers were people of color. Many politicians and activist parents. Now,
- 17:29Speaker 1: conservative activists are condemning the new teachers contracts as straight
- 17:33Speaker 1: out racist. Minnieappolis state representative Jeremy Munson wrote on his
- 17:39Speaker 1: Facebook page saying, quote, the Minniappolis Teachers Union has taken
- 17:42Speaker 1: a racist approach and agreed to protect your job based
- 17:46Speaker 1: on your skin color, over your job performance and or seniority,
- 17:50Speaker 1: meaning how long you've been serving the public school district.
- 17:54Speaker 1: He said, I don't know who needs to hear this,
- 17:56Speaker 1: but racist employment contracts have no play send our society.
- 18:01Speaker 1: They don't care because this is the Democratic Party. They
- 18:05Speaker 1: don't care about your kids, they don't care about your
- 18:08Speaker 1: kids education, and they don't care if an amazing, unbelievable
- 18:12Speaker 1: teacher gets fired as long as they're white. Heritage Foundation
- 18:17Speaker 1: fellow Jonathan Butcher said to Fox News that Minneapolis contract
- 18:22Speaker 1: not only does it violate the Civil Rights Act and
- 18:25Speaker 1: the Equal Protection Clause of the US Constitution, but they're
- 18:28Speaker 1: doing it knowing that it is racist. They said. The
- 18:31Speaker 1: Civil Rights Act prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex,
- 18:37Speaker 1: and national origin. Yet the Justice Department has not stepped
- 18:42Speaker 1: in to stop this. Minneapolis Federation of Teachers president Greta
- 18:48Speaker 1: Callahan led the strike in the spring and helped orchestrate
- 18:52Speaker 1: the deal with the district to mandate white teachers get fired.
- 18:55Speaker 1: First think is I think political posturing is what one
- 19:00Speaker 1: elected officials said on the race based approach to teachers layoff.
- 19:04Speaker 1: It's not dealing with the most important issue, which is
- 19:06Speaker 1: helping students right now with math and reading. Former Wisconsin
- 19:11Speaker 1: Governor Scott Walker, who famously went to war with teachers
- 19:14Speaker 1: unions in his states slam the agreement as both racial
- 19:18Speaker 1: and illegal. He said, this is another example why government
- 19:22Speaker 1: unions should be eliminated. But they're winning, and the unions
- 19:27Speaker 1: are realizing right now that they have an audience in
- 19:29Speaker 1: the Democratic Party that will allow them to do illegal
- 19:33Speaker 1: and racist hiring practices, because if the DAJ won't step
- 19:37Speaker 1: in and stop this, then you can get away with it,
- 19:41Speaker 1: and there will be white teachers that are fired who
- 19:44Speaker 1: do an amazing job just because they are white and
- 19:50Speaker 1: the wrong race. Now, let's go back to school choice
- 19:54Speaker 1: in what I was saying a moment ago about this.
- 19:57Speaker 1: If you want to know why it's and so important
- 19:59Speaker 1: on the issue a school choice, this is exactly why
- 20:03Speaker 1: school choice is going to give the power back the people.
- 20:06Speaker 1: And the unions know that this is a problem for them,
- 20:10Speaker 1: and that's why they're doing what they're doing right now.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Let me remind you of what Donald Trump said back
- 20:15Speaker 1: in twenty twenty as he was a huge advocate for
- 20:17Speaker 1: school choice at the White House. At the heart of
- 20:20Speaker 1: our strategy to create a prosperous future for every Hispanic
- 20:24Speaker 1: American as well as all Americans, is a great family
- 20:29Speaker 1: of education. We are going to have a tremendous program
- 20:33Speaker 1: and we have and you know, we're a believer in choice. Choice.
- 20:37Speaker 1: The other folks don't believe in choice, and choice is
- 20:39Speaker 1: a great civil rights issue and maybe the great one
- 20:43Speaker 1: of our times. I'm going to fight to ensure that
- 20:46Speaker 1: every Hispanic American parent has the freedom and the right
- 20:50Speaker 1: to send your child to the public, private, charter, faith based,
- 20:54Speaker 1: magnet home or independent school of your choice. The school
- 21:01Speaker 1: of your choice. Giving taxpayers the right to decide where
- 21:07Speaker 1: to put your kid in school is what America should
- 21:12Speaker 1: be about. We should make sure that we always give
- 21:17Speaker 1: parents the best opportunity to give their kids the best
- 21:20Speaker 1: education possible. That's what we need here. The NBA is
- 21:26Speaker 1: racist for opposing school choice, and they are racist for
- 21:31Speaker 1: advocating supporting the firing of white teachers. First and foremost,
- 21:36Speaker 1: Betsy de Vos said parents need to have control, as
- 21:40Speaker 1: she put it, over a school choice. She said, this
- 21:43Speaker 1: is important for the future of our country and for
- 21:46Speaker 1: our kids. But we'll see where it is. It's very interesting,
- 21:49Speaker 1: you know, with regard to the loss of learning that
- 21:51Speaker 1: you and I have talked about a lot. It's tragic
- 21:53Speaker 1: what happened during COVID and the Studies are now out
- 21:56Speaker 1: that show that students who were forced to learn at
- 21:59Speaker 1: home are in the worst shape. Those who had more
- 22:01Speaker 1: exposure to actual school are in better shape. But look
- 22:04Speaker 1: at these numbers of students who scored proficient or above
- 22:07Speaker 1: in math. That number dropped fourteen percent in math and
- 22:11Speaker 1: six percent in language arts. Betsy, and I was so
- 22:15Speaker 1: struck by this. You know, in this environment, you have
- 22:17Speaker 1: some schools that have now announced that they're going to
- 22:19Speaker 1: close on Fridays and be remote just because it's I
- 22:23Speaker 1: guess nice to be home on that day of the week.
- 22:26Speaker 1: They took all of Thanksgiving off in a couple of
- 22:29Speaker 1: these school systems when they should shouldn't they be in
- 22:31Speaker 1: a position where they're adding hours to make up for
- 22:34Speaker 1: what was lost. Now, absolutely, I mean the results are
- 22:37Speaker 1: tragic and we're only beginning to understand the full depth
- 22:43Speaker 1: of the problem. Defensive Freedom Institute did a study of
- 22:47Speaker 1: the twelve largest school districts and not surprisingly, the ones
- 22:51Speaker 1: with the strongest unions are the ones that kept kids
- 22:55Speaker 1: out of school the longest. They're the ones where the
- 22:57Speaker 1: kids needed to be in school the most, absolutely, and
- 23:01Speaker 1: they were They're the ones, you know, you cited the
- 23:04Speaker 1: learning loss averages. But the reality is the kids at
- 23:08Speaker 1: the bottom end of the spectrum were hit far worse
- 23:11Speaker 1: than those numbers even relate. And we're again, we're only
- 23:15Speaker 1: beginning to see the real results of this. And it's
- 23:19Speaker 1: unconscionable to me that any any district, or any teachers
- 23:24Speaker 1: union would be advocating for taking more time off and
- 23:27Speaker 1: distance learning when there is no reason to be doing it.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Kids need to be in their classrooms, they need to
- 23:33Speaker 1: be in with their teachers, they need to have that
- 23:37Speaker 1: hands on learning time. And the ones who have been
- 23:40Speaker 1: hurt most are the ones who are going to pay
- 23:42Speaker 1: the price the longest. Former Secretary of Education Education Secretary
- 23:47Speaker 1: Betsy Devas saying this, and this is becoming also a
- 23:50Speaker 1: new trend around the country right that they say, all right,
- 23:54Speaker 1: screw it, we just won't teach in school on Fridays.
- 23:56Speaker 1: We'll take it. We'll take a three day weekend every weekend.
- 24:00Speaker 1: You think any of these teachers really care that are
- 24:02Speaker 1: advocating for these union policies, You think any of these
- 24:05Speaker 1: teachers give a crap about your kid's future. I think
- 24:09Speaker 1: it's pretty clear they don't care about your kid's future.
- 24:14Speaker 1: They don't care about your kid's future, They care about
- 24:16Speaker 1: getting paid, and they care about making sure that you,
- 24:18Speaker 1: as a parent or silence, that you were shut down,
- 24:21Speaker 1: that you were labeled a domestic terrorists. If you ever
- 24:22Speaker 1: ask him any questions or ask him any tough questions,
- 24:25Speaker 1: you are a domestic terrorists. That's what you are, and
- 24:29Speaker 1: that's what they're going to continue to do. School choice
- 24:33Speaker 1: should definitely be a midterm election issue, and as the
- 24:38Speaker 1: President has gone back out and started to do more
- 24:41Speaker 1: and more of his big events, his Save America events,
- 24:44Speaker 1: he has been talking about this, slamming Democrats for their
- 24:48Speaker 1: radical school agenda and calling for the return of not
- 24:52Speaker 1: only parent rights but also parental choice. And other conservatives
- 24:57Speaker 1: should take note of this and realize this this is
- 25:00Speaker 1: a winning issue because parents don't like being held hostage,
- 25:03Speaker 1: they don't like being referred to as domestic terrorists, and
- 25:06Speaker 1: they don't like getting ready for the first day of
- 25:08Speaker 1: school and then having lies be told them, like oh,
- 25:11Speaker 1: we can't send your kids back to school because of
- 25:13Speaker 1: air conditioning, when it's not even an issue. Irreversible harm
- 25:17Speaker 1: that Democrat politicians did to our young people is unforgivable,
- 25:23Speaker 1: and American voters will punish them at the ballot box
- 25:28Speaker 1: this November. Despite all your hearing and seeing of China
- 25:33Speaker 1: and Russia and Iran and others, our biggest danger is
- 25:37Speaker 1: not from outside coming in. Our biggest single danger is
- 25:42Speaker 1: from the sick and radical politicians that are knowingly or
- 25:47Speaker 1: unknowingly wanting to destroy our country. Our biggest danger is
- 25:57Speaker 1: from within. I believe that as friends. Then I was
- 26:00Speaker 1: proud to sign the world's first band on critical race theory.
- 26:09Speaker 1: The Biden administration resended that order. But when we retake Congress,
- 26:13Speaker 1: Republicans will ban the critical race theory in our schools,
- 26:18Speaker 1: bannit in our military, banit in every part of federal,
- 26:22Speaker 1: state and local governments, just like I did. It was
- 26:26Speaker 1: fully banned before. In addition, a Republican Congress must stand
- 26:32Speaker 1: up for parental rights and parental choice. I think that's
- 26:35Speaker 1: a good idea. No teachers should ever be allowed to
- 26:40Speaker 1: teach far left gender theories to our children without parental consent.
- 26:47Speaker 1: It's truly child abuse, playing and simple. By replacing reading
- 26:54Speaker 1: in math with pronouns and gender studies, our government run
- 26:57Speaker 1: education system has four fitted the trust of American parents,
- 27:02Speaker 1: and they they really really have Every mom and dad
- 27:06Speaker 1: in America must be given the right to opt out
- 27:09Speaker 1: of the indoctrination and send their child to the public, private, charter,
- 27:15Speaker 1: or religious school of their choice. After door last week,
- 27:23Speaker 1: the Biden administrations send Congress they budget crammed with billions
- 27:27Speaker 1: and billions of dollars of transgenderism and so called equity
- 27:33Speaker 1: provisions that are nothing more than government sponsored racism. The
- 27:39Speaker 1: Republican Congress will end the woke war on women and children.
- 27:44Speaker 1: We will stop illegal government discrimination. We will restore the
- 27:50Speaker 1: sacred American principle of equality under the law, and we
- 27:58Speaker 1: will while we're at it, demand justice for the January
- 28:02Speaker 1: six prisoners and full protection of their civil rights. Life
- 28:07Speaker 1: was received by Antifa and black Lives about her who
- 28:12Speaker 1: murdered people throughout our country. This is how you win.
- 28:20Speaker 1: It's how you win parents over. You explain to parents
- 28:23Speaker 1: how important this fight actually is. You explain to parents
- 28:27Speaker 1: how important it is that you don't back down when
- 28:30Speaker 1: things like this happen. You explain to parents that this
- 28:33Speaker 1: is something that we are not willing to negotiate on.
- 28:36Speaker 1: You explain to parents, this is your right to give
- 28:38Speaker 1: your kids a good education. This to me, is all
- 28:43Speaker 1: about giving your kids a quality education. That's what this is.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Giving your kids a quality education. That's your right, especially
- 28:56Speaker 1: when you're the one paying for it, right. This is
- 28:59Speaker 1: your right as a parent, This is your rights as
- 29:04Speaker 1: a family to when you're paying taxes to say I'm
- 29:08Speaker 1: going to give my kids the best education that i
- 29:11Speaker 1: can possibly give them. Why should you be held hostage
- 29:16Speaker 1: by these people that, by the way, do not care
- 29:19Speaker 1: about your children. They don't care, folks, they never have.
- 29:26Speaker 1: They'll do anything they can right now to screw you.
- 29:29Speaker 1: They'll do anything they can right now to make sure
- 29:31Speaker 1: that you're unhappy. They will do everything that they can
- 29:36Speaker 1: to make sure that your children are owned like property
- 29:41Speaker 1: where they can indoctrinate your children. Right, this is what
- 29:45Speaker 1: they want to do. They want to indoctrinate your children.
- 29:49Speaker 1: That's all this is is indoctrination. They don't want you
- 29:54Speaker 1: to tell them what they what you can and cannot
- 29:58Speaker 1: do this. This is why they refer to you as
- 30:01Speaker 1: domestic terrorists. Remember when in the in the debate, remember
- 30:07Speaker 1: the debate where all of this kind of came to
- 30:10Speaker 1: a head. In Virginia. It's a it's a it's a district.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Virginia is more of a kind of moderate to liberal state.
- 30:17Speaker 1: It's hard for Republicans to win. There. You had the
- 30:20Speaker 1: former Democratic National Committee chairman Terry mccaulliffe, who had all
- 30:25Speaker 1: the money of all the big donors behind him. He
- 30:27Speaker 1: was the guy right the shoe in, and the question
- 30:31Speaker 1: was asked, right, should protections for transgender students be statewide
- 30:36Speaker 1: or determined locally? And then that went into parents involvement
- 30:40Speaker 1: in school and this is when they were trying to
- 30:42Speaker 1: push all the transgender bathrooms on everybody. I want you
- 30:46Speaker 1: to remind you this is and this is the head
- 30:48Speaker 1: of the Democratic Party, former head. So this is I
- 30:51Speaker 1: think it's fair to say the mindset of the Democratic
- 30:53Speaker 1: Party on you as parents. Virtual books, Glenn, not to
- 30:57Speaker 1: be knowledge about it, also take them off the shelves.
- 30:59Speaker 1: And I'm not going to let parents come into schools
- 31:02Speaker 1: and actually take books out and make their own decisions.
- 31:06Speaker 1: So yeah, stop the bill that I don't think parents
- 31:10Speaker 1: should be telling schools what they should teach good. I
- 31:13Speaker 1: don't think parents should be telling kids what to teach,
- 31:16Speaker 1: telling schools to teach kids. Listen again, stop the bill
- 31:19Speaker 1: that I don't think parents should be telling schools what
- 31:21Speaker 1: they should teach. Good what they should teach kids, right,
- 31:25Speaker 1: They need to shut up. They need to shut up
- 31:28Speaker 1: and sit down. They need to be silent. Biden's Secretary
- 31:33Speaker 1: of Education Miguel Cardona recently said he's quote concerned, and
- 31:38Speaker 1: this is as it came out that they were labeling
- 31:40Speaker 1: parents domestic terrorists, about parents quote holding schools accountable for
- 31:44Speaker 1: what they're doing with your kids. Concerned because you can't
- 31:48Speaker 1: have an opinion. And we are concerned with some of
- 31:50Speaker 1: the policies that are less curriculum, more about division, more
- 31:54Speaker 1: about bringing politics into the schools. They said at the onset,
- 31:58Speaker 1: our schools should not be the place for cultural wars.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Our parents want our children to recover from what was
- 32:04Speaker 1: missed during the pandemic for the misconstruction. They want the
- 32:07Speaker 1: mental health needs of their students cared for. I love
- 32:10Speaker 1: how now they're admitting that everything that they were doing
- 32:14Speaker 1: during the COVID lockdowns hurt the kids. You know, it's like,
- 32:16Speaker 1: we don't want to talk about this, we don't want
- 32:18Speaker 1: parents involved. We're trying to get your kid caught up. Okay,
- 32:20Speaker 1: so shut up. The by education secretary also would not
- 32:24Speaker 1: say when he was testifying recently, he won't say if
- 32:28Speaker 1: schools should tell parents about their child changing their gender.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Do you believe that sugistrates should keep a child's involvement
- 32:37Speaker 1: and gender transition a secret from their parents? So I
- 32:44Speaker 1: would love to answer questions on the budget, which is
- 32:46Speaker 1: why I'm here, and I think what I'm saying, these
- 32:50Speaker 1: are policies that your administration and stands me, and you're
- 32:52Speaker 1: asking me to fund your budget, and these are policies
- 32:55Speaker 1: that you stand for. It's completely irrelevant to why you're
- 32:59Speaker 1: here today. Simple question. Yeah, answer the question. Do you
- 33:02Speaker 1: think the schools should keep it a secret from their
- 33:04Speaker 1: parents if their children are involved in gender or Transitionarents? Listen,
- 33:09Speaker 1: parents and schools must work together to support students, and
- 33:12Speaker 1: I do strongly support and if you look through the
- 33:15Speaker 1: work that we've supported in our policies and our practices,
- 33:19Speaker 1: we want parents schools ever keep that a secret from parents?
- 33:22Speaker 1: Excuse me? Should schools ever keep it a secret from
- 33:26Speaker 1: parents if their children are involved in gender transition? Schools
- 33:31Speaker 1: should always be more secret from parents. Schools should be
- 33:34Speaker 1: partnering with parents in communication, and there are times where
- 33:37Speaker 1: schools are working and supporting students on issues that are
- 33:41Speaker 1: very sensitive. But I do believe that parents should be
- 33:44Speaker 1: connected with schools and in many cases working together. What's
- 33:49Speaker 1: going to help the student. I have spoken to students
- 33:52Speaker 1: who've shared whatever situation is at the home that they
- 33:56Speaker 1: felt safe at the school, and we have to be
- 33:58Speaker 1: careful not to try to turn this into something that
- 34:02Speaker 1: it's not. Our schools are safe places for our students,
- 34:05Speaker 1: and our teachers are off in the front liners when
- 34:07Speaker 1: it comes to supporting students when they have issues in
- 34:10Speaker 1: their lives. So to be clear, your kids aren't safe
- 34:13Speaker 1: in your homes, but they're safe in our schools. Your
- 34:17Speaker 1: kids may not want to tell you that they're transitioning,
- 34:19Speaker 1: but will help them transition, and we will keep it
- 34:22Speaker 1: a secret from you. This is why we have to
- 34:26Speaker 1: advocate for school choice and the only way to get
- 34:29Speaker 1: rid of these radicals is to defund them and take
- 34:31Speaker 1: your kids out of their schools and put them in
- 34:34Speaker 1: schools where they're actually getting a quality education. This needs
- 34:38Speaker 1: to be a core issue in the midterm elections and
- 34:41Speaker 1: parents need to wake up. Parents need to stand up.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Parents need to realize what's happening to your kids and
- 34:47Speaker 1: don't look the other way all right. Lastly, please make
