- 1:58Speaker 1: come on your back. Uh huh, I shall will a
- 2:03Speaker 1: good morning everybody. Y'are listening to the voice come on
- 2:07Speaker 1: digging now on it only Steve Harley got a radio
- 2:10Speaker 1: show man instead of trying to be about the business.
- 2:14Speaker 1: To y'all, I'm i'm I'm I'm doing all I can.
- 2:19Speaker 1: But you know what's crazy in the efforts that I make.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I can do more. And my father used to tell
- 2:28Speaker 1: me something when I was growing up. He says, son,
- 2:31Speaker 1: when you've done your best and you've done all you can,
- 2:38Speaker 1: sit still for a second and just do a little
- 2:41Speaker 1: bit more. Always remember that, he said. When you've done
- 2:45Speaker 1: the best you can and you can done all you
- 2:48Speaker 1: can think of, he say, sit still for a minute
- 2:52Speaker 1: and do some more. And you know what I've discovered
- 2:54Speaker 1: in my life, always have a little more. I ain't
- 2:57Speaker 1: ever just out out out completely. I can't take another step.
- 3:02Speaker 1: There ain't another breath in me, There ain't there ain't
- 3:05Speaker 1: another thought I can produce. I'm never completely out, man.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Just take a rest for a minute, man, and then
- 3:13Speaker 1: just do a little bit more. And that that. I
- 3:16Speaker 1: can't tell you how many times that's helped me get
- 3:19Speaker 1: over the top. You know, I was watching a documentary
- 3:23Speaker 1: about people climbing a Mount Everest and how difficult climbing
- 3:26Speaker 1: Mount Everest was and how they have on the hill,
- 3:32Speaker 1: uh something called like a death zone or killing zone
- 3:35Speaker 1: where the majority of people run out of oxygen and
- 3:38Speaker 1: they have to turn back. Well, what's crazy is it's
- 3:44Speaker 1: right in view of the summit. You can actually see
- 3:47Speaker 1: the top of Mount Everest from there. But it's but
- 3:51Speaker 1: it's that little bit that's left that's this most difficult.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Now that I forgot all the reasons why they said
- 3:57Speaker 1: most people don't make it from there, and more of
- 4:00Speaker 1: people have lost their lives in that area. I don't
- 4:02Speaker 1: know what it is, but the people that make it
- 4:06Speaker 1: to the top of Mount efforts, they all had to
- 4:10Speaker 1: go through that same zone or that same area, but
- 4:15Speaker 1: they had a little bit more that allowed them to
- 4:18Speaker 1: get to the top. You know, a lot of people
- 4:21Speaker 1: have had accidents up there trying that. So I'm not
- 4:23Speaker 1: even really sure if Mount Everest analogy is a good one.
- 4:28Speaker 1: But let's just break it down a little bit more.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Let's just talk about life. There's a poem I learned
- 4:36Speaker 1: back when I host pledge in. It's called don't Quit.
- 4:39Speaker 1: The authors are unknown, but the poem was called don't Quit,
- 4:45Speaker 1: and I had to memorize it. I memorize this point
- 4:51Speaker 1: when I was eighteen nineteen, but the poem stayed in
- 4:55Speaker 1: my head. I'm gonna try to remember it right now,
- 4:59Speaker 1: I'm saying for you, but there's a stanza in it
- 5:02Speaker 1: that talks about how many a fellow has turned about
- 5:06Speaker 1: when he might have won had he stuck it out.
- 5:10Speaker 1: So don't give up. Though the pace seems slow, you
- 5:13Speaker 1: may succeed with another blow. You know. That's a stanza
- 5:17Speaker 1: that always sticks out in my mind. I'm gonna say
- 5:21Speaker 1: I can memorize one whole of right, Okay, this is
- 5:23Speaker 1: the point. There's the author is unknown. The name of
- 5:26Speaker 1: the point is don't quit. It goes like this. If
- 5:29Speaker 1: I'm make a mistake, I'm just trying to drum it up.
- 5:31Speaker 1: So here we go, it says when things go wrong,
- 5:34Speaker 1: as they sometimes will, when the road you're trudging seems
- 5:38Speaker 1: all uphill, when your funds are low and your debts
- 5:42Speaker 1: are high, when you want to smile, but you have
- 5:46Speaker 1: to sigh when cares are pressing you down. A bit,
- 5:50Speaker 1: rest if you must, but don't quit. For life is
- 5:54Speaker 1: queer with his twist and turns, as every one of
- 5:58Speaker 1: us must sometimes learn. And many a fellow has turned
- 6:02Speaker 1: about when he might have won had he stuck it out.
- 6:06Speaker 1: So don't give up. Though the pace seems slow. You
- 6:10Speaker 1: may succeed with another blow. Often the gold is nearer
- 6:15Speaker 1: than it seems to a faint and a faltering man.
- 6:20Speaker 1: And often the struggler has given up when he might
- 6:24Speaker 1: have captured the victor's cup, and he learns too late,
- 6:28Speaker 1: when the night came down, how close he was to
- 6:31Speaker 1: the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out. It's
- 6:38Speaker 1: your silver tint of your clouds of doubt, and you
- 6:42Speaker 1: never can tell how close you are. It may be
- 6:46Speaker 1: kneel when it seems afar, so stick to the fight
- 6:51Speaker 1: when your heart ist hit. It's when things seem worse
- 6:55Speaker 1: that you mustn't quit. I remember it because I'd had
- 6:59Speaker 1: a special method of helping you remember stuff back then.
- 7:02Speaker 1: But I remembered that at that point. My Dad's kept me.
- 7:06Speaker 1: You know, if we often talk about scripture and everything,
- 7:10Speaker 1: and I don't, I don't see how I could live
- 7:12Speaker 1: without it. But every now and then, man, somebody has
- 7:15Speaker 1: a writing. God puts a writing on somebody's heard that
- 7:18Speaker 1: delivers a message. Man, that can help people. I use
- 7:20Speaker 1: every motivational tool that I possibly can to climb this
- 7:24Speaker 1: letter of success or try to be the best fall
- 7:27Speaker 1: and the best husband I can be. I've done a
- 7:29Speaker 1: lot of changing over the years, and so have you.
- 7:32Speaker 1: But change is necessary in order to grow. If you
- 7:35Speaker 1: don't make changes, folks, you can't grow. I was a
- 7:38Speaker 1: young man on my set. I kept looking at him,
- 7:41Speaker 1: and a sharp little young dude just on my set,
- 7:45Speaker 1: and he had these dreads and I mean they were
- 7:50Speaker 1: they were super long, man, they will well below the
- 7:53Speaker 1: middle of his back. I mean it was just long.
- 7:56Speaker 1: And he kept talking to me, and he kept talking
- 7:58Speaker 1: to me and talking to me. Now know, somebody gonna
- 8:00Speaker 1: take this too wrong way. But this is my story.
- 8:02Speaker 1: So you know, feel how you want to feel. Already
- 8:05Speaker 1: know the emails is coming. You're talking about it. So
- 8:08Speaker 1: your man kept talking to him, and I said, hey, man,
- 8:11Speaker 1: you know you do your here a huge self of
- 8:13Speaker 1: favor in the business you and if you got a haircut,
- 8:16Speaker 1: you would do yourself a huge favor. I said, your
- 8:19Speaker 1: images everything, man, I said, you keep stopping me in
- 8:21Speaker 1: the hallway to try to tell me what you're doing,
- 8:23Speaker 1: what you are, but all I see is your hair,
- 8:26Speaker 1: and I keep trying to figure out what you're doing
- 8:28Speaker 1: with all that hair. Man, Now you can feel how
- 8:31Speaker 1: you want to feel. But I'm like an employer. I
- 8:34Speaker 1: employed people. So when I'm walking through the hallway and
- 8:38Speaker 1: I try to think of you traveling me with me,
- 8:40Speaker 1: and you're sitting in a meeting with me, I try
- 8:42Speaker 1: to imagine you in your suit sitting there talking business
- 8:45Speaker 1: with me. And so, just like other employers are, I'm
- 8:48Speaker 1: just having a real story with you. So I said, man,
- 8:51Speaker 1: you are to consider cutting your hair. He said, mad
- 8:55Speaker 1: Mr Harve, I've been growing his hair sounds a little boy.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I said, how hold are you now? He said? I said, well,
- 9:01Speaker 1: how long? You want to hang on to what you
- 9:03Speaker 1: was when you was a little boy. You know, if
- 9:05Speaker 1: you started growing your hair when you're a teenager. I
- 9:07Speaker 1: mean you're twenty eight now? What we and I said,
- 9:10Speaker 1: so let me help you understand something. Let me let
- 9:12Speaker 1: me ask you something. What does it do for you? Man?
- 9:16Speaker 1: It's just who I am? It's I said, so you
- 9:20Speaker 1: your have He said no, no, But it's a part
- 9:23Speaker 1: of me. I say, that part of you that you're
- 9:26Speaker 1: hanging on too. What does it do for you? I
- 9:29Speaker 1: just like it? Well, dog, I like ice cream, but
- 9:34Speaker 1: I feed that. But if I hang on ice cream
- 9:36Speaker 1: and eat ice cream every single day, my body gonna
- 9:38Speaker 1: reflect that. What is it that you hanging on to
- 9:43Speaker 1: that you don't want to let go of? That's prohibiting
- 9:45Speaker 1: you from being what all you can be? See, it's
- 9:48Speaker 1: hard to be what all you can be if you
- 9:50Speaker 1: want to keep being all you was? Don't that make
- 9:53Speaker 1: sense to you? So I'm I can't tell you how
- 9:57Speaker 1: many times I've had to change. Change is necess sary
- 10:00Speaker 1: to grow. You can't be all you can be if
- 10:06Speaker 1: you want to keep hanging on to all you was.
- 10:09Speaker 1: That don't make no sense? How do you go forward?
- 10:13Speaker 1: If you keep going backwards, you can't stay here and
- 10:18Speaker 1: go there. Do you understand that if you want to
- 10:21Speaker 1: go over there, you must remove yourself from right here? Oh?
- 10:27Speaker 1: I got right Here is comfortable. I got right here
- 10:30Speaker 1: is safe. But over there's where the shade is. Over.
- 10:34Speaker 1: There's where the fruit is. Over there is where the
- 10:38Speaker 1: opportunity is over. There is where the mountain of goal is.
- 10:43Speaker 1: So why are you stuck on here? You got to
- 10:46Speaker 1: leave here to go over there. You can't be all
- 10:50Speaker 1: you can be if you want to stay stuck on
- 10:52Speaker 1: who you was. Changes. Growth is necessary. Let's go to
- 11:04Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, get up on your feet and get ready.
- 11:07Speaker 1: This is the Steve Harvid Morning Show. And you know
- 11:10Speaker 1: what we're gonna Since my my uncle likes to dedicate

- 11:17Speaker 1: to two different groups of people. All right, first group

- 11:26Speaker 1: all right, ghibling, ah your ghibling ghibl it g Giblin?
- 11:30Speaker 1: Is it Giblet? I thought it was gibling. I thought
- 11:32Speaker 1: it was ghibling. Latest is the gr J I don't
- 11:38Speaker 1: know it's a It is a g it is a
- 11:40Speaker 1: g for real. I haven't heard giblet alright, So everybody
- 11:47Speaker 1: making Giblet, gibling gravy, how about both the Giblet gibler
- 11:50Speaker 1: If you're making GiB gibl Giblet grave then and then
- 11:58Speaker 1: last but not least, to everybody that's bringing the white
- 12:01Speaker 1: person that Thanksgiving down, Thank you, thank you so much.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Nobody ever recognizes. And I'm telling you the looks that
- 12:11Speaker 1: I you know how I roll. If I'm coming, she
- 12:17Speaker 1: gonna be white let and she always brings and we
- 12:24Speaker 1: take it back to That's what I like about it.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Try to have try to have like with the wind
- 12:31Speaker 1: play and so she feel comb Well, that's a good
- 12:34Speaker 1: one though, Junior. I'm glad you brought that up. What
- 12:37Speaker 1: movies do you watch during the holiday? Oh? Yeah, I
- 12:42Speaker 1: tell you what's to do that they watch a movie
- 12:44Speaker 1: together every year. I tell you what movie they really want.
- 12:48Speaker 1: And I hate to bring this up drum Line because
- 12:51Speaker 1: it's on every holiday, man, because you're in it. I'm
- 12:55Speaker 1: what can I say? I love drum Line and were
- 13:00Speaker 1: in that. You were good in that check? Do you
- 13:04Speaker 1: do you do your quite lady friend? Does she want
- 13:06Speaker 1: to watch like Miracle? On thirty four speaks. You want
- 13:08Speaker 1: to watch there, see what you're doing. We watched the
- 13:16Speaker 1: Temptations Thanksgiving. Yeah, I wish you The five Hot Beats
- 13:22Speaker 1: always comes on to let me tell you what I'm
- 13:24Speaker 1: gonna put car Wait, Carla. I forgot to tell Carla
- 13:27Speaker 1: one thing. I saw the guy who played Otis the
- 13:30Speaker 1: other day. He was come. I did you know? I
- 13:35Speaker 1: did come to see nobody coming to see? We should
- 13:40Speaker 1: do that. Your favorite land from your favorite movie. We
- 13:42Speaker 1: should do that. Your favorite line from your favorite movie.
- 13:47Speaker 1: I like that's Tommy. We're watching Claudine. Okay, we're watching Claudine.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Come on Gladys tonight with that soundtrack right there. We're
- 13:57Speaker 1: watching with my white. We gotta watch with a dynamite.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Let her know how it's done. You are, why not
- 14:09Speaker 1: we get through within a dynamite. I'm gonna get you
- 14:10Speaker 1: a little data, my girl. What really? I'm sorry far.
- 14:18Speaker 1: You know when we come back to talk about, you know,
- 14:20Speaker 1: holiday loving, we need to talk about that. You know
- 14:23Speaker 1: how if we never talked about that? Huh? And if
- 14:27Speaker 1: we don't, how will you know right? How you know
- 14:30Speaker 1: how to conduct yourself? Something funny? You heard? No stuffing?
- 14:38Speaker 1: God when we come back at thirty two after you're
- 14:43Speaker 1: listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Al Right, here
- 14:46Speaker 1: we go with something funny today. We're going to start
- 14:48Speaker 1: it off with Junior's Truth Be Told and then something
- 14:51Speaker 1: and then something. Tommy just came up with Holiday Loving. Yeah,
- 14:57Speaker 1: come on, Junior. Okay, well we'll we're gonna get to
- 15:00Speaker 1: that and I will have my input on that. But
- 15:02Speaker 1: there's a few things. You know, we're right right there
- 15:06Speaker 1: on the cusp of Thanksgiving, We're right there. We've covered
- 15:09Speaker 1: all a few you know, a few things with time
- 15:11Speaker 1: people should leave, and yeah, we've covered some things like that.
- 15:14Speaker 1: But there's one thing I almost forgot that we have
- 15:16Speaker 1: to talk about. I left something out, but I'm glad
- 15:20Speaker 1: I thought about it because we're so close and this
- 15:22Speaker 1: is really the most important thing, truth be told. Can't
- 15:26Speaker 1: we keep the prayer under our just can't we just
- 15:33Speaker 1: thank for the food. We don't have to bring people
- 15:34Speaker 1: health condition into this crowd. We don't have to bring
- 15:38Speaker 1: that out. Yeah, we just just just do the food
- 15:40Speaker 1: and let's eat. We did you say the grace to prayer,
- 15:46Speaker 1: whatever it is, But just keep it under our First
- 15:49Speaker 1: of all, I know it's gonna be a long prayer.
- 15:52Speaker 1: When I hear my my mind to beginning, that does
- 15:55Speaker 1: not go. We get our hands down and by the
- 16:00Speaker 1: holding hand and you hear my mom, and the hands
- 16:05Speaker 1: is sweaty. Yeah, some sanitizing, if you'll just have to
- 16:12Speaker 1: go around the table and everyone say a verse. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:16Speaker 1: they're thankful for. Yeah, lately it's become what you're thankful for. Yeah,
- 16:22Speaker 1: we need to have that box put up at the
- 16:24Speaker 1: front door. Write it down, put it in there. Just
- 16:28Speaker 1: put that up there by the dough. And we're getting this.
- 16:31Speaker 1: So they just pray for the food because the food
- 16:33Speaker 1: piping hot when we start. But it's always somebody that
- 16:38Speaker 1: don't ever get to pray, so they always get a shot.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Why do we let him even pray? He didn't even
- 16:46Speaker 1: read his Bible. Why is he over here talking for everybody?
- 16:49Speaker 1: My brother in law is the absolute longest world prayer
- 16:53Speaker 1: in the entire world. A cousin like that, you call,
- 16:58Speaker 1: I wish we could run one of them prayers. We man,
- 17:03Speaker 1: they got to run it. It's gonna be all day
- 17:06Speaker 1: when we stopped. But when we finished, they're putting food
- 17:09Speaker 1: up because it's so cold now now We're just like,
- 17:12Speaker 1: we gotta go. It's it's time. Ago. We have actually
- 17:15Speaker 1: missed the game praying. Man, nothing wrong with praying, that's nothing.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Point is he'll beat out tomorrow to cover the food. Today.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Jackie's cousin was praying one year and doing the prayer
- 17:37Speaker 1: it was so long. My son Jordan just said, Daddy,
- 17:40Speaker 1: when we're gonna eat, start laughing man, because they were
- 17:46Speaker 1: one thing about the kids. They will tell the truth.
- 17:49Speaker 1: They will tell the truth. Man. Ok So, y'all my
- 17:53Speaker 1: uncle Hell he does the prayer. He does the longest
- 17:55Speaker 1: prayer right then afterwards he makes everybody count like how
- 17:59Speaker 1: many family members are there? And we all three. After
- 18:05Speaker 1: it's over, Now you know somebody wasn't listening, so then
- 18:08Speaker 1: we have to start over. No, okay, do this for me,
- 18:15Speaker 1: if you're listening, if you can take the holiday prayer
- 18:18Speaker 1: and send it to me, get the prow and send
- 18:21Speaker 1: it to Tommy hopefully call and let me run it
- 18:24Speaker 1: next Yeah, let me get it right after the Black
- 18:27Speaker 1: Friday when we come. Here's the video I would like
- 18:29Speaker 1: to get. I'd like to get the vegan's eating greens
- 18:33Speaker 1: and the halfway done. Realize they realized it's a hamhog
- 18:37Speaker 1: up in the big jump off. There is good. I
- 18:52Speaker 1: had an aunt. I had an aunt who would only
- 18:54Speaker 1: eat the ham hocks. She didn't want you don't want.
- 18:59Speaker 1: She wanted that him had aunt. She that it didn't
- 19:03Speaker 1: have no teeth at all. One could kill a box
- 19:06Speaker 1: of peanut brill. I'm telling you, Shena, she'd write down
- 19:13Speaker 1: on it. Man, that's my same aunt. That my mother's sister,
- 19:19Speaker 1: my mother's older sister, who loved to see the body
- 19:23Speaker 1: at the funeral, even if she didn't know the person.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Her thing was, she had to go to see the body.
- 19:33Speaker 1: And that bends down. And that's the other one. That's
- 19:36Speaker 1: the other one. My mom had three sisters and to
- 19:40Speaker 1: take take me with him on a fascination with bodies.
- 19:47Speaker 1: She just had a fatation with to see how they looked.
- 19:51Speaker 1: But anyway, we're talking about family because we're getting ready
- 19:54Speaker 1: to see him. Yeah, yeah, here's when I got as
- 19:58Speaker 1: when you fixed, when your play get fixed on, when
- 20:00Speaker 1: you fix your plate. My green's got to be in
- 20:03Speaker 1: a different bowl from the rest of the food. You
- 20:08Speaker 1: My greens can't run all that green. Jews can't run
- 20:10Speaker 1: into that dressing. That's that's mustard. Mac. I don't want
- 20:18Speaker 1: mustard mac plate to have a dip in the middle
- 20:24Speaker 1: to almost drop it. Move move move. But I don't
- 20:30Speaker 1: say this though, Tommy. When I do that, it can
- 20:33Speaker 1: all be together. But now with my corn bread to
- 20:39Speaker 1: decide how I will put my corn bread in to
- 20:43Speaker 1: sogging this ratio to be Yeah, okay, wait, now see
- 20:49Speaker 1: I don't do corn bread, Carla, because we have a
- 20:52Speaker 1: corn bread dressing. So yeah, so I do rolls. I
- 20:56Speaker 1: just do the some people do. Listen that green jewice
- 21:01Speaker 1: can hit them, James, y'all that green juice that ain't
- 21:07Speaker 1: cos you don't want to. But oh, it's gonna be
- 21:14Speaker 1: some good eating though. That's holiday season. Yeah, we still
- 21:17Speaker 1: got holiday we didn't get to We're going to get
- 21:20Speaker 1: to it. Trust me. I know you're not gonna let
- 21:23Speaker 1: us forget that I got. I'm gonna show you the
- 21:25Speaker 1: rule that I got holiday love it. I'm just gonna
- 21:28Speaker 1: take We don't want to know this is something y'all
- 21:32Speaker 1: need to do. Is this something special that you don't
- 21:35Speaker 1: do every other day? Come on Thursday? Yeah all right, Junior,
- 21:41Speaker 1: thank you for your truth be told about the prayer.
- 21:45Speaker 1: We appreciate that. Yeah, we're very truthful. Coming up next,
- 21:52Speaker 1: it's the nephews, run that prank back. Right after this.

- 22:09Speaker 1: you got, nef. We don't need your mama dressing this year.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Oh lord, this hurts my because my mom cooked the
- 22:17Speaker 1: dressing for the family. My mother was good. What bens
- 22:22Speaker 1: you from the call a relative you missed yesterday? Here
- 22:25Speaker 1: go hello? Hello? Who is this? Ms? Clinton? Who is
- 22:31Speaker 1: this this bes? I'm college? Is MS Purvis there? Um?
- 22:36Speaker 1: You know she's not here right now, but this is
- 22:37Speaker 1: our daughter? Um? Is there a problem? Oh? No? This
- 22:41Speaker 1: this this being this Mama Mama Lord's nephew. Who is
- 22:45Speaker 1: this again? This blanda Mama Lord, Mama loa jo Ain't
- 22:51Speaker 1: it ain't correct? Mama Lord's Okay, I'm beeling. I'm her
- 22:57Speaker 1: nephew from the other side of the family. You say
- 22:59Speaker 1: your name? Whatnot? Glad that? Okay? We'll tell you are
- 23:02Speaker 1: supposed to get in and we used to meet everybody afternoon. Okay?
- 23:06Speaker 1: Uh is miss purvises she is your mama making the dresses. Yeah,
- 23:11Speaker 1: she's making enough for about forty five people. Um, we
- 23:14Speaker 1: actually um, this will discussed about a month ago, right,
- 23:17Speaker 1: y'all on the y'all they had the um conference call,
- 23:21Speaker 1: the conference good family had the conference call, right, yes, sir? Okay, Nah, listen,
- 23:26Speaker 1: what reason why they got me to call? They wanted
- 23:29Speaker 1: me to go in and call, and and I was
- 23:31Speaker 1: trying to give miss Purvis she's not there. You know,
- 23:34Speaker 1: she's not here. What's wrong? Okay, they're not gonna They're
- 23:38Speaker 1: not gonna need her to do the um to do
- 23:40Speaker 1: the dress. And why wouldn't they need to do dress.
- 23:43Speaker 1: She's been making it for ken years. We did, We
- 23:45Speaker 1: just discussed it. So what do you mean they say
- 23:48Speaker 1: that they got somebody down here that's gonna do the dresses,
- 23:50Speaker 1: especially since y'all traveling. Y'all ain't got to bring it,
- 23:53Speaker 1: you know, and be traveling with it. But they got
- 23:55Speaker 1: somebody gonna do the dressing. Okay, Well, first of all,
- 23:58Speaker 1: how are you you're you're being gee? What is your name? That? Whatnot?
- 24:02Speaker 1: My name? Benjamin? But they called me Benji? But but
- 24:04Speaker 1: but uh, like I say, uh, I'm on the other
- 24:07Speaker 1: side of the fact. I ain't on y'all side. Okay, Well,
- 24:10Speaker 1: I'm still trying to figure out why are you calling me?
- 24:13Speaker 1: Because she's been making a dressing for ten years, like
- 24:16Speaker 1: I said, And I mean, it's been discussed. So I
- 24:18Speaker 1: don't even know why why you're calling me. I don't
- 24:20Speaker 1: even know you. Okay, Well, what I'm trying to explain
- 24:23Speaker 1: to you this right here is that they got so y'all,
- 24:26Speaker 1: y'all ain't got to worry with bringing the dressing. They
- 24:29Speaker 1: got somebody gonna bring. They got somebody down here that's
- 24:31Speaker 1: gonna cook it, so and otherwhere with you know, if
- 24:34Speaker 1: you can tell Miss Pervish ain't got to worry about
- 24:36Speaker 1: the dressing this year. I was like, you want me
- 24:38Speaker 1: to tell my mama after she'd been making dressing for
- 24:41Speaker 1: ten years, that child say, y'all ain't worried about she
- 24:44Speaker 1: shouldn't have to make this ship because we're driving there
- 24:46Speaker 1: were dry every year. So I'm not gonna do that
- 24:49Speaker 1: to her. So I mean, and I don't I don't
- 24:51Speaker 1: even know who you are to be calling me anyway.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Why can't somebody calling me that I don't know regarding
- 24:56Speaker 1: it Okay, okay, you're good the right, I am blended.
- 25:00Speaker 1: All right, listen, let me say this because I I
- 25:02Speaker 1: don't mind saying what what everybody thinking, but most people
- 25:06Speaker 1: don't want to say. Let me just say this right here. Really,
- 25:09Speaker 1: what's going on is just right here. A lot of
- 25:11Speaker 1: people in the family, you know, don't really don't, don't
- 25:17Speaker 1: really like this pery of his dress, d Benjamin, he's
- 25:24Speaker 1: supposed to be. Let me sport this up in there,
- 25:27Speaker 1: my mom about making Tristen. You don't keep it and
- 25:31Speaker 1: we ain't bringing that home with us. So you can
- 25:34Speaker 1: tell your family that I said that because you understand me.
- 25:37Speaker 1: I mean, for first of all, you got to understand
- 25:40Speaker 1: that I'm bringing news that that that people didn't don't
- 25:43Speaker 1: voted on, and it's what everybody want to do, don't nobody? Well,
- 25:46Speaker 1: why is this Nick? How we had a meeting? She
- 25:50Speaker 1: been making it ten years? Ain't nobody's been saying nothing?
- 25:52Speaker 1: And a guess what when them up in the house,
- 25:54Speaker 1: nobody had better not be walking up and through that.
- 25:56Speaker 1: I'm talking about my MoMA either, and you know I
- 25:59Speaker 1: don't eat okay, but see right there, why why if
- 26:02Speaker 1: people don't like the dress in Glinda, why do you
- 26:04Speaker 1: want to make submit everybody to happen to eat it
- 26:07Speaker 1: if they don't like it? You don't. That's how I know.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I don't know you want to come. Well, I don't know,
- 26:12Speaker 1: no Benjamin, Ben who I want to do? My mama
- 26:16Speaker 1: Lord's nephew from the other side of the family exactly,
- 26:19Speaker 1: And they don't know yet. Okay, And it really really
- 26:22Speaker 1: to the bad all that I don't really know you.
- 26:25Speaker 1: But I'm but but I'm but I'm man enough. I'm
- 26:27Speaker 1: man enough call you and tell you what we're gonna
- 26:30Speaker 1: do it where we ain't gonna do what I know
- 26:32Speaker 1: ain't I said it wasn't I wantet it again. She's
- 26:35Speaker 1: gonna transic you gonna eat it, and we're gonna bund
- 26:39Speaker 1: my name. Okay, Okay, right there, listen. And I know
- 26:43Speaker 1: this might be hard for you. Don't understand what you
- 26:46Speaker 1: grew up with liking everybody else might not like you
- 26:50Speaker 1: to say what you want to. I don't even white.
- 26:54Speaker 1: So you weren't like it because you want in down around?
- 26:56Speaker 1: But she make it now. First of all, when y'all
- 26:59Speaker 1: get down here, it's gonna already be some more dressing here, Okay, okay,
- 27:04Speaker 1: and she got on that country and said, and we're
- 27:05Speaker 1: gonna see down and I'm gonna eat, and it's it's
- 27:09Speaker 1: not even what I mean'scuse no president in that I said.
- 27:12Speaker 1: I can say because your name's gonna hurt my mama feeling. Okay,
- 27:15Speaker 1: there ain't nobody to try. That's why I'm trying to
- 27:17Speaker 1: tell you to tell her don't make it now, so
- 27:19Speaker 1: she won't even bring it down. We don't conly get anyway. Hey, look,
- 27:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna say this here because every dealer you ain't
- 27:26Speaker 1: really understanding what I'm saying to you. I'm gonna say

- 35:00Speaker 1: with the news, and there's a lot going on. Let
- 35:02Speaker 1: me get to it. First of all, President Trump has
- 35:04Speaker 1: put North Korea back on the State sponsored terrorism list.
- 35:07Speaker 1: The United States is designating North Korea as a state
- 35:11Speaker 1: sponsor of terrorists. Should have happened a long time ago.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Should have happened years ago. Well, point of information on
- 35:18Speaker 1: North Korea was designated a state sponsor of terrorism before. However,
- 35:22Speaker 1: in two thousand six, President George W. Bush took it
- 35:24Speaker 1: off the list as a way of providing the North
- 35:27Speaker 1: with an incentive to negotiate an end to their nuclear
- 35:29Speaker 1: build up. That's what he did it for. This latest
- 35:31Speaker 1: move by President Trump is mostly symbolic, but what it
- 35:34Speaker 1: does signify that the Trump administration is prepared to take
- 35:37Speaker 1: a tougher stand against the Pieon Yang government. So more
- 35:40Speaker 1: sanctions are expected to be announced soon, and Trump is
- 35:43Speaker 1: hoping that China will exert more pressure on North Korea.
- 35:46Speaker 1: But so far and that hold your breath now. PBS
- 35:48Speaker 1: TV commentator Charlie Rose is being accused of sexual misconduct.
- 35:52Speaker 1: A Washington Post reports as eight women are accusing the
- 35:55Speaker 1: veteran newsman of groping them or walking naked in front
- 35:57Speaker 1: of them, telling one woman how he am about her
- 36:00Speaker 1: swimming naked uh and swinging it Rose seventy five years old.
- 36:04Speaker 1: He says he's deeply embarrassed and he's apologizing for his behavior.

- 36:17Speaker 1: has violated the rights of protesters demanding greater police accountability.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Justice Department review reportedly requested by both St. Louis's mayor,
- 36:25Speaker 1: the police commissioner there, a local Democratic congressman, and the

- 36:31Speaker 1: says the probe is gonna be looking into house St.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Louis cops have handled protesters ever since a judge found
- 36:37Speaker 1: a white now former St. Louis cop not guilty of
- 36:40Speaker 1: murder in the shooting death of a black man. A
- 36:43Speaker 1: separate federal lawsuit has already resulted in new limits on
- 36:46Speaker 1: when officers can use chemical weapons like pepper spray and
- 36:49Speaker 1: when they can break up a protest. Puerto Rico health
- 36:52Speaker 1: officials say the lack of clean drinking water has caused
- 36:55Speaker 1: an outbreak of something called leptosporosis. Authorities say there have
- 36:58Speaker 1: been seventy six suspected cases of the bacterial infection since
- 37:01Speaker 1: her came. Maria devastated that island. Finally, sad news, legendary
- 37:05Speaker 1: singer and actress Della Rees has died. Delar Rees, most
- 37:07Speaker 1: recently star of CBS is long running spiritual drama Touched

- 38:28Speaker 1: lover's mouth. That is what's going on Thanksgiving. That that's
- 38:32Speaker 1: what I look forward to, is the banana putting. You
- 38:35Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. It's alan anyway, idio Allen and
- 38:42Speaker 1: I love bananas. You know I'm the one that does
- 38:44Speaker 1: all the slicing of the bananas and the banana white
- 38:47Speaker 1: first getting Oh, I love playing tains. I call them
- 38:50Speaker 1: playing tains. They're harder. They're much harder than banana. I
- 38:56Speaker 1: was just careful. It's the texture. But let's said, have
- 39:00Speaker 1: you had them with the potato chips. Um, Charlotte and
- 39:02Speaker 1: Carla plant potato chips. Those are acceptable foods. That's always so. Anyway,
- 39:17Speaker 1: November is banana putting, lovers. You have got to get
- 39:21Speaker 1: you something good banana putting for the holidays. That's something
- 39:24Speaker 1: you want to do. And there's always one person in

- 39:28Speaker 1: of course there's always something that don't know what the
- 39:30Speaker 1: hell they're doing. So you have to be careful on
- 39:32Speaker 1: picking your pudding. Pick your pudding. Now you pronounced it
- 39:37Speaker 1: vanilla wavers a nilla waver. Now it's just I leave
- 39:41Speaker 1: the ball. Now you gotta flip that be putting a

- 54:57Speaker 1: My dad's wilding out in Mexico. That's the subject today, exactly, nephew,
- 55:07Speaker 1: Steven Shirley. I'm twenty five years old and my emotionally
- 55:11Speaker 1: fragile dad. It's fifty six. Recently, my dad had a
- 55:16Speaker 1: midlife crisis and quit his federal job and moved to Mexico.
- 55:21Speaker 1: At first, he was partying and having wild sescapades seccapades daily,
- 55:26Speaker 1: and after doing this for about five months. He called
- 55:29Speaker 1: to tell me that he fell in love and he's
- 55:31Speaker 1: getting married. Despite his foolishness, I was happy for him
- 55:39Speaker 1: until I found out that his fiance is twenty two
- 55:42Speaker 1: years old, she has four kids and they communicate through
- 55:45Speaker 1: an app. Thence, she speaks no English and he speaks
- 55:49Speaker 1: no Spanish. The worst part is that she was a
- 55:53Speaker 1: prostitute and that's how they met. Let him read the glow,
- 56:00Speaker 1: then he confessed. I love it. Then he confessed, and
- 56:02Speaker 1: he spent his entire four oh one k on her
- 56:06Speaker 1: and her friends at a strip club. He plans to
- 56:10Speaker 1: marry this woman, leave her four kids in Mexico, and
- 56:15Speaker 1: move home to live with my grandma for a year.
- 56:18Speaker 1: I called my grandma and told her everything. The wedding
- 56:21Speaker 1: was scheduled for last week, but had to be postponed
- 56:24Speaker 1: because he found out that his name is misspelled on
- 56:27Speaker 1: his birth certificate. I praised God for intervening. My dad
- 56:33Speaker 1: thinks they're in love, but I'm afraid that once this
- 56:36Speaker 1: girl get what she wants, gets what she wants, she'll
- 56:39Speaker 1: leave my dad. I love my dad too much to
- 56:42Speaker 1: watch him be this stupid. What can I do to
- 56:45Speaker 1: stop this. Please help me, I mean, thank you, nevew,
- 56:51Speaker 1: thank you so much for adding some color to this craziness.
- 56:55Speaker 1: All right, Um, I really don't think there's anything you
- 56:58Speaker 1: can do, because you're you're at is certainly old enough
- 57:01Speaker 1: to know better. He's just not doing better. He knows, um,
- 57:05Speaker 1: even though you did say he was emotionally fragile. Uh.
- 57:08Speaker 1: The sad part is there's nothing you can do. He's
- 57:12Speaker 1: a grown man. I know he's your dad and you
- 57:15Speaker 1: love him and you want to help. But he's making
- 57:17Speaker 1: his own choices right now, albeit very bad, bad choices.
- 57:23Speaker 1: But he's not listening to you. He's not listening to anyone.
- 57:26Speaker 1: And I doubt very seriously if he's going to be
- 57:29Speaker 1: able to move in with Grandma, with this woman who
- 57:32Speaker 1: used to be a hooker and all of that. Uh.
- 57:34Speaker 1: He's just not making smart decisions right now. His life
- 57:37Speaker 1: is in a downward spiral, although he doesn't know it yet.
- 57:41Speaker 1: The best you can do right now is just to
- 57:43Speaker 1: keep praying and hoping that God continues to intervene when
- 57:46Speaker 1: he did when he uh, you know, has something to do,
- 57:49Speaker 1: you think with the misspelling of his name on the
- 57:51Speaker 1: birth certificate. But this is this is really crazy. I mean,
- 57:55Speaker 1: your dad's throwing his whole life away on this woman.
- 57:58Speaker 1: And h he already threw with retirement away. So you
- 58:02Speaker 1: gotta keep him in prayer because he's a grown man.
- 58:04Speaker 1: You have to keep him in prayer. Jay, what you got?
- 58:07Speaker 1: I like the math on this. The mathis how old
- 58:09Speaker 1: is he? He's fifty six? In the lady is home,
- 58:12Speaker 1: she's twenty two. Ffty six goes into twenty two? How
- 58:14Speaker 1: many times? As many times as he can? That's what
- 58:18Speaker 1: I'm right, is many times? Is Papa can't do it? Papa? Don't, Papa, don't?
- 58:32Speaker 1: Papa don't? Yes, Papa, dude, you get one time to
- 58:37Speaker 1: enjoy yourself. What man? I know that definitely don't want
- 58:42Speaker 1: a woman that wants a woman that can't speak English.
- 58:45Speaker 1: Every man wants a woman. I don't care what sire
- 58:53Speaker 1: was speaks no English. So she cash back because I
- 59:00Speaker 1: don't know what you're talking about. Makes your papa has
- 59:03Speaker 1: a pretn up and make sure his wills are tightened
- 59:06Speaker 1: up and everything. Papa enjoy himself. This is set life.
- 59:12Speaker 1: This is Papa's life. Goodhead. I'm with Papa on yourself. Man,
- 59:30Speaker 1: I'll tell you, Junior, idiotic decisions. Come on, guys, junior. Next,
- 59:44Speaker 1: I think I think y'all missing the boat on this.
- 59:48Speaker 1: I think I think there's something here that you all

- 1:16:09Speaker 1: did to me. We're shopping. This is right after I
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: had my baby, shortly nine years ago, right after the headsha.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: We went shopping in the mall. I tried on this dress.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: I said, what you think, sirley? She said, Oh, you'll
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: be all right, girl. You just get you some spanks

- 1:17:00Speaker 1: all right? Listen coming up to the top of the hour.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: Thanksgiving is a day to make family announcements. We'll be
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: back let you know what they are right after this.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steven Show. All right, Thanksgiving is
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: one time of the year you have the whole family,
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: usually in one place. Right. Thanksgiving is one time of
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: year you can make a big announcement to everyone at once.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: Enough relatives, enough relatives are there that presumably your family
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: won't make a scene. You clear your throat and say,
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: excuse me, I have some news. Guys, can you share
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: anything that was announced at the Thanksgiving table on this
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: radio anything? No one stood up and said they had news.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: They were getting married, they were leaving him, Yeah, they
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: were getting of more. Uh. They don't even be a
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: formal announcement. Just you just go hear it over everybody.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: They're turned the volume down of the TV and say,
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: Calvin went back in today, he would he just went
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: in an hour ago. Did the announcement? We get m h. Yeah,
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: I can't let me tell you when my my parents, Yeah,
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: I wish I had would have met my parents because
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: they were a unique group. Once you meet my parents,
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: you have met my friends. You would have understood me more.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: All right, my mother and father got divorced and they
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: didn't make the announcement at the thanksgiving them and my
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: mama said, I'm leaving brown again. So you're like yeah,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: because she would leave my daddy like every year, so
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: this this time she did leave. She did leave. She
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: who doubt? But every day they saw each other until
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: they died. Every damn day if my daddy didn't come
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: see my mama, who wasn't living there, who wasn't living
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: with her, or she came to his house, not only
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: did she come to his house, she would take stuff
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: out every day. There's my part. I left my part
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: I thought I left. This was now do you now?
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: Do you understand me? You Patty, take that part. There's
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: my brother. I knew I left that rug and he
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: was like, and Ley, just take the damn rugs. In
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: my grandmother's neighborhood, that was a man that lived across
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: the street from my grandmother and four four four houses
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: down was his wife's house, and he would he would
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: walk down their health, donner, health, breakfast, whatever, come back
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: to his house. They live was down for me each other.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: It was crazy thing I have seen I've seen this
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: guy who's he's like that hint, but he would walk
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: to this lady's house every morning too to go. I
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: don't know what he was doing. Man, it couldn't be
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: that much work. That's perfect, that's perfect for you. You
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: don't want to live with your spouse. You could still
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: be married and maybe not just lived down the street. Yeah,
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: and just go visit. Maybe not marrying. You're not marrying
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: kind work for Ja'm not marrying. It doesn't work out
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: for him. You have to work, make it work out,
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: you know what? You right there? When you hear people
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: talk about marriage, you'll say, well, how is married? It's
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: worth a man's a lot of work. Well, I already
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: got a job. You're gonna miss out, good holiday, loving man.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: You're gonna miss out on that that will not be married.
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: Tell him about it, have them call, well, what what
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: is it it? Just tell me this Jay, because I
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: just want to understand. Is it just because you don't
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Jeff Sessions approach. I don't recall that.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: I can't remember and Ronald Reagan before him. Yeah, you
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: just don't like the commitment. You don't remember, you know,
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: I may have. I just can't. I think you don't
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: like the commitment. I can't recall being from Alabama. I
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: couldn't tell you. I don't know. Okay, well how about this?
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: What could we get? Could we talk to any of
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: your ex wives? I don't recall any of them at
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: this particular, I don't. I don't remember. I could have
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: had I love interview. So you're not friends with them
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: after your break up? But I wouldn't say friends. But
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: they're not evil to me. It's more a relief that
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: I'm gone, which why they're nice to me. Are the
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: ones that that have been divorced. They're happy that he's
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: gone something. I don't know what people mean when they
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: say they're not the marrying kind. I mean they could
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: mean anything. I tell you what it means. The people
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: who are not married are not the marriage You don't know,
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: but you can be. Yeah, you have to learn from
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: your mistakes. That's the other event why I'm married. People
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: so insisting of getting people. It's too much. Really, you
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: know what marriage really should expire in seven years, and
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: you just you and you think about to do this again.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: It really should mean the worst person on earth. It
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: should expire. Everything expires. Food, expires. You know your license expires.
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: Everything expires town right, Yes, things have things that have
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: the right to expire. If you want to, you know, reinstated,
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: then you do that. But it's expire. It does expire.

- 1:32:06Speaker 1: we're gonna reel it in because we have to introduce
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: and right here we was just reeling it out. We'll
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: be back to wrap up the show at forty nine
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: after the hour with just one more thing. You're listening
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Here we go with
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: the last break of the day. With just one more thing, Carla,
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: you're on next with your cooking tips, your your eras
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: and oversights to avoid stress free Thanksgiving. I like it, Yeah,
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: cooking turkey. I don't know what what else is cook
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: I cooking the sad I gotta cook, coming about of
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: house to pick up the turk. What are we talking about?
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: What is called free cooking too? Cooking though, guys, it's
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: hosting can be stressful. So much happening in the kitchen,
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: so you know it's easy to make mistakes. But so
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: I got some common Thanksgiving cooking eras and oversights to avoid.
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: So your Turkey day is stress free? Not planning ahead?
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: Number one thing you gotta plan ahead to make it work.
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: So you gotta double triple check your shopping list, playing
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: it all out. Your prep times, Junior, we talked about
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: this the other day. Consider your prep times, cooked times,
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: you know, just things making sure surely oven spaces available.
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: I don't know why I'm talking to you. These are
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: the things that you have to do. I don't know
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: why take those books out, all right, forgetting the appetizers,
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: forgetting the advertisers, because you know, we get so wrapped
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: up in the cooking the sides and cooking of us
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: and we forget that. Folks come over, they're hungry. Yeah,
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: you want somebody waiting in, just a little somebody that
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: sounds good, that sounds like, that's sound good, alright, alright,
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: serving all the hot dishes. This goes back to planning.
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: You can only heat up so many things that there's
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: only so much and you got none right, right, there's
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: only so much of the space that you have, so
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: you got to serve something like the salads, and you know,
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: get all that together. Then let's see. All right, Tommy,
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: you don't have this problem over cooking the turkey, because
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: Tommy is a beast at frying the turkey. We get
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: a fried turkey from Tommy every year, So Tommy, break
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: it down, give them some pointers on frying turkey coming
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: all right, So here we go. So, first of all,
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: if you've never fried a turkey before, the most important
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: thing is throwing your turkey completely out. That is the
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: most important thing. You're gonna fry it. But certainly, here's
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: the deal when you burn your whole house down. What
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: you're talking about? Sure, I'm just sure. When when people
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: till my food, it's not the time for you to
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: chat me when they talk about cooking food, just kicking.
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: So anyway, I seasoned this turkey up real good. You
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: have a syringe, you shoot it up. I shoot it up. Uh.
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: My mother created this this season that she put together,
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: so I have never forgotten it. She taught it to me.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: Shoot the turkey up completely. Let the turkeys sit in
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: the frieze. You inject shoot up. But anyway, shoot the
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: turkey up and put him in the fridge. I don't
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: fry my turkey till Thursday morning, all right. So I
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: tried to shoot him up on Tuesday and let him
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: sit in the fridge till Thursday. Dropping me in like
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: right before the hour before dinner. I dropped the turkeys,
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: so I got I got three deep fry of course
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: from our friends at Master Bill. A turkey is fifty minutes.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: It's it's three minutes per pound, three minutes per pound. Yeah,
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: so if you buy a turkey that's uh one pound,
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: you just cook it for three minutes. And nobody got
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: a one pound weep talking about food? What is this ty?
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: This turkey been on drugs with one pound? Okay, okay, alright, okay,
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: you realized my head. Okay, sorry, if you don't know
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: you are frying it in peanut oil, that is as
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: Now do you tell people timing to make sure that
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: outside when they're from but well you know you know
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: Master Bild has a butter ball indoor cooking too, so
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: I have both of them, have both. I have it
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: where I got three fries gone. You can just drop
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: them all in when I put in fifteen minutes, when
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: I pull them up, I got three turkeys and they're ready.
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: And what you want a time and like call is
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: saying all insides need to be ready to pull that
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: turkey out of time and because more people burn their
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: houses down trying to fry turkey doing the holidays. It's
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: just not for rookie. Don't do it amateurs. No, no,
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: you gotta know what you're doing. But just like Tommy says,
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: thanks to Master Built, we have indoor uh friars now
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: so you can fry your turkey indoors and be safe.
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: So I went home yesterday, shot up a bunch of
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: turkeys because you know I'm in Detroit now, shot up
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: a bunch of turkeys and make sure my family got
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: what they need. You know, my son will drop them
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: in and and hopefully the boy won't burn. How many
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: how many checkers are you cooking for other people? Turning
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: for other people outside of me? About? I shot up
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: five extra ones, and of course call is in that
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: five checks has four? No, I don't know that I
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: love them. It's like when he takes us out to dinner.
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: We're not paying. Now you're gonna change that attitude though,
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: I'm start making y'all pick up something. I want to pay,
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: but you're I don't think it's gonna work. When I
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: got one more tip, guys for the host not accepting help.
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: Hosting is far from easy. It is hard work. So
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: accept offers from people who want to help. You wash
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: the dishes, tabletting the table. You ain't gotta be superwoman,
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: because I will try to be super woman. Last year
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: Thanksgiving was at my house and we need to come
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: on and before we go, wash your damn hands while
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: you cook it. Yes, we gotta have it. Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving.
