- 2:01Speaker 1: H huh, I shore will good morning everybody. You're listening
- 2:05Speaker 1: to the voice, Come on dig me now, one and
- 2:08Speaker 1: only Steve Harvey got a radio show, man, Yeah, I do. Man.
- 2:15Speaker 1: God been good to me. Man, He's been so good
- 2:18Speaker 1: to me. Wow. You know why I say it like that.
- 2:24Speaker 1: What makes it amazing is because it's been in spite
- 2:27Speaker 1: of myself. I mean, you know what I mean by that.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I mean I mean that he's been good to me
- 2:35Speaker 1: in spite of all the craziness I've done, all the
- 2:40Speaker 1: foolishness I've gotten myself involved with, and not only got
- 2:44Speaker 1: but knowingly got myself involved with, all of the stupid
- 2:49Speaker 1: decisions I've made. Put all that to the side, and
- 2:55Speaker 1: he's still been good to me. Bring it all and
- 2:58Speaker 1: put it on the plate and he still being good
- 3:01Speaker 1: to me. Man. That's amazing. Man, and I'm sure there's
- 3:04Speaker 1: a lot of people that can say the exact same thing.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I mean, come on, man, I got you, ain't famous,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I got anybody, got no microphone in your face, I
- 3:12Speaker 1: got nobody. Ain't got no spotlight on you. I got nobody,
- 3:15Speaker 1: ain't got no camera in your face. I got nobody problem.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Ain't your body blogging about you. But let me tell
- 3:19Speaker 1: you so if you break it down and be real
- 3:22Speaker 1: about it, Oh, you haven't done something outside the box.
- 3:26Speaker 1: You haven't done something ladies included. You've done something out
- 3:29Speaker 1: the box. You woke up and went what did I
- 3:31Speaker 1: do that for? Oh? We've all done it. So when
- 3:36Speaker 1: all that said and done, God still loves you, man,
- 3:40Speaker 1: God still loves you, still wants you the best for you,
- 3:43Speaker 1: still considers you his child. And it's willing, it's willing
- 3:48Speaker 1: man to show you your future. He is willing to
- 3:51Speaker 1: show you your life. He is willing to let you
- 3:55Speaker 1: take a peek at the blueprint. Man. That's an amazing
- 3:59Speaker 1: God right there, because I don't I know, I couldn't
- 4:02Speaker 1: do it. I couldn't do it. I'm glad it's him,
- 4:05Speaker 1: you know. Today, Man, I want to encourage brothers out
- 4:08Speaker 1: there and when I say brothers, I'm talking to everybody
- 4:10Speaker 1: that's of the male species. I don't care about your color.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I really really don't. I don't even have time for
- 4:15Speaker 1: that in my day a matter a matter of fact.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Sometimes when you get to discussing race, I just get
- 4:20Speaker 1: tired of it. Sometimes I just wish, you know, some
- 4:23Speaker 1: days I just want to wake up, just do me.
- 4:26Speaker 1: You know, I got what what the skin tone is.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I got that, But I just want to wake up
- 4:31Speaker 1: some days and just going by my business and do me.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I don't want to have to deal with it. Somebody.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I get tired of talking about the issues. Ain't gonna
- 4:37Speaker 1: make them go away, But sometimes I get tired. So
- 4:39Speaker 1: the damn talking to brothers, all the brothers of the
- 4:42Speaker 1: male species. I'm talking about men today. Man, If if
- 4:48Speaker 1: you ain't doing it all, if you're feeling empty, man,
- 4:51Speaker 1: start today completing your process and your journey. And you
- 4:55Speaker 1: know what I'm saying by that, if there's a part
- 4:57Speaker 1: of you just missing as a man. And and now, man,
- 5:02Speaker 1: I'm talking to you. So you know, some ladies listening,
- 5:04Speaker 1: but you know what I'm talking about. It's it's some
- 5:07Speaker 1: part of you that's missing as a man if you
- 5:10Speaker 1: ain't really been in touch with your kids like you
- 5:13Speaker 1: supposed to now for whatever the reason is. And please no,
- 5:17Speaker 1: I do understand how sometimes women can use children as pawns.
- 5:23Speaker 1: It happens all the time. I've been through it. I've
- 5:27Speaker 1: been through it, man, I know what it feels like,
- 5:29Speaker 1: man to want to do something. But because you ain't
- 5:32Speaker 1: got this or you ain't doing this, then I ain't
- 5:34Speaker 1: gonna let you have this. You gotta fight through, fellas,
- 5:38Speaker 1: you got to fight through. You got to fulfill your
- 5:43Speaker 1: end of the deal. And I got how difficult they're
- 5:46Speaker 1: making it. I got how man, it's gonna come with
- 5:49Speaker 1: some drama, but you gotta fight through it. Because man,
- 5:52Speaker 1: we need fathers to be fathers. That's really what we need.
- 5:56Speaker 1: If you're a man out there and you are a
- 5:58Speaker 1: father of a child, we need you do your job.
- 6:02Speaker 1: We I'm talking about the our community, our situation, us
- 6:08Speaker 1: as a people, all of us. We need you to
- 6:11Speaker 1: be a father period. Hey man, I ain't coming down
- 6:16Speaker 1: on you. I'm just your boy. I'm your man, And
- 6:19Speaker 1: I've been in the same predicament, in the same hole
- 6:23Speaker 1: myself where I couldn't get to them, where they were
- 6:26Speaker 1: used as pawns, where they were told things about me
- 6:30Speaker 1: that wasn't even true. I've been through it. You can't
- 6:34Speaker 1: see them, you don't come on okay, okay, I got
- 6:35Speaker 1: all that. You ain't sent this. You ain't okay, hey, hey,
- 6:38Speaker 1: got all that. If if you can call them sometimes,
- 6:44Speaker 1: tell them you're thinking about them, tell them you love them.
- 6:47Speaker 1: If you can get a letter to them, if you
- 6:50Speaker 1: can get a message to your children through one of
- 6:52Speaker 1: your relatives, start the process today. Be a father. It's
- 6:59Speaker 1: your job now. Because you ignoring him, or you acting
- 7:02Speaker 1: like they ain't over there, or you to back him
- 7:05Speaker 1: out of your mind because the situation got too difficult.
- 7:08Speaker 1: I got that. I got that. But you got to
- 7:11Speaker 1: step up and be fatherless. You got to write a letter.
- 7:14Speaker 1: You gotta send the money. If she talking about it.
- 7:16Speaker 1: If you don't send all the money, you ain't gonna
- 7:18Speaker 1: see him. Send what you got if she if taking
- 7:20Speaker 1: it over there's too much drama, Send it through a relative,
- 7:23Speaker 1: Give it to a mama, give it to her sister,
- 7:25Speaker 1: ask her to take it over there and do something
- 7:27Speaker 1: for the baby. Because okay, okay, you can't deal with
- 7:30Speaker 1: the drama. I got that, and I know it's much
- 7:33Speaker 1: to pay when you had to deal with that, because
- 7:36Speaker 1: I clearly I know hell have no fury like a
- 7:39Speaker 1: woman scorn. Please know. I know that. Please know, And
- 7:42Speaker 1: that's a real statement. That ain't no saying. Steve got that,
- 7:46Speaker 1: that's the truth. But do what you gotta do. Sometimes
- 7:51Speaker 1: you have to apologize. Sometimes an apology goes a long
- 7:55Speaker 1: way to your children. Just hey, look, because I've made
- 7:59Speaker 1: the apology before. Hey man, look, I'm sorry I wasn't
- 8:04Speaker 1: there for you. I was out grinding and hustling and
- 8:07Speaker 1: I wasn't paying attention to you, and I should have been.
- 8:11Speaker 1: And I apologize now. I imagine, man, there's days where
- 8:14Speaker 1: you was telling people I was your father up at
- 8:16Speaker 1: the school and they wasn't believing you. I apologize for
- 8:19Speaker 1: sending you through that. But now, man, I'll tell you what.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I made some mistakes, and I got it together. I
- 8:26Speaker 1: want me and you to move forward as father and son.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I want me and you to move forward as father
- 8:31Speaker 1: and daughter. I want to be in your life. I
- 8:34Speaker 1: ain't got a lot, but guess what, I know a lot.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Because if you're a man and you a father, please know,
- 8:39Speaker 1: you know something that child don't know. You have information,
- 8:43Speaker 1: you have experience. That's all they need sometimes to have
- 8:46Speaker 1: somebody to talk to. That daughter yours just needs to
- 8:50Speaker 1: know from her daddy, how should a man treat me? Dad?
- 8:55Speaker 1: What should I look for in a man? See, they'll
- 8:57Speaker 1: take that information from you because they know it's coming
- 9:00Speaker 1: from the right place. And then you know that your
- 9:03Speaker 1: son needs you because you know how difficult it is
- 9:07Speaker 1: if you're trying to be a man without your daddy.
- 9:09Speaker 1: You already know how funky that is right there. So
- 9:13Speaker 1: come on, man and match your mistakes and move forward.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Call your kids, write a letter, get a phone number
- 9:20Speaker 1: on them, send a text, drop a message, send a
- 9:23Speaker 1: note up to the school. Do something. Man. If those
- 9:27Speaker 1: of us that are fathers would just be fathers, I
- 9:32Speaker 1: could shut the mentoring camp down. Now. I will say
- 9:37Speaker 1: I apologize because I don't want you to think I'm
- 9:39Speaker 1: coming down on you. But I've been through this myself.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I ain't really coming down. I'm just reminding you this
- 9:45Speaker 1: is our job. These are our children, this is our responsibility.
- 9:49Speaker 1: We all men. There is no excuses. You don't get
- 9:54Speaker 1: you don't get. Cut a break on that one. Sorry,
- 9:57Speaker 1: you're listening to show ladies gentlemen, boys, girls, animal trainers, parakeets, pigeons,
- 10:09Speaker 1: Buffalo's treat, dwelling monkeys. Um, I'm ana covering everything very
- 10:22Speaker 1: park products. That's for Mississippi Monica. UM, chitling needles, vegans,
- 10:30Speaker 1: Welcome to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. I will say this.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I think that I have discovered that I have antibodies
- 10:45Speaker 1: against COVID nineteen. And I'm only saying this because I
- 10:49Speaker 1: think I have anybody's against it because of devouring chitless
- 10:55Speaker 1: for thirty eight years. I think my body built up
- 10:58Speaker 1: an immune system that if you can eat chitlings for
- 11:02Speaker 1: thirty eight years, nothing can come in here and affect me.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I'm just making that a theory. It's not probably a fact.
- 11:11Speaker 1: It's just something I came up with. You know, you
- 11:14Speaker 1: know how you come up with something that that's kind
- 11:16Speaker 1: of stupid. You ever came up with a theory that
- 11:18Speaker 1: was stupid. That's my stupid theory of the year. If
- 11:26Speaker 1: you've eaten chitlings for over fifteen years you can't get COVID. Yeah,
- 11:32Speaker 1: that's pretty I'm chi. I don't know how to follow that.
- 11:41Speaker 1: That's okay. Don't worry about Colin for Rell you ain't
- 11:45Speaker 1: even got to speak, Julia, I'm time. Are you with me?
- 11:51Speaker 1: Let's gil everybody anant know that that could be true. Man, Hey,
- 11:59Speaker 1: just pop Eyes have a food trunk. I don't know.
- 12:04Speaker 1: You got a hell of a lemonade. I take it
- 12:06Speaker 1: that lemonade. They got a frozen cane lemonade or something
- 12:13Speaker 1: that's off the train. Yeah, it's not too sweet and
- 12:15Speaker 1: it's not too tart. It's just right. I never understood
- 12:18Speaker 1: the debate between who had the better chicken sandwich, Popeyes
- 12:22Speaker 1: or Chick fil A. I never understood. I've never been
- 12:26Speaker 1: the head of popeyed chicken sandwich though. See, and that's
- 12:29Speaker 1: what started this year. It all started with your chicken
- 12:36Speaker 1: because that crazy you write collar and after that and
- 12:39Speaker 1: then you know the Popeyes commercial. I love the lady
- 12:43Speaker 1: saying I'm experiencing some things hill I like her, but
- 12:48Speaker 1: I cannot stand that dude when he goes sitting there
- 12:52Speaker 1: looking all special. That's too much sitting there looking all special.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Don't do all that chicken black ass off of the
- 13:13Speaker 1: loving on that chicken like that. They were the same
- 13:16Speaker 1: to me, what the girl and the guy. No, the
- 13:22Speaker 1: girls was genuine, hers was genuine. He was trying to
- 13:28Speaker 1: be on a commercial. All right, yeah, looking all specialists,
- 13:34Speaker 1: So what you're gonna buite it? Fody? All right, look
- 13:36Speaker 1: coming up in thirty two minutes after the hour, Steve,
- 13:39Speaker 1: your favorite segment, asked the CLO. Right, you're listening to show?
- 13:47Speaker 1: All right, so Steve, everyone is really loving your advice
- 13:50Speaker 1: during your favorite segment, asked the cello Chief Love Officers,
- 13:55Speaker 1: I have to ask you. Did I Did I do
- 13:57Speaker 1: anything that was good and ignorant yesterday? Anything? How about everything? Everybody? Yeah?
- 14:05Speaker 1: All right, all right, I'm back to normal. Now I'm
- 14:07Speaker 1: gonna try to help somebody. Oh, if you insist, all right.
- 14:14Speaker 1: This one's from Susannah in New York. She says, last night,
- 14:17Speaker 1: my son told me the funniest thing I've ever heard
- 14:20Speaker 1: about his auntie. It's his father's sister, and she's very
- 14:24Speaker 1: heavy chested, and she wears really good bras, so they're
- 14:27Speaker 1: always up high at attention. My son is six, and
- 14:31Speaker 1: his auntie likes to give him a big old bear hug. Well,
- 14:35Speaker 1: last night he told me that he hates it when
- 14:38Speaker 1: she grabs him because his face ends up in her
- 14:40Speaker 1: bra and he said it is always musty in there.
- 14:45Speaker 1: He wants me to tell her to stop hugging him.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I will tell her to stop hugging him. But should
- 14:52Speaker 1: I tell her? Why should I? Well, first of all,
- 14:56Speaker 1: you started this off wrong. You said, my son said
- 15:01Speaker 1: to me, the funniest thing I've ever heard. That's not
- 15:04Speaker 1: the funniest thing we've heard. I just wanted to point
- 15:08Speaker 1: that out when that damn funny. So I was disappointed
- 15:13Speaker 1: as the story unfold. Yeah, you know, it's the funniest
- 15:17Speaker 1: thing I've ever heard. I went, oh my god, this
- 15:19Speaker 1: is gonna be good. It's musty, and now, well you
- 15:22Speaker 1: know he's six. That ain't the mustiest thing you've ever
- 15:27Speaker 1: smelled me. So it's a lot of disappointment in this
- 15:32Speaker 1: whole set up. So I really don't have no advice
- 15:35Speaker 1: for her or the damn six year old. You're gonna
- 15:37Speaker 1: get hugged whenever her big ass want to hug you.
- 15:40Speaker 1: How about that? That's what's gonna happen to you because
- 15:42Speaker 1: you six. You know how many times I had to
- 15:44Speaker 1: hug relatives I didn't want to. You're gonna be getting
- 15:46Speaker 1: the same hugs to you about twelve. But don't she
- 15:50Speaker 1: need some powder up there? Now? She gonna get bigger
- 15:54Speaker 1: dogs where she had. Now she gonna swell. She only
- 15:58Speaker 1: gonna get bigger. And you can't put potty in your
- 16:01Speaker 1: cleavage and show it at the same time. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 1: it's not good for you. Uh okay, So you heard
- 16:13Speaker 1: them too talking, So hey, you do that. I'm just
- 16:20Speaker 1: y'all have sat and I just noticed you just gonna
- 16:27Speaker 1: cake upna look like corn starch on the baby dip.
- 16:31Speaker 1: If you all right, now, come on, let's go time
- 16:36Speaker 1: it in. Yeah, nobody, it's it's yea to direct question.
- 16:43Speaker 1: You're walking up on some charges. Look at your uncle
- 16:49Speaker 1: coming to your rescue. All right. This is from Quirky
- 16:52Speaker 1: and Charleston, South Carolina. Quirky says, my fiance treats me
- 16:56Speaker 1: like a queen, but I need him to try one
- 16:58Speaker 1: thing for me. He has strong Christian values, but he
- 17:02Speaker 1: finally gave in and we've been having pre marital sex.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I feel like, if we're going to have sex, we
- 17:08Speaker 1: should do everything. He won't do everything, though. I put
- 17:12Speaker 1: chocolate sauce on it more an edible cherry flavored underwear,
- 17:16Speaker 1: and he still says he's not going down there. I
- 17:19Speaker 1: do it for him. So what's the problem is there
- 17:23Speaker 1: something that if you think he will consider doing after
- 17:27Speaker 1: we get married. Were you disappointed in that? H First
- 17:37Speaker 1: of all, quirky, want to get quirky. So let's just
- 17:40Speaker 1: start that. Want to get quirky. Now, I don't listen
- 17:47Speaker 1: to me. I know every boy has said when he
- 17:52Speaker 1: first found out about that, he would never do that.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Every boy has said that when they first found that.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I ain't gonna do that. My brother told me, keep
- 18:05Speaker 1: living food, he said, quis saying what you ain't gonna
- 18:11Speaker 1: ever do? My brother told me, he said, boy, you
- 18:15Speaker 1: don't understand how good it is. Answer my question? Move on?
- 18:24Speaker 1: Do you do you enjoy your job? Do you enjoy
- 18:27Speaker 1: working here? Because you won't be you keep it up?
- 18:32Speaker 1: So anyway? Anyway, I don't know how old you are, ma'am.
- 18:39Speaker 1: But like I said, every boy has said it when
- 18:42Speaker 1: they first heard about it. Oh, I ain't gonna do that.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Every boy I know that ever said it. Don't done it.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Jack may look forward. Oh there you go. Okay, I
- 18:58Speaker 1: think you've answered that sufficiently. Thank you? Moving on? Did
- 19:05Speaker 1: you just hear what I said? We are moving on?
- 19:09Speaker 1: Tell me be quiet. Reese in Lansing, Michigan says, all
- 19:13Speaker 1: my life, all my life, I began to fight. Oh
- 19:18Speaker 1: my line jodacye Jodas Jodacy Junior. All my life, I've
- 19:25Speaker 1: been a hard sleeper and I used to wake up
- 19:28Speaker 1: mornings and my husband would have slept on the couch
- 19:31Speaker 1: all night. Well, last weekend, I had a stomach ache,
- 19:34Speaker 1: so I was up in the middle of the night.
- 19:36Speaker 1: My husband wasn't in bed or in the den. I
- 19:38Speaker 1: looked outside and he was sitting in a woman's car.
- 19:41Speaker 1: He jumped out and told her to drive off. His
- 19:46Speaker 1: pants were unzipped, and he said it was a coincidence
- 19:49Speaker 1: and she was a former co worker that needed advice.
- 19:52Speaker 1: What do you think would have gone down if I
- 19:54Speaker 1: hadn't walked out when I did. It was two thirty am.
- 19:57Speaker 1: By the way, should I believe him? Well? Good thing?
- 20:02Speaker 1: Your stomach up? Oh you have never found out right,
- 20:09Speaker 1: See behind every pain there is a little gift. So
- 20:12Speaker 1: your stomach was just tow up. You're trying to go
- 20:15Speaker 1: to the bathroom. You look outside. He's sitting in the
- 20:18Speaker 1: car with a woman giving advice. With his pass down
- 20:24Speaker 1: there was just sip. I'm giving advice. When my pass
- 20:29Speaker 1: down to locks of it. You showed him instruction and
- 20:35Speaker 1: not advice. Yea, sound like it was instructions and not advice.
- 20:45Speaker 1: All right, we gotta go. Thank you. I think up
- 20:50Speaker 1: coming up next, nephew, tell me he's run that break
- 20:53Speaker 1: back right after this. You're listening. Coming up at the
- 20:59Speaker 1: top of the hour, Miss Anna's standing by with more
- 21:02Speaker 1: of today's national news plus and trending news. Uncle Ben's
- 21:05Speaker 1: and Missus Butterworths will follow Aunt Jemima by phasing out
- 21:09Speaker 1: racial stereotype logos. We'll talk about it all at the
- 21:13Speaker 1: top of the hour, but right now it is time
- 21:15Speaker 1: for the nephew to run that prank back. Well, let's
- 21:18Speaker 1: go down to the church the preacher's wife. Oh yeah,
- 21:24Speaker 1: you gotta prank them to the preacher's wife. It's going
- 21:27Speaker 1: on down to the chech get it crack, let's go. Kay. Hello, Hello,
- 21:32Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach a Sister Angela. Sister Angela, please,
- 21:37Speaker 1: how you doing. My name is Brother Clayton. I'm calling
- 21:40Speaker 1: you from a great Baptist Church. How are you doing
- 21:42Speaker 1: this morning? Oh I'm fine, I'm fine. Yeah, listen, I
- 21:47Speaker 1: know that your husband, Reverend Jonathan, is actually one of
- 21:52Speaker 1: the candidates that we may be choosing to be our
- 21:55Speaker 1: pastor since our past pastor has stepped down. Yes, yes, yes,
- 22:00Speaker 1: I'm very proud of my husband. I think you'll make
- 22:03Speaker 1: a very good candidate. As a matter of fact, here
- 22:05Speaker 1: at the church, we've been asking a lot of the
- 22:07Speaker 1: deacons and assistant ministers here have been asking different questions,
- 22:14Speaker 1: different things that they would be doing once they became pastor,
- 22:17Speaker 1: you know, like your first one hundred days. What would
- 22:19Speaker 1: you try and change here at the church or try
- 22:22Speaker 1: and make better? So to speak? Yet, but what my husband,
- 22:25Speaker 1: he's not here right now that you need to speak
- 22:26Speaker 1: to her. No, not right now. What we've decided to do, uh,
- 22:30Speaker 1: sus Angela is actually called the wives and ask them
- 22:34Speaker 1: a few questions. Oh, okay, that's a little different. Sure,
- 22:38Speaker 1: And we don't we don't want to take up too
- 22:40Speaker 1: much of your time. You know, a lot of times,
- 22:43Speaker 1: if a pastor is stressed at home, nine times out
- 22:47Speaker 1: of ten, he's likely to be stressed at the church.
- 22:51Speaker 1: So I guess, my, my, my biggest question to you
- 22:54Speaker 1: is is your husband stressed at home? No, not that
- 23:01Speaker 1: I know of. He eats regularly, he's on a good diet.
- 23:05Speaker 1: You know, he gets goes to the doctor regularly. He
- 23:08Speaker 1: gets his physical um pretty good at home. I don't
- 23:11Speaker 1: have a reason to believe that he's stressed. He certainly
- 23:14Speaker 1: hasn't brought anything to my attention. Okay, No, No, I don't.
- 23:17Speaker 1: I don't. I don't. I don't, I don't. I don't
- 23:19Speaker 1: think you follow me, sus Andrew. What I'm saying is
- 23:23Speaker 1: he's stressed behind closed doors? Is he stressed in that fashion? Um,
- 23:31Speaker 1: I'm not. I'm not too sure I follow you. You
- 23:34Speaker 1: said behind closed doors? What exactly did you mean by that?
- 23:37Speaker 1: Is he is? He's stressed in y'all's relations Is he stressed?
- 23:45Speaker 1: Are you asking me about my personal business present? Well,
- 23:48Speaker 1: what I'm saying is if he's stressed at home, he'll
- 23:51Speaker 1: be stressed at the church. And if he's stressed at
- 23:53Speaker 1: the church, then the members are stressed, then the congregation
- 23:57Speaker 1: is stressed. So the stress thought of you excuse me.
- 24:02Speaker 1: If you are making sure that he's all right at home,
- 24:05Speaker 1: he's gonna be all right at the chair. I'm sorry, brother,
- 24:09Speaker 1: what was your name? Brother Clayton? Brother Clayton. I appreciate
- 24:12Speaker 1: you m conducting whatever interviews you guys need to conduct
- 24:16Speaker 1: with the candidates. Wise, I do think that's pretty much
- 24:20Speaker 1: personal territory, and I really don't want to answer those
- 24:22Speaker 1: kind of questions. It's not personal since the Angela when
- 24:26Speaker 1: so many other people involved. See, that's why I'm asking
- 24:29Speaker 1: you the question, is your man stressed behind? I could
- 24:33Speaker 1: assure you, yes, that my husband is not stressed at home.
- 24:37Speaker 1: If I get your drift, he is not stressed behind
- 24:41Speaker 1: closed doors, brother, and I would appreciate you if you
- 24:44Speaker 1: don't call with these kind of questions. Are you asking
- 24:46Speaker 1: other candidates why these kind of questions? Well, I was
- 24:49Speaker 1: the one dedicated to call to give you a call,
- 24:53Speaker 1: and that's the question that I decided to come up
- 24:54Speaker 1: with because I want to know if a man is
- 24:57Speaker 1: gonna be stressed, because if he's gonna have tension at
- 25:00Speaker 1: the church, then then the congregation is going to have tension.
- 25:02Speaker 1: The church is gonna have tension, and the church cannot
- 25:05Speaker 1: move forward in the direction on with Clayton. My husband
- 25:08Speaker 1: and I have been married twenty five years and they've
- 25:11Speaker 1: been twenty five good years. If you get my drift, okay,
- 25:14Speaker 1: he is not stressed at home, and whatever goes on
- 25:18Speaker 1: at home, my husband has sense enough not to take
- 25:19Speaker 1: it to the church that is not something he's gonna do.
- 25:22Speaker 1: So you don't see that about anybody else being stressed
- 25:25Speaker 1: at the congregation, in the pulpit nowhere. Okay, we ask
- 25:29Speaker 1: it together at home, and I appreciate it if you
- 25:30Speaker 1: don't ask you those kind of questions, But sometimes ask me, well,
- 25:34Speaker 1: sometimes a woman does not realize that a husband is stressed.
- 25:39Speaker 1: You understand that there's a possible way that you don't
- 25:41Speaker 1: know that he's stressed. So how can you get Let
- 25:44Speaker 1: me get your phone. A matter of fact, let me
- 25:46Speaker 1: get your full name. What's your first name? Let's just
- 25:48Speaker 1: go with brother Clayton right now, Could you please answer
- 25:51Speaker 1: this question? How can you guarantee that he is fully
- 25:54Speaker 1: not stressed? Brother Clayton? How calling the lord real question?
- 26:00Speaker 1: Hold on, Brother Clayton. I'm an honorable woman. I'm a
- 26:04Speaker 1: woman who stands by my man. Okay, but you are
- 26:07Speaker 1: asking me some questions that very personal, very private, very confidential.
- 26:13Speaker 1: You are asking me questions that that a question is
- 26:16Speaker 1: the safety of my marriage. Okay, my husband is not stressed,
- 26:21Speaker 1: and if I don't send him away from my home stressed, Okay,
- 26:28Speaker 1: how do you know? But what are you doing to
- 26:31Speaker 1: make sure that this is less stress. Clayton, I'm about
- 26:34Speaker 1: to end this phone call. Okay, now, if you know,
- 26:37Speaker 1: we're not gonna end this phone call until that we
- 26:39Speaker 1: know we I need to know that Reverend Jonathan is
- 26:42Speaker 1: not stressed at home. They put they assigned me to
- 26:46Speaker 1: talk to you, and that's what I'm going to do,
- 26:48Speaker 1: and I'm gonna leave. He is not stressed. I don't
- 26:50Speaker 1: know who told you that the man is not stressed.
- 26:52Speaker 1: If he act to stressed around you, I bet you.
- 26:56Speaker 1: I bet you his stress because you're stressed, ain't me
- 26:58Speaker 1: right now? Now we're both stressed out. How can we
- 27:00Speaker 1: understand that that man is not stressed. That's the end
- 27:03Speaker 1: of this conversation. Do you understand me? Give me your
- 27:06Speaker 1: full name right now, give me some intimate details, and
- 27:09Speaker 1: then I'll give you my number to cross the line.
- 27:11Speaker 1: You wait till my husband gets here. If this is
- 27:13Speaker 1: gonna cost him accandacy, does this so be it. We'll
- 27:16Speaker 1: find another church. I'd have some choice words for you
- 27:19Speaker 1: right now, brother Clayton. I will give you my name
- 27:22Speaker 1: right now. Do you have a pen? Yes, I'm gonna
- 27:24Speaker 1: write it right now. The letter n N is in
- 27:27Speaker 1: nancy e P. I know how to spell fast n
- 27:34Speaker 1: E P H E W. Kind of name is that?
- 27:38Speaker 1: Nephew your name is nephew Clayton. My name ain't nephew Clayton.
- 27:42Speaker 1: My name is nephew Tommy. From the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 27:45Speaker 1: You just got pranked by your husband, Reverend Jonathan Toto.
- 27:53Speaker 1: You said, this is nephew Tommy, this is my god
- 28:00Speaker 1: from the Steve Harvey Mourning's your Your husband got me
- 28:03Speaker 1: to prank phone call you. Oh lord, I'm gonna kill it.
- 28:08Speaker 1: I don't need that. Oh stress me set me this morning.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I can't believe I let him get me. You know,
- 28:18Speaker 1: thanks before? Oh my God, Tommy, I will tell you
- 28:23Speaker 1: if this was twenty five years ago. Brother, I cussed
- 28:27Speaker 1: up a storm. I'm so glad I'm a safe woman.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Well listen, listen. Can I ask you one more thing? Yes?
- 28:36Speaker 1: What is the baddest radio show in the land, The
- 28:40Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. I just want to make sure
- 28:49Speaker 1: she taking care of pastor at the high. He don't
- 28:53Speaker 1: need to be stressed. You understand you need to keep
- 28:56Speaker 1: make sure, make sure you relax him. That's all. You
- 29:01Speaker 1: know what? Yeah, you know you're gonna be the first
- 29:05Speaker 1: lady you step up and do your jail. He don't
- 29:07Speaker 1: need to be stressed. All right, thank you, nep You're
- 29:12Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour entertainment and
- 29:15Speaker 1: some national news for you right after this. You're listening
- 29:18Speaker 1: to show. Well, we all know that PEPSI announced it
- 29:24Speaker 1: is retiring the one hundred and thirty year old aunt
- 29:27Speaker 1: Jemima brand and logo. Yeah, PEPSI announced they're working to
- 29:39Speaker 1: make progress toward racial equality through several initiatives and take
- 29:43Speaker 1: a hard look at their brand's portfolio. Wow about time.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Uncle Ben's is also changing its brand identity. Uncle Ben's
- 29:52Speaker 1: picture is a beloved chef from Chicago. I didn't know that. However,
- 29:55Speaker 1: the imagery evokes a servant title that white Southerners w
- 30:00Speaker 1: to use uh and an uncle for older blacks because
- 30:03Speaker 1: they refuse to say mister and missus. And then finally missus.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Butterworth says it would conduct a whole branding and packaging review.
- 30:13Speaker 1: So there you go. So Miss Butterworth is changing too,
- 30:16Speaker 1: Missus Butterworth, Missus butterwords Uncle Ben's and Antieremima. Now ain't
- 30:23Speaker 1: your mamma, I understand that one. I understand that one did.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Miss butters worth for. I didn't have them feel no
- 30:31Speaker 1: kind of way about that. But I'm just gonna tell
- 30:33Speaker 1: you right now, if you take uncle Being off the right,
- 30:35Speaker 1: I'm not buying another damn box of it. You won't
- 30:39Speaker 1: Uncle Being on that. No, Uncle Being ain't making no
- 30:42Speaker 1: white man. It's gonna be River Rice or something like that. Yeah, right, Rice,
- 30:47Speaker 1: Well I'm not buying it. I'm with you. And what
- 30:51Speaker 1: did they say? Then? Change? An't your mamma to mama?
- 30:54Speaker 1: What it's gonna be. They're they're reviewing everything now, so
- 30:58Speaker 1: we'll just gonna be unclad. Well know when they repackage
- 31:02Speaker 1: and rebrand, because I'm not ready for long cabin yet.
- 31:05Speaker 1: I'm not ready for that. Oh serve that long cabin. Serve.
- 31:10Speaker 1: I'm not putting that on my pancake. No, I ain't
- 31:12Speaker 1: changing that. So they answer off to miss Butterworth, ain't
- 31:17Speaker 1: your ain't your mom? She served the pancakes, she everything
- 31:22Speaker 1: but the ribbon on your head there not in the front.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, but then they they took that. Yeah, she
- 31:31Speaker 1: did her hair, she had a nice said they took
- 31:35Speaker 1: that away five years ago. Got that here tied up
- 31:39Speaker 1: like she too, pap. But it used to be like that. Yeah,
- 31:43Speaker 1: but then they took her hair down and gave her
- 31:46Speaker 1: a nice here, a nice dude. If the colonel knows
- 31:48Speaker 1: answer nice, Well, that's a whole nother story. Yeah, because
- 31:58Speaker 1: because you stole that chicken, we do know that. I'm
- 32:01Speaker 1: a great Southern I've been making chicken. Man, Chicken is
- 32:08Speaker 1: my life. He's made right, He's still the maid the
- 32:10Speaker 1: cook's recipe. I did not still the recipe these seven spices.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I've known this for a long time time. What about
- 32:23Speaker 1: quiet as it's killed? I've been dating you know what
- 32:30Speaker 1: you've been all Right. I decided I'd better not expose
- 32:37Speaker 1: that true fact now because we're in the climate we're
- 32:41Speaker 1: in today. I didn't think that would be the right
- 32:45Speaker 1: thing to say. With all that's going on with relations today.
- 32:50Speaker 1: I don't think you could do this voice in this climate.
- 32:52Speaker 1: You need to go. I'm doing it in other news
- 32:57Speaker 1: is done and we're dated now. That's another news. Parrell
- 33:02Speaker 1: showed up at a press conference in his home state
- 33:04Speaker 1: of Virginia. He wanted to announce June teeth as a
- 33:07Speaker 1: paid state holiday. With Farrell by his side, Governor Ralph
- 33:11Speaker 1: Northam spoke about the significance of June nineteenth. Northam tells
- 33:16Speaker 1: the Daily Press that June teenth matters because it says
- 33:19Speaker 1: to the black community, this is not just your history.
- 33:21Speaker 1: This is everyone shared history, and we recognize it together
- 33:25Speaker 1: and we'll be back. We got some headlines. Go ahead, Steve,
- 33:29Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen. Miss Anne Tripp, Okay, my mother used
- 33:33Speaker 1: Carolina used Carolina Rice. Okay. This is entered for the
- 33:37Speaker 1: news and now fired Atlanta police officer who's shot and
- 33:40Speaker 1: killed twenty seven year old Richard Brooks last Friday. His
- 33:43Speaker 1: name is Garrett Rolf. He's been charged with eleven counts
- 33:46Speaker 1: for including felony murder, an assault with a deadly weapon.
- 33:49Speaker 1: He's expected to turn himself in this morning, and the
- 33:52Speaker 1: other officer on the scene, Devon Brazen, and his charge
- 33:54Speaker 1: with aggravated assault and violations of the uls of office.
- 33:58Speaker 1: The shooting took place during a sab check at a
- 34:00Speaker 1: Wednesdays Wendy's parking lot, and Fulton County says that authorities
- 34:05Speaker 1: miss say mister Brooks was kicked in denied medical care
- 34:08Speaker 1: as he lay dying after they shot him in the back.
- 34:10Speaker 1: DA Paul Howard says it's unfortunately just the latest in
- 34:13Speaker 1: a long, long, grim line of cases. Unfortunately, this marks
- 34:18Speaker 1: the fortieth prosecution of police officers for misconduct here in
- 34:24Speaker 1: our county, and this is the ninth time that we've
- 34:28Speaker 1: prosecuted a homicide case committed by a police officer. Eight
- 34:34Speaker 1: of those cases involved black males, and one of those
- 34:38Speaker 1: cases involved a black female. This morning, several Atlantic cops
- 34:42Speaker 1: called in sick. According to the latest Quinnipiac University poll,
- 34:46Speaker 1: a majority of American voters sixty eight percent to twenty
- 34:49Speaker 1: seven percent, feel the discrimination against Black Americans is a
- 34:52Speaker 1: serious issue in this country. Also, sixty seven percent of
- 34:56Speaker 1: those ask support the protests, while twenty eight percent say
- 34:59Speaker 1: they do not. Most twenty percent are Republican voters. Again,
- 35:02Speaker 1: we're being reminded police brutality against minardi, non white populations
- 35:05Speaker 1: of problem in many places in the world. Australia has
- 35:08Speaker 1: been seen as several Black Lives Matter protests. Now our
- 35:11Speaker 1: original activists took to the streets of Brisbane early this
- 35:14Speaker 1: week demanding an end to the police killings of Indigenous
- 35:17Speaker 1: people and other people of color in Australia, and they
- 35:19Speaker 1: were arrest Joe Biden, campaigning in Pennsylvania yesterday, criticized President
- 35:23Speaker 1: Trump over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Biden says
- 35:26Speaker 1: Trump's not focusing on the nation's health despite the fact
- 35:30Speaker 1: that COVID nineteen death tolls are climbing seven hundred and
- 35:33Speaker 1: fifty fathers and mothers and sisters and brothers, uncles, and
- 35:36Speaker 1: husband's wives children dying every day, more than twenty thousand
- 35:42Speaker 1: a month. Joe Biden says, well, it's great that the
- 35:45Speaker 1: job numbers are rebounding. He says he's worried that what
- 35:48Speaker 1: he sees as a quote lack of focus and plans
- 35:50Speaker 1: from the White House could lead more people vulnerable to
- 35:53Speaker 1: infection and dead. Finally, not yet, the Academy Emotion Picture
- 36:02Speaker 1: Arts has announced that the twenty twenty one Oscars ceremony
- 36:05Speaker 1: is being pushed back this year from February twenty eighth
- 36:08Speaker 1: to April twenty fifth, due to you guessed it, the
- 36:11Speaker 1: coronavirus pandemic, because that will be in twenty twenty one.
- 36:14Speaker 1: The film industry really suffering because of this. Now back
- 36:18Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening to this
- 36:21Speaker 1: Dave Harvey Show. Ex Atlanta police officer Garrett Rolf who
- 36:25Speaker 1: shot and killed Ray Schard Brooks has been officially charged
- 36:30Speaker 1: with murder, and its former partner, Devin Brosnan, has agreed
- 36:34Speaker 1: to testify against him. Fulton District Attorney Paul Howard announced
- 36:38Speaker 1: eleven charges against Garrett Rolf, including multiple acts of aggravated
- 36:43Speaker 1: assault and felony murder. The district attorney made it clear
- 36:47Speaker 1: that he does not believe that awfulicer Ralph feared for
- 36:50Speaker 1: his life and that he had a cordial conversation with
- 36:53Speaker 1: Ray Schard for forty one minutes before killing him. The
- 36:56Speaker 1: other officer, Devin Brosnan, has been charged with aggravated assault
- 37:01Speaker 1: and he is on videotape seen stepping on Ray Schard's
- 37:04Speaker 1: shoulder as a man was dying, and he's also charged
- 37:09Speaker 1: with failure to render eight. He is cooperating with the investigation.
- 37:13Speaker 1: That press conference also showed that Ralph kicked ra Brooks
- 37:20Speaker 1: as well. Yeah, he kicked after he shot after he
- 37:24Speaker 1: shot him, exactly Steve after he shot him. Yeah, that
- 37:28Speaker 1: was a lord. Yeah. During the press conference, after every
- 37:33Speaker 1: you know, after the everyone spoke, the wife came up,
- 37:36Speaker 1: Ray Schard's wife and one of the reporters asked her,
- 37:39Speaker 1: how does she feel knowing that because this was new
- 37:42Speaker 1: information to everyone, and she said, you know, it hurt me.
- 37:46Speaker 1: It hurt me deeply. She started crying. She said, I
- 37:49Speaker 1: can imagine what he was feeling at that time. This
- 37:53Speaker 1: is her husband. She said that. She just started crying
- 37:56Speaker 1: and crying. And I mean it was so just heartbreaking
- 38:00Speaker 1: to see this woman up there feeling, you know, what
- 38:03Speaker 1: her husband was feeling in those last moments of his life.
- 38:06Speaker 1: You know, just just it was Listen, you know, all
- 38:14Speaker 1: of us are sick about all of this. Yeah. The
- 38:21Speaker 1: sad part about it is it's nothing new. Yeah, that's true, Steve.
- 38:26Speaker 1: It's just this is the most time that I've seen
- 38:29Speaker 1: them on television since the Civil Rights movement spend any
- 38:34Speaker 1: amount of time such as this discussing race. Yeah. And
- 38:37Speaker 1: this is the longest protest I've seen with non African
- 38:40Speaker 1: Americans involved concerning racism. So that is an upside to this,
- 38:46Speaker 1: even in its darkest moment, and this is a dark time.
- 38:49Speaker 1: But I think there's gonna be a pivotal moment in
- 38:51Speaker 1: our history. And I think, just like the election of
- 38:55Speaker 1: Barack Obama was a pivotal moment that I thought would
- 38:58Speaker 1: never happen in our lifetime, I think that this is
- 39:01Speaker 1: another one of those pivotal moments. Yeah, I really really
- 39:05Speaker 1: feel that you do feel like some kind of change change. Yeah,
- 39:09Speaker 1: something is going to happen. Yeah, yeah, we need to
- 39:13Speaker 1: start at the polls. Yes we do, sir, Yes, all right,
- 39:18Speaker 1: coming up in thirty four minutes after the hour. Let's
- 39:20Speaker 1: switch gears. Let's laugh a little bit here. Um. The
- 39:25Speaker 1: question is, Uh, we're gonna ask this what was your
- 39:28Speaker 1: most awkward dad moment? We'll talk to the guys right
- 39:32Speaker 1: after this. You're listening to show Father's Day is this Sunday?
- 39:39Speaker 1: Is that I didn't even know that Father's Day? Is
- 39:42Speaker 1: this Sunday? So? Why I don't never know when it's
- 39:45Speaker 1: Father's Day? Why is it so y'll miss that? I
- 39:48Speaker 1: mean I knew. No, we don't get the credit that
- 39:55Speaker 1: though day is so raggedy in my father is so
- 40:03Speaker 1: damn raggedy God Day. Now you get dinner reservation anywhere,
- 40:11Speaker 1: wild open, no waiting. All right, here we go. Father's
- 40:15Speaker 1: Day is this Sunday? So our question to you guys
- 40:19Speaker 1: is have you ever been caught in like an awkward
- 40:22Speaker 1: moment with your dad? Uh? And and so what was it?
- 40:25Speaker 1: Or as a dad with your kids? Did you laugh
- 40:27Speaker 1: about it or yeah? Or do you guys never talk
- 40:31Speaker 1: about it? Go ahead, yeah, come on, Steve, and for
- 40:36Speaker 1: you want to go last time? We go first, I go,
- 40:38Speaker 1: I go first. I'm sick. Oh my son, my son,
- 40:44Speaker 1: my son just turned nine. But when he was six,
- 40:48Speaker 1: we uh, you know a bunch of people at the
- 40:50Speaker 1: house and he we you know, we've been a had dinner,
- 40:53Speaker 1: so you know, you know, he wants to do the
- 40:56Speaker 1: prop So I'm like, cool, he didn't done this prap,
- 40:58Speaker 1: but folk, you do something completely left field. This is
- 41:05Speaker 1: a prayer. I heard my mama do. Oh God, oh jess,
- 41:09Speaker 1: oh God, oh Lord, oh Lord, oh jeez, oh baby. Amen,
- 41:15Speaker 1: I'm looking at this freaking kidding me right now, you black,
- 41:28Speaker 1: You're gonna get your ass. When people leaders, they tell
- 41:32Speaker 1: me they felt like laughing, but you know what I mean.
- 41:38Speaker 1: And Mamma looking at him like, well you, oh my god,
- 41:41Speaker 1: you're just embarrassed to miss out of us. Amen. Amen.
- 41:49Speaker 1: As the father or with your dad, what's that either one.
- 41:52Speaker 1: I used to work construction with my father and I
- 41:56Speaker 1: hated it. I hated the lunches he made because he
- 42:00Speaker 1: would get up and just make a lunch and thought
- 42:02Speaker 1: out to just be okay, But I hated sardine's for lunch.
- 42:07Speaker 1: I mean it's hot, I hear all day and we've
- 42:09Speaker 1: been holding up this hot ass can with it ail
- 42:11Speaker 1: of it. Man, he steak ass Sawdeans, you damned crackers
- 42:16Speaker 1: sitting up in here. And I was eating the sardines
- 42:19Speaker 1: one day and he said, well, you don't like your sardines.
- 42:23Speaker 1: And so I was about in the eleventh grade, twelfth grade,
- 42:27Speaker 1: so I decided to tell the truth. I said, well, dad,
- 42:33Speaker 1: and not really. Now we had just started even lunch.
- 42:36Speaker 1: All we gotta Sawdan were on a construction site that's
- 42:41Speaker 1: just in the middle of a field, so or what
- 42:43Speaker 1: building something, I don't even know what it was. He said, boy,
- 42:46Speaker 1: you like the sardines. I said, no, not really. He
- 42:50Speaker 1: just leaned over and slapped him out of my hand.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Now the sardines is in the dirt. Now, now we
- 43:00Speaker 1: in the middle of nowhere. That's all you got. No,
- 43:06Speaker 1: I just said I didn't like him. I just signed
- 43:08Speaker 1: in water and you just slapped him out of my hand.
- 43:11Speaker 1: And he just kept eating heads and then and you know,
- 43:16Speaker 1: he didn't have a thermos, so he would put ice
- 43:19Speaker 1: water in a mason jaw fill it up with cool
- 43:22Speaker 1: aid or drink, and then wrapping in a lot of
- 43:24Speaker 1: paper and put mask and tape on it, and that
- 43:26Speaker 1: kept it relatively cool, and he just drank his whole drink.
- 43:31Speaker 1: He never mentioned it to me. So we're riding home
- 43:34Speaker 1: and he said, you're hungry, and I thought about that, said,
- 43:40Speaker 1: I said, okay, well let me think this out because
- 43:43Speaker 1: I better not say what I said before. He said
- 43:45Speaker 1: you're hungry. I said, no, said I'm fine. He said,
- 43:47Speaker 1: out of here, you ain't hung You ain't ain't nothing
- 43:49Speaker 1: saiting breakfast. So now I'm still thinking of what I'm
- 43:54Speaker 1: supposed to say to him, because what I wanted to
- 43:55Speaker 1: say is your black ass knocked it out my hand,
- 43:58Speaker 1: and that damn Dirk with your did ask trying to
- 44:01Speaker 1: teach me an So I knew I couldn't say that,
- 44:05Speaker 1: so I said, well, now I'm fine. See pulled over McDonald's.
- 44:09Speaker 1: He said, why don't you get yourself something? Poor? Oh
- 44:12Speaker 1: you felt bad. That was the most loving moment we've
- 44:19Speaker 1: I like that, though, Steve. That was a teachable moment
- 44:22Speaker 1: right here, all right, listen, coming up, nephew Tommy is
- 44:25Speaker 1: in the building here right here with a praying phone call.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show coming
- 44:34Speaker 1: up at the top of the hour. Right about four
- 44:36Speaker 1: minutes after. It's my strawberry letter for today. The subject
- 44:40Speaker 1: is my husband openly cheating on me. Yeah. Wow, okay,
- 44:46Speaker 1: but we'll get into it. But right now the nephew
- 44:48Speaker 1: is here with today's prying phone call. What you got
- 44:50Speaker 1: for us, naph we got something go right alone with
- 44:53Speaker 1: this shirt, right alone with that condom clean us. Oh no, oh,
- 45:01Speaker 1: condom cleaners. Baby lay too much? Yeah, this one right

- 45:09Speaker 1: that is buying them pack of three you ain't gonna
- 45:12Speaker 1: use but one o them other two out the window.
- 45:14Speaker 1: We're trying to say something I want out to one.
- 45:17Speaker 1: I'm just trying to be helpful. I'm asking. I'm just
- 45:18Speaker 1: saying for a friend, you need to Yeah, yeah, okay,
- 45:25Speaker 1: I gotta hear this. Let's go, cat dog Come on. Hello, Hello,
- 45:32Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach to Mika Jamica. This is Shane.
- 45:36Speaker 1: How you doing. I'm I'm Brad from Quality Cleaners. I'm
- 45:41Speaker 1: the manager over here. Uh huh listen, um, did you
- 45:44Speaker 1: bring some clothes in this morning. No, I didn't bring
- 45:48Speaker 1: anything into you this morning. Okay, Well listen, we got
- 45:52Speaker 1: an order that was dropped off this morning. Here it's
- 45:55Speaker 1: a couple of suits, some business shirts and a few
- 45:59Speaker 1: other things. But they're actually been some articles actually left
- 46:02Speaker 1: in the clothing. So my husband that down, okay, he
- 46:08Speaker 1: this morning. It was dropped off like around seven this morning.
- 46:11Speaker 1: But we got it's got a let's work. It's like
- 46:13Speaker 1: about a hundred bucks cash in the pocket. There's a
- 46:16Speaker 1: couple of business cards. Uh, there's there's a cup link here.
- 46:20Speaker 1: I looked all over. It's only one cup link and
- 46:22Speaker 1: then there's two condoms in here. So I wanted to
- 46:25Speaker 1: see if you guys wanted me to put this in
- 46:27Speaker 1: a classic bag or something and have it. Can you
- 46:32Speaker 1: repeat what was left in there? Again? Well, like I said,
- 46:36Speaker 1: we got a it's like right out a hundred maybe
- 46:39Speaker 1: hundreds five bucks of cash. Uh, there's a business card
- 46:42Speaker 1: from an insurance company. There's another business card for um.
- 46:48Speaker 1: What is this? This is? Um? What else was left
- 46:51Speaker 1: right right? I'm trying to tell you about all the
- 46:53Speaker 1: business cards. I don't I'm not interested in the business
- 46:56Speaker 1: card because you said something else okay, No, there's a
- 46:58Speaker 1: cup link that we can't We can't find the other
- 47:01Speaker 1: couple link if it's here. We're looking all over the
- 47:03Speaker 1: bag to see if we can find it, but we
- 47:05Speaker 1: don't see that either. What my house is in this pocket? Uh?
- 47:08Speaker 1: Like I said, you got you got one hundred dollars
- 47:10Speaker 1: in here? There's some No, no, no, no, you had
- 47:14Speaker 1: said something to me. Yes, there's business cards. There's an
- 47:19Speaker 1: insurance card, business cards. You said something else? A couple link, ma'am,
- 47:24Speaker 1: there's a couple link in here that we can else. Oh, okay,
- 47:29Speaker 1: what the last? There's two condoms in here? Hello? What
- 47:33Speaker 1: did did you say? Uh? Like, I said, there's one
- 47:37Speaker 1: hundred dollars in here? Did you say? Did you say
- 47:42Speaker 1: there was some condoms in there? There's two? There's two
- 47:45Speaker 1: extra large condoms in here. Hello, I'm here. I'm just
- 47:50Speaker 1: trying to dodge us out of stuff that you had
- 47:53Speaker 1: just said that that was in my husband's pocket. Now
- 47:57Speaker 1: you sure that this is my husband, Chris? Chris? Uh? Well,
- 48:02Speaker 1: it has I mean maybe you know the items man,
- 48:05Speaker 1: this is there's a there's a gray suit. There's also
- 48:08Speaker 1: a solid blue suit. That's that sounds from that sounds familiar,
- 48:12Speaker 1: but I'm not understanding what that condoms. The phone numbers,
- 48:19Speaker 1: the phone number that I called, the number that's attached
- 48:22Speaker 1: to this actual order. So I mean, this is the
- 48:25Speaker 1: number we have on file? Is this is this his number?
- 48:28Speaker 1: Or your home number or was your sale? What a number?
- 48:31Speaker 1: Is this? This is our house number? I just don't
- 48:35Speaker 1: believe you know what what you're telling me, because we
- 48:38Speaker 1: just celebrated our our anniversary last week, is this is what? What?
- 48:44Speaker 1: I mean? What's what's wrong? Man? What's wrong? What's first about?
- 48:48Speaker 1: We marry and we never used condoms? And then you
- 48:51Speaker 1: don't get calling me talking about he got condoms left
- 48:54Speaker 1: in his suitcoat pocket. I'm not understand. Okay, Oh I
- 48:59Speaker 1: know you ain't cheat. No, well not not, I mean
- 49:01Speaker 1: not necessarily. I mean you know they could have been there.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Why he was in his pocket? I just don't make
- 49:08Speaker 1: any damn sense. If we married and we don't use
- 49:11Speaker 1: kind I was gonna want to what do you have
- 49:13Speaker 1: kindles in his pocket? I don't know, man, you'd have
- 49:16Speaker 1: to talk to Chris about that one. Now. I guess
- 49:19Speaker 1: my main reason is it you want me to wait
- 49:22Speaker 1: a minute. I wanted to know, did you did you
- 49:24Speaker 1: clean anything yet? Did you clean the suit? And no,
- 49:27Speaker 1: we haven't cleaned it. I just I just start starting
- 49:29Speaker 1: stuff and I don't want you. I don't want you
- 49:31Speaker 1: to clean them things and all those articles that that
- 49:35Speaker 1: you said, I want you to put it. I want
- 49:38Speaker 1: you to I want you to put everything, include them
- 49:40Speaker 1: damn kindles. I want you to put it in the bag.
- 49:43Speaker 1: I want you to put it in the bag. Don't
- 49:46Speaker 1: clean uphing, because I'm gonna come up there and I'm
- 49:48Speaker 1: gonna pick everything up. Okay, I mean I'll be here
- 49:51Speaker 1: all day, Like I said, my name is Brad, and
- 49:53Speaker 1: I'll be here if you want me to um. If
- 49:56Speaker 1: you want me to put them to the side, I
- 49:58Speaker 1: won't clean them. I'll just put them to the side
- 50:00Speaker 1: and I leave him in the same launder bag. Yet
- 50:02Speaker 1: when you dropped them all, don't Chris, I don't believe this.
- 50:05Speaker 1: I didn't gave this man good years of my life
- 50:07Speaker 1: and he gonna turn around cheat on me. You make
- 50:10Speaker 1: sure you don't clean up, because I'm gonna say it.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Side all that my damn self. You put all that
- 50:16Speaker 1: in the bag. I'm gonna call my job and let
- 50:18Speaker 1: him No, I'm not coming in to that slow down.
- 50:22Speaker 1: I don't want you to get to get to hysterical.
- 50:24Speaker 1: I mean, you know you're getting a little iragar you. Okay,
- 50:27Speaker 1: I'm I'm I'm gonna be all right. I am gonna
- 50:31Speaker 1: be all right when I get up there. Who Chris
- 50:34Speaker 1: is gonna get? That's all I got to say. You
- 50:37Speaker 1: make sure you have all that stuff not clean. I
- 50:39Speaker 1: don't want you to clean it. I want you to
- 50:41Speaker 1: put all that other that you said that you found
- 50:43Speaker 1: in his pocket. You put all that in the bag
- 50:46Speaker 1: because Chris is. I don't know who you think. Okay,
- 50:50Speaker 1: mister Minka, would you like for me to call Chris?
- 50:52Speaker 1: I don't want you no, no, no, no, Bobby, I
- 50:57Speaker 1: don't want you to no man way minute. Wait wait wait,
- 51:00Speaker 1: my name's Brad. I'm Brad. I don't give a damn
- 51:04Speaker 1: what your name is. So I really don't. Okay, because
- 51:07Speaker 1: Chris is gonna get up. You just put everything in
- 51:10Speaker 1: the backsete like I asked you too. I am all
- 51:12Speaker 1: my way down there, and Chris, no, this ain't going
- 51:17Speaker 1: down this way. We've just renewed our vows and man
- 51:19Speaker 1: of that don't condoms coming three and you what they're
- 51:22Speaker 1: talking about this. That's what I'm not understanding. I know
- 51:26Speaker 1: how to do my mas. Okay, Chris is gonna get
- 51:31Speaker 1: when you get him on tonight. Here's here's something else
- 51:33Speaker 1: in the pocket too. There's a note in here. I no,
- 51:36Speaker 1: what does he say? Okay, man, I you know what?
- 51:39Speaker 1: This has gotten way way out of hand. I don't
- 51:41Speaker 1: want to and you need to quick tell mannis in
- 51:44Speaker 1: the pocket. What do you need that to me? Not
- 51:48Speaker 1: a fact? I want that in the bad too. The
- 51:50Speaker 1: more evidence I have, the better off is gonna be
- 51:53Speaker 1: for me. Uh what did the note say? The note says,
- 51:58Speaker 1: this is nephew tim me for the Steve Hobbon morn
- 52:01Speaker 1: to show your husband. Chris got me to playball called
- 52:05Speaker 1: shoe what God, Chris was going to die tonight. I
- 52:15Speaker 1: was we was gonna have a barbecue in his honor.

- 54:19Speaker 1: Marca lap hold on tight. We got it for you.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Here it is every letter, thank you nephew. Subject is
- 54:25Speaker 1: my husband openly cheating on me? Excuse me, just Stephen Shirley.
- 54:30Speaker 1: I've been married for fifteen years and my husband is
- 54:33Speaker 1: an associate pastor. He has office hours at the church
- 54:37Speaker 1: and the church secretary is there from nine to five pm.
- 54:41Speaker 1: I started working part time because I wanted to buy
- 54:43Speaker 1: new furniture. I work in an artsy area of town
- 54:47Speaker 1: at a craft store, and there are several restaurants in
- 54:50Speaker 1: the area. On two separate occasions, my husband called me,
- 54:53Speaker 1: and he called to say that he'd be in the
- 54:56Speaker 1: area having lunch with some people from church. Both times
- 55:01Speaker 1: I found the receipts and only two people had lunch
- 55:04Speaker 1: and alcohol. I never said anything to him. Then our
- 55:08Speaker 1: church sponsored or community fundraiser for students headed to college.
- 55:11Speaker 1: I couldn't go because I had to work. My husband
- 55:14Speaker 1: said he was going with the church secretary so she
- 55:17Speaker 1: wouldn't be out alone at night. After that, I began
- 55:21Speaker 1: to watch his actions more closely. I noticed that he
- 55:24Speaker 1: started checking his cell phone more often and would smile
- 55:27Speaker 1: when he read his messages. All of a sudden, he
- 55:30Speaker 1: slept with his phone, with his phone off at night
- 55:36Speaker 1: and on the dresser instead of on his nightstand. Last week,
- 55:40Speaker 1: I did something crazy when my husband called to tell
- 55:42Speaker 1: me he was in my area for lunch. I left
- 55:45Speaker 1: work and rode around until I found his car. He
- 55:49Speaker 1: was at a Mexican restaurant, and I walked in and
- 55:52Speaker 1: found him sitting with the church secretary. She told him,
- 55:57Speaker 1: I'll handle this. She told me that I should be
- 55:59Speaker 1: a shame for being so insecure that I would walk
- 56:02Speaker 1: on walk up on them. As though I didn't trust
- 56:05Speaker 1: my husband. She was so good that she almost made
- 56:10Speaker 1: me believe her. My husband denied doing anything wrong, and
- 56:13Speaker 1: now he's very upset with me. I don't have any
- 56:16Speaker 1: proof of an affair, So should I let it go
- 56:19Speaker 1: or keep an eye on them? I gotta tell you this.
- 56:23Speaker 1: You gotta trust your instincts. You have to trust your instincts. Girl,
- 56:27Speaker 1: you have a feeling what's going on. You saw the
- 56:30Speaker 1: receipts for yourself. First, he lied and told you he
- 56:34Speaker 1: would be lunching with a group of people. Then you
- 56:37Speaker 1: found out it was only two people, him and her,
- 56:40Speaker 1: the church secretary. Then he said he was going to
- 56:44Speaker 1: the church fundraiser when you couldn't go because you had
- 56:47Speaker 1: to work. He said he was going to the church
- 56:48Speaker 1: fundraiser with the secretary, so she wouldn't be out alone
- 56:52Speaker 1: at night. So when is it his responsibility to take
- 56:55Speaker 1: care of her? You're his wife now monitoring his phone
- 57:01Speaker 1: and you know, doing all of that sort of thing,
- 57:04Speaker 1: sleeping with it at night. It used to be on
- 57:06Speaker 1: the nightstand. Now he's turning into all these or suspicious
- 57:09Speaker 1: actions by your husband. His behavior has changed. Then you
- 57:15Speaker 1: go and catch them at lunch together, and then she
- 57:19Speaker 1: gets up in your face, his wife, and he let
- 57:22Speaker 1: her all very strange happenings. This should never happen. That's
- 57:26Speaker 1: your husband. He should have been the one saying, let
- 57:29Speaker 1: me handle this, and he should have checked her for
- 57:31Speaker 1: doing that. What more proof do you need, That's what
- 57:35Speaker 1: I'm asking you. What more proof do you need? You
- 57:38Speaker 1: know what's going on here? They're doing something, They're lunching together.
- 57:41Speaker 1: He's making sure she gets home. I mean, you know,
- 57:44Speaker 1: it's beyond being a gentleman. It's beyond that. At this point,
- 57:49Speaker 1: she tried to trick you and knock you off your game,
- 57:51Speaker 1: you know, telling you when she got in your face
- 57:53Speaker 1: saying you didn't trust your husband and all that, and
- 57:56Speaker 1: then you came to your senses and didn't fall forward.
- 57:59Speaker 1: Your husband is out of order. You have the proof,
- 58:02Speaker 1: and the question to you is what are you going
- 58:04Speaker 1: to do about it? Steve? It's my husband openly cheating
- 58:10Speaker 1: on me. I'm gonna read this letter, and I'm telling
- 58:15Speaker 1: you as I'm reading this letter, I'm going to lie
- 58:19Speaker 1: to you for the entire reading. Oh my god, I'm
- 58:24Speaker 1: gonna love this right because I love your life. Yeah,
- 58:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna lie to you. I want you to. I'm
- 58:30Speaker 1: gonna dissect this letter as the lie that you've been here.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Come on, lie detector. I love dear Steven Sherley. My
- 58:40Speaker 1: wife and I been married fifteen years. Just a dude now,
- 58:45Speaker 1: and I'm an associate pastor, so right there, Steve, I
- 58:49Speaker 1: mean I ought to get some points for that. I
- 58:51Speaker 1: am the associate pastor. I work hard for the Lord,
- 58:57Speaker 1: and I got a church secretary. Now you know how
- 59:00Speaker 1: church secretaries looked though, And she there from nine eight
- 59:04Speaker 1: to nine five pm, them them regular hours. Everybody got
- 59:09Speaker 1: to my hours right there, So what's wrong? And then
- 59:13Speaker 1: my wife she wanted. She won't everything, you know, want
- 59:16Speaker 1: some damn furniture and all that. So she gonna start
- 59:19Speaker 1: working hard times, you know, embarrassing me as a man,
- 59:23Speaker 1: like my efforts as a man ain't strong enough for
- 59:28Speaker 1: And you know I work downtown, you know, in this
- 59:30Speaker 1: art area town, and you know, you know, I'm handling
- 59:34Speaker 1: my business over there by the church. And there's a
- 59:36Speaker 1: lot of restaurants in the area. And on two different occasions,
- 59:41Speaker 1: just two now one two see one two one and two,
- 59:46Speaker 1: I called my wife and I told her I was
- 59:50Speaker 1: gonna be in the area that she worked at. Who
- 59:55Speaker 1: do that? If they're messing around, tell they wife where
- 59:59Speaker 1: theyin't gonna be, huh. I told her, I'm will be
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: in the air and I'm having lunch with some people
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: guess where, church people, because I ain't got no time
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: to stray outside the flock. I am the associate past
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: And then she gonna go through my stuff and find
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: some receipts and come come out. It was only two people,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: you had luck, I said, people, two way people all right,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: hold that, mister, pass me out, said I I said, people,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: we're gonna have part two of Jerry Suns Steve coming
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: up at twenty three minutes after the hour, Today's Strawberry Letters,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: subject is my husband openly cheating on me? We'll get
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: part two of Steve's response coming up right after this.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: You're listening morning show. Come on, Steve, Let's recap today's
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: strawberry letter? Is my husband openly cheating on me? So,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: as I said earlier, I've decided to read this is
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: up as the man. We're loving then tie letters, so
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: I want you to break you down, you know, so
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: I read it instead of the lady writing a letter.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: I'm responding to the letter as I'm reading it as
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: a man. You know, I've been man did this woman
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: fifteen long years, and I'm an associate pastor right there.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: All to get some points for that, right Steve. You know,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: I worked down at the church hard, and I got
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: a sect church secretary. You know what secretary looked like
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: at the church. Well, I got to sit around her
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: from nine to five all damn day. So then my
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: wife won't everything, you know, she ain't happen with me
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: as a man and what I'm making. So she's gonna
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: go get a part time job because she wants some
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: new damn furniture we're sitting around the church all the time.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: What we need new furniture for me? And then my work.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: My wife worked down in an artsy part of town, right,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: you know, and this craft stole and it's a lot
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: of nice restaurants down there that I like to go to.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: So on two separate occasions, count of Steve one two.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Both times, I'm going to die now. And I told her.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: I called her myself. I say, hey, baby, I'm gonna
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: be having lunch in the area, just to let you know.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: And I'm gonna be having some some lunch. Who do
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: that if they're cheating? And then I told her I
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: was gonna have some some lunch with some people to
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: church people, because that's all I'm around, right, Yeah, And
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: then she gonna find the receipts and then tripping talking
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: about only two people was at lunch. I sad people
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: two is two? Ain't a person? So sid pastor trying
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: to help say souls and I'm down here trying to
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: say some souls. And she looking at receipts talking up
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: here were two people. And then our church, you know,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: they had a community fundraising for students that was going
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: to college. You know, I learned the kids, you know,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: and I couldn't. She couldn't go because she hadn't worked
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: at the card times, trying to get some more damn furniture. Greed. Greed. Okay,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: So then I told my wife. I told her I'm
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: gonna go to the fund raiser with the church secretary,
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: so she ain't got to be out alone at night.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: The Lord told me these things that you do until
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: the least of these, so have you done unto me?
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: So now I'm trying to make sure your sister get
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: home safe, so don't nothing happen too. And then after
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: that she gonna start checking on me clothes, like she
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: got something on me. I told her at night, at night,
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: all the time people commit suicide. That night, I gotta
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: answer the phone. And then she come tripping talking about
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: I'll read something Texas smiling. Everybody ain't trying to kill themselves.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: Some people call it saying head pastor what's something man?
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: And I just smiled, you know. Then oh, she come
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: turning out. I sleep with my phone on the night
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: stand and not on the dressing because I don't want
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: it to go off and disturb her the dresser, so
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: it be far away because she needs sleep, you know.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: And then uh, and then last week she did something crazy.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: I called her again, tell how I was going to
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: the air for Look, who'll do that? If they're cheating?
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Then she gonna leave her job? Ride down? See my call.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: I'm in a Mexican restaurant. That's another thing. Who cheating
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: the Mexican restaurant. That's a lot of places to cheating.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Who'll do that? That's good? That's good? And why would
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: I cheat down there? All that good? You don't go
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: to the Mexican restaurant to cheat the food through damn good?
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Cheat that you cheat that fat food. You don't cheat
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: that restaurant. So now I'm down at the restaurant. She
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: walked in and then gonna come. I'm sitting there with
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: the church secretary, the people. I told her I was
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: going to dinner with people, and I'm sitting there with
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: the people. Guess what she worked at the church. Still,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: you know how the church said to tell you? And
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: then my secretary said, hold on, I handle this. I said, man,
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: who thank you Lord? Because you know, I didn't want
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: to make no scene, because you know, I'm associate pastor.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: So then she told the wife, you know, as she shoot,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: you ought to be shame of yourself should this man
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: downhill saving soul and for you to be so insecure
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: and walk up as though you don't trust him. He's
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: a man of God. And then I and the girl
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: was talking. It was good because I damnly believe it myself.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: She made me believe speak for me. And then so
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: I told her I denied doing any wrong. And now
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: my wife up set with me. She ain't got no
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: proof of no affair. The secretary told her she ought
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: to be shaped. She handled it. Yeah, So now my
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: wife want to know she ought to keep her eye
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: on me. Put out here in playing sight at Mexican
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: restaurant talking to my secretary about the business, and she
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: want to keep her eye on me. For what your
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: comments Sun Today, Strawberry Letter, thank you Steve as fine.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: People need Jesus too. Yeah, Steve im on Instagram and
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: hitting on her. She needs to just sit with somebody,
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: want to eat and don't forget to check out the
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter podcast. Underman Now coming up in forty six
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: minutes after the hour. Our girl from the Talk Cheryl Underwood.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: Right after this. You're listening, all right, Come on Steve
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: introduced that girl from the talk room that I'm talking about,
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Steve Harved Listen, I have questions, so this time instead
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: of me being so aggressively strident Carla Farrell's you know,
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: because I know what I said I want to talk
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: about last time, but you know there's a lot of
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: time warner everything. So this is what I want to
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: talk about. First of all, let's start with June tenth.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: That needs to be a federal holiday. You know what
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: I'm saying, It really needs to be a federal holiday.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: But I got a question, Thomas Junior's everybody, do we
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: celebrate or do we commemorate? Which one are we doing? Now? Oh? Yeah, good,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: good question? Yeah? Which one are we're doing a little
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: bit of both? Well, okay, well, I understand, first of all,
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: this way went left for me. First of all the
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: thirteen fourteenth man free to slave, mass, Space and progamation announcement.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: But if you live in Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, you didn't
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: hear it till June tenth, which that means you was
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: in slavery for two more years. So are we celebrating
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: that we found out two years later we were still
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: working or are we commemorating the fraud, the fraud. Okay,
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: go ahead, Tommy thirteen X what happened? Yeah, go ahead, Tommy.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: What you think? What's your think, Tommy? I don't know.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: I don't think we should celebrate that who year, we
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: had two more years to be slaves. I don't think
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: that's a celebration. You should? You are you? Sure? You are? Yeah?
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: You are? So? I look at it differently. I mean,
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: did somebody come somebody to come back here on a
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: horse saying we got good news, we'll be back in
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: a couple of day and never came back whatever. Yeah, Yeah,
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: that's that's see. That's why I'm trying to figure out, Sure,
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: describe so damn service like the King holiday, Yeah, and commemorate.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: We gotta make sure that they remember, just like they
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: remember what they've done to other people, the Japanese, to
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Jorge people, what they did to the Indians. You got
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: to remember what you did to ask so you'll never ever, ever, ever,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: ever ever do it again. So that's why I'm trying
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: to figure out how we gonna memoria Tip. That's right,
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: It's got to be a federal holiday. Now here's another question, Reddy,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: there's another question. Um, so they're getting rid of all
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: the racial stereotype of the breakfast. What took you all day?
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: I'm long everybody know as mamas was, that was stereotypical,
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: but also uh the lady that they based it on.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: What her name was, Nancy Green. She's born in slavery.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: But you ain't put that on your little webs like
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: you know to say that. Now you're finally gonna get
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: unka band. Okay, so you know I took him off
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: the rice and everything. Now what is missus Butterworth? Could
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: somebody explain to me? That's what is? Because she was
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: in the commercial once, she had a commercial dancing with
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: kind of Sanders. Yeah, so that's that's what Steve Harvey,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Steve Harvey, son of a gun, That's what I listen
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: to me. That's why I was. So we bring us
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: together or are we? What's happening? You know? Can we
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: step on that side of the Can I put cream
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: in my car? I'll tell you what when Colonel Sanders
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: and ain't your mamma was dating? Yes, when cream of
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Wheat was born, I didn't know that. Underwood coming, we
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: got Carla with reality update right after this. You're listening.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: All right, tell me, let's go, let's get to it.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: It's that time. Carl A Farrell with what reality update?
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: All right, here we go, nephew, just a little bit.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: I know we've been dealing with a lot of heavy stuff,
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: but I just got a little bit of reality news
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: to report. Eva marcel our girl, Eva is leaving The
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: Real Housewives of Atlanta two seasons. I don't know, I
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: don't know. You know, as a cast member on the show,
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Eva she has been through a lot. She got married
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: to her husband, she had babies, she got a new house.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: But yeah, She released a statement saying, in part, I
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: believe that what I hope to accomplish for the culture
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: and community will be better served by focusing on other opportunities.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: So Eva is leading y'all, y'all are not here for
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: the culture that ain't The Housewives is fault culture. Yeah,

- 1:11:34Speaker 1: and you know on Sunday. Still they come on Sundays. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: they come on Sunday, but they meet on Friday. When
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: you ask, the taping went down. One I'm opening the stole,
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: the other one come to the stove. Turnover some matches stove,
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: then somebody don't go to the stove, then release a
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: video talking about the damn stove, and then got real Candy.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: Candy is doing her thing. Yeah I don't know even
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: she had beef with Ninie you know during the season,
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: that's why she going or everybody. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: So we'll see what's going on with Eva and uh
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: let's move on. You know, I got this keeping it
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: Real files, So I got this I want to include
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: in my segment. So check this out. Do y'all remember

- 1:13:17Speaker 1: this video. It was cute. Yeah, well, goring viral might
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: not be a bad thing. Y'all know the security officer
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: that was detaining the lady in the video, his name
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: is Julius and this security guard he has gotten up.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: He's received a whole bunch of job offers because people said, yeah,
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: but what they said, that's what happened to me. A
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: lot of people are saying that he kept his professionalism
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: in the video, so he's have job offers for security
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: companies in Los Angeles. God. I finally, yeah, yeap the
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: bodyguard in Atlanta. So there you go, going viral was

- 1:17:15Speaker 1: progress toward racial equalities through several initiatives and take a
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: hard look at their brand's portfolio. Wow about time. Uncle
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Ben's is also changing its brand identity. Uncle Ben's picture
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: is a beloved chef from Chicago. I didn't know that, however,
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: The imagery evokes a servant title that white Southerners once used,
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: uh and an uncle for older blacks because they refused
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: to say mister and missus. And then finally Missus Butterworth
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: says it would conduct a whole branding and packaging review.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: So there you go. So Miss Butterworth is changing too,
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: Missus Butterworth, Missus Butterworth, Uncle Ben's and Aunt Jemima not
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: to Ain't your Mamma? I understand that one. I understand
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: that one did Miss butters work for I didn't never
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: feel no kind of way about that. But I'm just
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: gonna tell you right now, if you take uncle Being
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: off the Rice, I'm not buying another damn box of it.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: You want Uncle being on there? No, Uncle Being ain't
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: making no white man. It's gonna be River Rice or
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: something like that, right at Rice. Well, I'm not buying it.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: And what did they say? Change? An't your mamma? Ain't
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: answering Mama, what it's gonna be. They're they're reviewing everything now,
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: so well it's gonna be Unclaire. Well know when they
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: repackage and rebrand, because I'm not ready for low camping yet.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: That low cabin serve. I'm not putting that on my panta. No,
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: I ain't changing it that. So they're gonna answer mom
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: off to Miss Butterworth, ain't your Ain't your mama. She
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: the serve the pancakes. She everything. The ribbon on your head,
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: they're not in the front. Oh yeah, but then they
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: they took that. Yeah, did her hair. She had a
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: nice they take that away five years ago, got out
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: here tied up like she tupac. But it used to
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: be like that. Yeah, but then they took her hair
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: down and gave her a nice hair. A nice dude.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: If the colonel knows answer, well, that's a whole nother story. Yeah,
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: because because you stole that chicken. We do know that
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: I'm a great chicken. Nah, that chicken is my live
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: his maid. Right, he's stole the maids the cook's recipe.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: I did not still the recipe. They seven spices. I've
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: known this for a long time. Coming up, it's our
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: last break of the day. It's the last break of
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: to day, and we'll have some closing remarks from the
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: one in our I love that one. It was kind
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: of smooth, yeah, kind of cool. Closing remarks coming up
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: from the one and only Steve Harvey at forty nine
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: minutes after right after this, you're listening to all right, Steve,
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: here we are last break of the day. You know,
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: Oh my closing remarks have just been off the top
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: of my head, and because I have so much to
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: think about and say, and this is all I want
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: to say in closing today. I hope that the one
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: of that one of the things that comes out of
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: all of this pulling back the curtain on racism, finally
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: people seeing the videos that we see and seeing what
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: we see in them. The thing that I'm hoping comes
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: out of this that I think would be the easiest
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: to do is simply duplicate the laws that we have
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: for civilians and put them in place for our policemen.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: It only makes sense. It's the law that we have
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: to obey. Why shouldn't it be the law that they
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: have to obey. Mandatory sentencing for police officers who break
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: civil laws. It seems so easy to me. It's almost
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: to me a no brainer, And I think I don't
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: know how to get it done, but I'm gonna do
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: my best to make my voice heard on this issue,
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: because this is an important issue. If police officers were
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: held to the same accountability as US civilians, would that
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: would that would register in such a big way. Example,
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: I'm a black man junior and Tommy Okay, we're here
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: today as black men, we know that if we shoot
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: somebody unarmed, we already know we're going to jail. We're done.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: We're done, and Lord have mercy. If we shoot a
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: white person, we're going to get the maximum sentence. We
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: know this. Every black person know this. It's called mandatory sentencing,
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: and we gonna get the maximum. We've had to deal
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: with that since we got here. The maximum penalty is
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: always administered to people of color. So let me say this.
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: If a white person kills another white person, they know,
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: if that white person was unarmed, that white person for
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: killing the other white person is going to probably do
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: some time. Yeah, because we have laws in this country.
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: So all I'm saying is why not have those same
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: laws just apply to the people who are sworn to
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: serve and pretend and uphold that very law. See, you
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: can't have these people in a position to administer and
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: uphold the law and have the ability to break it
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: at the same time. This is not the way of justice.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: And let me say this. Somebody pointed this out to
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: me that made so much sense. A matter of fact,
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: it was Kimberly Jones. It takes longer to get a
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: barber's license than it does to become a police officer.
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: And all you're doing is cutting somebody. Here, you get
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: a badge, you get a can of mace, you get
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: a baton, you get handcuffs, and you get a lethal weapon.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: And you can become a police officer before you can
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: become I'm a barber. What are you kidding me? So
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: the things that have to happen, what should have happened
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: in this bill that this president signed was we have
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: to have our police officers in training longer. We have
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: to intensify the black excuse me, we have to intensify
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: the background check. And then once you become a police
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: officer and you take the oath to serve and protect,
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: you also have to take an oath with your right
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: hand that you are going to obey the law. If
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: you break the law, you have mandatory sensencing, just like
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: a civilian. If your partner does not show any way
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: of stopping you, or fixes his police report to say
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: what you wanted to say so you can appear to
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: be a little bit more innocent, then that's called aid
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: un abetting. He does time for that too. See, this
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: is not a stretch. We're not asking you to make
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: police officers be something else. But because you go to
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: an academy for twenty one weeks and you get a badge,
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: a gun, some mace, a stick, and some cuffs does
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: not give you the power to decide if I die today.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: You don't have the right to decide if I die
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: today because my skin color don't match yours, and you
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: have this feeling of superiority that you have the right
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: to be more than I am because you are white.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: Them days is done, Them days is done. And my
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: hat off to these young lions that's out here, roaring,
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: hats off to you. Keep demonstrating, keep protesting. I'm starting
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: to feel less and less about these buildings, just like
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: you feel less and less about these lives. Wow, thank you, Steve. Hey, yeah, hey, hey, listen, Steve,
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: don't forget something very special tomorrow or kicks off today.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: I should say your mentoring cap for young men. You're
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: having to do it virtually this year from ten am
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: to ten thirty am. You have Manhood one oh one.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: This is where you open up the twenty twenty mentoring
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: camp with dialogue. You do a Q and A with
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: our young men, and everybody looks forward to that and
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: this is gonna be a great one, another great mentoring camp,
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: and you always we had to do it of course
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: zoom and virtual because we can't bring three hundred boys
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: and put them in bunks two feet apart, right, you know,
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: just just couldn't do it this year. But we have
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: some great sponsors. And thank all of our sponsors for
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: hankar with us. And understand this is a twenty twenties different. Yeah,
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: it is. It's different. Thank you, Steve, and thank all
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: y'all for y'all support for the Steve Marjorie Harvey Foundation.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: We into changing young people's lives business and we're gonna
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: do that in spite of what the country's doing. You're
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: just gonna keep we goal. Thank you amen. For all
