Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Direct from Hollywood with Ryan Seacrest. When industry leaders talk
- 0:04Speaker 1: about who's next in the music game, a lot of
- 0:06Speaker 1: conversations sent around the name Blanco Brown, a guy who
- 0:10Speaker 1: likens X, is seamlessly fusing country and hip hop with
- 0:13Speaker 1: great results. And though Blanco admits he did rush the
- 0:15Speaker 1: release of his Rising to Get Up to capitalize on
- 0:18Speaker 1: the successive Old Town Road, mashing rap with country is
- 0:21Speaker 1: nothing new for him or hip hop in general. He explains,
- 0:23Speaker 1: at time, Bone Thugs and Harmony and E forty made
- 0:26Speaker 1: country songs. Nelly, Bubba Sparks, Nappy Roots had a country
- 0:30Speaker 1: twining to them too. They weren't trying to identify his country.
- 0:33Speaker 1: They were just being themselves. And that's what I'm doing.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I'm not trying to be country. I am country. It's
- 0:37Speaker 1: not traditional country. But if I delete my drum breaks,
- 0:39Speaker 1: you can't take back the fact that it's traditional country.
- 0:42Speaker 1: It lies at the surface. The get Up is out now.
- 0:45Speaker 1: That's direct from Hollywood.
