- 0:01Speaker 1: Without you, you we have without you, we have Somalia. Okay,
- 0:05Speaker 1: fine place where we have a congresswoman who immediately came
- 0:09Speaker 1: over to the country by marrying her brother, comes to
- 0:12Speaker 1: our country and then she tells us how to run
- 0:14Speaker 1: the United States of America. It's an amazing thing how
- 0:17Speaker 1: they could get away with it, and the people don't
- 0:19Speaker 1: want that to happen.
- 0:21Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Good Wednesday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:26Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Updating. We've got two big stories
- 0:29Speaker 3: for you. First up, you want to know how Democrats
- 0:32Speaker 3: are planning on winning the midterms. Apparently it's literally by
- 0:36Speaker 3: buying votes. What is their new plan. I'll explain it
- 0:39Speaker 3: to you in just a moment. Also, Iran is on notice,
- 0:43Speaker 3: Well maybe it's more of the people that are helping
- 0:45Speaker 3: them get their money. Many banks are now put on
- 0:49Speaker 3: notice by the Trump administration that if you're helping Iran
- 0:53Speaker 3: sell their oil and funnel their cash, you are in
- 0:57Speaker 3: serious trouble. But before we get to that, I want
- 0:59Speaker 3: to take a moment and ask you to help the
- 1:02Speaker 3: people in Israel. With my friends at the IFCJ working
- 1:06Speaker 3: right now on the ground for all those in need.
- 1:09Speaker 3: When we talk about Israel, we're not just talking about
- 1:11Speaker 3: a place. We're talking about a people connected to a promise,
- 1:15Speaker 3: a promise made by God, one he has never broken
- 1:18Speaker 3: and one that continues even today. Because God's character doesn't
- 1:23Speaker 3: change what he begins, He sustains what he promises, he fulfills,
- 1:29Speaker 3: and that matters today. Right now in Israel, families run
- 1:33Speaker 3: to shelters as sirens sound. Now this isn't just a crisis.
- 1:37Speaker 3: It's a call to respond for Christians. Caring for Jewish
- 1:41Speaker 3: people isn't rooted in politics. It's rooted in trust and
- 1:45Speaker 3: a God who keeps his word. So we don't stay distant.
- 1:49Speaker 3: We step in with prayer and practical help. The International
- 1:53Speaker 3: Fellowship of Christians and Jews is on the ground, bringing food,
- 1:57Speaker 3: caring for the vulnerable, and reminding people they're not alone.
- 2:01Speaker 3: This is what it looks like to line your heart
- 2:04Speaker 3: with Gods, to pray, to show up, and to care.
- 2:07Speaker 3: So join us and praying for peace of Jerusalem and
- 2:11Speaker 3: for the people who need it right now. Visit pray
- 2:15Speaker 3: I have CJ dot org. That's pray, I have CJ
- 2:21Speaker 3: dot org. It's the forty seven Morning Update, and it
- 2:24Speaker 3: starts right now.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 2:27Speaker 3: If you're a Democrat ahead of the midterm elections, what
- 2:30Speaker 3: is the easiest way to get someone to vote for
- 2:34Speaker 3: you instead of Donald Trump? It is to offer you
- 2:37Speaker 3: free stuff. Now, we know that Democrats love to offer
- 2:42Speaker 3: free stuff. We know like they absolutely love to offer
- 2:46Speaker 3: the free stuff. Elizabeth Warren. I'm going to take you
- 2:49Speaker 3: back in time to twenty twenty one, when Elizabeth Warren
- 2:53Speaker 3: jumped on the bandwagon that you, as an American, should
- 2:56Speaker 3: not have to pay for college anymore, and if you
- 2:59Speaker 3: took out a bunch of debts, the American people should
- 3:01Speaker 3: pay off your student loan debt, even if you've failed
- 3:03Speaker 3: out of school.
- 3:04Speaker 4: We are just about out of time, but I have
- 3:05Speaker 4: to ask you about this. You and I have talked
- 3:07Speaker 4: before about student loan debt. Senator Schumer is out this
- 3:10Speaker 4: morning with the new op ed asking the President to
- 3:12Speaker 4: extend that payment pause on student loans. He also wants
- 3:14Speaker 4: him to cancel fifty thousand dollars in student debt. We've
- 3:17Speaker 4: reached out on our end of the White House on this.
- 3:19Speaker 4: I have to ask you. The President has been reluctant
- 3:21Speaker 4: to take this step, this cancelation, when he's been asked
- 3:23Speaker 4: about it. Have you gotten, Senator, recently, any assurances from
- 3:26Speaker 4: the White House that this might actually be under consideration
- 3:29Speaker 4: from the President.
- 3:30Speaker 5: I am not going to talk about private conversations, but
- 3:34Speaker 5: I will say the same thing in public. Debt, I know,
- 3:37Speaker 5: but I'll say the same thing in public that I
- 3:39Speaker 5: say in private, and that is, we need to cancel
- 3:42Speaker 5: fifty thousand dollars in student loan debt. That would free
- 3:45Speaker 5: up about thirty five million Americans from having any student
- 3:49Speaker 5: loan debt at all. It would be the single best
- 3:51Speaker 5: way that the President of the United States could help
- 3:54Speaker 5: close the black white wealth gap for people with student
- 3:58Speaker 5: loan debt. It's about racial justice, it's about economic justice.
- 4:02Speaker 5: It's about building a strong future going forward. He can
- 4:05Speaker 5: do this today.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Private conversations aside, are you at least optimistic or do
- 4:09Speaker 4: you still see this as an uphill challenge?
- 4:10Speaker 5: But I am optimistic, and I'm optimistic for exactly the
- 4:14Speaker 5: reason I gave, and that is it is the right
- 4:17Speaker 5: thing to do, and I believe Joe Biden will recognize that.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Senator Elizabeth Warren, thank you again for your time and
- 4:23Speaker 4: for being on this morning.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Now, let me just put it into context. Why I
- 4:27Speaker 3: just played for you that clip. We are now hearing
- 4:30Speaker 3: that Democrats are seriously considering bringing back the lie that
- 4:36Speaker 3: they are going to pay your student loans off if
- 4:41Speaker 3: you'll just elect them in the midterm elections. This is
- 4:44Speaker 3: not a joke. Democrats are having meetings now trying to
- 4:47Speaker 3: figure out what they can promise you that will get
- 4:50Speaker 3: you to the polls, what they can promise you that
- 4:53Speaker 3: will make you want to vote for them. Now it's
- 4:57Speaker 3: getting more and more expensive the promises, right, like they're
- 5:01Speaker 3: having to up the anni the original like just buy
- 5:04Speaker 3: a vote campaign by Democrats. That was all when Obama
- 5:09Speaker 3: was in office. And you may remember that Barack Obama
- 5:12Speaker 3: was a guy that was out there that was very excited,
- 5:15Speaker 3: and he wanted you to have what many described as
- 5:18Speaker 3: a Obama phone, and if you voted for Barack Obama,
- 5:22Speaker 3: he was going to give you one of those Obama phones.
- 5:26Speaker 3: And those Obama phones were free, right, you got free
- 5:29Speaker 3: cell phone minutes, right. And not only were they going
- 5:33Speaker 3: to do that, but then I go back to Barack
- 5:35Speaker 3: Obama and what he said about healthcare. Remember when Obamacare
- 5:38Speaker 3: was supposed to be free. Let's go back to twenty thirteen,
- 5:42Speaker 3: when the Lives are being told on Telemundo. He was
- 5:44Speaker 3: saying this to you guessed it illegal immigrants Latino community.
- 5:48Speaker 6: I'd understand because nobody is more likely to have health
- 5:51Speaker 6: insurance than Latinos in this country, and they stand to,
- 5:56Speaker 6: for the first time, get affordable healthcare coverage that they
- 6:00Speaker 6: can count on for themselves and their families. And they
- 6:02Speaker 6: don't have to take my word for it. They'll be
- 6:03Speaker 6: able to go to a website or a place a
- 6:06Speaker 6: phone call, and they'll be able to look at the plans,
- 6:08Speaker 6: how much they cost, they deal that they get for it,
- 6:11Speaker 6: and choose one that's right for them. And I think
- 6:14Speaker 6: what people will find is, in fact, that it's an
- 6:17Speaker 6: absolute good deal and they should take advantage of it.
- 6:20Speaker 6: And when you look at some states like California who
- 6:25Speaker 6: are really moving this forward, they've already started to estimate
- 6:28Speaker 6: what their premiums are going to be. People are potentially
- 6:31Speaker 6: going to be able to get health insurance for less
- 6:33Speaker 6: than their cell phone bill. They'll have that security in
- 6:36Speaker 6: that coverage.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Less than their cell phone bills. So not only will
- 6:40Speaker 3: we give you Obama phone, but we're going to give
- 6:41Speaker 3: you healthcare. It's going to be less than a cell
- 6:44Speaker 3: phone bill. By the way, that was a lie. We
- 6:46Speaker 3: knew it was a lie. Then we warned it was
- 6:49Speaker 3: a lie. But they passed Obamacare, you know, the bill
- 6:51Speaker 3: that we won't know what's in the bill until after
- 6:53Speaker 3: you get the bill. Remember that, until after we passed
- 6:55Speaker 3: the bill for Nancy Pelosi. And then there was the
- 6:57Speaker 3: original Obama phone woman that went viral at that Romney
- 7:01Speaker 3: event back in twenty twelve, the big lie that started
- 7:06Speaker 3: all the Hey, we'll just say we're gonna give away
- 7:07Speaker 3: free stuff. The woman out there near Cleveland, Bama.
- 7:11Speaker 5: You got Obama phone?
- 7:12Speaker 2: Yes, everybody in Cleveland.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Oh my, Nordy got Obama fallI.
- 7:16Speaker 5: A woman president. You know he gave us a phone.
- 7:20Speaker 6: He give you a phone.
- 7:21Speaker 5: Let he give you a phone? You shun up during
- 7:23Speaker 5: u a full steps you all charity?
- 7:26Speaker 4: You got lo here come you give some.
- 7:30Speaker 6: Okay, what's wrong with Romney again?
- 7:31Speaker 5: Romney?
- 7:32Speaker 2: He sucks me.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Romney sucks bad. We can agree with that part of
- 7:37Speaker 3: the statement. So there you have it. As we get
- 7:39Speaker 3: ready for the midterms, get ready for the big lies
- 7:42Speaker 3: that are coming your way. Free stuff for everyone.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Next story number two.
- 7:48Speaker 3: The Treasury Department has just come out telling US banks
- 7:53Speaker 3: to flag suspected Iranian money laundering networks. The Treasury Department
- 8:00Speaker 3: is wanting US banks and other financial institutions to monitor
- 8:04Speaker 3: what they describe as Iranian money laundering networks that use
- 8:07Speaker 3: their funds to spuggle sanctioned oil through shell companies, as
- 8:11Speaker 3: well as crypto networks. The move, which effectively deputizes the
- 8:15Speaker 3: global financial system to help disrupt Iran's sanctions evasion infrastructure,
- 8:21Speaker 3: comes as the US and Iran reached another impasse over
- 8:25Speaker 3: how the end the war will happen while their ceasefire
- 8:28Speaker 3: has grown increasingly shaky. President Trump on Monday said the
- 8:33Speaker 3: Iranian ceasefire is on life support after he rejected Tehran's
- 8:36Speaker 3: latest proposal to end the war as a non starter
- 8:39Speaker 3: because they want to keep and have nuclear weapons. The
- 8:41Speaker 3: Trump administration is calling on banks now to flag certain
- 8:45Speaker 3: customers who may launder funds for Rand's Revolutionary Guard.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Now.
- 8:50Speaker 3: The IRGC is an essence in charge of the government
- 8:52Speaker 3: right now, they are a declared terrorist organization. What's also
- 8:55Speaker 3: really interesting about what's happening is this is what should
- 8:58Speaker 3: have already have been had opening under prior administrations. Except
- 9:02Speaker 3: prior administrations they decided to just look the other way.
- 9:07Speaker 3: We had sanctions on Iran, they just were not imposed,
- 9:11Speaker 3: they were not actually used. Again, prior administrations looking the
- 9:16Speaker 3: other way, trying appeasement instead of actually saying that we
- 9:20Speaker 3: are going to stop Iran from doing what they were
- 9:22Speaker 3: doing as a state sponsored terrorism. Now, the Biden administration
- 9:26Speaker 3: was actually very smart. They didn't lift the sanctions on Iran.
- 9:29Speaker 3: They just deliberately chose not to enforce the sanctions that
- 9:32Speaker 3: we had in Iran because they didn't want to get
- 9:33Speaker 3: hit politically. Well, now the Trump administration is saying, not
- 9:36Speaker 3: only are we going to have sanctions on Iran, but
- 9:39Speaker 3: we are now calling on the banks to do their job. Now,
- 9:41Speaker 3: once the government says this, this changes everything in the
- 9:45Speaker 3: banking community. Do you want to be the bank that
- 9:47Speaker 3: gets busted laundering funds through Iran's Revolutionary Guard, which is
- 9:52Speaker 3: a terrorist organization, And that's exactly why the Trump administration
- 9:55Speaker 3: is saying this. Now they're also saying this includes newly
- 10:00Speaker 3: companies moving unusually large amounts of money. They said, firms
- 10:04Speaker 3: that route payments through multiple intermediaries or transactions connected to
- 10:10Speaker 3: Iranian crypto firms. Now, as part of the US initiative
- 10:14Speaker 3: to monitor Iranian oil sales, banks are being asked to
- 10:17Speaker 3: watch out for oil labeled as Malaysian blend to disguise
- 10:22Speaker 3: its Iranian origin, missing or falsified shipping documents, or ship
- 10:28Speaker 3: to ship oil transfer that obscure where cargo originally came from.
- 10:33Speaker 3: In other words, are saying ignorance in the banking world
- 10:35Speaker 3: is no longer bliss.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Banks.
- 10:37Speaker 3: By the way, many banks they don't care where the
- 10:39Speaker 3: money that comes to their bank actually comes from. They
- 10:41Speaker 3: don't care if the money is coming from a terrorist
- 10:44Speaker 3: regime because they make money off that money. Right they
- 10:47Speaker 3: want massive depodsit's coming into their bank. So for years,
- 10:52Speaker 3: banks and there's many banks out there, and there are
- 10:55Speaker 3: shady banks, yes in the United Sedates America that have
- 10:57Speaker 3: no problem helping launder money for cartels, for Russia oligarchs,
- 11:03Speaker 3: or for terrorist organizations and groups. In fact, we saw
- 11:06Speaker 3: that after nine to eleven. Now Treasury Financial Crimes Enforcement
- 11:10Speaker 3: Network report released on Monday says oil firms linked to
- 11:13Speaker 3: Iran conducted roughly four billion I'm gonna say that again,
- 11:17Speaker 3: roughly four billion in transactions in twenty twenty four alone.
- 11:21Speaker 3: How is that even possible? It is because the enforcement
- 11:25Speaker 3: mechanisms in our banking system deliberately look the other way,
- 11:27Speaker 3: because what bank doesn't want four billion dollars in transactions
- 11:31Speaker 3: or at least a piece of that four billion dollars.
- 11:34Speaker 3: And dozens of shipping companies based in Iraq, the United
- 11:38Speaker 3: Air of Emirates in Hong Kong are all connected to
- 11:40Speaker 3: transporting sanction Iranian oil as well. They say proceeded proceeds
- 11:45Speaker 3: about seven hundred and seven million through US accounts in
- 11:48Speaker 3: twenty twenty four. So they're also now saying, hey, if
- 11:51Speaker 3: you see companies in Iraq and the UAE Hong Kong
- 11:54Speaker 3: that are doing this, you also now have an obligation
- 11:58Speaker 3: to report it. Now, along with a bombing campaign in Iran,
- 12:01Speaker 3: the Trump administration is now turned towards an economic focused
- 12:05Speaker 3: effort aimed at choking Tehran into submission. They do this
- 12:09Speaker 3: not only through sanctions that are actually enforced, but also
- 12:12Speaker 3: the threat of secondary sanctions on Iran's allies, which is
- 12:17Speaker 3: now very important. In April, and this went very much unreported,
- 12:21Speaker 3: Treasury Secretary Scott Besson send a letter to financial institutions
- 12:25Speaker 3: in China. In Hong Kong, the UAE, and Oman threatening
- 12:29Speaker 3: to levy sanctions and secondary sanctions for doing business with Iran,
- 12:33Speaker 3: and accusing those countries of allowing Iranian illicit activities to
- 12:38Speaker 3: flow through their financial institutions. So here we are the
- 12:42Speaker 3: President of United States of America yet again saying if
- 12:45Speaker 3: you're helping Iran, you are on our list. And if
- 12:49Speaker 3: you're an American bank or any bank that's connected to
- 12:52Speaker 3: the US and our institutions, you are also on notice
- 12:56Speaker 3: that if we catch you helping a taris regime, there
- 12:59Speaker 3: will be hell to pay for it. And that is
- 13:02Speaker 3: how the present continues to fight Iran as we speak.
