- 2:57Speaker 3: seven Morning Update and it starts right now. Number one,
- 3:00Speaker 3: it is big news. The White House is unveiling a
- 3:03Speaker 3: new healthcare framework they say will lower costs for all Americans.
- 3:09Speaker 3: This after the debacle that was exposed during the government
- 3:12Speaker 3: shutdown of just how much money we are spending to
- 3:16Speaker 3: subsidize the Affordable Care Act, which is anything but affordable.
- 3:23Speaker 3: The Trump White House, we're now being told, is expected
- 3:25Speaker 3: to unveil a healthcare policy framework that not only would
- 3:30Speaker 3: lower costs, but also extend expiring Obamacare subsidies while they
- 3:35Speaker 3: figure out how to move forward. Ms Now and Politico
- 3:40Speaker 3: reported both that the healthcare policy framework would include a
- 3:43Speaker 3: two year extension of the expiring Enhanced Premium Tax credits.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Those are the subsidies that you're paying for, yees. Obamacare
- 3:54Speaker 3: is not cheap at all. It did not make things
- 3:56Speaker 3: more affordable at all. In fact, it made the health
- 3:59Speaker 3: care insurance providers rich at the expense of you, the
- 4:04Speaker 3: tax payer. We also know that they will be enhanced
- 4:08Speaker 3: Obamacare subsidies, which would otherwise expire at the end of
- 4:13Speaker 3: the year. The proposal could be unveiled as early as
- 4:16Speaker 3: this coming Monday. A White House spokesman declined to confirm
- 4:21Speaker 3: the details of the plan, stating, quote, until President Trump
- 4:25Speaker 3: makes an announcement himself, any reporting about the administration's healthcare
- 4:29Speaker 3: positions is mere speculation. But here's what we are learning
- 4:34Speaker 3: through background. The plan apparently with lower limits on income
- 4:38Speaker 3: eligibility for credits, and that would save American taxpayers a
- 4:43Speaker 3: significant amount of money. It would also, I'm being told,
- 4:47Speaker 3: set minimum premium payments as well. According to multiple reports,
- 4:53Speaker 3: the proposed eligibility cap would set the subsidies to seven
- 4:58Speaker 3: hundred percent of the federal poverty line. Republicans have complained
- 5:04Speaker 3: that with the Colone Obama here in hand sepsis scheme,
- 5:07Speaker 3: wealthy Americans would benefit from the subseason what was meant
- 5:11Speaker 3: to be only temporary? Why were they temporary? It was
- 5:15Speaker 3: during the COVID nineteen coronavirus outbreak when they had these
- 5:20Speaker 3: extra benefits that now Democrats want to make well last forever,
- 5:25Speaker 3: which is insane. The White House plan also would urge
- 5:29Speaker 3: Congress to fund cost sharing reductions and plans, which Republicans
- 5:36Speaker 3: pushed for in the Big Beautiful Bill, but were next
- 5:39Speaker 3: after Senate Democrats objected to its inclusion in Trump's landmark legislation,
- 5:45Speaker 3: believing it violated rules on budgetary reconciliation. They claimed, now
- 5:50Speaker 3: here's the other part that's very interesting about this. The
- 5:54Speaker 3: Congressional Budget Office found that these healthcare reforms would have
- 6:00Speaker 3: lower to healthcare premiums by twelve point seven percent and
- 6:05Speaker 3: reduced costs by decreasing the need for Obamacare and the
- 6:10Speaker 3: welfare of the government for the epcts known as the
- 6:14Speaker 3: subsidies for Obamacare. The plans would have also lowered the
- 6:19Speaker 3: cost if this CRS plan would have been put into
- 6:22Speaker 3: effect by thirty point eight billion dollars. Now that's literally
- 6:27Speaker 3: thirty point eight billion dollars. It would have saved you,
- 6:30Speaker 3: the tax payer, and that is exactly why Democrats were
- 6:34Speaker 3: against it. Now, the Trump proposal would also have part
- 6:38Speaker 3: of their tax credits go straight to Americans via tax
- 6:43Speaker 3: advantage savings accounts instead of the checks going directly to
- 6:47Speaker 3: healthcare insurance companies that are getting rich to lower America's
- 6:51Speaker 3: premium indirectly. The President probably would like to go bigger.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Then the Hill has the appetite for so we have
- 7:00Speaker 3: to see how that. You know, how it works out,
- 7:03Speaker 3: is what the White House Deputy Chief of Staff James
- 7:06Speaker 3: Blair said last week talking about the reforms that need
- 7:10Speaker 3: to be made. What we also know is the White
- 7:13Speaker 3: HOUSEPTI Chief of Staff saying that President Trump would love
- 7:16Speaker 3: to push for healthcare reform in a way that would
- 7:19Speaker 3: be meaningful, saying, quote, we're going to have to have
- 7:22Speaker 3: the healthcare conversation. We're going to put some legislation forward.
- 7:27Speaker 3: The WI chiefs said there could be interest in BI
- 7:31Speaker 3: Parson reform. However, he said if that path is foreclosed,
- 7:35Speaker 3: there is the Parson path of reconciliation as well. The
- 7:39Speaker 3: President probably would like to go big because there needs
- 7:42Speaker 3: to be big reforms. Republican lawmakers have said they believe
- 7:47Speaker 3: the White House will release a framework to lower health
- 7:50Speaker 3: insurance costs, expand health savings accounts, and scrap parts of
- 7:54Speaker 3: the Affordable Care Act that are just flat out unsustainable.
- 7:58Speaker 3: In fact, much of the Obamacare program is unsustainable without
- 8:02Speaker 3: record tax dollars going to prop it up. As I
- 8:07Speaker 3: mentioned earlier, there's nothing affordable about the Affordable Care Act now.
- 8:12Speaker 3: The White House also signaled that the president's interest in
- 8:15Speaker 3: healthcare reform is something he believes could be a massive
- 8:20Speaker 3: change for the American people. A slide deck shared by
- 8:24Speaker 3: the House Majority leaders Chief Scalise this last week made
- 8:28Speaker 3: it clear that House GOP leadership also falls in the
- 8:32Speaker 3: overhaul camp. One slide that was viewed by Politico was
- 8:36Speaker 3: titled the Unaffordable Care Act and highlighted statistics that show
- 8:41Speaker 3: the premiums have increased by eighty percent since the ACA
- 8:45Speaker 3: passage aka since Obamacare became law. It also claimed that
- 8:50Speaker 3: more than fifty percent of Obamacare and rollies did not
- 8:55Speaker 3: file a single claim this year. Walking into the meeting, school,
- 9:01Speaker 3: he said in a brief interview that he planned to
- 9:03Speaker 3: keep talking with the chairs of three key committees of
- 9:07Speaker 3: jurisdiction over health policy. That would be Ways and Means,
- 9:11Speaker 3: Energy and Commerce, Education, and the workforce. Now, healthcare became
- 9:16Speaker 3: a focal point in the national politics as Democrats shut
- 9:19Speaker 3: the government down. As I mentioned earlier, for weeks over
- 9:23Speaker 3: what they described as mandatory Obamacare subsidies. They were not mandatory.
- 9:27Speaker 3: They were enhanced during COVID, and they will expire on purpose.
- 9:32Speaker 3: The Democrats planned this way. At the end of the year.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Democrats first enhanced these substies through one point nine trillion
- 9:41Speaker 3: let me say that again, one point nine trillion in
- 9:45Speaker 3: coronavirus era stimulus plans, including the American Rescue Plan. They
- 9:51Speaker 3: continue the subseas through the end of twenty twenty five
- 9:54Speaker 3: with the so called Inflation Reduction Act that did anything
- 9:58Speaker 3: but that. Trump on the issues, stating that healthcare dollars
- 10:02Speaker 3: should go directly to the American people instead of through
- 10:06Speaker 3: subsidies to health insurance companies, saying it this way on
- 10:10Speaker 3: social media. Quote, the only healthcare I will support or
- 10:15Speaker 3: approve is sending the money directly back to the people,
- 10:19Speaker 3: with nothing going to the big, fat rich insurance companies
- 10:24Speaker 3: who have made trillions and ripped off America. Long enough,
- 10:28Speaker 3: the people will be allowed to negotiate and by their
- 10:32Speaker 3: own much better insurance. Power to the people. Congress, do
- 10:38Speaker 3: not waste your time and energy on anything else. This
- 10:42Speaker 3: is the only way to have great health care in America.
- 10:46Speaker 3: The Republican Set of Community chairman said that a second
- 10:50Speaker 3: reconciliation bill should address affordability, which should include healthcare reform,
- 10:56Speaker 3: saying the Democrats are incapable of coming up with a
- 11:00Speaker 3: plan that is competitive, transparent, and actually reduces costs. Whine
- 11:07Speaker 3: because they're lining the pockets of their friends in the
- 11:11Speaker 3: healthcare provider industry, and they know that as long as
- 11:15Speaker 3: the government's willing to send them the check, they get
- 11:17Speaker 3: rich every single time the money comes into their accounts.
- 11:22Speaker 3: This also just goes back to consumer choice and freedom.
- 11:26Speaker 3: The President believes that you, as an American deserve to
- 11:29Speaker 3: have your money and then you can put it to
- 11:31Speaker 3: work the way that you decide to do it, in
- 11:33Speaker 3: a more responsible manner than the corruption of the government.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Doctor Mark Siegel on Fox News Channel talking about exactly this,
- 11:41Speaker 3: and here is what he had to say on Fox
- 11:44Speaker 3: News Sunday.
- 11:45Speaker 4: But I can't get you treatments.
- 11:47Speaker 5: What about this idea that the President has floated about
- 11:50Speaker 5: the money that flows into a lot of these subsidies
- 11:52Speaker 5: instead of paying the insurance companies, going direct to the
- 11:54Speaker 5: consumer and letting them take the money with them where
- 11:57Speaker 5: they choose.
- 11:58Speaker 4: He's gotten a lot of criticism for that he's on
- 12:00Speaker 4: the right track because it would give the consumer more
- 12:03Speaker 4: control of the situation. Health savings accounts are part of this,
- 12:07Speaker 4: being able to buy your own insurance, making it affordable,
- 12:10Speaker 4: and you choose a marketplace idea more. It's not quite
- 12:13Speaker 4: that simple. That's a huge step in the right direction.
- 12:16Speaker 5: Well, what are your odds?
- 12:18Speaker 3: Do you so? At the end of the day, there
- 12:20Speaker 3: are two options. Either you as an American say no, no,
- 12:23Speaker 3: no government, just be in charge of my life, doesn't
- 12:25Speaker 3: matter how much it costs, Just you be in charge
- 12:28Speaker 3: of my health care. Or there's the Donald Trump plan,
- 12:31Speaker 3: which is he believes that you, as an American should
- 12:33Speaker 3: decide what is best for you, that you should spend
- 12:36Speaker 3: your money in a way that is well more responsible
- 12:39Speaker 3: than what the government does each and every day, and
- 12:43Speaker 3: he believes that prices will lower significantly if you do
- 12:46Speaker 3: it that way. I think many Americans have made it
- 12:50Speaker 3: clear that they like the way the President is describing
- 12:53Speaker 3: this and the amount of corruption that we are witnessing
- 12:56Speaker 3: from those in the Democratic Party and in government who
- 12:59Speaker 3: are overspinning your tax tours. And what are you actually
- 13:03Speaker 3: getting in return, not a lot for your money. And
- 13:07Speaker 3: that's where we are today.
