- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, the White House is at it again telling
- 0:02Speaker 1: you that if you want to go out there and
- 0:04Speaker 1: enjoy the holidays, you better get boosted, you better get vaccinated.
- 0:08Speaker 1: That's the only way to have a safe holiday from
- 0:11Speaker 1: COVID joining us now is the man stating there next
- 0:15Speaker 1: to doctor Fauci, White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, Doctor Hi's
- 0:18Speaker 1: jaw Ian felt your bot there that briefing is we
- 0:20Speaker 1: noted in doctor jaw When it comes to these boosters,
- 0:24Speaker 1: I know that you were in a booster push right now.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Ss Betsy Kline was reporting on this yesterday. But when
- 0:28Speaker 1: it comes to this push, people want to know how
- 0:30Speaker 1: long this protection is going to last with these new boosters.
- 0:33Speaker 1: What can you tell them? Yeah, so good morning, and
- 0:36Speaker 1: first of all, thanks for having me back. Here's what
- 0:38Speaker 1: we know. We know that these new updated vaccines are
- 0:41Speaker 1: far superior to the prior vaccine that we had. And
- 0:44Speaker 1: it makes a lot of sense, right because these new
- 0:46Speaker 1: vaccines target the version of omicronbat's out there. So that's
- 0:49Speaker 1: sort of fact number one. Fact number two that we
- 0:51Speaker 1: know is that if people are up to date on
- 0:53Speaker 1: their vaccines, they don't end up in the hospital. They
- 0:56Speaker 1: don't end up dying, specially if they get treated, if
- 0:58Speaker 1: they have a breakthrough infections. So we're now at a
- 1:00Speaker 1: point where we can protect people from serious illness. And
- 1:04Speaker 1: you know how long are these things gonna last. Well,
- 1:06Speaker 1: the benefit, certainly for a majority of people from serious illness,
- 1:09Speaker 1: should probably last it close to a whole year. For
- 1:12Speaker 1: some high risk people they might last a little bit
- 1:15Speaker 1: less time. We may need to do something else for
- 1:17Speaker 1: the highest risk people, maybe later in the spring or summer.
- 1:20Speaker 1: But if you want to get through the holidays safely,
- 1:22Speaker 1: if you want to avoid getting really sick during the holidays,
- 1:24Speaker 1: this is the single most important thing that you can do.
- 1:27Speaker 1: But that plan and your outlook for the holidays really
- 1:30Speaker 1: relies on people getting the boosters. So far, only thirty
- 1:32Speaker 1: five million people in the US have gotten one of
- 1:34Speaker 1: those revised shots. They really want you to get it.
- 1:38Speaker 1: You need to stop what you're doing for the holidays
- 1:42Speaker 1: and you need to get boosted folks. Now, why are
- 1:45Speaker 1: they coming out saying this. They're saying it because they
- 1:50Speaker 1: need you to believe it. White House COVID coordinator also
- 1:53Speaker 1: said COVID and the flu vaccines are terrific. They're not
- 1:57Speaker 1: one hundred percent at preventing infection, but they're going to
- 1:59Speaker 1: prevent you from getting seriously ill, so you need to
- 2:02Speaker 1: do it to protect grammar, I have nothing. I got
- 2:05Speaker 1: a question for you when it comes to the question
- 2:08Speaker 1: of the confluence of all three of these. If someone
- 2:10Speaker 1: gets the flu and then a week or two later
- 2:13Speaker 1: gets COVID, does that make their case of COVID more severe? Well,
- 2:17Speaker 1: it's a really good question. I mean, we have seen coinfections. Thankfully,
- 2:21Speaker 1: they're not very common, but obviously, you know, flu can
- 2:24Speaker 1: really knock you down, and if you're still recovering from
- 2:26Speaker 1: the flu and then get another infection on top of that,
- 2:29Speaker 1: it certainly makes it much much harder. So yeah, absolutely,
- 2:33Speaker 1: the key here is to try to avoid these things
- 2:35Speaker 1: if you're going to get infected. If you look, these
- 2:37Speaker 1: vaccines are terrific. They're not one hundred percent of preventing infection,
- 2:40Speaker 1: but they are going to prevent you from getting seriously ill.
- 2:42Speaker 1: So even if you get the flu or COVID, if
- 2:44Speaker 1: you've been vaccinated, you're going to have a much much
- 2:46Speaker 1: easier time. So you're not seeing a lot of cases
- 2:49Speaker 1: where people are having that combination. Not yet, not yet,
- 2:53Speaker 1: And I'm hopeful that we will not. I mean, look,
- 2:55Speaker 1: it can happen. We've seen it with other viruses where
- 2:57Speaker 1: you can get co infection, but we're obviously hopeful that
- 3:00Speaker 1: that's not going to become a major problem. Yeah, of course, big,
- 3:03Speaker 1: big concern. And I know you said, yes, say. A
- 3:05Speaker 1: lot of the reason that people are getting more FLEW
- 3:06Speaker 1: more RC is because they've been protected from those mitigation
- 3:09Speaker 1: measures that we've seen it for the past few years.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Doctor Jean is always thank you for answering our questions
- 3:14Speaker 1: this morning, and we hope you have a great Thanksgiving.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Thank you you guys. Still good thing there, it is.
- 3:18Speaker 1: You gotta if you want to go get Thanksgiving or Christmas,
- 3:20Speaker 1: you gotta go get vaccinate. That's the only safe way
- 3:22Speaker 1: to do this now. And without you guys doing this,
- 3:26Speaker 1: then then there's going to be real problems. You know,
- 3:29Speaker 1: Doctor Fauci was out there yesterday really pushing this still
- 3:35Speaker 1: sounding like it was twenty twenty two, or excuse me,
- 3:39Speaker 1: like twenty twenty instead of twenty twenty two. Hannity made
- 3:43Speaker 1: a great point about this last night. Take a listen,
- 3:46Speaker 1: all right, that's the White House today. Finally, doctor Anthony
- 3:49Speaker 1: Fauci gave what was billed as his final briefing from
- 3:53Speaker 1: the White House Podium, and if you watched it, you
- 3:55Speaker 1: might have thought that the year is twenty twenty. Take
- 3:57Speaker 1: a look. Everybody should be back and ate it and
- 4:00Speaker 1: boosted with flu and with COVID. Whether or not you
- 4:04Speaker 1: wear a mask or Another thing we shouldn't underestimate is testing.
- 4:10Speaker 1: So when we're gathering at a family gathering for Thanksgiving,
- 4:14Speaker 1: or for Christmas, or for any other holiday, as we
- 4:17Speaker 1: get into the winter, it makes sense that you might
- 4:19Speaker 1: want to get a test that day before you come
- 4:22Speaker 1: into a place. I know sometimes when you walk in
- 4:25Speaker 1: and you have a mask and nobody has a mask,
- 4:27Speaker 1: you kind of feel guilty. You shouldn't feel guilty. You
- 4:29Speaker 1: look terrific. My message and my final message, maybe the
- 4:33Speaker 1: final message I give you from this podium is that please,
- 4:37Speaker 1: for your own safety for that of your family, get
- 4:40Speaker 1: your updated COVID nineteen shot as soon as you're eligible.
- 4:45Speaker 1: There's the guy that said masks don't work, and then
- 4:47Speaker 1: said one mask and two masks, and masks maybe in perpetuity.
- 4:52Speaker 1: A guy that said if you get the vaccine, you're
- 4:54Speaker 1: never gonna get COVID or things really went off the
- 4:57Speaker 1: rails when a reporter from the Daily Call or try
- 4:59Speaker 1: to asked Fauci about the origins of COVID nineteen Karine
- 5:03Speaker 1: Jean Pierre didn't appreciate the question, and well, all hell
- 5:07Speaker 1: broke loose. Take a look on a second, we have
- 5:15Speaker 1: a process here. I'm not calling out on people who
- 5:19Speaker 1: yell and you're being you're being you're being disrespectful to
- 5:22Speaker 1: your colleagues, and you're being disrespectful to our guests. I
- 5:25Speaker 1: will not call on you if you yell. She has question.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I hear the question. I hear your question. But we're
- 5:38Speaker 1: not doing this the way you want it. This is
- 5:40Speaker 1: the disrespectful it is. I'm done, Simon, I'm done. I'm simon,
- 5:45Speaker 1: I'm done. I'm done with you right now. You're done
- 5:49Speaker 1: canceled anyway, Well, Fauci is retiring at the end of
- 5:52Speaker 1: the year after decades of high paying government service. He
- 5:55Speaker 1: was still aft to face House Republicans for questioning in
- 5:58Speaker 1: the new year, so you'd better get ready to testify.
- 6:01Speaker 1: They're not done yet anyway. Here with reaction, I love
- 6:04Speaker 1: this right like you've you've got this. We want to
- 6:07Speaker 1: ask a question about the origins of COVID she jumps in.
- 6:10Speaker 1: You can't yell. You're being rude, you're being disrespectful. You
- 6:14Speaker 1: can't have that. We can't have this conversation, right, that's
- 6:19Speaker 1: what you're doing. You don't understand. You're not allowed to
- 6:21Speaker 1: do these things. You're being rude and you're being disrespectful.
- 6:25Speaker 1: That's their line, rude and disrespectful. I'm done with you.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I'm done. Welcome to this White House. You have a
- 6:36Speaker 1: legitimate question to ask, we won't let you ask it.
- 6:40Speaker 1: You have a question to doctor Faucci this final briefing
- 6:43Speaker 1: about the origins of COVID. We won't allow you to
- 6:45Speaker 1: ask that question either. That's your White House, all right.
- 6:48Speaker 1: So we've got the full clip of the chaos that ensued,
- 6:54Speaker 1: and it was pretty interesting to hear at the White House.
- 6:58Speaker 1: This said doctor Faucci's last press conference. Okay, I'm going
- 7:04Speaker 1: to play for you part of this insanity just so
- 7:07Speaker 1: you can hear it again. This is the final White
- 7:10Speaker 1: House press conference for doctor fauc Jesi's leaving that position.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Take a listen. We have a process here. I'm not
- 7:24Speaker 1: calling out on people who yell and you're being you're
- 7:27Speaker 1: being you're being disrespectful to your colleagues, and you're being
- 7:30Speaker 1: disrespectful to our guests. I will not call on you
- 7:34Speaker 1: if you yell. And also you're taking time off the
- 7:37Speaker 1: clock because doctor Fouschi has to leave in a couple
- 7:39Speaker 1: of minutes. I'm done. I'm not going. I'm not getting
- 7:41Speaker 1: into a back and forth with you. God, Jeremy, doctor Fauchi. Jeremy,
- 7:57Speaker 1: it is not. It is not your turn. Is not
- 8:00Speaker 1: your turn? You can, you can press briefing. You need
- 8:06Speaker 1: to call from people across the room. She has a
- 8:09Speaker 1: valid question. She's asked about the origin of covie. I
- 8:12Speaker 1: hear the question. She's the best person. I hear your question.
- 8:16Speaker 1: But we're not doing this the way you want it.
- 8:18Speaker 1: This is the disrespect of it is. I'm done, Simon,
- 8:22Speaker 1: I'm done. I'm Simon, I'm done. I'm done with you
- 8:25Speaker 1: right now. Go ahead, go ahead, as doctors question a question,
- 8:36Speaker 1: you to answer, Jeremy, origin, it is not, It is
- 8:43Speaker 1: not your churn, is not your turn. You can, you
- 8:49Speaker 1: can press briefing. You need to call from people across
- 8:52Speaker 1: the room. She has a valid question. She's asked about
- 8:55Speaker 1: the origin of covie. I hear the question. She's the
- 8:58Speaker 1: best person. I hear your question. But we're not doing
- 9:01Speaker 1: this the way you want it. We're not doing this
- 9:04Speaker 1: the way you want it. Chaos the White House Press conference.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I'm done with you, White House Press secretary snaps attacks
- 9:14Speaker 1: reporter trying to question doctor Fauci on the origins of COVID.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I'm not doing this with you. You're not gonna get
- 9:25Speaker 1: what you want. I'm not gonna let him answer that question.
- 9:31Speaker 1: We have precious time. He must leave. This is doctor
- 9:34Speaker 1: Faucci's last White House Press conference, and this is how
- 9:37Speaker 1: it went. You could hear by the way the media.
- 9:40Speaker 1: You know, how dare you talk to us that way?
- 9:42Speaker 1: I do make I laugh because they have built up
- 9:48Speaker 1: these individuals. Jean Prayer, the White House Press scretary, they
- 9:52Speaker 1: built her up. They have turned her into this celebrity
- 9:58Speaker 1: the same way they did with a ask White House
- 10:00Speaker 1: Press secret Charry, and then they're shocked when they don't
- 10:05Speaker 1: get to ask a question, a tough question that they
- 10:07Speaker 1: want to ask. And not only do they are they shocked,
- 10:10Speaker 1: they literally freak out. They're like, well, hold on a second,
- 10:12Speaker 1: he's the best person to ask. The last press conference,
- 10:15Speaker 1: running out the clock, deal with it, and then we
- 10:18Speaker 1: will tell you to shut up, and we'll tell you
- 10:20Speaker 1: to sit down, and we'll tell you to be quiet,
- 10:23Speaker 1: because that's what we do in the White House Press Office.
- 10:27Speaker 1: We tell you to shut up, we tell you to
- 10:28Speaker 1: sit down, and we tell you to be quiet. That's
- 10:31Speaker 1: how we roll, folks, That's how we do things here.
- 10:36Speaker 1: How dare you think you get to actually ask real
- 10:38Speaker 1: questions or tough questions. We don't let that happen here.
- 10:42Speaker 1: We don't do that here. You know, do you know
- 10:46Speaker 1: who I am? That's basically what she's saying. Do you
- 10:48Speaker 1: do you have any idea who I am? You can't
- 10:51Speaker 1: just come in here and ask a question. This is
- 10:54Speaker 1: no disrespectful it is I'm done, Simon, I'm done. I'm simon,
- 10:59Speaker 1: I'm done. I'm done with you right now. Go ahead,
- 11:02Speaker 1: go ahead, go ahead. You're taking time away from your colleagues. Good.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I love how she tries to turn people against their
- 11:10Speaker 1: own colleague. You're taking time away from your colleagues. In
- 11:15Speaker 1: other words, she's looking at the room saying, you better
- 11:16Speaker 1: put you better get your boy in line, right, you
- 11:19Speaker 1: better get you better get your people in line. You
- 11:24Speaker 1: better shut up, and you better get them in line.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Because this is now where we are. Arizona Governor Elack
- 11:33Speaker 1: Kitty Hobbs has made it clear she is not happy
- 11:37Speaker 1: with Joe Biden on the border crisis issue, sounding like
- 11:42Speaker 1: a Republican this morning on CNN, not a Democrat. And
- 11:46Speaker 1: one of the big Arizona issues governor elected is the
- 11:49Speaker 1: border and immigration. And so when it comes to that,
- 11:52Speaker 1: what's your intent on that? Are you going to how
- 11:55Speaker 1: different is your border policy going to look from your predecessor,
- 11:59Speaker 1: from Doug Dooce, Are you going to reverse anything that
- 12:01Speaker 1: he did on that front? Well, look as at border state,
- 12:05Speaker 1: Arizona has certainly borne the brunt of decades of inaction
- 12:08Speaker 1: from both parties in Washington. We need real action on
- 12:11Speaker 1: immigration reform. We need real border security. But in the meantime,
- 12:16Speaker 1: I you know, a lot of things that that governor
- 12:18Speaker 1: duc has done, putting migrants on buses to Washington, DC,
- 12:23Speaker 1: placing shipping containers at the border are really political stunts
- 12:27Speaker 1: at the expense of taxpayer dollars, where we could really
- 12:30Speaker 1: be using those dollars where they're meaningful, providing meaningful relief
- 12:33Speaker 1: and border communities that are feeling the effects of crime
- 12:39Speaker 1: at the border. And I have a border plan that's
- 12:42Speaker 1: been endorsed by two border sheriffs. It's one of the
- 12:45Speaker 1: things at the top of my agenda to talk to
- 12:47Speaker 1: the president about in terms of bringing real security to
- 12:51Speaker 1: our state and the border. And on that front about
- 12:54Speaker 1: speaking to the president, do you want him to visit
- 12:56Speaker 1: the border? Do you think his administration is doing enough
- 12:58Speaker 1: when it comes to the border. I've said this, I
- 13:02Speaker 1: don't think they're doing enough. I would love to have
- 13:04Speaker 1: them visit and see firsthand the kind of support and
- 13:08Speaker 1: relief that folks in these communities need from the federal government.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Governor elect, do you have a message for your opponent
- 13:15Speaker 1: who is keeps spreading these election denial conspiracies? I love
- 13:21Speaker 1: how immediately she says this about the border not doing enough,
- 13:25Speaker 1: and then they're like, do you do you have anything
- 13:26Speaker 1: about the you know, election deniers? Right? That's that they
- 13:30Speaker 1: don't do a single follow up question. Instead, they go
- 13:33Speaker 1: into this, Governor elect, do you have a message for
- 13:36Speaker 1: your opponent who is keeps spreading these election denial conspiracies
- 13:42Speaker 1: much as you know the former president did. She's doing
- 13:46Speaker 1: it locally as he is doing it nationally. That has
- 13:49Speaker 1: to that will also affect how you govern and your
- 13:53Speaker 1: legislative agenda. I'm sure absolutely. I mean, look, I'm not
- 13:58Speaker 1: focused on what my my former opponent is doing. I'm
- 14:01Speaker 1: focused on all the things we need to do to
- 14:04Speaker 1: get ready to lead on day one of my administration.
- 14:07Speaker 1: But this kind of political rhetoric, these false accusations, they
- 14:12Speaker 1: need to stop because many people across the state of
- 14:15Speaker 1: Arizona and across the country are being misled by these
- 14:18Speaker 1: so called political leaders, and their rhetoric is dangerous and
- 14:21Speaker 1: it's leading to threats and violence, and it needs to stop.
- 14:25Speaker 1: More questions about that, then about the actual security at
- 14:29Speaker 1: the border, which is actually costing people their lives. They'll
- 14:33Speaker 1: go into the rhetoric they say is dangerous, right, that's
- 14:37Speaker 1: what they'll say. The real danger coming across the border,
- 14:41Speaker 1: the people that are dying from fetinal overdose, is the
- 14:43Speaker 1: people that are dying from the cartel members coming across
- 14:47Speaker 1: the border. Criminals, violent criminals coming across the border. One
- 14:51Speaker 1: question about that, right, move on quickly, don't ask any
- 14:54Speaker 1: more questions. Got to go as fast as we can.
- 14:57Speaker 1: We got to get back to the election. Deny our stuff,
- 14:59Speaker 1: because that's where the real story is. In fact, that's
- 15:02Speaker 1: where they went next let's talk about election deniers, right,
- 15:06Speaker 1: let's not talk about border safe. Do you know we'll
- 15:08Speaker 1: got election denial. Come back to Sanna this morning. Disturbing
- 15:11Speaker 1: news that we have learned, and that is that one
- 15:14Speaker 1: of the top election officials in Arizona's largest county was
- 15:17Speaker 1: taken to an undisclosed location on election day for his
- 15:20Speaker 1: own safety. The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Bill
- 15:24Speaker 1: Gates spent election night at a secure location under police
- 15:28Speaker 1: protection because of a specific threat made to him online.
- 15:31Speaker 1: He is still receiving increased security. Gates face, You've seen
- 15:35Speaker 1: a lot on this network as a Republican who first
- 15:37Speaker 1: gained notoriety for pushing back against Trump's election lie centered
- 15:41Speaker 1: on Arizona in twenty twenty. He has continued to refute
- 15:44Speaker 1: election lie spread by some of his fellow Republicans, including
- 15:48Speaker 1: the losing gubernatorial candidate in Arizona, Kerry Lake, joining us
- 15:52Speaker 1: now as Arizona Secretary of State and governor elect Katie
- 15:55Speaker 1: Hobbs Governor. Congratulations in good morning, Thank you, Good marnin
- 15:59Speaker 1: to you as well your reaction to this news that
- 16:01Speaker 1: we just learned about Republican you know, election official in
- 16:04Speaker 1: your state. Bill Gates. Yeah. I mean, I think Arizonans
- 16:09Speaker 1: and Americans sent a strong message to these election deniers
- 16:13Speaker 1: that were ready to move on. But unfortunately they are
- 16:16Speaker 1: still ginning up these attacks on uh, those responsible for
- 16:21Speaker 1: our elections based on their false allegations, and they're they're
- 16:27Speaker 1: basically just being a sore loser, and we cannot tolerate it.
- 16:32Speaker 1: This has to end. And um, you know, I think
- 16:34Speaker 1: we survived a lot in this last election. We um,
- 16:38Speaker 1: we helped save democracy, but it's not over and we
- 16:41Speaker 1: have to continue to be vigilant and hope the soops
- 16:43Speaker 1: accountable for their dangerous political rhetoric that is causing this
- 16:48Speaker 1: kind of threat. You have a wide open border election
- 16:52Speaker 1: and I they're focused on, right, that's number one. Then
- 16:58Speaker 1: they're focused on the rhetoric, then focused on the guy
- 17:01Speaker 1: going into hiding on election day. They're not focused on
- 17:04Speaker 1: all the people dying of fetnal, which means they don't care.
- 17:07Speaker 1: This is all political bs. That's all it is. It's
- 17:13Speaker 1: all political dbs, and everybody, by the way knows it.
- 17:21Speaker 1: But they sit there and they keep acting like, you know, Wow,
- 17:26Speaker 1: we've got these election deniers. We've got to really focus
- 17:29Speaker 1: on these election deniers, these election deniers, over and over again,
- 17:34Speaker 1: they're never going to let this go right because they
- 17:35Speaker 1: think that's the thing that seize on. They want the
- 17:38Speaker 1: world to believe this is their goal, this is their objective. Okay,
- 17:44Speaker 1: they want the world to believe that only Republicans are
- 17:49Speaker 1: the ones that refuse to concede elections. Democrats have been
- 17:55Speaker 1: saying Donald Trump was an illegitimate at present the entire
- 17:57Speaker 1: time that Donald Trump was there, never ever, ever, ever
- 18:02Speaker 1: ever forget that, never forget that. All right, real quick,
- 18:09Speaker 1: I want to tell you about my good friends over
- 18:10Speaker 1: at Legacy precious metals. With the economy really an inflation
- 18:14Speaker 1: out of control in the stock market taking horrific losses,
- 18:18Speaker 1: the NASDAC down more in one month than we've seen
- 18:21Speaker 1: back in two thousand and eight was the last time
- 18:24Speaker 1: it was this bad. You may be looking at your
- 18:27Speaker 1: financial portfolio in your sick to your stomach. You're not alone.
- 18:30Speaker 1: The question is if you are not diversified in precious
- 18:35Speaker 1: metals as part of your financial portfolio, then what would
- 18:38Speaker 1: it look like now? Maybe if you would have been,

- 19:46Speaker 1: challengers revive fears of a twenty sixteen repeat. I don't
- 19:50Speaker 1: know if that's a fear, because in twenty and sixteen,
- 19:53Speaker 1: I think everything worked out pretty all right for Donald
- 19:55Speaker 1: Trump did it not, Yeah, Associated Press to freak out
- 20:00Speaker 1: this morning, saying quote. Memories of the tumultuous twenty sixteen
- 20:04Speaker 1: Republican primary hung over the Las Vegas ballroom this weekend,
- 20:09Speaker 1: during the first major gathering of the party's potential contenders
- 20:12Speaker 1: for the twenty twenty four nomination, no fewer than four five, six, seven, eight, nine,
- 20:19Speaker 1: ten White House prospects stepped under the stage to pitch
- 20:22Speaker 1: their plan to fix the nation and their party. The
- 20:26Speaker 1: details varied, but within most speeches was an extraordinary sense
- 20:29Speaker 1: of defiance rarely seen since former President Donald Trump seized
- 20:34Speaker 1: control of the Republican Party six years ago. The ap
- 20:38Speaker 1: goes on to write their central message, Trump can and
- 20:41Speaker 1: should be beaten. Nicky Haley, the former Ambassador of the
- 20:45Speaker 1: United Nations under Trump, pledged in April that she wouldn't
- 20:49Speaker 1: challenge the former president if he ran again. Saturday night,
- 20:53Speaker 1: facing hundreds of cheering Republicans, she vowed to give a
- 20:56Speaker 1: thousand percent to a White House bed if she decides
- 20:59Speaker 1: to get in. I've never lost an election, and I'm
- 21:03Speaker 1: not going to start now, she said, as the crowd
- 21:07Speaker 1: roared as the donors and activists who gathered for the
- 21:10Speaker 1: Republican Jewish Coalitions two day leadership conference applauded. Perhaps no
- 21:15Speaker 1: one was cheering louder than Trump himself from his Florida estate.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Trump's team believes, as do a growing number of anxious
- 21:24Speaker 1: donors and Republican operatives, that the GOP's embolden twenty twenty
- 21:29Speaker 1: four class may already be unintentionally recreating the condentions that
- 21:34Speaker 1: enabled Trump's success in twenty sixteen. That year, at crowd
- 21:38Speaker 1: of Republican phil Field splintered the primary electorate and allowed
- 21:43Speaker 1: Trump to become the party's presidential nominee despite winning just
- 21:46Speaker 1: thirty five percent or less of the vote in each
- 21:48Speaker 1: of the three opening primary contests. In the earliest days
- 21:52Speaker 1: of the twenty twenty four season, the twenty sixteen parallels
- 21:56Speaker 1: the ap rights are eerie, as then is viewed with
- 22:00Speaker 1: suspicion within his party. His standing weekend considerably after several
- 22:05Speaker 1: loyalists lost winnable races in the months midterm elections, and
- 22:09Speaker 1: most of all, a parade of ambitious Republicans lighting up
- 22:14Speaker 1: to take him on. A small but growing group of
- 22:16Speaker 1: Republican operatives are warning Trump's critics that the only way
- 22:20Speaker 1: to defeat him is to rally behind a much smaller
- 22:23Speaker 1: group of alternatives. Eric Lavane, a New York based donor
- 22:28Speaker 1: who attended the weekend gathering, called on his party to
- 22:31Speaker 1: embrace no more than two or three candidates and to
- 22:34Speaker 1: move with real urgency, saying quote, I don't think we
- 22:38Speaker 1: have the luxury of waiting. He raised millions of dollars
- 22:41Speaker 1: for Republicans in recent years, and began speaking out against
- 22:44Speaker 1: Trump only after the midterms, saying, quote, if he becomes
- 22:48Speaker 1: a Republican brand, the party is going to be destroyed,
- 22:51Speaker 1: referring to Donald Trump. For now, at least, Trump's rivals
- 22:54Speaker 1: don't appear to be heating his warning. The most popular
- 22:58Speaker 1: alternative to Trump is Florida Governor Rhonda Santis. He isn't
- 23:03Speaker 1: likely to end of the race until the late spring,
- 23:05Speaker 1: his allies say, but in his keynote address Saturday night,
- 23:09Speaker 1: he left little doubt that twenty twenty four was on
- 23:12Speaker 1: his mind. He said, quote, in times like these, there
- 23:16Speaker 1: is no substitute for victory to Santa, said, siding over
- 23:20Speaker 1: and over his overwhelming mid term success in Florida. We've
- 23:24Speaker 1: got a lot more to do, and I have only
- 23:28Speaker 1: begun to fight. And in a series of interviews, several
- 23:31Speaker 1: other would be Republican candidates and their aids indicated they
- 23:35Speaker 1: would likely wait until next spring or summer tend of
- 23:38Speaker 1: the race should they decide to run. That's even after
- 23:42Speaker 1: Trump formally launched his twenty twenty four campaign this past week.
- 23:46Speaker 1: New York Governor or excuse me, New Hampshire Governor Chris
- 23:49Speaker 1: and Nunu, who isn't ruling out a twenty twenty four run,
- 23:53Speaker 1: also said Trump's early announcement was creating no sense of urgency.
- 23:57Speaker 1: It's simply highlighted his weakness politic coolly standing, he went
- 24:02Speaker 1: on to say the AP, I think all of us
- 24:05Speaker 1: understand how little of a factor he's going to be.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Sin and Who said in an interview he's not scaring
- 24:10Speaker 1: anybody out. Anyone who wants to run is going to run.
- 24:13Speaker 1: It'll be fun, It'll be a wide open race. Maryland
- 24:17Speaker 1: Governor Larry Hogan said it's much too early to worry about,
- 24:21Speaker 1: you know, the field and narrowing it down, saying, quote,
- 24:25Speaker 1: I think more voices, more potential choices, is a good thing. Hogan,
- 24:30Speaker 1: who is openly weighing at twenty twenty four, bit after
- 24:32Speaker 1: his term ends, in January. Trump needs to be tested.
- 24:35Speaker 1: People need to go out there and be willing to
- 24:37Speaker 1: stand up to him. Hogan also went on to say,
- 24:40Speaker 1: I don't think anyone's going to listen to narrowing the field.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Everybody's going to say I should be the guy. I
- 24:45Speaker 1: should be the guy. We should all be the guy. Christie,
- 24:49Speaker 1: a failed twenty sixteen presidential contender who then went on
- 24:53Speaker 1: to lead Trump's White House transition that year, said he
- 24:55Speaker 1: ultimately expects seven or eight major cannets at enter the race,
- 24:59Speaker 1: which as manageable compared to the with the sixteen who
- 25:02Speaker 1: ran against Trump in two thousand and sixteen. Chris Christy said,
- 25:06Speaker 1: a lot of people, a lot of those people who
- 25:09Speaker 1: are fishing out of the Trump pond. Christie said, suggesting
- 25:13Speaker 1: that prospects such as the Santis and Mike Pompeo are
- 25:16Speaker 1: maga guys who would still support from Trump Trump's base
- 25:20Speaker 1: in a way that creates opportunities for others like him.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Christie dismissed any talk of, you know, whittling the field
- 25:30Speaker 1: down anytime soon, saying, quote, we should all rally behind someone, okay,
- 25:35Speaker 1: who I don't think any there's any obvious choice when
- 25:39Speaker 1: responding to the idea that we need to hurry up
- 25:41Speaker 1: and get behind one person. Trump advisors initially hoped that
- 25:45Speaker 1: he might clear the field with his early announcement. They
- 25:49Speaker 1: now believe a crowded field will help him by splitting
- 25:52Speaker 1: the anti Trump vote, just as was the case in
- 25:54Speaker 1: two and sixteen. Trump won the New Hampshire and South
- 25:58Speaker 1: Carolina primary election that year with just thirty five percent
- 26:01Speaker 1: and thirty two percent of the the vote, respectively. Seven others
- 26:04Speaker 1: divide the overwhelming majority of the vote. Trump's team notes
- 26:08Speaker 1: that his loyalists and key twenty twenty two primary elections
- 26:10Speaker 1: from Arizona, New Hampshire to Pennsylvania won their GOP nominations.
- 26:14Speaker 1: We're between thirty to forty percent of the vote. A
- 26:18Speaker 1: base of supported beliefs continues to be his floor. In
- 26:22Speaker 1: the twenty twenty four primary, Former New Hampshire GOP chair
- 26:27Speaker 1: Jennifer Horne, who led the state party in twenty sixteen,
- 26:30Speaker 1: said the growing number of likely twenty twenty four candidates
- 26:34Speaker 1: should know better this time around, saying, quote, they are
- 26:38Speaker 1: feeding exactly the kind of environment that Trump needs to win.
- 26:41Speaker 1: If past is prologue, we've all got reason to be concerned.
- 26:47Speaker 1: And while there was evidence of Trump fatigue at the
- 26:49Speaker 1: weekend conference, Trump received a warm reception when he appeared
- 26:53Speaker 1: via Tell Vitella conference on Saturday. The crowd chaered loudly
- 26:57Speaker 1: when he noted his success and movie Usmbassy in Israel
- 27:01Speaker 1: to Jerusalem, but there was notable silence when he repeated
- 27:05Speaker 1: his baseless claims. The AP says about the twenty twenty
- 27:09Speaker 1: election lot loss. When he said the election was rigged
- 27:13Speaker 1: and it's too bad it was and Israel lost a lot,
- 27:15Speaker 1: Trump told the pack ballroom, you better hope that a
- 27:18Speaker 1: certain person wins the election. In twenty twenty four, and
- 27:22Speaker 1: when Trump already had declared candidates, some operatives worry it's
- 27:25Speaker 1: much later than his challengers think. First president of primary
- 27:31Speaker 1: debate could be just nine months away, using the twenty
- 27:34Speaker 1: sixteen president of primary as a guide. By the summer
- 27:37Speaker 1: of twenty fifteen, there were already seventeen candidates in the race.
- 27:41Speaker 1: One of them was Texas center Ted Cruz, who's considering
- 27:44Speaker 1: another run in twenty twenty four, The AP reports, speaking
- 27:49Speaker 1: to reporters in Las Vegas, Cruz said Trump and his
- 27:51Speaker 1: loyalists deserves some of the blame for the weaker than
- 27:54Speaker 1: expected results in the mid term, saying, quote, I'm frustrated
- 27:57Speaker 1: when my party fills candidates with no real sick chance
- 27:59Speaker 1: of six Crew said. When asked about the twenty twenty
- 28:03Speaker 1: four presidential contest, Crew said only there were several candidates
- 28:06Speaker 1: clearly positioning to clearly positioned runn against Trump. I believe
- 28:10Speaker 1: that voters cannon should sort that out. Mike Pompeo, Trump's
- 28:14Speaker 1: former secretary of State, who is among those positioning themselves
- 28:18Speaker 1: to run, slapped at the former president repeatedly on stage
- 28:21Speaker 1: this weekend without mentioning his name directly. Instead, Pompeo said
- 28:25Speaker 1: concernatives deserve leaders who fight for them, not ourselves or
- 28:29Speaker 1: our own egos, and he acknowledged the looming twenty twenty
- 28:33Speaker 1: four primary by saying, who knows the next time we're together,
- 28:37Speaker 1: we could be on stage multiple podiums. Pompeo said, who
- 28:40Speaker 1: knows who else might be there and what nicknames will have.
